4-0 out of 5 stars A great compilation with some flaws
Overall, this collection of Megaman games isn't too bad. There are a few flaws, but the good overshadows the bad.

Most people complain about the controls (with the B button being jump and A being fire). But if you're not giving this game a chance simply because of this, you've given up much too easily. I will concede that the controls should have been customizable, however, it doesn't take long to get used to this setup.

All eight classic Megaman games are here, along with two unlockable bonus games, Megaman Power Fighters and Megaman Power Fighters (previously released only in arcades). While the remixed music from the Playstation 2 version is absent, this version still has the "Navi Mode", which features hints and improved in-game weapon menu graphics for the NES games.

All the games play like their old selves, and while the graphics may be simple, the games are still a lot of fun. I recommend this to anyone who wants an old-school challenge or eight.

4-0 out of 5 stars Flawed
The games in this compilation are excellent. I am not concerned with how good this compilation is. I will just say that it is excellent. The games were badly ported. For one, the controls are messed up for the GC version. In the GC version, you cannot access the remixed music. You should still buy it, but if you have a PS2, that is the version you should get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard But So Rockingly FUN!!!!
Writer: Kole
Despite that Mega man anniversary collection is hard it's really cool! But it being hard is cool! My overall favorite dude is in mega man 8, the clown boss!

"this is no joky matter" and "You don't stand a chance" are his two beggining annoying lines! He says them in a really baby weenie way. Mega man anniversary collection also has two never released in the U.S. games, Tons of special feature stuff and tons of levels to explore!

I also like that in Mega man 8, you get bolts in the levels and can buy things!

After every boss you defeat you also get new attacks, for example, after defeating the clown boss you get the electro beam thing, mega man changes color and you can shoot a beam of electricifing destruction!

The power battles {games 9 and 10 I think, mybe just 9} You get to do two player, To any mega man fan or not, I highly recommend this kick butt game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Better Than a Lot of the 3D Platformers Out There...
The amazing thing about some older games is how well they age. Case in point--"Mega Man Anniversary Collection," a collection of Mega Man's 8 "Classic" series games, plus two unlockable arcade games that were never released in the U.S.

The formula for a "Mega Man" game is as follows: select a stage, defeat the boss, use their weapon to destroy some other boss, rinse lather, and repeat, until all bosses are defeated. Now, trek to Dr. Wily's fortress, go through the 3 or 4 stages there, and then meet up with a really huge robotic monstrosity at the end and defeat it. Now, try that for 8 games.

You know, viewing it as cut-and-dry as that, it seems like this might get tiring or even boring, but believe me, Capcom's little Blue Bomber manages to stay interesting and challenging all throughout the 10 different installments (though the arcade titles are a bit saccharine for my tastes). Considering the majority of these games were made ten to fifteen years ago, it speaks volumes on the integrity and experience that went into level design, character creation, and especially music. The older tracks may still be in their original 8- and 16-bit glory, but I dare you to listen to this masterful music and scoff. You'll be humming some of them the rest of the day, believe me.

These ports of the classic games run almost flawlessly, with most graphical glitches and flickering cut down to negligible or nonexistent levels. As far as changes go, there is now a hint-filled Navi mode for the first six games that eases younger or less-experiences players into Mega's big blue boots. You may use your shoulder buttons to flick through your special weapons' cache, a la "Mega Man"s 7 & 8, use in-game menus to manually save your game, or you can even dust off your old password notebook and use those to get right back to where you left these games years ago. One more interesting (and awfully helpful) feature is that a rapid-fire button has been added to your control set. Very handy indeed.

Also, one of the largest draws of this title, besides the classic gameplay stylings, are the unlockables that have been promised. Besides the aforementioned arcade games, original sketches of character art and remixed music can be unlocked after making certain amounts of progress through games. On the GameCube, you are also treated to a special unlockable video about the creation and history of Mega Man, complete with an interview with the creator himself, Keiji Inafune. On the PS2 version, I've been told you can unlock the first episode of the Saturday "Mega Man" cartoon show. Maybe we Kyoob owners did get a better deal here than the PS2 following...hmm...

But now comes the bad news. On the GameCube version (though I'm not sure this holds on the PS2), the button setup seems oddly reversed, and there is no option to change your control scheme. B is your jump button, and A fires your weapon. This makes no sense in the grand scheme of things, because it makes it very difficult to jump and fire at the same time, and due to the nature of the twitchy gameplay, the reversing of the buttons (and no option to change the settings) can get very, very frustrating. However, if you're willing to tough it out and face the fact that you won't get through those blasted snowboarding levels in "Mega Man 8" every time, you shouldn't slam your controller down too hard at the end of the day. Perhaps Atomic Planet should have taken a lesson from "Mega Man Network Transmission," and kept B as the traditional Fire button. At least that game got SOMETHING right.

Also, I noticed that some of the voice samples in MM8 (while--unfortunately--being as terrible as the originals) were either sped up or slowed down, for whatever reason. It's especially apparent in Aqua Man's voice--I mean, I knew it was high, but I don't think it was originally that high.

The look of these titles is spot-on with everything in the originals, which means if you want the graphical prowess that some games today offer (i.e. "Halo" or "Zelda"), take your money elsewhere.

The bottom line concerning MMAC: it's a collection of top-notch platforming titles that helped build Capcom's empire, a genuinely fun time-travel trip, and a worthy tribute to our buddy the Blue Bomber.

