4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Game, If You Can Get Past The Choppy Animation That Is
First I'd like to say I enjoyed this game, while not as well known as the Street Fighter series the Darkstalkers series is by far more enjoyable. The cast of charactos is diverse and the animation is much like that of the Vs. series, Wacky and over the top. The downside is it's hard to appriciate on the playstation. When compared to the first darkstalkers on playstation the charactor animation actually got worse!!! It's choppy and even upgrading the speed to turbo you can still see the painfully obvious missed frames. That said it in NO WAY compares to the Sega Saturn Night Warriors (the second in the Darkstalkers series). Sure there are more charactors and some pretty backgrounds in this, but they also suffer from poor animation!! If you have a Sega Saturn just stick with Night Warriors, if not then this is the best your gonna get. It's sad how the playstation mars the graphix of 2-D fighters like this, If you can look past the playstations downfalls this is one of the most fun fighters to date.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Fighter Ever
What makes this game great is the character design! On no other 2D-fighting game will you find characters that look and feel more complete than on this game!!!

OH, and the moves are cool, too!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT Fighting Game
Oh, Capcom you are my savioir, I have Played every street fighter game, andthere Ok, but darkstalkers 3 is excellent, its like finding a diamond ina ruby mind, darkstalkers 3 is an EXCELLENT game, Buy it here on amazon, because i had to look high and low to find it

4-0 out of 5 stars GOOD GAME
it's great the only complaint is that in arcade mode you get to fight about 8 people before the boss. it's all about horror. the characters such as Victor( frankenstein) demitri( vampire) john talbain( where wolf) sasquach( big foot). a good buy just after a while it gets boring but all games get boring after a while.

5-0 out of 5 stars Darksyalkers 3
This is the best game in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!! I love it!!!! ... Read more

"Monty Haul." "Hack and Slash." If these names mean anything to you, you'll likeDiablo. The story is simple and doesn't get in the way of the action: the demon Diablo has set upshop beneath the cathedral on the edge of town, and it's your job to destroy him.

Diablo was and is one of the great PC role-playing games, and this PlayStation port holds true tothe original. You create your character--Warrior, Sorcerer, or Rogue--and take him or her up in experiencelevels as you hack your way down, level by level, to the bottom of the dungeon beneath the cathedral, where Diablo awaits. Along the way you gain a lot of cool magical artifacts, weapons, and equipment. These mystical tools define your character as much as or more than the obligatory character stats such asstrength, dexterity, and stamina.

The game's only flaws are due to its translation to the PlayStation. The controls can be difficult, especiallywith ranged weapons, and the two-player mode throws both characters on the same screen, often making itproblematic to negotiate the various rooms of any given level.

Complaints aside, Diablo is a solid hack and slash adventure game. You'd be either a fool or acoward to pass it up. --John Cocking

  • Great hack and slash action
  • Magical goodies galore
  • Classic dungeon crawl
Cons:
  • Awkward controls

5-0 out of 5 stars do u dare to open the gates to diablo
diablo is fun but let me talk to you about diablo, diablo is the devil but its always fun killing him but i got to wait wait untill june to get this game but i got all diabvlos on pc its an awsome game u get to choose your character from barbarian warrior mage and many more its an alright game dungeon does change places like i said its a fun game and i hope you buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars 25 bucks?? WORTH IT!
Ok, I kept putting off getting this game because of having the PC Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction and I don't like paying 25 bucks for PS1 games.I usually try to go 15 bucks or less for them since graphics and gameplay are kinda off by today's standards of PS2.And even though I wanted it I felt like I would play it a few minutes and be sick of the controls and graphics. It is an excellent game and it's portable on my PSOne...if you're a fan just get it.The controls are tedious and annoying for awhile but after an hour or so it isn't so bad. It took me a little over 5 hours to get my warrior to level 13---don't know if that's good or bad (don't really care, either) but it was a fun five hours.

5-0 out of 5 stars Diablo Ps1
Hack & Slash, Every time you play the game it's differen, becasue of the random dungeon design. Upgrade your character, loads of spells weapons armour, missions. You name it, it's got it. Great 2 player action as well. Brilliant!

4-0 out of 5 stars Dare to Enter...
Diablo is pretty faithfully ported over to the Playstation, however the graphics aren't as clean as in the PC version of the game. But this game is still a worthy addition to your Playstation library simply for the fact that the dungeons, characters, items, weapons, etc. hold such a diverse amount that this game can keep you occupied for weeks and weeks. The two-player option is really cool, allowing you and a friend to tackle the dungeons together. Everytime you start a new game, the dungeons "randomize", so you won't find things in the same place as you did before. Sound is on par, however if you're used to the mouse in the PC version, the controls associated with the PSX will confuse you at first. A little practice is all that's needed to master it in no time. Overall, an excellent game, worthy of addition to anyone's library of Playstation games if they're into a good old-fashioned "dungeon romp".

5-0 out of 5 stars Diablo's Quest
Join on a quest agaisn't Diablo, Lord of Destruction.
Diablo has ressurected on a small village and now you're the only that can make him die again. Go throw the dongeons and get experience, money, potions, weapons, spells,etc.. and prepare yourself to battle Diablo -I already killed him, and I can say that's no easy job.
This game shows some violence and shouldn't be played by sensible persons (+15).

This is the best game I've ever played. ... Read more

Parasite Eve tells the story of Aya Brea of the NYPD on a case involving massspontaneous human combustion, mutating animals, and the mitochondria revolution. Sound fun?Confusing? Parasite Eve is both.

It begins when Aya is attending an opera at Carnegie Hall. The soloist bursts into song and theaudience bursts into flames. Somehow, Aya is the only attendee who isn't affected. Notsurprisingly, she wants to know what's going on. This curiosity, coupled with her duties as a policeofficer, grows into a full-scale investigation.

Parasite Eve's mechanics are simple, yet elegant. From combat to level advancement, thegame runs easily and smoothly, making it ideal for someone new to role-playing games (RPGs).Experienced RPGers should still enjoy it for its brilliant storyline.

Technically speaking, the game's graphics and sound are good, but not spectacular. The full-motioncutscenes are superbly done. Parasite Eve is a good game--there's just not enough of it.While it doesn't feel crammed together, the story seems to resolve quickly. Brilliant while it lasted,Parasite Eve left me wanting more. --John Cocking

5-0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLY ORIGINAL
I have always wanted to play parasite eve because i have heard great things. When i first went through the first day, i couldn't believe it. Not only was i moved and stunned when i completed the game but i was certain that parasite eve was a gold mine. A story like no other, parasite eve is a natural in the field of originaliy and not to mention the story that goes along. An RPG Shooter will always be a great combination that squaresoft has created and i hope that there will be plenty more where that came from.

