Editorial Review

If 13-year-old Shaun White can ride with the big guys in theprofessional snowboarding circuit, then certainly you can master asnowboarding game simulation. Right? For the first time in the CoolBoarder series, PlayStation owners can challenge the likes of Mr.White and 15 other pro riders who have been digitally re-created forthe game.

Add eight new tricks (such as hand plants in the half pipe) and acomplete build-a-rider mode (which allows you to create your own snowysuperstar), and you've pretty much summed up the major differencesbetween Cool Boarders 3 and Cool Boarders 4. One of thecoolest new effects in the game is that riders now sink into deeppowder instead of skating right over it. A signature of the series isthe ability to throw punches at other riders during races, but playerscan choose to turn that feature off for a cleaner challenge.

Players who were gaga over Cool Boarders 3 will be pleased withthe enhancements in this game. But with gameplay that is essentiallythe same as its predecessor, gamers looking for a unique thrill maywish to carve a turn and look elsewhere. --Jeff Young

Pros:

  • 16 real pro snowboarders, 30 new courses, and nine boardmanufacturers add to realism
  • Customized athletic ability, clothing, and board

Cons:

  • Fourth incarnation of game not exactly fresh

2-0 out of 5 stars Painfully slow.
I bought this game expecting some fast, exciting, off-the-wall snowboarding action. I got quite the opposite. This game is weak, with snail-pace action, little incentive to do all the fancy tricks, and unremarkable graphics. I can tell that they were going for more of a simulation game, but this game is so difficult to control and frustrating that you are not likely to make it far before shutting off the game.

There are a few pros. The 16 different boarders give you a diverse selection of strengths and weaknesses. I also like the ability to customize your boarder, which can give you the upper hand in a competition. But this doesn't amount to a whole lot. The game is still too slow. When it comes to the tricks, I was just tapping different keys randomly, trusting my luck. It gave up after a while.

I have heard that Cool Boarders 3 was quite good, so maybe I will give that a try. But as for this one, I would pass on it altogether.

5-0 out of 5 stars Some huge air to go along with this game!
This game may seem a little weird at first, but once you've played it for a day or so you tottally love it and get addicted to it.It has plenty of challenge, especially Japan's Big Air, I just barely won it today! The special courses that go along with the events just kick butt and are very interesting and challenging.I would reccommend buying this game if you have the money. It just makes you wanna go out and snowboard!Oh yah, did I mention.... You can also create a character and design your own personall board, or you can choose from numerous characters to proffessianol snowboarders.Later...

I bought this game because I really liked Cool Borders 3.When I started playing I really got turned off.The graphics really stink

4-0 out of 5 stars Wicked Dude
I got this game for Christmas and I loved it. The only problem is it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get Alaska, France and Japan. (personally) I think this is the best game in the Coolboarders series. They should let the tournaments be simpler and the Trickmasters easier.

I gave this game a 4 star but get it and you won't regret getting it. It's a game the family can play. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the worst golf game I've ever played
I have had this game for over five years now and sill have not had the patiants to finish a round. This game is a huge waste of money even to rent. This game is under par in every aspect: the gaphics are barely on par with SNES, they game play is slow and takes an excruciatingly long time to load. The % calculator used for shots is not even close to accurate, wind speed is not even approximated and there is no aid in reading the slope of the green. I recomend buying one of the more reccent releases, this game isn't worth the [money amount] you'll pay for S&H.

1-0 out of 5 stars Old Game
I bought this game thinking it would be up to date technology, and was sorley disappointed. This game is dated 1995, and is extremely OLD. I also play Tiger Woods 2001, so this game is a big step back in time. DON'T BUY. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Ready to go the distance? Then get your gloves on, since this knockoutfighting game boasts a variety of bouts and boxers, and offers four modes of play: versus, exhibition, career, and tournament. Whether you just want to go mano a mano with abuddy, or for the championship, you will need to do more than just randomly punch a fewbuttons to progress to the higher levels. We found the controls for each hook, punch, orblock to be fairly easy to learn. However, to really land some punches, you'll need tomaster an assortment of advanced combo moves.

In the career mode, you must conquer each of 40 challengers to become the world boxingchampion. With each progressive fight, you will build up your strength, speed, andendurance. However, even the best boxers will invariably suffer from a few bangs andbruises. As you slug your way to the top of the career mode, you will unlock severalsecret challengers for the exhibition mode.