5-0 out of 5 stars At last, the good Mega Man!
Take it from me, Mega Man is not doing so good these days. This brings brings back the best moments he ever had. A lot of people are complaining about the controller, but you will get used to it. The only game not worth it is Mega Man 7. Also, a lot are complaining about the graphics. What do you expect from the orginal NES games (Exclude arcade and MM 8)?
In order to unlock the special features such as the hidden games or music, you need to get to a certain point in each of the eight games.
A good thing about this is that you can now set the game on easy instead of super hard.
It is so hard, it will rip your arm off and beat you with it. But if you put enough hours, you can win by instinct.
The game is so hard, I feel for you. Just click on my name and look for my e-mail at the bottom of about me. Send me an request and I will send you a guide for exposing the bosses weaknesses. Unless you actually know me, please do not put anything personal in the request. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this game because it is fun and very challening. You really have to think for some of the parts, because they are tricky. I love the jungle scenes, they look so cool. The graphics are very nice too. Alot of the levels are hard, though. It's really cool how there is a talking jaguar! The enemies are mostly the natives. You see them alot but if you sweep kick them once or twice, they are usually dead. This game isn't violent either. This is the best game ever to walk this Earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Vision
The graphics for this game are WAY too dark.My family couldn't see well unless we had our face right up to the screen. Not for those who value their eyesight!
What we did play(before accruing a giant headache) was fun and interesting; but no one in the family can see the game well enough to play it.
For this reason, I don't recommend this game.Save your money!

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid platformer
We have a problem. We expect too much out of games. We expect every new platformer to somehow revolutionize the genre. This is why Pitfall has received little acclaim; it tries nothing new. And you know what? That's okay. Sometimes a simple romp in the jungle can bring hours of fun, which is exactly what you'll get if you just like straight platform action without having to deal with level objectives and collect-a-thons and "clever" takes which ultimately go bad. Pitfall stays true to its roots, packs a lot of charm, and is fun to the very end. Unfortunately, the end is sooner than I would like. This shortness, and a few bugs in the game, cause me to knock a star out, but I still highly recommend Pitfall as a weekend rental to adventure/platform fans.

4-0 out of 5 stars My kids and I love it!
This is one of our family's favorite.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I found that the game was ok the only thing was that it was a one player game when there is so many games out there what are more then one player me i would say that i would not buy it for myself for this reason i only got beacse i got for a gift

4-0 out of 5 stars excellent
this is great awesome action/adventure game.if u think ur too old for teenage mutant ninja turtles thats fin, but the game is awesome.great graphics and action.four people can play at the same time!all i hab to say is that this game is the bomb.

2-0 out of 5 stars This is NOT the turtles I knew?
I was looking forward to playing the new turtles game because like a few others on here, I grew up with the turtles from the 80's. Now I am a HUGE fan of changing stories up and making things more interesting, but these turtles were cheesy!!!
The boss fights in the Arcade version and other turtle games were FAR more exciting and a lot less repetitive. I played the game through and recognized only about 2 enemies from the original: Shredder and Stockman. Who are these other people?? And why is April and Casey this white-trash couple now??!!
Anyway, the gameplay was good and so were the graphics, but if you think you are getting old school turtles...RUN FAR AWAY.

P.S Whats with the new theme song??? GeeZZZZ

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game but VERY long...
This game is very reminicent of the older geration TMNT games but it's MUCH more action packed...Anyone who thinks that this is the 4th TMNT game brought to a Nintendo system obviously forgets that there were 3 TMNT action games and a fighting game released for the NES,TMNT IV and TMNT Tournamrnt fighter for SNES and the 3 TMNT games released for Gameboy...

This new game, as well as, the new FoxBox cartoon, is based on the comic book, while the old school games are based on the older cartoon from more than a decade ago.I'm very impressed with this game EXCEPT for the ending...The ending IS NOT worth the effort you put into this game(4-5+ HOURS!!)...

I just hope the sequel's ending will be better than the ending for this otherwise fun game.My ONLY gripe about this game is the repetitive sound effects get annoying after a while...

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute and colorful but too childish
From a graphics point of view this game is very impressive. Sadly from a gameplay angle it's kind of limited and every level is basically the same thing.

This could basically be described as a side-scrolling beat-em-up, though the uncontrollable camera POV becomes very annoying. And compared with old-school games of the same genre, it doesn't hold up. Pow, biff, bam, smack! It just goes on and on for the whole game.

There are some levels that could have been cool, like the rooftop or subway stages. How cool would it have been to chuck the bad guys off the roof or onto the subway tracks? Very, but an invisible wall prevents this from happening. It's so disappointed that a lot of exploration is cut short. In the subway level trains rocket past in the tunnels on either side of you, but in the middle tunnel (where you battle loads of bad guys) there's no trains at all. Most levels are this way, there's just no REAL interaction with the environment.

The Streets of Rage games on the Genesis were better. It's the same thing. The city is overrun with thugs headed by a big boss. You beat them up and kill the boss. TMNT does not improve on this concept. Cute graphics though.

It's also kind of easy. The game is totally aimed at kids. I've seen better, I've seen worse. But I would suggest renting the game as it's long-time appeal is drastically short. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Spider-Man: The Movie brings your friendly neighborhood web slinger to life with engrossing realism, proving that a superhero game of such complex nature can be achieved with nearly flawless and nonintrusive gameplay. Be it wandering the city's environs in search of villains, or just checking out your surroundings by web-swinging high above them, you truly can do whatever Spider-Man can. It's all here: high-flying aerial battles, the ability to web up and yank your enemies close for pummeling, and the capacity for crawling or web-zipping up, down, and over any surface--and that's just for starters. All in all, this is one involved game that does not fail to live up to the hype.

