4-0 out of 5 stars Evolution 2 rocks
this game rules with all the different places to drive and all the different trucks to drive. This game also has great graphics.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the reasons I bought an Xbox
I Loved 4x4 Evo, so naturally i wanted to try version 2.Finally had an opportunity to purchase an xbox and well this game is darn cheap at costco so what the heck.
The game hasn't changed too much from the first version. Now teams are available which is a nice toucha nd the cars and track list is increased.
The same gripe I had about the first game still applies though. When you purchase an upgrade the computer automatically gets it.If you are winning races and thus earning money, shouldn't the computer have to do the same?Essentially, the rule of thumb is only mod your truck to things you need to be a bit more competative, but not to make a monster truck. Once you have everything you'd want in a truck, the computer is sure to beat you.
Where this game really shines is in two player mode.Computer can't cheat this way, and its just you and a buddy beating up a couple of trucks.Lets face it, its pretty fun to beat up your own SUV and not have to worry about repair bills.
The fully open courses also make the game very fun.In free drive mode, you can practice the courses, and plan for the short cuts which are mandatory if you want to win some races.
Definitely worth the price I bought it for...

5-0 out of 5 stars cars or trucks?
4x4eveo2 is ok if you like trucks and racing. You can coustomize your car. The tracks are fun with shortcuts everywhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars 4X4 EVO 2
This game is bye far 1 of the best driving games out there with over 30 diferandt trakes and 40 differant trucks witch u can pute new parts on it and can see the differance. there are also the race tucks u an buy. overal this game is an eazy to understad and use altho i do wish they could have ford in there too.

2-0 out of 5 stars AI opponents are invinsible - even after 100K of mods!
O.K. Godgames and Rockstar games did a few things right in this game - but ultimately they failed to produce a playable game. The load times are very lengthy. The menu is needlessly cluttered. In career mode there are 5 AI oppoenent vehicles. It is COMPLETELY impossible to out-accelerate the top car/truck regardless of mods - so the only way to get 1st-place is a lot of luck followed by a straightaway on the last lap - forget skills. For some reason it is TOTALLY impossible to nudge an AI oppoenent out of your way - forget everything you know about physics - going 110 mph and slam into an AI car - you lose he's fine - AI car going 40 and hits you - you are in the ditch my friend. Oh and lets talk about the shoulder of these race tracks! You can and will get STUCK on every little thing. Most games don't make you reverse from behind obstacles - they just penalize your speed - not this game. Trust me - this game deserve awards for its ability to cause needless aggravasion - shame on the Quality Assurance at Godgames and Rockstar games - this would have NEVER gotten by me! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Any new gaming console needs to offer a quality fighting game at launch, and for the Xbox that title is Tecmo's Dead or Alive 3. ThoughDOA3 doesn't revolutionize the fighting genre, it does offer a greatgaming experience, and its graphics easily surpass every other fighting game onthe market--on any system.

DOA3 offers eight modes of play, including story, team battle, tagbattle, and sparring. Sparring mode is customizable and is a nice way for newplayers to learn how to play the game, while story mode lets you take one of the16 available characters through a series of matches culminating in a fightagainst the über-powerful Omega. Once you defeat Omega, a short moviespecific to your character is unlocked. The story mode doesn't make a lot ofsense (and the dialogue is laughable) but the end movies are pretty cool, andit's fun playing through the game as each of the characters.

The real meat of the game, though, is its combat, and DOA3 delivers inspades. Each character has specific attacks, such as Zack's Devil Elbow or BassArmstrong's Stun Gun Chop, and once you get the moves down, the entire affaircan unfold like a carefully choreographed ballet as combatants block blows, counterattack, and land devastating punch and kick combos. Adding to the game'sappeal are the massive and detailed multilevel arenas (introduced inDOA2), in which a precise kick or punch can send a combatant plummetingthrough the air down to the arena's next level.

It's obvious that DOA3 was designed as a showcase for the Xbox'sgraphical prowess, and it shows--the game's graphics are awesome. The charactermodels look amazing and feature highly detailed clothing and accessories, andthe animations are extremely smooth. The environments are also outstanding, andfeature tons of little touches such as fluttering leaves, snow-covered groundthat can be torn up during the course of a fight, and great-looking water. Eventhe background structures are highly detailed.

