5-0 out of 5 stars Really Great!!!
This game is really fun but challenging I've played it at least 4 times and had to look at a walk through every time! You'll see all the hams you know from the show and even different hamsters. You save Bijou in the beginning by driving a boat but how to get it working you'll see buy the game as you and Bijou save love for all ham hams in 6 fun challenging levels

5-0 out of 5 stars tinglie! koochi-q! i Smoochie it!
I got this game for christmas from my parents and i've played it ever since. i is kinda
hard to beat but easy at the same time. i've bet it three times now but it is fun all the same. I needed cheats every once in a while. it is one of my three favorite GBA games; harvest moon: friends of mineral town, hamtaro: ham-ham games, and last but not least, Hamtaro: ham-ham heart break.
thank-Q!Bye-Q!

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!
I love this game so much! Hamtaro is my favorite show! It was fun playing it for a really long time and the game lasts awhile, but then I beat it and there is nothing left to do on it. That's why I don't play it anymore. But it was fun while it lasted!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Ham-Ham game
This game is so fun because you can go to differemt places that have hamsters that don't love each other any more. You have to restore thier love. This evil hamster named Spat is trying to stop the hamsters from loving, and only you can stop him. You can even learn more ham-chats as you go to other places. As you go along, you will find rocks, acorns, and sunflower seeds. There are more challenges as you go farther into the game. If you have this game, then I hope you like it. If you don't have this game, then you should try it, I think you might really like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best game ever!

Amazon.com Review

Featuring a new adventure that's filled with numerous enhancements andinnovations, this long-awaited sequel to Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow greatly improves upon the series' winning formula, and makesfor an even more insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience.

Like Pokémon Silver--which essentially is the same story, withminor gameplay variations--Pokémon Gold casts players in thefamiliar role of a young Pokémon Trainer who's out to collect as manydifferent kinds of Pokémon as possible. As in previous games, gameplayconsists mostly of exploration (completing various quests in the process) andPokémon battles, which employ a unique battle system that's like acomplex twist on rock-paper-scissors.

But, despite the similarities, it's quite apparent that PokémonGold is a whole new ball game from the start. The game is played out in realtime, with the current time and day of the week (recorded by an internal clock)having a direct impact on gameplay elements, such as what Pokémon you'llfind in the wild, and when certain events occur and characters appear.

While there are too many new and improved features in Pokémon Goldto list here, among the highlights are 100 new Pokémon (including two newtypes), new evolution processes (including breeding), and a more streamlinedgame interface that has better-organized menus and button shortcuts.

Although it's easier to progress in Pokémon Gold than in theprevious games, the sheer amount of fun and game time that's involved isdaunting. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better value than this one. --JoeHon

Pros:

  • Insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience
  • Time and day of week impact gameplay directly
  • Bevy of new features and hidden secrets
  • Improved graphics and more streamlined game interface
Cons:
  • Minor compatibility issues when using Game Link with previous versions

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Pokemon game ever.
I have played every Pokemon game from Red and Blue to Emerald. (Japan Version) This one simply kicks butt. I say start with Totodile.

3-0 out of 5 stars They should have kept the original 151 Pokémon!
Overall this game is fun and a nice sequel to the original Pokémon adventures, the graphics have improved a lot and the sound has better quality. This game, just like Pokémon Silver has a lot more than Red, Blue and Yellow and is also more challenging, one of the greatest things this game can do is actually get you emotional, how? Well, if you were a fan of the original adventures, then returning to Kanto as a whole new person where everything has changed might get you pretty emotional.

The bad thing, is however the addition of new Pokémon species, I trully believe the original 151 were enough, now there's simply too many. The designs of many of these new creatures look "robotish" and "allienish", they don't have the charm of the original. Also, I began to lose track when these came out, I can't remember the names of all and it is next to impossible to complete your collection here, even with both packs, I believe you are required to get Mew to have full collection and Mew is nowhere to be seen, I hope the developers weren't specting each one of us to get Mew from a special event or by using a Game Shark. Anyways, overall this game was fun, lasted a pretty long time, enough to give you something to do for a while, but my point is there are way too many Pokémon.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best game in the series
Pokemon 2 (Gold and Silver versions.) The second installment in the Game Boy Pokemon RPG series.

Nintendo's Pokemon franchise became a massive success in its native Japan relatively quickly. Although it took the franchise a little longer to catch on in America, it finally did catch on, and when it did, it took the nation by storm. Pokemon games and products sold like crazy, despite the fact that the franchise was virtually unrecognized in America at its time of release. Finally in the late summer/early fall of 2000, the second games in the series got an American release. How does Pokemon 2 measure up? Read on for my review.

PROS:
-THIS GAME GIVES YOU MORE OF THE SAME MONSTER CATCHING AND BATTLING ACTION THAT YOU HAVE GROWN TO LOVE IN THE FIRST GAME. To put it simply, if you liked the first game, it's quite unlikely that you won't like this one.
-THE GAME GRAPHICS ARE DRASTICALLY IMPROVED OVER THOSE OF THE PREDECESSOR TITLES. In this game, the graphics are not only improved, but the game is also optimized to make usage of Game Boy Color and Super Game Boy enhancements.
-IT'S NOT JUST A REHASH OF THE FIRST GAMES. Although the game uses the same general formulas, the game is entirely new, and the world is much larger this time around. Beat the game, and you can even go to the continent where the original game took place!
-NINTENDO DESIGNED THIS GAME WITH PLAYER CONVENIENCE IN MIND. Remember how in the first game you had to go through all those menus just to use an item (like your bike or fishing pole?) Well, in this game, you can set the select button to use an item! This really comes in handy and speeds up the general flow of the game.
-TONS OF NEW CREATURES AND ABILITIES. The original games had roughly a hundred and fifty-one creatures, and these games give you roughly a hundred new ones! This is too cool.
-THE GAME HAS AN INTERNAL CLOCK THAT KEEPS TRACK OF THE TIME OF DAY AND THE DAY OF THE WEEK. Different events happen at different times of the day and on different days. This makes the game all the more appealing.
-YOU CAN TRADE WITH ALL OTHER POKEMON RPG GAMES THAT PREDATED THE GAME BOY ADVANCE ONES. This will make it easy to get your hands on certain creatures from the old games. In fact, some the old creatures DO NOT appear in these games, so you're gonna have to do some trading to complete your Pokedex.
-THE GAME INTRODUCES THE CONCEPT OF BREEDING POKEMON. If you get a male and a female Pokemon together at the Daycare center, they just might lay an egg! This concept is necessary to get many of the new "baby" Pokemon in the game.
-THE GAME INTRODUCES TWO NEW POKEMON TYPES - DARK AND STEEL. Adding in the new types means you're going to have to rethink your gaming strategies - or create new ones entirely! The new types only add to the overall fun of the game.

CONS:
-MINOR COMPATIBILITY ISSUES WHEN TRADING WITH OLDER GAMES. For example, you can't send the new Pokemon species into your older game, nor can you send old species that have new moves. This is bound to get on your nerves, believe me.
-THE MYSTERY GIFT CONCEPT IS FLAWED. If you and a friend own a Game Boy Color, you can use Mystery Gift with your infrared ports to each get a random item, once a day. The only problem is that this requires a Game Boy COLOR - The Game Boy Advance doesn't have an infrared port!