The game parallels the motion picture's story line, steering you through a progression of challenges that begins with the hunt for Uncle Ben's murderer, and ends with a final showdown with the Green Goblin. You begin as Peter Parker dressed in his wrestling costume and must defeat a variety of thugs throughout each level before advancing to the next set of challenges. The game gets progressively tougher as you encounter, in turn, Shocker, the Vulture, Scorpion, and, of course, the Green Goblin.

Visually, Spider-Man is a treat: cityscapes unfold in realistic detail and are enhanced by sunlight shining between buildings; cutscenes offer seamless animation; interiors are painstakingly re-created; and Spider-Man and his enemies are well rendered, moving about the screen in clean fashion. As an added bonus, most characters are voiced by their movie counterparts, and the training mode features the sarcastic wit of Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell. --Larry White

Pros:

  • Detailed controls bring Spider-Man to life
  • Challenging gameplay enhanced by numerous fight styles
  • Stunning visuals at every level
Cons:
  • Camera angles slow to respond at times
  • Some interiors too dark
  • Repetitive one-liners

2-0 out of 5 stars Pathetic
This game isn't nearly worth what I payed for it. The camera for the game is backwords and you can't fix it, and it has other camera glitches that get very irritating. I decided to get a cheat so I could play the last level instead of wasting my time, but five minutes looking for the cheat wasn't worth playing the last level. I beat spider-man 1 for the playstation 1 at least 7 times and I would recommend it instead of spider-man the movie if you have a playstation 1. (...)

2-0 out of 5 stars im sorry this games pathetic
its waaaaaaay to simple it takes 5 minute a mission thats 5 times 22 it equals 110 minutes of gameplay that not even two hours.even oon hard mode its simple.Im sorry i just dont understand why it got peoples choice but i hate it. but the graphics are all right and the fighting is all right thats why it got 2 stars. But its just way to simple even on hard mode.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the most fun game in the world! You can throw tires at the bad guys!Fighting Vulture is the best!FUN FUN FUN!!(...)

4-0 out of 5 stars Does whatever a spider can....almost
A key part of the marketting machine for summer blockbusters is a tie-in game. Usually these are horrible efforts, lacking originality, taking major liberties and expecting the license to sell the resulting mess. Amongst a sea of these, Spider-Man is a tie-in game done right.
The story of the game is similar to the film but also takes cues from the comics as well as some ideas from the game creators. You start off on the trail of Uncle Ben's killer, swinging from roof top to roof top to try and get information from local thugs (the implausibility of them all being on the rooftops as they are is nicely spoofed in the dialogue of a side quest). This leads you to a warehouse where you discover your Uncle's killer is a gang leader. You have to battle through the rest of his goons to ultimately get a showdown with him. Afterwards the game has you facing off against well known Spidey villains as well as OsCorp, who are after Spidey to study his blood for their human enhancement serum. After getting familair with all your skills and staying one step ahead of OsCorp's efforts, your greatest enemy enters onto the stage- the sinister Green Goblin.

The range of combat available is impressive. The game takes Spidey's webbing and agility into account to create some interesting attacks. Web enemies up, swing them around and even go for a piggy back ride. Your attacks can be upgraded by collecting golden spider icons hidden throughout the levels. The more attacks you unlock, the more fun you can have combining them into cool combos to take out enemies. The levels are large enough to encourage exploration and experimentation. That's not to say that there isn't problems- in the outside levels, trying to go down to the sidewalk will cost you a life. You're stuck just swinging from building to building and fighting airborne enemies. Thankfully this has been corrected for the sequel.
Completing a level requires you to fill mission objectives. For example, you may be required to help the police fight thugs, rescue civillains in peril or keep up with a fleeing villain. If you know where you're going you should have no trouble completing the neccesary tasks.

The game has some star voice talent in the form of Toby Maguire, Willem Dafoe and Bruce Campbell. Maguire's work as Spidey is a mixed bag- sometimes he nails his lines and other times he sounds like he wants to be elsewhere. Spidey will throw out random quips as you play, which your enemies will reply. Call them ugly and they'll tell you where to shove it. Sadly, the game seems to favour the same one liners over and over which can get annoying. Dafoe plays Norman/the Goblin as well as he did in the film. He really seems to be enjoying himself and makes Goblin the menacing villain he needs to be. Campbell brings his well known humour to the game. He's the narrator for the training levels and the in game tips you'll encounter early on. He brings a spirit of fun to the proceedings, coming out with some of the best lines of the game. Didn't take the training levels before you started playing the game? Campbell will put you in your place.

A fun part to the game is the cheats and unlockables. A well thought out bowling mini-game, animation tests and the ability to play the game as the Goblin are waiting for players who rack up enough points. The Goblin is well worth unlocking. Although the levels are the same as Spidey's, the Goblin (Norman's son Harry looking for answers) has different powers including super speed, pumpkin bombers and the Goblin glider.

