Knowing that this title was created by a team of designers who live in the UK, I can see that they really know what they are doing when it comes to making an F1 title for the PS2.I don't think that the folks over at EA have ever seen or been to an F1 race, which shows in the game play.Sure this title has graphics that aren't as good as EA's, but the tracks do look a little better than on EA's title. If this company were to consider making a new F1 title, I think that the following should be added to the new game: 2) A tutorial on car set-up would be nice. For people new to F1, it would help explain how changing certain things on the car change the performance of the car. Keep everything else.Who needs sports cards in an F1 title.I've got them all on the EA title and it doesn't really change anything for the game.Having to pass a test just to race?Forget that too. That works for GT3, but not here.Keep the test mode on this title, it helps you learn how to set the car up.I'm glad that I gave this title another chance. ... Amazon.com Review In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, players were introduced to the manual--amove that greatly revolutionized the series' gameplay. This installmentintroduces the revert, and while it isn't as significant an addition as themanual, it does add another layer to the already deep trick system. The gamefeatures solid graphics, but a level of detail was sacrificed in order to makethe game's levels so large. There are a few frame skips and polygon clips, butthese occasions are rare and do not overshadow the stellar gameplay. Career mode is as deep as ever, with eight objective-filled levels. In thissingle-player mode, players traverse their way through some brilliantly designedcourses to achieve high scores, find the letters to the word "skate," findhidden videotapes, and interact with level-specific objects. Two players canparticipate in the five multiplayer minigames, which include king of the hill, horse, and trick attack. Up to four players can join Internet or LAN gamesthrough the use of the PS2 Network Adapter or numerous USB devices. SupportedUSB Ethernet adapters include LinkSys EtherFast USB100TX, D-Link DSB-650TX, SMCEZNET-USB 2102, and SOHOware NUB100. Supported USB modems include Zoom FaxModem2985L, Pocket NetSurfer NMT00700, MultiTech MT5634ZBA, and ActiontecUSB56012-01CW. USB keyboards are also supported, enabling players to type trash online. We tested Internet play using the LinkSys and a DSL modem; the action was verysmooth with no noticeable lag. On its own, this is a top-shelf title, butconsidering its Internet capabilities, there's no reason for fans of sports, action, and platform games not to own Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. This gamewill satisfy them all. --Raymond M. Padilla Pros: Reviews (234)

written on February 12, 2003. I received this game as a Birthday gift around Christmas, 2001. I can sit around and play my World Cup Final Phase (including the acurate team rosters for all teams from W.C.Final Phase 2002). I created Senegal, and all of its players (+ uniforms, etc...). I updated Holland, and added missing players to other national squads. Don't get me wrong. I am plenty angry at the database organizational problems I encountered (tell me which programmer I can yell at *hmph*). But, what the heck. It gave me something to problem-solve! And the end result is: Football Playing Bliss! I have developed everything I want. For the record: FIFA 2003 doesn't even have a creation center and is not able to edit players, neither! FIFA 2002 is my adored game of choice for Football. (I also have "This is Football 2002", "FIFA 2003" and "Red Card 2002". I have played "Pro Evolution Soccer 2" on PS1 several times, I don't like it). From the reviews listed here, I've noticed that many people (who DIDN'T like fifa 2002) complained that the game is too easy. My suggestion to them is : Alter the difficulty in the options menus!... That's what the options are for! Make the referee strict! Play in the hardest mode! Damn. do it! Someone complained that the players are too small, and seem too far away. Answer: Change the camera! If you play with the ACTION camera, the players are close, and the action seems real (the faces of the players are even quite clear). Personally, I always play with the TV camera. That is my favorite (I gues it helps to have a 30 inch TV screen, as well). That's my 2 cents worth. I agree with almost everyone (in these reviews) that gave fifa 2002 4 or 5 stars.

