3-0 out of 5 stars Eh
Alright, I had my sare of addiction towards this game and it was actually awhile ago, but I'll try to explain what I liked about this game.

From the start of this game, you'll most likely notice the very bad graphics that are displayed... or maybe the bad sound.. or maybe the decent number of people online at one time

Well, i think this game was the best game in the world to me at one time, I had a level 27 Warrior Halfling ( Hobbit ). But simply, I stopped playing ebcause I stopped paying the 10$ a month. And after that, a few months leter i went to the computer version, Everquest II. ( see my review for that. )

There are some good things about this game. It is online so you can play with other players, it's overall a fantastically made RPG, ( in my opinion better than FinalFantasy by a long-shot. ) And improvements over the first one for the PS2, there is a new Race. ( The Ogre. ) and new class. ( Alchemist. ) There are also some new areas to explore, with new creatures. The team also updated you're leveling, so instead of the highest level being 50, it is now 60. The final thing that was updated, was a very very slight update in graphics. They are hard to see, but they are there. Anyways, if you do play this game and begin to like it, trust me; your hours will be FLYING by. My summer in 2003 and part of 2004 was gone before i knew it. ( I played the first one too. )

Anyways enjoy yourself with it. This game can be enjoyable to you, or a piece of junk.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game but.......
It would seem SOE has turned their back on this game.It is a good game,It needs a lot of updates, and definitely a NEW expansion!!Overall this game rocks, but customer service is horrible!Talk to anybody who plays this game, they love it,except for the way SOE treats us as customers.Be prepared for lots of xp grinding, which can get tedious after a while. But xp grinding is not unique to just this game. There is plenty to do on frontiers for a newbie...but beyond that it's past time for a new expansion.I think SOE needs to remember they do have other games and customers other than those on EQ2.I also play regular EQ,so i am a fan of the series,SO....I think the future of eq frontiers is uncertain, have you seen it on the shelves anywhere? That in itself speaks volumes. So let the buyer beware!GOOD game, bad support, uncertain future.

3-0 out of 5 stars Need no life to play
Everquest is a valiant attempt at an online rpg hypbrid but is far too encompassing for its own good. One must have no life and play constantly to really get the most out of the game and advance.I like the characters and idea but i just cannot get into it, i am looking forward to similar games with what i feel will be better online capabilities and better enjoyment and value. I would recommend Capcom's Monster Hunter or even the obligatory FF but that one has monthly fees whereas Monster Hunter is free.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Read
(...) i am 16 and i dont want to go though that stupid sign up thing. Anyway..... This is a great game but it comes at a price u do have to pay (...) but its well worth it. Be careful of everquest because it is very addictive some ppl play it for days straight. In fact a lot of ppl call it Ever Crack. Its such a fun game dont wry but be contious of what time it is because hours go by like minutes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can you improve on perfection?
Surprisingly, the answer is, 'Yes.Yes you can.'

The original EQOA is the best of the overcrowded MMORPG herd. It's simple and fast paced, inexpensive and addictive. From a technology perspective it does amazing things on a PS2 without a harddrive. When I first played it, I couldn't imagine making a better RPG without waiting for the next generation of consoles to come out.

But SOE did it.EQOA: Frontiers is that better RPG!It's the same shared world as the original- both sets of players can fight side-by-side.Most of what SOE improved on are the little things, things that you'd never even notice until you played both. The imagery and music is better. There are ambient effects like fog and raining brimstone in the right places. The skies and the weather are just a little bit more present and real.

Best of all, though, your character is more customizable with better textures and an absolutely fantastic 'Class Mastery' system that lets you choose what path you want to take to power.Even within the same class and race, two characters can end up with very different strengths and weaknesses.

Add all that to making what is already a huge online landscape even larger, and you have more than a great game. It's an achievement.

And so I'd have to say that EQOA: Frontiers is my new pick for the finest of the MMORPG genre.Start with the original if you're skeptical- it only costs as much as a month's subscription. But mark my words, you'll end up buying the upgrade to fuel your addiction.

And when you do, you'll be impressed.Very impressed. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Originally released in 1981 by Konami, the Frogger arcade game isconsidered an all-time classic. Since then the property has been transferred toseveral owners, many of which tarnished the Frogger tradition. Now, backin Konami's hands, the little green fellow brings back everything people lovedabout the original arcade game, but with a modern twist.

Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog pits Frogger against the evilMr. D, who has stolen the mystical elements that nourish the hero's marsh.Frogger must make his way through 15 levels spanning six environments in orderto find the elements. After every few levels, he must engage in a boss fight.Like in the arcade original, Frogger spends most of his time hopping left, right, up, and forward, but in this version he must deal with more than movingcars and snapping crocodiles. The game's levels feature all sorts of perils, such as mazelike conveyer belts, spiked floors, and crumbling platforms. Thereare also 32 different types of enemies standing in his way. Among the fewdownsides of the game are its short length, the lack of variety-adding options, and the fact that the coin system that allows you to reach the last level iseasy to fool.

This is a great example of how to properly update a classic. The simple gameplayof the original Frogger is intact, but the developers have added cleverlevels, bright graphics, and modern game mechanics to the mix. This game is sureto please longtime Frogger fans, as well as create some new ones.--Raymond M. Padilla

Pros:

  • Easy-to-learn gameplay
  • Levels add a new twist to classic Frogger moves
  • Four in-game save slots
Cons:
  • Lack of options
  • A bit short
  • Coin system is easy to cheat

1-0 out of 5 stars I HATE THIS GAME
This game is so stupid! I would leave it in the trash! Luigi's mansion is better.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVED THIS GAME SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! It is origianol, interesting and really really fun! It has 5 cute little worlds, and 15 levels. It gets really hard over time, but as soon as you get familiar with all of the controls and enimies, it isn't as hard as it seems. A little hint: On parts of the 2nd earth element level, move fast! Don't think, move fast! It helps! I finished the game in about a week, and my favorite places were the sea world and temple levels. Buy this game now, it totally rocks!

1-0 out of 5 stars PLEASE....

this game is too easy and im a twelve year old, its not original and doesnt have the kind of thrill and excitement its just k nothing special,if i were u i wouldnt waste my money and would by super mario advance games instead, theyre much better

5-0 out of 5 stars The Most Fun Frogger Yet
I thought this game was very fun.The first level is easy ,but once people try the second level they think it is hard.(Most of the levels have the same type of moves so once you get the hang of it its not so hard.)the temple is the best part in my opinion. The graphics are also pretty good, and the music is great. Some people say that the game is impossible to beat, but that's not true.I've beaten the game the whole way through until the end credits.Overall I thought this game was challenging, addictive, and very fun! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Harry potter 3 is the best game yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this game. After I get home from shool I play this game

5-0 out of 5 stars Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azakaban GBA Game
Very good game, excellent quality. The game sticks to the book more than the movie does! Easiest to play when you start at the begining and work your way up to beat the game. I got the game a few days ago and already I'm on the part where you have to go back to Hogwarts when you come back from the Shrieking Shack. Some parts are tricky though and take a couple of tries to accomplish (i.g. Whomping Willow, Crabbe + Goyle, mazes, etc.).
The game is fun to play and can sometimes be addictive!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Why did you bloody cut out brooms?
I realy love Harry Potter.I think It's safe to say I'm obssesed. So naturally, I bought HP3 on Gamecube and on GBA.I loved them both quite alot, but I always loved QUIDDITCH.I played the game and you don't even see a broom in the Gamecube version, and you see one broom in GBA and you NEVER ride it.It's all Buckbeak. Not that it's not an absolutly wicked idea, I do love to ride Beaky, but I was realy looking forward to Quidditch 3rd year. The GBA version was definatly fun, and I advise you to buy it, but before you do, If you have a Gamecube, PS2, or XBox systom, play it on there first THEN if you like that version buy a portable version (GBA or GBA SP)of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Signed,
Haley (Harry's Girl 4 ever)

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy Pissy Tips
When you are ending and you are done defeating Malfoy. I suggest you to chose Herminone to get to Sirius. Herminone Is more easy to go through. Belive me, for I have played this game like 6 times already and Harry and Herminone are on level 52 already. It is great!

3-0 out of 5 stars A Good Game....But Way Too Short
I recently ordered this game, and it just came yesterday afternoon. I have already finished it. Need I say more? The game leaves out many important plot line, never do you fly a broom or play Quiddich, never is the Marauder's Map mentioned, and never do you get to vist Hogesmade. Starting to get my drift? I only rated this game as highly as I did because the graphics are pretty good (for a GBA), and it was pretty fun while it lasted. I am not bragging when I say it took me about 5 hours to beat. I am a gamer who explores the whole game, not just following the plot line. If you haven't read the book or seen the movie, there is no way you will understand what is happening. There are really no puzzles to solve either, everything you have to do is extremely straight forward. Another thing I didn't like about the game was that events that could have been made fun and challenging were not. Let's take the example of the dementors. In the game, they turn this into an incredibly stupid mini-game that has no point whatsoever. This is also the case with flying Buckbeak and defeating the boggart. The replay value is also next to zip because you keep your level when you restart making you too powerful for the game to have any meaning. In conclusion, if you have a lot of money to spend, by all means get the game. If you don't and you are looking for a game that will last you a long time, this is definitly not your game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Run 'n gun action? Here ya go.
Metal Slug- possibly one of the most addictive, and difficult, game series out there. Now that the games have been getting somewhat popularized on other systems, it was only a matter of time before handheld versions of it showed up. And no disrespect to the NeoGeo Pocket Color, but we needed it on a more mainstream system that was easily accessable. And we got one here on the GBA finally, and it's pretty cool. While I'm sick of people going on and on about the "sacrifices in animation", there isn't much else wrong with the game. It's not nearly as hard as say, Metal Slug 3, but there's always the hard mode that sits and waits.

