5-0 out of 5 stars Good Choice for Harry Potter fan.
I was really excited when I got this game. I love the books and don't mind playing games either. I'm not a game freak who plays constantly, just on trips and stuff. This game is really fun, it catches the Quidditch spirit in everyone. In this game you can be any of the seven players. There isn't much difference between the keeper and chasers they all just fly around and you can't tell them apart. This game is really nice and a good choice for any Harry Potter fan who has dreamed of being out there playing with the quaffle or chasing down the snitch. This game is really easy to catch on to. At low levels it is really easy. You can dominate even if you've only played a little bit. However, the firebolt level keeps even the master in check. If I were you, I would get this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not a bad game, but they could have done better
i think that this is by far the best of the potter games, altho i haven't tried out the new prisoner of azkaban game. i do have to say that i love the books, and i am a very causual gamer. I play this game loads, and i really do enjoy it. in contradiction with one of the reviews i just read, i find it terribly easy to score over 150 pts in a game before the snitch chase, and the world cup games get harder as you go on. overall i think it's brilliant.

4-0 out of 5 stars What are you all talking about?
I've been reading reviews for this game, and I had thought I had a guarenteed great game in my hand after i bought it. I guess I thought wrong. I am about 14 years old and have read the potter books and like them alot. THis game is very disapointing. SOme of you might be familiar with the scoring system in quidditch: 10 pts. for each time the quaffle (main playing ball) goes through one of the goal-like hoops, and 150 pts. for when the seeker catches that darn golden snitch. Now, I say they either change the rules of quidditch, or make a sequal to the game. I dont think they can go back and change all those books. To me, all this game is is flying around tossing the quaffle back and forth, until the time comes to try and catch the snitch before the other team does. The game works it out so that when there are enough steals, special moves and passes during a game, it automatically goes right to the catching of the snitch. I feel the quaffle part of this game is completly pointless because the way the game makes it, whoever catches the snitch wins. It almost never get to you scoring 150 points with the quaffle before the hunt for the snitch is on, so why even have the quaffle play in it. Basically, this game just comes down to the 1 minute hunt for the snitch at the end.

If you are a collector of harry potter memorabilia, Go ahead and get the game. Other than that, spend your money on a good game like Metroid Zero Mission or Super dodge ball advance

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BESTgame ever!!!!!!!!!
I've only played this once but it is sooooooooo cool! The graphics are alot batter then the old ones.I am sooooooooo geting this.If your a Harry Potter fan I think you should too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game!!!!!!!!!!(Even if ur not a Harry Potter Freak)
This is a really cool game and I was so happy when Draco was on the cover. He has finnaly been given the attention he deserves! You can play as the four Hogwarts houses and then you can move on to the Quiditch world cup. You can also play as two players. I always beat my brother. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Keeps my son busy on long trips!
I bought this for my son for Christmas of 2004.I wasn't sure how often he would watch it.He loves to watch it over and over. It's great for long car trips or rainny days.I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about when she said it wouldn't work with her sons game boy advance.I know there are older versions of the game boy, so maybe that's it.This does work with the Game Boy Advance SP.. (the new ones that are squares, not the rectangular older ones).

3-0 out of 5 stars Misleading
I bought this for my son for Christmas because he wanted the new VideoNow but already has a Game Boy Advance.I figured that this would be just as good.Well, it won't work. The box states that it's not compatible with other Game Boy systems or the Game Boy Player accessory.Nowhere on his Game Boy does it say "player accessory," but the video won't play, showing on the screen that it won't play on a "player accessory." I'm at a loss for what to do now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun!
My daughter spends hours watching this "video".Whenever we are in the car it keeps her entertained. It is so much easier to carry around than a portable DVD player.I am going to get her more.

5-0 out of 5 stars This should've been done earlier!
GBA Videos in General:
When I first heard the concept of GameBoy Advance Video, I thought to myself "Why didn't they think of this before?" It gives off yet another reason to purchase a GBA, putting its excellent graphical specs to good use. I own a GBA SP, and have purchased many of these videos. They're excellent for in the car...when not driving, of course. Especially with the lighting of the SP, the screen has the quality of what looks like a high-grade television, the only real drawback being that the screen is small. Even though I don't use it myself, if you have one of those gameboy magnifiers that you look through to give yourself an expanded view of gameplay, you could certainly use it to make the videos look larger. In all, these are great to buy, especially if you own a Gameboy Advance or Gameboy Advance SP, and it will give you another reason to buy one if you don't already own one (let me quickly say that if you're buying a Gameboy for the first time, I'd spend the little bit of extra cash and go for the SP instead of the regular GBA). I also highly recommend the Headphone Adaptor if you own the SP, as it is needed in order to plug in headphones. If you have a regular GBA, make sure you have some headphones to use as they greatly increase the sound experience of the video.

Nicktoon Compilation:
This is an excellent GBA video for the nick-lover, like myself. This was the first GBA video I purchased, and did so knowing that I'd having a few different of the shows I like on it, and could check out the quality/etc. on all of them. If you don't like Nickelodeon, maybe this isn't for you, but otherwise, I'd say this is a wise choice, particularly for a first buy.

