    Amazon.com Review

LEGO has been around for more than 40 years, and now thecompany is beginning to make its mark in the realm of video games.Building things is synonymous with the LEGO franchise, and buildingyour vehicle with virtual LEGO bricks is quite rewarding and very easyto do in LEGO Racers.

This game allows younger gamers and LEGO fans to construct their owncars, select and customize their own drivers, and then take to one ofthe 25 different tracks in one of four different worlds. Hidden withineach of the different tracks are some power-ups that will superchargeyour car and give it a boost of power that will help you blast your wayto the front of the pack. Finding the power-ups and racing against theother five drivers in this game is half the fun.

One really cool feature allows you to save your driver and car and linkup via the Game Boy Color Game Link cable to battle it out against oneof your pals (provided, of course, that your friend also has a copy ofthe game). If you want to go it alone, the five computer-controlleddrivers in the game will offer up some competition, but not enough forserious racing-game fans. The AI in the game isn't stellar, but, thenagain, younger gamers like to win, and this game delivers an incrediblegaming experience for budding Game Boy Color enthusiasts.

The game's graphics are on par with other Game Boy Color titles and thecontrols are solid. The instructions are easy to read and follow, and,as a result, the gameplay is simple.

Serious gamers who are LEGO fans might want to check this title out,but keep in mind that this is LEGO Racers were talking about, not Test Drive6. --Todd Mowatt

    Pros:

    • An incredible portable gaming experience for budding gamers
    • The combination of building and racing cars makes this game highly replayable
    Cons:
    • Way too easy for experienced gamers

Help the good old boys solve another Hazzard County mystery in The Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home for the Game Boy Color. There are full area maps to help Bo and Luke Duke keep track of the likes of Boss Hogg. The General Lee loves a race, and the variable terrain helps her drop a load of mud on the opposition's windshield. To make sure that the General Lee stays out of Cooter's shop, players should keep an eye on the collision meter. And, to make sure that the Duke boys stay out of the Graybar Hotel (get it?), players can take advantage of several hiding places to elude Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great racing game
The Dukes of Hazzard is one of the best racing games I've played in a while, along with Grand Theft Auto and Driver. With the law chasing you throughout the game, it is a challenging and fun game, with beautiful graphics and fun music.Great buy.

2-0 out of 5 stars OK GAME
My friend had this game already and said it was the best game he had. So I went to Wal-Mart and bought it. In my mind this game is not that fun! Unless you like driv'n around making lots of noise, out running cops and playing levels that are similar to the one you just beat don't get this game. Oh yeah, and if you do decide to buy it what ever you do don't link up with anyone to race. It will erase all of your progress and you can't even race against each other.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't get passed the bow shooting
This is one of the best games that I have ever played. The color is good and the graphics are awesome.Your are Bo and Luke Duke and the law is on your tail almost all the time.Thereare a lot of levels and I only got to the fifth one and you got to look for arrows and shoot stuff like barrels that you can't get passed. In some levels you can be Daisy or Uncle Jesse. You can race other people like Boss Hogg and Cooter. This is fun and awesome game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Manic Racing/Adventure fun on the Gameboy!
What a surprise and a refreshing change...Dukes of Hazzardisfun, challenging, manic and amusing......it is all of that with the same driving buzz of 'driver'and 'Colin McRae' but with a beat em up-adventure race against time puzzle arcade cocktail of beautifully animated cars and colorful interacive isometric backgrounds....this game plays very well .......clever programming and effort which has been infused and then squeezed into this little cartridge to ensure such a convincing and fun experience.... ... 4-0 out of 5 stars This game is awesome and really fun!!
To anybody who is a racing fan,I totally recommend this game! It's so much fun to race as the original Disney characters against Pete's evil cronies. The game may get hard at times, like when you are trying to find items so you can get a special item, but sometimes what depends where you find items is how many races you've won.I've noticed that this game is not one of those games that you can finish in 2 hours, but it is a game that goes on forever because even if you defeat Pete in each world and at the very end,you still can go back and race all the tracks over and over again. Also,if you come in contact with Pete's cronies, you lose 1 dollar each time, which is really not fair at times, because you might need one more dollar to get a special item.So if you are a racing game fan,and you like to play as original Disney characters, then I totally recommend this game to you.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Best
I got this game and loved it. My 5 year old brother was not in school and he tryied the game.Somehow my brother won me 9974 dollers. In the game you get dollers. You can be Micky,Minnie,Daiy,Donled,Goofy and ploto. You meet Chip and Dail and many other characters you know.Peet is the main problem. You race a lot .If you upgrade your car. Each car turns into a boat. I love this game . Itgets harder as you go.Buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice!
This game is very fun, even though I am not a very good racer. I would definitely recommend this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun but a Lil complicated
if ur a racing fan u will like this game but in between each racing game u have to solve a puzzle and if u want to go to the next level and make ur car better u have to win money and it takes a while to get it done.ive been playing this game for about two years and sooner or later ur going to lose intrest and ur gonna have to have tons of patience:(:(

