1. Is the franchise still proffetable? Sadly I think the no's out number the yes's this time. What we have in the end is kids game based off an adult movie, which is not highly profitable anymore, coming out on a system made for kids at a {small} price! In other words I don't think this title will even sell all it's invantory in stock...I don't even think it will pass the 2,000 units mark. Neglecting all the things this game had going against it in the first place I must also add that the game just simply isn't any fun to play. We've seen better kart games before, the graphics have been better, they've played better, and this game can be beaten in an hour. Now in my XBox review of the game I recommended it because it was one of the few kids games on the system, however the PS2 version is not getting off the hook so easily. Because unlike the XBox the PS2 DOES have plently of kid games for the system, and plently of PSX games too that are much better then this! With the PS2 you have a lot more choices when it comes to kid games then you do with XBox. "Stuart Little 2," "Any of the Disney games," "Yu-Gi-Oh!," and many more! So I recomend that PS2 parents just stick with one of those games and skip this one all together. ... Read more

So I suggest that if you have the $39.99 and you love what your PS2 does for your entertainment center, then your next PS2 investment should be the SharkHub.

Pros: Cons:
Next its the continous seasons. The only way you can play continous seasons in Madden 2002 is in franchise mode.In QB Club 2002 you can play continous seasons which include preseason games. In the season mode you can put Legendary QB's like Jim Kelly, Steve Young, and John Elway back on their original teams and use them in continous seasons without having to worry about them retiring after a few seasons like they would in Madden 2002. Another thing in QB Club 2002 is the stats tracking. You can overtake Walter Paytons rushing record. And actually see that in a special statistics section. The gameplay is also good.Players cut on a dime. And you can juke players using the control pad or the analog stick.Like in the old Tecmo Bowl games. In Madden 2002 players feel like they are ice skating. (momentum) Not the case in QB Club. There are also some great animations. The WR's plant their feet on the sidelines and stretch out for a passes.I haven't seen that in any Madden game.At least not as good. This game may not be better than Madden, but it is a good change up!!! Don't let the lack of a Franchise mode scare you away from this game. There are multiple seasons with different schedules and preseason.Which kind of makes up for the lack of a Franchise mode.At least its not one season and out.Like Maddens season mode. If your an old school gamer.I would advise using the classic QB's in season mode for more excitement. They include names like, Marino, Young, Elway, Kelly, Aikman, and Warren Moon.Of course you have to unlock them first.Thats not a problem though.

Amazon.com Product Description Project Eden has 11 atmospheric, mission-based levels that test your exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival skills. You will descend into highly detailed environments of vast caverns, snakelike passageways, bottomless pits, and alluring dead ends. You can choose up to four characters in squad-based play, switch from first- to third-person view, and control any character at any time. You will also control remotely operated equipment, such as a minirover to reach inaccessible areas, hover cameras for scouting treacherous paths ahead, and gun emplacements to aid you in intense gunfire situations. Play in single-player cooperative mode or with up to four players in split-screen mode. You can replenish power-cell equipment by tapping into still-live energy sources--such as power points, batteries, and old generators--below the city depths. All-new engines offer the latest advances in mapping technologies, character skinning, animation, character morphing, and other dedicated effects. Gameplay is structured via a commanding script that leads the player through a world distorted by its own evolution, where the inhabitants behave with an unnatural and often sinister vigilance. Project Eden is designed by the team that created the original Tomb Raider. Reviews (20)
The advice we have received from the company is in essence "It's not our fault. You'll have to start over from the beginning of the game, or skip levels using cheat codes". How'd this get past quality control?Maybe they just never play-tested it...

