Amazon.com Review The game begins with you selecting one of the girls as your character. Each game is broken up into a two week vacation, and each day is divided into morning, daytime, and evening. You spend each segment of the day playing volleyball, gambling in the casino, shopping for swimsuits and accessories, lounging around the island, or trying to befriend the other girls on the island. I'm not sure it's fair to classify DoA:XBV as a volleyball game. Sure, you'll spend a bit of time playing volleyball, but the gameplay is so basic that there are literally only two buttons: one to pass to your teammate and another to send the ball to the opposing side of the net. It's probably more accurate to label DoA:XBV as an unusual "relationship" game, with volleyball just one of several ways to earn money to spend on gifts for girls. Each girl has a set of items that they like; the actual object of the game is to figure out what those items are, where to buy them, and how to present them to each girl. Well-wooed girls will partner up with you for volleyball matches, or allow themselves to be convinced to try on slinkier and more exotic swimwear. For example: if you want Kasumi to try on the barely-there "Venus" swimsuit, you're going to have to shower her with gifts of strawberries, balloons, and origami. What the game lacks in depth, volleyball gameplay, or features it makes up for in eye candy. The well-modeled, bouncy characters attract the most attention, but the islands beaches and jungles are also universally gorgeous--and most of the volleyball courts can be played at different times of the day. If nothing else, Xtreme Beach Volleyball is a great display of the raw graphical power of the Xbox. When considering whether or not you should purchase Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball it's important to remember what it is and what it is not. It is not a volleyball game. It is an incredibly pretty collection of small but moderately amusing mini-games played by buxom cartoon babes. Fans of Lara Croft, rejoice: the next generation is here. --Jon "Safety Monkey" Grover Pros: Reviews (146)

This is the second Tony Hawk game on the Xbox. The Xbox version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 has better graphics than the PS2 and the Gamecube. I played all three versions, but the Xbox's graphics was better, but the graphics was slightly better. The Xbox version has less slowdown than the PS2 and the Gamecube. It also has extra stuff, too. It has an Exclusive Xbox level and a secret character. Gameplay- There are nearly two dozen characters in the game. There are a lot of modes for you to play in. This game is a lot of fun. You could play two player or just one. The career mode is the heart of the game. You play in each level and you try to complete goals that must be completed to open new levels. The money thing in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is gone, but they replaced it with the five stat points. In each level, there's a new deck design. There are also three competition levels. If you played Tony Hawk 2X, the controls are about the same. The grinds and verts are the same, too. There's a meter for manuals and grinds. This game is all about the grinds and manuals I think because you need them for those Sick Scores. The Sick Scores are 500,000 points. They added a new thing to this game which is the revert. By pressing the trigger just before landing from a vert trick or an invert, you can continue the trick line. That is also useful. The levels are a lot of fun in the game. The environments are realistic. Story- This game is about skateboarding and this can be played by anyone. If you like or dislike skateboarding, this game still can be fun. There are five multiplayer modes. Trick Attack is fairly simple. You just do tricks to see who can achieve the highest score. Horse is when you take turns trying to do tricks. The first person does a trick, and the second person has to beat the score. If the person doesn't beat the score he gets a letter. Graffiti is when you trick everywhere. You can grind and do tricks on ramps and they will be your color. If your opponent does a trick on the ramp that you just did on, and he has a higher score than you, it's his ramp now. Slap! This is just like tag. You try to knock them over. King of the Hill is a race to find the crowns and become the king of the hill. Audio/Video- The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 soundtrack is awesome. The tunes are good in the game. If you get sick of the tunes of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, you can always customize your own soundtrack. I customized my soundtrack and it was cool. Tony Hawk was skating to Britney Spears. It was quite funny. The sound effects are nice. The sounds of grinds are pretty good. Pedestrians will talk as you pass by. The graphics of this game are totally awesome! This game maintains 60fps throughout most levels. There are just a few slowdowns and most of them are in the start of the levels. The Xbox version was actual smoother than the PS2 and the Gamecube. The slowdowns are greatly improved. The levels are big with great detail. The Xbox version has slightly better blood smears. Each of the characters in this game are fully animated. The environments are filled with pedestrians and cars. There is also traffic and can run you over. Birds fly, cops chasing the robbers, and some other things. Replayability- Once you beat the game, it's worth playing it over and over again with a new character or your own created character. This game will last you until Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 comes out. In this game, you will never get bored, or unless you absolutely suck at this game. You could play multiplayer which is cool, too. Buy or Rent- If you are a hardcore fan of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, then I suggest you to purchase this game. If you aren't into this game, and want to try it out, I suggest you to RENT. If you think that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X [stunk], I suggest you to rent it to see how awesome the version is.

