5-0 out of 5 stars Refreshing fun with a retro character
While the gameplay may not be the most ground breaking, the fun factor behind this game is great. The cartoonish atmosphere and the characters will make kids and adults alike smile throughout the game. Whether it's Harry's wit, the damsels in distress, the talking animals or the "oooga booga" natives, the humor and the story work well together, as well as keep challenging and fun gameplay through 50 levels.

If you are looking for a technology reveloution, look elsewhere. If you are looking to have mindless entertaining fun, this is your game. You will find yourself smiling throughout.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok,but has been done.
This is just another Mario, Crash Bandicoot game. It's ok I guess but if you've played these other games, you'll see what I mean. You just go from level to level, aquiring items to alow you do do certain things and make certain moves. It's ten dollars less than most new games, that's good.I was hoping it would have more of the feeling of the old Pit Fall.I loved the old one, and it was simple. Don't get me wrong, I love the new technology, but I think they could have done better. You do get to unlock the origional games on the Xbox version. I haven't done it yet, but that might make it worth something. The character in this game is like a cartoon character, not a real person, it's more geared towards children.
Now the real down side, there are too many glitches. Some stunts you are supposed to be able to perform don't always work.Sometimes you fall into places an it freezes up.
The upside: I do like games where you can rotate the camera all the way around, and this one does it.You don't easily fall off things and die, even if you do fall, you can fall a great distance and not die.You can escape from the jaws of crocodiles. You life meter is pretty long giving you a lot of oportunity, and a reserve canteen makes it easier, both of these can be added to as you go.You don't really have to fight big bosses at the end of levels like in other such games. The graphics are good for the cartoon like game that it is.It's an ok game.Rent it first and see if you like it.Younger players may get a hoot out of it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pitfall Harry is the man
I got a chance to play through a demo of this game and really enjoyed it. I grew up playing the original Pitfall on the Atari 2600 and even the mediocre Sega Genesis version, but this new developer (Edge of Reality) really "gets" the game. Pitfall does not take itself too seriously, but it really is a seriously good action/platformer game. You'll have fun, and so will your kids. It's a title the whole family can sit down and play. Go ahead, take it for a swing. :-) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The true voice
I found that this game was very enjoyable. It was original in the world of star trek. The controlls could have been better but were acceptable. It also could have benifited from a co-op mode, but overall it was a great game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Whoa what a mark on Star Trek gaming
Im not really sure what this drivel is.This has to be the worst concept for a game I have ever seen. There is no way, a fan of Star Trek developed this game.Had to be some goofball who enjoys pitiful flight simulators.Stay away from this title.

1-0 out of 5 stars this game totally sucks
what does this game have to do with Star Trek???the scenario is totally contrived, and even if it weren't the game play is horrible

2-0 out of 5 stars Should have heeded the warnings
I went ahead and bought this game, despite the repeated onine warnings against it.

While I actually enjoyed the ship graphics (the character CG is terrible), I got terribly frustrated. Even with all the cheats, this game is near impossible to complete.I gave it a month, on and off, and finally got rid of it.

Unless you just want the opportunity to blow up original series starships, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away!

3-0 out of 5 stars A good game...
While this game may not be the best Star Trek related game ever created, (...) it is an entertaining game.Certainly, it is a good starting point for X-Box games.
I will say that the battles are mind-bogglingly difficult. So difficult in fact that you will probably take several hours just to get even the smallest victory out of it.(...)Personally, I find this to be the more entertaining aspect of the game, as Captain Sulu screams at you to quit firing.
Overall, while it may not be the best Trek game ever produced, it does have its entertaining moments which make it worth playing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet Juju!!
I love to play action adventure games. I have never come across an adventure game like this! It ROCKS THE HOUSE!! I have an xbox so I couldn't get the first one but heard it was really funny. I was so glad when finally It was for xbox(Who cares if it is the second game). So for Christmas I asked my mom to get it for me. As soon as I got I turned it on to play and IT ROCKED THE HOUSE!! It was so funny!! The levels were awsome and you get to use juju majic to kick bad guy BUTT! (Pardon my french!) You meet funny juju dudes to help you through the game!! Also you earn new juju majic. Examples: Juju thunderbolts, Juju kick (in slow motion I might add), Juju animal morphing (that one rocks!) and many, many more!! So as my conclusion:

Graphics 9/10
Storyline 10/10
Controls 10/10
Overall fun 10/10
Funniness 10/10

So as you can see this game(you guessed it) ROCKS THE HOUSE!! And make sure you buy this game!! Trust me it so totally awesome. Oh, I almost forgot there is this other gameplay called Dinky Games where you can play awesome games like snowboarding, catapult racing, a frog derby, and tons of others. Plus to top it off Dinky Games is Two player!!

