5-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!
This game is awesome.I don't know what some other people are complaining about.I've been playing sports games since most of the readers of this article were just a twinkle in their daddy's eyes, and this one is honestly the funniest I've ever played.Dave Attel (from Comedy Central's "Insomniac") has got to be the perfect choice for the low-brow humor this game has to offer, as long as you're old enough (and smart enough) to get the jokes!Anyone who's played sports video games long enough knows that the commentating on EVERY game gets tiresome after you've heard it a million times, and this one is no different. This game definitely caters more towards guys in their twenties who like to get wasted, talk trash, and play video games (every frat should have a copy). On a scale of 1-10, the graphics are at least an 8 (the girls might not be real, but I'm from California, so we're used to that.), the gameplay scores about an 8 as well (easy to learn, difficult to master), and the multiplayer scores a 7 in my book (some of the play modes are not available for multiplayer). The only major drawback of the game is really the load times, which are often quite long.But...if you happen to be male, over 18, IQ over 100, have friends, enjoy sports, and in the market for a new game, buy this one.People pay OVER $60 A YEAR to play sports games like Madden NFL, don't you think it's about time we stop being so nitpicky about decent games that only cost $20 and consider the overall value?

3-0 out of 5 stars Definitley Not like 1
Well this isnt like the First outlaw golf...There are good points to it..the new characters, outfits, and even a few of the new courses..Although some of the courses are really bad and difficult. The worst part of Outlaw golf 2 overall has to be the announcer or commetar...what is up with that idiot...No where near funny like the first one and the lines are so over done many times.it is some what fun if you take the talking out and get use to the courses..rent it first if you can then decide to buy it..I was disappointed

4-0 out of 5 stars To players of Outlaw Golf 1
This game have many advantages to the original Outlaw Golf, but don't expect it to be too much of an improvement. The first thing that struck me is that it isn't nearly as funny as the first game. The announcer has no comedic timing, is very bland, and I ended up turning him off after a few minutes.Few of the characters themselves have the same personality in their voice acting as before, and the player reactions that actually have them talking are few in far between.About 2/3 of the player reactions are the same for each character of the same sex. Many just have them taking the ball out of the hole and waving to the crowd.

Outside of this disappointment, it's still a very good game. Some mechanics have been changed, but the overall feel of the gameplay is the same.Playing the courses are fun, and there are 2-3 times as many holes to play than before. There are more costumes and players to choose from, but there's not much difference between them with such bland voice acting. There are many more challenges, and they're much more creative. My favorite involves hitting explosive balls into a field full of cows to see how many you can knock down.

All in all, it's a fun game to play. It's just that all the humor that made the first one great is missing in this sequel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outlaw Golf is back!
Outlaw Golf 2 is even better then the first. This game is the best thing you can pick up besides Halo 2.
The graphics in this game flat out rock. The golfing is the best out there. And the soundtrack is just awsome.
From the very get go this game will have you laughing and crying.
The carictors are some of the funnyest out there. Each line and cut seen are worth every penny you pay for it.
And the gaming is full out par. Each stroke you make can be the best,But just a slight hickup in it can send your ball flying.
To put it bluntly this game is so worth the twenty bucks you will pay for it.Don't wait pick it up today.
And get ready to start hacking your way out of the rough. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good addicting "Bejeweled reminscent fun" for 20 bucks!
Gamers that like Tetris, Columns, Bejeweled, Collapse, you will love Ultra Bust A move and there have not been games like this on XBOX, the simple premise will keep you happy for a long time.

Ultra Bust A Move is somewhat like Bejeweled only this time your shooting the jewels from a cannon to line them up and requires targeting to line them up and make them disappear. It's very difficult to describe but the simplicity of it, no matter how you look at it, is very addicting. The strategy of lining up colored jewels and targeting them exactly where you want them to go, it's the perfect game for your mother or young child to play. It's very easy to get into and advanced gamers will appreciate the harder levels as you progress. The online part of it is basic enough, you just go at it one on one with another player and try to beat his score on a split screen, basic, yes, fun, I think so!

The graphics are good for what the game is, very colorful and bright but some of the levels may hurt your eyes after awhile, don't play this in the dark, you might want too see an eye doctor after. Very cheesy music and custom soundtracks would have been wonderful, but we didn't get that option, sigh. Because the music intact is downright awful.

Overall, for 19 bucks, I was happy. It's good fun. Just hope you have sunglasses. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Remake
This game is at least 3 stars if you don't own any of the Tony Hauk games. This game is exactly the same except that you're
on a snowboard and going down hill. I would not rcomend getting this game if you have ever played Tony Hauk and didn't like it.
The game objective is the same as Tony Hauk. It's pretty much a remake.

