"It's about nothing." --George Costanza, Seinfeld

Rarely has a game had so much hype: the cover of a national newsweekly, articles in every newspaper from L.A. to New York, comments that The Sims Online--or TSO for short--will save PC games from console-game encroachment. The Sims earned such attention because the concept was brilliant. The Sims was less a game and more a fun software toy, with no way to win. The Sims Online follows the same formula. Unlike other online games, TSO was specifically designed to not have traditional rewards such as gold, power, or magic items. There are no levels to attain, or princesses to rescue. Instead, players take joy in little victories--maybe your Sim cooperates with others, and all four of you manage to bake a pizza without burning it and then sell it. Or maybe you throw a party, and all the cool kids show up and have a good time. The core reward for playing the game is nothing... nothing more or less than the joy of playing.

Unlike the original Sims, where you created a number of Sims and controlled them all as a god, in TSO you create and control only one Sim at a time. This is a significant change, as you can't direct one Sim to perform a time-consuming task and then switch to another Sim until the task is complete. Instead, if you want your Sim to do anything in the game, you have to watch him do it in tedious real time (the fast-forward button, so vital in the original Sims, is gone). For example: when your Sim is sleeping, you have to sit and watch him sleep for the five minutes it takes him to refresh. This real-time aspect is excruciating. The game designers probably thought that a group of ten people, while watching their Sims work out in an exercise room together, would alleviate the boredom of watching Sims pump virtual iron by striking up a conversation (the chat aspect gets a lot of comment from TSO designer Will Wright). The problem is that unlike a chat room, where a topic or passion is already shared by everyone in the room, the only thing a player has in common with other folks in TSO is that everyone is watching their Sims power up. Such basic commonality doesn't spark quality conversation. The best you can hope for is some idiot inevitably commenting "nice grunt" or making some other silly sexual innuendo (often with *%$^@*# fake words generated by the much-needed obscenity filter).

If you're willing to put in the time, there's still the issue of paying month-by-month to access your Sim. For this reason, word of mouth, which caused The Sims to rocket from obscurity to the Best-Selling PC Game of All Time, is working against TSO. Casual game players loudly criticize the idea of paying for both a game and a game service, despite the fact that many of these same players are comfortable shelling out hundreds of dollars for cable, magazines, TiVo, and other monthly subscription-based entertainment services. The overall trend toward pay-per-month-of-play service is generally accepted by the hardcore gamers who play dynamic online adventure games like EverQuest, where gamers can see their monthly tribute at work in the form of fancy new spells and labyrinths. But TSO is a quietly suburban diversion for mostly casual gamers, filled with objects that are mundane by design. In TSO, you putter, you work out, you chat with others in the real world via your avatars. To put it another way: you live a slightly zanier version of everyday life, and frankly, that costs a lot already.

TSO still has the core elements that made the first game a classic: obsession with the minutiae of daily life, amusing content from the game designers, and the mind-bending thing that happens when you've been playing too long--that the real world starts to look exactly like The Sims. (Couch shopping caused that surreal "Is it Sims, or is it real?" experience for a friend.) TSO may still prove to be the Goliath the media predicted it would be thanks to the nature of ever-changing online games. Ironically, the monthly fees that bother so many new TSO players will pay for the improvements those same players crave. For example, EA plans to release new functionality that will allow players to design clothes and objects (a big hit with players of the original Sims).

TSO is fluid, and the game reviewed as it is at launch may be very different from TSO in a year, when the designers are able to respond to player requests. Even until that time, there are good things about this game. When your character is "greened up," dressed in disco finery and looking to hit it lucky with the dice, TSO can be a blast. But the tidal wave of hype may have done more harm than good for a game that has a simple, Seinfeldish heart. --Jennifer Buckendorff

Pros:

  • Gameplay similar to The Sims
  • Wide variety of social interactions, including a deep menu of dance moves
  • Persistent online world lets you share the Sims experience with others

Cons:

  • Lack of fast-forward feature is a drag
  • At launch, too few in-game money-making opportunities
  • At launch, game world seems empty--there's not enough to do
  • Players of The Sims, used to easy money through cheat codes, may balk at having to actually work for in-game cash

1-0 out of 5 stars 3/10- Still Not Good
Ok I played it during the summer and might I say its the worse expiernence ever.I do have to say this game "HAS POTENTAL"The game designers can make it work. They just need to get off their lazy ass and create something desent. Short and simple well wait another year to probally go back

4-0 out of 5 stars Sims Online is really fun...
I was pleasantly suprised when I played this game, normally I am more of a RPG guy, but this ame is crazy.A lot more creative than I was expecting.I loved it...getting it for the kids as an x-mas gift...

4-0 out of 5 stars Making Magic vanising items
Has anyone have the same problem as me?After installing Making Magic, my iguanas and love birds dissapeared. I have also lost the ability to go to the comunity lots. Please e-mail me if there is a solution

4-0 out of 5 stars It's much improved now
Many many changes have been made since the inital release. This should've been the version that was initially rolled out.More changes to come!

1-0 out of 5 stars Mindless Chatroom with a few game elements thrown in!
TSO was and still is HUGE disappointment. Its merely achatroom with a Sims theme and ITS NOT WORTH the cost. I recently cancelled after foolishly paying for months of what is essentially a giant Sim Chatroom with some game elements thrown
to give the casual player the false assumption that they are playing an actual game when in fact they're only participating in an interactive chatroom.

Why can't Electronic Arts spend more time on making a really good game or two, rather than making a below average to horrible animatedchatroomthat has little to offer? ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Newly optimized for GameCube, SpyHunter is a mission-based combat racing game based on the arcade classic. It puts you behind the wheel of the G-6155 Interceptor, the ultimate counterintelligence prototype vehicle. It's turbocharged and ready to go with 845 horsepower for lightning-fast speed. That's not all--there's an arsenal of futuristic weaponry and morphing abilities that turn the car into a speedboat, jet ski, or motorcycle. Basically, it's everything you need to undertake 14 high-adrenaline missions on wheels.

Should you choose to accept these daring reconnaissance missions, you'll travel to Panama, England, the Middle East, Venice, and other exotic locations around the world. Each location is rendered with a high degree of realism and provides recognizable landmarks and scenery. Throughout, you're the hunter as well as the hunted, pursued by enemies over land, on water, and in the air. Your mission is to take on NOSTRA, an out-of-control multinational corporation headed by an evil madman who's threatening the world.

As SpyHunter, you must always be ready for heavily armed enemy vehicles that lurk around every corner and strike at the first site of the Interceptor. But you have a steady supply of weapons trucks that load you up with machine guns, missiles, lasers, and counterattack weapons such as oil slicks, smoke screens, and cluster mines. Each successful attack gets you one step closer to revealing who SpyHunter is and what he's ultimately after. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars how could you do this to me?!?!
i honestly don't know where to start...
...grr!! ok, this game starts off all nice and smooth, then you get to like the third or fourth level... and suddently you're expected to be an expert. some of the rare (RARE!!!) cut-scenes have pretty good graphics, but the normal graphics are nothing to brag about. in some of the levels, they throw you into the middle of a giant horde of missel-toted cars, give you a vague decription of your primary mission, say things like "activate all targets" for your secondary mission, and expect you to do EXACTLY what they tell you to do... (oh yeah, and you only have 5 minutes.. have fun!) while constantly changing from boat to car to boat to car.....RRGG!
do me...uhm... and you a favor. go buy yourself a racing game, or a shooter game, or hell, buy yourself a real car with dual machine guns!! but dont buy this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Horrible, horrible frame rate
The game starts out great. The training missions are fast, smooth and fun. I have to assume that all the high reviews are from people who've just started playing it.

The problem is, once you start the actual missions, the frame rate seems to drop noticably, presumably because of all the extra objects the game has to draw. Not only that, but the frame rate becomes uneven, which makes targeting anything while on the move rather annoying. The pixelated graphics don't help, and the faux-3D is rather obvious.