Gunstar Heroes, for those of you unfamiliar with the title, took perhaps two hours or less to COMPLETE.That isn't just rush through without getting everything, after two hours, there isn't much left to do.Stretch Panic is simalar, except slightly longer. In Stretch Panic, you are given a small story line about a girl and her three vain sisters. Then you are given a possessed scarf and placed in the Museum of Agony, a small area from which you go to the game's 16 areas.Four of these areas are known as Ex levels, and in those levels you aquire points which you use to open doors and launch your one special attack. There is only one unique enemy in this game, and she is probably the reason the game is teen rated. The enemy is a woman who wished to have a bigger chest area, and from that wish, she grew breasts which are probably twice as large as the lady possessing them. The main parts of this game are the boss battles, of which there are twelve. Each battle is fun and unique, yet usually fairly easy once you figure out how to go about fighting it. While the battles are fun, and the action great, by the end of the game, you'll be hungry for more. After defeating and freeing the last sister, you'll get a lowsy ending which only increases any irritation toward the game's length. This game could have been fun if it lasted longer, but it did something very important for the future of platform games.Unlike many of the games out there today, Stretch Panic introduces a new concept into the gaming world: the idea of stretchability. While this game is short, perhaps another developer (Insomniac or Naughty Dog, perhaps?) can take the stretch concept and use it in their own games.I'm hoping that Treasure will take their stretch engine and sell it somewhere, so that all the unrealized potential this game had (puzzles, perhaps?) can be realized.
You have to start with the EXT levels to get points for the real battles. These levels are good for getting acquainted with the controls without any pressure. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get the hang of moving, stretching, and locking. You also accumulate points by attacking the bonita zakos (the huge breasted ones). After the first few times, though, these levels become tedious tasks of getting points, so it's probably just as well that the game is pretty much just the 12 boss battles. The main part of the game is the 12 boss battles. Each one has a unique scenario, and supposedly requires a different strategy. However, I beat half of them on the first try by simply running around attacking and dodging attacking without any clear strategy.I enjoyed the different scenarios, particularly Anne Droid V2.1 (shades of Le Petit Prince) though that one didn't require any strategy, and Cyan, which did require a little strategy. There is some mild slowdown when the screen gets busy in the EXT levels and in the final battle with Spirit. It's slightly distracting, but not enough to detract from the game. I really liked the sound. The voices and the music fit and enhance the game's atmosphere.
As long as you know what you are getting into, this game is easy to recomend, but think of it more as an "arena battle" type game than a platformer. ... Read more | |

1.Way better soundtrack. Tony Hawk didn't even have any good bands on his first game, then on his 2nd he had 3 good bands and 3 good songs, Papa Roach's "Blood Brothers", Rage Aganist the Machine's "Guerilla Radio" and Powerman 5000's "When World's Collide. Then, on his 3rd game, he had 1 good band, Alien Ant Farm, but picked their bad song, "Wish". Meanwhile, Shaun Palmer has Alien Ant Farm's "Courage" (Their best song), Powerman 5000's "Bombshell", Spineshank's "New Disease" (Which inspired me to but their CD), Papa Roach's "Dead Cell" (Their best song), and Static-X's "This is Not". Point to Shaun. 2.Easy to play. You can almost pull off a 900 just by clicking a button. And you can EASILY create a boarder. 3.He doidn't get greedy and put out 3 games!! 4.You can bonk. Bonk. Bonk. Say "bonk" with me. 5.People have really good A.I. 6.A lot more reasons I don't want to list because I'm tired of typing so now I say goodbye.

Amazon.com Review NBA 2K2 features all the teams, rosters, and, most importantly, rulechanges (like the now-legal zone defense) found in the real NBA. Player faceshave been mapped to realistic body types (complete with tattoos), so you canidentify a big man like Shaq or a speedster like Iverson without looking attheir numbers. The game takes full advantage of the graphics-rendering power ofadvanced consoles by including better texturing, lighting effects, facialanimations, and a higher polygon count to make sure all the jukes, spins, jumps, and dunks are as realistic as possible. The audio is also good, particularly theplay-by-play, which is accurate and speedy. The controls are intuitive--even for people used to the Dreamcast--especially inthe area of on-the-fly play calling. You can now use the right analog stickinstead of the digital pad, so you don't have to take your thumb off the maincontrols (left analog stick) to call a new play or change formations. Othercontrols let you quickly and fluidly box out your opponent, spin, shoot, pass, fake, and dunk. There are also eight street-ball courts, and this addition makes for an almostentirely new game. In this respect, it is the equal of the EA Sports NBA Liveseries. But NBA 2K2 surpasses EA's title with its excellent AI. This gameis challenging, satisfying, and fun in both single and multiplayer modes.--Bob Andrews Pros: Reviews (89)
It's rarely unbelievable for a game to increase its success that long BUT when it is that good, YOU WILL have to expect a month or two in order to hit the gamestore shelves! Really the time is fast, but that's the reason with NBA 2K2, with fast-paced gameplay and easy-to-grasp controls where can you find a game this good in any other store? None. I like the graphics, despite the gameplay becoming very easy to learn from and to play; they look so cool, and everything seems realistic, even the player models and faces, it really makes me feel like I'm in heaven! The sound is also amazing, with exciting crowds and slick shoes, and also high flying rim-rattling dunks, it's all inside, so what are you waiting for, go get your copy now!! Overall I like this game, it is simply the best basketball game to date; a lot of people hate these types of games just because they have no gaming taste, but me as a gamer, I love it and it is highly recommended to one of my best friends, Yusef, I give this great game five stars!
You gotta love the Street Ball option. It's fun and a lot more diverse than on NBA Live. All in all, I give this a thumbs up and definately wait for NBA 2K3 to come out because you won't be disappointed. Happy gaming!

