Capcom vs. SNK Pro enlists a host of characters, more than 30 in all, from Capcom's Street Fighter line and SNK's King of Fighters series. The game features two different fighting styles and various modes of play. You can set up dream matches like Ryu vs. Kyo or Zangief vs. Raiden. The two fighting styles are Capcom Groove--based on the Street Fighter Alpha series, with a Super Combo Level Gauge--and SNK Groove--based on the King of Fighters series, with a Super Special Move once the Extra Gauge has reached its limit (if a player's vitality is very low, an enhanced version of the Super Special Move is available, giving players a chance to turn the tide). The number of characters in a team varies depending on the character's strength level, which ranges from one to four. The final team will have a total level of four. Modes of play include arcade mode, versus mode, training mode, and color edit mode. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars dyzoeman is wrong
DYZOEMAN IS WRONG I'VE PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE AND IT'S FUN IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. CAPCOM VS SNK PRO IS JUST LIKE X-MEN VS STREET FIGHTER AND MARVEL VS CAPCOM I'VE PLAYED ALL THREE AND THE'RE REALLY FUN IF YOU'RE INTO FIGHTING GAMES.

3-0 out of 5 stars This ain't no REAL street fighting game!
I bought this game solely because it had Street Fighter characters in it.Little did I know that there are only four buttons at your disposal. The "L" buttons are totally useless, as they are merely combinations of the aforementioned four buttons.

I gave this 3 stars only because the characters are interesting and their moves are exciting to watch. However, the A.I. is, of course, a cheeser.Expect to be helplessly and inexplicably put into a grab move, despite the fact that you are too far away to be reached. Also, if you pick Akuma, you are forced to fight alone in Arcade mode.Meaning, if the computer has 4 players, you must fight all four alone in what turns out to be a survival mode.

If you want a real street fighting game with Street Fighter characters, stick with the Street Fighter Alpha series.

4-0 out of 5 stars going Pro
Okay, okay. I'm not much of a fighter, but hey; I've played Super Street Fighter 2 since I was five on the SNES. It was intriguing, but I was only FIVE!! And I haven't even heard of SNK's King of Fighters until I saw Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO in an arcade.
Anyway, this game is okay. New moves that I'm not use to, but there are easy beginner characters that rock. As an "advanced beginner", I preferred SNK's Terry and King better than Capcom's Ryu/Ken. But hey, get this game if you liked Capcom fighters and are a tired of "one-button fighters" (Super Smash Bros. is one I've played almost endlessly; my term so don't steal!). The different game modes are easily worn out by experts, but not really for advanced beginners (like me, played for at least seven hours the first two days). The ratio system and grooves are very new to me, so took me a while to get used to, but SF/KoF veterans should have no problem. The gallery is interesting (oddly, I think Capcom does a better job w/ SNK characters and vice versa). The bonus gallery is very cool (the Kyo and Sakura one is funny). Great game for two players with equal skill and devotion to SF/KoF.

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm getting it Today!!!
I love it, I've played it in the arcade and it's awsome... it came out a few months ago for the PlayStation, it's still an awsome game, based on every ones elses depthful reviews for this game I'm giving it a 4 stars, but I might change it considering I haven't played any of the home versions!

Yes, I have gotten it Jan. 3rd 2003 and I am glad to day that I am fully entertained by it, but notice my rating hasn't changed, only because of all the loading times, and the super combo and energy bars, too small, they were twice as big in the DC and Arcade versions, plus, the announcer only says, "CAPCOM VS. SNK"
although it reads CAPCOM VS. SNK PRO: MILLENIUM FIGHT 2000, and it only reads CAPCOM VS. SNK PRO on the front cover art of the CD and the Manal. I know, Blah Blah Blah, but it does get confusing though.

