Amazon.com Review

Sports fans with little interest in video basketball games may want to rethink their stance after getting a look at Sega Sports’ NBA 2K3. They--not to mention hard-core basketball simulation enthusiasts--will likely find it hard to keep from being drawn in by the game’s picture-perfect detail, engrossing realism, and challenging gameplay.

Like NFL 2K3, NBA 2K3 is presented in the patented ESPN style. The game has all the sights and sounds of the NBA: the pomp and circumstance of pregame introductions, accurate arena re-creations, realistic player animations and sizes, and fluid dribbling and shooting (including crossover moves and the ability to change shot direction in midair). All of this is accentuated with special touches such as alley-oops, tipped shots, the ability to make passes on the fly, fierce rebounding battles under the basket, and the added drama and excitement of the ball bouncing off the rim before it either falls in or goes awry.

NBA 2K3 offers a host of moves and modes on either side of the ball, with 25 offensive and 10 defensive plays from which to choose. Throw in fully customizable strategy options--everything from player clutch factor to computer shot tendencies, plus all types of shot percentages and fouls--and it’s easy to create the ideal matchup and game environment. The limitless roster manager feature also ensures that league and franchise modes will keep from getting stale.

Street mode offers a break from the grind of NBA play, allowing you to go two-on-two or all the way up to five-on-five in nine playgrounds and gyms. Pick your favorite players from current teams or choose greats from the '50s through the '80s and go at it as the Ballers vs. the Ringers. Street even features requisite trash talk such as "Yeah! You like that?" and grunts backed with "Get some!" --Larry White

Pros:

  • Accurate, eye-catching graphic representation
  • Challenging artificial intelligence
  • Realistic gameplay
Cons:
  • Blocky player movements
  • Players celebrate with fans after key shots
  • Lob quality of passes

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Basketball Game Made
This is the best basketball game made because if has many more features in it than nba live 2003.This game is also better han any basketball game now because the franchise mode is incredible because you make your own ways through the nba, like you coach your team, play with your team, make your own player, and win titles back to back if you are lucky. It also has street mode where you mix up players from any team and play on some of the geatest courts some nba stars played on when they were young.overall this is a good game when you play it. it might be the best basketball game you played and trust me I have it so go out and buy it I'm sure you are going to have fun playing it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average
There are deffinatly better games out there.NBA 2K3 is cool becauase it ahs the espn look, but the graphics and gameplay deffinatly dont live up to 2003 standards.NBA live 2003 is a much better game.

<<>>

The game has a large variety of game modes, ranging from 1 season, to a frachise mode where you can take ownership of a time and scout players and try to draft them, and play with them for up to 100 years!!The franchise mode is teh thing I got the game for, i wanted something that would last a while, and it did.You can see just what its like to run a team.

NBA 2K3 also has a street mode, where you can play from 2 on 2 up to 5 on 5.You can choose any current stars in the leauge, or older players. You also choose where you want to play, there are about 7 different courts.

3-0 out of 5 stars Low Down on NBA 2K3
Undoubtedly this is GameCube's most realistic basketball game. The 2003 update contains not only the addition of C-stick passiong, but also includes improvements to the passing mechanics themselves and tweaks the previously irritating percentage of shots that are actually scored.
NBA 2K3 is steeped in an almost dour regard for the rules and practices of the sport of basketball. There are no outrageous steals, no somersulting dunks and definitely no smashing of the glass backboard. Instead, this game plays very much like the real thing - perhaps too much so.
Getting to the bare facts:
Visuals: Good animation, presentation and character models. Very nice throughout.
8.3/10
Audio: The commentary falters a lot less than many other sports games.
6.8/10
Gameplay: Serious and accurate, but is that what you really want?
7.2/10
Lifespan: Multiple game modes, expansive options and season-long campaigns.
7.6/10
Originality: Merely builds on and improves the previously decent NBA 2K2 (one of the reasons that I can't give it a good score)
6.3/10
OVERALL SCORE AND THOUGHTS:
-7.1/10 (71%)
Proof that sometimes sports games need a lot less realism. (Probably a good idea to wait for NBA Street 2)

5-0 out of 5 stars The Basketball Game To Get
This is the best Basketball game money can buy so don't miss it!If you have an Xbox with Xbox Live get it on there so you can take the competition online.

4-0 out of 5 stars CHANGE OF HEART
i wrote a review of this game a couple of months ago and after starting to play this game again have changed my mind.i thought before it was slow and the passes were too balloon like.but i have started playing the game on fast mode which i believe brings the game up to regular speed and brings back some of the fast break points.fast mode doesn't make it like nba live, it just makes it regular nba speed.this game is very real.just watch the passes and watch how the computer plays at times (penetrating and dishing out).although the computer doesn't know how to handle a zone (jacking up three point shot with whoever is at the top of the key).the only thing to watch out for is the game freeze on franchise mode. this will drive you crazy ...

