4-0 out of 5 stars It will make you crazy
This is a great game, I like the fact that you can save your game but don't be fooled by the small screen it is every bit as hard as the larger version.I have been stuck on level 15 of the Stragety level for weeks now.

5-0 out of 5 stars You Must Buy This GAME
Absolutely love it!!!Not only the classic game play but three other game modes.Relapse pretty darn hard, Strategy great game play, and puzzle now this is lots of fun.Great game for killing time at appointments, at the airport, or just not wanting to mow the lawn.Five Stars!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Action puzzle gaming in your pocket
I love games that have a simple premise and few rules - games you can just pick up and play. That perfectly describes this game.A new line of blocks is added to the stack every second or two (more quickly as the game gets harder).Select a block that has 2 or more identical adjacent blocks and they disappear and you get points. The more blocks that disappear at one time, the more points you get. When the blocks get to the top, you lose.

The game gets difficult quickly as new rows of blocks start to be added quickly by level 5 or 6.By level 10 you have to get 100 new lines to clear the level and they are coming even more quickly. At least when you lose you are able to restart the game on that level.Help is provided by black bombs which destroy all the surrounding blocks, and colored bombs which will destroy every identically colored block on the stack. There is some strategy to when you want to select blocks to remove them, sometimes it might be best to wait for more blocks to be added, and you have to pay attention to what is above that might fall on what's below.

Super Collapse has been available on the web for quite a while to play on a PC or Mac.If you have played that original, the GameBoy version is a bit more difficult when you have to pick blocks by moving the cursor around a block at a time instead of clicking with the mouse on the block you want to pick.Pointing the mouse is much easier to get to the block you want to choose.

The one mark against this game is that it doesn't save or keep high scores. There is a password that are given after 5 levels (and maybe every 5 after that - don't know - haven't gotten that far) but passwords are lame - Majesco, spring a few cents for saving next time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this game
This is a great game for Adults. I can't wait for more puzzle games to come out. I just received this and Bookworm and both are great games for my Gameboy advance.

5-0 out of 5 stars As good as the PC version
My wife and I have been playing the PC version for about a year now (well, mostly my wife) and I have to say that it works excellently on the GBA. I even find it a lot more fun for some reason. One way that it is better: you can get a code that automatically starts you at a higher level. Most of the puzzles in Puzzle Mode are different than the PC version, too, which is good because I'd solved all the PC ones.

Our kids (age 7 and 5) like it, too, but I think I've played it the most, while my wife sticks with the PC version. It's too bad we only have two GBAs because now the three "kids" (including me) are fighting over them in the car. I might have to buy a second copy and a 3rd GameBoy for family harmony. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars You Won't Finad a Better Racing Game...
I have gotten NFS Underground almost a year ago, and it is still awesome. The main idea of the game is to simply, well... Race! You can choose from four race options: circuit, drag, drift, and sprint. Each have different rules, such as who can reach the highest miximum speed, who can bang against the border least often, and so on. Circuit is the simple race. No special rules.

Pros.
1. Lots of different cars to choose from
2. Hundreds of different ways you can customize your car. Every time you win a race, you gain money. You lose money if you lose a race. The better the part you want to install is, the more expensive it is. Different motors, bumpers, stickers, and yes, you can change the color of the car. I heard many people say you cannot. They are wrong.
3. The music is awesome. And the songs are not just something to keep you entertained while you play. Those songs are for real. Believe it or not, but I sametimes turn off the SFX and put the music on maximum and play with nothing but the music
4. The races are not that easy. It takes a long time to finally beat a challenge. This will keep you entertained for a long, long time
5. The controls are really easy to learn

Cons.
1. The graphics, I'm sad to say, are not the best. These are probably the main reason I brought the rating down from a five to a four.
2. All the good parts, as well as other car colors other than silver, are locked until you get farther in the game
3. Sometimes being challanged by others can get really annoying. That is, whenever you click on the option to race, you get to pick the player you want to race against. Once in a while you get challanged, and you cannot do anything but go ahead and race. You can't refuse!

Overall, a great game. GET IT!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
Street racing is very different from and, in many ways, more exciting than traditional automobile racing. Competitions take place out on the regular streets and freeways of the city, as opposed to the relatively safe confines of a closed professional course. Instead of cups and medals, prize winnings are paid out in cash, which many participants use to trick out their cars with fancy paint jobs and slick body kits--even when performance upgrades, such as turbo kits and exhaust systems, make the most sense. In street racing, your car's appearance is just as important as winning the race. Need for Speed Underground brings this fast and furious world of street racing on to the Game Boy Advance with mostly positive results. Apart from the graphics, everything from the console versions of the game has made it on to the GBA cartridge. Watch out for the cross traffic at intersections. Need for Speed Underground has all of the necessary options and modes that a handheld racing game ought to have. Competitions include circuit (multiple laps), sprint (half laps), drag, and drift events. Each event has roughly 10 different tracks devoted to it, and you have the option of bringing a friend in for two-player matches using the link cable. While it's nice to be able to race against another live human being and show off your rides to each another, the heart of the game is its single-player underground mode. In the underground mode, you join up with a clique of street racers and participate night after night in various events with the sole purpose of rising up the ranks and funneling cash into your vehicle. The number of available cars, parts, and upgrades is phenomenal. While there are only 20 different basic car bodies to choose from, you can create thousands of unique-looking vehicles with the many hundreds of body parts and paint schemes at your disposal. There aren't many GBA games out there that let you swap out the bumpers, hood, tires, side skirt, and tinting on your car, in addition to the usual set of engine, turbo, brake, and suspension upgrades. Popular manufacturers, such as Ford, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, and Volkswagen, are represented, as are more than two-dozen parts vendors, including Dazz Motorsport, Enkei, MOMO, and Neuspeed.
When you get out to the street, NFS: Underground sheds its simulator-style trappings and turns into the sort of easygoing driving game that anyone from beginners to experts can jump right into. The A and B buttons control acceleration and braking, and if you select a manual transmission, the L and R buttons allow you to downshift and upshift. A few races into the underground mode, you can purchase a nitro boost upgrade, which you can activate by tapping up on the directional pad. Each course has a good variety of straights, soft curves, sharp turns, and dips. The physics engine has a realistic degree of skid, which is great if you're the kind of player who likes to slide around corners, but it doesn't overdo it to the point that you'll have to worry about spinouts or rollovers. Likewise, you're not really penalized all that much for smacking into walls or colliding with cross traffic. If you smash into a bus at 100mph, you'll lose speed and skid for a bit, but it doesn't take long to regain control and get back in to the race. Each car comes with its own set of speed, acceleration, and handling characteristics, which you'll feel during the race as steering response and skid tendency. Surprisingly, the game's 3D graphics are both its best feature and its worst problem. The developers really pushed the GBA to the limit using this sort of texture-mapped polygon engine. It's wonderful that you can actually make out details, like window frames, fences, and highway signs, along the road, but the resolutions are so blocky that it's sometimes difficult to figure out which way the pavement is going to turn. It helps to play through the courses and learn where the turns are, although that's the kind of thing that you want to do to learn the layout of a course, not just so you'll remember to take a hard right after the brown splotch up ahead. Thankfully, this pixelation issue doesn't have a bearing on how any of the vehicles look. While you may not be able to distinguish a guardrail from an on-ramp, at times, every car looks shiny and crisp when viewed from all distances and at various angles. This means you'll have plenty of opportunities during the race to admire the custom window tinting and vinyl decorations you applied to your car the night before. Trick out your car with performance parts, body parts, paint jobs, and vinyl decorations. Despite its problematic graphics, Need for Speed Underground is still a joy to play. The courses have a good mixture of powerslide and speed run sections, and CPU drivers tend to keep the races close without resorting to typical cheats, like passing through commuter vehicles or teleporting in right behind you. If you're a wannabe car buff, it's easy to spend hours just upgrading and tinkering with your car in order to develop a custom ride that suits your personality. The last thing that bears mentioning--and this is only a significant note for some of you--is the fact that the music EA chose to put in the game won't appeal to everyone. During the menus and during each race, you'll hear a random pick from any of four different song loops, including "Get Low" by Lil Jon, "Sucked In" by Jerk, "Doomsday" by Overseer, and "The Only" by Static-X. Luckily, if you don't like the selection of music, you can shut it off in the options menu. In fact, the in-game engine and tire sound effects are superb and can suffice all on their own. Warts and all, Need for Speed Underground is a good racing game--not because it's pretty, but because it's actually engaging and fun to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Extremely good!!!
Hi everyone, I just bought this need for speed because i knew that almost of the "need for speed" games were good. But this one.... incredible!! All the things with did not find in others nfs are here. Just goog! built up your dream car guys! (girl too hehe)

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!
I love this game, however it is my first game with the GBA, I bought it along with ATV Racing and ESPN Golf 2002.
You can race and aquire more money to upgrade your cars and/or purchase new cars. The only downside, all your cars are silver, no paint variations that I have found, only static decals that can be applied after winning so many races.
This game is a must have for race fans! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Good For Gameboy Advance
This game is a dissapointment. Due to the gameboy's small screen and lack of buttons this game is extremely frustrating...not to mention the game's insane difficulty. Fortunately on Gamecube/PS2/XBox this game is much better.