Amazon.com Review With March Madness 2002, EA Sports brings its college basketballfranchise to the PlayStation2 for another year. But despite fidelity to thecollege game, the result is more of a thud than a bounce. The problem isn'treally the game itself. The Play Now exhibition and full-scale tournament modesare fine, and the game includes 150 teams all detailed down to players, uniforms, fight songs, cheerleaders, players, stats, and play styles. You evenhave the option of creating your own team with everything from uniforms toplayers. The problem is what's missing compared to the competition and toprevious incarnations of March Madness on the PlayStation. About 150teams, the dynasty mode, and even the season mode are MIA! Why are these keyfeatures missing? Disappointing, to say the least. At least the game plays a decent game of basketball and is true to NCAA rulesand quirks. It shares some problems--the computer crowds the lane too much--anda graphics engine with NBA Live 2002, but at least the previousrebounding problems are fixed. And the game looks great, too, even though mostof the players don't have their real faces like in the NBA version. The audio isalso excellent; the game features roughly 60 distinctive fight songs, and thecrowd roars and quiets down with the action. --Bob Andrews Pros: Reviews (63)

Amazon.com Product Description Reviews (24)
This is how I first became curious about the game, and my first time playing it, I was pretty shocked - in a pleasant way. The game uses technology called the "ghoul engine", which drives the games graphical gore fest. This system allows, for all sorts of realistic damage to be done to objects and characters in the game. Nasty looking bullet holes, complete with powder burns, apear where you shoot a bad guy. Blood is plentiful in the game. And of course shoot someone enough times at a joint (or with a high caliber weapon) and you will dismember them. This is actually pretty fun, though somewhat disturbing. Shooting someone in the stomache with a shotgun will even cause intestines to spill out, and shooting someone in the face causes a REALLY nasty mess. While the over the top gore, is the main "feature" of the game, but otherwise the graphics look pretty good considering the year the game was made. Nothing too spectacular, but based on the quake 2 engine the game looks pretty good. Aside from dead bodies with missing legs and pieces of shattered bone potruding froom the stumps, the game has lots of other little graphical details. Bullet holes are different sizes for different weapons, and are different based on the type of surface you fire at. Sound too is pretty good, and bullets hitting metal, not only made nice looking bullet holes, but also sound pretty intense. Besides these features the game is a little lacking in plot, but then again, that's probably not why you're playing this game. The gameplay is a heck of a lot of fun, and as long as you're old enough to handle it, the gore is just a nice little commodity. The problem is the game doesnt feel very "serious" although it tries to. The story gets pretty stupid towards the end, as the end of the game is a "boss fight" with a bad guy who looks like a reject from the GI Joe cartoons. Also the realism found in the graphics is no where in the rest of the game. The selection of weapons is lacking, and the weapons are FAKE made up weapons, that are only LOOSELY based on real military arms at best. Some of the late game weapons are just plain stupid. They would have been better of staying with a gritty military persona for the game. The gameplay is good, and if you want to see lots of blood and guts you'll love this game. But you may be disapointed that the rest of the game lacks character and realism.
Not only does it look horrible but the choppy frame rate will also affect your game play. If someone is shooting at you from the upper level and you want to aim your cross- hairs up, it takes a couple of seconds too long and then you are either dead or the enemy gets away. The aiming controls can barely catch up to the target in time and this is very frustrating. Just imagine an internet game with tons of "LAG", and then you'll understand what I mean. The graphics and colors look muddy and drab (even the SNES games look better). Animation is jerky and the characters look strange when they run around shooting. SOF also had clipping problems; in some areas I spotted enemies because their arms or legs where showing through walls. Loading the game takes forever! You can go have a cup of coffee and it will still be on the loading screen! Then when SOF finally loads you'll be treated to every bad thing that a PS2 game can have wrong. The one good thing about the graphics was that it was able to keep the blood and gore from the pc version- you can still blow people's heads, arms and legs off. And I liked the fact that they included BOTS in multiplayer and you can play against them by yourself. Are the BOTS any good you ask? Well they have a tendancy to shoot you in the back very often and they seem to have better shooting accuracy than you, but they don't have any real strategy. They basically run and shoot a lot mindlessly. But the action is never exciting because of all the "LAG". The frame rate is laughably bad (like a bad joke). Playing Single player is even less fun and I got ticked off by one of the levels where you ride on a moving train. My character got stuck in the railing a couple of times and the enemy cpu got me with a lot of cheap shots. I found a few other places where my character got stuck to a door and the enemy came and blew me away. That's just bad programming. If they had done a better job of beta testing SOF, this would not happen. The controlling is not bad but it needed to be more responsive (especially when aiming!) The sound of effects are weak and unrealistic. The sound of gun fire from each weapon is very inaccurate and sound cheap. The Shotgun sound is too loud for its own good. Grenade explosions also sound weak as do machine gun fire. However, the music is pretty good as are the screams from enemies when you blow them away. In conclusion SOF is plagued by everything that could go wrong in a game of this type and you are better off buying something else. I feel sorry for the people that buy this game and then they can't get their money back. So I hope they listen to me when I say this: Soldier of Fortune for the PS2 is total junk. I suggest many other first person shooter games that are much better and enjoyable than SOF. Games like: "Timesplitters 1 and 2", "Medal of Honor", "Red Faction 1 and 2" "James Bond Nightfire". Those games will leave Soldier of Fortune in the dust bin- where it rightfully belongs!