Even if you're not the type to bleat out the 1975 hit "Convoy" over a CB radio, you'll probably still get the sweats thinking about racing with 20 tons of cargo pushing your rig. In Eighteen Wheeler: American Pro Trucker, you'll choose between four 18-wheel trucks, and then ride against rival truckers and the clock as you try to deliver your payload intact and on time. The game offers 20 stages from New York to San Francisco, as well as four play modes: Arcade, Parking Challenge, Score Attack, and Versus. Eighteen Wheeler is compatible with separately sold steering-wheel controllers.

3-0 out of 5 stars 10-04 everybody!
I got this game 2 years ago when I just got my gamecube, and I just hate shifting up and down, but I just love pretending to be a trucker and blowing the airhorn! There is only $ trucks to choose from, and the trucks are shake alot.

1-0 out of 5 stars This Game Stinks!!!
This is the most boring game I have played in my lifetime! In the arcade mode of the game you have to drive four stretches of highway, after you finish with all of the four stretches you finish the whole Arcade mode. After you finish the Arcade mode you will win another trucker, and then you can do the whole thing over, over and over again. BORING!!!

I tout the only challenge of the game was the Parking mode, in the parking mode you have to park your truck in four diffrent locations

In conclution this game is a HUGE dissapointment!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars boring
When I got 18 wheeler i thoght it whould be more difrent from the arcade game. And i hoped i would get more freedom but your always on a track with a time limet. and really it only has 2 modes that get really boring.

4-0 out of 5 stars BOO! 18 Wheeler STINKS!
There is completly no point in this game. This game is so easy. You would think it would be hard to do, but it's simple. I beat it in less than a hour. Parking mode is stupid because you get a few seconds to park in a square, that's far away. Rent it first, you probably would not like it. If you buy it first, you will regret it. It's a thumbs down game.

1-0 out of 5 stars WORST GAME EVER
This had to be the worst game that I have ever played. It might have been better if it were more challenging. I beet the game in a matter of minutes. Multiplayer even stunk. All you do is, drive while being timed and race 1 other truck. How boring is that.

Most boring game ever!!!!!!! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Good lord, this sucks
When I rented Disney's Hide and Sneak, I wasn't expecting much. However, I did not expect it to suck this much.

The first problem you will probably notice is how boring the gameplay is. There are a few puzzles that a braindead person could beat, and there are stealth parts that nobody can lose at.

The only good thing I can say about this game is that the graphics and sound is OK.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a truly wretched game.
Well, the House of Mouse is at it again, freely pimping out its licensed characters to just about whoever wants to feature them in a video game."Hide & Sneak" is the worst one yet that I've had the pleasure of playing.

You can play as Minnie or Mickey in this platform/puzzle game. What you'll mostly be doing is running around and occasionally jumping up on a nearby box when an enemy is going to attack you.Doesn't that sound fun?No?Hmm...I don't know why not. There are also a few "puzzle" areas that usually consist of something like pulling switches in a certain order or raising platforms in a certain order.

I am getting tired of saying this but apparently developers aren't getting tired of hearing the complaints. The camera is awful! You only have very limited control over the camera and the game prefers showing you from a head-on shot.Of course, that means you can never see what's right in front of you or what is going to kill you just around that corner.Gee...thanks!

Don't worry though, the ridiculous camera isn't going to stop you from quickly beating this game.In fact, people in a rush are sure to love this title. At the end of the game, Capcom has the nerve to show you how long your playing time was.My time was 1 hour and 48 minutes!I'm not going to embarrass myself by telling you how much I paid for a game I beat in under 2 hours.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. You like Disney?Buy the "Kingdom Hearts" games and ignore all of the other shallow, opportunistic games they try and make a fast buck off of. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BRUTAL!
this is the beat soccer game you can get. i am a huge fan of fighting games and soccer, so this game was perfectfor me. the best feature is the boost button. with it, you can headbut, punch, and dropkick other players weather its to get the ball or not. plus you can exicute matrix style kicks at the goal, like scissors kicks, frontflip shots and even a flamingo karate shot!i could play for hours and you probablt will to if you get this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars I really need this game
I would like to know if i can buy this game from you because i really want it and can't find it anywhere. please let me know if i can or not!

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok Soccer
It's okay, but not nearly as brutal and insane as it should have been.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a good soccer game
This game rocks! After reading all the reviews, I was very excited about getting this game. All of my waiting paid off one day when my package arrived. When I started playing I noticed the superb graphics in this game. The gameplay was awsome!!! Although it was kind of hard at fist I picked it up easily. This game is nice and challenging with lots of options and bone crunching tackles. The tackles are fun and make the game more exciting, but sometimes they can get a little too much, because the ref barely calls them even if you do put him on the strictest level. Overall this is the best soccer title that I have ever played.