Amazon.com Review Going beyond motion-capturing batting stances (there are 89 distinct ones in here by my count), they've done a great job of animating pretty much every aspect of the game in pitch delivery, fielding, and base-running. The instant replay system, which borrows from and improves upon the one seen in the High Heat series, allows you to move the camera anywhere on the field to see the realistic movements at any speed. You can also use the feature to see the game's sophisticated artificial intelligence--for example, there's a brief, realistic delay when a player tags up from third on an outfield fly. There's also a solid pitching game that lets a starter like Tim Hudson get off without a shelling when pitching heat down the middle, but try it with a pitcher like Byung-Hyun Kim and you're bound to see different results. And the TV-style zone chart shows which locations each batter is best at connecting to and where your sequence of pitches has landed. A number of the new features are so obvious that you may wonder why you've never seen them before. One is a controller map in the pause menu that quickly shows you exactly which buttons perform the task you want. An option is also included that sets the relative speed of pitches to the plate. This really comes in handy when coming from another baseball game like All-Star Baseball 2003 where pitches seem to blur to the plate. To put it bluntly, the game has almost no downside. There are some very powerful GM and manager functions--including a fantasy draft and exhaustive franchise tools--though using them is somewhat counterintuitive. Stealing is kind of tough to pull off; in one game, Ichiro got caught twice out of three attempts. And, as stated above, there's no Internet play--but that gives us something to look forward to for next year. --Porter B. Hall Pros: Cons: Reviews (53)
I think diehard baseball fans would have less of a problem with that stuff.I had absolutely zero problems with any of those things on the All Star mode.I didn't have a problem hitting too many home runs.I didn't hit more than 45 with any player on my roster, and some everyday players didn't hit 15 for the year. Now, my batting cursor was on small, so maybe that did it, but I don't know what to tell you there. My problems revolved around the number of absolute BLOCKBUSTER trades that went down and the lack of a jump button.First off, you just really need to be able to jump.Secondly, Giambi was traded FOUR TIMES in my game . . . WITHIN THIRTY DAYS.That's just plain laughable.Sosa was traded three times within 60 days.Clean those two things up, and I think you've got one heck of a game. ... Read more | |

I had only rented it, but during my play NBA LIve 2003 was one of the greatest games I've played. You don't get tired of this one. Amazon.com Review Like NFL 2K3, NBA 2K3 is presented in the patented ESPN style. The game has all the sights and sounds of the NBA: the pomp and circumstance of pregame introductions, accurate arena recreations, realistic player animations and sizes, and fluid dribbling and shooting (including crossover moves and the ability to change shot direction in midair). All of this is accentuated with special touches such as alley-oops, tipped shots, the ability to make passes on the fly, fierce rebounding battles under the basket, and the added drama and excitement of the ball bouncing off the rim before it either falls in or goes awry. NBA 2K3 offers a host of moves and modes on either side of the ball with 25 offensive and 10 defensive plays from which to choose. Throw in fully customizable strategy options--everything from player clutch factor to computer shot tendencies, not to mention all types of shot percentages and fouls--and it's easy to create the ideal match up and game environment. The limitless roster manager feature also ensures that league and franchise modes won't get stale. Street mode offers a break from the grind of NBA play, allowing you to go two-on-two or all the way up to five-on-five in nine playgrounds and gyms. Pick your favorite players from current teams or choose greats from the '50s through the '80s and go at it as the Ballers vs. the Ringers. Street even features requisite trash talk such as "Yeah! You like that?" and grunts backed with "Get some!" --Larry White Pros: Note: This review refers to the PlayStation2 version of this game. Reviews (29)
This game is also a really cool multi-player game. On my XBox I play with my brothers and you can play 4-players. This game is very comprehensize and there are a plethora of options. You can pick any team in the NBA, and play any way you want. You can make up your own players and play streetball. You can play a practice game or practice free throws (which are kind of hard, you need to press both triggers). You can turn off all the rules like backcourt violations and 3-second violations. The graphics in this game are excellent. The use of lighting effects is really nice, and the game movements are very lifelike. This game definitely shows off the power of the Xbox graphics engine. Overall this is a great basketball game for Xbox. It's a very good choice compared to the other basketball games for Xbox.
Some valid complaints: the passing game isn't 100% solid. Many times players will stop once the ball is passed to them, standing still until the ball gets there. This is infuriating when you're trying to orchestrate a fast break. Also, the computer's point guard does a bevy of moves to always get by me.Seriously, I think each game the guy I'm guarding throws up 20-30 points, 90% of them in crazy layups. Sometimes you foul a guy and it looks like it was a foul on the groud, but they give the guy free throws. That is, the refs in this game are very loose on their definition of "in the act of shooting."You might foul a guy and then he takes two big steps and does a layup and they count the shot.I guess that's a lot like the NBA, though, huh?:-) If you are a true basketball fan, this game is worth picking up.There are some cons to the game, but nothing major. Also, you can tweak settings (like how often the computer tries to drive vs. shoot jumpers) to help mitigate what are perceived as unfair computer advantages. Also, XBox Live support is present, which is killer.