Gameplay in Contender can be experienced through numerous camera angles, including a dizzying first-person mode. Be sure to turn up the volume, since you willreceive assistance from your trainer, who screams out helpful tips in the backgroundduring your bout. Further help is given through informative statistics that are spewed outat the end of each round. There are also cool replay options, so you can review eachpunch. --Michael Byer

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is only a Contender for the worst game of the year
I'll cut to the chase here, and this game is awful. You name it, gameplay, graphics, audio....they're all awful. Stay away from this poor excuse for a game

1-0 out of 5 stars Good but frustrating
This game is overall pretty fun but it takes a little time to get used to how to fight most of the people on the game. This wouldn't be a good game for people with little patients. One big drawback is that when you startto get in the upper ranks the opponents are ridiculously better than you, wich goes back to trying to learn how to fight most of the other people onthe game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good game but not "King of the Ring"
This game has good graphics. If you are looking for a brawling, one punch knock out type of game, this is the one. But if you want a realistic boxing game try King of the Ring. It has most of the greatest boxers of the past50 yrs; Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Holyfield, even ButterBean. This is thegame to play when you want a real boxing experience. In the career mode yousculpt the boxer into the fighter you want; fast, strong, or both.

1-0 out of 5 stars my review
the Contender is an ok game, but I wouldn't recomend it.If you want a boxing game, get Knockout Kings. The Contender is more like a fighting game than boxing game.I have played both games and Knockout Kings blowsout the Contender.Knockout Kings actually has real boxers in 3 weightclasses, plus you can create your own boxer and bring him up to the top.

5-0 out of 5 stars Damn Awesome hockey game

5-0 out of 5 stars Intergalactic Basketball
This game is intergalactic two-on-two basketball. It furious and fast paced fun!The only thing that slows the game down is the high learning curve. Most people do not get into it because it takes a while to get a handle on it.It is an older four-player game that even has a management mode. This is truly a great game if you and your friends have the time. The different alien races are creatively done and a lot of fun to play against. This game has brought out the competitive side of me unlike any other game.Playing cooperatively with a friend against the computer opponents is a blast!A friend and I still talk about that time 3 years ('97) ago when there was a second left and the other team was winning and he did this slow motion 3-point shot before the buzzer went off.The rest was gaming history...If you liked this review, don't hesitate to buy this game.It is worth the price! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not even of Bargain quality
The graphics aren't spectacular or anything, and unforetunately neither is the realism. It gets annoying when the AI players hit the 0-2 slider in the dirt 450 feet to dead center after whiffing two straight 96 mph fastablls down the pipe. With the batting perspectives, batting is simply a randomguess of where the ball could end up: simple curves are often more thanenough for the AI pitcher to strike out the side. Keeping this game fromeven breaking into the bargain bin category is the 2-player feature. If ithad been exactly like the one-player, the game would be worth the $... Ispent. However, it slows down dramatically, making it unplayable and takingaway the last possible redeeming quality this game could have. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars more like no star!
This game stinks, the fact that it was ever created or even thought of bafels, perplexes, and flumixes me beyond all utter belief. I, being a superb master of all that is video games have astronomically, and not to mention cosmically come to the rock solid conclusion that this game bothers me and won't allow me to sleep. You wanna talk content, lets talk about graphics, they stink, there might as well not even be graphics. The music is guterally foul and sickining. I mean come on, who in the world has ever heard of the sloppy meat eaters. Maybe I'm retarted but I sure haven't heard of them. If you've ever considered replacing you roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with something else, Razor Scooter would make a fine replacement. Hey it's as cheap as toilet paper, right? I recommend the VHS edition of RODENTZ over this garbage. You know, that movie about the pack of rats that eats people and somehow manages to throw sexuality into it.

4-0 out of 5 stars ok
This game is good but the storyline is not so good. The game play is fine but it does not match up to Tony Hawks Pro Skater. The music is really bad compared to Matt Holfkins Pro BMX game.I mean who would like music that just goes over and over again. The sequel to it is just a little good but this is still worth buying.

