1. Sound. The best sound effects I've ever heard on a wrestling game. I've played many titles in this genre, including Wrestlemania XIX and Legends of Wrestling II, and Mayhem is superior to both. The crowds roars and jeers, the thuds and slams, go together to make a fantastic atmosphere. Even better is the two man commentary, and it's like you're watching it on TV. 2. The wrestlers. Coming from the late 90's WCW era, this has got some of the biggest superstars in wrestlin history gruped together. Hollywood Hogan (as he was then), Macho Man Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Sting, Bret Hart, Lex Luger, Goldberg, Curt Henning, Scott Steiner, Rick Steiner.....it's a great line-up. I'd say it's the best line-up in any wrestling game until this years Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. There's 50 wrestlers all together. 3. The wrestling itself. Don't expect super-fast gameplay. Don't even expect the pace of the latest wrestling games. Expect the methodical, paced action of late 80's wrestling. It's spot-on. I haven't seen such an accurate representation of the speed of wrestling in any other game. 4. It's for PS1, so it's incredibly cheap now. I picked up a secondhand copy from this very site for a mere £1.99. Two pounds, and to think it used to cost about £34.99 originally. As far as value for money goes, it's a five star purchase. Now the negatives. The graphics are weird and not especially attractive - the crowd is just a flat block of coloured blobs. The weak collision detection means your punches will often miss at point blank range. There's no season mode, you just fight for titles and defend them. The Create A Wrestler mode is so basic you won't be able to make any of your favourite wrestlers not in the game already. You can, however, make a knight in armour... To sum up, WCW Mayhem is not the greatest wrestling game on the market. No matter what console you have, there is atleast two better games avaliable. For the PSX/PS1, WWF Smackdown and Smackdown 2: Just Bring It. For the PS2, four Smackdown games, and three Legends of Wrestling games. For the XBox, WWE Raw & Raw 2, and three Legends of Wrestling games. And for the GameCube, Wrestlemania X8 and XIX, and two Legends of Wrestling games. Nevertheless, I'm still playing Mayhem today and I have both Wrestlmania XIX and Legends of Wrestling II on my shelf. The commentary, the wrestlers avaliable and the accurate pace of real wrestling make this unique and enjoyable. Add to that the fact that it's ridiculously cheap (even if you only played it for one night, you'd still get value for money), and you're looking at a worthwile purchase.
I am not a big fan of the new manner of controlling your wrestler built into this game; it is much less intuitive than older WCW-based wrestling games, and I often find myself able to come up with only a very limited number of moves; still worse, I constantly find myself repeating moves I had no intention of repeating. The announcers do at least have fun with this, talking about move repetition in disparaging terms as it is going on.Their overall banter, though, while quite funny at times becomes repetitive itself after a short while.Even the overexcited shouts of Schiavone declaring a victory in the ring grow stale, as do his constant calls for someone to stop the bloodbath and call for help.I never get tired of the Brain, though; he is always hilarious. I don't think the graphics here are much of an improvement over older games, either. There's really not a lot of difference in audio and visual between WCW Mayhem and earlier WCW games for the Playstation. You can fight backstage now, which is cool, but the graphics are largely unimproved and the gameplay is awkward and sometimes annoying.I would much rather play the older WCW/NOW Thunder than I would WCW Mayhem, when it comes right down to it.

I think the graphics are little lacking but gameplay is good enough to challenge. The controls are a little different from Madden NFL 2k+ but close enough to ease your transition to the college game. Be warned that to save a game it requires 14 blocks on a PSOne memory card so stock up.
We open up usually with the same in conference opponent who has a record of about 1-50 in conference for the last 11 years or so and I watch in utter disbelief on varsity level the other team shut down my running back completely.I mixed the plays up and everything but this perennial loser had players that made the tackle on first contact about 95% of the time. Huh? While my defense missed the first tackle about 65-70% of the time. When a perrennial loser racks up 500 yards passing on you when they have never racked up that many yards passing, you have to question the AI in this game. While I had to basically do the same thing, throwing a halfback screen 40% of the time and my mediocre QB racked up 500 yards as well. And do not get me started on turnovers. My team turned the ball over 7 times! This is just ridiculous. You may have realized I don't take control of my QB during passing because I am impatient and am not willing to put in the time to perfect passing. When my QB decides to throw downfield instead of throwing to the RB on the screen, he is intercepted just about everytime. The FG controls are ridicilous. Too hard. The punt and kickoff bar goes too fast. Almost impossible to get a good kick. Also, my team in real life had a great DL that year and yet we did nopt record one sack while this other team who we have beaten 16 years in a row had about 8-10 sacks (I replayed the first game because I couldn't believe that they would beat me twice in a row). And they didn't beat me twice in a row. But I had to sit through an onsides kick that they recocered (it wouldn't let me call a timeout to change my play) and then watch their last second FG attempt just miss to win the game. Come on, EA! A little realism please! If a guy averages 100 ypg then at least on Vasity level against a perennial loser in real life he should be able to get 100 yards. I'm done

