4-0 out of 5 stars Still Great Games
We actually purchased all of the titles individually when they were first published (we still don't have the Friends game). They are all very good games. My 6 year old son has learned to play Chess so well from this that he can beat his parents more than half the time.Legoland was so addictive that he and I played nothing else for about 2 weeks straight.I still find I like creating parks from scratch.

My only complaint: Can't run Lego Creator under Windows XP.Lego Alpha Team's sound is dodgy under Windows XP.I wish Lego Media would provide a minor patch for these products.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not impressed.
I bought this software for my son, who is a Lego fanatic. His favorite is the Legoland software, where you build your own amusement park. This seems great until you try to play it for awhile and it keeps telling you that you are low on items.Even after you add everything it still dumps you out so you have to start again.Very frustrating for a kid or adult! We haven't played the chess game yet, but the others are far from being the best games on the market.

4-0 out of 5 stars Chess Master wannabe
This review is specifically for the Lego Chess cd. My 5 year old absolutely loves it and has enjoyed it for hours on end. That cd alone is worth the price of the whole set! It is very user-friendly and he has gotten so good as a direct result of playing Lego Chess that we will be entering him in grade level tournaments in January. With your choice of cowboy, pirate, and soldier themes and a variety of animations that take place when a piece is captured makes this game a learning experience that is great fun! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Very short, but not linear either.
My first time through it was only 3-and-a-half hours later! But to add depth, you search through a maze of rooms to find 3 missing pieces to the door. Enemies aren't smart and are quite stupid. Bosses are slow and easy to beat. I recommend something else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Monsters,Inc.
This game has no instructions in box, this is a new game factory sealed. Very unhappy with purchase.I had trust in toy's r us.
This game would have been better with the instructions that come in all new games.

4-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I bought this game for my 5 year old daughter who loved the movie. She won't play this on her gameboy at all. She plays with her sister's Nemo game. Don't waste your money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Monsters Inc
This game is great for the first few weeks but then it gets hard . It has great graphis and is just like the movie. I recamend you to buy it.

1-0 out of 5 stars This game stincks
This game is so boaring and stupid. All you do is run around and find puzzle pieces to "boos door".I gave up on it after the first level. It also takes no skill at all.If you can push buttons then you can beat the game in no time at all. Amazon.com Review

Video games don't get much cuter than Hey You, Pikachu!, a Pokémon title that allows players to talk to their favoriteelectric mouse--via the Voice Recognition Unit (VRU) that's included--and sharein its day-to-day adventures. While older Pokémon fans might findthe game too childish, the candy-coated goodness that's found here makes itperfect for the kiddies.

With the abstract goal of building a friendship with Pikachu, playerscommunicate with it by speaking certain keywords and phrases into the VRU'smicrophone. Although Pikachu's speech is limited to variations on its own name(e.g., "Pika! Pika!"), it expresses itself through thought bubbles and thegame's adorably animated 3-D graphics.

Mastering this interaction is key to solving Hey You, Pikachu!'s puzzleelements, which are encapsulated in various squeaky-clean activities in whichyou and Pikachu participate together. While the voice recognition here isn'tperfect by any means, there's plenty of on-screen help and guidance to keepplayers from getting too frustrated. --Joe Hon

Pros:

  • Allows players to interact verbally with Pikachu
  • Adorably animated 3-D graphics
  • Plenty of onscreen help and guidance
Cons:
  • Voice recognition not perfect by any means
  • Might be too childish for older Pokémon fans

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite Pokémon N64 adventure!
It's nice to be able to have a Pokémon adventure that does not include continuous battles with other trainers, this is what makes games such as a Pokémon Stadium or Pokémon Puzzle League sort of boring after a while and makes games like this one and Pokémon Snap a break from constant battling.
"Hey you, Pikachu!" is one of the most innocent child-oriented Pokémon 3D Adventures, it takes you away from the standard world of Pokémon trainers into the world of Pokémon caregivers and your task is to raise a little wild Pikachu you find deep in Viridian Forest.Pikachu will take you along on picnics, fishing trips, piñata parties and simple fieldtrips where you meet a bunch of Pokémon favorites in their natural habitats.Sadly, only the sweetest and cutest Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Oddish or Poliwag are included, larger, meaner Pokémon like Onix or Electabuzz (To name a pair) had to be excluded since they didn't fit in the game. The game has different places to visit, some of them come from the Pokémon Game Boy games and some are completely new.You can help Pikachu take care of little Caterpie and help them evolve into Metapod and then pretty Butterfree, help collect ingredients to have a picnic with Bulbasaur and help Pikachu water Oddish and evolve them into Gloom and Vileplume. The adventure is a lot of fun and the greatest thing about is the fact that the game does not revolve around making selections with the controller buttons, but you can actually use your own voice with a special Nintendo 64 exclusive device included with the game.

