4-0 out of 5 stars Good 'ol street football with the NFL license
Taking their successful "street" formula from their smash NBA Street series, EA Sports' first foray into street style NFL football may be flawed, but it's definitely fun.Featuring all the NFL teams, each with a roster featuring a handful of players that play both offense and defense, NFL Street has similarities to Midway's NFL Blitz, but this is definitely more enjoyable. While there are some glaring omissions on team rosters (where are players like Lavar Arrington and John Runyan?), the NFL stars one would expect are here, playing both sides of the ball. The controls are amazingly simple, while the trash talk is also about as one would expect. The graphics are decent, with the various fields looking great, but the player models look very much alike. This isn't such a drawback, but some more variety would have been nice (it's amazing how much Peyton Manning and Brad Johnson look alike here).Stopping the opposing team from scoring isn't easy to do at all, as the game's are high scoring (depending on what you set the touchdown meter to) which can be a drawback as well, but despite all that, NFL Street is still pure fun.All in all, if you've never played NFL Street and you're craving some smash mouth football action, look no further.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game to play with some buddies
When I have a couple of friends over, we always bust out NFL street. You can pick teams like you would at recess at school but with NFL players. The same players play on offense and defense so you could choose all defensive players and rock them on defense, unfortunately you won't get very far on offense.

Graphics are decent. It's nothing to complain about but nothing to freak out over either. All of the players are oversized to give the game a NFL Blitz kind of feel (but I think it's better than blitz)

Sound is kind of bad. The players yell ghettoish insults at eachother that are really dumb ie "You're gonna do my laundry!" They don't do it often but I always crack up at how corny it is when I hear it.

Challenge is pretty difficult but don't give up! The idea is that you start from scratch with blank players (0 points in everything) and earn points through challenges so they can become good. I do the fantasy team and use all of my points on two or three players (make sure I get a QB and Wideout). Then I can start stealing players from other teams when I beat them.

This is a good game to play with friends and you can get some fun out of it playing by yourself too, and it's only like 20 dollars now.

5-0 out of 5 stars So totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got the game and it is awesome. It has hard hitting tackles. The whole game is awesome. The only thing that sucks about it is that the challenge is so freakin hard

5-0 out of 5 stars he could go all the way. 6 more points for the good guys
Ian Royak #19

NFL STREET. prepare for a no mercy game. Man it is going to be a long day for the other team. dudes and dudettes. if you like footbal this is your kind of game. but the main thing that is awesome about this game is you play w/o all the pading but that is how we would like to play isn't itt. well i already play that way only w/o any pads what so ever. thank you for listening. Royak........... OUT!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth 4 Stars, not a 5
Well... This is no doubt a nice game.Good graphics, running plays are unstoppable with Marshall Faulk.Once you get Terell Owens open, woosh and pow!The ball is being carried into the endzone.Defense... the dreaded word.

Defense is really hard to use in this game.I was playing with the all time classics.Lawrence Taylor came flying at the offense.Thinking he was going to take his head off, the game sort of skipped and he was standing there struggling with the RB.Let me make that clear FLYING to STRUGGLING!The thing that made it worse was that the man had got pass Lawrence Taylor (sort of impossible if you think about it) and got a TD!

Offense is wonderful! My RB just rips through the D and goes in for the TD.Very few times do I fumble it though.Passing plays are also nice in this game. For example the Hitch and Go.The ball is snapped to the QB.Set up Terell Owens for it and you have a nice 60-80 play (I'm guessing.).One thing though.Walter Payton is running at the speed of light, wildin and stylin. All of a sudden here comes Chubby McChubby and he tackles Payton. For the computer its easy like Sunday morning!I don't know why, but a fat guy somehow gets up the field?I don't think so.

Gamebreakers are the key to winning.I must admit, it's impossible, but I suck at defensive gamebreakers!Offensive Gamebreakers are only useful for scrubs who can't play good running plays.Like I said, Gamebreakers will be useful.

NFL Challenge is hard!Personally, I pick a custom roster and build them up myself. There are other choices for your fantasy team: Pass Defense, Pass Offense, Rush Defense, Rush Offense, or a Balanced team.Either way you pick, your team is sure to suck. Its not impossible, just hard.Challenges get you development points to make your team unsuck (if thats a word).Tokens are used to take these challenges.Once in a while, if you get enough tokens you can take a challenge, and if you win, you can take a player from a professional team and put him on your team. The Ladder Mode in NFL Challenge is pretty hard in the beginning, but it will all work out...

In conclusion this is a 4 star game.If you want a hard hitting game, buy this and be sure to get your D up.Remember, there's no I in TEAM, and there's no D in NFL Street.

Merry Christmas guys!

3-0 out of 5 stars Doom1 still better
Bottom line if your gonna buy this buy the first one first to see if you like the dooms this is not the one to start off with!

4-0 out of 5 stars Doom 2... worth a look, but not a stare
My older brother and I have been playing the original "The Ultimate Doom" since we were toddlers. We've played through all the levels and we are truely die-hard fans.

However...

With our recent purchase of Doom II (yes I know, we're running a little behind the times) we were rather disappointed. Here's our thoughts...

The game is very well made, like the original. The graphics are decent, the sound effects are brilliant, the music is entertaining, and the gameplay is phenomenal. In addition, the game is WAY harder. It features a whole new arsenal of baddies (which are pretty funny because their graphics are much better than those of the original enemies so they stand out like sore thumbs). The new enemies are very creative. We particularly liked the big brown floating thing-a-ma-jigs that spit out the little flying skulls from the original game.All-in-all, those parts of the game are great.