2-0 out of 5 stars This game STINKS!
The games graphics are pretty good, but the gameplay is REALLY bad!The music is bad too, I mean, who's heard of "the sloppy meat eaters?"All in all I rate this game a 2 out of 10.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!!
This is a terriffic game for kids 8-12, but may be a bit too easy for older kids, or kids who mastered tony hawk's pro skater, but everyone should at least rent it. From here, Ill break this up into sections----

storyline: preety weird for a x-treme sport game, but still has a point.

graphics: not too bad for playstation, tricks are well defined while they are being preformed. (characters later in the game are really cool.)

sound: good mix of "generic punk," This is one game that you will just want to listen to the music all the way through. It doesn't match the music from tony hawk, but its still cool.

stuff that could be better: well....there could be more regular levels, but the bonus levels kinda make up for that. It would also be a better game if you could upgrade your scooter gear with points or something.

All in all...this game gets an 80%Buy this if you're into x-treme sport video games!

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is great but too short.
I figured someone would come up with the idea to make a scooter game, but Razor Scooter was better than i thought. The game has decent graphics with little slowdown but the thing is it's to short otherwise than that it's a good game. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars OKAY
This game might not be Madden but it sure can compete with it. Yea the only downside in PSX is the graphics and it dosent have a franchise mode, but it has a general manager which almost the same. The game also has a few twiches, like saying cowboys in the home of the houston texans. Also it has updated rosters and stadiums which is kewl, overall the game is alright.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everyone missed a great fishing game.
The best and most entertaining acrade style fishing game I have ever played.

-Seemingly endless levels

-Fully support and best utlitize all the features of the fishing rod controller made by Agetec for playstation. The casting action actually detect how hard you throw the rod to determain how far you cast. You will also need to jerk the rod to set the hook. This is by far in only fishing game on the PS or PS2 that I played used such features.

-Have 2 players VS and cooperative mode.

-As best graphics as the PS1 technology allowed.

-High replay capiblity

I think every missed this great game cause by the time it was released, everyone started playing PS2 games and forgot about PS1.This game has also become a very hard to find item.
If you have more question about this game (even question about how to beat it), don't hestitate to e-mail me.

3-0 out of 5 stars Alright
It not the greatest game ever but it's got pretty good graphics. I liked it because it took me about 5 months to beat and it i'm usually really good at these kind of games. But after you beat it there's hardly anything else to do you can tour but you don't win anything for it. It wasn't a complete waste of money it was fun in the beginning and then got boring.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Tiger Woods game in the series
I have played TW99 and TW2000 and will forthrightly and honestly say that this installment (properly 2001, though not included in the title) is the best of the three, as well as being the best "realistic" golf game for the system.

There are seemingly 2 camps in console golf games: the "fun" camp (Hot Shots Golf, Mario Golf) that emphasizes a certain playability over any serious sim aspects, and the "realism" camp (EA's Tiger Woods, Fox Sports) which attempts to display the game as it is actually played.I enjoy both styles, but the cartoonish qualities of the former can wear thin whereas the latter is always a good choice to fall back on time and again.Your choice may vary, but realize that this definitely falls into the "realism" camp and this may turn out to be slightly "dry" for the youngsters amongst you, or those that prefer a lot of theatrics in their golf gaming.

Why is this installment the preferred edition?Well, for starters it is easily the most gorgeous looking of the three, putting 99 to utter shame graphically, and even upping the ante on the fairly adequate graphics of 2000.The sounds are kept to a quiet minimum (except, for some reason, in the long term PGA Tour mode) which helps set the proper tone. The putting meter has thankfully returned to what most fans of EA Sports' PGA series know & love: the straight line meter. No more circular guesswork, this is just like old times (PGA Tour III on Genesis being my favorite of the 16-bit era.)Also improved from previous versions is the putting. The draw/fade feature that made putting such a foul nightmare in earlier editions now returns to the standard distance shot, thought the quirky "quake-cam" effect is still used to determine putting green hills/valleys.But without the hook/slice factor, this becomes much easier to digest. And I will mention that the ridiculous "Tiger Power" ability (allowing you to alter the direction of the shot mid-flight, as if by telepathy) is thankfully turned off by default.