I've heard a lot of complaints about this VRU (Voice Recognition Unit) system, but I've never really had any problems with it.The system will work fine if you know how to use it properly. Here's a few tips for those who may find this device troublesome.

-Make sure your device is plugged onto the 4th controller slot, it will not work if connected somewhere else and make sure everything is plugged into place.

-Make sure your TV isn't too loud when you talk to Pikachu, because if it is the system will have trouble recognizing what you say.

-Speak proper English.Speak slowly and clearly and make sure you are not too close or too far apart from the mocrophone, have it right before your mouth.

-Also, see that you keep the appropiate "L" button pressed down the whole time while you speak and don't release it while you are talking.

If you follow those hints, the VRU shouldn't give you any problems. The only complaint I would have about this is the clip that attaches the microphone to the controller, it is very fragile and breaks easily, we had it replaced twice.

The game has decent graphics, standard Nintendo 64 and the animations and movements are sharp and well done.Pikachu is a very realistic Pokémon and behaves naturally.Pikachu is very cute and fun to play with, he acts like any real pet, he gets happy, excited, sad and angry and it is your job to keep him happy as much as you can.Surrounded with beautiful music and very heartwarming moments, the game is challenging, fun, entertainment and a must buy if you would like a break from Pokémon battling and take some time with another kind of Pokémon adventure.

Absolutely wonderful!

5-0 out of 5 stars mi kol revu
kool go fishing, have a picnic, and talk to pikachu!.get into the secret hive. go to a pokemon picnic 2 when you get there, look on to the hills next to you till ya see some brown dirt walk backwards and run right into it! you are inside a hive.there will be a magnet and a screw.put the in your box and leave or play.when you go home you get money to buu stuff you can go there again and the stuff will be there

5-0 out of 5 stars Hey You, Pikachu:A skill builder
Picture this. You are in your room and your mom wakes you up saying, "Oak's test is today!" You are 10 and you get up and go out the door to see what the test is. You find Prof. Oak and say, "O. K. I'm here." He then tells you that your test requires friendship, not a pencil! He then tells you, "Your test is to make friends with Pikachu!" You are told to speak to it, so you press Z and talk into the microphone. SURPRISE! Hey You, Pikachu isn't a book. It's a GAME!
First of all, this game is okay. This game is okay because of the animation. It doesn't look REAL, but pretty close.
Second, this game is great. This game is great because you can ACTUALLY make a friend! Using a microphone, you can ask questions, help it's friends, and help it buy MERCHANDISE!
Third, this game is awesome. This game is awesome because you don't have to do much to gain points! Just press A to pick something up, press START, and press A again to store it for points at the end of the `day'.
Last of all, this game is excellent. This game is excellent because you can build social skills. What it lacks in animation, it makes up in building social skills.
I give this game, out of 1-10, a 9! I recommend this game to everyone. Its rated E for EVERYONE. It's only for Nintendo 64 systems. It's only at the price of $15.00, which is CHEAP for a game this unique.

3-0 out of 5 stars this stinks
this game stinks after the first few days i bought it it stopped working now somebody has to hold the cord to the microphone. it might be ok to buy this.

Amazon.com Review

Barbie is finally a woman of action. Taking up international espionagein Secret Agent Barbie, she travels the world in pursuit of justice. Athief has stolen valuable clothing from a friend of hers, a fashion designer whois just setting up for a big show.

In order to bring the thieves to justice, Barbie has a full team of helpers anda complement of gadgetry. To get past a guard who won't let her through a door, she uses her compact to blow foundation in his face. To investigate areas tootiny for her to access, she has a robotic spy puppy. Her Pinkvision goggles canseek out the combinations to otherwise secured doors. Finally, Barbie has twogymnastic skills: dive rolls that carry her past guarded areas, and jumps to getover obstacles and laser alarms.

By virtue of its emphasis on gizmos, this game makes itself a distant relativeof pop-culture heroes like James Bond or the Mission Impossible teams. However, Secret Agent Barbie lacks the defining characteristic of thismilieu: violence. Barbie has a stealth mode for sneaking around game scenery, anadventure mode for calmer moments, and an action mode for running and jumping.(Each of these modes comes with its own costume options.) What Barbie doesn'thave is a fight mode. Whether this is a good or bad thing may be entirely amatter of parental and player opinion.

