5-0 out of 5 stars Tetris...What makes it so addictive?
I found "TETRIS" in the middle of nowhere and found it a brilliant addition to my very primative collection of games (i live for the old stuff). It is easy to catch onto the simple rules and very addictive. You can never WIN, but beating your own personal best is really good when it happens. I think that is also educational for that buff they call spacial awareness.

However, I would not buy it unless you can get a good price for it. You can get HandHeld games with original And Variations of the origianl "TETRIS".

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tetris Game!
I have both this game AND Tetris Worlds for Game Boy Advance, And I love them both as much as the other. Tetris worlds my not have a Battery Back-up, but it more than makes up for that with the extremely fun game variations and the classic tetris Music.
Tetris DX DOES Have a battery, but it's just basic tetris. I'm able to score at least 400,000 points regularly, so every time I top out I have to put up with that annoying rocket launch sequence, wheras with Tetris Worlds, when you top out, you can start the next game right away without having to put up with annoying rocket sequences. the bottom line: went I want to play Classic Tetris, I play Tetris DX. when I want Enhanced graphics and effects and Nostalgic Music, I play Tetris Worlds

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Tetris Dx
Tetris DX is a very fun game! You will be addicted to it in no time! There are many different things you can do to change the game settings. For example, you can change the music. You can also change the level you are on yourself, although I wouldn't recommend doing it until after you have become a very good player. There also many game modes you can play in, like 40 Lines, on which you have to get 40 lines without your blocks hitting the top, Marathon, on which you just keep going and going and going until your blocks hit the top, or Ultra, where you see how good you can do, except you only have 3 minutes to do so. The computer also keeps track of your best records and displays them when you are choosing your level. Tetris DX is an absolutely terrific game! I would recommend it to anybody! You'll have a lot of fun playing it. Thank you for reading my review. I hope it helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars a cut above the previous version
This is the only game I play on my GBC, which I've had for just over two years now.The two modes I stick to are Ultra and Marathon.I mostly play Ultra because the rocket ship animation that comes up after you lose when playing Marathon can get annoying after a while.

The previous version only allowed you to move one space laterally for every space the piece dropped.Very tough. In my opinion, the nicest change in this version of the game is the ease you can slid blocks laterally. The one for one idea is gone. Here in DX, I've gotten to level 30 with regularity, whereas before in previous versions, I was lucky to get past level 20.

I'd recommend this game on that change alone. The fact you can keep records for yourself is just a plus.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great game, if you can find it.
Tetris DX is an excellent game, but unfortunately it has become extremely hard to find.

Now that I have a Game Boy Advance, I was happy to find a Tetris game to replace the hard-to-find Tetris DX. If you have a GBA and want a decent Tetris game, check out Tetris Worlds. While it isn't as pure to the form as Tetris DX, it is well worth the price for some Tetris action. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovin it
I love this game. if you ask me its the best game for GBC. i love it

Its sooooooooo awsome!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Son Of Super Mario Bros. 3 And Super Mario Land
WOW, I love this game.It is the best non-colorized portable Mario side-scroller I have ever played. This is one of the best game boy action games out there, along with donkey kong land 1-3, Metroid II, The Kirby games, and others. The rabbit ears kick but and I love the space zone.

Graphics-4/5, almost like black-and-white super mario world.

Play Control-5/5, Extremely Tight, and not too complex.

Game Design-4/5, It would be perfect, but it lacks an ice zone or a desert zone. It's a bit short compared to, oh say, Super Mario World, but it has high replay value.Hidden Levels too!

Satisfaction-6/5 Expert players may beat it in a week or two, but you want to play this forever!!!!!!!!!!

Sound-4/5- The Sound is almost as good as SMB3's, but the music isn't perfect, but for a game boy game, it's fairly solid.

the good- cool enemies, powers, levels. great replay value.

the bad- it's a tad short.

the ugly- The Three Little Pigs and Wario.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than the first one.
Super Mario Land 2 is way better than its first one.In this "retro review" we're going to look at what made this one of the best GB games of its time (but too bad just a year later we'd get "The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening").

The graphics were a major step above the first one and were actually stunning visuals for the GB. They look ALMOST like a snazzy early SNES game.

