Editorial Review As in the cartoon, the game's graphics are relatively simplistic. However, the cameraangles do get a bit dicey at times, since the kids' big heads can often block your view ofthe action. In addition, the frequently shifting perspectives sometimes result in a suddenreversal of your control response, which can be frustrating during time-sensitivemoments. Nonetheless, this 1999 winner of the Parents Choice Award for the 4- to10-year-old category is a great way for parents and their young children to play together.--Kasty Thomas Pros: Reviews (16)

Editorial Review Where the previous game in the series had you running from the law, this one has you racing for pink slips. Sure, you can still playcops and robbers (this time even playing the role of John Q. Law),but the real fun in this game comes from racing to win so that you canbuy a better car. Once equipped with faster wheels, you can hook upwith a friend to race for titles in the two-player mode. High Stakes boasts the best graphics in the series, but theycome at a price: slowdown. All too frequently, we found ourselveshitting a wall or an opponent's vehicle because the game stuttered aswe drove into a graphics-intensive portion of the track. Good visualsare nice, but they should never come at the expense of gameplay. Still, when else will you get a chance to blow away a buddy's shiny newMcLaren F1 in your "lowly" Corvette? --T. Byrl Baker Pros: Features Reviews (26)
In many ways, the best part of the game is not the actual racing. The first thing you have to do is choose a car, and there are at least nineteen cool little speed demons at your beck and call (and even more later on if and when you have enough cash to move up in the world). If you can't decide which car you want, you can take a trip to the car showroom and hear all sorts of details about the specifications and features of each model available.Serious players can build, update, and customize any car to make it his/her pride and joy, yet really serious players have the high stakes option of putting their money where their mouths are (i.e., racing for pink slips) - you lose the race, you lose your car. The tracks are really quite diverse and require different driving styles; when you have to deal with a number of hairpin turns, you'd better be a better driver than I am.Different environments help make each race unique, as you might have to battle bad weather, additional passenger traffic, and the darkness of night.Of course, you don't have to just go out there and race cold turkey; you can take all the time you want running test laps and getting a feel for each track. You also have the option of racing in single events or competing in tournaments. My favorite aspect of this game, though, is the Hot Pursuit option. Here, you can choose either to run from the law or climb inside a police car (which can vary depending on the country in which you are driving) and play Smokey to some other guy's Bandit. You even get to bang against and all but wreck fleeing speeders in your quest to enforce the law.Whichever side of the law you choose to play, you are privy to all sorts of great police radio chatter.Speeders will have to evade not one cop alone but a whole group of them, and these cops coordinate their pursuit tactics.Roadblocks, spike strips, and a bevy of cruisers trying to block you in can all make for quite an exciting challenge. Need For Speed: High Stakes is getting a little long in the tooth now, as is the original Playstation console, but the game is still a lot of fun to play when you just want to goof around for a little while.Serious gamers will unlock cars and tracks that more casual players may never see for themselves, but any novice can pop in the CD and entertain himself/herself with a world of fun features.

This game is simple. 3-on-3, smash or be smashed, and play some simple hockey ! While nowhere near a hockey sim, the basic rules do the job nicely. Character animation is good, but not great, though special effects and sound effects are hilarious. There are plenty of trick moves and special shots that allow the wimpy "finesse" players survive and even win against the big bad bruiser sized players. Either style of play you choose, you'll have fun. Well done. ... Read more