4-0 out of 5 stars It is a GOOD GAME but IT IS NOT PERFECT!!!!!!!!
The "create your own skater" thing is cool, but, sometimes you lose your guy behind walls. My only complaint was that you could not move the camera.I recomend it with 4 STARS!! :-( :-)

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is a must. You should get it because its challenging and fun at the same time!

4-0 out of 5 stars smooth gameboy action
Sure, Tony Hawk 4 plays better on the PS2.But for a portable system, this is probably as good as it gets.Sometimes, due to the 2d/3d viewpoint, it is tough to pinpoint a landing or how to get onto an obstacle. That is really my only gripe, b/c you can 100% throw down with Hawk 4 due to the trick engine. The levels are pretty big and each of 'em have lots of stuff to skate.Get this game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best GBA Games
ZOE: The Fist of Mars is easily one of the best Game Boy games ever made. The story is intriguing as are the characters. The graphics are very good during Battle Sequences and cut scenes. For any fan of anime series with giant robots, some romantic elements and plot twists, this is one game you have to buy. Even if you're not a big fan of anime, this game is still worth your money. Outside of the battle sequences, primarily in the map, the graphics aren't very good. The landscapes are not well made. Most of the scenarios are also simple, destroy all enemies maps. There is also a hands-on element called the IAS which allows you to go inside the cockpit of your vehicle to either dodge or hit an enemy vehicle. While this can become tedious and prolongs the fight, you can turn this off along with battle animations, which brings me to the next point in this game. The battle sequences are amazing and are some of the best elements in this game. The scene shows a highly detailed animation of your vehicle performing its attack. The game runs HEAVILY on story and plot, and players who don't like to read and want to get right down onto the battlefield should NOT buy this game. To enjoy it the most, you must have PATIENCE and read through all the scenes.

4-0 out of 5 stars I think this is a very enjoyable game
addmittedly, once you can aim well it is a little easy but it is still really, really fun.get it if you don't have anything else to get. : )

4-0 out of 5 stars For Anime/Mech fans.
This game is classified as strategy, yet the game takes no strategy to win. The game is VERY easy even for people who have never played strategy games before. The enemies are very easy to beat and the missions usually consist of "Eliminate the Enemy" objectives. In addition, the IAS system (which is basically a targeting minigame) basically lets you choose whether or not you want to be hit or hit the enemy. If you use the IAS all the way through the game you can beat the game without ever getting hit once. The only problem is that the IAS becomes tedious and annoying, so you'll turn it off midway, and the game will still be a piece of cake.

So why did this game win a place in my hcollection? Because it's absolutley beautiful. The battle animations are wonderful and very pleasing to the eye. The mech designs are very cool, and you grow to care for each one, like a collector's item. The battlefields are well detailed as well. The CG pics are far and few inbetween, but put the cherry on the sundae. And to top it with sprinkles, Konami added an amazing musical score to the game, making you feel each part of the game through the music. When a hyper-insane mad-scientist is burning down a city, the music depicts the atrocity and horror through the music, making you all the more eager to stop him.

But the main draw is the story. The game is played through a mission-by-mission basis, but seems more like episodes to an amine series. The game starts out with lots of mysteries and finishes off with 2 different endings, making the game even more replayable. The dialouge inbetween missions help you relate to and get to know the characters and you actually care for what happens to them next. Not many plot-twists, but the story remains constantand well contructed till the end. Very little cheesiness here. My favorite part of the dialouge are the character portraits that come up when a each charater is talking. Each character has 3-8 pics for different emotions, and they are beautifully drawn. The story itself is very well translated and flows smoothly.

So click "Add to cart", and get yourself some headfones too, because this is a theatrical experience for any anime fan, but too easy for a strategy buff.

4-0 out of 5 stars Depends on the player
After reading all the reviews, and playing the game five or six times, I have come to a conclusion.

You must enjoy anime and /or manga as well as plot to enjoy this game.

I read about ZOE in a magazine, and it stood out. I decided to pick it up a few weeks later, and I played through the entire game in a matter of weeks.
This videogame has extroadinarily long cut scenes, followed by midlength battle sequences. If you like story, great, if you like alot of shooting, not so great.

Don't pay attention to the E status on there, this has quite a few swears, and some adult situations, though you must understand that all of it is written.

I must urge those who say this game has no replay value to try it again. I have played three times so far, and I have gotten two different endings, though I am sure there are more.

If you want a videogame from Nintendo that encompasses all the aspects of life that people like to glaze over, death,..., and sorrow, then get it. I did, and found one of the only games by Nintendo of it's kind.

As I said, it's all about what you want. It all depends on you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest game for the GBA ever

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun Game... Good Times
Wow! What a wonderful journey you take on this game. If you liked the movie, you will ove the game. It is full of tricks secrets and wonders. Everytime you play it, you discover something new, therfore, it doesn't get old after you beat it. The best satge is when you discover Carpet and you go on a wild ride in the collapsing Cave of Wonders. i would recommend this game for anyone who likes adventure. It takes some skill but it can be played by everyone, young, old, boy or girl. This is a great buy, full of enchantment... :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Review the GAME, NOT release dates / frustration!
C'mon people- this is a very fun game.Don't give it bad reviews because you're upset it wasn't for sale when you wanted.I just picked up this game tonight and it's as fun as the original SNES version! It looks exactly the same, and I don't see any differences. It plays very well on the GBA and I'm having a blast re-living it!I always loved playing Aladdin, the backgrounds are fun, the controls are easy, and it's enjoyable!

It's actually $24.99 at Toys R Us, so don't pay more than that.

You'll have many fun hours with this game....enjoy!

2-0 out of 5 stars Another Classic takes a beating!
I recently imported this game and WAS planning on buying the English version, if and when it comes out.A word of WARNING:The Japanese and EURO versions have taken out the music 'A whole NEW WORLD' and 'A FRIEND LIKE ME' and Replaced it with new tunes. This may, or may not be the reason it's taking so long to come out.THere are some new stages that are short, but fun.Still once again the video game makers of today have somewhat ruined a classic from the SNES days. It's still better then the horrible Sega version though.

3-0 out of 5 stars Discounted Games Website
Go to this website for cheaper video games !!!www.gbastore.com.For the new Aladdin game, not yet release here in the U.S.,that advertised for around $29, on that other website it is only $19.99 !!!! For the Tom & Jerry game that is advertised here for $29.99, on that site it is ONLY $8.99. They have BOTH the English version and Japanese version, so make sure you select English !

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait!
a dream come true for all die hard aladdin fans as well as all platformer fans. i hear this will be a juiced up version of the snes version. i am disappointed that it is taking so long for the release, but i would rather have the company get the game right as opposed to rushing out a mediocre product. i hope there will be more aladdin games, especially one for the PS2. enjoy! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game on the go!!!!!!!!!
This is a very close port of the original SFA3 arcade game. The game really shows off the power of the GBA pretty well. The fighters move smoothly and all the little subtle animations are there too. Overall I was blown away at how good this looked on the GBA. The controls are a little hard to pull off but you do get used to it, I just forget about doing certain moves that are too hard and stick to the easy ones. Overall I would recomend this game if your a HARDCORE fighting game fan and need your fighting fix on the go!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good translation ruined by controls
I'll keep this brief: If you want Street Fighter on the GBA, buySuper Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival. That game handles the fact that the GBA only has 4 buttons by letting you assign punches and kicks to brief-vs-long button presses. It's not ideal, but it works.Alpha 3 doesn't even give you this option, instead it forces you to assign them to combinations of the triggers and the A&B buttons.Try throwing a fireball with L+B. It just doesn't work.I partially blame Nintendo for refusing to give a portable more than 2 face buttons, but I mainly blame Capcom for not giving you the brief-vs-long button assignment options.

4-0 out of 5 stars near perfect
the games translates very well from console to handheld. all moves come over intact and graphics aren't too noticably scaled down. the only think i've noticed is that it is hared at times to do a combo correctly when the directional pad is smaller. that isn't a problem with the game though, just the gameboy. you may find it easier to use an older gameboy instead of an sp though.

3-0 out of 5 stars Street Fighter In The Palm Of Your Hands
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is one of the best in the series but this port lacks its full potential because of its difficult controls. If only the game boy advance had 6 buttons instead of 4 this would be true to the arcade. It may take awhile before I can get use to these controls but so far its a great game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome game!!!!
I?ve been a SF fan for a long time. After purchasing my GBA earlier this year, I discovered that SF alpha for GB color does not play too well on the GBA.Well in response to the GBA?s screen glitch I purchased this version of the popular Capcom title, and I chose a winner! This game has more pack and punch than any SF game I have ever played! It just simply rocks! Some recommendations as to the choice of fighters that are poweful are:Choose Fei-Long, he?s a Bruce Lee imitator and almost fights like him. He?s my favorite character in this version, and typically pounds most of his opponents!Guy was extremely powerful in the GB color version, but in this version he cannot drop throw as easily like he could before.Purchase this game and have fun! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great classic!