Trust me and buy this game!! (I am so sorry but I have to say it one more time!!) TAK 2 ROCKS THE HOUSE!!

Tak 2 Is one of the best games I ever played!!

P.S. LORD OF THE RINGS ROCKS!!

Lord of the rings Freak signing off :) (sup')

3-0 out of 5 stars Only In Dreams
Most gamers overlooked Tak and the Power of Juju, a decent game lost in an overcrowded sea of action platformers starring wisecracking title heroes. This time around, Tak has made his way to the Xbox with sharper visuals and refined gameplay, and he's out to save the Pupanunu people once again.

Playing as Tak, you start off in a dream world in which you're taught the basic controls you'll need to platform jumping, baddie stomping, and puzzle solving. As you progress, the story shifts in and out of the dream world, where Tak must battle his evil nemesis from the first game, Tlaloc, who holds the mysterious Staff of Dreams. One of the strong points of Tak 2 is the combat, which is both deep and fast paced, making for some challenging boss fights.Levels are filled with mini-puzzles that revolve primarily around making clever use of the creatures in the area.Nature is your friend!

The voice acting in Tak 2 is surprisingly good, and it's filled with a good dose of humor for its kids-oriented approach.Visually, Tak 2 also does a nice job with colorful environments and some wacky character designs. If all this kiddie joy isn't enough, you can also play more than 20 mini-games - some of which are actually fun - with a friend. While Tak 2 won't score points for innovation, it delivers enough humor to satisfy your platforming desires.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWSOME
This game is awsome and i am glad that they are starting to make kid games for the X Box.my dad got the x box but mom wont let me buy the games for the x box. This game is so much fun.I cant find number 1 for the x box.i like this game because you go throgh taks dreams and nigtmares.the puzzles are fun and not too easy.i like the cuts in this game, they are great.the game is so much fun you get to meet new people in this one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for Hours
I am 11 and I first played this game at a friend's house, and could not stop.I heard that it was not being made anymore.I found it used and new on amazon.it arrived two days later.it is fun for everyone in my family, me, my little sister, my mom, and my dad.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Wrath of Cortex could be better
I am a big Crash fan but this game wasn't what I expected for a next-gen sequel to the other PlayStation games. The graphics are pretty bad for an Xbox or GameCube game, and the levels are just a little bigger. It doesn't compete with other games anymore because it has stayed very much the same from the others, which were made in the '90s, even if this hasnew vehicles and bosses (There is also another unlockable move, which is tip-toeing, I used it once the entire game, and I didn't even need it).Speaking of boss battles, they were frustrating, but still quite fun.So to Crash fans, you will like how this game is more challenging than the other games, but will feel as if you've experienced the game before in its predecessors. However, Traveller's Tales did good in keeping it like the other games even if that became the thing I didn't like about it.It's got a good price, but I think it's only worth a rent to beat it, unless you are a "real" Crash fan and want to get 100% completion. If you're not a Crash fan, don't even bother with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars best platformer on xbox
XBOX has a lot of great games but lots of platformers are crap on xbox. lets face it thee trys lately have been awful. blinx the timesweeper whiplash zapper all that crap. thats why crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex is the best. the graphics are stunning. better than the ps2 version. basically the goal in cb woc is to go trough hublevels to get crystals. if you already played a crash bandicoot game you know the drill. there will also be timed relic challenges. and you will have to collect every box in a level to obtain a gem. once you collect every item in the game you can open up a new superworld that will give you another stage of levels. you can tell by the level layout that the developers were really using a lot of creativity. the boss battles are a nice addition. and another way cb woc towers over your mediocre platformer is the difficulty. crash has gotten signifigantly harder. remember how hard the original crash bandicoot was. well this game is even harder than that. so the difficulty is a nice change of pace for the levels. you get new veichles in the game too. a titansuit- you get acess to this veichle in- droid void crate balls of fire and cortex vortex. you also can use a jeep. youll get acess to this veichle in- jungle rumble and smokey and the bandicoot. youll also get acess to a submarine you can use it in- h20 and coral canyon. youll also get a copter pack you can use that in-farehinheit frenzy. you also get a scooter you can use that in- tsunami avalanche. you get a crash glider you use that in- tornado alley that sinking feeling crashstroids 4th boss level. and latly you a spherical moonball which you can use in- bammboozled eskimo roll medevil madness. also cb woc has shorter load times alot shorter load times than the ps2 version. overall with so many horrible platform games on the market. you should buy or at least rent this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars wow
are you ready for crash bandicoots best adventure yet. if you answered yes you have to buy this game. it has wonderful eyedazziling graphics huge gameplay advancements and increased difficulty level. there are 30 much larger and much harder to explore worlds plenty of scenery and some of the best boss rounds in a game. crash gets to his disposal 8 new veichles. a spherical rollerball a submarine a firefly plane a jet glider a copter pack a sleek moter scooter and an enormus titan mech suit. all of these veichles are awesome theyre generally used to get out of a level. theres tons of secrets to be unlocked an a new hub world addition. you canget to it after collecting everything in all the levels. crash looks sounds and plays better than ever. if you ask me this is the best platform game on xbox. just think of what is a better mascot blinx the timesweeper or crash bandicoot. crash bandicoots sold millions of copies on psone and now hes proving himself on xbox. forget all the other lame platformers and get crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex.

