3-0 out of 5 stars Okay, I Guess
This game was okay. But not for the price I bought it at. I got it at target for 49.99. Not okay. The graphics were okay, the dialouge was cheesy, and the game was not so good. The character never dies,(could be a pro), and the sound was okay.
Hope to help!

3-0 out of 5 stars This is a kid's game?
Tak seemed awfully hard.I wandered in circles trying to figure out how to get to the blocked cave early in the game.I finally got a Strategy guide and found the bear would toss me.The down river portions were also difficult.I am currently stuck where Tak turns into a squirrel and glides across the canyon.I can make the first glide, but absolutely cannot make it to the other side.I am an adult, and I can't imagine how frustrating parts of this game would be for kids.

1-0 out of 5 stars A horrible game
I rented this game from blockbuster and after an hour's play I am ready to drive back there and return it to them. It is an awful game with terrible graphics, a completely hideous fighting style, and character dialogue that is borderline retarded. Take my advice and go get a good gamecbue game like Prine of Persia 2.

5-0 out of 5 stars Even Better!
This game is even better than the first.I love this game. It is soo funny. The juju's are really funny. The look of this game is better than any I have ever seen.I think that Nick has a great game here. You go into tak's dreams on this one and fight his bad night mares. The dream worlds look really like dreams. It is great. It was a little hard for me on some of the puzzles and this game has side games in it as well.Don't see how anyone could get bored on this game for this reason.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this game - addicting and fun!
At first the game took a while to adjust to - it is strange, incredibly fast paced, and good times all around.Great for if you're in the mood to get the adrenaline going with a few close friends.

I'm hooked!!

1-0 out of 5 stars I did not like this game
Although Wario is one of my favorite Nintendo characters, this game definitely has knocked him down the rank a little.I guess I was not expecting the raw anime that this game has.I was very dissapointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars super fun but the control is bad sometimes

Super fun game with many crazy mini-games to beat. I have beaten the first boss. The single player mode is fun but practice is even funnier. It's super hard but oh so damm funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Combination of Games
"WarioWare Inc. Mega Party Game$" is the sequel to a Game Boy Advance title, and can be enjoyed by hardcore gamers and old-school players alike! This game features several classic Nintendo Entertainment System and Super NES titles, as well as micro morsels based on arcade and Atari 2600 games and those that are just plain obscure.

This is the type of game which can be enjoyed without a second player, but "Multi-Player Mode" is the best. Games like "Listen to the Doctor" and "Outta My Way!" uniquely use the micro games to dish out delight!

Final Thoughts: There is nothing to dislike about this game. My highest game score in on Metroid, which I played several times before losing.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hysterical in more ways than one!
My friend rented this game on a whim when a bunch of us were just hanging out. We always had 4 people playing and a room full of people watching. Either way, the game is so much fun. The gameplay is confusing at first, but you can pick it up pretty quickly. And even if you can't figure it out, the insanity of it all is hilarious. 5-second mini-games with one word commands for instructions play against back drops of dance music growing constantly faster, balloons being inflated at rapid speed to blow you clear to the moon, or the sight of your friends stealing your cards while your back is turned.

There are 3 party versions and a one-player version. I suggest playing as a group. I laughed so hard my stomach ached. We stayed up for hours playing this game. We didn't even care who won, we enjoyed it so much. There are even classic Nintendo games thrown into the mix. Anyone remember that fly-swatter game from Mario Paint? Ok, I won't say anymore. If I give too much away, it won't be as funny when you see it.

Great for any age person, with a room full of good friends. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It's not the 64 one but it's still great racing
In my opinion Mario Kart are one of the better racers, besides Need for Speed. I like the hyper-realism of something like Gran Turismo or Midnight Club 3 but it's kind of boring cause you just race period. Mario Kart has gameplay elements that actually make you interested in the race. It feels slightly slower than the 64 version but it still looks great.

Story: No story literally. Basically you have racers that want that gold cup and go through different race sets to do it. Old favorites return like Rainbow Road which looks more stunning than the old one and some new ones.

Graphics: Very nicely detailed. Areas like Rainbow Road are simply great to watch but then you have to actually watch the road. Others look rather bland like souped up 64 versions instead of complete overhauls.

Sound/Music: Traditional voice one-liners like "let's-a go!" or "Yoshi!". The music has that nice bubbly catchy music but it's not catchy. What the?

Gameplay: The big change from 64 to Double Dash is right in the name: you have 2 racers per kart now. So Mario is teamed with Luigi, Peach is with Daisy(Luigi's chick I guess), and Baby Mario with Baby Luigi and others.

If you get a red homing shell but don't wanna use it, move your guy to the back and get something else until you need it. The specials are roughly the same with the backwards ? which derails you, homing red shells, ever-travelling green shells, awesome-but-inexplicable blue ones(I have no idea how they work, I just fire them).

Courses in a way are a little complicated than in the past. You'll be bumping into walls a lot and even falling into pits/water which is incredibly frustrating especially when it's such a sharp curve with very little turning room.

There's plenty of secrets to be found and shortcuts that you can explore but this game as usual best works with multiplayer which you'll get your fun's worth in bucket loads.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Karting Game
I actually liked N64's version better, but this one I like too.

