I laughed at my friend when he showed me he bought this game for his PC. He was like "Shut up, how was I supposed to know this game was garbage!!" LOL! Funny stuff. I suggest you only buy this game if you can get it for under 20 dollars otherwise invest your money into WarCraft. ... Read more

I do notice often some people have no patience with new things and blame others for the fact. Your not going to buy this game and be the best overnight. Doesnt happen in any game with actual depth. There are so many planes with definitive characteristics to master it can be overwhelming. Recognizing a bogie aircraft and combat manuevers take alot of practice as well as gunnery. Ballistics are modeled realistically as possible in weapon rate of fire, mass, muzzle velocity and trajectory. I wouldn't recommend trying to dogfight an interceptor with a torpedoe bomber unless you've been playing awhile. =)
AH guys say FA pilots are biased? It takes some practice to be good in the game. Its not about fighting premapped drones. For the price nobody can beat VR-1 & Jaleco for the package they have assembled hands down. CFS 3 Was pretty but still as flat a flight model as CFS2. And for the price of CFS I think MS bombed. Sincerely,
It has Territorial Combat rooms, where the player can pick one of 5 countries to fight for. With others (averaging 250 pilots on any given evening), you can choose to bomb, drop troops, provide fighter cover, or hit tanks. On the other side, there are simple dogfigting arenas, where you can fly as a team or even in a Free for All arena. The physics are relaxed a bit(unlimited fuel and ammo, no black or redouts) for easy enjoyable gameplay. On the highest side, the people out for full realism can enjoy all the physics thrown right at them, and fight other planes without seeing their tags first. This game truly is the cutting edge of MMOG flight sims.Sure, you can go play Battlefield1942 over at laggy gamespy with 32 or less players, but if you want to FLY there, its just silly.Combat Flight Sim and IL2 both are good games, but do not hold a candle to the online immersion of FA3.5. The community is tight knit, as others have said.Unlike virtually any other game, troublemakers are quickly run off by the everpresent sysops, who really do a great job of keeping gameplay enoyable for all.Lets face it, anyone with any experience in online gaming has faced the "jerk", who is only there to cause trouble and disrupt a good time. FA polices itself well. The few bad ratings this game has got in customer service are from those people, angry I am sure, that for once they were not allowed to disrupt things. The developers actively fly and converse with players in the newsgroups, something rarely seen in a videogame. The sysops run events week long. From Pin Point Parachuting, Canyon Races, Kings of The Sky (KOTS) Squad Matches, to full blown historical recreations with 1000's of pilots participating, the events are a blast. Your fellow pilots will quickly become your friends and confidants. After a while, you will want to join a squadron so you can work even better as a team to bring your country to victory in Terrritorial Combat, or hold the KOTS room as champion of up to 5 equal squad matches. This game truly has it all and I know any online gamer would have a blast in it, given the chance.
Now, yes this game is played on the internet... so internet performance can cause issues. But ANY online game is subject to this and NONE pull off as much action and fun per person playing (up to 300+!!!) as Fighter Ace 3.5 can!Problems are identified and remedied as soon as practical and possible! The community in this game is second to NONE.The developers and sysops are seen in game routinely. They have an active stance in gameplay issues and playability. There is something for everyone who enjoys flying the virtual skies.3 basic physics levels w/ various settings that reach for pure arcade to very realistic (not that silly stuff that you see in WW2OL and such) flight modeling. You can fly fighters, bombers, torpedo planes, even cargo planes! There are constantly changing rooms that are updated regularly to keep game play challenging and fun, as well as a few rooms that based on popular room layouts. So come on in and give it a fly...there are TONS of squadrons looking for new members and TONS of solo flyers looking for a wingman...YOU! ... Read more