Conclusion:
All in all, the whole GBA Video concept is, in my opinion, superb. No extra hardware or anything; you just pop in a video like you would a game, and.....presto! You're ready to go!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for young kids!
I bought this video for my 3 kids ages 9, 5 and 3. They had been wanting a video now. I'm glad I waited. They love it! The 5 year old watches it the most. I plan on buying more videos. I bought this one because it had 3 different shows. I hope they come out with more like this one. ... Read more

This is a good game! First of all, this is a good game^_^ Second of all this is a good game THen if you pass the game this is a good game and also if beat a boss it turns out to be a good game ^_^ good gam e ggood game GOOD GAMEEEEEEE!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best RPG ever made, ''PERIOD'' !
When I first bought this game I thought that this would be another stupid role playing game after the failure of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. But then as soon as I turned on the game boy advance the Music, graphics, complexity, and sheer size just completely blew me away. Even the story was better than I have ever seen on any other RPG. Then they brought out a second one which had the best summons out there. If I had to compare any other games to the two Goldens it would be Final Fantasy #7 and FF 1&2 as well as Fire Emblem. The only problems, toooo much talking ( as with all RPG's ), limitations ( like trying to trip over a fellow villager which is best left to Fable ), you can't attack an enemy that you have selected but died before your guy could attack it, and I have heard of people liking to change the plot but why would you want to because the plot is that good. The advantages: phynergy (magic) is more than attack and you can't beat the game with out it, and the summons are the best in the business.

5-0 out of 5 stars superb japanese atmosphere
This game is worth at least $30 (i got an original secondhand for about e14) and is a must have. It sets the standard for the GBA games. You really do need a walkthrough at a few points - I did, and haven't even finished the game (did about 60%) The puzzles are great and breathe that old 80's sokoban style. Absolutely amazing and lovely for older gamers.

One more thing: Buy all the Feathers in the shops, using them puts an end to the random encounters "Monsters won't attack you so often" it says. So much for that complaint!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
I seriously believe there is not enough good that can be said about these games. They are the prime examples of good gaming, not only for the system, but also as an RPG.No game for the system has been able to surpass them in quality since the release of each, and likely, no game ever will. They're not just good GBA games; they're great video games, period.

There are dozens of aspects of the game that would make a good game cool; but the fact that there are so many, makes these amazing games extraordinary.I tend to prefer real time combat to turn based, but out of all the turn based I've ever played, this is easily the best. Not only is there the progressively interesting psynergy, and not only are there releases from various weapons, and not only are there the djinn, collected over the course of the game, with their own, unique releases, but there are also the spectacular summons and combo summons (introduced in The Lost Age) that can be used with stand-by djinn, which, alone, puts these games ahead by leaps and bounds in terms of graphics, over any other game for the system. And all of these contributions make combat far more strategic and engaging.

My absolute favorite aspect of these games are the dungeons.I've grown tired of the RPG where, upon entering a dungeon, the only difficultly comes from the overly incessant monster attacks and the boss battle which, traditionally, comes at the end.In Golden Sun and The Lost Age, monster attacks are on a more limited basis--meaning they don't get boring fast, like other RPGs.But the real challenge in the dungeons are the complex puzzles, most of which require the use of various psynergy. And the psynergy (magic) system is very intelligently taught to the player as the game progresses, as to recognize when a specific psynergetic power is required. It's the only RPG I've ever played where magic isn't just a convenience; it's a necessity. And while many of the puzzles are hard, they're fun, and all the more satisfying when the solution is achieved. It's one of the few games I've played that required serious thinking on the part of the player, as opposed to mindless, repetitive combat. It's one of the few I've played where I actually looked *forward* to the dungeons--and even some of the boss battles.(My favorite dungeons include all four lighthouses, the Elemental Rocks in The Lost Age, and the Ankohl Ruins, which requires the use of my personal favorite psynergy--sand.)

My only gripes for the game include the fact that I'm a little tired of the standard RPG that's from the point of view of a male protagonist, as well as a minor flaw such as the fact that, when in battle, a character is assigned to attack a monster but the monster is killed before they can attack, the character automatically goes into defense mode, and the turn is wasted.

Overall, I would seriously recommend this to anyone who's ever been an RPG fan, and agree with the statement that it is worth buying a GB soley for Golden Sun and The Lost Age.And while you can start with The Lost Age, I would recommend starting with the first one, simply so that you can appreciate the awe and splendor of both games together.

On the downside, I almost wish I hadn't played these games first.Because now, nothing else I ever play will even compare.