5-0 out of 5 stars RACING FUN
This game is so much cool ' and its my overall favorite mario kart game i guess its because I've never played the previous ones ' well in double dash you can select your own combo and which character you want to drive with you for Example like Have mario and baby mario being in a combo together ' its cool seening both of them in a game together

Peach beach is my favorite course ; very nice look also ' anyway this game is for long time mario kart players so bye this game you wont regret it :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, and more fun
I owned Mario Cart 64 for the Nitendo 64 but this game far surpases it. Tha ability to play with another person is great if you want to play with someone instead of aginst them. Also this game has unlockable characters and corses. Also the addition of new battles gives a you evean more options for fun.So overall this game is FUN FUN FUN for 1 -8 players alone or on teams!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I love the Mario Kart series but this one took a new twist.Adding a second character to your kart for extra fun.Double Dash is brilliantly crafted, awesome graphics and cool stages you'll love to play over and over again, especially Baby Park as it can get pretty wild after the first 2 laps.
Tons of characters to choose from and unlock, every character has their own special weapon. The best being Bowser and Baby Bowser's Giant Bowser Shell, Donkey and Diddy's Giant Bananas and Yoshi and Birdo's Egg.Pick any of these characters and you will have a disaster path behind you.
One of the best games to play with your friends or alone, either way, a must play and a must buy. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Where's the story?
There's no story behind this game. The pack of the package displays a greatly written intro to a story, but as you begin to play, you realize that this is just a simple point and click shooting game. For those of you who enjoy pointing and clicking without reason, go ahead and buy it. But for the rest of you, esspecially those who enjoy a good story, stray away from this title.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ikaruga raped my mind...
This game is hard.Prepare to have your brain raped and eyeballs spanked. If you love old-school twitch goodness that puts hair on your chest, buy this game, take it home, and be abused by gameplay. This game serves as a lesson to all you casual gamers (who I hate SO MUCH,) as to what a real gamer looks like.3D graphics and exploration is great, (however, sports games are inexcusable...) but every once in a while, you need to bring it all back home.Take my advice, if you want your kids to grow up knowing what a VIDEO GAME!, (not a video game, but a VIDEO GAME!) looks like, then force them to play this along with all those great SNES games. It's a good thing.

4-0 out of 5 stars Made Me Laugh Out Loud at the Learning Curve
I've always been a fan of the horizontal/vertical space shooter genre, and "Ikaruga" manages to roll up all the best stuff about each entry in that genre, and then, do it one better.

Made by the geniuses at Treasure, the team behind the legendary "Gunstar Heroes" (Genesis), "Ikaruga" is not your typical shoot-fest.The story is negligible, because you won't be seeing anything even vaguely related to it, and it's cut-and-dry, anyway. The meat of this game is definitely the hardcore, old-school-feeling gameplay. There can be hundreds of bullets on the screen at a time. However, the twist that "Ikaruga" introduces is that you don't necessarily have to dodge them all.

Your ship is unique in that it can change its magnetic alignment at any time with a press of the A button, from Black to White and back again, on the fly.If you are hit by a bullet of your ship's current color, you'll absorb the bullet and it will power up a set of special homing laser shots, and these homing lasers do ten times the damage of your normal cannon. Also, if you fire upon an opposite-colored ship, it will do twice the damage, but you will be vulnerable to its hostile fire.

The beauty is that no enemy is immune, really. Each one is colored black or white accordingly, and the bosses like to switch between the two periodically.Speaking of the bosses, they're very inventive and challenging, and will teach you how to die in many, many ways.

And you will die.A lot.Believe you me.I do consider myself something of an elite gamer, and this title continuously schools me; with only 3 credits at the start of the game, that makes this a very fun, very cool, but very, very hard title.Recommended? You better believe it.

Inventiveness: 8 (out of 10)
The extra black-and-white twist on a classic genre helps "Ikaruga" define itself as not just another difficult face.

Sound: 7.5
The sound effects are all mostly spot-on, but the music, while uplifting and appropo, seems to all carry the same hooks and themes, like one long continuous track.

Graphics: 7
While not the prettiest title out there, the graphical stylings do get their point across. However, exclusively considering this genre, Ikaruga's graphics are stellar.

Control: 9
While you may be wishing you had a "kill everything on the screen" button every now and again, Ikaruga handles almost flawlessly. It's mastering your little ship that will test your patience, not mastering the controls.

-----------------

Overall Score: 8
The bottom line: a game that will make you laugh with joy at the gimmick and groan with pain at the difficulty.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good ideas, poorly designed levels
The concept behind this game is brilliant, even if it's taken from Silhouette Mirage (a PSX platformer). You have to switch your ship's polarities between light and dark.In light form you can absorb light bullets and vice-versa.Absorbing bullets charges up your special attack.

This should have made for one heck of a game.Unfortunately, the level design seems a bit unfair to me.In the second level, there's a long section with no enemies. There are just a bunch of blocks in your way, with big guns flinging bullets everywhere (both black and white). The beginning of the third level is also kind of a rip-off.

Graphics are good, and run at a smooth 60 frames per second. There isn't much animation to speak of.Ship designs are good, although some of the enemies are kind of odd.The backgrounds for some levels can be disorienting.

Basic gameplay is completely solid; only the level designs are a problem. The game has full analog control so you can move with precision.

There's some sort of rock/heavy metal music in the background, but nothing memorable. The sound consists of guns being fired and explosions.

You'll probably enjoy this game if you can really get into it, but I wish the level designs were better and that there were more of them (there are only 5, even though the box claims 18).If you find it cheap, I'd say pick it up.Three stars may not seem like much, but it still means above-average.

3-0 out of 5 stars Play this game and take two aspirins and have fun.
This game is quite good in graphics and sounds. Gameplay, however, is absolutely hard. I can't make it past the second boss and that is on easy mode. I must say that it is not your conventional shoot and evade kind of game. You must also change polarities(change the color of your ship between white and black) to be able to survive. This technique requires precission. I still think that you have to be a Jedi to play this game. Overall is a good game but only if you have the patience. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A Huge Dissapointment
My family adored Ty the Tasmanian tiger - we all played it over and over. It was easy enough for my five year old and I to both be able to play alone.

I jumped at the chance to buy Ty2 right away, and was so upset by this one. This one just jumps right in to a huge battle with mutliple bad guys from the first game, without giving you a chance to ease in. If I was new to Ty games, maybe I would have liked it better, but there was something about the first game's laid back style that appealed to my family. You could explore that game. In this one, 2 seconds in you are battling a ton of bad guys. There's no into to the story.