DOA3 doesn't rewrite the rules of the fighting genre, but its greatgraphics and intense fighting--especially in multiplayer mode--make for anenjoyable gaming experience. --William Harms

Pros:

  • Brilliant graphics
  • Lots of gameplay modes
  • Multileveled arenas keep the fighting exciting
Cons:
  • Story mode makes no sense
  • Few unlockable extras

  • The tremendous detail in the environments are all the more impressive when you consider just how massive they really are.
  • Striking character models, powered up from previous incarnations.
  • The single most gratuitous use of processing power is in the form of a female fighter in a Karate gear.

1-0 out of 5 stars like watching a porno film

I mean really half naked woman and very sexy clothes. It's a video game for god sake. I really don't like it and if you like porn go ahead.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Really Fun Game, Terrific Graphics
I'm not a huge video game fan, but I happen to have an X-Box and my friend had this game. I played it a few times with two player and I got beat everytime. I couldn't figure out if it was because I suck or if it was because he was better. Well, I beat the game with all the characters in less than a week. The game has a large number of different modes, including Story Mode, Time Mode, Team mode where you make a team and then fight a bunch of other people. Story mode is a lot different from other story modes I have done in games. You pick a character out of the 20 or so characters and then fight a bunch of people until you reach Omega and unlock a movie. You have to do this with all the characters to unlock the movies. This is a really nice touch. This game is addicting and maddening as well. I threw the controller across the room. The graphics are terrific, the movies you unlock look like a real movie and it is just spectacular to watch. A-

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest fighting games in history
This game is awesome, the graphics are incredible and clean
I just have this game for 2 months and I still don't get bored of it and the fighting styles is something to be proud of, but I still like more soul calibur 2

4-0 out of 5 stars Lets get it on
I've owned Dead or Alive 3 ever since it hit the markets awhile back. This game is fairly entertaining but too simple for a guy like me. I enjoy tough games that take awhile to beat, but this game is easy. You choose your character and go through and fight the same evil guys over and over, until you get to the last evil guy (which is like a fire guy or the devil) then you kill him and you have beaten the game with that character. Very repeatative and starts to get boring. I have beaten the game with all the characters on hard mode. There are some positive things as well. The movies you obtain after beating the game are awesome. The gameplay is smooth and can be very fun at times. You get a movie for every character and I also have to say the graphics or outstanding.

5-0 out of 5 stars The revolution in fighting games
I have owned this game for about 2 years now so I have played it a lot, and for good reason. This my second favorite fighting next to tekken(tekken is very close to my heart because it was the first fighting game I ever played on the PS1) So this game is great if your are a hardcore fighting fan! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars DA BOMB RACING GAME
This game is a great game if u wanna chalenging, hard to beat racing game. This game has awesome graphics and its not so easy to beat it took me about 30 MINUTES to beat one of the races. Although, sometimes you may get frustrated when you race, and sometimes you're in 1st and then someone comes and knocks you out-or spins you out-you end up in 5th.

Good Things-
Awesome Cars (Stock cars in speed and power, Modified cars in speed and power, Pro cars in speed and power, and Unlimitied cars in speed and power)
NOT easy to beat
good graphics
ALOT of races
A GOOD GAME
Good music, and sound
once beaten still really fun to play
really good with multiplayer
free roam is fun

Bad things-
Frustrating at some points
when selecting things have to push the button awfully hard
easy to win once in front of everyone kind of alot

so overall, A PRETTY GOOD GAME RIGHT(...)

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun if you like arcade style racing.
I'm a big fan of arcade style racing, and Test Drive:Off Road took it to the next level.(If you prefer more "realistic" racing where you buy parts & make money see my review on 4x4 Evo2 instead.)

Test Drive delivers the one thing I have wanted from a racing game for years, the ability to choose your own way through a course, AND still win.In '98 Microsoft came out with Motocross Madness, where you rode dirtbikes and did tricks for points, but when you were in racing mode, if you left the track, you didn't stand a chance of winning.

