4-0 out of 5 stars The best FS till date!
I've had MSFS2004 for the last 3 months and there's not a single day that I haven't played it. Its just that absorbing! Some reasons for this are much improved GPS navigation, more interactive ATC and ofcourse, the new airplanes.

But I'm not a huge fan of classic aircraft, and I fly my favourite plane, the 737, all the time and it is an absolute joy to fly it on MSFS2004 with the new GPS system. Its accurate to the T for precision landings. The detail paid to accuracy is mindblowing, specially runways and airport layouts. I live in a relatively smaller city of India and I was stunned to find that the airport layout is almost exactly the same as the real one here!

I do face some problems with the game, mainly with screen resolution which flickers when I have the game on high or ultra-high display settings. Also, external scenery transition isn't smooth with high display settings. Microsoft could also have done a better job with the aircraft paint jobs - the orange scheme of Soar Airlines is disgusting.

PROS:

- New additions like GPS and interactive ATC are excellent
- Airports are accurately detailed (there are almost 25,000 of them!)
- Good value for money

CONS:

- Doesn't work smoothly with high display settings. Images are not crisp
- Cockpit graphics are substandard

TIPS:

- If you're looking for some real challenge alongwith great scenery, try flying the ILS approaches into Princess Juliana Airport in St. Maarten, Madeira in Portugal, Male in the Maldives and Osaka Kansai Airport in Japan (built on an artificial island)
- Try flying the polar route and check out the Northern Lights at night! Eg: Taipei-Anchorage, Moscow-New York etc.

Also, I have a question which I hope readers can help me with. I'm unable to turn the aircraft left or right while on pushback. I've tried using the numbers 1 and 2 key as mentioned in the handbook, but it doesn't work. Can somebody help me with this? I would really appreciate the help.

Enjoy this game!

4-0 out of 5 stars Item Good Seller NOT
I don't have a problem with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. As expected it's good. The store that is selling this particular item is the problem!

I've seen where many customers have had good experiences when they get what they ordered from this company but those of us that didn't get what we ordered have had nothing but problems.

Don't believe the advertised Limited Edition Tin box. It isn't! When trying to contact customer service: The first time the gentleman on the phone was nice and said a manager would reply the next day. The manager didn't. After a week I called, waited on hold for 22 minutes, the lady on the phone argued with me that the manager did reply by e-mail, although my inbox showed nothing from this company other than the original purchase verification. When I asked if it could be re-sent she said no. When I asked to speak to a manager, she said he was in a meeting. Her overall tone was rude and not at all helpful!

When I finally received a return authorization number, I prepared the item for return and then wanted to make sure shipping would be reimbursed also. After e-mailing Gamestop 3 times, I finally got a reply and stated only the price of the item would be refunded. (Wow their e-mail actually reached me this time!)

This company has no customer service as demonstrated by the false advertising, the rude associates, the difficult customer-company communication, and the fact that when they advertised a product and didn't deliver it as advertised, they feel that they are the ones who shouldn't live up to their promises. The $29.99 price is higher than even Amazon because you think they are selling the Limited Edition. Don't be fooled, save $5 and buy somewhere else.

Bottom line: DON'T SUPPORT GAMESTOP OR PURCHASE FROM THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK! I know I'll never buy anything from them ever again!

5-0 out of 5 stars best sim so far
I OWN TWO PREVIOUS VESIONS MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 95,98 AND NOW 2004 A CENTURY OF FLIGHT.IN MY OPINION MICROSFT HAS DONE A BETTER JOB WITH THE 2004 VERSION,MORE AIRCRAFT TO FLY A REALY GREAT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ROD ,IMPROVED ATC,ONE THING THOUGH LETS HOPE THAT WHEN 2006 COMES OUT(IT'S ALL HUSH HUSH AT MICROSOFT HQ)THAT THEY WILL AT LEADT ADD NEWER AIRCRAFT MY FAVORITE BIENG THE AIRBUS A321 WHICH I FLEW TO EUROPE ON,AND THE CITATION X BY CESSNA.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Sim, But Remember the "Sim" Part!
I have been using flight simulators since MS Flight Simulator 4.0, and have more diverse experience than only Microsoft's offering to call upon. While any simulator can be made quite realistic with the latest hardware and enough money, it is important to note that Microsoft's offering is no different - you cannot, as they say, make a silk purse out of a pig's ear. This means that if you're running an underpowered system, you will not be able to run the simulation optimally.

Published system requirements:
* Pentium 450 or greater processor
* 64 MB RAM for 98/Me, 128 MB RAM for 2000/XP
* 8 MB/3-D with DirectX 7.0 or later videocard
* 1.8 GB hard drive space

My recommendation:
* P4 2.x GHz processor; the faster, the better
* 512MB RAM, with ideally 1GB under the hood
* 128MB / 256MB AGP video card that pushes TONS of pixels - the more, the better
* At least 5GB free hard drive space - You'll want to do a full install, and that comes in just under 3GB (2.88GB, I think)

I run on:
* P4 3.0GHz processor
* 1GB RAM
* Windows XP PRO (SP1)
* 256MB 8xAGP GeForce 5700 series NVidia video card
* Sidewinder joystick (soon to go, thanks to some pedals and a yoke I ordered!)
* On-board surround sound processor

The software itself is practically infinitely extendable, with software and hardware add-ons supported.A quick look around in the flightsim community will support my assertion that the software is CHEAP compared to what can be done to augment it.Add-on packages are available to augment FS2004's admitidedly weak "ground mesh" mapping - flying through Norway's waterways and coasts with the default scenery is nothing next to the real thing, and pales in comparison to some of the add-on packages (both for photo-texturing and mesh-building) out there. But of course, these things cost money (sometimes), as does building and maintaining a system that can fully take advantage of the software.

This is a SIMULATOR, remember - a dozen years ago something like this with a set of pedals and yoke would have been a BIG deal and far out of the reach of the home consumer. Now, as the bar of admission lowers, it is important to realize just how MANY numbers are being crunched every second (most of those in graphics routines), and spec a system appropriately. It might not be a multi-million dollar prospect to own any longer, but to adaquately run the simulator and get something "real" out of it, it is certainly not unheard of to run multi-head (throwing many monitors onto a machine) for a partial panoramic view - but, of course, realism comes at its price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool
This verison is better than ever and a great tool for learing to fly IFR. The dynamic weather is amazing to say the least.

For fans of the other versions this is a must have. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Stange is good
Majora's Mask is a strange game: while it is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, it is clearly a Zelda game of a very different shade.

It begins with Link slowly trudging deep in the Lost Woods, with his trusty horse, Epona, when he is attacked by a masked and mischevious Skull Kid - who steals his precious Ocarina and Epona. Worse still, the Skull Kid turns Link into a Deku form of himself, and Link finds himself in a strange Mirror - like Hyrule. Things turn even worse when Link finds the moon slowly getting bigger over the course of 3 days...

Majora's Mask features the very same Gameplay as Ocarina of Time, with a few exceptions. The entire course of the game is set within 3 days or 72 hours - and hours seem to pass like minutes, giving a player a total of just over an hour. While this may seem off-putting, it is implemented very well - people have set schedules over the course of the game, meaning you will be pottering around the Clock Town while not in dungeons, with the promise of an upgrade - or even a new mask.

Masks, as the title suggests, play an important role - some make you run faster, talk to enemies, summen foes or sooth arguements and more. There are a total of 24 masks to collect, the reward being a mask containing "The Merits of all masks". The best of the masks are the ones that allow transformation. (Let's face it, who HASN'T dreamed of swimming as a Zora or rolling as a Goron) The Zora Mask, the Goron Mask and the Deku mask. they allow you to transforminto all your favourites from Ocarina, each with the gifts of the species - Super fast swimming, Incredible strength, and, er, spitting nuts.

Majora's Mask is harder, darker and more original than Ocarina of Time - the unique aspects of the game are implemented very well but the way the game is played may be off-putting for some. Brilliant and totally original.

P.S. the start bits kinda boring.

5-0 out of 5 stars The darkest in the Zelda catalogue
If only that damn site IGN didn't take my idea first. They described this game as the Empire Strikes Back in Zelda and it's true. It's more darker, more gloomy and at times it can even be depressing. Unlike Ocarina of Time which oozed coolness and wonderment or Wind Waker which was cheery and uplifting due to its look, Majora's Mask is quite different than other installments but in no way is it bad, it's just different.