Metal Slug is about nothing but fun. Not some deep storyline. You select one of two characters in this- Walter or Tyra, and run around shooting soldiers and whatever else may be in your way. They've been placed on a remote island as part of their training drill, which is also their first taste of real combat. You'll cap enemies, take leaps of faith over pits, fly jets and shoot down parachute squads, hop in the Metal Slug tank and mow down foes, and of course, pick up a variety of different guns to help make things easier. Along the way, you'll rescue prisoners like in the other games, but also pick up cards. Don't misunderstand me there though, collecting cards doesn't become a necessity. In fact, they're really just for added replay. Some prisoners and some crates will have cards that do a number of things. Some upgrade your tank's armor, some recover your health, some are character cards, and some let you take more hits. Yeah, you read correctly there- you now have a health bar. No more one-hit kills (unless you fall in a pit), your character can take 3 or 4 hits before kicking the bucket and having to start over. While this system is very nice, and something I wish MS3 had, it's also slighly annoying since you don't have any lives. And once you get hit, you're invincible for -maybe- 2 seconds before you're back to normal. This is a problem in the later stages where enemy fire is all over the place, and you could get hit immediately after you stop flashing. Also, once you die, all cards you earned in previous sections are lost, and when you come back, you start in the area you died in. This is, again, nice that you get to start back in the same section, but annoying in that you just got a ton of cards and more than likely, will start the level all over again. But you'll get used to it- the game's fun enough to warrant starting levels from the beginning if you die at a boss.

You want weapons? You got 'em. All the MS classics are here. Your basic handgun now has a rapid-fire feature if you select it from the options menu. This makes gameplay much easier. For some odd reason, you shoot faster in this mode if you're ducking. There's a big hint on how to take down heavily armored enemies quicker. Grenades are tossed via the R shoulder button, and blow up enemies just as good as they ever have. You still have your knife for attacking enemies up-close, and even get a boxing glove on a spring if you duck and attack enemies close up too. I got a kick out of that. The heavy machine gun, enemy chaser, drop shot, shotgun, laser beam, and others return too, as does that great voice that says the name of the weapon you got. My favorite being for the rocket launcher where he goes "RAWKET LAOUNCHAIR". There's only one Slug in the game- the Metal Slug, no animal buddies here unfortuantely. And blood didn't make it into the game for some reason. Here it's already rated Teen, yet the blood's gone. Eh, no big loss, but it added comedic value in the other games. Oh, and there's no score here either. While I don't care about that, NeoGeo purists will be freaking out when they realize this.

The graphics look identical to the other MS games in every way except for your character's running animation. Their legs aren't animated as well as the rest of them, but it doesn't matter. Everything looks fantastic. There's no slowdown to be found regardless of how many enemies are on screen or shooting at you. Backgrounds look great too. Check out the waterfalls. I have no complaints in this department, or the next. The music and sound effects of the game are equally good. Plug in the headphones to get the full effect of the music if you have a basic GBA since that single speaker doesn't allow you to hear everything. Knife-stabbing still sounds great, as does the screams of troops when you gun 'em down. And of course, explosions don't have any static in their sounds. It's all good here. RAWKET LAOUNCHAIR!

Metal Slug Advance isn't some cheap game they threw together in order to get somehing by SNK on the GBA. It holds its own, and feels like it should get its own number in the series. While it's only 5 levels, it took me a few days before I could really beat the game and have a good number of cards/prisoners saved. Again, it's not required, but that's where a lot of the replay lies. After beating the game, try it on hard mode without the rapid fire on and see how far you get. But if all else fails, try getting all the cards and prisoners. Some of them are harder to find than it seems. Get Metal Slug Advance while you still can. We all know how SNK's games are.

4-0 out of 5 stars something the GBA needed a long time ago...
This sort of shooter has long been among my favorite types of games, dating back specifically to since I first played Gunstar Heroes. The Metal Slugs have always been the biggest quarter-eaters to me at the arcade machines, and I've really fallen in love with the comical commando approach that these games have mixed in with the variety that all the levels have to offer.Metal Slug Advance does a good job of holding up these much-beloved parts of the series.

As with all the other Metal Slugs, you run around levels blasting the heck out of any and every enemy while rescuing hostages. The gameplay in this one is great, and the control, collision detection, etc. are all excellent quality. The graphics are on par with the arcade games--beatifully simple, yet well-animated pixel graphics. The music is typical for Metal Slugs, very well-fit to the game, but far from anything that was designed to sell soundtracks.

There are a few points about this game that bothered me, though:
(1) The game felt really short for a game that you don't play at the arcade. The "normal" mode has five levels plus the additional bonus dungeon that you get to mindlessly wander around while searching for cards.
(2) This game gives your character a health bar, which when reduced to zero kills your character.I personally am more used to Metal Slug X's one-hit death style and felt that the health bar allowed for some lousier level design and some accidental "cheap shots" on your character without developers worried about players getting irritated with cheap shots equalling death. This kinda detracted from the arcade-ish feel, and
(3) I found it particularly annoying that the game starts you back at the beginning of the section of the level you were playing when you died, rather than the beginning of the level. In other words, you get to take as many cracks as you want in a row at a boss until it is beaten. This took away from a lot of the challenge the game should offer
(4) There are only five bosses in this game (and I know at least one of them is borrowed from MSX), whereas similar games in the genre (see "Alien Hominid" and Treasure's upcoming "Gunstar Heroes Advance") are chock-full of fun bosses and minibosses.
(5) The power-up weapons don't do all that much for your character. There are plenty in this game, but I find that about half of them to be worth avoiding. In particular, I cannot think of any part of the game where either the drop shots or flame thrower were worth picking up.

But despite how much I wrote about the game's vices, I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable and would recommend it to any fan of the series or genre.

4-0 out of 5 stars Metal Slug on the GBA
One of the most fun and challenging games to play in the arcade way back when was SNK's Metal Slug.A 2-D side scroller similar to the old Contra games, you run and gun your way past hordes of challenging tanks and enemies until you reach a level boss. The game mechanics are almost identical to the classic game, as are the graphics despite instances of slowdown and a few drops in frame rate. The biggest con of Metal Slug Advance is what players new to the game will automatically notice. The learning curve is far from forgiving, as things go from easy to very, very hard rather quickly.Boss battles are the most challenging, and the most frustrating as new players will soon learn. Not to mention, the game is pretty short, but other than that you'll find some addictive and fun playability with Metal Slug. All in all, this is one classic game you really can't go too wrong with, but those new to the game should take fair warning before diving in.

4-0 out of 5 stars Metal Slug for anywhere
let me just say I love metal slug and game retains the basic feel of it. I got this on Christmas at first though I didn't even know they had a game like this out for GBA. I love this game though so let me get those gripes out. When you die the people you killed respon, and also the game is just to short. Now let's talk about good stuff the character model match the arcade version pretty good. I like the the metal slugs[metal slugs are the tanks can even be a air plane] there's only 3 so as for my favorite I don't have one. I love the story, but the game can become easy to hard. I like the collectible cards that change your attributes. So my advice is if you wan't to take metal slug on the road and you see this in the store get, but if you see the legend of Zelda and the minish cap choose wisely. other wise get this.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game, but sometimes a bit frustrating
This game is absolutely great. Its extremely fun running around and shooting and grenading and blowing things up all throughout the level. And although sometimes the levels are hard, they usually become quite easy to beat once you play them a few times. but them comes the tricky part. You spent a lot of time and effort to get to the boss. your doing just fine and it looks like you just might beat the boss. Then, when it looks like you've won, the boss goes wacko and promptly attempts a series of attacks which are practicly imposible to dodge. You die, the Mission Failed screen comes up, and you have to go through the level all over again.

This is what makes the game really frustrating for me and why I rated it a 4 even though it is exellent in every way. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

To help you start your Game Boy Advance collection, we've created this special bundle, which includes the games Fire Pro Wrestling , Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and selected accessories. With Fire Pro Wrestling, you can enter the ring solo--or with a friend for some tag-team action--and execute dozens of moves, holds, and throws. In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, players perform hundreds of complicated tricks for points, and can ride as T. Hawk or any of a dozen other pros in the game. We've also included an AC power adapter to help you save on batteries and a Worm Light Advance to help you play through those low-light situations.

The Game Boy platform (which includes the original unit, the Game Boy Pocket, and the Game Boy Color) came to market when most video game consoles had a life expectancy of just a few years. More than a decade later, the system is still going strong. How did the Game Boy successfully compete--and in some cases bury--an onslaught of faster, more powerful handheld and home console systems? Let us count the ways: affordability; a huge library of games that consistently made the most of the hardware's limitations; smart power management that extended battery life; and uncluttered controls. But perhaps it was the system's ultra-portable design that allowed devotees to play video games around their schedules, making it the must-have system for kids and adults alike.

Now the Game Boy Advance (or GBA, as it's already being called) comes to us with power that would have been unthinkable back in the day. The portable's 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former's 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying beeps and boops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitized stereo sound. The extra processing muscle also means you can network up to four Game Boy Advance units together, via the communication cable, for multiplayer fun off of one shared cartridge. Only two Game Boy Color units could link together, and each unit had to have its own copy of the game.