Also, a tip for anyone who plays/will play this game, try searching the chests to find the maps to other continents. While searching, put everything into leadership and then when you eventually get to the 4th continent, find the dragons and with less than 10 dragons you can conquer the first 2 continents easily and you can fly with the triangle button. If you have played this game for a short while and got sick of it, give it another try, if you never played it but are interested, you might want to rent it first.

Amazon.com Review That's not to say the game is perfect, as witnessed by graphics that could stilluse some work to fully exploit the PS2's capabilities. Especially lacking arethe dugout and crowd animations that at times resemble lifeless gray masses.Certain stadium skylines also lack depth, particularly in night games (tallbuildings behind the stadiums look a lot like their blocky counterparts fromlast year's version). But these are minor gripes when all is said and done. Allthe vitals are still there: season, playoff, and exhibition modes (no franchisemode yet, however); home run derby; batting practice; and, new this year, thetwo-on-two showdown that features a one-inning battle pitting pitcher againstbatter. And while the game's rosters are nowhere near what they'll be on openingday, the create and edit player features will ensure that everybody's favoriteteam can be as accurate as the real thing. --Larry White Pros: Reviews (40)

The battles are real-time fighting, where you can control one of three characters at a time, switching to another at anytime during the game is also possible. You buy weapons for better attacks and attributes, armor for defense and resistance to thunder, fire, earth, and ice elements, legs, helmets and accesaries, to mix and match your strengths and weaknesses. A cool thing about the armor system is that when you buy and equip new items, your styles change, and you look different. Each one of your 3 characters has a special magic attack called Palmira Actions. You can Trigger these anywhere if you have the proper amount of Palmira Points to exacute them. You can equip different accesaries to activate different magic. You can also perform combo attacks when you exacute all 3 palmira actions at the proper time on an enemy, to recieve palmira crystals, used to upgrade your weapons and other armor to make your character stronger. (since you don't level up in this game, it is essential that you recieve these crystals to grow more powerful) You can recieve 3 colored crystals, blue, yellow, and red, with red being the most useful. Use them wisely....! The puzzles in this game are X-TREMELY DIFFICULT!! You will have many problems with correcting them. But pay attention to clues around your area, so you can complete the puzzles. Note that sometimes you will need to be equiped with a certain item to pass a puzzle.....! The voice acting in this game is also a nice touch. The beautiful landscapes are sometimes breathtaking! The unique gameplay is awsome, characters too, mix'n'match outfits and almost real enviornments, this game is a real cool pic for RPGamers around. Just watch out for the puzzles, but sides that, this game is a must buy!!
The biggest change is the new three-character party. You can switch between Darius, Ruyan, and Faena, which is cool. What isn't cool is those three characters share a single lifebar. When one gets hurt, the other two get hurt. This makes no sense whatsoever;you get all the aggravations of a single-character system with none of the benefits a party system should provide. What's the point? To be fair, the special combo attacks all three characters can perform together are kinda cool, since they are very damaging. However, the execution is so poor as to make it a moot point. The environments aren't very detailed and the combat is quite simplistic.I expect better crafted environments for the PS2, this looks like a first-generation game. The "music" is the worst I've ever heard in a game.Imagine 3 different orchestras playing 3 different tunes simultaneously, that's what this "noise" sounds like! For those who liked Evergrace, this sequel probably won't disappoint. But for the rest of us, there are better RPGs out there. The story is pretty good and the puzzles are challenging. It's just that the rest of the game is so uninspired, it's more annoying than fun.I didn't really want to finish this one. It's very hard for an RPG to make me feel that way.RPGs are my favorite genre.
Graphics-8: pretty great graphics when you look close, the rough edges and sharp textures that plagued evergrace are no more, rather anime-esque characters add Otaku value. Sound-10: the sound in this game is absolutely great, i love the voice acting and music. combat sounds sound great with clashing swords and explosions. Gameplay-9: really great gameplay, dressing up your character is one of the coolest things possible, you could change the color to your liking and you got fashion status. controling three characters is really cool, you can even use special moves of other chracters when your not even playing as them. the only glitch is Ruyan constantly says Feana's name way to many times, and Darius loves the word damn, every sentence, " Hey Ruyan, Damn, Damn Damn Damn!!! Faeana guess what, Damn Damn Damn Damn!!!!". Control-10: chracters may be switched on the fly and dishing out punishment to enemies is a breeze. also, the ... power bar is gone from evergrace, now however your chracters share life which is a royal pain in the .... one last word about it, well two words. you buy items from an elephant (oh my cool!!!!) and awsome fight scenes!!! ... Amazon.com Review Silpheed: The Lost Planet offers the same method of play. You still can'tmove up and down, though some enemies may shoot at you from above or below. Likemost shooters, the game isn't about exploration and navigation, but rather it'sall about dexterity and shooting as rapidly as your fingers will allow. In this game you pilot a SA-77 craft that has gun slots on its left and right. You can put a different weapon on each side of the ship, and you can even firethem both simultaneously. You