The trouble resides in the "super-shotgun."The original shotgun was the staple weapon of the first Doom series, and likewise this new super-shotgun is the staple of the second. As a souped up, all encomposing, weapon of mass destruction, you'd think it would be pretty darn cool.

The problem is that it's been souped up in the wrong way.It fires a spread shot that no longer requires any accuracy at all.To compensate for this new kill-all gun, the folks at ID just made the monsters MUCH MUCH MUCH more difficult. However, all the style and the delicacy of the original is missing.Too much of the time, your being shot at by wickedly powerful attacks and you cannot even determine from where they came. You end up hiding and sneaking around corners and the like... and that's the exact reason why I used to play the original doom instead of the new breed of games like Quake. These new games are just not fun anymore.

PS:play Marathon 2... it was always better anyway ;-)

5-0 out of 5 stars doom 2still thebest
i have played it befor it is a good game

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best FPS ever!
Well, let me tell you. I've had Doom II since it came out. And, it is by far the best shooter I ever played!

Story - 7/10

It goes like this: You just returned from the moon which was infested with monsters, and you come back, and what do you know? There are demons everywhere! They came strait from the depths of Hell. They killed almost the entire human race. Now, it's up to you to save the Earth!

Graphics - 8/10

Meh, it came out in what, few years back? What did you expect? But, I guess they were ok back then. Hey, I'm not complaining. So, the graphics aren't too shabby when it comes to the blood and gore! :-)

Sound/Music - 10/10

The music is pretty catchy! I love the music. The sound is very good also. It's really not that bad. And, when you fire your gun, or the monsters see you, the will make noises! And it makes this squishy sound when you hit a monster with a rocket up close!

Controls - 10/10

The controls rock! The moving and shooting are so easy to use! Don't even have to aim, just point in the direction and BOOM! The moving is good. Just move with the arrows. Also, you can run when you hold shift + up/down arrow.

Gameplay - 10/10

Man, the gameplay is just unbelievable! This game has 32 all-new levels! Also, with 7 weapons and a NEW WEAPON!!!! The super-shotgun. And you have new demons too. The guns are: the pistol, the shotgun, the super-shotgun (the new weapon), the chaingun, the rocket launcher, the plasma rifle, and the all mighty BFG 9000! Which when you fire it at an enemy and hits them, it will hit nearby enemies to! Well, the object of this game is to blast monsters through out the level and find the exit. Then, you progress to the next level. All the way till the last one. There are also 2 secret levels. There are many verities of monsters BTW. Oh, and each level has three hidden key cards to access doors that were previously locked.

Replayability - 10+ /10

This game has so much replay value. I mean when you beat the game once you think your done right? Wrong! There's so much fun in blowing up those little suckers! I have had this game for a long time and I still play it!

Difficulty- 8/10

There's 5 different kinds of difficulty: I'm too young to die! (Easy), Hey, not to rough (Medium), Hurt me plenty (Hard), Ultra-Violence (very hard), and Nightmare (unfair).

Extras - 9/10

You can also make your own levels using a WAD creator. A WAD's are the level files. You can also play WAD's that other people made. I love makeing my own levels. It adds more fun to game if you beat the default 32 levels alot.

Rent or Buy

Definitely buy! It's so good of a game! And besides, I don't think you can rent PC games. Well, maybe you can I don't know.

Overall - 10/10

I give this game a 10/10 because it's the best game in the world! Trust me on this one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Doom 2 Forever. and Ever.
This game has changed the world. Before Doom 2 obviously was Doom. The game has introduced the FPS, or first person shooter. I myself have the doom collectors edition. It includes doom, doom 2, and Final Doom(TNT and the plutonia Experiment). Doom, however, is very old(over 10!) and doom 2 is turning 10 this year. Well, anyway, before my closing comment, i'd like to say this game is robably going to last for 10 more years(including Doom 3) until we are all writing on how legendary Doom 3 was and how it is all old. Aging is never a problem with games, its just if they are updated or not. Doom and Doom 2 were updated, with WADs, as you can create your own levels, episodes, and even games(such as final doom). My closing statement is:

I seem to be having a problem with my Doom Collectors Edition. The way the weapon is positioned in the game isnt right. It seems to have sunk lower, and if i get rid of the bottom dashboard, then it returns to the position it should of been while i had the dashboard up. I dont know how to position the screen. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Close to five stars but not quite
First of all, Breakthrough is worth ten bucks even if it is short.Ten Bucks is nothing.I am semi-surprised it went that cheap.Heck, buy it used for 5 bucks.
Anyway, about the game. The graphics, battles, guns, and sound are all very good. And one thing that I really like about it is that the AI is not so annoying. In the first medal of honor the AI would hit you without even aiming.Or they would see you even if you were extremely well hidden. The AI in this is better, and the action is crispier.Anyway, I think that for the price it is a good buy and you will be playing it through more than once.
It's a good game and was definitely better than Spearhead.

3-0 out of 5 stars Flawed but consistent
If you liked other MOHAA editions, then this is fairly true to the original format.Being so, it provides little in terms of new dynamics. Some new weapons, and the setting in the African/Italian Theatre add some appeal. Overall, you get what you expect. There are some very frustrating attributes to this expansion: ammo can be scarce, seemingly where it is needed most. A particular part in the game where you're fending off the enemy while your comrade unlocks a door for the longest 30s known to the universe with low ammo provided many hours of cursing, to the point where I just loaded to an earlier point, conserving ammo in anticipation of this part of the game. Thus gameplay can be stilted by unimaginative challenges. As usual, the game AI is poor, compensated by amazing sharpshooting skills of every enemy soldier.Stealth is almost useless in this games as with other MOHAA installments. But, if it wasn't fun on some level, I wouldn't have finished it.Recommend picking up cheap or used if you can. Not worth full price of admission.