    I hope this helped u:)

4-0 out of 5 stars THIS GAME IS TOUGH
This game is defanitly not recomended if you aren't a racing fan. If you are. you'll probably like the first part of the game, the racing part. But once you get in first place in every race you will have to beat all these hard puzzles with Pluto to get to the next racing level. The puzzles were way to hard. I wish you could just skip them. Other then that this game is just fine. You can buy new cars with money you earn from the races. All the puzzles are what kept me from giving it five stars ... Read more

I purchased this game for my son last Christmas (age 5).This game is a favorite of his.He really enjoys the car racing with all of Mickeys friends. The graphics are great, the cars are easy to recognize. The track continually gets harder withramps, water and secret short cuts, with each level. My son, when playing this game will usually sit for 45 min. to an hour."Disney" did it again, GREAT game and age appropriate.Your young children will enjoy this game.Watch out for Minnie she likes to win!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than expected!
Fun, interesting courses or 'cities'. I like the fact that each character Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Daisy all have different difficulties. Picking up items to throw is a big bonus..if you like Super Mario cart you'll like this game for Gameboy. Only complaint, once you start a saved game with a character, you can't change them later in the other courses.

5-0 out of 5 stars Even grownups can play and win sometimes
It was a very good idea to borrow the hanna barbera characters to a racing videogame. Each competitor has its own "personality". The game is somewhat easy to play, and is a hit with the younger. It is darn fun to bomb, fire or freeze the car running ahead. Older teens will possibly enjoy more realistic racing games, but for those 6 to 12 years old I can't think of a better racing game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Let the races begin!
This is a game that will appeal to kids, racing fans and to the twentysomethings (like me) that grew up with the show. Keep in mind though, it's a straightforward racing game. There's no finding hidden items or shortcuts. You just hit the gas as soon as the light turns green and try to blow up anyone who's in your way.The action is fast and you have to pick up items to "cheat" your way though the race. If you remember the show you know they all did it, even the good guys! You get to use speed boosts, rockets and shields as well as other items PLUS have to avoid oil slicks and the like. It gets pretty intense. The graphics are sharp and crisp setting a new standard for the GBC.I was really impressed. The sound however gets a bit too repetive and I think they really needed to include Mutley's trademarked laugh. It's the ONE real flaw I see with this game. Most of the characters from the show are present and even if you don't remember them all they're each fun to play. Pick up this game if you want non-stop straight forward racing at it's finest!