5-0 out of 5 stars Is this an RPG or a puzzle solving game?
The running around solving puzzles by pushing logs, rocks around, and freezing water puddles, etc, dominates more than 80% of the game play. The story is almost pushed aside and practically neglected as the primary objective of the game. The puzzles are fun in their own ways however. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Priceless classic, but problems with the pak itself.
I bought this game because I still remember it from when I was a little kid. It was infinite bliss when the guy I bought it off mailed it to me at a high price.
The story is that your girlfriend has been kidnapped and hidden in a cave with monsters. You must kill everyone in sight in order to rescue her.
Within a level, your job is to clear that level of all monsters to move on. Each monster has a specific trait that makes them special. The way you kill the monsters is trap them in a bubble and pop them. They will fly around and turn into a piece of food. Collect it for points. The way to collect more points is pop more than one monster at once. Any bubble touching a bubble that pops will pop too. Creating a chain reaction. Try blowing as many bubbles as you can sometimes the vacant bubbles all turn into food when the level is cleared.
There is a lot of variety when it comes to EVERYTHING! Each level has a special trait such as design or how they affect how the bubbles float. Your special upgrades are either running shoes or a piece of candy. The shoes make you run faster. The candy can either make you fire bubbles at a longer range, speed or turn it into fire. There are even more items than I will mention.
There are also special bubbles too. Lighting bubbles send a lighting bolt across the screen opposite to the direction you're facing. Water bubbles send out a wave that sweeps the level. Fire bubbles send a flame to the floor and creates a small line of fire. All of these bubbles cannot hurt, but hinder you as well as kill your enemies.
The very special bubbles are the letter bubbles. Once you collect all the letters of the word EXTEND, you get a 1-up and get to skip your current level.
The music should not bother you. There are only three tunes. One tune for the normal game, one for when you spell EXTEND and one for the final boss. The music on normal levels is the tune you hear the most and drive everyone around nuts.
There is a old version and a new version. The only difference is a graphical and music upgrade. They should have not put the new version in here at all.
One thing you may think is that this is a kid's game. It was aimed at kids, but it is so inhumanly difficult, no kid should be able to beat it for about a year. This game captures the innocence and happiness of a child and inserts it into you. Yes, you will feel like a kid at a arcade. Many things will make you smile. Such as level 25, which has the word POPCORN at the top. In center of the stage is a pan and the stage is yellow. Priceless.
Some things are not for kids. Some of the food items include beer and martinis. One of the levels even has the word DRUNK on top.
I believe the creators had fun making the game. You will come across some people's names and such.
Mutiplayer is a big plus. This is a game to play with your girlfriend or boyfriend. Even best friends. The game is sweeter when it comes to two. The premise is the same, only now with a partner.
The problem is that there is no meat to the game pak itself. They could have had Bubble Bobble 1 and 2 and have included Snow Brothers (If Taito made it). They left too much memory left behind. I also feel I paid too much. I paid over $30 here at Amazon! Unless the price has gone UNDER $20, I recommend you search your local game store's bargain bin.
This was a priceless treasure of my childhood, but I felt they could have put more into the game pak.

Edit: April 27, 2005 Sorry, I found out that Snow Brothers was made by Capcom, not Taito.

Notice: June 4, 2005I just played Bubble Bobble for the NES and I want you to know the game boy Bubble Bobble refers to the arcade version, not the NES version. They are VERY different!

5-0 out of 5 stars A True Classic
I just bought this game today and playing it again after all of these years, it brings back a lot of memories. I remember playing this game on the Nintendo with the game genie so i could jump on a lot of bubbles at once. It was so much and i played this game the most out of all of the nintendo games that i had. This game has always been a favorite of mine and I'm so glad that they brought it back. This game is so much fun to play. Your a little dinosaur who blows bubbles at enemys to trap them and turn them into food for more points, while using different kinds of bubbles to help you through the puzzles. The old version of this game is just that. The old classic version that you remember playing on the nintendo. The new version is a updated version, of the origional classic. The new version has brighter colored puzzles and a updated looking bub and bob. This is a very fun game and highly recomended for those old school gamers who want to being back some memories or for someone who just wants to have some fun playing a classic game.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Re-Release of the Classic
I can remember playing this game with my brother for hours and hours on end when we were kids. We memorized all the levels and how best to beat them and "wasted away" our youth in front of the TV.

When I saw this game on the shelf I knew I just had to have it.

When I started playing I was happily surprised that there are actually two versions on the gamepak.
The old version is the exact same game I played as a kid with the same graphics, sound, levels, same everything. It's exactly as I remember it (perfect in every way).
The New version is pretty much the same game again but with updated graphics.

I like to switch back and forth playing new one day and old the next and loving every bit of it.

But were they content with giving me everything I ever wanted with this game? Luckily they weren't. I was thrilled to learn they included multiplayer, and only requiring one gamepak no less. You can also get another pak and play an expanded multiplaer with both hooked up.

Playing the game I know Nirvana.
Buy it today and you'll never have to change the game in your GBA again.

5-0 out of 5 stars You will be SURPRISED!!!
I remember back in jr high school when I played Nintendo games vigorously; Nintendo games were my Bible back then and played them religiously.Perhaps the one of the reasons I played them religiously is because of the gameplay.Games didn't boast top graphic or orchestral music compare with games these days, however, they surpassed them in one aspect; gameplay. One of the games I truly enjoyed, especially with my friends, was 'Bubble Bobble'.This game was simple enough for anyone to play yet becomes pretty difficult toward the end even for the veterans. It is this kind of gameplay, which appeals to wide range of players, yet it provides enough challenge for the veteran players at the same time.

I bought this game without having a second thought for the nostalgic reason because it represents this 'precious' part of my life back in jr high... However, this game was way more than what I expected to be.

First of all, I'm not so sure if this is direct translation from arcade or Nintendo(it's been a looong time). However, I wouldn't be surprised if this was direct translation from arcade because game looks great! Those who've played Nintendo version would remember that Nintendo version had this 'lack of memory situation' occasionally, where things would slow down and part of graphic would go 'blink' or disappear due to lack of memory. However, Gameboy ADvance is much more powerful than 8 bit Nintendo, thus you don't get that shortcoming in this version! So not only you are playing this classic at your fingertips, but it's been graphically enhanced to a perfection. How about that?!