3-0 out of 5 stars NON REALISTIC
Ok to start off, this game is a very fast pace and fast action game; much like that off NFL Blitz. If your looking for realism, this is not the game ur looking for. Graphics... not bad, but the accuracy and precision you have to make is virtually nothing.A much more realistic game would be FIFA 2002 or 2003- more precise, realistic, and excellent game play.If you are looking for a game to just flat out hurt someone while getting soccer in there in the meantime, heres your game.Overall, it's a pretty good game, just not the type of soccer you may be looking for. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Playability of any Hockey Game
Complaints I have with other hockey games like EA Sports and Fox Sports titles is that they are either too easy or too hard. This game allows an amazing amount of customization of the difficulty so you can apply a little more difficulty to offset something you are really good at when you want more of a challenge.

I have seen some complaints about the fantasy aspects of NHL Hitz but I think they add a lot of fun to the game. I also like the fact that you play 3-on-3 (plus goaltender). That really opens up the ice for some beauty goals and spectacular hits.

This game is just too fun to miss!

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome hockey game!
NHL Hitz 2003 is the best hockey game i have ever played. Its fun and the hitting is awesome. The graphics are sweet and the controls rock! The hitz are really cool, a little unrealistic but just enough to make it fun over regular hockey games. Also you arent really pestered by too many peneltys but a few obvious ones to keep it real. Also the graphics are really good you can really see the hockey players fly through the glass on hard hitting checks like your there!Over all I give it an A+.

1-0 out of 5 stars Inaccuracy
The game at first is pretty fun--I like how you can get in goalie fights and check the goalie. The graphics are excellent--each individual players face look exactly like the actual player. The pronounciation of the players names are TERRIBLE.They can pronounce some of the more difficult names, but can't pronounce simple names such as Roy (Wah), etc...The mini games, heads, names of created teams, etc... are really corny, making this game seem to be more for a five-year-old.The game gets boring quick. The game being a checking and fighting game, with no actual rules of the game of hockey in it, makes it very irritating--such as icing, tripping, etc...

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game
This is probably the best NHL game on GameCube right now, its fun and easy to play! The only draw back is only being able to have one season going at a time, however the non stop hitting and fun with the game overcomes that one little problem!I would recommend the Hitz game over any of the other 2003 NHL games!

5-0 out of 5 stars BUY THE GAME
Don't let the "2002 version is better" reviews. I played this game last night and I bought it a couple of hours ago, I have played 2001, 2002, and 2003. BUY 2003 VERSION.
Sometimes you could call this game "War" because if you turn penaltys off you can check to your heart's content. Last night at my friends house we got 233 checks in a game!
This game isn't about checking though (even though when people ask me how to steal I tell them "X") this game is perfect for hardcore hockey fans. This game is so in depth that you can change equitment! Favorite game ever. Parents, buy it for your kids, kids, beg your parents or buy it yourself. g2g bye! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is okay
This game can be lots of fun, but you can get tired of it easily. You can do championship, where you have to choose a team and try and beat all the other teams. You can also do something where you can be playing against a friend. You can get into a fight with other players and fight them. One thing I like about this game is that you can get credits by answering a question right and spend them in the hockey shop, where there is different courses and made up teams that rock.Another thing I like about this game is taht it is 4 player. You can check, shoot, pass, and do a dance with your hockey stick that prevents checks. One really cool thing about this game is that you can make uo you're own team. You can name each player, name the team, choose a sign for your team, choose a number for each player, choose how good your players are, and choose if a player is fat, skinny, big headed, tall, short, or with sticking out ears. But like I said, it can get boring after a while. If you like everything I said about this game then you'll really like this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's allright but it gets old
Allright this game is pretty cool but if your looking for a real hockey game this is not for you. Unrealistic and fake gameplay Hitz does not deliver even the slightest bit of realisim. But, aside from that fact, it is a very fun fast pace game. If you play alone then the game is really not that fun, but with two or more people it is a riote(check my spelling on that!). Creating a team is a little of a pain. Instead of creating a really good team right away, you have to earn it by playing your sorry team against the real NHL teams. Of course the teams are dumbed down a bit to make it a little bit easier but it still takes a very very very long time. I'm still working on it.(Darn I just lost!) Oh,... uh anyway...umm...Hitz....Hitz...man. Hitz what can I say.

4-0 out of 5 stars The title doesnt say it all.
If your one of the people who hate the rules of hockey like offsides and 2 line passing then this games for you. It is probably 1 of the greatest games i played all year. Instead of those wimpy checks in those other nhl games, you will get hit hard. Also in the game you can check your opponent into the glassin which the glass breaks if u hit him hard enough. You can create your own team with your friends. There are also special teams and stadiums too. The only drawback about this game in which i hate is that when you get into a fight with someone on the other team, and if you lose the fight, you lose that player for the rest of the game. I dont care if you lose a player in the 1st period or the 3rd, it still gives the other team a chance to come back. This is why i gave this game 4 out of 5 stars. I hope all of you who read this, to try the game, and i hope you like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game...
I have seen some of the online reviews for this game and they did not look good. But when I saw Hitz on sale at a store, I decided to try it.And I must say that this is a great game.Any fan of NFL Bitz style games and a fan of hockey should get it.It has some great features including a create-a-team and points to raise their stats. This game has few flaws, but one is that you can only use 3 skaters at one time for a whole period(3 minutes). All in all, this game is summed up like this:

Pros:
Great music, includes tracks from Stained, Limp Bizkit, and Fuel.