Story: I always considered this game more like an epilogue to Ocarina of Time rather than a full sequel. At the start of the game directly taking place after Ocarina, Link is in a forest and gets ambushed by Skull Kid and is turned into a Deku(they look like tiny trees with a long mouth) and enters a portal. From here Link finds himself in Termina, a land that is gonna be destroyed by a falling moon in 3 days. So it's up to Link once again to save the day using the powers of time and this weird masks.

Graphics: Reviewing this game in 2005 with such games as Metroid Prime, Halo and Metal Gear Solid 3 of course puts Majora to shame but remembering the graphics at that time, it's more of an extension of Ocarina only darker and not as vibrant. Due to maybe the Expansion Pak or just the game itself, the game does have framerate issues and some rough textures. Beware that the Gamecube re-release on the Collector's Edition sometimes freezes the game.

Gameplay: All Zelda games pretty much to this day revolved around some kind of "gimmick": in Ocarina it was time travelling, Wind Waker was controlling the wind, Minish Cap was the ability to shrink to thumbnail size and the Oracle series revolved around time travelling and season changing. Majora's Mask revolves around, yep you guessed it, masks. Link with the benefit of 24 masks(25 if you get all 24), Link can turn into different characters such as the Deku race, Goron race(big tough creatures with a taste for rocks) and the Zora race(fish people roughly). Or there's different masks like Postman, Ghost, or Bunny mask which makes him run faster.

The other aspect for the 3rd time in Zelda's history revolves around time travelling, once in Ocarina and the other in Oracle of Ages. Only this time it's different. You see the game's clock makes 3 days take about roughly 50 minutes before the moon crashes so with the Ocarina you can go back to Day 1 and start over, even make the time go slower so you have more time. This is quite annoying to say the least since your funds, arrows and bombs revert to zero if you go back to Day 1, your items are intact, your extra stuff isn't. And also you could be in the middle of a dungeon to be really close only to be on the final day and have to reset to Day 1, which incidentally cancels any progress you made in the dungeon.

Not to say the game is bad(it's just slightly hard) but it's quite enjoyable to go through, if you don't mind it's tone anyway.

4-0 out of 5 stars very very good but,not as good as 'ocarina of time'
I played the Legend of zelda ocarina of time in 1997,WHAT A YEAR THAT WAS!!!I had so much fun!then in gameinformer magazine the new preveiws page said that there was going to be a new game called 'the legend of zelda:majora's mask'it was about link going to a new land where the moon is falling and he has only 3 days to live and on the third day link has to play the song of time so that he can go back to the first day,I HAD TO HAVE IT!but then half a year later when it came out,I was very upset because when I played it,it was too easy and I beat it in almost a week!when I played'Ocarina of time'it took me almost two YEARS!but other then that it was a fun game,Very fun in fact.I really liked that you can upgrade your sword, when in 'ocarina of time'the master sword is what you see what you get!PROS TO MAJORAS MASK:There are lots of masks that you can get and they give powers(like fast running),you can upgrade your sword twice, there are new songs for link to play on his ocarina and there is a bank so link can have alot of money!CONS:you have to play 'the song of time'way to often because the moon is falling for some reason and you have only 3 days to live, finding more then half of the masks are very hard to find, the game has only four temples and they are all very hard way too short.but all in all this game is worth around $15.00,so if you like the other Zelda games try this one too!

4-0 out of 5 stars Zelda
A great game but it doesn't have the zelda magic if you want a good N64 Zelda I would get Ocarina of Time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing with a suprise in every repeat!
This is truly an impressive game!Although many say this is the worst Shigeru has ever made in a Zelda game, I love this on top of all others.Although this game is repeated because of the 3 day repeat, I found that every time i traveled back, i was able to find something new to do.What other game designer can make three days, exactly the same, have so much differentiation between them. truly a work of art. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!
I am a definite horse person. Though the game didn't focus on the horses, the whole ranch-y theme was very fun. I played the game all the way through twice. The only problem with the game is the whole barrel-racing thing. It's very hard and it took me a long time to get my horse to go fast enough. Some things (like the puzzle under the rock) are nearly impossible, but there are little cheats to get you through. I've found that all Nancy Drew games are much more easily played when using the help of a hints website. Overall a great game and a GREAT buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excelent
Ii wouldd rate thegame 5 stars becaus it was ery adventures nd interestiing. It was aalso a indapendit game

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than some
I thought this one was good but i found all of the tasks that the cook gave us took so much time and were really tedious. I really like the ending in this one (i won't tell you who does it) but my favourite one so far is "message in the haunted mansion."

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVED IT!!!!
I really enjoyed this game!!! I couldn't stop playing! The End got my heart pounding like CRAZY!! I also really enjoyed the graphics, it was like I was really there! It wasn't all mystery,it had alot of funny parts. I really recommend this game. I also learned alot like, how to pick ripe veggies, stuff about horses, and even a recipe for a cake!!! SO BUY IT ! NOW!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, Great Game!!!
This is a VERY good game. You're on a treasure hunt in the Arizona desert, which is really awesome. And the graphics are AMAZING! I love this game! If you like this game, my other suggestions are Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake and Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island! (P.S. You get to go to a ghost town, a canyon, the middle of the desert, a shop, and at the VERY end, ancient Indian cliff dwellings!) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars IDIOTS?
uh.. seriously NOBODY should listen to these reviewers. i dont understand them at all. sure its not the best game ever or anything, but 1. it looks great 2. sounds great and 3. plays great. my guess is that these dumba**es just suck at this game. if you like the ATV offroad fury games for ps2, theres absolutely no doubt at all that you'll love this game. the gameplay is no different, not harder in the least bit. and to top it off, the graphics and sound are amazing. all these low reviews are seriously not valid. im usually one to respect the opinions of others, but these people are just dead WRONG. their reviews are the only thing that is garbage here.

2-0 out of 5 stars Lowdown on ATVOFBT
You know what is wrong with people today, mainly the guys at the top giving this a 5? They shouldn't give it a 5! People give out 5's too sparingly! Hey Les, Orion, and David M., do you think this game deserves a 5? THink about the damn game when you write your review, for the sake of the people! The graphics are pretty decent for a PSP game. It's not as a PS2 game. I found this game annoying. It's difficult to stay on the track, or to even land a trick! But when you win a race, it's very satisfying and makes you want to keep going. Sound is pretty bad. DOesnt sound like a ATV. Average game. Rental at the most.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dont read the BAD reviews of the Idiot below.
This game has been a blast. I do not understand the reviews below that are negative. The tracks are challenging, and short or long enough to keep your attention.

Online gameplay is alot of fun.Definately go out an buy this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Are these People Reviewing the Correct Game???
I'm having an absolute blast playing this game. It's quite addicitive and all around a great game. I think most of the negative reviews of this game are false. I myself almost didnt by this game based on these reviews but I am sure glad I didnt listen to them. The gameplay is solid, the ATV controls are challenging but very realistic. I love how you can slide into turns and adjust the pitch of the atv in the air, kind of like the real thing. There are tons of tracks to choose from ranging from Superscroos style, National, enduro, and stunt style. You can even purchase additional tracks with credits earned for winning races. There are tons of ATV's you can purchase as well, each with their own performance characteristics. You can customize your uniform, helments, etc. You can tweak your bike's shocks, tires, pipes, etc... I mean this game has it all. There are different modes to race too, like a chapionship mode that is kind of like a career mode. It is in this mode where after winning you earn points which unlock new tracks and events. As far as the graphics are concerned I think they are great. The ATV's themselves are not the nicest I've seen but they more than serve the purpose. The AI racers are also very challenging to beat, the game is not that easy. Anyone who is a fan of supercross or ATV's or enjoyed playing Motocross madness will absolutely love this game. You can pull off a lot of cool stunts and some serious air!! This game is a winner....decide for yourself on this one...don't listen to the bogus reviews.

***UPDATE*** in response to "A Gamer's" review....
First of all I gave the game an overall of 4 stars..but since then I think it now deserves a 5 after continued play. This game is so much fun it didn't take me much time to think about what review to give it...it's an absolute blast to play ..once again I'll will 100% endorse this game to anyone who comes my way..DO NOT listen to these negative reviewers...This guy complains he can't stay on the track or perform any tricks and finds it "annoying" PLEEEASSEE...just because you have your own "personal" issues with the game don't rate it based on your incompetence in playing it...yes it does take practice to get good and is not easy but thats what makes this game challenging and fun...try upgrading tires or suspension to get better control of your ATV...certain tires perform better on certain types of tracks...pay attention to the tire ratings...Also, I strongly disagree with this game being a rental..its replay value is excellent...I find myself playing it against others online quite frequently...don't hesitate to buy this game..you can thank me later.