Second of all you can enjoy this game with your friend with just one gamepak.Just hook it up with gamelink and you are good to go.Game offers three mode; single play, double play with single gamepak, and double play with multipak. The only difference ,if two people are playing simultaneously with one gamepak or multi-pak, is the availability of sound. If you are playing with one gamepak, then you will have sound coming out from the GBA with the gamepak only-compare with both sound channel with multi-pak.Even if you have only one gamepak to play double, it's more than enough to enjoy(game music/sound seem to have been redefined from Nintendo version..or sounds 'clearer'.. it's just my opinion though)

Lastly they offer several more enhancements. Automatic save option provides player to save where he/she left off- so you can always come back and play from where you left off(you can also delete this file for a fresh start as well).
This version put some effort into this cute intro instead of Nintendo version of intro (just rising logo with music). It also let you change the mode of screen by pressing L-button.You can have this everything-fit-in-screen mode or enlarged screen mode with better resolution. It also contains this 'new' version of game with enhanced graphic, sound, and etc.

I bought a pink GBA w/ Puyo Pop for my girl friend last year(and she's better than me in Puyo Pop..can't believe it).Trust me, there's nothing like playing two-player games together with your precious one. I'm gonna buy her her own 'Bubble Bobble' not only because it is a great game for us to play together, but I want to share precious part of my life with her also(I know.. it's getting cheesy now, my apology). But the possibility doesn't stop from there; she can play with her mom, her brother can play with sister-in-law, and the list goes on and on.Bubble Bobble is the kind of game, which can bring all sort of people under two GBA with one beautiful side-effect; CONNECTIONthrough these two bubble-spitting cute dinos...

Isn't life beautiful?

I bought this game, and it was terrible. I tried to make it work, but it wouldn't let me win. I tried and I tried, and then I decided that this game was stupid and I through it out the window. My parents got mad at me and threw me out the window. I asked them for a normal game but they wouldn't buy me one and threw me out the other window. This game is the worst game I've ever seen. It belongs in the garbage can. I can't believe what kind of unbelievably stupid person would buy this ugly, disgusting game. It was so terrible. Please don't buy it or you'll get thrown out the window. By the way, my name is Joshua and I hate this game. By. You better not buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fun Fish Game
My 5 year old son Nat has the following to say about Shark Tale, "It is a great gift from my Mom to me. It is a fun toy and I like to play with it."

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh boy....
This is what I think of the game...BLAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that that's out of the way, I can tell you all about this video game. You get to play as Oscar, the fish and do nothing but work at the Whale Wash, swim and fight a really nice shark that has a problem with killing animals like Oscar. Oscar doesn't need the title, Shark Slayer!! Anyway I can't tell you how a story about rapping fish came to be a video game. I mean Finding Nemo the video game wasn't that bad, but they made a really bad movie into an even worse video game. That is all.

4-0 out of 5 stars WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Why would this game have a cute little fishy in it? This game though is pretty good. You get to play as Oscar, the "cute little fishy" and do some hip hop YO! You dance, but ya don't prance. You also get to kick some shark butt which is pretty cool. GET THIS GAME AND DON'T LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS!

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST MOVIE EVER!
Like oh my gosh! the movie is like so cool and so like is this game!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's about a cute little fishey swims and dances like every. Well he would like swim because he's a cute wittle fishey

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad Movie and a Bad Game
When I saw the movie, I thought it was very bad so I almost instantly knew that this was going to be a bad game. So instead of buying it I rented it! I thought it was very boring.

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent adventure title for the GBA or DS.
I remember how great Final Fantasy Adventure was, which was really part 1 of the mana saga, and how wonderful the Secret of Mana was for the Super Nintendo.

Now comes Sword of Mana, which is the 4th in the series, and its magic doesnt hold up to the older games.

The gameplay of sword play and magic is standard fare and does nothing to dazzle you. Same goes for the story which is a rehash of Final Fantasy Adventure. The game is fun but nothing memorable which is a departure from Square games which usually leave a dramatic lasting effect.

The main problem with this game is that a strategy guide is almost mandatory for all the items, spells, seeds, fruits, vegetables, etc. The crafting, forging, level up classes, and stats are all way too complicated for what they are.
It seems that Square thought we were all stat obsessed and item hunters/gatherers with this game.

All in all its a fun and short adventure but nothing that will go down as a classic like Secret of Mana or the Legend of Zelda games.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alright
Sword of Mana is a fun game too play for a while. But the background music is annoying. And after your done playing this game you wouldn't want too play it again since there's no replay value.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best RPG Games Ever
This game was a lot of fun (even though I still can't beat it).One of the things that I was suprised at most was how cool the graphics were.Okay, you're charachter does look a little dopey, but the landscapes and everything were awesome. Also, once you've beaten the game once, you can play again as the other person (boy or girl). The basic storyline is the same and everything, but you get different side quests to do and such. The music was nice too, but after you play it for about 4 hours straight you're going to have to turn on the radio or something. It's really repetitive! The story line is fun and although the shows are really long, it's still worth it to find out what happens next.Oh yah, being an advanced wizard in the game is really fun too, haveing all the annoying little spirits. This game overall is really cool and is worth your money.I would recomend it to people 12 and up and people without any siblings (my brothers steal this game all the time so they can play it).

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad
While in no ways the best RPG there ever was, I certainly did find this game enjoyable--to the point that I played it 6 hours straight the first night I had it.