OVERALL:
Pokemon 2 is, to date (as of July 4, 2004), the best game in the Pokemon series. In my mind, these games are even better than the new Game Boy Advance games, Ruby and Sapphire. If you can find one of these Pokemon 2 games in your local used games store, they are well worth picking up. Pokemon games aren't likely to get a whole lot better than these ones.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Game
I love this game! Here's a tip: START WITH CYNDAQUIL! Cyndaquil is strong against most of the Gym Leaders and it's final form Typhlosion is a kick-butt Pokemon against the Elite 4.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST PKMN GAME EVER!!
ok, ive played tons of pkmn games and i own very many and i believe this is the best. its a whole lot easier to beat than yellow, but its still really good and a good challenge. this was my very first role-play game and i still love it best even when i have the newest PKMN ruby game for GBA.
the graphics arent as good as GBA, BUT its best for GB
the music is cool
the whole plot and all the places and everything is awesome

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best HM game yet!
This was the BEST HM game I'd ever played! You can take care of animals, grow tons of crops, and own more than one horse! You can even marry your partner, but the game ends after you do if you're a girl. But don't worry- you don't have to get married!Overall, the best game you could ever own!

5-0 out of 5 stars totally awsome natsume is genious!!!!!!!!!!!
this game is awsome i got it 4 christmas and it it totally rad ive played FMT but i threw it away because of harvest goddes false church curses but the gamecube version was fun but i didnt have anything left to buy this one is the bomb if your lucky to get your hands on one [...] you will have loads of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Wow! The hardest (but still good) HM yet!
I've been a big fan of the Harvest Moon series all along. But when I came across a used cartridge of this game, I just had to buy it. Harvest Moon is what I would cal; "A whole other door into RPG fun". The idea of raising a farm sounds stupid, but once you play this game- you will be hooked.

Graphics (4/5) If you have played HM2, you'll notice a similarity in the graphics. They are still the same, with small details within the weeds, stones, etc. A good option for this game is that you can choose the farmer's clothes... suiting to your liking of the graphics. I find this system really neat! Overall, the graphics are the standard ones, but I love changing the colors of the outfits!

Controls: (4/5)- Alright, since this is a GBC game, the controls are simple simple simple. Hold B to run, and A to use tools. Its that easy to control your farmer! The only thing is that choosing the tools involves pressing select, then pressing A, then pressing select over the tool you want, then pressing B, and press select to close the menu. Also, you have to hold B and a direction to run, which gets your finger hurting and can damage your GBC/GBA in minutes.

Gameplay (5/5) I find the gameplay in this game just terrific! Farming may not sound so great, right? But it is amazingly addicting!

Also, this game has a big change from the other gameboy games. To start, you can get married to your partner who you were trying to help out. Also, there is a totally different island to go on that is for shopping, watching movies, etc. There are a number of cutscenes, and I like the fact that they mean something- rather than just to have fun.

Crops are another feature that differs from the other games. In HM3GBC , you have a shovel in which you can dig a pond and spring up. You can use this shovel to make waterways in your fields so you can plant the one of a kind crop- rice.

Now animals take the spotlight. A new animal is avalible in this game- a horse. But not just one, but eight of them you can own. This game also offers a unique breeding system. Instead of a miracle potion, you have to put two opposing gendered animals in this corner of your barn. Basically, breeding is free and efficiant to raising a successful farm.

Finally, instead of slowly upgrading your house and starting with furniture, it is the other way around. You buy furniture for a huge house... but at a costly price. In this game, you gotta work hard to succeed, or else you will fail.

Replayability- (3/5) Most Harvest Moon games have great replay value. However, this game wouldnt have what I consider "hours of replay". There are tons of upgrades for your house and everything, but once you get all of the upgrades, the idea of farming is useless. What does the money go to? Buying seeds. Where do the seeds go? In the bin to make a profit. When you have everything, though, what is the use of a profit.

Overall-(4/5) Overall this game is worth every penny. With over 50 new features, this game is a total blast. I would highly recommend this for long car trips, as the gameplay lasts for 30+ hours. If you ever see this game on amazon or at another retailor, pick it up. This game is VERY VERY rare and hard to find nowadays, as very few copies were made. For those of you who haven't played the series, and are looking for a challenge, get this game for sure!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good!
Harvest Moon one had a failure which rested in the tool system. Sometimes you would lose your tools and couldn't get them back. Harvest Moon 2 was okay but I never got into it that much.

This game is fantastic and blows away the other two. You now can raise 32 animals at a time. 8 cows, 8 horses, 8 chickes, and 8 sheep. If you are the girl your job is to do the animals while the boy works, or, if your the boy, you till the soil while the girl does the animal stuff. You can also do some minigames and build relationships with people in town.

There are problems with this game. The major one is that you need to build up your relationship with the girl or the boy(depending on the one you are) to have them do work. I'm the boy right now and the girl doesn't do much unless you give her items that you harvest. Once you do give more she will become much better but at first she is rather useless. I tried the girl and the same thing happens. The boy is too lazy to clear the field. He removes basically a rock and gives up. In time he gets better but it takes exactly that, time.

This is a good game. It gets fun and you have plenty of years to accomplish your goals. 5 stars!

3-0 out of 5 stars Harvest Moon 3
Harvest Moon 3 is the bomb game! You have to befriend the people inntown, and they don't always say the same thing OVER and OVER again. The only thing is you have to get your own boat if you want to go to the market.Things can get kind of boring, but the events are fun!Plus you don't have to build the barns and you can have up to I think 8 animals of each! I'm really 13, but this game is for ALL ages! The best game so far for Harvest Moon is Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.
Hope you have fun with yours because I lost mine,

4-0 out of 5 stars Buffy is greater than ever!
This game is great! It has great moves and art, but the game is short and the comics could use a tad bit more work. Otherwise, this game is fantastic. I played it with my friend for only ten minutes when he was not interested in Buffy, but now he has 5 seasons on DVD! I guess this game really is magic! Buy it today! PS: It'll be worth every penny!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Being a huge Buffy fan, I was rather excited when I found out about this game. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment.

On the plus side, the storyline is very Buffy-esque and the dialogue in the comic book style cutscenes fits the characters perfectly. Therefore, playing through the game and watching the story unfold is sort of like seeing an episode of the show play out..albeit through poorly drawn comic book pages.

Unfortunately, the game itself is quite bad. The backgrounds are about par for Gameboy, but the character graphics are rather blocky. The gameplay is repetitive and mind-numbingly simple. Here's how things play out: You walk a bit on the screen. A vampire shows up. You trip and/or hit said vampire so he/she falls down. Walk over to the vampire on the ground and stake him/her. Repeat one or two dozen times. Go to the next level. Start the process over again. Some vampires are a little more powerful or difficult, but the technique basically remains the same. The first (and only) time I played the game, I beat it without dying once. I think it took less than an hour.

Like I said, Buffy fans might still enjoy reading through the storyline, but don't expect much (if anything) from the gameplay, which offers maybe a few minutes of mindless fun before becoming tedious. I'd recommend a rental at most since, in all likelihood, it'll last about an hour and you'll never play it again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buffy is Awesome
Ok so I am a Buffy fan so I love this game. It's like one of those old martial arts games except it has a storyline. So basically you are watching a Buffy episode except your the one who is kicking butt. The game lets you know what buttons to push to do certain moves and it also gives you a password every time you complete a level, which is cool for me since I am constantly dying on the fourth level. I hope this helps you out and I hope you love it as much as I do!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I thought this was a really great game, but not exactly what I expected. I thought that there would be more of a challenge to kille the vampires/demons, but it was all very easy. You just have to kick and punch them a few times, then stick your stake into them and continue. It was a very fun game, and I would recommend it to any Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans or Tomb Raider fans.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Bit Let Down....But It Was All Fun
I must admit, the game was kind of a letdown. You go through similar Sunnyale settings and kill differently dressed vampires. It was kind of interesting to see what the vampire would be dressed like next, and some had more "powers" than others. There are two exceptions to the vampires. There were monsters that seemed to be covered in mud of some sort, and at the end, you fight a very big demon. He's the final boss, but it only took one stake to get him. And originally, stakes don't kill demons, but they kept it simple.

The controls were kind of difficult, but as the game went along, you got used to it. You would have to get the vampire on the ground, kneel down, and then stake him. But you have to be at a certain point near them to where you can stake them. I found it easy to get them cornered in one side of the screen, then take them down and stake them.