I just bought this for the GBA, and for some reason, I prefer this over the chopped up version on my SNES. Granted, it is old, but who cares? This game is still addicting. The only flaw is the lack of music, but I can live without that. Overall, though, I highly recommend it.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's true,Wolfenstein 3D is even out-dated on the GameBoy.
The worst FPS available for the GBA is Wolfenstein 3D.It's not the worst by much, Medal of Honor; Underground is pretty darn close.Wolfenstein 3D was the fifth FPS for the GBA but the first FPS ever to be released for any system.Bringing this title back from the dead probably wasn't such a good idea with games like Ecks Vs. Sever competeing with it.Doom and Duke Nukem were old games coming back to life on the GBA but those turned out so darn good. Those games featured beautiful graphics.Wolfenstein 3D's are just plain outdated and ugly, however not as ugly as Medal of Honor: Underground's.The game features the original 60 levels and 4 weapons.Only 4?Yes, I know, there were only 4 in the original but that is to little. This game is even outdated on the Game Boy.The game is still fun but there are a lot of better choices in the FPS genre for GBA.Trust me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great combat game
I have found the game to be quite challenging and involved. It appears to have a random action generator as I find the number and types of opponents varies, along with the damage you incur during the game, so if you don't succeed, try again as many times as it takes, eventually you get the hang of it. I think a game guide would be a very useful accessory for this game but I have been unable to locate one, at least so far. A game guide would be particularly good for the higher level on the last couple of missions. Frequent saves are a must with this game. Overall a great game that will keep you involved for hours. Probably not one you want to give the younger members of the family.

3-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't stack up against Doom II or Duke Nukem
This is a 3D shooter classic, which many old Wolfenstein 3D fans may cherish. However, after playing Duke Nukem Advance and Doom II Advance, this game doesn't quite stack up. It is not a bad product at all, but it's just not as fun. The best games for GBA that I've found so far are the Mario Bros series, the Metroid series, Doom (I and II), Duke Nukem, Super Street Fighter II, Max Payne, and Tekken Advance. I don't want to buy every game for the GBA, and I suggest you don't either. I carefully read reviews and attempt to purchase only the best. Wolfenstein 3D is a good game, but not like the others mentioned; in my opinion it is not a must-have.

3-0 out of 5 stars SEIG HELL!
The 1st(and one of the best)first-person shooters on GBA It is good, but not terrific. For those of you who think that graphics make the game, you will be very disapponted in Wolfenstein 3d.Flat bitmap characters and dated sound effects give this game a ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Incomprehensible on Advance
This game, even in this trimmed down version, is still to perplexing for a gameboy. I played this game for about five minutes and then gave it away; it was like flying a helicopter for real! Some games are just too complicated for a Gameboy;

fighting games, pinball games and side scrollers - yes
complex RPGs, strategy/action games, multiple windowed games - no

4-0 out of 5 stars good game
this game has a real good story first of all. there is a madman somewhere in the middle east that is trying to take over the world. You fly a appache helicopter and complete campanges each with several missions. the game has a large variety of enemy vehicles and aircraft each with its own armor level, fire power, and reload speed. One great part of this game is that the missions arent repeatitive and every campagne has something new to do that takes different stragety. It has good graphics and weopons and vehicles are pretty acruate to the real thing. im not to sure how many campainges are in the game because i havent finished it but trust me- itll be a lot of fun game play before you beet the game. It is one of the realistic and challenging fun game ive played.

3-0 out of 5 stars Huge difficulty, solid mission and combat, same game as SNES
For those of you who have played the classic "Strike" series, this is the exact same game that was released in the early 90s. Nothing at all has changed, same controls, same passwords and so on. For those of you who have not played Desert Strike, you are an Apache helicopter pilot, on 30 missions into 5 levels of Desert Storm! This is a pretty nice game, with an overhead view of the helicopter and land, making it not for everyone, especially anyone under 13. Another reason this game is not for everyone is because of its intense difficulty. Limited missiles, fuel, armor, lives and so on make each stage difficult. Each stage has several missions that you must follow. The missions are anywhere from destroying enemy radars / airports (with guns, hydras and missiles) to capturing commanders and saving hostages all from your apache helicopter. There is pretty good gameplay, however just one helicopter, if you get destroyed, that is it, so you collect hostages and drop them off to replenish your copter's armor. One final thing is this game is not worth [full retail], wait until a price drop. ... Read more

Here is just a little tid-bit for you.
Django was really a old european movie. It was about a vampire slayer that normally would carry a coffin behind him. But the movie was so horribly gorey, i was banned in many parts of europe. I saw it it was kewl

3-0 out of 5 stars umm, good idea but is it neccesary?
i bought this game used and i've turned it on maybe twice... i get to the first level. i didn't know much about this game. i took a chance on it thinking it might be a fun RPG adventure... i had no idea that i needed sun to play. well, i live in portland and theres not much sun this time of year... i guess if i want to play i'll have to wait a few months... but i'll probably give up before then... there are so many other games out there... why didn't they just make it LIGHT sensitive. If i'm outside i usually have better things to do than stare at a screen.

the graphics that i saw looked pretty and the sound seemed okay but like i said... i didn't get far... maybe my cartridge is broken? who knows...

5-0 out of 5 stars Boktai:The Sun is in Your Hand
Out of the game for the gameboy advance game I have, this is the best. It is very fun. I have almost beat the game also. I hope I will get Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django. These Boktai games are very fun. I have gotta say this...This game is one of the cheapest, funnest, greatest games of all time. If you are a fan of Boktai, this game is for you! Also, since this is for all Boktai fans, Django the Solar boy and Otenko are in Megaman Battle network 4.
look for them on your journey..believe me, they're in there. When you are on a "date" with Mayl, you'll go through a place during it..inside you'll see Django and all that stuff. Also, when you in Undernet 4, you'll find Django in there. Well, goodbye, and here is one last thing: May the Sun be with you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Solar Boy
I like this game alot. It's my favorite. I recommend this game for every one. Django is the coolest. I can't wait till the sequel comes out!! Boktai 2 Solar Boy Django*_*

5-0 out of 5 stars Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hands
Not a bad game. I have been playing gameboy games since I was 6 and I am now a teenager (i didn't feel like using the adult thing). This game out of all my experience is pretty unique. It has a built-in solar sensor that gets gamers off their lazy buts and gives them fresh air. The gameplay isn't the best but if you love to be outside there is finally a game for you. Also if you like this game I suggest you try MegaMan Battle Network 4 Red Sun or Blue Moon because they feature Django and Sunlight in a mini mission to get GunSol chips and you can even get the Pile Driver (if you are a megaman fan the p.driver is the best program advance!) I hope you like this game because it is a neccesity to any gamer's collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars kick asssssssssss
this game rocks; i liked the ps2 version alot and i liked this almost; as much its really addicting; it kicks ass even if youre not a lotr fan; buy this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Patience
This game is okay. If you are a fan of Lord of the Rings and/or Action-RPG games then you might like it. Otherwise skip this game. The features, such as 5 characters and 100 levels sounds cool, but the game gets monotonous and very boring if played more than 15 minutes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good, but the character selsction sucks
This is a fun game, but why Eowyn? Why not Sam, or Gimli. This game would be awsome if the character selection was more like the ps2 version.

5-0 out of 5 stars skull smashing
well I dont like that you can only swing your blade one time instead of combos. But this is a fun game to play even if you dont like LOTR you will enjoy it.You can also play as Gandalf,
Aragon,Legolas,Frodo, and Edowyn.Creatures pop up out of nowhere
and it gets you excited. You can pick up items such as super
swords or strong bows and equip them with your person.
You go up levels in the game by how many you kill and you
collect gems and use them to buy upgrade points.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good game with a decent difficulty
This is a classic. As a devout LOTR fan, I was looking at LOTR stuff when I saw 'The Return of the King for GBA!'. I bought it after carefully reading reviews for FOTR, TT, and ROTK. Seeing that FOTR was not very popular and ROTK was declared "too hard" by many, I settled for TT. I'm glad I did.

TT is a solid game that runs pretty much along the story line (no Merry or Pippin!?). It is entertaining for those long car rides and if neither too difficult nor too easy. There are five different characters to choose from that employ a variety of strategies and tactics. You can be Legolas for the sniping attack, Aragorn for the hand-to-hand melee, Eowyn or Frodo for hit-and-run, and Gandalf, who can do just about everything.

I really enjoy this game and think it was worth every penny. It will keep the gamer occupied for quite a while and isn't too frustrating when you have to start over. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Mega Man: Battle Network is not the side-scrolling game that fanshave grown up with, but rather an isometric, role-playing adventure game. Forthose cringing at this evolution, don't despair--with an amazing real-timebattle system, this game should appease even die-hard platform-shooter fans.

In the near future, the Net is connected to virtually everything--from computersto office water coolers. An evil group is bent on dominating the world bycorrupting the Net with viruses. You play as Lan, a young hacker, who must stopthis threat with the help of his virus-busting program (and best friend) MegaMan.exe.

