Sega's new NFL 2K is the type of game that makes a very, very good first impression. For starters, this is without a doubt the best-looking sport video game ever produced on any platform--hands down. Not only are the players more detailed and lifelike than in any other game we've seen, but they move fluidly and with such an impressive array of animations that it's sometimes hard to forget you're playing a game and not just watching one on TV. You can even see the breath of each player during cold-weather games--we're talking graphical realism here, make no mistake. But NFL 2K goes way beyond skin-deep. This is an excellent football game, with gameplay that's easy to pick up at novice level but hard to master as you increase the level of difficulty. The game's controls are the most intuitive of any we've seen, and the playcalling interface is simply the best that anyone has ever come up with for a football title. And just when you think it can't get any better, you discover features like the full-league fantasy draft, a tutorial mode, extensive game and season statistics, and excellent play and player creation options. Put simply, this game makes every other football game on every other platform look dated. Even the play-by-play and color commentary are better and more fluid than any we've seen elsewhere. If you have even a passing interest in football and are planning to pick up a Sega Dreamcast console, you owe it to yourself to get this game as well. It is the new standard by which all future football--and sports--games will be judged.--Michael Ryan ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Good looks, awful gameplay
Don't pay a penny for this, folks. Move on to an EA game. There is very little in the way of actual physics calculations between players in this game, every interaction is merely a scripted animation. RBs are stopped in full stride by shoestring tackles. WRs run their routes at half speed while the DBs shadow them *IN FRONT* of their routes. Offensive line programming is horrible. Guards and tackles blow assignments on EVERY play, doubling up on a DT and allowing LBs to come free and tackle the RB at the handoff. There is no player momentum, a flaw I've noticed in a number of Sega Sports games, meaning any player can stop in mid-stride and immediately run full stride in the opposite direction. Sit back and watch the computer play: 3and out, 3 and out, 3 and out... This was an incomplete game that should not have been released. So what if it looks pretty? It plays like crap.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost great.
The 2K1 version of this game is much better, if for only one reason:you can actually gain yards rushing.Just try to have a 1,000 yard season with any premier back in this (2K) version.Other than that, great graphics, good game speed, and all the bells and whistles any sports game geek can handle!

5-0 out of 5 stars for the Sega DreamCast
I thought with Playstations Madden 99 I had the only football game I'd need for years. But when my brother got the Game Cube, Playstation 2, and XBox, he gave me his Dreamcast, and a few games along with it, NFL 2K being one of them. Turns out, this is a great game. The graphics are good and game play is as good as anything on Playstation. You can force trades to create your dream team, and while you can't play a franchise, you can save your season. The passing game is a little easy, bu it makes up by making a tougher running game. And lik most of Dream Cast's sports games, it is well done and fun. Would I pick this over Madden 99? probably not, but it is a nice addition, and the two games are fun to own together.

5-0 out of 5 stars NFL 2K: An Instant Classic
Ok, so i guess you want NFL 2K1 or 2K2, right? Why would you be reading this if you wanted 2K1 or 2K2. Oh.. don't have the dough. I see. Well, this game is the start of the best football game intallment ever to grace a console. Trust me, you'll still have the same amount of intensity and sweaty handed fun in NFL 2K as in 2K1 or 2K2. Let me put it this way, short and sweet (I hate writing about a game's details, in fact im going to go play it right after Im done typing this)this game is the only game you will ever need! As soon as you buy this game you will be addicted to it and play it at least on a daily basis. Does that sound good enough? Well, it should. Listen, this game is really inexpensive right now, so if you have a Dremcast, go out and BUY THIS GAME!! Now! Alright, cool, I hafta go play this game now. Later~

1-0 out of 5 stars BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD
Indeed, this game looks like it was put together by a bunch of first graders.Every function of the game-gameplay, sound, graphics-are laughable.Anyone in their right mind would take this godforsaken joke ofa game back within hours after their purchase. Thus garbage makes some old8-bit NES game look magnificent by comparison; this will make you wonder ifAcclaim Sports is just trying to get some laughs out of it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid at all costs
This game has nice graphics and sound. Unfortunately, the gameplay is so horrible, I cannot believe this game was play-tested before its release.

The controls are more complicated than necessary. For example, threeseparate buttons must be pressed to complete a pass, one to fade back, another to select a receiver, and finally another to catch the ball. Youhave very little time to do this even at the easiest level. Even if youkeep backs in to block, you rarely have more than 2 seconds to complete apass. Even bad rushing teams can sack the QB 10 times per game playing 5minute quarters. This is not realistic, which is consistent with the restof the game.

Passing is also blind, since your perspective is from behindthe QB, you rarely see the receivers and have no idea what the coverage is.Your completion success has little to do with these factors, which arecritical in the real game. It's easy to complete passes once you get theknack of pushing the right buttons quickly, but there is little sense ofaccomplishment when your success or throwing has nothing to do withthrowing to the open receiver or exploiting a weakness in the defense.

Infact, the type of defense called seems to have no effect on the outcome ofa given offensive play. You can stack the line against the run, completelyplug the hole, and the computer running back will stay on his feet for 10seconds, then break into the secondary for a long TD. This can happen withmediocre backs and excellent defenses. Conversely, the computer willroutinely complete long passes into triple coverage and score longtouchdown passes against a prevent defense.