Worse, the 2nd battle in has been unbeatable to us. Now we have actually finished the first Ty game, even the harder levels - but my son played this game for exactly one day before he gave up in frustration. Neither he, my husband nor I could get past the huge robots you fight in either the 2nd or third battle, and we ended up in and endless loop trying to kill them. Horribly frustrating, and just sad. They took an excellent game franchise possibility and ruined it. I guess we'll just have to keep playing the first Ty.

4-0 out of 5 stars If you have younger kids, this is the game for you.
It's hard finding 'E' games that really are appropriate for my 7-year-olds; hard enough that they will feel that they have succeeded but not so difficult that they will be frustrated. There are some harder sequences - particularly the first battle sequence - where they needed some help. But, all in all, this has proven to be a great find. With older siblings in the house, we've had to come to terms with video games taking the place of TV time as rewards for our younger boys. This game - and the first (Ty 1) have filled that requirement.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids
As an older gamer who has spent countless hours on platformers, I can't say I enjoyed Ty 2 a whole lot. But knowing that this is a game geared more towards kids, I'd say it does a great job. It vastly improves upon the first Ty by offering an enormous overworld that isn't broken up by obvious load times and levels. The game revolves around realistic missions to perform, giving it a more open-ended feel. The boomerangs play a more important part, too, and some vehicles and mech suits offer a nice addition. However, the different missions can get really redundant. The camera is still a hassle to control. And the impressively large list of collectables is made tedious by the lack of any indication on what area is what. Yet I recommend it to younger gamers, because it's easy and engaging.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dijon Collins sonic freak
I think this game is awesome because its. Ty the tasmanian tiger it took off where ty one took off and. This game is more intresting because you have a bigger and better enviroment. So which makes it better than number one and you should go buy it now. Because this game cant get no better than this they also added a. Track racing thing that you can unlock so you try your best to unlock it and pratice so you can beat your friends at it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Sports Simulation
I love baseball. I've played for years and have followed my hometown Pirates since I was a little boy. I first played simulated baseball on Triple Play 2000 for N64. When I got a GameCube I switched to All Star Baseball because it was the only one available. I liked both games, but found out ASB is no longer made for GameCube. Figuring that I liked EA's Triple Play game, I gave this one a try.

This has everything you'd ever want in a baseball game. The gameplay is excellent in all aspects. It's got any player who played in 2003 and allows for player creation and modification (so you can change numbers, ability, etc). The business aspects are simulated perfectly, far better than any other game I've ever seen. You can be the player, manager, and GM, as well as every coach and director in between.

To appreciate this game you have to like baseball. A lot of gamers don't like sports games, but that's probably because they're geeks who don't play or watch sporting events. Don't go by what those video game magazines tell you--those guys don't like sports.

This game is in my Hall of Fame right up there with Super Mario Bros 3.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's Almost Like Being There
I've played quite a few MLB games on the old Playstation and the Nintendo 64.From "High Heat Baseball" to "Triple Play," I've played my share. One thing that I really enjoyed about the "Triple Play" games is the fact that you had to warm-up your bullpen to get them ready to pitch."MVP Baseball 2004" has that and all of the other great aspects of the "Triple Play" games, plus loads of other features that can't be matched by other baseball formats.

One of the neatest things about this game is all of the throwback uniforms, legendary players and stadiums that you can earn by performing certain feats during a game such as winning a game in extra innings, getting ten runs, hitting .600, etc.For every feat you perform you earn a certain amount of points. After you accumulate enough points, you can "purchase" throwback uniforms, from the cool ones(Astros) to the wretched ones(Pirates), or players.Once you've acquired all of the players, you then have access to some new stadiums. You can also play in the minors. The Zephyrs are still part of the Astros organization on this game, and they give you access to players like Brandon Backe.

The gameplay is as close to the real thing as I've ever seen.Multiple camera angles capture every move, every slide, and even little things like eye movement and spin on the ball. You recognize pitchers by their throwing style and hitters like Jeff Bagwell and Gary Sheffield by their unique batting stances(Craig Counsell's unorthodox stance is also included).Ichiro looks like Ichiro. Jeff Kent looks like Jeff Kent.In fact, I'd say that ninety-percent of all of the players actually look like themselves.Only a few that I've seen look nothing like their actual selves(Morgan Ensberg and Adam Everett come to mind).Players make diving catches and barrel through the catcher as if you're seated on the third baseline.Pitches are delivered with perfection(if you throw it properly) and you can differentiate between a curve, slider, knuckleball, etc. when your waiting at the plate.

If you can't already tell, I'm a big Astros fan.Minute Maid Park looks beautiful on this game. When you hit a homerun, the train takes off across the tracks just like the real deal. You can see Seahawks Stadium in the outfield of the Mariner's Safeco Field. The Green Monster at Fenway has the newly installed seats on top of it.In other words, a lot of attention was given to details that many other games look beyond.

Bat control is very good. You can pretty much put the ball wherever you want if you have a player at the plate who can handle the Rocket's pitches.Bunting is also pretty easy to master.

I highly recommend this game for its lifelike presentation of the grand old game. It's pretty easy to learn and the control is excellent once you have it downpat. Also, there are tons of features and playing style to choose from.

A great buy.

By the way, the Expos will live forever on this game!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game But Not Durable
I've never had any problems with my GameCube before and I experienced my first problem with this game. Why 4 stars? That is the reason.I would have rated it five but it broke. But the games graphics are amazing.I had a whole team of created players so the game was awesome. If you are looking for a game, this is the baseball game to buy.I think mine just broke becasue somebody tampered with it, but whatever.Remeber, great game!!