5-0 out of 5 stars Parasite Eve Rocks My World!!!
Parasite Eve is the ultimate videogame ever created. When I was younger,my dad had it and I loved it!Unfortunately,it broke 4 years ago. After going through many different plazas and videogame stores,I finally found the last copy of the game on a website(by the way,it's not eBay). This game is the 6 day story of Aya Brea,a rookie cop,age 25.(Yes,I do remember,it was the greatest game of all time.)Also, there is a Parasite Eve movie. It takes place like 2 years or more before Aya is born, and it tells about Aya's mother, who had similiar Mitochondria Cells to Eve.I am a fiend, even though people do not know how I truly loved Parasite Eve.Now you probably think I'm crazy.Oh,and if you love Parasite Eve,you'll love Tekken 1-4.Tekken 5 is comin out next week, and you'll also love Death By Degrees and Resident Evil 4.Well,thanks for reading!Bye!

5-0 out of 5 stars An RPG with very nice touches by Square!
I guess this game is sorta like Survival Horror meets RPG.The story is great, and the graphics and sound are way up there for the times!Sometimes I found the play control a bit stickey when searching areas for items, but the combat is a big improvement over the Final Fantasy turn-based system.I highly recommend this game for Resident Evil and RPG fans alike!

5-0 out of 5 stars Thought-Provoking And Nothing Short of Spectacular!
Although PS1 seems to be something of the past now, it's always good to return to it to relive classic games, especially classics that are not on PS2. Parasite Eve is one of those rare finds where no matter how old it is or how many times you play it, it's as good as it was the first time.
Based on a popular Japanese novel (under the same name), Parasite Eve stars a young female cop named Aya Brea, whom, after witnessing a chaotic senario at an opera, realizes the existance of "Eve" who plans on "freeing the mitochondria's true powers." Aya soon gets entangled in the horrific adventure as she defends New York City from the approaching apocalypse.

The absolute best thing about PE is it's so intriging and thought-provoking. It makes you think, but not to the point where you're wracking your brain out, eather. The concept of the Mitochondrias may sound bizarre but in all respect gets your creative juices flowing in a plot that PE makes seem all too real. For a fictional storyline, I haven't seen such a realistic-fictional plot like this in a long time!

Pace is steady and smooth. Some parts will be more action-packed than others, but everything's balanced off very well. Music is brilliant and I find myself watching the opening all the time. Visuals are breath-taking, considering it's age. The field/battle graphics aren't worth a full five stars (maybe 4) but the cinematic scenes are, and it doesn't take you long to forget this is a game. You'll begin to think it's an actual movie. It's not unbearably long, either, so things are tight, cut to the chase, and leave you satisfied, yet wanting more. The characters too, are well-developed as far as depth.

Overall, Parasite Eve is one of those rare classics that are worth going back to. You definately don't get the privlege of playing a game like this every day. If you're a fan of Sci-Fi, horror, or action-genres, PE's for you. Truely amazing!

5-0 out of 5 stars great sequl even if u have not played the first
i have not played thefirst pe i bet its a great game and this one is too the gameplay is awsome the storyline can be confusing but its still good the sound is good if u have played re games this is not spooky at all lolall of this can rival a ps2 xbox or gamecube game thats what i think its awsome its a must buy go get it ... If you can put up with the cutesy graphics, Grandia isone of the longest, most compelling, and most character-driven role-playinggames you'll ever spin in your PlayStation. By the time wefinished this massive quest, we really cared about the game'scharacters. (By comparison, our interest in Final Fantasy VIIwas focusing more on getting from one transition movie scene to thenext).

The main story line is standard role-playing fare. The powerful GeneralBaal has plans to unleash something of a Pandora's box on the world, and you can guess whose job it is to stop him. Grandia providesa world packed with colorful characters who are fun to talk to, and theunconventional combat system lets players pick and choose their fights. The characters in your party grow, as do their magical skills andweapons, meaning there's always some new accomplishment just around thecorner that keeps players adventuring long into the night. Role-playingfans should be overjoyed that this conversion from the Sega Saturnclassic was made, as it provides weeks of solid adventuring that neverbecomes a chore. --T. Byrl Baker

5-0 out of 5 stars Reminiscent of a lost childhood
I am an RPG player to the core. I only play RPG's and I tend to randomly pick them off the shelf at game stores and buy them. I have played and seen my fair share of depressingly bad RPG's.
This is how I happened to come across Grandia in my younger years. I instantly fell in love with the game. I do not look for graphics in a game (although good graphics are a plus), so this game was perfect for me. The story was decidely lack of some really new ideas, and the battles could be teadious. I enjoyed the humour of the game. Even when faced with grave danger Justin is calm and cool, at least he tries to be, just like any younger teenage boy would be.
The battle system was easy to use, and understand. Plus, the leveling up of your weapons and magic added a little twist to getting stronger.
I would definitly advice younger teenage boys to play this game if they wish to play a fun and interesting RPG. The story is easy to understand, the fighting is smooth yet challanging, and the love is to a minimum (which any teenage boy would love, no pun intended).
So, take a chance and play the game. Have fun, and if you don't like it then you don't, but if you do. Well if you like it then you have a game to play when you get really bored.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Theme of Adventure
I heard some many things about the original Grandia that I had to get a copy. Since it was the beginning of the series, I just had to see what started it all. I was impressed with this one despite it being really old. All three of the Grandias emphasize something grand in there stories:

Grandia 2: Story
Grandia Ex: Battle
Grandia 1: Adventure

This game has one of the most original themes I've ever known. This game is all about adventure and the places you visit come from a long list of destinations. The game itself started the unique IP gauge battle system which had the most unique way of learning moves and spells: you have to a certain numerical level to get a new technique. Some moves and magic have two or three required values, making this one interactive RPG that will mostly emphasize training. Once you get a new move, using it or its related statistic increases its power level and activation speed. Also, when a weapon or spell type levels up, you get a boost in the related parameter (for example: if Justin levels up his staff, he gets a bonus of 2 HP added on to his max total as well as 1 point more onto his Vitality). Not a bad system at all, a bit reminiscent of Saga Frontier 2's numerical value Arts system. Game Arts should have kept this on for the other two games. Maybe they might bring it back for the third one.

The music is a definite highlight of this game, considering the great Noriyuki Iwadare composed it. His town and battle themes are amazing, especially Disc 2's main battle theme (my favorite battle theme of all time). There are entertaining and sad themes too and a romantic one for all of us who want something a little heartfelt. The voice acting isn't really as bad as everyone says. Justin and Sue are pretty much right on the dot with their ages (14 and 8) while Guido's semi-Italian speech is really cute. Milda's southern girl accent is nice and burly and Rapp definitely sounds like a kid who has no manners at all.

The story seems a little closely related to Grandia Ex in terms of the Grandia world having elemental spirits residing in it as well as the story of an ancient civilization where man tasted the paradise of supreme knowledge. Not bad at all.

The game spans two discs and has three sidequests of great difficulty on the second disc. Unfortunately, they are very easy to miss and have some sweet rewards inside. Plus, after a certain point, you won't be able to go back and do them, so pay attention on the second disc.