start off with two versions of the Vulcan cannon. As you make your way through the game, you will earn more weapons. The storyline involves an alien race appearing just outside a planet colonizedby humans. The aliens have taken over, and the retreating humans are followedback to our solar system by the pesky creatures. The entire story is toldthrough wonderful full-motion video sequences, which, for some reason, were notdone in the higher-resolution DVD format. The sound effects are your standard shooter fare, so they're good. The music isa letdown, though. Nostalgic Sega fans will recognize the previous game's themein one of the FMV sequences, but other than that, the music is completelyforgettable. The main problem with Silpheed is that it looks great, but it only playsand feels like an average shooter from an older game system. Nothing about thegameplay will get your adrenaline pumping--and that's exactly what a goodshooter is supposed to do. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Reviews (13)
The reason behind the allure of this game isn't because its some new thing being tried out on the screen. In fact, its been done many a time before and the storyline isn't all that unique. Its simply Nintendo's Lifeforce on steroids, with everything working like a head-on fighter would. You, of course, have the only ship fighting for your side of a struggle - when you could at least use a little back-up, a weapon on each side that lets you choose different weapon option (mostly worthless), and there are lots of enemies. Everything from the little ships that fly in heavy numbers to smallest, faster ships to mini-bosses and then stage bosses. Within those struggles the sky fills with lots of shells, allowing you to show how skilled you are by dodging and dancing through these, knowing that you have a limited bit of shielding and are the only hope for you people. Interestingly attached to this is a way to approach points and extra lives, with a bonus given to you for killing something closer to you ship. Also, the more bonuses, the faster the other weapons come up. I'd played some games that have ways to garner quickly through bonuses, but in Slipheed all things have a modifier on them. The multipliers go as high as sixteen times the points, feeding your lives fast, but facing the big point carriers - the bosses - head on is a challenge. So, it never really gets tiring. The only problem I really had with was the weapons. For anyone that's into this type of shooter, with a ship that you fly "up" the television screen and with combat remnant of Lifeforce of Gradius, then this is a must have. I had honestly written this release off, thinking it to be just another game from an already dead group of games, but I bought it anyway. And then, playing it, I noticed how wrong I really was. The missions, the creative bosses, the backgrounds meshing it all together, it's a sight to see and a challenge to beat. If you've never tried a game like this before, I would have to say that playing it will be fun because your skills will impress you. At first it'll be hard, dodging multiple shots, but soon you'll notice you're good, then better, and finally showing off for your friends amidst a stunning array of action. And what's the life of the party without you?
I like Working Designs. The attention they give to their projects rivals motion picture distributors, their localizations often resembling "director's cuts" and "Special Editions" of films. Even if the game is a rather obscure little pet project (Sihlouette Mirage) or a grand-scale epic (Lunar), Working Designs always wants to give their games that little bit of special treatment. Here, in addition to the chrome-glossy packaging, we are treated to "Translator's Notes," outlining the Silpheed History. It really gives you an appreciation for what went into developing the game. It is almost enough, in fact, to make you ignore the fact that, on the whole, Silpheed is not a great game. The weapons are dull by comparison to any other game in the genre (My all-time favorite is Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth for N64), and the story is really rather boring; its attempt at creating an epic political/war drama falls flat on its face. Anyway, as for the gameplay itself (which is all these games really seem to offer anyway): The graphics are first rate, easily leaving all others in its dust. The game models are fantastic and amazingly detailed, worthy of Playstation 2. PSOne Gradius fans need not worry about gritty, pixelated textures, and N64 Star Soldier fans need not worry about smoothed-over, washed out ones. There may a little bit of slowdown here and there, but it is not enough to be frustrating or even annoying really (it is normally during explosions, which actually helps to give the game a more cinematic feel.) The level designs are in league with Star Soldier (the notes tell of how the backgrounds were originally pre-rendered streaming videos) making you not feel as though you are simply moving a cursor over an eye-candy-laden screen, and the learning curve is just challenging enough to not be discouraging.
I give this game five stars because its a refreshing look at a genre that doesn't get as much attention as it used to, compared with all of the simulation, shoot-everything games that seem to abound in today's market.Makes you feel like your in an arcade again, and the graphics are fabulous.
Don't be fooled by the casual gamer who claims this is just "Galaga".That is simply a dismissive comment borne of ignorance. This shooter offers a choice of nine weapons (earned with good scores), over several beautiful stages, with immense bosses.Also--while keeping shooter gameplay intact--it offers short, superb storyline CGI's between stages.Even in the middle of the action, you'll hear your fellow pilots chatter in relevant manner to the story. The only knock on Silpheed is that the first couple of levels are a little slow-moving.On the other hand, once you get to Level 4's boss, EVERYONE will be seriously challenged.Indeed, I very much doubt some of these reviewers even came close to the ending. Enjoy.