Create-a-team options, also you can raise points up for the ultimate team.

High replay level.Even if you beat the game(isn't to hard), you can still play a friend, exibition, franchise, and a bunch of training games.

Cons:
Only 3 players on a team, out of a possible 6 to choose from.

The gameplay ins't realistic(if that's what your looking for)

And there are too few movements, there should be combo moves like triple dekes and such.

But this game is great, and ANYONE who's a fan of sports should get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Go Avalanche!
Quite simply, this is one of the best games I've ever encountered in my twenty-plus years of gaming. I've never liked sports games before, but from the moment I started this game I was hooked. I've always loved hocky, but found that most games were either too dull, too complicated or just didn't have the graphics that make this game light up the way it does on the Game Cube. If you don't own this game, buy it! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Realistic gameplay combined with total control over your team make Sega’s NHL 2K3 the game of choice for serious hockey fans. The game captures all the intricacies of the NHL, from the furious, hard-hitting action on the ice to the day-to-day decisions made in the front office. Don’t like the production you’re getting out of one of your players? Send him down to the minors for a few weeks of seasoning to get his game in order. Prefer high-scoring shootouts or 1-0 grind-it-out defensive struggles? Tweak the game’s highly customizable AI to set things just the way you like them. Regardless of your preferences, NHL 2K3 delivers the goods to make this a more than passable hockey sim.

Like most of Sega’s recent sports releases, NHL 2K3 hangs its hat on stellar gameplay and sweet graphics. Little, if anything, is overlooked: players move and react much like their real-life counterparts--goalies are especially acrobatic; the puck seamlessly glides, flips, and bounces around the rink and off the posts and goalie’s pads; players can be pinned to the boards during a scramble for the puck; missed shots are covered up by a diving goalie or slapped in off ensuing rebounds; arenas are painstakingly re-created and feature music and sounds specific to each. Off the ice, there’s plenty of strategy and options to tinker with. NHL 2K3 boasts over 30 sliders to alter effects ranging from ice friction to referee collisions. And, of course, there’s the franchise mode that allows up to 250 years of dynasty building. --Larry White

5-0 out of 5 stars The fun goes on and on!
I got this game about 8 months ago and I still say it is my favorite title for gamecube. If you want a game with an in depth franchise and unlimeted replay value this is your game. This game is so much fun.You will love it.

3-0 out of 5 stars better then nhl 2003 but still not good
buy nhl 2002 its cheaper and better you can update the rosters yourself

5-0 out of 5 stars NHL 2K3 Score !!!
NHL 2K3 Very good game . Graphics are well done the game play seems faster than EA's NHL 03 . I like the real names of the arenas and the banners as well . The crowds look real and the gameplay is realistic .

5-0 out of 5 stars The Nest so Far...
I have played EA NHL2003 and NHL2k3 is by far more realistic in the game play. The attention to the details of the game are excellent.
My favorite features are:
1. You have to actually think were you are passing to and aim the pass accurately.
2. Fighting for the puck on the boards. No hockey game ever did this.
3. Scoring is not ridiculously easy like the EA game. These goalies mean business (excellent replays and commentary)

Simply put: This game rocks.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great evolution of the arcade series!
Virtua Striker was the pioneering arcade 3D soccer game. While its arcade-style gameplay hasn't been a favorite of the die-hard sim nuts, it has never failed to keep me entertained.

This latest version of Virtua Striker goes a long way towards being a great all-around soccer experience. The classic arcade feel is still very much intact, although the controls and player movement has been refined quite nicely.

What really makes this game cool is the "Road to International Cup" mode, which lets you raise a team from scrubs to champs. It's a lot like the World Tour mode in Tennis 2K2, where you gain experience and work with schedules. It's always fun to have full control over your team, and this mode does a great job at that.

So, if you like the arcade-style play of the VS series, you won't be disappointed with Virtua Striker 2002.

5-0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to playing this great soccer game...
I can't wait to get this game. After playing this series on other systems, I can attest that this game is one of the best soccer games available.I'm sure that Sega will do an awesome job for the Cube, making this the best one yet!

1-0 out of 5 stars Virtual Striker 2002
This game [bite] its the worst game ive ever played the grafics [are horrible] and the way the game is set up for u to play if so dumb u should not play or buy this game it is so horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Soccer to the max!
You get Awesome visuals, 64 Countries to play with, 1400 selectable athletes, 13 Large and Extremely detailed statiums, lots of modes like Road to World Cup, Tournament and Versus Match, and plus, 1-4 players!