Despite the difficult andnon-responsive controls, once you get the hang of passing, you'll throw oneTD pass after another. Interceptions are few and far between. Ridiculouslyhigh scores are common even when playing 5 minute quarters.

I tried toplay a season with my favorite team, and gave up after two games becausethe gameplay was so unrealistic and irritating.

Another annoying featureis if you want to switch players, you can only do so for one play at atime. Playing the Rams, I wanted to use Kurt Warner instead of Terry Green. The game allows you to switch them by formation, so if you haven't decidedon a formation, it won't work if you happen to choose a differentformation. After the play is completed, the game reverts to the defaultplayer setting. Extremely annoying.

I gave it 1 star because that was thelowest rating possible. It deserves 0 stars. Sega's NFL2K is far farbetter.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible, THE WORST DREAMCAST GAME YET
See Jack Buy-See Jack Play-See Jack cry Ok first i gave it a one because there was nothing lower. This game tried to challenge NFL 2K and didn't even get as good as Super Nes Football. Before this game i never thought afootball game could stink so much. Linemen running as fast as DeionSanders. I rented it and returned it 5 minutes later. FOR THE SAKE OF YOURJOY DON'T BUY THIS GAME OR ACCEPT IT AS A GIFT!

3-0 out of 5 stars QB Club Needs WORK
Graphics are great but trying to catch the football is a big enough challenge to make a grown man cry. NFL 2K IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THIS GAME. Skip this one and purchase NFL 2K

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst then Genesis football
This game was so undeserving of any rating. It is so bad, special rating systems need to be put in for games that deserve a rating that goes below 0. Control is lackluster and awkward, the frame rate drops way below whatthe Dreamcast can handle, and the gameplay is above par (which is bad). Itlooks like 1st graders created this title. Acclaim did a horrible jobputting this together. It is NOT worth a first look. If you want alicsensed NFL game, heavily consider NFL2K, which is well better than thisgarbage. Definetly neck and neck with Soul Fighter as Worst Dreamcast game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It can be best described as Tomb Raider...with fun and style
Prince of Persia: Arabian Nights is a great game for the Dreamcast! The game reminds me of Tomb Raider (which sucked) but has a lot more to offer...a lot more.

The game is a game designed for "the thinking gamer." Thats right, if you're one of those that get headaches from thinking while playing games then pass this one up. The game is loaded with action but you'll have to use your brain to discover what to do. I can't tell you how much fun and challenging this is.

The only downfall is that when you discover what to do it will no longer be challenging after you beat the game.

The graphics are decent and you do get the Arabian atmosphere when you play. This is a game for the gamer that wants a true challenge. If you're not into thinking then you can pass this one up.

1-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE-BORING!
prince of persia has some of the worst graphics ive seen on DC. Every room in the game is almost exactly the same thing. there is no action. you walk around and try to get to the next room. Try buying Skies of Arcadia(best game ever), sonic or anything other than this.

5-0 out of 5 stars WAY FUN!
If you've played any of the PofP games, this one is outstanding, the best!Be prepared to use thinking and obversation skills, this is not just a game of sword fighting.Oh yes, there is sword fighting, but I consider that secondary to the main game which is to navigate through the levels avoiding the endless booby-traps and trying to figure out how to get from one place to the other and using the objects you find.Music is very good, matched perfectly with the events in progress.I crave this game and hope more are on the way. But, not everything is perfect, you can only save at save points and the sword fighting is a bit clumsy although you can get used to it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rousing action and adventure
This is a nice port of a pc game to the DC something I would like to see more of.In this game you play a sword wielding, turban wearing adventurer who must pass the most perilous of tests. The game plays alot like the tomb raider series. It is 3rd person perspective and is full of alot of purple hues. There are several puzzle types throughout the game and countless sword swinging encounters with baddies. There are many areas to explore and goggle at and the length of the adventure is adequate. The sound and graphics look great on the DC, and the controls are fairly easy after a little practice. If you played the original POP or are looking for some action adventure video gaming pick it up you will enjoy yourself. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Sega employees wrote the previous reviews
This game is nothing like Spawn. This game is garbage. I own Powerstone, and Spawn for the DC, and they are both waaaaaaaay beter than Heavy Metal Geomatrix!!!!

First of all, there is no cpu controlled partner. This makes it extremely difficult to beat it on one player. On the last 2 levels, the boss has a partner and you have to beat both of them by yourself. In order to beat the game, I had to force a friend to unwillingly play with me.

The arenas for this game are very samll, each stage is just a flat plane. There are no hidden rooms, caves, allyways etc.

The characters move very slowly, and they have a small variety of weapons. There are no power ups for speed or weapon damage.

I am a fan of Heavy Metal magazine so I expected a great game. This just turned out to be a big disoppintment. Shame on you Sega.

3-0 out of 5 stars A fun game with no depth
Heavy Metal Geomatrix has all the things a game needs to be awsome for about an hour:A large selection of high powered weapons and some badass music.Sadly, the game lacks several things that would keep it entertaining beyond that first spin, like complex and varied arenas or characters with unique abilities and play styles.

