One more thing...It's waaaaaaay better then the new 2004 edition!!
One of the best things about this edition is that you have virtually complete control over your franchise (including drafts, waivers etc.) While the differences between the 2003 and 2002 editions are minimal at best (if you already have 2002 I wouldn't recommend buying 2003) it is a wonderful game that pays for itself in its endless replay value.

As for the quiz section-you have 10 seconds to read the questions and answer. If you know alot about fishing you'll do fine. I recommend you RENT it first.
This was THE WORST GAME I have ever played.I have played other fising games that had more to give than this game. You can only select your casting location by going left and right (you can't move your cast in closer). To reel the fish in, just press the x button--not very realistic especially when the analog sticks could be used as a reel. You also have to keep turning the analog left or right, depending on which way the fish goes and the tension is too tricky. The game is not intuitive, the lures are not very easy to select, and most of the buttons on the controller are NOT used! The voice was bad, the music cheesy and the tourney took FOREVER.I had to quit after 15 minutes.

Graphics, game play, feel and the overall experience is great in F1 2002. It's like going from the stands into the car! But to understand why I only gave this game 4 stars, we have to go back to 1989 (?) I think, and Formula One by Sega for the Genesis. For F1 fans of the time (and there weren't many in the states) this game had everything, even graphics for period. But the thing I liked the best was I could put my own name in the game, creating a new driver (me) and start out at the bottom (C class on team Sauber). To work your way up to the cream of the crop ("A" class with Williams etc.) you had to win races. When you gained a certain number points in the standings, better teams would lure you away, offering you a chance to race for them in higher classes and better cars. After you won it all in the first season and thought you had the game down, season 2 came along and kicked your arse! When you start season two, the first race, you find that the guy who finished 2nd in the first season really has a chubby on to beat you. Basically, the game difficulty went up a notch after you beat it the first time. EA, PLEASE PLAY THAT OLD SEGA GAME AND BRING BACK THOSE GREAT FEATURES. Anyway, F1 2002 is recomended for hard core and leisure F1 fans alike, with arcade or true simulation modes available. Try running a full race (meaning the actual number of laps in a real race), in full sim mode. You'll be putting band-aids on thumbs for padding to play anything after that. I especially like the fact that FIA rules can be turned on and enforced. One of my favorite and dissapointing moments was winning the Brazilian GP, with full laps on, only to find out I was DQ'd at the end of the race for passing off the track and really didn't win. One last suggestion, FIA rules are not included in the manuel, so you should look at them on-line or at the book store so you fully understand them before you turn them on.

1.Way better soundtrack. Tony Hawk didn't even have any good bands on his first game, then on his 2nd he had 3 good bands and 3 good songs, Papa Roach's "Blood Brothers", Rage Aganist the Machine's "Guerilla Radio" and Powerman 5000's "When World's Collide. Then, on his 3rd game, he had 1 good band, Alien Ant Farm, but picked their bad song, "Wish". Meanwhile, Shaun Palmer has Alien Ant Farm's "Courage" (Their best song), Powerman 5000's "Bombshell", Spineshank's "New Disease" (Which inspired me to but their CD), Papa Roach's "Dead Cell" (Their best song), and Static-X's "This is Not". Point to Shaun. 2.Easy to play. You can almost pull off a 900 just by clicking a button. And you can EASILY create a boarder. 3.He doidn't get greedy and put out 3 games!! 4.You can bonk. Bonk. Bonk. Say "bonk" with me. 5.People have really good A.I. 6.A lot more reasons I don't want to list because I'm tired of typing so now I say goodbye.

I'm not a huge fan of conventional, realistic racing games. I gravitate toward the quirky titles, games that are more arcade-like than realistic or that have wacky, far-flung themes. Of course, having the vehicles handle like actual R/C cars means even the most stable ones are a bit squirrely. This could easily prove frustrating to serious racing fans...but come on, if you're a serious racing fan, what are you doing playing Smash Cars in the first place? Go play GT3 or something. But I prefer this one.
if you loves Re-Volt, go and buy it!