Virtua Striker 3 v.2002 on the GameCube will retain the DNA of the past Virtua Strikers in the series but will hopefully attempt to improve up the awkward controls of its predecessors. The game at this point in its development doesn't seem to improve up the controls of its previous efforts. The controls feel loose and fail to live to walk side by side with the games incredible visuals. Where Amusement Vision has impressed however is in the facade of the title. Going into a football game has never felt so intimidating in a soccer title before, with the impressive size of the well animated crowd barring down upon you and the usual pomp and National anthems associated with games of this sort.

All the usual modes are included in this game, from a versus mode to a decent tournament mode. However we'll get to that later because the most important inclusion in Virtua Striker 3 v.2002 is a Road to the World cup mode. Within this mode players willl have to choose from one country from a pool of 64 and take that said country through to the world cup. The task isn't as that though, there's years left for you to play in the game. That's right, I said years. In the Road to World Cup mode the player must increase their teams abilities over a period of four years playing through preliminary matches, a group league and then search for glory in the final tournament. The team that the player builds during this mode can be used in any of the other modes in the game as well. Now you can finally pay back some of the teams that trounced you in the past with a carefully nurtured dream team.

The other modes are standard soccer fare and shouldn't really throw up any surprises. International Cup is the same mode you'll see in any other soccer title you pick up in your local [retail store]. Pick one International team duke it out against 32 other teams for the International Cup (it wishes it was the world cup). Four groups of eight teams battle through to the last eight before the showdown between the final two challengingers. The next mode is a little more interesting though. The Tournament mode involes choosing your team to go into a tournament against four, eight or sixteen other countries. League mode is obvious. A league of either four, sixteen or thirty-two countries and challenge each other home and away. What is not so obvious is the fact that points are awarded for playing style which is an interesting little addition to spice up the mundane league mode (especially without real player names). Among the plethora of modes is Ranking mode which allows players to play against up to four cpu controlled teams. The results of the matches are then analyzed and you are given a rank. Finally there is your standard versus mode where you can go up against your friends as each of your repectd countries and let the dissing commence.

Virtua Striker 3 v.2002 also features a create-player mode as well as editing abilities allowing fully customiseable football freaks or superhumans depending on your editing abilities. The game allows almost anything in site to be edited. Player names, uniforms, formations and even full teams can be created along with the kit color.

The place in which the game really shines however is in the visual department. The stadiums are massive and contain the best itteration of a crowd since... well ever. The player models are extreemlly detailed and animate wonderfully. The GameCube doesn't have any problems drawing these high detail polygon models at 60fps. Detailed texturing and shadows add to the realism of the experience while incidental details such as grass blades ripping out the ground at every twist and turn. Finally a beautifully rendered sky and accurate uniforms will have you double checking you tv screens.

Virtua Striker 3 v.2002 will arrive at a time when Fifa 2002 will have infitrated many home and ISS2 will be breathing down it's neck. The great aspect of it though is that the title should retain it's arcade roots and this may act as another advantage for the title. While others attempt imitate soccer right to the formations of actual managers Virtua Striker 3 for the GameCube looks to distance itself from the others with simplistic arcadey gameplay.

Graphics, great! I can't belive they could do so good with it! 10/10
Fun, this game sounds fun, but I think it could get boring after a while. Even with World Cup. 8/10
Gameplay, as I said, I think it could get boring after hitting the ball 50 times, 8/10
Sound, no word on Sound yet, I'm making a guess. 9/10
Overall, you like Soccer Games, you like this game! 8.5/10 Or 4 Stars for Amazon.com! ... Read more

Featuring 16 of the best leagues and more than 75 national teams, 2002 FIFA World Cup brings the game of the world to your fingertips. You will execute curling corner kicks, awesome slide tackles, shots from the top of the box, crunching challenges, and palm-wringing penalty kicks.

Among the major enhancements to this version is the passing system--the core of any real soccer (football) game. It now emulates the same decisions made in a real match. Gamers can place the ball anywhere on the field of play, resulting in an immensely increased repertoire of developing plays. Teammates now make long up-field runs, diagonal runs through the midfield, and streaks across the back of an opponent's defense. They'll call for the ball as they break, letting you know to pass to the space ahead of them.

EA Sports also totally rewrote the AI. The AI now searches for space and key weaknesses in your team's positioning, and will make off-the-ball runs or build up intelligent passing plays before striking a precise through ball behind your last line. Depending on the difficulty level, the AI will create a much more interesting and challenging opponent than in previous versions. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
Finding soccer games for gamecube at stores is hard. I was originally looking for FIFA 2003 or 04 but could never find it. I stumbled upon this game at a store and saw soccer on it and I purchased it.

It was great. I cant compare it to anyother soccer games cuz ive never played any others, but this was really fun. I love how its challenging and is so fast paced. The controls are simple and the graphics are pretty good.

