5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet!!!
If you can get it for less than 15 bucks....NAB it!!

This game will give you HOURS of fun and it's a great replay game.

Good for all ages too!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars The Crazy Floigan Brothers
Floigan Bros. is a pretty cool game for Dreamcast, but it was very very short. It can be beaten in a day or less. There's alot of camera problems too. It's still a good game though. The voice overs are great, and the characters are funny. The game will remind you of an old Saturday morning cartoon. It's a good game to play when you bored or just wanna have fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars ***A great game that will catch your attention***
This game is great.
I bought it for my three year old son and he loved it.
The graphics are excellent.
It's like playing a cartoon or the Sundays funnies.
It even got me hooked. You can't help but fall in love with the two main charcters, Hoigle and Moigle.
The game has 13 junkyard areas and dozens of minigames. The game also teaches team work so if your looking for a family game you found it in Flogian Brothers.

1-0 out of 5 stars It just *is*
The long and short of it all: At [the price] it's a steal. That is, they're stealing from you. Don't buy it yet.
Floigan Bros. was announced way back in the day - one of the original announced titles for the DC. It's been in development hell for *years*, and it suffers from a few serious gameplay issues, but more damningly, a complete lack of focus.

The game plot itself is relatively simple. You play as Hoigle Floigan, and your dopey brother Moigle tags along. Moigle is amusing in a very mentally-retarded or idiot-savant kind of way, if you find that sort of thing funny. If you don't, it's probably borderline offensive. Moigle's stupid, Hoigle's too short and weak to be useful.

Moigle needs seven parts to create his little seekrit project, and to get them, he's going to need Hoigle's help. The Brothers own a junkyard, and to screw things up even further, there's an evil guy who wants control of the junkyard, so he throws his cat henchmen down from his blimp to take over. There's no visible motivation for *why* this Baron Malodorous fellow wants the junkyard, he just does. Why are his minions cats? They just are.

"It just *is*," might as well be a slogan for this game. Things are arbitrary in a way that's really... bizarre. First of all, you'd think, when you're first shown the seven parts that you need (things like a chimney stack, an engine, a fan, etc.) that these are common things to find in a junkyard. So context-relevant puzzles would seem to make sense. No such luck. You find a fan by blowing up a cat, and you find the chimney stack by having a huge plant barf it up for you. Completely incoherent, illogical solutions to puzzles do not a fun game make. Why is the chimney stack there? It just *is*.

The whole game so far is like this. The design of the gameplay is simply no fun, the AI for the characters is entertaining for about five minutes, the voice samples get old quick, and the game itself, while pretty, is like talking to the Mona Lisa. It may look good, but it's not saying much.

For $5, I'd say "pick it up." If you're a completist, you'll have to have it. If you're curious about what they've done with it, it might be worth the [current price] to sate your curiosity. But I was *really* curious, and I feel pretty ripped off.

People were harshing on EGM for giving this game low, low, low scores, but in all honesty, I find a 1.5/10 almost entirely justified. How this scored 8.5 on IGN is totally beyond me, and even after reading their review, it seems difficult to tell what about the game it was that the reviewer even liked.

4-0 out of 5 stars Short, but fun, and a funny game too!
The Floigan Brothers is a game that you can't take too seriously or you're just not going to enjoy it.It's hardly anything more than an interactive cartoon and taken that way, it certainly worked for me.The story is mostly ludicrous, the game play is short, and the area of play is small, but still, I enjoyed this game.

In the game, you control Hoigle, who must help his brother Moigle gather the seven parts he needs to complete a secret device he is building in the garage.During the game, you must have Moigle help you access areas that are inaccessible by doing different things, including making him happy, angry, sad, and by playing games with him.

The games you play with Moigle get somewhat repetitive after a while and can slow the game play down.I recommend teaching him to play catch as soon as possible since it's one of the quicker games and pays one of the most amount of points, which Hoigle needs to accumulate to teach Moigle different things. The different games you play with Moigle are High Five, Tag, Hide And Seek, Catch, and the Running Game. The Running Game you can't learn until late in the game and I've never been able to beat Moigle at it, although there must be a way to do so.I guess I just can't figure it out.