Amazon.com Review Like past installments, Rayman 2: Revolution borrows gameplayelements from a variety of different sources, but they are sourcesworth borrowing from. Several elements from Rayman 2: The GreatEscape have been pilfered, including a similar story line.Revolution has a good combination of beautiful graphics, greatcontrols, and enhanced gameplay. This will astound both hard-coregamers and those new to the hobby. There is enough puzzle solving, lever pulling, item collecting, and platform jumping to keep even themost ardent platform enthusiast busy for quite some time. The pirate Admiral Razorbeard and his army of robots have enslaved theplanet, and it's your job in Revolution to help Rayman searchfor pieces of the Primordial Core and summon Polokus to get rid of therobotic pirates. The levels are even the same as they were in TheGreat Escape, although there have been some slight changes made tothe order in which they appear. Due to the power of the PS2 and thedetail put into reworking the levels for the game, they lookspectacular. Ubi Soft has mixed old-school gameplay with graphicspower, and those ingredients mixed together make this game a must-playfor gamers of all ages. Despite the borrowed elements from The Great Escape,Revolution for the PS2 offers up plenty of new things that willmake the hearts of platform gamers skip a beat, just like when theyfirst played Mario 64 or Crash Bandicoot. It looks likethis time, Rayman will finally get the respect he deserves. --ToddMowatt Pros: Reviews (45)
Many people keep saying that this game isn't any good because it's not as nice looking as Jak & Daxter nor a fun as Spyro or Crash and I would have to agree. One reason for this is that Rayman is not these games, but nonetheless it's a wonderful gaming experience.I know this is a first gen PS2 title and there are tons of better looking games on the market, but I would have to say that I really liked the atmosphere and environments of Rayman. The game was a little slow moving at first but if you have a little patience the intensity of the game will beging to increase as well as the fun factor. It may seem a little childish at times, which to me was fine, but if you need a little more maturity you can always slap GTA3 into your PS2 and get your fix. I gave this game a 4 instead of a 5 for a couple reasons; which seemed minor in the beginning but became very frustrating as the game progressed. The were as follows: 1. The constant loading and then asking you if you want to save was very very annoying, probably the worst I have ever experienced. There are times when you will come out of loading and then go thru a door or down a path and immediately be asked to save or continue and then the game would start to load again.I know this may sound like I'm overreacting, but when you have to go back and forth between areas, this becomes a real pain in the A**... real fast. 2.There is quite a bit of aliasing (jaggies) during the game although it is not overwhelming it is noticeable. 3.The voice acting was subpar and low in volume. There were times when I just couldn't make out what the heck the characters were talking about or what my next mission objective was. Overall this game is a solid experience and ,especially at the new reduced price, a solid PS2 purchase. It may not be the flashiest or most original title on the market, but what it lacks in luster in makes up in spades with consistency.
The orignal on DreamCast was fun, and this port doesn't fall through the cracks.Believe it or not, a bad port can ruin a good game....but RayMan2 for the PS2 holds the magic that the original had.It looks good and it plays good...the part is, anyone can play it.Parents don't need to worry about young kids playing this....it's appropriate for everyone. This game is a great example of 3D Platforming done right...hopefully RayMan3 will be just as good, maybe better!Great game, and makes you anticipate the next one. A must own title, no need to rent this one. ... Read more | |