Lan can walk up to just about any object and either use it or get someinteresting (and often funny) information about it. In fact, this kind ofexploration is necessary, because there are Net jacks in the strangestplaces--even a doghouse. And while Mega Man.exe is deployed fighting viruses on the Net,you often have to go out and collect clues in the real world. This teamwork addssome refreshing complexity to the game.

Fans of Pokémon will like the battle chip system. Finding chips andupgrading Mega Man.exe is the name of the game, enabling the program to unleashmore powerful attacks. Battle chips can be sold, traded, and combined intorarer, more powerful chips. In addition, you can link up with a friend and tradechips, or battle for them.

The game's best element, however, is its battle system. Battles occur in realtime, with fast arcade action. Mega Man.exe can lob bombs, shoot his hallmarkcannon, summon other virus-busting programs to his aid, and more--depending onwhich of the 175 battle chips you find and deploy in battle.

Mega Man: Battle Network is a solid performer, but its story is geared toa younger crowd. Still, there's plenty here to satisfy fans of the series.--Bryan Karsh

Pros:

  • Amazing real-time battle system
  • Trade chips via link cable, or fight for them against a friend's copy of thegame
  • Interactive world in which almost every object has a purpose
Cons:
  • Story line might be too childish for older players

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
Mega Man Battlew Network for the GBA is a nice game that is unlike most Mega Man games. In this Mega Man game, you fight on a grid with you on one side and the enemy on another side. On this grid, you can fire as many shots as you want and can choose a special card from a group to use. This is quite fun and most people should enjoy it. When not in battle, you can move around freely and talk to people. You can fight some of the PETs of these people. The plot is pretty basic though there is a small twist. When hooked to the net, you can get into random battles and earn money. There is also a small RPG element present. You can earn upgrades to Mega Man and improve his health, attack, etc. The only problem is that the game can become frustrating if you cannot find out where to go next.

4-0 out of 5 stars megaman rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion, megaman battle network 1 is one of the better games in the series (of course i didn't get to the end of the game but i got pretty darn far). there's many places to jack in, such as lan,s security system (shaped like a doghouse). Many tough bosses such as stoneman. any way you flip the pancake this game is awesome so might i be the first to say jack in!
Megaman,Excecute!

5-0 out of 5 stars Megaman's first rpg is......a complete success!!
The blue bomber is back in a whole new adventure on the game boy advance but this time he has broken out of his signuture side scrolling action platformer format and has taken on the card battling rpg format???? Well before you megaman fans start yelling listen and read this review to find that this is one of the blue bombers greatest adventures yet.

Gameplay 10/10
Alright the gameplay is quite strange for Megaman so listin up you switch between Lan (a human kid in the real world) and Megaman EXE (Megaman's newest form a netnavi who goes through cyber space kicking (...)) now in the real world you as Lan go through a normal life in his futuristic world where everything is run by computers but this means viruses are much more in number and can be deadly so it's up to Lan to take Megaman to the electronic device that needs viruses cleared out of it or hostile netnavis as Megaman you use battle chips (microchips that give him weapons and abilities) you can get these through a turn based system a meter fills up and when it does you pick which chip out of five that you randomly pulled (kinda like your hand in a card game) but you are not limited to pulling just one chip per turn you can also make combos by pulling more than one of the same kind of chip of by pulling two chips of the same code. A code is put on the bottom of each chip two chips that have a H code can be played in the same turn even if they aren't the same kind of chip and chips that are the same can be played together even if they are not of identical code by the way new chips (which there are 175) can be obtain from detroying viruses for example if you detroy a dash virus you may get his chip depending on what kind of busting level you get busting level is a rank system which goes from 1-10 and S and you have a better chance of getting a chip if you get a 10 rank rather than a 5 now after you have selected your chips you can fight the viruses in a 3D battle arena which is split up into 18 panels 9 blue panels and 9 red panels you stand on the blue and cannot cross on to the red and and the same applies for you foes on the red you move about dogding attacks while launching your own its strange for Megaman but it works very well aside from battling in cyberspace you will also explore and solve puzzles many of which require you to be both Lan and Megaman to solve them example in cyberspace there is alocked door but it has a passnumber it is based on how many chairs are in Lans classroom in the real world therefore you must become Lan to solve the puzzle. A way this is a rpg is that Megaman can level up but not through exp points he levels up by finding upgrade items such as HPmemories which raises your overall HP (you start with 100) and Powerups which raise your power rapid and charge up powers of your buster these upgrades can be found in various areas of cyberspace or the real world or by buying them from merchants speaking of exploring that is another great thing about this game you can explore areas of cyberspace in just about anything electronic such as vending machines, game systems, tvs, and the most expansive area the internet but you can still explore the real world and interact with the people in the various towns particapate in netbattles where Megaman fights their netnavi and trade battle chips noy to mention while exploring you can try to get all the battle chips in the game. Also old fans will reconize old bosses reborn in this game such as Bombman Iceman Elecman and Protoman.

Story 10/10
The story begins as you are put into the role of Lan a 5th grader kid who is off to school in his futuristic world that is run completly by computers because of this viruses are larger in numbers and more deadly so much so that destroying them with your netnavi example Megaman is a big course in school on the way to school Lan walks with his freind Mayl who begins to tell him of a hacking net crime organization the world 3 or WWW that is becoming more know throughout the story Lan and Megaman Battle the WWW to stop their evil plans but unlike old Megaman games you don't just pick a boss stage and go there you fight WWW as events unfold in the game.

Bottom Line 10/10
It will take you at long time to master this game trying to find all the battle chips reaching level 100 and battling WWW will keep you busy for quite awhile.

3-0 out of 5 stars A More Realistic Review
I believe for every review made by a person for another person should have an overview of the reviewers characteristic and "definition" of a good game for him/her.

I like RPG's but am good in all games. I define a good game by the right mixtures: Originality, Game Quality, Easy To Get Use to and Control, Action Type, Objective Settings, and so on. I'll make this clear and precise as possible. Please take note this is my OPINION, you might think different.

Good Things:
-The game is nice if you're bored of the same old pokemon games and their battling techniques.
-The games texture and graphics are a good improvement from other GBA games.
-The game is long and challenging.

Bad Things:
-The game can become extremely frustrating. Why? Many reasons.

1.Whenever you enter the net, you come across viruses or enemies, to make it simple. They are challenging at first, but in the later stages when you become powerful, they are just plain annoying, especially when you're trying to accomplish long, tedious missions given to you by the game. You must have an escape chip to actually escape! You can only hold 30 chips in your "moves" folder. So if you have, for example, 2, your chances of getting them and escaping battles you don't want is 2/30. You get 5 chips per turn that you skip and press ADD during your chip selection. Think about it.

2.The cost of items in this game is way too high, in my opinion. As a player in a RPG game, you would like to improve your weapons so you can defeat your enemies faster/easier right? Well, try to when it takes 10,000zens just to get one M Cannon, which does 120 damage. The common later viruses have like 200hp. The beginning bosses are about 600+. Therefore you need more than 1 powerful chip. How long would it take? Say forever?

3.Oh yeah, chip combos are made by putting same letter chips together. Example, two different chips with the letter L next to it, say Cannon Chip L and Dash Chip L. You can select it both at once and use it without the need to wait for the bar to fill up to select more chips. Its really hard to make the combos and play fast when you gotta check out the letters next to each chip to see if you can play it together. The letter range is long!

4.The missions are nice, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO GET IT! They seem to expect you to know exactly where to go. Well they don't Mr.Creator! Therefore, what you either do is get FAQS or wonder around, mindlessly and extremely frustrated, until you find where you need to go. Got Milk?

5.The only real fun is raising Megaman, upgrading him which is hell, and fighting the bosses and people with powerful P.E.Ts. Megaman is a PET. This is where it *beeped* up. Its usually rare or it takes a horribly ammount of time and work to finally encounter those few people. The rest of the game is filled with viruses that aren't challenging and you can't simply escape easily.