The game, on the whole, as a result of these intelligent game mechanics changes has seemingly become easier and more user-friendly.Though still a proper challenge will certainly await you. This time around there are 6 courses (up 1 from 2000's 5) along with 8 tour pros (up 3 from 2000's 5.)The animation and sayings are much the same as the previous version, but there was never much wrong with that aspect, so it is forgiveable.

There do seem to be a few less options this time around (they seem to have canned the shootout mode and 4-ball competitions) but they are not missed amidst the lush graphics and control enhancements that make this one a joy to play.It is certainly the pinnacle of "realistic" golf games, and is likely to remain so, as EA will be releasing Tiger Woods 2002 on PS2 only.

Prior to purchasing this title, I had read many poor reviews of this game which had me worried.Yet after spending many hours out on the PS1 links with this title, I am truly dumbfounded as to what is so truly evil about it.Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2001 outdoes not only its previous incarnations, but also outshines all but the best of the "fun" category. The only game I would recommend over this would be Hot Shots Golf 2.

A very fun, very accessible, very pretty golf game that deserves to be played & appreciated.Console gaming old-timers from the Genesis PGA era will be right at home.

1-0 out of 5 stars eeewwwooo! worst golf game ever
Donot buy this game. the outside looks are good but apart from that theplayability of the game su..the AI is ridiculous and laughable. stick to TW 99 if you are a real golf fan. It is a total waste of money.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a terrible game for the money!
I own Tiger Woods 99 and asked my wife to buy this for me for Christmas. I wish I never had. The previous review was correct about the AI taking over and making impossible and unbelievable shots that would never happen. Tiger 99 is 100 times better. Anyone looking to buy a Tiger Woods game should not buy this one. Buy Tiger 99 instead. Very unhappy and hope I can return it after Christmas!

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is lame
This game has not improved since it first came out. When it did, I thought it was pretty good, but could use some improvements like more course choices and a tweaking of graphics. As the newer versions came out, I realized that EA Sports was asleep when they thought they were actually improving it.The only thing that has changed on the new version is that the graphics for the players are crisper. As for everything else, it actually got worse.

You can't even play a tournament of more than one round. The "challenge" is even more ridiculous. The first event is super easy if you have any experience in the game. Then you play against other players in a skins game.No matter how you play, the AI will find some way to make a ridiculous putt or hole one from 200 yards to make sure you can't win anything.I actually shot a 64 on the course and did not win a skin. This means that you cannot advance until you win the skins game.It is frustrating as h....

Anyway, if you want a Tiger Woods game, just buy the first one and play that. That game actually has the "tiger power" option. This game is a complete waste of money.EA dissapoints on this game, unlike them with their other great sports games. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FIFA is the only way to go for Soccer Video Games
I am a huge soccer fan as well as an intently involved athlete in the game.FIFA is for Real.If you have ever seen a Pro Soccer match on TV this is almost exactly like one except you control it.I have become basically a master of this game crushing all oppenants as well as the computer on some of the hardest settings.I recently sold my PS1 in order to gain money for the purchase of a PS2,I sold quite a few PS1 games but this is one that I couldn't let go of.Really an excellent game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Viva Henry.
This is an excellent sports game, with great graphics even in Classic Playstation format.Computer opponents, even at their highest level, often end up in free-for-all, less than realistic scoring barrages- but its still fun.

Head-head play is fantastic.

FIFA 2001 is the best soccer game for the PSX.It has all of the national teams you could want (except Andorra)! It has most of the decent leagues in Europe. It's season game mode is great, because you get the Champions league, UEFA Cup, league, and league cups all in one mode. You can do it all seperately too! There are some drawbacks however.First of all, the game play can be slow, but if you put it on fastest it picks up.Some players aren't as good in the game as they are in real life, but you can always change it.That is the great part of this game you can customise almost anything, from jersey colors to names, to passing skill. The annoucers are awesome, and pretty funny too.The music is the best ever, something most soccer games lack, and because EA Sports rocks they got the licensing to have all the team and player names which makes it so much better than any ISS title. The one major problem is that once you get the hang of it scoring becomes easy (defending never does), and then you always win.Over-all however, FIFA 2001 Rocks, for true soccer fans it is the only game to buy.

Amazon.com Review

Despite the tweaked graphics and artificial intelligence, NCAACollege Football 2001 from EA Sports is the same old college football gameon the PlayStation.