Amazon.com Review The graphics are quite good. Although not as flashy asNFL 2K2 orMadden NFL 2002, they atleast offer a great deal of speed. All the animations are performed quickly andwith little of the slowdown that's plagued many a first-time sports gamefranchise. The result is slightly faster-than-normal gameplay that's quiteexhilarating, but makes the game somewhat more difficult to get into. It doesn'thelp that tackles are performed from a bit too far away, and too many tacklersseem capable of stretched out 5-yard leaps. The running game is a bit frustrating at first. Basically, only the best backsin the business can gain even 2 to 3 yards per carry; the rest get stopped inthe backfield by the defense. Passing isn't much more realistic as long bombsare a bit too easy to catch, even in traffic, but that same complaint can beleveled at every football game this year. Primetime's extensive franchise play is as deep as the competition's, butoffers a hard-core NFL fan's attention to detail when it comes to stat andscouting reports. Stats even include such real-life minutiae as a player's40-yard-dash time and how much he can bench press. Combine that with the excellentuse of ESPN's visual style and commentary from Chris "Boomer" Berman and TomJackson, and the game really does look and feel like a Sunday night broadcast. This one is recommendable to true football fans--even if they're already playingwith the competition. --Andrew S. Bub Pros: Reviews (5)
There are very few moves that can be performed on defense. You either knock your guy down, get knocked down or end up locked to the other teams blocker. It seems like players are magnetically attracted to each other. The commentary is poor. There is a lot of repetition, but that is prevalent in all sports games. However, Tom Jackson sounds like he is reading from que cards and having trouble seeing those que cards.Sometimes the commentary is irrelevant to what is going on on the field. This game has some good features, the create a player is good and the TV style presentation is attractive. However these are not enough to save the game.I purchased this game because I have EA sports NCAA football and I wanted something different in a pro football game.Needless to say I should have stuck with Madden or NFL 2k2.Konami is going to have to make some huge improvements before I ever buy another football game that they make.
Not to mention the announcing... Berman does a solid job in my opinion, but unfortunately Tom Jackson sounds choppy and scripted... obviously reading his lines. It may not seem like a big deal first, but after 3 or 4 games of hearing it, you're more than likely to mute the TV like I did. Gameplay is fast and furious and not at all Tecmo-like, as some previews described it as.There is no depth whatsoever to the game, simply drop back and tap the corresponding receiver button... no route-based passing or even the ability to lob or throw a bullet, which leads to constant incomplete passes as defenders zoom to break up ridiciously thrown balls. The running game plays decently, but it becomes quickly frustrating when a defender 10-12 yards away from you flys out of nowhere and makes a spectacular, mind-boggling, not to mention quite unrealisitc tackle... again and again and again. Altogether Primetime 2002 lacks the genuine look and feel of the real game and does nothing but provide complete annoyance to the player.Stick with Madden or NFL2k2.

Amazon.com Review A working knowledge of college playbooks can be very helpful as the sets here are often highly complex. The producers have added a slew of subtle but significant features to simulate the game's nuances as well: a quarterback's accuracy greatly improves when his feet are set; you can totally hide your play-calling by holding down the X button and scrolling through decoy plays; you can anticipate using a spin move on offense by hitting the O button before contact; and you can use the analog sticks (as opposed to the directional buttons) to run with the ball (and in maximum passing mode, you can add zip or a lob touch while also adjusting throws in the air). The graphics--including players, stadiums, the ESPN-style presentation, and game intro--are all top-notch. With 117 Division I-A teams at your disposal, devoted players can play full seasons (complete with rankings and bowl selections) or, in legacy mode, multiple seasons, going so far as recruiting high schoolers and running spring drills. The major drawback here is the no-name announcing team, a flat-out terrible crew offering an endless stream of stupid jokes and poor analysis. But you'll have the sound off and the stereo spinning anyway. --Marc Greilsamer Pros: Cons: Reviews (17)