5-0 out of 5 stars That was fat!
Everything a snowboarder could wish for in the offseason.
If your little brother brings over his friend who still needs to learn about the order of the birds and the bees, and, lets say he customizes his boarders apparel to look a little on the fruity side, then the cameramen will not hisitate to express exactly what is going through your head, so you don't have to go through the effort of saying it yourself.I won't mention exactly what they say, but it starts whith "Qu" and ends with "eer!"
Really hard to advance, but the bragging rights are worth it.Also, there's a video of Australian pro Tora Bright. She's kinda cute.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Snowboarding Game!
I played this on my friends Xbox and at first I was like man he bought a snowboarding game, but in fact this game is awesome. It pretty much has it all and can be very hard and you have to stick certain things or go all out. It can really get irritating on pro and photoshot challenges towards the end of the career but it just makes you that much better or very lucky. Oh yeah in his game, maybe all, there is quite a few glitches, like starting a pro challenge and just falling backwards and falling into a cliff and be stuck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amped 2
Okay, I have done real snowboarding & played Amped 2 & I can tell you that this IS a realistic simulation, In snowboarding, you really DO gain speed that fast, you really DO get that much air off ramps & you ARE able to pull off a 360 on the flat, the only unrealistic aspects of the game for me were the sparks when you grinded a rail and the way your character slows down. the levels are huge with short loading times, the variety of tricks for an Extreme sport's title is second only to the Tony Hawk Titles. you wont get bored in a hurry, buy this game NOW!

Australia does have snow if anyone think's I'm lying about snowboarding

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool
I'm not usually a fan of sports-type games, but Amped 2 was pretty good. I like the fact that you don't have to play as any particular person. You get to pick from several base characters, male/female, black/white, etc. and then choose what types of clothes, goggles, gloves, boards, etc. you want you character to have. The game gives you a freedom to explore massive parts of mountains and just mess around, but you'll have to unlock different mountains in campaign mode. Campaign mode is pretty cool though: for each mountain you have to complete certain tricks, beat certain high scores, take a few photoshoots, etc. which are challenging at times but usually pretty fun. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Rent it first.......
A lot has already been covered in previous reviews.Mybiggest gripe is a lack of head to head play in season mode!If you are playing another person you have to play on the same team unless you are in quick game mode.In season mode you can no longer have you and your friend pick 2 fav teams and play the season out.You now have to select all 30 teams and sim all the other games which seem to arise out of order and you and up doing a sim game on the one you wished to play.

Secondly, the manual for this game is about 4 pages long.If you are not already familiar with previous NHL gameplay, you will be a bit lost.

Rent this game even though it's under $30......

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as people make it out to be
I am not going to hype this game or make negative aggressive remarks about it either. The problem that we have here is there are no good NHL games in the video game market at this time. I own ESPN NHL 2k5 for the PS2 and I thought it was a terrific game and even improved on last year's ESPN Sega title. That was until I got 26 games into a dynasty and the game froze up on me. Not one of those oh damn maybe I should reset the game and play it over. No, the dynasty froze up. I could not even simulate past the game that I was playing to go on with my franshise. The game played like a 20 dollar game when it happened to me again. This time during my playoff run. I received an Xbox for Christmas and purchased NHL 2005 with a gift card. The game was refreshingly fun to play, although I must say that the ESPN 2k5 game was the better game all around, the fact that the NHL 2005 game shows promise not to freeze up gives me hope that I can somewhat enjoy a hockey game for a console. The graphics are very good and the shadows on the ice and the jerseys are much more vivid and refined than last year's EA Sports title. There are times when players seem to do incredibly impossible moves that I believe are graphic glitches. The players still seem like they are running on a frozen mat and the physics of ice skating do not seem very well done. The dynasty mode is deep as usual and fun as ever. The player models are well done and are looking better and better with every year that goes by especially with the player's looking more and more like their real life selves. The main drawback there will be is that the dynastys only last 10 seasons. There really should be more seasons than that when other EA sports games have dynastys that last 30 years for Madden, 120 years for MVP baseball and 25 years for NBA Live. I recommend this game for anyone who is looking for a DECENT hockey title to play until the players come back from the lock out. Like I said earlier, the ESPN game would beat this game in overall gameplay and fun factor if they did not have those software glitches. I rather have paid the extra 20 dollars or so to have a complete game. Overall NHL 2005 receives 3.75 out of 5 stars. There are too many things that keep this game away from getting a full 4 star rating i.e too much hitting, corny commentators etc...

2-0 out of 5 stars Did I mistakenly buy Hitz?
I'm an avid hockey fan, player, and supporter of the EA franchise, having played the games since 93.This year EA took a major step back from having a fun hockey game to having a frustrating one.(I've played 21 games into a season on normal or hard (I forgot) and am 15-4-1-1 so I'm not complaining because I can't win.)

Issues:When you switch players it often doesn't go to the guy you'd expect it to go to (i.e. the closest one to the puckcarrier).Your team AI is dumb as a box of rocks and the computer has way too much time to make moves while being a few inches from your goalie. This and weird shots always being scored makes this game frustrating. The real killer is the hitting. No NHL game ends with close to 100 hits per team.Bodies are always flying and there are no calls. This was a bit out of control. Some team information in season mode is hard to find (like who's hurt, hot or cold).

Positives: The game looks good and the skaters move good.It sounds like a real game and the music is limited, but fun.The 4 for all mode is fun for just messing around. The fighting mode (in terms of when you want to fight) is much better. Now you can try to pick one but the other player has to want to dance as well.

Overall EA took a major step back this year making a simulation game into an arcade game that trys to look like a simulation.

