When I saw this Gameboy Advance version, I knew that it was pretty much similiar to the Dreamcast version by looking at the pictures on the back.I still bought it because I loved the first game so much...why not try portable version, right? however, First of all, they have pretty much transported the same game from the Dreamcast version.Although they have twitched some sequences here and there, it's pretty much the same game. So nothing is really new for those who've played the Dreamcast version. Second, one of the reasons Dreamcast version was so excellent is because of Ulala's flawlessly, seamlessly executed dancing move(man, I don't know why but the way Ulala does dance is so,so.....let me put it this way; 'There's something about Ulala'); the game suffers alot when Ulala's trade mark of 'sexy' dance can not be executed with smooth motion due to console's limitation. Lastly, I do not judge a game by its length except when game does not offer much to the player. The Dreamcast version was pretty short, meaning you could probably finish it in an hour. However, it was worth it because of its refreshing and unique experience I could have from playing it.This Gameboy Advance version, however, is a different story. It was pretty short, again, finished it in less then an hour. However, the same kind of experience I had with the Dreamcast version was nowhere to be found except few recognized scenes, which only brought my old memories back from Dreamcast version even more. I couldn't help but play the Dreamcast version again after finishing this game on Gameboy Advance... and wow... and that's all I could say..'wow' Well, I don't know- It's still a fun game if you are looking for some dancing/rhythm game for your Gameboy Advance; however, I WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME ONLY IF EITHER YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE DREAMCAST VERSION, OR WAS ABLE TO BUY IT AT A RELATIVELY LOW PRICE.However if that is not the case, then I don't really recommend it...may be I could still recommend this one RELUCTANTLY(I'm usually very biased when it comes to reviewing my favorite games, however, this one just doesn't quite get my 'biased' view somehow...) I hope that you would enjoy what UGA and Ulala have to offer! PS: Make sure to play this game with THE HEAD PHONE! It sounds so much better!
Waste of time and money.I had to try to get some store to take it back to exchange for another game.I told them it didn't work. They put it in a game system and no one there questioned me that it didn't work. They all look puzzled at what to do and if the game was working.I felt bad about doing this, but I felt like I was ripped off.I read the reviews here and thought this game might be fun for the kids. If you like THQ games and want something involving rhythm, music or dance, then I would suggest Britney's Dance Beat (but that got poor reviews too). One game that the kids love to play similar to Britney is American Idol.Don't ask me why, but they love to play it.
The point of the game is pretty similar to the child game "Simon Says."You have to press the direction or botton in the same order that the game tells you to.The intersting twist, though, is that you have to press the bottons with the music, on the beat. This makes the game more of a dancing game, and tons of fun to play. If you want something to pass the time, this is excelent. The first part of the game is ofcoarse very easy, but once you get farther into it, the game becomes challenging. The game is tons of fun, and would be great for children especialy.

Amazon.com Review Pokémon characters abound; your young cousin or little sister should beable to rattle off many of their names effortlessly. The game is designed foryoung gamers, and encourages problem solving--something that all parents shouldwant their children to learn while playing a game. Thankfully, the game controlsare easy to pick up, and the tasks are easy to execute. For a puzzle game, this one has a good number of gameplay options and modes.Puzzle University looks simple, at first, but it proves to be a realbrainteaser. In this mode, you must clear the entire screen in a limited numberof moves--a twist that makes the game surprisingly addictive. It's good to seethat Pokémon Puzzle Challenge has made some minor improvements onthe now-classic game of Tetris. Naturally, the graphics are better on the Nintendo 64 version; but, if you'vegot a long ride planned, or that plane's been delayed, this game will turn hoursinto minutes. If you're looking for a family-friendly title for all of the GameBoy Color users in your family, look no further than Pokémon PuzzleChallenge. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Reviews (19)
But there's a downside as well. It's very hard.My 11-year-old sister, a much more rabid Pokemon fan than myself, has informed me of the different ways to play the game so as to win the "extra Pokemon" (Sentret, Marrill, etc.) but it is almost impossible to do so.I have had the game for over a year and have still not managed to win Sentret.Still, it's not as if I'm going to stop trying.(Read: it's not as if I CAN stop trying.) :-)
This is a great puzzle game, and i can see it as a future classic.Personally, i don't like pokemon, but this puzzle game is SO fun I forgot it had anything to do with pokemon(dont ask me how I managed that). One thing that got to me was the sounds the pokemon make when you do special moves...these get quite irritating after a while.BUT, in the options menu you can turn off the pokemon sounds without turning off all the other sounds, or if you hate all the sounds that would be why you have a volume control ^_~.Overall, this game is a must have filled with endless funn...BUY IT!!! ... This is a tetris type puzzle game is fun and simple.it is the type of game you play for hours and lose track of time. I would reccomend this game to people of all ages. if your looking for a great puzzle game you've found it!