4-0 out of 5 stars With a few improvements...
This game could have easily been perfect in my eyes. Don't get me wrong. It blew me away the first time I played it. It still does. But, there are a few things that annoy me:

- I'd like to see some player bios. Granted, I know every Capcom character's life story through the many other Street Fighter games I've played, but what about the SNK side? Why the obvious tension between Iori and Kyo? Raiden seems out of place...what's his deal? I didn't appreciate having to extract what little background info I could from my King of Fighters '95 Game Boy game.
- The intro movie could have been a lot better, as well as the endings. I couldn't help but cringe at the zooming effect on Geese.
- What's up with Morrigan? Every other character looks great except for her. She looks more flat and grainy than the rest, like she was thrown into the game with a lot less effort.
- Being a huge, huge Akuma fan, I almost threw this game away when I discovered that the Shun Goku Satsu was not in the moves list in the accompanying manual. If there's a world without that move, I don't want to live in it. It turns out that he DOES have it, but the only as a MAX "desperation move" (the player's life bar is flashing and the meter is charged to the maximum). The same goes for Morrigan's "Darkness Illusion," but, again, the manual lacks that information.
- Some of the moves are extremely hard to do. It could be argued that I'm just not skilled enough or that my hands aren't what they used to be, but it sure is frustrating sometimes not being able to pull off even one of Geese's super moves.

That sounds like a lot of complaints, but the game does have many strong points. Character strength is based on a ratio system, with 1 being the weakest characters and 4 being the strongest. In Arcade Mode, players get 4 ratio points to spend choosing characters. For example, Yamazaki is a ratio 3 character, so a player could only choose one more character, which would be from the 1 ratio group. Most characters also have an EX version, which can be bought with versus points in Price Mode. Some moves are unavailable in EX mode and some may change. Anyone who has played Street Fighter Alpha 3 with X-ism should find this familiar. EX changes are for the most part not in the instruction manual.

The SNK drawings of characters are fantastic. Color Edit mode allows one to create custom color features for characters, which I find helpful for when I feel like Dan needs to be in a more conservatively colored gi. There are a lot more pre-fight taunts and demonstrations of power than in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Some of the dialogue really makes me want to work harder on my Japanese study, because what they do while they're talking makes what's to come a little more intense. (I'll have to see. Sometimes fighting game talk gets pretty stale.)

All in all, a wonderful effort. Capcom vs. SNK Pro reinforces my belief that the Street Fighter and King of Fighters systems are superior to the competition. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Hours of entertainment
I'm not one for sports type games but this one was so much fun.The characters that you get to choose from is where the fun comes from. The real fun of the single player game is contained in the game's championship mode. Here, you'll select a boxer whose stats will be extremely low. You'll have to work the boxer through the ranks, through three classes. You can fight for cash prizes and then spend the cash on the training of your boxer. The training takes form in a series of little minigames.Do extremely well in the minigames, and you'll get an even higher bonus to your stats. As you move through the ranks, you'll unlock more boxers in the championship mode, and you'll eventually unlock the bosses for play in the arcade mode. The boxers' faces get banged up after a few rounds and their personalities shine through in the ring introductions. The sound of the crowd, including shouts of encouragement from the corner men, brings a lot to the game's atmosphere.Since it's a few years old.. it's a cheap game now but it's one to have in your collection.

4-0 out of 5 stars A FUN GAME
THis is a fun game and has lots of different things to do.Different boxers and bonus players. Its a great gameto buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not to easy.
I thought this game was bad. There is unlockable characters and everything. But there is just no way to win 7 fights. You have to hit the computer a million times with jabs and it will probably lead to a knockdown. You have use this system because the computer crowds you and takes over the fight. If all you want is graphics by all means take, but if you want something more this is a rental style rumble.

4-0 out of 5 stars afro thunder's patna
i've been trying for so very long 2 find out how to knock the referee out the ring, if not that at least hit him... how can i just hit him????