Here's a clue for everyone. Why buy when you can get it for free? HAHAHA.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool
As of 2002, Mega Man has been around for 15 years. Needless to say, the little guy has been quite prolific, hopping deftly from game platform to platform and bravely exploring and acquiring the skills of new genres. Aside from numerous action outings, the Blue Bomber has raced carts, played soccer, and has even entered a few fighting tournaments. After testing the waters in the Legends series, Mega Man has donned an .exe file extension and entered the Battle Network in a traditional RPG for the Game Boy Advance. Battle Network is the story of a boy and his PET. In the year 20XX, humankind has entered the "network age." To navigate this high-tech world, it has become necessary for every man, woman, and child to carry portable exploration devices known as PETs. Each PET has a personality which manifests in the form of a Net navi. These trusty digital assistants help you navigate the Net, check your e-mail, and battle against malicious code. After deleting a nasty virus from his oven, which charred his breakfast and very nearly his own mother, fifth grader Lan and his best friend/Net navi Mega Man begin to investigate the nefarious WWW organization. While Lan searches the real world for clues, he'll be able to jack in to various computers and electronic devices. In the cyberworld, Mega Man takes over the active role. As Mega Man, you'll be able to do a bit of online shopping to upgrade your battle capabilities, visit your friends' computers, and do a liberal amount of virus busting.
Whether you're controlling Mega Man or Lan, you'll be able to talk to the character you're not currently playing as for direction and support. When you're at a loss as to where to go or what to do, your partner should be able to provide at least a vague idea of what you should be doing. At certain points, you'll have to switch control back and forth to accomplish your goal. For instance, Lan may have to reboot a crashed computer to open up the way for Mega Man. The battle system of Battle Network is probably its most original and compelling feature. Unlike in a traditional RPG, skill is a primary factor here. Mega Man does gain levels by installing upgrade programs to increase hit points and attack power, but in true Mega Man tradition, quick reflexes and recognizing attack patterns can take you far. Battles take place on a 3-by-8 grid, initially split in two, dividing your area from the enemy's. You and the enemy will move and attack in real time, which results in fast-paced but strategic encounters.
In addition to his tried-and-true buster arm, Mega Man will use battle chips to aid him in battle. Each has a different range and effect. He will have a multitude of damage-dealing chips, such as spreader and longsword, as well as chips that can steal or destroy tiles, recover life, or even call in another navi for help. You initially start with five chips randomly chosen from your folder, and when the battle gauge at the top of the screen is full, you will receive more battle chips. As in a card battle game, collecting new chips and managing your folder will give you an edge in battle. Choosing chips with similar names or codes can allow you to use more than one chip at a time or perform powerful special attacks. New battle chips can be traded, rewarded for efficient deletion of enemies, or found online. The game's battle system aptly captures the essence of Mega Man, and so does the colorful visual style. The boy in blue himself has been smartly redesigned, as have other classic characters like Roll, Guts Man, and Proto Man. There are an abundance of visual and verbal references that fans will immediately pick up on, and the accompanying music matches up just as well as the visuals. Largely due to the battle system, the game is quite engaging and is in many ways unique among RPGs. If there's something that might hold you back from enjoying the game, it's the lighthearted and somewhat goofy story. However, the game doesn't take itself too seriously, so neither should you. Filling your folder with rare and powerful battle chips, battling against Net crime, and reveling in the silliness of the "network age" can make for a very worthwhile gaming experience. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars A Terrible Excuse of a Game
Mortal Kombat Advance was released years ago, but as long as the game remains on the market, people should be warned of the utter disgrace of a title they may one day consider. If you're reading this because that day has come, heed my words closely: There is no legitimate reason to buy Mortal Kombat Advance.None.

Midway was once well-known as a failure in making handheld versions of their popular, arcade-quality titles.Mortal Kombat Advance is one of these. The game is filled with bugs, making the easiest difficulty as ridiculous as it is inconsistant, then almost impossible on any difficulty from the default up.If you're still playing the game after a half-hour or so, it's probably to figure out how to beat anyone in the higher difficulty levels; simply put, it isn't.The game just wasn't made well enough to offer fair play against CPU, and if that's all you've got for play options, then your experience is going to be the worst possible.

The rest of MKA's elements are a mixed bag.The graphics are standard for classic Mortal Kombat games, but the animation is subpar, giving it the air a bad SNES port. The same goes for sound, which is minimal, and music, which is poor if even existent. There really isn't anything for this game to fall back on; not only is it shamefully unimpressive in its gameplay, but it's an embarrassment to hear and see, too.

The only thing this game is even remotely good for is two-player combat. There are over 20 "Kombatants," giving players plenty of characters to keep things mixed up.Not having to deal with the AI is a plus, but the bugs make it difficult to execute moves; consequently, fights are reduced to button-mashing and desperate attempts to pull off combos and special moves, which may or may not even work. This too may ultimately leave you frustrated, especially since the prospect of playing two-player meant TWO copies of this game were purchased; that's simply two too many.

Midway has learned its lesson since releasing Mortal Kombat Advance, releasing far better titles in MK: Deadly Alliance and MK Tournament Edition.Again, if you're even considering Mortal Kombat Advance, do yourself a favor and don't.There are plenty of better options out there.

    2-0 out of 5 stars MKA = UMK3
Its umk3 potable and ruined. It could have been so easy to finally come out with a good mk game on gameboy. the graphics and sound are incredible, and the number of players is nice, but pnce again the game play is sooo bad. It is extermely hard, and very boring. The people move so slow and its almost impossible to win. They should take the old mk2 for the old gb and port it to gba with color and bloo(sorta like the gg version) that would be a thousand times better.

1-0 out of 5 stars I agree with the gamer that said, EGM Gave bad scores
I buy EGM alot and I read all their reviews but something
caught my eye. Mortal Kombat Advance got a O.O out of 10.
I read the review of it and began to laugh one reviewer quoted,
"Mortal Kombat is a stinking pile of bloody dog krap!"
While another quoted, "I'd rather be locked in solitary
confinment while gargling cat piss." Ignor reviewer one, I
do not reccomend this to anyone this game is crap, WARNING:
DO NOT PLAY should be stuck to the box case.....hooorrible

1-0 out of 5 stars EGM's lowest rated game ever.
If I remember correctly, in an old issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (probably the most respected magazine for console gaming), Dan Hsu gave this game a rating of a 0/10; making this to my knowledge, the lowest rated game ever ever reviewed by them.He spoke of numerous glitches in combat itself and combos not being added up correctly... just a blatantly terrible game.

2-0 out of 5 stars You can't make a good portable MK game, so stop trying!
Mortal Kombat games are some of the most widely recognized fighting games out there. Whether you love the games or hate them, they're damn popular. Next to Street Fighter, this is probably the most popular fighting game series of all. Unfortunately, every previous attempt to bring the series to a portable gaming system is an utter failure. But with the Game Boy Advance released, things were looking promising. It seemed that Midway finally had the technology to make a good portable MK game! Did they succeed? Read on for my review of Mortal Kombat Advance.

    PROS:
-THERE ARE A TON OF CHARACTERS TO CHOOSE FROM. Essentially, the list of characters you can choose from is every similar to that of the Nintendo 64 Mortal Kombat title, Mortal Kombat Trilogy. No two characters play exactly alike.
-THE GRAPHICS ARE VERY GOOD. For a portable fighting game, these graphics are excellent. The characters and backgrounds alike both look great.
-THERE ARE A TON OF BACKGROUNDS. The backgrounds make your combat all the more interesting, especially since there are a few background fatalities your characters can pull off.
-UNLIKE SOME EARLIER MORTAL KOMBAT BLUNDERS, THIS GAME IS UNCENSORED! Early Game Boy and Super Nintendo Mortal Kombat games were censored for reasons unknown, but this is a mature-rated game, in all its bloody glory.

    CONS:
-THE ANIMATION IS JUST TOO CHOPPY. Everything in the game looks good except for the movement of the characters. Their movement is just too choppy! And this can really mess up your response times in battle.
-THE GAME FORCES YOU TO USE THE GAME BOY ADVANCE'S SHOULDER BUTTONS. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - WHEN YOU ARE DESIGNING A GAME FOR THE GAME BOY ADVANCE, YOU WANT TO MAKE USAGE OF THE SHOULDER BUTTONS MINIMAL. Unfortunately, one of the most important commands in the game, block, requires usage of the R button. When will game makers learn? Okay, okay, this one is more Nintendo's fault than anyone else.
-MORTAL KOMBAT IS A SIX-BUTTON GAME, BUT GAME BOY ADVANCE HAS FOUR BUTTONS. This means instead of high and low punches and kicks, you only get one punch and one kicks. This just butchers the gameplay.

    OVERALL:
Midway just can't take a hint - every time they make a portable Mortal Kombat game, it fails terribly. They need to quit trying while they're still ahead. If you want a good fighting game for the Game Boy Advance, look elsewhere, because this ain't it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I just DONT know!
My uncle works in Konami in the US. I just don't know how to rate this. Even though this is a good game, I reccomend World Championship 2005. I'll tell you the truth, you can get this game, but GET World Championship 2005. [...]. Bye.

2-0 out of 5 stars How to waste 30 bucks for nothing
When I first saw this game I was attracted by how much it was hyped. ADVANCED AI!!!!! THREE DECKS!!!!!!!!!!! MORE OPPONENTS!!!!!!!! Don't be fooled. The AI was beyond advanced. It would pump up a monster, then sacrifice it for a weaker one. You'd find a much better opponent in a four year old. I would have usually been excited for more opponents, but here they just wasted my time. You need to duel someone over and over to unlock someone else. It just gets old. When I beat the final opponent I felt like chucking this game out the window. I am not risking my money by buying another yu gi oh game. EVER AGAIN

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth The Money
When I saw this game,I figured since it's the championship,it would be good. How wrong I was.You start of with Yuugi(Yugi),Ryou(Bakura),Honda(Tristan),Grandpa,Anzu(Tea).Beside their pics and names is the type of duelist they are.(eg.High ATK)You duel them ,and if you win,you pic a booster pack with about 5 new cards. It then sends you to your deck page, where you can edit and list your deck how you want to(as if that helps). There are two slots in the area where you find the duelists, apparently when you win a new character comes.I've been dueling each character and winning at least 5 times each. Those slots never get filled. So basically, you do the same thing over and over and over and over again.Buy Worldwide Edition Stairway to the Destined Duel or The Sacred Cards instead.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME EVER!!!
This is the best Yu-Gi-oh! Game ever made. The rules are just like the official rules ( So there is no level $hit ) and all the characters from the tv show are also featured. The cards from LOB, MRD, MRL, PSV, and LON. There will be some cards ( Dark Magician Girl, Wide-spread Ruin )that are later released and some ( Big Shield Gardna, Shine Palace ) that arent even released in America! The game is so great and the promos are cool. Defanitely pick this up!