2-0 out of 5 stars Does not learn from last years mistakes
Last years NHL 2004 was a major step backward for the usually good NHL series from EA sports. It included very poor control of player movement, a bad passing system, poor one-timers, difficult face-off system, lack of fully editable players in dynasty modes, bad menu flow, not enough tweakable controls to create your own experience, and worst of all was the over the top hitting/checking.
This years edition only improves on the problems with the menu flow (this years is actually quite good), however it seems the other issues have been neglected, or made even worse.

The most noticable and annoying element to game has to be the ridiculous checking and hitting. There is so much checking in this game that the rest of the gameplay should follow suite of games like NHL Hitz, but instead it mixes Hitz arcade style with simulation gameplay. This creates an extremely frustrating situation for trying to create plays with your teammates, and for getting ahead in the game (unless your playing on the easiest difficulty). There is so much hitting that the announcers are constantly cutting each other off to say "what a crushing hit" or the often "LAID OUT".The worst part about this though is that even though they provide you with 5 slider bars for adjusting checking gameplay, changing them makes little to no impact on the experience, leaving the sliders useless. The funny thing is that this games main feature is OPEN ICE gameplay, but it is negated by the extremely easy checking. Even after you have created open ice, it can be easily closed by a check from behind from a player that realistically could never have caught up to the player with the puck.

If you can stand the over the top checking aspect of the game, then you are still left with some other major problems. The feel of the control is one thing that seems similar to last year.Movement for players is very strange, there are two seperate shooting buttons (which can be confusing), passing can sometimes give strange results. It also seems like there is latency to every action you take, especially wrist shots. While those aspects all feel like they are taking control away from the player, deking and shot aiming are pretty good.

While there are some new cool little throwaway features implemented (like line chemistry), all of the neglected problems listed in the first paragraph of this review makes NHL 2005 no better if not worse than last years dissapointing game in the series. The good news though is that ESPN NHL Hockey and ESPN NHL 2K5 are both great hockey games, and are outstanding in comparison to the last two NHL games from EA. It's absolutely no contest, go save yourself $30 and pickup this years ESPN NHL 2K5 instead of NHL 2005. You will not regret it if you care at all about fun gameplay.

2-0 out of 5 stars major disappointment
just not up to par...limited game modes...awkward game play...no ea sports bio or rewards...ESPN 2K5 is much, much better at under $20 ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Platform Game Outside the Mario/Sonic Mold
I really enjoyed this game despite being completely unfamiliar with the previous two games.Like most other platformers it has all the worlds you've come to expect such as desert, ice, forest, and water. But what most sets it apart from the pack is the sense of humor; both in the cutscenes and in the wisecracks you will hear from the various characters ( crazed dentists, bratty kids, inquisitive nerds, and mischievous elves ).Unlike Ratchet + Clank and the Jak and Daxter series, the comedy here actually works since it is more mature and doesn't ape the Disney model ( goody two-shoes hero with a goofy/irritating tag-along sidekick ).And, if you're a child of the 80's, you'll get a kick out of the vinyl sleeves of the records you collect, which parody landmark hip-hop, r&b, and funk albums. The game is a respectable length and sells for reasonable price; the only knock against it is the level of challenge. It can't be adjusted, and is just a bit too easy to slide through ( although, some of the timed bonus challenges can be tricky ) once you get the hang of it.But this is somewhat alleviated by the abundance of unfunky earthlings ( midwestern 50's housewives with beehives? Hilarious! ) chasing you around the rather narrow dimensions of most worlds. All in all, this a game you should certainly pick up, since I haven't played any other that made me laugh more and few others that were quite as much fun.

3-0 out of 5 stars Just a platformer with a theme
ToeJam & Earl III is a standard platform game (think mario).

On any given level you accomplish a set of tasks that include collecting things (keys, presents, food), convert humans to the funk, and delivering something from A to B. You can play as any of the 3 characters and switch mid-game.

Along the way you can find power-ups, replenish your health, jump, run...all the standard stuff.

The focus on the funk is all about old-school hip-hop. ToeJam, Earl, and Latisha are all sterotypical hip-hop characters. Mini-level cut-scenes include sweet-honey-in-the-rock style vocals. The focus on the funk is different although taken somewhat overboard. That's ok though. This is a platformer.

This is as much of a kids game as any platformer (crash bandicoot, spongebob) although there isn't really any violence (unlike flying body parts in crash). Humans will come up and kick you but when you blast your funk-fu at them they become nice and stop hitting.

More like Spongebob, this is more tongue-in-cheek and not serious like Mario.

All in all this is a decent platformer that is a little different and somewhat amusing.

I purchased mine from an alternate seller (used & new) which offered a reasonable price.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Game!
I am quite suprised by the people who gave this game such low scores.Toejam and Earl III is one of the funnest games I have played in a real long time.

I've been a TJ&E fan since the begining back on Sega Genesis and I've been looking foward to this since they announced it would be released on Dreamcast.Unfortunatly, the game never made it to Dreamcast and ended up being released only on X-Box.Being a loyal sega fan and old schooler gamer, there's no way I'm going to buy an X-box.Toejam & Earl 3 is the only game on the whole system that I am even impressed with.