I'm not familiar with any previous games in the series before, but I was overall pleased with this game. It's suprisingly addictive and has it's own strong appeal and charm. The real time combat was a nice change from all the traditional turn based that seems to dominate most RPGs, and the I love the idea of the game being played twice--once from the female character's perspective, and once from the male's.Particularly since they don't go all the same places together; at many points, each go through different dungeons, which are only accessible through that character's side of the story.

Unfortunately, the game is not without it's flaws. The graphics aren't always necessarily the best--the characters seem to have a hard time moving their legs when they walks sideways, at times.I grew frustrated with only being able to save my game at the Goddess statues, and even more so by the fact that when my character dies, the game ends. And with how easy it was for characters to be killed in the fun but flawed combat, I found myself tired of doing the same dungeons over and over again. Also, while having two people participating in the real time combat is a good idea, it, overall, proves to be a waste. The second person (whomever happens to be following your character at the time) is worthless, and usually wanders around, attacking only monsters that you attack, and being killed far too quickly and easily. And the only way to control that character is to relinquish control of the first character.
With the weapons, it is an interesting change to have the hot house where you can use seeds collected from the game and have the blacksmith there temper your weapons, but I prefer the more straight forward weapon progression; where you simply buy or find a weapon or piece of armor that is simply stronger than anything previous. The same can be said for the spirits; cool, but mostly useless, except for a few key points during the game. The only one I ever really used was the one that healed.

Overall, I think it's a very fun, appealing sort of game. It only took three weeks to beat, so it's nothing for the hard-core gamer. But it's a fun jaunt, nonetheless.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing
This game was short and unsatisfying. The storyline and dialog attempted to become more and more "philisophical" as the game went on and became ridiculous by the end. The dynamics of the game were possibly even more flawed than the 1991 counterpart, which was in some ways more fun than this failure of a remake. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mega Cool!
This is really cool.Yes the cartridge only has 2 shows on it, who cares. The ability to watch your favorite catroon on the gameboy that is probably stuck in your pocket or bag anyway is just awesome. Also, as small as the cartridge is, the whole tech. concept blows any complaints away. This is only a glimpse of what is to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not Just for GBA Screen!
Use your Game Cube adapter to play this great movie on your portable Game Cube Screen! My kids love it on the go in the car, anywhere away from home. Cheaper than buying a DVD player and the screen on the GC is the same size with great clarity!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Well it's a novel idea....
This Game Boy Advance cartridge contains the first two episodes of the new TMNT cartoon. While it's always cool to see companies innovate with portable technology, you're not really getting a lot for your money here. Two episodes on a small GBA screen with compressed sound? If parents really want to entertain their kids on the go, buy a portable DVD player and some of the TMNT DVDs, which have more episodes for less money. Yes portable DVD players are expensive, but at least parents can watch their favourite movies as well.

If you have cash to burn and are a hardcore TMNT fan, I suppose this is worth buying just for the sheer novelty value of seeing the show on a GBA screen. But don't expect this cartridge to entertain for long.

5-0 out of 5 stars TMNT Cartoons on GBA
Here it is, the origins of the TMNT from the FoxBox cartoon. Now you can watch the radical green dudes use their ninja skills on your GBA. The first two episodes of the TMNT are included on the high quality GBA Video cartridge. Cool! I'm getting it and so should you. Parents, get this for your kids ... they will love it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for what it is.
Cons: the menus could be a bit more intuitive, and it does play at a high level for someone who isn't a pretty serious chess player (even the weakest players on the weakest setting).

Pros: challenging to good players and people trying to improve their game.I'm not beating it very often, but I am getting rid of bad playing habits.Once you get used to the menus, there really is a lot to this program:different AI opponents with various playing styles, tutorial stuff, and a few hundred classic games to review along with some chess history, and it saves your game if you need to put it down.

I also like playing chess on my GBA and can get in a couple of games a day just by carrying it in my pocket and taking it out when I'm not doing anything (waiting in line). Also nice to have a chess computer that I know isn't going to break.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good little chess game
I like this game but there is room for improvement. First, the AI is really tough--even the lowest level opponents are probably too tough for the casual gamer. Second, the chess tutor section is pretty poorly done, in my opinion. Good points about the game include the graphics and the play control. It also lets you redo all the moves of a game, which is good for learning.

2-0 out of 5 stars It needs a manual or game guide
Fun but hard to figure out how to get to earn chess sets. It needs an instruction manual

5-0 out of 5 stars The GBA chess game for serious enthusiasts.
Chessmaster for the GBA is a better choice for real enthusiasts
than Virtual Kasparov. It was released several months later, and its obvious than Kasparov and its obvious that this game fixed some of the shortcomings.

Some very important features this game includes:
A true save feature instead of Kasparov's antiquated password system.
Ability to undo moves.Helpful for when you want to experiment strategies or simply make a silly mistake.
150 classic matches from real masters.its takes a few seconds to load, but gives a fantastic lesson in strategy as a game actually unfolds.
Ability to choose different pieces.A bunch of them are useless (like dog theme pieces) but several are excellent to play with and give nice options.
Tutorials on moves, strategies and notation.I find the notation tutorial to be especailly helpful for players who want to learn more detailed strategies from books and other sources.Great job including this!

I do agree with some of the other comments ofr this game..the difficulty is a bit high for novice players or children who aren't the next Bobby Fischer, but for enthusiasts who want a chess challenge at thier fingertips this is great. There isalso a comment that selecting pieces takes several clicks to register.I never encountered this problem, the game plays just fine.

