Jonny won the gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics in the freestyle mogul event. He revolutionized skiing by bringing a nontraditional, "extreme" style to the event, and became world famous for his "360 mute grab." This game, based on his exploits, lets you show off your new-school skiing tricks in Slopestyle mode and unlock Big Mountain mode to star in a ski movie! Then get heli-dropped onto a mountaintop and pull insane grabs off snowcapped cottages, trains, and more. Even use the Alaskan pipeline as a half-pipe. Afterward, kick it with your friends and watch your best runs on the big screen! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Awful
This game has to be the worst attempt at an extreme skiing game I have ever seen. The controls make it almost impossible to do tricks and ski at the same time. I don't recommend this game to any person who has enough common sense to know there aren't any real ski runs like the ones in this game. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mad Trix? Extreme Fun!
Oy gevalt! What a mensch of a game!I'm an extreme Asian with an extreme love of extreme sports and nothing is more extremely Asian and fun than Johnny Moseley Mad Trix. It's like a party on my TV screen, and Johnny Moseley's invited as are his cool friends, who I wish were my friends too.Anyone who doesn't like this game can kish meer en tokhes!I almost plotzed.YAY!

1-0 out of 5 stars I'd rather jump off a birdge
Let me tell you a story about this being the worst game ever! The controls are just jacked up.It just doesn't feel right trying to do the big tricks.THPS made the tricks flow together, nothing like this game.Another thing, what were they thinking when they made levels in Las Vegas, and San fransisco.I mean if it was a real skiing game, why not make the levels at places where you can actually ski.Jackson Hole, Copper Mountain, Squaw, Mt, Mammoth, Wolf creek....

1-0 out of 5 stars insult to skiers everywhere
Put this one under "skiers who want to snowboard". Just watching the opening video is comical, cause Johnny Mosely is such a wanna be snowboarder. I'm sorry, skiing will NEVER be like snowboarding. Skiing is about speed, mogels and tricks on a mogel course.
The actual game lacks any reason to play. The physics are so horrible in this game. Sliding over dirt makes no diffrence between snow? What the heck? The time it takes to turn is so unrealistic. The worst part of all is the inclusion of a speedomoter. Headin down the mountain, the game claims you're going 50 mph, yet gives the sense of snowplowing down a bunny hill. Its so incredibly fake and stupid.
Snow board games are fun cause they give people the chance to do tricks most of us will never do. In Mad Trix, actual skiing is better. Do yourself a favor and use the money for a snowboarding game. Or better yet, actually go skiing!

3-0 out of 5 stars WHERE is the SPEED
decent game... but the game speed is slow making it easy the first time you play so it soon becomes dissappointing.

The skiers need to go about 3 times as fast. ... Read more

The critics' favorite PC baseball game, High Heat Baseball, has come to bat on the PS2. This graphically rich simulator with down-to-the-pinstripes detail is also among the system's most configurable titles. A tuning feature will allow you to adjust the variable elements of the game, such as error frequency, and the not so variable, like physics. High Heat Baseball 2002 includes updated 2001 rosters, and with the game's player editor, you can add to (or subtract from) a laundry list of abilities. Beyond that, the game's create-a-player feature lets you build your ballplayer from the mound up. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Could have been a LOT better!!
I don't have much to say about this game other than it has the worst possible graphics of all baseball games I've ever played. The gameplay is good, but the graphics is very poor. When I pitch, I like to have a pithcer's camera on, and when you take a look at the catcher, it's pityful. All the time he is half-standing and half-sitting. This is bull. I only give this game 2 stars for gameplay.

If graphics is impportant for you, buy an All-Stat baseball. Game.

I hope that High Heat 2003 is going to be better.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Best PS2 Baseball Game To Date!
Okay, I know that I will not be the first to say, that if you are looking for graphics or a pretty game, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a solid baseball game that is fast-paced and fun to play, 3DO has hit a home run.
From a gameplay aspect, High Heat 2K2 is awesome. Depending on the settings, the game can be very easy in Rookie mode or difficult to the point of where you want to break your PS2 by the time you get to the highest level.
Hitting can be difficult at times; you have to be perfectly in line with the ball in order to make good solid contact. This is real baseball; no power swings, batting cursors, or speed bursts buttons.
Pitching is fun, as you can psyche out your opponent by throwing balls in the dirt, following with a fastball at the belt.
The little things make this game a gem. Errors, dropped third strikes, passed balls, charging the mound, ejections, etc. make this game what it is.
Where there is a good, there is a bad. High Heat only has limited game modes. It somehow missed a Home Run Derby or Batting Practice mode, as well as a playoffs mode. It lacks a Create-A-Player mode and a minor league system. 3DO states that this game was made for solid gameplay and next years HH2K3 should be a prettier, more polished version. I know that I can't wait. This game is well worth the money if you are looking for a solid, fun game.

2-0 out of 5 stars I will never buy another edition of High Heat.
I just bought this game because I needed a baseball game for PS2 and I'm a big Guerrero fan.Oh, how I was disappointed. The game play is actually pretty good.I like the fact that there's no cursor for batting. It really feels like it takes some baseball knowledge to play, as you have to guess kind of pitch and location, which I actually got pretty good at after playing about 20 games. However, this doesn't overshadow the many cons of the game.
There are a laundry list of problems with the game. The scenes where the players walk to the plate is choppy. The dugouts are empty.Sometimes when you hit a homerun it looks like the guy is running across the plate from the first base side. The pitcher is choppy when throwing a pitch, and after throwing a pitch he goes straight back to his original stance, so he'll go instantly from crouching forward in front of the rubber after a pitch to standing on the rubber with no transition. The batter goes from the end of his swinging motion right back to his original stance (pretty much the same as the complaint about the pitcher). The umpires spin around as the "camera" spins around them, which looks stupid, but not as stupid as the fact that they have faces on both sides of their head.If the camera is rotating and you are pressing forward, your player runs in circles, because the controls are in relation to the view on the screen.I know there's more, but I don't have all day.
The problems seemed insignificant at first, but they pile up quickly and become very irritating. The game play is good, I don't know why 3DO had to cheap out when it came to touching up all the graphics parts of the game. The most irritating part is that the problems would have been easily fixable with a little bit of work. It's not like they were major bugs in the game.Neglecting these problems just looks like laziness on the part of 3DO, and it is that fact that will lead me to buy All-Star Baseball when the 2003 baseball games come out.