In all, a great game and a display of how tie ins should be done. The sequel may have improved on most areas, but the original is still worth picking up.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY!!
This game is not worth buying. If you want a good Spider mangame pay the extra money and buy spider man 2. You will be glad you did. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars OH YEAH!
OK, before you hear my review, I have to tell you why I bought the game. My dad (who happens to be a motorcycle rider and got 3rd place in his class and got a high point once) is totally opposed to every game console other than the gameboys and the computer. Well, on the computer he is totally hooked on Motocross Madness. So, my grama and I got together, and she secretly bought me a gamecube. (I paid 75%, she took care of the 25% and bought it). Then I bought this game. You see, I wanted to ease my dad up to gamecube. IT WORKED! He loves it now, and doesn't mind it so much. He plays the game before every race, and he always does well. It really pumps him up. I'm not a motocycle rider, but I must say, this game is awesome! Thanks grama!

5-0 out of 5 stars Soo harsh
Everyone on here is putting this game down, im into this kind of game and EVERYTHIGN on this game is perfect..

Why would you want a game with easy controls...????People complainin about tha tricks being hard, BLah @ you all...you should be ashamed of yourself..Motocross is the TIGHEST sport, and you want easy controls? A is go, B is Brake, L is clutch...R is spring jump...How hard is that????

Tricks are just as easy, Hold R while in the air and Press a combonation of buttons...

How can you say thats hard? When you say thats hard, maybe you should realize that your to young to play the game..Games are made to be challenging, If you dont like a challenge, go buy Mario....

5-0 out of 5 stars MX SUPERFLY
I've had this game for a long time, and it's one of my favorite games. You get to play as one of the pros, or create your own. Better yet, you can also be a girl biker, and that's awesome! You can race your friends, start a game,or play mini-games like HORSE, and stuff. It's really good. And You Can Compete in season races. The music is good, as well as the graphics, and you can do many tricks, as well as put the pros to the test. If your considering buying this game for yourself, or as a gift, you might as well get it. It's an awesome game!

5-0 out of 5 stars sweet game
i just bought my game cube yesterday and this is the first game i bought i read some reviews that said it was impossible to do tricks and thats not true. the tricks were very easy to learn and once you learn them it makes the game even better.i reccomend this game to everyone

2-0 out of 5 stars one word...CRAP
Let me start out by saying that this is a really boaring & screwed up game. The first week you buy it you think its the greatest game you have ever play. But then after a couple of weeks the game starts to get boaring and you start to notice all the mistakes the game programmersmade.(wich is up in the hundreds) Then you think it cant get any worse.Well I hate to burst you're bubble but it does.At this point you're falling the same way, you keep doing the same tricks over and over again and by the end of the month you want to trade this game in for a new game but you dont and you continue playing this stupid game. And to top it all off in in about two days you will be writting a review on amazon vary similar to this one.I hope I have made my point not to buy this game. And well if you do then you are a stupid idiot.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hot Wheels Leading The Way!
Game is pretty fun for both kids and adults.Upside:battle mode was the best part of this game.My kids go wild each time we play.Downside:you only get 3 cars to start and you must unlock everything. There isn't enough pure racing in this game to suit me, but the kids luv it anyway. If you're into racing games, then wait for Fzero. If this is for your kids, then by all means get it.All in all, this is a fun game!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worthy of the name HotWheels.
Okay here's the deal there's a one player mode and a multiplayer mode. In one player you can either play Adventure mode which is the story. or you can play Chalenge mode which is simmilar exept no story and you can unlock more. There's also practice races and battles as well as JoyRide wich is free roming. IN multiplayer you can either battle or race. There's many cars too. Plus alot of cool weapons, like sonic boom, or ZapperCannon.
This is an overall good game, but don't expect it to blow you away.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game for Youngsters
I enjoys kids games and this one was no exception.Had A LOT of dialogue from the movie (almost like watching the movie while you play the game).A VERY easy game for adults, but a nice break. It took me about two hours to complete the entire game, but I opened only one of the bonus games.Overall a well put together game and a definite must have game for youngsters.A game with good values is hard to find in this day and age.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Admit, I thought it would suck
This video game looks like what you would find in a playhouse.I thought that it would suck, but I decided to rent this anyway. When I played it, I was suprised. The gameplay was good and it was one of those "if you're stressed, play this to feel better" games.I would recommend this to anyone who has a hard workday and needs time off.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST GAME ON EARTH!!!!!!
IM LOVIN IT!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game!
Okay I only have one complaint when there is a message thing coming on when you are facing a wall and your fairly close when the transmission is over you do crash and die but it doesn't happen very often. Oh, I was about to forget; hey, no Navy planes guy, so what if they're not all Navy planes, I don't care just as long as they're cool, which they are! The firepower is pretty cool too.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not that fun...
This game is just not that fun. I go in on hard and the game is still easy. On top of that, you have to fly in specified war zones. If you leave? Game over... Get a real flight game for like the computer because this game is stupid. On top of that, this game has some nice graphics, but that is only in the clouds. Everything else is way too boring. Another thing, the models on the planes are a little too big because sometimes you can hit your tail on the ground and not even really touch it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Here's my review:
I am fourteen years old and I absoulutely LOVE this game. There are eight different planes( actually, one of them is a helicopter, and I haven't unlocked that yet), all with great piloting. There are four different piloting controls, #3 being most like flying a REAL plane. The graphics are VERY realistic. If you get close enough to the ground and fire, you can hear your rounds pinging off the ground. GREAT graphics; on some levels with water you can see ripples in the water when you fire. I don't know if this is with EVERY game, but somehow my game has gotten erased twice. When I got on, it told me the data was corrupt. I'm pretty sure it was just my memory card, though. Many other reviewers told everyone to rent it, but I strongly suggest that you don't. You will not have enough time to unlock all of the extras, and what fun is that? There is also a QUICKSTART option, where you can choose air2air or air2ground, etc. You choose how many opponents, and what map you will play, and PRESTO! You've designed your own war. Overall a GREAT game, and I strongly suggest to anyone that liked Rouge Squadron or X-wing alliance (PC) to buy it. Thanx! <><

