Not very good
This is not a very good game. The graphics are poor the game play is not very good. The only thing this game has going for it is it is a rumble pack game which is fun. I think they put all of their development money into liscensing the Nascar logo and driver names.

Not Enough
This is a fun game over-all but it is not enough.It needs real tracks and a nice selection of them, realistic damage, and a real selection of cars.

This game is fun, but it isn't enough.It is fun for people who like racing and don't care about how realistic it is, but for people like me it needs more, as in a real selection of cars and a real selection of tracks, but at least the gameplay is fun which is why it gets 3 stars.

A little more NASCAR, please?
When I bought NASCAR CHALLENGE for Game Boy Color, I expected this game to have more tracks then it has, more relistic pitting and damage, and more NASCAR drivers. I guess I wanted too much. I guess I wanted a real NASCAR game. And while I still don't mind graphics ( Game Boys have only 8 bits), I really would like real NASCAR drivers, real tracks, and real damage. Overall, the game is fun by how you have to qualify for the race, and the racing itself is fun. But, to me at least, it could have been beter.

Downright Fun....
I totally disagree with the editorial review.Sure this game has it's shortcomings, but I purchased it for my 5 year old at a discount and decided to try it out.I know I am going to play it more than he does.Another thing, the rumble pack does rumble when you are just driving down the track.It gives off a slight vibration until you speed up then gives off more.Though not for serious gamers, for a child or a child wanna be, this game is cool. ... Not much of a challenge
Test Drive Cycles is one of the easiest racing games I have ever played.In no time at all you can own the best available bike and have it spruced up with all the upgrades you can get.There aren't many bikes to choose from or very many courses to race.In no time you'll have each course memorized and know how to race it- for example when racing in the USA always stay on the right side of the road because we all know that oncoming traffic is on the left.Overall not the most exciting game, not the worse.If you want to race motorcycles, get Road Rash. ... Could have been better
Now I find this game alright except that this game has no challenge to it. Anybody can beat easy mode and the hard mode doesn't take much. Its soundtrack makes your ears bleed (just an exaggeration). This game doesn't have enough tricks available and they can all easily be executed (like the backflip can be done even if you just do a little jump, definitely unreal even by arcade standards). Now I know that the game could have earned at least one more star. I wish that they could have put in some scooter parks and added in some vert. Keep on trying Crave Entertainment, you can make an excellent sequel, I know you can.

GREAT GAME
this game is really fun. you get to race with 8 cars and crash them and go the wrong way. to win the race u should practice turning on the curbs so you don't crash into the side. but its a fun game. a great car game. get it if u like car racing. CRASH!

One of the best GBC racing games out there!
Controls are easy to use and precise, graphics are very good. Instant access to all cars and tracks, no need to "unlock" every g.d. feature by winning every race with the worst vehicle first like so many other racing games. Simple, straight-forward menu interface. Turn it on, hit the "A" button three or four times, and you're driving! Tournament and multi-player modes mean you won't be putting it on the shelf after a couple of weeks. If you want to race on GBC, buy this game!

An excellent game!
This is one of my favorite games.The graphics are great with many differrent cars to race.With hours of great gameplay I suggest this game to anyone!

If you want a great racing game for your Gameboy Color, I highly recommend this one!The view is from above, unlike alot of the current racing games, but the controls are fabulous!It takes a little adjustment to the top-view and you are ready to compete.There are 8 cars to choose from and 9 tracks, you can choose between 3 and 18 lap races, and how many cars to race against.Qualifying is VERY difficult.You must have a PERFECT run to even have a chance of starting higher than eighth, and the races themselves are no picnic, but they are not impossible, just challenging.The realism and great graphics keep you entertained until you master the controls enough to contend.When you hit the little pile-ons, they actually go sailing!The only way I wouldn't recommend this game is if you are considering getting it for a young child, because it is pretty challenging.Any race fan would love this game, it's the best I've seen for this system. ... Good, but gets old
My son, almost age7, loved it for a week or two then got bored. He still goes back to it occasionally, but it doesn't hold his attention like some other games.

Greatest Game For GameBoy Color.
I got this game for Christmas and I love it. It has Six different games each with a different charater. THe whole idea is to help the thornberry's win is awards and you have to help them by beating all six games. ANd if they dont win you can do it the next year, which is just a different skill level. You acn save your game if you dont have time to finish it. Buy this game it is the best!!

Ok for younger kids
I bought this game for my 5 year old as a Christmas present.By New Years, he had it completed.It's a little on the easy side. Now he doesn't play it very much because he has already figured it out.There are some games which took him months to even get through them half way (like Rugrats or Toy Story 2).The only exiting level is where you have to photograph the animals then find the "passageway" to the top of the mountain where the "Yeti" appears.That's the only one he had a little trouble on. ... An exellent challenging racing game!
I beat Top Gear Pocket a number of times and althouhg there aren't ant codes I discovered how to jump start your car in the beginning.

This game ain't too great

Fun, but WAY too easy
When I opened the package and put it into my gameboy color I thought to myself, WOW! now I have a really good game. Of course this was the first game I got. It has pretty good graphics, but the problem is that it dosn't have a point. It is a top to bottem scroling game, where you have to shoot the ememys that come onto your screen. you have one wepon, the machine gun, but they shouldn't call it that because if you hold the fire button down it shoots a little faster than once per second. The only other move you can do is a loop, it will help you dodge one or two enemys at a time, but you can only use the loop 3 times per level. every 2-4 levels there is a boss, a huge bomer, he will shoot 5 bullets at a time at you. I beat this game in about 3 days, and I thought it was to easy, and the ending really [was not very good].

I recomend this game to people who like pointless shoot-em-up games that are easy to beat.

This game should have stayed in the 80's
This is not a good game. It is so simple and i was dissapointed to find it had very little of the elements of a good plane shoot-em up. You don't get any bombs, power-up' are limited, no 2-player option, and easy to kill enemies and bosses. I thought the fact that there were 32 levels was good, but you get unlimited continues, password saves, and the levels are easy enough for a monkey to beat. A dissapointing game. Leave it in the past and on the shelves.

Best Of It's Type!
Its the best of the "shoot 'em up" games. Its one of the best gbc (originaly for nes) games i've ever played! Practicly just because of the power-ups, such as loop-the-loop, allys, air space, (destroys allenimeys on screen when crossed) and others. To make it even better, youlhave 32 missions. If you would like to see how hard it will be and how hardyou should practice, type in plane, plane, bomb, plane in the passwordscreen. Buy this game right now!

Loved this game back in the Arcade
I loved this game when I played it in the arcade all those 8-9 years ago. I love the game while i play it with MAME and the 1942 ROM. And, next to GTA, it's *the* game I have been waiting for since I found out it wascoming out.

If the Game Boy version sticks to the original concept, thisgame will appeal to most anyone. Think Space Invaders, but much moreinvolved. ... Read more