5-0 out of 5 stars michael (The king) feldmanBEST BUY!
This is the best game of all time. All of the boxers improved in terms of graphics. Ready 2 Rumble 2 is the best fighting game on playstation and arguably the best playstation game of all time. I like this game because there are no rules. It is the NFL Blitz 2001 for boxing. it is phat and cool.Pick Afro Thunder. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible! Avoid at all costs!
A horrible game that features all the top stars of the defunct company and no ring whatsoever.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! WcW suks
This game is horrible. Every thing about it is horrible. Please don't even think about buying this stupid game. The grapics, sound, gameplay is wack and is to jerky. If u want a good wcw game wait until they have one. If not get wcw mayhem. Its the best wcw out there. Try other wrestling games like wwf no mercy, wrestlemania 2000, ecw or the best wrestling right now is wwe here comes the pain.

4-0 out of 5 stars WCW Hardcore Fun!
Graphics: It's okay for PS but it could have been way better. Kind of blocky and the faces look like robots.

Sound: Great commentary, yet boring. The themes are simple and boring also.

Gameplay: 2 words: E.Z.

Frusteration: Barely any frusteration once you figure out the controls.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's fun, for a while.
Face it, wrestling games are really fun. This one is not the greatest, but it is alot of fun to bash your opponent with all manner of hardware lying about!I personally got this one just to play as either one of the Outsiders {Hall and Nash}.The quality of the wrestlers appearance is decent but certainly pales to the now reigning Xbox and PS2.Game play is routine and quick to learn.Like I said, it is fun but grows boring quickly.

2-0 out of 5 stars ...and I thought The Grinch was a bad game!
I am a huge WCW fan and I am angry and sad because it doesn't come on any more. I love WCW Mayhem by Electronic Arts, and that was their first wrestling game, and this is their second , but it is something that you dig out of a litter box. I don't like this game because there are only about four weapons laying around and when you use a weapon about three times it turns into dust and that makes it impossible to win a first blood match (they're nearly impossible to win with weapons anyways). Also, the backstage areas that you have to wrestle in are smaller than the wrestling ring itself. There are only about two moves that you can do besides punching and kicking and you have to win a match, which is almost impossible, to unlock a new move. It is also very confusing to even start a match on this game. The graphics would look better if you cracked the television screen with a hammer. WCW Nitro is better than this game. Any wrestling game, even on Atari, if they have a wrestling game for it, is better than WCW Backstage Assault. The only thing this game is good for is to keep a fire burning for a couple of extra minutes. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars WAS OKAY,BUT SERIOUSLY NOW,OUT-OF DATE
(I am reviewing the N64 version)
This was the first wrestling game i ever had and i t marks the new WWF Attitude era(that in cluded the change of the WWF belts and logo).The game has very little features of match types that include Single,Tag-Team,Weapons(now known as HardCore match),Gauntlet(Same as a Slobber Knocker match exept u can leave the ring),Royal Rumble,Cage-Match(older style).The matches are good but The Cage match is the one that has no ropes in the Ring so when you Irsh wip ure oppenent he/she crashes into the steel wall.The commentary is done by the-now WWE RAW commentator Jim Ross and the WWE ChairMan Vince McMahon jr. and its the best commentary ever and is timed well like if 2 opponents arnt fighting J.R. goes "C`mon guys fight,THIS IS a wrestling nmatch" but in games that are even newwer like WWF SmackDown! 3 and you and ure opponent arnt fighting Cole says things like "This match is great!" tats pathetic.The roster is small and include;
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin
Rocky Mavia(know known as The Rock)
"HeartBreak Kid" Shawn Michaels(as D-Generation X member)
Hunter Hearsley Helmsley(now known as Triple H,also a D-Gen X member
Ahmed Johnson
Goldust
ManKind(Mick Foley)
Ken ShamRock
Mosh&Thrasher as "The HeadBangers"
UnderTaker(Old School attire)
Kane(With long hair and tradeMark Mask)
Trainer(A Made Up superstar that is only a Punching bag)
The British BullDog Davey Boy Smith(R.I.P)
Bret Hart(normal super star version, not LEGEND)
Owen Hart(R.I.P)
Some of these wrestlers are still here 2day(ie Stone Cold,The Rock,Mick Foley,KANE and Taker) other have left(ie Bret Hart,Ken ShamRock and The Head Bangers) and sadly some are dead(Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith) all superstars make screams of pain when locked in submission Goldust sounds like a lady when she,i mean he is being hurted. The Challenge mode are just a pyramid of matches going all the way to the WWF championship,I was not a wrestling fan when i got this game in 1998 with my N64 but i still enjoyed it especially Cage,Tag and Weapon matches.there are BETTER Wrestling games out on this platform like No Mercy. CYA LATA

1-0 out of 5 stars ohhh THE PAIN!!!
This wwf game sucks...