5-0 out of 5 stars if you have an xbox and like platformers its a no brainer
this is a fun game. it has wonderful graphics hard bosses lots of crystal clear envirorements lots of veichles to drive. and captures the oozing sense of crash bandicoot. if you have an xbox and like platformers crash bandicoot woc is a no brainer. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It's about Ty-me!
Introduction:

Stardate: September 15, 2004. Ah yes. All settled in for what is going to be the best platformer of the year... "Sly 2" of course. No, not "Ty 2", that isn't out yet! I'm simply dazzled by Sly's presentation. It's fun sense of adventure. The humor. Oh, then there's a little thing called... the gameplay. Not as impressed... but wait all the reviews say THIS IS the bees knees. I beat it and while I think it has elements that are fun, the gameplay just doesn't make any sort of impression and ultimately had NO replay value, a very bad combination. Too much sneaking. Too little platforming. I then cross off Ty 2 from my lil holiday list. Why? Well, if Sly 2 isn't all I hoped, what are the chances that Krome, the creator of Ty 1 can come through? I was thrilled with Sly 1, so if 2 was a bit of a let down, maybe it's time to re-think things. Better safe than disappointed...

Then how the hell?

Well, I got a Freedom Pass. I got it before anything 'new' came out so by the time a new wave of games hit I wanted to try out, I was exhausted trying out last years garbage... and some of this years (SEE: ASTRO BOY). Anyway, Ty 2 came in but they couldn't find the Xbox version, so I tried the PS2 version. It had some shoddy frame issues and honestly the game looked fairly limp. Ah, but they got in the Xbox version the next day. So having put a couple hours into the game, and liking it behind the mighty, err, not so mighty PS2, I got a full wiff of the Xbox version. BAM!

How's it look?

Well, the colors are crisp. The character models are still needlessly 'lite' but the environments are a staggering array of lush grasses and nice shimmering water fronts. The game never faulters and while the PS2 driving sequences seemed quite slow the Xbox version moves faster and looks more crisp, a nice pair. Each 'Rang' Ty carries around gives off it's own lil effect, which isn't different from part one but is certainly something most reviews never brush upon. Got the Ice Rang out...? Ok, lil snow flakes come off of it. To me, it is and will always be the little things:) Ty's animations are quit good, much like part One. His swimming animations are what really set this concept of the little things off... get out of the water and like any good Tasmanian Tiger, Ty hurridly shakes off excessive water. Nice touch again, Krome.

But how does it PLAY?

Funny you should ask. Cuz while this game might lag behind Sly 2 in terms of pizzaz, it is above par on what counts... playing the game! Call me some sort of simple simpleton, but I love to bust open crates! I really do:) No idea why, but the amount of crates in this game that contain the opals used to purchase upgrades is commendable. The game format is thus that the player can walk around in the city or even go into the Outback in the back of a truck. Going from point A to B is aided by a map but is often touchy and a tad confusing, but doesn't spoil the experience. The game offers many rangs as upgrades and many items to collect, just what the doctor ordered. The control is a bit loose but never really seemed to demand perfection so I'd say it definately is above average. If you too were put off by Sly's 'auto jump' feature which has the player generally never in peril, you will be glad to know it is YOU the player that determines where you jump... nice huh? Sounds like a great idea to me.

What's that sound?

