Amazon.com Product Description

It's not very often that a game aims to be fun and realistic while instilling a sense of personal involvement and responsibility. Mary-Kate and Ashley: Winners Circle does that within the theme of horseback riding. Players compete in such equestrian events as dressage, jumping, and cross-country, and learn the basics of caring for a horse. The game offers a practice mode, which lets riders master the controls and explore a course before entering events, and an adventure mode with large forest and island levels where players can play minigames or just simply explore. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Two Thumbs Up
As a young woman who has been showing, training, breeding, and riding horses since a very young age, it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to horsemanship games. When I opened up a Christmas gift to find this game, I inwardly groaned and said, Ewwww. Mary-Kate and Ashley. Later that day, I was glued to the Playstation. My parents had to drag me off of it to go to bed. Needless to say, I was very impressed.
Starting out in the stable, you can customize your own rider and horse, and set out to ride, whether you choose horse trials, three or single day eventing, horseshoe hunting, or a simple trail ride, you can be gaurunteed that you'll have fun. The game focuses around the 3-day-eventing, with progression in levels (you work your way up from beginner's circle to winner's circle) and new course layouts for each level.
A fun aspect of the game is the collection of ribbons you can win while trail riding, which can then be spent like money in the tack shop. While there's no tack in the shop, you can buy clothes for your rider, which (however girly it may seem) is rather fun. You can have a tweed coat for showing your chestnut horse, or a black hunt coat for a white horse. The possibilites are endless.
The trail-riding worlds (island and forest) are both huge, with beautiful scenery and landscapes. Each has several hidden minigames, but you'll probably just find yourself galloping aroung exploring. With the two-player option, you can ride with a friend, which is even more fun. The music that plays in the background for these worlds (also featured in horse trials and horseshoe hunts) is catchy and sugary.
The one thing I didn't like about this game is MK-A's voice overs, like "You're on the wrong trail" or "you missed a checkpoint" during the cross-country course. Can you say ANNOYING? Another thing is that, while caring for your horse, the rider will say stupid things like, when brushing the tail "someone needs to use some conditioner!" or when cleaning out the stall, "it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it." I mean, is it really neccesary?
However, these are not trivial problems and if you love horses, you should definately purchase this game! It's great for those rainy days that you can't go out to the barn. Saddle up and I'll see you on the trails!

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is so cool first time, but is too easy
This game is really cool is ur under 14 and love horses and riding. You can design and name ur own horse, which u can then ride in dressage, x country, jumping free ride. You can win ribbons and trade them for outfits and maps in the shop, and you can feed groom, and generally care for ur horse, to get more points in dressage. The only problem is, it's too easy, and i completed it within a week. Buy it though, coz it's worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN GAME!!
Howdy Horse Lovers! This is a REALLY awesome game! It's fun and it NEVER gets old, although it broke now cuz i played it too much...heehee. but i got it used anyways. im probably going to buy another one cuz THIS GAME ROCKS! i would DEFINITELY have ANY horse lover try it out! (BUY THIS GAME! ITS WORTH THE MONEY!!!)

4-0 out of 5 stars great
I thought the mary-kate and ashely game was great it had alot of action packed thing it was awsome and i mean AWESOME

3-0 out of 5 stars A good horse game
I enjoyed this game a lot. I like how you can create your own horse and compete in Dressage, Cross-Country, and Showjumping. There are a few things I dont think are the greatest. One: The charaters you choose from are UGLY! They say make a charater that looks like you. What, do Mary-Kate and Ashley think everyone is UGLY!?!?!?! I dunno. Two: If you accidently miss a checkpoint, the stupid voices will say 'YOU missed a checkpoint!' It gets SOOOOOOOOOO annoying! Third: In the tack show, I thought they could have done better. They didn't have any saddles, bridles no tack. Only clothes. No duh you can tell its a Mary-Kate and Ashley game.
Everything else, I thought was great. It may seem I hated this game, but i really didn't. Try it out for yourelf! You might like it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best, most real fishing game invented
This game is by far the best most acurate fishing game ever made. It even comes with it's own controller that is used just like a real rod. To cast you must swing you arm to get the lure into the water. The same goes for setting the hook when you get a bite. You must jerk your arm back to set it or the fish will get away.

The best part about this game is that you cannot see the fish in the water. When you are fishing you must look for locations that would produce fish, also you must use your fish findertoo. It's very real, seasons change in real life and they do in the game as well. In real life you must change locations when seasons change so in the game much is the same.

The level of game play can also change. You can fish in free fish mode. This mode lets you enjoy fishing at your own pace, so you can bulid your skills for the Tournament mode. This mode lets you compete with other anglers for the 1st place spot in the championship. You must learn how to fish under all differnt conditions rain, cold weather, windy, and warm.

This game was made for the fisherman by fisherman. Something you do not see when it comes to outdoor games. Usually games are very unreal, leading to disapointing purchase. Not with this game you will begin happy and end happy!!!!