What's not being replaced, however, is the wide selection of Game Boy games. Because the Game Boy Advance system is backward-compatible, it will play its own line of colorful games--including such launch titles as Super Mario Advance, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Army Men Advance, High Heat Major League Baseball 2002, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2--as well as all of the monochrome and color games that have already been released for the previous Game Boy systems (nearly 500 in total). Players can view the older games in their smaller, originally square dimensions, or, with the touch of the shoulder button, expand the game to fit the GBA's larger screen. We tried enlarging the screen on a Game Boy Color edition of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and found that Mr. Hawk was much easier to see.

When you first pick up the system, you'll be amazed how lightweight it is. At fewer than 5 ounces and a little larger than a deck of playing cards, the system easily fits into a shirt pocket without any sag. The GBA's wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands. The former design too often pushed the left and right thumb knuckles together during gameplay. The new layout should be comfortable for all ages, and the center screen orientation makes it easy to see.

Game Boy Color owners will find the GBA's larger screen somewhat darker than they're used to, but that's because the screen is outfitted with antiglare technology. Like the old Game Boy Color, the color LCD is not backlit, so you need pretty good light to play by. Unlike that system, though, you won't be craning your neck and tilting the unit to see around the hot-spot reflection of the light bulb in your screen.

But you'll also notice the graphics. Sporting what's basically a redesigned SNES technology, you'll see things on the GBA that you'd see on the big consoles, such as scaling (making objects larger or smaller) and rotation effects--technological advances that will affect the look of everything from crossing a finish line to throwing a touchdown pass to crawling through a dungeon.

Some might argue that Nintendo could have put even more power into the Game Boy Advance. After all, the 32-bit video game had its heyday more than five years ago. Perhaps, but after handling this new handheld, we're inclined to think that Nintendo wisely struck a balance between size, price, and power consumption. And considering how well the old 8-bit system weathered the decade's technological storms, we think the Game Boy Advance is here to stay, and we're glad. --Porter B. Hall

5-0 out of 5 stars THE COOLEST
This is the coolest thing! My friend just got one for his birthday and it's neat! I haven't played tony hawk on gba yet, but I played it on N64 and it was the chad!

3-0 out of 5 stars Happy with GBA and TH2, forget the rest
As a Nintendo fan I was happy to see this unit come out. However, stay away from this bundle. The light unit and the power back can be bought seperately for less than the cumulatice price of the bundle and the wrestling game is just not fun.My advice get the GBA and Tony Hawk 2, just don't buy it in this package deal!

2-0 out of 5 stars Much ado about nothing!
As an avid Nintendo fan, I was really excited about purchasing a Game Boy Advance this summer. So I got one, and was thoroughly disappointed. Not that the games aren't awesome and the graphics aren't smooth.I am disappointed that the screen is so difficult to see.Without a wormlight or other illumination, the screen of the Game Boy Advance is too dark to facilitate gameplay.Nintendo says they didn't include a backlit screen because it would have drained the batteries too quickly. They should have built in rechargable batteries and gone with the backlit screen.I am highly disappointed with my Game Boy Advance.Save your money. If you just HAVE to get one, Pelican sells a hooded light that also doubles as a screen protector. That gives you the brightest light with the least amount of glare on the screen. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A good direction for Sonic!
(How long have a played this game, I think the record place said 96 hours or something like that!) I was suprised to hear that Sonic was getting a fighter for the Gameboy Advance, quite different from the "run to the goal" Advance series. Personaly, I like fighting games (not the bloody ones, but you know, the Super Smash Bros. types), and had very high expectations for this game. It satisified them with high action fighting and a challening story mode. In this game you can play as a variety of characters from the Sonic universe: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Amy, Cream, and the unlockabel E-102, and Chaos. You can also play as Emerl. One thing I like about this game is that there seems to be no "Strongest" character (excuding a super experianced Emerl), it all depends on fighing style (Tails and Cream work best for me). The fact you can actuall heal is cool too, as is the fact you can customize your special attacks. In Story Mode, you have to follow the story line and battle set characters, in battle, you earn cards whihc represent different attacks from the characters you fought, and skill points. If you press R to go to the customize screen you can teach Emerl these attackes if you have enough skill points. There are even altra rare ultimate attackes! When you first boot up Sonic Battle, you can only play "Sonic's story" in Story Mode, once you beat it however, you earn Tails "episode", then Rouge's episode, ect. Every character has an episode except E-102 and Chaos. Battle Mode is my fav. Play a battle on any stage, with any characters, with many customizable rules. Challenge mode is where you battle five set rounds to earn the most piont possible. Minigames are also included, though only one is single player. My only complaint is that you can't do the "virtuall training" you encounter in Emerl's episode with anyone but him. The reason I gave duribility (can you even see that rating, it made me do it and educational value [which this game does not have] when I reviewed it - it didn't make me with any other game, weird) 3 stars is that it has a variety of bad gliches, having special attacks and healing stop working is the most often occuring one. Once however, it almost deleted all my data by itself. But, these gliches could be (and probably are) a result of my playing for 96 or so hours. i recommend this game to anyone who owns a Gameboy Advance, whether you're a sonic fan or not!

4-0 out of 5 stars The blue spiky thing does it again!
When I first got a chance to play this game, I thought after seeing the intro (which was really none) that this was going to suck.Boy this shut me up.In this game, you can battle up to 3 other people with punches, kicks, and if you're Shadow (who really is something else), fire energy pulses. The action is fast-paced, but one problem I had is that the special attack meter takes too long to fill, the AI seems to hunt the player down every game, and its relatively easy to defeat an opponent with a combo into a wall-then slam to the ground-then a knockback attack. But either way, this game is rather addictive and worth the buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A much-needed breath of fresh air!
As a former video game zealot from my childhood and who became increasingly disillusioned at how grim, and violent that so many video games have become (Men of Honor? Give me a break! That's just something to turn our kids into possible soldiers) but 2003's "Sonic Battle" however is a major relief and gives me hope of more of the harmless fun that made video games so much fun and great escape entertainment!

While the games I played were historically adventure games (which I generally prefer), this game combines the adventure genre with battle genre and this game almost combines the X vs. X styles of "Mortal Kombat" minus the blood with the light-hearted fun of the Sonic games of old and the results are absolutely amazing! The music is awesome as well and if I could hook it up to a stereo, one could possibly get better music than what radio stations can offer these days.

There are many modes. The first is the story mode where the game starts in Emerald Town with Sonic and Tails finding a mysterious robot on Emerald Beach. Little do they know that this robot is actually a product of the evil Dr. Eggman (Dr. Robotnik from the old games but now known as Eggman) who threw it out believing that it was just a piece of junk. But this robot is powered by Chaos Emeralds. The game just gets more fun from here onwards. More characters eventually come in including some that I've never even seen or heard of before.

Battle Mode is a different mode where you can select any character to play including 'evil' characters to battle against three competitors including 'clones'. "Battle Mode" can be played alone or against other players as well. This one is a lot fun.

Challenge Mode involves making lots of points when taking into account how quickly the competitor is defeated, how much damage is done, rate of offensive attacks hitting it's target, etcetera.

Mini-games is a totally separate area from the otehr modes in which miniature games are played. The only solitary player game in this area is the Mine-Dig starring Knuckles the Echidna and it is played in the same what that the computer game Minesweeper is played in which Knuckles must uncover the squares but not the ones containing mines.

"Sonic Battle" is a welcome return for my favorite video game franchise ever. Go and buy it today! Even adults might enjoy this game as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars 1 million thumbs up for Sonic Battle!!
My very faveorite Sonic game for gameboy advance! This is not your normal "Run through the zone and get to the goal ring" Sonic game. It is a battling game. It has tons of great adventures. The graphics are awesome, and so is the sound. There is a new Sonic charecter named "Emerl" the robot. You can customize his fighting skills and make him very powerful. This game is another A+ Sonic game to add to the collection!

4-0 out of 5 stars Sonic's First Cool GBA Game
Finally, none of that running at high speeds and collecting coins. There's action. I like Shadow, because whenever I'm Sonic against my friend, I lose. Rouge=lose, Amy=lose, Shadow=win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for beginners and veterans. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I think this game is great. Me and my friend got this game and we both love it. We both started out as an archer and even though my friend got it 5 months beore me. He is only at fairy spring and has only done 1 side quest I am at Hotshek volcano and have done all the side quests up to that point besides the two hidden dungeons. It has only one con. The cons are that important conversasions you have to wait. I have heard that people dislike the storyline but I don't really think its bad and if I did I wouldn't care. I have never played the first game but that does not make a diffrence.

Graphics 9 out of 10 Pretty good. The soul powers are awsome.

Gameplay 10 out of 10 The controls are very easy to understand.

Replayabitlity Limitless You have 9 characters (8 normal one secret)that are customizable in abot a million ways each.

Secret You can go through the wall on the right side of the red shoe girl's wall then there is a passage way where yo go through 2 more walls when you get to the second one go up.
Music ? I turn music off

I really love this game

4-0 out of 5 stars A portable diablo game.
This game is good for people who most likely to spend your hours hack and slashin' enemies and baddies, and love to see your character level up. Why I said this is a portable Diablo game, was because they have over 100 generated items, it's really fun to see your equip get stronger and stronger as you buy weapons/armor from the stores. If you are a gamer who likes a good storyline, I recommend you don't buy this, because this has a crappy story, you will not enjoy it, dialogs are slow, but if you are a gamer who likes to play, not caring about the story, this game is for you, 18 levels to beat up baddies, it can get repetitive going to the same dungeons with the dialog and all. I recommend this game to most people.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome
I was getting my GBA and decided to pick this up as my first game.I hadn't played the first one and didn't know anything about it.But then I started playing it and loved it.The story starts out with your character going to some tournement but the king ends up sending you on a journey to save the princess. Then once youv'e gone through a few levels and save the princess the story goes on.One complaint I have is once you load a save file and forget to save again your all the way at the begining of the dungeon again. If this happens you get more and more experience but you have to play the level again and it makes the bosses way to easy.I havnet really listened to the music cause I keep the sound off but when I did hear the music it's not that bad. This game is great so if you like hack n slash games this game is a good on to have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Item Description
Shining Soul II arrives on the GBA with more expansive content and features than its predecessor. Become a mighty Brawler, Priestess, Dark Wizard, Ninja or others for a total of 8 character classes. Each character has certain strengths and weaknesses that can mean the difference between victory and defeat in the exciting co-op multiplayer mode. Enter the Royal Coliseum and challenge the computer or your friends in a battle for special items and glory!