5-0 out of 5 stars This games Multiplayer rocks!
This game is great! When I got the original I was a little dissapointed that the multiplayer wasn't working so I was stuck with the single player:( But after I purchased Breakthrough for some reason the multiplayer work and before I knew it I was slaying everyone! There are some great modes (Objective match) with some great maps too (V2 Rocket Facility, The Hunt). Anyways I want to inform you that this is a great game. So sign up soldier and get ready to be massacred by lt con da man. Thats me :) Hope you fools will try out the multiplayer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Review on GAme
Review On Game:
The game that will blow your mind....

Where do I go? What weapon do I use? These are some of the questions you could answer on the video game, Medal of Honor. This game is a"killer" buy. It has really good speed
(Loading), good graphics, pretty much good everything. If you ever go to buy a video game, I highly recommend this one.

(...)Isn't that such a fabulous cost?So if you really wanted a video game but your mom would not buy it for
You, show her this really, really cheap game and I guarantee
You she will buy it. Other games such as Need For Speed Underground and Enter The Matrix cost about five dollars more.

The special effects and sound effects on this game are awesome! The gunshots fill the air with a loud BANG!
The special effects are really good because the explosions on the game really and truly look real.

This game does not have a good theme for ages 7 and under. That is because it involves killing and stealing. Basically, this is a really good game. I highly, highly recommend this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Breakthrough to Breakdown
I have been a huge fan of Medal of Honor since I bought Allied Assault and even after Spearhead's shortfalls, but this is just terrible. This expansion pack should have been awesome, yet it failed terribly. The missions have potential, but are horrible. The African campaign where you had to defend the braindead minesweeping tanks was sheer agony. You have to stay ahead of the tanks to protect them, but if you take the time you need to kill the Germans who threaten you and the tanks, you'll likely be run over by the tanks you're protecting. It's very difficult to keep an eye on your tanks, keep moving up and shooting every German all at once. After a few minutes, it gets very tiring.

In the Italian campaign, you fire one round, ALL the Italians will know exactly where you are and you'll be surrounded in seconds.Being shot from every angle (where each shot throws off your aim) while using your Garand can be difficult, especially since there will be no health for you until much later.Later on you will have to fight off hordes of Italian tanks with mortars (as if those mortars could scratch a tank.)You're in a house with a small wall around it, you have to use these cumbersome mortars to destroy these tanks from two different directions, and if one touches the wall, you fail your mission.Even if you destroy it a split second after it touches the wall.Even though the enemy is destroyed, the enemy still has broken through.

One very annoying thing is the lack of ammunition. You have to conserve ammo like mad.About one in every 10 soldiers drops some ammo, if you're lucky. In most situations, I had to fight a group of Germans at close range with nothing more than my sniper rifle and pistol (at least the Italian pistol is decent) only to rewarded with no ammunition. It's very frustrating.

The single player mode ended twice as soon as it should have, and I was left with the feeling of "That's it?"

Like Spearhead, the shortfalls in singleplayer were somewhat made up for with improvements in the multiplayer. However the improvements were nothing spectacular.New modes, weapons and maps were nice, when I could play it.Apparently Breakthrough has a problem where when you try to connect to a multiplayer game, it says your CD key is already in use.Natrually I thought someone was using a pirated copy with my CD key. That is, until I went to their website and found out that's not the case at all.Apparently it's some bug where they screwed up and you have to pay.The explanation on how to fix the problem is of epic proportions (you have to delete the game in a special way and re-install it in a special way) and I just felt cheated. They screwed up so you have to compensate to use the product you paid for.

This is only everything I feel like writing about right now that I can remember (I gave up on this expansion months ago.)Just stick with MOHAA or Spearhead if you already have it.If you really want to try this out, don't spend over $10 for it.

EDIT: Since I wrote this review, I re-installed Breakthrough out of curiosity and the multiplayer works fine this time.I don't know how common the problem I mentioned is. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars this game is good but it lags for some reason
I Have broadband connection with a 1.2 AMD pc powered bya radeon 9600 graphic card and the game sometimes lags. Others times when I enter a room a black screen shows up giving a percentage of how long it will take to enter a room and sometime its take up to 2o minutes. Thats a long time even with dsl. I am newly introduced to the series so it will take me a while to get the hang of the multiplayer experience and the game in general.Other than that the game is fun to play. I recommend your get unreal 2004, but you should have a descent computer with a powerful graphics card. oh yeah if you dont have dsl dont bother playing online.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very innovative
Brand new game engine [for 2003], new gameplays [bombing run].
The game is fun, however it drifted away from the Unreal Tournament franchise. There is no assault, there are a lot of Unreal Tournament 1 characters missing and there are no vehicles, as the developers promised.
The game is not worth your money, you are better off purchasing the next title, Unreal Tournament 2004

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best frag fest that you can have online!
This game is great man. I just got it and I'm totally hooked on it. This is the first game ever to make me uninstall Counter Strike. My hard drive is sadly only 40gb for my newest gig and I had to uninstall Counter Strike to install this game. I first tried the demo which takes only about 200mb of my hard drive and I bought the full verision which was larger and forced me to uninstall CS. I won't say much because you probably tried the demo or already played the full version before so you know that it is good. some people said get Unreal Tournament 2004 instead but this game is about the same. UT2k4 only has few more maps, more vehicles, and the new Onslught mode. If you already have UT2K3, then you can stick to it for another year. Not only that, there are many great mods and you will definitly like it. Sorry if this review was waste of your time but you should still get this game.