Introduction: Obviously, it's a college football game. EA's NCAA Football's only rival. All 117 Div 1a schools, 25 bowls, the BCS (named Sega Championship Series), tournaments, exhibitions, practice, XBox Live enhanced, everything you need for a College Football game experience is here. Gameplay: 8/10 This is an area I was expecting more of. The gameplay flows worse than the Dreamcast version, much like the graphics. It's not bad, though. One thing I'm glad they improved on is the running defense AI. My two main problems with it before were, you could run the same play over and over and they'd almost never stop it. Another problem was that even though you could do that, you could almost NEVER break runs longer than 30 yards, not even on the easiest game. I realize this could be a ''personal'' problem, but when you can't even do it with Nebraska on a team like Baylor, something is wrong. Now, if you get the right blocks and get outside, you can actually break a really long run. Also improved upon are cuts, you can actually cut while running now and not be tackled right away. By now, everyone should be used to what modes you have available. Legacy is what you get this game for. Build your team through shrewd recruiting, picking when to redshirt a top-notch Freshman, cutting the slack to have room for recruits who you aren't sure about, decisions like that will make you #1 or could make you bowlless. One thing lacking from the game is being able to edit your schedule. It could be used as a cheat, however, with the BCS (or Sega Championship Series in this game), making a weak schedule wouldn't necessarily help you. Might get you a BCS game, but not the championship game. Other than legacy mode, you have your standard exhibition mode, season mode, tournament mode and practice, where you can, obviously, practice. There's also the Sega Challenge, which lets you try and get records, and when you get them, you get a code to enter at SegaSports.com and you can win prizes and such. Graphics: 8/10 Not bad, but I actually think they're a little worse than the 2k2 Dreamcast version. At least, the in-game graphics. The players just don't seem to be as good nor do they flow as well. The graphics overall are much better looking. The intros are nice. I must admit, I expected a little more considering the XBox's power, but nothing that takes away from the game. If you count replays as part of graphics, it might up it to a 9. I know replays don't exactly ''enhance'' the gameplay or anything, per se, but they're really nice and the multiple angles, including a reverse which shows it one way, reverses it, then goes forward in another angle. The interaction with the announcers and telestrators is reallyt great too. Since Sega has teamed up with ESPN, all the graphics are ESPN authentic as well, which is a really nice touch, better than the generic graphics Sega has been using. Sound: 8/10 The announcers are pretty good about not being too repetitive. They interact with the play on the field very well. Most teams fight songs are there, however, depending on your sound settings, it's hard to hear them sometimes. The sound effects are pretty good, though some taunting would've been really nice. Not a whole lot more to say about the sound. Replayability: 10/10 Obviously there is no reason to ever stop playing this game. Withover 117 teams, you could do a legacy with all of them, even if you just simmed the whole legacy, it would take forever. Changing recruiting styles and play styles is also a good way to keep playing. Ever though of changing Nebraska into a pocket passing team? You can try doing it right away with Jammal Lord or wait and recruit a passing QB. Things like that will keep you playing for months.

