Pros: Cons:
The graphics are really stellar in a cartooney sort of way. Batman's cape flows behind him as he moves, headlights show dust particles, the puddles of water reflect their surroundings perfectly as you move around. Birds fly up as you approach, cans tumble out of your way. Shadows lighten and darken as you move through areas. The fog effects are cool and when you get gassed, the screen becomes woozy in a VERY neat way. I really give this game high marks for its graphic achievements. On the other hand, being a cartoon, it does seem a bit TOO clean at times. The water doesn't ripple when you go through it. It's more like walking through a Disney version of a "gritty city" - the actual comic was much more gritty. But that's a minor flaw. The sound feels quite appropriate - both the music and the crunches and thwaps. The attack combos are great and fluid, and you get the little color "splats" when you hit an enemy. The game is very much like the Two Towers and Return of the King series in that you learn series of combos and after each mission can buy yourself more for the given character you're using. You get rated on how many of each quality type of attack you use, and can replay levels to better your score. The game for some reason reminds me very much of the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game on the ancient Nintendo console. You're a crimefighter in a dark-but-clean city landscape, battling thugs that pop up out of manholes and out of alleys. You can even do co-op play if you want! This game isn't a complex RPG or puzzle game, but for anyone who loves comics or the Return of the King style of levelling up and building combos, this is a fun way to spend your time. ... The game gets better and better as it goes along. Don't judge it based on the warm-up.
Well, in the "not to love" category we have: Weak graphics. Substandard (non-customizable) controls.Dumb missions. And a third person camera that absolutely defies player control. All in all, I thouroughly enjoyed the cut scenes, and spent much of the gameplay trying to gouge out my own eyes. Thanks a load, Fox Interactive.
As far as platformers go, none have really stuck out to me since the original Super Mario Bros. This probably has a lot to do with the genre not really exciting me overall (with the exception of Ratchet and Clank). But, I love the show that this game is based on and despite poor reviews by a lot of game publications, I felt the prospect of a lost episode was worthy of purchase. As I stated up top, the gameplay is pretty average and even shoddy at times. Exiting a room and having the camera lag behind is inexcusible. Another aggravating aspect is having enemies come from behind unexpectedly and hainv gto spend more time refocusing than attacking back and ultimately getting killed. These kind of bugs should be banned from finished products and after soooooo many games that have been released, you figure bugs this premature would be a thing of the past. The fun comes from simply being able to participate in this show in building a new episode from start to finish. Despite reviewer gripes, the load times are not much different from most other games. Star Wars Jedi Outcast II has waayyy longer load times. The targeting is actually quite simple considering some of the game's missteps and toggling between weapons is also surprisingly easy. The graphics are slightly disappointing compared to other cel-shaded titles but at least they had the right idea rather than opting for3D. Overall, I would give Futurama 3.25 stars but as a fan of the show, I gave it an even four. Gameplay-wise, it probably doesn't deserve that many but the license is a solid five so 4 is pretty fair. Give it a chance, you might even enjoy it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review Game modes include practice, single play, tournament, time trials, and versus.Tournament mode is the bulk of the game. Players can beat it in fewer than threehours and it isn't particularly difficult. Replay value is added by requiringyou to beat the tournament mode several times so you can unlock all the game'ssecrets. Oddly enough, the game's sound--usually LucasArts's forte--is hamperedby an unusual effect: at times you'll hear the full Star Wars treatment,as John Williams's score and cool sound effects totally capture the feel of themovies, but other times you'll hear only the sound of your engine. Theenvironmental audio is an interesting choice that wasn't executed very well.Audio and brevity issues aside, this game is one of the strongest StarWars titles released for a console. --Raymond M. I get this all from this game.I've really enjoyed playing this game and building up my character while trying to unlock other characters to play with. Each course is imaginative and has its own sets of challenges. My only problem is that it can get easy really quickly.I wish there were a way to download courses off the Internet or an ability to create your own. But in the end, if you like racing games I would highly recommend this one!! ... Read more

Amazon.co.uk Preview Thankfully, all this is backed up by great gameplay--an entirely new game engine has been developed for next-gen hardware, and though Turok Evolution is principally a first-person shooter, in certain levels you're backed up by a squad of allies, and in others you get to ride a flying dino with strap-on rocket launchers. The advanced AI means that both enemies and allies behave in a realistic manner and will adapt their tactics depending on whether you approach with stealth or force. There are over 60 stages across a variety of single- and split-screen multiplayer modes, with different difficulty levels for rookies or experts. Turok Evolution is an absolute must-have for FPS fans. --Rikki Price Reviews (61)

Amazon.com Review The game follows the adventures of Gordon Freeman, a young research associate atthe Black Mesa Federal Research Facility. A typical day at the office goescompletely awry as numerous alien life forms invade the facility. The fate ofthe facility, and quite possibly the world, is in the hands of an unlikely hero. The graphics here trump the original's (understandable, as more than three yearshave passed). The character models have four times as many polygons, as well assmoother textures and animations. The sound is also very good, with some of thefunniest voice acting yet heard in a game. Of course, the single-player gameplayis excellent, thanks to some very well-developed enemy artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, the new modes aren't nearly as brilliant. Decay, the newcooperative mode, seems like an afterthought and pales in comparison to thecooperative modes in Perfect Dark and Halo. Deathmatches onlysupport two players, which is incredibly lame considering many PS2 first-personshooters support four. Despite these flawed modes, the single-player story is sosuperb that it totally warrants a purchase. --Raymond M. Padilla Pros: Reviews (78)
+The most creative and best storyline i have ever seen. The leve designs are amazing, and the story is ingenius, you will never find a game as great as this one in year. The level designs for examples, have many obstacles like "hmmm, what do i do now, how would i pass this without getting killed.." and many booby-traps i must add. (the booby traps are very surprising and frightening, ex. your walking in a room and suddenly the lights turn off, and you passout, and finding yourself after dumped in a garbage dump which is about to crush you) note: read the other reviews to see a brief summary of the plot. +A exceptionally hard game! I played on the PC version (i find using the mouse easier) and I put on Easy Mode, and i thought, w/e it will be a piece of cake. well, as you go farthur, there will be more enemies, alien, or human. If your looking for a challenge, here it is! (although maybe they made it easier on the PS2 version) Things that you must consider: +THIS GAME IS about 6 years old! (1998) So don't expect shiny new graphics like Halo or Max Payne. In my opinion, a game is not great/fun by the looks of the cover, graphics, and how many weapons you have, a game is fun because of a great story and gameplay! (like the old mario games, its fun, but old.) Don't expect fancy animations, or anything, although i must add that the sound (not soundtrack) in this game is good. Ive heard that this game influenced many of the *new shiny games with intense graphics* out there today. If you want to try it out, you can rent it first, but you definetely won't beat it before the due date :) ... Read more