3-0 out of 5 stars hi, ut 2004 is out guys.
get that instead of this thing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Unreal Game!
The original unreal tournament is the very definition of fun. It was interesting, and I could play the demo for hours without becoming bored. The game remained interesting with cool characters, maps, and weapons. Then they released new maps, mods(relics in particular), and assault mode. That game was a success.

Unreal Tournament 2003 changes the original into a lame game. There are all new guns, and worst of all... There are uninspired new maps. The new 2-fort is a sand like level that doesn't have the same feeling. The other maps just don't have anything to be talked about. The all new guns I mentioned? Crap. They all blow except the redeemer. The new sniper rifle(lighting gun!) is retarded. The new pistol is pretty stupid. There's also a gun now which instead of doing damage, it pushes the opponent. This is rather useless in pretty much any situation. If you are on the top of a tower it is good, but that is rare.

Get the original Unreal Tournament or Unreal Tournament 2004. They both rock, and this game can just be skipped. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A pretty good game overall.
Pros:
-fun gameplay
-great creat a player feature
-great graphics
-good songs
-great commentary

Cons:
-franchise mode sucks!!!!(you can finish all 20 years in a day)
-no trade a player feature (you are stuck with all of the old rosters and cannot even change the lineup)

overall, this game is just okay, but I am sure that there are better games out there

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun But Easy...
I know this is kind of late to write about All-Star Baseball 2005. When it first came out back in March, I thought it would have no competion. Past ASB games had ruled the baseball video game world, and I thought this game would rock.

The first thing that is good with it is all the featurettes. The TWIB interview thing is really cool, and the whole baseball card collecting thing is great. The situations are cool and the stadium tour thing is cool. Overall, the game's features are good.

As for gameplay and graphics, that is why it is not MVP Baseball 2004. The game is way too easy. I was playing with the Mets and Danny Garcia was hitting .450. I had a winning record playing as the Pittsburgh Pirates. The only way I kept up with it was putting it on legend and taking every helper off (pitch aid, strike zone). The graphics though, it seemed that MVP has the best graphics around and this can't stack up.

The new camera modes are cool, especially the Broadcast camera; it actually looks like you are watching a real game. The fielder cam was pretty good, but if they can fix it up next year, it will rise to the top.

The most impressive thing about the game is the stadiums and the crowd detail. The stadiums looked identical to the real thing. The fake advertisements made it feel like you were at the stadium. Shea Stadium even had the ribbon around the Twin Towers on the top of the scoreboard. The old stadiums are great. If you could mash together MVP Baseball's graphics and gameplay with ASB's stadiums and franchise mode, you would have one helluva game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game.
In my eyes there has never been a good All Star Baseball game untill 05. The Franchise is very nice and so is the expansion teams. Pickup Games are very fun. The movments are very real. Xbox live is very fun. The stadiums are very very real. There is trivia between innings. I highly highly reccomend this game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dissappointing
this game is too easy. the only challenge is if u put it on legend and hit without the hitter aid and strike zone besides that any moron could hit the ball.

1-0 out of 5 stars Another All-Star Baseball game
The first person view is nice, but it is almost impossible to find the baseball, or field at all. This was almost worse than it's counter=part All-Star Baseball 2004! Batting is terrible, and you have almost no control of where your pitcher throws the ball, that's usally the best part of the game. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good game. Live 05 , 04 are mush better. Not worth it
I think this game was an okay game. It will be better if they were in allstar challenge games like dunking or 3 point shootout. The graphics are pretty good. But Nba live is better because everyshot goes in in Nba inside drive and on live it doesnt so it seems more realistic.

5-0 out of 5 stars NBA Inside Drive 2004
This is the best, most realistic basketball game I have ever played. It took a little bit to get used to it, but when you do, it is incredible.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST of the Best
This game rocks!! My absolute favorite part is that you control the game. That's right: YOU!!!!!! Don't like your favorite player's rating? That's perfectly all right, because you can change the rating. There is a general manager option on the menu. Select that and go to edit/delete players. Choose anyone YOU want and change that person's rating. It's awesome!!!!! The graphics are just totally great and the only thing I don't like is that the announcers suck.

5-0 out of 5 stars The only basketball game I will play!
I was a big fan of NBA 2k series and thought that would continue when the ESPN games came out. But being that this is an xbox exclusive I went with this and I can't believe how much better this game is than all the rest! NBA Live series I never liked and ESPN just seems outdated to me. This game is not repetitive at all! My team plays like my team, the teams I play against play like that team and my players play like they should! Dunks are always different, real time coaching is a great and I love CREATE YOUR OWN PLAYER! After you create your player put him on your favorite team and play! I don't know how any Xbox owner could get NBA Live or ESPN over Inside Drive! The only downfalls of the game is defense isnt as easy to play as offense and Shaq is on the cover, other than that the best NBA game out now! GET IT!

4-0 out of 5 stars Best game this year.
This game is all around great, except for a couple of flaws.
I't should have a better trade option, rookies should have been rated a little higher, speed should have been a little faster. Over all this game is graphicaly the best. Also player contact is always a plus and the post moves are awesome.NOW WE NEED NCAA INSIDE DRIVE! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best!!!!!!!!
This is well worth the money. as a this is my first navel game. Thear are no bugs that I know of in this game and the makers did a wonderfull gob. as I have lots of land games,I thout I would give this a try and I was amzad of how real it looked. I would recmmond this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars What AOS2 should have been
The game looks great and it is fun to play.It is what Age of Sail 2 should have been. Most of the bugs seem to be worked out.It still has problems, but it is a lot of fun for anyone interested in the genre.

4-0 out of 5 stars I like this game....
This is actuall a pretty decent game. It has bugs, but the idea and the execution are almost perefect for the type of warfare depicted.