Test Drive is different. There are tracks that you can use, and finish, and win on.But you can choose to go off road and win also. You choose your vehicle based on what you want to do.There are power vehicles and speed vehicles. The speed vehicles do well on the relatively flat dirt tracks that lead to the finish, while the power vehicles that have lower top speeds do better leaving the beaten (longer) path and taking the shortcut over the top of the mountain.

That said, there is still a downside:There are a relatively limited number of races, so if you are like me and tend to finish games quickly then this one won't take you long.It can also be frustrating, because when you play in the hardest mode, the other vehicles will attempt to bump you and make you spin out. That is really annoying when you managed to stay in first place through an entire race, and then get spun out 10 seconds before you hit the finish line and you end up in 5th place.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great multiplayer fun.
Let's start out by saying that I never bought this game for a realistic four wheeling adventure.Anyone who wants to claim that any of the 4x4 games out there are realistic has never broken an axle Jeeping down a mountainside. If you want authentic outdoor experiences, leave your living room. However if its a cold and rainy day and you have some friends over tryout the multiplayer "King of the hill" mode. This is the one reason I love this game so much.As for the graphics, well they arent great but getting pumped up by the music and knocking your friends around makes up for it. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Life's too short to spend it going in circles.
"NASCAR Heat" gives you the chance to feel what it's like to be your favorite NASCAR driver. That is...you feel everything except the thrill and danger of the actual experience. That pretty much leaves you with the tedious experience of driving around an oval racetrack for an obscene number of laps.Yay!

It was a nice try on Atari's part to include a full racing field. The attempt at realism ultimately doesn't work out though because that many cars causes a slowdown in the framerate. The controls are flighty enough as it is but the stuttering in the framerate makes it a chore to keep your car on its intended path.

The only remotely fun element of "NASCAR Heat" is trying to causebig pile-ups.If you agree, then you probably have already played "Burnout 2" and that blows this game away.Perhaps NASCAR fanatics enjoy racing around and around and around for 100 or 200 or even 500(!!) laps.Maybe there's fun to be had to repeat that task on a total of 19 tracks.Personally, I found this game to be lacking in excitement and I consider it to be both a waste of time and money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heat Better Than Thunder!
When I first popped"Nascar Heat" into my X-Box I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. The graphics don't look as impressive as they do with "Nascar Thunder". But as I started to play they game I realized there was no comparison. The race cars have a better feel about them.If you play in the Hardcore mode, (No driver aids) the way I always do, you quickly realize this game is tough too beat. It's harder to win than any other racing game I have.(That's saying a lot.)Both "Thunder" and "Heat have problems with their two road racing courses, way too much slow down."Heat" is almost impossible to drive on the two road courses with the driving aids turned off.But on the short Nascar ovals "Heat" has it all over "Thunder".The one funny thing about "Heat" is that there is no way to speed up the process when a yellow comes out.You have to wait for the pits to open, (Just like the real Nascar) and then you have to wait several laps before going back to green. My advice, get up and stretch and have a cup and coffee, and be ready to go back to green. Can't wait for this game to get updated.Nowget out there and buy a racing wheel and pedals, and you'll never go back to hand controllers again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, But Not Exciting
-Chad Steingraber-
-Paradigm/Infogrames-
-Level Designer/Game Designer/3D Artist on The Terminator: Dawn of Fate-

I must admit, this is the first NASCAR game I've ever played...so, I can't compare it to another NASCAR game.I thought is was pretty cool, it had really good graphics and the driving physics were pretty realistic.I found myself trying to create car wrecks as much as possible...it was just fun to watch a 10 car pile up.I played an entire season and took first place....and this is why I quit playing feeling dissapointed:There was nothing to award the player for taking first place!NOTHING!At least, AT LEAST a floating gold cup spinning around with "You Win!" at the bottom.Come on guys, that was just plain dumb.