There is one thing thats a bummer. I know that FIFA has all the teams: national teams, club teams, and league teams. 2002 FIFA world cup has only national teams. There are about 40 contries, all seeking to win the World Cup.

This game is made by EA Sports and it carries all of their quality. This game is awesome. It is a great alternative to FIFA. It may be better.

3-0 out of 5 stars Let's play Soccer.
This was a good game when it came out but there are newer and better soccer games around now.Try FIFA 2003 or Winning Eleven Six.

2-0 out of 5 stars Realistic Sport Action
When I played FiFa Soccer,I loved it.I even scored a lot of goals(for the wrong team). The commentator is very funny.Everything looks real. And the soccer stars get in fights with the referee. Why have I given it only 2 stars?Well,I rate depending on how much I like something, even though others might really like it,who knows? And I just am not interested in the game any longer. But if I were to rate it by whether or not I think people with different taste to me would like it then I would probably give it a fairer rating of 3.(I sound completely insane).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game For a Great Console!
I love this game! The gameplay is simple although it does take about a half hour to get used to the (great) controls. The graphics are A-W-E-S-O-M-E! The character detail is AMAZING. I could actually tell who the player was just by looking at him! I couldnt do that in any other soccer game before. Also the character animation is very realistic. This game is also fun for multiplayer purposes. I had a great time playing this game with my friends. There are some new teams to unlock but not enough to satisfy my needs for unlockables.

Oh yeah by the way: GO GERMANY!!!

I hope that helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game while it lasted
I loved this game.YOu could play seasons, (all of the home page of All Star Baseball 2002)I just got in to season and you can trade, I had the best team, but I found out my game was scratched(I scratched it) and so now I'm getting All Star Baseball 2003.I would get 2003 for the BEST baseball game for gamecube.

3-0 out of 5 stars good for when friends come over but not season play
There are a lot of things about this game that are great: the players batting is very realistic, the commentary is clear and applies to the gameplay, and the players remind you of the actual people they represent. However, the gameplay is among the worst in baseball video game history.Running the bases correctly is an experiment in futility. Hits that should clearly be a double (off the wall, in the gap) inevitably end up with the runner being thrown out at second because the game stops the player at first and you have to madly press on the gamepad to get them to run to second, which they do inevitably, but too late. Fielding is inaccurate for the outfield.Players stand under where the ball is dropping and it bounces in front of them. Also, every time I play in the season mode, the game ends up letting the better teams from that year (especially the mets and yanks) score 12 runs. These are great teams, but not that great every game.Anyway, I was sorely disappointed with the season mode for all of the details mentioned. But the game is a lot of fun for a buddy to come over and play with. If you are looking to just mess around and play a video game once in a while it's not bad at all, especially for a reduced cost (I would say the game is worth about [money]), but stay away if you want to have a long term investment in a fantasy league.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game
Fun game to play I play it almost every day. I like because I'm a basball player. It could have been just a little better I think good holiday gift.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good play . . . bad errors
This game has wonderful graphics right down to the mascot. However, glitches in the game make it hard to really enjoy the game. Such as players running through walls to catch foul balls. Batting and pitching are pretty simple. If you can get past the glitches this game is fun and entertaining. Trust me this game does not play on didactic platitudes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but extremly flawed.
... There are plenty of options includiong full seasons, trading, roster creating, creating player, exibitions, and all star games. There is defianly a lot to do.Now in the actual game it is quite fun, especially with more then one player but you will have to overlook serious flaws to do so. Numerous fielding and batting errors can seriously derteriate the games funness, but not too much. There is still a lot of fun to be had making your own team and taking them to the world series. So, anyfan of baseball, on a limited budget, should defiantly pick this up, despite it shortcommings. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

The 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City have inspired a lot oftie-ins and licensed material, but oddly enough one of the best 2002 Olympic-stylesports games is based on the ESPN license, and completely lacks Olympic rings, torches, and fanfare. But even without official Olympic magic, ESPNInternational Winter Sports 2002 wins a gold thanks to smooth and simpleplay.

The game features just about every Winter Olympic sport worth watching: downhillalpine skiing, slalom skiing, bobsledding, half-pipe snowboarding, ski jumping, freestyle mogul skiing, speed skating, figure skating, and curling. Hockey isnotably absent from this list; the game developer rightly assumed that hockeyfans will be served by a dedicated hockey game such as NHL 2002.

The included events use clever but simple control schemes, and the basics ofeach event are explained with a tutorial designed to quickly teach users how toperform the necessary actions and go about the business of breaking records. Forexample, ski jumping involves quickly pressing two buttons and then a third tojump, pressing the first two again to extend your distance and the third againto land. Bobsledding mainly demands a smooth touch of the digital stick, whilefigure skating is a choreographed event in which the player performs onscreenprompts. It's amusing that a game for such a fancy new system uses a controlscheme based on the old-school Track & Field arcade machine, but in thepast 20 years nobody has come up with a better way to simulate Olympic sport.

