Given the target audience, I think the difficulty level is appropriate and even challenging at times. This comes from the fact that the controls are very different from ordinary games, though they are perfect for this one. The buttons are used merely to switch between your many devices rapidly while all game controls actually are executed with the 2 joysticks. It works quite well once you get used to it. It also requires a bit of puzzle-solving and critical thinking for young children to determine which device is best for a specific job. The main point is that the game is just plain fun to play. The action is fact-paced but not stress-inducing. The presentation is refreshing. The graphics are good but nothing stellar. A key is that the big bosses are very funny and novel. Who but the Japanese could present as a major enemy a petite, karaoke-singing monkey girl who grows enraged after you disrupt her chance at stardom? Others are equally zany. Honestly my kids (5&9) love this game and revisit it often. My son often plays the Monkey Soccer mini-game even when he doesn't want to play the normal game; and it's knid of cool that the only monkeys that you can add to your roster are monkeys that you have already captured in the real game. My daughter loves the Dance Monkey Dance mini-game. Rare to find a game that girls and boys enjoy equally like this one. Highly recommended for kids... not good for teens or more edgy audiences.

STORY 4.5/10 As Time Crisis is known for great gameplay, it is also known for crappy storylines. The story is pretty much linear: rescue the kidnapped girl and stop diaz from launching a nuclear sattelite. As the story is not that great, the voice acting is not that great either. This game is not about story, though, so do not worry about it too much, as you will grow used to the cheesy storyline and acting SOUND AND MUSIC 8.5/10 GREAT music during gameplay. it makes me actually pause the game and listen to it. They even remixed the original Time Crisis music so it sounds a little...rock-ish. The only problem I have with the music is during the cutscenes, the music makes me want to rip my own head off, along with the person who made that music, as it is that annoying. On a very positive note, the sound effects are astounding. The gunshots sound very real, the grunting of the men when they fall to their death makes it seem you actually are in the middle of a crisis battle, producing some fun there. GAMEPLAY 9.5/10 The gameplay in this game is extremely fun and addicting, allowing you to play one or two players at the same time. Namco has also added a quite original and fun way to play the game: double gun mode. This mode lets you play with two guns at once (apparantly), and if your thinking, reloading is not that hard. but beware, your accuracy percentage is sure to go down quite a bit. The only thing I think they should have added on are shields for the enemy. Just one shot will kill the enemy, making it a little too easy there. In order to get a real nice challenge, I put the game mode on Very Hard. But do not worry, the game is still very fun GRAPHICS 9/10 Extremely good graphics, as water looks like water, lasers look like lasers and so on. nothing more to say REPLAY VALUE 10/10 This game is a very fun game, and you have different experiences each time you play different modes such as regular 1p, two-player, double gun, and mirror mode. I recommend that you get this game and play with a guncon 2, not a guncon 1

Forget what you've heard. You are not going to pull off the ultimate heist. Your adrenaline will not rush. This is no high octane racer. If you're looking for good racing games on either the PS or PS2, I'd recommend any of the Grand Turismo series, or my personal favorite, Ridge Racer 4 (PS; 5 is for PS2).
Graphics 2/10 - Don't even ask me. Gameplay 2/10 - Okay, but not great. Replay value 2/10 - It needs more options. Missions 1/10 - Not fun. Multiplayer 4/10 - It's okay, but won't hold your intrest. Story line 3/10 - Follows the movie. Bonus features 2/10 - Not worth seeing. Free roam 3/10 - The worlds are tiny and there are only 2. Controls 6/10 - Easy enough for anyone to understand. Music 3/10 - Nothing that makes you say wow. My final rating out of 100 = 28 / 100.

As much as the characters are neat, the real meat of this game is the racing, which is flat out challenging. The goal of Freaky Flyers is simple: Win the race. The game kicked my butt more than once as I worked to figure out the best way to avoid running into trees or pasting myself into canyon walls. There are plenty of powerups and surprises throughout that make getting into the front of the flying pack easier, once you know where they are and how to use them. Some powerups can be won by flying through them, others require very controlled target shooting. The first level, Bigfoot Mountain, pits flyers against a gnarly twisting canyon bristling with pine trees, villages, dams, waterfalls and tunnels. The program won't let you fly over obstacles, so it takes some real skill in tight corners. The graphics are solid here, as long as you don't get too far off the main course, where things get a little sketchy. I tried flying close to several bigfoot creatures and they weren't quite prepared for me. They kept jumping up and down in an odd, rigid way. Meanwhile, I was running 9th in the race and losing bigtime. At the end of the game, the announcer told me in a kindly but firm tone to put down my controller and âstep away from the screen. Luckily, I didn't take his advice. Level 2 took me to Coyote Canyon, another curvy raceway where the speed picks up in a big way. Powerups ripped by and I found myself under attack from other flyers more often. Every plane has unlimited gatling guns, so squeezing off shots isn't associated with the usual problem of where to find more ammo. Some powerups give you rockets, which let you turn the competition into a satisfying flaming gumbo. Level three, Bandito Attack, changes the scene completely. Here you have to protect a fort against heavily armed dudes in sombreros. If you spend too much time picking them off on the ground, their bases in the hills will shell your fort into smoking ruins. If you spend to much time attacking their bases, the pesky sombreros on the ground will... turn your fort into smoking ruins. This wasn't easy. The game doesn't give you any powerups at this level and you're almost totally on your own. The fourth level, Thugsville Chicago, gets more complex and brings in sub characters while notching up the race speed even more. The urban landscape provides tricky canyons of apartment buildings with clothes lines, burning homes (which you have to put out) and more stationary attackers.Onesubgoal is to get the police chief back to headquarters. Luckily, powerups areeverywhere and smart flying rather than shooting seems to be the best strategy. Level five takes you to an Arab scene that is mostly underground and not easy. I don't know how many more levels there are, since I'll admit I'm kinda stuck at level five for the moment. That's a good sign that the designers didn't build this game to be a throw away. It may look wacky, but the software is every bit as powerful as more traditional guns N violence or sports games. The contoller is very responsive in Freaky Flyers. I spent a good deal of time learning to limit my stick movements or I'd go screaming off the race course and get hung up in a mountain pass. The music is good, if a bit repetitive, and there are movies locked among the levels that give you more information about the stories of each character. Each game takes about 5 minutes to play, and if you win, they can be shorter. Sound was a bit repetitive and I found myself turning down the volume. All in all, Freaky Flyers is fun and challenging. You won't be sorry you bought or rented it.