3-0 out of 5 stars An okay game
Top Gun: Combat Zones is a game that, on the back cover, claims to allow you to master the Navy's top 5 planes, which I disagree with.First, four of the planes available aren't in the Navy. The MV-22 and AV-8 are Marine aircraft. The F-22 Raptor is Air Force, and the YF-23 lost the contract to the F-22, and isn't in any branch of the military.Second, This game only seems to focus on fighter/attack roles. Combat Zones failed horribly in capturing different aspects of Naval aviation. A good selection of Navy aircraft would probably include the F-14D, F/A-18C, E-2C Hawkeye, S-3B Viking, EA-6B Prowler, HH-60H Seahawk, and P-3C Orion. This would've allowed mission variety, including air to air combat, special forces insertion, anti-surface and anti-sub roles, AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), and the ever-popular air-to-air combat. But, unfortuneately, the designers made a game that gets old after a while because the only thing different in each mission is the scenery.
I loved the control setup for this game, though. That is, I loved the Expert controls. Expert controls allow you to control the airplanes with realistic three-axis movement (pitch, roll, and yaw). One big flaw, though, was throttle controls. The throttle controls really stunk.
While the control setup was near-perfect, the way the aircraft handled was very unrealistic. I mean, paint dries faster than the time it takes for you to roll completely around one time. Another complaint I have is that you can't really dive inless you roll on your back and pull up. Nothing like real aircraft.
Sound effects were okay, although the explosions sound muted. My favorite sound in this game was your 20mm cannon. The gun in the game almost sounds like the gun in real life (believe me, the real life guns sound a lot different than in the movies.
I did appreciate the graphics. The planes were very detailed, right down to the markings. Everything was in the right spot.
One thing is, I like to play flight sims from a cockpit view that actually looks like a cockpit, and I also like to be able to take off and land. This game didn't have any of that.Half the challenge of flying is taking off and landing, especially for a Navy pilot.IT's been said over and over that it is incredibly unnerving to have to land a 50,000 pound jet on a floating airfield moving away at 30 knots, no matter how experienced you are. This game failed terribly in even giving you an inkling of what flying in the Navy feels like.Anyone can just slap together a "fly in and blow everything up" game.Tsk, tsk.
Overall, this was an okay game. You have to give it a lot of credit because it is the only semi-realistic flight sim for GameCube (hint, hint, Nintendo bigwigs), but I really felt that it didn't do naval aviators justice.
Only buy it if you really truly want a flight sim for GameCube. Otherwise, rent it or wait for a realistic sim to come out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Husband and Son are both hooked on this game!
I got this game for my husband for Christmas and it has been in constant play ever since. The graphics are great, and the game is very entertaining (we even caught Grandpa at the controls!).My 7-year-old son finds it challenging and it is not too overly violent for him.All in all it is a fun and exciting game that probably won't be set aside any time soon!Have FUN! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars it was okay
Okay, the game was good, is a really realistic racing game, but a little too realistic.
The wide selection of cars from about 10 different dealers was great, and the big selection of tracks ranging from artic wastelands to burning deserts was pretty cool, but the cars are impossible to control. If you try to turn 45 degrees or more, the car will tip, and besides that its almost impossible to turn 45 or more degrees if your going any faster than 30 mph.
The graphics were good, a few glitches, you know, running straight through mountains into blue hell, driving straight through other cars, but otherwise is a good game for those challenge seekers out there. If you got a lot of free time and a lot of patience you'll master this game. Otherwise don't bother.
I personally find it really frustrating, especially when your opponents knock you over and go right through you right in front of the finish line. My friend got so mad at it once that he slammed the controller right onto that black thing on top of the Gamecube. I examined it later to find a huge crack running down the front. What a laugh. Massive repair bills though. Lol. If you're seeking a challenge, get dis game. If not, dont bother.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best game
this game is the best. You can buy a car from defrent car dealers.and upgrade it by buying defrent parts.then you race in your car im telling you this game is great.

5-0 out of 5 stars one of the BEST***
IF people say this is bad toooo wrong.Iwill say it isn't the best.Ifyou have the money I would buy it,but if you don't trade with sombody or something because this is one of the best

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty fun, though there are better out there.
This game is a fun game, especially in multiplayer mode - you can really annoy each other by cutting each other off or try and shove each other into rocks and off the road - but I have seen better in racing games. However, if you find one used, or at a good price, buy it.It's not hard to play - even my parents can play it ;) - but it allows simple fun in competing with friends. The one-player mode is not very engaging, and I've seen better graphics and options... but its not too bad, especially if your just looking for something to tide you over until Zelda comes out.

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid at all costs....OK, anything more than $1.00
Rather than write a long review, I'll just say that this game is awful.I played it for 1 hour, and returned it.The graphics are OK, but the collision and everything else is horrible.

Trust me, you don't want this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A more positve look at this game
This game is amazing. The story mode levels are huge, and you can switch between either white bomber or max, both with pros and cons. If you lose, you can enter the bomber mansion and train. If you have your friends over, go battle mode. The game offers 5 different battle modes, along with tons of different stages the affect your play. This game is huge, and the only "high voice" is Bomberman talking. The game play alone will take you hours to beat, plus, you have a limit til' the planet is destroyed to add to it all. This game deserves a 5, not a 1.