4-0 out of 5 stars A strong Chess program for the GBA
I have both Virtual Kasparov (VK) and ChessMaster (CM).I wish I could combine the best features of both.

First off, CM plays at a much higher level.Whereas most of the VK personalities make occasional blunders, very few of those in CM do.This means that you really have to earn your wins against CM.Youngsters and novices (below say 1300 ELO) are likely to get walloped by most of the CM characters.
Also on the plus side:CM reports the moves in standard algebraic notation (VK does not) and allows infinite undo and redo.CM also contains a large library of famous games for review.
On the minus side, as the previous reviewer comments, I find I frequently have to press the arrow keys several times before CM acknowledges my move (and then frequently shoots past the piece I'm trying to pick up). This is quite annoying.
Also, CM does not automatically record the board position (VK does, which is useful when your batteries suddenly run out).CM also expects only a single user (VK records board positions and preferences for up to three different users).
Choose CM if you're a strong chessplayer or are looking for a real challenge.Choose VK for youngsters or novices. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars C'MON ! ! !
I can almost move!enemies to the right, enemies to the left, enemies up and down...I do not like RPG games with "invisible" enemies.

4-0 out of 5 stars This is the best game you might ever BUY!!!
This could be the best game you could buy! The style changes maybe gone, but you get the cool soul styles! You should get the
strategy guide here while your at it. In this game, you get to fight like protoman! And if your wondering if you have to play
up to three times to get the goods, you do. You really should get the game here. If your playing it right now, to beat the final boss, hit him when his core turns red or your in for a tough fight. I strongly suggest buying the game and strategy guide here more than anywhere else! have fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the best in Megaman games!
This is the coolest of all! I have Blue Moon, and all 6 souls.
The souls in this game are Aqua Soul, Junk Soul, Number Soul,
Metal Soul, and Wood Soul. So, I recommend you to buy this

This game has really caught my attention! I would accept this game the best yet. And it is only $26.00. That is pretty cheap for such an awesome game. The soul unisions are awesome.Buy this game if you like adventure and action games. I hope you like this game very much!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best game ever dude
i got this game and it is the best there are new chips and the game is really cool u play in tornament and unlike the other battle network games u can play against the navi it shows. When u fight against bad navis u dont have to fight against the virises u can acually fight against the person. another difference in this game is that u cant add chips like how in the others u can discard chips and get different ones in this one u cant do that after. u can altough if u beat a guy in the ternament u can afterwords use like water when u charge if u want to change to water u discard a water then for three turns every time u charge it changes to water and it charges really fast something better in this game is the navicust in the third game u get things like charge up or speed up and in this one it has that and u can get things like push left and b and use a shild and use a barrier that can stop one attack against u. One last thing is that if u use a chip on the enemy right as they attack u power up and the next time u use a chip its double the damage i think that this game would really be worth money

Amazon.com Review

Golden Sun is the first original role-playing game for the GameBoy Advance to appear in the U.S. And despite perhaps a too-familiar story line,Golden Sun's jaw-dropping graphics, deep magic system, and uniquemultiplayer arena mode truly show that the Game Boy Advance is capable of aserious RPG.

Game developer Camelot (which also made the legendary Shining Force series forthe Sega Genesis, and, more recently,Mario Golf andMario Tennis for theNintendo 64) designed Golden Sun from the ground up to take advantage ofthe GBA's horsepower, and it shows. Sharp, vivid landscapes, detailed towns anddungeons, and awesome weather effects--it looks like a Super Nintendo game withsome extra zing squeezed onto a handheld system. Fans of Secret of Manaor Chrono Trigger will appreciate the feel of this game.

But the game's greatest strength is its magic system. Your characters each havetheir own latent psychic abilities based on one of the four elements of alchemy(earth, water, wind, and fire). The characters will be called upon to use theirindividual forms of telepathy and telekinesis to solve various puzzles in thegame. Also, you can collect Djinn (elemental spirits) and link them to yourcharacters. Not only can these Djinn be summoned in battle, they can alsobolster or hinder your characters' latent psychic abilities, give them specialattacks, and even change your characters' class. This system is similar toFinal Fantasy VIII's guardian system, though far more intuitive and easyto master.

Golden Sun employs a basic turn-based battle system, but it has amazingspell and fighting techniques that really take advantage of the GBA'stechnology. The game achieves a nice balance between flashy attacks and thebrevity of these same attacks--a lesson the makers of other RPGs should learn.Battles are beautifully and quickly fought, and don't overtax the gamer.

The game also has an addictive arena mode in which players can fight monstersthey've already encountered in the game. Players can also link up with anotherGBA (this feature requires another Golden Sun cartridge) and fightagainst another party. While it's not true a multiplayer option, it adds a greatreplay value to the game.

Golden Sun's weakest point, however, is its standard-issue story. Inessence: boy wakes up amidst disaster, meets stalwart friends, and rises to thechallenge to save the day (all while living up to the image of his dear departedfather). The story is a little stale, but the mechanics of the game transcendthis flaw and bring the gamer into a state of handheld nirvana. --BryanKarsh

Pros:

  • Vivid graphics
  • Deep, intuitive magic system
  • Addictive multiplayer arena mode
Cons:
  • A plot straight out of "RPG Story Lines 101"

5-0 out of 5 stars Good...but too short
I know they're leaving room for a sequal, but I finished in about a week of real time, and I didn't play that much.Plus, since you're stuck in Lalivero after you beat the final battle, there's no replay value.Although it left me eagerly awaiting the second one, it also left me feeling a little cheated. However, overall, this is an awesome game. The storyline didn't bother me, because the number of sideplots the ever-altruistic Isaac and crew feel the need to indulge in kept things varied and fun.Overall, I highly recommend this game, but if you're getting it, buy Lost Age at the same time, or you'll be really mad when you finish.Me?I'm promising myself Lost Age as a reward after I finish Finals Week, and I'm counting the days.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing game
This game is one of the best games I have ever played.