The graphics are what you would expect from Gameboy Color. Nothing extravagant. The backgrounds are pretty nice though, and it was great to see the Hyena exhibit -- complete with red glowing eyes -- in the Sunnydale Zoo.The storyline is this: Ethan Rayne (A well-known villain in Sunnydale) has returned to Sunnydale to retrieve The Book of Ancients. A very powerful book that will be used -- by Ethan -- to open the Hellmouth. The book is only known by vampire covens from around the world (Which explains the differently dressed vampires) which must be present at the opening of the Hellmouth.

The characters from Buffy in the game were Buffy (of course), Giles, Willow, Xander, and Anya. Although the Initiative is one of the levels, Riley was nowhere to be seen. There are also guest appearances by Cordelia and Angel.

All in all, the game could've been more difficult and took me longer to play. But you do get hooked on trying to kill the Ninja Vamps...or the European Top Hat Vamps...or the Egyptian Lady Vamps...or the... ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars This game is not really difficult
I found this game, ok... i guess. it wasnt really all that great. I mean, sure, at first it's fun but then I simply began to play for the pleasure of finding out what the next level was about. I was also playing the Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 and I played more often because it was more fun and then I beat the game. Once I beat the game I began to play Donkey Kong and it was SO easy. I beat it in a few days of 1 hour per day. If you want a game that is really difficult and will last quite a while, dont pick this game. It was extremely boring.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still my favourite game ever
Donkey Kong Country is the number one videogame of all time, as far as I'm concerned. I'm hardly what you'd call a videogame connoisseur, but my brother (who is) agrees that this game is a classic. The music is excellent, too!

4-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVE ANGER MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS
This game is a lot of fun, the graphics are very nice, and the music is okay.Plus it has two new minigames which are pretty good. But some of the levels, especially the later ones, are very very very very very... (3 hours later) ...very very very very hard.I remember I was stuck, on one infamous occasion, on the level "Millstone Mayhem" (they like to alliterate) and it was so difficult that I went so far as to renounce all monkeys before clearing it.It's a lot easier for me now than it was, though.Oh, and after defeating Normal Mode and getting about ninety percent of it completed (I think), you can unlock Hero Mode, where you just play as Diddy Kong.I liked this because I got to play as one of my very favorite Kongs, but I also disliked it because there aren't any Save Barrels and Diddy has all the disadvantages.
Overall, this game is a lot of fun, and it's pretty much worth buying, unless you get easily frustrated at harder levels. Then you might want to think about it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Riley's review
I am six years old.
The game is hard but exciting. It has lots of different areas. There are more than 10 levels.

2-0 out of 5 stars Donkey Kong Country?
Not exactly.I was a die-hard fan of Donkey Kong Country when it came out for the SNES, and I had hoped that this game would be a re-release of the same game for new fans to enjoy.
It's not.
This is why, more or less, the grade is so low.I loved that old SNES game to death.I think I may have loved it a little TOO much, however, because I waited several days before actually entering my name to play it.Why?Because although I turned the game on the very first day, the absence of that wonderful image of Cranky with the phonograph made me realize I wasn't back in Kansas, so to speak.
Yes, you may get some kicks out of this game if you're a new gamer.Yes, you may find it amusing if you were a casual fan of the original, but for an orthadox Kong-aholic like me, I just don't reccomend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Game for a Beginner Game Boyer

5-0 out of 5 stars mom of 1 angel loves rescue heros
I bought this game for my 4 year old for christmas and he loved it and with a little (and I mean little) he beat all 8 levels and the game the other day.We played it through the game player on our gamecube so it was easier to see.Great game Billy Blazes never dies, not violent.good choice for young ones

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game for 5 and 6 year olds
What a great game boy advance game!We searched high and low for something my 5 year old could play on his game boy that wouldn't frustrate him...this game fits the bill perfectly! He is a rescue hero fan, which makes this game even more fun! It's challenging enough to interest him, his 6 year old brother and even me, his mom, yet it's simple enough that he can get through the levels and feel a sense of accomplishment.I would highly recommend this game for the younger set of game boy players! It's really fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of top 3 rated games in Nintendo Power when released
Look...if you're too old to care who the rescue heroes are, don't bother. But if your kid is in that age range, this is just a good game.

When it came out, it was one of the top rated games in Nintendo Power...GameBoy Advance or otherwise. The developer also did Sabrina, and the publisher was Knowledge Adventure division of Vivendi, and they know kids.

It's challenging for the older kids, but the easy level will let the player be Billy Blazes and put out fires without much worry about dying, and that's going to be fun.

I doubt anyone is ever going to spend as much money as they probably did on a Rescue Heroes game again, so get it before it leaves the shelf.

Amazon.com Review

You don't have to be MacArthur to recognize that Advance Wars isone of the best strategy war games for any console. The game pits four fictionalcity-states in a battle for territory. Your job as commanding officer is todefeat the enemies in turn-based combat over land, air, and sea. AdvanceWars has a stiff learning curve, but its interactive tutorials can turn thegreenest GI into agreat leader of pixelated men. AW also offers manymultiplayer options, including the ability to play against a friend by passingthe GBA back and forth. To extend the possibilities, you can also create newbattlefields and trade them with others. Despite cutesy visuals, this is a verydeep game that is also accessible. For GBA generals looking to flex theirtactical muscles or anyone looking for a simply great GBA game, look no further.--Mark Brooks

Pros:

  • Clear and informative graphics
  • Ideal interface for the tiny GBA screen
  • Lots of multiplayer and customization options.
Cons:
  • Misleadingly cute box art (this is not a game for tots!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Best turn-based strategy I've ever played
You take on the role of a Commanding Officer (CO) in a cartoony world at perpetual war with itself. Easy to get into, and deceptively deep. Advance Wars is strategy at its best. What makes it so special? First, the graphics are great. The animations are instant gratification when a well-timed attack turns the tide of battle, help you visualize battle results in several ways so you know exactly how your units are doing. Second, the options for multiplayer are excellent. Because the game is turn based, 4 players can play together even on only one system. Grab a friend, and enjoy the anticipation of having the system handed back to you and seeing your opponent smirk as you stumble into their trap (playing on seperate systems can be done, but isn't nearly as fun).

The most important facet of this game is depth. Fog of War (where parts of the map your units can't see are blacked out) makes for intensity- you're always trying to calculate what forest or hilltop might contain enemy units waiting for you. The basics of troop movements give way to incredible strategy (delay the enemy tank by sacrifing your troops, or retreat and lure the tank into range of your artillery?). Each CO is completely unique (Max has stronger tanks, but weaker artillery. Sami has tougher troops, but weaker vehicles) and thier individual powers add an extra level of depth to the process.

Advance Wars is an amazing game for singleplayer action. Add in a full-featured map creator, a ton of unlockable COs, and the wealth of options, and this is one of the best multiplayer games on the GameBoy. A must-have.

5-0 out of 5 stars War Chess
This game is basically chess, with more units, you can move all of your units per turn, and you can create units. It is challenging, but it is very fun.Not to mention its a gameboy game, so you can play it anywhere :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Review To The Other 190 Out Of 229!!!!
Like the REAL people out there said: awesome, thrilling, attractive, exiciting, strategic, "A two thumbs up!", "A never put down until your through!!!", "THE BEST!".

Bum, dum, dum, bum (drum beating for background music). "The best high firepower strategy game yet!!". ADVANCE WARS. Now being bought...SO BUY IT!!!!!

PS: And what boy would not think Sami is sexy?!?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Turn Based Strategy Game
Advanced Wars is everything you could ask for in a strategy game. If you're like me and you love turn based strategy then look no further, Advance Wars is definately up to par with the host of other tactical RPGs for GBA. While it's not an rpg by any means i can't see anyone who likes Final Fantasy Tactics not falling in love with this game. I love turn based strategy and Advance Wars is definately pretty high up on the list of must owns for the genre.