1-0 out of 5 stars it sucks
this game sucks.I thogut it would be like the one on nintendo 64 , but it isnt at all is is a retarded japanese cartoon with high pitched voices that sound like the stupidest cartoon ever made, pokemon!!i wasted about 35$ on this dumb game. Please for your sake dont ever buy this game or even think about buying it !!!!!!!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars A better generation? Not at all.
I know what you're thinking. "This is Bomberman, and for twenty bucks!" But I promise, that money can be spent on something far better. The multiplayer mode is the only reason why this is any good, but even then, it's nothing new. Hudson Soft only needs to make one Bomberman game per console, unless they're going to actually improve the series in some way (and believe me, this singleplayer stuff is in need of improvement). All Jetters wants to do is be another Bomberman Generation, but we already have a Generation. So buy that game instead.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Bomberman game released here since Saturn Bomberman
Bomberman Jetters takes the foundation layed by Bomberman Generation and improves it in several ways. Firstly, you can select from several characters in Battle Mode, which is nice. You can also handicap players by letting them start with items. You can choose what items appear in each stage, a neat addition. The new multiplayer modes are great fun, and the one player game is based on the Japanese anime show. Having played the import, I'm really happy to see this one come out here at a great price. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars What is this!?!
I was at a conveince store yesterday and saw the worst gamne Nintendo has ever created! Pokemon Channel!? This is worse than "Hey You Pikachu". Everything is really boring, a weak storyline, and the worst for last: thoase annoying pokemon cries! For once, I wish I could just put duck-tape on their mouth! Overall, save your money for something else.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS GAMES A RIP OFF
This game is pathetic.I am insulted that Nintendo would sell a product to me like this. There are only five areas to explore(your house, the yard, a beach, some snow place, and a forest) which is kind of pathetic. The objective is to collect cards and collect these TV chip things that allow you to watch new channels. Its kind of stupid when u see the same channel over and over and over........especially when you get to watch a bunch of sheep jump over some fence.(I have seen it go over 500, and it never changes.)The only good thing about the game is that you can watch some new pokemon show, but it doesnt even last that long. Then they try to make it seem like u get alot of channels by remaking the new show in Japanese, full edition, and then 3 other channels that play different parts of the show.If you really want to buy this game, rent it.Its not worth $20 for only one day of fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Eh,alright-could be better...
This game I had recently received for a Christmas present, and now it's losing out to my other games.

I began the game, and it was cute. The channels were creative and peppy, but didn't hold my intrest. This game is better suited to younger gamers and/or pokemaniacs. If you're a bit older,I recommend Animal Crossing, which is much more enjoyable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not A+, but it still is fun!
Pokemon channel is very cute and fun to play. You get to watch TV, earn money, decorate your room, explore, and talk to other pokemon. Although the game is fun for awhile, it gets really boring after you beat it. It is a great game for the amount of money you pay for it, but it isn't the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exciting!!!
I bought this game for my 8 year old son today for his birthday. As soon as we got home, he put it in and began to play.My daughter who is 5 was unable to really grasp the concept of the sports game but I did often find myself jumping up and cheering for them both. There's great action and commentation without unneccessary deragotory remarks.A great game for the young and old(er).

4-0 out of 5 stars Soccer at it funniest!
Disney Sports Soccer is a great soccer game! The game itself though is tough! Easier than "DSFootball", but not as complex as "DSSKateboarding"! I can't say if you should buy or not, Great multiplayer game however!

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is AWESOME!!
This game is one of the best games that I have ever played. It is fun to see the players fall down or pass the ball to their other players. This game is awesome because you get to replay your fouls, pick your stadiums, pick your teams and play!! You should try playing this game with your family members because it just makes you laugh and smile and have fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids
Looking for a non-violent game for an older preschooler or early elementary schooler? This might be it!! Use the "buddy" system to play with your child and overcome hilarious (at least to kids) challenges together. Here's an even better idea from a kid. Play a real-life version of Scream Arena. Throw lightweight balls at each other and give each ball a role (slow motion ball, sneeze ball, keep-me-for-as-long-as-you-can ball, etc.). This is a super family video game!!

4-0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Scream
How to have a video game that is fun to play but does not involve killings and violence?DODGE BALL!A great premise!Goofy!Hilarious. The Monsters Inc. characters go at it trying to whack each other with progressively zanier balls in progressively more unusual. You talk about a GREAT game for my 5 year old to play. And with the ability to play 4 players, the whole family can get into the goofy act. These are the warm moments that you recall with warm cocoa by the fire, how your preschooler whacked you with the disco ball!Great great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Dodge Ball, With a Twist
I am not the type of person who normally enjoys playing video games, but Disney and Pixar's Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena was an absolutely adorable and enjoyable video game. While intended to be primarily a game for children, Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena is an enjoyable game for children of all ages as well as adults.

The game starts out with a short clip from the movie Monsters, Inc. and then sends the player into Monstropolis, the city where all the monsters in the movie live. There are many different stages, each representing a scene from the movie, but in order to get into a particular scene the player must succeed at the preceding arenas.Once the player succeeds at one arena, the next arena is unlocked.

Once the player has selected the scene that he or she desires to play, the next step is to choose which monster he or she wants to be.I should mention that the game can either be a single player game where the player competes with the game itself or it can be a multi-player game, where the players can either compete head to head with each other, or work together to defeat the game's monsters.