4-0 out of 5 stars What are these people talking about?
This game is a long awaited relief to the otherwise boring lineup for the PSP. It feels just as good as it's previous versions but It's handheld! Good buy. Don't read the other reviews, I almost passed on this game due to those false reviews, don't be as foolish. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Puzzler for Nintendo DS!
This is the best puzzler for the DS! :)

It's a simple, yet a fun game! :)

I give this game 5/5!

5-0 out of 5 stars sweet
it is so fun. it makes you smarter really. it has 100 chalenging puzzles that you will be trying to figure out until your 50 years old. best puzzle game ever go to www.polarium.com

5-0 out of 5 stars Just...can't...stop...PLAYING!!!!! (A multi-category review)
Puzzle games are supposed to be the most addictive games around, but this is ridiculous. On a full DS charge, I usually start playing this game and don't stop until the unit shuts itself out. Then I plug it in, think about it for a bit, then keep playing the unit while it's charging! Heck, my Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman DS copies are probably going to be sitting for a long time before I start playing either of them again.
I am giving up time playing Polarium right now to write this Multi-Category review, but despite the time shortage, I'll add on another category to my preexisting seven: a new Multiplayer category, because that area deserves special mention.
Read this review and start flipping the tiles.

PLOTLINE: Guide a weird golden geometric figure around a playing field full of black and white tiles to form a line around them, then tap the last tile in the line to flip all the tiles you drew over, hopefully forming solid-color horizontal rows that vanish and give you points. there are three main gameplay modes, and they are the fast-paced Challenge mode, the brain-twisting Puzzle mode, and the frantic fun of Versus mode. The game overall: simple, but challenging. RATING: 10

GRAPHICS: Like most puzzle games, this one clearly says, "Graphics, schmaphics." The great gameplay covers up this fact completely. Plus, with almost no colors other than black, gray, and white, this game is easy to see in almost any lighting situation. A vast contrast from the color-rich Rayman DS, in which the only place you can play it in is a closed closet. RATING: 8.5

SOUND: The sound effects are cool, and so is the background music. The music doesn't distract you in Puzzle mode, making it easier to clear out the more difficult situations. RATING: 9

CONTROL: I was a bit wary when the game's manual said it was completely stylus-driven (no buttons will work other than the obvious Power button), but a few minutes of gameplay demonstates that buttons would actually hinder this game. There are two ways to draw lines, and you can choose between sliding the stylus across the screen (drawing) or clicking each corner on the line in order. There are a few skeptics who may look at this game and say that the D-Pad could be another control option, but it's obvious that that would be a nightmare in something fast like Challenge or Versus. RATING: 10

MULTIPLAYER: If the game's single-player modes sparkle like a gem, then the multiplayer shines brighter than the sun. Versus mode is multicard play, so unlike Super Mario 64 DS, you can join with another Polarium player and start playing almost immediately. You can also create your own custom puzzles and trade them with other users who own the game. Got a friend who doesn't have the game? Then you can have them turn on their Download Play and send them a Polarium demo. The demo contains the full Tutorial, 10 puzzles, and the Versus mode option. The best part? You can then turn off your DS, leaving them to play their Polarium demo as long as their DS is on. Truly, Polarium's multiplayer is far superior to Super Mario 64 DS's. RATING: 10

GLITCHES: None. RATING: 10

ENTERTAINMENT: The puzzle game I've ever- I repeat, ever - played. RATING: 10

REPLAY VALUE: You can always get a higher score on Challenge, beat someone at Versus, or create or solve another puzzle. The Replay is practically infinite. RATING: 9.5

OVERALL RATING: 9.6

A FINAL WORD: Polarium is not only one of the best puzzle games ever, but it's also one of the best games on the DS. Get a copy today!

5-0 out of 5 stars Black and white isn't always bad
This is a terrfic puzzle game. You use the stylus to create vertical and horizontal lines of one color. There are 100 puzzles to solve. All of which are fun. There is also a tetris-like game.As blocks fall make lines to clear as many as you can.For people who have visual-spacial problems (like myself) this game will probably be harder for you.Although by playing this you might get better about it.I strongly reccomend this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Challenging and Fun
Finally, a decent game for the Nintendo DS. If you own a DS, you know one of the biggest problems with the system is the lack of available games. There are few to begin with, and of those available, several are disappointing. They have difficult control schemes, seem rushed to market, or just really don't have much lasting appeal. Polarium is a puzzle game, but it is a very good puzzle game. This is probably the best game of this type I've seen since Tetris. At first, it seems overly simple, but it soon becomes apparent how potentially challenging the game is. With three types of single person play, Polarium provides great game play variety with both a fast-paced challenge mode and a more leisurely puzzle mode. The game also allows you to create and save your own puzzles in puzzle mode. You can send these puzzles to other players with the wireless function of the DS, and there is also a wireless multi-player mode, but I have not tried either. Polarium has a lot of potential challenge and long-term playability, and makes great use of the touch screen features of the Nintendo DS. This isdefinitely a game that will extend the shelf life of your DS. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Star Trek: Bridge Commander puts you in the captain's chair ofyour very own Galaxy-class starship. Many games have made this claim, but thistime, seriously, you're in the chair. Look to your left, and there's yournavigator. Look over your shoulder, and there's your science officer. Instead offlying your titanic starship like an X-wing fighter, you direct the movement ofyour Federation vessel through commands to your capable crew. Some may questionwhy sitting in a space-age La-Z-Boy is such a big deal, but these poor folksjust don't realize that La-Z-Boy can move at warp factor 10.

The default view has you in the big chair. Everything is '80s-era beige, confirming that this is indeed the Next Generation. In front of you is thefamous view screen. Your engineer, science officer, first officer, tacticalofficer, and navigator/communications officer are where you'd expect to findthem. As events unfold, you can click on these officers and an orders menu opensup. This way you can quickly order your com officer to hail that ship, or thescience officer to scan a nearby target. During combat you can order yourtactical officer to target certain enemy subsystems (like the warp drive), oryou can take control and do your own targeting and firing if you want. Yourengineer can be ordered to prioritize repairs or boost power to the weapons. This lets you play like a real captain in that you're hearing reports, givingorders, and taking as much personal control as you like. You can even take awalk about the ship with the keyboard in the optional (and breathtaking)third-person view.

It's very clever how all this works and thankfully the artificial intelligenceis more than up to the task. The story here is very deep and very StarTrek, and so are the music, sound effects, and voice acting. Patrick Stewartand Brent Spiner (Captain Picard and Commander Data, respectively) are even onhand to give advice during two different points in the story. The missions arevery linear and you can only save between them, but there are plenty ofbranching points that let you handle things your way. Though the main plotdoesn't encourage a replay once you finish it, you can extend your enjoyment ofthe game through full multiplayer options and a handy Instant Action simulatorthat lets you set up any battle you like.

The graphics are stunning, except when it comes to the people. The stiffcharacter graphics look like something out of 1997's Jedi Knight, ratherthan real people, and the lip-synching is awful. But you won't be watchingpeople talk nearly as much as you'll be watching Klingon vessels trading puncheswith massive Romulan warbirds, as the Cardassians and Ferengi skulk nearby andyour crew looks to you for your orders. Never has an episode of Trek cometo life quite this well. If you winced when Riker piloted the Enterprisewith that pop-up Thrustmaster joystick in Star Trek: Insurrection, youlove the smell of spark-spewing bridge consoles in the morning, and you've everwanted to listen to a crewman's so-crazy-it-just-might-work suggestion and reply"Make it so," then this game is for you. --Bob Andrews

Pros:

  • Perfectly re-creates Star Trek adventure and combat
  • Unique control system works perfectly
Cons:
  • Bad lip-synching
  • Can only save between missions

