Amazon.co.uk Review Yet ultimately, the core of Burnout 2 is still arcade-style racing, and frankly theres little else that does it better. Burnout 2 is incredibly accessible and an absolute blast to play, whether youre competing through the suitably enhanced single-player options or hooking up with friends--its completely irresistible. Visually, the game looks great and moves very, very quickly. The action too is interspersed with elaborate crashes, and when you do hit something you shouldnt, at least youre rewarded with an action replay for your trouble. Negatives? Genuinely very few. Those who prefer their driving games flavored with a bit more realism are going to be happier with a Gran Turismo game than this, and in spite of some good improvements and additions, there arent enormous differences between this and the original, despite the fact that a lot more has been added to it. These are nothing more than very minor niggles though. Easily one of the most downright enjoyable games of recent times, Burnout 2 is an exemplary piece of gaming entertainment, and a welcome antidote to the growing band of games that just take themselves far too seriously. Treat yourself. Youll be glad you did. --Simon Brew Features Reviews (59)
For the negatives (which aren't many): Though it doesn't matter to me on this particular game (although it may to some), you can't customize your cars. More positives: There are 3 modes of gameplay. First, complete a set of races to open up more races, areas, and cars. Second, a pursuit mode. Although they should've taken more energy points away for harder the hits on the car instead of one energy point per hit, you get to pursue a car and hit him with your car until their energy bar is to nothing. Hurry up though, you have a short time (at least 4 miles) to reduce the energy bar to nil. Third positve (and my favorite): Crash. You get to choose any car you want, the boost bar is always filled up for you, and you go out and make as big a mess as possible. Great for blowing off steam after that person just cut you off on the road coming home tonight, or any other incident you may get road raged about. Absolutely fun game, and with only $20, you can't go wrong! ... Read more

With Family Feud for the P.C., you get a choice from 5 families to choose from to play for the big bucks. But, if you aren't satisfied with those families, you can always make your own family with the create a family option. The game is exactly the same as Louie used to host the feud. Still, he seems a little mild-mannered during the game, but shows a better sense of humor at the end, with a little dance he pulls to say goodbye. Otherwise, the game also includes several other features to the mix, including a question level difficulty, and a adjustable time limit on all questions. Still, unlike some game show hosts, Louie looks a little more realistic than the actual contestants. That is really no surprise there. The game also includes something that really isn't in the box, fun. This is actually fun. I just still don't understand that when it comes to game shows making it for the P.C. there are always flaws. When it comes to Wheel Of Fortune, all you see is Vanna and no Pat Sajak. When it comes to Millionaire, it seems more like the newer version without Regis Philbin. When Pyramid was released in 2001, the game really wasn't like the actual game show. Unlike those game shows, Family Feud hits it exactly right. If you're a fan of the Family Feud and you have a computer, get it for the P.C. You will have a good time with it.
My one real gripe is that Louis, as lovable as he is, can be a little annoying at times. The game has no way to turn him off so it slows up the game. Other than that, I recommend this game for great family fun!

Amazon.com Review The game, using an unnamed mascot, nicely guides you through your very firstpark. The mascot tells you how to get golden tickets, which you'll use to getinto other parks with different themes, such as Halloween, space, and dinosaurages. The menus are a little convoluted, and the loading time for a parkapproaches one minute, but once inside you get access to that park'sattractions. Once you've set down an attraction's layout, you can then ride on it infirst-person 3-D--an experience that is just about as vertigo inducing as itsreal-life counterpart. There is even variety in the roller coasters available:hanging steel, wood coasters, and even water rides. The name Theme Park Roller Coaster implies that you'll spend most ofyourtime designing and riding these roller coasters. Unfortunately, the game hasmore insane micromanagement features than SimBureaucrat. Every stagehasat least three goals. The first is to stay in business for a specified periodoftime. The second is to make a certain amount of money within a year. The thirdis to get a certain amount of people to visit. But if you are a roller coaster buff, or you enjoy the business simulationaspects of games like these, you'll want to add this game to your PS2collection. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Reviews (47)