With that said, it does repair scratched discs so that the movie or the music plays without skipping or freezing anymore. It does leave circular scratch marks, which are made by the buffing pads on the machine. As for the 'cleaning' cycle where you have to use a gritty type of solution, it leaves a hazy film which I think is supposed to be hazy as it forms a protective layer from further scratches. Use it if you have a bunch of scratched dvds or cds that are skipping and you want them to be playable again. But, don't expect for them to look brand new again. ... Read more

First of all, there is Bruce Campbell. He, friends, makes this game worth playing with his awesome voice acting, full of hilarious lines. Then, the graphics. The graphics are awesome! See, in Resident Evil, all scenaries are static, no movement. Here at Hail to the King, trees move, the fog moves.. I mean, every single room has movement, so the graphics are way best than average PSOne games. The CGs are awesome, one of the best you can find on PSOne, and Ash looks fine too. There are good varieties of enemies, good variety of scenarios (including fan's favorite ones like the Cabin, the Bridge...) the bosses are cool and the game, even though difficult, is totally possible to beat without GameShark if you train a little.

Here's a short list of games that support the multitap to get you started: With two multitaps plus NBA Live and 8 controllers you can have 8 people playing basketball together!!That can be very fun with the right people. You can build dream teams with everyone playing as their favorite player for a pretty fun battle. Note: You use this for PlayStation/PSOne games whether playing them on the PlayStation/PSOne or PlayStation 2.I'm told it doesn't, however, work with PlayStation 2 games.

Put the memory card in one of the slots, then start your ps with the lid open or no cd in. The memory card will cycle through it's spaces. Once this is done a one will appear to the right. Now open the memory card explorer. Once you're in there Press and hold "Start" now press "L1" & "R1" at the same time. You'll see a small "." appear next to the number. Let go of "L1" & "R1". Now press "L1" or "R1" to cycle through the available spaces. Once you're on the space you want press "Start". Now load your game. Each time you shut off the playstation the memory card should start on the space you selected and you won't need to select a different one until the space is full. FINAL NOTES: make sure if you're using a Game Shart or Code Breaker, that you have enough blocks to store the codes and save your game on the same space. also when you try to cycle throught he bolcks the first time, the card may start doing a weird blinking and then cycle through all of the blocks slowly. No big deal, let it do it's thing and then follow the steps above once more. if you need further help email me mlewis@1boredprogrammer.com
Does anybody know WHEN you're supposed to press start, L1, and R1?Is it at the loading screen, the browser, when the game's already loaded...?