The actual arenas in this game are all rather compact, with either a hill or a wall to lamely spice things up.They don't have any personality, or fun additions like, say, the obstical filled levels in smash brothers have.It becomes about as dull as you'd expect playing on what's basically the same level over and over.

The characters are similarly generic. There's 4 teams of three fighters, but the teams don't mean anything other than cosmetic differences. The only real distinctions between the characters is whether they're guy, girl, or brute.Girls are fast, Brutes are strong, guys are balanced. Each character DOES have a specific set of starting weapons, but once the match begins you'll quickly use it up or grab a new one anyways. There's no special moves, feel or play style to any of the fighters, you can pretty much do the same stuff with any of them. It's hard to tell if you've even changed characters between matches.

Chaos matrix mode does add some extra enjoyment. You basically cruise around in various arenas made of blocks trying to kill enemies and/or grab keys and then exit before time runs out. Most of these are way too short and easy, but a few actually take place in a large and interesting (though made of blocks) arenas against a challenging assortment of opponents. But unless you feel like replaying them over and over to beat your high scores, they'll get old fast.

If you've already got some good battling games, pick up HMG to add some variation to you and your friends' gaming. But don't expect too much. This game, while certainly not bad, is still just %100 collection filler.

4-0 out of 5 stars If you thought Power Stone was crazy...
...then just wait till you play this.Heavy Metal: Geomatrix is undoubtedly crazier than Power Stone, with better weapons, blood, gore, and great headbanging music. One of the better fighters on the Dreamcast, this is essential for all Dreamcast owners.

4-0 out of 5 stars Explosive No-frills Arena Combat
Explosive.Loud.Action-packed.That's what this Heavy Metal game is, a violent unity of "free-roam" fighters Powerstone and Spawn, backed by an excellently matched bunch of apparently well-known metal-rock bands and superb 60 fps graphics.

What Heavy Metal is not, is "deep".There are basically three modes, two being obvious (the standard arcade mode and a simple Versus mode). The third is an interesting mix of Arcade gameplay with mision objectives and point scores (Arcade is simply a "beat the best finish time" type). But ultimately you're just running and gunning around small 3D arenas, intent on finding that new gun powerup that will allow you to blow up, or enflame, or slice...rather than just kickbox your foe to death.

Still, Heavy Metal Geomatrix is truly Dreamcast-worthy in appearance and speed. And despite relatively simple base mechanics, it can become very tough to take out the AI at higher levels (where they take 2 of the best characters and throw them at you together and with a vengeance).

Overall, the game is highly recommended to fill these two niches in your gaming library: 1) having fun in Versus blowing up your visiting friends, or 2) an ever-ready quick-blast arcade experience in Arcade modes. This kind of game is the exact opposite of a stats-laden sports game or rpg, which means that you won't plan to set aside hours to play it at time. But it may just work out that way...!

4-0 out of 5 stars Delayed, but worth the wait.
The dying Dreamcast system was hardly calling out for another arcade fighting game, but 'Heavy Metal: Geomatrix' could be seen as one of the more interesting ones. It's a go-anywhere 3-D fighter with weapons, much like Capcom's innovative 'Power Stone' series. Players start each match with a default weapon, such as a bazooka, machine gun, or beam sword. The guns are especially cartoony but offer some amusing and destructive effects, plus each has a 'special' feature. Other weapons and items such as jet packs can be picked up, but players must use caution as enemy attacks cannot be blocked, and only one weapon can be held at any one time. Characters in the game range from post-apocalyptic warlords and dominatrix types to bounty hunters and military sergeants. I enjoyed both 'Power Stone' games, so I was easily able to settle into combat. This leads me to the game's biggest fault: it's not that difficult on the default setting. The first few enemies will actually run away from you and into a wall, waiting to be blasted. The action eventually gets heated as you face two enemies at once (with no block button, I remind you), and the difficulty and damage settings can be tweaked. The weapons are nothing new, just BIG, and there's not enough emphasis on hand-to-hand fighting. The graphics and effects in 'Geomatrix' are edgy and colorful, as one would expect of Capcom. If you like 'Heavy Metal', quick fighting games, and a great rock soundtrack, you should check out this little gem. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is horrible!
This game was very difficult to play.Troop movements are near impossible because the soldiers are so small.Game play was very poor.It is basically the French version of Command and Conquer, but with very poor play characteristics.I would not recommend buying this game.

1-0 out of 5 stars STINKS
I first got this game for Christmas and thought it would be great but I was wrong.I first started playing and there were bad graphics, bad gameplay and it would take forever to complete one mission since your troops would have to go around this world finding bad guys. Purely...poor.I can see why Dreamcast is going down.

4-0 out of 5 stars More for less
For 20 dollars this is not a bad game.Sure it's all been done on the computer but as the first RTS game for the dc it's not a horrible game.Like many other RTS games it has the basic army and enemy action, auto fighting, a lot of missions, and multiple campaigns. It also adds the element of the media, you must portray the other team as the bad guys and you as the peacemakers. If you kill civilians in front of the media you will get a bad rep.But if your enemy bombs civilians and you defeat them you will become more respected. This aspect of the game makes it stand out from the rest. When I first got it I was surpised at how easy it was to adjust to the controller instead of a basic mouse and keyboard. After you turn down the map scroll speed things are a lot better. The graphics are nothing special, unless you zoom in a whole lot to really get in on the action. Then some lag comes into play. The sound on the game is basic.Overall if you do not have the computer version of this and would like to pick up one last NEW dreamcast game then this one is for you.