I am now in pain because this game is only released on one system.I dont want to buy an X-Box for just this game, and I dont feel its right for Sega to ask us too.I hope they port this game to the PC or create a new version for GBA or something.

Here's an idea: why not port the original 2 games onto the Game Boy Advance?I'm still holding my breath.

Until then, Jam out to the funky music of TJ&E III and have yourselves a blast!

1-0 out of 5 stars terrible
if anyone wants this game let me know! because this is the [dummmist] game ive ever played! actually i dont want to give this to any one because they would be pissed at me for life. this is the only review i ever wrote but i just had to warn people dont buy rent or give anyone this!

5-0 out of 5 stars Insert Title With The Word "Funk" In It Here.
I loved ToeJam and Earl 1. When I was... ooh.. 13 we'll call it, me and my mates were playing TJ&E whenever we could get our hands on it.

III is I, but 3D. That's really all there is to it. The elevators, the presents, the food, the baddies, the chickens, the tomatoes. I must admit the voices weren't exactly as I'd placed them, but you get used to 'em.

But, this is a great game even if you haven't played TJ&E1 - OK, so it's a fairly easy collect-em-up, it's just so... funky. It sounds unimaginative to describe this "funk"-laden game as just funky - surely I could think of some better adjectives than one used every ten seconds in the plot scenes? - but that's what it is. It's funky. It's chilling (sorry, chillin'). It's so laid-back it's damn near horizontal. It also comes in PG and G-rated flavours, so get the irritating brat that kicks shins in YOUR house and teach them the Ways of the Funk. Really. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Pro Fishing?
First I understand that the title is Rapala but please. For choices of rod/reel selection there are no baitcasters... what's up with that.Secondly the weight of the fish versus the drag setting is a joke, I fish numerous tournaments and have never had a 5 to 6 lb Largemouth bass break my line with my drag set as tight as it can go, yet it happens in this game. The actuall setting of the hook well as the other reviews point out it is pretty much random as there is no skill here, there always seems to be way to much slack in the line. There is no changing the speed of which you reel-in just start or stop. Lastly the amount of lake available to fish is really pathetic. At least for the price, you only out 20 dollars.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough attention to detail
The game is fun when you first play, but there are too many flaws for long term enjoyment. My list of the bad:
- NO multiplayer
- can only select from Rapala lures, not soft baits, no spinners, etc.
- deep diving baits go directly to the bottom regardless of water depth, and are unuseable
- lures do not react realistically to rod movement, move the rod tip up and your lure may move 4-5 feet, there is also a terrible delay to rod movements, retrieves, and stops - stop-and-go retrieves do not work, and twitching jerk baits does not work - this is the most annoying part of the game
- consistent casting distance is difficult to achieve
- line tension meter is not consistent with fish movements
- setting the hook seems to be a random event, not dependent on how you perform the actions
- holding the right trigger (retrieve) continuously with a fish on makes no difference in the fight or the tension meter
- you only get a small portion of a lake to fish - maybe 200 acres of a 20,000 acre lake
- tournament mode places you directly in the lake, there is no pre-launch strategy such as reviewing topo maps
- fishing partner sounds like Jerry McGinnis and talks more than Fish Fishburn - annoying - his only useful tip is "this looks like a good spot"
- horrible boat driving simulation - you won't be driving the boat around for fun

It is impossible to write a review for this game, as it is not real.I had it reserved since January 2004, when it was originally supposed to come out, and finally withdrew my reservation today, July 26, 2004, because I no longer believe it will ever come out.I got the GameCube version tonight, which, like the PS2 version, has no online support.I just got sick of waiting, and the demo I downloaded for Mac OSX was awesome. What's most disturbing is that several critical reviews came out for this game in January as well, when it will probably never even be released to the public. How dare they.I own all three popular gaming consoles, and have no desire to play on anything but Xbox, as the others are inferior.Give me the game for a real system, you scumbags.

4-0 out of 5 stars Its a great game!
I loved the 2-d version Worms Armageddon. This game looks like its just as good and more! I soo look forward to when i play this game. This game is a good, fun game. The people at Acclaim Entertainment Inc. have a great sense of humor, a game where worms duke it out until the last worm standing (well, crawling)is the victor. I think its only drawback is that it is a single player game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I played the GC version of this, and it was excellent (the most fun I had with any GC game yet). My friend and I played this late into the night and it never got dull. Pick it up, especially if you played the 2-d version. I think the 3d version is marginally better then the 2d version, but they are are different then eachother enough to make such a comparision meaningless.

4-0 out of 5 stars .............drool................
This is probably the most original, the most random game I have ever played.A must get for people who like medium depth strategy games, like the Legend of Zelda series, like this has anything to do with it.Its tough, in a fun, not frustrating. That trait is hard to find is many games.First Halo, now this.Once in a lifetime.