3-0 out of 5 stars Could be better. Weak graphics and no joystick control......
Alot of gamers have praised this baseball simulation for it's gameplay alone. I think the gameplay is well done also, but the graphics looked absolutely horrible....and very choppy animation to go with it! The players' faces looked like they had gone 30 rounds in the ring, straight, with Lennox Lewis! The players run the bases and field like little Jawas. You control the players movements, pitches and swings by the analog pad instead of the important joystick....that was a really lame idea from 3D0! That is what turned me away from really appreciating this game....incredible graphics, control and gameplay is essential to have for a Playstation 2 baseball game, and this did not have all of those! Hopefully next year, they'll be better in putting out a much praised game that we all can agree with!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and easy to play
What I like about HHB2K is that you don't have to go through a complicated series of button presses and cursor aiming to get a pitch off.I believe this keeps the game fresh and flowing smoothly. The graphics are good (could be better). The play-by-play announcers could use a lot of improvement. They don't really vary in what they say.

I would recommend this game to anyone who just wants to play a good game of PS2 baseball and doesn't want to scrutinize every detail. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

The 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City inspired a lot of tie-ins andlicensed material, but oddly enough one of the best 2002 Olympic-style sportsgames is based on the ESPN license and completely lacks Olympic rings, torches, and fanfare. But even without official Olympic magic, ESPN InternationalWinter Sports 2002 wins a gold thanks to smooth and simple play.

The game features just about every Winter Olympic sport worth watching: downhillalpine skiing, slalom skiing, bobsledding, half-pipe snowboarding, ski jumping, freestyle mogul skiing, speed skating, figure skating, and curling. Hockey isnotably absent from this list; the game developer rightly assumed that hockeyfans will be better served by a dedicated hockey game such as NHL2002.

The included events use clever but simple control schemes, and the basics ofeach event are explained with a tutorial designed to quickly teach you how toperform the necessary actions and go about the business of breaking records. Forexample, ski jumping involves quickly pressing two buttons and then a third tojump, the former two to extend your distance, and the third one again to land.Bobsledding mainly demands a smooth touch of the digital stick, and figureskating is a choreographed event wherein the player performs onscreen prompts. It's amusing that a next-generation game uses a control system based on theold-school Track & Field arcade machine, but in the past 20 years nobody hascome up with a better way to simulate Olympic sport.

While the controls may be dated, the graphics are unmistakably on the cuttingedge. The game looks brilliant--crisp and pure as the day after a light snow. The snow fans up when skiers turn, and the polygonal athletes have excellentfacial graphics. The presentation is fantastic and so is multiplayer with abuddy.

So, when Olympic fever strikes, even if the Olympics are long gone, you'll wantto have a copy of Konami's ESPN International Winter Sports 2002.--Bob Andrews

Pros:

  • Excellent controls and a wide range of sports to play
  • Looks fantastic
Cons:
  • The controls aren't really simulations; they can even be physically tiring
  • It's missing Olympic accouterments and athletes

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice Graphics But Bad Game
ESPN International Winter Sports 2002 is preety dumb. There's no Olympic Athletics and that takes away alot. I was looking forward to Speed Skating with Apolo Onno but their was this guy that was not even a speed skater. So I moved on to snowboarding and their was that same guy. You don't see Apolo Onno snowboarding in the real Olympics! I tried every single event and their was that sam guy on EVERY event! ESPN could of made different people for each event! It's hard to control too. The only way I found to do snowboarding was push X, trangle, square, circle together then push Left, Right, Right.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! GRAPHICS ARE GOOD BUT NOT THE GAME!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Very ordinary, and grows old quickly...
The graphics are fabulous, but this is where my praise for ESPN International Winter Sports 2002 ends. I was very dissapointed with the title. While the ski jump events held my attention for a while, most of the other events grow old so quickly, that this is really a game you should rent prior to purchase. There are a good variety of events to participate in, from downhill to snowboarding, figure skating to ski jumps...and yes.....even the exciting sport of curling. None of which are very awe inspiring. The half-pipe snowboarding event is the biggest dissapointment. You have no control over the direction of your athlete, but merely complete a sequence of buttons before time runs out to do a specific trick. This is true of a few of the other events. The game was fun for all of an hour, and has now begun what I'm sure will be a long run of collecting dust. There isn't much here worth seeing or playing. And games like this have been done much better in the past.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Game
This game is a very good game especially if you like winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. I think this is definitely worth spending money on. At times the game can get you a little frusturated and can be hard sometimes. But in all it is a very good game.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great game...Lots of fun!
This is one great game.It is lots of fun!It is loads better than Salt Lake City 2002, because it has more events, and the events are much better. This is a challenging game, with competitions that are hard, but can be easier depending on how much you practice the events, and which character you choose. It's hard to do well becasue each character has their different strengths. The only few things this game is lacking is the Olympic venues, real athletes, and a Create-A-Player mode.Create-A-Player would be nice. The following is the ratings of each event:

Downhill 8.5/10
This at first is hard to do, b/c you need to go fast and hit all, the gates, but once you get good, its rewarding.

Slalom 5/10
This is possibly the worst event. It's extremely hard to make all the gates, let alone while trying to score a fast time.Although, though I am not very good at it yet, it could be fun once you get good.

K90 7.5/10
An average event, not very hard to learn, and easy to get a silver medal in.Getting a gold is very hard, b/c the CPU is very tough.

K120 6.5/10
Again, an average event, a little weaker rating than the K90 b/c it is quite harder to do, b/c you have to keep pushing O and X.

Moguls 10/10
THIS IS GREAT.You have to make good turns all the way thru as well as performing tricks. There are 25 different tricks you can pull, but a few good ones are missing, such as the dinner roll. This one can be hard to do, but it is great fun.

Snowboard Halfpipe 9/10
This is also GREAT.It's fairly simple to learn, and there are 16 different tricks you can pull, which are all cool. Also, different countries have differnt tricks, so there are more than 16.

Speed Skating 5.5/10
Not very good. It's physically tiring. You have to push O & X alternately and slow down on the turns.I am glad this is only 500 meters, and not 10,000, otherwise my arms would fall off. This can be good if you have a fast skater.

Bobsleigh 8.5/10

This is fun to play, and easy to win if you dont hit any walls, or only hit a minimal amount. The downside is that this isn't very realistic. It has big hills and big drops, and no real bobsled course has that; just turns. Also, there are little things on the track that give you speed boosts, which don't occur in real life.Other than this, it is still fun and fairly easy.

Curling N/A
I haven't played this one yet b/c the other events are too fun, so I can't fairly give it a rating. My friend played halfway thru one match and it takes forever, so I don't play it.

Figure Skating 8.5/10
This is fun to do, and easy to win if you have good timing. You choose from 3 songs and press certain buttons to make your skater do certain things, and then you can do jumps and spins.I recommened that you choose the song "Bomber Night."