4-0 out of 5 stars Wacky Races-Mario Kart on the GO!
If you've ever played Mario Kart for the N64 or Super Nintendo, you've played Wacky Races.Although there are no battle stages in Wacky Races, there still are plenty of power-ups and different abilities for each car. This game is great for all you Mario Kart fans, because you can just pack up this game and go on the road with it.Unlike many Game Boy Color racing games, this is from a 1st person perspective, not an overhead one like in Star Wars Episode 1 Racer for Game Boy Color. The power-ups include ice rockets, fire rockets, lightning bolts, speed boosters, etc.The tracks are varied with jumps and set in different places across the US like Alaska and Hawaii! The only downside is that there's no battery-packed save, and it's a pain having to remember the password.I just wrote it on the back of the game pack, but I still have to type it in every time. This game is still worth the [money], and you'll be glad you bought it!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars About Wacky Races.
Wacky Races gets a bit boring after a while.2racers are missing, they are Professer Pat Pending and a farmer with his pet bear in a tractor like car. There should be some shortcuts and more traps, but overall the game is okay.

5-0 out of 5 stars Let the Races begin!
This is a game that will appeal to kids and to the twentysomethings (like me) that grew up with the show. It's a straightforward racing game.Morelike Beetle Adventure Racing (for the N64) than Diddy Kong racing.Theaction is fast and you have to pick up items to "cheat" your waythough the race.If you remember the show you know they all did it, eventhe good guys! You get to use speed boosts, rockets and shields as well asother items PLUS have to avoid oil slicks and the like. The graphics arereally geourous on the GBC.The sound however get's a bit too repetive andI think they really needed to include Mutley trademarked laugh. It's theONE real flaw I see with this game. Most of the characters from the showare present and even if you don't remember them all they're each fun toplay.Pick up this game if you want non-stop straight forward racing atit's finest! ... The game so very fun! I got this game from my cousin, since he is in college. He loved this game when he was little, so I tried it. The graffics were not the greatest and the races are not very long but you can race many different tracks. ( At least 10 ) You can race as many things. ( Tank, race car, monster truck, ex. ) The race are very cool. Example, You can race on a desktop. Objects you can run into are notebooks, pencils, and much more. If you love to race but don't have much time to do it, this is the game for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool
I'm 13, so when I first saw this game I thought, "Hot Wheels? This has gotta be a kids game." And to be perfectly honest...for a serious gamer, this IS kids stuff. But if your like me and don't play games all that much...this game is perfect. It is pretty easy to stay on the coarse because there are bumpers around you. But then there are the jumps where you'll explode if you don't land right. I recomend this game to smaller kids or people who aren't serious about games and just want to have some fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars very simple and good for small children
I had expected that the game would entail lots of racing over many surfaces but it was just a hot wheels car on a hot wheels track. The trackis set up in several different places around a home. My son is five yearsold and really enjoys this game. It is the type of game where you can just"floor it" and keep going. If you want to do really well it takesadditional skill to spin, brake, flip or swerve the car for extra points. But my son just likes racing the car as fast as it can go. He rarelynotices what place he came in. This is not like the video arcade game"Cruisin' USA" where he cannot stay on the track for more than afew seconds at a time. (not that he tries very hard not to hit the trees, etc.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Coolest Game EVER!

2-0 out of 5 stars Jeremy McGrath supercross world, only 2 stars award
This game on the game boy color isn't so cool as the producers said. You only can choose about 6 riders. Kevin Windham, Greg Albertyn, John Downd, Jimmy Button, Travis Pastrana and Jeremy McGrath. Its to bad you first have to race 80cc, then 125cc and then 250cc. The 250 bikes have to much speed and the brakes doesn't worck always. The 80cc is way to slow. The 125cc is not to slow but you can't really puch in moments you need and like I said before, the 250 have to much speed. You can always save the game if you have paswords. The tracks aren't build logic. To many corns, and not enough jumps + you have to win the 80cc, then the 125cc and afther that, you must win the 250cc before you can race with McGrath himself. You can't really see who is who, I mean, you can't see who is Jimmy Button, and who is Jeremy McGrath.
I just wanted to say 1 thing is pretty cool.
If you have won, you can ride with a 250 bike on a bonus track.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad
THE game has really bad graphics and some of the tracks are hard.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nothing Special
This motercross game lacks one of the best part or motercross, tricks. I really wanted to perform all the moves that Jeremy McGragh can. But all there really is, is the race aspect of motercross. You can perform 1 trick when you go over a jump, which happens so fast and unregonisable that it's not worth it. There are lots of courses and 3 classes of bike, 80, 125, and 250cc. But they can be completed without much trouble and replay value is poor. The graphics are another thing, this is supposed to be a Gameboy Color only game, meaning better graphics, but i didn't see anything special. There are better racing games available. ... Read more