The flaw with this game is that is clearly not meant for the PS2 (because of the constant data flow during battles and dungeons). If you still own a PS1, it will save you all the frustration of infrequent and unwelcome freezes (especially if you haven't saved in a while). Also, the music tracks on this Grandia are cut somewhat in comparison to the Saturn version, which has them all, so you might want to hunt down the OST (which is even rarer than the game these days). All and all, a great beginning game for a hopefully long running series in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars this is a great game
it is a great game it's a fun and a long gameand if u think it's easy you think wrong i av completed the game three time and am not even bored and am doing it all over agen i wud by this games

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple Clean Fun With a Price
Grandia is simply a gem.The cast of characters are a little predictable, but definitely distinct and unique from one another. It is a decent port from the Dreamcast, but I have seen better.
+ Level Up System:
You level up just like any other RPG with experience points after each battle. However, your weapon level up upon their usage. Each character can use up to three different weapons.Upon leveling up a weapon, something is leveled up such as HP, Vitality, Strength ect. This is the same for magic.Magic is first aquired by finding Mana Eggs and using them to buy magic.Afterwards, the more you use a certain magic, (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind) you level it up, giving you more skills. This makes leveling up a lot more fun, and even adds to the battles as you need to use certain magics to aquire new skill.

+Battle System
This is one of the best types of Battle System.First of all, it is a mixture of active time and turn base battle.Every enemy shares the same Active Time Bar.Once a character reaches a certain point, you have all the time you need to select your attack. Not only that, but certain attacks can affect the active time greatly, sending the enemy, (or your characters) backwards in the active time bar. OH!And did I mention there are NO random battles. The enemies run around in the screen with you, and you see them before you come in contact.Once defeated they disappear.Come close enough to them, and they will chase you though.

+Characters
There are a few characters that join and leave the party. However, there are two that stay throughout the entire game, (Justin and Feena). Each character has their own history, personality, and special movies. This still does not make for good character development though. They are highly predictable. The voice acting and even dialog script is laughable.Such phrases such as; "100,000,000 DEGREES!TAKE THAT!" and "OH WIND, TWIST LIKE A TORNADO!" seems a little cheesy for me during battle.

+Graphics:
The graphics are decent, but there's nothing special about them. The world is in 3D and the camera can be rotated.

+Story:
The story seems very cliche to me.A young adventurer named Justin wants to find new quests for himself. He's a troublemaker and later finds himself on the journey of a lifetime. He meets up with many new people and eventually realizes only he (with the help of his friends) can save the world. It is not very unique or at all intriguing enough, but many of the small side stories is what makes it interesting.

+Overall:
This is a great game! It's fun and well worth your money. It claims to give over a hundred hours of gameplay, but I beat it in 47 hours.Though the character and stories are weak, the gameplay is not.Grandia II is just as good, and with the hopes of another Grandia to follow, things should only improve.

Pros:
Great system for leveling up magic/skills
Fun battle system!
Good length for a game

Cons:
Laughable dialog and voice acting
Weaker story / cliche / cheesy at times
Very linear

5-0 out of 5 stars ^-^
Okay for starters.I am offical a member of the 1 member ABBA (anti Brain Bat Association). If you have played this game, found the optional dungeon, fought those little buggers at a lower level, you know why.(BABOOM)

Sorry.

The game is cool.Graphics are nice (not the best but better than some). The music is excellent. The voice acting is skippy but it works. The magic system can be difficult to figure out in the beggining and hard to level, but hey ^-^ there are places to level them without cheat codes.[For water, try standing in the green water at the tower and heal yourself. It does work, though it does take a few hours for each character--recommending Feena to level 99 water/wind.]

I love the game overall despite the bad voice acting.Nothing tops the original, I suppose.Oh, and who can ever pass up having their final boss fight inside of a coach-roach? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!!!!
I didn't think it was all that great at first because of the poor english voice actings, but once you really get into the game, it's no problem at all! The small faults wouldn't affect th game-play too deeply, and after all, fortunately, the voice acting gets better as you advance in the game. The voices do match the characters well, although.

Anyways, like I said, don't let the voices get to you, after all, it's an honest to goodness, excellent game!!! It's one of the most memorial ones I've played, even though I've been through many rpgs. Once you've completed the game, it'll have you thinking, "Why does it have to end!" Lol.

The main plot is quite alright, although it wasn't one of the strong points of this game. The character developement and the events that take place within the whole main plot makes up for it big time though. Although to repeat again, the main plot isn't that bad anyways.

The little morals and dialogues in the game are so touching. One of the strong points of this game.I found myself trying to stop tears when Meredy questions Reid what good memories really are. This game also brings a good point to discrimination.

The characters are simply brilliant. You get to really understand them and they're great. The character developement is great. In fact, this was what motivated me to write this review even though I'm not that sort of person, really. You'd think a 15 year old would have better things to do. But I thought I really should to put in my compliments for this game. And yeah, the characters are simply lovable.

The battle system is excellent. This game really sticks out from the rest of the rpgs how getting into battles can be also fun too, not like the others how you'd wish you could run away from all the annoying, boring battles. The voices in the battles aren't that bad, in fact, with the full awesome animation of swordsman techniques and spell casting for each character, simply excellent. The awesome battle music gets you going too.

The graphics of this game was pretty satisfactory I guess. Even though it's 2-d, it's still beautiful. I don't get what people were complaining about. After all, animes are 2-d. the backrounds have a nice, crisp look to it in my opinion.

The music wasn't that bad either. Even though the tunes weren't THAT catchy, it still has depth and feeling in it. It also has mood in it. I should know, I love music. Like Reid's hometown music, it has a homey, gentle feel to it. Oh yeah, and the battle music. Awesome. But not to be biased, I've played other rpgs too, and yeah, theirs isn't bad either. Still, the battle music for this game is GOOD.

Oh yeah, and not to forget about the mini games. They are fun. The game developers sure know what fun is. I've found myself playing Meredy's dancing thing over and over, trying to continously beat my own record. Lol.

The anime intro in this game was so cool!! It looks great. You should see it.

Anyways, I think I'm done. Ps. A very memorial game. I recommend it. Even for rpg haters. The battles system is so much better!

4-0 out of 5 stars talesofdestinty2
I think tales of destinty is a great game for playstation one. The grapics are real good. And the is good also. I like the charcters backgrounds and story line.

3-0 out of 5 stars So-So
It's not terribly good, but it's much better than the first one.I actually had something that resembled fun while playing it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best RPG Ever!
This is the absoulute best RPG I have ever played. It has beautifful graphics and loveable characters. I love the characters because they are all so uniquie and quite funny at times, you begin feeling like you know them and how they would act in different situations. The battle style is one of the games best features. No time limit, you can place the characters in the order you want, and there are some really wicked combos you can pull off. Another great thing about the game is when you leave a town or even that world to go to another, when you revisit you usually find something new. The story is basically never ending and very realistic. The only thing about the game I didn't like was that the name of the game was changed from Tales of Eternia to Tales of Destiny II when it reached the states. If you love RPG then you definatley need to get this game. I also bought the stratagey guide to go with it and it helped a lot.