5-0 out of 5 stars Are people slow??
I have played every single worm game from Worms I-III on the pc, to Armagedon on Dreamcast to Armagedon on the game boy.Every one of them has been exelent with there wide rang of weapons, great voice clips, and fun game play.Definitly more fun with friend than against the computer,(...) I will buy the X box version, but I have played the game cube one and I loved it. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Frustrating at first; hunter is a wimp; gorgeous graphics
It works ok on my computer, except that in the final campaign I can no longer access my inventory and re-installing didn't help. In the first scenario, when you are hunting in the "jungle of South Dakota" the trees and brush are so thick you can't see your quarry. The red dots aren't much help, because the animals can be ten feet from you or ten miles away. When you finally manage to get out of the initial scenario, the game picks up and becomes quite enjoyable. But my hunter keeps fainting, for no apparent reason, even when he's wearing proper clothing and I keep plying him with food and drinks and keep him at a walk. Very annoying when you've finally hit a big horn sheep with the requisite bow-and-arrow, and your hunter faints! (What a wimp!) It's kind of neat when a bear or other predator sneaks up on you and mauls you. (No, really!) Though I doubt if the game warden would merely find you unconscious after you've been mauled by a grizzly! The graphics after the first scenario are gorgeous and highly detailed. Except for these really lovely graphics, there isn't much to recommend it over the many other hunting games on the market. Oh, well - buy it on sale!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the one to get!
Activision made some great improvements to thie Cabela's series of hunting games.I enjoy this game much more than their 2005 Deer Hunt. The game follows sort of a story line where you travel from lodge to lodge trying to fill certain requirements and trophies.Along the way you might be called to help rescue an injured hunter or to take down an injured animal. What adds to the thrill of the game is that occasionally you are not only the hunter but also the "Hunted"!Preditor animals come after you while searching through the thicket.Give you a nice burst of adreneline.

Activision also made it easier to navigate through the controls and find stuff in your backpack.

Nice job Activision!

2-0 out of 5 stars Does NOT work.
This game is the victim of extremely poor netcode. There is a 20% chance of getting into a 2v2 game in Free Mode, and close to 0% in Campaign mode.It is supposed to support 5v5, but no one in the US has been able to come close to that.My connection is a 2mb DL/512k UL.

Capcom & Microsoft are playing the blame game, and the customers are left out to dry.I recommend getting something else until (or if) these issues are fixed. It's really a shame - the game itself is outstanding. If you can't play an online-only game online...what good is it?!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is going to be one of the most epic games ever
Last Christmas I took the plunge into getting Steel Battalion. To this day, I play it at least 5 times a week, the game is so incredibly awesome. Now with Line of Contact coming very soon, its going to take this game to the next epic level. With Xbox Live (yes its online!) five on five teams can battle it out in deathmatches, capture the flag and more game modes to be shown later. New VT's (vertical tanks, that's what you pliot in the game) new weapons, new mission & enviroments. If you are a dir hard Mech fan, this game will have you pissing in your pants. When played on a 48' HDTV w/ surround sound, this is one of the best game experiences ever. My respect for the Xbox has been won over with this game, not even Halo could warm me up to this system. But in order to enjoy this game, you MUST have the 40 button, 3 foot pedel controller with is included with the origianal game. So, if you are feeling up to the steep challenge (and price) you will have the time of your gaming life with this game. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Starts off with whimper, but makes a 180 turn on the 16,level
The storyline is like a popcorn summer action movie, with the movie-like cinematics. But the first 15 levels of this game are pretty much standard FPS,no real big eye-catching graphics. But when you get to the 16th level all the way to the last level 25th,it's a much ,much better game A.I. improves ,graphics improve, everything gets better. If I was a producer of this game I wouLdv'e started with the level 16 then go from there, because it became a better FPS at that point.I rented this game and was goona return it after playing first few levels, but I paid 6.00 bucks so I figured I'd finish it and get my money's worth.Man did it get better on the 16th level and up,Graphics actually got ten times better. And the enemies became much more intense. This game is pretty much a no-brainer shooter.Just take cover, shoot and move, repeat. In conclusion a run of the mill FPS.That turns into a nice FPS in the 16th level. But dont expect anything on the blockbuster scale.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but very good
The reason I gave this game 5 stars was that I felt that a ranking of 3 stars was not fair. This game is not the slickest or technically best game out there, but it comes together overall to definitely be a great game.It is a great FPS shooter that feels like your in a movie. It does have some flaws (slow load times, slow frame rates in some areas) but these are offset by the awesome story line and cinematics which make for an intense experience.Don't let the reviews of some game techie who is totally engrossed with the technical aspects ruin this fun game.Give it a rent, then make up your mind.

3-0 out of 5 stars Alright
The graphics are what turned me off at first. The guns are no very detialed and you die too easaly. One thing i did like was how you can carry 3 weapons. The animation was choppy and the Enamey A.I. Is not very good at all. There is no story line just levels and shooting thats it. 3 stars. It wasnt as good as i had hoped.:(

3-0 out of 5 stars Its okay, but not worth buying
When I first played this game, I enjoyed it for about a month. But after awhile,I really got bored of it.I mean, going around in dull environments and blasting stupid A.I. Not only that, but the graphics look like crap! If you want a better squad-based game, play Freedom Fighters.

1-0 out of 5 stars not very good
They may have spent alot of their budget on sound but soundtrack itself right out of a bad hollywood war movie...say, GI Jane.