When you compare it to (say) "Burnout 2", it's clear that very little effort was spent to get the game running acceptably on the GameCube. I've seen smoother graphics on PS2 games (I own both systems). Definitely one to steer clear of.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool game
[THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE GAMECUBE EDITION]

In 1983, the classic known as Spy Hunter was released. Though it is considered simplistic by our modern day standards, back in the day it was top notch. Like so many games in recent years, the company who created the game decided to give the game a major update. And now the result has arrived! Read on to see how this new Spy Hunter measures up.

THE GOOD:
This is a fast-paced driving and shooting game, and we know how many people love them! In addition to driving on land, your car will turn into a boat when it lands on water! Likewise, if you take too much damage, it will transform into a more compact vehicle. There are many missions, each one having its own objectives and hidden paths. This game is sure to impress a number of gamers.

THE BAD:
The resolution seems imbalanced. Some parts of the game (usually water) run smooth as can be, while many parts (usually land) are quite choppy. Likewise, the FMV cinema scenes are extremely fuzzy. Why? Also, it is extremely difficult to tell civilians from your foes. Plus, the game may be a bit too fast-paced for the casual gamer. And, of course, the game is a bit on the short side.

OVERALL:
Flaws aside, this is an excellent game. And in recent months, the price has been lowered drastically! If you own the system, there's never been a better time to buy this game!

1-0 out of 5 stars WORST GAME EVER
This game was the worst game for GameCube I have ever played! All of the levels were too easy and everything about it was bad.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible and Agonizing Gameplay
There is no question this is the worst racing game I have ever played. Extremely difficult and frustrating to play, its just NOT fun. I returned the five day rental after 2 hours of torment. Great racing games: F-Zero (Super Nes), F-Zero X (N64), Crusin USA (N64), Rumble Racing (PS2) (cheesy graphics but fun gameplay), Tokyo Extreme Racer (Dreamcast) (Fantastic graphics and gameplay). :) ... 2-0 out of 5 stars disapointment
My first Fifa game was FIFA 96, and, every 2 years, I buy another. After seeing FIFA 2003 at a friend's house, I was really looking forward to the 2004's issue. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!

The game is really slow; you almost have to shout for them to run; it keeps crashing during the match; the menus are some of the most confusing and useless I've ever experienced... Well, I hope EA Sports learns a lesson and puts the level of excitment (which was present on the others) back on the game, especially during the match: too slow, too complicated, not worth it.

The only good point are the new leagues.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sorry EA, but get a clue!!!
I was so excited to get this game for my b/day, but was heartbroken when it wouldnt load on my computer. I learnt that EA is one messed up company! I called 7 different EA customer support lines before i actually used a voice changer to make my voice sound like a big man, not a kid. But anyways, the gameplay is horrendous! The fouls are totally unrealistic, you can go head on and slide tackle from behind, with not so much as a comment by ally mccoist on the refs contacts. (more on the voices later). But if you do the normal tackle, 80% of the time, you get some cheap foul called on you. And when i watch the replay, i see that my player came nowhere close to touching the other player. This really bites in online play, which isnt all that great. The off the ball control is pointless, because if you move a player open, once you send a ball to him, he gets magically covered! As for all the new leagues, that is a piece of crap! The all new leagues are like the minor leagues for the FA and Mexican league. They have 3 english practice squads! There is no international tournament that i have found, and you cant use real madrid in the club championship, because there is no club championship. Now my last irratation is the announcers. not to be rude, but what happened to the randy hahn, and brandi chastain. Its really hard to understand Ally Mccoist during gameplay, his scottish accent is so thick, it just sounds like a blur. I think this could have been a decent game, but the gameplay, menus, and overall rushed feel of the game ruin it. Id check out Winning Eleven 7, Its worth the extra 10 bucks. The lesson here, you get what you pay for!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it at all
I own 2003 and 2002 and this is a disgrace for a good line of soccer games. The menu is horrid, the gameplay is so slow and way to complex to be any fun. Not very supportive of hardware and had to go to alot of trouble to get it to work. Does not work in DVD drives. No controller custom config. This game is so crapy I would not recomend it to anyone, and im considering writing EA because they usually put out a good product. Waste of 20 bucks

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible game
There are many reasons why this game deserves a 1 star. The only reason why I did give this game a 1 star is because it has player names and a numbr of leagues. The graphics are weak, stats do not compare to other EA titles like Madden.Control of the players could have been better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unpolished product with hyper-aggressive copy protection
This refers to version 1.1 (patch 1.1) of the PC version of FIFA 2004. Maybe later versions are better?
First I could not get this game to run at all on my computer. EA's support pointed me in the wrong direction telling me that the my graphics card was not supported although I wrote them that the demo had worked fine.
After many hours of experimenting, surfing and exchanging the disk in the shop where I bought it, I finally found out that the aggressive copy protection used by EA prevented the game from loading on my DVD drive.

Thank God I found a hack on the Internet (nocd patch) that allowed me to run the game at all.

Next bad surprise: FIFA 2004 had beend advertised to have a controller configuration in patch 1.1. This is ridiculous: You can only configure the KEYBOARD! The default button layout for my joystick is very inconvenient, no fun at all to play like this. I bought another joystick (Saitek P2500) just for this game, but it was not properly supported either. Before you run out to buy the (only?) supported joypad for this game, a Logitech Dual Action Game Pad, read the reviews at Amazon about it: Unfortunately this joypad seems to have serious problems with the analog sticks at the time of this writing. I hope Logitech will fix this.

Bottom line: No way out for me. Invested about 50 hours to get this game to work properly for me without success. What a waste of time and money! I hope they will add proper joystick support in patch 1.2. Until then this game is useless if you do not like to control a football/soccer game with the keyboard.

It is obvious that this game was rushed out the door instead of giving the development team the time to do their job properly. Shame on the management and marketing of EA! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lot's of fun
QWC is the only Harry Potter game that you don't have to worry about the story. It is only Quidditch. I think that World Cup is frusterating, but Hogwarts is extremly fun. Some of the special moves are really creative. There is a lot of stuff that you have to work hard to get. However, the quidditch cards can be annoying.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good!
Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup has great animations. You can play as Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Japan, Geneology, Hoodlums, Boxers, ect. It is crap

2-0 out of 5 stars Harry Potter Quiditch Easy World Cup
This game is kinda fun; in multiplayer. But the inadjustable AI level makes it to EASY. In perspective just unlock everything and then just play multiplayer.

BOTTOM LINE
Only buy this if you have relatives willing to play.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but could have been better!
I was so excited when this game came out because I thought it will be very fun just like how quiddich should be but after I tired it at home it was just okay to me. I don't know about you but I am a huge HP fan so I don't know why this game wasn't so appealing to me as I thought it would be. I like the graphics and stuff in this game but if I were you, I would rather buy the Harry Potter 1, 2 or 3 computer game instead of this one. I mean, they have quiddich in them too just not so much like this one. It really irrates your eyes when you stare at the screen for so long chasing the snitch.

It's a good game but could been better.

4-0 out of 5 stars An out of control game
This game is really fun and has good 3-D appearances, but sometimes when you are flying it sort of goes out of control. For example, you're flying up the field and you're aiming for the goal hoop opposite the keeper and you're about to shoot the quaffle through the hoop when you're player suddenly passes the quaffle towards the other team and the other team catches it without you controlling the pass. It just does it by itself. It can make you lose a game easily and instantly. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars It knows what you have in your hand!
This game is OK for the basics, but don't expect anywhere near a real experience here. I can't tell you how many times I get beat on the last card, with just one higher card, say a 9 high to my 8 high. Always with only one card higher! That's not real. Plus, too many of the players are idiots, while a few are otherworldly lucky. It's nothing close to a random draw, and that's what you need for a real experience.