It was a fun game, but I found that after playing one season (with no reward) there was no reason to play it again. If you love NASCAR, this game would be good....if you just want to see cool cars driving around, rent it first.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun!
I'm not really a Nascar fan but I do love racing games. This one is a hoot! Here's the deal:I bought Nascar Thunder but I also own Nascar Heat because my girlfriend bought it the same day as a surprise to me.So here I was with two Nascar games and I've kept them both.As far as true racing and competition, Nascar Thunder is the better racing game.It has a create-a-car option and most of the real Nascar drivers. The graphics aren't as good as Heat though. If you're into better graphics and bigger, fiery crashes, Nascar Heat is the way to go.Sometimes I create havoc on the track just to watch the replays of the crashes. You can create a lot more mayhem on Heat than Thunder...and that's why I love it.The only problem with Heat is they don't have all the drivers.Half the cars in a race are just fake, generic cars.I play both a lot, but if I could only pick one - I'd give a slight edge to Nascar Heat. But you really can't go wrong with either one. Both are great games that you can pick up anytime for a few minutes (or hours) of fun.If you love great wrecks, get Heat.Great racing, get Thunder.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good things, bad things
I have Nascar Heat and Nascar Thunder. On the good side, Nascar heat is more of a simulation, meaning the driving is a bit more realistic and if you know a little about Nascar racing, you can adjust your car in about every way possible. In Thunder, you can only adjust tire pressure, spoiler angle, and gear ratios. In this game, you can adjust individual tire pressure, spring rates, wedge...the more technical stuff. The "in-car" view is better in Heat because you can look left and right, which I'm pretty sure you can't do in Thunder, which to me makes it unplayable.I think Heat sounds more like Nascar than Thunder does. The graphics are about the same.

ON the bad side, if you have the Mad Catz steering wheel, you can't up shift using the gear selector. There are only three controller configurations, and you can't customize them.Drivers are limited to 20, and there are only 19 tracks.

So basically, Heat is more of a simulation, but you can't use a steering wheel with a manual transmission, a lot of drivers/cars are omitted, and a few tracks are missing. If future versions of Heat fix these things, then I'd prefer Heat.As it is, I prefer Thunder. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Mr. Madden's football games continue to be the titles against which allother gridiron games will be judged. Considering that Madden NFL 2002 isthe Xbox's first contribution to the series, it's a triumphant debut indeed.Everything that we've come to know and love about the console Madden games hasmade it to the Xbox. This version even has minimal but noticeable upgrades fromthe PlayStation2 edition.

Gameplay is almost exactly the same as Madden NFL 2002 on the otherconsoles, with key differences relating to the enormous Xbox controller. Ifyou're not a fan of the Microsoft controller's ill-placed black-and-whitebuttons, you'll be happy to see they aren't used too frequently.

The artificial intelligence exhibited by the Xbox-controlled players seems to beequivalent to that of the very smart PS2 version. In other words, expect aslow-paced, competent game that will challenge you for every yard.

The graphics, however, have been slightly tweaked for the extra pixel-pushingabilities of Microsoft's console. Helmets get scratched and dirt, grass, andother filth accumulates on player uniforms. Players are somewhat sharper andsmoother than in the great-looking PS2 version, plus people with widescreen TVscan view the entire offensive and defensive lines without having to pan left orright. All in all, the improvements over the PS2 version are slight, but they doadd to the atmosphere of the game.

Also retained are the two-minute drills, teaching modes, and Madden Cards fromthe other versions. Sadly, repetitive and droll announcing by Pat "What Game IsHe Watching?" Summerall and John "Blandly Stating the Obvious" Madden didn't getupgraded. One or both of these guys need to hang up their microphones in ahurry. Also, the game still puts way too much emphasis on the passing game, leading to sometimes inflated QB stats.

If you've enjoyed the Madden series on other consoles, you'll love this 2002edition. The legendary Madden gameplay is better than ever, and the games havenever looked this good. --Mark Brooks

Pros:

  • A great football game that plays like its PS2 counterpart
  • Aside from picking receivers, the black-and-white buttons on Microsoft'squestionably designed controller get minimal usage
  • Some visual upgrades, including dirty players and somewhat sharper graphics, from other versions
Cons:
  • Lethargic commentary by Madden and Summerall
  • Gameplay differences between this and PS2 version are minimal at best; don'tbuy both
  • Emphasis on passing can lead to inflated stats

2-0 out of 5 stars holding penalties are ridiculous
Great graphics and some very realistic features but I am furious over the number of holding plays I keep getting especially when I use a superior team over another i.e. the all madden team vs. a regular team. The regular team rarely gets called for holding while I get called nearly a third of the time and on running downs. THAT IS BULL PLOP.