5-0 out of 5 stars STAR TREK: STARFLEET COMMAND 3
Star Trek Starfleet Command 3.Could there ever be a better game? After you play this game, you will answer that question the smae way I did.No.In SFC3, you can play as Federation, Klingon, Romulan, and Borg. From the sleek Soverign class vessel (U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-E) to the massive Borg Cube.Fire a variety of weapons, including Quantum Torpedoes, Phasers, Disruptors, and Gavemetiric Torpedoes.Beam you troops over on hit-and-run raids to disable enemy systems, or to attempt the impossible: take over the entire vessel.
Create fleets of up to five vessels, and gang up on small vessels.Invade enemy territory in missions ranging from Planetary Scan, Assulting defensless stardocks, or taking a suicidal run on an enemy starbase.
Launch Probes, cloak, use an anti-cloaking scan, launch specialized shuttles, an perform eratic manuvers.Manage your sheilds to prevent enemy boarding parties from completeing their mission.Name your ship, and create ships from the shows like the U.S.S. Defiant, and visit noted locations such as Sector 00,01 (Earth), Romulus, Remus, The Borg Homeworld, and the legendary home of th klingons, Q'ronos.
Engage in 4 epic campagins, icluding for all major star empires, The United Federation of Planets, The Kligon DefenseFleet,The Romulan Star Empire, and the Borg Collective.Or, you can just ignore polotics, and go on to conquer the galaxy.
Anyway, you can count on SFC3 being the best STAR TREK game ever.It is not worth the $90.00 it's being sold for, though, so buy it at a computer game store.Good Luck Conquering the galaxy. You can e-mail me if you have any questions about the game at comderbashir@yahoo.comJolan Tru

2-0 out of 5 stars Star Trek Bridge Commander.
I've been playing Star Trek Bridge Commander for a while now after I purchased the game just a few years ago. The computer graphics are great if you like to take the Captain's Chair. This game requires some stragety and it's often difficult to play. I have to play this game a number of times before I can get through the next level. But if you are a extremely better gamer and love Star Trek this game is for you. If not don't buy this game if you are not satisified.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner Game!
I bought this game for my 7 year old when she got her 1st Gameboy System and she loves it! I would not reccomend this for any child who is a long term player but this is an absolutely perfect game for the kids to start to recognize the buttons and get used to the system itself!

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun Runs Out Quickly
This is NOT a long-term game. The levels (depsite being "easy", "medium" or "hard") are either riduculously simple or painfully difficult. For any child over 5 or 6, it will loose it's appeal VERY quickly.

The only long-term fun is to see how many tickets can be collected, but the rewards for collecting tickets (the water slide) is probably the most boring game on it.As a mom, I can say that this was not a game I would have bought if we had tested it first.

4-0 out of 5 stars OK, NOW WHERE'S THE FUN?
Well it's ok for like the first 15 minutes but then it's like where did the fun go. I'm 11 and I thought it might be fun but after I played it I realized it wasn't too fun. It's ok for like 4-8 year olds. So if you're buying for someone in that age group, Good Job. They will probally like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Polly gameboy
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter who loves Polly. This game is very good because it requires very little reading and has Easy, Medium and Hard levels to choose from. She can play it without my assistance which makes it wonderful for parents and she "loves it." It is also pretty fun for parents. This was the first game we ever played on a gameboy so we are definately beginners so hopefully long time players will like it as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars I made a huge mistake by putting it on my wishlist
I'm 13 and I have to admit i absolutely love polly pocket. I put this game on my christmas wishlist and recieved it. The mini games are cute and fun but i beat the game in 35 minutes. This game is great but definately for a younger age group of 3-7! Don't make the same mistake I did unless ur buying this for a younger girl. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others.

For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. In English: the GameCube is optimized to push speed up while pushing costs down; hence its position at the lower end of the price spectrum.

The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin, anyone?). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates.

Of course, the main advantage of the GameCube is that it's the home field of one of the world's premier game designers: Nintendo. While powerhouses Electronic Arts and Sega make games for all systems (including this one), you can play Nintendo games only on a Nintendo system. And Nintendo, you might recall, has been hitting them out of the park since it started with Donkey Kong. In fact, here's a roll call of characters and series you won't find on the other consoles: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Kirby, and, of course, Pokémon. A few names that the GameCube will share with the other guys: Madden, Tony Hawk, Sonic, Batman, and Star Wars.

The system also comes with four built-in controller ports, so you can easily plug in extra controllers and let friends join in for the multiplayer games--it's even got a built-in handle so you can easily move it to a friend's house. It comes with two memory card slots for saving your progress through games, and there's the capacity for future expansion into the world of online gaming.

In short, the GameCube isn't an all-in-one entertainment system, and neither is it the most powerful of the modern video game consoles. But for video game enthusiasts who want to stick with their favorite characters, its value cannot be beat. --Porter B. Hall

5-0 out of 5 stars You are right and wrong 1 star folks
Okay,I agree with you, this system is sort of childish. But the what you call "childish games" are suppose to be fun for adults. Let me give you some examples.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: My mom loves this game!

Super Monkey Ball: Fun for all ages (and adults)

There's millions and millions of examples, too much.

Now that I've told you why you are wrong, let me tell why you are right. Okay,I goota admit, there is didly squat of rated M games, and Rated T games are like rated E. Overall, this system is great. I'd reccomend it. If you have have some extra cashola, buy the best system of the year,DS. Make sure to get SM64 DS as well.

P.S X-Box and PS2 sulks,I like Play Station better then the newies.

5-0 out of 5 stars the affordable gamecube
Today I finally purchased a gamecube from a local retailer on sale for just 97$ w/ a free game, Metroid Prime 2(50$ game currently). I figured I then only paid 47$ for the system itself adding in the bundle. (I really wanted the metroid 2 echoes game too) I chose the metallic "platinum" color over the ugly plain jane black one. For me nintendo has far too many kiddie games and just a couple I'd be interested in, but my wife and kid like all the kiddie stuff and I already own an XBOX & PS2 that have more games for the teen/adult gamer. The 3 systems will entertain our family until the hype ends over the upcoming "next-gen" systems (Revolution, 360, & PS3)and they have price drops into 100-150$ each and have 20$ games available as well. If you get a gamecube I'd suggest adding the 1019 memory card for it(30$) and also an S-Video cable from monster cable. I really like the compact size of the gamecube, but I don't really care for the akward styling of it's controller very much, the N64's controller was pretty weird too w/ it's "3rd leg". It's also nice to see nintendo finally using discs instead of old-school cartridges. I was considering a Nintendo DS, but I couldn't justify spending more for a portable system w/ less powerful graphics than a highly rated home console like the gamecube. Maybe the DS will have a price drop down to what the advantage costs now(80$). The PSP is way too overpriced for me to even consider it and it's weak battery life and fragile LCD are major drawbacks to me. Anyways I'm happy w/ my decision, the gamecube is a quality system and you can get a system and games cheap now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best system
This is the best system currently out. It has all the classics and is more fun than the other systems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended.
Any fan of the Nintendo 64 needs this console to add more depth and knowlegde to their already large collection of games. I highly recommended a Gamecube for any fan. And soon the Gamecube Revolution will be released making another ultimate console due out in the future.

1-0 out of 5 stars listen up, fanboys...
all you nintendo fanboys are cramping up the xbox reviews. thats our turf! :p but anyway, you say "oh, the crapbox (wow thats clever) is so bad, all the games are just rippoffs, and they're all for pc, and the controller is huge, and this and that and whatever" well, gamecube stinks even worse. i mean, what games do you have for it? animal crossing? pokemon staduim? please. what's that? there are 'mature' games for it? resident evil series, thats it. name ONE 1st party nintendo game that's rated M. you can't. conker doesnt count, he's from rare. or perfect dark, thats rare too. and rare went over to microsoft anyway when they saw how bad gamecube was doing. even the system itself looks like a Playschool product. who makes a purple console? and to the one who said 'xbox players are losers and loners with no friends', that's gamecube's territory. i'm not gonna call the guys over to play a heart-pounding game of butterfly catching on animal crossing. oh, and nintendo STILL HASN'T GONE ONLINE. xbox live is the greatest online gaming service around. and the xbox controller has gotten progressively smaller as time has gone by. and 3rd parties make controllers that are even smaller than gamecube's. so lets see, if i want Billy Hatcher's Giant Egg i'll get gamecube. if i want GTA AND Halo 2 AND just about every other game you could want, i'll get xbox. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Is it faster than the original Xbox?
I have taken an objective look at the performance of my "regular" Xbox and my brother's Xbox Halo Edition and I have to say, "ABSOLUTELY".I don't know what it is about this green box, but there is something going on inside the system.Everything I do on his system is a little bit faster; just enough to say to myself what the heck is going on here.If someone KNOWS why the green machine is a touch faster than regular Xboxes let me know!!!I'm seriously considering getting the Limited Edition BLUE Xbox Halo 2 edition in Canada!