The third incarnation in the series, this game straddles the fence between arealistic simulation and a fast-paced action game. College football fans willhave a blast as it allows them to play as any one of the 140 1-A or 1-AA collegeteams (with as many stadiums) on its way to reaching the coveted Orange Bowl,Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, or one of 17 others.

New this year is Advanced Player Control, or APC, giving players even morecontrol (and subtleties) to the action. This includes controlling any one player(you choose who you'd like to control before the ball is snapped), finding openfield and calling for the ball, and so forth. This gives the player more controlon the field, but doesn't take away from the fun factor.

The game offers up a Practice, Exhibition, and Season modes, and the Dynastymode has been beefed up to allow gamers to review and recruit players at thejunior college and even high school level to enhance their rosters. TheSituation mode is a collection of scenarios for you to battle through, such ascoming back to win a game after a bad quarter or a lousy half. There's also anew mode, dubbed the Bowl Game Playoff mode, which is essentially a do-or-die,go-for-broke game for those who would rather work their way up the ladder, elimination style, toward the National Championship.

Though these additions may sound like a lot has been added to the game thisyear, after a few hundred snaps and a dozen or so games, it really feels likepast NCAA games with a little more flair. If you enjoyed the previous versionsin the series, then no doubt you'll like this one too. It's college pigskin doneright, and there's nothing wrong with that! --Todd Mowatt

Pros:

  • Advanced Player Control adds new subtleties to the action
  • Bowl Game Playoff mode allows players to create elimination-stylecompetitions for the National Championship
Cons:
  • Plays much like prior versions

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is very good.
This is a great game. Whre else could you have UConn be the defending champions? I've now won tha national championship with them 7 years in a row. I've also won tha Heisman Trophy 6 years in a row, and I've gone undefeated 7 years in a row. That shows that u can be any team in this game and still b a champ. You can even win with my favorit team, Army. GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY! But after a while, it gets kind of boring. One of tha best parts in tha game is tha Create A School. U can make any school and even made up ones, with any color uniforms. The only bad part is the limited number of original logos, and the fact that u cant put any logos on tha helmets. It would be so cool if you could make your school's jerseys like Miami's or UCLA's. At least the players are faster than NCAA Football 2000.

3-0 out of 5 stars Overall quality game
NCAA Football 2001 is not a bad game I would give it 3.5 stars. The number of teams available really adds to it's replay value. This game doesn't have that great of graphics compared to the standard that has been set by PS2 games, however they are close to the best thatyou will find on thePSOne.The sound is very good. When your team has made a big play or a score at a key point in the game the crowd will be very loud to the point that it is hard to hear the referee's whistle. If you want a great college football game for PlayStation this is the one to get, just don't get too high of hopes for the graphics.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun for College football fanatics
I played this game for a long, long, time.So why a 3 stars?I have only a PS One I just got and own like three games, so I played 2001.In its favor, the controls are smooth, the strengths and weaknesses of the individual teams are accurately portrayed and show up in gameplay. You can, with limitations, name and create players, and the stadiums, songs, cheers, and field logos will satisfy college football fans need to get "even more" of the teams they love. The game controls are smooth and intuitive, but there is a learning curve to play calling.Which I guess means its pretty deep.In the end, I was taking my hands off the controls for long periods of time, and enjoying the great recruiting and dynasty mode.Definitely the strong point of the game. The weaknesses were, and this ticked me off no end, they got players mixed up!I was trying to name my players by number out of the program, and my middle linebacker was at running back. And there were several other mixups, omissions, and additions. Further, if this happens, there is no way to fix it.None.I tried everything. They restrict you forever, even in dynasty mode from creating numbers that match players in the 2000 season.I guess they do that so you cant just change the team over every year. Then you wouldnt need to buy the next years game.I checked several teams and it seems this was pretty widespread. But don't worry, they get the quarterbacks and skill people right. Its nothing you cant work around, especially if the new star quarterback and you are going to share the same last name anyway. The graphics are PSX, no doubt, and the figures are blockyish. The AI is, well, not to be mistaken for reality. It makes clock management errors and blockers on the sidelines on kickoffs and punts have a habit of stopping and standing in the way of the runners. The single player difficulty is not high, so you can abuse it on offense.Expect high scoring games with your friends. But if you arent a nitpicker, and just want to play a fun football game, this is likely the best you can do on a PSOne, and that's pretty darn good.I'll probably get the next one on the PS2, when the price is right. GO GAMECOCKS!