Extras-
There are 4 game modes: Trial, Head to Head, Men's Championship, & Women's Championship
Also, you can unlock certain "outfits".I have no idea what they are b/c I haven't unlocked any yet.You are also given a password at the end of a championship to post on the internet to compare you score to others around the world.

Overall, this game is a good buy, b/c it's fun and it's cheap.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, BUT...
This is a great game! It has ten events, each very fun. However, a create a player mode would be nice. A more realistic olympic compitition would be great. Also, IT NEEDS REAL ATHLETES!

Speed Skating 6/10
It's fun, but pressing O and X at various speeds isn't THAT fun.

Figure Skating 6/10
You have to press buttons at certain time to get the skater to do tricks. Not really that good.

Moguls 9/10
This is really fun. You can perform a ton of tricks of the two ramps. The turns with the L and R button are also nice.

Slalom 2/10
I HATE this event. It is impossible not to miss a gate. Ughhhh!

Downhill 4/10
It is is a little easier to not miss a gate, but it is still really hard.

Bobsleigh 8/10
This is another great event. At the start you press O and X rapidly and then L to get the each athlete in the bobsleigh. Then, you steer the Bobsleigh to the end.

Half-Pipe Snowboarding 6/10
It's okay... but it's not really that fun. You just have to press the right button at the right moment.

Ski Jumping K90 10/10
NO JOKE! This is one AMAZING event. First, you press the left and right control stick down to set the wind. Then, you hold them to to gain speed and push them both of when you get to the jump.Push them bothe slowly down as you fall to keep up with the yellow line. Press L or R to land.

Ski Jumping K120 4/10
This is what happens when you take K90, replace everything with button mashing, and excpect it to be fun. Ughhhh!

Curling 5/10
I know how to play but... It's not really all that fun in Winter Sports 2002. The computers are also unrealistically good.

Now that you have read my review, I hope you can make an honest decision. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Jeremy McGrath's Supercross World features 10-time supercross champion Jeremy McGrath and his heir apparent, Travis Pastrana, as well as eight other top supercross pros, including Sebastian Tortelli, Ezra Lusk, Tim Ferry, Grant Langston, Mike Brown, Ernesto Fonseca, Nathan Ramsey, and James Stewart. The game's 25 supersized tracks encompass indoor supercross, outdoor motocross, freestyle, and, for the first time in a supercross game, Baja mode.

Jeremy McGrath's Supercross World is designed for anyone to pick up and play, but it also offers depth of gameplay. You can ride as any of the pros for a quick freestyle tournament with your friends, or battle your way through the championship mode for a longer gaming experience. The game features an innovative stunt-advantage system: when players perform a stunt and land it correctly, they'll get a brief speed boost or other skill advantage. It pays to be on point with your aerial skills.

Each track has various minichallenges. Every time a player completes a challenge for a track, he or she will earn a trophy. The game's freestyle mode packs two-dozen tricks, including nac-nacs, supermans, fender grabs, 360s, and barrel rolls. The freestyle arenas are wide-open outdoor and indoor areas where you'll have plenty of room to perform mind-bending tricks by yourself or head-to-head with a friend.

The attribute system is broken down into eight attributes (four rider and four bike). Rider attributes (stability, slide, preload, and charisma) can be upgraded as a reward for doing well in career mode. Bike attributes (power band, top speed, cornering, and suspension) are preconfigured for each bike. The gamer will have to determine the best way to allocate earned attribute points on top of his or her bike attributes. Gamers who optimize rider and bike attributes will have the best chance of winning it all.

In addition, the game offers head-to-head split-screen gameplay. Race your friends in any of our four split-screen modes: Baja, freestyle, indoor supercross, or outdoor motocross. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Supercross World Blows
What is there to say about Supercross World? Horrible graphics. Robotic animations. Bad riders. Stupid tracks. Queer trick system. Repetitive. Easy. No free ride. Bikes are all the same, vary only by color. Terrible gameplay. No thought was put into this game whatsoever. Don't even rent it. I'm sure anyone who owns this game will be happy to give it away.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing
This game is bad. it is boring, you just drive in a straight line most of the time, and the courses had bad graphics. at least it has a cool soundtrack, though. plus, the tricks are nearly impossible, and the trick courses are poorly made. i bought this at a used game store and returned it the next day. it is dissapointing, get atv offroad fury instead

i loved the graphics also the gamplay the hardest part is the mens ski jump because it was hard at first ,and the speed of the gaame is too fast...SLOW DOWN:]

1-0 out of 5 stars Salt Lake 2002
I received this game as a Christmas gift and having never heard of it, was pretty excited to check it out. However, after around 30 minutes of frustration, I just couldn't take it any more. Most of the reviews on this game pretty much sum up why this is so bad but there are a few things that stand out most to me, such as: The pathetically small number of events, the dead unrealistic feel, and the painfully long process of re-trying or switching an event... ugh!

1-0 out of 5 stars Really really bad....
This is quite possibly the worst game I have ever played on the PS2, or for almost any system for that matter.I'd rather bring out my Super Nintendo and play that instead of this boring piece of ....The graphics are bad, the sound [stinks], the gameplay's slow as ..., and to top it all off there are only 6 events, which are all equally terrible.I mean 6 events in a Winter Olympics game??Give me a break this is an 128 bit system here. It's tolerable.. and I mean barely tolerable.. for about 15 minutes before I want to throw the pretty case in the garbage.I think it is safe to say that I am now dumber after playing this game.I award this game one star, and may God have mercy on everyone at Eidos' soul....

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice Try
Salt Lake 2002 is not a bad game, but it isn't good either. The graphics are excellent, but some of the events are bad. Bobsleigh, and skiing aren't bad but the others are. You dont stay into it for long. I liked it for a while, but it gets boring.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing

3-0 out of 5 stars oh sure the game....
could be better.there are better football games out there.i collect football games.on the other hand.gameday has a strange charm, and some innovation.they are the first console video football game to feature "gang tackles".they were the first to introduce polygon players in gameday 98.they have made history and innovations in football gaming.as far as this game.the running game could be more fluid.the defensive backs could do better.play action should not be a translation that means "take a sack". overall the gameplay is slow and choppy.i should have a better feel of control of the players. ironically of all the gamedays on the ps2.this one has the best graphics of any to date. still not saying much.when compared to ea's and sega's offerings. the tackling animations are great though. its been my experience that every gamer has a game that's like this.while you play you say this."this game is terrible, this game was a waste of money, this game disk doesn't deserve to be a coaster, this game is a waste of time, i hate this game, the football gaming gods should punish 989 for putting out such a game.ahhhh!"then six hours later."HEY WHY AM I STILL PLAYING THIS GAME?"gameday 2002 is that kind of game for me.i only paid $8 for it.just a little more than the cost of a rental. in my subconcious i must think this game is enjoyable.so enjoy those games you hate but love to play.