5-0 out of 5 stars A green xbox
The now used/new price is way too expensive.Great system and game though. Please don't spend so much money on a package that can be purchased for a $170.And remember, Xbox 2 may be backwards compatible.

5-0 out of 5 stars comparison
I am writinga comparison with all three systems. Playstation 2 is not great system in contrast with xbox and gamecube. Xbox is bettter than playstation 2 in the controller department. Anyone using the playstation 2 controller is asking for arthritis. Having cheap buttons where triggers are supposed to be the xbox has supreme quality. Having 6 action buttons right at your disposal with your thumb. The analog sticks are much better also. Ps2 sticks feel like a piece a styrofoam carved at shoved in the slot. Talk about cheap. Sony is just in it for the money. Not to mention automatic game saves to the HD and the optional chance to buy a memory card kicks sony's ass in the convinience department. In the library department ps2 may be for you if you likevast choice. But Xbox does have way more quality games than ps2. Quality>Quantity. You will have much more choices in quality games such as KOTOR, Halo 2, Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Mechassault 1&2, Crimson skies, and much much more. In the durability department xbox takes the lead again. It seems as though ps2 is going to fall apart especially when it makes that loud, rattling noise when it is under heavy loading sequences. and anyone says the ps2 is more portable than xbox than they need to get off their lazy ass and go to the gym. Ps2 is not that much smaller than xbox. Actually, Xbox is more portable since it can actually take a good beating, hazards that will probably happen if you drop your ps2. In summary, you probably can tell which is better Xbox>ps2. It's that simple. Really.

In comparison to the gamecube, gamecube blows ps2 away. Perhaps even more if depending on what kind of gamer you are.
Compared the gamecube it fails in almost every department. Gamecube has unique features that make it way better than the playstation. Ex. gamecube has a unique controller much better than ps2. But it is not great for complex game such as splinter cell(the L trigger has four functions)but can be perfect for games such as metroid prime. But the gamecube controller get pretty uncomfortable for those bigger hands. But gamecube has way more quality games then ps2. My perfect example is metroid prime.

In conclusion, you know what to buy. I hope you make the best choice for yourself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get them while you can!
To all the potental xbox buyers out their this system will not let you down. You get the green xbox and a copy of the original halo. How cool is that. To all of you who havent played halo it is a very addicting game for all age levels. And you might as well go ahead and order a copy of halo2 now that it is avilable because you will want it! Go ahead and buy the limited edition green "halo" xbox. It is one of the most covented thing's that a halo fan or a xbox fan could want. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but a lot of work
I just recently got this game in preperation for B&W 2.When I first started playing it, I absolutely loved it and would have easily given it 5 stars. After playing it for a while, I got annoyed and overwhelmed at the micro management and would have reviewed it probably at about 2 stars. But now after getting used to it and 30 plus hours of play, I think 4 is right.

The game starts out with a very helpful tutorial that shows you the basic controls, how to cast spells, and taking care of the people. You later pick the creature you want and it helps you in training him and taking care of him also. After you get through that, you then go to a town where you will need to start your own civilization. This is where you may get frustrated because your people always need food, homes, children, andbuildings.A smart thing to do is build plenty farms before bulding homes or children no matter how much they complain because eventually there will not be enough food in the few farms to supply the villige store (where the food and wood is stocked) so you will be constantly hovering over the store supplying food (very annoying). With the Deluxe version of B&W, it comes with several patches that fixes a ton of problems. One major issue that it will fix is that your wirshippers will not eat like horses any more so you will get to pay less attention to them.Install these before playing the game because it comes in as a HUGE help.

There are 2 things that kept me from giving this game 5 stars even after disliking it so much at first.
One is that it crashes every few times I play.Sometimes it will go for hours on end without a jitter but sometimes it will crash twice within 5 minutes.I am running it on a Windows 98 PC with 512MB RAM and an old NVIDIA Video card. The game is from 2001 so it does OK.I also installed it on my newer Dell PC that has 1.5 Gigs of RAM, Windows XP,and the newest ATI graphics card.I started an evil god on it and it has not crashed once. Some are saying that the game does not run on XP, but it does fine with me.
The second thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is the part of the game I am on now.I'm not going to say much to keep from ruining the game for some of you but this level of the game is really ticking me off.Every time I get a few buildings built they get burned!!!I dont have enough villigers to give me enough prayer power to constantly cast shield miracles because my people are getting stolen!!!I don't know what to do.Maybe I'm doing something wrong or not doiing something I should but it is really making me mad.Earlier in the game on another level, I had just gotten a big enough population to start to convert another village ( you have a realm of influence based on the amount of people that you have in your town. You connot do anything outside that realm. Therefore, the more people you have the bigger your influence realm will be).I was performing miriacles for them when I started hearing the word "death" and my conscience guy said that we were being attacked.I went back to my villiage and there was a lightning storm stricking my town center.Every time the lighting would hit it, it would catch on fire.My villiagers would run to put it out when another lighting bolt would hit, catching everyone around it on fire. They would die so more people would run to the fire to put it out and they to would be set aflame! It finally stopped dtorming but I ended up losing about 70% of my population with my influence realm very small again. After that I went to the setup menu in the game and downloaded the realtime weather that was happening outside my own home (it was snowing) so that did not happen again. This is a cool feature to use if you want to make the weather in the game be more realistic to what you are seeing out your own window.

This game has a very steep learning curve. It has a lot of micromanagement to deal with so you will never be sitting back watching things take place.I reccommend this game to one who has a lot of time and a ton of patience. So if you decide to get the game, have fun and good luck.

4-0 out of 5 stars If you have Windows98/ME and A LOT of Ram, you need see this
I saw some people have problems running this game.If your system is Windows98/ME and you have more than 512 MB memory in stalled, you need to see this ... otherwise you will get game crashes more frequently ... not just in Black & White, but other games as well. You need to follow the workaround method as follows.

I first come across this knowledge from www.nvidia.com FAQ : Windows 98 and ME were based on the original Windows 95 kernel which was never designed for handling a lot of memory. These systems will experience various operational difficulties if more than 512MB physical memory is installed. These problems are due to how the 32-bit protected-mode cache driver (VCache) for Windows 9x/ME reserves memory. With more than 512MB memory, VCache may reserve most of the virtual addresses available. This issue does not affect Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000. Directions for correcting this problem are outlined in Microsoft's Knowledge Base article number 253912:[...]

CAUSE :
The Windows 32-bit protected-mode cache driver (Vcache) determines the maximum cache size based on the amount of RAM that is present when Windows starts, or 800MB, whichever is less. Vcache then reserves enough memory addresses to permit it to access a cache of the maximum size so that it can increase the cache to that size if needed.. These addresses are allocated in a range of virtual addresses from 0xC0000000 through 0xFFFFFFFF (virtual address occupy between 3 gigabyte and 4 gigabyte area - a space of only 1 gigabytes) known as the system arena.

On computers with large amounts of RAM, the maximum cache size can be large enough that Vcache consumes nearly all of the addresses in the system arena, leaving little virtual memory addresses available for other system process.

This problem may occur more readily with Advanced Graphics Port (AGP) video adapters because the AGP aperture is also mapped to addresses in the system arena. For example, if Vcache is using a maximum cache size of 800 MB and an AGP video adapter has a 128-MB aperture mapped, there is very little address space remaining for the other system code and data that must occupy this range of virtual addresses.

WORKAROUND :

- Add the MaxFileCache line as follows in the System.ini file to reduce the maximum cache size that Vcache uses to 512 MB (512x1024 =524288 KB. Note: The value for these settings are in kilobytes) or less :
[VCache]
MaxFileCache=524288

- Then reboot computer to have setting take effect. You should suffer FAR LESS crashes in many games. Your game can still crash, though. But it will be due to other problems - game bugs, drivers too old, etc.

5-0 out of 5 stars XP?This is how.
This game is very fun. To get it to run you should install these 2 things:Service pack 2 and Black and White patch 1.2. Also I would recomend on XP that you have 192MEGS of RAM instead of 64. Now the game: You play as a god. You quickly see a angel and monster hanging around that are your good and evil consinese. They provide some advice. Basiclly you help people or scare/kill them. You quickly choose from a creature. You can choose from a nurturing cow, a smart ape,and a strong tiger. No matter what creature you choose you will probally want to train it to be violent or peacefull. In the game you come across several sidequests. Yet later in the game you can learn miracles, which your creature can learn to. My 2 problems are: The creatures take forever to grow, and gestures(a way of casting miracles)are hard to cast.