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm Addicted
This is the best game that I have ever bought. I love the dynasty, I love the controls, and I love the created schools and players, but I especially love the recruiting. You can practice plays, put yourself in tough situations. The other really good thing about the game is the momentum meter, It makes such a big difference in the game but none of the other football games have it. Whenever I play playstation this is the game that I play.buy it ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good Christmas gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gave this game to my teenage cousin and he loved it. So all I can write is what he said:Totally awesome!!!!! Its phat!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars This Game is a waste of $
It was a waste of time, after you hook the fish they dont try to escape, they sit there so you can reel them in.You will quickly get bored with this game.

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is a waste of time ad money
...You cant ride around in a boat and hunt for the fish. And when you do fish, the fish dont fight! it just sits there and lets you pull it in! How bad is that? It is a horrible game.I have learned something, dont trust reveiws. " Al Linder from TNN IN-FISHERMAN as the announcer." Bah Humbug, it is just some old teenager that sounds like he needs help....

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time
I have yet to find a fishing game for Playstation that delivers, and this game was no different.Overall, there are several flaws with this game. The major one being that you only use one button the entire game.Push THE button to cast (you cannot vary the length of a cast), push THE button to reel in the lure, push and hold THE button to land the fish. There is the option of choosing a free fishing mode or tournament style. The tournament is the absolute worst part of the game. Each round lasts 3 lousy minutes....and you cannot increase the time. The only thing that Take2 has done an even remotely good job of is the graphics of the fish...but the novelty of that wares off mighty quickly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
This is a fun game.It isn't one of those things where you go out and have to learn the weather and water conditions and the proper lures for whatever fish. That's what makes it great - you just go out and catch fish.It is great ... . On the minus side the loading time is pretty long and the graphics aren't really the best. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sydney 2000 is the bomb!
I really like this game a lot. My name is Sydney, and that's one reason I bought it. But, it actually turned out to be a pretty cool game. I mean, the graphics aren't all that, but the game is.

Now, don't get me wrong by thinking that the game has it all, 'cause it doesn't. But, it is pretty fun. Although the graphics are bad, some of the sports on it aren't the best sports, and it's not the funnest game. I know you'll love it anyway! I think, by star ratings people give it, you won't wanna buy it, but listen to this review!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great and fun!
You know, I like this game, it's got everything; track, swim, hurdles, skeet shooting, diving, javilin, biking, weight lifting. It has horrible graphics, but fun things. When I ordered it, I played it right away. I just love PS1 and PS2. They are fun and so is Sydney olympics. And best of all, my name is Sydney! I know that is sooooooo cool! So get it, but beware of the graphics he, he, he...

3-0 out of 5 stars It's o.k.
Sidney 2000 isn't the best the best sports game in the world. It is very hard to learn and it barely makes any sense. The graphics are o.k., I would save your money for another game.

5-0 out of 5 stars The COOLEST sports game ever!!
Sydney 2000 is the coolest! What'sthe point of buying a sports game if you have only one sport in the game.Sydney 2000 is the best when it comes to sports.Instead of one sport it has a whole bunch of sports in that one game. The games inside of Sydney 2000 are based with The Olympics. It has events like Jumping hurdles and track and even swimming. This game is worth every penny you pay for.A game that's this great is at a great price. So if I were to describe this game in one word it would be:SUPER

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
I thought this was going to be a good game. Then I realized I just wasted my money. I went out a couple of days later and found International Track & Field 2000. That game is 100 times better. So save your money or buy International Track & Field 2000. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Ok its not like the arcade
However, it is close to it. I bought the game for my boyfriend who spends mass money on the arcade version at the bar with his friends. Therefore, for us it saves some money on occasion because they can play it here at the house and it does not cost 4.50 per player per game and the beer is a lot cheaper as well. Therefore, for us it has been worth it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Golden Tee
Since I never played the arcade version, I have no means for comparison. However this game is fun to play.I must say that the putting is way too easy...(When you can continually sink 43-65 ft shots on the green, there is something wrong). Overall, the controls are fairly easy to learn and the graphics are good.I'd recommend this game to someone who wants to play fun courses and always likes shooting -9 in 18 holes of play.If this isn't you, there are better more/challenging games out there.I'd suggest renting those before investing in this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars great golf
THIS IS WONDERFUL GOLF GAME. ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER PLAYED. IT IS NOT QUITE AS GOOD AS THE ARCADE VERSION BUT IT IS PREETY CLOSE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LIKES VIDEO GOLF