Graphics a reasonable, the interface is a little hard to figure out at first. They definitly need a few more patches to be released quickly. I understand that it plays well as a multi player game, but have been unable to find locate anyone else that is playing. There are several groups on the web, but they have not been responding to my messages.

If you have not sailed before, this game may be a little difficult at first. I also read a lot of books on the subject so that I am familiar with most of the strategies that were actually used in this period.

The scenarios are long. Thank goodness there is a game speed adjustment. It looks like you can go all the way up to 16X speed. Naval warfare of this period was usually long and drawn out. A very long period in which someone is being chased, followed by a quick clash of arms, then another chase as the defeated ships flee the scen and the victorious ships captures the damaged enemy...

The AI is not too bright. But, if you give him the advantage in ships, wind and weather, you have a pretty decent player upon which to practice your ship handling skills as well as fleet meneuvers. By the way, different ships move at different speeds depending on size and weight. You have to constantly watch spacing between ships so that you don't ram while doing meneuvers.

If they ever get this game fixed (probably in AoS 4) it will be a great game. I wish that Microsoft would host it on the Zone. That would be a big push to get it played by more people.

3-0 out of 5 stars Beta tested in Europe, but not available in Europe
The AoS2 community is really waiting for this game. Quite a few of them were beta testers from Europe. What happens the game does not come to Europe! Very dissapointed.
The game seems to be better then AoS2, more realistic...

Arno

3-0 out of 5 stars Cool concept, lousy execution
If fast action is your taste, look elsewhere. If historical gameplay is to your liking, this title works. However, the nut and bolts of the game are poorly implemented. The game plays like an early beta release, all of the patches help but it is still a buggy game, bottom line.Such a shame, as the graphic engine does an admirable job of rendering the ships and their surroundings.Hope the follow up game I've been reading about istested and proven more thoroughly when it is released than this one was. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Its nice
I have not had time to enjoy MW4 online with the pack, but I like what I have seen. I hope that MW5 debuts soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
This is an "expansion" to Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance. Which is an awesome game as well. In this pack you get 4 new mechs,2 new maps to play in, and some other stuff. You can play MW4 online with other people. If you like the Mechwarrior Series, you'll like this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!

4-0 out of 5 stars Stop wasting time and make us MW5!
Expansions often take time out that could be used for more things, like making a sequel to MW4:M.This isn't as good as the Clan pack, but it's ok.

Zeus: MW4:M has more assault mechs than any other MW game.12 of them.Add this and it's 14.This mech is ok.80 tons, 70 mph, LAMS.It carries a Lg Laser, 2 LRM 15, and HEAVY GAUSS RIFLE, my new favorite weapon.I replace weapons with that of clan, throw on more heat sinks and there you go.If you really want to use the HGR, take the Fafnir, it's got 2. 4/5

Hunchback: Goes pretty fast for 50 tons. The weapons are kind of stupid.2 med lasers, SRM 6, but the LBX AC 20 is nice. Not my favorite.2/5

Dragon: NO ARMOR AT ALL!85 mph, no jump jets, but I can live with that. The mech looks decently cool, but the weapons are very lame.Med laser, LRM 10, AC 5, HGR (only good one) 3/5

Highlander: The Zeus is better, but these weapons are ok.You better know how to aim if you want to win with the HGR, GR, Lg Lasers.4/5

The clan pack is better, brother, get that first.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good supplement, could have been better
If you are a MechWarrior 4 fanatic (like I am) then this expansion is probably a good buy.The 4 new mechs are excellent, I especially like the Zeus (a fast assault mech) and the Hunchback (a medium sized mech which can carry quite a heavy loadout of weapons.)It is also possible to arm the Dragon which is included with 4 Clan Ultra Autocannon 5s, which gives it quite a bit of punch for its size -- I've even taken down a Daishi (a very heavy, dangerous assault mech) with it, though only with luck helping out.The new weapon, the Heavy Gauss, is a bit more dubious in my view -- it takes up 4 slots, weighs 18 tons, and does 27 points of damage with a long reload time. The fact that it takes 4 slots means that there are lots of mechs you simply can't put it on, and I haven't been able to get a combination as deadly as the one I have on my Variant 1 Daishi: 4 Clan ER Large Lasers and 3 Clan Gauss Rifles, which can take down any mech with two shots (to get all those weapons on there, just lower its engine rating to free up weight). ... you should probably buy the main game -- this is, after all, a supplement which won't work at all without Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance installed and running. The IFF Jammer is basically useless unless you are playing against bots (computer players). Finally, there are two maps in this game -- Coliseum (one of my favorites, with a few cool details -- try shooting at the force fields that are protecting the crowd around the edge of the arena, for instance!) and Gagetown.I thought it was worth the price, but I don't know if I would if I weren't a fanatic -- there's nothing in this that'll allow you to beat my Daishi Variant 1, which was made with the basic game! :) ... It's not Need For Speed Underground 2 but what do you expect. You get what you pay for. I like that it has custom soundtracks and good graphics but the cars and trucks don't turn very good. It has 55 cars/trucks and 26 tracks. It does not have a in car dash view. The replays are fun to watch. 5-0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the next one.
This is a very fun game with a good group of people playing it. I only wish that I had more time to play it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever.
Starsiege is hands-down the best game to come out on the market. I myself am a vetern of this action-packed fast-paced game. I lead my own squad, the Starsiege Mafia, and I've seen all there is to see. A person's first impression is to look at the graphics, yet why dare comparing graphics against gameplay? The controls are a bit harsh to the "newbie" but he becomes familiar with time. The sad truth is, people don't want to play because it takes over a week, and maybe even a year, just to adjust yourself properly to the game. And others are just so lazy, they don't want to endure the hardships of teamwork, which, sadly, I have witnessed personally within the game. And also, take Izzy's advice, he's the ultimate modder. What makes this game so great is the fact that it does take teamwork, effort, time, and sometimes, for us mappers, imagination. A lot do not like the idea of, how did gamespot put it.."Man-made maps", but that's the fun of it!! The ideas in your brain come out in these maps! Overall, get this game, and, amazon, start charging more for it. It deserves much more credit than what you give.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Classic Game
I miss the days when games were so much fun. This is the first game I played as a multi-player. The graphics are low compared to today's standard, but good enough to keep things interesting. It's just a fun game to play.