This is a great game and totally worth buying.

4-0 out of 5 stars Shining through the Ages
This game is heaps of fun.I could play for hours and hours and actually found myself doing just that.If you don't mind returning to town all the time to buy more health drops and to sell off extraneous items, this game is a must buy.The only qualm I had was that it seemed at times monsters could attack you from a diagonal but you couldn't hit them.Maybe just a bug or a quirk.Either way, fun, fun, fun. Finally, levels are easy to gain and the variety of weapons and items make the game a little more enjoyable. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Sonic Advance 3-a must-have for Sonic fans!!
Excellent graphics and is very entertaining! Exciting gameplay and cool levels. Fun for everyone! This game has good music and you can partner up with different Sonic characters- like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and Amy. Although some bosses are difficult to defeat, it is a very good game overall.

5-0 out of 5 stars good
all the sonic games are pretty much the same. you run through a maze of loops, ramps, cannons (ect.)and always do a stunt or two, and have explosive bosses. this game is pretty much the same. i suggest you get this game if you're a sonic fan, but i wish that all the games woul'nt be the same.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good? Maybe. Long? Very.
Sonic Advance 3 is the long anticipated sequel of the already popuLar Sonic Advance series. Sonic Advance 2 was longer, funner and more challenging and Sonic Advance 3 takes the formula a little longer.

You select a partner to help you in this game, varying from partner to partner there is Speed, Fly and Power formations which are different to each set of partners. They all make the game harder, easier, funner or more challenging. ALso the character that you control, the char. you control varies between partners. It is quite fun to play with the different combos.

Ah yes, the game would be twice as more fun if you haven't played Sonic Advance 2 immensly like me and got a habit of using the R stunts; they're back but not compatible with every partner team.

If you love a game that takes a long time to beat and has replayability, this game is for you!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Game
This game gets complicated when you first start but overall the game is great.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sonic Advance 3, Best of all of em!!!
Ithink that it is the best out of all of them because it has now got a partnership going on.This is when you hold down R and a tagteam system starts. This is cool cause you can get things like a speed boost from sonic, or you can go up in the air with tails.Right now i am on zone 5, stage two. It is really hard when you get to the water bit cause you always drown.I am also wondering when you get to be another character cause right now i'm only sonic or tails. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The older DK with better graphics
This game is really fun with good graphics. It is like the older one but with more stuff and different story line. Instead of saving Peach you save these Mini Mario Toys from Donkey Kong. The levels are challenging for people who aren't hard core gamers. Gamers might think it to easy. I'm enbetween and I enjoy playing it.

3-0 out of 5 stars It was nice... I guess
Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a nice game, nothing really special. I've played better Mario games in the past. The game play was okay and the game itself gets boring after a while. I don't own the game myself (I've only played it from my older brother). But, I wouldn't really recommend it if you're really looking for one of those pick up and play games.

1-0 out of 5 stars BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS THE WORST MARIO GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's to easy to beat and it's boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Don't buy this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars This is why you don't outsource your intellectual property.
So... Mario vs Donkey Kong. Nintendo's latest shameless capitalization of a once-venerable series of games. I bit the bullet and started playing this recently, curiosity winning out over the recent experiences with Mario-branded games. Despite such tragedies of game design of the last 10 years like Mario Sunshine and Wario World, I still harbor warm feelings for the Mario games of the late 20th century, forgetting time and again that as their management and lead designers age and stagnate, fun, clever, original games like those are seemingly forever in Nintendo's past.

The game started out alright, an interesting puzzle-focused twist on the main-sequence Super Mario series... they eliminated the venerable stomping-enemies-and-grabbing-power-ups formula, and replaced it entirely with simple logic puzzles in underwhelming levels usually no larger than two screens' worth. You can still jump around, but Mario's jumping range is no higher than about twice his height, which for Mario is absolutely pathetic. He also moves at a constant rate of speed no matter how long he's been running, making nimble jumps practically impossible, and skids randomly when he stops; I found myself constantly plunging into crevasses and falling off cliffs, wondering with utterly genuine surprise and confusion why the character was receiving commands I wasn't inputting. Probably the biggest sin of all, though, is the ludicrously short distance he can fall before pancaking on the ground and whining like a toddler. And if you're falling while holding something, he'll pitch the item across the screen once you've fallen a certain distance, forcing you to retrieve it once he's done feeling sorry for himself.

Also, Mario's got the same voice actor they've been using in Mario games for years, Charles Martinet, who produces an entirely testicle-free whiny broken falsetto soaked in an Italian accent that rings less authentically than a Wichita Godfather's Pizza commercial. After maybe 20 minutes of gameplay, I was nearly in tears, begging the gods of video games to make him shut up... even if you're Mother Teresa, you can only really hear that "Mama Mia!" croon a limited number of times before a primal urge to exterminate mankind kicks in. And god help you if you let the rescued mini-Marios fall off the screen on the Mini Mario levels: until you retrieve all of them, which can sometimes take a while, they'll continuously shriek "Oh, Mario!" every second or so like starving lupine infants, producing a sensation that I can only describe as cannibalistic rage mixed with crippling nausea. One of the biggest letdowns in the game is the inability to pitch these mewling little parasites into an active caldera, forever silencing their demonic little voices.

Donkey Kong himself is probably the strangest part of the game, though. During the opening cinematic, we see DK sitting on his fat simian butt in his house, flipping idly through channels, until he sees a commercial advertising some kind of weird mini Mario dolls. Then, suddenly, hearts appear in DK's eyes. I am not making this up. It appears to anyone with more than one digit in their age that Donkey Kong is either harboring a secret lust for everyone's favorite effeminate plumber, or has a sick fetish for plushie toys. The latter becomes evident as we see DK break into the factory and steal one sack full of mini-Marios, crippling the entire toy doll industry. Apparently in their panic, the ubiquitous, androgenous little toadstool slaves forgot they could just turn the machines back on and... uh, you know.... just, uh, make more. Instead, Mario comes to the rescue and follows DK through six worlds of improbable puzzles, rescuing one mini Mario on every level.

So yeah, yet another failed opportunity to restore the Mario franchise to some mote of its former glory.I'm sure Nintendo won't care as it'll still undoubtedly make them money, but it's yet another shovel working to dig their corporate grave.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mario vs. Donkey Kong
This game is mostly about Donkey Kong trying to steal Mini Mario toys. Mario goes through 6 levels with 6 courses a Mini Mario course and a Donkey Kong course. Here are my ratings:
Music-10/10 its cool
Gamplay-10/10 good
Hardness-8/10 its pretty tough
Funness-10/10 you will love it

5-0 out of 5 stars travel tested - luv it
well, I have my case for over a year now and it's still working
I travel a lot, expecially by plane and I think everybody knows what that means...
I'm used to have my GBA in my hand luggage and so it needed some kind of protecion.
This mini case is perfect!
I can carry 2 games with it (3 if you leave one IN the GBA) and until now it never opend by itself.
My GBA got no damages after all the checking it got at every airport I've been.
Also, because of all the stress at airports nowadays, it's quite normal (for me *gg*) to accidentally drop my purse. Even so neither the GBA nor the case itself got ANY damage.

I really recommend it

5-0 out of 5 stars Bling for your SP!
I was recently gifted with an ultra-cool Pearl Pink Game Boy SP from Japan to fulfill my girlish desires for gaming fun and sparkle at the same time. I love it...and what better to put my Girlie Girl SP in but this cool metal case?
It is a perfect square, and has room for storing a game or two underneath the Game Boy. Even better, it comes with a strap, so you can give Paris Hilton a run for her money with your *hot* new purse. Now you will never be without your favorite boredom killer with this convenient and safe way to bring your SP with you. If you just need to store your SP, you can choose any old nylon or vinyl case, but if you want to carry your SP with style and flare, you must get this!

(Oh, and for boys, it's all cool and metal and stuff and you'll be really manly and cool if you get it!) ;)

5-0 out of 5 stars The safest thing for a GBA SP
This toy is the safest thing for a GBA SP because if you dropped it from about six feet and opened the case, it wuold be in the same condition as it was when you put it in. Perfect for travle or keeping it safe in your room in storage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not really that large, perfect for GBA.
Intec made an awesome case here. The SP fits in snugly with the ability to put about 3 more games inside. The hard shell protects the GBA from all the abuse you can hand out, without compromising the contents inside. It is a bit bigger then the smallest GBA case out there, but it still fits in the palm of your hand. I keep my GBA in my school backpack for my time between college classes. I have some heavy books, and this has protected it, and gotten through it not too badly. Definitely pick it up!