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT GOLF
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GOLF GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED. IT IS NOT QUITE AS GOOD AS THE ARCADE VERSION, BUT IT IS CLOSE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LIKE GOLF. IT IS VERY EASY TO LEARN THE CONTROLS AND THE COURSES ARE CHALENGING BUT NOT SO HARD YOU CAN'T WIN.

1-0 out of 5 stars Golden Tee Golf - Playstation
I am not very happy with this product.I really enjoy the arcade version, but ---- the Playstation version has the same sounds and look but the game play is just not the same.Putting is far too easy and the power for your swing is limited. You don't have the control too blast over the water like the arcade version.I would suggest the older Tiger Woods golf rather than this one or just save your money. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars absolutely wonderful
I can't think of any other WWF game I like more than WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game for the Playstation.Yeah, you only have 8 wrestlers, and yes, you don't have very many options, but this game is so incredibly fast and exciting I can easily look past the few flaws.

Vince McMahon and Jerry "the king" Lawler call the matches, and sometimes they are really funny.Sometimes the game messes up and they repeat the same line two or three times in a row. They gave Vince more things to say than Jerry, but you will hear both of them plenty of times while a match is going on.

The loading time isn't that bad.You have to deal with a lot of loading times, but they aren't very long. They are much shorter than the loading times in future WWF Playstation games.

But damn is it ever fun fighting your opponents in this game. You can deliver combos (which are fun and easy to pull off) and a ton of cool moves. The thing that makes this game so special is that the game company made all the regular moves in this game look EXTREMELY devastating.A simple piledriver looks like the guys head is gonna fly off!An uppercut can send someone WAY up high! The game moves so fast and has so many cool moves to keep you interested I can't help but love the heck out of this game.A must buy!

4-0 out of 5 stars 8 wrestlers, voice overs, and fast paced arcade action
The first wrestling game to grace the Playstation, and it offers arcade-fighting action in and out of the ring. Arcade meaning that you press forward, forward punch to perform a move. There are only eight true to life superstars, Bret Hart, the Undertaker, HBK, Razor Ramon, Doink the Clown, Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna, Lex Luger and one hidden superstar, so you may get bored with frequent matches. There are some incredible animations though, but it does get goofy though, with hit combinations, Lex Lugers arm turning into a mace, Bam Bam Bigelow is capable to light his opponents on fire with a diving head butt and other such odd things. Playstation makes great use of the sound qualities and the game has crystal clear sound and voiceovers from Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler doing commentary. The commentary might get repetitive to most people so the game even has the crowd scream things, boo and chant during the match. There is a Road to Wrestlemania mode for single players, which pits you in singles, two on one and three on one-handicap matches. It can get frustrating and tedious to go through those matches. The two player mode only has a huge battle royal mode in which a tag team together tries to defeat 12 wrestlers which come in one after another. While playing the two player mode can get annoying, because once you beat someone you must wait for the game to load as a new superstar runs out.

2-0 out of 5 stars Same as Supernintendo?
It was even worse then the Supernintendo one becuase atleast the supernintendo one loaded up quicker! It was the same exact thing and I was not impressed at all.Playstation games are suposed to have grpahics and if it is grpahics you want dont go with this game!

4-0 out of 5 stars Wrestlemania is Awesome
This game is SO cool. It's unrealistic but that's what makes it so cool! With eight of the WWF's finest superstars, this is a must buy for only .... Whether you want to send screaming souls at your opponents with theUndertaker, toss your opponent like a rag doll with Yokozuna, or lock youropponent in the sharpshooter with Bret Hart, this game is for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Arcade style with old school WWF Superstars!
This game brings all of the old school acrade fun of the WWF to your Playstation. This is very unrealistic but that makes it fun. Play as HBK, Razor Ramon, Yokozuna, Undertaker, Bret Hart, and more. This is old schoolto the bone and cartoony enough for anyone! ... Read more