Music 4.5/5 pretty good music

Graphcs 5/5 amazing graphics the summons are awsome

GamePlay 5/5 very fun game

Overall 4.7/5

Overall

4-0 out of 5 stars Any RPG loving GBA owner should buy this.
Created by a little know developer called Camelot (they made some Mario Golf and Mario Tennis games, as well as Shining Force before they joined Nintendo), Golden Sun is one of the GBA's more exceptional games.

Golden Sun has one major achievement it had for the GBA.It pushed the limits of the system in terms of graphics. While the visuals for wandering around seem rather easy for the system to create, the battles are a spectacular achievement.Even though the characters and enemies are shown as animated sprites. The sprites themselves are not much to write home about, but regardless they are quite convincing and suit the battle setup more than you might expect. The battle screen is sort of a "quasi-3D" setup. The background and sprites are 2D, but they are executed in such a manner that they look 3D.Not only that, battle effects, such as spells and simple attacks, add wonderfully to the setup. The only real problem I can see is that some spell effects slow down the framerates (how fast or smoothly it runs) noticably, but it's all handled so well that it doesn't even seem like a glitch, and out of sheer irony it adds to the effect of some of the spells.

The sound is a mixed bag.The music score part is excellent.Everything from the main menu music, to town themes, and the grand world map music is great both technically and melodically. If any songs do get on your nerves, they either won't last long or are done in such a way that you can tune them out while playing.Sound effects, however, are very standard.A lot of them are recycled so much that it's practically mind numbing. However, none of it seems completely out of place, and there isn't much that will hurt your ears, so that's something to be happy for.

The gameplay itself only has one real flaw in my opinion. The battles are too easy. With the exception of most of the boss battles, regular battles tend to be so easy that the thought of using the run option will never occur to you (they also go so quick that there's not really a time issue involved either). There's also an issue where, if you set all of your characters to attack one enemy and that enemy is destroyed, the characters that attack him later have their attack wasted. This really isn't too much of an issue, though, and Camelot was smart enough to make the character automatically defend if that should happen (which means damage to that character would be halved... though I think that only refers to physical damage).

The story has gotten a lot of bad press in my opinion. However, it should be noted that if you play this game, the story alone may persuade you to buy the next game, GS: The Lost Age (which is already out). While that's not particularly a bad thing, as the combination of the two stories is really awesome, just be aware of the extra expense that may cost for your wallet. Also, it should be noted that this game is a bit on the short side (roughly 20-25 hours), but that's still not much of an issue in my view (just so you know, the second game in the series is roughly 40-45 hours long, so that one is lengthier).

All in all, the game is quite fun. However, there are a few quirks that I mentioned above that may get on some people's nerves, so just know what you're getting into.

5-0 out of 5 stars an ok game.
This game is ok. People are complaining that you need a stratergy gide to get through it...erm...isn't that what online walkthroughs are for? All you have to do is type "Golden Sun walkthrough" into
google and you'll come up with who know's how many walkthroughs.
Anywho, about the game. Battling is fun enough, because you can use psynergy, Djinn, or just attack with weapons.
Psynergy is effectivly magic, and Djinn are pokemon like creatures who effect the types of psynergy your characters can use.
Plot 3/5
pretty standard plot: rescueing the world from a great evil.

Graphics 5/5
I usually stick to the original nintendo (yes yes, i know you think I should get a life) so these graphics look absolutly GREAT to me.

Music 4/5 Nice music...what can i really say about music? Not much...i really don't pay attention...

Characters 5/5 I happen to like the characters...your basic goodey-goodeys, its nice to laugh at Garet...

Challange 2/5 This game is NOT hard. If you're looking for a challange, this is not it. If you're looking for something to kick back to, I would think of this. Although the ocasional online walkthrough is nessary, you can usually figure most of it out by yourself.