The lack of an RPG element (which has pretty much taken over turn based strategy games in recent years) is somewhat of a blessing. Don't get me wrong i enjoy building up characters but it's definatly a nice change of pace to be able to just jump in and start playing without worrying about much else.

It's also worth mentioning that Advance Wars is fairly difficult. The extensive tutorial while somewhat annoying in its length is probably necessary for the vast majority of gamers. There are quite a few battles where one mistake will easily put you out of commission.

Advance Wars definely deserves 5 Stars

5-0 out of 5 stars Frickin' Addicting!
Man ... I just got totally sucked into this game. It's a lot of fun.Not an action game at all ... you have to use your head.I think if you liked Pikmin for the GC, you'll like this game. And, I'll go the other way on this one then too ... if you like this game ... make sure you get Pikmin on the GameCube. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars All the charm of Pokemon without copying it
(Immediate note: The creatures are demons, but there is nothing even slightly demonic about the game.)

I had a lot of fun with this game. It has the addictive, monster-collecting quality of the pokemon games, plus plenty of exciting originality to keep a player interested. I enjoyed that the demons you collect are as intelligent as human beings (They speak English and have personalities) and must be convinced to join your party, not beaten up and captured. Some demons can only be acquired through fusions (An incredibly fun facet of this game! or trades. Also, you can have more than one demon in play, sometimes allowing a player to use exciting combination attacks that only certain demons can perform together. This game provided me with hours of gameplay, and unlike many games, does not simply end or repeat itself after beating the final boss. Collecters, fighters, explorers, come and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Hybrid that surpasses its parents
At first glance I knew I had to pick up this game. That was probably because it was one of the few early released localized import titles. This game combinds some of the best elements from our favorite games. It has the addictive collection drive of the early Pokemon titles(you know those ones where they were all unique and not just palette and move swapped copies) with a collection list of well over 300 different demons. Plus, the game allows you to utilize your collection by allowing you to enter 3 demons into the fray, your 'avatar' and 2 of your collected demons. This brings back the strategy of team design that Dragon Warrior capitalized on. The storyline is rather compelling. Its full of disapperances, old legends, kidnappings, power struggles and much more. I found the story at times more interesting than the Megaman or Fire Emblem. The character management takes place through the innovative 'fusion' process, where you can merge two demons together to make a stronger one or create an entirely new one. If you like having almost complete control over your characters development, then the fusion system will 'rev your engine'.The only drawback to this game is that the maps that you collect can only be viewed in the area you are in, at times you would be stuck walking to the next area to look at the map. This gets a whole lot easier once you recieve a teleport item/demon. With so many things to collect and monsters to fuse the replay value is quite high. If you are looking for a solid game to add to your GBA collection that will provide many hours of fun and great gameplay, pick up Demi-Kids:Day of Darkness. If you are really daring, then also pick up the light version so you can see the parallel side of the story!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever
This is the best game ever No matter what anyone else says this game is worth it. this happens to be the most graphicly advanced rpg of it's time and you should get it, the fact that it is so absorbed in it's plot gives it a good touch and the level system is great So get this game it is awesome!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Mixed
This game is a mix between some of the best RPGs of the GBA. It is mixed with pokemon because of method of travel. Dragon Warrior because of the battle sequences. And Mega Man Battle Network because of the cut-scenes. I hope you like this game. ... Read more

Editorial Review

While it's basically the same game as the previously released Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue,Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition features enhancements thatmake it the best version yet. In all three versions, the player is on a quest tobecome the World's Greatest Pokémon Trainer, with exploration andPokémon battles (think advanced paper-scissors-rock) factoring heavilyinto the gameplay. While the game world is the same in all three versions, thePokémon you encounter vary from version to version; the underlying goalof collecting all 151 Pokémon can only be met by trading Pokémonvia Link Cable with anotherplayer with a different Pokémon version. (Players can also battle againstone another using the Link Cable setup.)

Pokémon Yellow follows the TV cartoon series more closely than theother versions. Your first Pokémon in Yellow is Pikachu, and hetravels alongside you as opposed to inside a Pokéball (like mostPokémon). Pikachu's mood can be displayed virtual pet style: keepinghim happy is important, as his mood affects certain events in the game. Inaddition to the inclusion of other TV show elements like Team Rocket, new battlemodes between players are available as well as a secret game called Pikachu'sBeach.

If you haven't played any of the Pokémon games before,Pokémon Yellow is the best place to start. But whilePokémaniacs will go gaga over Yellow's new features, lessenthusiastic veterans of Red and Blue may not find the extras tobe quite so special. --Joe Hon

Pros:

  • Best version yet of the highly addictive Pokémon game
  • Pikachu's moods raise the game's cuteness bar to an all-new level
  • Features new battle modes between players
  • Includes Pikachu's Beach secret game
Cons:
  • Pokémon battles can be repetitive at times
  • New features may not be enough for some Pokémon veterans

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Game!
For whoever it was that asked about the difference between the colors, Red, Blue, and Yellow are exactly the same except that some Pokemon are available only in whichever version you get. Gold and Silver are completely different adventures, and they also have no differences except for the Pokemon. Crystal is the same as Gold and Silver except BETTER! :) Ruby, Sapphire, and, I suppose, Emerald have the same rule.

As for my review for this game, it's excellent! Even at my age, I have fun playing all the Pokemon games, especially this game, and I must tell you, it never gets boring! Every game is different, and each time you discover something new! I highly recommend this game, and the others!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon Yellow Rocks!
Pokemon Yellow is my best game yet! It's a challenging game, with 8 awesome gym leaders, your rival, (You can name him in the begining of the game) and Prof.Oak! (who will give you a bulbasaur, charmander,or squirtle at the start) All of this put together makes one mind-blowing game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Yellow: the best game of the Poke'mon Saga
These are some great things about Yellow:

1: You can get all of the 3 starting Poke'mon.

2: You can get a Machoke from an in-game trade, but it evoloves to a Machamp after you trade with a girl in Route 5

3: Dragoniar, Pidgeiotto and Venomoth are some of the wild poke'mon you'll find.

4: Cathing both Scyther and Pinsir or Arcainine and Ninetales will be a snap.

Bad things about Yellow:

1: 13 Poke'mon you'll have to trade from Red or Blue.

2: Gym leader's poke'mon are at higher levels.

3: Barely there is any poision types that are wild.

4: Not much In-game trading.

Overall: 4 and a half stars

Amazon.com Review

Megaman Battle Network 3 has a few significant improvements over the past two games in the series, but the overall concept is the same. Lan solves puzzles in the "real world," while Megaman.exe fights viruses and solves puzzles on the Net. The battle system is still the same, and that isn't a bad thing--it is still the best live action battle system for any RPG on a handheld.

At this point in the story, it's been about a month since Lan and Megaman's encounter with the nefarious Net Mafia Gospel, and a new semester at school is about to start. When Lan and his classmates are invited to the seemingly innocent net battler Semi-Finals at ACDC Square, little do they know that a new, incredibly evil plan is about to be hatched!

The most exciting addition to the game, hands down, is that you can now make your own Megaman with segments of code that you gather throughout the game. Watch out, though: Do it badly, and you can get a buggy program. In addition to programming your own Megaman, you can still change Megaman's battle styles (just like in Battle Network 2). The end result is the best character creation system on a handheld.

In a homage to the Pokemon games, there is both a White and Blue version of Megaman Battle Network 3. The game is more or less the same, but there are unique cards, styles, and programs for each version--which makes trading and battling via link cable a real incentive.