The gameplay is pretty bad in every aspect. First, you'll notice bad controls. Second, you'll notice bad AI. And last, before you trade it in or send it back to the video store early...you'll feel this game MIGHT have been alright if it was released 4 years ago. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst game ever!
Fans of Fight Club Beware!
The first rule of this game is that you do not talk about it...seriously, please never mention this game.It sucked really really bad.I got it for $30 new, that same $30 would have bought a lot of dog poop and I would've gotten much more enjoyment from that.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is sick
First off, **** everyones opinion. I like the game a lot, I know the graphics are a lot better than honestly 90% of other fighting games out there. The fighting system is very unique and extremely realistic, "the most brutal fighting game out there". They pretty much have the whole cast of fight club in the game, only problem is Tyler and "Jack" dont look like brad pitt and edward nortan from the movie but whatever, lets all cry about it. Storyline is okay, its not terrible.. it's just what else is there to explain? It's a game based off of a movie. It still has some storyline you dont know of, like the person who actually blew up the buildings at the end of the movie... it wasn't Tyler Durden ;). The custom soundtrack def. makes the game tons better because this game is just perfect for your own music, listen to Rage Against the Machine or any fight music you want, your choice. Just rent the game first, maybe you just wanna play some cheap tekken game instead... try the game out if you are interested in it like I was, personally, i think this game is the most ridiculous underrated fighting game of all time. I'd give the game a 9.5 hands down, I was really impressed

1-0 out of 5 stars Cheddar is cheesier, but this is close.
Wow, I rented this and am glad that it was a rent one, get one free: this was the free one.

To be fair, the simple thrill of a "beat em' up" game is here... but after an hour or so, there's nothing else to it.

I picked it up, no instructions and finished the pitiful story mode in about a half hour. If the makers of this game had spent half the time putting better programming into the game itself as they did the cheesy Fight Club moviettes, it might be a little more fun.

Here's a foolproof way to win... come up with 2-3 combos of buttons (randomly pressing them is fine too) and beat your opponent to a pulp. That's it. No tricks, not big deal.

At first thought, I'd have said if you are a huge fan of the movie... that would be the only reason to pay $50 (or $5) for this game. In retrospect, seeing as this game does no justice to the movie at all and basically is a mockery of it... if you love Fight Club the movie, you'd likely loathe this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Did the Game Designer Even See the Film?
This game is horrible. I question whether the game designer has even seen the movie. Fight Club was a beautiful film with a story that could have become a great game, a la GTA 3. Tyler Durden leads Project Mayhem in the film in which all sorts of tasks have to be completed to destroy consumer society. "Fight Club is just the beggining" he says. Watch the movie and you will demand gameplay that allows you to destroy the trendy coffee shop, make bombs from liposucked fat, and intimidate the city mayor by threatening to remove his manhood. This game ignores all that and instead focuses on repetitive fighting. They had a chance to make greatly controversial game that would have blown GTA out of the water and they blew it. If you want a good fighting game, look elsewhere. If you want a game more like Fight Club should be, pick up GTA for $20 or get GTA San Andreas now on PS2 or wait for the X-Box release.

2-0 out of 5 stars WORTHLESS
Please don't waste your time. I am so glad I rented this instead of buying it. It has a very very few shining moments, but for the most part it is BORING the same fighters with different colored hair. Great idea. Very poorly executed. Don't waste your money. If you are still curious rent it first. You'll be glad you did. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best game ever
I have never played this game, however, I am a quaified video game psychic. For over 24.5 years, I have been reviewing games up to 36 months prior to their release. I have been there shouting the praises of Frogger, six months before it sweept the nation on Atari. Come on, a frog crossing the street? Who else had the balls to call that one. I was the foremost voice in the premature celebration of the release of Goldeneye. From all accounts that I can find, I said it was going to be a hit three years before it was made. I normally charge 72.50 per early review, but I am giving you this nugget for free. Buy this game if you have to sell yourself on the corner. IT IS THAT GREAT.

For more of my future pics visit my site at www.thatgamewillbeawesome.com.

Keep on playing. And be sure to check out "Saved By the Bell Masacre" coming in 2006. It is a first person shooter where you can be Screech or Zach. It is going to be awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars MTX: Mototrax
I can't believe the reviews this game is getting! This game is amazing!
Not to mention it has the best music for a game since Tony Hawk's Underground! With the new SLIPKNOT song on it, "Don't Get Too Close".

Oh by the way, amazon.com has wrong information, the new Slipknotcd (Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses) comes out MAY 25, Not April 27! www.RoadRunnerRecords.com if you dont beleive me. Check for yourself.

Outside of Slipknot, some of the featured artists and tracks on MTX: Mototrax are:

A.F.I. - "The Nephilim"
Black Label Society - "Doomsday Jesus"
The Descendents - "Everything Sucks Today"
The Distillers - "Dismantle Me"
Disturbed - "Intoxication"
Dope - "Burn"
Faith No More - "Digging The Grave"
Jet - "Take It Or Leave It"
Metallica - "Motorbreath"
The Misfits - "20 Eyes"
Pennywise - "Now I Know"
The Stooges - "Funhouse"
Thrice - "Artist In The Ambulance"
....and more

also for Slipknot fans, A three-minute Slipknot video will is included in MTX: Mototrax as well as a secret character and bike designed by the band. A special cheat code to unlock the secret character will be placed on the band's upcoming album.