The commentary also needs a lot of workon better coordinating and adding many more so we don't hear the same thing over and over.

Also there are waaaay to many receivers dropping the ball on well thrown passes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Madden 2002, great game
If you like the Madden series, you will love this game. The graphics are astonashing, and the gameplay is amazing. It is a little slow looking at times, but none the less it is such a fun game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best football game for 2002.
This was a great game to get in 2002. Dont bother now, get 2003 but only for the better rosters. I guess you could do this in 2002 but you need to update stats and trade players away, ex. Ricky Williams to the dolphins but it might take a while. ALso you can't add players to the Texans. The controls and gameplay is great. The commentary is average but the player models look fantastic with real-life faces that you can make. You could make a moustached-bearded 400 pound guy or a little, bald, 160 pound kicker. Overall- a great port.

1-0 out of 5 stars It sucks!
This game has OK graphics. It's gameplay SUCKS, everything SUCKS!

4-0 out of 5 stars Addictive
Madden 2002 is an awesome football game! You will be amazed at the graphics on this game. One of the cool things about Madden 2002 is the training camp mode that teaches you how to do every play! Madden 2002 is a great game to try. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars NBA LIVE 2002, Its in the game
If you have played the 2003 and 2004 versions of NBA LIVE and played this version, you will find that they are pretty much the same. Especially the 2003, Players all look pretty much the same and there are not any new moves at all. NBA Live 2004 made some improvement but some of the AI is not tolerable. This game has great AI, and great game play with alot of flashy dunks. Sure some of the guys faces doesnt look as good as the 2003 or 2004, and sure, Michael Jordan still plays in this game, and yeh, Nba Live 2004 has that option where you can choose your favorite team and their colors and players will be showing int he menu, but so what? Aren't these sport games all about gameplay??? Petty features should be ignored and we should not encourage EA to make a sport game every year if the roster is THE ONLY thing to be changed. THis is definitely a cheaper but more worth your money NBA Live.

Gameplay:9
Sound: 8.5
Graphics: 8.5
Replay Value: 9
Overall: 8.75

2-0 out of 5 stars A unrefined game.
The problem about this game is that there is no defense, which means that the only thing that you can do is drive in with the turbo button, then dunk.*sucks.*YOu can roast the AI doing this.Bleg.

2-0 out of 5 stars wheres the Defense
well i've been probably one of the biggest NBA live fans from NBA Live 95 on SNES to current....but wow, this was not very good
graphics and stuff are whatever, they dont really matter ALL that much in a basketball game
crossover and 'stutter step', theres no stutter...
umm, and the worst thing about the game, there's no defense
i was playing it at a friends place and even a person who's never played a basketball game could possibly score on every posession...theres no DEFENSE played by the computer and it is very hard to play defense as a user
holla

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game, Minor Flaws...
First things first: This game was a blast, with excellent gameplay, options, and overall depth. Here's what I thought of the XBOX version of NBA Live 2002 by EA Sports:

1. Gameplay: Excellent in almost every way.Unlike in the older versions, now when you play a good team like the Lakers, it's a lot more difficult to win then when you play someone like the Bulls.I've played a season so far in franchise mode, and I have to admit, it was very addicting.Anyone remember playing the old versions of Live, and finding it so easy on the hardest mode to go 35-0 to begin a season? Not the case here. After probably 50 hours or more of gameplay, I still lose 2 or 3 out of every 10 games. And in the big games, playoffs, or against a team like the Mavs, Lakers, Kinds, etc...you really feel the pressure to win.The AI plays smart, the players and bench react, and the crowd cheers with you on big plays, suddenly goes mute when the other team goes on a run.The reason I love this game, NBA Live's gameplay rocks anything we've seen so far!