1-0 out of 5 stars ESPN DISAPPOINTMENT BASKETBALL.
THIS WILL BE SHORT THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS GAME WAS ESPN ANNOUNCER STEWART SCOTT.THAT ALL.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Man, I luv this game, this and QB Club are my favorite.

1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING READ THIS REVIEW!
This is a horrible basketball game, the graphics aren't something to be proud of nor something to puke at, but this is just horrible. Almost every aspect of it I hate. The person who said this was FANTASTIC! has obviously never played any other basketball games or knows alot about video games. This is one of the slowest basketball games I have ever played, and he said it was fast! Is that person serious or anyone else who agrees with his review! Shooting in this game is out of control as in, when you are shooting the ball the player isn't facing the basket, then a few second into the air his body turns and releases the ball, it seems as if your having a seizure in the air and snap out of it when your releasing the ball. It is extremely easy to get the ball stolen and the crossovers are weak. You have to be very careful when passing the ball because if the defender is anywhere near it he will steal it. This overall is the worst basketball game I have ever played in my entire life. If you want a good basketball game get NBA2K1 or NBA2K2, they are much much better, and if you are going to buy this game don't expect anything from it, nothing at all!

2-0 out of 5 stars Hate It
This Game Is So Awful. I Have Never Played A Game That Awful It's The Worst Dreamcast Game There Is. I Advise You Don't Get It.

1-0 out of 5 stars THE WORST GAME EVER!!!
The game is so bad that it is kind of embarassing it is a Dreamcast game!! The game is so badly finished it makes u laugh! The game has very little realism and is not fun to play. ... I brought the game originally because it was a lot cheaper that NBA 2K1, i thought because i love basketball sooo much that almost every b-ball game would answer my desire for a basketball game. the basketball game is fun but im not a big basketball fan.

the football game is the best. it as great graphics and is easy to get the hang of also.

if you have a dreamcast buy this. shiping is about 4.40

5-0 out of 5 stars A very great deal, for some very great games.
Ok, Here goes:
I cannot praise this deal enough. You get NBA 2k1, NFL 2k1, and World Series 2k1 all for 5 dollers! NBA, and NFL are great hits, however World Series is horrible. Its not that big a deal that one of them sucks so much being the money your saving (NFL and NBA are worth it alone). The Graphics are great, the gameplay is fun! All I can say further is "Thanks Sega!"

Its a good deal. Those ladies on the bottem who gave them a weak rating are pretty dumb. They expected a console to come with the sports pack of games?Maybe they should have read the part on top which says (does not include console).

Although these games are kind of old now, i still gave them 5 stars, just to make up for the one stars below. It's not the games fault that you didn't read the text.

4-0 out of 5 stars Three Solid Games
This package has 2 fantastic games in NFL 2K1 and NBA 2K1. The World Series Baseball 2K1 is decent but I would recommend the 2K2 version, with struts superior gameplay and graphics. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game is good for the Wrestling fanatic like me that will play any wrestling game relased.Once you learn how to play this game it gets cool.

3-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A WRESTLING GAME!
This game is one of the most complete WWFgames out their today! It has lots of match modes like triple threat, one on one,tag team, cage, etc. Including a career match. Its kind of like a season were you pick one good wrestler to fight for you for a series of months. You have diffrent match types during that strech. As you win your ranking gets higher on diffrent levels. The more you win the matches get higher and higher. If you win all your mathes you get speacial attributes like cloths, wrestlers ,etc.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough in this day and age.
Even though the graphics for this version were far smoother than the N64 and PS1 versions of Attitude, a simple graphic upgrade just doesn't cut it. After playing the COMPLETE disappointment that was Royal Rumble, I was hoping that Attitude would be at least a semi-decent improvement over the original Attitudes. But regardless, after playing Smackdown! and WWF Wrestlemania 2000, games that represented wrestling to its fullest on the consoles, Attitude shows that the era of the slow, clunky, overly complicated wrestling game is thankfully over (unless you have the misfortune of playing Acclaim's ECW games.) The controls are slightly less awkward than flying a space shuttle. The graphics, though smooth, are very flat, and with a system like the Dreamcast, there's just no excuse for that. The sound is nice, although the speech is somewhat annoying, and most of the theme songs are two years old (though I still like the Rock's old theme.) Not only that, but half of these guys either aren't around anymore, but have changed so much in two years that it's comical to see them represented here. Acclaim isn't as guilty of putting out garbage as THQ, since Acclaim lost their WWF contract and had to stop making WWF games after Attitude, but Attitude is nothing more than an attempt to sell a wrestling game to people who bought Dreamcast and can't find any good ones (the best, Fire Pro, is only available in Japan. Grr.) I would only recommend this as a option for the wrestling fanatic who has nothnig but a Dreamcast. Otherwise, any of THQ's PS1 and N64 WWF games utterly destroy this one. But of course, they're much newer, so it's not COMPLETELY Acclaim's fault. But for my money, that doesn't matter. Rent once and forget.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alright
This game is alright...it's a very good game for being ruushed like it was, but it could be a lot better. The graphics are good, faces look bad, wrestlers are kinda blocky, and the crowd is a little generic. It has many types of matches...Royal Rumble, hardcore...and you can create your own Pay-Per View. The sound is good, esp. Stone Cold.