You may be either the Dark or Light with each differnt levels and story line. The characters you get are Shadow, Rouge, Dr. Robotink, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. You also unlock SoundTracks you can listen to in the Options menu. I never really pay much attention to this though. My favorite thing in this game has to be the Kart Racing Feature You unlock in the Tails and Rouge chase level. This is also for two players too. You can also get new objectives inthe level you beaten in the extras menu. Overall this is a cool game you must buy it when you get the chance.
I don't have a Nintendo Gamecube, so I don't know how well the "port" of this translated to the GC.I do have a PS2 and Xbox and anxiously await for Sonic Heroes.I also have a GBPAsp and play Sonic Advance (1 and 2) often. Sonic Adventure 2 (and Sonic Adventure 1) are worth locating a Dreamcast for alone. With Dreamcasts selling now for only $25 at local game stores, you don't have much to invest to get this game playing. (If you don't already have a DC.) Its not perfect, it does have some quirks such as the camera positioning sometimes during the game. While you do have limited control of the camera in real time, there are times in the game where you may have to make a "blind jump" because of the view angle.A "blind jump" is a jump over an obstable that can't be seen. You simply jump and hope for the best. Regardless of this quirk, this game is the game I would want to be with if I could only have one game. With vibrant graphics, fast aracady game play, a 3D nostalgia of the excellent 2D scrollers of years past, this game could very well be labeled as "the best game ever for any console".
The graphics on this game are totally and completely awsome. Whenever I play it I always come back to thinking about the grapics and how much they seem so real. The music is great too, especially the lyrics. They are so capturing that I almost always find myself singing along. Even though I have only gotten passed the 11th level/Death Chamber, what I have played was great. (I hope eggman doesn't take over the world.) In the levels there has been lots of fun and exictement, with 6 characters to choose from you never actually know what's coming next. There's racing with Shadow and Sonic, Treasure hunting with Knuckles and Rouge, and button mashing shooting stages between Dr. Eggman and Tails Anyways, pretty much every aspect of the game is wonderful, except for a few things: for one, the lipsyncing is notoriously poor, some lyrics in the music are pretty rude, and it's sorta hard the chao combinations work for you(such as animals and chaos drives), and if you don't do it right they can turn out looking kinda drunk. But hey , no game is perfect so that's just my opinion. If you ever play the game and you want to get , go for it , but I suggest getting the GameCube version since the Dreamcast one is pretty hard to find. I loooooooooove this game!!! Go Sega!!! ... Editorial Review The game is equally balanced for pros and amateurs alike. Seasoned virtual golfers and perfectionists can choose a club, adjust the golfer's stance, gauge the wind direction, and apply a variety of spins to the ball. Casual golfers can let the computer caddy pick the best club and line up the golfer, and then simply swing away. A variety of 10 classic and cleverly original game modes are available. Among the more interesting challenges are ring shot, requiring players to land shots through floating rings, and mini golf, complete with banked walls and ramps. In addition to the traditional tournament, skins, and match modes, golfers can play speed golf, requiring players to finish a round of golf as quickly as possible. --Eric Twelker Pros: Reviews (45)
With Mario Golf, the game consists of the start of four golfers, including Baby Mario, Peach, and a couple of others. Throughout the game, you can access the Get Character mode, which can help you challenge other characters like Mario, Bowser, and Yoshi. Once you win the character, you also need them, the harder the challenger in the round. It is also important in the Tournament mode, where you can also earn enough points toward newer golf courses and challenging holes in the process. Each course reflecting on the cute, Mario Brothers themed style, which makes it appealing to all ages old and young, where the other games don't seem to have that sense of enjoyment. Although Nintendo stopped making games for the Nintendo 64, Mario Golf is only one of the very few sports games I highly recommend for the system. Although many people might not see the review, because of the newer game system reviews and newer games of the Gamecube, Xbox, and Playstation 2.