5-0 out of 5 stars This toy is so fun!
I first played this toy at my friends house and thought, "How fun!"Of course then I wanted the game for myself. When I bought it, I played every game and loved it right away. This game rocks!

Amazon.com Review

When Sony released the PlayStation2 last year, there were only a fewstandout games. One of them, SSX, brought snowboarding to people whodidn't even like snowboarding. Now, only a year later, PS2 fans get a new reasonto stay indoors during the cold winter months. SSX Tricky is the game, and it more than lives up to the moniker.

Tricky removes two characters from the previous game and adds five newones. It adds two new race locations to the already beefed-up World Circuit(Garibaldi and Alaska). The developers also added features to the older tracks, effectively making them new again. Tricky improves the graphics a bit andrefines the controls. The game even tweaks the basic gameplay by letting youupgrade your boarder's stats in races, but also forcing you to attempt andmaster the showoff mode. And EA improved the challenge by evening out thelearning curve. SSX tended to be a cakewalk until the later races in eachset, but this time your rivals get more intense and aggressive depending uponthe lap you're taking.

As in the first game, personality is everything. This is true not only in termsof voice acting, but also in how you treat opponents. The game has a few basicattitudes. If you block and attack characters too much, they'll remember andactively seek you out. If you help one or two of them, they'll become yourallies, warning you of danger or fending off attackers.

In many ways, SSX Tricky is only an upgrade of the previous game.Admittedly, the additions don't look like enough to justify buying the game allover again. But the changes are deep enough to change quite a bit, and they'lldelight even fans who are tired of, or who mastered, the first game. Maybethat's the most impressive über-trick of them all. --Bob Andrews

  • Refined controls and new tricks
  • Excellent computer intelligence and challenge

  • The graphics are only slightly improved

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Snowboarding Game Ever
This game is excellent. Any fan of snowboarding will love this game. This game has the best qualities. The soundtrack is phenomenal, the voices of the characters are some well known people, the controls and graphics are excellent, and how many snowboarding games has a guy with a huge orange 'fro named Eddie(and he's voiced by David Arquette). This game is excellent I recommend this game to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Goin' back ol' school, Tricky Style
Wow!What can I say!I love this game tremendously!I love everything about it!Where should I start?

I first became addicted to this baby, when I was commuting up to 4 hours daily, and had very little free time.I needed a game that provided a quick pick up and go game play style, with a short learning curve. That's what SSX Tricky, or Tricky for short, provides. But it is not short on the fun.I love to play this game with my son, 3 ½, and we've actually been playing it together since he was about 1, almost 2.It is most likely his favorite game.(We play several together, including SSX 3, Gran Turismo, Burnout 2, and many others.)And the fact that he can pick it up and enjoy it, speaks volumes about the enjoyment of it.

His favorite character is Zoe.I love Kaori! It's kind of funny, because he believes Zoe to be a man, and gets mad when I call her "her."When we play doubles, he insists that we both play the same character.I think he likes it to be fair.Lately, I've been racing Kaori against his Zoe.

This game offers many levels of increasing difficulty, and at least 8 fabulous courses to race on.I like how you can ride snowdrifts in Arizona and Hawaii, among other more traditional cold mountain get-a-ways.When I play this on my 55-inch wide screen, and I fall down a mountain, I feel my stomach getting butterflies, because you really fell like your skiing down a mountain.A total blast!

The thing that I also like about this game is it is one of the few videogame DVD's providing a healthy supply of bonus materials, including: Behind the scenes with the character voices/actors; Jukebox, where you can listen to every song in its entirety; previews of other EA Big games; interviews with staff, etc.Would be nice to see more videogames doing this!

Two W's up!Big time!

4-0 out of 5 stars One of playstation 2's best games
SSX Tricky is an awesome game. It's thrilling and challenging but easy enough so that children and adults alike can play. It's much better than ssx, and you can easily rack up points to score a top spot on the high score list. if you are not sure weather to purchase or not, i reccomend that you high-tail it on over to your nearest blockbuster or hollywood video and rent it. don't have a playstation? blockbuster allows you to rent the console as well. to rent a game is usually about $6 and the console is usually around $24 with a $300 deposit which you get back when you return the system a week later. i highly reccomend ssx tricky and once again, if you are not sure, try blockbuster or hollywood video. oh and some people might think that kids can't write reviews, right? well guess what, i just did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!
I bought a PS2 for my 10 year old last year and never had any interest in using it myself. Then I discovered SSX tricky. Awesome! From the soundtrack to the incredible graphics, from the gameplay to the characters, it doesn't disappoint. Best of all, the game is easy to learn, so newbies (including those of us who don't snowboard) can enjoy it right out of the box. You can zoom down the slopes, hit massive jumps, and pull off incredible tricks on your very first try.

Although easy to learn, it is tough to master and incredibly addictive. The advanced courses are very challenging, and no matter how good you get, you always want to take 'just one more run' to pull off better tricks or beat your best race time.

The game world is very realistic. You can ski off the course in search of a shortcut to the bottom, jump off cliffs looking for big air, grind on any surface (rails, fences, billboards...) and elbow your opponents in a race. There are traditional courses that look like a ski resort, but also courses through city streets (jump too high and you might hit a traffic light!), through untracked powder in Alaska, and an enormous terrain park.

There are multiple characters to choose from (male and female), each with a different personality. My daughter actually enjoys spending time putting different outfits on her favorite characters before each race.

I have also played SSX3, and there have been several reviews comparing the two. Here is my take:

1) Tricky is mode based- you navigate menus to select a course, choose racing or tricks, etc. SSX3 feels more like a day at the mountain, where you free ski over to a race, then to a halfpipe and so on. Which is better? It's really a matter of taste.

2) Tricky tries to build up rivalries between the characters. If you knock over an opponent, they develop animosity and gun for you in future races. Also, there is PG rated trash talk at the end of each race. I think the trash talking gets old (and repetitive) pretty quickly, but I enjoy the elbowing during the race, especially in two player mode :)

3) The music in SSX3 is more diverse, and you can customize your music as if you were carrying an MP3 player. As others have noted, SSX3 even seems to adjust the music to match your riding, with big crescendos when you land a jump.

4) I like the commentator in Tricky- he pumps things up. The commentator in SSX3 seems dull in comparison.

5) Tricky seems easier, especially for the novice. The first few courses are confidence builders, which is good for younger kids and adults who are only casual gamers, like myself. Also, tricky has a practice area where you can interactivley learn new tricks.

6) Tricky is about half the price

You can't go wrong with either version. However, I'd say Tricky is better for the budget minded, younger kids or casual gamers, while SSX3 is probably better for teens, serious gamers or hardcore snowboarders.

5-0 out of 5 stars SSX tricky
i think ssx tricky is one of the best games ive ever played on. im 14 and people might think, oh shes only a teenager, its just a phase shes going through but no, i think its brilliant. it took me a couple of weeks to get into it and now i can stop playing on it!!! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars ok
OK, this game is kinda good and I like it a bit.
The graphics are not so good and the bean challenges are sorta hard. The Basililsk is so dumb it like shoots little green thingies out of its mouth at you and you never get the sword. If I were to remake this game I would have you fight basililsk with sword, have you be able to fly the car, have more spells, make gringotts a little easier, and change the invisibility cloak(you find it in the hallway and it makes you invisible for a little while then goes back to where you found it-but is an advantage, its very hrd to sneak by Snape otherwise).

This is not worth your money, unless you are a Harry Potter total mainaic.

3-0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing and short

This game is fair, but disappointing. This is probably a game for a plane ride.Too short. And why in the world you have to kill the snake using spells and not a sword,a major flaw.