First off, they gave the game arcade style feel and controls. Big mistake. They also made it more like the actual show: you have to continually punch the guy before you can start doing grappling moves. I may be in the minority, but constantly punching a guy gets old fast. I want to be able to start throwing suplexes and hitting piledrivers right off the bat. Secondly, the game's A.I. has gotten extremely intelligent. Too intelligent. The game can kick your ass unless you're a great gamer, and I'm just average, maybe a little below. Mainly because of the counter system. The game goes like this: punch, punch, punch, punch, grapple, move-counter move-counter move, etc. You'll get countered excessively, and your counters won't work most of the time. Yes, it is a lot like the actual wrestling you watch on TV, but for a wrestling game to be fun in my opinion, it can't be realistic in terms of following how an actual wrestling match would go. I don't want to spend over an hour or more in a match, 15-30 minutes is plenty, unless it's a Royal Rumble-type match. THQ threw out the window the great grappling engine they had with the N64 games and has replaced it with this tripe. I honestly don't understand what the fans see in this series of game. I guess if you like your matches in the game to follow how the matches on the show work, and you enjoy the actual wrestling to a be a chore and full of non-stop punching and countering, than this is the game for you. If you want an actual FUN wrestling game, then I suggest you stick with THQ's WCW games on the N64. At least then, they had the right idea. ... Read more

Editorial Review As you travel around the world, climbing and smashing buildings, leaving destructionand carnage in your wake, the only thing standing between you and a festival of urbandemolition is a paltry bunch of tanks, rocket-pack soldiers, and police cars. Even if theseguys manage to take you down, they pose no real threat--the game offers unlimitedreplays. What makes Rampage World Tour so addictive is the fun of punchingholes in buildings, downing planes with a single kick, and cannonballing thoughthe roof of the local courthouse. In two-player mode, you can also fight othermonsters, but the main fun of the game is still to be found in unrelentingdestruction of high-rises, hot dog stands, hospitals, and every other kind ofbuilding imaginable. In short, the game revolves around quick-and-dirty masscarnage. The graphics are true to the original game's style while being a strongimprovement over previous versions. The game interface is easy to learn, andphony news reports and the antics of Scumlabs scientists provide a humorousintermission between levels. So if you have ever wanted to grind the majorlandmarks of the planet under your heel and stomp out to sea, RampageWorld Tour is for you. Allen Stewart Pros: Reviews (11)
Might play ita while since I will make progress on it then i did on Kingdoom of hearts. If you enjoy this game I recomend Rampage 2 Universal tour and RampageWarp through time
I think I'll sell it the first chance I get. I don't care what kind of games you like, don't get this one at all.

I sure am glad I did. It's too bad I can't find the game anymore.I thought I had it somewhere but it's not where I thought it would be.So I lost it.Funny how I keep losing video games when in actuality I'm a very organized person. This game is really freaking sick and fun.I love hitting old ladies with my bike, along with construction workers and the half-naked girl who waves the start flag. It's really fun hitting people with your bike. It's also great kicking and punching people, along with smacking them with chains and baseball bats. This game could have more stages instead of just five, but that's okay. The hard rock music that plays in each of the stages is really awesome. So what, the graphics could be better. That doesn't matter at all.
Road Rash is a very bad game. I mean youbasically play the whole game in 2 minutes. Hey don't get me wrong Iusually like the Road Rash series they were one of my favorites on theGenesis, but not on the Playstation. Plus the characters in the game withthat so called "puppet animation" who could look at those guysfor 5 minutes and live tell me I want to know. Plus they basically didn'tdo anything to the levels compared to the Genesis Road Rash. The levels arestill at Genesis's level or animation! You can't do worst than that. Like Isaid I like the Road Rash series on the Genesis, but that was when thePlaystation didn't exist! I bought this game hoping it would be a greatlyimproved game from the Genesis version, but actually I think I like theGenesis version better. I mean at least it was original and the first, butthis new one should be up to Playstation's animation level not the Genesisor Game Boy's! Don't be dumb and waste your good money on this game. Go outand buy some games with Playstation standards!

Sound: 6/10 – I can remember the background plane noises, but the shooting sounds could’ve been more bang-crash-WAM! Value: 5/10 – If you play a lot of games that are based around things in the air or aeroplanes, this isn’t the pick of the litter. It is worth buying for a price under $..., but you might not be interested if you aren’t willing to get fly-wise. Overall: 6/10 – Definitely not a poor game, it will teach you with its intelligence how to fly a simulator plane, but don’t expect the entertainment level to be through the roof.