2-0 out of 5 stars The other ones were better.
One day Konami made a card game that had potential to become as popular as football. Then that same person slapped on a corny story that was based on the card game and made the card game based on the story. (I'm confused too.) Then they made a game for the gameboy advance that directly recreated the actual card game, with excellent AI and most of the cheesiness taken out. It was called Eternal duelist soul. Then they made another one with more cards and an improved interface, called Stairway to the destined duel. Then Konami apparently fired all their good programmers and created World championship 2004.

The good AI was gone. Your opponent would summon a huge monster, power it up to haides and back, and then sacrifice it to play a weaker monster. Then your opponent would wait until he had used up his summon for his turn and play 'Dark Hole', wich destroyed all monsters on the field WHEN YOU DIDN'T HAVE ANY TO DESTROY ANYWAY, MEANING YOUR OPPONENT JUST SLAUGHTERED HIMSELF BY KILLING HIS OWN MONSTERS AND LEAVING HIMSELF OPEN TO ATTACK ON YOUR TURN.

Most people who have played this series complain about the game being slow. In this game you have an excuse because the game play is stuck in slo-mo, wich nobody wanted to play in in either of the earlier games. What made Konami think that people wanted to use up ten minutes taking three turns? The phase change messages are annoying, slow, AND YOU CAN'T MAKE THEM STOP!

Then you can't take passwords off your real life cards and use them in the game and it's almost impossible to get good cards. Worse yet, the cards you start out with would be pleased to be called 'pathetic', because that's much more credit than they deserve.

I have to mention that you can also trade and play against anybody else that has this game. The only problem is: Nobody else has it. The reason for that being that nobody wants it. The reason for nobody wanting it is hopefully obvious by now.

You can't play hardly anybody unless you've played hundreds and hundreds of hour long duels, wich after a few games, you won't want to do. I seriously suggest that if you are reading this review, you hit the back button on your browser and search for 'Stairway to the Destined Duel'. Trust me on this, if anything. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A Pleasent Suprise from Majesco!
I had heard about Iridion (the first) and didn't really feel like getting it. I had heard that you couldn't see where you were aiming shots and many negative things. I didn't really expect Iridion 2 to be much better...but believe me...I was wrong...
-----------------------
Storyline = 3.5/5 Aliens are invading, just like 100 years
ago. Can YOU save the world?

Graphics= 4.5/5 Very well done. Gives out a 3D feel, but
not annoyingly like Iridion 1

Interest= 3/5 This was a definate weak-spot of Iridion
2, it doesn't keep you're interest. It's
fun, but the whole type of play is the
same all game. It gets boring eventually.

Reccomend = 3.7/5 I don't think this is the best game I've
ever seen. They did the best they could,
but it's the same thing again and again.
-----------------------

Overall, this game was pretty good. But, like I said, it gets boring after awhile. It's not your average StarFox game (which are great), but it's not you're average Barney game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly what the GBA needed!
Iridion 2 is one of the best shooters I've played in some time.Although the Gradius-style endless upgrades aren't present (I'm a sucker for an inhumanly long trail of entities mimicking my movement and firing patterns, what can I say?), the system employed in I2 is very well-done.At the beginning of the level, you choose which one of six weapons you wish to use. This weapon begins at level 1 (of 3 maximum), while all the other 5 weapons begin at level "0" (must use a powerup to activate level 1 of the desired weapon.)Even at level 1, your ship always has access to a charge-up shot (double tap the firing button) which is much, much more powerful and can form combo attacks.Using a powerup on a maxed out weapon instead replenishes 50% of your ships shield bar, and since they can be saved up, work as energy tanks in times of crisis (e.g. the final boss). The only real grumble is the unbalanced nature of the weapons. While the Plasma Cannon and the Bouncing Blue Balls (read with a clean mind, I command it) are awesome in just about any level, the semi-homing green lasers are just pitiful, not to mention the 4-directional shot. This can be looked at as a way to add challenge, and I personally chose a different weapon every level to keep the game fresh. The most unnecessary addition, in my opinion, is the smartbomb, which really tones the difficulty down quite a lot.3 smartbombs can kill just about any boss, and I never really used them.

The gameplay, while fantastic, wasn't the main selling point for me.Although very well-adjusted in terms of difficulty, the music and sound were beyong top-notch.Veteran GBA composer Manfred Linzner (who, if I read the credits right, did a fair share of programming too) turns out another beautiful soundtrack, with an 80's-techno feel that just plain works with this game. The ever popular track "Cloudy Stairway" has returned from the original (easily my favorite track from I3D), and the music is just perfect for the ambience Shin'en wanted to create with this little number. The sound effects are also very well intergrated, and don't break the music (fans of NES shooters should know exactly what I'm talking about) or halt certain tracks to any noticible degree.

Finally, the challenge. It's challenging!Even on Starter Pilot (TURN AUTO-UPGRADE OFF!) the first level will probably take a life or two.The learning curve is pretty steep, with the second set of galaxies boasting a formidable challenge and the levels only picking up from there. The bosses are pretty easy, with the occaisional 3 or 4 who will get you a few times.

All in all, it's a great game with another, albeit different from the original, well-crafted faux-3D engine. The GBA continues to show us new and better ways to duplicate arcade experience, and if Iridion 2 is evident of a perminant "raising of the bar", I say bring on 3, and bring it soon!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic game!
Wow, this game is dope. Its a shoot-em-up type of game, you fly one of two future flying machines and shoot away in futuristic setting. The graphics is super awesome, best I've seen for GBA. The sound/music is great too! The control and variety of weapons is solid. The gameplay is totally awesome and fast! It feels like you are playing a REAL flying arcade shooting game, HUGE feeling from the tiny GBA, WOW! It feels 3-D even though its a 2-D game. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
This game is way better than the original Iridion. The graphics have improved which Iridion's were still wonderful. The style of the game has changed a little bit.The view is above the ship, and you can move side to side and forward and backwards, the guns upgrade to massive shooting range. The storyline is very good, but seems to stay the same with the general telling you that the "evil iridion empire is on the planet . . . " then you have to go fight on that planet. When the game is beaten, there is still more to do.An area in the game allows you to complete one level with one life and try to get the highest score possible. After you beat the level, then a code is given to you to put on the website given. You will then be ranked among other people all over the world. This is a very good game and for the price i would certainly get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Action
Wow! This is a great sequel to the not-so-good Iridion 3D. The point of view is now above/rear the ship, and the gameplay really rocks!
You'll have to face 5 galaxies of 3 planets each. Each planet sports one mid-level boss and one end level boss, each with his own patterns of attack.
You can choose from 3 levels of difficulty. While easiest is really easy (I've finished the game in one afternoon) the medium one is quite challenging.
Playing the game you'll unlock new game modes, like "Challenge" that puts you against all the Bosses, one after the other.
Graphics is very good. Colorful, clean and bright, so it's not a problem playing this game on a non-SP GBA.
I suggest this game to everyone. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars BLOOD and GORE! Cooool!
This game has blood and gore! I found this game one of the best handheld fighting games.Only 1 problem, too little characters.

Graphics:5/5
Audio:3/5
Replayability:5/5
Gameplay:4/5
Fustration:2/5

Pros:1.great graphics
2.When both you and your opponent are down to your last bit of strength, you hear HEARTBEATS!
3.Unique characters.
4.Tons of unlockables
5.lots of special attacks

Cons:
Not many characters, and some of their costumes LOOK LIKE DRESSES!

This game is great, but go for Mortal Kombat if you have XBOX,GameCube or PS2.Have only a gba, this is strongly reccommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Quick Slashing Combo Fight Fun!
Nice graphics, and weapons in a fight game. We'll probably never see a Soul Calibur for GBA, and there are much better fight games out there, but this is definately fun. The fighters you can choose are unique, and the movement is pretty fluid for a 32mb game. Definately worth having around for a time killer!

5-0 out of 5 stars I really like this game!
I really like this game. It is alot like street fighter alpha 3 but that is not bad. It is good, very good because I like street fighter. Anyway, this game is very realistic and bloody but that makes it all more enjoyable(to me)and the music is very good. I wish it had more characters than just a few but that is ok. They're all good characters. Just because it is rated M doesnt mean it is badjust a little cartoon blood, so dont worry about your kid playing it. Overall I really like this game graphics, sound, etc. Buy now!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best fighting game on GBA I have ever seen
I had the chance to play that game and I think its very deep in sense for a fighting game. Graphics, sound but the most important, the gameplay is well done. Many different characters and game styles (with different I mean really different). And also the combos and hidden moves are very good.
Its more than a fighting game you will see...