Boring...Graphics are alright...It was just plain awful EVEN FOR IT'S TIME!

UGH this game was slowww...ooooooo...Don't get this game..

GET NO MERCY!BEST WWF GAME EVER!...

This game was very dull and boring...

If I could give it a zero I would...THIS GAME FLAT OUT SUCKS!

2-0 out of 5 stars Preety Lame
My 7 yr. old who loves wrestling was not very thrilled with this game.It has many wrestlers who are unknown to him and not very exciting. Also, when you choose a wrestler it takes about 7 seconds after clicking the person's name before seeing a picture of them. This is annoying to my son who usually chooses a wrestler based on how they look but instead has to read their names and click on one who he never heard of and wait around before a picture appears so he can see who they are.Overall, thumbs down. But then again, this may be due to the fact that he already has all the new wrestling games so this outdated one cannot compare.

3-0 out of 5 stars WWF Warzone Review.
This game is ok. When this game first came out, basically like half the wrestlers in the game were no longer in the WWF(WWE). If your a real big WWE fan or someone who wants every single WWE game then you should get this game. But other than that I wouldn't get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars BEST WWF GAME BESIDES THE SMACKDOWNS!!
This game is awesome with a create wrestler section where you can create your dream wrestler. The moves are easy to memorize with smooth controls. With 16 wrestlers (HBK, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Mankind, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Kane, HHH, Farooq, Rocky, Ahmed Johnson, Golddust, Mosh, Thrasher, etc.) Also the ability to unlock DOA, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack, which I havent unlocked yet. The graphics are great for wrestling. Vince McMahon and JR provide sometimes funny comentary. I've played Smackdown 1 and 2 however, and can ya say MAJOR IMPROVEMENT OVER WARZONE!! But now for the glitches of the game... on the biographies they say the Rock is from the South Pacific, he's really from South Florida. The signature moves are pulled off exactly like real life. Challenge is for me (gulp) really challenging. What [stinks] is that there is no Royal Rumble, table, cell, casket, anywhere fall, and tlc matches like Smackdown 2 really bugs me. The wrestlers say catch phrases while wrestling like Bret Hart saying: pink and black attack is back, rock saying: im gonna lay the smackdown on ya. Those that make me laugh are: Mankind squealing and calling his "mommy". Weapon matches disapoint me cause well since when do fans throw weapons to the wrestlers. Plus you can only use a weapon 1-3 times before you instantly drop it. And there is way too many weapons. It's possible to win in 3 minutes with weapons which in my opinion is plain dead stupid. However the good parts of game are GREAT!! If you dont have this or the Smackdowns buy it. You cant be disappointed ... Read more

Editorial Review

Based on a wildly popular Japanese anime series,JoJo'sBizarre Adventure is a fighting game that features 18 weirdcharacters, mostof which have a ghostlike spirit friend called a Stand that can be usedtoperform special moves.

As in other Capcom games, the characters in JoJo's can pull offsupercombos that are easy to execute, devastating, and often hilarious. Inone case,a belly dancer can summon a tidal wave of '57 Chevy cars to knock herfoe on hisback. Together with their Stands, characters can even double-teamopponents,racking up lots of hits with relatively little effort.