Gameplay actually very closely resembles Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. You've got your power ups that unlike the first Super Mario Land can actually TELL you grabbed them. The Flower Power up and the Bunny Ears (only seen in this one) are nice. The Bunny Ears is like the leaf in SMB3. Except that Mario can't fly but they allow him to glide down to safety.

The music is great for its time and even now it isn't bad. It's been about 11 years since its release and the tunes still play out in my head at times.

The Map is used in this one as well.Except you can't go and challenge old bosses which kind of stinks.

The story follows that Mario has lost his castle to Wario (no saving Princess Daisy in this one) and he can only get back into his castel using the six golden coins so he must set out to find them in one of the six different "Zones."What's nice about this is that you aren't forced to take the zones in any specific order at all! What's not to like about that. However, if you get a game over you have to find all six coins again.

For those whinning about no saving on Super Mario Land you can finally stop your bitchin' because this game incorporates an auto-save feature. It works well but there are moments where the game will erase the data on its own.

Overall this is still a worthwhile game even so many years later.Grab this game if you can and see what happens!

4-0 out of 5 stars It's 2003 and this game still kicks...
A fine sequel to "Super Mario Land," this game, upon its release, boasted incredible graphics and superior sound.Even today, this game is terrific. The controls are innovative and fun, and there's one entire level in homage to the Balloon Trip mode of the old game "Balloon Fight."And let's not forget that this game introduced Nintendo's latest villain-franchise, Wario. The replay value is incredible, and the graphics look great colorized.I still play this game, and even my boyfriend borrowed it for a while for his SP.Again, this game isn't quite Metroid II or Link's Awakening, but it's right on up there.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best gameboy game

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring!
Paperboy is an extremely boring game.Nothing happens, there are only three levels and I would only buy this for 8 years or under kids. This is a good first time game for little kids.If you're a "hardcore" gamer this is NOT for you.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dullsville!
This is a game that is boring for a hardcore gamer. If you buy it buy it for small kids.

3-0 out of 5 stars An alternative to the normal blood and gores game.........
I would give this game a 3.First of all, it gets a little boring because it's repetative and all you really do is deliever papers to the customer. But I really liked this game because it is like the original Paperboy.Italso isn't bloody and gorey like many of the new video games. I wouldrecommed this game to people who have played Paperboy before becasue theyknow what to expect and won't be disapointed when it's not fast paced andaction filled.Paperboy is not for anyone under 8 because it might be alittle to hard and take to much concentration. They also might find itboring. So if you like the original Paperboy, this is the game for you!

1-0 out of 5 stars booooo!
wow this has got to be the worst game i have ever played. I mean really who wants to go around and deliver papers for a video game when they could be on quests to save the world. instead of quests to get a good tip.

1-0 out of 5 stars This game stinks
My parents got me this game as a birthday presant. I liked it for about 30 minutes but then it got boring. The game is basically the same thing repeated over and over again. It was not worth the money.I don't like this game very much because it is too boring. I don't recommend this game. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Before the Game Boy Color, one-player hands of Uno were pretty rare. Thanks to this game, however, a quorum is no longer needed. Just like the popular color- and number-matching card game, players must whittle their sets of cards down to that trim number, one, and even lose that if they're to win. This version of the game also brings colorful animation, sound, and a new variant--Challenge Uno--to the game. You don't have to play alone, though--you can connect to a friend's copy of the game through the separately sold Game Link cable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't sleep at night without it!!!
I love this game and the cards don't get lost.I play everynight before bed and take it on business trips with me.I get really sleepy watching the cards move and find it relaxing.More so than a meditation tape.Easy for my children to play.

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS GAME
I bought mine used from "hope9wizard".I received my game under a weeks time. thankyou hope... for speedy response time - folks go ahead ahead buy any games from them. Now the game is real cool it has several variations on playing the original Uno. I love it. two thumbs up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic game you can play by yourself...
It took me a while to find this game and I must say that it was well worth the search! The game is played the same way as the classic card game except that you can play alone. It is so addictive, I found myself playing an hour at a time and GBC Uno would make an ideal travel game.

There is an option to play regular Uno or Challenge Uno, which plays like regular Uno but is scored differently. There are 3 additional decks to choose from. Be forwarned though that it can be a bit hard for some to read the numbers on the cards with the other decks. You can choose 2-4 players, difficulty level, speed that the cards are played and score total, which can be set from 100-2000 points. There is also an option to turn off both the music and the effects which are cute but can be a bit long. If you want to keep the flow of the game smooth running I suggest turning off the effects.