Graphics:4/5 a bit impressing
Audio:3/5 when using spells, why do they sound like spacecrafts?
Gameplay:3/5
replayability:2/5

4-0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this game
I received a GBA from my brother, & because I'm a fan of Harry Potter this was the 1st game I bought.I really enjoyed playing it, & found that I couldn't stop playing it!

I was impressed by the graphics, & the sound was pretty good (The last handheld I had was the original clunky Gameboy) so this was a suprise to see how it's changed graphically.

The story wasn't the best (Nothing like the Gamecube version), but I liked performing the tasks, & it was in a way almost relaxing to play this game.It definately made long drives less long.

Although I must admit I suck at Quidditch...Oh well, we can't all be a Viktor Krum...

1-0 out of 5 stars It'll help u get to sleep cause it is so boring!!!!!
This game is weak and it really is a waste of money. The graphics are ok but there is hardly any sound except beeps! There is no action, adventue or anything like that. It takes about an hour to complete if you're slow. The only good thing is well nothing!!! Don't buy this game cause it is a waste of your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars I liked it!
This was my second Harry Potter game, the first being Sorcerer's Stone on GBC.I loved this game!

Okay, so I'm one of the older people into games, but it was a nice challenge.Keeping me busy at the doctor's office, when I needed sleep but couldn't, and other activities too boring to mention.

The graphics were okay, much better than GBC.In reality, GBC sucked! After completing COS I went out and bought this one for GBA.Unfortunately, rule #1 is never buy it used.I need to purchase a NEW one!!

There are lots of things to turn, but it was never boring playing this game!!GET IT!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids
Looking for a non-violent game for an older preschooler or early elementary schooler? This might be it!! Use the "buddy" system to play with your child and overcome hilarious (at least to kids) challenges together. Here's an even better idea from a kid. Play a real-life version of Scream Arena. Throw lightweight balls at each other and give each ball a role (slow motion ball, sneeze ball, keep-me-for-as-long-as-you-can ball, etc.). This is a super family video game!!

4-0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Scream
How to have a video game that is fun to play but does not involve killings and violence?DODGE BALL!A great premise!Goofy!Hilarious. The Monsters Inc. characters go at it trying to whack each other with progressively zanier balls in progressively more unusual. You talk about a GREAT game for my 5 year old to play. And with the ability to play 4 players, the whole family can get into the goofy act. These are the warm moments that you recall with warm cocoa by the fire, how your preschooler whacked you with the disco ball!Great great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Dodge Ball, With a Twist
I am not the type of person who normally enjoys playing video games, but Disney and Pixar's Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena was an absolutely adorable and enjoyable video game. While intended to be primarily a game for children, Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena is an enjoyable game for children of all ages as well as adults.

The game starts out with a short clip from the movie Monsters, Inc. and then sends the player into Monstropolis, the city where all the monsters in the movie live. There are many different stages, each representing a scene from the movie, but in order to get into a particular scene the player must succeed at the preceding arenas.Once the player succeeds at one arena, the next arena is unlocked.

Once the player has selected the scene that he or she desires to play, the next step is to choose which monster he or she wants to be.I should mention that the game can either be a single player game where the player competes with the game itself or it can be a multi-player game, where the players can either compete head to head with each other, or work together to defeat the game's monsters.

Choosing your monster is, in my opinion, the best part of the game.Nearly every monster, if not every monster, from the movie is able to be selected for use.Once the player has selected a monster, the monster will greet him or her by saying something along the lines of, "Thanks for choosing me!"

Not only does the monster speak, but it also acts in the same manner that he or she did in the movie. The player's monster is then placed into the arena you have chosen, and the game begins. Some examples of the arenas you can choose from are: Main Street, Mike and Sully's Apartment, the Lobby of the Monsters, Inc. Building, and Harry Hausens, the restaurant in the movie.

My favorite arena is the one at the Chinese Restaurant. In this scene, like all the other scenes, the object is to hit the other monsters with balls while your monster avoids being hit.The twist in this room is that there's a disco ball.Every time a monster is hit, he or she is frozen in that spot and begins to disco dance, giving the other monsters a better chance of hitting him or her.

Not only is this game adorable, but it is very fun to play.I would highly recommend that if you have access to a Nintendo Game Cube, you rent Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena and play it with your friends. When I played it with my friends, we played for numerous hours every day we had the game, and never once got bored or tired of playing.Hopefully you will find Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena as enjoyable as I did.

1-0 out of 5 stars Far and Beyond the Worst!
This is easily the worst game I have ever played - (...) There is no plot, only a succession of increasily disapointing "games". It is challenging only on a sesame street level. If you buy this, make sure it's for a three year old!

1-0 out of 5 stars fun rental, bad buy
the game is fun for about one week(at longest), but after you beat it and get all the characters and levels, it's boring. the graphics are awful. i mean, sully(the big furry blue guy), doesn't look furry, he looks like he has giant blue spikes. i can't beleive they didn't take a little bit longer to make the graphics better. in short, i would rent it from blockbuster. if i had known better, that's what i would've done. wait, never mind that. only rent it if you're too curious not to. ... Amazon.com Review

CrazyTaxi was an arcade game turned Dreamcast showcase that reallyhelped sell the system. Now that the Dreamcast is on its last legs,Sega throws crazed drivers everywhere a bone by moving the sequel tothe system. Crazy Taxi 2 is the same as Crazy Taxi, onlycrazier!

First off, Sega moved the scenery from hilly San Francisco to thenarrow urban canyons of New York City--which is a bad thing if thehills in the first game were an attraction. But this one has CentralPark, and that's a thrill unto itself. Also, Crazy Taxi 2 letsyou pick up multiple passengers (on occasion), which is the best way tokeep that timer up and score bigger points.

Once again you've got aggravating and conspicuous advertising in thegame--from Burger King and KFC to clothing stores and other real-worlddestinations. Masters of Mayhem andOffspring supplythe music. The Offspring song is a new one--at least we're pretty sureit is--but like all Offspring songs it sounds like the one from thelast game.

Additionally, there are new Crazy Stunts you can perform. Crazy Golfentails a run at a massive ball, with a goal of smacking it a good 100yards. Crazy Balloon 2 challenges you to pop all the balloons in ashort span of time. Plus there are three more minigames you can play. You can play arcade style with a set time limit, or on a big or smallNYC map.

The controls are tight and easily as good as last time, but someplayers may still have trouble performing some of the more difficulttricks. Also, this game is extremely similar to the first one. Anyonebored with Crazy Taxi isn't going to find Crazy Taxi 2 abreath of fresh air. But the game is still really fun for players ofall ages. It's crazy, wild, and a completely realistic simulation of areal NYC cab ride. --Andrew S. Bub

Pros:

  • NY, NY is a heck of town
  • Same tried-and-true gameplay as the original
  • Lots of new minigames, drivers, and maps
Cons:
  • No hills
  • Same tried-and-true gameplay as the original

3-0 out of 5 stars Honestly I thought the 1st was better but still average..
Crazy Taxi 2 is the sequal to the Sega hit Crazy Taxi. Now I usually make bigger reviews to be honest I'll just make this my

SHORT and Sweet Review..

Now The 1st Crazy Taxi was DC game but lost its exclusitivity(yeah that sounds dumb but It just came up my head) and can be found on
Xbox
Gamecube and Ps2.Though the best version is the Dreamcast you can probably spend it on the Ps2 version or the other systems since DC games seem to be a pain to find now.

The graphics are solid and the gameplay loses its touch later on...OK MAYBE JUST FOR ME MAN!I didn't think the game was that great but like I said before...

Graphics good...gameplay...ehhh gets old. This is must for any Die Hard Dreamcast owner but For people who want more then just another sequal with "some" stuff stay clear away from this...I'm not saying the game is bad!I just think the 1st it better...

I really enjoyed the game over all and though it was an A-O-K Dreamcast Game..

I give CrAzY Taxi for the Sega Dreamcast a...