5-0 out of 5 stars MVP Baseball 2004!!!
Graphics 8/10
Gameplay 8/10
Sound 9/10
Replayability 10/10

This game is great, it is a little annoying though when you have to keep messing with the settings because it is insanely hard one time, then it is wicked easy the next time when you are scoring like 20 runs in a game. But overall this game is great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best baseball game ever
This is definatelythebest basball game I have ever played. The graphics are fantastic and gameplay is easy to learn but challenging.I have had the game since chrismas and i still find myself playing it more then any of my other games.I love the two unlockable special teams with all the classic players. The players are very accurately rated.I just wish they made my mets a bit better, but overall its fantastic. This game is better then any of the other games out there, make sure you get this game. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Glad to see that pac is back
There are two games here, on two separate discs. The first game, Pac Man World 2, is a fun take on the old classic - sort of Pac Man meets Mario.Visually, I thought the game was done well, if not cutting-edge graphics-wise.Unlike the original, this game is 3-D and carries a bit more of a story, things that help draw you through the various levels.Further, the levels are challenging, but not too hard for an old fuddy-duddy like me.Sure, my kids tore through the game (as usual, but had fun doing it), but at least I was able to keep up with them.

The second game, Pac Man Vs. requires a gameboy advance with the link cable. Therefore, if you do not have this equipment, you will not be able to play it.However, at the price this game pack sells for, and with the quality of the Pac Man World, I don't think that you will be disappointed even if you don't have the gameboy advance. However, if you do, the Vs. game allows multiple players to pit themselves against each other in the classic roles - ghosts and the orbed one. Thus comes forth the second stipulation for the game:it is really only fun when you have multiple players.

While getting two game discs for the price of one seems a bargain, because of the requirements of Pac Man Vs. (game boy advance, cable, and (arguably) multiple players), I would think of this game as a bonus disc rather than an integral part of the purchase. The quality of Pac Man World is good, and the creators do a fine job integrating features of the game (and cartoon, for that matter). In fact, you can play the various classic Pac games within the game, thus adding to the "bonus" content. If you are an old Pac-Man fan like me, then this game will be more fun than a mouthful of power pellets.

3-0 out of 5 stars Overhyped
Eh! The first game, Pac Man World 2 seems to be uninspired. The controls, which, for me, are a very important part of an 3d adventure game, aren't quite right. They aren't wrong, its just they need more subtle tweaking for more enjoyable game play. I should state that I'm not very far into this game and things could change but I'm not expecting them to.

The second game, Pac Man Vs. is a good amount of fun for about 45 minutes at a time when you have 3 or 4 people. I found it to be kinda boring when there are only two people playing.

For the price this isn't a bad deal. Just don't expect a four or five star game play for a bargain bin price point.

4-0 out of 5 stars If youre a Pac Man fan get this.
I remember playing the original Pac Man on the arcade around the time it came out and since then Ive always been a fan.I also bought a Playstation back aroung 1994 and Pac Man World was my favorite game for that console. It just blew everything else right out of the water. If you still have a Playstation you owe it to yourself to get that game and while Pac Man World 2 is not as good as that it is still an excellent game. The main game isnt all that original but it is still pretty fun.I found myself liking the mazes more than most of the main game but since there a lot of mazes I cant complain too much.A few parts of the volcano levels can be pretty frustrating but overall its pretty damn easy.I still think its more fun than Luigis Mansion and Super Mario Sunshine because its more like a standard platform game in 3D which is pretty cool. You can also unlock old Pac Man games in the arcade room in this game.If youre a fan of platform games or just like Pac Man you should definitely go out and get this.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pac's Back
Yes, Pac is back in this 3-D world of adventure and fun that you just couldn't possibly put down.It starts off telling the story of how the ghosts steal the golden fruit from the tree that accidentally unleashes a ghoul ghost called Spooky that attacks Pac and his people. That is when you are sent on a journey into this amazing three-dimensional world of wacky fun and with a bit of old new twists. The game looks exciting, yet difficult at points in the game when you get further down the way. There's special mazes that you can go through when getting a special item that is pretty fun.Without a doubt, Pac-Man World 2 is a highly addictive game.Try it.You'll have fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice bundle
The Pac Man video games were some of the first to be truly successful in the video game industry, so it's not surprising that Namco has revived the character in recent years. Pac Man has starred in a number of different types of games over the years, and here he stars in a three-dimensional platformer. The game has now been rereleased with a bonus multiplayer game! Read on for my review of the Pac Man World 2 Bundle.

-Pac Man World 2-

PROS:
-The graphics for this game very good, in particular those of the cut scenes. The cut scenes really must be seen to be fully appreciated.
-The controls are, for the most part, pretty easy to learn. You should be able to pick them up pretty quickly.
-There are a number of things to hunt down in every level, which slightly boosts the replay value of the game.

CONS:
-The control scheme has a number of problems, which are particularly noticable when you're in the heat of battle, or trying to make a virtually impossible jump.
-Much like the recent Sonic games, the camera is pretty lame. It has a tendency to get stuck on pretty much anything and everything, which can really hurt your gaming experience.
-The swimming controls flat out suck, mostly due to continually-shifting camera angles underwater. You shouldn't include swimming stages in a video game unless you can get it right!
-In the end, this ends up being a pretty generic three-dimensional platformer. There are considerably better games of the same genre available. The game comes off seeming like something intended more for younger players.

-Pac Man Vs.-

PROS:
-This is an extremely fun multiplayer game. One player uses a Game Boy Advance to control Pac Man, while the other players control ghosts on the TV who try to defeat Pac Man. This is a great new twist on an old favorite, and you can do two, three, or four players.

CONS:
-This game REQUIRES a Game Boy Advance/Gamecube link cable, and a Game Boy Advance. That means that it could ultimately end up costing you over a hundred dollars just to play this game!
-It's multiplayer only. There is no single-player mode!
-As with any game, it's funnest with as many people as possible, and there usually won't be that many people around who are willing to play.

