You can play as either team, the monstars (which are not very good, and they can't do special dunks) or the tune squad (which are a lot better, and they do real cool dunks). In between each period you can play mini games, some are good and some are bad, but they're good to have for a little more fun and they can make you faster, stronger or better at rebounds which is even better. Besides that you can play the single player game there is another option called intergalactic tournament, where 2 players can vs each other. This is probably the best feature of the game, which is great fun. It is 2-dimensional but i think it is better like that. There is one last thing, you can do some real cool dunks with the toon squad. Overall i give it 9 out of 10! P.S the reason i gave it 9 and not 10 is because there should be more things to do, but it's still great!
P.S. You definitely won't regret buying this game. ... Read more

Editorial Review After choosing from a selection of characters (each with varying strengths), you can traverse four different courses using a futuristic all-terrain cycle. The well-designed tracks will challenge even veterans of the earlier Jet Moto titles. You will feel the cycle slipping on the ice of the Khumbu Icefall and develop a lump in your stomach as you jump over Devil's Canyon. On the down side, close-up views are difficult to manage, as the field of vision can easily be lost. This is especially a problem in the two-player, split-screen view. While some gamers may grow tired of this game fairly quickly, there is enough meat here to keep racing fans interested until the courses are mastered. Learning the subtleties of each course can prepare hard-core racers for the game's more advanced seasonal competitions and racing circuits. --Sal Barcia Pros: Reviews (11)
I also noticed that, just like with the first2 JMs, two player mode really is awful. No matter which way the screen issplit, you practically have tunnel vision and is can be very dizzying(andimpossible).Well, just a thought. ... Read more

Editorial Review The menu screens feature clanging guitars and jolting graphics that putyou in the mood for adrenaline-rushing action. Once you hit the slope, you'll immediately encounter high-speed rough-and-tumble racingfeaturing huge jumps and varied terrain. From riverbeds to steep cityroads, No Fear Downhill Mountain Bike Racing is filled withchallenging race environments. While the graphics aren't as crisp asthey could be, the speed is certainly here, and when players switch toa behind-the-handlebars viewpoint they'll know what it's like to treadthe thin line between fear and control. Six riders are available, each flaunting personality and differentstrengths. Upgrades such as lighter frames or better tires are awardedafter beating three separate opponents on each track. A strength meter decreases after holding the pedal button down for longperiods of time. Players will learn to let the bike coast on downhillsegments, supplying the riders with bursts of strength for pedaling onflat or uphill segments. This strategy, mixed with the visceral thrillof racing, makes No Fear Downhill Mountain Bike Racing anexhilarating experience. --Jeff Young Pros: Cons: Reviews (5)

Amazon.com Review In terms of playability, EA Sports has added some nice new features. Players arerewarded with collectable in-game Madden Cards by performing certain tasks, which can be used to unlock secret game codes, players, stadiums, and legendaryNFL teams. Also, you can trade those cards with friends using the PlayStationmemory card. Enhancing the replayability of Madden NFL 2001 is a newtwo-minute drill feature that allows up to 10 players to compete for the highestscore. The game does have a couple of trouble areas. The CPU play isn't all thatsynched with the gameplay, resulting in some very strange calls and plays. JohnMadden's commentary is stocked with only a few phrases, which are used adnauseam. While not perfect, the sound effects and crowd noises are stillpreferable to the whiny blips of the N64 version. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Reviews (45)