4-0 out of 5 stars 32-bit Transition of Great Series
The first of Tales series, Tales of Phantasia was such revolutionary RPG for SNES/SFC, it was pity not to make in US.When they introduced the second series, Tales of Destiny, with slightly tweaked Phantasia engine, there were no doubt that turned many gamers.
This time, they got it right (well, mostly).I still can't forgive some bonehead at Namco for changing name from Eternia to Destiny II, but otherwise, this is fine RPG.
Graphic has been improved to 32-bit level without losing its uniqueness. With bit of 16-bit simpleness, it distinguishes from others.
Battle system is where this game shines.Improving its trademark single plane, full time (no timebar) battle system, battle is more enjoyable than other RPGs.While others might dismis this as simple button masher, it is not.It takes great reflex of 2-D fighting game, and bit of strategy before the battle to maximize effectiveness. For instance, assigning character's battle position, their battle method, and attack point increases your survival.
Also, it doesn't hurt to point out that the first Tales was developed by Wolf Team (from Namco), which later defected to become tri-Ace (yes, the creator of Star Ocean series). It explains the similarities.
Weakest part of this game is Music Score. They do their job, but also very forgetable.I've played more than 50 RPGs including every Final Fantasy series, Star Oceans, Chronos, Lunar, Grandias, Persona 2, Manas, Sagas, Phantasy Stars, but this is the only time I couldn't remember any tune while playing.
If you can find one (I got lucky at local store), you should give it a try. However, if you are NOT RPG fan, I wouldn't recommend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Metal Slug X
Metal Slug is one of the most popular Arcade Games made by Snk (formerly for the now deceased Neo Geo home console).

The games were ridiculously priced at $300 but now with the power of the internet and emulation, you can play these games for free.

Metal Slug X is an enhanced version of Metal Slug 2. In Metal Slug, you play as war hero fighing nazi soldier's and freeing pows, and blowing up tanks with machine guns and high bazookas!!

In this version, the game has been enhanced to include deadly Aliens from outer space!!! (Obviously borrowed from Aliens and Duke Nukem).

Tthere are 5 different sequels to Metal Slug and this a great one to that collection

4-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
Metal Slug X-Super Vehicle 001 is Nazca's third run-n'-gun platformer game in the Metal Slug Series. It was first released for arcades and the Neo-Geo in 1999, and was later put on Playstation.

In Metal Slug X, you play as soldier Marco, Tarma, Eri, or Fio fighting against Saddam lookalike Morden's army. You have a variety of power-up weapons, from the homing Enemy Chaser to the crawling Iron Lizard to the powerful Laser Rifle. When you have no weapon, you have a pea-shooter pistol, and if you shoot while close to an enemy, you use a knife or a hatchet to save ammo and for extra points. Levels have nice variety, are well drawn, and have funny little things going on in the background. Graphics are very cartoony, with unbelieveable animation. Enemies don't just robotically attack you, they run away in fear, they cook dinner, they talk with eachother, they even go to the bathroom. Bosses are huge, powerful, and exciting, not even causing any slowdown. Yes, you have infinite continues, but if you want to really beat the game and get true satisfaction, you'll have to do it on one credit.

But the highlight of the game, is the slugs. No, not garden pests, but huge war machines. There are a huge variety for you to drive, or even fly, such as the Plane Slug, the downward-firing Slugnoid, the standard tank Metal Slug, and even the Camel Slug. They each seem to have their own personality-the Metal Slug even flinches when hit!

The game itself is extremely fun and playable, and the multiplayer mode can get quite hectic. If you see it, buy it, but the Neo-Geo version is much better, as expensive as it is.

5-0 out of 5 stars Metal Slug X
In the land of me too 3D everything this game is very refreashing even for a PS2 owner. The game a very good conversion from the arcade version of the slug series. This is the type of game that you play just to enjoy the art work , as you blast your way through each level the games art and background just get better and better.Unlimited continues mean you will beat the game in one sitting but the skill and and challenge of trying to do this without the continue along with co-op 2 player will have you stomping through many times.Action , Comedy , 2D shump..

5-0 out of 5 stars Best 2-D shooter platform! Better than Contra SS
This game is amazing! The first time I played this game was at a friend's house on Sega Saturn. I remember this game from the neo geo arcade machines too. At any rate I was looking for some old school 2-D shooter platform games and picked up Contra: Shattered Soldier. Contra SS is a horrible game and I was not happy. Then I remember Metal Slug and after some online research I wanted it. I had to call 8+ gamestop till I FOUND ONE! This game is based on Metal Slug 2 with few extra twists.

The graphic is totally awesome, just like the arcade! Even for today's standard, the graphic is still very good! The hand drawn cartoon animation is unique and beautiful. This game has better graphics than Contra SS, seriously. Due to the limited memory of PS ONE, the explosions were degraded to "big pixels". This does not ruin the game in any way, the big pixel explosion blends well with the cartoon graphic.

The music is typical 16 bit, nothing impressive but still good. Each stage has its own music theme, pretty cool. The gameplay is totally awesome, non stop carnage and a feel of free style which contra SS totally lacks. The control is pretty solid but is a tiny bit floaty. The game is easy due to unlimited continues. This game is super fun, you will keep coming back for more! Multi player is even better. The gameplay never slows down, but I use a PS2.

Metal Slug 3 is coming to PS2! GBA will also get a Metal Slug but which one I don't know. Overall this treasure is a MUST BUY for old school gamers or gamers who appreciate solid FUN 2-D action. I LOVE THIS GAME!

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST...GAME....EVER
I bought this game because i had played it in arcades.Ive beaten it 3 times in two weeks.Even though its not hard, it has enough multiplayer action to keep you coming back for more.THe extra missions you unlock when you beat the normal game are VERY hard though, so be prepared. This game will entertain you a lot. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fighting Game for all!
Rival Schools:United by Fate is a great fighting game!
It's different from the usual(and boring) Street Fighter or X-men fighting games. The graphics are great and each character has his/her own unique fighting ability. Also, not only are the team-up specials amazing, they're various! They depends on the secondary player. It's not like those Street Fighter games where almost all the moves are similar. And there are lots of secret characters to choose from. A great fighting game I recomend strongly!

4-0 out of 5 stars cool game
bad graphics but okey every thing else.I like the school theme.nothing wild and new.nothing wonderful about it.kinda fun.go buy tekken 3.

5-0 out of 5 stars The new school fighting
Rival schools is the greatest 3d fighting game along with Project Justice. Both games involes the schools around Japan. It has something that Marvel V.S Capcom has. Team ups, well not using D hyper combos. But has great animation witch this one looks blocky and cartoon feeling so buy this game and learn some new school moves.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rival Schools taking over the old school games
Rival schools is a brand new 3d tag team fighting game This has team-up techqiues, buring vagor attacks and new cast of characters also staring Sakura Kusugano of Street Fighter Alpha 2 Also check out for the continuing game called "Project Justice". Inproving the teams of 3,new caracters fighting, and the party team up witch uses 5 of your buring vagor bars. Pro:Great gameplay, music, and secrets Con: The animation looks blockly[Project Justice has smoother visuals.