Amazon.com Review NBA 2K2 features all the teams, rosters, and, most importantly, rulechanges (like the now-legal zone defense) found in the real NBA. Player faceshave been mapped to realistic body types (complete with tattoos), so you canidentify a big man like Shaq or a speedster like Iverson without looking attheir numbers. The game takes full advantage of the graphics-rendering power ofadvanced consoles by including better texturing, lighting effects, facialanimations, and a higher polygon count to make sure all the jukes, spins, jumps, and dunks are as realistic as possible. The audio is also good, particularly theplay-by-play, which is accurate and speedy. The controls are intuitive--even for people used to the Dreamcast--especially inthe area of on-the-fly play calling. You can now use the right analog stickinstead of the digital pad, so you don't have to take your thumb off the maincontrols (left analog stick) to call a new play or change formations. Othercontrols let you quickly and fluidly box out your opponent, spin, shoot, pass, fake, and dunk. There are also eight street-ball courts, and this addition makes for an almostentirely new game. In this respect, it is the equal of the EA Sports NBA Liveseries. But NBA 2K2 surpasses EA's title with its excellent AI. This gameis challenging, satisfying, and fun in both single and multiplayer modes.--Bob Andrews Pros: Reviews (89)
It's rarely unbelievable for a game to increase its success that long BUT when it is that good, YOU WILL have to expect a month or two in order to hit the gamestore shelves! Really the time is fast, but that's the reason with NBA 2K2, with fast-paced gameplay and easy-to-grasp controls where can you find a game this good in any other store? None. I like the graphics, despite the gameplay becoming very easy to learn from and to play; they look so cool, and everything seems realistic, even the player models and faces, it really makes me feel like I'm in heaven! The sound is also amazing, with exciting crowds and slick shoes, and also high flying rim-rattling dunks, it's all inside, so what are you waiting for, go get your copy now!! Overall I like this game, it is simply the best basketball game to date; a lot of people hate these types of games just because they have no gaming taste, but me as a gamer, I love it and it is highly recommended to one of my best friends, Yusef, I give this great game five stars!
You gotta love the Street Ball option. It's fun and a lot more diverse than on NBA Live. All in all, I give this a thumbs up and definately wait for NBA 2K3 to come out because you won't be disappointed. Happy gaming!

Amazon.com Review With March Madness 2002, EA Sports brings its college basketballfranchise to the PlayStation2 for another year. But despite fidelity to thecollege game, the result is more of a thud than a bounce. The problem isn'treally the game itself. The Play Now exhibition and full-scale tournament modesare fine, and the game includes 150 teams all detailed down to players, uniforms, fight songs, cheerleaders, players, stats, and play styles. You evenhave the option of creating your own team with everything from uniforms toplayers. The problem is what's missing compared to the competition and toprevious incarnations of March Madness on the PlayStation. About 150teams, the dynasty mode, and even the season mode are MIA! Why are these keyfeatures missing? Disappointing, to say the least. At least the game plays a decent game of basketball and is true to NCAA rulesand quirks. It shares some problems--the computer crowds the lane too much--anda graphics engine with NBA Live 2002, but at least the previousrebounding problems are fixed. And the game looks great, too, even though mostof the players don't have their real faces like in the NBA version. The audio isalso excellent; the game features roughly 60 distinctive fight songs, and thecrowd roars and quiets down with the action. --Bob Andrews Pros: Reviews (63)