Also, vast improvements have been made in the game as well. It's a lot easier to hit alley oops now unlike 2001 where the ball would go 10' above the intended player's head. The annouce team is less annoying and they use a lot of player's nicknames (ex: Kevin Garnett is called KG and Michael Olawakhandi is called the Candy Man). Rebounding is no longer impossible! That was such a problem in 2001 (unless you actually had a decent rebounder or you made one). And now the computer actually plays against you unlike in the past all you had to do was head fake until they jumped and then you could just blow them outta the water. And of course Michael Jordan that is playable on a Season or Franchise mode. There were some drawbacks too. The game got a little slower in pace. Not by much but you can tell that it got a little slower. Also, when you trade for players, make sure that you check each player on your team because I noticed that the computer no longer gives your new player a new number. Thank goodness I noticed that because at one point, I had 3 Number 21's on my team. Another thing that I liked better was that actual still pictures were used for each player (ex Player of the Game) and now the computerized image is substituted for that. I still think that it's a great game but if you're looking for a faster pace, more challenging game, check out NBA 2K2 or NBA 2K3 because you'll be surprised how challenging those 2 are. Either way it goes, you'll be picking a quality NBA game.

Amazon.com Review Boasting more than 48 channels and 10,000 samples that vary in genre--includingrock--MTVMG 2 is a small recording studio on a disc. You can either pastethe samples together or alter them somewhat for creating more original sounds.Sadly, mouse support, which could have made navigating the many screens andmenus less painful, is sorely lacking. Many of the instrumental samples we heardsounded quite sharp; however, the vocals were universally awful. Thevideo-creation tool is a cute feature for making forgettable psychedelic light shows. If you're serious about creating music, you must purchase the optional USBsampler accessory, which allows input from most audio sources into your songs. While the sequel does feature some much-needed improvements over the originalprogram, MTVMG 2 hasn't evolved enough from its predecessor to get asolid recommendation. Still, it's the only one of its kind for a video gameconsole, and we like that even musical laymen can use it to make surprisinglydecent tunes. --Mark Brooks Pros: Reviews (20)
The vocal samples are only good for Trance songs, but if you want to make rap or rock songs, your going to need the adapter that lets you insert your own vocals and other music (I still need to get it, if it's still available). This game will consume a lot of your time, because it is somewhat difficult to make an original piece. An original piece that sounds GOOD. I have owned the game for about 4 months, and I am still making 1 song as original and good as I can. This game is also not very hard to learn. I started without reading the instruction booklet first, and I found the game easy to navigate. All you really need for this game is a love of making music and a lot of creativity. Also, a lot of free time if your serious about making good, original music.