Amazon.com Review Frequently there are two or more team members with you (includingfamiliar faces like Seven of Nine), which lets missions play out morelike episodes from the series than a solo firefight that just happens totake place in a Star Trek setting. Other team members willdisable security fields, analyze data, converse with you as the missionprogresses, and add some much-needed firepower in the tough battlesequences. Elite Force uses the Quake III engine to goodeffect, serving up some beautiful environments, colorful specialeffects, and smooth frame rates. Our only gripe is that all the missionstake place inside various spacecraft, but the architecture used by eachrace is unique so that it isn't too repetitive. Elite Force stays very true to the source material, as wediscovered the first time we beamed into a Borg cube and watched theinhabitants march by as if we weren't there. We shot a passing Borg tosee what would happen, and the massive environment sprung to life as thethreat was detected and dozens of angry Borg converged on our position. The cast of the TV series provided the voices for their characters inthe game, and the artists painstakingly modeled the interior ofVoyager. It all lends an authentic flair to this fun game thatbelongs in the collection of any Star Trek fan. --T. ByrlBaker Pros: Reviews (110)

Amazon.com Review This time the action takes place in the streets of San Francisco and London.Asexpected, San Francisco sports its many landmarks and famous rolling hills, which offer plenty of chances to build up speed for ludicrous stunts. Keep aneye open for the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts. London'stightturns and twisting streets put the emphasis on driver skill rather thanflat-outspeed. Landmarks include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Trafalgar Square. Ofcourse, the secret to success in the Midtown games is to findunconventional shortcuts that can bring about a quick victory. For the most part players will be racing in standard circuit and checkpointraces. Interestingly, you must unlock most of the 20 cars in the game byfinishing a series of races or completing the two in-game driving schools. Youcan't drive our favorite car--the Aston Martin DB7--until you finish Britishcabby school, but once you do get it, you'll be a terror on the highways. Weonly wish more automobiles were available right from the start, as theperformance of the cars varies as wildly as their makes and models. While the cities are interesting to look at and many of the structures containshortcuts and other secret passages, the overall look of the game is morecartoony than realistic. While the graphics don't stand up against the Needfor Speed games, they are more than adequate in their own right. However, you will need a fairly powerful machine to see them in all their cartoonyglory.--Mark Brooks Pros: Reviews (74)