3-0 out of 5 stars Why Gameday is no Match for Madden.
Gameday is so slow, it looks like the players are running in slow motion. It takes like 5 seconds to throw the ball and it looks like the QB is throwing a 2,000 pound boulder. This game has few cool features and if you like football and own a PS2/PS, choose EA Sport's Madden over this cheesy game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't know what the issue is....
I have played this game for two days, I don't have any problems with it. My db's cover fine, my receivers catch fine. I have not experienced the trouble these other gamers are stating. The graphics are great, the players actually vary in size and the physics of the game (i.e. a large player hitting a smaller player) seem to be as close as any football game I have played. I do think it is strange that one person had trouble with his db's and the other had trouble with his receivers. Possible operator error is my guess. It's a good game and for the money it is probably the best one I have played for the PS2.

4-0 out of 5 stars Back on track!
NFL Gameday 2002 has put the series back on track. The graphics are the best NFL Gameday has ever looked, and they are good competiton to NFL 2K2. The gameplay is great, and is still a lot of fun. All the flaws have been cleaned up, putting this game back in the prime.

Why not 5 stars?
It is not as good as the new Madden.

1-0 out of 5 stars Major problems with GameDay 2002
Up to this point I've been a fan of the GameDay series.I loved my GameDay 2000 for the regular Playstation. But the 2002 version for the Playstation 2 has two flaws that I came across.First, there's a bug in the game so that occassionally, when a team scores a touchdown, it says that the extra point (PAT) was missed even though the user never even had the chance to set up and kick the PAT.The second problem is that no one seems to be able to catch anything.I can understand missing a catch if the receiver is covered, but I rarely connect a pass even with those receivers who are wide open.An honest guess would be 20% of the passes I made were caught in this game -- when the receiver is open.I'm very disappointed with this game. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Very slow and very boring
Legends of Wrestling is not worth it at all. The game is very slow, the graphics are sub par but considering that this game is on the PS2 and XBOX, the graphics are mediocre at best. Also the gaemplay and control is awful.

With fighting games like Tekken 4, MK Deadly Alliance and wrestling games like Smackdown SYM, this series really doesn't stand a chance because these games are faster, have better controls and the gameplay and replay value is great. I won't deny L of W has a lot of great names in it like George "The Animal" Steele, Hulk Hogan, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka and more but still, the names in this game can't hold the game up.

If there was any indication that this was going to be a bad wrest;ong game, the fact that it's released by Akklaim and as most of you remember that Akklain also had the unfortunate mishaps of having their name attached to their last wrestling games WWF Attitude and ECW Hardcore Revolution. Honestly, Akklain lost the license to release games for a reason and there are 2 right there. Skip this one and if you're looking for a good wrestling game, check out the Smackdown series because you'll enjoy that much more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Legends does not live up to past Acclaim games
Legends of Wrestling is a pretty good game since the roster has some superstars that you will know (Hulk, RVD, Bret Hart, and a few others). The gameplay is pretty slow because the controls are not like WWF SmackDown!. It is hard to reverse moves done by other wrestlers. The move list is hard to figure out you have press buttons over and over again. The graphics are like EA's WCW games. THe modes in the game are few think WCW Mayhem (CAreer,Exhibition, Tage, Special Referee, Tournment, Create a wrestler). It's like WWF Attitude you play career and tournment mode to unlock hidden wrestlers. There is no commentary like in WWf Attitude, You can get weapons in any match and use them in the ring. I hope that LOW 2 is better than the first when it comes out. I will save up for the game if the reviews are good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game if you take the time to learn it.
This game is great, but you have to learn the controls and all that each character is capable of doing.I played this game for at least a month straight compared to 1 day for Smackdown. If you want a game where you only have 3 or 4 moves in each situation, get Smackdown. If you want a game where dozens of moves are available if you know how to do them, this is the game. The booklet with the game is very brief. You definitely will need the strategy guide but it is worth it.

Can't wait for Legends II!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars True Independent wrestling
The big complaint seems to be who made it in and who didn't.Doesn't matter. The game is actually pretty good, once you get past the move learning curve. It gave a very nice impression of working in the regional promotions, back in the day.I also like that, in the Create-A-Wrestler, you can actually make up a name, and have the Ring Announcer use it.I like the Career Mode, and having to work (literally) around the world made for a nice change from Raw or Smackdown. The "get the crowd into you" factor was a VERY nice touch.Over all, not too bad.I'm looking forward to the next one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre wrestling title
What's done right in LOW ? Well it has a roster of 42 old-school wrestlers with standouts such as Koko B.Ware, George "The Animal"
Steele, and theRoad Warriors, Hawk and Animal. It also features an innovative combo system that makes playing the game one part WZ(warzone) and one part PaRappa the rapper as you try to hit the right button in time to reverse grapples or counter attack.
What's done wrong? Everyting else!!!! The slow, unintuative controls underlie awful slapped-together graphics anda bargin bin soundtrack that features MIDI rock-type sound-alikes of the real wrestler's theme. Classic superstars like Rowdy Roddy Piper and Andre the Giant are conspicuously missing, while (now say it while pointing your thumbs at your shoulders and looking like an idiot)"RVD" and Sabu made it on the list. If you love classic wrestling, do yourself a favor and pass this up, you'll be glad you did. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Visual Concepts created a huge stir with the original NFL 2K--thefirst football video game that actually looked like you were watching a game onTV. NFL 2K2, the third game in the series, still features themind-boggling graphics, stunning player animations, and great play modes of theoriginal. And, despite an often frustrating passing engine, it's still one ofthe best sports simulations around.

You can play as any NFL team in a variety of modes: practice, tourney, exhibition, season, playoffs, franchise, fantasy, tutorial, and network (againstup to seven other players nationwide). The franchise mode is again one of thegame's strengths, as it offers a variety of scouting and free agency options, letting you customize your roster as a general manager based on the statisticsand financial demands of actual players. Now you can learn what the WashingtonRedskins already know--the salary cap is a cruel mistress.

The player animations are again the star of the show. There are literally dozensof potential endings to any collision in NFL 2K2, from stumbling fiveyards after a shoestring tackle to spinning dizzily between two linebackers tosomersaulting through the air after stretching for a catch over the middle. And,although the tackles can be spectacular, the game doesn't betray its simulationroots by making them too extreme. These aren't torn from the comics pages, as insome games.