Bottom line: this game stinks!
Take control of T-Mac and his game and lead the Magic to the NBA title! This game contains all the players and teams, but it has the most important feature of them all, the edit player feature!! For example, if Troy Hudson, who wears number 11, was traded to the Pacers, he cannot wear the same number, because Jamaal Tinsley has 11. Other games would simply ignore that fact, and both players would suit up with the same number, which is so unrealistic! You can't have two players wearing the same number! NBA 2 Night's awesome EDIT PLAYER feature allows you to edit the number yourself, that way T-Hud can wear 11 and you can change Tinsley's to an odd number like 46 or something. Another thing would be hairstyles and headbands. If a team, like the lame duck Hornets, decides to sport headbands for their playoff run, you can modify each player so that they can have headbands! No patches or cracks required for those! Same thing with hairstyles, if a team decides to shave their heads for the postseason, you can do the same thing in NBA 2 NIGHT! Simply modify the player so they can have a shaved head! If Mike Miller decides to have corn rows, then edit Mike's hairstyle and give him the 'rows!! Now that's awesome, no other game has this!! After you win a championship with the Magic, you can take control of the other teams in the league, along with superstar players like Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Chris Webber, Gary Payton, and others! This game also has the grizzled vets like Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, and his Airness, plus brash rookies like Brendan Haywood, Zeljko Rebraca, and Tyson Chandler!

Amazon.com Review Thanks to its smarter-than-your-average artificial intelligence, NFL 2K3 sports a somewhat steep learning curve that requires sound football simulation instincts. Knowing your team's strengths and weaknesses will ultimately be of benefit if you hope to win at the game's advanced levels. Be prepared to mix up your play calling and make adjustments, instead of thinking the same old reliable plays will get the job done. Of course, practice mode is always there if you need to work the kinks out of your game plan and master the multitude of offensive and defensive sets at your disposal. Graphically, sports games don't come much better looking than NFL 2K3. Among the highlights: player animations are amazingly realistic and lifelike, and a wide array of facial emotions appear that are relative to game scenarios. Stadiums are painstakingly recreated to take on an almost postcard feel, and replays access a wide variety of angles that put you right on the field or in the stands. One area in which NFL 2K3 easily aces the Madden games is with its game commentary. As part of the game's ESPN broadcast presentation, announcers Dan Stevens and Peter O'Keefe call every bit of the action in varied detail. The pair is far removed from tired and stale Maddenisms, offering worthwhile play breakdowns, player assessments, and quips that actually don't make you wince (at least not too often). Stevens and O'Keefe, not to mention the crowd, will let you hear about it when you bite it on the field. --Larry White Pros Cons This review refers to the PlayStation2 version of this game. 1. No Franchise mode, I mean come on!Franchise is everything, and is what killed this game.No franchise = No real fun.I probably would have gotten it if this hadn't been the case. 2. The overall gameply.According to everyone it's to easy, the annoucers are horrible, the players look stiff. And is it just me, or is the stadium really dark?So much more could have been done.Better gameplay, graphics, and overall depth is how this game failed. What I did like about this game was the passing and shooting style. The passes were cool and easy, and the shots looked awsome.Unfortunantly, everything is dark, the rims dont look like rims, and the gameplay is easy to beat.Trust me, I've played this game. Overall, this game just didn't live up to what it could have been. But Microsoft already fixed the problem with the 2003 edition. The game has a ton of dunks, fluid player animations, and a whopping 25 season franchise mode.Sure, it's 60% more to pay, but it's either that, or this.Go for the new and improved 2003 edition.Either that, or go for NBA Live 2002 or NBA 2K2.Thx!

Graphic fortunately, this is an aspect of MLS Extratime 2002 that wasn't royally [messed] up. Although the player models aren't as good as EA's FIFA, MLS's face models are much more superior. The players really look very similar to the real life counterparts. The animation of the character is done pretty well and the stadium environments are better the EA's FIFA. The Compute AI stinks in this game. I'm beating the computer defenders like they were drugged up before the game. Also it's so easy to score on the computer goalie. Just do the same move over and over again, cut in out and shoot, works every time. Pretty soon I was crushing the computer 10 to 0. I swear there's more scoring in this game than there is in hockey, which is not realistic. The game feels very arcade like because of this. MLS Extra time may be presented like a real ESPN TV soccer match but in no way does it accurately depicts what goes on in a real soccer game. This is a great game if you don't care for realism in your soccer game.
Good news - if you're a big MLS fan - it has all the stadiums and players. But, I like my international play, and hate EA's FIFA series. What am I to do?

Example: I Was driving a fully tuned ,1228 HORSEPOWER, I LOST BY ONE SECOND ( which is like one minute in circuit racing ) the suba-ricer finished in 8.5 seconds which shaters the real life record set by a 1227 hp skyline GTR from sweeden by like .3 seconds Anyway its a crapy game that i recommend only to those who enjoy drooling over superb grapics for hours and hours on end and thats the end of my review peace out,L33T