Mechwarrior II:Mercenaries is a reasonable translation of tabletop BattleTech to computer gaming. I say "reasonable" because there are finer nuances that have been altered to make the computer gaming experience more palatable. More on that in a second, let's give this game it's due. Building on the slightly older Mechwarrior II and expansion pack this game gave you the viewpoint of the Inner Sphere (IS) domains. Coincidentally most BattleTech players I've ever dealt with play IS in one form or another, and so the first Mechwarrior II, while pretty, seemed a little odd. No Mechwarror game since this one has covered the Clan Invasion of 3051 and it's a crying shame, more classic combat scenarios came out of that era than any other, hands down. You start out as a mercenary commander (your CO blown away in the awesome, totally BattleTech inspired intro). Over the years you acquire better Mechs and weapon systems, salvage partially destroyed equipment (and even more Mechs), and spend your money wisely upgrading. You can also hire up to 2 Lance mates, although as a BattleTech purist I really would have liked to have had 3, a Lance being 4 Mechs in number. You can also hire a single Aerospace fighter or bomber pilot, flying the classic 3025 models (Stukas, Lucifers, Corsairs, and more). As the game progresses your stature and fame in the IS grows, until strange stories come from the Periphery of a marauding army of souped up Mechs destroying all in thier path. In one of the most memorable game sequences I ever played (ever, to this day) you escape with some Periphery pirates (common enemies make strange bedfellows, eh?) and flee in a stolen Pegasus Light Hovercraft to a perfectly taut soundtrack. The cutscenes were wonderful and the game exudes pure BattleTech. The new Mercenaries captures a lot of the dynamics of running an independent mercenary company in the BT universe but just doesn't take it from this era, which is a shame. This game, good as it is, still has some flaws. If you flip through your 3025 manuals you'll see most of the Mechs are here, save for a few notable ones like the Rifleman, Warhammer, Phoenix Hawk, and my favorite, the Hatchetman. My understanding is there is an ongoing licensing problem with some of these designs, basically carbon copied from the RoboTech universe. Weapons don't seem to do as much damage, but I understand that's a necessary evil of the design. On a tabletop the average life expectancy of some units isn't even a full minute, and so while you may expect to obliterate that unwary Commando with your AC20 in one shot it's a little dissappointing to see it take up to 3. Your Lance members oftentimes don't know where they're going, although admittedly they can hit thier targets. The vaunted Aerospace Pilot works for only a few missions and then simply ceases to work, simply hovering in place over the battlefield, regardless of how many times you tell him to attack. And I won't lie, there are a number of impossible missions that will have you scouring the web looking for invulnerability cheats, the first and foremost on my mind being the set of missions on the ice freighter. This game was so good though, the soundtrack was absolutely incredible, the graphics for it's day were great, that I simply cannot give it anything less than 4 1/2 stars. My hat's off to FASA, Activision, and Hanse Davion. Miss ya bud!
Gameplay Sound Controls Mechs Cons: Pros: I would recommend this game, and I never did buy this game, it came with my computer I bought 5 years ago.

Amazon.com Review The females, for example, make Lara Croft look like she hasn't yet hit puberty. They're certainly some 13-year-old's grotesquely distorted idea of forbidden female eroticism. This kind of aesthetic pervades the entire game and might give the average player a slight case of the heebie-jeebies. This aside, there's plenty of shooting, pummeling, and ass kicking for those who want to get down to business--in the style of Quake--and lots of cabinets to open and handles to pull, a la Duke Nukem 3D or Resident Evil. For all its retreading of familiar ground, Sin is, on the whole, reasonably satisfying, and the death match, not too shabby at all. Escaping from the ordinary isn't the only challenge that Sin faces. The developers seemed to run out of Q&A folks: the multiplayer mode works fine, but there are definite bugs in the single-player version, and the loading time for some of the modules is not quite acceptable. Bottom line--a good ride for hard-core action shooters, but a pass for gamers possessed of a more discriminating palate. --Tamara Hladik

Im not even giving a review, because If you get it, youll cancel the subscription the next month like I did.Look at screenshots and itll tell you. The pictures lie, its a trick, dont listen to them!If you want adventure like that, youll have to be playing till your an old man.Get Final fantasy XI, or Dark age of camelot or something.
Its what people always do, they train and gain a few levels and get some cash from their enemy. Then they go buy some new weapons/armour/potions.They train till a certain level so they know they will be good enough to go out far through the everquest world.Sure, they are strong enough but they expected more.Tons of cool abilities and/or spells and items that makes it look cool like you see on trailers. But they dont get it.They train and train and accomplish nothing just like some other people are saying.Thats why I got rid of it. If you want a good fun, action/adventure online RPG that is way more fun, then I'd suggest // Dark Age of Camelot \\I have that game and it is what I expected. Its what I call *fun* ._.
My friend got this game and he was saying stuff "you gotta get it, its so cool"I was so exited to get EQ trilogy. Finally I saved up enough money to pay for it for a few months.By the way thats a badthing, you have to pay $13 a monthly fee to play. Finally I started to play it and that weeks I played it every day.day 1, awesome.. day 2, awesome.. day 3, awesome, day 4 5 and 6, awesome... day 7, SUCKED!after a few days of playing it, not only it gets old, but you learn your way around the game and figure out that its really dissapointing. The graphics are pretty good.but thats about the only good part.its impossible to gain levels, it takes so long. After 5 days of gameplay, 3 hours each of nothing but fighting, training, fighting, training I was level 4.I didnt take one break, not a lunch break, NOTHING.Thats how hard it is.I didnt die once either. It is hard to find your way around.the 7th day before I got rid of it, it took me an hour to find the magic shop where you buy new spells to use. it is hard to use some spells, like hide.it never works. not many people are friendly.I only joined a group 1 time and that was with a friend my friend who I knew in real life.Even in the daytime, it seems kind of like it is still dark.It just barely lightens up.It is still about the same. You need a torch which doesnt help much.you can turn up your gamma and it will be easy to see but it will be like that the whole time even at night so it takes away the fun.It takes forever to get enough money to buy stuff unless you do a trade skill which is hard.It is nothing like the commercials, they say you go on challenging quests, fight dragons and other monsters, go on an adventure of a lifetime!YOUR KIDDING RIGHT? For crying out loud You have to stay in the same town until you are like level 20 which takes about a year, if youll leave in half a minute some monster will kill you.I can go on and on but I am getting tired. SO......DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IT IS HORRIBLE!!!!! WAIST OF MONEY!!!!!!!WAIST OF TIME!!!!!!
Reasons for goin' frigid? 2) I know a guy who was kicked out of college for never going to class and using the T1 line for EQ. He is now living in Texas and has a job solely to support his addiction. 3) Not impressed with the artwork/graphics/extreme polygons. (Although the textures were great) 4) I don't want to live there. 5) Neverwinter Nights. Pure friggin' ecstasy. ... Read more