Sega Sports has talked up its new passing system quite a bit, and it is bothchallenging and intriguing--perfect for the hard-core simulation expert.Unfortunately, the rest of us are left struggling to complete 5 to 10 passes agame. Essentially, the game asks players to expertly anticipate routes and timethe receiver's catch. This is no easy task in a fast-moving game such as this,as receivers routinely drop wide-open passes on the rare occasions they do getopen, and you'll find your primary receiver blanketed by two or more defensivebacks on most plays. The passing engine isn't overwhelmingly flawed, but averagegamers will need some serious time to overcome the Ravens-like pass defensethey'll face early on.

The running game was the original NFL 2K's main weakness, and it remainsthe single biggest improvement over the evolution of the series. Sometimesrunning between the tackles in NFL 2K2 can be a tad too easy and runningoutside can be too challenging, but the game rewards players who see holesdevelop and are adept at cutbacks.

It's the small details, though, that make NFL 2K2 the sports simulationtriumph that it is. The commentary--although still prone to calling turnoversincorrectly--is first rate, the on-field player dialogue is highly entertaining, and even the stadium music and crowd chants add to the atmosphere rather thanannoy.

The game isn't necessarily worth an upgrade for people who already own NFL2K1, as the improvements aren't dramatic (unless updated rosters are yourmain concern). But for football fans who want one of the best-looking sportssimulations ever made--and who don't mind the initial frustration of lousyquarterback ratings--NFL 2K2 is a Hail Mary come true. --RiversJanssen

--This text refers to theDreamcast version of thisgame.

Pros:

  • Unbelievable graphics, yet again
  • Extremely responsive gameplay
Cons:
  • Gamers must have genuine football skills to complete a pass
  • Improvements from NFL 2K1 are minimal

5-0 out of 5 stars best game: madden:no nk2:yes
If there was one word i could say that would describe this game it would have to be awesome. Why, some people ask.I tell them this.2k2 has the best graphics i have ever seen in a football game.Plus the controls are easy and the kicking and punting is pretty easy too. After about 20 hours of playing this game it still takes up some of my playing time(especially when friends come over).I was just at my cousins a couple days ago and we decided that we would play some madden 2002(ps2).So we picked teams and started the game.As soon as the kickoff meter was going i noticed something right off the bat.The players all looked like migets and where pretty much all the same size.About 2 plays into the game i shook my head in disgust. All of the sudden i had the urge to quit playing this game and put in 2k2.I guess i was used to playing such a good game like 2k2 and then putting in that ... they call madden made me feel like i was playing wrong kind of football game.even though sega has only been making ps2 football games for 2 years i personally think that 2k4 will kick maddens ... out of the house.THIS GAME RULES!

4-0 out of 5 stars Madden has competition big time
This is a great football game. Very similar to Madden. Let me break it down
Graphics- Both incredible. Madden more realistic looking. Nfl2k special features like multi angle views is wild. Madden had coaches on sideline pretty neat

Kicking-Nfl 2k much better kicking
Running- a little easier in madden
PAssing- Difficult in both slight edge to nfl2k. Lot of dropped balls in MAdden
Play calling- Definatley MAdden. Gets a little confusing in NFL2k
Modes: Both harder as you move up. Can play every game on both in a season.
There both very similar. Both lots of fun. I liked the added stuf nfl2k had. So its a tough choice

4-0 out of 5 stars Hike the damn ball
I have enjoyed playing this game alot. Excellent graphics, fun gameplay. It may not be the most realistic nfl game out there but it is alot of fun. I played nfl 2k on the dreamcast and found it very playable. This has the same level of playability with better graphics. It is well worth the money to buy. Unless you have Madden. Both games are good and I enjoyed playing them both, but you probobly do not need to buy both games.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
Would you like to play this game?..ok then just keep hitting the x button.

I dont understand these "actually play if you want to" games, where playing is optional. you can just sit there and let the game do all the work: THIS IS SO BAD. you can just put the controller down and let the game play by itself (except oh yeah, press the x button to start the play) no other genre of game could get away with this. these games are horrible.

Having trouble winning? ok just change the difficulty RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A GAME. Having trouble kicking field goals? ok, just switch to another player besides the kicker and let the computer do it. Having trouble running? then just dont touch the controller and let the computer do it. dont want to pick a play..ok, just let the computer do it

Want to take a team through a season? sure but at the superbowl play another team...makes playing the game feel pointless. you should be locked into a team, and you should be forced to actually PLAY the game.

manual is very very poor: advanced line moves...whats that? the manual doesn't say, I had to look it up online. commentary is sloppy. I sacked the qb with the same player 5 times and each time they said "first sack of the game"...also, the simple act of trying to use the same player each time is annoying.

I hate this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Madden 2002 move over Here is the real NFL gameNFL 2K2!!!!
NFL 2K2 is really the best game ever made. The spinning and jukeing when running the ball is really good. The franchise mode is awsome. After your first season you can draft college kids. You can also fire people, or change how much they get paid. You can create people which is the best! You can pick from how much you weigh to what shoes you wear. Also from how hard you you catch?throw to how well you break a tackle. You can also create a team. You can put created players on it or even make your own all-star team by taking people on other teams and putting them on your team. You can pick the name, logo, stadium, and players on it.You can also pick what positions they are.You can also change your teams uniform to historic or present. You can play with up to 8 people which is so much fun.(take from me i have done it) ... ESPN offers up its own NFL coverage on the occasional Sunday andThursday nights. It's not as wacky as Fox's nor as staid as CBS's--and it isn'tas prestigious as ABC's Monday Night Football--but it is a recognizablename to mainstream fans who might notice it in a field dominated by otherfootball video games. ESPN NFL Primetime doesn't outdo the other titlesin rushing and passing, but its gameplay holds its own in a crowded market, plusit has a franchise option that can't be touched.

The graphics are quite good. Although not as flashy asNFL 2K2 orMadden NFL 2002, they atleast offer a great deal of speed. All the animations are performed quickly andwith little of the slowdown that's plagued many a first-time sports gamefranchise. The result is slightly faster-than-normal gameplay that's quiteexhilarating, but makes the game somewhat more difficult to get into. It doesn'thelp that tackles are performed from a bit too far away, and too many tacklersseem capable of stretched out 5-yard leaps.

The running game is a bit frustrating at first. Basically, only the best backsin the business can gain even 2 to 3 yards per carry; the rest get stopped inthe backfield by the defense. Passing isn't much more realistic as long bombsare a bit too easy to catch, even in traffic, but that same complaint can beleveled at every football game this year.