Overall this is an exciting and fun, addictive game that will keep you occupied, probably more than you like, and the best part of it all is that you can play by yourself! Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game! Our kids love this card game!
Our kids love this card game & knew that the gameboy game would be a hit...I was right! They now can play together on the gameboy or alone against the gameboy it's self.I found myself playing it for 30 minutes!! There are fun themes from Groovy to Western. If you have Uno fans with a Gameboy this is the game for them!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game for the Price

5-0 out of 5 stars Bust-A-Move Rocks
This is a awsome game. Like no other. All the bust a moves are great. I'm always playing them. Just to let parents know, this game keeps kids busy for hours. Well, any way this is my all time favorite GameBoy game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bubble Blast
Bust-A-Move is the best game for your Game Boy. YOu need to play in the light or you can't see the different colored bubbles. You can play against your friend(s) or the computer. You can get secret players after you win a certain amount of wins in a row.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's More Addictive than Tetris
This game is a great buy! If you are a bust a move fan, you will love this and thank me for recommending it to you. There are four different ways you can play - you can play a puzzle game, against the computer, against a friend with GameBoy link, and you can take the bust a move challenge. The best part is, all of these variations are a blast to play. It's very addictive and never gets boring. The only complaint I have is that if you do not have a worm light, it can be difficult to distinguish the different colors of the bubbles, but after playing a couple of rounds you get used to it.I have taught many people how to play bust a move and every single person became an addict like me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bust a Move 4
I am still not sure what I think about bust a move in general, but my mom loves it.She claims this version is not as good as the super nintendo original, but it still has her hooked to my game boy (which is better thanbeing hooked to the TV all the time.) 4-0 out of 5 stars WAY better than the original
Donkey Kong is the game that introduced Mario to the world. It's no wonder the game has gone on to become a cult classic. However, no one can deny that the original game, while very fun, was also on the short side. Nintendo took this into consideration when they decided to remake the original game for the Game Boy. Read on for my review of Donkey Kong '94.

PROS:
-THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL GAME IS HERE. All four of the stages that made up the original arcade Donkey Kong (including the level missing from the original NES release of the game) are here.
-YOU CAN SAVE YOUR GAME. Being able to save your game makes this one of the best "travel" games out there.
-MUCH LONGER AND MORE APPEALING THAN THE ORIGINAL. After the original game ends, a whole new game begins! You will progress through roughly a hundred puzzle-action stages, battling against Donkey Kong every fourth stage. This game has never been better.

CONS:
-CONTROL IS AWKWARD AT FIRST. Nintendo modeled the controls for this game after the classic Donkey Kong arcade game, not the Super Mario Bros. series, so modern-day Mario fans are going to have to make some serious adjustments.
-UNEVEN MIX OF DIFFICULTY. Some stages have no puzzle at all, just get in, get the key, get out. However, some stages have mind-boggling puzzles that are going to make you want to tear your hair out. The easy and hard stages are unevenly mixed. Having the game get progressingly more difficult would have made for a more satisfying game experience.

OVERALL:
Overall this is an excellent game, even if it has become a little dated. If you own any variation of the Game Boy, purchasing this game from your local used video games dealer would be a smart move.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Start for a future kick ass gamer
6 years ago...
I bought a Game Boy Pocket and bought my first game of all time, Donkey Kong.
6 years later...
I'm become kick ass great gamer and I find Donkey Kong while looking for Zelda Four Swords and I still have fun playing it. The classic first four levels, the puzzling quest for keys, and the final battle at the top of Kong Tower (or whatever the hell they call that tower). Anyway, buy if you want to it. It's a good game.

Editorial Review

Asteroids, like other classic games from the originalvideo arcade era, is still fondly remembered by retro gamers--and forgood reason. This game reminds many gamers of an age when gameplay wasmore important than graphics.

The first few levels play just like the original Asteroidsgame. Your ship starts in the middle of the screen, spins, and blastsasteroids. You can thrust about and pick up some nifty power-ups, butthe game doesn't really heat up until later stages. For example, thesecond stage introduces dangerous black holes that you must avoid.Strangely enough, the final levels play somewhat like another classicgame, Missile Command.