As you interact with different things in the junkyard, you'll be able to teach Moigle more skills, although there is one thing I haven't been able to teach him. That's what keeps drawing me back into the game, trying to accomplish the tasks that I haven't been able to solve yet, although I've already beaten the game.Try it for yourself, if you like cartoons, I think you'll like this too.Just don't pay too much for this game, its replay value is fairly low and it shouldn't take much more than six hours or so to beat it.Still though, you should enjoy those six hours. ... Editorial Review

By marrying arcade controls with real cars, upgradeable car systems, and multiple play modes,Test Drive 6 attempts to be the driving game for everyone. The result is a fragmented, ordinarygame lacking the focus to be suited for a particular type of gaming audience.

The game purports to offer the thrill of driving a selection of testosterone-charged real cars in some of theworld's most scenic locations. But instead of hitting top speed on the open road or doing doughnuts on theVatican's lawn, you must race a bunch of veteran professional drivers around a number of preset trackswith hairpin turns. Even that could be fun, but here the tracks are missing the shortcuts and power-ups of anarcade racing game, and the cars are missing the accurate physics and customization of a simulation racinggame. This "neither here nor there" approach applies to all of Test Drive 6, a game that on thesurface is packed with features, most of which, on digging deeper, add nothing to gameplay.

Play modes include single and groups of races where you wager money or your pink slip; cop chases whereyou try to pull over speeding cars; and two-player mode. The economic system by which players purchaseand upgrade cars seems out of place, and the game's graphics are merely passable. --Jeff Young

Pros:

  • Great soundtrack, including the entire video for Fear Factory's remake of Gary Numan's "Cars"
  • Nice collection of new and classic hot rods
Cons:
  • Too shallow for a racing simulation, too difficult to be an arcade game
  • Poor handling cars and poorly designed tracks

3-0 out of 5 stars Barely Fine and ok!
The traffic is a pain because most of the time the normal cars swerve into you and you loose your huge lead. This game has stuff like poor turning and traction espesialy Saleens, vipers, and toyota gt1s.The only tourament I can win is class1 tour 1 because the other tours are way to hard. Your very lucky if you win the first race in class1.There are even cars that only have a top speed of 130 with bad turning and very poor acelaration and average traction, then you look back going 152 mph and then woosh they speed right past you making your car go spinning out of control.Thats messed up because your going 152 and he's only going 130 right!?This game is barely OK. I recommend SegaSports 2k,2k1,2k2,and2k3!

5-0 out of 5 stars Test Drive Rocks
The first time i played this game i was convinced this is the best car game i played(to that date). The soundtracks is totally awesome and the cop chases and normal races is totally wicked

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a Sim/Not Arcade
The editorial review is right on.This is too hard for the Arcade Race fans (say people who like Daytona USA) and too inaccurate for Sim Race fans (Gran Turismo fans).

Consequently, you get a game not likely to make anyone happy.Doesn't take advantage of the Dreamcast capabilities very well.Looks like a PS1 game.

Pass on this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS GAME ...
I dont know why some people are writing bad reviews on this game. But let me tell you something this game does have better graphics on Dreamcast then Playstation. The sound is the best, the cars look very realistic, the tracks are easy to race on, and you can almost drive the casrs like real ones. And it is a good buy right now its only 19.99+tax.

5-0 out of 5 stars Test Drive 6 is a Must Have!
Test Drive 6 is one of the better gmaes on the Dreamcast console. There are a wide selection of new and old sports cars and the tracks you race them on a splendid. the graphics in this game is another reason why this game is a must have. There are beautifu landscapes and all the obstacles in the oad cannot be run through like in other racing games. For example if you hit a stop light pole, you go from 120 mphs to 5 mphs. The gameplay is also a turn-on. In the race menu, you can choose from a single race, tournement race, a cop chase (where you are the cop and you try to arrest other racers), and challenges (where you earn money).

The only minor flaw in this game is the traffic. Sometimes when you a racing on the street, the traffic can be excessive and cause you to crash. Sometimes the traffic even swerves to hit you, causing you to crash or slow down a lot.

Even though the traffic is a pain, this game is excellent and is a definate must have! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars 8-Bit NES Games were better than this
I'm a long time gamer and I know my video games.Gigawing *appeared* to be a great 2D vertical old-school shooter for the DC and I was extremely pleased to see such games still being released on today's newer consoles. However, after paying the money and popping this into my DC, I began to play and within 20 minutes (I'm not joking here), the game was OVER!On my first try, I managed to beat the game's 5 stages.