1-0 out of 5 stars No, it really doesn't work.
I have Windows XP and no matter what I did, even following all the little helpful guides provided online and by the company, this game never ran correctly on my computer.

I've been wanting to play this game since it first came out but now after buying the original edition, this deluxe edition and the game guide, I have a bunch of useless software and paper on my hands. A total waste of money for me and probably for most XP owners too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yes it does work on xp
oh ya and yes this game does work on xp maby its somthing with your settings or something ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars oh wow...'--__--
fast playing game.but it sucks.dont buy it.spongebob movie is much better.they couldve made the last boss at least a bit difficult.thats it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mommy look, it's a SpongeBob game. It must be good...
I don't think so. I am a HUGE SpongeBob fan. My friend owns this game for Gamecube. The Gamecube version is great! You KA-RA-TE chop, bubble bowl, and rock out with SpongeBob. Using Patrick you spin around, cartwheel, and smash. That was a description of the Gamecube game. Now, I don't own a Gamecube so I got a GBA game, thinking it would be somewhat the same. I was very wrong. It is a 2d side-scroller, no KA-RA-TE chops, no cartwheel, not one single attack except for smash. You destroy enemies and bosses (very easy bosses) by jumping on their heads. Regular enemies either walk back and forth, float and throw stuff, try to hit you with a hammer, just float up and down or burp on you. Very easy enemies. Even easier bosses. Bosses have their own special combo of attacks. You avoid them(includes running at you, jumping on you, throwing stuff at you) by jumping over them, ducking,or dodging and when they pause you jump on their heads. Do this 3 times and you've beaten that boss, way too easy for gamers. You collect clams to buy so called "upgrades". All these really are are lives, buckets(explained later) and bonus levels. Buckets are buckets full of soap. When you press L SpongeBob drinks the soap and spits bubbles everywhere, destroying every enemy on the sceen. When you hold R you charge up for "hyper speed". When bubbles appear behind you let go of R and you'll run really fast destroying any rocks or enemies in your way. Press A to jump, and A again to float with Patricks pants. B isn't used. Two more things, I went through this game in one hour, and it doesn't save (you have to enter a code you get every two levels). This was a waste of $30. I hope this review helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great addition to a great game!
When I first went to my friend's house to play Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, I had lots of fun! I didn't enjoy the normal maps too much, sadly, and I wasn't really looking forward to buying the game.

Then, I went online with my free Battle.net account and downloaded a player-made map. I really loved the map, so I decided I'd save up and buy Warcraft 3. The game kept me entertained on and off. I'd play it for hours on end, then I'd stop for about 2 weeks, then go back to play it again! New maps are made almost every week, as players love to find fame. I, myself, have made a number of maps.

Anyway, when my friend got the expansion pack, I played a few Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne maps at his house. WOW! They were great! I couldn't stand having the game without the expansion! So, I got my allowance, and bought the expansion!

I recommend this to anyone who likes RTSes (real-time strategies) or even people who DISlike them, because the game could be called an "Action\Adventure Role-Playing Strategy Sports Driving Sim" or something! It's a multi-genre!

4-0 out of 5 stars good stuff
this is definatly a good expansion set, just like the regular Warcraft3 itself. if you beat the first one, i suggest you buy this. graphics improved, more gameplay, and more fun. online action is great, including 1 new hero per race. i love this game and so does everyone i know who owns it.

5-0 out of 5 stars 1 year of frozenthrone playing and im not yet tired of it
Alright people that think this game is boring and it should have a Naga race and a Drenei race is stupid. I mean it would be pretty fun, but it would take lots of balancing and stuff so...no. Humans, nighrelves, undead, and orc are enough and the game is fun enough with out those other 2 races. I mean u can still play as adrenei or naga in the single player...and even on custom games...i was playing open rpg islands and i was a naga and i was swimmin anround shootin things with the naga seaweitch. The game really isnt that hard to play when u get used to it. Heros make everythign so intense and exciting which is why when ur fighting the enemy you really should take out the hero then work on the units.

The thing that i kinda hate about warcraft frozen throne and warcraft roc is the blademaster...cheap crap. he just got cheaper in this patch i mean now he can run through my units. Im always undead...and if youve been undead race u know what im talking about. Death to that dam blademaster. BUT finaly, they just got 2 new heros in a patch a alchemist and a firelord. I am very impressed with the alchemist he can take on the bladeamster pretty well.Anyways, people been saying how starcraft is better then warcraft and im like why? they say because its too shiney. I'm like ok...period over gotta go to enxt epriod...get this game ur kids will liek it buy it!! wee!!!!!!!!!!!Sinferno rulez!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Tried and true style of game works yet again
There really isn't much original about the Warcraft 3 game, and its expansion Frozen Throne campaign. It's yet another clone of itself/StarCraft/Ages Of Empires, etc. etc. etc. where you build, upgrade, build some more, upgrade, start sending your forces out, upgrade, replenish your forces, upgrade, repel enemies that may be attacking your base(s), start wiping out major concentrations of enemies, replenish your forces and complete any upgrades not already made, and finish off all your enemies. This has been done a hundred times before, and I'm sure it's not the last strategy game which will use the same method. The hero unit in Warcraft is cool, though.

The game is really easy to start, and gently eases you into the game. The cutscene movies are incredible, the best I've ever seen in a game. It's hard to say which campaign was the best, but I'd have to say it's a toss up between the Orc and Night Elf ones.I didn't like the Undead campaign, but the summoning of buildings was kinda neat.

I did get tired of hearing "Frostmourne hungers" everytime I moved my Undead hero, though.

4-0 out of 5 stars the beast at this game beassssssssst
Warcraft is my favorite computer game. It has a lot of fun especially when you kill your allies. I'm level 100 because I play every minute of my life except for now and when I'm at school. When I play nobody messes with me. I'm the best person you could find on the game except for my brother. You should definitely buy this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun, a must for every SpongeBob fan!
I can say that again, a must for every SpongeBob fan.

With this Plug 'n Play TV Game, this thing comes with 5 games. Here is my rating on the games packed in one:

Bubble Pop - Like the classic Breakout game from Atari, with a SpongeBob twist, and lots of levels to complete. Rather than bricks it's bubbles! Wow!
Rating: 5/5

Sandy's Surf Adventure: A resemblence of Defender and it's finest, and you get to play Sandy surfing on a clam shooting out acorns at henchmen.
Rating: 4/5

Patrick and the Maze: Gauntlet calling, with Patrick as a main character in a coral maze, and finding friends along the way to try out little microgames!
Rating: 4/5

Invasion of the Hooks: This is ok, but not the best out of the collection, when you first try it you might think it's fun but if you play it again later or the next day it probably gets boring, but still allright.
Rating: 3/5

The Super Chum Bucket: A game that features Evil Plankton! On a mission to kidnap Sandy. It's up to SpongeBob to save her from the evil genius, Plankton! Reminds me of the arcade Nintendo game, Donkey Kong which debuted Mario!
Rating: 5/5

Durability is a top standard which can stand rough playing.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Plug and Play...PERIOD!
My three year old son and I went through a plug and play phase where I basically bought every available plug and play system available. Well, I can tell you that the Spongebob plug and play is by far the best of these game systems. The games are challenging but not maddening and lots of fun. There are 5 games included on this little joystick:

1. Spongebob's Bubble Pop (10/10): My personal favorite of the five games. Basically in the old Breakout/Archanoid game style but very fun and with 50 levels to complete!

2. Super Chum Bucket (9/10): This is basically Donkey Kong featuring Spongebob and Plankton...but hey, Donkey Kong is a classic and this game is just as entertaining.

3. Invasion of the Hooks: (4/10): This one is kind of lame. Sandy, Plankton and Patrick are hooked and Spongebob must save them by throwing Krabby Patties at the hooks...not much fun.

4. Sandy's Surf Adventure (7/10): This one is a fun old school style shooter in the vein of Defender but with Sandy crusing through Bikini Bottom.

5. Patrick and the Maze (7.5/10): Obviously a maze game but reminds me of Gauntlet. Patrick must unlock and find his friends...an entertaining game.

**A word about durability** - This plug and play has withstood some rough play (I also have a 16 month old) meaning slamming, banging and pulling of wires; yet it works everytime we turn it on. The batteries do need to be replaced every now and again for optimal performance.