Each fighter has his or her own back-story culled from the animeseries, and a super story mode forces players to switch characters as the plotunfolds. While JoJo's might not have the depth of other Capcom games, itcertainlymakes up for its simplicity with an unmistakably odd and fast-pacedstyle.--Robb Guido

4-0 out of 5 stars well..
this game is fun but it might not win the fighting race there's tekken, street fighter, marvel vs. capcom, and mortal kombat but it's made from a little spice called capcom. This spice made rez evil, street fighter, and mega man wich are all great games who knows it might get a 2nd game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Guilty Gears Has Met Its Match
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is sincerely an astonishing mark on how the PlayStation can engineer the art of 2D.The PlayStation is known to be among the weakest machines for managing 2D mêlées, yet Capcom has triumphed to deliver a surprising Fighter. When Marvel Vs. Capcom came out on the PSX, its speed was just a slump of languid gobbledygook.Amending the originalpace, and filled with outrageous and succinct Gameplay, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure winches to a winning presentation.

Although the PlayStation port doesn't bundle as much animation as the arcade version, its own electrical speed is well-above the standard.Full of dashing fury, each fighter has their special and signature moves.Formulated in the ironclad core of 2D engagement, the newest addition to the fighting field is an element called Stance.A Stance is a character's transformation into a more superior warrior.Elevated with raw strength, enhanced blocking, and the unlocking of new combat moves, the activation of a Stance will quickly enfeeble challengers.Shown as a meter, if an opponent should successfully pounce the player while on Stance, a fraction of the bar will disband. When empty, the player will be forced into a neutralized state, allowing the challenger to freely lash a ferocity of attacks.Likewise, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure presents modes ranging from Arcade, Versus, and an in-depth Story Mode.Jam-packed with one-on-one brawling, the breakneck action revolves in an intensity similar to the arcade.

The graphical paste for the PlayStation mirrors an animated fighting scene. Several moves spectacularly blast firepower on the screen. The coloring-scheme goes extremely well with the comely characters.Guilty Gears, a thundering fast and profound fighter, has met its match. However, on the musical plane, the game abates with the existence of shoddy retro Pop.The music, ensuing as a mental distraction, should've been a slashing of brutal guitars and deafening drumming.Enjoying the game, my CD player's volume maximized with real, slamming music.

To its closing stages, fighter fans will genuinely discover that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is an irresistible escape to hand-to-hand mayhem.Thinning out the classical fighting mechanics, the Replay Value has hard-wearing measurements. However, like all Fighters, once a more highly developed one disburses, the hankering for the previously played game is left with a frosting ofdust. After purchasing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for the Dreamcast, I haven't buried myself into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for quite some time, but will hold it in high esteem.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great Japanese anime game
This is a great game from Capcom since the other games start to tone down. I myself am a great Capcom Fan who know Characters' data. The animation is sharp with great playing factors.A friend asked me if any characters from this game would be in Marvel V.S Capcom 3 if there is one at Japan. I told him the movements would change the game because it is only 3 attacks from weak to strong attack. And it might be imposible to try to have a Stand button Pros:Great game play and easy secrets