The very core of this addictively fascinating game is this "Chain Combo" system where you have to think carefully before you place your falling pieces. You see, the thing with tetris is that you don't really have to think about how you would build your blocks and eliminate them, just keep on stack them and eliminate them whenever you have the right piece (unless you are after big scoring). However, PuyoPop forces you to think before you lay that slowly falling piece if you are going after chain combo, while being able to see what color pieces will be coming next.Of course, this game can be played as tetris, where you just stack them in group of four and eliminate them. However, the real fun comes when and only you play to build this chain combo, and trust me, you will have to think hard (ok, at least for me). I bought GBA Link to play with my friend, and trust me, and trust me, there's nothing like this (and man, I can't believe I'm 28..feel like I'm in jr. high again..) The story mode wasn't that convincing, not at all, but it's better than nothing..yet I believe that this kind of corny story line might be perfect for kids, who know how to appreciate them (in fact, this corny story line might be just perfect for this kind of game..). I can just picture two people, dad and daughter, friends, brothers, sisters, and even lovers.. the possibility is endless...Don't miss this what could be the best multi-player game of all time and experience what the fuss is all about. Ok, I better go and practice to take him down with chain-combo attack!! ... Read more | |

Amazon.com Review It must be stated that these games, while they have been improved, areessentially the same as they were earlier, with these exceptions: names ofpeople and places have been altered--which will disappoint only those who haveplayed the originals--and the graphics are more detailed than before. The differences between the two titles play almost like a history lesson inRPGs. In the first game, players travel as a single character who's set torescue a princess and slay a dragon. In the second game, players manage a partyof four heroes, each of whom has his or her own unique talents in magic orweaponry (or both). The game pits them against multiple enemies at a time, asopposed to a single foe. Also, the addition of a save-anytime feature eliminatesneedless retread. Overall, Dragon Warrior I & II is a great value, and perfect foranyone who's interested in taking a trip, whether it be cross-country or downmemory lane. --Robb Guido Pros: Reviews (33)
PROS: CONS: OVERALL:
DRAGON WARRIOR I: Even though this game was short, it was difficult for me. As i've said, i've never played Dragon Warrior before, so it was new to me. You are the descendant of the dead and legendary hero, Loto (formerly known as Erdrick back on the the original Dragon Warrior for the NES). You as one person, set out on a quest to rescue Lady Lora, daughter of King Lars XVI of Alefgard and defeat the evil Dracolord. In this game, there are several towns were there are inns, weapons and armory shops. You will of course need to equip some weapons ad armory to become more powerful. During the course of the game, you will also get the chance of equiping more powerful equipment. You are also supposed to find two things in this game, the rainstaff and the sunstone. Once you obtain the Loto Seal, go to a shrine south of the town of Rimulbar, talk to the elderly man and he will give you a rainbow drop. You then use the rainbow drop to form a bridge to get to Dracolord's castle. You must be above level 20 to defeat Dracolord's two forms, one as a human like creature, and the other as a monster. It was easy for me. This game alone, i give it 5 stars and above. DRAGON WARRIOR II:Can't say much about this game becuase i'm in the middle of it. This game is way harder than its predecessor. In this game, you the Prince of Lorasia must find the Princess of Moonbrook and the Prince of Cannock and defeat Hargon. The storyline in this game takes place 100 years after Dragon Warrior I. You get to make up a name for you the Prince of Lorasia, but the computer makes up the names for the Prince of Cannock and the Princess of Moonbrook. I can't rate this game as of yet, so you all will have to wait until i beat it. Then i will give you more info on Dragon Warrior II. Now let me bring to your attention the other Dragon Warrior games. I hear Dragon Warrior III for the GBC is the best of the entire legend of Loto series. I hope to get it for my birthday. I have never played with Dragon Warrior IV on the NES, so i don't know anything about it. What's stupid is the idea of Enix not thinking of releasing Dragon Warrior V and Dragon Warrior VI in the United States. I think Enix should release both of them for either the GBA,GCN, and the Playstation 2. That's crazy. Also they should re-release Dragon Warrior IV for the advance. I could tell from these reviews that sales for the previous Dragon Warrior games were successful SO I HOPE ENIX RE-RELEASES DRAGON WARRIOR IV FOR THE GBA. Also, Enix should re-release Dragon Warrior VII for the GCN. Right now, the GCN doesn't have that many good games and not that many RPG's, so the GCN does need a Dragon Warrior game. One final thing. I hear SquareEnix (Square, the company that makes Final Fantasy and Enix have now merged into SquareEnix) i going to release Dragon Warrior VIII for the Playstation 2 sometime in 2004. I HOPE THEY ALSO RELEASE IT FOR THE GCN.Thank you for your attention and so long.