In short, Megaman Battle Network 3 is one of the best RPG's for the GBA, and is appropriate for all ages. Fans of traditional Megaman games will also like the live action battles. –-Bryan Karsh

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow! I'm impressed!
At first, I was a bit skeptic of the BN series. I like all the other megaman series, but I saw megaman BN and didn't know what to think. At first it seemed to different, but while talking to other Megaman community members, they convinced me into trying it. I bought this one because it was the cheapest I could find. I was extremely impressed with the cool action sequences and good storyline. The play is really addictive. I never care for graphics, but if you really are a visomaniac, I suppose you might not like them.

1-0 out of 5 stars bad
this game is supposed to be about dueling, that is what yugioh is about.in this game you barely duel, because after you beat a person they go away untill you turn off your gba and then turn it back on,so you do not have alot of people to deul. But it does have good graphics.

3-0 out of 5 stars Yu-Gi-Oh - The Sacred Cards GBA
This game is pretty much easy for me anyway because I could beat this game every day and win the entire game with in 3 HOURS with the help of 1 extra item and its called the GAME SHARK its a machine its not a game that allows you to beat any VIDEO Game Depending on the game system for example the Game Shark for GAME BOY ADAVNCE it will only work on GAMEBOY ADVANCE games and the SP system as well when you use the GAME SHARK on The Sacred Cards you don't need to use very low attack power and Defense power u could win any body with in 1-6 turns
bacause you get the following:

DECK CAPACIRTY : 9,999
DUELIST LEVEL : 9,999
MONEY/DOMINO : 999999 well something like that but its 9's.

And you can automatically use HIGH ATTACK POWER like DARK ELF with an attack strength of 2000 DEF 0800 very high. Well I will talk back A.S.A.P on another GAME REVIEW.

p.s the strongest SACRED CARDS DECK 00-40 cards :

if i were you i'd not buy this game you can get it at alote cheaper price for only less than 12.00

5-0 out of 5 stars GR8......but short!
I played this game and found that it was SUPERB,the characters are cool and the battle with marik is also a little hard.Fans of yugioh!,im not saying its A MUST HAVE,but still buy this game.

I finished this game in 10 hrs.Its toooooo short.i came to the museum part in no time.it's also a bit educational.

once you get some great card passwords u can finish this game at no time at all!

also, don't buy this game if you dont know:

what yugioh! is,

you don't know how to duel,

and if you've only HEARD of it and not even know a single character.

i gave this gome to a friend of mine and he didnt know a thing a bout yugioh!.The next day he came and gave me the cartridge as if it was poisonous or somethin' AND HE DID'NT LIKE IT AT ALL.and then he started hating yugioh!.until he went to the site and knew how to play;-D

3-0 out of 5 stars Very flawed
So I bought this game knowing nothing about Yu-gi-oh. The rules are supposed to be complicated but reading manuals is boring too. So I just played. From the first fight I won every time because it's completely trivial. There's no strategy - choosing what to do is a completely mechanical process. In fact, that's probably why the rules are what they are, dumbed down enough so some incompetent programmer could implement a mindless AI to play them.

Between duels there's an RPG, of sorts. It works like this. Talk to lots of people. Once you've talked to the right person (you're rarely told when this happens) a change of state in the game happens (like a new area becomes available). That's it. You just have to go round every location talking to everyone until something changes. And then you have to go round talking to everyone again until the next change happens. Eventually an important change happens: you can enter the finals.

And now it changes. Suddenly the opponents have decent cards and it becomes challenging to win. In fact, it's downright impossible. And just to rub it in, at this point the save game feature is taken away from you. How mean is that? They let you think the game is trivial until the end where the game mercilessly kills you. But there's an easy way to deal with this. You Go back to your last game save and reload. Now you just have to pick one character, like Rex Raptor, and play against him over and over and over and over and over again until you get enough capacity points to be able to use powerful cards. This is probably the dumbest aspect of the game. You can have the best cards in the universe in your 'trunk' but you can't use them until you've played duels agains piddly weaklings over and over again enough times for you to have a chance in the finals.

Having said that, when you do get your deck vaguely powerful the finals are kinda interesting. Suddenly there seems to be a little bit of strategy. Unfortunately I can't quite finish the very last battle because the opponent has cards way more powerful than your own. Oh well, it's back to playing Rex again and again and again and again and again... ... Read more

This game is one of the best ever! I think it has nothing to do with the last two movies ,only the first. I gave five stars because it is a fun game where you have to create your own Jurassic Park. The goal of the game is to make your own dino park and survive twenty years. The game is hard but really fun. It's graphics could be better, but the game is fun anyway. The excavation crew has to be sent in search of amber for DNA, which you create eggs from in the lab, 140 in all. Some DNA is rare though, such as spinosaurus and tyrannosaurus rex. Good Luck!

Amazon.com Review

Since the early '90s, the Breath of Fire series has been a staple onboth the Super Nintendo and Sony PlayStation systems. This version for the GameBoy Advance is a perfect handheld port of the original Super Nintendo game thatstarted it all.

The story is standard, but solid, fare--you are Ryu, a member of the WhiteDragon clan, and your task is to save the world from the Black Dragon clan. Intimes past, the two clans were actually one clan, but split in a horrendous wardue to an evil and meddling goddess. While the White clan has maintained peacesince then, the Black clan hasn't. Get the drift?

While the story is fairly black and white (pardon the pun), the gameplay itselfis where the game shines. Each character has unique skills and abilities thatunlock special areas of the game. For example, Ryu can fish if he finds afishing pole. Later in the game, he can transform into a dragon during battle.Another character can walk through forests unimpeded and shoot animals for food. What's neat about this system is that as you gain companions with differentskills, you can go back to earlier parts of the game to unlock areas that areonly accessible via their skills. This adds to the replay value and depth of thegame.

The battle system is the standard turn-based, random-encounter biscuits andgravy that most console gamers have come to expect. While not as engrossing as,say, Golden Sun's battle system, the shape-shifting at higher levels addssome enjoyment while fighting the ubiquitous nasties. Two added feature for theGBA version are automatic fighting, which is good for when you don't want to gothrough all the motions of turn-based combat, and an ability to swap items witha friend's version of the game through the separately soldlink cable.

The graphics and sound are decent, but largely unimproved from the original SNESversion, so they will seem dated. However, if you are into 16-bit, 2-Drole-playing games, you'll find that the graphics look good on the GBA's screen. The sound is a faithful reproduction, but can sound tinny at times. --BryanKarsh

Pros:

  • Fun skill system that allows you to unlock hidden areas in the game
  • Link option to trade items with friends
  • Auto fighting option for those endless battles
  • A nice story and a huge world to explore
Cons:
  • Too many random battles
  • Graphics are dated
  • Sound is a little tinny

5-0 out of 5 stars Right up there with Final Fantasy
Im a big rpg player and out of all the games ive played, BOF is one of my top favotites. It has a solid story line with Ryu who is out to stop the dark drangons whom threaten to take over the world with the power of the goddes Tyr and find his sister who was captured by the dark dragon clan.Along the way Ryu meets up with seven companions who in turn are out to stop the dark drangons who have wronged them, Nina, Bo, Carn, Gobi, Ox, Blue, and Mogue. Each character posses their own unque abilities as which is common in all rpgs and are essential to the game. What is unique is that Ryu can transform himself into the dragon and you must searc the continents to find his other dragon forms and eventually transform into the ultimate dragon, Angi (not sure of the spelling).

For those of you who wish to obtain all of Ryu's dragon forms, all you have to do is aquire the Rod 5 which is in a chest under Gust and then fish in all the wells to obtain the dragon armors needed to be allowed in the dragon shrines. In one such well you will obtain a slab inscribing how to obtain the ultimate dragon power.Once you have all the other powers (not angi) you go to the water canve and go all the way to where you got the ring and decend the steps into the water to go underwater to a small cave....that is where angi lies.