It's not a bad game, but rent it first. You'll probably be happy with it, but don't chance it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game is great! This game has the best create your own wrestler feature then any other game. The moves a hard at first but you get used to them. The gameplay is slow at times but for the most part it's good. The only other problem is the wrestlers are outdated and don't have some super stars like: The Dudleyz, Hardyz, and Y2J. But dont be discouraged by that...GET THE GAME! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Packed with all the energy and over-the-top moves of a Jackie Chan movie, Power Stone revitalizes the fighting game genre with fully functional 3-D combat environments and frenzied strategy. Face your opponent in a London courtyard and you can hurl café chairs and tables at him before taking him out by swinging around a lamppost. Or fight in a dilapidated shopping mall, and beat your foe down with a giant stuffed teddy bear after tossing him through a storefront window. Each multilevel combat area is stocked with crates, barrels, clubs, even ray guns, and everything can be used as a weapon.

Interactive fighting environments are fun, but what really sets Power Stone apart are the power stones. Collecting all three stones transforms the character into a superbeing, unlocking new and devastating attacks. Since the overall goal of the game is to beat up your opponent, and the superform lets you do the most damage, competition for the stones is fierce.

If you're tired of the standard fighting game formula and want a little more, Power Stone is the game for you. It's a perfect translation of the arcade hit, and the uncomplicated, frantic combat will bring a grin to many a jaded gamer's face. --Mike Fehlauer

1-0 out of 5 stars ONE TRICK PONY PLAYERS WOULD LOVE THIS GAME
If you want a game that you can master in 5 mins with any character then POWER STONE IS IT. I beat the game as I got it once I discovered "the formula"...

I'll list the pros and cons to give you a fair rundown

Pros
1) Characters are unique and fun with personality, i.e. personal story, ending etc (missing from PS2)
2) Backrounds are the BOSS and fully interactive
3) The moves and effects are radical (King Capcom shines here)
4) Fast action
5) Cool Japanese voices

Cons
1) One dimensional fighting sucks as a 3D fighting game!!
2) Weapons make no sense once you know the formula! They just slow you down and make you a prime target for the formula!!

Overall
Overall this is a DISAPPOINTING attempt at a fighting game. The concept is good but the fighting engine is flawed. Powerstone 2 got it right and is a blast, read my review!

5-0 out of 5 stars The craziest 3D fighter game yet!
Capcom goes all out on animation, action, and humor with this 3D fighter game.It is a whole lot better when you play with two people despite the fact their are unlockables in the game. There are also mad moves you can do off poles, walls, on other miscelaneous objects found in the game.I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to play Capcom or Squaresoft games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great New Spin-Off From Classic Game
This is a great new adventure for fans of Q*Bert.Although some of the sound effects are awkward, all of the original characters are there, plus more of the ones that never appeared in the classic game.Game play is still adictive, and the layout changes with each board.
Definitly recomended to those who like classic games, and don't mind seeing new worlds and stories for classic characters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as fun as Mario Kart!
As a fan of SP I really like this game, the goal for each level is rarely to finish the race in first place, must levels involve collecting items or damaging other opponents. With lots to unlock, this game is great for one player, or multiplyer, any South Park fan should pick this up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not just for fans (?)
South Park is a killer show, but lets face it Chef's Luv Shack left MUCH to be desired from the average fan of the show and casual gamer.South Park Rally is hilarious, cute, and rude at the same time. The graphicsare, well South Park-ish, but Cartman and friendz get to pop out of their2D worlds and actually have *gasp* graphic depth. There are plenty ofraces to choose from, and some of them are even challenging...but this game(like Luv Shack) is best in multiplayer mode. It's sic fun throwing saltyballs at your friends and [vomiting] on them as they try to pass you.The loadtime is pretty annoying, waiting for each race to load, but each track isworth the wait. There are plenty of characters to choose from, and anexclusive Dreamcast track (the graphics are also tweaked and much betterthan the Playstation version)...I have yet to get bored with this game.Ifyou're not a fan, I'd recommend renting it first...but I think you'll loveit.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best racing game!
I have been playing more traditional racing games. This is the first of this kind that I played. It was really fun.Unlike other racing games, you can do dirty tricks to win!The graphic is OK.It's South Park.Whatdo you expect? The courses are a bit challenging at advanced levels, butit still is very enjoyable. The only things that I didn't like was theloading time.I had to wait about 10 seconds for the game to load everytime I do a new race. The beginning sequence always shows the logos andthe usual South Park song which cannot be turned off, so you have to spendat least 20 seconds looking at those things everytime you turn on themachine. But I think it is worth the wait. ... As first-person shooters go, Rainbow Six is to Dreamcast what GoldenEye 007is to the Nintendo 64: the most innovative and intriguing title of its kind for the platform. Borrowed fromTom Clancy's novel of the same name, Rainbow Six offers a fascinating first-person adventurethrough lush worlds and highly detailed environments that have yet to be seen on gaming consoles. Butdon't stop to smell the roses too often or you'll end up staring down the business end of an oncomingStinger missile.