Editorial Review Gameplay varies considerably from the original game. While your goal is to still to shoot and survive, there are now six worlds and 30 levels to conquer. Retro gaming purists may scoff at the colorful new environments, which have replaced the generic black background of the original game. However, the 3-D game design now allows for dangerous enemies to creep up from any angle (which they often do). Fortunately, the controls have also been updated to allow you to strategically jump over approaching enemies. --Brett Atwood Pros: Reviews (5)
As my eyes met the screen, I viewed the most boring ... color-textures I have ever seen in a video game. A dorky little 7 year old, with way too large glasses and freaky haircut, who was the chosen one to rid the world of the centipedes. Not much of a storyline; it was more amusing to play Centipede without a story in the arcade. And like I said, the graphics were terrible. All was blocky, untextured and really showed proof that it was carelessly animated by a group of amateurs. Getting past the horrible graphics and boring storyline, lets move on to the term they call 'sound' in the game. It has to be a cold day in hell when squeaky, toneless, flarvorless bits of crunchy tunes and smushed talking has to be looked at as sound. Besides the crunched up sound, the boring gameplay consists of rescuing tiny pipsqueaks and 'protecting' their houses from the jumping spiders (which also look and sound incredibly [weak]). Parts of the game also consist of driving around aimlessly, so do yourself and your money a favor...don't waste a penny on this game.
The only saving grace is that this hasa decent version of the classic Centipede arcade version from the early1980's. This is still very primitive video game fun, if you liked playingit back then. If you buy this, understand that only the classic versionwill be any fun. The new version is very sluggish and low-tech looking fora 3-D game.

We also named some of the different kinds of blocks you see in the game- for instance, melted jellybean, ice cream (or whipped cream), sick (or icky), and ice cube. If you like this game, you'll also love Spin Jam. We bought these two games at the same time, having rented them many times before. I was so happy to find them on the internet!
The game goes like this:You start out at the top of an endless supply of multi-colored bricks--kinda like standing at the top of a filled Tetris screen.Your objective is to drill down as far as possible without getting crushed by the falling bricks above you.Your drill destroys one brick at a time (either below, to the right, to the left, or above you).If there are unsupported bricks above the one you destroyed, those will fall.Bricks of the same color, in goups of four or more, will evaporate, and unsupported bricks above those will fall. This is what can result in some satisfying, or fatal, chain reactions. All of this is complicated by the fact that you have to keep finding air capsules to breath as you descend....if you run out of air, you are dead. A critical shortcoming is the lack of a two-player option.A competitive version would have added to the value of this game.Perhaps they are saving that for the sequel. For great puzzle gameplay with a higher addiction level, I recommend Geom Cube and the Bust-A-Move puzzle games (both of which have great 2-player options). If you already have these, then Mr. Driller isn't a bad choice at all.

Amazon.com Review Originally released in Japan in 1998, Gundam Battle Assault definitelyreeks a bit upon its stateside arrival two years later. While the graphics andsound are certainly colorful and mostly faithful to the animated shows, they areunremarkable at best, and, compared to more recent games in the fighting genre, this title is about as bare bones as they come in terms of features, options, and extras. Only two modes of play are available: the requisite two-playerversus mode, and a one-player story mode that follows a poorly scripted plotsure to confound Gundam saga newbies and irritate veteran fans with itsillogical absurdity. --Joe Hon Pros: Reviews (49)

Editorial Review Depending on the size of your catch, battles with bass can last 20minutes or more as you raise and lower the rod, let the reel spool free, and tighten it in to bring home your catch. We recommend using anoptional fishing-rod controller for even more realism. With four sweeping lakes to tackle, players have plenty of locations tosearch for the big one. Tournament and career modes pit gamers againstcomputer fishermen as they try to catch the heaviest five bass within aset time limit. Bluegills and catfish also fill the lakes, but it's thebig bass that players will be after. --Robb Guido Pros: Reviews (7)

Amazon.com Review Basically a direct port of the incredible Nintendo 64, PC, and Dreamcastversions, the PlayStation's RayMan 2: The Great Escape has a lot goingfor it. Great gameplay, amazing visuals, and outstanding sound all combine tomake this platform title kick butt. As the Rayman 2: The Great Escapestory goes, evil mechanical pirates, led by Razorbeard, have enslaved theinhabitants of Rayman's world. You must help Rayman collect four magical masksto wake up a god who will make those pirates walk the plank. Rayman 2: The Great Escape is a lot of fun, and as you make your waythrough the adventure, you must pick up fragments of energy called "lums." Alongthe way, you will also be required to free cute characters that have been put incages and enslaved by the evil pirates. There is plenty of eye candy in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, the upbeatmusic is a joy to listen to, and the voice work is one of the best parts of thegame. The control scheme is very intuitive, which is essential for anyplatformer. It's very easy to pick up, but even the best gamer will still lovemastering the environments. Rayman 2: The Great Escape is one of the best platform games ever madefor the PlayStation. The game is challenging and addictive, and will appeal togamers of all skill levels. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Features Reviews (7)