The most diffucult part of this game for me was getting thru the dream worlds where things get twisted and walls disappear...you'll know what i mean once you play...it is very frustrating...but the game is a lot of fun, and i would recommend it to anyone who needs to find a good rpg to play.

For anyone who wants hints to the game you can email me at sailor_moon_4evah@yahoo.comive played this game thru five times and know it inside and out.Play it, im sure you'll love it.

4-0 out of 5 stars hate
I bought this game and couldnt wait to play it when I first got my GBA, but then I kept getting stuck in the same place and had no patience and then when I saved it didnt show and I had to keep starting over, uggh maybe that just my game but man im staying away from breath of fire and most roleplaying games (no patience). The only thing I liked was the graphics, but if you have great patience go ahead and buy, be my guest.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very engaging RPG
Final Fantasy aside, Breath of Fire is one of the longest-running RPG series around, and the handheld version of the first adventure gets decent treatment. Yet despite the re-appearance of the game's fresh visuals and unique play aspects, the lifeless narrative doesn't provide the immersive experience that you'd expect. Originally released by Square on the Super NES in 1994, Breath of Fire arrives on the Game Boy Advance with enhanced cinemas, but otherwise remains unchanged. You play as Ryu, a lone hero who can also transform into a variety of powerful dragons. During the course of Ryu's quest, various characters join your party, each with their own personal demons and diversions that involve the entire team. An RPG's lifeblood is a strong story, but BoF's narrative is remarkably uninvolving. You'll spend a lot of time engaging in mundane tasks-"talk to A, then B, then A again, and then C"-and navigating a series of seemingly endless mazes. Even the turn-based battles lack flair, except for the boss battles. Be prepared to spend a lot of time with this one, but a new Dash feature speeds you through the game and saves batteries. BoF delivers a tight visual and audio package. Colorful sprites fill the screen with arresting colors and special effects, while the soundtrack provides decent music accompanied by muted sound effects. Workmanlike controls feature easy menu navigation and responsive character movement. On the whole, Breath of Fire is an enjoyable RPG that easily kills spare time. Just don't expect a thoroughly involving adventure on the same level as later games in the series.

2-0 out of 5 stars Faithful Rendition of a Tired, Flawed Game
Firstly, I've played a lot of RPG's over the years, and own every game in the Breath of Fire series as well... but you'd think that if Capcom was going to re-release an old copy of a game (which had glaring flaws so bad in spots it practically defined what NOT to do for the entire RPG genre,) they'd have at least fixed them (as in Square's classic FFIV; which they remade the RIGHT way with the Chronicals re-release).

You'll see no such thing here. The graphics appear horribly dated in the world and town/dungeon map screens, although the isometric battles look surprisingly good, and include a fair ammount of animation. That's where everything goes downhill, however. The music is boring and repetative for the most part, the storyline isn't anything terribly new (especially since they've made three sequels with practically the same storyline; even including the two SAME main characters in every 'remake,') and the translation is shoddy at best.

That said, is this a bad game? Not entirely. It does have a few redeeming values, such as being one of the first pioneers in the video-game roleplaying genre, or being able put an entire audience of insomniacs to sleep for a good long while. It's just not a GOOD game either.

As for gameplay - the combat system is superb... except for the minor details that you tend to die quite often (ESPECIALLY during boss battles,) and since save points are quite the rarity, you are often sent all the way back to your last play session. While the skills and transormation system is really something new, the impossible boss fights, every third step random encounters and repetative music make it a chore to play through.

As for the gameplay... try to imagine going from town to town, seeing the ONE major important person in town, going into a dungeon, dying, dying again, finally beating it, returning to town to talk to aforementioned important person and having him or her tell you, "Good job. The next town is to the north." Repeat this for the entire duration of the game. Enough said.

Unless you're a die-hard fan of the BoF series or you LOVE doing the same thing over and over again, (may I suggest 'Hoshigami' for the Playstation? Yes, THAT repetative, pass on this game. 'Classic' is not synonomous to 'Great,' and this game is a picture-perfect definer of this.

Editorial Review

One of the best things about the Game Boy Color is that it'sbasically an original Nintendo Entertainment System that can fit inyour pocket. What this means for gamers is that many of the great gamesfor the classic system are being ported to the Game Boy Color, givingus a chance to re-play (or in some cases discover) the best game titlesfrom the '80s.

Nintendo's own Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is among the first ofthese conversions, and it certainly remains one of the best. Actually, calling this game a conversion really doesn't do it justice. Thisversion actually contains more levels than the original game, includingthe entire Japanese version and a slew of extras (such as a two-playermode).

The controls in this game are easy to grasp--even for novice gamers. All Mario can do is jump (and shoot fireballs with the right power- ups), but it is amazing to see how much gameplay can be squeezed fromthese simple actions when the controls work in direct harmony with aplayer's thoughts. The only element of this game that could have beenbetter is that the Game Boy Color's screen isn't quite large enough toshow the entire layout of the original game screen, so players mayoccasionally need to press up and down on the control pad to see someoffscreen action. While this can be distracting, it ultimately hasminimal impact on gameplay. If you are looking for the quintessentialside-scrolling platform game, you can't do much better than SuperMario Bros. Deluxe. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Classic side-scrolling action gameplay
  • Lots of extras
Cons:
  • Screen isn't quite big enough to show the entire layout of thegame

5-0 out of 5 stars Momma mia, what a come back!!!!!!
I was a vivid gamer back in the day, and Mario was always one of my all time favorites. I have long since moved away from the video game scene, but now and then I play the classics on the PC. And when I played this version, I was amazed at how great it had been revived to the GBA. The graphics are the same, the gameplay is the same, the sound is the same, but there is new extras and bonus stuff, a pathway to choose, multi player ect.. I have to say this is the best Mario Bros. (1) game ever! Even better then Mario All Stars (snes) version!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best
i had this game and its great i love the fact that it is exactly the same except for the fact that instead of 3 lives you start out with 5 and when you die you are asked if you would like to continue or start over. two great pros to the classic game which make it even better. also the new levels are challenging but great. i lost my copy of this game a fewyears and now i cant find it anywhere! :'(

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Mario Bros. Deluxe - A True Classic
Super Mario Deluxe was my first Gameboy game ever.It was my first video game ever.It was my best video game ever.Even after buying 16 other Gameboy Color and Advance Games, this is still one of my favorites.
I know what you are thinking: This is a Gameboy Color game!It must have horrible graphics and ridiculously simple gameplay.Well, you are wrong.Yes, it is a Gameboy Color game.Yes, I bought it 2000.But, it is a great game. The graphics are blocky (What do you expect from a Gameboy Color game?) but still pretty good, and the gameplay is anything but simple.
You play as Mario, and you have to collect gold coins, jump on enemies, and save Princess Toadstool, more commonly known as Princess Peach. Once you complete every level in Regular Mode, you have to go through the same levels again as Star Levels. They do have minor changes to make them harder, such as replacing Goombas with Buzzy Beetles, but they are pretty much the same as their regular counterparts. Also, as you complete each level in Regular Mode, it becomes available in Challenge Mode. When you complete a certain amount of the game, the You Vs. Boo Racing Option becomes available. (You can also race against a friend via a link cable.)After you complete more of the game, the Super Mario Bros. 2 Option becomes available. But, that is still not all.You get a table of ten high scores that you can combine with a friend's table. You unlock pictures for your photo albums and other features that can be printed with a Gameboy Printer (which hardly anyone has) and you can tell your fortune and record important events on a daily calendar.Whew, that's a lot of features!
As you can see, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a very complex game.It took me two months to complete the Regular and Challenge Modes alone, and I haven't fully completed any of the other modes.Super Mario Bros. Deluxe never gets old, though. When I brought it to school in 2003, four or five kids were swarming around me asking to play it, more people than were ever asking to play a Gameboy Advance SP game all at once.I have summarized my review in the following list of pros and cons:

Pros:

It has tons of different features and modes.
It takes a very long time to fully complete.
Even after you beat the game, it never gets old.