This game has a steep learning curve, and also steep system requirements, but the game is by far and wide THE funnest game out there in my opinion. Thousands of players controlled by their side's respective high commands (I am a proud member of Oberkommando Der Wermacht in the game), slugging it out tank on tank, plane on plane, ship on ship. Many historically accurate weapons modeled already and more every patch. With 1.90, we have gotten:Depot spawning representing reinforcements moving up the line, Strategic bombing which ACTUALLY effects what can be researched by the high commands and how much gets produced, new tanks and planes, and in 1.9x series, we get: I am, like many others, an extreme WWIIOL fanboy. I have been playing the game since 1.10, where we had endless tank swarms storming across the Belgian countryside, up until present, when we have organized infantry battles, naval sorties, strategic bombing, air support, and more. And with "Brigade Spawning", the High Commands will actually get to deploy Kampfgruppes and Brigades, Divisions, Korps/Corps, Armies, and even Army groups over the massivee 1/2 scale European map, which currently models in detail Northern France, Western Germany, Southern Britain, Belgium, and Southern Holland, including much of the Zeeland Islands where pure tankless battles take place between determined marines. The map expands almost every patch, oftentimes by leaps and bounds, and giving us more territory to conquer and fight over. Yes, there are occasional expeditions by determined gamers to the Alps, Norway, and Scotland, I have been on a few myself. We have the most dedicated group of game devs in the world as far as I'm concerned as well, all of whom are active in the community, posting in the forums, and playing their game, truely it is a labor of love for them. If you're a casual gamer and just want to drive a tank and blow crap up, this is the game for you. If your a dedicated flight simmer who wants to escort bombers that actually affect the ground war and war at large, this is the game for you. If your a hardcore strategy enthusiast and history buff who aspires to lead an online army of fanatical troops marching through the streets of Paris, London, or Berlin, this is the game for you. If you are easily addicted to things, I must warn you:the game is regularly called "online crack", and for good reason ;). Accurate damage models (no hitpoints, actual damage and penetration data), large explosions, drunk people driving Opel troop transports at 80mph down a road with 15 people in the back, and more! Heck, come play for a month and become a flyboy. PS:You actually don't need too great a gaming rig if you want "just decent" FPS, the hardcore guys will buy new computers practically just for this game. and upgraded to: Decent frame rates though I had some issues, now I have: AMD Athlon XP2800+ Barton (2.08GHZ) If you want to play WWIIOL, Recommend the following:

Game play itself, in a word, boring. LAGGGGG when your around other players, is so fearsome its sickening.Graphic models and terrain have collision and rendering problems. Also if you are just sick of the EQ zoning don't even think of Anarchy. You will see landscape and mobs beyond the zone line. hit the zone and pop up in an area nothing looks like what you seen through the zone barriers.
If you like solid gameplay and are looking for a satisfying online community experience, then give Anarchy Online a try for 30 days and see if you agree with me. Just be sure to set aside a ton o' time -- because you'll be pulled in and doing everything you can to level as fast as possible! See you online...
Because this game relies on cooperation among players i actually found the gaming experience much more pleasant than in other mass multiplayer games. there are also numerous features in the game that make hacking and stealing of items very difficult so there have been no known attemts to try this, and if there have been attempts to hack Funcom has been vigilant in banning those accounts that have tried this. of course there are some buggs in the gameplay, but they actually make the game more entertaining, most of the buggs that cause crashes have been eliminated since the original version was released. FunCom also provides extencive information on how to fix some of the buggs associated with your hardware not callibrating to their software.