5-0 out of 5 stars I never played a game like it.
THis game is just the most realistic game i have ever played. Why the heck is it realistic you ask? Because in a fight you can call for others to help you, get your health back, and still have it be a fair fight. The character design is awesome. The stages are fantastic too. And don't forget the music. ... Read more

A downright creepy "survival horror" title, Silent Hillsucceeds where most Resident Evil-inspired titles suck: keepingyou hooked and instilling you with fear throughout the game. Playersare cast as Harry Mason in his desperate search for his daughter, whomysteriously disappeared after their car crashed into a gully outsideof a desolate resort town.

The 3-D environments in Silent Hill are bathed in fog ordarkness, making its dismal setting all the more eerie; this alsoallows for some spectacular lighting effects when using a flashlight inthe dark. Granted, there are some pretty coarse graphics being obscuredhere, but it's a fair trade-off, considering the game's short loadtimes.

Silent Hill is played from a third-person perspective, viewedfrom both fixed and moving camera angles. As with similar games, theviewpoint can be awkward at times, especially during combat, which hereis so clunky that you should try to avoid it whenever possible--somethingyou should do anyway, as this isn't Tomb Raider.

Rather than resort to cheap scare tactics, Silent Hill featuresa gameplay twist that works very well with its limited visibilityenvironments. Harry carries a radio with him that crackles with staticwhenever the game's nasties are near, and continues until they're nolonger in the vicinity or have been killed off. (Enemies may requirefurther whacking when they're down, as they like to play dead.)Additionally, the supported Dual-Shock controller pulsates in aheartbeatlike fashion whenever you're moderately or seriously injured.--Joe Hon

Pros:

  • Suspenseful story with bone-chilling gameplay
  • Short load times
  • Excellent lighting and fog effects
  • Five possible endings add replay value
Cons:
  • Coarse graphics
  • Clunky combat

5-0 out of 5 stars Wat Better Than Resident Evil 2
If you like scary fun, shooting things and kicking thing on the floor, then you'll love this game! Silent Hill is a great addition for any survival horror fan's collection. Or just anybodies collection. While its almost as good as Resident Evil 4, people who still have a Ps2 or a working PSX, you should pick this up.The graphics might not be as good as Resident Evil,
it's still a must buy. It's the scariest game you will ever play
along with better camera angles, running and shooting, bloodier and scarier enemy design than any other survival horror game. If you play this with every light off in your house and your alone, keep a gun. Trust me, you will get scared. And you can use a chainsaw! How cool is that? You dont be a fan of survival horror games to enjoy Silent Hill. Infact, you dont even need to like video games to love or get scared by SilenT Hill.

5-0 out of 5 stars The beginning to the best horror series of all time
Rating: A
Perhaps it was with Resident Evil that horror games began to rear their ugly head (pun intended), but it was here that psychological tension and true horror was established on the Playstation, as few can argue the tension and suspense this game, and all of the games in the series exhibit in terms of just staying with you long after you've put down the controller, and have crawled into bed for what you might have hoped to be a nice night of sleep. Although part two trounces this game in nearly every category, this game still stands the test of time, as one of the defining games on Playstation 1, as where RE reinvented horror, Silent Hill turned it on its head, and bludgeoned it with a rusty screwdriver, making you wonder where in the hell the creators for this game got their ideas in the first place. Basically the story in a nutshell revolves around Harry Mason, as he drives by the town of Silent Hill late one night, with his daughter Cheryl. Upon seeing a motorcycle cop pass him, it is only moments later, where he once again sees her bike again; but turned over on the side of the road. Upon looking back up a girl is standing in the middle of the road, Harry swerves to avoid hitting her, and the next time he awakens, he finds Cheryl gone, his jeep destroyed, and he is in a town encircled with mist and filled with dead ends that lead to nowhere in particular. Picking up mellee objects and guns along the way, Harry fights through hordes of demons (or are they really demons?) to find his daughter, and try to save her from the hellish town of Silent Hill. From a church to a school, and all the way to a hospital, and a mall, few places are left unturned in Harrys search for his missing daughter, as the mangled pieces of ths puzzle fall into place, the storyline becomes more and more disjointed until the bizarre final battle in Nowhere. A note to those that might play through the game, and be caught off guard by the seemingly strange storyline, that never seems to come together completely, play Silent Hill 3 to get the true conclusion of this games storyline, or simply head on over to GameFaqs.com and check out any of the storyline weavers over there, they are written impeccably well, and help to bridge the gap where you might be left wondering exactly what the hell is going on. Although the games battle system is a bit awkward, Silent Hill is more about atmosphere and storyline, which it exhibits in spades all throughout the whole series (once again part 2 being the pinnacle). If you enjoy this game, check out Jacob's Ladder, an excellent and disturbing movie, that hugely inspired this game and the series in general, this will also help you get a feel for the whole disjointed reality, nightmare scenarios present thorughout the whole series. All I can say to conclude this article is wait til these guys make a game on the upcoming generation of systems, as truly these crators are geniuses, that have mastered the craft of game making to an art form, and their works give you the same kind of horror and awe as looking at Francis Bacon painting, as we wonder just what the hell is beyond the abyss, awaiting us in the inner sanctums of our own dilapidated imagination, and dreams. Enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE scariest video game ever created!!!!
Back in 2002, I had never really played any kind of survival horror game ever in my life.A friend of mine came over to my house and brought Silent Hill and the Playstation.I was just watching and I really liked how it had snow falling out in the town in the summer nonetheless, it looked like a really scary game. Then, months later, I borrowed this game from my friend and played from the beginning and didn't get really far because I really didn't know what to do.Finally, one night, when my friend was back over at my house, I was playing and he was sitting there watching and we were playing with surround sound, the lights off and no one else was in the house. From the very beginning alley, I was very scared! So I get to the school, Midwich Elementary School, and everything looks normal. My friend who was watching kept telling me that once I go through the Clock Tower, I will be back at Midwich Elementary and that it will be the same school but at the same time, it wouldn't be the same school and at that point, I was really starting to freak out.I had no idea what horrors were waiting for me!

I go through the Clock Tower and I hear these really creepy sirens, I'm to the point where I want to turn the game off but my friend was with me and kept telling me to move on.So I start to go into the school and once I'm in, I'm freaking out!All the floors were replaced by metal grates with nothing below them, the walls were like chained fences, everything covered in blood, pure horror and terror!!I was really scared by the visuals and the music.Something really creepy in the Alternate school is when you go into one of the bathroom's on the first floor, you end up on the second floor, creepy!!!Just everything that I saw and heard in every room and corridor scared me to death!!

I turned the game off after I was done in the school and couldn't sleep with the light off!!I did eventually play through the whole game and beat it but I have never been so scared playing a video game in my entire life!!!The really scary music and sound effects play a big part. But what's really scary isn't just the atmosphere, the music or visuals. It freaks me out thinking about why the town of Silent Hill is deserted and how Samael came along. If I think about this stuff before I go to sleep, a lot of times, I can't sleep. The Alternate Hospital, Alchemilla Hospital is another really scary place in the game that really scared me too but not as bad as the school. To be honest, when I first was going through the Alternate school, the way it looked, that's what I thought hell would look like, it was so scary. To this day, it scares me!Sometimes even with the light on, it's scary!!Even though the graphics aren't the best, this Silent Hill game scares me more than Silent Hill's 2, 3 or 4 and they have better graphics!!!I would not recommend this game to anyone who scares easily!