Amazon.com Review At first, playing the game is almost as simple as Pong: Move your character toward the ball and press a button. Provided they're close enough to the ball, they should be able to return the volley. To progress through the increasingly tough challengers, though, players will need to learn how to direct the ball, perform lobs and smashes, and use finesse with topspins and backspins. The game still has a few areas that could be improved. First, there's no way to change the court perspective--one side of the court is always in the foreground, the other in the background. It's easier to play the game when your character is right in front of you, but the characters switch sides between games in the set. It makes sense in the two-player game, since having the camera move with the character would require a split-screen arrangement, but gamers should at least have the option of staying with their tennis pro during computer matches. The only other complaint is that while Sega Sports Tennis has an excellent two-player game--with both the singles and cooperative or competitive doubles--there are no three- or four-player options, as there were in the Dreamcast version. Granted, there are only two controller slots on the PS2, but plenty of other games get around this by using the Multitap accessory. Still, even with only two at a time, Sega Sports Tennis is a great party game since the matches are short and anyone--even those who know nothing about tennis and have never played a video game in their lives--can pick up this game and have fun. --Porter B. Hall Pros: Cons: Reviews (24)
What I liked about the game was its attention to detail.Unlike other tennis title, your character actually developes in skill. At first, your ground strokes and serves are pathetically slow.Fortunately, so is the footwork of your opponents. There are alot of training games you can play (it's more of a mini-game) to improve our skills.Want to have a blazing serve? Then 'train' in either the serve bowling game or the shoot for prize game. There are 2 training games for each skills, which include: groundstrokes, volleys, footwork, and serve. Those 4 sets of skills are also divided into individual sub-skill sets. For example, on your serve, you have power and control skills sets. And for your ground strokes, you have power, control, and angel, all divided into left and right hand groups. You gain rank by playing and beating your opponent. At first, there won't be much tournaments you'll be able to attend to due to your low ranking.Soon, however, after much training, you'll be able to attend the top tournaments, such as Wimbeldon and U.S. Open. Now the dislikes...you don't improve your skill by playing matches.Training in those mini games is mandatory, instead of something to pass time on.I'd also loved to have a realistic partner training to improve your skills. Also, as with every other tennis game I played...the service is a joke.I have nearly maxed out my service yet I have only scored a couple aces.Serve a power service going 120mph, and your opponent not only returns it with ease, they'll return it with such pace and angle, you're left playing catch up the whole point. It also goes the same for your opponents service. The only time they get aces is when I pretty much let them. Also, due to the lack of skill improvement by playing actual matches, attaining the top 10 rank will take too much time.It took me over 10 years to attain that rank! Hopefully sega will release a new version in the near future that addresses many of the finer points. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description The exotic real-world beaches of South Africa, Hawaii, Australia, Tahiti, Spain, and North America will immerse players in the virtual surf world. An intuitive control system allows players to execute the most technical pro maneuvers and experience ever-changing wave conditions. The game offers multiple play modes, including career mode, special events, and surf trip. Additionally, a large variety of real surf tricks and events, licensed boards, wetsuits, and clothing lend the game authenticity. Reviews (25)
From a visual standpoint, this game would get a perfect 10.The waves look realistic and smooth, as does the surfing itself. No choppy or sluggish action on this effort. There are quite a few beaches to visit, although none of the goals are really all that difficult. Sounds are good, so is the music for the most part.Basically what you would expect from Activision. So, why not a perfect 5 star rating?Well, replay value for one. After you blow through the challenges there isn't much left.Sure, it is still kinda fun to try to bust high scores, but not much to work for to keep someone hanging on.Also, even though there are a ton of beaches to visit, it is a far cry from opening a new "level" on Hawk.Basically each beach is kind of like the one you just visited. You drop in on a big wave and do your thing.End of story. Oh, on the plus side, there is a lot of cool surf footage to enjoy if you are into it.Each surfer and each beach has some footy, plus there is a 30 minute video which is a behind the scenes type of deal.Good stuff. I am hearing that this game is being discontinued, so try and pick up a copy while you still can.

HSG3 is a golf game that doesn't take itself serious. The taunts are really funny and will be stuck in your head for days. The courses feel very lifelike, full of colors and unlockable animals, great weather effects. Since I sold my memory card last year, I am playing through the tourney mode, unlocking all the clubs and other goodies once again. If you are looking for a serious golf game with collared shirt stiffs, this is not your game. The Power Meter system in this games works just fine for me, but I hear the controls in Tiger are really good as well. I'm not a golfer and don't have any serious plans of ever becoming one. I've been on a golf course less times than I have fingers on my left hand. Don't even know why I actually ever bought this game, in all truth. Good reviews I guess, something different from all the action titles and RPGS out there. Not too serious a game if you don't want it to be, but the depth is there if you're looking for it;about 12 unlockable players, tourneys, unlockable clubs and courses. Great fun.;o)

Overall, Hoyle isn't too bad, but I find that even on the "advanced" setting, your partner is too timid, mostly by failing to lead trump on your call or order. However, they often order up from first with 2 bowers and no support, when they could have had 3 or 4 trump by passing for "next". Also, 1st chair never donates. Pinochle: In viewing the meld, you gain additional information that can be used later in the gameplay. The computer never makes use of this.Say your P in double-deck has 3 aces of diamonds (which you only know after the fact) and you make diamonds trump with a run (so the computer should know you have the 4th ace). You lead the Qd.Your P should play the 10 of diamonds and lead back at least 2 ace of diamonds before playing other suits. Also, in the bidding, if you are in a game to 3550 and both teams have around 3000, you cannot count on your P to bid even if you have no marriage yourself. This is very frustrating because you now have to bid a lot more.I think it is so the player can have the glory, but I want the computer to play with the understanding that you must bid to win.