There are lots of hidden goodies in this game, from new ships to anembedded version of the original wire-frame Asteroids.Fortunately, this version offers more than a simple facelift to theaging arcade game. Asteroidsis simple enough to pick up andplay for a few minutes, yet addictive enough to keep you occupied forhours. Retro arcade fans should put this one on their shortlist.--T. Byrl Baker

4-0 out of 5 stars It's really cool.
I bought this game and love it I have played it thriugh entirely at least like 10 times. You have 3 ships all have special powers (i suggest the 3rd one it's my favorite) and you can earn a forth one. Once you beat all of the missions you get the original asteroids and a new ship. I highly recommend this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kool game
This is a really good game. You have 3 ships to choose from, each with their own special things that they can do. The only thing that I think is bad is that the last zone is way too easy, and the fact that when you play in expert you don't get any special weapons. But the graphics are great and the whole storyline and gameplay is really cool. This is a great game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Asteroids Strikes Back
This is a new cartridge for an old game. This means if you don't like original Asteroids, you'll not like this one too. But if you've fighted in a wireframe universe for years you cannot miss this one. Many new hazardsand enemies will cross your way, ready to be blasted out! There are fivespace systems to fight in, three ships (four, if you're good enough to winthe last one) each with its special defense, the original game hidden (notvery well) somewhere and passwords to keep progress made. So what you'rewaiting for?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
A pretty good reproduction of the old Asteroids. The graphics are colorful although a bit dark so you'll need good light. You can see everything well, but the game has the ship & asteroids on a blackbackground (most other games have a light background). The action gradualybuilds until you are dodging and shooting for your life...then some newthing shows up and kills you.Good to keep in the bag for layovers at theairport. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I play this game all the time
graphics are o.k. but the gameplay is awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good delivery for the Game Boy
"Paperboy" was one of the first games that I had for the Game Boy and even after all these years, it's still a lot of fun to play.Your objective is to deliver a newspaper to all the subscribers. If you successfully deliver a newspaper to all your subscribers without missing any, you will get a new subscriber. The game is divided up by all the days of the week. For example, once you get past Monday's level, you'll go on to Tuesday.During each day, you have to throw a newspaper either inside your subsciber's mailbox or on their front doorstep. But it's not as easy as it sounds.

Along the way, you will encounter many obstacles such as a dog that will chase you down, cars, tornadoes, remote-control cars, and many other enemies that will do anything they can to knock you off your bike. However, you do have a defensive move that can protect you against a few of your enemies, and that is to hit them with a newspaper in order to stun them for awhile. Also, while you're trying to get the day's paperwork done, you can rack in some extra points by throwing newspapers at certain items such as your non-subscribers' windows, garbage cans, and trees.Just make sure you don't run out of newspapers. If you do good enough during the level and pass it, you will have the chance to go through a fun bonus level where you hit targets and have to maneuver your bike over ramps and past moving walls.

For the Game Boy, "Paperboy" has good graphics, satisfying sound and music, and easy-to-learn controls.

If you have a regular Game Boy, I definitely recommend getting "Paperboy" for it, it's one of the funnest games you could get and it never gets old.

2-0 out of 5 stars Loses its flavor fast
Paperboy has the same original outlook as the original game, but it grows old quickly, and has very little variation.

4-0 out of 5 stars paperboy delivers a good game
Paperboy for the Game Boy is the only Paperboy game I've ever played and it's a fun game. You try to deliver newspapers to all your customers and you can do it by either throwing them on their front doorstep or in theirmailbox, while you get points for busting the windows out of yournon-subscribers' houses. You can also get points by hitting otherobstacles such as targets, trash cans, etc.Everytime you deliver anewspaper to all of your customers without missing any in a level, you geta new subscriber. At the end of every level, there's a bonus stage whichcan be fun, then you go to the next day. However, it's not as easy as itmight sound. There are a lot of obstacles such as tornadoes, dogs, andcars to avoid on your way.