3.0 out5 stars.....

*NOTE*

Other then Crazy Taxi the Sega Dreamcast(R.I.P) has some really awesome amazing games... Some for example Sonic Adventure, Marval Vs Capcom2(and yes the DC version is the best mainly cause it was the original version and it was DC exclusive at one point)

And yeah.....well..

Lates..

4-0 out of 5 stars Addictive Fun
The reason that "Crazy Taxi 2" doesn't get a prefect 5-star rating is that it's only one player, which destroys the possibility of what potentially would be the most enjoyable way to play the game, sitting beside a friend frantically competing to pick up the most customers and money, last the longest without running out of time, etc.
That said, Crazy Taxi 2 functions surprisingly well as a party game. Something about the bright visuals, loud sound effects, and raucus music, along with the fast pace of the action -- there is always a new task to complete -- make it almost as much fun to watch someone play the game as it is to play oneself. I've often found myself cheering along with a friend's efforts. (Or jeering, depending on my mood)
As for playing solo, make sure you clear your schedule. While an individual game might only take five minutes, one can easily sink hours into trying to earn more money, a better license, etc... the very fact that "one more game" takes such a short amount of time contributes to the addiction.
In short, if you can pick this game up at a gamestop or on Ebay, I highly reccomend it as one of the better Dreamcast titles.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun for a while but a game with NO depth is destined to fail
Crazy Taxi 2 is fun for a while but when you either beat the pyramid or become upset because its too hard to beat then the game will slowly make its way to the bottom of your collection.

It has great graphics and tight control but the music is a letdown and my aren't those cab drivers crude. The game is a welcome addition to any Dreamcast library even if it will eventually get old.

1-0 out of 5 stars do not buy this game.
this game is the worst game of all time. it has horrible graphics horrible camera angles and bores the crap out of you quickly. everything looks so basic and dull the game is no fun at all. the cars dont move in the direction you want them to. i like trying out games a lot. but im sorry i ever checked out this garbage. for a fun time check out any grend theft auto or the most recent nascar game. this game is really bad and should definitely go down without notice. im so glad i only rented this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars another great game by sega
This is one of my favorite games, i cant understand
why sega fall with games like this.
Its original, funny, its a challenge beat this game,
awesome graphics, the control its easy well i can
say a lot of more good things about him.
Once you started you cant stop playing this game,
the crazy pyramid oh you gonna have problems with
the last 2 misions, and of course...
Buy it!
And learn from SEGA, nintendo. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The second best game in the world
This is one fun game! I could play it for 9 hours. The graphics are good. I think that the levels are cool. One problem is that some of the stuff didn't happen.I wish the orc bodies didn't dissapear. It would make it look more like real life.

2-0 out of 5 stars Cool Hack and Slash Marred by Major Flaws
And I actually bought this game twice...ouch! Once was as a gift for someone with a Mac, and once for myself on PC.

Had I known about the three major problems it has from seeing it on the Mac, I wouldn't have bothered to get it for myself, but alas, it wouldn't run on the Mac as that machine's a bit dated (the machine was almost three years old).

The problems this game has make it almost unplayable (at least on a PC not used as a dedicated game machine). Not only is this very unfortunate, but it's also a little strange considering the huge amount of effort that was put into the game's strong points: graphics, sound and animation. These are truely impressive. For example, the ghosts on "Paths of the Dead" dodge and move with surprising realism...well, despite the fact they're dead! Even the stride of the main characters has been faithfully reproduced. This is incomplete contrast with the game's three glaring flaws:

* Difficult and imprecise keyboard/mouse control

* Disfunctional autocamera

* No save function

This seriously leaves me to wonder whether any quality assurance was done on the PC port to test for overall playability beyond "o.k., it runs, ship it!" (This was originally designed as a console game.)It is virually impossible for someone to play this game and not notice these problems almost immediately. QA on the FX part of this game was obviously extensive...but what about playability?

The first problem (game controls), you can actually work around somewhat through practice, or pretty much completely by using a gamepad. So, o.k., that one's not fatal in and of itself. Still, this can sometimes leave you wondering if the character you are controling isn't a complete drunk.

The autocam behavior is more problematic. It can be quite frustrating to have boulders, walls and other objects come between you and the character you are controling during a battle, essentially making you fight blind. This can happen with opponents and allies as well, but at least they become semi-transparent so you can still have some idea of what you're doing. The camera--which seems to pay much more attention to providing a cinematic POV than the game player--also often does not let you see what your character is obviously seeing, which can result in nasty surprises, or just a plain inability to see where you are going/running. On top of that, the bad camera and character control actually add up. When the POV automatically changes, the character can unexpectedly start moving in a different direction, because character direction is determined relative to POV. Handy. This all makes the final flaw pretty much fatal....

This game has NO SAVES. That's right. No saves. At least not in a PC sense. Of course, the developers don't expect you to go through the whole game in one sitting (this is very considerate of them), but they DO expect you to go through a whole LEVEL in one sitting, however long it make take to get through it. Leave the field of battle before a level is finished and when you return you'll have to do the entire level again. Now, there are these areas in the game called "Checkpoints", but they DO NOT create a save file to let you return to that point in the game at a later session. They only let you return to the checkpoint if you get killed, but YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE GAME. Want to go to bed after finally defeating the King of the Dead? Can only get back to that NEXT WEEKEND? Well, you're going to have to leave the game running 'til then. Combined with the difficult controls and half-baked camera POVs, both of which can easily get you killed through no fault of your own, the inablity to "quicksave" is extremely frustrating. But the lack of at LEAST savefile generation at "checkpoints" is completely unforgiveable. Not to mention that even the "checkpoints" are pretty few and far between.

Given it's major flaws, one has to wonder, "How does this rate as a GAME in spite of its LotR 'skin'?" How would this game rate, with all it's strong and weak points, if it had been "The Adventures of the Billy the Bandit" (i.e., no connection with LotR)? Probably just 3 or 4 out of 10. It would have been noted in passing for its outstanding production values, then been left quickly and completely by the wayside because of it's lack of playability. And that's truely ashamed for a LotR title, especially considering that what's missing are really the smallest of things...but how important they are!

5-0 out of 5 stars BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a thirteen year old girl, and this is my favorite game of all time.I love The Lord of the Rings, and I have been waiting for this kind of game for a long time. You are actually fighting the orcs, trolls, and mumakil-not just sending people to fight them like you would in a stragety game. Here are some things I particularly like about it:

First of all, the levels you go through are in order of the events that happened. There is the path of the wizard where you get to be Gandalf, the path of the king where you can choose between Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli, and the path of the hobbits, where you can be Frodo or Sam.There are 12 normal levels, and two bonus levels at the top called palantirs (whoever has read the books/seen the movies knows what a palantir is).

One of my favorite things is that after you finish all the levels, you get to go back and do them again and you get to be WHOEVER YOU WANT.There are also three secret characters who get unlocked if you beat the game and you can be them, too. There are 3 settings-easy, medium, and hard. The first level gives you instructions as you go, and the easier levels are near the bottom and the harder ones are near the top.

As for the fighting-it's relatively simple. The left mouse button is speed attack (used for unshielded enemies), right mouse button is heavy attack (used against shielded enemies-don't use this too much or you will be vulnerable), you use the a,s,d, and w keys to control where you go, parrying (blocking other attacks) is q, holding down shift and pressing the left mouse button is ranged attack (arrows, throwing knives etc.) and there are also some keys that you only use occasionally, like tab is jump back, Ctrl is physical attack (punch, kick, push etc.) and F5 is the special ability-with each character it's different. But this is only half of the fighting.