5-0 out of 5 stars A very, VERY disturbing game...
I got "Silent Hill" as a gift, one of several that i enjoyed playing on the old playstation 1.I had played resident evil, parasite eve, etc; and enjoyed them all.But i really hadn't been all that frightened.

Then i started to play Silent Hill.

This game doesn't showcase the fact that it's SCARY or BLOODY.It presents itself as being purely eery- a cold, lonely sort of fear that pervades the game. The snow, the mist, the radio, and (interestingly enough) the somewhat characatured objects.Weapons, items, and environmental stuff all seem slightly out of proportion.

But the biggest shock, for me, was the "otherworld".Seeing what was just an EERY town turn into something like hell was overwhelming. And it's not an ostentatious hell (BLOOD!GUTS!TOOOOORRRRRRTTTTUUUUURRRRE!!!).It was extremely subtle, only small- but very dire, very effective- changes take place. And that's what makes the game so scary. There is no clear cut line between "Silent Hill" and the hellish otherworld, and that makes it so very frightening. To this day i wonder where the blackness beneath the chain-link ground leads...

And that's just the story.Gameplay is surprisingly fun, though rather simple. You will have a blast beating creatures with the manhole opener. You won't be all that stumped by the puzzles, although there is much to explore, and you have to pay great attention to detail to arrive at the best of the multiple endings.Gameplay remains the understatement, however, as this game manages an almost cinematic horror more than a party-worthy funfest. But this is ultimately much more rewarding in the end, especially when you can't fall asleep...

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful atmosphere!
Harry Mason and his seven year old daughter Cheryl are on their way to the lakeside resort known as Silent Hill for a peaceful getaway when a mysterious teenage girl appears in the headlights.Harry swerves to avoid her and ends up crashing through a fence into Silent Hill. When he regains consciousness, he finds Cheryl is missing. The town seems to be completely abandoned, save for a few abominations scurrying about, covered in a thick blanket of fog, and it's snowing-in July.He spots Cheryl up ahead through the fog and calls out to her but she runs away from him.She escapes and he is now stranded in the town and is left to search for his missing daughter in a town that is periodically taken over by the otherworld, AKA hell.

If you think the town is creepy at first, just wait.It gets MUCH better.Skinned bodies are hung from steal fence walls.Faceless zombie children sneak up on you in the halls of the Midwich school, knives in hand.Everything is drenched in blood and guts.Screeches, banging on a piano, cockroaches the size of cats scuttling across the floor and nibbling on your toes, the body of a decapitated dog whose head has apparently served as a child's basketball lies on the ground, grunting gorilla/men tackle you and tear out your throat, nurses in the hospital pursue you with knives, the ghost of a little girl runs past, giggling, headless ragdolls are nailed to the walls, something in the room crashes but you turn....and noone's there.

Throughout the game, you'll eventually discover why the town keeps being invaded by the otherworld, who is holding Cheryl captive and why, who the mysterious teenage girl in the road was and why she keeps appearing, and you'll meet a few interesting characters including the eccentric, creepy old woman Dahlia Gillespie, a girl named Alessa who's past is truly horrific, a female police officer named Cybil, a gruff hospital worker named Michael Kauffman, and the sweet, frightened nurse Lisa Garland.

The game terrifies many, but it honestly didn't frighten me in the least, although I LOVED the eery atmosphere, the plot, and the characters.Speaking of which, the plot is one of the deepest, most involved video game plots you'll ever see. After playing the game, you'll probably need to read a plot guide off of gamefaqs.com in order to grasp everything, and even then, it's a bear to take in everything. The writers are geniuses and Dean Koontz and Stephen King would be proud to call the plot their own brainchild.

So how about the other three Silent Hill games?Well, I Silent Hill 2 was a fantastic game that I highly recommend (it doesn't tie in to the first installment's plot).I've played through 98% of Silent Hill 3 (which is a sequel to Silent Hill 1, so try to play 1 before 3) and it's good, but dissapointing compared to the first two.Silent Hill 4, I've only played a tiny amount of as a rental, but the opening movie was quite frightening. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Samurai Greatness!!!
Okay, long ago I played this game, for a very short time at that. Once for five minutes when a neighbor brought it over (and sadly I never saw him again) and another time on a demo for about the same amount of time. Then I bought this and it was AWESOMELY AWESOME! Then also when the sequal/remake of the game Samurai Legend: Musashi, it was JUST AS AWESOME IF NOT EVEN MORE!!!!!!!!! YOU MUST BUY THE GAME NOW! ALSO THE SECOND ONE!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is TOO AWESOME to describe!!!
This game is AWESOME!!! I played the demo of it, and as soon as I finished the demo, I knew I had to play the full version. So one day I rented it. It was a BLAST!!! I fell COMPLETELY in love with game!!! Oh! And I expect the same thing in the sequel. That's right, the sequel!!! It's due March 2005, and is called Musashi Samurai Legend!!! So if you liked the first game, expect HIGH hopes from the sequel!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fun somewhat challenging games
What may have turned many fans away (even me at first) about this game is that it is on the outside targeted towards children. While Final Fantasy always had a deep plot with strong characters, this one does not.Instead we get a game that is more in tune with that of a Saturday Morning Cartoon.

The story here is that an evil force is attacking the kingdom in order to take it over. The Princess and her council cast a spell to retrieve the Legendary Brave Fencer Musashi. They expect this tall muscular Adult Warrior and instead they get a child.Distraut at first they send him on a quest to retrieve his sword and release the five scrolls so that the evil can be stopped.

The gameplay is that of an Action RPG.You gain experience points in fighting but also on how you do things to a certain degree. You use your swords to fight but also your short sword can be charged and then thrown at your opponents to absorb their abilities. You may find that the weakest of creatures could have the most usuful of abilities, and vice versa.

This game is deceptivly deep and challenging. The Bosses are for the most part Hard, yet incredible to fight. Also just to tease RPG fanatics there is a Toy Collecting Mini game of sorts. You can remove the toys from the packaging but then their value goes down if you choose to resell the toys (take that Fanatics).Overall this is a great game to play and I am looking forward to the PS2 followup for sometime next year.If your not into Final Fantasy than give this one a shot, you may be surprised at how much you enjoy it.

2-0 out of 5 stars A real review
I can't belive the reviews I am reading on this game, because I owned it, and I am writing this review to make sure that other people don't make the same mistake that I did.

We all love Square, but come on, sometimes they don't make the best games. The only problem is that their fans are so loyal that they won't let anything bad be said about even the few square game that are not good.Final Fantasy 5: bad storyline, I mean bad, fun gameplay, but none of the diehard fans will admit that it is a bad game.Musashi, same problem: horrible storyline, and I swear to god some of the most annoying side characters in gaming history.I wanted to kill the princess myself. She talks, *giggles* totally like this, and the worst, like thing, like, is that she like has audio of all her speeches *giggle*.And once you beat the game you probably won't come back 4 more.If you are under the age of 13 or 12, though, you might enjoy this game, so this review is dependent on age.