Cons:

It has blocky graphics.
Many of the features require a Gameboy Printer, which not many people have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow

This game is the account to the SNES version, its graphics are way better than the original, it even holds alot of secrets, EX. Get enough points and you can play "The Lost Levels, boo race" and more! not to mention this game is such a great gift for the little ones, it is so easy, my little brother (Whose is 6) has almost completed the game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!
I have this game and I Love It. It is a challenging game and teaches good stradgy.I rate this Game 5 stars. Buy This game you will love it (or whoever you are getting it for will). ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Could've Been Better, But Not Bad
Although the graphics are an improvement over the Gameboy Color Buffy game, I wasn't overly impressed by the gameplay in this new Buffy game for Gameboy Advance.Between levels, there is dialogue between the characters which are now real stills from the show, though just the same ones used over and over again. It's still an improvement over the drawn characters in the GBC Buffy game, but I was disappointed at the lack of characters. As with the last GBC Buffy game, there was no Spike (James Marsters), who happens to be my favorite character. In the stills, the only characters were Buffy, Giles, Xander, Willow, and Anya.Riley is in the game but only has a helpful character during boss battles. The bosses do include the Gentlemen and Adam from the show, as well as the new Darkhul King (who proved to be incredibly easy for being the ultimate bad guy in my opinion).

One of the things that really threw me off about this game was the controls. They were quite awkward, and made for a somewhat frustrating gaming experience. For instance, to jump you have to use R1, which hard to use on a regular basis. Not to mention that there were alot of difficult jumps to perform in the game. This was very frustrating at times. The game was relatively short, with only 16 levels that are pretty short. The puzzles were ok, though seemed somewhat out of place at times. The music was repetitive and annoying, and not anywhere near as neat as the music on the show.I think if the makers would have spent just a little more time on this game, it could've been alot of more fun for fans.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average
Average game. Nothing speacial. Very fun for fans; not so much for not fans. Now all we need is an Angel game(i sure hope so)

4-0 out of 5 stars Buffy returns!
Buffy is a great game! It has great weaponry, it has fantastic graphics, and the game uses real characters from the show! The only reason I cut a star is that it is very short, but when you play a game like this, you will want to play it over and over. My suggestion is if you are looking for fun, Buffy comes first!

2-0 out of 5 stars Worth a look for action or Buffy fans
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Wrath of the Darkhul King is essentially another licensed side scrolling beat 'em up that occasionally has something to do with the series it's based on through still cut scenes from the series and weapons that fans of the series will be familiar with.Taking place within the fourth season of the show, Buffy encounters hordes of vampires and demons, as well as the voice stealing Gentlemen and the cybernetic giant Adam among other baddies. The ability to combine weapons adds some variety to the game, but there are plenty of cons here.Jumping moves are very annoying to get ahold of, the puzzles are tedious, and if you can get through all that, you'll find that the game is actually a breeze to get through. The graphics are colorful, but nothing that pushes the GBA to it's limits. It's too bad that THQ didn't put more thought into designing this game, I for one would have enjoyed it if you could play as other characters than just Buffy; adding Xander, Willow, Riley, or even Giles would have been fun given each has different abilities, but oh well. All in all, this game is worth a look for fans of the series that own a GBA, but all others should leave this on the shelf.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of hours of fun here
Briefly put, Buffy explores various environs in sixteen levels of the game, fighting vamps and building up to a big standoff with some Darkhull king guy. In the process she picks up various weapons--the most common, of course, the good old wooden stake--some of which are more effective than others at fighting the bad guys.

I am not a big-time game player, so maybe I have lower standards than some of the people who panned this Buffy game, but my daughter and I have both gotten *many* of hours of enjoyment out of this one. It's fun roaming around the various levels, which were difficult enough to engage us for quite some time. (We've finished both the easy and normal levels, but I have yet to defeat the game on the hard level.) And I appreciate, as with other GameBoy games that we've played, that it takes some ingenuity to figure out what needs to be done.In other words I think that, counter-intuitively perhaps, GameBoy games can be educational for kids because they require thought.

There were a few annoying things about the game: being returned to the start of a level when you diebecomes maddening, as does the (thankfully brief) introductory stage when the action of the gamepauses to provide information to the user about button functions. It would be nice if that feature could be turned off. Otherwise, Irecommend it.

Amazon.com Review

Although the game will seem very familiar to Sonic fans, SonicAdvance is an entirely new creation that's been built from the ground up.The gameplay, graphics, and sound borrow from the classic Sonic games on theGenesis and are successfully translated to the Game Boy Advance. The game'ssingle-player modes are relatively short 2-D platform rounds--each run takes twoto three hours--but replay value is added through the game's various characters.Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy each have different abilities that make gettingthrough the game a unique experience.

The real star here is the game's link capabilities. The Chao Garden allows youto raise your little critters and upload them to the GameCube via the link cable andSonic Adventure 2:Battle. Having one cartridge lets up to four GBA players compete in oneminigame. Gamers can play two additional minigames if each player owns acartridge. Although the single-player game is quite good, the link options givethe title tremendous value.

The only notable problem stems from the series itself: There are still entirelytoo many cheap deaths resulting from the title's high-speed gameplay. You'llfind yourself zipping along a level only to be hit by an obstacle you had littlechance of seeing, let alone avoiding. Ultimately, the only way to get past thesehazards is to memorize where they are. This minor flaw doesn't detract from thegame's excellent value, though. Sonic Advance offers a very goodsingle-player game and some of the best link options of any GBA title.--Raymond M. Padilla

Pros:

  • Classic Sonic gameplay
  • Outstanding link options
  • Four characters add to replay value
Cons:
  • Classic Sonic cheap deaths
  • Single-player runs are short

1-0 out of 5 stars What's the big deal?
What's the big deal with this game? It's not fun at all. It's way too fast. I mean, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was fast, but not like this. In this game, you can't even see where you're going. And there's no explanation for anything. I was expecting a cool action/platformer with a few story segments. Instead, I was dropped straight into the first level with no explanation, and there was no break-up between levels, boss battles, and worlds. I was just so confused. It moved so fast that my eyes hurt, and I didn't understand it. It was a big fat waste of money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sonic Advance rocks!!!
Sonic advance is a great Game. If you Like action Games or The Classic NES series Gameboy Advance Games, you should get this Game. I've played Sonic Advance 3, but the original Game is alot better. 4-0 out of 5 stars Sonic on a Nintendo system? Is the world ending?
At the dawn of the twenty-first century, Sega shocked their long time fans. The company aborted production of its (relatively-new) Dreamcast console, and decided to become a third party exclusively. This meant the unthinkable would be happening - Yes, the Sonic The Hedgehog series was going to be on Nintendo systems! And a traditional-style Sonic game got released on the Game Boy Advance not long after. Read on for my review of Sonic Advance.

PROS:
-THE GAME PLAYS EXACTLY LIKE ITS SEGA GENESIS COUNTERPARTS. If you played the old Sonic games on the Genesis, you're going to feel right at home with this game.
-IT'S A TOTALLY NEW GAME. This game isn't just a port of one of the old Genesis games, but rather a new game of the old stylings. This series was long overdue for a revival!
-YOU HAVE A CHOICE OF FOUR CHARACTERS. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy are all selectable. Having multiple characters gives the replay value a huge boost.
-EACH CHARACTER HAS HIS OR HER OWN STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. Sonic has his classic dash move, Tails can perform a "helicopter" styled descent with his tails, Knuckles has his classic "glide and grab walls" move, and Amy can whack the bad guys with her mallet.

CONS:
-THE ONLY THING REALLY WRONG WITH THE GAME IS THAT IT DOESN'T REALLY BRING ANYTHING NEW TO THE SERIES. To put it simply, if you didn't like any of the older Sonic games, there's not going to be anything new here that will win you over.