Amazon.com Product Description With an ultra-fast new rendering engine from the team behind Madden NFL 2001, the game allows for a huge number of cars on the track running at a persistent 60 frames per second under all conditions, including multiplayer. This allows more detail than ever before, including heat shimmer, rich depth of field, and car hoods that vibrate from air friction. All 23 tracks are represented, including the newest NASCAR speedways, every NASCAR star, rookie, and veteran, and all four car manufacturers, including Dodge. Go head-to-head with Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Bill Elliot, Michael Waltrip, and Steve Park at Daytona, Rockingham, Vegas, or any other track on the circuit. You can now race for the championship over multiple seasons. Choose a manufacturer, paint your car, and then earn offers and decals from new sponsors based on your performance. Use your race winnings to equip your crew and vehicle, increasing horsepower, handling, and pit crew performance. You can even earn the right to race for an existing NASCAR team. As you race through multiple seasons, new drivers will come on to the scene while others retire. New levels of realism let cars dent and crumple as they collide, and auto body parts fly off or drag on the track to leave a trail of sparks. Other damage effects include tire donuts on body panels, tire smoke, and oil fires. Reviews (38)
Dont let the shiny graphics fool you, it is not realistic. You cannot spin out no matter how hard you try. The AI is stupid, and the carreer mode bites. It is very fun to play, but not the sim i was looking for. I think Thunder 2003 will be a lot better.

1. The graphics: The players are sharper, the ice is thicker. The fans actually move in 3D! But overall, not to great. The puck is way too big, and the overall graphics just aren't to improved. This game had great graphics, but so did previous versions. 2. The options: HORRIBLE. No create a team, no new features. And the biggest thing, no FRANCHISE mode! That was about as dumb as having no franchise mode in NBA Live 2001. I am seriously disapointed by the options in this game. Nothing new whatsoever! 3. The overall depth: After your first season, this game will probably get pretty boring. More new features and better graphics is what this game needs. I hope EA changed things in 2003 edition. Oops, too bad! They did the same thing. Until they finally add some sort of franchise and stuff like that, EA's NHL series will continue, for me, to be a renter, not a buyer. Rent before u buy, then make your decision. Just a warning. Hope this helped, and I expect a lot more from the great company that is EA. Thx!
But what kind of peeved me were some glitches and things that took too much time to do. First, in my program you couldn't access the instant replays you saved--the program would shut off...In the create player section, the face cannot be transferred without wasting any of your time. Also, the so called 'Dittie Importer', where you can put your own tunes on the game, is virtually impossible to access. These small nuances can be fixed yes, but I don't want to spend a few hours wasting my time downloading a patch or searching through various help sites. It would be much more convienant if EA offered a product free of any glitches (they do that most likely so you will by the all new NHL 2003), so I would be more satisfied with the product.

Amazon.com Review Asmentioned earlier, the gameplay is identical to Madden's. It has a highdegree of realism that purists will enjoy, but fans of faster, arcade-stylegames might not care for. This is one of the few games that uses every button onthe PlayStation2 controller--casual gamers might be intimidated by the complexcontrols. Also like Madden, there are a number of unstoppable plays thatcan nullify any defense. From a technical standpoint, this game doesn't offerenough improvements to warrant its purchase if you already own Madden. However, if you don't own Madden or love college football, this is thegame to buy. --Raymond M.