Primetime's extensive franchise play is as deep as the competition's, butoffers a hard-core NFL fan's attention to detail when it comes to stat andscouting reports. Stats even include such real-life minutiae as a player's40-yard-dash time and how much he can bench press. Combine that with the excellentuse of ESPN's visual style and commentary from Chris "Boomer" Berman and TomJackson, and the game really does look and feel like a Sunday night broadcast. This one is recommendable to true football fans--even if they're already playingwith the competition. --Andrew S. Bub

Pros:

  • Excellent presentation and stats tracking
  • Probably the best franchise mode available
Cons:
  • The running game isn't perfect
  • Neither is the passing game

5-0 out of 5 stars If you love ESPN you'll love PrimeTime
While many game sites have given NFL Primetime 2002 a mediocre rating, I think it's a great football game.Personally, I love the ESPN style and presentation of professional sports games.I love the music, the screen overlays / score box, commentators, etc.., so this game is perfect for me.While there are some minor gameplay flaws, the pros of this game outweigh the few minor issues. The Season/Franchise mode is great, I'm already in my 2nd season w/ my Jets. The tourny mode is great, along with the practice mode and exhibition mode. You can even customize the game to start with a certain situation, like a score, or at a certain field position. In the season mode, you can even watch the games that you aren't playing, 100% ESPN style. The game play is fast and fluid, and is not choppy and laggish like NFL 2k2.The game has 5 or 6 different ESPN Music themes, including the PrimeTime theme and the themes they play during the highlight reels on NFL 2night.The menu system is spectacular, all the menus have that ESPN red line on the top of the title.Berman does great play by play, and although Tom Jackson's commentary could be a little better, it's still great announcing.NFL Primetime 2002 is a complete NFL game package that includes many great features that will keep you entertained for many hours.

4-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT
This game is a lot of fun. It's not as sim-like as Madden, but has a fast arcade-like feel. The Franchise mode is excellent.I really love the ESPN style overlays and Chris Berman is excellent. The graphics are great, with some of the best tackle animations I've ever seen.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dissappointing
This game was very dissappointing to me.First the graphics aren't very good.Secondly, the gameplay is near impossible on any mode but rookie. When you control players, it feels like they are floating, there is no such thing as momentum in this game.

There are very few moves that can be performed on defense. You either knock your guy down, get knocked down or end up locked to the other teams blocker. It seems like players are magnetically attracted to each other.

The commentary is poor. There is a lot of repetition, but that is prevalent in all sports games. However, Tom Jackson sounds like he is reading from que cards and having trouble seeing those que cards.Sometimes the commentary is irrelevant to what is going on on the field.

This game has some good features, the create a player is good and the TV style presentation is attractive. However these are not enough to save the game.I purchased this game because I have EA sports NCAA football and I wanted something different in a pro football game.Needless to say I should have stuck with Madden or NFL 2k2.Konami is going to have to make some huge improvements before I ever buy another football game that they make.

1-0 out of 5 stars Yuck.Stick with Madden or NFL2k2
One word can describe Konami's Primetime 2002 - cheesy. The graphics, although quite sharp, make one feel like they are watching Saturday morning cartoons, not the game on Sunday.Couple that with TV like captions (scoreboard, on screen updates, etc.) and you get a pretty bizarre picture.

Not to mention the announcing... Berman does a solid job in my opinion, but unfortunately Tom Jackson sounds choppy and scripted... obviously reading his lines. It may not seem like a big deal first, but after 3 or 4 games of hearing it, you're more than likely to mute the TV like I did.

Gameplay is fast and furious and not at all Tecmo-like, as some previews described it as.There is no depth whatsoever to the game, simply drop back and tap the corresponding receiver button... no route-based passing or even the ability to lob or throw a bullet, which leads to constant incomplete passes as defenders zoom to break up ridiciously thrown balls. The running game plays decently, but it becomes quickly frustrating when a defender 10-12 yards away from you flys out of nowhere and makes a spectacular, mind-boggling, not to mention quite unrealisitc tackle... again and again and again.

Altogether Primetime 2002 lacks the genuine look and feel of the real game and does nothing but provide complete annoyance to the player.Stick with Madden or NFL2k2.

2-0 out of 5 stars ESPN NFL PRIME TIME
I BELIEVE GIVING THIS SORRY GAME A 2 STAR RATING IS BEING VERY GENEROUS.IT TRULY PLAYS SORRY. THE GRAPHICS (...).NUFF SAID.WITH TECHNOLOGY NO GAME SHOULD BE THIS SORRY. ... Read more

War Jetz is the sequel, in just about every way possible, toWorld Destruction League: ThunderTanks. The only difference is instead of driving super-powerful,futuristic tanks across a colorful landscape, you're piloting super-powerful,futuristic jets. This means gawking at pretty graphics, dodging enemy fire, blowing stuff up spectacularly, and doing it all an awful lot. There's verylittle depth here, but a whole lot of good-time action fun.

War Jetz is in full 3-D, featuring a third-person, over-the-shoulder(from the rear of the plane) perspective, and it offers lots of missionscentering on basic gameplay concepts such as: capturing flags, destroying thingsafter searching for them, and Grab-the-Bux, which is World DestructionLeague's fancy term for money. Search and Destroy is the best mode, as theobjectives tend to be really interesting. San Francisco gamers in particularwill enjoy the mission where you have to destroy as many BART trains aspossible.

The controls are reminiscent of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron or Nintendo'sStar Fox series, and they work quite well with the PS2 controller. The strengthof the game is the graphics and visuals, the deep booming sound of theexplosions, the variety of craft you can fly, and the fast-paced action. Still,it will start to get old pretty quickly for most gamers.

The game features interesting power-ups such as a Vampire Ray, air-to-airmissiles, and more. The game features hilarious cutscenes and some decent, ifsilly, voice acting. Probably the only real disappointment here is the lack of aThunder Tanks-style, four-player, split-screen option. Other than that,if you've got a jones for flying around, blowing stuff up, and mindlessrepetition, then this is the game for you. --Andrew S. Bub

Pros:

  • Great visuals
  • Lots of planes and some great missions
  • Hilarious cutscenes and dialogue
Cons:
  • Lacks four-player multiplayer
  • Gets old fast

1-0 out of 5 stars REplay value? How about some INITIAL play value?
Okay, considering the makers of the destruction league series seem to put in minimal effort and time to make these games, I think I should reciprocate. The game stinks, it's a knockoff of a knockoff that's a knockoff in the vehicular destruction genre. The only thing somewhat unique is the use of planes. Anybody who says otherwise is either a lobotomy patient or a zealot of the series. The End