OVERALL:
Overall Pac Man World 2 is nothing special, and in my opinion is only worthy of a three out of five. Pac Man Vs., on the other hand, is a multiplayer masterpiece, and it bumps this package's score up to a four out of five. And at the extremely low MSRP, you can't lose with this set. Just make sure you have all the necessary equipment to play Pac Man Vs. BEFORE you buy the game! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The first Power Ranger game for Gamecube, YAY!!
This game kicks butt!! I've always wanted a Power Ranger game for Gamecube and here it is!!! I loved this game because not only it's the first Power Ranger game for Gamecube but it includes lots of challedging missions and you can also play as the rangers' zords but I give this 4 stars of fun because you can't play as the rangers, only the zords and also the NS and WF zords can ONLY be played in the Power Games levels. But since I loved Power Rangers, I still loved this game even though its short and all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Really for the little kiddies!
So who came up with the concept of this game. I would have expected this type of gameplay on the Gameboy, but the power of the GameCube could have been utilized more in the making of this game. You pretty much just battle as the Megazords. My son who is 5 years old doesn't even want to play the game anymore. He played it on the first day for just half and hour and got bored. He kept complaining that the game is boring and that he wanted to go back to the store to get a different game. It may be great for the kids who are just getting into video games. But it can be boring for the older kids. The game can be put to better use as a coaster for your drinks. Try before you buy!

3-0 out of 5 stars mom of a 4 yr old
My son, 4 years old, loves this game.It is very easy for him to play.A power ranger tells you what your objectives are and basically leads you to them.I don't believe this is a game for 7 year olds and up.It's to easy.My son loves being one of the dino thunder characters and is able to shoot enemies without any violence (i.e. blood gore, adult language, etc.)

2-0 out of 5 stars Too easy
My 10 year old finished this game in under six hours (including many of the bonus levels). That's 6 hours.

Visually OK, the graphics are nothing special and glitchy in one or two places.

Thst said, the kids (5+10) certainly enjoyed it but I'd suggest anyone with children older than 8 get something else. Children love to finish games off but I don't think it indicates good value for money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great NHL Game.
Hey, the NHL is on lockout, so play this game. Better than reading the news. Actually, it's one of the best games ever.

5-0 out of 5 stars NHL 2005 - Nintendo Gamecube
From 1996 to 2001 I purchased every EA Sports hockey title to come out for PC. After 2001, however, I felt as if EA Sports was starting to slack off. Yes the graphics imrpoved yearly, but the new hockey games just didn't seem to be changing enough to purchase them in yearly incrememnts. Well, since then I have purchased a Gamecube, and I simply went crazy at the site of NHL 2005. With all new features the game is simply phenomenal! Most notibly are the Dynasty Mode where you take the place as the General Manager of a team and lead them through a season, the Minor Country leagues spanning from Sweden to Russia and beyond, EA Sports Free 4 All featuring tons of new multiplayer games to play wtih your friends, and World Cup of Hockey where you can lead your home country to victory! All of these new additions are enough to make you want to buy the game, but I still haven't mentioned the added features in gameplay. In every previous game there have been automated deeks that you press a button to perform, but now you can use the c-stick to take full control of your player's stick. This opens up thousands of possibilities in creating your own awesome moves. I have one callled the Dan-Double-Deek that is very hard to do just right, but has never failed to score. Also, to counter this new offense force, without the puck the c-stick becomes your bruise control. depending on how fast you lunge the stick at your opponent, you can do anything from a simple poke-ckeck to a rumbling body check that will send the opponent through the glass! The last thing I want to mention is a new innovation in hockey gaming callled Open Ice Support. While carrying the puck, you can switch from the puck bearer to an open teammate, leaving the computer with the responsibility of handling the black biscuit. Then you can skate to open ice and press the pass button. The computer will pass you the puck! This is a great way to set up quick one-timer plays, and a great way to escape your defensive zone with an odd-man rush or breakaway!

THE BOTTOM LINE: This is an unbalievable hockey game that will never get old, and will supply hours of fun, for you alone, or you and three other people.

5-0 out of 5 stars best hockey game ever
this is a must have game. if you are a hockey fan get this game it is the most realistic hockey game ever. the new dyansty mode is awsome.graphics are great. u must get this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awsome Game EA:Can't Wait For '06
This game is awsome. I'd advise you not to buy the Sega Sports Football. The graphics are so realistic, it's nearly like when I used to play. The Home Field Advantage is cool too. I like to go to LSU and beat them(56-3 last time) in front of the #2 toughest stadium. I created my own school and made them a Juggernaut. They've won three SEC and NCAA Championships. If I were a student of the game or thought Football meant Soccer(learn some French) I'd love this game either way.

5-0 out of 5 stars NCAA Football-keeps getting better
First of all, let me say this is by far the best game in the series.I have been a huge NCAA fan since playing 2002 and I have every game since then.
Gameplay-The biggest and best thing this game has added is the stadium pulse. On defence you can pump up the crowd and it rattles the offence and makes it difficult to audible. You can now notice a difference in the atmosphere between the Swamp and Alcorn State's stadium.(sorry Alcorn State fans)Between plays they now show the fans celebrate, dance, hold up signs, and do stuff like Hook em and the gator chomp.Toward the end of the game, if the home team is getting blown out, it will show them leaving. Some other great features are the match up stick and the big hit option. The match up stick lets you see how good the players are and if they are rattled or not.The big hit stick lets you lay a huge hit on the poor reciever or running back. The hits are fun to watch and to hear the crowd reaction, but it is really hard to time it right and you wind up missing a lot of the time.EA sports has also added improved user-controlled celebrations. Now you can choose to make the fans, your mascot/cheerleaders, or the player to celebrate after a big play-not just a TD like last year.I was playin the Georgia-Florida game and as my UGA bulldog caught a TD pass as time expired, he did the gator chomp to taunt the UF fans.
dynasty-This is the part of the game that is the best. You control a couch and you can go from team to team trying to win a national title or you can stay with 1 team for up to 30 years(I'm currently on my third). You recruit high school players and you can even make your own recruits. You make shedules, redshirt players, name captians, and read the weekly eddition of Sports Illustrated. This year your players can break the law, flunk out of school and do other things to get suspended. As the coach, you controll the punishment, but don't let your players off too much or you could get probation.Dynasty is the part of the game that makes it the best football game in history.