But really, before you dismiss this review, it is not the worst game, it is bad, but come on other reviewers don't recommend this game as a must have, u know it's not that good.Buy Vagrant Story instead, loads of replay value, probably the best story-line on the PS, and graphics and look are original, I've never seen a game like it, the development team broke up after it, so it will remain an anomaly.Or Parasite Eve 1, that's the closest I've seen a game come to a movie and still have gameplay and an actuall game included with it.Anyway, this is an honest review, I warned you don't buy the game, you most likely won't enjoy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars MUY BEUNO!!
Considering that this is a PS1 title, this game is awsome!!! It has solid gameplay, beutiful sound, quirky sound effects, and cool charecter designs.Best feature, the Machine Gun Fusion... bratatatatatatatatatat!!! WHEEEEE!!! ... Read more

You are Solid Snake, a superspy who's half James Bond, half Snake Plissken, and you are mean. Your mission isn't terribly new (infiltrate a terrorist base and blow everything up), but the gameplay is: your numerous enemies are watching for you, and you are encouraged to sneak rather than simply charge in. Every level brings new challenges. You fight snipers, invisible ninjas, psychic warriors, and even an M-1 tank! As the father of the modern spy game genre, this game is an instant classic.

Your allies and superiors speak to you via a cool, implanted radio, monitoring your progress, offeringtips--but failing to give you the full story. The combination of a mysterious and engaging plot and high in-game tension makes this a thrilling ride. Campy humor also abounds as you rescue beautiful women, verbally spar with your allies, and blow up enemies in the bathroom. A user-friendly control interface allows for sniping, hiding, crawling, and running, and the graphics leave nothing to be desired. If you like espionage, spy movies, or just want to own and play a piece of gaming history, then this is a must have. Metal Gear Solid is one of the all-time greats. Game tip: Secretly attach plastic explosives behind an enemy, sneak out of the room, and see what happens. --Allen Stewart

4-0 out of 5 stars This hasn't aged particularly well, but.....
After eight years without a new Metal Gear game, this franchise got it's third entry with Metal Gear Solid. The graphics have not aged well at all. Textures are very pixellated, animation is very jerky, and the framerate can get rather slow at times. The audio, however, has lots of great dialogue, combined with a catchy musical score.

The gameplay is based around stealth. You are Solid Snake, a spy working for a secret agency whose objective is to stop a device called Metal Gear, and save a couple of old guys. The story is deeper than that, of course, but in a nutshell, that's it. The controls, while laid out well, can be very unresponsive at times. The game itself is very fun (sneaking around to either get past or silently eliminate enemies), but is very easy to complete, and take away all of the cinematics and dialogue (12 hours of it all!), and you've got just three hours of gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid hasn't aged well at all, but is still very fun and happens to be a nice collector's piece for fans of the series. But should you start here? No, grab a GameCube and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (a next-gen remake of this) instead, then grab Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance on the PS2 or the Xbox.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, possibly the best action game ever created...
Metal gear solid has the most complex and often perplexing storyline I have ever seen in a video game, hands down. It will always have you on your toes, literally. I have seen many movies, and I can honestly say this game has a better storyline than most movies. Here is what you need to know..

Graphics- 100/100 The graphics were top of the line when this game first came out, and even to this day they look great. There is so much detail to every aspect of the game, and even compared to most newer games, this game wins out. Back when I first played it in about early 2000 or so, the graphics were the best the playstation had to offer, and that's a year or so after this game came out, which is pretty astonishing. There is even a scene where Snake is in the girls bathroom, and there is a mirror which perfectly reflects everything. I mean, back when this game came out that was a pretty big feat both graphically and attention wise. Most games just don't pay the kind of attention this game does.

Sound- 100/100 Perfect. Just flawless. There isn't much of an actual soundtrack, but the music is incredibly atmospheric and will make you feel like you are Solid Snake, infiltrating a nuclear base. The voice-overs are the best I have ever seen in a video game. Solid Snakes voice over is perfect, and just about everyone elses fits their personality and there image. Otacon's fits him perfectly, so do Meryl's and Liquid Snake's.
Seriously though, this game has incredible sound and has never been surpassed by any action game to date.

Gameplay- 100/100 I have heard people complain about the poor camera views limiting the gameplay, but in my opinion, the camera views perfectly fit this game and the game wouldn't be the same without them. Sure, it would have been nice to have a first person perspective while using the weapons, but it's all the same to me. I think it is perfectly fine having to shoot enemies in a third person view, and it works better with the type of graphics that it has. When you are spotted, enemies will storm in from all directions to stop you, something that seperates this game from all others. This game gives you good reason to want to play it safe, but still allows you you have some action packed fun as well, if you want to take a chance that is. Also, this game has an incredible storyline but doesn't throw it in your face all the time. MGS2 drags the storyline on eccesively and bores you with excruciatingly long cut scenes and codec conversations. I remember using the square button to skip most of the cut scenes in MGS2. The problem with MG2 is that the storyline is too complex for the good of the game. I mean, much of it is pointless grubble and the game bores you by making you listen to conversations about crap that doesn't apply necessarily to the main storyline, making it a waste of time. This game, however, truly has a wonderful , complex storyline that you will WANT to watch and listen to. Every conversation and cut scene adds to the game flawlessly, so you will probably never get bored, although I am sure you will find yourself reading the codec conversations manually instead of listening to the people talk, since they tend to talk rather slowly and take up a bit too much gameplay.

Overall- 100/100 This game is as perfect as it gets, and I have beaten it at least 15 times, if not more. Even to this day it is a pleasure to play, and I don't think it will get old any time soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Metal Gear Solid
Well this is one game that I love playing and I always will. This game has it all, everything you would expect in a movie. Im talking about true military action which features, VR training, special weapons, and ofcourse the hero and the villains.

You are Solid Snake, and your mission is to find and eliminate the nuclear war head 'Meatl Gear Rex'. But beware, expect challenges through out your mission, be preared for antthing. Only you have been chosen to attempt this mission and you know you can do it. Prepare yourself for stealth action like you have never seen it before, and experience the life of a genetically born soldier.