Onimusha Blade warriors is essentially a Super Smash Brothers/Powerstone style fighting game using the Onimusha Characters. The story is simple, Nabuyaga is back and wants to conquer the world.Samonuska and Jubei return to take him on along with a cast of other characters ranging from monks to snipers to ninjas. However if the idea of playing a hero doesn't appeal to you than you can play as one of the Demons such as Marceles or a simple Zombie Soldier. What seperats this from smash brothers (outside of the darker tone) is that you can build up your characters.By making your characters stronger and adding different weapons and accersories you can essentially customize them to your likeing. The buidlup system is simple yet it is creative enough to make the game fun. However the best part of the game is that a certain Blue Bomber is a hidden cahracter in the game.If you don't understand this reference than play the game and beat it with Samonuske. Overall this is a fun simple game. For some a renter, for some a purchase, but overall a great party game for the PS2.
While some might think of this as a bad thing, I thought it was a brilliant idea. Instead of bouncing around with Yoshi and Link and other cartoon characters, I get to have the fast paced multiplayer fun of the Super Smash Brothers gameplay, but with more rich, robust characters. You get to build up experience and weapons as you go, choosing from a wide range of characters. You can be a young woman, a zombie, a fat old man, or many other characters in between. There are five levels of difficulty, so even if you get through the entire game on easy you still have quite a lot of challenge ahead of you. There is a full tutorial to get you going, and then quick play as well as campaign play. You can even bring your fully developed campaign charcters into multiplay and see how they stack up against your friends! There are nice cut scenes that move the story along, and good graphics in general. I do have to say that I had several issues with the control of the characters. Up lets you jump up to higher levels, but down just lets you squat in place. Other keys seemed very un-intuitive at first. But like all games, the more you play it, the more you get used to what the game requires of you. You can unlock new backgrounds, characters and weapons as you go, and there's a fun variety to work with. This isn't a complex, strategic game like Halo or Splinter Cell, but it definitely is a fun way to blow through a couple of hours of free time with friends. Recommended! ... Read more

Could not even get some games to load up as I tried to enable about 30 codes for a game. So, I went to www.codejunkies.com and looked at their support site, it said that I might have too many codes enabled. After reading this, I was down to about 4 codes.Guess what?It still didn't load up. It got me frustrated and really pissed me off. I should've bought the gameshark instead.I had the gameshark once, all games worked fine with no problems what so ever. With the AR you can't even go update the codes automatically through the network adapter.Always get a error message.Think twice before you get this product.
This PS2 version is no different. It comes preloaded with codes for just about every game you could imagine. It says in the manual that if a game crashes it's because you have too many codes turned on, and they are conflicting with each other. It's just common sense and the codes I've tried all work 100%. The system is upgradeable too, which means you can build your own customized code library based on the games you actually own. And when you buy a new game just visit codejunkies.com and you'll find the codes. You can enter them using your dual shock controller, then AR saves them to its cartridge (which plugs into either memory card slot). Shame the DVD player won't play European movies but I heard that's down to the US PS2's architecture. It's just not designed to play region 2 DVD's.But the good news for anime fans is you can use AR to watch Jap DVD's without any problems. There's also a memory card manager feature that lets you shrink the size of your game saves. Why would you want to do that?Well it frees up more space on your memory cards, a useful feature. All in all this is a great game enhancer, the best on the market, and recommended to any gamer whose ever got stuck in a game (and let's face it, that's most of us!). ... Read more

also included is the amazing snowboarder mode. in this section, you custom create a snowboarder, name him/her, and build a pro snowboarding career up from scratch. i mean from NOTHING. in the beginning, all your skills (yep, stat points!!!) .... it can be a little frustrating the first few contests or free runs as you try to snowboard, but this is just like real life; it takes a while to get the hang of it. each run increases your stats a little. in no time, you'll go from 180's to 720's to, yes, 2880's. that's 8 full spins. you can earn huge amounts of secret gear and buy ten times more. you get fame as well as film deals, sponsorships, passports, nicknames, and eventually an invitation to the x-games. other features include multiplayer (sorry, i haven't played this yet), dozens of short snowboard videos, and a tutorial (very helpful to learn how to spin extra times, etc). snowboarder mode has improved GREATLY since the first game (with the cheesy orange cartoon ski lodge), as has the soundtrack (vandals, powerman 5000, etc). not the best game i've ever played, but certainly realistic, fun, extensive, and the sound (music/sound effects) and graphics are outstanding. ... My first gripe, there is no left Y-Axis or right analog stick. So using this with GTA3 is out of the question, it's a pitty too because that would make this a must have. Next up, the complaints about it having a dead point are right on, but I find the dead point useful because letting go while turning will set it back to center without turning the opposite direction. The last problem I have with this controller, size. If it had maybe half an inch more room between the grip and the body it would be perfect. Keep in mind that this controller is for the budget minded, if you want the best wheel, you'd buy the Logitech Driving Force Wheel ... or the Momo version of that wheel for roughly $250. I'd give this controller a try if you haven't messed with any racing wheels for the Playstation or Playstation 2.