5-0 out of 5 stars great for travel....
I bought this for my Gameboy Advance SP and it works really well for those who would like to use it for astorage place or for someone (like me) who travels alot. It has protected mine many times, but may not be good for carring around the neck. This is not safe to use in this manner. It's cute and I love mine. I've heard people say some bad things about it, but if you're going to use it for a protective purpose or travel this is perfect for you and great investment for your money. Fits perfectly in suitcase and totebags and I've found it fits great in childrens backpacks and some Lady purses. Highly reccomend this. I also have the Gamers case that looks like this one, but only bigger. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good?!
i'm a real dbz fan and this game is sorta good. the graphics are great and you can play as dr. gero android#17,18 and other players and the androids have unlimited power but i think it's bad because it is so easy to beat. you can buy the characters at the shop icon but i think buu's fury is better than this game. you can also use spirit bomb, instant transmission the kamehameha wave turn your opponents to chocolate with majin buu and use final flash with vegeta. the only fused character is gotenks and you can't use calick gun in this one.that's why i made it a 3 star rating

5-0 out of 5 stars Supersonic Warriors is a must buy
Ahh, Dragonball Z. Originally a cartoon television show starring Goku, a Saiyan warrior, along with a ton of other good and bad characters, it's morphed (like the greedy little capitalist machine it is) into many differrent catagories. Now even the Gameboy Advance has a few titles; most recently, the fighting game known as DBZ: Supersonic Warriors. And you know what? Hands down, this is the best fighting game for the Gameboy Advance, period. Proving that you don't have to simply mirror the Street Fighter franchise, developer's Banpresto did an excellent job turning what could have been a minimal button masher into a worthy title for any fighting gamer, DBZ fan or not. You've got multiple game modes (the best being a story mode), repeat value (as you win with a character, your strength/ability grows) and a gradual learning curve. Random, repetitive fingers may win the beginning fights, but you'll quickly learn it takes skill to overcome the later challengers. Most of the characters are pretty solid, but like any fighting game, you'll probably stick to using the same 2-3 guys. Most importantly, the visuals really shine on this game, and the sound is pretty good as well. Fighting fans: Supersonic Warriors is a must buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome!!!!!!
i was vegeta and i ruled the universe and beat the baddies and it was AWESOME-i shot some sweet beams at all the emenies and they died and i was super sayan and the kamayamayas are fun and they light up my life and when i beat it it showed secret characters like goku rolling around on a bucket of teryaki chicken. FIGHT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!-sometimes i put on my mask of bulma while i play and pretend i am IN THE GAME.

KAMAYAMAYA BEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars The best DBZ game yet for GBA!!!!!!
Of course lots of you know that most of the best
Dragonball z games are coming out for Gba. Supersonic Warriors
my favorite character is vegeta especally majin Vegeta. This is long though I beat all the storys, but I still have not got all the items and my batteries wore out. My favorite attack though that I gotta admittGoku's spirit bomb
and just to let you in on a secert it takes away more when your in kaioken 100% hold r then press L he will then turn red in this form Goku can keep up with anyone. Highest level you reach in this game is ssj3 gotenks all the rest of character can only go ssj2 I don't know about Trunks. You also get mystic Gohan oh yeah if you got the poster on the back it says that Buu's fury is coming out Octber on my Taiketsu review I said September sorry for the wrong info. You diffently have to get this game though. oh yeah I got mine in July I think the 27th I was one of the first to get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a non-stop match for the fate of the universe...
This is a great game with several alternate endings to one of my favorite tv series, Dragonball Z, it covers everything from the end of the namakian saga ( frieza and ginyu ) to the buu saga.Lots of fun and worth buying.Practice to be the best and earn new levels and characters. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MARIO!!!!!!
WOW!! This is a good game and has a looooooot of games!!!! I like this game!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars good game
I don't own this game, but i have played it before and I'd say a 4 out of 5 stars, sure you start out as easy but as you advance,u unlock more games new and old and harder settings such as meduim, hard and if you think you can handle it,super hard...yes there are four settings instead of one.

I personally love the little sounds and music this game has to offer, and a game gets harder as you progress.

If you think this game is for kiddies...then I'd have to say your wrong ;)

2-0 out of 5 stars Ripofffor the old folks who played it and are now rich
This is just a money ripper aimed at kids from the 80's who have played these. Some of them are now rich, feel nostalgic about their childhood, and must get this game. The ones don't have much money still buy it by only eating once a day for about a week.

3-0 out of 5 stars I liked it.........For a while
I will admit that I enjoyed this game for around a week or so. The gameplay was repititous, and took alot more time than I would take to finish the levels. I still play it on and off, although I paid $40 for the dang thing(wish I would have checked amazon.com before making that splurge)

4-0 out of 5 stars Just got this game !!!
I really loved the Game and Watch of the yesteryears. So it was exciting that they have this for the Gameboy. But the only thing is that I don't know how to save the high scores or get the stars to unlock the other games. The instruction of the game tells me that all I have to do is to press start during the game and to turn off the unit.Nothing happens.
I don't know if I bought a defective game or something.
Please help. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Game Of Great Value
WoW! THERE IS VERY FEW BAD THINGS ABOUT THIS GAME! This game kinda reminds me of nba street! The only differences are the fact that you can not create players there are not as many characters and modes but then again NBA Street is for gamecube so this game is realy graet for a Gameboyadvance. Some of the good quialitys about this game is the fact that u have tournaments and u can win prizes when u win. I think this game as farly good graphics but as for game play it takes a little while to get used to the biotton confrontige but once u get used to it its gret. They've even put in trick points, tricks and trick combos and trick-dunk combo points. The game resimbles NBA Street except for a few miner details. One mager flaw is there is no create player, wich i love to do, butI'm willing to give it up for this game is great.Overall this game is an incredible game. You might be able to win carecters but im not sure because i have only beatin two tournaments buy i have played practice and thats how i know its so great. You should defintly buy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars great model small enough for SP models of GBA
ok i own a older model from a company not really affiliated with nintendo, it works ok for the older GBAs, but i also own a GBA/SP model and it jams the sholder buttons. this model directly from nintendo is small enough to fit between the buttons on a SP model *great for Zelda:FSA *Four Swords Adventures* and still big enough to fit on the older models.

5-0 out of 5 stars It makes a HUGE difference...
When it comes to the GC/GBA Cable. You wouldnt think that something this inexpensive could make a difference in the way you play video games. But it does it unlocks secrets of all kinds in Gamecube games, sometimes it gives you access to secret areas/maps/items and various other thing.

Depending on the game and what features it opens up.Plus it is cheap to get and once you've gotten this wonderful item. You will wonder why you didnt get it sooner.I know from my own experience.

4-0 out of 5 stars advance cable
The Nintendo GC/GB Advance Cable adds some new features to some of its systems' most popular games. Although I do not own every game this item enhances, I do own a few.

From what I have played (Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Harvest Moon, ect) this product has provided just a little more fun. Although it is not a gaming essential, die-hard Nintendo fans of both the portable and non-portable systems will definitely want to buy this item and explore new options provided by the cable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good
It's a very good product but it only can be shipped within U.S., so I can't buy it

5-0 out of 5 stars a suggestion
if you plan on getting at least two of these i suggest you buy final fantasy crystal chronicles and then how ever many more of these you need because the game comes with a FREE gamecube/gba cable...and then the game rox anyways =) *obviously* only get this if you have a game boy advance (or the person your giving it to has 1 =D) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A fun game
This game is fun and has good graphics I recomend it for people who think a lot of games are to hard. This game might be toeasy for hard core gamers but kids will enjoy it. Once you figure it out it's kind of easy but I think it's my favorite game for GBA so far. Get it if you like BK games.

5-0 out of 5 stars nice addition to the banjo-kazooie series
Well I love the original two for the N64 and when I saw all these great reviews for the game when I first read them,I decided to buy it...

and boy was it worth it!

The graphics are beautiful, the music, voices, and sound effects are what you'd expect from a banjo-kazooie game(which are good)and the gameplay is wonderful! There's races you compete in,time trials and the works, just like in the other two for the 64. I highly recomend this game for you to add to your collection, and if you loved the other two banjo-kazooie games, you're more than likely going to love this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS BY FAR THE VERY WORST BANGO KAZOOIE GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE. BECAUSE OF THIS GAME I AM NEVER BUYING ABSOLUTELY NONE OF BANGO KAZOOIE MERCHANDISE.PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS, I BEG OF YOU. YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY. I WOULD GIVE IT NO STARS AT ALL BUT THE LOWEST I COULD DO IS ONE STAR.

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting
when i first got this game, i didn't know what to expect. A Banjo-Kazooie game for GBA? Surely it couldn't be that much fun. I had long been awaiting another sequal to the game. And i found out there had already been 2 made. This, and one that hasn't been released yet, called "Banjo Pilot", a racing game. This game was more fun than I had ever expected it to be. I had very impressive graphics for a hand-held console. And the plot itself was very impressive. Overall, the game was very enjoyable.

Amazon.com Review

One of the best side-scrolling game franchises makes a successful debuton the Game Boy Advance in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. This timearound you follow the adventures of Nathan Graves as he attempts to stop therecently resurrected Dracula. In the fine tradition of Castlevania vampirehunters, Graves carries a whip as his primary weapon, and will soon discover thetraditional secondary weapons of holy water, dagger, boomerang, time freeze, andmore. New to the series is the dual set-up system (DSS), which allows you to use20 cards (randomly found) for up to 80 power-ups.

The game plays like a side-scrolling classic without seeming too dated. Playerstraipse around a nonlinear dungeon, defeat monsters, and unlock new parts of thedungeon, often through the use of new abilities. It's similar to the excellentCastlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PlayStation, with the obviousaural limitations of a cartridge-based handheld system.