The game also has many kinds of fish not just bass. There is Trout,Blue Gill,Carp,Snakehead,Largemouth Bass,Smallmouth Bass,Spotted Bass,Florida Bass, and others. pick up a copy you will be impressed. But I'm not liable for sore fingers due to extended game play because it will be hard to put down!!!!!! Enjoy, and good fishing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best fishing game ever, when are we getting BassLanding 2
This is the best fishing game ever. My only concern is that agetec has taken so long to bring us Bass Landing 2. We are waiting

5-0 out of 5 stars Hope number 2 is on it's way
I've played about every fishing game possible and this one is the best ever. It definitely is the most addictive game ever. My biggest bass so far is over 14 pounds. I do recomend this game to anyone. I have only two problems with it, I would have liked it if there were more lakes and more tournaments. Exelent

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game made BETTER with the fishing controller
The game is good on it's own, but it's a MUST HAVE for the controller! While this game is not as easy as some fishing games (digital fish finder, and not an underwater view.) the robust tutorial mode will have you out on the lake and catching lunkers in no time. It will help you pick lures and land lunker sized bass in other games as well(Great for picking up the Bass fishing basicsbasics!) In addition, it provides great real-world bass fishing tips, tricks, and training (when to use certain lures, ways to cast, ways to do lure action). There are a variety of lakes to choose from, and a couple of different kinds of fish to catch. The tournaments are very challenging, and completeing them all gives you a special reward.

The fishing controller is what makes this a sweet deal. It's compatible with almost every fishing game out there, and adds to the realism of the game. Sometimes with some games the casting is a little sketchy (I thought I put more oomph in it than that???), but all in all it's a nice piece of hardware that makes a good game better.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!
I bought this game for my 12 year old. He landed a bass the first time he played. This has gotten the whole family playing! At first it is a little overwhelming especially if you try to jump right in without reading the instructions. When you finally do take the time it turns out to be a really fun game. Very realistic. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for PS1
For what it is, a PS1 game it's about as good as it gets on the ageing system. Player models are blocky but the game play is fluid and smooth.

The batting / Pitching interface is incredible. Very pinpoit.

Only gripe I had was pitching. It is really easy to strike batters out ( I mean ridiculously easy ) and starters can go 12 inning before they start to lose something off their pitches.

Other than that, if you keep in mind this is a playstation one game, it should deliver the baseball fix you need if you're still using your original playstation with the LCD screen like I am.

1-0 out of 5 stars >:(
Rosters aren't that great, and it is impossible to hit homeruns with guys that normally hit around 10-15 in real life. It's completely bogus, go for mvp baseball.Barry Bonds is also not in mine, and A-rod is still a Ranger.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Reason
That Barry Bonds is not in is because he is no longer liscensing his likeness through MLBPA.Sort of like Michael Jordan did and Lavar Arrington of the redskins is doing.

4-0 out of 5 stars barry
Barry is not in my game either. However, A-Rod is a yankee.

4-0 out of 5 stars HUH??
IM A HUGE BASEBALL FAN SO THE FIRST THING I DID WHEN I BOUGHT THIS GAME WAS LOOK AT THE ROSTERS. WHAT I MEAN BY HUH?? AS MY TITLE IS THAT BARRY BONDS IS NOT INCLUDED IN MLB 2005 FOR SOME REASON. IF SOMEBODY BUYS THIS GAME PLEASE TELL ME IF BARRY BONDS IS IN YOURS.ALSO, SINCE THIS GAME WASNT TYHAT NEW A-ROD IS STILL A RANGER. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ???????????
How can you still have a ps1 or buy a ps1 game! Buy a gamecube for $100, man how can you live with just a ps1. I have every new system and all that costed me was about $720.

1-0 out of 5 stars STUPID AND USE LESS GAME!
Buying this game for the PlayStation-1 was a complete waste of money. There was no career mode in this version plus no OFF THE BALL CONTROL! The graphics were pathetic, there were no new internationl teams or no new leagues or division. It looked like FIFA 98 for The PC. I strongly advise You that you do not buy or rent this game as you will be throwing away your money. The only reason why I have given it one star is because the PC version is quite good. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST HORSE GAME EVER!
I got this game for my birthday! It is awesome! At the beginning, you buy some horses and race them. When they are finished racing, you can breed them and get a foal!
The whole point in the game is strategy. For around the first month, I never won a race. But I never gave up and still played the game. Now I am a pro!!!!
For anyone who loves horses just like me, will enjoy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gallop Racer is the best!!
Gallop Racer is the best PS1 game I have. In fact, it is practically the only PL1 game I have that is how it is soo great. This game is ok for people who don't like horses for example my 18 year old brother and his friend played it and they really liked it. Probably because the like racing almost anything. Anyway, You get to choose from loads of differant horses between A to Z. My favorite turf horse is Fast Navy and and Clear soul is also pretty good. In dirt my favorite harse is Hell Billy and Sedate Devil. You can race short or long races depending on your horse. Practice mood is when you etheir need to practice or your playing by yourself. You can even choose the horses you want to play against. When you go to Season Mode you can save a baby you have bred and you saved it you can upload it to practice mode. In season mode you play simular to a real Jockey. You have points to buy a horse and enter a race and if you lose you have to pay a certain amount. You can retire and breed your horses and they can have a baby. Or you can sell them and you usually dont get any points. You can verse against you friends and the PL1. You can do Random Mode where the PL1 will choose your horses and the Track.
I would give this game 100 stars if I could.

3-0 out of 5 stars HARD!
This game is fun but REALLY hard to win i only won one race and I've been playing for over a month. You should rent it first so you can see if you like it. Other than that the game is pretty fun and easy to work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gallop Racer
My daughter was always renting this game from the video store and loved it so much that I decided to give it a try. I'm not much of a video game player, but I've got to tell you that this really is an awesome game, especially if you enjoy horses. It has so many different aspects to it that you never get bored! There's a lot to consider and I wish that the manual was just a tad more detailed in a couple of areas. That would be helpful when you are first starting out, but my 9 year old daughter was able to pick right up on the jest of the game, and with some help from me, she is really understanding and learning about the actual training and breeding end of horse-racing. She can race against the computer or against me, or just bet on races when she gets tired of that... The graphics are terrific and you can adjust the weather, the views and pick any number of horses and race tracks. It's so much fun that we don't want to stop playing it to take it back to the video store, so that is why we are buying our own copy... It's fun for ALL!