While the controls may be dated, the graphics are unmistakably on the cuttingedge. The game looks brilliant, crisp, and pure as the day after a light snow. The snow fans up when skiers turn, and the polygonal athletes have excellentfacial graphics. The presentation is fantastic and so is multiplayer mode with abuddy.

So, when Olympic fever strikes--even if the Olympics are long gone--you'll wantto have a copy of Konami's ESPN International Winter Sports 2002.--Bob Andrews

--This text refers to the Xboxversion of the game.

Pros:

  • Excellent controls and a wide range of sports to play
  • Looks fantastic
Cons:
  • The controls aren't really simulations; they can even be physically tiring
  • It's missing Olympic accouterments and athletes

5-0 out of 5 stars The best
I think this game is the best i have ever played it's worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Just What You'd Expect
Winter Sports 2002 isn't a great game. But anyone familiar with these types of Olympics games should know exactly what they're getting.

There is a lot of hitting buttons ala 80's Track and Field style Olympic games. The difficulty of the games is getting the timing down and either you like that kind of game or you don't. If you do, then this game offers a couple of good events -- moguls and halfpipe are probably the most interactive events.

The downhill skiiing is difficult to control and is quickly annoying. It also doesn't help that the characters lack any personality. Part of the fun of Track and Field was that there was a myriad of countries to choose from -- that's just not here.

The music during the game is also somewhat mellow -- which I find appealing. I'm not interested in being stimulated for hours on a game console so this game works in that regard.

The best thing to do with this game is have a friend over, crack open something intoxicating, then give the game a try.

2-0 out of 5 stars dont waste your money
this game is not fun it was very hard. Cost to much money.DONT BUY IT!!...

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad game
Don't let them fool you by the cover it's not as good as it looks! It gets boring very fast and it's harder than most games. They make it look fun to make you want to buy it.Don't throw your money for it.

2-0 out of 5 stars No Gold Medal For This
This is a dull game(what a surprise!Another dull Gamecube game!)in which each event consists of pressing one or two buttons over and over again. The best event is ice dancing, but even that is disappointing. It involves trying to press your green button over and over at the exact right time. The more accurate you are,the better the figure-skater will perform. The less accurate you are,the more they will fall or miss special moves.Warning;as someone who never suffers motion-sickness,I got sick while watching the flasing arrows and trying to press my button just as theyhit the spot theyre supposed to.All in all,a disappointing and boring game. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars The All-Star Series is BACK!
Of course all of you baseball fans out there that have a nintendo system know about the game series of All-Star Baseball that has continued from 1999-2004. Everyone that has owned one of these games knows how great it is. There is no dissapointment when you've gotten your own addition of All-Star Baseball 2003. The graphics are great, the gameplay is good, and the commentary is outstanding. The 2003 addition has some more features for all of you All-Star fans.

Of course, since 1999, all the All-Star games feature the same diffeent types of gameplay including: Exhibition, Season, Series, Home Run Derby, Batting Practice, Create A Player, etc. Well get ready All-Star lovers because this 2003 version has a brand new feature never seen before. The new feature is called "Expansion Mode." This mode allows you to build your own baseball team. First, you chose from over a dozen major cities througout the US that have never been used before such as: Dallas, Hartford, Birmingham, etc. Then you choose your team's new stadium with 6 never before used staiums. Then you choose the team's logo which includes everything from: Aviators - Tornadoes. Then of course you have a player draft to put your team together and make it come alive. The last thing is choose your league either National or American. This features is awsome!

A new minor feature is in Season mode. First of all, you can create your own player and put him on the team roster before you start a season. Remember you couldn't create another player once your in Season mode? Well on this one you can! Anytime during the season you can create another player and add him to your roster. Another small feature is the Weather Forecast. On the main menu of your season there is an icon that says Weather Forecast. When you enter this option it shows you all the forecasts for all the scheduled games for that particular day. There is a huge US map that has a star on the location you're looking at the forecast for. It Below it displays the game of who versus who, the day's high and low temps with a weather picture next to it such as: Rain, Sunny, Cloudy, Overcast, etc. Then it displays the current temp, and also the wind speeds along with the precipitation percentage. This is a real cool feature.

The gameplay is outstanding. The game features accurately updated player batting and pitching stances. Also it features new throwing and fielding manuevers more and more like real life. The faces are so incredibly detailed that you actually think you're at the game! The stadiums look 10x better than ever before and also include the new stadiums for Expansion mode, Batting Practice and Home Run Derby.

However, there is a bit of a downside to the game's gameplay which is why I rated the game 4 stars instead of 5. In all the All-Star games the cathes are a little off to the side and not exactly lined up with the glove. That is basically the only downside to the game. Other than that this game is undoubtably amazing. This is the best of the All-Star series yet and it just keeps getting better and better from here. It's all up from here on!