Of course, being a DC game, I figured I had the game set on an easy difficulty level that only allowed access to several stages, but I read the manual and to my disbelief, that was the game in all of it's 5 stage glory!NOthing else here to extend the life of the game (save for some stupid boring cards you can earn showing various art from the game), Capcom just took the easy route and did a direct arcade port with few enhancments or additional levels. Two player mode makes the game even easier and shorter.

Why did Capcom allow this game to come out for the DC?I have no idea...arcade purists will enjoy the short, but extrememly bullet-ridden game (the game is virtually blanketed by enemy bullets at times...a testament to the fact that is was an arcade-only game where constant continues are necessary to bring profit to the arcade owner), but I've played BETTER and LONGER shooters on every system dating back to the Atari 2600!5 stages just doesn't cut it and Capcom should have added to it!

The few good points are: the game is 100% accurate to the arcade, the graphics are garish but good in a retro-arcadey kind of way, there's virtually no slowdown even during the heaviest bullet storms, and it's a good game for people who don't have a lot of time for gaming.

That said, you'd be best served by getting Mars Matrix, another bullet-heavy short arcade-ported shooter, but one that has been somewhat expanded with various DC modes and a cool shop option where you get to buy upgrades and such to extend the life of the game.Gigawing is simply not worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST DREAMCAST GAME EVER!
THIS GAME IS THE BEST. IT HAS EXCELENT GRAPHICS AND THE CONTROLLES ARE SIMPLE.ALSO IF YOU LIKE FLIGHT SIMULATERS IT IS GREAT. YOU CAN HAVE UP TO 4 PLAYERS. THE ONE DOWNSIDE IS IT IS VERY SHORT.IT TOOK ME 1/2 AN HOUR TO BEAT IT MY FIRST TIME PLAYING. ALL-IN-ALL IT IS A GREAT GAME!

3-0 out of 5 stars "Twitch" gamers beware...this is a mere button-masher
Giga Wing is a vertically-scrolling shooter that casts off the strategic elements that fans of the genre often look for in favor of exaggerating the action to preposterous levels.Enemies don't just hound you persistently and shoot at you in big bursts...they totally blanket the screen with fire that simply cannot be avoided with slick maneuvering and well-placed shots.Hence the "reflect force" ... a tool that creates a force field around your aircraft to repel the countless projectiles back at your foes and produce oodles of items to snatch. You can also wipe the screen clean with smart bombs, which produce similar results.

There are several different planes to choose from, each with different standard weapons which can be upgraded via appropriate power-ups, but not a great deal of variety is added to the game because of this, because fighting your way to the end is really just a matter of using your reflect force at every opportunity and dropping bombs whenever the screen gets cluttered (which is just about all the time). You're given unlimited continues and when you use one you pick up at the exact same point you left off, so there's not much incentive to be careful where you fly or to deploy your bombs conservatively.Pretty much anyone can pick up this game and beat it on their first attempt with the proper amount of patience.Continuing will reset your score (which can be up to 16 digits) but most people won't want to put themselves through the frustration of finding the one square inch on the entire TV screen where it's safe to be when the enemies are bombarding you with gunfire from about a thousand different directions at once.

In light of this criticism, my three-star rating may seem too high.Well, in spite of the simplistic gameplay and unremarkable graphics and sounds (not to mention the feeble Japanese-to-English translation), Giga Wing is sort of fun, at least for a while. It's mercifully short, and if you're not expecting a masterpiece of old-school 2-D shooting bliss, you may find some merit in it.Casual shooter fans are advised to pass it by;die-hards may want to break it out every once in a while, but chances are it won't hold too glorious a spot in their libraries.