5-0 out of 5 stars RACING AT IT'S BEST!
If you like horses or being around the race track, then gallop racer should be a must game on your video list. It will put you not only there but right into the racing action itself. It will have you buying, managing & breeding horses. You'll be able to watch the horse races on the sidelines or get into the races as a jockey. A real exciting game that will hook you for hours at a time. The only downfall of this game is the race announcer. Her voice has got to go! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Bowling "Ball"
This game is quite possibly the best bowling game.....EVER!!!!. If you wanna have fun playing a great game....make this game the one you play. You will become addicted to it immediately.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great family game!
I just got this game for my daughter and she loves it.It is the most fun she has had with a game.It is also fun for me and we like playing the game together. This is a great deal for the price and kids seem to have a really good time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bowling game with a comedic twist
I love bowling games, and this is one of the best and most fun I have played. The characters are really well done, and the bowling itself is very realistic. You can play on the 'easy' setting to get used to the controls, but once you get the controls down, this is a great fun bowling game, The graphics are really nice, it's hard to believe it's a PS1 game. I actually play this on my PS2 because I can't find a better PS2 bowling game. There are many different modes, and you can play up to six players in a tournament. All in all a really great game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
this is the best hockey game i've ever played for playstation. even better than all of the new ones, although i havent tried any ps2 games yet. i would recomend buying THIS hockey game for playstation, and not the others. its got good graphics, and really good controls. u can choose from any NHL team.

5-0 out of 5 stars Erik S's Review
NHL Face-Off 2001 is a great game. It seems like you are controlling a real game. You have a good selection of shots and the sound effects are killer. I have to say this the best hockey game on the market.

3-0 out of 5 stars This Years Best PS1 Hockey Game, But That's Not Saying Much.
Hockey titles on the Playstation just aren't too good this year.NHL 2001 by EA Sports was not a good title.989 Studios has finally bested the hockey battle this season, but that's not saying too much.

The good. It's hockey. The gameplay is done very well.Control is excellent, goalies are very realistic, line changes are unique (there's a button to change your forwards, and a different button to change your defensemen).Scoring goals is realistic where if you have a defensive breakdown, you're going to give up goals (you let someone wind a slapshot in the slot and your goalie will most likely get beat). However, great goalies do cover their own with some amazing saves after they give up bad rebounds--whereas lesser goalies will most likely give up a rebound goal with no defensive help. The play-by-play is done well with one of the best in Mike Emerik. There's even Zambonies bewteen periods and the three-stars-of-the-game and introduced when the game ends.

The bad.Well, this game looks terrible. With the exception of the "C" and "A's" on certain jerseys, the players and goalies look underdone and blocky.Player animation is beyond chopy, and the sounds are the worst I've ever heard in a hockey game ("Go Baby, Go"??? And hitting the post sounds pathetic--sounds similiar to a coffee mug being tapped with a spoon).Line changes are unique, but they are done poorly and slow--Every player exiting the ice during play uses the trap door? Not to mention the puck usually goes out of play along with the players going to the bench via the trap door. One of the biggest problems is the sim mode when in season play. You had better turn off injuries or you'll eventually be in trouble. How?You are only allowed 17 players on your roster! There's no "dressing" and "scratching" players for games like in EA's NHL series, you need to sub injured players with players already on other lines. How stupid is that?!?There are so many player missing in this game, it's upsetting. Also, color commentary is poorly done.Darren Pang is one of the best at doing this, but it's just not done well in this game.As for the voice acting?Just try to ignore the public address announcer--the worst I've ever heard next to Faceoff '97.The fighting is terrible in this game (guys who NEVER fight are dropping the gloves on a regular basis.I've gotten in fights against Paul Kariya--what's that all about?).Winning face-offs is a breeze (this game needs EA's NHL '99 feature of kicking out centers from the faceoff spot when a player cheats by tapping the faceoff button too much before the puck is dropped). This game even has those annoying "hot spots".Winning offensive an offensive face-off to your winger in front of the net for a one-timer is almost a sure goal.Too many weak penalties, and that ref needs to be either more detailed or removed (I've tried to hit him with a breakaway pass more than once--DOH).

This game may be the best to play because it's the least annoying. This years PS1 hockey titles are weak.I hope to get my hands on a PS2 soon to try it's hockey titles in hope for a near perfect hockey game.I've tried nearly every hockey game on the market for the PS1.Here's what I've found out so far: Best Gameplay:Faceoff 2001 Best Graphics:NHL 2000 Best Sound:NHL '98-2001 Best PA Announcer:Powerplay '98 Best play-by-play:Faceoff 2001 Best Color Commentary:NHL '98-2000 Best Options:NHL '99 (see above about the faceoffs), NHL 2001

I feel that all hockey games this year were not done too well mainly because the attention went to the PS2.So, with that said, NHL Faceoff 2001 is this years best PS1 hockey game, but that is NOT saying much at all.I still say that the best hockey games are on the Sega Genesis (EA's NHL '97, '98).

2-0 out of 5 stars they can do better
i thought this game was quite bad compared to what 989 usually produces.i have seen much betted games that this out on the market such as fifa 2001, tony hawk pro skater 2.and quite frankley this game was horribble, if you want a good game get nhl 2001

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a hockey game...
Well, quite frankly, the character design, the puck control, and the arenas look exactly the same as they did in NHL Faceoff '99.There are some new features, but nothing far too important.Everytime the puck hits the post, if you're lucky, you'll hear a "It hit the post!".Otherwise, the character design looks like it was rushed, the goaltenders look as bizarre as they ever have, and the commentary has been all the same.