5-0 out of 5 stars Dual Blades...THE BEST!!!
Dual Blades is the newest game to hold the Metro 3D title, with it realistes graphics and battel settings. I think you will love the befor battel trash talk and the differnt players you will meet along the way. so that is why i give this game such a great reating and if you don't like it vote for it your self and i'll cheek it when i'n looking for new games to see how you like it. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This game is awful! Absolutly, positively DON'T buy it.
I own the first three Spyro games and when this one came out I coudn't wait to get it. However, I made a serios mistake. Spyro can't move very well, and you die the second you come near water, which I think is terrible seeing as this game is supposed to take place AFTER he learned to swim. This game has bad graphics, annoying speedways and Sparx levels, and can't show elevation. As a general rule, everything looks completly flat so when you go to make a glide, you find out the place you're gliding to is too high. Furthermore, enemies with missles and fireworks take about two seconds aiming at you then they just blow you up. In conclusion NEVER, EVER buy this game!

2-0 out of 5 stars Annoying!
I have all the Spyro games for PS1 & PS2, and I LOVE them, so when I got my GBA I bought Season Of Ice right away....and was very annoyed. At first I thought it would be cool, because there are fairies and mermaids, but the controls are much more difficult on the GBA than the Playstations.I have trouble getting Spyro to go the direction I want him to, especially on diagonals.I think it's because you're using directional buttons instead of a joystick.I don't think it can be the fault of the button on my individual GBA, because I bought it brand new and this is one of the first games I've played on it.Anyway, I have trouble crossing bridges and just moving around in general; it makes it incredibly obnoxious, because every time you fall in water you die.I say, if you have a Game Cube and a Game Boy Player (so you can use a joystick) this could be a great game, but if you just have a GBA, don't bother, it's more frustrating than it's worth.

2-0 out of 5 stars A frustrating let-down
OK, first of all, I have the 3 original Spyro games for Playstation, and I love them, so when I got my GBA, I immediately bought this Spyro game and the second one, Season of Fire. I haven't played the second one yet, but I'm almost afraid to, because this one was so disappointing. The graphics are great, I'll give you that, but that's about where it ends. The gameplay is horrible, like others have said. The controls seem to be opposite of what I would expect, and charging always makes my arm ache from trying to control him in tight turns. Also, the fact that you die if you put your toe in a puddle is really annoying, especially since the storyline shows that it's supposed to be after Spyro learned to swim. The most frustrating level so far for me is the hummingbird port, where you have to glide to different platforms, most of which you can't see without moving the camera to search for them, and all of them are impossible to tell which are above and which are below you. I've found that a basic rule is that if it looks higher, it's below you, and if it looks lower, then it's above you. I gave up on that level when I couldn't find any more sections to go to, and just kept going in circles. I do like the speedways, and also Sparx's worlds, but that's not quite enough to off-set the frustration from the other levels. It probably wouldn't seem so bad if I hadn't already gotten so good at the playstation versions, so if you are just looking for something to pass the time on the road or something, go ahead and buy it. But if you are looking for a Gameboy version of the original Spyro games, don't bother. Though, I'll try Season of Fire, and maybe Spyro Orange, which my stepmom owns, before giving up on GBA Spyro.
As a side-note, when are we going to get to play Bentley the Yeti? He was my favorite. I'd buy the game if he were in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spyro's the best!
[...]

This game is challenging when you first start, but when you get the hang of it, it may be easier. You start on Autumn Fairy World and, depending on how many fairies you have, you can get up to the other seasons.I'm on Winter Fairy Home, which is the second season.

This game allows you to breathe as much fire as you need, jump, fly, glide, and land.In Winter Fairy Home, there are challenging mini-games such as Hummingbird Fort.If you are a beginner, I won't suggest this game because sometimes it can be very challenging, like when you get into the Sparks World. If you've been using Game Boy Advance for a while and you get the hang of it pretty well, I suggest this game because it lets you use your skills, and it makes you think.

Overall, I think it's a really great game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Spyro
I hated this game because it was the same thing each level, find the fairies and get the jewels. The levels got very boring after a while, and I was glad when I beat the game. I don't recommend this game to anyone.I hated it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The best game
I love this game. This game has a lot of sense of humor. The one on super nintendo is actually much better , i mean they are about the same on gba the only difference is the gba is much harder. I cant even finish the game on GBA but on super nintendo I can finish it in less than 2 hrs..

4-0 out of 5 stars almost the greatest game for gameboy advance
earthworm jim is back and even better than the first one. it has great sound and graphics and interesting things to do such as carry pigs, journey in the small intestine as a salimander fly with his pocket rocket and bounce puppies on marshmellows.the graphics are crisp and there is also great sound. you also now carry along your buddy snot so jim can use snot swing and snot parachute.there is one major flaw with the game though the passwords dont work very well, only a few do .but besides this downfall the game is still pretty great! (e-mail me to get passwords if you buy the game)

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game but.....
This game is really fun to play but it crashes on the fourth(?) level when using a password. And half of the passwords it gives do not work.So if you don't mind playing this game all the way through or if you're lucky enough to get functional passwords, this is a great game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Garoovy!
How could I pass up a game as nostalgic as earth worm jim 2. The first one is great and so is the sequel and they're just as good as they were on the SNES (the sound track is a bit muffled but meh). This game is awsome, the fun is unmatched. Buy this game!! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars ok
OK, this game is kinda good and I like it a bit.
The graphics are not so good and the bean challenges are sorta hard. The Basililsk is so dumb it like shoots little green thingies out of its mouth at you and you never get the sword. If I were to remake this game I would have you fight basililsk with sword, have you be able to fly the car, have more spells, make gringotts a little easier, and change the invisibility cloak(you find it in the hallway and it makes you invisible for a little while then goes back to where you found it-but is an advantage, its very hrd to sneak by Snape otherwise).

This is not worth your money, unless you are a Harry Potter total mainaic.

3-0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing and short

4-0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this game
I received a GBA from my brother, & because I'm a fan of Harry Potter this was the 1st game I bought.I really enjoyed playing it, & found that I couldn't stop playing it!

I was impressed by the graphics, & the sound was pretty good (The last handheld I had was the original clunky Gameboy) so this was a suprise to see how it's changed graphically.

The story wasn't the best (Nothing like the Gamecube version), but I liked performing the tasks, & it was in a way almost relaxing to play this game.It definately made long drives less long.

Although I must admit I suck at Quidditch...Oh well, we can't all be a Viktor Krum...

1-0 out of 5 stars It'll help u get to sleep cause it is so boring!!!!!
This game is weak and it really is a waste of money. The graphics are ok but there is hardly any sound except beeps! There is no action, adventue or anything like that. It takes about an hour to complete if you're slow. The only good thing is well nothing!!! Don't buy this game cause it is a waste of your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars I liked it!
This was my second Harry Potter game, the first being Sorcerer's Stone on GBC.I loved this game!

Okay, so I'm one of the older people into games, but it was a nice challenge.Keeping me busy at the doctor's office, when I needed sleep but couldn't, and other activities too boring to mention.

The graphics were okay, much better than GBC.In reality, GBC sucked! After completing COS I went out and bought this one for GBA.Unfortunately, rule #1 is never buy it used.I need to purchase a NEW one!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Arcade classics in miniature form
I fondly recall playing all four of these games at the local arcade when I was a kid, and it's great to see them available now in handheld form on the Gameboy. The ports are pretty much verbatim, and if you're looking for some videogame nostalgia then this petite collection should offer you some momentary fun.

That being said, what works in an arcade setting doesn't necessarily work on a handheld, and Super Hang-On in particular really just isn't much fun without actually sitting on the plastic bike and leaning left and right to control the game.Outrun is another racing game that just doesn't offer much excitement once the nostalgia wears off (and it will).Space Harrier and Afterburner still offer some thumb-burning fun, though, and it's easy to recommend this collection for those two games alone.

All in all, if you remember these games fondly and want to revisit them from time to time in whatever setting you use your Gambeboy, you can't go wrong purchasing this cartridge. If you're looking for serious gaming that will entertain you for more than a few minutes at a time, you'll probably want to spend your money elsewhere.