2-0 out of 5 stars Ok game
The game sounds interesting but it really isn't very fun. Graphics are Ok. Unless you really, really like flying around planes and blowing up don't get this game. (By the way I bought it a Costco for 15 bucks in the PS2 sale rack)

i thought that this was one of the best aerial combat games in existence. i loved it!! it was a little bad because there werent many secret planes (but the ones they had were awesome!) in my opinion the best fighter = nighthawk but dont upgrade its weapon it gets two missles but loses it homing capability but i should be talking about the game lol. it's a funny game (some of the cutscenes). heres my rating for individual things

realism 9.9
realistic sound effects 9.5
gameplay (the story) 9.9
sound 9.6
graphics (they were animated a little) 9.5
handling (how easy the controls are) 9.9 (it takes a few times of playing to get used to them tho)
overall 10.9

3-0 out of 5 stars Wrestling with planes. cool...but
But it could have been better. The idea is quite fun. You fly around different areans and blow everything up. There are very few things that can't be blown up and that is appealing. There are several different aircraft to buy and unlock which also is very appealing. The planes are easy to fly and each have good and bad points. What's bad? For starters the graphic are good. But are no where near what the PS2 could and should be doing. When Gran turismo 3 arrives I think it is going to show us some of what this system is capable of, as well as shaming the other companies for the garbage that they have been offering to us. Most games are not much more than PSX standard and that's just ripping us off. The worst part of the game by far is the missions. At first it is interesting and a little different. But many of the mission are the same. To smae, they become very repitious after a while and a short while at that. This game had a lot more potential than the game is, and as usual that's 3DO's fault. 3DO has a very long way to go before becoming a good game company. They get good ideas and then always make them fall short. This is a fun game, but i'd be very wary of buying it. This is a renter. ... Read more

This game is the best soccer game for PlayStation 2.You can control the players better than FIFA and the player movements aren't as choppy as the other soccer games.Theheaders and bicycle kicks are excellent. The defense moves like they are in a real game unlike the FIFA and ESPN soccer games.Whether you like soccer or not I recommend this game.

Ico weaves the tale of a young boy trying to escape hisimprisonment in a large, vacant castle. Along the way, he discovers anothercaptive--a beautiful princess named Yorda. Players control Ico with the goal ofescaping the castle with the princess safely in hand.

Although it looks like an adventure game and has some rudimentary actionsequences, Ico is mostly about solving puzzles. Players will run, jump, andclimb their way through the gargantuan castle as well as figure out whichobjects and environments are interactive. Yorda is very much a damsel indistress, and isn't nearly as capable as Ico. A great deal of the puzzlesrequire the player to create a safe path for Yorda, who isn't physically able toget to the places Ico can. The puzzles are quite brilliant, although a few areso tough that players will feel like ditching the princess.

Graphics, particularly the lighting effects and animations, are fantastic. Thedevelopers did a superb job of conveying the enormity and beauty of the castle. When Ico and Yorda move and interact, their actions seem totally lifelike. Theambient soundtrack and simple controls let the player focus on the tasks athand. Sony has crafted a very unique game that anyone can play. Few games are aselegant in their simplicity as this puzzler from Sony. --Raymond M.Padilla

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I -hate- MYST games...
ICO was a real treat though...this game is short on words, but is an -explosion- of ambience.Even my "X-box forever" friends were impressed with the game.(yeah, I got those "Man, just think about how good this would look on x-box" comments.*sigh*)
The next time you look for a new game to play and "everything looks the same", grab this one!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not really worth the money ..
It's a pretty decent game to play and it's well made but it just too short and has a pretty disappointing ending.

If you buy it, don't pay much for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Understated Epic of an Untold Legend
This game was originally made for the PS1 but ended up released with the PS2.A previous reviewer recommended us to "stay away from the bargain-bin price" and referenced "numerous problems" in the game.Well, if you aren't an ARPG fan, then screw it.This game has some touching elements in it reminescent of early Zeldas for gameboy, sublimely delicate graphics and movement like newer FFs, and controls like the earlier Prince of Persia.Though there are few speeches, everything is conveyed powerfully through scenery, purposeful encounters, and strong and symbolic statements. Each moment works to contribute to the final heart-tugging climax of the game with no crap in between. The only concern you might have with buying the game is the difficulty of the puzzles. They are not that hard if you use some common sense, and all those mini-goals give you a sense of satisfaction once you've solved them.As for repetitive scenery, there are a few overused wall tiles (you are, in the same castle, afterall), but each puzzle is fresh and new, taking you from a convincingly Aztec-feeling tomb, to scaling the side of a mountain, leaping perilously over dangling cogs, or negotiating a bridge in dizzying scenic heights. At certain points, it even presents you with moral choices (For those who've played, i'm referring to the pre-boss battle with horned wraiths. Didn't it make you stop and think?)ICO is the most beautifully understated piece that has ever graced my ps2, and everyone I know who's played it certainly reserves a special place in their hearts for this heart-warming tale.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the most underrated puzzle game ever
This game was released by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001...I got it as a Christmas gift in 2004.I had seen it on the shelves of numerous videogame shops, but it never really stood out to me as a game I would like to play, but boy was I wrong.I don't even like puzzle games, but this was good.It was very good.It was a short play... only about 6 and a half hours to complete, but it was well worth it.

For its time, it is excellently crafted.Absolutely stunning. The AI is simple, yet effective. The sound is little, and the little voice that is heard adds the dash of spice to the emotions of the game.It is quite a sad game...

Looking back on the graphics, as a first generation Playstation 2 game, it was absolutely beautiful. The sun glare was clean, the grass looked grassy, and tree leaves swayed in the wind. One part in particular stood out to me, and that was the Windmill. If you ever get this game (which you should...it is really cheap now), work your way to the windmill. The little pond that is next to it is absolutely amazing. The water bends the light around the ripples as Ico swims in it, and the reflection of the windmill is also there. So many games don't use reflections still, even in simple places like these. But this scene is just beautiful.

The gameplay is basic and very quiet. There is little music in the game, but this is actually a good thing. With music, the game wouldn't be as enclosed as it is.

I'm having a hard time putting into words what this game is worth.Shamefully, it was away underrated and virtually unplayed.Pick up this game and try it for yourself. It is very unique.

I don't know if you keep up with upcoming releases, but the same team that made this game is coming out with a similar title called Wanda and the Colossus.Strange title, yes?Anywho, if this game seems interesting.Play Ico first and get a feel for what you might encounter in Wanda and teh Colossus.I can assure you that you will have a good time. The team that made Ico did a fabulous job on their first game, and I know that with their upcoming title, things will only get better.

3-0 out of 5 stars A penny whistle echoing weakly under the colossal shadows
"He was born with horns. For this, they feared him. At first, he was ostracized. Then he was entombed. Then he was forgotten. Only, one day, he escaped his burial crypt. In the outside world, he found himself within a castle, and within that castle he found a peculiar girl. Her name is Yorda. His name is Ico. And the castle had no name, nor did it have an exit or an explanation of its existence...only dangers and menacing spirits."