I'd recommend getting this game if you likethe Paperboy games or if you like non-stop action games. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Well, the PC version is good!
I was really excited when I heard MPA was bing released for gameboy!I love the PC version - it's the only Pinball sim I play now days. The Gameboy version... well, seems like an unfinished product. The only table worth playing is Spirit of '76... which is a saving grace since it just so happens to be my favorite table on the PC version.I no longer play the gameboy version of MPA... just sits in it's box until I decide to get rid of it.I'll stick to Kirby's Pinball or Pokemon Pinball.

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than no pinball at all
Of the several tables included on this cart., only 2 are worth playing: Spirit of 76 and Haunted House. The others are more like pachinko games than modern pinball and aren't worth the effort.

Whether you love them or hate them, the Olsen twins remain popular despite the conclusion oftheir long-running TV comedy Full House. The twins leap from the small screen to the evensmaller-sized Game Boy Color system in this mystery arcade game. As teenage detectives, the determinedduo aim to "solve any crime before dinner time"--but they won't get very far without your help.

While this reviewer was initially a bit skeptical about the quality of the game (which seems to have beencreated solely to cash in on the popularity of the twosome), it is, in fact, surprisingly good. Gamers mustwander through multiple arcade levels in an attempt to solve each of five separate mysteries. In order towin each level, you'll have to use your wits to open locked cages and doors containing vital clues.Mary-Kate, Ashley, and the crime-biting dog Clue must cooperate with each other to complete each level. For example, each character has a special skill that is best suited for solving a specific arcade challenge. Inmany cases, you'll need to figure out which combination of special character moves to use in order to finda new clue.

The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley is strangely addictive and unexpectedly fun. Fans ofthe Olsen twins will want to pick this up, while nonfans may want to sneak a peek when no one else islooking. --Brett Atwood

Pros:

  • Addictive arcade gameplay
  • Appeals to fans of Olsen twins
Cons:
  • "Girl" theme may embarrass guy gamers

3-0 out of 5 stars The Mystery Game
The game is as discribed, but the screen is a little dark and you can barely make out what they say when they talk, I think if someone isn't site impared with a little practice this game could give hours of fun.

2-0 out of 5 stars Alright for younger girls
I bought this for my daughter, 10 at the time, and she enjoyed it somewhat. Though it did not hold her attention long. She said it was fun,but she became bored with it after about 2 months. It has since passed on to my 8 year old niece. Who pretty much gave it the same review.

3-0 out of 5 stars I guess it's ok- but not my 1st choice
Well, i guess I would say this game is pretty challenging but it's also sort of boring. The characters don't look like the olsen twins too much and the levels are sort of boring looking and are not colorful at all. If you aren't expecting very much, you will be happy when you play this game but it's not even close to how great the crash bandicoot and spyro games are for the game boy advance console.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!!!!!
I got this game 2 years ago and I still like to play it.But not as much as I used to. I love the MKA games they are so good. The only problem is when MKA talk it sounds awful but I don't care b-c the game is awesome. At first it was a little hard for me b-c it was my first gbc game and I was only 10 years old.I like how Ahley,M-K,and Clue have their own abilities. Ashley's are she can throw clue and flick switches. Mary-Kate's are she can jump high and can be bounsed on to boost others up. Clue's are canswim, can be stood onto boost others up, can be ridden, and can be thrown (by Ashley). You got to have this game even if you aren't a MKA fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hours of fun!
My daughter of 8 loves this game. She refuses to put it down. The gameplay is intuitively obvious. She was enjoying the game rightout of the package without wasting a lot of time figuring out commands. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Lizzy the monster lizard, Ralph the overgrown wolf, and George the giant gorilla are still readyto rampage, but it's up to a whole new strain of mutants to rescue them in Midway's Rampage 2:Universal Tour for the Game Boy Color. (Note: This game is playable only on Game Boy Color, notGame Boy.)

The object is still to destroy as many of Earth's cities as possible. The new mutants stomping theblock--Curtis the rat, Boris the rhino, and Ruby the lobster--are every bit as hungry as their predecessorsfrom the successful multiplatform Rampage series, and they're just as hacked off. In one-playermode, choose one of the mutants and devour your way through scores of Earth's most famous cities. Or linkup with another Game Boy Color for an excellent two-player cooperative mode.