The other half is combos. You can buy upgrades and combos with experience points you earn in the game by killing enemies.Combos are when you press the keys in a certain order and something completely different happens that is very useful against enemies at certain times. One that is particularly useful is Orc Hewer-it is left mouse button, left mouse button, right mouse button. It is a powerful attack. There are different levels your characters can upgrade to and buy more upgrades. The upgrade-buying stops at ten, but the character can go up to level twenty (but it takes some time!).

This may all seem confusing at first, but when you play it for a while you get it all figured out and then you will appreciate how wonderful this game is.I know I have.If this game seems violent to you by the reviews, don't worry-it's not as violent as it sounds. If you love The Lord of the Rings and computer games and have a little patience and an open mind to this game, you will LOVE it.I guarantee that.

Happy Playing!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 IS THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED. THERE IS GREAT GRAPHICS AND LOTS OF PLAYERS. I WOULD SPEAD MY MONEY ON THIS GAME IF I WAS YOU. NO ONE CAN TURN THIS GAME DOWN, BUY NOW!

5-0 out of 5 stars 7 New Courses Add To The Golfing Fun In 2003
More of the same fun in EA's visually stunning 2003 version of "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003". A most realistic golf SIM if there ever was one. Brilliant scenery. Trees and brush swaying randomly as winds pass them. An occasional animal or bird can be seen or heard. Smooth character movements (outside of one camera angle where any of the golfer's neck looks awkward). The "Total Precision" Swing" takes away the distracting swingmeter. 13 courses in 2003 (compared to 6 in the 2002 edition). All the various modes of play are back, including Tournament/Match/Stroke/Skins/Speed. More pro players join the ranks... Singh, Appleby, Els, Leonard, Furyk, Cink, etc... not to mention a handful of unknown amateurs made just for the game. I know the 2004 is all ready out, but maybe the 2005 version will bring about some "fantasy" course where you could play or unlock the old-timers... like Arnold Palmer, Curtis Strange, Tom Watson, or the 'Golden Bear' himself. The one and only thing wrong with this game is that there is NO save capability while you're playing a course... you must complete all 18 holes before you can save your game. Huge reply value - alone or with friends. Great graphics. Great game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 is a realistic simulator game. It features hundreds of players such as Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Justin Leonard, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink, Stuart Appleby and Tiger Woods himself. Other features include 13 courses, online ranking, scenarios and an all new skillzone. Extremely likeable and easy to pick up. 9/10.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome
This is by far the best golf game I've ever played. Everything is so realistic, from the way you have to swing the club, to playing the wind, and the graphics are the best I've seen on a golf game, the courses look real. It's almost like real life. I don't think there is a downside to this game, it's damn near perfect. This game is a must have for any fan of golf.

1-0 out of 5 stars don't buy this
This game is badly designed, it runs VERY SLOW and VERY glitchy, the career mode will not keep up with your ability and there is no reason to waste your money on this . Unless you absolutely must fantasize about having Tiger Woods as a virtual partner.
dont bother investing in it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Although the Pokémon aspect of Pokémon PuzzleLeague is purely thematic--which might disappoint lovers of Pikachu, whilestill warding off nonfans--the fun and challenging gameplay here makes thistitle one of the best in the puzzle genre.

Gameplay in Pokémon Puzzle League is a variation on the puzzleclassic Tetris: players must clear blocks off the screen by switchingadjacent horizontal blocks to create horizontal and vertical lines of three ormore identically colored blocks. Blocks rise in rows from the bottom of thescreen, and, once they reach the top, the game is over. While it's deceptivelyeasy at first, the steadily increasing speed of the rising blocks requiresplayers to make combos (more than three blocks in a line) and chains (creatingmultiple lines simultaneously), both of which pause the rise of the blockstemporarily.

Featuring six gaming modes and puzzles in both 2-D and 3-D, PokémonPuzzle League is best played by one player versus the computer (in theStadium) or in two-player "versus" mode. In these modes, creating combos andchains causes "garbage" blocks to fall from the top of your opponent's screen, which results in some villainously vindictive gameplay.--Joe Hon

Pros:

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!
Even if you hate Pokemon, but like puzzle games, you will love this! It's very addicting, I really enjoy playing it! It's even better than Tetris! Give it a try!

5-0 out of 5 stars tetris on speed only more competitive
My roommates in college and I played this every day for a semeseter. Some of our friends bought N64 just for this game. The Pokemon element is annoying and has nothing to do w/ the game and only makes people look at you funny when you try to tell them how cool the game is.Were this Mario's puzzle league it would probably have the name recognition Dr Mario enjoyed.the folks at nintendo botched this one.If you play this long enough you almost enter the matrix so to speak, you can set up huge combos, the head to head 2d mode is my favorite and it's a blast to play w/ your friends. Drinking a little when you play seems to help too. This is like tetris on speed only more competitive b/c the head to head mode also includes strange trash talk from wierd little pokecharacters.dont let the annoying little creatures stop you from checking out this game, its one of the best i've come across.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is SO addictive!
And so so fun!I play it ALL the time when I get bored (got it used at a blockbuster for 9$!) and love it.It's just like Tetris Attack, but harder (good for someone like me who graduated quickly from the limited difficulties of the Tetris Attack version!)The 3-d mode is fun too!My mom hates the repeating sounds, though... so I sometimes turn it down for her!

4-0 out of 5 stars you will be tempted to play this obsessively, but don't!
With puzzle-type games, it's easy to start an addiction.Especially with games as fun as Pokemon Puzzle League. It's a basic and familiar premise: match up 3 or more blocks of the same color and watch them disappear.Based on this simple idea, several different types of 1-player modes were created, as well as a 2-player mode. All are fun to play, and some of the 1-player modes are quite challenging.
Now about my addiction... err... the possibility of addiction... If you constantly play this game (espceially the 1-player mode), you will get too good at it, and the challenge, as well as the fun, will be lost.Fortunately for you, this should take many many months during which you will enjoy several games with your friends and by yourself.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not only for the young, but only for the young at heart...
I'm 24 and I loved this game. I don't tend to like shooting or racing games; I like the ones with stories, characters, scenery, strategy. Yes, this game is easy, but it really is fun. You drive in a cart (you don't get to control the cart, though; it's like a ride at an amusement park: it just goes) through various environments (beach, river, valley, volcano, etc.) trying to get pictures of different Pokemon. Some are out in the open and easy to shoot, some won't appear without lots of experimentation and/or observation and strategizing. The goal is to get the best shot you can of each different Pokemon. When you get to the end of a level, you pick which pictures you want to show to the Professor for whom you're working. He rates them on different qualities and stores them for his report. You can go back to each level as often as you like trying to get the best pictures. A simple game with fun graphics. ... Read more

Before the Game Boy Color, one-player hands of Uno were pretty rare. Thanks to this game, however, a quorum is no longer needed. Just like the popular color- and number-matching card game, players must whittle their sets of cards down to that trim number, one, and even lose that if they're to win. This version of the game also brings colorful animation, sound, and a new variant--Challenge Uno--to the game. You don't have to play alone, though--you can connect to a friend's copy of the game through the separately sold Game Link cable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't sleep at night without it!!!
I love this game and the cards don't get lost.I play everynight before bed and take it on business trips with me.I get really sleepy watching the cards move and find it relaxing.More so than a meditation tape.Easy for my children to play.

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS GAME
I bought mine used from "hope9wizard".I received my game under a weeks time. thankyou hope... for speedy response time - folks go ahead ahead buy any games from them. Now the game is real cool it has several variations on playing the original Uno. I love it. two thumbs up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic game you can play by yourself...
It took me a while to find this game and I must say that it was well worth the search! The game is played the same way as the classic card game except that you can play alone. It is so addictive, I found myself playing an hour at a time and GBC Uno would make an ideal travel game.