Star Wars Galaxies is a lot more fun anyway.
Most importantly, because the game has a steep learning curve and is somewhat overwhelming at first, it seems that a lot of the KeW1 d00dZ have been scared off. This has left a player base that is a bit more adult and intelligent than in other MMORPGs like EQ and UO.
There's a load of complexity here. Learning how to best shape your character. Some very pleasant graphics with a great cyberpunk look. Enjoyable combat. A diversity of races and classes. They've just revamped the mission system, making them more challenging and visually interesting. There's also a thriving social scene--people actually go to clubs to hang out and to dance. And despite the game's mascot, the fuzzy little dweller of the newbie zone the "leet", the game is populated with largely intelligent people not given to d00dizm. There's no question that while still overlooked, Anarchy Online is among the best of the MMPORPGs along with Everquest, UO, and Camelot.
Within a month of going to AO, I found myself dropping EQ, AC, and several other games. I was hooked! It's solo friendly and no two characters are remotely alike. Over the last few months I have gotten 7 people I know to download the trial. Of the 7 people, ALL 7 decided to buy it. If you're still unsure, download the Anarchy Online trial, but you'll probably find yourself wanting Notum Wars eventually. The trial does not allow you to use the expanded features. ... you cant go wrong at this price either--dont waste your money on other FPS games, wwiiol is the best out there, just try it for a month and you will see why!
The patching for this game is slow compared to larger companies and they come with there problems also. All in All what the C.Rats are trying to accomplish is exactly what the gaming community wants in a WAR game. The Realism (not the graphics) but the action of the game is right there. This game isn't really intended for someone under 12 and yet they have to have allot of majority to play with some of the older community which relies heavy on team play to win. There is little or no support if the game doesn't work for you or on your computer which will need the current fastest running vid card and processor along with ram. The game is not finished and may never be there is currently one theater and they have been stuck in 1941 for the last two years as to the vehicle set. It can be addictive but frustrating at times just as much.
This game is worth every penny.

On top of the server issues, as we advanced in the game, we were forced to deal with an usually large number of "griefers". These are people whose sole mission in the game is to make your playing experience less enjoyable. They will intentionally lead hostile monsters to your location to get you killed, attack creatures you are trying to tame, or just interfere enough in your combat sequence to make it impossible for you to win. Despite the fact that the game has a supposed strict "no harassment" policy, don't expect any help. You will get the answer that they must witness the harassment in person, which is putting the cart before the horse as the moment a GM (game master) shows up to witness the event, the harassment stops. However, if someone uses a bad word (which is kept in a journal system) they will suspend the account. Despite the fact that it seems to me that physical in game harassment is far worse than someone swearing at me, there is nothing they are willing to do to enforce their own rules. Presuming you endure the server crashes and are willing to put up with the "griefers" you will very quickly max out your character and experience all the game has to offer. The last obstacle for most people is crossing into the land of Feluca (the game is divided into 3 worlds... in Trammel and Ilshenear you can only play PvM (player vs monster), but in Feluca, you can play PvP (player v player) to try and get some of the "power scrolls" which allow you to build your character a bit stronger. Unfortunately, once in Feluca you are forced to deal with a force much worse than griefers (PKers and Thieves). In-game quests and scenarios are poorly thought out and dull. There is very little offered in the way of in-game "events" that could produce a greater community feel. Scenarios don't seem to connect in any meaningful way, making in game stories impossible to enjoy. Ultimately, after a few months you find yourself wondering why you are still playing and paying a monthly fee for it. ...The nature of the game is such that there is no ending... no completion... no feeling of actual accomplishment. You always feel as if you are reaching for a goal, but are not sure what that goal is or why you are reaching for it. Overall, if you are a fan of D&D and/or RPG games, this game will not keep you entertained very long and will ultimately leave you feeling as if you wasted tons of time and money.
Were talking about a game here that has over 200,000 people PAYING to play, ontop of buying it. It is by far the best game i have ever played, I've been playing now, for over 3 years and theres still so much i want to do, and i'm talking about playing, 8 hours a day, even now after three years. Theres are hundreds of character types you can choose from the sensiblem to the damn right werid and Unique - meet my Sleath Miner Thief Scout character. Bored with a character or a skill or want to try another, or even a whole new skill set, no need to delete your character, just mark your old skills as down and mark your new ones as up. With new stuff, skills, monsters being added all the time (5-6 Major updates a year, plus lots of minor) You never run out of things to do. The graphics are great, they do they job, they look a little outdated at first, but you will love them once you start playing, no clunkly 3D, but nicely drawn sprite and cell animation. Sure i play less for a while when Squaresoft or Blizzard release a new game, but after a few weeks, when i've finished the game i'm back upto 8 hours a day, or what time i can spare. The Day i lose interest in UO, i have no idea what i will do, it really is my rock, the game i keep coming back to. Just don't bother playing if you have to have a linear game or goal, there are no goals or paths in UO, other than Life.