4-0 out of 5 stars limitless possiblities for flights
With a few simple codes, you can fly any thing from 'Air Force One' to 'V-22 Osprey' to a 'B-2 Stealth Bomber' to a forward wing design aircraft to a Tomcat. It even has a reference section with so much information on aircraft and other machines that it has be on a separate disc from the rest of the game!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fighters Antthology
I haven't played many flight sims but I do like this one a lot. The graphics aren't the greatest but they aren't to bad, sound is pretty good, and the ability to play it over and over it a big plus. There also is a lot of info on the planes that you fly which is cool. One problem though is I can't seem to find the web site for it or any janes game. Overall I think that this is a great game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty outmoded, but oh the choices you have...
The graphics wernt even all that great when it came out, the game play is pretty boxed, and the scenery is just an updated version of the flat terrane of the old Falcon 3.0, and the flight models are simplified at best.

But....

the sheer scope of this game in theater and platform makes up for its now obsolete gameplay. 100+ different aircraft, 50 different weapons (plus the ability to mod in nuclear weapons) a dozen theaters, a hundred nations. Wow. Israel VS Jordan, Turkey VS Greece, Japan VS Russia, France VS normal people! The options are endless. Gameplay is quick and slick, and the mission builder while lacking the complexity of most modern day builders, still gives the game a lot of replayability. The campaigns are allright, especially the Vietnam campaign which offers the best graphics of the game.

To quote Vladimere Illyich Lenin "Quantity has a quality all its own", and this game certainly lives up to that idiom. It would be wonderful to see Janes do a remake of this game using the detailed sort of 'voxel-space' type graphics we saw in their release of "IAF: Israeli Air Force" with the HD JPG graphics used on the fighters and ground vehicles in that game. While it may be fun to fly the plethora of sierra-hotel F-15/16/18/22/117 or MiG-29/Su-27 simulators out there, there is something to be said to be able to fly a Bosnian Su-7MBK fitter or BAE Strikemaster type aircraft that makes up the real numbers in the airforces in the world. It may take a good F-22 flyer to defeat a Su-35 in single combat but it takes a real ace to beat something like an F-15 in a Vietnam era MiG or Mirage.

For the price of the game today (under [price]) its a great buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than the sum of its parts...but not by much
Just because we can keep 30 year old fighter planes in active service doesn't mean that we should try to do the same thing with computer games about fighter planes. But EA keeps at it anyway with "Fighters Anthology", a compilation of previous fighter's titles, with some added bells and whistles for multiplayer as well. Those older games themselves show roots stretching back to the original "LHX Attack Chopper" of 1990.FA throws in the meat of USNF, "NATO Fighters" and ATF, but little else.Unfortunately, the qualitative differences of those games aren't so great, and you might just as well have picked up any one of those older games. In each of the older games, you were able to fly single or multiplayer missions in a variety of aircraft. You could fly single missions or campaigns, or even craft short missions using the mission editor.Though the campaigns limited you to a few planes, you had a much larger choice of aircraft in single missions (In ATF Gold, you could fly anything from an A-10 to the Russian Tu-160; from the unlovely AC-130 to the F-22; from the hoary old MiG-21 to some exotic experimental types that have never left a drawing board; you could even pit F-14's against F-5E's ala "Top Gun").The problem was repetitive gameplay - the planes were dirt simple in terms of flying and avionics.Though each plane came with its own instrument panel, they were just for show - you could turn them off and not notice the difference; you got the real data from pop-up screens. The surface scenery, though using the naturally contoured terrain standard since "Falcon 3.0", is otherwise so bland and featureless, that they recalled 1991's "Chuck Yeager's Air Combat".Gameplay boiled down to the same two things - take out a primary target on the ground (like an HAS); splash an airborne target (or targets in the case of one mission against a host of incoming B-52's).Even though the missions were generic, they were also linear - you flew the same mission until you've achieved the mission goals. That is, that the missions were pre-scripted, but not even scripted that well.(EF2000 also has simple missions, but is campaigns were dynamic and, being a single plane game, was much more detailed. It also had much more modest system requirements)In each case, the story was always the same - too few wingmen against to many targets and threats. And boy, does it get tired fast. When you've reached a point where all you're doing is dogfighting, the games shine - but that's not enough to distract you from the cartoonish gameplay, crude flight dynamics and blocky graphics.Putting all of the Fighters titles together doesn't really add much, since any one of the games will have enough features alone to keep you coming back - just not enough flavor to hold you for long after your return. To its credit, FA has a much meatier multiplayer option than its predecessors, one allowing for broader conflicts - you can even hop into one of those self-propelled ack-ack guns like "Zip-23" and take over while on the ground. It's actually a lot of fun, but not enough to overcome the unreality of the game as a flight simulation. Also, though this is packaged in a box as a "classics" title, there is no printed manual, only (as ina jewel-box edition, bane of gamners!!) a CD manual in Adobe .pdf format. You can print it out, if you know somebody at Kinkos (it's a biggy) or if you work on weekends, and nobody notices a missing ream of printer paper.Instead, I'd go for USAF with its better graphics or, if you've got a mighty machine, wait a spell for Janes next crack at a "survey sim" game - you know you never have to wait long for a Jane's game to come out, or at least get previewed. If you've got an older machine like a low end Celeron or an early P2, FA or the other Fighters titles (other than IAF) will probably be the best you can fly.If you try and pick up one of the older "Fighters" games, you'll get a slightly weaker game, but perhaps a manual you can actually read.In short - if you already own ATF, USNF Marine Fighters or NATO Fighters, save your cash. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Great oldie but shows its age
Don't get me wrong, this is the great game that started the whole real war FPS thing going around now (there's actually some for Vietnam, I know war is war but that just seems wierd to me).
The only real reason to get this game though is if your computer is more than 3 years old and can't handle more excellent fare like Call of Duty. But the game has some great levels, the best being D-Day.The game does a good job showing the desperation of getting to the other side of that beach. But after playing a few different games, the graphics are pretty lame. And I found the you-vs.-Germany thing a little stupid. But for anyone who wants to enter the world of PC gaming with a less than current PC, you could do a lot worse.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great
I have had this game since it came out. I always enjoyed it. If you only Like The TOP of the LINE NEWESt graphics this game isnt good for you. the graphics arnt number one but It's a great game. Doing the single player missin once if real fun. But after that it gets boring, but for multiplayer after 1 and a half years I still enjoy it. This is a great multiplayer game when you fund a good clean server(one without people hacking and cheating to win). Althought in about a month this game will be dieing as a new medal of honor comes out. if u wan tto play for that short time I say BUY IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to save your progress
Tried playing this game on the xBox but it got buggy and froze. The PC version is great.Lots more levels, too.For the best candles and soaps, please visit homespun-candles-soap.com