THIS, ON THE OTHER HAND, IS WAY TOO EASY AND TOTALLY UNREALISIC!!! 2, EACH OF THE CARS HANLES THE SAME!!!! I'VE DRIVEN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM AND I CAN HARDLY TELL A DIFFERENCE!3 IT'S WAY TOO BABYISH! IF YOU'RE AS OLD AS ME (14) YOU'LL FIND 100% OF THIS STINKY [stuff] 999% WAY TOO BABYISH!!! THE MUSIC ISBABYISH, THE SETTINGS ARE BABYISH, THE TEXT (for example: "pick a track")IS BABYISH(in all my other racing games, it s says "select a track",which is way more mature than "pick a track") THE GRAPHICS ARE BABYISH, THIS WHOLE GAME IS BABYISH!!! GIVING THIS GAME 1 STAR IS BEINGWAY TOO GENEROUS. HECK, I THINK THAT EVEN GIVING IT NEGATIVE 1,000,000 STARS IS BEING TOO GENEROUS.

2-0 out of 5 stars This inner tube is definitely popped!!!
It's Toobin' on the GBC, but was it good? Not really. The concept was the same, tube down a river, try NOT to pop your inner tube, same deal, but the graphics were not as good. At least the music was spot on. but I really didn't care much for the gameplay. Anyway, if you want Toobin' get the Midway Arcade Treasures, but, don't look here.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as NES version
Toobin' for the Gameboy pales in comparison to the version that was released years earlier for the basic Nintendo system, believe it or not.

The graphics in that version were better, but more importantly, the controls were better. It's nearly impossible to control this version, which is very frustrating in a game that's all about steering and throwing things.

It would be nice if someone would release a good version of Toobin' for Gameboy Advance; but this isn't it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun for a little while
I love racing games but am a little disappointed with this one. It was fun for the first 10 minutes but soon got both boring and aggervating after that. Maybe I just ..., but it's easier to simply pass the other bikers than to try to hit them. Trying to hit them always slows me down. The graphics are pretty good, and overall it really is a fun game, but you're go so fast that it's hard not to crash into things a lot, and then when you're running back to your bike, sometimes people run you over and you find yourself cussing at little video game men. So if you're a person (like me) who gets ticked enough to just about smash the Gameboy against the wall, then this isn't the game for you. Also, it's not really that big of a deal, but it ... how you have to enter a password to get to where you last finished, because the game doesn't save that sort of thing for you. But overall, this is an okay game.

5-0 out of 5 stars kicken game!!
This is the best game ever invented for gameboy.its fun, exiting and there are many different aspects to it like fighting racing and crashing and dont forget getting pulled over by the cops thats the worst!! its cool because in the bike shop there are tons of different bikes to buy if you have enough money.you earn money by winning or placing highly in races. There are also many tracks to choose from like alaska, arizona, and hawaii just to name a few.this is an awsome game you wont be disapointed!!

5-0 out of 5 stars rampaging racing
wow!!! road rash for gameboy is incredible. much better than the genesis version. nintendo did a great job getting all that on to a small screen. the scenery, the fighting, the driving is great. i can't forget the crashing, even if it's yourself. pick this up, you won't find a better racing combat game for gameboy yet. i can't forget the cop chases either. that's cool also.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rule The Road Day Or Night !
Are you tired of getting cut off in traffic? Did someone just steal your parking spot at the mega-mall? Stuck behind someone going 35 mph with their blinker on for 5 miles? Well here is your salvation brother! Plug in Road Rash and Get some "get back!"