Otherwise, this game is just really fun.You can create some really neat plays.Slapshots, dekes, tip-ins, one-timers, it's all there.

I hope that this version for the PlayStation2 has more effort added to it.Because quite frankly, it isn't really fair to leave out the PSX like that... ... Read more

Editorial Review

Plastic icon Barbie stars in this playful game, which enablesgamers to ride horseback on five different nature trails filled withvarious obstacles. Each trail is peppered with lightweight challenges(such as jumping over an occasional log or stream). There are also afew surprises that you will encounter on the various trails, includingsome mini-arcade games that are triggered by certain events. As youmove through each trail, the game takes an unusual first-personperspective that shows your view from atop the horse. Game environmentsinclude a snowy mountain path, a grassy meadow, and a warm beach. Thepre-rendered animation is fairly smooth and colorful, but controllingthe moves of your horse can be a bit awkward. This game is designed tobe compatible with Sony's dual shock controllers, which allow playersto feel each bump and rumble.

As you might expect from any licensed Barbie game, this title isdesigned to appeal to young girls. While there isplenty of pleasant eye candy for beginning gamers, this game clearlyencourages players to engage in low-stress fun that requires littlehand-eye coordination. Instead, Barbie Race & Ride is more aboutexploration and, in some cases, adventure. The game does rewardpersistent players with access to a much-fabled "secret ranch." Forgamers that want to take a break from the saddle, there is anopportunity to wash and groom your horse in the barn.

Barbie Race & Ride succeeds in offering a friendly, nonviolentexploration environment for beginning gamers. Older brothers, beware! --Brett Atwood

1-0 out of 5 stars Fun...If You Haven't Had Better
I bought this game 4 years ago (in grade three) as an alternative to an older favorite of mine, Barbie Riding Club (which I had outgrown) in the hopes that it would allow more freedom like riding off of the trail, stopping wherever you may please and competing in a more realistic fashion. Once I turned ten, I realized what a mistake it was.

Mattel obviously has no idea what girls who have the ability of playing video games want in them. We are forced to ride chunky, ugly horses with unrealistic animations (horses stretch their necks outwards when jumping rather than flinging them upwards. This makes the obstacle course very hard) in environments that look painted-on and thrown together. Barbie is constantly stopping your ride to make you watch squirrels hop across branches, and there are only two gates to choose from (canter and gallop) I wouldn't have such a problem with this if canter wasn't so slow; it slows down the surrounding area so it's just like riding in slow-mo. The firefly game was very difficult for me when I was young and it took me near forever to figure out that you just open the lid near the firefly and it flies in.

All in all, this game is one of the dusty ones in my collection. I would suggest Mary-Kate and Ashley's Winner's Circle for older girls, and Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue for younger ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars For Barbie Lover's
Choose and name your horse-then:-Five trails to ride in day or night.-Challenging games and puzzles.-Race at beach or in meadow. -Timed competitions.-Jump over streams, logs and obstacles.Solve all levels for surprise at mystery ranch. For Barbie fans only!

1-0 out of 5 stars [bad]
this game was so stupid all you do is jump and say its getting dark better head back to the stable!it got so boring after 1 day
i thought you got to make your horse but no you pick from 4 ugly horses and barbie said theres a hiddin ranch whatever i cant even get past the firefly game!I f you want a game that has good graphics and real horse racing buy Gallop racer

1-0 out of 5 stars worse than falling off a horse
I bought this game and the playstation with my own money. It's a good game, but once you win it, it's horrible! the only hard part is the firefly game. Even my pro cousin can't beat it. I traded it in for the Emperors New Groove game and was GLAD it was gone. Loading was horrible, too. I'd rather have a real horse or fall off my friends horse. Amazon.com Review

As the style of professional wrestling on TV has changed, so have thevideo games. Gone are the days of simple bouts between two men in tights.Wrestling is now a violent soap opera full of plot twists, romance, andintrigue. WWF Smackdown! Just Bring It accordingly contains as much storyas it does action. The game features more than 40 WWF wrestlers who participatein 70 types of matches. Superstars like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, andKurt Angle are joined by characters like Stephanie McMahon, Fred Durst, andTajiri. Special matches include Falls Count Anywhere, Royal Rumble, Last ManStanding, and TLC (Tables, Ladders, Chairs). Plus there are plenty of secretwrestlers, rings, and matches that can be unlocked, adding to the replay value.

Gamers familiar with the controls of the Smackdown series will feel right athome. The game plays largely the same, with some additional moves and finishers. While having familiar and responsive controls is definitely a good thing, thegraphics should not be too familiar on a next-generation system.Unfortunately, the game's character models haven't progressed much from thePlayStation version. However, the improvements in animations and ring entrancesare fantastic.