But beware while you're stomping buildings and cars and munching on the world's populace, becausemilitary forces are out to stop you. For extra points (and fun), smash the tanks, bombers, helicopters, androbots that come after you. The more people you snack on--soldiers and civilians alike--the healthier you'llstay. Mutants have to stick together, so rescue the aforementioned veteran monsters for special bonuses.--Bill Hutchens

Pros:

  • Highly detailed cities
  • Everything is breakable (which is a great stress reliever!)
  • Lots of hidden surprises--be sure to smash and eat as much as possible
Cons:
  • 2-player mode is great, but arcade purists may miss the 3-way fun of the original version

4-0 out of 5 stars It's a great game
It's fun,but if you have it for N64,forget about getting it for game boy. It's great, but the graphics stink.

2-0 out of 5 stars boring
This game has a good backround and idea, but it is exceedingly dull. You go arround jumping on cars and climbing buildings. Big deal. I would almost rather wach golf. If you want to burn money and be bored to death, buy thisgame.

5-0 out of 5 stars Iloved it!
I own this game and I love it! It's full of action.I think it's a great game for anyone of any age.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rampage 2 Is Great
Rampage2: Universal Tour is a great game just like the original. The repetitive goal of destroying buildings doesnt seem to bore the player. I enjoyed it very much and reccommend it to anyone who likes destruction games. It is a lot like Godzilla- you walk through cities and trashbuildings. Very Fun. I give it an A !

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Cool
One of the "most wanted" items on my 10 year old's Christmas list, Rampage is quick and exciting. However, he finished eating all the cities in one day, so this game probably would suit a younger player. ... Read more

Showcasing two arcade classics from the early to mid-1980s, Arcade Hits:Moon Patrol/Spy Hunter is a hit-and-miss package. The hit is Moon Patrol, ahorizontally side-scrolling game where you control a moon rover patrolling sector nine ofLuna City. While fending off wave after wave of alien attacks, you must avoid totalingyour rover on the boulders, craters, and mines that cover the lunar surface. Because thearcade game had basic controls (joystick and two buttons) and rudimentary graphics andsound, it's been faithfully reproduced here. Moon Patrol fans won't bedisappointed. The miss is Spy Hunter, a vertically scrolling game that has you driving a JamesBond-like car on a mission to take down the bad guys using an arsenal of specialweapons. While this adaptation looks and sounds like the original, the controls are tooawkward to make the game worth playing, as the Game Boy just doesn't have enoughbuttons for the job. --Joe Hon

  • Faithful adaptation of Moon Patrol

  • Awkward controls for Spy Hunter

2-0 out of 5 stars Hrm..
Growing up, I played both Moon Patrol and Spy Hunter in the arcades, then on the Atari 2600 console and Atari 800XL computer. The Spy Hunter reminds me of the Atari 800XL version of Spy Hunter, slightly easier than the 'real thing' but still awkward to get your car moving fast enough to be effective, but slow enough to give you time to react to things coming down the road (typical Spy Hunter problem though). For a better Spy Hunter, and a faithful arcade adaptation, go to shockwave.com and play theirs. As far as Moon Patrol, the music is hard to hear, and the UFO's are hard to shoot and and dodge, but it is a faithful arcade adaptation.Unless you REALLY liked these two games in the past (to discover this about yourself, ask yourself "Can I hum the Moon Patrol theme?"), I wouldn't suggest the purchase.I feel I paid $15 too much for this $20 cartridge..

4-0 out of 5 stars Moon Patrol is great, Spy Hunter bites
Moon Patrol is a great, faithful rendition of the original arcade classic.Drive your bouncy moon jalopy along, blasting obstacles and jumping over pits, blowing pesky UFO's out of the sky.

I found that the game is hard to play if there's any glare at all - many of the important features on thescreen are hard to see.The bombs that the UFO's drop on you areespecially hard to see if you're not playing somewhere with good lightingand minimal glare.Another disappointment is that the cartridge doesn'thave a battery, so it won't save high scores or record time.

Spy Hunteris a waste. The controls are very awkward even if you don't use thespecial weapons. When you add in those weapons, trying to pull offsomething like B+left arrow for one thing versus B+up arror for another isjust pointless.

If you fondly remember Moon Patrol and have decentvision, you'll have a great time.If you're hoping for a good version ofSpy Hunter, well, you won't find it here.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Not a good version of Spy Hunter, as the maneuverablility is not good on this platform.Am awaiting a version of Super Spy Hunter somewhere. This is just not fun to play. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars For a very old game, it's great!
This is a great game! Even though the only colors in the game are white, black, yellow and green, it's still a fun & exciting game. I like the music, which is surprisingly good for a game its age. It's a good game for all ages. Buy it!