Unfortunately, the game's dark graphics are difficult to see on the Game BoyAdvance's fickle screen. Long sessions require consistent overhead lighting, sothis isn't the ideal game for travel. The animations are also lacking, makingcharacter movement appear jerky. Despite these graphics shortcomings, thisside-scrolling wonder makes a fine addition to your GBA library. --Raymond M.Padilla

Pros:

  • Classic gameplay
  • High replay value
  • Great sound for a handheld game
Cons:
  • Dark graphics are butchered by the GBA screen
  • Mediocre animation

5-0 out of 5 stars Challenging and dark Castlevania game.
This game is just plain old fun. Its very challenging, unlike most other new Castlevania games, and really gets you into the adventure.

The special items you can obtain all make the game more interesting and the magic and card system just plain rocks.
You can change your whip into fire/ice whips, get magical swords and even summon a dozen monsters to help you.
The card system is what really makes this game shine.

Pick this game up if you really want a fun and exciting dark adventure, but be warned that this game requires a bit of skill to get through as it very tough.

5-0 out of 5 stars The First GBA CV Game Remains, Arguably, Its Best
"Castlevania: Circle of the Moon" (CotM) was one of the first games to be released for the Game Boy Advance.Borrowing elements from the unexpected hit, "Symphony of the Night," K.C.E.K. (the Konami division responsible for the N64 Castlevania games) has created a familiar, yet still totally enjoyable, Castlevania game, and arguably the best of the 3 for the Gameboy Advance (the other two being "Harmony of Dissonance" and "Aria of Sorrow").

Story: Castlevania has a rich history when analyzed deeply beyond the games; though, the actual storylines in the games take a backseat to other elements.CotM sets up a plot in the beginning, has bits and pieces interspersed after major events in the game, and resolves it all in the end.The year is 1830.Rather than having Dracula resurrect naturally, a dark priestess named Carmilla resurrects him pre-maturely, and seeks the full-regeneration of the Dark Lord's powers by using the life essence of a captured vampire hunter, Morris Baldwin. His two disciples, Hugh Baldwin (the son of Morris) and Nathan Graves, are given the task of saving their master, and destroying the Count, too.You take the role of Nathan Graves, and will meet up with several characters in your adventure through the Castle. The storyline is nothing deep or engrossing, but, it's definitely far from horrible, and decently entertaining.
~ 7.0/10

Gameplay: Wonderful. It's kind of like SotN, but with a whip, though still not as silky-smooth.The controls allow you to change direction while whipping in mid-air, too.Nathan doesn't have any fancy moves like "Juste-dash" to get around faster, but you can double tap the d-pad to make him run once obtaining the specific item, and this is more than adequate.Nathan can spin his whip around when the attack button is held down to deflect projectiles and do quick damage. Also going along with SotN, you will obtain certain relics while progressing through the Castle, which help you explore new areas.Items include the "Tackle," which allows you to smash through stone blocks, and the "Roc's Feather," which lets you perform a Moon-Jump (this was introduced in SotN).CotM is also the innovator for the "Gameplay Gimmicks" in the recent Castlevania games, such as AoS's Tactical Soul system.CotM's is called the DSS, where certain enemies will drop cards (either Action or Attribute cards), twenty in all, and you can combine them to create different effects. For example, combining the Mars and Mandragora cards lets you use a huge sword that shoots out a cloud of poisonous roses for extra range, while also increasing your attack power. You can also create a small rotating set of flames around your body to ward off attacks, make your whip double its reach, and much, much more. All in all, I would say it's the smartest of any of the systems used in any Castlevania.Almost nothing is useless, and has its own advantages, unlike AoS's myriad of pointless souls, and "Lament of Innocence"'s and "Harmony of Dissonance"'s number of useless attacks.Like the other "Castleroids," you'll collect armor and accessories to equip on your character. Most of the equipment is quite useful, and almost all (except for one certain armor) are dropped by enemies to make collecting them harder and more rewarding.Healing items are rare, and there is no merchant this time around, forcing the player to rely on his/her wit and skill, rather than copious amount of potions and such, making the game a lot more challenging and, consequently, fun.
~ 9.25/10

Level Design: The best out of the three GBA titles. There is a huge emphasis on platforming in this game.Rather than making the main challenge be getting past enemies, like in games such as AoS and HoD, CotM also forces you to battle with your environment. To be sure, there are loads of tight spots, like the Machine Tower's layout, with its constantly moving platforms and electrically charged ceilings, and most noticably in the last area, the Observatory Tower (made even harder, considering the the abundance of super enemies). Most of the rooms are completely different in their layout, and this gives the game a fresh feeling throughout, since you are constantly presented with unexpected challenges. There is the occasional puzzle, such as the Underground Waterway's switches, or the box puzzles in the Underground Warehouse. It's very nice that the game makes you think beyond, "How do I kill this next enemy?", and I hope this amount of level interactivity is reproduced more often in future Castlevania games.
~ 9.5/10

Graphics: Though not as flashy and detail-filled as AoS, CotM exudes its own certain charm, reminiscent of Super Castlevania 4.Whereas HoD and AoS seemed to feel more contained and small, CotM is full of huge rooms and corridors, chock full of grand expanses of spooky skies, spires, and dark, towering pillars. While being pretty basic in terms of the "Ooh-Aah" factor, CotM has plenty of superb atmosphere that comes from its well-realized dark nature in its dark color composition and abundance of gothic architecture.Multi-scrolling in the backgrounds is minimal, and I wish the developers had spent more time on this to create more of a sense of dimension, but what is here I found to be particularly intriguing and more than adequate.Pack a GBA SP or DS, though, when you play this, as playing it on the GBA renders the graphics too dark to see.Nathan's sprite could have used more frames of animation, but his animation is decent and, for the most part, believable.I found the enemies in this game to be especially charming. You won't find multi-segmented beasts like HoD's Living Armors, or stunningly weird denizens like AoS's Stolas, but, rather, beasts that seem to be more realistic and organic, with its anthropomorphic creatures like the Were-jaguars and Fox Archers, or the humanoid bunches of armored knights.None of them will really blow you away graphically, but I found them all to be interesting and fun to see in action. They, too, though, could have stood to have more frames of animation. The special effects in CotM are nice, concerning the use of your DSS cards to create new attacks. There are all sorts of fun things, like the giant hammer, or flaming sword.Again, they all get the job done, but are nothing incredible.
~ 8.25/10

Sound: This is one of the high points of CotM.It's made all the more incredible by the fact that this was one of the first-gen games for the GBA.Quality-wise, it's on par with some of the highest quality soundtracks on the SNES; compositional-wise, it's on par with some of the highest quality soundtracks for video games, period.Rather than follow the trend of most Castlevanias and introduce totally new soundtracks, with perhaps one of two older tunes remixed, CotM opts for having a majority of its music be comprised of some of the greatest Castlevania tunes, masterfully redone, and interspersing it with a few new powerful melodies that will not soon be forgotten. The start-up screen's song is very well done, taken straight from the PC's Japan-only Dracula X.The ghostly vocals will send chills down your back. The first area's music, "Awake," is one of the most memorable and impressive songs to ever be in a Castlevania; I'd rank it among the likes of "Dracula's Castle" and "Vampire Killer."It's no wonder the music in this game is so great, as the composer of Castlevania 4, Sotaro Tojima, is the composer for this one, too.Repeat performances include "Clockwork Mansion," which has an oddly psychadelic feel to it, "The Sinking Old Sanctuary," which is more upbeat this time around, and "Aquarius," another incomparable classic of the CV series. Then, there are new ones, like, as mentioned, "Awake," along with the heart-pounding final battle theme, "Proof of Blood," and one of the greatest ending songs for a Castlevania, "Repose of Souls."As far as sound effects are concerned, they're pretty minimal.Enemies generally are totally silent, and most of the sounds you'll be hearing are the yells and grunts of Nathan as he performs certain moves.More attention should have paid in this department of the sound. However, this is overlooked quite easily, as CotM is one of the best musical experiences on the GBA, if not THE best.
~ Music: 9.5/10
~ Sound Effects: 6.5/10

Replay Value: I've played through this game three times so far.The average player will probably find enough in this game to at least come back for a second helping, eventually. There usually are rooms you might have missed your first time through that you'll find your second or third romp through. And there are additional modes, such as "Magician, Mode" (which will allow you to start the game with higher magic power, but have your other stats lowered), helping to make the experiences of playing through multiple times more varied.Sadly, there is no "Hard" mode, which would have been a truly wonderful addition. The game will probably take a person familiar with the map a little more than 6 hours to beat (while also getting 100% of the map); however, for a first-timer, it will most likely take them ten or more hours.
~ 8.75/10

Satisfaction Value: CotM is also an extremely satisfying game.It makes you feel truly good about accomplishing certain things in it, such as beating a particularly tricky boss, or finding an item in a hidden spot.Like the "Metroid" series, CotM's satisfaction comes from the journey itself and the discoveries along the way, not the conclusion of everything...and what an engrossing and memorable journey it is.
~ 9.5/10

"Circle of the Moon" is a fitting end to K.C.E.K.'s Castlevania games, and remains one of the highest points of the series.Displaying near perfect controls, difficulty progression, atmosphere, sound, and more, it's one of the best games you can get for any hand-held system, and easily holds its own in this year, and will continue to do so.Konami's people are geniuses when it comes to creating instantly classic games.