5-0 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet
Having first been a fan of the game from the arcade, I was elated when I found out that Capcom made a version of it for the Dreamcast. When I first bought it I immediately noticed that the graphics were not as sharp as the arcades, but that thought quickly left my mind as I began to play the game. All of a sudden I found myself emerged in a realm of gaming that I had not been in for quite some time. If you are a fan of shooters, then I highly recommend picking this title up. The only drawback to this game is that it is relatively short, but with three characters and hidden ships to find, the replay value makes up for that small inconvenience. A short, but sweet game indeed.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not what one would expect from Capcom
Searching for a great traditional 2 player shooting game for Dreamcast? Sorry, but you will have to keep on searching.Giga Wing is just not up to the standard of quality I've come to expect from Capcom. It's too short, ridiculously unfair in the later levels, and the graphics leave something to be desired.Casual gamers may see my complaints as trivial, but I think most hardcore gamers that have experienced the old greats like 1943 and Raiden 1-2 will agree with me.My advice...stay away from Giga Wing, and get Raiden Project or G. Darius for Playstation instead. ... Read more

Editorial Review

TrickStyle is one of the most stylishly pleasing games. And theDreamcast version really pumps out the pixels with fluid animation that effortlesslyfollows the hoverboard riders along the tracks. One of the game's designers recentlyexplained that the concept behind the game was for riders to find the path of leastresistance, taking one graceful path down the track like "a drop of mercury." Greatconcept. But this drop met many a brick wall on its way to uncertain victory. The tracksin TrickStyle are not player-friendly, and neither are the computer-controlledopponents that act more like flawless robots than flesh-and-blood competitors.

Still, this game looks so darn cool, you can't resist playing it. The requisite tricks fromsnowboarding games are here, but this time they actually add important power-ups toyour repertoire, favoring function over, dare we say, style. To save yourself thefrustration of trying to consistently win races, you should enjoy this game by watchingthe screen while other more nimble or less leisure-time-deficient friends play. --JeffYoung

Pros:

  • Jaw-dropping graphics and animation
  • Functional board tricks
  • Contemporary styling
Cons:
  • Difficult racetracks
  • Unrealistically skilled computer opponents
  • Need to place first in order to progress

1-0 out of 5 stars Futuristic Racing it is, Fun its not!
A title such as Trickstyle has great potential but suffers for designers with little vision! When playiing this game you WILL get the feeling that it needs more. You will go away feeling short changed. The graphics are cool but the control is not. this game is basically flat with little replay value, the tracks are TOO SHORT and there is no real element in the game that makes it a worthy purchase.

PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Secret Codes makes it easier
A few people don't like the game because its difficult to beat. But if you go to any of the popular game websites, you can get free codes which alow you to win ever race, select every hover board, and every stage.

The graphics are great and you get to do a lot of outrageous moves.

4-0 out of 5 stars I would love to see a sequel!
This is still one of my fave DC racing games. There's a futuristic design style that... isn't poorly created, like most games, this is very cool, it feels like a future world. Also, as you're riding, when you fall from a high height or low height, this gives a sense of reality, like you are actually living the opening scene from the original 'Rollerball' film or a hoverboard version of 'Bullit's car chase. I hated having to do Tricks, so maybe a sequel could change the name to "____Style". Thankfully, I didn't have to do tricks much at all. There aren't too many tracks, some feel the same, but they all have worthwhile, unique elements. Racing against a friend may not be easy, as they should learn the course beforehand. I didn't feel the computer was cheating me out of a win I deserved, I feel this game has a fairly normal difficulty level -- it suited me right. I wished I could play tracks as difficult as the last one! Online play for a sequel would be great, can you imagine going against a capable human player on Japan #5 or so? During it I felt as though I was actually playing this game, instead of just driving past scenery with other character models. There are some dodgy control issues, but how should a hoverboard control? The control has equally beneficial abilities too. I enjoyed the Challenges a fair amount too, the VMU game is to be ignored... I disliked the obnoxious characters, and didn't find them 'cool', they are one-note stereotypes and pretty much just dress in a GAP/popstar/jock/foreign-superman way, I wanted to see futuristic punk clothes or something! You may not like this game, but I love it. The music could be better, but it could be worse too, it does what it needs to do, it can be somewhat ambient in it's own techno way, it could've been as unique as the game itself. I wish I could save cheat options like no time limit. This would be an ideal Xbox racer, but it's gorgeous on DC. At least rent to see if it's for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trickstyle
Trickstyle is an awesome 3-d game for tony hawk pro skateboarder game lovers. its like the same thing, but you are on hover boards. lots of characters to chooese from.

5-0 out of 5 stars a masterpiece of the track!!!!!
This was the first game I had and the most played one Iv'e got I love it it has everything graphics, play ability and good music. its gaming bliss. for racers and non racers alike fans of wipeout for the playstation and games like tony hawks 2 will love it one word to describe it is BRILLIANT!!!!!!! ...