This is the best game I have played on GC.It has great replay value and makes a daily trip to my GC.If you have any questions about buying the game, just go buy it.

p.s.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS SIC EM WOOF WOOF WOOF :)

5-0 out of 5 stars From an Sega Sports fan, this game rocks!!!
I have not played an NCAA game since the NCAA 2K series discontinued. I decided to try this game. It is awsome! Best football game out (with the possible exception of ESPN NFL 2K5)

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE is the best!

3-0 out of 5 stars NCAA Football 2005
Its 3rd on 30 you got 40 seconds to go down by 2 points do you pass, run, or kick you could go for it and maybe turn it over. Because the computers are just as good as you on this game. So go buy or rent NCAA football 2005.

Sconce the graphics are so good in this game I thought it was allotbetter than what I was told buy most of my friends. The graphics aregood enough to see their hair wave in the air. Most of the Gomes youcan't see there hair in this game you get old teams swell.

Second of all this game is based on how you play not on how goodyour players on the team are. Usually games are based on how good theplayers are but not on this game. The players play just how you want them to play.

This game is good because it has old collage teams to select also. Some of the old players play different than the new players old players sometimes don't play as good as some of the new players

The special effects are great when you tackle someone really hard because their helmet flees off. In most games when you tackle someone that hard their helmet won't fly off they won't do any thing but fall to the ground

It is the best football game I have ever played between the graphics and the defense. On the game case it recommends 7 and up but I say 8 and up because the controls are so confusing. Back to the question you 3rd on 30 40 seconds to go do you pass, run, or kick its your choice is yours so go rent, buy, borrow, or whatever to play this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Impressions after finishing my first season
I just finished playing my first dynasty season in NCAA Football 2005 on the GameCube and I was pleased with game.I'm not going to go over the details of all new features, but give you my impression of the game compared to last year.

First, the graphics are pretty much the same. They have more detail in the crowd, but the players don't look anymore realistic than they did last year. This is mostly a limitation of being a console game.If they'd release this on the PC, I'm sure the graphics would be amazing (hint, hint EA).Apart from the players, the rest of the graphics look more polished than they did last year.

The new gameplay features are interesting, but I really don't think they make much of a difference in the game. The home field advantage is nice, but it didn't seem to affect my team, positively or negatively.

The matchup stick is an interesting feature, but I don't know that it belongs in the game.It is great to see what DBs are worn out or lacking confidence, but isn't that cheating?I don't get to see what play they called, so why should I get to see how a player is doing other than by observing their performance?I used the matchup stick a lot at first, but I lost interest in as the season played out.

They did make some improvements to the passing game, but the game still features rushing more.

The voiceovers are the same as last year (and the year before). It would be nice if they changed some every year.

One thing they didn't do was fix the bugs from previous seasons. There is a bug where if you gain too many yards in a season, it turns it into a negative number. One of my receivers/returners had almost 2000 punt return yards. On the last game of the regular season he went over 2000 yards. When I looked at his season stats it said he had -2090 yards. He went from being first in the Heisman race to being 4th because he lost all those return yards. This bug has been in every version of NCAA Football and it needs to be fixed.

In spite of the lack of progress and bugs, I love this game and I will probably play 10 dynasty season this fall and winter, but I am a little disappointed that there aren't better improvements and new features. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sometimes simple is better
This is a terrific collection of "classic" pinball tables made by Gottleib.Featuring 7 tables and one unlockable the pinball machines chosen represent a nice segement of the companies history. Each machine plays differently thanks to the thought that went into the variety of tables included. The graphics are tremendous with each table really coming to life, also incredible is the flipper control and ball physics which really feel like real pinball, the c- stick operated plunger feels right as do the R and L flipper controls although the tilt mechanism relegated to the main analog control is touchy. Each table has a goal that when reached unlocks an arcade game for that table, couple that with a few unlockable modes and historical data and instruction for each machine read by a narrator and you have an incredibly well rounded video game for pinball neophytes and experts alike.Recommended for those of us who don't have room for real pinball machines in our game rooms.

i bought this at blockbuster for 7 dollars the game dosent make any sense at all its kinda pointless

5-0 out of 5 stars Nicely done
One of my favorite games on the Cube. Excellent voice acting and the graphics are outstanding. But what really shines are the wacky inventions and the puzzles. Not a button mashing game, this one make you think. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game from beginning to end.

4-0 out of 5 stars Goodness
Awesome game for kids! There are some problems with the camera angles that I fight with, but overall it's a good game. It's not so difficult that you get hung up trying to get past this certain part. You can actually sit back and enjoy the game. Graphics are excellent

5-0 out of 5 stars A joy for all family members
We gave our son the gamecube for Christmas and one of the games was Wallace & Gromit.I have never been a big fan of video games but once I tried W&G I was hooked. Our son loves it and my wife just laughs as he and I both try to get through the levels. The animation is outstanding and very fluid.

It has been frustrating for me to learn how to operate the controls but if they make another game with these guys I will buy it for our entire family!