~ Total (not an average): 9.5/10

5-0 out of 5 stars hard but gets better
I reccomend this game to good thinkers and people who likestrategy games and long action-fantasy games. I first had trouble with this game but then it became easier to play though some bosses are hard.(use Holy Water when facing the IRON GOLEM)I liked the story, and its better to use a GameBoyAdvanceSPor a regular GameBoyAdvance with a light to catch the good graphics. Its very hard to get all the dss cards(unicorn and black dog are gotten in the battle arena). To defeat Draculas second formI reccomendURANUS WITH THUNDERBIRD DSS CARDS.Its a very good game, so buy it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Ack!Weak game.
This was a shock to me.For one thing, this game was raved all across the internet. For another thing, I'm familiar with the series (as far back as the first three NES games, to the SNES one, and Symphony of the Night), so I thought this would like those.Well... the gameplay mechanics are here, it seems, but everything else...

Lets figure this out piece by piece.First, the graphics were okay.Even though they're dark, and even though they're a bit lacking in animation (only THREE frame to show the main character running??!), the style was okay, and it added to the environments.

The sound was nice, and the music was great, but everything here just seemed like it could be done much better (the music sounds a bit MIDI-ish, but the melodies are good).

The controls... here's where everything really goes down hill.I'm no stranger to the Castlevania control scheme, having playing the first four games. However, for reasons I cannot fathom, this game has by far the worst control setup of all of them (which says alot, because I've replayed the first three games recently, and they haven't aged that well).First, controling your character is much like controling a big wooden stick. While the same could be said for the first four games in the series, this game takes it to far worse extremes, especially when considering the enemies move so much better (in other words, they're attacks seem more suited to a game that has you moving your character as franticly as a Mega Man X or Mega Man Zero game). Also, the option to have the whip spin by itself became rather annoying.Unlike Castlevania 4, which allowed you to move the whip around by holding the attack button down, this one only makes it spin on it's own, which is somehow amazingly counter-productive.Some of the abilities are nice (high jump, wall jump, etc...), but they don't alieviate this problem much, and actually require over-utilization in some areas (trust me, you would never survive the final battle without high jump).

Now the gameplay.I've played other games that used the "Metroid-vania" style (free exploration, found in Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow, as far as the ones I've played).Somehow, this one takes that system and just makes you lost.Seriously, this castle was not as fun to explore as all of the others. The boss battles (mostly refering to the last 4) were super cheap, requiring me to over-use the DSS system to the most extreme, which was a far cry from the more "down to earth" battles from Castlevania 4 and Aria of Sorrow.Much as I enjoy difficulty, I can't stand not being able to have a clear shot at a target with my whip due to the enemy being over-sized or too quick to dodge.

This is by far one of my most hated Castlevania games. If you even think about buying this game (since a lot of other people liked it), I recommend you find a way to rent it first.Otherwise, you may get yourself into a snag like I did.Lucky for me, this was only $15 at K-Mart, which is about as low as GBA games get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
How do you spend a good time with your GBA?By picking up Konami's "Castlevania: Circle of the Moon".This is by far the best GBA game you can buy and with good reason. The launch title for the GBA is ranked among one of the best sellers on the GBA.

It isn't hard to see why this is a loved game. From the moment you pop this into your GBA you'll be swept off your feet by its AMAZING sound and incredible gameplay that goes unmatched by any other game out there!

The game begins when three vampire hunters corner Dracula.A master, his son and an apprentice. The master becomes imprisoned by Dracula and drops The son and apprentice into the depths of the castle below. Now, playing as the apprentice, Nathan Graves, you must explore the castle and find a way to get inside Dracula's chamber and stop the rite from happening!

Most noticeable about Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is its music.Anyone who's played this game can tell you that Circle of the Moon sounds INCREDIBLE!There is no GBA game that sounds this good out there. Some of the music is actually Orchastral and for the GBA that's amazing.

The second most noticeable thing about Circle of the Moon is the gameplay.Circle of the Moon incorporates an RPG style like gameplay. You run around with a whip that you use to attack enemies. For each enemy you kill you get experience points. When you get enough you level up and your HP and MP increases.

But the gold of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is in the DSS (Duel Set-up System). This is perhaps the most innovative game idea presented in a title like this. There are twenty DSS cards in the game. Those for elements, and those for attributes.Finding all twenty isn't an easy task since the enemies drop them at random. But incorporating this system into the game is what makes it fun.You select one element and one attribute and see what happens. The DSS presents about 100 combinations and some are very worthwhile to see.

The other part of the gameplay that presents itself well is the exploration. The castle you explore is huge and well constructed. As you defeat more bosses and acquire more abilities you can explore even more of the castle.Much like the Metroid games, you'll know when you can proceed and when you can't.If you come to an area you can't get to its obviously because you do not have the correct ability.

Castlevania doesn't have bad graphics. For a GBA launch title the overall presentation is good but unless you have a GBA SP its a little dark.On a normal GBA it was so dark sometimes that I'd take damage and didn't know what was hitting me.The animation is also on the shorthand side. But that shouldn't suggest that Circle of the Moon doesn't present itself rather well.

The game is also a good challenge. It is not an easy game to get through, and newcomers to the series will have some trouble. But a good challenge is a good thing. The game is not too easy but it really isn't all that hard either. The meat of the challenge comes from the bosses and in any game that's where the challenge should come from.

Perhaps the best part about Castlevania Circle of the Moon is the replay value. Most games lack this but Circle of the Moon makes it worthwhile by providing new modes. Each time you complete the game you unlock new modes.Magician Mode, Fighter Mode and Thief Mode. Each mode has its own strenghs and weaknesses. For example, in Magician Mode you start off with all the cards and a massive amount of MP but your attack, defense and HP are severely limited. In Fighter Mode you have incredible attack, defense and HP but you don't get any DSS cards. In thief mode you have incredible luck! This makes playing through the game a second, third or fourth time a completely different experience than before.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is perhaps the best GBA game out there. With superb sound and gameplay, this is easily a treat for any gamer and Castlevania fan.It stacks up perfectly to Symphony of the Night and more over, should be the Castlevania that all future titles on the GBA should be compared to.An awesome effort by Konami.

The Good
+Great gameplay
+DSS System is the best
+Good challenge
+Visually striking
+INCREDIBLE SOUNDTRACK. Among the best the GBA has to offer
+Of good lentgh
+Lots of exploration to do
+Good storyline
+Lots of replay

The Bad
-The graphics are dark on a normal GBA

That's actually the only con that sticks out.Enjoy, as this is as good as GBA games get.

5-0 out of 5 stars The ultimate action game
Wow this game is incredible. From wonderful graphics with great attention to detail, great sound affects, including in game speech, and non stop action. You couldn't ask for a better action game(maby better than doom). You explore massive interactive levels from a 3rd person view blasting gangsters and other mob members. Everything is interactable, the beds vibrate, yuo can listen to the radio, the toilets flush, the drug dealers in teh bathroom try to deal you some, you can open everything, and there is even a camera i nthe closet to spy on people. It is definatly for a mature audience. with lots of blood splatter and gore, sex scenes, drug dealers, and lots of strong language makes for a dirty game. If you love action you will love this, almost better than doom!

3-0 out of 5 stars An undercover cop ... after a gang?
Rockstar is one of the cruelest developing companies I've ever encountered in my video gaming life. This game is NOT for little kids. The story has things in it such as drugs, violence, sexual themes, bad bad words etc. When you see Rockstar as a 36 year old mother, think "Really Dangerous". I am pleading with all of the mothers and fathers out there: DO NOT GET THIS GAME FOR YOUR KIDS. If you're about 15 or 16, youshould know not to get yourself involved with all of these items found in the game, or you know how to handle yourself with them.

The game in itself is really good. For the story cinematics, they actually have VOICE OVERS along with the captions! I found that amazing. I find it fun to slow down the motion when in a huge room full of bad guys and just shoot them all down. While this might make it too easy, it's a lot of fun anyways. Blood goes everywhere. You have to think like an undercover cop whenever you're being shot. Do you slow down the motion with what limited slow down you have? Or do you take your chances and shoot him off, knowing you have little life left to live? There are several weapons to choose from, from a baseball bat to a sawed off shotgun to a grenade-like weapon (it's some sort of Russian explosive but I forget the name).

Overall, it is a great game. The story is rather sad(emotionally speaking), but it's good for a handheld game. The action never really gets old.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exallante
This was an exellent game! the graphics were awsome and so were the sound effects and weapon choices. everything was good except that if u didn't use the slowmo bullet time u lost to much health and u would die fast. if u are a blood and gore fan (i am) than don't turn the gore section off! i highly reccomend this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars A AWSOME GAME
Well I bought this game based on amazon users reviews. i was a little worried but I started and IT WAS AWSOME. The Graphics are great. OYEA and it has full voiceovers on the cutscens. Now the Bad. The only bad thing is the health. Unless you are using Slo-Mo (Bullet Time) You will usually lose about 1/6 of your health. Last the game is GORy WHICH IS AWSOME IF YOU ARE 12 or older but little ones should not play this game Overall 9 out of 10

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best handheld games ever
So, my GBA colletion is running short and so is my time to get a new game before my vaction. My brother who is a big time Max Payne fan suggested that I should preview it. I played it, I loved it, I bought it, end of story. Now that i'm done telling you my life story about buying this game time to tell you how good it is. The graphics aren't Ninga Gaiden here (in fact Mario probley has better) but it makes an easy game challeging. Despite that we have crapy graphics this game is the best PS2(XBOX) to GBA transfer. The control pad is a little bit of challenge so if your really not going for a car game you might have better luck with a GC GBA player. Gameplay is fun and easy giving beginers an easy vicory. However this game is very violate so little kids STAY AWAY. Over all it's grrrrrrrreeat ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Barbie Groovy Games
Barbie Groovy Games is a very entertaining game, but it gets boring after a while.First of all, I would have to say that this game is centered on young girls, as do most Barbie games. The graphics definitely present a girly theme. But, this is not your average Barbie game. There is no designing of Barbie's wardrobe invovlved. This is not another poor excuse for an action game where you have to manuver Barbie around with limited skills to use. This is a collection of fun mini-games to play by yourself or with a friend.
Many of the mini-games teach girls problem-solving and logic skills, which is very good. But, be aware that this is not a game that will have you hooked for months. It is just a fun little game to play with a friend.Listen to the words a friend. If you have more than one friend over your house this game will not be a good choice because only two people can play at once.I have summarized my review in the following list of pros and cons.