Choosing your monster is, in my opinion, the best part of the game.Nearly every monster, if not every monster, from the movie is able to be selected for use.Once the player has selected a monster, the monster will greet him or her by saying something along the lines of, "Thanks for choosing me!"

Not only does the monster speak, but it also acts in the same manner that he or she did in the movie. The player's monster is then placed into the arena you have chosen, and the game begins. Some examples of the arenas you can choose from are: Main Street, Mike and Sully's Apartment, the Lobby of the Monsters, Inc. Building, and Harry Hausens, the restaurant in the movie.

My favorite arena is the one at the Chinese Restaurant. In this scene, like all the other scenes, the object is to hit the other monsters with balls while your monster avoids being hit.The twist in this room is that there's a disco ball.Every time a monster is hit, he or she is frozen in that spot and begins to disco dance, giving the other monsters a better chance of hitting him or her.

Not only is this game adorable, but it is very fun to play.I would highly recommend that if you have access to a Nintendo Game Cube, you rent Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena and play it with your friends. When I played it with my friends, we played for numerous hours every day we had the game, and never once got bored or tired of playing.Hopefully you will find Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena as enjoyable as I did.

1-0 out of 5 stars Far and Beyond the Worst!
This is easily the worst game I have ever played - (...) There is no plot, only a succession of increasily disapointing "games". It is challenging only on a sesame street level. If you buy this, make sure it's for a three year old!

1-0 out of 5 stars fun rental, bad buy
the game is fun for about one week(at longest), but after you beat it and get all the characters and levels, it's boring. the graphics are awful. i mean, sully(the big furry blue guy), doesn't look furry, he looks like he has giant blue spikes. i can't beleive they didn't take a little bit longer to make the graphics better. in short, i would rent it from blockbuster. if i had known better, that's what i would've done. wait, never mind that. only rent it if you're too curious not to. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST ON GAMECUBE
This game is probally the 2nd best jet ski series out. It has beautiful graphics, challenging gameplay, and lots of cool tricks. Racing is very fun and freeride is where it's at. I know freeride? Yes, I love games with freeride. It gives you a chance to explore and be free. That is why i love freeride.
The games have been coming since Wave Races first appearance on the original game boy, then to nintendo 64, and now with the gamecube. I love this game, but the is a better jet ski series out.
It is called SPLASHDOWN. It is for the PS2. SPLASHDOWN RIDES GONE WILD IS THE BEST JET SKI GAME TO DATE.
Buy wave race and if you have a PS2 get Splashdown and SPLASHDOWN RIDES GONE WILD. If you are awed by wave race you haed will explode with splashdown.
Still Wave Race Blue Storm is a must have if or if not Gamecube is your only system.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!
this game is AWESOME!!!! i put it in my living room where i have the big screen...and my mom got sick just from looking at the AWESOME graphics! the way the water splashes up on the screen in really cool..I LOVE THIS GAME!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Really good
This is a game that you just gotta buy! Personally, I hate racing games, but I could go for hours on this game. The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is rockin', and the players are cool. I have a sister and she, my dad and I go head to head all the time. It's a great way to bond, and now my dad isn't as opposed to gamecube. It's so fun, and a person with a wave runner will really enjoy this game. It's sooo realistic! Keep up the good work, Nintendo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome! I actually felt wet playing it!
This game is amazing. I actually felt wet while I was playing it. It has realistic graphics and real problems that you run into while jet-skiing, like large waves, fog, storms, and sun glares. This is a totally amazing game. The only way it could be improved is if they added more courses, but otherwise, they didn't seem to run out of ways to keep me happy! The graphics are great, they look really real, like the water is reflective. This game is amazing. I loved it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks the house!
If you like to race, this game is a great alternative to all of the road and snow racing games out on the market and is a great addition to any any collection.Wave Race has the best of everthing... customizeable characters, increasing levels of difficulty, awsome graphics, head-to-head racing, varied venues, and easy to use controls. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Jeremy from Chi-Town
The graphics are alright, and the gameplay straight. The game all around is cool, but there is too much stuff to unlock. But nonetheless, this game isn't good enough to buy. I'd give it a seven day rental.

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is dumb
This is the worst football game i have ever played.First of all, when you try tricky stuff, you fumble every time.Next, defense is imposible.I should never have bought this game.If you want a fun football game, go with blitz or madden. Not this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game
There is only one word to describe NFL Street and that is... AWESOME! This game has bend the rules a little bit and for the good. It is just not fun running and passing when you can run and pass with STYLE. I personally am not a fan of NFL games but this is THE exception. Its not just football, it's a whole lot more.

Gameplay-
As you may know I love this game, I play it a lot and it does not look like I'm going to be putting it down any time soon. Also I am hearing a lot of people saying this game is "frustrating" and that they fumble too much, what the heck are you doing?? I "syle" a lot, and don't ever fumble. Anyways this is how it goes... You play football and at the same time you rack up points, the more points you get the faster you earn a "Game Breaker". If you are wondering... A game breaker is when your team gets unlimited Turbo and if you are on offence you are likely to leave everyone in your dust, and almost guaranteed a touch down. If on defense you are also almost guaranteed a turn over on downs or fumbles. Well back to game play, there a lot of cool moves you can pull off when you are running. Like spin around your opponent, plow threw him, jump over him, and sooo much more. This is useful to rack up points and earn that game breaker or simply just to lock good while running for the touch down. This is were in my opinion NFL Street shines the most.