The graphics: Very good, but not superb. It's really cool to see a 3-pointer swish threw the net once, then rattle around and go in the next. The ball goes in or out different ways now.Example: in past versions, the ball would just CLANK off the rim or SWISH if it went in.No other animation. Now I never know if it's going to go in or out, and it rattles around a different way every time. The dunks in this game are simply put: AWSOME!!!You never see the same dunk twice, and the twists and spins are incredible to watch. The players as well now look great. You can now clearly tell the difference between big 'ole Shaq and a much smaller Kobe Bryant. The graphics bring this game to life.Where the graphics fail you may ask? There isn't any differnce between one pass or steal and another. No behind the back, no diving for lose balls, no jaw dropping blocks. It gets the job done, but nothing else.I guess we're just spoiled in today's time, but parts of the game are just too simple!

3. Options: Once again: very good, but not great. You can do the usual 1 on 1, exibition, season, franchise, 5 on 5.There's still create a player. But unlike in NBA 2k2, you can't do anything but 1 on 1.No 2 on 2, 3 on 3.In streetball, only one court. In franchise mode (this really killed me) no FANTASY DRAFT.AHHHHHHHH!!!I used to love that, and it always seemed to create a new challenge. But for some reason, no fantasy draft in the 2002 version.WHY???Who knows.Oh, one more thing: No real cash. It's a points system. If you want to re-sign your star, you offer him what...250,000 points?Just make it regular cash like everybody else.I hate the points system.

Overall though, this game rocked.I have probably played it for close to 60 hours, and I still can't put it down.If you want a good basketball game, with the best graphics, gameplay, and overall realism of the NBA.NBA Live 2002 is for you!

Thx!

1-0 out of 5 stars ARE THESE PEOPLE STUPID?
you have got to be kidding me, how can this game be getting all these great reviews. this is quite possibly the worst b-ball game i have ever played (next to espn nba tonite). Nba live 98 is seriously better than this. this cant compare to nba 2k2 on any level. the gameplay is horendous. the graphics are horendous. the concepts are horendous. Please buy nba 2k2 instead of this. the people giving this a good rating must have been hired by EA sports or something. Trust me, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWSOME!!!
i wasn't to much into NASCAR, but i couldn't help it. i bought NASCAR THunder 2002 for my dad, and it's awsome!!! you can choose from over 40+ drivers and it has all the best drivers.
all real drivers and all their cars, and some cars have multiple designs.
you can create your own car with your own sponsors and also, when you go through career mode, you have a chance to become sponsored by a company like Kleenex. real awsome.

also, drivers views are good. you have about 5 views to choose from, including views like hood view and a view where you are the actual driver. real nice.

there are at least a dozen or so race tracks to choose from, and during the season you play at all the major tracks, including the Daytona 500. good game, lots of fun, and up to 4 people can play at one time. real awsome!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Fun!
I think Nascar Thunder 2002 is super fun and deserves 4.5 stars, but somethings are not included. Some of those are 1 you can't pick some of the options on career mode and 2 is that you cannot have coms racing when you have 3 or 4 players racing.

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE
I played this game at [a store] when the XBox was first being released and I have been hooked every since. I had no intention of buying an XBox as I have always been a Nintendo fan and I assumed the Gamecube was going to release Thunder also but when they didn't I knew I had to go out and buy the XBox just for this game. The drafting effects seem so realistic it's like you're actually driving the car. I have played almost every Nascar game available and I can honestly say this IS the best of all of them. Good job EA and XBox for the most addictive racing game ever created.

3-0 out of 5 stars . . .
... I don't know if I'm 100% happy with the decision. Like any good gamer, I came home and popped the disc in the machine and explored all of the options and features for a few hours.
I thought the career mode was neat and different, but at the same time a bit frustrating. Having played only NASCAR 4 before this, the feature seemed great-- something akin to Franchise in Madden. The main frustration is that I haven't figured out how to switch from a 5% race length (which is entirely too short).
As gameplay and graphics go, the game is hit and miss. Graphics are terrifically detailed, but kind of jaggy on a regular TV hook up. The sun glare gets irritating at times. The car handles pretty loosely, even when tweaked (i.e. you hit left on the D-pad a bunch of times to turn instead of applying a steady press at a certain pressure to turn). You need to be very (very!) delicate on the stick to turn smoothly. However, I'm still using the stability control so . . .
I know I had a lot of criticism for Thunder, but I think overall this is a solid game. This is one that takes patience and finesse. Definitely not a pick up and play title. If you are willing to put in the time to get good at this game and learn the finer points, I am sure it can be very enjoyable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best racing game out there
I recently purchusad Nascar Thuder for my xbox Its got the best graphics all the tracks and all of the cars from the 2001 nascar winston cup season this game easy to learn and fun to play ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars from what ive herd
most people doing a review from what i can tell havent even rode a dirtbike so they think this game is relistic well its not on this game there are no actual roots in turns the rythem section is the easiest and the preloading is bad but if you have only watched or never raced you would like this game (thanks to carmichael and stewart)