The biggest flaw in the game is the commentary by Tazz and Michael Cole. Thereare several instances in which the commentary is disjointed and unnatural, andit often fluctuates severely in volume. This is a shame, as the announcers are abig part of pro wrestling's storytelling. Despite this problem, WWFSmackdown! Just Bring It packs more than enough quality gameplay and varietyto thrill any WWF fan. --Raymond M. Padilla

Pros:

  • Classic gameplay with some nice refinements
  • Lots of features to unlock
  • Great multiplayer fun
Cons:
  • Disjointed commentary is distracting and annoying
  • Story mode is limited
  • Unimpressive character models

4-0 out of 5 stars YEAH,ITS O.K.
I like this game alot, though it was never my favorate Wrestling game because i had WWE SmackDown! Shut your Mouth wich is more fun,but there are a few features that newer Wrestling games don`t have like entrances in2 HardCore matches and starting with a Signature weapon(I.E. Triple H with a sledgeHammer,Foley with a fake Head). Here are just a few of the stars in this game:
Albert(Now called A-Train)
Big Show
"Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit
"Y2J"Chris Jericho
"The ONE"Billy Gunn
Crash Holly
Hardcore Holly
Molly Holly(when she was Face, and with Crash and Hardcore)
Eddie Guerrero
Faarooq
Triple H
Dean Melenko
Perry Saturn(one of `The Radicalz along with Malenko,Benoit and E.Guerrero)
Bradshaw(Representing the A.P.A. with Faarooq,Now known as John Bradshaw Layfield(JBL))
ect.
The graphics of the game are alright but the crowd blatently look like pieces of paper watching the match and when u throw an oppenent in the crowd(another feature witch older and newer WWF/WWE games have) they all squash together when you go near them. The sound is repetative when the announcers are broadcasting a match are annoying and hate each otha(Michael Cole and Tazz). The fix up 4 this game is that when entering you are not some one walking down i front of there Titan Tron movie, like they did in SD! 1,u now get 2 see your oppenents enter the ring. The great thing about this game are the Hints like you can unlock Tajiri,Rhyno,Foley,Spike Dudley,Fred Durst(not actually a wrestler in reality but a singer, featured because of Takers famous theme song),Steph McMahon,Shane McMahon,InsurreXtion PPV arena and a new SmackDown! Arena using Rock to beat 15 opponenents in a SK match(4 the SD! arena) OVERALL THIS GAME IS GOOD and on it my favo Wrestler The Rock.
IF YOU SMELLLLLLLL..WHAT THE ROCK..IS..COOKIN`!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars weiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiird
fruity, fruity, fruity.i just have to show a listpros ;choose from stars like jeff hardy ,stonecold, and the rock.ok graphics.cons;you basically have to kill yourself to get out of the hell in a cell.the specials are jacked up.you cant even here the commentaries.thousands more.i played it with my cousin.if you like wwe,get here comes the pain,raw2,or legends of wrestling 2 because it is better and has a better season mode with storylines.

1-0 out of 5 stars THE WORST OF THE SERIES
WELL, THIS GAME AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A PS2 VERSION OF SMACKDOWN 2. AND THIS GAME AIN'T EVEN BETTER THAN THAT! THERE'S A LOT OF NEWER WWE WRESTLERS TO CHOOSE FROM, BUT THE GAME IS VERY UNINTERESTING, HAS BAD COMMENTARY DURING MATCHES, AND THE CONTROLS ARE STILL BAD. THIS IS THE WORST OF THE SMACKDOWN SERIES AND THIS WAS THE WWE'S PS2 DEBUT. THE GRAPHICS ARE ALSO PRETTY BAD TOO.

4-0 out of 5 stars 3RD to SEQUALS
If you want the best wrestling game(or 1 of the best game ever)get SMACKDOWN HERE COMES THE PAIN.

This is good nowadays and it beats the other wrestling games on the Gamecube and Xbox.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst of the series.
I was gonna stop at SmackDown! 4, but I thought I'd go ahead and get the rest of the series just so I could have it. The first one on my list was this one. Now, the first few time I played it, I was like, yeah, this is okay. But I as I went on, I started getting bored. Eventually, I just started playing SmackDown! 4 again. Now, the game is okay, but it's not great.

Again, the graphics are better then SmackDown! 2, but worse then SmackDown! 4. There are more then 40 superstars to choose from, less then both of the previously mentioned. Exhibition mode still has alot of matches to choose from. There's still single, tag team, six man tag, handicap, Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, hardcore, falls count anywhere, survival, and special. Special matches include Cage, I Quit, Table, Ladder, TLC, Special Referee, Hell in a Cell, Ironman, 3 Stages of Hell, and Slobber Knocker. The controls aren't very different from SmackDown! 2, so you won't have to much trouble figuring it all out if you've played the second one.

Story mode isn't much better then SmackDown! 2, and is REALLY short. The only good thing is the unlockables, and there's ALOT of those, so it's something to look forward to. Other then that, Story mode is pretty boring.

Create mode is pretty much the same, except for Create a Pay-Per-View not being in. Create a Superstar is quite a big improvement from SmackDown! 2, where you have even more control. There are more types of moves to be assigned this time, and you also have the power to change the default superstars move set. Create a Taunt is still very pointless, and Create a Stable is the same as SmackDown! 2, except you can't assign as many people to one stable.

Theatre mode is actually quite a bit better then SmackDown! 4. You get to watch a behind the scences of how the commercials for SmackDown! 1 and 2 were made. They're pretty funny to.

All in all, SmackDown! 3 is one of the worst of the series. If you have a PS2, I'd recommend buying SmackDown! 4 instead. But if you want to own all of them, this is still a good game. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars If you want to get a fishing game
First point: if you don't want to get a fishing game, don't spend your money on a fishing game. If you find the whole idea of fishing repulsive, and buy a fishing game anyway, that's your own fault.
Now, the game: Gameplay basically goes thusly: you look a looped video of a lake or river, listening to pretty nature sounds, you pick out a rod and a lure or fly, you cast. When the lure sinks, or a fish grabs it, you switch to an underwater view to "play" the fish. The manual tells you exactly how to do this, which is good, because I think it might impossible to figure it out on your own. When the fish gets close, you switch back to pretty-nature-scene view to land it. Repeat.
I like this game for two reasons: one, i am female, and not one to play video games much. All of my male friends are better than me at most games. But I was the first one to figure out how to catch a trout.
Second: The game is really relaxing. Some may consider "relaxing" a synonym for "repetitive" or "boring" but that is entirely up to you. I got into this fishing zone, until they pried the controller out of my hands to play Tekken Tag anyway. But i thought it was pretty good stress relief, anyway.