4-0 out of 5 stars Horrible....Don't get this!!!!!
MTX Mototrax is the worst racing game of all time.First of all, the controls are not all that great.I really don't like the gameplay at all.I can't say too much about the xbox live on there.Everytime the host has to change the tracks he has to exit the room and start a new room. There is no lobby you race around until the game starts.I'm going to try to get my money back cause this game sure wasn't worth it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best game that i have ever played!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can drive all cars on game and you can turn the cops off best game ever.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is the worst game ever!!
I played GTA of course and even True Crimes and i have to those games are far better than this piece of junk it's horrible it doesn't even make sense that it you bump into a pole your mission is over you can't even chance someone down, the driving controls are the worse ever for a game it just plain sucks don't even rent it!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars beautiful game with extremely difficult gameplay
this game has excellent graphics and physics, but that doesn't make it any more fun to play the first 30 seconds of a level 30 times because if you miss one turn or clip a tree and have to start over.Even missions that should be easy like following a police car to a crime scene are easily blown by one mistake.I've only played this game to level three and I'm already setting it aside.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever even better than GTA
First this game it totaly better than vice city and san andreas. Plus the driving in driver 3 is much better. No s%%% surelock it says drver 3 on the package. Also the shoting is just as good and better than GTA. In GTA u have to hold to many buttons and u don't even have to aim because it does it for you. Next GTA has to much blood, guts, and gore when Driver 3 dosen't. Plus GTA is racest against all races. And there is no swearing at all in Driver 3 when GTA says all kinds of junk that isn't even worth saying. Next GTA San andreas is to expensive when Driver 3 is going down in price. All in all Driver 3 is more appropeate then GTA and Driver 3 should not even should be rated M. But GTA should be rated A for adult.

I'm very and totaly obssed with Driver 3. Got to go and play more

3-0 out of 5 stars Stop bashing this game, people!
Just so everyone gets a little education, if it wasn't for the Driver series, the GTA series wouldn't be where they are now. Reflections were the innovators of the driving-through-the-city type of games.

Now, stepping away from the education.

I've played all the Driver games. They contain a great storyline, as if it was a detective movie you were playing (kind of like watching Shaft or Lethal Weapon). They're more action than side missions, special jobs, earning money, etc. Driv3r is no different. While the cities aren't as big as GTA: San Andreas, the cities are big enough for you to explore around. The cars handle very well, although sometimes they slide a little too much when you take a sharp turn. Reflections targeted towards realism than just driving around and crashing everything, like in GTA 3, Vice City or San Andreas (you can drive in the opposite lane in any GTA, pass a cop and they just sit there and do nothing, but in Driver the cops go after you). Where Driv3r fully shines is with the Movie Director (a feature that's not in any of the GTA games), in which you can make your own movie out of the game you just finished playing (the GTA series have a camera angle view that makes it look like a movie, but it won't record it in memory). Change camera angles, blur effects, slow motions, are a few of the things you can do. One feature that's not included in the PS2 version is that the XBox version you can sign up on XBox Live and upload your movie so other players online can view it. Driv3r is fun, and it won't compete with the GTA games, but it's entertaining in its own way. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good overall
The first thing I have to say about this game is: This is not a first person shooter. It is a third person shooter like GTA. This game can get boring a little fast, but it has some cool features: Two different types of multiplayer; one you can go against a friend and you would each have a squadron and the other is just a head-to-head match. Each character has a special ability. Tex can take out two weapons, Flint has a auto aim, Brutus has this weird heat-sensing thing and Hawk has a stealth mode. Each person can only take two guns. There is also a co-op mode aswell.

3-0 out of 5 stars BRUTE FORCE ISN'T WHAT I HAD EXPECTED
After watching the video for this game, I had been excited for the release of this game. The day it came out, I ran to Toys R' Us to buy it.But it definately wasn't what I had expected. The whole four person squad is a great feature, don't get me wrong. You can instantly switch between a four elite supercommandos, each with their own special ability.Tex is a tough soldier whose specialty is using dual weapons.Brutus, an alien, is the toughest soldier and his special ability is being able to see anything with a special vision that makes enemies stand out in bright orange. He can also charge at opponents and kill them.Flint is a long-range sniper whose speciality is target-locking.Hawk is a small, but tough soldier who can become invisible and sneak up on opponents and slice them with her powerblade. The weapons in this game are pretty cool and the sound is great. But the storyline is kind of boring. Here is how I rate the game:

Overall: 7 / 10
Gamplay: 6 / 10
Graphics: 8 / 10 (the stongpoint of the game)
Storyline: 4 / 10 (very disappointing)
Value: 5 / 10 (Not worth the $50.00 I spent)
Sound: 7 / 10

If the storyline could be a little bit more intriguing, this game would definately be 4 stars. But even with a better story, this game still wouldn't be great. The third person aspect isn't my favorite. The enemies are strange and not well explained. The sound is decent, but seems like someone accidently forgot to polish them up.The grenades visuals are very good, but the sound is horrid. The weapons have a flat sound to them. But the music during the game is good and the voice acting is great. The missions in the game are very straight forward and they do not really change over the course of the game. They begin to get repetive. Also, the game is set in six different worlds with 18 different missions. But the missions on each world are identical. It seems like somebody didn't even change the layout of them when they progressed to a new mission. This game did not live up to my expectations.