Road Rash for the Game Boy has alot of the feel and excitement of the Genesis originial that made it such a hit. The gameplay is fast and exciting. The link feature expands the fun and gives you a chance to show everyone at the office "who's da man". This game has a great replay value and just might save both your sanity and your insurance rates.

If I had to find fault with this game I would have to assign it the same faults as the originial and say that some aspects are just hard for no reason. I highly recommend this game for anyone, both kids and adults. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars MMV3 (Estimated)
Before you read this I must point out what I meant by "estimated". Well, I haven't seen the game in real life, so i'm basing it on the pictures, reiviews and the other Micro Machines games.

The music, i'm told, is bad on this gameboy game, but how bad could it be? After the other Micro Machines gameboy games, it couldn't be bad. I could imagine it being worse then the Micro Machines Twin Turbo music, but not enough to make it bad. (That is unless they try to make it like the other MMV3 and failed horribly, in which case it would make it seem like they didn't put a lot of work into it at all.)

The graphics are good, but they could've been better if they hadn't just tried to copy the origional MMV3. And it IS 3D. It's just that some objects are too small to be shown 3D, but you can tell by the taller objects that there meant to be. But at least the different colours on the cars are positioned well, and that each character has its own colours.

The biggest problem is the multiple players, for this game dosent support the game link, and 2 people have to play on the same gameboy via split controller. (The 2 on 1.) And if you really want to play using 2 gameboys you may as well both get Micro Machines 2 and play on that instead.

One thing, shown in the pictures is that the pictures are quite pale. But I think that isn't the game's fault. And even if it is, you can use gameboy magnifyers and worm lights to solve it.

Another thing is that sometimesyou can't see the track because of the colour of the table, but remember that gameboys are meant to be held close to your face, and in so you can see the seperate pixels. If there isn't a track in the screen then you just have to use your guiding skills and your brain. Experience on that track will barely help you get back.

Like its older brothers, it isn't splitscreen. Thats one thing that sets it apart from other racing games. And some people find it annoying that when youre ahead you can't see more of the track, but I think that was done on purpose so people woudn't go ahead all the time. It just adds more of a challenge, because people like challenges, right?

But all in all, even with its problems, its still a great game, especially as a gameboy collector game. I give it...5 stars!

I'm thinking of buying it soon. But, of course, if I am going to buy it, i'm defently going to buy it from Amazon.com.

Loads of levels to keep you interested withheaps of different vehicles such as 4WD, Dune Buggies, Trikes, Helicopters,Sports Cars, Tanks (you can shoot missiles at other players) and even aMonster Truck bonus level. This game is pretty good. The rumble pack doesn't provide the rumbling sensation that can be found in N64 games with rumble packs it only makes it LOOK like it's rumbling. It's a pretty fun game though and you can competeagainst people without a gameboy connecter by being in separate heats andthen comparing results. ... We got this game when we were 5 and 8. And even for our ages it was too easy. All you really had to do was press one button and didn't have to steer!!!!!!!! It was a complete waste of time and our parents' money. Parents, please do not get this game for your kids. Save your money!!!!!!!!!

rockets:launch these at other racers.much like the acorns

frogs:turn the other racers into frogs for a short time

fireballs:use these to give you a burst of speed.very useful at times

3.PRACTICE!ride the tracks on the time trials to warm you up

to WDW and really loved the trip.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay game, but references to WDW are minimal
Except for the names of each track, there is almost no real reference to Walt Disney World in this game. That's disappointing. But, as a kids' games go, it's pretty good and not too hard for the younger set to pick up. ... Read more