1-0 out of 5 stars OH WHAT A BAD GAME!
This game is horrible! All you do is sit there and throw out your line and reel it in. Throw out an reel it. Throw it out and reel it in.... you cant reel in a fish either because the always start shaking and get away. I have been stuck at the yamemme trout level forever and not caught a single fish there yet! This game makes the real sport of fishing look horrible. REAL fishermen like me prefer games that you can actually move around in a boat and try to find the fish. This game is horrible. Just do me a favor and don't buy it. Also, don't get action bass either. It is better than this game anyways, at least you can see your lure move under water..... But however if you have to get one of the two, get Action Bass.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Game is the Bomb
THis game is the bast it has great graphics and u get to catch all different kinds of fish!

5-0 out of 5 stars Its Just like reel fishing!!
This is a really really cool game! I just got it recently and spend alot of time playing it. The people who don't like this game don't even play it for 5 mins and assume the entire thing is boring. In one of the levels, you catch a 10 foot marlin. This is a really good game. But don't just listen to me, rent it and try it for yourself.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre game with plenty to do...
I'd give this game a so-so rating of 3 stars. There's plenty of challenge levels, well over 100 different items to get (lures, poles, rigs), and an variety of environments offering a veritable ocean/lake/river full of different fish to catch (Bass, carp, trout, ocean fish, and PREHISTORIC fish!). You even have 3 different aquariums to keep your trophy winning catches in (2 Freshwater:lake and running/river, 1 Saltwater). You can also set the difficulty by turning on/off depth and drag settings. The graphics are nicer than most other fishing games.

HOWEVER...The game play can be very dull and routine at times. Certain hotspots on the screen always generate a nibble, taking some of the challenge/fun out of it. The hardest part of the game is hooking the fish before it steals your bait. Certain fish will have you smashing the controller in frustration. Each aquarium can only hold 5 fish at a time, which then have to be TEDIOUSLY fed and looked after (I've come back to find all fish dead because I forgot to feed them before going on a fishing trip).

One nagging question, you are able to knock on the aquarium tanks, yet the instructions advise against it. Why bother to add this feature at all then?

All in all a good game if you want to fish for more than bass or bluegill, but not a MUST HAVE (like EA Sports Championship Bass). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars tough fishing
the only problem i have with this game is setting the hook it doesn't always show the arrows

3-0 out of 5 stars ok saltwater only game
Bad graphics, great sound, nice underwater graphics, good sound, mind-boggling variety. An OK SALTWATER FISHING game (no Largemouth here but 1000 + pound Marlins are around!).Bottom-line_an ok choice to add to your fishing collection f ya like big/saltwater fish.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
This is a horrible game, I mean it is just down right stupid. The fish are a real pain to catch and the line always snaps on the weakest fish when you are fishing. On top of that the game has the WORST music I have ever heard. The controls are odd and the graphics STINK.The worst part is trying to pick out the right bait to use.The are over 30 kind of bait and only one kind works for each fish.So the whole time you are trying to pick the right bait when the timer is going down.To get new levels you need to beat challenges which are impossible. You get WAY to little time catch a lot of really rare fish.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BUY A BETTER GAME. !GOOD TIMES!

5-0 out of 5 stars Instant love
This is an exalent fishing game. I "caught" on really fast. A tip for the first timers, look for the yellow arrows and press them with the d-pad when reeling the fish in. If you are can't figure out how to set the hook, check the fish info (It also tells you where to find them, with temp and depth. That is also shown on your radar.). Anyways this is an suberb fishing games for game freaks (like me) or real fisherman (also like me).

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible Pin Action!
I've been playing video bowling games ever since Bowling came out for the Atari 2600. Never have I seen a game that has more realistic pin action than Brunswick Circuit Pro Bowlingby THQ for the Playstation. I'm a bowling fanatic so I'm a hard judge on bowling games. The pin action will leave you in awe. I've played hundreds, perhaps thousands, of games, and still see new pin action at times depending on the bowler, ball, and lane that I use. I never tire of playing this game. I only hope that THQ brings an updated version of this to the Playstation 2! ... Read more

Fully licensed by the National Lacrosse League, BlastLacrosse is the first and only lacrosse game for the PlayStation. All nine teams--complete with official uniforms and rosters--from thisindoor lacrosse league are in the game. The gameplay is heavilyinfluenced by the NFL Blitz series, known for its fast-pacedarcade-style action. Teams get hot after scoring three goals in a row, givingthem an advantage until they're shut down. Also similar are thedramatic comebacks and lead changes that are a regular part of thegame.

Players will react strongly to Scott Farrell's commentary. Some willlove his frequent one-liners and comedic timing, while others will hateit. There will be no argument over the game's shoddy graphics, however. The players are extremely blocky and lack detail. The game's controlsare a mixed bag. While running, passing, and checking are fairlysmooth, controlling a player's shot can be challenging.