4-0 out of 5 stars Above average compilation of legendary Sega games
Consisting of After Burner, Outrun, Space Harrier, and Super Hang-On, all of which were massive hits in the arcade for Sega, Sega Arcade Gallery is an above average compilation that nostalgia gamers will enjoy. After Burner is a classic shooter in which you command a jet and blast your way through 20 levels of opposing fighter planes. It looks like the same game that did time in the arcades, but there is much missing here. The bonus levels with ground targets are gone, as is the on screen radar in which you can escape chase planes.Thankfully, that game is the only low point here.Outrun is almost identical to it's arcade counterpart and is still a fun racing game to this day.Space Harrier is still a unique shooter that is still a blast to play, and Super Hang-On is as challenging as ever and is also almost identical to it's arcade counterpart as well.A save feature (or a pause feature as well) for high scores would have been a welcome addition, but oh well. All in all, minus the poor conversion of After Burner, Sega Arcade Gallery is a nearly perfect port of some classic Sega games.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
THQ's Sega Arcade Gallery brings together four classic arcade games on a single Game Boy Advance cartridge. The collection includes Space Harrier, OutRun, Super Hang-On, and After Burner, all of which were originally released between 1985 and 1987. For the most part, the games come across well on the Game Boy Advance. All four employ traditional two-dimensional sprite-based graphics and use basric scaling and rotation effects to suggest the appearance of three-dimensional environments--a technique that's perfectly suited to the capabilities of Nintendo's popular handheld. While these games would seem dated on a more powerful console, they fit right in on the GBA.
Even today, OutRun is a truly enjoyable racing game. Space Harrier is the oldest game in the compilation, and it's also the most unique. Set in a world known as the fantasy zone, the game puts you in control of a warrior who soars through the air on a jetpack and battles monstrous creatures using a powerful blaster rifle. Thanks to the forward thrust produced by the jetpack, enemies and terrain are constantly racing toward you. It's your job to dodge these hazards and use your blaster rifle to defeat the bosses waiting at the end of each stage.
Space Harrier was just the second project for a 27-year-old producer and programmer named Yu Suzuki, who would later go on to design many recent hits such as Virtua Fighter 4, F355 Challenge, and Shenmue. Bits Studios did a nice job of bringing Suzuki's second undertaking to the GBA. The psychedelic color schemes and fast shooting action are just as addictive on the smaller screen. The only major deviation from the arcade game is the removal of the specific theme music for each of the bosses. Eagle-eyed fans of the original will also notice that the enemies don't aim as accurately in the GBA version, but the game is still plenty challenging. The next game in the collection is OutRun, which places you behind the wheel of a snazzy red sports car. Your goal is to beat the clock while traveling from one course segment to the next. Although there aren't any opponents to speak of, commuter traffic can slow you down or nudge you off the highway--where a collision with the various signs and boulders along the roadside will lead to a time-consuming rollover accident. A gearshift toggle lets you select between high and low gears, giving you better control through hairpin turns. The most distinctive feature of OutRun is that it allows you to choose between two different pathways at the end of each course segment. In this fashion, the scenery changes with each successive segment, giving you control over how the environment looks every time you play the game. In total, the game contains 15 unique courses. Except for a few minor differences, the version of OutRun included in this compilation is a tiny doppelganger of the original arcade game. The most noteworthy change involves the tendency of the car to pull more quickly toward the side of the road at higher speeds. This is a difference some purists may scoff at, but it literally takes less than 30 seconds to adjust to. Devoted fans often point to the game's music as its most outstanding aspect, and the GBA duplicates all three music selections with remarkable accuracy, even if the bass volume seems a little loud at times. Cosmetically speaking, there are fewer boulders and signs lining the side of the road, and the signs announcing the names of upcoming course segments are absent. All the other graphical features from the arcade game are present, however. Super Hang-On, the third game on the cartridge, has a lot in common with OutRun. The underlying goal of both games is the same: to reach the end of a lengthy course as quickly as possible. Here, though, all the vehicles are motorcycles as opposed to cars and trucks. There are a few other differences as well. The gearshift has been replaced with a nitrous boost that you can trigger at top speed, and you no longer have the option to pick and choose course segments during a race. Instead, you choose one of four different premade route maps before the race begins. In all, the game contains a grand total of 48 different course segments. Those of you who remember Super Hang-On for the Sega Genesis may be disappointed to learn that the GBA version doesn't allow you to collect parts or hire different mechanics. Those features were unique to the Sega Genesis version and not included in the original arcade game, which the GBA conversion is based on. Rounding out the collection is After Burner, an aircraft-based shooter in which you have to work your way through roughly 20 stages of oncoming fighter planes. Even though this pint-sized conversion of After Burner looks and sounds like the original arcade game, it doesn't play nearly as well. The controls are slow to respond, and you can avoid most--if not all--incoming fire by performing barrel rolls. The game is also just flat-out missing a few major aspects from the original arcade version, such as the ability to attack ground targets during bonus stages or the need to escape chase planes using the onscreen radar.
This version of After Burner is missing a few aspects from the original arcade game, such as the ability to hit ground targets in the bonus stages. The only other low point for the compilation is the absence of a save feature for recording high scores or pausing games in progress. This isn't a huge complaint by any means, but it's still annoying to make progress in a game or to input your name onto the high score list and have all your hard work disappear once you turn the system off. Despite the omissions and deficiencies in After Burner and the unfortunate absence of a save feature, Sega Arcade Gallery is one retro collection that's worth owning. The ports of Space Harrier, OutRun, and Super Hang-On are remarkably close to the original arcade versions, and all the games in the compilation compare well with what's already available for the Game Boy Advance.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good caompilation, but some bad games
Before there was Virtua Fighter 4, Shen Mue, and Daytona USA, a game designer at Sega, Yu Suzuki, worked on many arcade games that are considered "classics" today. THQ commissioned Bits Studios, the development team responsible for the Game Boy Color Warlocked game to recreate four of Yu Suzuki's games on the Game Boy Advance hardware. Since the GBA's hardware isn't quite up to the task of emulating the hardware Sega used for these arcade games, Bits had to build these titles from scratch for the handheld. Only real fans of the original will see the differences between arcade and home versions, because the team has done a commendable job bringing the games from the arcade hardware to the Nintendo portable. Each Sega fan will certainly have his or her own favorite, but the game that means the most to me is Outrun, a simple but energetic racing game across the country in a Ferrari with its top down. The GBA rendition is pretty spot-on with the arcade version, though there are slight differences here and there: slightly fewer trackside sprites and a lower resolution for the actual road. This game has the most variety out of the four in the pack, since players can take different branches and see different parts of Outrun's world. The gameplay is missing the analog control from the arcade version's steering wheel (and I do miss the "shimmy" from the wheel when the car flies off the track), but it still controls pretty well in its digital conversion on the GBA. And it's great to hear "Magical Sound Shower" coming out of the GBA's speakers. Number two on the list is Space Harrier, one of the first 3D shooters ever conceived. In the game, players move their on-screen character up, down, left, and right, shooting at oncoming enemies and avoiding their incoming fire...as well as other obstacles floating around the area. I was never that good at the arcade version, but on the GBA port it's not terribly difficult to reach level ten. But it's a blast to get that far, and the developers recreate all the gameplay, graphics and music very well on the GBA hardware. Again, there's no analog on the GBA system, so the developers map a "quick move" function to one of the shoulder buttons for better control over the character; but honestly, the character moves fast enough as is. Super Hang On is another decent Sega racer that's put together pretty well on the GBA system. Instead of porting over the original, which is essentially just Pole Position on a motorcycle, Bits gives us the next generation...which is Pole Position on steroids. There's no gearing this time...players can opt to turbo-boost their bike after the bike hits its maximum speed. This is necessary to complete the different tracks and pass the opposition, since the clock's ticking away surprisingly fast. The GBA handles the pace of the game extremely well, even when the screen gets cluttered with half a dozen opposing cyclists. It seems like every great GBA arcade compilation has its black sheep, and in the case of Sega Arcade Gallery, After Burner earns that title. As awesome and energetic as the game was in the arcades, on the Game Boy Advance version the game feels much slower, and has less technique in its design. In the arcade, players had control over their aircraft with an analog flight yoke, but on the GBA the controls are much more limiting. Players will die without really seeing why they got hit, since it's hard to see incoming missiles. The intensity just isn't here, whether it's due to controls or just not enough attention paid in the port from arcade to the GBA system. There are other compromises in the design as well: players never land their craft like they do in the arcade...these sequences in the arcade are replaced by the in-air refuel sequence from the first level.
Like all the rest of the classic arcade compilations on the GBA, Sega Arcade Gallery doesn't feature any sort of save RAM in the cartridge, which means the thought of recording high scores is thrown out the window...power down the system and all of your rankings are lost. It's a minor complaint, but in a design where high scores are the real driving factor in playing, it's a drag that it doesn't record these scores. And while Bits Studios did a fine job with the conversion of these four games, they didn't go the extra mile for the GBA compilation. No history, no background details on each of the games, and no hidden extras after reaching specific parts of the games. So, don't expect anything more than a straightforward presentation.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Dream Come True
This is an excellent package of four great near perfect arcade translations of OutRun,Sapce Harrier,After Burner and
Super Hang On. I've always wanted to Play OutRun and
Space Harrier in arcade quality on a Handheld System and here it is. And for [$$]...Come on...? YOU CANT GO WRONG.
THQ made these games interesting by making them a bit harder than the arcade games to provide somewhat of a challenge.
The music emulation is close but on OutRun's "Magical Sound Shower" there is a part missing a loop and in Space Harrier Stage four the music doesn't change. However you can go into the options and listen to full versions in the sound test section.
But Gameplay and Graphic wise this is a steal. Please don't pass this one up. Let's keep classic gaming alive.