3-0 out of 5 stars ASB2k3-new but old
Now that ASB 2004 is out, I think you are better off buyiing that. ASB 2K3 does not include a manual instant replay and many other cool things.

2-0 out of 5 stars All Star?What!?
This has to be the weakest baseball series there is.Buy a different baseball game and be much happier.

3-0 out of 5 stars ok but bad for season play

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Baseball game
This is a good baseball game if you are a hardcore fan.I like the expansion option alot.the only problem with this game is that it is too repeditive, and hard for a newcomer to pick up (I played one of my friends, and we stopped playing because I was winning too badly).Over all, though, I liked this game a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best game in the univerese
This game is the coolest! you can call really neat defensive plays and also make your own plays! there's even ablilty to unlock retired QB's like Steve Young and Dan Marino and the graphics are unreal! this game is awesome

1-0 out of 5 stars horiible game!
I hated this game evrything u can possibly imagine bad in a football game it has. A horrible game do not buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Touchdown for Acclaim Entertainment!!!
I have QB Club 99 for the N64 and that's great. But here comes QB Club 2002 for the gamecube and i didn't hesitate to buy it. With it's all new game play, more recivers (A, B, X, Y, and R)and better graphics. I only have three minor complaints
1. The anouncers sometimes say the wrong player or team.
2. The normal camera view is a little far away.
3. You can't create a team. (maybe you can I not sure)
But trust me this is a great game and has a great season gameplay. The quarterback challenge is a major up point and the create a player is fabulous. The only thing I haven't done is go to the Super Bowl in New Orleans with the Jaquars....

2-0 out of 5 stars This game sucks
This game is a terrible excuse for a GameCube game. The graffics are just a bit better than PS One.

There are so many glitches with it also. The announcers continually say the wrong player names, and sometimes say the team names wrong.

The gameplay is also very below par.You can score on every play using the hail mary with a fast receiver. When players don't catch the ball, the ball bounces off of them like it was flubber.

Get Madden 2002 instead. It looks better, has a franchise mode, has a better create a player option, and is overall a lot funner (which is what really matters).

5-0 out of 5 stars I Own QB Club and It's Great!
In a strange sequence of events, I found this game a few days ago at the bottom of an N64 clearence bin.I don't know why it's there, but I love it!The graphics in QB Club are slightly better than Madden, and are a huge improvment over past N64 QB Club games. The sound is also great (you can hear the play-by-play, the quarterback calling audibles, etc.).All 31 NFL stadiums (plus 2 bonus stadiums) are beautifully reproduced and it feels as if you're in the stadium. In addition, QB Club has create-a-player and free agents which allow you to customize and improve teams. Also, QB Club's QB Challenge mode is a fun test for when you dont want to play a full game.In summary, if you're a football fan, or if you're looking for a great Gamecube game buy NFL QB Club 2002.It's a great game! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars crash bandicoot
crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex is an excellent game i got it the chrhismas of 2001 and its vibrant gameplay extrodinary sound and untraditional gameplay make it perhaps the greatest game launched that year your sent into an interactive 3d world with exceptional sound qaulity graphics and a taste of adventure making the previous 3 games look boring it features an ultra dynamic 3d envirorement its the future of crash bandicoot games although one thing that might disappoint the avid gamer is the game is still held in the confinements of a warp room and crystals gems and rellics are still to be collected and some of its levels are extrodinarily hard one particular portal the nineth portal that sinking feeling is superhard harder than just about anything ever featured in a crash game but its unlimited vareitys of levels like the rhinoceras chase japeneese village underwater escape and blizzardy moautintop is enough to keep you entertained plus new bosses are in the game including a water monster and air giant and theyre all upset crash has set foot into there capsules the end boss crunch is extremely hard in fact ive stopped fighting him a while back but good luck if you think you can beat him because of all these qaulities i would definitly recomend this game to not only crash fans but to just about all gamers ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Barbie... I hate it but I will say what happened
This (wana be) game was sopose to be released in 1st quarter 2003. But, Nintendo decide to cancel the order and it was never released

1-0 out of 5 stars Stupid
I hated this game because it was horrible.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie treasures in time
I,mvery interested in to get this item, but there is no one (not in stock) in the store "TOYS R US" by long time ago. If somebody is interested in sale this item please contact me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie makes her Nintendo Gamecube debut . . .
This will be the first time Barbie has ever appeared on a Nintendo video game console since the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Even though I thought the PSOne demo of Barbie Explorer lacked a video game necessity called "fun", I can't wait to play this one.

Now if only they'd make an African American or Hispanic Barbie video game.

The game keeps getting delayed. Also, Vivendi is undergoing some changes, according to news sources such as GameSpot, so there really is no guarantee that Barbie TiT will ever make it to stores. Too bad, really. I was looking forward to this one. ... Read more