3-0 out of 5 stars I wish it was better
I love Wallace and Gromit.I couldn't wait to play this game. However, I am disappointed.I found the graphics to be very well done, but the camera jumps so much that every time I play, I get motion sickness.Sometimes the camera jumps so much that you walk right off of platforms. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game to Learn On
We just got a GameCube. This game is sooooo much easy than "Scooby Doo and 100 Frights".You save more often and our 6 yr old can do most of the stuff. We actually got to the end of the game. wow! There are some difficult parts where the kid will throw the control at you and say, "You do it!"I would recommend this to any young gaming newcomer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Like in The Simpsons:Scooby Doo can Doo Doo!
This game is just too hard. I'm stuck in Episode 2:Mayhem at The Movies with only one clue. The graphics are OK. But Velma's hands are too big,and some other character's hands have dark fingers. Velma's,Fred's and Shaggy's smile are too big indeed. but, othervise: This game is exellent.

4-0 out of 5 stars Much more fun for the younger players
I bought my son a gamecube for Christmas and Scooby Doo Night of 1000 Frights. He loves the game but some of the levels are extremely hard for someone of his age. When he saw the commercial for the Mystery Mayhem game he of course really wanted it.Given the difficulty level of the first game, I was at first reluctant to purchase (my son is 5 and relatively new to the video game scene). However, after caving in and getting it, I am really glad I did.The levels are much easier for him to manuever and he really loves being able to play as Scooby or Shaggy. If he gets stuck I can usually help him through (in the Night of 1000 Frights some of the levels were too difficult for me!)Anyway, he really loves the game and the fact that is seems to be geared more toward younger players is a major plus.Overall I would say a big hit for the younger players, older more experienced gamers might find it a little too easy.Hope this is helpful. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A great time for the kids...absolutely "KID FRIENDLY"
RUGRATS: ROYAL RANSOM - My 5 and 8 year old absolutely love this game. It's very creative and colorful. There's alot of good, clean gaming action here. The graphics are fantastic and, if you have kids, "WE" highly recommend this.

2-0 out of 5 stars Probably for Little Little Kids Only
Maybe I didn't give the game a chance, but I couldn't because I would get motion sick too quickly. Maybe it's the very bright colors or the high-pitched music or the constantly going around in circles, but I was hanging over the side of my TV, turning green within 15 minutes every time I tried to play this. I was on the Baby Easy level, too, and I didn't find it all that easy, but I'm not a kid. No doubt it's probably a lot of fun later on when you get vehicles and stuff, but I couldn't even put together the snowman in the beginning levels. To its credit, the Baby Easy level does let you win even when your skills are horrible because I was a huge failure as far as navigating a river, and the game still applauded me and advanced me to the next level. (And still I couldn't put together the snowman. I am such a loser.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a great game for the younger gamers!
This has to be one of the best games available today for younger children that enjoy playing on the Gamecube platform. This game offers more levels that most adult oriented games but the challenge is set at a level in which younger hands can prevail.

My daughter simply loves this game! There are so many things to do that she never runs out of enjoyment or challenges. The best part of the whole game is that the violence is non existant compared to some games available.
Worth the money and your child will enjoy it for hours and hours.

Bottom Line:A+

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
I am a Mom and a gamer and this has been one of the best childrens games we have purchased. Lots of fun and the adventure can continue even after you have beaten the top level. Many different activities to do and is fun to go back and collect more funny money to buy the goodies. As a parent this game's music is VERY easy on the ears and annoying repeating phrases are at a minimum. Will keep them busy for hours while you enjoy, say a nice bath or book on occasion. Has easy adventures and more complicated ones for various ages. My daughter is 7 and enjoyed them all.
A great price here and is well worth it! :o)

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as I remember it....
Puyo Pop Fever is the latest installment of the Puyo Puyo puzzler series and has been revamped with an enhanced game engine that includes the new Fever mode, a larger assortment of characters, and additional modes. The Puyo Puyo series has a long and cryptic history here in the States. While a mainstay for the puzzler genre in Japan, Puyo Puyo has been released in many alternate forms, masking its origins over here. Veteran puzzler gamers will recognize the game engine as the same exact one from the Genesis and Game Gear's Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and the SNES's Kirby's Avalanche. Fever shares a lot with many other puzzler games; Puyo blocks drop down from the screen, and players try to combine four in a row to send a nuisance Puyo over to their opponent until their screen fills up---you can also unleash chain combos for devastating effects. But the new Fever mode adds a definite frantic dimension to the game. During a match, you build up your Fever gauge by eliminating Puyos, and when it's full, you'll enter Fever mode, which gives you a screen full of triple Puyo sets---one well-placed Puyo can set off a unstoppable chain saving you from the brink of disaster or unleashing a fatal blow to your opponent. The only limitation Fever has is that it supports only two players.
Additional enhancements in Fever included larger quadruple Puyo clusters, a 16-character lineup (two of which are unlockable), four courses, Free Battle mode in single player, three default rule settings, the ability to edit rules for versus mode, and three Endless Puyo Pop "classic" games. While single-player and Endless Puyo Pop modes are engaging, they can only really be considered training for the Versus mode. When you play against an actual person, the gameplay becomes faster paced and furious. Players must learn to adapt and process enormous amounts of information in a split second, paying attention to their current Puyo pile, the next Puyo piece, their Fever gauge, and their nuisance Puyo bank on the top of the screen. If you don't have any triple Puyo sets on your screen, the nuisance Puyo bank will unleash its contents. This will screw up your screen, and you'll hear the annoying chants of your opponent's character as he buries you. The characters are all well balanced and have varying styles and strategies, and they seem to be well designed to annoy the heck out of you while you play. There's nothing like the feeling of doom as you're fixated on your screen while you here the chants of the opposing character making chain after chain combos. With single, versus, and three endless modes, and 16 available characters, Fever is as addictive as it gets.

5-0 out of 5 stars doctor, I have puyo pop fever!
ok, then. I liked this game because it is somewhat original (look for puyo pop on the gba).I gave this game a 5 in fun because the in-game action is constant.I gave this game a 4 in educational value because you have to be looking at ALL times at your playing field, looking for possible matches.Gamecube disks are probably hard to break (none of mine have!)