Editorial Review Despite concerns that the presence of a single car brand would result ina lack of variety among racing options, Need for Speed: PorscheUnleashed does offer an impressive amount of diversity. Not allPorches are created alike, and the old 356 handles much differently thana newer 911.Thus, there is much potential in this all-Porscheoffering. Unfortunately, while this game has received strong critical acclaim inits PC incarnation, the PlayStation conversion contains some problems. For example, the track graphics are a bit muddy, and the cars appearfuzzier in this game. Worse still, the physics model for driving is wayoff. Surprisingly, older titles in the Need for Speed series lookand play better than this. Unless you are a Porsche nut, steer clear ofthis one. --T. There is also a "part-timer" mode where you do some wacky things with the power shovel like scooping soup, moving turtles from one swimming pool to another, and demolishing a car. Each of the 3 game types has a limited number of continues, and allows you to progress in the game without just letting you play through until you finish.I think the mix of that is about right. I have probably spent more time with this game than I have with any other this year.I originally bought this game for my 4 and 6 year old kids because they really like construction type toys and games.Controlling the shovel is way to difficult for children that age.Every single button on the controller is used for something. But I have had a blast with it. ... Editorial Review Your job is a big one: unite China under your rule. To accomplish thistask, you must sway your enemies through use of diplomacy, subterfuge, and force, all the while keeping your homelands protected and yourpeople fed. No one man could do all this, so you must delegateauthority to a variety of historical officers with varying degrees ofability. Some are suited for leading troops in battle, and some arebetter at spying. It's up to you to pick the best man for the job. The game's biggest problem is its interface, which consists of dozensof nested menus, packed with commands that are not very well describedin the thin manual. This is not a title you load up for a quick gamingfix, but one that--if it's your cup of tea--you start playing on Fridaynight and continue through Monday (after calling in sick).Unfortunately, few gamers will have the patience or resolve to overcomethe more frustrating aspects of RotTK VI. --T. ByrlBaker Pros: Features Reviews (16)
The only draw back is that battles can last only 1 month and attacking cities is kind of a bore due to lack of strategies the gamer can employ. All in all, a must own, especially if new to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms saga.
The war portion, which is the lion's share of this game, is fine.In fact, it's better than ever. But that also betrays the game's biggest fault: besides the war, there's not a lot to do.You can make general improvements to 3 categories of your city (farming, commerce, safety) but that's about the extent of interaction with your city. The rest of your options are mostly recruiting generals (hint: get as many as you can early on, as they are difficult to obtain later) amassing troops (no training though) and giving ranks to your generals. There are some limited diplomacy measures that hardly ever work, and get very tiresome (like much of this game,) and that doesn't help. So you are left to merely amass more troops than your neighbor, and enough generals to lead them.Other than that, it gets pretty... well... boring. The cut scenes are nice, the history is very rich and deep, and some minor troop enhancements make the battles a little more weighty. But we've arrived again at the problem of battle being the only redeeming quality of the game. Yes, you can have very short conversations with your generals (that are mostly pointless), you can install traps around your castles (at least it gives you something to do), and receive visitors that bear gifts and gold. But there's still something missing.Just like Kessen on PS2, this game lacks a real focus on the city-building portion, which leaves you with a great war simulator, but the vast stretches in between might very well leave you snoozing.(Kessen solved this problem by simply eliminating that pesky "city management" phase, and relying more heavily on an automatically advancing storyline.) I simply cannot give any Koei game less than 4 stars, and regardless of any negative reviews, I still would have bought this. But I can't say I was entirely satisfied, especially when one's expectations have grown over the years, only to be met with more "same old, same old." ...