It's not very often that a game aims to be fun and realistic while instilling a sense of personal involvement and responsibility. Mary-Kate and Ashley: Winners Circle does that within the theme of horseback riding. Players compete in such equestrian events as dressage, jumping, and cross-country, and learn the basics of caring for a horse. The game offers a practice mode, which lets riders master the controls and explore a course before entering events, and an adventure mode with large forest and island levels where players can play minigames or just simply explore. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Two Thumbs Up
As a young woman who has been showing, training, breeding, and riding horses since a very young age, it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to horsemanship games. When I opened up a Christmas gift to find this game, I inwardly groaned and said, Ewwww. Mary-Kate and Ashley. Later that day, I was glued to the Playstation. My parents had to drag me off of it to go to bed. Needless to say, I was very impressed.
Starting out in the stable, you can customize your own rider and horse, and set out to ride, whether you choose horse trials, three or single day eventing, horseshoe hunting, or a simple trail ride, you can be gaurunteed that you'll have fun. The game focuses around the 3-day-eventing, with progression in levels (you work your way up from beginner's circle to winner's circle) and new course layouts for each level.
A fun aspect of the game is the collection of ribbons you can win while trail riding, which can then be spent like money in the tack shop. While there's no tack in the shop, you can buy clothes for your rider, which (however girly it may seem) is rather fun. You can have a tweed coat for showing your chestnut horse, or a black hunt coat for a white horse. The possibilites are endless.
The trail-riding worlds (island and forest) are both huge, with beautiful scenery and landscapes. Each has several hidden minigames, but you'll probably just find yourself galloping aroung exploring. With the two-player option, you can ride with a friend, which is even more fun. The music that plays in the background for these worlds (also featured in horse trials and horseshoe hunts) is catchy and sugary.
The one thing I didn't like about this game is MK-A's voice overs, like "You're on the wrong trail" or "you missed a checkpoint" during the cross-country course. Can you say ANNOYING? Another thing is that, while caring for your horse, the rider will say stupid things like, when brushing the tail "someone needs to use some conditioner!" or when cleaning out the stall, "it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it." I mean, is it really neccesary?
However, these are not trivial problems and if you love horses, you should definately purchase this game! It's great for those rainy days that you can't go out to the barn. Saddle up and I'll see you on the trails!

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is so cool first time, but is too easy
This game is really cool is ur under 14 and love horses and riding. You can design and name ur own horse, which u can then ride in dressage, x country, jumping free ride. You can win ribbons and trade them for outfits and maps in the shop, and you can feed groom, and generally care for ur horse, to get more points in dressage. The only problem is, it's too easy, and i completed it within a week. Buy it though, coz it's worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN GAME!!
Howdy Horse Lovers! This is a REALLY awesome game! It's fun and it NEVER gets old, although it broke now cuz i played it too much...heehee. but i got it used anyways. im probably going to buy another one cuz THIS GAME ROCKS! i would DEFINITELY have ANY horse lover try it out! (BUY THIS GAME! ITS WORTH THE MONEY!!!)

4-0 out of 5 stars great
I thought the mary-kate and ashely game was great it had alot of action packed thing it was awsome and i mean AWESOME

3-0 out of 5 stars A good horse game
I enjoyed this game a lot. I like how you can create your own horse and compete in Dressage, Cross-Country, and Showjumping. There are a few things I dont think are the greatest. One: The charaters you choose from are UGLY! They say make a charater that looks like you. What, do Mary-Kate and Ashley think everyone is UGLY!?!?!?! I dunno. Two: If you accidently miss a checkpoint, the stupid voices will say 'YOU missed a checkpoint!' It gets SOOOOOOOOOO annoying! Third: In the tack show, I thought they could have done better. They didn't have any saddles, bridles no tack. Only clothes. No duh you can tell its a Mary-Kate and Ashley game.
Everything else, I thought was great. It may seem I hated this game, but i really didn't. Try it out for yourelf! You might like it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SPYRO ROCKS!
I have all the Spyro PS1 games and they rock! The best PS1 games you can buy.
I have Gateway To Glimmer instead of Ripto's Rage though, but they are exactly the same but with diff names and covers.
All the worlds rock, and it's nice to see more friends to help Spyro on his way to beat Ripto- and when you finally beat him, the game still isn't over! How cool? There are many skill points to earn,a amazing new level- the cool Dragon Shores, and a permanent fireball!!
If you have a PS1, you have to play this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Spyro!
Spyro fun aholoic sweet game!!! Very fun but not hard, it can be very very easy but it is alot of tottaly wicked fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but not Insomniac's Best
I was a little bit disappointed with this Spyro.Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome game, but Insomniac could've put a little more effort into it.With only three worlds and about twenty-one levels, this game may only be for true Spyro fans, but, I strongly encourage you to buy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spyro second adventure!
The first Spyro was great game already, but this game beats it by far. With loads of new features and tons of new characters, this is one of the best Spyro games out there. In this game you get to travel through 4 new worlds with over 30 colorful levels with your old buddy Sparx and your new companion, Hunter, the cheetah. You must collect over 14 tallismans and 60 orbs to finally come face to face with Ripto. Also in these game, meet Moneybags. He can open up doors or drop bridges for you at a "small fee". Some new features in this include some fun mini-games, the ability to swim, and some new power-ups like the super charge, super flame breath, and super flying power. Here an overview of the game:

+Improved graphics 8.5/10
+Challenging but not too challenging boss battles 8/10
+Autosave 10/10
-Not enough new abilities 7/10
-Levels are a bit small 7.5/10
-Storyline is a bit bland 7/10

Overall, a great Spyro game. It provides lots of entertainment and lots of fun mini-games, therefore, it's a MUST-HAVE!

5-0 out of 5 stars This ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is awesome! From the moment I got it I have played it like a maniac! This is a MUST HAVE! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Digimon World 2 is a sequel to the original monster-trainingtitle, but this one is much more like a traditional role-playing game. It stillretains the capture-the-monsters spirit, however, of the originalDigimon World, whichmakes it a fun PlayStation alternative to Nintendo's 300-pound pocket gorillaknown as Pokémon.

In the game, wild Digimon are attacking the city, and you've been drafted tojoin the guards to fight, capture, and "digivolve" them. You're armed with anifty creature vehicle called a Digi-Beetle, and you'll adventure throughseveral midsize dungeons looking for, subduing, and ultimately capturingrampaging Digimon creatures. After you get them, you can trade them or mergethem with your Digi-Beetle to give yourself new powers and abilities. Forexample, such a merging might increase your defense or attack power so you canexplore more dungeons and capture more Digi-monsters. There is a paper-thinquest and story to unravel, but it's the new powers and abilities that'll keepyou playing.

Perhaps the worst of the rampaging monsters this game offers is the curse ofsameness. There are 30 dungeons and you'll face hordes of monsters, but thevariety wears thin because the dungeons all look alike. Another problem is thatthe graphics are muddy and fail to fully capitalize on the aging PlayStation'scapabilities. Fortunately, fans will still enjoy taming and capturing thecreatures. --Andrew S. Bub

Pros:

  • 30 dungeons to explore
  • Hordes of creatures to tame
  • Upgrading your Digi-Beetle is fun
Cons:
  • The graphics aren't so good
  • The dungeons suffer from sameness

3-0 out of 5 stars It was....O.K., not the best
Digimon world two is alright. It is poor in 3 ways though: Digivolution system is lousy, You have to travel around in this buggy(which you can't go far on because it runs on a battery), And it says you can capture digimon, but it is really hard, you have to throw items or presents at them so they'll like you (does not work most of the time).I still love digimon, but i was dissapointed with this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars The second digiomon game!!!!!
If U like games and have a Ps2 0r Ps1 get the Game!!!!!This game is great. You can have more than one Digimon. You can even battle other tamers once you get a RegessterationPass and battle in the place. You can choose the vriouse team, the data team or the vaccinne team. I picked the vaccine team and got augumon.but it took forever for him to beco