Amazon.com Review Acclaim made an equity investment in the wrestling series, and AnarchyRulz, their second PlayStation title in the Extreme series, is fully loadedwith plenty of features and gameplay modes. Plus, you'll have 34 wrestlers thatyou can select from, including Tommy Dreamer and Super Crazy(note the easy-to-remember names!). Of course, knowledge of the franchise helps immensely. ECW includes a Create-a-Wrestler option that lets the would-be manager have funwith creating fighters. You can even put together your own four-person wrestlingposse, complete with theme songs, personality clashes, and a logo for yourgroup. Anarchy Rulz also comes with the typical wrestling game modes:exhibition, career, and tournament. In terms of the action in the ring, this is where Anarchy Rulz shows itstrue colors. The camera's flutter and movement is very irritating, and thegameplay seems an exact replica of Acclaim's previous WWF titles. The wrestlingaction relies too much on grappling and not enough on the over-the-top actionthat the ECW is famous for. There are very few throws and no high-risk leaps ortakedowns. Crazed ECW fanatics or wrestling lovers should enjoy this game, while all othersmight want to pass. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Features Reviews (20)
In examining the other features available in AR, I will admit that I did enjoy the inclusion of those ECW personalities that didn't appear before in Hardcore Revolution and hence made their debut in this game, from the legendary "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes to the lovable yet laughable "loser" named Mikey Whipwreck. I also liked the various "jobbers" that players can unlock---even the foul-mouthed Trainer, who (for some reason I as yet cannot ascertain) is now a heel (bad-guy wrestler) after being a babyface (good-guy wrestler) for three games straight since Warzone. The opportunity to create one's own stable (four-member team) is also pretty fun, but considering that it takes a whole block of memory to save a single custom-made stable, players will ask, "Why bother?" The same goes for the new types of matches that one can participate in---Dumpster, Table, Backlot Brawl, and Brimstone. Sure, they're all very innovative and quite fun to watch, but the aforementioned flaws in control take much of that fun away. Even the Create-a-Wrestler feature---a staple in this line of games from Warzone on---leaves much to be desired, for though players have far more options available to them in selecting the outfit, entrance music, voice, moves, and so forth for each character they make, the nature of AR's gameplay again messes things up by compromising the nature of the moves in use. For example, in the instance that a given CAW uses both a Torture Rack and a Beast Choker, that character can only use one of these two submission holds upon pressing the punch button when grasping an opponent from behind, which varies with the degree of tie-up advantage (s)he has at the moment and accordingly makes the selection of created characters' maneuvers rather useless. This especially holds true for players who might not know what some of the moves are supposed to be in the first place based on their names alone. Speaking of submission holds, I would like to bring up the fact that almost EVERY hold in Anarchy Rulz is now meant to force opponents to "tap out"---even such holds as the Side Headlock, the Leg Grapevine, and the run-of-the-mill Full Nelson. Sorry to say, but only the most "hardcore" enthusiast (if you'll pardon the bad pun) of Extreme Championship Wrestling would want to purchase Acclaim's ECW Anarchy Rulz, and then only for its nostalgia value. Not only is its gameplay a chore to become accustomed to (as mentioned above), but with its ugly graphics and mediocre sound quality, Joel Gertner's obnoxiously self-serving "color" commentary, and an inappropriately large amount of bloodshed for ANY game with a rating of "T for Teen," this title is not one worth playing. My advice for PSX owners and ECW fans alike is simple: Save your money on both Aspirin and video games by sticking with Hardcore Revolution.

That's all fine and dandy, but the gameplay is too difficult. The game uses all the buttons, PLUS the buttons on the analog controllers too. It's very awkward overall. To run, you have to hold in the left controls while pushing forward or backward or whatever. To aim the gun, you have to use your right hand for both aiming and shooting (I usually throw my left thumb on the control to aim, because doing it with your right feels so odd, and it's nearly impossible to land on anyone.) Easy mode comes into play here, because I think it aims for you a bit.Either way, aiming is too hard to make it a great game.Even walking is a challenge sometimes, because you have so many different controls and buttons you have to use. The missions I have played so far are fairly easy in the lowest setting (easy mode), and you get all 3 guys to play with, but like other reviews have mentioned, the buildings are boring. There is barely any furniture in any of them, and they all look fairly the same. On the issue of the interaction with others in the game...it's rather odd.The ambassador in the first mission is standing in the middle of a room, but the terrorists couldn't find him? Also, the terrorists are very bad aims (again, in easy mode)...they'll take 10 shots before they even hit you, and it might take you ten shots just to aim the controls without going past them and actually take them down.Maybe I haven't had enough experience with the controls and it gets easier, but I doubt it gets easy enough where it feels normal. Not bashing the game, because so far, I like it. It's enjoyable, and it's nice that you can select a difficulty level, and it's an interesting concept overall. With better controls and more depth and work done on each environment, this game could have been a lot better.I like it enough tho, and I'll keep playing till I beat it or get tired of it.