This is the one area that is very important to me and Ty doesn't disappoint in the least. Nice catchy Outbackish tunes, nice thick Aussie accents, nice Ka-booming boomerangs, and in surround to boot. The humor in the dialogue is a welcome treat but again, is a bit 'lite'. Even the many vehicles in the game have unique sounds, in particular I love the reverse sound of Shazza's truck... and those grinding gears:)

Conclusion:

Well, I didn't dabble in the story at all, platformers do not seem to need them and since it is so far between cinemas the player typically plays these for the sense of adventure. I must not conclude this review without noting the Cart feature! Yep, tucked away in this is a racing game. It's a fun diversion but sadly it doesn't stand much on its own since if you select the Cart feature there really isn't much in terms of 'goals'. At least none I could see. Race around a track 3 times, rinse, repeat. I suppose in a multi player format it may be fun, but I never met a platform fan yet that loves multi player games. Could just be me but I'd rather play alone. The Cart racing is handled very well, and is by itself better than many games on the market. I love the very wide open nature of Ty 2 but at the same time it had a sense of itself, it never let's the player travel too far astray but it definately has an 'at your own pace' pace. I would like to conclude this review thanking Krome for a great game, and at $20, a great price. Factoring those two elements together I concluded it deserved a great score. G' day!

I didn't think I could alter my 'very' scientific formula, but I did! (Warning do not try this at home:) Ty > Sly, Jak > Tak, Sphinx > Blinx, VeXx > Gex...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game...better than TAK, almost as good as Crash B. ...
*TORK - XBOX*
I remember seeing ads and short videos for Tork on the official XBOX website a year or so ago. I was bummed when I found out it was being put on a shelf with the possibility of never being released. Thankfully, I was thrilled when I found out it was going to be released and even more so now after playing it. The levels are colorful with tons of eye-candy. The creatures are interesting, but usually simple drones to have a short duel against. The surroundings are fresh and interesting with a "never a dull moment" scrolling motion. The levels are sometimes easy and sometimes very challenging. I get to play the more challenging levels and my kids play the others. My kids love it when I play because the game is so good looking, they forget I'm playing and get captivated by the brilliant colors and non-stop action. They love watching it...seriously...they beg me to play! Okay, you got me, so I like the game too! But they really do like to watch me play the more challenging levels...really, really.
There's no slow-down and everything seems to be very well done. My only complaint is it can get awfully hard at times (and I'm a serious veteran video gamer, all the way back to the original Atari pong). Fortunately, there are plenty of checkpoints and if you lose all your lives you can start over at you last checkpoint with 5 more lives. There are very slight camera issues when you try to back-track. During a back-track effort Tork is so low on the screen it's sometimes hard to see a cliff or enemy and your next step could be very damaging or fatal. You just have to be careful and go slow. You'll get used to it but it can get annoying if you back-track too much.
Tork is a little more fun than TAK because it's more aggressive and there seems to be tons of non-stop action. Also, the levels take you to the next step or objective of the game. So you're not left wondering what to do next. It seemed in TAK we constantly was searching for the next level or objective and at times it became frustrating. In fact, so frustrating my kids lost interest in it relatively quick.
Tork's not quite as free-roaming as TAK, but more so than CRASH BANDICOOT. In fact, it reminds me of CRASH in many ways. There's plenty of colorful and creative levels, challenging bosses and you get to break lots of stuff for points and collect things for power-ups.
I would say it's not quite as good as the more recent Crash Bandicoot:Wrath of Cortex(it's real close though) but it looks and feels better than the first couple of Crash Bandicoots. If Tork does well it just might start a life of its own like CRASH did. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This is cute and fun and worth the legacy.
IN FINAL: Fantastic game for all ages, especially for the kids(and Dads who like to join in with the kids now and then). Colorful with lots of eye-candy and very creative levels. Well done.
A MUST FOR ANY PLATFORMER FAN.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
I had lots of fun playing this game too, but I haven't seen the final version yet.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun playing Tork !
If you like platformers like crash bandiccot, you'll love playing Tork. Gameplay is about transforming into three powerfull creatures (I like the Yeti! he has great shockwave attacks, a huge special power, and a nice fur:)
The graphics are amazing and I like the fact that the environments are full of life (try the "grevious gulch" or "Ice" levels first!)
The gameplay is simple and fun, controls are tight, camera smooth (with a limited control that can be frustrating sometimes at the beginning but happens to be good for this kind of game)
I highly recommend Tork, I give 5 stars, because it's simply one of the best platformers ever ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It takes a long time to load
I bought this game because pinball is one of the only games I can handle to play for any length of time. The game is great but it is not a multiple player game, and it takes a long time for this game to load when switching tables or players

5-0 out of 5 stars This is great pinball
This game is one of the better pinball games. It has a variety of tables and the graphics are some of the best on the X-box.They have to be seen to be believed.I highly recommend anyone with a love of pinball check out this game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent Pinball for the Casual Player
The average person ( if not pinball purists and fanatics ) will enjoy this title just fine. The graphics are detailed, colorful, and nicely rendered. The physics work well and the sound effects are pretty good. You will have to finagle the angle and the view a bit to get a good look at the table. Overall, the price is right ( wasn't Pacman for the 2600 about $10 more when first released ? ) and will take up good amount of your time.

p.s. The girls on the box ( as far as I can tell ) have little or nothing to do with the game and only serve to make the buyer look somewhat lecherous. The original pre-release box was better.