The graphics in Ico transcend format; they exist outside of borders, beyond mere technology. They just are. You don't consider that they are PlayStation 2 graphics or that they are console graphics-you just marvel. In a world of cookie cutter and copycat game visuals, Ico is a true original. The misty, surreal, dreamlike world of Ico and Yorda is cold and beautiful in equal measure, and no game that I've seen has ever looked quite like it. There are incredible draw distances, huge sweeping, epic views over crumbling castle walls, ramparts, towers and vast valleys, cliffs, waterfalls...and more. It is breathtaking to absorb it all. The animations of the characters are vibrant and lifelike, very real--especially Ico.

The game world is cold and quiet, haunting and empty and vaguely menacing--and undeniably there, real. Music is next to nonexistent, with brief surges used at wide intervals for certain gameplay effects. The ambient sound effects-wind, birds chirping, water running, footsteps echoing hollowly, flickering torches, etc.-are vividly executed. They are completely engrossing and realistic, engulfing the player in Ico's desolate world. And Ico's voice, a child's call, only a few Japanese syllables, but so small...a penny whistle echoing weakly under the colossal shadows of the castle.

Controlling Ico and Yorda in their quest to escape the ancient castle is similar to controlling Lara Croft in one of the Tomb Raider games. And indeed, you find yourself scaling precipitous heights, pushing blocks around, leaping large crevices, pulling levers-and many other Tomb Raider staples. But you don't actually control Yorda. Instead, you guide her, call to her to make jumps, or hold her hand and keep her with you. The central theme of the game is to protect her, and you lose if the occasionally appearing shadow wraiths succeed in taking her; Ico himself cannot be hurt unless he falls an extremely long distance. But Yorda cannot go everywhere Ico can, so the standard gameplay tactic of leaving her behind, exploring off with Ico alone and finding a way for her to continue (and then swatting away at the ethereal, persistent shadow creatures with a stick or sword) repeats over and over again. The puzzles are sometimes obscure, with solutions sometimes far apart geographically and with seemingly no connection to each other. Although it's quite a short game at maybe 8 hours, I still needed a walkthrough to wade through parts of it. While Ico himself controls solidly, the camera is tricky and sometimes presents you with angles that are frustrating and counterproductive to your goal. The RPG aspects of the game are extremely light--there's no levelling up, there's no item aquisition, only rudimentary combat--and it might be more accurately called an adventure game.

Take the visuals and gameplay of Tomb Raider and the atmosphere and puzzles of MYST, shake them up with some Japanese flavor and maybe this is what you get. While the production values of Ico are unique and captivating, the gameplay is only a notch above average and the puzzle solving aspect can be frustrating at times. Still, any PS2 RPG-lite fan owes themselves a peek into Ico and Yorda's world.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not anything great..
At first, Dark Cloud is fun and everything, but it's all just repetitive dungeons and, towards the end, impossible bosses. The graphics aren't so great either. This game, in my opinion, falls into the category of "waste of money".

1-0 out of 5 stars ugh i hate this game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hate this game!!!! it is sooo boring! i haven't even finished th first level!!! the hack and slash is sort of fun though but the weapon dovelopment is totally stupid every time you hit something your sword or whatever loses a point and you have to put this powder so that it doesn't brake. and when your in a dungeon your character gets thirsty and if you don't find water in 30 seconds you die. i reckomend another game to all you rpg fans youd have to be a really stubern jack @$$ to wan't to play this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars *drools*
I LOVE this game. The only thin I don't like about it is that there are limited zones that force you to use a certain character. Make sure to level up ALL of your characters!

*note: There is one mistake in the game. The town with the Sun & Moon Temple is called Muska Laska, but the screen when you enter the town says it is Muska Racka.

5-0 out of 5 stars This will go down in history!
You have to be a real jerk to not like this game. It has smooth and good graphics, craploads of weapons, enjoyable mini-games, an awesome geomode(or whatever it's called), and lots to do and explore. The bad stuff is that the dungeon exploring starts becoming a chore after a while, the characters you get in your party don't have any real use other than puzzle-solving, the controls need work(the square button uses an item, X uses weapons, and sometimes I accedentally press square!), worst of all, it's very, very frustratingly hard. Overall, this is a must-play for anyone who likes RPGs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best realistic snowboarding game on the market
Anyone who has ever snowboarded will be dumbstruck of how real this game is.It is not like ssx, still a real fun game, where you do loops on platic ramps or snowboard in hawaii around volcanos. This is so far the only game that allows you to create a snowboarder. At first it can be really hard and frustrating but it is still really cool.Has all the reall pros and snowboard brands. For the price it is the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best PS2 snowboarding game!!!!
This is truly the best PS2 snowboarding game! It is way more realistic than SSX Tricky. You can't pull off mega flips like SSX, but that is a good thing. The graphics are good, and it is fast with no slowdown. The music is good too. Including such bands as Powerman 5000, Static-X, The Vandals, and AFI. My only complaint about this game is that grinding is so easy, thanks to Konami trying to appeal to the SSX fans. Forget SSX, BUY THIS GAME!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars ESPN x-games snowboarding: 2nd attempt.
here's an initial warning: this game isn't going to be everyone's thing. no game is, right? however, i loved this game. espn winter x-games snowboarding 2002 (quite a title, eh???) consists of, for starters, x-games mode in which you play thru the x-games as any one of 13 pro snowboarders. there are 4 x-games events to play (per character) and 2 freeride tracks to mess around on.

also included is the amazing snowboarder mode. in this section, you custom create a snowboarder, name him/her, and build a pro snowboarding career up from scratch. i mean from NOTHING. in the beginning, all your skills (yep, stat points!!!) .... it can be a little frustrating the first few contests or free runs as you try to snowboard, but this is just like real life; it takes a while to get the hang of it. each run increases your stats a little. in no time, you'll go from 180's to 720's to, yes, 2880's. that's 8 full spins. you can earn huge amounts of secret gear and buy ten times more. you get fame as well as film deals, sponsorships, passports, nicknames, and eventually an invitation to the x-games.

other features include multiplayer (sorry, i haven't played this yet), dozens of short snowboard videos, and a tutorial (very helpful to learn how to spin extra times, etc). snowboarder mode has improved GREATLY since the first game (with the cheesy orange cartoon ski lodge), as has the soundtrack (vandals, powerman 5000, etc). not the best game i've ever played, but certainly realistic, fun, extensive, and the sound (music/sound effects) and graphics are outstanding. ...