4-0 out of 5 stars It is still very good
Although this is now a dated game, the twenty dollar price is hard to resist.
Think about it... twenty dollars for two great WWII games.
The graphics are not the best but that does not seem to be a hinderance on an enjoyable experience.
There are some things that I find annoying about this game though. First, it is not realistic. In almost every mission you are alone defeating a whole army of nazis. That annoys me alot. That never happened, it never will in the next 100 wars. People are dumb enough to let a single man infiltrate the whole country and get away with it while killing a whole brigade. It just doesnt happen.
Second, Lag. Online is fun but unless you have a good computer or alot of disk space your ping will be well over 75. Thus causing the server to slow down and the framerate takes a nosedive.
Other than that this is definately worth the twenty dollars.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is HOT!!!
This game can be described in 5 words, out of this world fun. This is the first ww2 fps game I have and I think this game is nothing but intensely fun. I strongly recommend all fps game lovers to purchase this game as soon as possible, cause it can get so addictive, you would'nt be able to put it down.It gave me weeks and weeks of intense fun, and left me begging for more! ... Amazon.com Review

Bungie Software shattered real-time strategy norms with its 1997 release, Myth: The Fallen Lords. Eschewing the tried-and-true formula pioneered by such classics as Command & Conquer and WarCraft, Myth broke through the shackles of resource management and unit creation and put strategy and combat at the forefront. In fact, perhaps Myth erected its own genre--the real-time tactical game.

Myth: The Total Codex combines the original Myth: The Fallen Lords with its sequel, Myth II: Soulblighter, and the expansion pack Myth II: Chimera. Equipped with over 50 single-player levels, dozens of multiplayer maps, and nearly a CD full of user-created levels, maps, and modifications, Myth: The Total Codex is a package that no strategy gamer should pass up.

The beauty of Myth lies in the interaction between its well-balanced, fantasy-based units. For example, archers (bowmen in Myth II) can shoot arrows with frightening speed and accuracy, but get pummeled by melee units unless they're protected; dwarves toss devastating bombs, but poor rate of fire and unpredictability sometimes make them a liability; and the powerful Trow Giant can eliminate nearly every unit in a single blow, but is too slow to overcome a force of greater numbers. Myth's intuitive interface, featuring a rotating camera system, the ability to zoom in and out of battle, plus unit formation and waypoints, allows for precise control of your army.

Though its single-player game never ceases to entertain, it's Myth: The Total Codex's multiplayer game that shines. Players trade for available units (the more powerful the unit, the more expensive it is) and compete on vibrant, varied terrain in games like Last Man on the Hill, King of the Hill, Territories, and Capture the Flag.If you've never experienced Bungie Software's brilliant real-time tactical game, Myth: The Fallen Lords or Myth II: Soulblighter, do yourself a favor and plunge into its fantasy world of strategic combat with the complete compilation, Myth: The Total Codex. --Doug Radcliffe

Pros:

  • Three full-length single-player campaigns
  • Excellent multiplayer support on Bungie's free online service
  • Intuitive and highly customizable interface
  • Windows and Macintosh versions are included on the same CD
Cons:
  • If you already have Myth and Myth II, the expansion pack might not justify the price

5-0 out of 5 stars The orginal Collection from Bungie
Comes with 2 classic games:
1) Myth The Fallen Lords
2) Myth 2 Soulblighter

Also includes various expansion packs and strategy guides for both Myth games.

This is one of the best deals I ever picked up. The games may be dated, but they are still awesome nonetheless. BTW - the cutscenes in these games rival anthing that Blizzard has even produced, so I highly recommend this bundle from Bungie.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Demo Is The Best Way To Decide: Look For A Demo
The best game in the world? Or a colorful frisbee? Look for a game site with a demo to download, and you decide for yourself. I am not a big fantasy gamer nor am I a RTS player. A friend gave me Myth Of The FallenLords and I tried it because I have an 800 Mhz Pentium III and I fell inlove with Myth. It works beautifully - you've got to endure the learningcurve, but, for me, it was worth it. Hating a game because it isn'tinstantly mastered or "easy" to begin playing, isn't the best wayto judge. I enjoy this game immensely, but you may hate it. Find a demo.Try it.