3-0 out of 5 stars Limited entertainment value
I love pinball-- the real thing, but this game doesn't come close to simulating the fun of playing on a real machine. I have Pinball for SNES, which is actually better. The camera angle on Pure Pinball for Xbox makes it harder to follow the details of what's happening, even when you disable the top glass and its reflection. The sound effects make some of the various tables (Runaway Train, World War, and Hyperspace) more fun, but I still became bored with it within an hour. Not worth the money. If you really love pinball, save your quarters and find a real machine.Or else save your dollars and BUY one. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Carmen: The Platformer
Carmen Sandiego for the Xbox is based on the classic pc game, but it doesn't feel like the classic game. It barely resembles the old game. Gone are the globe trotting and searching for clues to find criminals. Now it plays like a 3D platformer with stealth elements. You are armed with a pole and a blow gun. The pole can be used to activate switches, or even weapon against robots. The pole can help you jump across long gaps. Since the robots can only be destroyed from behind, you must sneak up to them from behind then wack them with your pole; this is where the stealth element becomes apparent. The whole game looks cartoony and colorful, This is a non-violent stealth game for kids. It is kinda fun, but it makes me miss the classic Carmen Sandiego games because it had the fun trivia and required you to use your brain. Something which is missing in this game.

Pros:
+good graphics
+very cartoony
+good animation
+lots of speach
+good voice-acting
+good level designs
+good camera angles

Cons:
-ugly jungle music
-too kiddy like
-enemies are stupid
-puzzle solving sucks
-fun trivia is gone
-straight platformer
-miss the old Carmen games
-kid's stealth game?

1-0 out of 5 stars Buy NASCAR HEAT: Dirt to Daytona instead
Don't buy Thunder. It's not a bad game, just that you can better spend your money on NASCAR HEAT: Dirt to Daytona.Thunder only offers stock car racing whereas Heat offers *4* games in 1: Dirt/Go-Kart(modifieds)/Truck/and Stock Car and therefore Heat offers a lot more variety and fun!Buy NASCAR HEAT: Dirt to Daytona instead.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
nascar thunder is a great game.If you get a wheel for this game, then when you make turns your car will not go all over the place.I like the challenges and trying to break a record on each track or become a legend. What I think they should have done to nascar thunder is to let you make your own custom track. Also this game could of had a bit better graphics. What I like to do is turn off the yellow flag for season or career so that I can turn around on the track and go the other way and hit the cars straight on.Its a lot of fun.Overall, this game is the greatest.I recommend this game to anybody that loves nascar because this is the best nascar game that you will find.

5-0 out of 5 stars NASCAR done right!
I played last years version and was pleased with the progress it was making. This year its 2002 version times 10!

Pros: 1. NASCAR is better than ever!

2. last years tweaks are fixed

3. an improvement in graphics

4. outstanding career mode

5. so many modes, that it will keep you busy for months!

6. the ability to import songs is available

Cons: 1. physics take some time to get used to

2. first years of career mode are frustrating due to crapiness of car and crew

Final Verdict: A definite buy! as i said earlier, it will keep you busy for months

5-0 out of 5 stars EA Sports finally gets it right!
This game is a great response to Nascar Heat. They include challenges, driving tests, and unlockables along with the stunning graphics to create what is probably the best Nascar game out there.
The realism is great, and I also appreciated that you can plug in your own soundtrack! If you love Nascar racing, this is a definite must buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best racing games ever
This game is a blast to play and is one of the best racing games ever made.I am a huge racing fan (World Rally, F1 and CART) and even though I am not particularly fond of NASCAR I thoroughly enjoy playing this game. The graphics are amazing, the AI is very intelligent (heck I'm still trying to win races in veteran mode) the sound is ok but the game more than makes up for it with the attention to detail that it gives and will satisfy any hardcore NASCAR fan.For example, before every race there are driver introductions and the national anthem which you can of course bypass.Having them both really adds to the atmosphere of being at the race. The pitstops are pretty fun to watch during the race as well. And of course the game allows you to do the celebratory doughnuts everytime you win a race. The game also includes a victory celbration in winners circle.I particularly like the night races because for some reason the graphics just look better. If you are looking for a realistic, fun packed game that will keep you entertained for hours on end then you won't be disappointed with this one. ...