Amazon.com Review Among the new game modes are the Tiger Challenge and Speed Golf. In the TigerChallenge, you compete as Woods against a progression of 17 players--some PGATour players and some original EA Sports characters--to earn cash rewards andthe right to unlock hidden golfers. You can also unlock individual holes onTiger's Dream 18, a course designed by Woods himself. Speed Golf features a fastand furious race to the hole in which you can either compete by yourself orsplit-screen against another player. Money is earned in head-to-head competitionby finishing the hole first, and through bonuses for such things as teeing offfirst and hitting a longer drive than your opponent. Any money earned issubsequently drained from your opponent's total, creating all-out mayhem on thecourse. Other game modes offer stroke, match, and tournament play, skins, scenarios, and practice. Also, Play Now mode offers a helpful tutorial that youmust complete before moving on to further options. Visually, the game's many courses and related elements depict a stunning,near-live experience. From the well-kept fairways and greens of Pebble Beach andthe TPC at Sawgrass to the otherworldly dazzle of Copperhead Canyon, the coursescome alive with rainy mists, murky fogs, and glowing sunsets. Also enhancing theexperience are crashing ocean waves, rippling lakes, swaying tree branches, andeven the occasional live animal should you knock a shot into the trees.--Larry White Pros: Reviews (44)
The announcers are really well done and any golf fan will recognize the voices. There are enough different phrases that they don't repeat too often. The comments are almost always on target and haven't gotten annoying yet. Besides playing normal golf games (stroke, match, and skins) there is speed golf and what are called Scenarios. You can think of scenarios like mini-games for golf. You go out and do things like sand saves, hard putts, play 4 holes, or try to catch someone in match play from 2 back in 5 holes. This is great if you don't feel like playing an entire round, or if you just want a little more after a round. Each round you play, you win money that you use to improve your golfer. After each round, you can use the money to improve the attributes of your golfer. You can improve Power, Approach, Putting, Spin, and others. The game also keeps track of parts of your game like your average score, earnings, the number of eagles you've made, and that kind of thing. On the minus side, the golfer's models don't look much like the real golfers, especially in the face.I have only unlocked 7 so far but some of the guys don't look much like the real golfers.(Who is the guy they modelled for Stuart Appleby?)As far as the menus and interface goes, it is a little confusing to start a game for anything besides the Tiger Challenge.
There are also some great two-to-four-player options. You can play a straight golf game, a skins game or the new speed golf, where you actually have to run from where you hit the ball to where it lands. I think what I like most about this game is its innovative controls. Unlike most golf games where you just press a button a couple of times to swing the club, these controls actually simulate a real swing. You pull back on either analog stick to pull the club back, then press it forward to swing. You can control the distance by how far you pull back on the analog stick. You can also make the ball fade or draw by pulling the stick back at an angle. These controls really set the game apart from the other golf games out there. My only complaint about the game is that while the 2002 version of this game has a lot more courses and options than the 2001 version, the first game had better gameplay. In the 2001 version, you could choose where you wanted to hit the ball, then there would be a meter showing you how far back you had to pull. In this game, it will tell you to swing a certain percentage and leave you to guess how far to pull back. Also, in the first game you could actually see the slope of the green to determine where to aim your putt. In this game you have to rely on a caddy tip that will tell you to aim a certain length right or left or short or long. Not too helpful if you have no way of measuring the distance on the green. These gameplay "improvements" can make for some very frustrating times. Overall, however, this game can be pretty fun. It's even better if you have a friend or two to play against. Sitting around waiting for a computer-controller golfer to play can get boring after awhile.

Amazon.com Review The first thing players will notice is how the graphics represent such atremendous leap beyond previous installments of the series. In general, playersare nicely animated, and there is a good amount of detail to the arenas. However, the individual-player graphics are uneven. While most of the bodies arewell rendered, many of the faces are way off the mark. Virtual ShaquilleO'Neal's face looks nothing like the real Shaq's face, and most of the NBA'slesser names are completely unrecognizable. Some marquee players, like KevinGarnett and Tim Duncan, look fairly authentic. While the PS2 usually plays an intelligent game of basketball, the controls inNBA Live 2001 have a slightly sluggish feel to them and take some gettingused to. Also, EA stripped away both the franchise mode and the NBA challenges(three-point contests, etc.), which had been in previous incarnations of theNBA Live series. There is, however, an excellent one-on-one mode, as well asmany legendary NBA players of the past to play with and against. While NBA Live 2001 doesn't have all we had hoped for in the firstpro-basketball PS2 game, it does have enough game to keep you playing all seasonlong. --Mark Brooks Pros: Reviews (128)

Also, a tip for anyone who plays/will play this game, try searching the chests to find the maps to other continents. While searching, put everything into leadership and then when you eventually get to the 4th continent, find the dragons and with less than 10 dragons you can conquer the first 2 continents easily and you can fly with the triangle button. If you have played this game for a short while and got sick of it, give it another try, if you never played it but are interested, you might want to rent it first.