Technically and aesthetically Blast Lacrosse is an average gameat best. However, it offers the unique experience of a novel sport.Gamers looking for something different will want to consider thistitle. No other game will let you play out your dream of becoming aRochester Knighthawk. --Raymond M. Padilla

  • An original experience
  • Frenetic gameplay
  • Unique commentary

3-0 out of 5 stars its ok
this game is like a 1990 arcade game pretty much.its fun too play with friends and to laugh at, but it [is really bad].The reason i give it 3 stars is cause its the first lax game, and everyone knew it was gonna [be bad].so get it for the winter when you cant actually play lax, and just have some fun with it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Where is the monster mesh with a titan warrior shaft?
Come on this game didn't go big dawg. Do not by this game cause its a fool. First all the lacrosse sticks don't look real. I mean look at the cover who would be able to cradle a ball in taht small of pocket. Also, they should have college teams to cause they are the shizzle. Also, I think they should have made real lax pads made my real companies. Like the shaft saying stx kind of like how they have in tony hawk 3. Take advise from me and stick with nhl 99 or 98 for sega saturn cause this game remind isn't even close to those games

5-0 out of 5 stars BLAST LACROSSE IS AWESOME!!!
THIS GAME IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!WITH HIGH PUMPING ADDITUDE!!!IT HAS SEASON PLAY AND ALL 9 NLL TEAMS!THIS GAME WOULD PROBABLY BEST SUIT A DIE-HARD LACROSSE FAN!!!

SO GET READY FOR SOME MAJOR ACTION!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars BUY IT!...
Alright, I think this game is AWESOME!...It's almost exaxtly like real indoor lacrosse. And i bet ya that if enough are sold, they might do a outdoor one. They could make it a little more realistic though. I mean make it so you can make whatever shot you want. Like a elevator or any kind of crank. Also, some better graficts would be better. But this game is so cool outside of those few little details. Just to say im 14 and have been playing for 4 years, all seasons exept summer.PLEASE BUY THE GAME...

3-0 out of 5 stars Time to Update
Yo this game could be off the chain with all the new gamin technology out.Put some cats on the Blast 2 project for PS2 and you'd have a top-selling game.Lax is growing in the US and the people with Playstation should take advantage of it. Also, they should put more research into the game cause they left out some really important parts of the game, like dodging. This game could have a lot of potential. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars its alright
this game is pretty good. the only thing i dont like is the modes that u fish in. the tournaments ... because u dont really get a chance to fish because its based on a timer and once its up u weight your 3 biggest fish. another bad thing is that u dont get to go where u want in a boat, u just pick a fishing scene and cast. another small con is when your reeling a fish in, it constantly goes back and forth to the underwater view at which u cant reel in and u just have to watch, that really gets old after a while. so does the game. youll like it wen u get it but it gets old and boring.

3-0 out of 5 stars good-easy game
This was a good game, I have seen alot better from the fishing and hunting areas but this was still a good game. This game was challenging yet easy. it was challenging when you got a big fish on and yet it was easy tobeat.there is a few supprises on the way too. If you are a big bassfisherman I would get this if not I would stay away

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It
This game is not worth buying. Rent it first, other fishing games for Playstation are much better. It is annoying with it's continue screen that comes up while your fishing like an arcade game. It's also very strenuouson your finger, when trying to reel a fish in you have to press circle or xabout fifty times instead of being able to hold the button down.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great game play...very short game...too easy to beat...
This game is a great game for everyone to play...angler or not...everyone seems to love the control...best yet...the graphics...great...and the commentary. The only draw back to the game is its lack of depth...very fewplaces to fish...and really easy to finish the game...in about two hours. This is not a game for the serious fishing enthusiast...if you are lookingfor fun...for a bunch of people...this is a really great game! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars We DON"T want more bad games!
This game sucks really bad so bad I can't even believie I am taking the time to write this review. Don't buy it or rent it. Don't play it or look at it and never say Flintstones and bowling in the same sentence again! Or else.

5-0 out of 5 stars b r bowling
ILOVE this game.My favorite lane is the crystal mine. On the easy level I always get a STRIKE on it!!!!But the lava lane stinks!!!!But I actually got a STRIKE on it once!!!But also I fell in the lava 5 times!!!! Otherwise I LOVE the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than most people might expect
My little brother and sister got "The Flintstones Bedrock Bowling" for Christmas, and from the back cover of the game, it didn't look like it would be that fun.But after I started playing it, I found out I was wrong. It's a different kind of bowling game, it's not just your typical stand and bowl and knock all the pins down. You choose from a few of the famous Flintstones characters such as Barney, Pebbles, and even Dino. You then bowl down steep hills and sharp curves, and on the way down to the bottom, you have to try to knock over 10 bowling pins, collect as many gems as you can, and find 3 birds. There are 12 different levels on which you must bowl through everything you can, and on the way, there are also some challenging bonus levels. It's also 2 player, which makes it even better.

Most of the basics are pretty good in "The Flintstones Bedrock Bowling."It has some good backgrounds and graphics, the music and sounds are good enough, and it can be a lot of fun.The control is also good, but it's a little touchy at first, but once you play a few levels you'll be used to it.The only downfall to this game is that it's way too easy. This might make it best for young kids who like bowling or The Flintstones. There are obstacles on each level such as dinosaurs running around, but you can't fall off the edge of the level and even when you fall in a lava pit which would seem deadly, it just takes you back a little bit and you have to do that part over. However, "The Flintstones Bedrock Bowling" is a lot of fun and I recommend it to anybody that likes bowling games. It's a lot better than just about anybody would first expect it to be.