Amazon.com Review

The keys to a successful basketball video game are its controls, artificial intelligence, and pacing. NBA Courtside 2002 excels in allthree areas, with only a few problems. One is the defensive AI, which oftenleaves itself open to dunks and fast breaks, and is generally a slouch when itcomes to rebounds. This can be remedied with the higher difficulty levels, butthat makes the computer a flawless shooter, even from behind the line.

The controls are good, but take some getting used to if you've spent a lot oftime with other basketball simulations. Players use the C stick on thecontroller to pass the ball. No button pressing is necessary; just point thestick at the desired player and the ball is away. Unfortunately, this samesystem is used to select defensive players, and that can be difficult, especially if the action is moving fast and furious. The game does feature quitea few game modes: practice, exhibition, season, and even an interesting modethat takes place on top of the roof.

As you might expect, the player models are smooth, crisp, and photorealistic. The animations are detailed with nary a slowdown or glitch. Even the crowd looksgood, and benched players are likewise in full 3-D. The audio isn't soimpressive, however. Never have I heard such uninspired and slow commentary--itoften seems to be describing plays from another game, or worse, talks aboutplays that happened 30 seconds prior to the current action. Not a game breaker, but definitely not as good as the competition.

NBA Courtside 2002, aside from the minor flaws described above, is stilla stellar entry in the basketball fold and an asset for the Nintendo GameCubelibrary. It's worth the purchase now, and with a few fixes, it'll be a realcontender next year. --Bob Andrews

Pros:

  • Fast action; good fundamentals
  • Terrific graphics
Cons:
  • Slow, inaccurate commentary

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun... for a Ten Year Old
NBA Courtside's an entertaining game, a very easy game to learn and play. The biggest drawback of this game is that it's just too simple. There's practically no skill involved in playing this game. There's very little control over dunks, blocks, shooting, and everything else.

The players and their likenesses are in the game, but in terms of skill and everything else, it's just not there.Players' real-life talents and abilities are not relfected in the game, with the exception of Shaq being a poor free-thrower.

The graphics are also very generic. The crowd looks very bad.The two announcers are those who call Clippers games, and are decent, but their limited phrases get old really fast.

One of the minor redeeming qualities of the game is that you can create your own player. This feature is great in that you can customize a large list of physical characteristics about the player.Of course, when it comes to basketball skills, the attributes aren't specific enough to make a noticable impact on game-play.

So if you're looking for a very simple, unrealistic but easy-to-play basketball game without much customization, this one's for you!If you'd actually like skill to be involved in the outcome of a game, look elsewhere.

2-0 out of 5 stars Basic Basketball title
While this game may be pretty fun, other companys offer so much more and for so much less. This is the prime reason this game was overlooked. If you're looking to buy this, then go buy NBA 2k3 instead. It's waaaay better.

1-0 out of 5 stars why buy this?
this game is the absolute worst game i've ever played bcause...

Pros:
There are none

Cons:
Players make imposible dunks
Graphics are horible
Slow gameplay
Fans are real wierd( they take your attention of the game)

overall the game is real bad

2-0 out of 5 stars TOO HARD!
I was in the store and I was looking at the games and there was NBA Courtside 2002. My Mom was with me and she was going to get it for me because it was on sale. But I told her I would want to rent it first. I AM SO GLAD I DID! the menu is hard to under stand! the D is harder then geting a computer with nothing to read or tell you hoe to put it togethere! And the dunks look so odd. There taking steps before they get to the hoop and there not moving! NBA*Street is yhe only other NBA game I'd played for GameCube and I have.If you like fast running, high jumping, crazy dribbaling game NBA*Street is the way to go.

DON"T BUY NBA COURTSIDE 2002!YOU WILL HATE IT!

2-0 out of 5 stars Gamecube Gives a bad impression
When I purchased this game I thought it would end up being one of the best basketball sims I've ever played. Instead, it turned out being one of the most unrealistic games with fair gameplay and outrageous stats. The average player, whether it is Austin Croshere or Shaq averages around sixty points a game and twenty rebounds and fifteen assists. The league leaders average over ninety ppg. The transactions are so unrealistic and you could trade every single player on the Clippers for every single player on the Lakers, or you could create a tean of franchise players. The average score in a game is 200-190. You can steal and block balls as easy as you can say 1-2-3. Forget about this one and do yourself a favor. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for younger kids!
My 6 y/o has played Tony Hawk with his older cousins and I never really liked the "grung" characters and the subliminal (in my opinion)music. Then we rented this Disney game and were thrilled with a great alternative for younger kids! They can do all the tricks, wrack up lots of points, and unlock the higher levels.Lots of fun settings and characters! He really liked creating his own characters that look like real kids! Good clean fun for the younger kids who don't need to be exposed to Tony Hawk yet!If younger kids can quickly beat this game, then perhaps they are spending too much time in front of the screen!Great for the younger kids! Thanks, Disney!

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than you'd think.
This game isn't bad, despite people thinking anything Disney is horrible. It has very similar mechanics as the Tony Hawk series, but it falls short in the game variet of the THPS series. That doesn't mean it isn't fun, however. The game will be more fun than THPS4 in your first time through, but it won't keep you playing forever. All in all, it's a good rental/buy if you're a Disney fan... if not, just get Tony Hawk.

4-0 out of 5 stars Go Goofy Go!!!!
My 6 year old pick this game out himself and has been playing everyday before he goes to school and the the last activity he does at night. He just loves the action of this game and to be truthful we love playing it with him.I recommend this game to the young at heart.

5-0 out of 5 stars We love it.
I don't want to rain on the parade, but every time we rent the thing we have a blastMy 6 and 8 year olds have re-bonded, and they appreciate the Goofy wipe-out ("Hoo Hoo!Garsh!" etc.) over the unrealistic, but nonetheless disturbing blood geysers of T.H.I'm buying it because I value family.