4-0 out of 5 stars DK Land lll
this is an awesome game. it has fun gameplay, moderate graphics, and excellent music. you can choose to be Dixie kong or Kiddie Kong. each one has advantages. you have to collect DK
coins and Bonus coins. I don't own this game; a friend lent it
to me. Overall, this is a very entertaining game. it is compatible with the Game Boy or Game Boy Color.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Kongs
I think that Donkey Kong Land III Best gameboy game there is. I really enjoyed playing it and I thought the music was catchy. I do'nt think there is anything virtually at all wrong with it. The drawings are good and and every thing is brilliant!

5-0 out of 5 stars No donkey kong or diddy kong?
The donkey kong seris is the best ever but its so hard to find them now.Right now I have game boy the games I love are DC1,2 and 3.I want right review about DC3.In it you get to be Dixie kong or kiddy kong.It is realy fun because there are alot of levels collet DC coins, bear coins (for some secerts at the bear shop) and ballons and alot more stuff! But to get to the lost world you need to collect all of the DC coins to battle King K.Roll!

4-0 out of 5 stars Monkey Madness!
Donkey Kong Land III is agreat game for everything. From long trips to those short waits on the Metro. This is probably the best game in the Donkey Kong Land series for Game Boy and you have the choice of choosing the unusually large Kiddy Kong (a baby) or from my personal favorite character, Dixie Kong. No Donkey Kong? While apperintly he's not in this game. This game has great side-scrolling action and also has some pretty good graphics. With tons of lands with big enough levels, this game will keep you occupied for hours. The enimies in DK3 are pretty much the same as the past DK games, but there are a lot more barrels and options in DK3.The only two things I don't like about DK3 is that the boss in the third land is so darn hard and it took me a long time to beat him.The other thing that I don't like is that the only way to save is if you make it to a little hut with some old guy in it and that could be four levels into a land. While even though the game isn't perfect it's still a great game and is not bad compared to Donkey Kong Country on Super Nintendo. If Action/Adventure is your bag than you've got to buy this game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Gaming Mom from the 80's
This was one of my favorite arcade games when I was in high school.I was shocked to see that after nearly 20 years that it was available for Game Boy.I bought this one for myself, sure that my 10 year old son would not care for it.This is the type of game in which the player clears levels. Each level gets more difficult. There isn't anything complicated about the way this game progresses. In this game the player plays a thief who is trying to pick up what I believe are floppy disks. The setting is a cross-section of a building of many floors with rows of doors on each floor and escalators on either end of each floor. The elevator is in the center of the building.Armed security people can come out of the doors at any time and shoot at the thief, who can then duck or jump over the bullets (and shoot back of course.)The player can also shoot out the lights to temporarily make the room dark to aid in sneaking off to a safer area. One funny way to get rid of the people chasing the player is to make them get squashed underneath the elevator.Once all the disks are picked up, the player advances to the next level, which will contain more security people and eventually dogs. This game is good for people of all ages because the first two or three levels are easy (but still fun), making it good for younger players, while the more advanced levels are very challenging.I was certain my son would not like this game, but he loved it.In fact, it was his favorite game for a while. In no time at all, he could advance to a level past what I could reach.I highly recommend this game for an adult who misses the older arcade games, or for a youth who is tired of the modern-style adventure games. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars frogger rocks
How old are you guys?10?Frogger is a classic - nothing to get excited about graphics wise, etc. but the game itself is just a classic skill game among the ranks of pacman and dig dug.

2-0 out of 5 stars A waste of money
I think that this game is pretty bad! I have played the playstation one version and it is a lot better! That actually has different levels that actually look different a nd are 3-d! This game is horrible! The screen just looks so boring! It's just some cars and stuff that you have to get past! Since all of the levels are basically the same, there is no point in trying to beat the levels because there's nothing different about the next level! The game doesn't even save high scores when you get them! There also isn't any backround music! Don't waste your money on this game! You will be very dissapointed unless you are older and liked the game how it was when you were a kid or something!