5-0 out of 5 stars How could anyone give this game 1 star?
...This game has superb graphics, gameplay, story, multiplayer, sound, editors, and everything in between.

It is simplythe BEST GAME OF ALL TIME. Period.Spend a bit of time learning the interface (and basic tactics), and you will find a deep, satisfying game...

I'll put it this way: Myth is not for everyone. If you are so obsessed with "tank rushes," or rely solely on reflexes to beat a game, Myth's depth of play will likely disappoint you. For everyone else, this is the game that will keep you going for ever.

This concludes my review.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great game with its own flaws
This is a great game.I will stay there. It requires all kinds of thought and mastery of military strategy.Overall the game looks amazong, and the blood & gore is second to only Soldier of Fortune.

Thisgame's downfalls however made it nearly unplayable. The game runs absurdlyslow on my system, which is currently a 533 mhz system. This really makesfor an awful experience. One you get to the later levels, you will havemore load time than play time.

I really recommend this if you have asmoking system, it really is great, however, if you run less than a 533mhz, you are not in for a treat.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all
First, the bad news. This game can be extremely hard on the beginner, but practice the unit controls and camera movements, and it should get easier.Myth II is easier to navigate because you can use the mouse for cameramovements.

Now the good part.In almost every strategy game I've played,I had to worry about resources constantly.Myth doesn't have that problem. The tactical aspects of the game are amazing; if you hope to survive, youneed to know exactly how to use each of your units. You can't rely on"tank rush" tactics like in traditional strategy games, becausein most cases you are completely outnumbered. Finally, the music is juststunning, and I recommend you buy the soundtrack from Bungie Software. These games may frustrate the beginner, but the persistant gamer will finda lot to enjoy here. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars this game sucks vs. computer
i have it for the computer not ps2 but it sucks if you play against the computer.the gameplay vs. computer basically goes like this...you either block there shot or it going in.not real at all.you could block 20 shots with one player in this game on a good night.you could block 10 every game.the point guard from there team could be rated low and dominate a game.this game is garbage but the only reason i gave it 2 stars is cuz it has good moves and realistic looking moves.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun arcade game, but very weak overall
If you want a simple arcade basketball game, you'll be happy with NBA Live 2003.However, serious gamers should avoid this game like the plague. The serious negatives include:
1.There is no way to play D.Occasionaly you can take a charge, but blocking a drive to the hoop is way too hard, stopping a drive is near impossible.
2.Fast Breaks are available on every play.Again this is totally unrealistic
3.Your players never get tired. No need to sub.
4.In Franchise mode, even if you win, your players always want out.I've played multiple sims with a variety of teams and keeping your stars (or attracting new ones) is very difficult.

Overall, this game is so unrealistic I'd avoid even renting the thing. If you want just a fast-break, coast to coast, arcade game though, you'll be satisfied.

4-0 out of 5 stars An addictive game but needs improving
I got excited when the game came came out and when i got it, it was the only game i played for the next 3 weeks. Then, i got bored with it. I realized the game needed improving. If an all star with good shooting skills is wide open and he shoots, he will miss. But, a poor shooter goes for the three with 2 or 3 men in his face, he makes it. Strange. what also needs improving is the less fouls. Really, i run up a guy, and he doesn't lay finger on the ball handler, but commits a foul. I don't get that, and it's really annoying. Clearly this game needs work. Since nba live 2004 came out and it is marvelous, i hope the same for nba live 2005.

4-0 out of 5 stars ridiculous problems
Problems:
1. Any time you get like a 10-point lead, your team will now miss every dunk and lay-up until the CPU evens the score. This is not an exaggeration.I am completely serious.Strangely, however, sometimes you'll start a franchise team that will never have this problem. But I'd say 4 out of 5 will have the dunk/lay-up problem.

2. Any CPU point guard with a 3-point icon will be the leading scorer for the CPU team, draining threes with people in his face every time, against set defenses. If you play the Lakers, for example, Shaq won't miss, but will only end up with 10 points on 5-for-5 shooting, while Derek Fisher will end up with 33 on 11-for-20 three-point shooting.

3. If you have a lead in the last minute, the CPU will hit every three-pointer anyone but the worst shooter puts up, and will steal the ball from you most times, but, oddly, will not intentionally foul.

4. Nobody gets open on the inbounds plays, and half of your team will be off-screen.

5. No good player will resign with your franchise after a season if their contract is up, even if you win it all. They will, however, settle for a one-year contract for minimum pay with a crappy team. All the superstars end up with such contracts, but you do not have the option to negotiate prices and cannot sign superstars, who demand full price from you.

6. Most rookies the game generates will be given a sub-par field-goal shooting ability, but an above-average three-point shooting ability. In other words, can't hit from 15 feet, but can hit from 25.

There are other problems that make you think the development team was on crack when they made it, but, as one of the great mysteries of the universe, this game is still very fun and addictive to play. Why, God, why?

3-0 out of 5 stars This Game Is Good, But Not Good Enough
Ok so I was crazy about this game when it came out, then I bought it and it was a great game. but after a while the game comes repetitive, Such as if you do a season on a hard skill level your oppenent has great speed and they will score every time you miss a shot on the fast Break. Also when you are on a fastbreak the oppenent will block you off with there amazing speed. Also if you're playing and you start to get careless in the game(and believe me you will get careless} they will take total advantage of you. Also the oppenent will score at will every time even if its Shawn Bradely driving to the whole. And if youre trying to cross them to the hole they will block you off and you will get called with the Charge.