Save your money on this game: just rent it.Don't buy it.This game is fun and the graphics are the core of what keeps you playing; but with the combination of a poor storyline and repetive gameplay make this game not worth buying. This game is ok to rent though.I was very disappointed with Microsoft Game Studios when they realeased this game. The graphics are good, but with the poor storyline, this game is definately not one of my all-time favorites.Save your money: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH BUYING THIS GAME.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice Multiplayer co-op, game falls a little short.
I am always looking for MULTIPLAYER co-op games and so was extremely excited to find this one and it had good reviews. My first reaction to the game was, mixed. The graphics could have been better and the camera angle takes some getting use to, its set just behind the character. But the co-op multiplayer, with up to 4 players was real cool!

There are 4 characters each with a different ability and weaponry to match. You can only pick up guns that fit your characters style. You can swap between them all in battle and give the rest commands to follow.Like I said this is great.

The weapons are boring and are #'s not namesso its hard to tell what they are.I still barely know. The best thing about the game is the squad based fighting and the multiplayer. If it was not for that I would have been seriously disappointed. The missions become repetitive and for some reason you keep going back to this cycle of worlds over and over.

Overall I give it 3 stars because the game is great for multiplayer squad based combat but it falls short in graphics, weapons and enemies and story.

Its pretty cheap to buy used, I would recommend picking it up for around $10.

4-0 out of 5 stars Death Squad
Brute Force is an action shooter for the Xbox. Many people compare this game to Halo, but it's an unfair comparison. Halo is a FPS and Brute force is a third-person squad action game. There's lots of weapons and medkits to use. Brute Force can be compared to the game; Conflict Desert Storm. You'll have control over four characters: Tex- tough guy with big guns, Brutus- a reptilian warrior with self-heal abiltiy, Hawk- a female able to cloak and kill with an energy blade and lastly, Flint- an android with perfect sniping skills. You can issue simple commands, such as hold, cover, move to and fire at will. You can take control of them individually, pair them off or order them as a group. The A.I. just automatically begins to fire when they see enemies, you cannot set the rules of engagement. However the action is excellent and the graphics are beautiful and have lush alien worlds, the sound effects, controls and action are just right. Even though the levels are all linear and a bit repetative. Brute Force is an excellent game, and I wish they make a sequal.

Pros:
+excellent action
+excellent graphics
+excellent sound effects
+excellent music
+excellent level design
+excellent controls
+excellent voice-acting
+lots of weapons

Cons:
-repetative gameplay
-linear levels
-rules of engagement cannot be set

NOTE: There is a book based on this game also called "Brute Force", it is a excellent as the game and suggest you pick it up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Exceptionally good
I loved this game, but the whole thing about the destroying monsters gets repetitive and linear. Also there is is basically NO bosses!Whats up with that.......you think they'd put a little challenge into it!But this rest is awesome! So check it out, Brute Force. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This game ROCKS!
Van Helsing the game is so cool! The movie sucked, but the game is 9,000,000 times better. You fight such classic villians as the Wolfman, Dracula , Mr. Hyde, and more.
Only one problem. The camera angles are difficult to work with. You can't chage them.
All in All, it's a great game!

4-0 out of 5 stars Wow...
...that's my reaction to the Van Helsing game. Many people have criticized it as having a bad camera, not enough acting out of the story (too many cutscenes and such), as well as being repetitive, but they're all nitpicking.
The first time I saw this game I was really looking forward to it.Well, I rented it and after a day or two, I hated it.I'd been playing games like Hitman, which require more strategy and "brain power", so I thought this was stupid, mindless game. However, I didn't realize one thing. This is NOT a "shooter", though most of the weapons are guns. This is an ACTION game, entailing tons of exciting movement, such as jumping and fighting while watching the really cool villains do likewise. In short, you have to be in the right mood to play this, or not expect too much. You may be dissapointed if you think this is another Red Dead Revolver or something.I bought it and had a blast because I knew what kind of game I was playing.
The gameplay has been called repetitive, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's really fun to just lay into your opponents', though some of the weapon' shooting (dual pistols) can become tiresome, despite its propensity for success. You basically have to use your tojos and/or twin scimitars to liven it up with some variety (I recommend tojos against most non-flying creatures and bosses, as it's really fun to tear through your adversaries). There are a fair amount of other weapons, such as the crossbow, shotgun, electric gun, and a few other great weapons I don't want to spoil for you, which all have strength and weaknesses of their own, making each of them a value and a hindrace (realism, folks) to getting through the game. The jumping/grappling onto things is a good bit of variety in the game, and when you have to use them, it adds a bit of reality (ifyou consider some of Van Helsing's jump "realistic") and makes sense with the mission.Last of all, there's a load of great monsters, such as possessed skeletons, giant owls, gargoyles, the main bosses you saw in the mo