There is an option to play regular Uno or Challenge Uno, which plays like regular Uno but is scored differently. There are 3 additional decks to choose from. Be forwarned though that it can be a bit hard for some to read the numbers on the cards with the other decks. You can choose 2-4 players, difficulty level, speed that the cards are played and score total, which can be set from 100-2000 points. There is also an option to turn off both the music and the effects which are cute but can be a bit long. If you want to keep the flow of the game smooth running I suggest turning off the effects.

Overall this is an exciting and fun, addictive game that will keep you occupied, probably more than you like, and the best part of it all is that you can play by yourself! Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game! Our kids love this card game!
Our kids love this card game & knew that the gameboy game would be a hit...I was right! They now can play together on the gameboy or alone against the gameboy it's self.I found myself playing it for 30 minutes!! There are fun themes from Groovy to Western. If you have Uno fans with a Gameboy this is the game for them!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game for the Price

3-0 out of 5 stars Overrated
It's probably just me, but this video game doesn't fit my taste like the old-school games do.The 'excitement' found here is nothing compared to a wedding reception or a high-school prom (depending on what moves you make).Plus, only segments of the songs are included. This could be better if the whole song was played. At least that's my opinion.

I found it watching others participate, but I've been forced to give it a try to one of the 'slower' songs. Not many moves. Not too much fun.

This game seems okay if you want a good workout.I'm not bashing this game.In contrast, it might grow on me over time.Right now, I ... I may be too old-fashioned.:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweat to the Beat...
First off, let me get the one bad point out of the way. I don't like the music. It's okay and I didn't expect better from a dance game but it just isn't to my taste.

Okay, now all the good. If played diligently, this game will work on your rhythm, reflexes, stamina and timing. I even found it easy to push myself into playing 3 times longer after I started getting tired and actually felt like I was dancing after just a few hours. A few of the levels are easy enough for a beginner but I would recomend taking real dance lessons if you can get through the harder ones.

And finally the technical. This game has a wide range of options on how you can play with it's game, workout, lesson, and trining modes. Each with verying difficulties. Combine this with it's 25+ songs and you should never get board playing it.

It's an all around great game so get your hand out of that bag of crisps and dance!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this game to death!
This is one of the best games I've ever played. My brother got it for Christmas and I've already beat all 32 levels.(Only on easy, though.) Its really fun (and quite addictive!). If you're tryingto lose weight, theres a "workout mode" that tracks how many calories you burn. Its an awesome game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Learning to love dance
This dance is alot of fun!

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring... and no good songs.
Yes, it's actually worse than arcade mix 3... they really didn't include any of the good songs.Luckily there are other games like Konamix and DDRMAX out already so you don't have to bother with this one.Features the horrible original revolving discs interface. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to beat
It will keep your kids busy for at least a month.Easier than Wrath of Cortex.Pretty good for a GBA game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super, but they can do better.
When ever a psone game hit's a new console it allways forget's something's.This game is the same thing. It was a great hit but they forgot a lot of important things. The game is called "The Huge Adventure" so you might think that the game is really big.WRONG!The game is super small.I can finished it a 100% in a maximum time of 6 hour's.Well the game is preety much the same as crash 2 and warped.Like the space, rocket, bike and underwater levels are from crash warped, amd the icy cave, polar ride, jungle and drain levels are from crash 2.The boss aren't different either.Like Tiny,N.Gin and cortex are from Crash 2, while Dingondile is from Crash warped. The other thing is that in the past Crash games there were in a total of 25 crystal's.While in this game there's only 20 crystal's.Allso in the past games of crash except crash 1, there were 5 boss. But in this game there's only 4, without the monster.Anyway's here are the pros and cons.

Pros:
Gameplay is really cool 10/10
Nice graphics9.6/10
Sounds,excellent10/10
If you're a Crash fan you'll like the music8.9/10

Cons:
TOO SHORT!
Not enough boss
Forgot a lot of things from the past crash games, but since this is crash's first gba game it's ok.

In an overall is games great and is a must to buy, but you'll finish it quickly.Get the game right away if you're a crash fan.If not rent it first. But still i say that get the game if i were you.

I know that if I go back I can do better and get more crystals. I love the game. My son loves it too. He really enjoys playing it. A bonse it can hold his atteniton.

4-0 out of 5 stars Crash - Great Game!

1-0 out of 5 stars Unrealistic
In real baseball, there are no such things as batting cursors. In real baseball, hitting mechanics don't involve placing a stupid cursor to a certain spot according to the type of pitch the hitter estimates will be thrown (the cursor becomes a shade of red if you've guessed it right in this game but not always a guarantee the pitch will be delivered in that particular area). In real baseball, you simply keep your eye on the ball and simply time your swing just right if its at all hittable. Contact can be made here, but not so much with skill, but blind luck. I give it 1 star for decent graphic detail but tah.. that's it.

4-0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING!
I AM A BASEBALL FANATIC. I LIVE AND BREATH FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL TO COME AROUND. I HAVE PLAYED JUST ABOUT EVERY BASEBALL GAME EVER MADE FOR ANY SYSTEM. FOR CHRISTMAS MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WORLD GOT ME A GAMECUBE. I WENT RIGHT OUT AND BOUGHT TWO BASEBALL GAMES MLB SLUGFEST 2003 AND ALLSTAR BASEBALL 2003. SLUGFEST WAS OK BUT ALLSTAR BASEBALL WAS HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. THE GRAPHICS WERE OK BUT THE GAME PLAY JUST STUNK. I WAS SO MAD THAT I TOOK IT BACK AND TRADED IT FOR THIS GAME CALLED.........
HOMERUN KING. I WAS ABSOLUTLEY STUNNED BY THE GRAPHICS AND BY THE GAME PLAY ITSELF. NEVER BEFORE HAVE I ENCOUNTERED A BASEBALL GAME WITH THIS KIND OF GAME PLAY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I WAS GLAD THAT I FOR ONCE ACTUALLY HAD TO WORK A LITTLE FOR HIT INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO BLAST ONE EVERYTIME I CAME UP. IT IS BY FAR THE BEST PITCHER/BATTER INTERACTION I'VE EVER SEEN. I DON'T KNOW IF I'D CALL IT ARCADE EITHER, THE PLAYERS AND STADIUMS LOOK VERY REAL. SOME GAMES HAVE GREAT GRAPHICS AND NO GAME PLAY. ON THE OTHER HAND SOME GAMES HAVE GREAT GAME PLAY AND NO GRAPHICS. IN THIS GAME WE WERE BLESSED WITH BOTH. IF I NEVER SEE ANOTHER BASEBALL GAME I AM GLAD JUST TO HAVE THIS ONE. I WOULD GIVE IT SIX STARS IF I COULD!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This game's great. It needs some getting used to and then you get the hang of it. There are four different games modes: Exhibition, Season, Playoffs, and Home Run Derby. You can also trade players, create players, and edit teams. Hitting is a little difficult but not very hard. Commentary isn't good but I don't buy the game to listen to announcers. And if you want to, there's something called playing aids for pitching, batiing, and fielding. They can be used to make things easier or harder. For Example: If you made the batting aid meter full, your batting cursor will be a lot bigger. Or if you made the fielding aid meter empty, You do all of the work in the field.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a dumb game
Dont buy it. one time I hit a ball and it went up the middlle. the announcer said" down the 3rd base line. it stupid

1-0 out of 5 stars I hate it !!!

Editorial Review

Seaman is quite possibly the weirdest video game to everbe released. It's also one of the most incredibly original titles in avery long time. And if you don't believe me, just ask the frisky Seaman,a fish/reptile with a human face--it isn't shy.

According to legend, this strange creature is the discovery of scientistJean Paul Gasse. The weird-looking beast was documented to have analmost grotesque look about it, as it had the body of a reptile and theface of a man. Yet it was able to talk and reason with the doctor aswell as your average human. And while the good doctor was laughed intoobscurity after trying to explain his discovery, you have theopportunity to raise a Seaman from egg to its fishlike state and beyond.