You command an elite antiterrorism force through a series of stealth and action missions. Sometimes youwill need to sneak through a foreign embassy in the dark with your night vision goggles on, while othertimes you'll need to launch a full-on weapons attack on your enemies. The game does both types ofmissions well, but you'll have to spend some time planning with your team before you start each level.Plotting out missions in advance and positioning team members lends a unique real-time strategy feel to thealready excellent shooter aspect of the game.

As the team leader, you are solely responsible for making sure each mission goes well. Direct and protectyour squad, save any hostages who might be hanging around, and accomplish your main missionobjectives. The latter may include sabotage, simple spying, or even assassinations. Good luck. --BillHutchens

Pros:

  • Perfect mix of first-person shooting and strategy

  • Foes boast realistic intelligence

1-0 out of 5 stars A HUGE Letdown...
I really wanted to like this game. I wanted to play it ever since I got my Dreamcast. After many delays, it finally came out, so I rented it. Good thing that's all I did. I'm sorry to report, but this is a horrible game. But why? First off, are the graphics. While they're certainly not the worst I've ever seen, they really leave too much to be desired, especially for the fact that this is a Dreamcast game. You can see the polygons sticking out of the characters and they don't look realistic at all. I've seen N64 games that look better than this. Heck, I've seen Playstation 1 games that look better. The next problem are the controls. They are the worst part of this game. Using the X, Y, B, and A buttons to move isn't bad, but on default, A moves foward and Y moves back. MDK2, Fur Fighters, Quake 3, and almost every other shooter on the DC uses the same X, Y, B, and A movement setup, but after playing those far better games where A moved back and Y moved foward, it's difficult to change.Mercifully, you can change this setup (but unfortunately, only the X, Y, B, A movement setup) to match the other games mentioned above. That's not the end of the control woes, however. With cumbersome menus and 37 commands put into the Dreamcast controller, without support for the Dreamcast Keyboard, it makes the game a REAL pain to learn and makes it barely playable. I can assure you, the controls are much worse than they sound. Not to mention the fact that you can't customize anything but the moving controls (mentioned above) to your liking. Plus, the loading times are too darn long. But there's something good about this game. The sounds are very good and draw you into the action, and the voicework is above average. But that's sadly it. I was hoping for a good spy game like Goldeneye, but with more emphasis on stealth and on the Dreamcast, but I just wasn't that lucky. Don't bother wasting your time with this piece of junk. Instead, skip it and go immediately to Perfect Dark. This game had so much potential, and it's a real shame that it couldn't come together.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
Rainbow Six is a great port of the PC game. The graphics aren't the best, but everything else makes up for it. The sound is wonderful. I haven't finished the game yet but so far it has been challenging and fun. Buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing shooting Dreamcast game
Rainbow Six is one amazing game. You just what the U.S. Army is doing right now in Afghanistan. You are with an anti-terrorist group which tries to stop terrorists from bombing buildings and other terrorist acts.

You and your group do drills to train for your missions. The only bad part is the missions and choosing all of your stuff takes a long time....A VERY LONG TIME.....

After you have all of your weapons and materials you go on over 21 different missions. You kill terrorists and try to save hostages by getting past the terrorists guarding them who will shoot you right when they see you which causes a problem. It is nearly impossible to save the hostages.

On your missions you also go to certian areas and get ready to make your attack on the enemies. Then its time to attack with your sweet guns. This game is a great shooting simulator that will attract many people who enjoy hunting or shooting with guns.

This game is almost too realistic which isn't all that bad, but bad when it comes to you getting killed all the time when you go on certain missions.

If you are looking for some fun with your Dreamcast...this is the game to get.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not that bad
From some of the reviews you could imagine a horribly mutated game with the worst graphics this side of Fighting Force 2. Not so. Although the graphics are a bit bland, they are by no means bad. They are some what realistic and add to atmosphere of the R6 world.

I like this game very much. It's very realistic, sometimes to realistic.

The cons are minor glitches such as getting stuck on walls while climbing or stepping, which really hinders you in the stealth levels. I have yet to actually finish the game due to the insane difficulty level, but what I have seen is impressive.

Story: 9/10
Graphics: 6/10
Sound: 6/10
Fun: 7/10

Showing off the extreme attitude of the arcade smash hit NBA Jam, Midway's NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC brings intense two-on-two arcade-style hoops to the Dreamcast. The emphasis is on fanatical basketball, with gravity-defying dunks and over-the-top animations. The game lets you select from 140 actual superstars representing all 29 NBA teams. Throw in wacky unlockable players such as team mascots and characters from other Midway games, and NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC is a fun departure from the more down-to-earth basketball simulations.