So overall, if you or your kids love Spongebob or old school video games, this system is a must-own. Highly Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cool!
I got it for Christmas, and it ROCKS! All the games are REALLY cool, and I'm becoming a master at it! My brother, Bobby Gelhar, and my sister, Katie Gelhar, love it! I think that it is really awesome, and is REALLY REALLY COOL! I WOULD BUY IT IF I WERE YOU!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not So Bad.....But FUN
This game is a joy to watch and play. If you are a fan of Spongebob or videogames you must own this game. If you are doing colectibles and would not like to play this game you will sooner or later be finding yourself playig it in about a month. It has 5 fun 'n' challenging games. My sister got it for Chritmas and I play it most of the time! It can probably break easely. But take my advice...buy this toy!! So It's Not So Bad...But FUN. And don't forget to watch Spongebob Sqarepants on Nickeloden!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Time My Son Has With This TV Game
This is a lot fun, even I play it with my little guy. It's worth the small amount of money, certainly less money then Playstation!Worth every penny, highly recommend for everybody! An A+ ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Humiliation was never so much fun!
Got the game, connected the microphone, and was having a blast in less than 3 minutes. You pick a complex or simple song, choose plain karaoke, or get graded by the crowd or your friends.Connect to Xbox Live for more songs.Sure it'll cost you, but isn't singing "Jessie's Girl" to an adoring crowd worth it?

There is no mystery to this game, just flat out karaoke fun.The "bundle" part of Karaoke Revolution Bundle is the microphone that plugs into your joystick (just like an xbox live headset).

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!! Can't Wait for the next one!!
This is an awesome game!!! I love that you have to actually have some talent in order to play. I love how the microphone can pick up what note you are singing. (Isn't technology crazy?!?!) This game is fun for the person/people playing and for anybody who might be just watching. The characters get pretty animated and they glow when you sing really well. (It's pretty challenging to try to get your character to glow during the entire song! But trust me, it can be done!) The crowd watching your character also waves their arms and dances if you are doing a good job. If not, then the crowd leaves and your character gets pretty depressed. I hope that Konami comes out with more for XBOX!!!

Note: there is one downside to this game. You find yourself singing the same songs over and over again. (60 songs really isn't that many to choose from)

4-0 out of 5 stars Needs more songs, but you can download if online w/XBOX Live
**Update May 25th** - I've had this game for 5 months and Konami still has not offered any new song downloads with the exception of the ones that were offered when the game was released on XBOX Live. This is absurd. Why no new downloads? This changes my entire opinion of the game. With no new songs to download, this takes away any new replay value this game could have had.

Review: This game took me off guard. I expected just a simple little Karaoke game with lyrics on the screen and nothing more. I never played the ones on the PS2 and really never wanted to, but when it came out for XBOX, I figured, what the heck, I enjoy singing so I'll give it a shot. In 4 words, "what a party game!" First off, Konami did a wonderful job of replicating the actual music from the original artists. The music is nearly cloned perfectly. People with home theaters will jam to this with the 5.1 Digital. The way the crowd reacts to you really gets your adrenaline flowin, if you sing bad, you're character will get booed off stage, heck, you do bad enough, the music stops--- if you do well, they will go nuts for you. It really makes you feel like you're at a serious karaoke jam. But not only do you just sing, you're also being judged! The game judges you by tone of voice and timing. It's very picky at times and when you don't know the words by heart, prepare to have a mean crowd by your side.

The different venues like county fairs, outdoor stadiums, party palaces and local bars gives the game a very realistic feel. The characters available are comical to watch on-screen and they move their mouth with yours, downright funny. The males will get a kick out of choosing the "Britney Look Alike Girl" and doing Friends in Low Places.

Up front, the music selection is a mixed bag and I won't judge if it's good or bad because different people prefer different things. It mostly included a little country, some 80's, 90's and some recent stuff. I know it's hard to make everyone happy, but the thing to do is offer more music. And that is where XBOX Live comes in. With an XBOX Live subscription (which is already $49.99 a year) you can connect online to get new songs. Of course there is no mention of charging us in the instruction booklet, but not to my surprise, there is a $4.99 fee for each group of songs. Each group of $4.99 contains 5 songs. I'm sorry, $4.99 is a rip off, especially when we may only want it for 1 or 2 of the selections. And we're already paying Microsoft to go online for our yearly subscription. Sigh. More money out the door...

And considering we spent $59.99 for the game itself, Konami seems a bit greedy. I would have liked it more if you could buy in singles for .99cents. Seems more logical. At this time "Jan 05" the downloads are pretty weak, only about 6 groups availalbe and the stuff they do have is pretty skimpy. A few 80's songs, Jessie's Girl, more Michael Jackson, some Britney Spears, Madonna, etc. Good stuff, but we need a wider variety. Hopefully over time they will get that price down and get more for us.

As a whole, I still loved this game, I'm a karaoke fan and love to jam out, other fans will love it to. As with me, some music you're simply never going to sing, or want to. The problem, some of the modes force you to sing what it chooses to continue on to earn new characters and venues. It's annoying and if it was up to me to market this game, I would make different genres of music to sell seperately instead of putting a mix of music on one game. How about an all 70's, all 80's, all 90's and "Modern" releases so people dont' get stuck with songs they'll never use. But as a whole,it's good fun and I'm lovin' the songs I do like, and the ability to download new songs is nice, but $4.99 for 5 songs is greedy and they should let you choose them individually. Duh Konami?

4-0 out of 5 stars Karaoke Review
I found that this is a great game. Not only is it fun to play alone, but it's great for parties. You can change the levels, from easier to harder, depending on how you sing. It shows how off your pitch is, which is a great feature! I think that this is great for people who love to sing, even if you're not good at singing!

4-0 out of 5 stars an excellent party game!
Had the chance to play this with different groups at holiday parties...from ages 6 to 75...this game was a huge hit...
The limitation of having only 50 songs is the only drawback.
Hours of hilariousness were had. It brought people out of their shells...some friends who would never be expected to sing at a party took to it like fish in water.
This was the definite hit of the holidays with young, old, hip, square etc.
I just wish I could find out how to get more songs! There is no info at XBOX LIVE about promised new downloadable songs for sale. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Sly Yet!!
This is alot longer and more challenging than the first Sly. I was addicted after the first 5 minutes! In this game, Bently and Murray are actually in the game for you to play with! Stealth is more important and you actually get a chance to pick-pocket!

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Sequel
I was under the impression that "Sly Cooper and the Thevious Racoonus" failed to find a niche, since it was a bit difficult for kids, and a bit too cartoonish for older gamers.Happily, I must have been wrong - "Sly 2" is as fun as the original, with some added dimensions that add to the entertainment value of the game. The game is more "open-ended" than the original. In each level, several missions are presented - usually a couple for each of the three controllable characters - and you can choose the order in which you tackle the missions. The use of 3 characters, each with his own strengths and weaknesses, is of course new, and in general it's an improvement, although it can be more difficult to get Murray and Bentley to certain places than may be necessary. The graphics are great - if anything, they're a slight improvement over the fine look of the original.
My only complaint about the game would be the repetitive nature of some missions. At times it in necessary to do the same thing 5 or 6 times, which can make the mission rather tedious. All in all though, Sly 2 is a worthy sequel that has apppeal for gamers of all ages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sly 2, The return of Clockwerk!
Here is some tips on bosses,
Dimitri, he got the beat, he's mad! once he done with his powers
give him the old one~two
Rajan, he's ticked off! Murray, you get the high jump, you need
to not get shocked from the heart staff!
Contessa, she's twice the battles, when she falls off, take a run! and there are two battles!
Jean~Bison, you probably will get a tip before Brains vs. Brawn
did I mention DYNAMITE!!!
Arpeggio, well, Constable Neyla/Clock~la kills him so he's
replaced by Neyla and you thought wrong, Neyla is BAD!