"Dragon Warrior I" is the story about a lone warrior whom must save a kidnapped Princess from a gang of monsters. "Dragon Warrior II" on the other hand tells about a group of heros and their quest to stop a different kind of foe.(I'm not too sure about this one quite yet.) The first is probably the most TOUGHEST of all, while the rest in the series is a bit easier. "Dragon Warrior III" is the best remake of them all yet! But even the old Nes version of "Dragon Warrior IV" is pretty good. "Dragon Warrior: Monsters" is a bit kiddy' like, but still a nice addition. Kinda' reminds me of Pokemon only better!! Here's a small rating for each one: DRAGON WARRIOR I ****(4-stars. Fun gameplay and the option to go anywhere you choose is a good challenge.) DRAGON WARRIOR II *****(5-stars. Better than the original since you get four characters altogether to help. Not too familiar with the story yet). DRAGON WARRIOR III *****(5-stars. A very, VERY cool opening sequence for this one. Especially at the battle against the Dragon. The option to choose characters is awesome! Better than I and II!! DRAGON WARRIOR IV ***(3-stars. Fair gameplay but the movement is VERY poor. It's a cool change that you play as different people in different stories. Battle system can use some improvement though.) DRAGON WARRIOR V ***(3-stars. It's alright, but the graphics went a bit downhill here. Much different than the others in the series but good.). DRAGON WARRIOR VI ****(4-stars. Improved graphics and a worthy sequel. The characters are much, MUCH better than those from part 5.). DRAGON WARRIOR VII (N/A I haven't played this one yet.) OVERALL: An excellent series altogether!!!

I have to admit...when i first started it up, i was thinking: wow, pretty cool. Pretty basic graphics, but alright. And then i was like: hey, the controls are pretty intuitive. Theyre pretty much like the console versions. That's a bonus. And then: oh cool, i can make a custom skater and a custom board with wording on it and stuff. Then the novetly wore off. If you can get this game for $5, go ahead. It'll give you about that much enjoyable gameplay. Otherwise, dont even think about it. I thought it would be cool, considering i've loved all of the console tony hawks. I knew it wasnt going to be the same at all, but i was still expecting it to be fun. It isnt fun after the first level. Just the same old levels and goals recycled over and over. Do yourself a favor and get Advance Wars 2 or Yoshi's Island or Metroid: Zero Mission.

Amazon.com Review The game features two teams of squat, cartoonish, big-headed kids. Some are onthe playing field and some reside in the back zone ready to scoot up a lob andnail an opponent in the back or from the side. The animations, particularly whena kid gets squashed, are amusing, and, after all, are also the point of thegame. Amass points and win the match, then move on to the next horde ofbig-headed kids. There are several kinds of throws you can make to surprise your opponents, including a cool corkscrew throw and a straight-up overhanded bean ball. As youknock teams out (no pun intended), you advance toward the world competition(shades of South Park here), where you represent your favorite nation. You can also link up with an opponent for a little head-to-head action, which isthe best way to dish out some virtual pain onto local bullies who lack your madvideo gaming skills. --Andrew S.