OVERALL:

Old-school Sega Genesis gamers are going to feel right at home with this game, and should purchase it without hesitation. The Sonic series (the side-scrolling games in it, anyway) were long overdue for a revival - and here Nintendo gives them one. ... Read more

nancy drew... is genius! but having the computer games was good enough. now its for gameboy and it just wasn't as exciting as a lot of the computer nancy drew games. overall i'd say, from a 13 year old, this game, buy it for your computer.

My daughter who is 11yrs old never gets a chance to play on the Playstation, due to her older brother always hogging it up.So I looked into getting something for her and Nancy Drew has opened up a whole new world for her and me. It started out being her adventure and turned out to be mine as well. She loves the games and the challenges it gave her.We have done all of the Nancy Drew Series, including the new one Island of Deception.I can't wait for the next one.We highly recommend getting the whole series for any little girl looking for serious challenges.Be sure to have your pen & paper ready for clues!

5-0 out of 5 stars All PC Nancy Drew Titles
My 11yr. old and I play for hours on these Nancy Drew mystery games. They can require you to put on your thinking cap but they have sites that give helpful hints if needed. My son enjoys these games and even gets his sister (7) involved. I highly encourage any child to play and master these games. You can save at any point in the game so you can leave and come back whenever you like. They also have a very historical educational quality to them.

3-0 out of 5 stars it was good but not as good as the computer games
the games was good, but very hard to play.you had to finish a chapter before you could save and if you did anything in the chapter that was ahead of its time and quit, when you typed in the password it wouldn't be done, so you would have to do it all over again.overall it was a good game but i would reccomend playing it on the computer instead!!!!!!!!!!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Nice Game
Okay, when I started playing Lilo and Stitch and saw that you had to kill the aliens with your gun, I thought: 'Peh. Another leap-and-dodge-em game.' But eventually I got interested in it and nearly passed the first level. (Geez, I haven't even passed level 1 yet!) I had to go online to get passwords for some of the other levels cuz I was getting sick of playing level 1 over...and over...and over...
Unfortunately, the game's storyline is nothing like the movie unlike the PC game. In GBA Lilo and Stitch you have to stop Dr. Pestus and these mousquito guys. Gameplay is slightly difficult. Reccommended for ages 9+.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely cool shooter
First off, let me begin by saying that "Lilo and Stitch" was not strictly a childrens movie. In fact, some of the family issues in the movie were quite heavy. So its nice to finally see a Disney game that isn't geared towards small children and caters to the adult fanbase. The Gameboy Advance game is reminiscent of Metal Slug. Its a heavy duty shooter that will really keep you on your toes. Theres alot going on in this game and make no mistake, this game is TOUGH! But the challenge it presents is a good thing. This is a game where the graphics, animation and gameplay are so well thought out your money will be well spent. Lots and lots of shooting action here. Definitely one of the better Gameboy Advance games and well worth a look.

1-0 out of 5 stars SHAME!!!!
This is a child's movie! There should NOT be KILLING!!There are plenty of *OLDER* kid killing games on the market without Disney selling out!

5-0 out of 5 stars ANYTHING with Stitch is great!
Come ON people, anyone giving this game a bad review is insane, that or they are just assuming a game boy game is going to be as good as a PS2 game or an X-Box game. For Game Boy this game was great, and if you look up the codes and get far in the game, its twice as fun!

2-0 out of 5 stars i'll see u in heck,lilo and stitch....by Dr. Doppler

5-0 out of 5 stars So Fun!!!
This is my favorite video game! You get to mix your own cds, change the girls outfits, have them dance and so much more! Don't do level hard-extreme because it's impossible to do.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!
Girls Night Out is a really fun game! You get to chose Mary -Kate or Ashley for your dancer, and your set of difficulty. You have a closet where you can chose the clothes you want the player to wear, [shoes, pants, shorts, shirts, and even hats,] and you can even change the color of the clothes, from red to black! You unlock clothes, songs, [the songs last about one to two minutes and don't have words] dance moves, and sounds! The game also has this thing called Jam, where you can kinda make your own song with the songs ans sounds that you unlocked!
To be honest, this game is really fun! And really, after you buy it, you will be glad you bought it.

4-0 out of 5 stars I loved this game
This game is all about girls of course. I am a huge FAN OF DANCING. And Britney Spears i have her dancing game to i don't like itas much as i love GIRLS NIGHT OUT. So go out and buy this game u will be glAD you did

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!!

You can dress them up, with close you unlocked, make music videos, create a remix to songs, can practice your moves and try them on the dance floor!!When your done with all the levels, you'll see your charecter danceing to a song called London Triump. They makke this game so it's not for babies but not so hard!! Trust me. This game is COOL!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Oh dear

5-0 out of 5 stars Best wario land game ever!
I have WL1,3 an 4 but i beat all of them. I played this a long time ago (first WL game i played) at friends house an i wanted a copy but gamestore didnt have copy of game at the time but they had wario land 3 so i got it (wario land 4 and the GBA didnt come out yet) then when gba an WL4 came out i got that but my friend didnt manage to get a GBA but got WL2 (luckily) an i played an beat it an thats how i beat all WL games. I played super mario land but not the 2nd one but i didnt really like it (its just me thats all). an a few days ago i got this game at gamestore! u should get it too cuz it leaves off after marioland 2 (i know the plot from end of SML2-WL4) ill explain thestory

END of SML2- Mario defeated wario an got his castle back and warios attempt to take over marioland failed...WL3:SML3- Wario realy wanted a castle but didnt know how to get one until he remembered a rumor about a gang of thieves (forgot name) stole a giant peach/toadstool statue that mario ( yes Mario) was foreverlookin for an Wario thot if he found it first, he could sell it for $$$ to the royal family so he headed off for his gold...and castle of coarse...this is where U come in to help wario on his journey....

You can get this game at some Gamestop stores, here from a seller, ebay, etc. its not that hard to find really an 15-20$ is a good deal for this game. WL4 is the easiest to get, then WL3, then WL1 (in my area) but WL2 is quite difficult to find...have fun with this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars this rocks
i have been playing it all the time lately and now i find itt really easy but whats good about it is you can save it unlike most game boy games i love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
This game is simply a great game! It is very long too, I think there is something like 40 levels (although some of them are literally only 2-4 screens long, but really, theres only a couple of those).
First of all, there are many many things to discover; like for instance, if you have the hat that has the spikes on top and you jump and hit your head on the "ceiling" and press up on the + pad, youl'l hang there by you head!
There are also creative enimies, like there is one that is a dog that throws knives at you, and when the knife hits a wall, it will stick in it!
Anyway, this is just a really great game that will entertain you for probably weeks. So all in all, I really recomend this game.

Sincerely: Glowis

5-0 out of 5 stars Rise of ANOTHER Nintendo franchise!
I'm not sure how old this game is, but I know I've had it for quite awhile. For those fans of the franchise that have never played the original, I think you should be warned that this plays much like Mario than later Wario games. While this isn't a bad thing (Hardly!), it may disappoint some. You can see the beginings of the style and gameplay of Wario though, including moves and overall look of the game. A good pick if your a fan of Wario, Mario, or (just as likely) both!

4-0 out of 5 stars Better game than The original Super Mario Land
Yeah, I started playing this game, then, I got hooked to it.Even if it is about 8 years old, still good.I have the Super Mario Land game too.12 levels for original, for Warioland, about 39 levels.Plus, you can collect treasure to raise your money. At the end, you can change your money into a castle, or better. But I don't want to tell you if you collect 99999 coins. There are more bad guys and you can be a dragon, jet, bull, original, or baby wario.Hey!!! What is Mario doing here? What is he going to do at the ending?Play this game is so fun, try it!!! ... Read more