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS GAME!
This game is the best game ever. What I really like about the game is that you can create your own player. You can't do that in MX Superfly. This game is great for doing wheelies. From the moment I had my hands on it,I could not stop playing it.I love the tricks in this game.I recommand this game to anybody that loves dirt biking.

5-0 out of 5 stars MX 2002 R.C
Much Better Than MX Superfly

2-0 out of 5 stars this game sucks
At first i liked the game but it got boring in 10 minutes

3-0 out of 5 stars Nothing revolutionary for an MX game
MX 2002 is definitely a fun game, but it isn't a particuarly ground breaking title.

The game centers around a career mode. You start at an Amateur in the 125cc class and work your way up to the 125cc Pros and then the 250cc Pros. Along the way you can take part in freestyle competitions and tutorials to hone your skills.

The tracks are varied and can be quite long, which makes for fun racing. However, the game as a whole is quite short. I was able to complete the game within 3 days and it doesn't offer much in the way of replayability because there are so few team/bike choices. Also, features such as qualifying races (and last chance qualifiers) are completely absent.

Overall I found Supercross 2000 for the N64 much more enjoyable. In particular it had running commentary during the races and multiple camera views. MX 2002 has neither of these.

I recommend renting it for a couple days of entertainment. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars NFL 2K2
Bought this tape for my kids, they love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!
I got this game for my birthday this year.I can honestly say it is the most realistic football game to date.I'm not knocking Madden because that game is good too.NFL Fever is weak, its like playing with Super Mario guys.Totally unrealistic.NFL2k3 on the other hand looks and feels like you are watching a REAL NFL game. The addition of the ESPN license didn't kill this title it only made it better. You will feel like its really sunday and you are watching a real game. After the play the players with help each other up, pat each other on the back, or wince when they drop a pass. And during the game you get scores from around the league via an ESPN news ticker, just like on the real ESPN.I have loved NFL2k series since it first came out and have only bought them.Your either a Madden fan or a Sega fan.I'm a Sega fan and glad I am.

4-0 out of 5 stars Extreme difficulty levels
I am a new XBox owner, much older than most players, and 2K2 is my first game. With that said, the graphics and sound are tremendously lifelike. To a casual observer walking past the TV the game almost looks and sounds like a real game. The game has three difficulty levels. On the rookie level, after a few practices I picked a mediocre team, the Cowboys, and blitzed undefeated to the Super Bowl Championship, winning 42-7. I switched to the second level of difficulty and was continually slaughtered. Receivers almost always dropped the ball or the pass was intercepted. Three defenders smothered the receiver or the runner no matter what play I tried. So I am disappointed that there is that much difference in the levels of difficulty. I will have to be content to playing the rookie level unless I want to depress myself playing the next level.

5-0 out of 5 stars You actually feel an NFL player!!
...NFL 2k2 gives you the option of playing a normal season, taking your team up to the superbowl; or playing the franchise mode which is a different approach to the NFL: you manage a team, buy players, trade them, cut them off your team, extend contracts, etc.

You also have the option of creating your own team. You create each one of your players and allocate their skills according to what you're looking for.

This game is amazing. You can sack, blitz, intecept, fumble, safety, block kicks, return them to the end zone, you can get injured, you can injure, you can call audibles, you can, as a QB, run with the ball if all your receivers are covered, etc. etc. etc.

To all you die-hard NFL fans... buy this game!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst football game ever
The graphics in this game are absolutely horrible. Gameplay is horrible, selecting plays is horrible, commentary is horrible, the game is very unorganized. Good thing I only rented it. Go with NFL Fever, it is everything a football game should be and nothing like this worthless game, NFL2k2. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT HOCKEY GAME
GREAT EXITING GAME THAT REALLY GETS YOUR HEARTRATE UP.I CAN'T BE BEAT WITH JAMIR JAGR AND THE WASHINGTON CAPITALS.