Complementing the goofy gameplay is a feature-rich player editor, where you can customize everything from your created player's height, weight, and ability to clothing and facial features. With a TV-style presentation and impressive visuals, this is one hoops game that any arcade sports fan will enjoy. Simply put, if you liked NBA Jam, you'll love NBA Showtime. --Sajed Ahmed

3-0 out of 5 stars NBA JAM on Steroids
If you're going to buy this game, ask yourself a question, Did I like NBA JAM on SNES? If the answer is YES then buy this game. If the answer is NO and you want a more realistic basketball game go for NBA 2K or NBA 2K1. The gameplay is much the same is NBA JAM, 2 buttons each for turbo, shoot/jump & pass/steal. This is a fun game, don't get me wrong, but I also enjoyed NBA JAM back in the day. Creating a player is very worth it, as you tend to feel a connection with your player. As you progress your character gets stronger, faster and so on as you distribute attribute points both from answering trivia questions and from winning games. So, ask yourself that one little question, and base your decision off that.

5-0 out of 5 stars The fast speed b-ball game (great!)
This is about the best basketball game for Nintendo 64 (I think). You can do every thing in it.Creat players, make a hot spot for your player, do insane dunks and insane shots.Make your player look crazy, have him be a team mascot, make him have an afro, make him look like shaq, kobe and much more! You can change your player so that he can be short, tall, fat, skinny, good at 3's bad at 3's good/bad at dunks and so much more.I like this game because it is fast paced not like some other games. This is a fast pace game if your are winning by 10 you most likely won't be winning by far for long. This game is also a 2 on 2 game (which I like), because it is a lot easyer to find who you are.The only bad thing (this is not that bad it is sort of cool) is that if you are the shortest that you can get (5'8") you can pack (block) someone who is 6'9"!

2-0 out of 5 stars Did they even put an effort into this?
I didn't want to be too insultive, so I put a 2. Anyway, only a 2 on 2 match and horrible graphics and the easiest shots to make and the unrealistic dunks and the dumbest heads of the created players? I'm glad I only borrowed this game from my friend because I would never buy it. I suggest you never do, either.

1-0 out of 5 stars [Price].....for this?!?!?!?!?
I bought NBA Showtime with the purchase of my Dreamcast hoping for some real basketball. I was sure disappointed. After playing it twice I put it away for good. The game is stupid. NBA Showtime has the worst gameplay ever. The computer can jump 50 feet in the air to make a block then swish a full-court shot. The graphics are terrible. The players' muscles' are bigger than their heads and they look very unrealistic.

This game blows! It's just like NFL QB Club except for basketball, an NBA 2KX wannabe!

Do not buy this game.Midway sure know's how to [mess] games up!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Game Ever!
After buying my Dreamcast used with alot of games, I just noticed that this is the last game I tried out, and the first game that I put away. The gameplay is the shallowest ever. I didn't play (or look at) thisgame since I tried it for the first time. The graphics are extremely bad. The players look very unrealistic. The colors in this game are very bad and dark. the entire game looks like an N64 game.

That's about all I have to say about this NBA 2K1 WANNABE GAME!!!

I hope that this review was helpful to you. ... Read more

TrickStyle is one of the most stylishly pleasing games. And theDreamcast version really pumps out the pixels with fluid animation that effortlesslyfollows the hoverboard riders along the tracks. One of the game's designers recentlyexplained that the concept behind the game was for riders to find the path of leastresistance, taking one graceful path down the track like "a drop of mercury." Greatconcept. But this drop met many a brick wall on its way to uncertain victory. The tracksin TrickStyle are not player-friendly, and neither are the computer-controlledopponents that act more like flawless robots than flesh-and-blood competitors.

Still, this game looks so darn cool, you can't resist playing it. The requisite tricks fromsnowboarding games are here, but this time they actually add important power-ups toyour repertoire, favoring function over, dare we say, style. 1-0 out of 5 stars Futuristic Racing it is, Fun its not!
A title such as Trickstyle has great potential but suffers for designers with little vision! When playiing this game you WILL get the feeling that it needs more. You will go away feeling short changed. The graphics are cool but the control is not. this game is basically flat with little replay value, the tracks are TOO SHORT and there is no real element in the game that makes it a worthy purchase.

PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Secret Codes makes it easier
A few people don't like the game because its difficult to beat. But if you go to any of the popular game websites, you can get free codes which alow you to win ever race, select every hover board, and every stage.

The graphics are great and you get to do a lot of outrageous moves.