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT A CHALLENGE BUT ITS OKAY
I played this one recently during a visit to my sister in Ft. Lauderdale. The game may not be a challenge to expert gamers but it was fun and different. Do not expect a traditional bowling alley here, it is completelydifferent and more like a racing game. The graphics are OKAY and sure itwill be a collector's item to any Flintstones Fan.My only regret isrelated to the fact that the game has already been released to video storesfor rent and don't know the reason why it was not released for commercialretail yet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot Shots Golf
Hot Shots Golf is a good game for fans of golf who are a bit sick of ultra-realism. Some of you, however, will find the gameplay a little too familiar. Either way, you're not going to be disappointed because I give it a 10

5-0 out of 5 stars Golf on the ps, and fun???Who'd have thunk it?
This game is FABULOUS.A friend of mine was visiting and brought it with him.He finally managed to convince me to play it, and swore I'd like it.I the skeptic that I am, especially involving me enjoying a golf game, highly doubted it.

I am so glad he proved me wrong.I have had this game for 5 years now, and I still enjoy playing it as much now as I ever have. You can play by yourself or with another player or against the computer itself.Even more fun is the ability to unlock other characters in the game after you defeat them.It also forces you to learn how to play with characters that play with left or right hands and whether they have a better long or short game.

The characters are humorous at times. When they mess up, they are hilarious.Their expressions say it all.The makers of this game put a lot of effort into making this game interesting.Great buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent

NBA Live 2001 starts this season with an enhanced atmosphere--new animated bench sequences, reactions, interactions, and celebrations--with all of the pro teams and arenas, including a new outdoor court. For your listening pleasure, this year's model features improved sound effects and commentary by the likes of Bob Elliott. NBA Live 2001's rewards system will unlock bonuses like new hairstyles, shoes, and player features to reward outstanding play. And, if you're missing the styles of retired stars, you still can play many of the game's greatest legends in one-on-one or five-on-five games. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nba live rocks
this game is soooooo good. buy it, buy it now!!!!!!!!!!!! the only thing that is missing is franchise mode but it still rocks the world in all it does! the challenge mode is a bit boring but it is truly rewarding once you you unlock a code. nice graphics too. it is worth the money!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Action-Packed Game, But Needs Changes.
When I purchased NBA Live 2001, I was very satisfied. The game is very simple to play and is full of intense action. The graphics are good and the overall gameplay is magnificent. However, the game does has it's fair share of glitches.First off, it's too easy to win a game.I literally had to create a custom team to play against because the regular teams were too easy to beat.Currently, the custom team that I created is my only real competition2.The game could have included a referee or two, because then, the game would have looked more stuctured and organized.3.The game pauses when a player attempts to argue a disputed foul charged agaist him. This is really irritating, and sometimes, the game totally freezes up as a result of this!4.The game still has the same boring look as it's predecessor.I personally think that the game needs a major face lift, i.e., a different arena, more camera agles, player introductions at the beginning of a game, and a combination of game play and announcing at the same time. These features would have made the game more interesting, but overall, the game is a great buy.It is very fast-paced, the crowd effects are extremely realistic, it has a nice variety of gaming options, includes a dynamic soundtrack, and if you use a vibrating controller with it, you will difiniately be able to feel all of the slam dunking and body banging action!I highly recommend this game to any basketball fanatic!

5-0 out of 5 stars nbalive2001
I've played nbalive2001 a whole bunch of times and i think its better than 2000 because of all the cool things that were added to 2001.I think you people should buy this game and enjoy the fun! I like the game because of the all new features and the chance to go 1 on 1 and 5 on 5

4-0 out of 5 stars STILL FUN!!!!!!!
If you enjoyed NBA Live 2000 you will be happy with this one. But if your expecting a whole lot of changes just keep played 2000, because it basically the same thing. I've organized some the highs and lows:

Highs: 1. One of the most entertaining sports games.2. Great gameplay3. you got a lot of options to choose from. Like practice mode, three-point contest, etc.

Lows:1. Same EXACT gameplay as the one in 20002. Same graphics ( the crowd looks better, though)3. Same lame old boring commentary like its older brother4. the faces look really messed up ( some players have teeth sticking out of their faces on close-ups)

Final verdict: If you don't mind the almost same game as last years then buy it. If you want changes, please don't buy it!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!
If you already spoiled yourself by playing the computer version(optimum speed), PS2 version, Dreamcast NBA 2K1--THEN DONT BUY THIS GAME--YOU'LL BE DISSAPOINTED LIKE ME.I've barely played it once after I paid 40 bucks for it.The options are all there, but the graphics and gameplay will haunt you. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars mom of 1girl & 3 boys
I happened to like this game.It is kind of basic so since I have 4 children under the age of 7 it is easy for them to play.It was bought for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it.She has as much fun picking out the outfits as she does playing the game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Could be better
I thought this game was kind of dull.It is not as cool as the "Manufacturers Review" makes it sound. The only thing you have control over is turning and the outfit you wear. You can't even jump. Even the outfit you wear is limited to around five or six outfits whichdon't mix and match. The way you gain points is by collecting purpletickets. That wouldn't be so bad but there is a limited supply. If youcollect all the tickets you can get the best skates/snowboard but then yourout of tickets and you can't get anything else.It doesn't even help toget "upgraded equipment" with the snowboards because you don't gomuch faster (as if you were going fast to begin with) and you don't needfast skates to win the game.So there is really no point. You supposedlyget a cool prize when you win but all it is is a ten second video thatshows a trophy. This is also the first game I have beaten that has tookonly about 45 minutes to beat. There is no real challange to it.Inconclusion this game is okay to rent but I would rent it before buying itso you know if it is something that you will like. I can almost guaranteethat most people will get bored with it after a few times of beating it. ... Read more