5-0 out of 5 stars NHL 2002 - Hockey That Rocks Your House Into an Ice Rink-
This game rocks, the graphics are cool and the sound is very realistic. The Create-a-player option is very good, because of some simple steps you do to create a player, put his Checking ability, his agressive rating, and even his potencial and speed can be selected with just some clicks. I usually play with the pitsburgh penguins or the San Jose Sharks. You can create a team of your favorite players like Owen Nolan or even your created player of yourself. The fight mode in the games is awesome and the goal celebration cool. If you want to play a season, a world tournament with Team Canada or just a shootout the options are greate so you can guide yourself easy inside the Ice Rink. You can play with Joystick or a Game Pad or even with your own keyboard you can score goals and make natural hat-tricks with the power that offers you this 1 or 2 player game is awesome...

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok, but not much difference from the 2001 version...
I rented this game because of how much I liked previous NHL games made by EA Sports. So I picked this up and poped it in.The first thing I noticed was that there were a lot of little movies.Players getting pumped up before a game, celebrations on and off the ice.I thought that was pretty cool, and a new added feature. But other than little things like that, this game doesn't offer much of anything new. Here's what I thought about this game, and why I only thought it a renter, not a buyer.

1. The graphics: The players are sharper, the ice is thicker. The fans actually move in 3D!But overall, not to great. The puck is way too big, and the overall graphics just aren't to improved. This game had great graphics, but so did previous versions.

2. The options: HORRIBLE.No create a team, no new features. And the biggest thing, no FRANCHISE mode! That was about as dumb as having no franchise mode in NBA Live 2001.I am seriously disapointed by the options in this game.Nothing new whatsoever!

3. The overall depth: After your first season, this game will probably get pretty boring.More new features and better graphics is what this game needs.I hope EA changed things in 2003 edition.Oops, too bad! They did the same thing.Until they finally add some sort of franchise and stuff like that, EA's NHL series will continue, for me, to be a renter, not a buyer.Rent before u buy, then make your decision.Just a warning.

Hope this helped, and I expect a lot more from the great company that is EA.Thx!

3-0 out of 5 stars 2002 falls short
My brother and I have probably logged more head-to-head games than anyone playing EA hockey simulations. We enjoyed the first two versions for the Sega and now have been playing NHL 99 for Playstation since it debued. We were ready to upgrade and went out and purchased an X-box specifically to play this game.We tried it for about an hour and decided that it wasn't worth the investment. (Sold everything at a loss on E-bay) The graphics were certainly much better than the 99 version and the gameplay was pretty good (not [money] better); but the one aspect we just couldn't get by was the horrible color commentary.I have read many reviews that said it was hilarious but we found that it just distracts from the realism of the game.Though the comments in 99 get a bit repetitive (in fact the rink announcer commentary is identical in 2002), at least they are similar to what you could actually hear watching a real game.2002 turns the game into a joke. It's like having Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football;you don't need annoying analogies everytime someone goes up and down the ice.99 kept the color comments spaced out much better and more in line with reality.
As for the ability to control every aspect of the game, I find that also takes away from the realism. If I have the option of having an unbeatable goalie why wouldn't I take it?99 was a great game in that each team was based on the real-life abilities of that team.If you want to win with a weaker team, you have to be a better player, not merely tweak and tune the options menu.
To be fare I'm sure there are aspects of the game that we couldn't pssibly have found in an hours time, but a great game should WOW you right from the get go and make you want to explore more, this game made it seem like a chore to find aspects to like. We'll try NHL 2000 for Playstation instead and see what that brings to the table, at least we'll save a few bucks!

3-0 out of 5 stars it is O.K.
NHL 2002 is a great game when you first buy it. Its is fast paced, action packed, and just plain fun. but after a while you start losing interest. maybe its because the season is to long, or that you play it 24/7. then it just becomes one of your old games that you dont play to much. if the could have like cheats for extra special teams and stuff it might be more fun, but unfortuatley NHL 2002 doesnt have that. i think this is just a waste of money considering how boring it gets.