Cons:The stands should be better in color

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent PSX port!
Unlike a lot of other recent capcom games for the PSX, fans will be glad to find that Jojo's suffers very little despite the limitations of this aging system.A particularly amazing feat given that Jojo's runs on thesame board that Street Fighter 3 does, and that the game often has up tofour people on the screen at once!Although Jojo's is not without itsflaws, this is a very playable and highly enjoyable version. After hoursof game play, the biggest drawback I've noted is the pan-in/pan-out funtionthat the arcade version and dreamcast have (allowing character to spacethemselves out a lot farther).Moves which formerly had limited range nowgo the entire length of the screen, and certain characters (notablyMahrahia) become increasingly annoying without the ability to move out ofthe range of their moves. On the whole though, I am amazed at how muchthey were able to retain for the psx release. As to the game itself, it ishard to say if Jojo's is for everyone. The plot is strange to say theleast (an aspect that might have been aided if I had read the manga), andto make this matter worse, the psx version has omitted the original storymode, turning it into a purely arcade fighting mode. This means you willbe missing the actual story for each character, however the PSX version hasa 'super story mode', which will fill in enough of the gaps for you tofigure out what is going on.Completion of the super story mode is alsosomething you'll want to do (even though it is often less than rewarding)so you can unlock the hidden characters. As to the game itself, Jojo's isin a lot of ways the perfect fighter for the PSX because it uses a fourbutton system instead of the standard six.Although this might make Jojo'sseemed a bit dumbed down, most of the characters weild a 'stand'--a secondcharacter which can fight for the first character (? )The stand is a sortof psychic projection, and actually adds a significant new dimension togame play.Having your stand on gives you access to other moves, preventsyou from taking block damage, activates chain combos and generally givesyou more range. The disadvantages however keep the stand in balence. Stands can be broken making you vulnerable immediately following a standcrush.Stands are often larger then you so can be hit more readily (thisis really notable with Iggy), and while they can often seperate from yourmain character, this sometimes leaves you open to attacks if your opponentgets past your stand. The result of this new system is a far more in depthgame play, where characters are in general closer to Gen then Ryu.Youwill constantly need to be deciding whether to attack with or without yourstand (sometimes super moves without stands are stronger).Another aspectis dodging--a manuver you can't do if you have your stand on.AlthoughJojo's may seem a bit cumbersome at first, repeated plays will reveal thatthis is a very involved and involving game that will earn dozens of hoursof game play. The biggest fault I can find is the lack of a world tour orsurvival mode as the arcade mode is easily beat.Where Jojo's shines is inversus, so if you have a street fighter friend, you will definitely want tobe picking up this title soon. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Bring it onin the OCTAGON
This game rocks all others , no contest!!!!
You can play over 22 fighters ! , multyple modes of play & good sound.some fighters are better than others , I recomend Tito Ortiz , Marco Raos , Bas Rutten & Frank Shamrock. Tons of fun , the game is basically set up by tournements. I completely recomned this game to anyone who likes fighting games.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yo - don't listen to the others - this games got talent!!!!
If ure reading all the other reviews (if they're bad) don't listen!! It's a very good game. The graphics are easily as good as Smackdown 1 or 2(i have them both) and it requires more skill than just kicking the crap out of someone with chairs etc.. Althouigh if u like doing that you can make the oppponent bleed when you hit them enough - hahahaha smackdown don't have that!!!!

Its also gotquite a few modes and the create a character is a good alternative. It takes time to master which is good because after all it would be boring if it were too easy (erm...muttering under my breath SMACKDOWN!!!!)

If you are looking for a more technical game that requires patience and talent (and blood) go for this.......but if you are crap at REAL fighting games (erm.... like smackdown) you woundn't have the skill to play this.

Buy it and see for yourself....

3-0 out of 5 stars Breath Of Fresh Air, But Still Not There
For a true diehard MMA (i.e, UFC, Pride, etc.) fan, this was something long overdue. The graphics are great. The fighter creation program is wonderful. And the game is terribly realistic. However, once one has mastered the basic fighting moves, there is not much else.Often times, your fighter will not perform basic functions on command. Also, I still have yet (after months of playing this game) to figure out how to perform complex manuevors. Most disappointing is the fact that UFC legends such as Ken Shamrock, R. Gracie, Dan Severn, Tank Abbott, Olag Takatarov, and Don Frye are not part of the game. Furthermore, while this is a must for any true MMA enthusiast, there are many things that can be improved on.

2-0 out of 5 stars A Very Frustrating Game
Unless you are a diehard UFC fan you will not enjoy this game. The moves are too difficult to execute. There is no difficulty setting outside the practice mode. Controls are frustrating because, even if you do them by-the-book, you watch your fighter do nothing. The CPU is very difficult to beat.

The fighters are mostly middleweights. None of the UFC greats are in this game. Frank Shamrock& Guy Mezger are the top two. The created fighter feature was a nice addition. The music is pretty good.

I often found myself turning this game off, in frustration, because of the lack of control there is in this game.

3-0 out of 5 stars TAP OUT!
This UFC game is pretty ture to the real UFC and the moves are limited, but the action is there. I say if you are a fan of the UFC then you will like this game, but if you don't know what the UFC is it isn't the game for you. Overrall it is an ok game and I love to see the tap out. ... Read more