Overall a pretty decent game. Maybe a step down from say Zelda, but overall an ok game...there isn't much else to say.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great RPG for the GBA
This is so far the best RPG I've tried for the GameBoy Advance system. It has a wonderful story, great graphics and sound, and plenty of puzzles! This game has a fairly intuitive interface, and will provide several hours of entertainment. Some of the nicer features are: the ability to save anywhere in the game (except during story arcs), fast paced combat, and a variety of ways to customize your characters. This game is a must for any RPG fan with a GBA! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best PR game than Ninja Storm!
I've played this game before and it turned out awesome! It includes more levels, more Tyrannodrones to beat up, more Dinozords to obtain, and also....Best Megazord fights ever!! You can even connect the Auxillery zords to the Thundersaurus Megazord in any combination or mode you want it to be(example:Thundersaurus Celphala and Dimetro mode and Ankylo and Parasaur mode). This game's even better than the ever popular Ninja Storm video game! And it also brings back memories to the very first Power Rangers series ever made, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers(first season)!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This is a Great game for those power ranger lovers...my five year old plays it all the time...I myself have played it and liked it for him... overall its a great entertaining game and they do play as the rangers themselves...each time you pass a part you get to play as another color ranger in the next level. Its a great game unlike the ps2 version of this game which sucks. So stick to the GBA version of this game please. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A good fun game
My 5 1/2 yr old loves this game.It saves your progress so you can go back and replay previous levels. There are some challenging areas for her and that makes it more fun. I don't play many of her games, but this one is fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Brother Bear
I think this game is cute but it is too easy!I think the graphics are pretty good though.NOT good for an advanced gamer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for whole family
Our family is new to Gameboy and video games. We have trouble knowing what games are good or not.Of all that we've tried, this has by far been our favorite.Ages 4 to 35 in our family all enjoy it.The cartidge stores up to four players' games (no passwords!).You play as Kenai and Koda, both individually and as a team, working through levels roughly along the timeline of the movie. The early levels are pretty easy, meant mainly as tutorials, but later levels are tricky.Although you might reach the end of the game, you can return to any previous levels to try to find all three tokens in each. There is no violence, and the puzzles are fun to work out.Advanced gamers may be bored, but it's great for families and new gamers.

3-0 out of 5 stars Brother Bear
i saved up my pocket money for awhile and decided to get this game.i think its ok,but it is way too easy!i finished it in probably about an hour and a half.if you are a more advanced gamer, you probably will not care for ths game. i think its cute, and the graphics are pretty good, but would recommend this for someone younger.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Game
Interesting Game...not too confusing. Rather fun. Some levels are difficult then easy. When you get the hang of it the game gets quite cool! If you like the movie then you'll love the game! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MARIO!!!!!!
WOW!! This is a good game and has a looooooot of games!!!! I like this game!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars good game
I don't own this game, but i have played it before and I'd say a 4 out of 5 stars, sure you start out as easy but as you advance,u unlock more games new and old and harder settings such as meduim, hard and if you think you can handle it,super hard...yes there are four settings instead of one.

I personally love the little sounds and music this game has to offer, and a game gets harder as you progress.

If you think this game is for kiddies...then I'd have to say your wrong ;)

2-0 out of 5 stars Ripofffor the old folks who played it and are now rich
This is just a money ripper aimed at kids from the 80's who have played these. Some of them are now rich, feel nostalgic about their childhood, and must get this game. The ones don't have much money still buy it by only eating once a day for about a week.

3-0 out of 5 stars I liked it.........For a while
I will admit that I enjoyed this game for around a week or so. The gameplay was repititous, and took alot more time than I would take to finish the levels. I still play it on and off, although I paid $40 for the dang thing(wish I would have checked amazon.com before making that splurge)

4-0 out of 5 stars Just got this game !!!
I really loved the Game and Watch of the yesteryears. So it was exciting that they have this for the Gameboy. But the only thing is that I don't know how to save the high scores or get the stars to unlock the other games. The instruction of the game tells me that all I have to do is to press start during the game and to turn off the unit.Nothing happens.
I don't know if I bought a defective game or something.
Please help. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest!!!!!
This is like a dream come true.I bought this just yesterday and I soon loved it. My cousin bought this called "video now" and it totally stunk.Imean it was in black and white. but this is in full color and it is also the best thing that nintendo did ever!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good enough for my 4 yr. old
I bought a Gameboy for my son's 4th birthday along with this GBA video. I don't think the quality is bad on the video, it is not what the show looks like on TV but the clarity is still good. I would recommend buying this if you are going somehwhere and are not going to be able to take a VHS or DVD with you. This is perfect for short hospital stays (which my son has coming up), road trips, or even family get-togethers when the kids want to watch TV and the parents don't want all the noise, this device allows your child to watch what they want to without to much noise. I hope this helps someone.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Thing
I believe that this is a great item that anyone should get.The graphics are not the best but they are still very good.THey show alot of fun shows and you can take it anywhere!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, as a video.
This video is cool. Much better than Video Now. You don't have to get a player and it's in color. Yes, the episodes are mixed up. That dosen't really matter does it? The only bad thing is the graphics/picture is a little bad. If you like the TV show, get this. Do NOT get the game based on the TV show. They usually aren't that fun. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Puss in Boots still has a LONG way to go....
Okay, first thing's first. This game is EXTREMELY short. I was able to get to the final level in about an hour. An HOUR. Without collecting the coins, this game is ridiculous. Some of the levels are fun, most are annoying. Plus, Puss doesn't listem to you. If you were thinking about buying this, think again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great and addicting game!
I purchased this game to go along with my son's new Gameboy SP for Christmas. And I have been addicted to it since Christmas morning! My 6 year old son like's the game also. He is just learning to read so there are a few times I have to read the "messages" given to the player. It is played simular to Mario games. You try to find your way out of different levels and as you go along, the levels get harder and you can play as different characters of the movie. The graphics are impressive for such a small screen. Over all a great game for all ages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yo People!
Cool game man! Ya get to play as Shrek, Donkey, that cat and Fiona. Ya see, ya do all these different challenges to get past levels man. The best thing is that it almost exactly the same as the movie so ya know what's coming up next. Remember that some of these things are my opinion so don't rate it on my opinion, rate on yours! Get as soon as ya can man!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Funny
This is one of my favorite games. It is really because you get to play as Shrek, Donkey, and other charecters. I recommend that you buy this game if you liked the movie. ... Read more