Pros:

It is one of the few games centered toward young girls.
It is more fun than the average Barbie game.
It teaches girls problem-solving and logic skills.
It is pretty entertaining, sometimes even to older girls.

Cons:

Boys will probably not want to even go near it, never mind play it.
It gets boring after a while.
It is not good if you have more than one friend over.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining and exciting for a 4-year old
We received this game yesterday and my 4-year old was a little frustrated at first because there are so many games, but once we maneuvered through it together, she easily got the hang of it and is already playing all of the games. She gets very excited when she "wins" and I think this game would be just as entertaining for an older girl as well. Having nine games, they can move onto another when they get bored with or master one. Great game, and at this price would make a great inexpensive gift!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good one for the younger kids. . .
My 6 year old daughter loves to play it.The only problem is that my 3 year old son is constantly trying to borrow it from her!!Great games and easy to play.Highly recommend for the 8 yrs. and under crowd.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Easy Game for Young Girls
I bought this for my niece for her birthday. She loved it. I checked with her yesterday and she still loves it. Her mom says that it is an easy game for young girls that has longer gameplay than most. It is similar to the Mario Party game series; but with cute graphics and Barbie. I thing it was a good purchase. Great price too.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 6 year old daughter loves it!
The variety of fun games keeps her interested when we're on long trips. The graphics are nice and she likes to be able to play against Barbie and her friends. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars river city ransom - 47 dollars is over priced
I bought this game the other day at gamestop for 17.99 , it's not that rare you can find it , don't buy it for that price, your paying too much for so little.

other wise this is game rules

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Port to the GBA
River City Ransom for the NES was a classic game. However, the port to GBA brought no effort into making this game better or functional for a handheld.Atlus Software looked to cash in on a popular title and spent the minimal effort necessary to create this cartridge.

I'm not going to criticize what RCR is as a game. But here's what I think you should be aware of before purchasing the GBA version.

- Poor menus. The game immediately begins with two choices, "Story" and "Manage Data."The Manage Data option doesn't even allow you to load a game...you first need to begin a new game and then load.I'd think this could have been improved.

- Screen errors. The game plays in sort of a letterbox mode, but your computer partner and opponents are able to appear below this black bar, and run around offscreen.I believe I remember this bug from the original, but it shouldn't have made it into this updated version.

- Dual-button jump. The GBA has 4 buttons A,B,L,R like the SNES...so I can't understand why I still need to push AB at the same time to jump.L and R aren't even used during actual gameplay. The GBA form makes dual-button moves trickier than a NES controller, and I wish Atlus would have considered that.

I do enjoy River City Ransom as a game, but the presentation and delivery makes me reconsider this purchase. It's sad to see developers offering no effort in the delivery of a title like this, instead choosing to sell the name and hope to cash in with fans.

3-0 out of 5 stars ----------Great Game, But Too SHORT-------
I bought this game two days ago, and i beat it.Its fun the whole game, but too easy.Im a little angry with the length. Slick, the final boss, is easier then you would think, and you don't even have to free your girlfriends.I suggest you rent this game before you buy it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Classic!!
I remember I was really little when I played this game. In Asia, who doesn't know this game?
I love it. One point is off tho because this game is toooooooo short. I finished the whole game in 2 hours.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good game
River City Ransom Ex is a radically enhanced version of the cult classic NES side-scrolling fighter that tries to be faithful to its progenitor roots. In River City Ransom Ex, you can still play as Ryan or Alex, but the game's real allure is customizing your own characters and recruiting a three-deep hoodlum posse of your own. Players can customize everything from characters' physical appearances to NPC A.I. to in-game physics.
Unfortunately, the original formula of super-deformed deviant tiny boppers and gameplay variety loses its charm amiss all the new enhancements and customizations. Many of the new techniques look cool, but they're way too powerful. Once you've earned enough money to buy a few techniques the game is essentially over. There isn't any incentive to build up and customize your characters at all. Despite the flaw, River City Ransom Ex is a decent addition to the handheld fighter genre, and if players can discipline themselves not to buy many of the all-powerful techniques, River City Ransom Ex can be a cool gaming experience. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great re-creations of the arcade originals...
Great re-creations of the arcade originals... with couple of caveats. As a hard core gamer from the 80s and a collector of the full sized original arcade games (none of which are on this cart) I have to give this a near perfect score. I will outline each of the games on the cart with brif commentary:

Frogger: A true classic. My only real complaint with this game is that it doesn't have the original music theere are subtle nuances of the original but it's just too different to be authentic. Gameplay is hindered IMO because of the verticle scrolling screen which some people may a better alternative to the micro-screen option of Gyruss (more on that later).

Scramble: I used to play this game at a grocery store across the street from my house back in the day. I was never very good at it but this is a faithfull reproduction of the original. All sounds and gameplay are exact. Again this is a screen scolling game just like Frogger but gameplay is not affected at all.

Yie are Kung Foo: I hate this game. It is a true reproduction but the game does nothing for me. Your milage may vary.

Gyruss: This also was one of my favorite games from back in the day. This game is perfect for me even if it is a little small. But even my 31 year old eyes work well enough to rack up some respectable scores (even for a full sized machine. Initially I was a little put out by the tiny size of the game field but I eventually got used to it this one of my favorite GBA games. The sounds and look of this game is an exact replica of the arcade original. The 4 direction joy pad was a little difficult to get used to but it's just fine now that I've gotten used to it. My only real complaint is that when a high score is reached you can put in your initials but they are not saved from one session to the next.

Time Pilot- This game was also a favorite back in the day but unfortunately I find it completely unplayable with the GBA joy pad.

Rus'n Attack- This is the "newest" game in the pack. I'm not crazy about this game but it's growing on me. Again a perfect port from the arcade original. Rush'n Attack is a primitive side scolling platform game in which you "kill the commies" popular in the platform scroller of the 80's.

Overview: Great product for a great price. Just a couple of annoyances for an old school gamer but overall veryy solid and great to play some of the classics on the go.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy it for Frogger and...
be amazed by Gyruss and Time Pilot are two of the best arcade shooting games EVER!

The games were built ground up for the gba and run flawlessly.

Frogger 9/10
Gyruss 10/10
Time Pilot 10/10
Yi Aer kung fu 7/10
Scramble 8/10
Rush'n attack 8/10

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS PACK IS WORTH MORE THAN $9.99!!
Trust me on this one.Amazon.com is giving this gamepack away!Well anyways many classics return, and I suspect that the only people that would remember them are us old timer gamers. All of these classics I enjoyed playing in the arcades in the 80's and early 90's.It's been 11 years since I last played Yie Ar Kung Fu, and the game is still the same as I remember it!I remember going to Togo's in 1989 with my mother and brothers and playing the Yie Ar Kung Fu and Popeye arcades. We had a blast! The games are small, dont eat up allot of RAM memory or hard disk space, but heck they're fun and thats all that matters!!!Unfortunately, many gamers today think that what makes a game a good seller, is the graphics, music, sound effects, and other multimedia catches.Unfortunately, many gaming companies have hired game designers that did not grow up in the 1980's and early 90's gaming days!Man its not the graphics, its all about the fun of the game!I can tell you that Yie Ar Kung Fu may be limited, and seem like a game a 2 year old would play, but its as fun as Street Fighter Alpha, and I mean it too!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kool Konami Kart!Retro Bliss!
Great package including the following games adapted for your GAMEBOY ADVANCE:
Frogger!
Yie Ar Kung Fu
Gyruss
Time Pilot
Rush'N Attack
Scramble
On the SP or Advance you can see them well -- they were all bright games!Sometimes it is hard to see bullets coming at you in Gyruss and Time Pilot when you are doing the handheld. But on the the Gameboy player for the Gamecube everything really seems solid!

This puts me back in an Aladin's Castle or Chuck E. Cheese in the 80s -- I can smell pizza and nachos while playing Frogger! And I want to check my pockets for gold tokens! The bright candy colors, easy to learn gameplay, and 80s video games make this a fun nostalgic cart that lives up to your retro expectations!

The Konami Cheat code -- up up down down left right left right B + A unlocks more lives and other variances on each game screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Konami does it!
I have all of the arcade collection games for the GBA except one(heard it was bad, The Midway one) and this is tied in my book with "Atari anniversary advance".I bought this konami cartridge for frogger, but time pilot turned out to be my favorite on the cart (An awesome addicting game, nothing is hard to see with the sp).All of the games are very playable, Kung fu bieng the hardest to control.Gyruss and scramble are very good ports, gyruss' controls take time to get used to though. If you ever played Gradius for snes, scramble is its predessesor.I never really liked rush'n attack with nes, but it is a decent side scroller beat em up.Frogger is just how you remember it, AWESOME!This cart rules!

Conclusion:
If you liked the "old school" games in the past, or you like quick simple addicting fun (very fun, very addicting), This game is for you!!! Also try Atari anniversary advance! ... Read more