4-0 out of 5 stars I would love to see a sequel!
This is still one of my fave DC racing games. There's a futuristic design style that... isn't poorly created, like most games, this is very cool, it feels like a future world. Also, as you're riding, when you fall from a high height or low height, this gives a sense of reality, like you are actually living the opening scene from the original 'Rollerball' film or a hoverboard version of 'Bullit's car chase. I hated having to do Tricks, so maybe a sequel could change the name to "____Style". Thankfully, I didn't have to do tricks much at all. There aren't too many tracks, some feel the same, but they all have worthwhile, unique elements. Racing against a friend may not be easy, as they should learn the course beforehand. I didn't feel the computer was cheating me out of a win I deserved, I feel this game has a fairly normal difficulty level -- it suited me right. I wished I could play tracks as difficult as the last one! Online play for a sequel would be great, can you imagine going against a capable human player on Japan #5 or so? During it I felt as though I was actually playing this game, instead of just driving past scenery with other character models. There are some dodgy control issues, but how should a hoverboard control? The control has equally beneficial abilities too. I enjoyed the Challenges a fair amount too, the VMU game is to be ignored... I disliked the obnoxious characters, and didn't find them 'cool', they are one-note stereotypes and pretty much just dress in a GAP/popstar/jock/foreign-superman way, I wanted to see futuristic punk clothes or something! You may not like this game, but I love it. The music could be better, but it could be worse too, it does what it needs to do, it can be somewhat ambient in it's own techno way, it could've been as unique as the game itself. I wish I could save cheat options like no time limit. This would be an ideal Xbox racer, but it's gorgeous on DC. At least rent to see if it's for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trickstyle
Trickstyle is an awesome 3-d game for tony hawk pro skateboarder game lovers. its like the same thing, but you are on hover boards. lots of characters to chooese from.

3-0 out of 5 stars how to used the card
interact didnt help with how the card works. it took me one day to get to know how the card works. the card have 4 setting. each one has 200 blocks of memory. you can not jump from setting to setting.the setting is on the back of the card number 1 to 4.remeber each number has 200 blocks of memory. 200 blocks times 4 is 800. for those who think the card has only 200 blocks. you must turn off the dreamcast to go from each number or it not going to work. that way i gave it 3 stars. after that it a great card.

4-0 out of 5 stars excellent!but, no screen.
this card is the probably the best thing i have done to my dreamcast (so far anyway)no more "what should i keep thats important on my card"i used to use a 200 block card so you could probably see the probloms i had: not enough memory! i definetly recomend this one for sure.but the only problom is that there is no screen!!!bummer!on some games like Sonic Adventure 2 you can play mini games on the card. with the 800 block, you can't. another problom is that you cant transfer a file on one page to a different page! but you'll still live!! now you can save ALL! your files on ALL! your games!!!

GET THIS CARD!but remember, no screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Memory Card
This Memory unit is one the best I have ever had. It has 4x as much memory as the basic unit and you can select icons for each thing you save.

1-0 out of 5 stars Think twice... you won't regret it.
This card is not worth the money. It has never worked correctly for me, and it has only functioned at best as a 200 block card. My father and I opened it up to try to see what was wrong with it and my father said it was one of the worst soldering jobs he'd ever seen. Your money is better spent buying an official Sega 4x memory card. Those actually work. Even the InterAct Nexus memory cards, with 1600 blocks of memory (twice as much), work! If you don't want an official first-party product, at least buy the Nexus card and get more bang for your buck (at the same price I might add).

4-0 out of 5 stars It Stinks!
This controller is big, bulky, and heavy. I always try to avoid using it. If you want a good controller then stick with the basic controller! Although, it is durable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This controller is very comfortable and very durable. I have been using it for well over a year on many types of games. I have even dropped it a few times. I have big hands and play lots of games where one or two buttons, or the analog stick are constantly being held. Never a problem. My favorite controller.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great design, fragile triggers
I've had two of these Mad Catz controllers - they intially seem superior to the standard dreamcast controller, because they are ergonomically better designed.Unfortunately, the trigger design is poor, and both units have broken right triggers - probably from giving little extra oomph on the gas during driving games.I wish that it wasn't true, because otherwise it is the most comfortable controller available.

1-0 out of 5 stars OK
This con troller is designed fairly well and fits in your hand very well. If your thinking about getting one of those controllers with six buttons instead of four, don't. It is a waste there will never be a game that requires six so don't bother. this controller is probably the right one for you. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This is the ultimate organizer
I think this is one of the greastest things to come up with not only does it hold all of your psx2 stuff if you are a messy person and lose things this is the ultimate thing for you. When you use this nothing will get accidently stepped on or chewed on by an animal so i definitley reccomend you go get this.

3-0 out of 5 stars (Yes)for Dreamcast, N-64 & PS1 (No)Playstation 2
1. I'm disappointed because this "video game station" is listed in the PS2 accessories, and that's what I ordered it for... but, because the PS2 it's a tray load system ie, slides out horizontally, it doesn't fit (unless all you want to do is store it there, then take it out to play). But is fine for the "top" loading systems.2. The slide out drawer is large enough to hold many game cd's +the controlers. The top compartmnet will hold a controler too. Also within the top compartment is place to put memory cards with a snapping lid (it was designed for the cords, but this is a better use so their all together and won't get lost).

2-0 out of 5 stars It's great for any video games system except PS2.
I have this video game station and it was great for my playstation console and nintendo 64 but if you got a Playstation 2 and you are planning to get this you should not because the PS2 won't fit in it at all!

5-0 out of 5 stars denise a mohter of 2
Before we purchased this, everything was all over the place. Now that we have the Game Station, my children put everything back where it belongs. Not always back the way I had it, but at least now it ends up in the box and out of view.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good But......
This station is ok, but for the cost of it you probly could go to the local Lumber Store and slap a cupple pieces of plywood togeather and have the same thing for cheaper.

I bought this and it is worth it but not the cost. ... Read more