Well those are some helpful tips, so get back on the controller
and read what I told you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sly 2 RULES!
Sly 2 just plain rocks. it completly beats the original. In Sly 2, you can not only be Sly Cooper, but you can also be Bentley and Murray (you could be Bently and Murray in the original, but you could only be Murray when racing for a treasure key and the only time you were Bently was when you hacked to shut down the toxic gas). Plus, you get MUCH more exploring space than Sly Cooper and the Thievius Racconus. One of the best things about the game is that you can steal much more stuff (you can pick gaurds' pocket's {don't worry, its hecka easy, you just have to not accidentally touch them} to score some coins and sometimes even find stuff you can sell, and even nab something really valuable from a small stand). Basiclly, this game rules and anyone who says otherwise is INSANE!!! ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

In the tradition of the multi-award-winning Star Wars: Jedi Knight, Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Outcast features rebel agent Kyle Katarn in exhilarating first-person action. Several years have passed since Kyle avenged his father's death and saved the Valley of the Jedi from Jerec and his band of Dark Jedi. Allowing his Force powers to languish for fear of falling to the dark side, Kyle entrusted his lightsaber to Luke Skywalker, vowing never to use it again. But when a new and menacing threat to the galaxy emerges, Kyle knows he must reclaim his past in order to save his future.

LucasArts is developing Jedi Outcast in partnership with Activision's critically acclaimed Raven Software. Players assume the role of Kyle as they employ a unique mix of weapons, Force powers, and the lightsaber in both single- and multiplayer modes. Jedi Outcast features expanded and enhanced use of the lightsaber, with new attack and defense moves. Tap into the powers of the Force, including jump, push, Jedi mind tricks, and more. Employ combat or stealth, depending on the situation. When a fight is necessary, be at the ready with an arsenal of weapons: stun baton, Bryar blast pistol, and blaster rifle to name but a few.

Explore breathtaking Star Wars locales such as Cloud City, the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, Nar Shaddaa, the smugglers' moon--plus some never-before-seen locations. Multiplayer options include deathmatch, saber-only deathmatch, and team capture the flag. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST STAR WARS COMBAT GAME EVER!!!
I LOVE THIS GAME TOO MUCH!!! BUT WHICH IS BETTER=OUTCAST OR ACADEMY!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Mac users can be Jedi!
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is one of the first games I bought for my Mac.Gameplay is challenging and fun!The single player storyline is entertaining and pulls you into the game and keeps you there. After a slow start with no Force Powers or light saber, you really will begin to feel like a Jedi Knight.Kyle Katarn's character is one of the best characters I've seen in any game, and could easily be a film character in a Star Wars movie. Some of the most memorable levels for me are fighting as a Jedi alongside Jedi Master Luke Skywalker against a half dozen or so Reborn Dark Jedi, fighting criminals in Nar Shadaa where you really must make use of your arsenal of cool weapons, and the two key battles against Tavion and Desann.I have other, newer games, but Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is the game I keep coming back to play.

The multiplayer matches are fairly standard Quake 3 Arena fare, with one exception, the one-on-one Lightsaber Duel. You may think you're a Jedi Knight after dispatching hundereds of storm troopers and Dark Jedi in the single player game, but the real creative battles happen in Lightsaber Duels against real people online.Just please remember to fight with honor and bow before combat.

Jedi Outcast has reasonable system requirements will play well on any modern G4 or G5 Mac.

4-0 out of 5 stars Jedi Academy
As other people have said, the plot for one-player mode is very...Well, almsot pathetic. It left me confused, it didn't explain alot. But the game is still enjoyable, the graphics are OK.

In Multi-Player, you can fight other players. You can choose what you want you charecter to look like and change it as much as you want and pick your light saber. My only complaint about Multi-player mode is everyone there is rude. Well, almost everyone. There are certain clubs and "cults" where they go around calling non-members of their club/cult "Lamers".

Overall, it's a pretty good game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lightsabers, now that's different!
I am by no means a hardcore gamer, but for any fan of shooters, this is a great one, and it gives you a chance to get away from just shooting a bunch of goons (in this case, stormtroopers).Instead you can run around with a lightsaber and hack everything up ( I did this rather gleefully). For a game as old as this one is, it looks good, I'm not sure how it compares to a game using an unmodified Quake III engine but it looks almost as good as Star Trek: Elite Force 2, which is undoubtedly the best Quake game out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still the best Star Wars game out there
To date, I've played almost all of the Star Wars games released- starting way, way back at the black & white DOS game where your primary (and only) goal is to center your crosshairs on a weaving TIE fighter and blow it up with a push of the fire button. I'm a former flight sim fanatic (not so much now, due to the sad state of the genre), a current RPG fanatic, and I absolutely detest FPS games. This is largely due to the fact I get splattered whenever I join a deathmatch, but is also because these games generally lack even a remote semblance of a storyline and characterization.

Having said that, and keeping in mind that I've also played the excellent X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X vs. TIE, X-Wing Alliance, Knights of the Old Republic, &c (I could go on for quite a while with this) one must add extra weight to the fact that I really like Jedi Outcast. And yes, I am aware that it's a shooter. So the big question, of course, is why?

First and foremost, this FPS actually has a plot and characters. Not only that, but it has GOOD plot and characters- so much so that they have actually been inducted into Star Wars canon.* This is an honor no other Star Wars game has yet been able to claim. In fact, the storyline is so good that you will hardly notice that you're not really seeing any new kinds of enemies (stormtroopers and other Imperial slime are still the general fare).

The sound and look is superbly done. Voice acting is top notch, and instead of having full motion video cutscenes with horrible dubbing (as in the first Jedi Knight) they've used the game engine to fill in the blanks. And yes, it actually looks quite good- even compared to current games. Great attention to detail is a key factor in the presentation- when you walk into a cantina, you'll hear the familiar music from the Mos Eisley Cantina in Episode IV. The locations are varied and magnificent, with some taken from the movies (e.g. Cloud City on Bespin) and others from the expanded universe (e.g. Nar Shaddaa).

Now, though I'm a lousy FPS player, I still know enough to say that the weapons are very cool. There's the standard rocket launcher, sniper rifle, close-range grease gun, and default pistol. All have very unique looks and effects, and strengths and weaknesses. Most have an alternate fire mode, which can add interesting functionality (e.g. laser tripwires on mines).

And then, of course, we have the lightsaber and the Force. I cannot overstate how cool these are, and it's impossible to really describe it here. All I can say is that you've really got to play it, and that if you get good with both, two things will happen: you won't use your guns anymore, and you'll really feel like a Jedi master.

The level design is excellent, with puzzles that make you feel smart when you figure them out, but also don't take a total genius to solve. As with the other Jedi Knight, there are secret areas that hold extra power-ups that can seriously aid in your cause. There's also many interesting objectives that require unique interaction with the environment. For example, you'll at one point have the chance to commandeer an AT-ST and run amok through the jungles of Yavin 4, blowing up stormtroopers as you go. How cool is that?

Though I don't use multiplayer mode often (yes, I like this game, but I still get wasted in deathmatches) I have seen enough of it to say that it's comparable to any other FPS out there. There's no vehicles in multiplay, but who needs those when you have the Force? You can challenge others to one-on-one saber duels, play Star Wars-imbued variants of familiar games like capture the flag, and snipe honorlessly at passing Jedi from a balcony.

Given its long, excellent campaign and flawless presentation, Jedi Outcast comes with the highest recommendation. Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, its compelling story and great arsenal of weaponswill appeal to the FPS fanatic. Jedi Outcast is also one heck of a deal now, and still looks great despite its age. Go, and may the Force be with you!

*Specifically, Kyle Katarn is universally recognized as the guy who stole the plans for the first Death Star. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't...stop....playing!
This is an awesome game. The graphics could use improvement but the gameplay is fun. I can't stop playing this game its addictive. I played for 5 hours once and I didn't even know. If you like Star Wars as much as I do then BUY THIS GAME!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not to Bad By mike
I bought this game about 1 month ago, and it is'nt that bad. The graphics could be better, but the reality of the units as far as corresponding to the movies is good. After a while, the concept gets kind of repetitive, but the difference in units depending on the side does liven it up. Also, it's cool to be able to be different sides, rather than just the good guys.(I mean, come on, who doesn't want to kick some rebel dairiair with an AT-AT?) Anyway, the graphics will leave a 2-D aftertaste in your mouth, but for big starwars fans it's definetly worth 10.00 bucks.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's Hiroshima all over again!

2-0 out of 5 stars game out in 2001-2002, still the graphics are horrible
it lags a lot in graphics. the gameplay is neither good. interesting if you want to know more about the Star Wars stories from Episodes I, II, IV, V, & VI.

i'd suggest to wait for the new RTS "Star Wars Empire at War" coming in 2005 made by the creators of "Command & Conquer Generals" (i'm not talking about publisher EA or Electronic Arts, i'm talking about the once Westwood Studios' programmers) ... Read more