3-0 out of 5 stars OK game
This game is fun, but the levels are a lot the same, except they get harder! The object of the game is to get five frogs across a busy highway with fast moving cars, and cross a river filled with snakes, crocodiles, and diving turtles while staying within the time limit. You can also collect extra points as you go. I would recommend this game if you want to play something that doesn't take a lot of strategy!

2-0 out of 5 stars NOT VERY FUN
This game brings you about 1 hour of fun before you get sick of it.All the levels are more or less the same. I would not recommend wasting your money on this.

3-0 out of 5 stars decent version of a simple arcade game
Here is a quick review for you...

If you enjoyed the original arcade version, then you should like this one.The graphics are okay, nothing mind-blowing, and the action is fast but repetitive. One thing about this game that I was suprised about dealt with the amount of difficulty.Frogger gets hard even on the first level, and then becomes downright impossible as you get farther on into the game.Younger players will probably find this fact frustrating and leave the game alone after a week or so. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One hecka fun game!
I think this is the best DKL game ever made. It can be hard to see at times (Or just plain HARD!), but it's still a good, fun game to play. I totally support that other guy's suggestion that there should be a GBA/DS remake.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Game But Its on the SP
This game is the same as Donkey Kong Country. Same Music. Same Baddies. Same EVERYTHING! If you want to buy this, go buy Donkey Kong Country which has BETTER graphics. 4/5 Dudes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but could've been way better.
This game wasn't all that bad. The Graphics were poor to the point that i couldn't see any secret areas. The controls were very good. The concept was great and the game (minus the graphics) itself was great, but the graphics messed it up. I hope Rare re-makes this game for the advance, for it could be a major hit.

1-0 out of 5 stars Come on, I know Nintendo can do better than that!
This game stunk in almost everything, from graphics to sound to gameplay to controls. It was too hard to play due to the fact that the graphics were too poor. It was too difficult to see if there were any secret entrances. Plus the controls weren't great either. It was a little difficult to control DK. This game was good when i first bought it, but than got boring to the point that i ended up selling it. I regret the day i ever brought this game.I'd rather buy DK Country 1 than this piece of junk. In my opinion, this was the worst Donkey Kong game ever made.

4-0 out of 5 stars An Original GB DK
This is about what you can expect from portable Donkey Kong game. It is dumbed down compared to SNES titles. Gameplay is pretty good, but not as impressive as DK Land 2. Graphics never impressed me, but aren't bad either. Sound is pretty decent though. Overall not a bad buy, but one of the weakest links in the franchise. ... Read more

Vegas Games offers many of the most popular casinogames--craps, video poker, slots, blackjack, keno, baccarat, and the moneywheel--but that doesn't necessarily mean that it makes any of thesegames are fun to play.

A more appropriate title for this game might simply be Games, since we associate Vegas with excitement and fanfare (both of which arelacking in this title). It's nearly impossible to tell if you've won atany of the games contained within this bargain pack. Unfortunately,Vegas Games offers no feedback on your victory. No messages. Noflashing lights. Nada. The game doesn't even have sound effects, whichwould have been infinitely preferable to the grating music that plays asyou gamble.

Stats are tracked so you can tell how much you've won or lost at thevarious games, but all records of your victories and defeats are wipedout when the Game Boy is turned off. Video poker is about the only gamethat is fun to play in this collection, but sadly that isn't enough tocarry the game as a whole. --T. Byrl Baker

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This cartridge has a good selection of games but I was disappointed overall. The box says there are sound effects, but actually there are none, only some annoying music (which you can turn off). When you saveyour game, it only seems to remember your balance, not your name or thefact that you have turned off the music.Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the instruction manual offered no help.I found the blackjack game tobe difficult to follow since the game doesn't tell you whether you won orlost the hand, it only tells you when you bust or tie the dealer. You haveto actually watch your money balance to see the result.I also found thecontrols to be confusing and I have found a couple bugs as well.Iwouldn't recommend this to a friend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game for big kids!
Very well implemented games -- slots, roulette, craps, and more. The video poker is as addictive as the real thing. The only minor drawbacks are a few programming bugs (some slots do not seem to score properly, and video pokersometimes misses scoring full houses). Some sound FX would have been nice, instead of the strange music soundtrack (which can be turned off, thankfully). In summary, great entertainment, especially for adults! ... Read more