Not only must you keep Seaman well fed and warm, you'll find thatconversation (via the included microphone) with Seaman is a must. Thescaly inquisitor will probe into your personal life by asking about yourage, marital status, and favorite music, among other things. Also, iftreated well this creature will spew its (usually sarcastic) rantings onpop culture, the Internet, and even reality itself. There's even a touchof sexual innuendo that may raise a few eyebrows. I doubt your goldfishever did that.

The speech recognition is far from perfect, but there's no doubt thatthe gimmick almost always causes a smile when you realize how longyou've been conversing with a fish and just how many words it doesrespond to. The simplistic graphics often make Seaman look like he'sswimming in space rather than in a huge tank, but this game makes noclaim to break new ground in graphics--it's the speech recognition thatis most noteworthy. Star Trek veteran Leonard Nimoy acts asnarrator, bringing all of the emotion of Spock (read: none) to hisperformance--yet somehow it works.

Since the Seaman can starve or freeze if not tended to regularly(raising this thing will take weeks), it might be a good idea to investin another Visual Memory Unit to store the status of Seaman's habitatand your performance.

It's hard to say just how much "game" is actually in this title. Rather,Seaman offers an interesting life journey through birth, growth, death, rebirth, and change. Seaman offers a unique Dreamcastexperience that is both disturbing and fascinating. --Mark Brooks

Pros:

  • A very ugly fish that talks--how cool is that?
  • Seaman can recognize quite a surprising number of words with theincluded microphone, and he talks back
  • Easy to play
  • Sarcastic wit (read: very American) and humor can be good for a fewlaughs
Cons:
  • Speech recognition is inconsistent (often words are completelymisunderstood)
  • Graphics are suitably simplistic but never really deliver thefeeling that Seaman is swimming in water
  • Probably doesn't taste good with chips

5-0 out of 5 stars I love you Seaman
Like others here have already said- this game isn't for everyone. In fact, it's only for a select few gamers- the kind that are looking for new and strange things. It's cool that Sega never cares about money, and is always the one company we can count on for innovation. It's just too bad that they never get the credit they deserve. Sega's always been ahead of their time, as we saw with the Dreamcast.

Anyway, I love this "game". When I first got it when it came out, I wasn't really sure what to expect. You actually do take on the role of a scientist, creating life before your very eyes. You start out with an empty tank, and an egg + some food pellets in your inventory. Place the egg in the tank, and set the heat to 19.9 (under 20 at least), and the oxygen all the way up. After a few minutes, the egg hatches, and you get mushroomers. Soon after, the natilus starts moving, and eats your mushroomers. Make sure that it leaves at least one alive. Try tapping on the glass away from the natilus to draw the mushroomer(s) closer to you. After a few minutes, the natilus comes out of its shell and dies. Now, you have Seamen.

Yeah, I bet that sounds boring to you. For the first 2-3 days, you teach Seaman small words (like "hello", "afternoon", "seaman", etc.), but the baby Seamen start killing eachother, and you're left with two. As they grow up, their voices become very deep and cool. Seaman is quite the scholar. He'll ask you questions about your life and what you like whenever you talk to him. Of course, you can only put in 15 hours of gameplay a day, and you'll be doing just fine...as your talk sessions don't last that long. They're more of a Q&A. But that's ok, I enjoyed the responses Seaman gave me. When I told him my birthday, he told me that I share it with Elizabeth Hurley and a few other cool celebrities. Thanks Seaman!

The voice recognition isn't as bad as people say. As long as you speak clearly and not too fast, Seaman should be able to understand most of the things you say to him. Please give Seaman a chance, he's a good guy. And you'll be sad to let him go in the end.

5-0 out of 5 stars seaman is great!
this game is really fun. it's kinda like a sim mixed with a giga pet. you feed it , raise it, take care of it, and of course, talk to it. yes, some of the time the words are missunderstood, but if you talk loud and clearly enough, it's just fine.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Great the First Few Times......... (3.5 stars)
....but after you've beat it and played it a couple times, it gets really old very quickly. But, this game is %100 original!A very unique and cool concept.I just think more could've been done to keep the replay value up a bit.

The graphics:Amazing
The sound:Very good
Concept:Out of this world!
Replay Value: Gets boring after you play it enough

So the only reason why I'm giving this 3.5 stars instead of 4 is because, let's face it, it can get old very quickly.Plus, you have to have A LOT of free time to keep him alive!!!I used to have that time in high school, but now starting my second semester at college, well.....time isn't as free any more.

It's a game that should be checked out, though.Just be warned, you might get bored with it real quick.I thought it was the greatest game at first, but then it seemed like nothing new happens.Once you beat it, that's it.Replay value is the only major flaw with the game.

The GameCube, like the PlayStation and Dreamcast before it, gets its game data from unwriteable disc media, so, unlike Nintendo's cartridge-based games of yore, you'll need this accessory to save your place in the game, store your preferences, and preserve the stats of your sports games. The GameCube Memory Card 59 is really small--about the size and weight of a poker chip--and comes with 4 MB flash memory (divided into 59 blocks, hence the name), which should be enough to get you started. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good memory card, but small in size
HI, i purchased this card for just a test, and it's working fine, however if you will purchase games like Hitman 2, the saved games will completely eat it. It uses a lot of space.

4-0 out of 5 stars GameCube Memory Card Review
This is a great little memory card for the occasional gamer. If you either do not have a lot of games or you only play a little bit then this is the card for you.If you play a lot I would suggest a larger memory card.

3-0 out of 5 stars MEMORY CARD 59
I HAVE A NINTENDO GAMECUBE AND I MUST SAY THAT WITH ALL OF THE GAMES I PLAY ON IT, I NEED MORE MEMORY THAN JUST 59 BLOCKS.FOR THE SERIOUS GAMER, IN MY OPINION, YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THE MEMORY CARD 251.THIS UNIT HAS ROUGHLY 4 TIMES THE MEMORY SPACE AND WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY.FOR TWICE THE PRICE YOU GET FOUR TIMES THE MEMORY SPACE.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get a Memory Card 251 instead
You may have noticed the Gamecube's Memory Card 59 is surprisingly affordable. Why, you ask? Simple.

It doesn't save nearly as much data as most memory cards.

Just recently, Nintendo released the Gamecube Memory Card 251, which costs a little more, but is a considerably better value due to the fact that it saves over four times as much data. Get one of those instead. Don't get a 59 unless you can find it for a VERY low price.

3-0 out of 5 stars Reliable, but small
I'm not quite sure why Nintendo even bothered releasing this memory card given it's relativly small memory capacity. But if there is one thing I can attest to it's that Nintendo's first party memory cards are far more reliable than those developed by other companies.

Reliability Rating: 5 Stars
Capacity Size Rating: 2 Stars

But since the Memory Card 59 only slightly cheaper than Nintendo's now availiable Memory Card 251, I would highly encourage you to pick up the 251 instead. You will not be dissapointed. ... Read more

This is not the origanal Space Invaders I remember from the arcade. It's more like a 3D Galaxian. It was hard for me to get over the differences. That said, my daughter really liked it with the exeption of "all the reading bits you have to 'A' through to get to the game part".It is a bit much to click through every time....
If you haven't grown up with the origanal, you won't notice the difference and will most likely enjoy the game.It is a good challenge if you like shooting games.

Sure the graphics aren't stunning but for some unexplicable reason this game is just plain fun, I haven't yet treid out multiplayer but I know that the regular game is really fun!

This has to be the worst controller ever!! if you need a controller that bad than buy a real one for $15 more. This controller lasted a whole 3 days and broke! I am writting the makers now!

4-0 out of 5 stars waste of money
I have had 2 of these fail to work right out of the box.I plan on returning it again for a third only because toys r us wont let me exchange it for somthing else.Don't buy!

1-0 out of 5 stars Total Garbage