Graphics-
I have no idea how another person said that the graphics were awful.I don't know if he is looking at the same game I am looking at, to me they are extremely good, the players look like the real life guys, there are no skips or lag. In fact I thought they were the best, because eventhe fields are done very well and some-what interactive. Like for instance in a junk yard you can fall on some wooden boxes and they will brake, in the beach there is a big volleyball that you can hit and it will react and bounce away also some surf boards you can hit and will fall down. So to me the graphics are just perfect.

Sound-
I regularly don't pay attention to the sound on games, but in NFL Street how can you not? The crashes sound good and I guess a little exaggerated but that does not necessarily make it a bad thing. Also everyone talks trash to each other, my favorite quote for now is "If I got a nickel for every yard you just ran, I would be broke... dead broke." And when you are playing there are some nice beats on the background so sound is great as well

Bottom line If you like football and are looking for a little more, buy this. If you don't like football rent it and I'm almost certain you will like it, I did and like I said I'm not a fan of NFL my self. But if you are a hardcore simulator fan DO NOT BUY IT, it is not about simulation its about having fun and soo much more!

1-0 out of 5 stars dis game sucks
dis game sucks (...)bad if it had better fields more accurate gameplay and timed games and like a bizzillion uther things it might get 2 or more stars, but till then it sucks.

P.S. if i could id give it zero stars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
This is by far the best game I have gotten for my gamecube. There is so much to do and so much to unlock. The crazy style moves make this a free stlye, off the wall game which makes it really fun. The NFL challenge is hard at first, but isnt terribly hard. defense is hard, so make sure to build up your defensive attributes first. Once you get the swing of things this game can give you hours and hours of fun. Different style moves include: spins, hurdles, jukes, an runs. Some inclue show me the money, he got shook, tornado, side steppin, air time. Get out there, open it up, and have some fun! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars buy it
This game is great>> If you are in for graphics. Don't buy it. Is you love FIFA don't buy it. Is you are into the game play and strategy and know something about soccer then buy it. One time I played FIFA because people would keep talking about it, and I could not believe how unreal it was. I could not believe that I made all my goals from about half the yard, and whenever I got close to the goal the keeper would always stop it. In the real life is not like that, sorry to tell you. That's why I pick MLS extra time ten times over FIFA.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Soccer Game for Gamecube
MLS ExtraTime is a very solid game for those who don't take their soccer too seriously. The MLS mode is very good with the most up to date rosters found in any soccer game so far.ExtraTime's main flaw is that international rosters aren't the same as you are going to see in tournaments such as the world cup. This doesn't bother me much since I bought it for a good MLS game anyway. The only other flaw is semi-automatic player switching which can be a hassle and get VERY frustrating VERY fast with the computer switching you to player not even on the same half of the field as the ball. With better international rosters and no automatic player switching MLS ExtraTime would have been a GREAT soccer game for the Gamecube. The graphics are fairly good, although not quite as good as other games I've seen. I give this game a 4 out of 5.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it
Like the other reviewer said wait for ISS(International Superstar Soccer) To come on gamecube. It will blow this game out of the water.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very far from ISS or Winning Eleven
As a Brazilian, I don't believe I would buy this game if I had played it before. It's much worse than international superstar soccer of N64, Winning Eleven and even FIFA 2002 is better (I never liked Fifa series).

It doesn't even have a proper international tournament.

It's better to wait for International Superstar Soccer, which has already been released in Europe. Unfortunately, neither Nintendo website nor Konami websites give any information about this product and when it's gonna be released in USA.

2-0 out of 5 stars World cup fever
Being an Englishman I feel very well placed to rate soccer games as I have been playing them all my life.I was really looking forward to MLS extratime as Konami make the best soccer games and I thought with the GC it could only be a winner.
First impressions were bad as the game looks like an old PS one title and unfortunately when compared to the PS2 version it looks woeful.
Gameplay is simple and fun but compared to Pro Evolution on the PS2 this game will only ever be a subsitute and not in the starting eleven. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Worth 15 Bucks.
This game was only good for about a month then it turned sucky.
BUY IT IF YOU WAN'T TO WASTE YOUR MONEY.

4-0 out of 5 stars its fun but after you beat you might not want it anymore.
just like i said when you buy this game youll have so much fun with it. but after a month or two itll get extremely boring it has a very low value to it.But it is cheap so you could just buy it for a month or two then sell again. thats what i did.Youll have a good old time with this game for only a bit though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hip Hop, Fun, & Tricky Good
This is the best snowboarding game I ever played. It has hip hop and other classics stunts. This game is even better than any Tony Hawks game. It's fun and intellagent. If u have a child or if u are a child, check this out. No snowboarding game or skateboarding game can beat this.

4-0 out of 5 stars SSX- The Down Low
I recently started playing SSXT on the Game Cube and absolutely loved it! The Graphics are outstanding, the characters are crazy, and the tracks are intense! Although my fave character is Kaori Nishadaki, I also like to play Elise Barns and Psymon Starks. (Talk about Crazy!) So I'd say two thumbs up, this game is a must for any age, gender, system, anything!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good and very very tricky
This game has a lot to offer. I must say that i was expecting less. The only reason I bought it because it was half price. You wont be dissapointed. The game has many characters with great graphics. You can knock others off their board, do tricks and when they do that they let out a remark like Yee-ha. The game is so realistic with great music, the players remarks and the graphics, it makes you feel like youre actually there. This also has a documentary on how the game was made. The only let down ( which cost it a star) is that there is not enough tracks. A must have for any gamecube owner. ... Read more