Regardless of your position on mayhem, Secret Agent Barbie has a fewdefinite weaknesses. Gameplay is really just a process of moving from oneanimated sequence to the next--and the quality of these sometimes lengthy moviesis only so-so. The game is highly inflexible, pursuing a straight path to thestolen fashions. As a result, its replay factor is almost zero. As for themystery-solving element, players don't find clues so much as stumble overthem.

That said, Secret Agent Barbie does move the widely beloved doll into adistinctly macho career path, allowing girls to tag along with their heroine ona globetrotting adventure. (Ages 6 and older) --Alyx Dellamonica ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Game
Secret Agent Barbie is a fun game. I got it when I sprained my ankle a few years ago. It's strongest point would probably be that there is something in it for everyone.
But I also think that that can be it's weak point. I like the action mode, but you can only be in that for certain parts of the game. Barbie's pace isn't very fast in the other modes.
Also, this game can be un-realistic. Like Barbie will say, 'I think that's the suspect!', but will take the time to change her outfit before she goes after him.
This games a good one anyway. I'd reccomend it to any girl who likes Barbie. But another weak point is that you don't get to do much sleuthing on your own. It's all set out for you. If you want a real challenge, I reccomend the Nancy Drew games, which are really good.
Anyhow, this game is really nice. I'd reccomend it 9 and under. If you like either action, adventure, or fashion, you'd probably like this game!

3-0 out of 5 stars a great game for a while
My grandparents bought this game to for me, my brothers and sisters, and my cousins. At first it was great! It was challenging. I got to leap across roofs, break codes, desguise myself, and do lots of other things. There were quite a few cool gadgets like a lipstick recorder, robot spy puppy (my favorite) and a perfume tracker. You have to find out who stole barbie's friend's fashion clothes. There are dozens of different outfits that you can choose from at different times. First you can do training so you know how to do spy moves, but you don't have to. It's easy to use. After I completed the mission once though, it wasn't as great. I don't play it much any more. If I owned it though, I don't think I would play it at all! I think this should be for ages seven and up, because of the hardness of the puzzles. Hope this review is helpful!

3-0 out of 5 stars Just OK
My 6-yr-old daughter received this game as a gift and we found it to be fairly disappointing. It keeps jamming up, the graphics aren't great, and it's annoying that Barbie has to change her outfit whenever she wants to switch between "stealth" mode, for example, and "action" mode.My daughter hardly ever plays this game and prefers Barbie Explorer for its faster and more exciting pace.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Game!
I have had this game for two years, and I'm still playing it almost everyday! This game let you play as Barbie, walk around, chase shadowy figures, talk to people, and more! Go to Japan, and more places!

5-0 out of 5 stars Dinosaur Fun
I bought this for my nephew for Christmas and he loved the game. As said before the graphic are great and this gams is wonderful for kids who love Dinotopia.

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!
I bought this game 3 days a go, and I am very happy with it.The graphics are outstanding and I have to say the same for the music! I can't put it down it is soooooooooo great.I have books, toys, tapes and now the game from Dinotopia.
I LOVE DINOTOPIA!

5-0 out of 5 stars we love dinotopia!!!!
i bought this for my daughter for christmas and she loved it.so did i.i took it to work with me one day and my coworker got hooked on it.the graphics are great.the music was outstanding!i think i played just to hear the music...lol.it was a lot of fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this game
I bought this game for my son for Christmas. He loves Dino's so I thought this was perfect. Some of the levels are hard due to repeated action with the buttons. But overall it's a really great game. I am 34 and loved this game as much as my 7 yr old. I would reccomend this game to any GBA owner.

3-0 out of 5 stars Concerned about repetitive motion injuries!!
I bought this game for my nine-year-old son and he loves it.The graphics are outstanding. The game play is creative and varied, and generally a lot of fun; and the music is better than any I've yet heard coming out of a GBA game.

BUT...

My concern with this game, (and the only reason I've given it 3 rather than 5 stars), is that some of the levels require repeated, very fast pressing of the same button continuously in order to pass the level... The faster you repeatedly press the A button the faster you go, and if you don't go fast enough, you lose... and when you aren't needing to go fast enough to keep up, speedwise, you need to be manning the B button repeatedly to knock out the bad guys that are flying around, coming after you!... Then the next level requires repeated pressing of the A button again, just to make the guy move (again the faster you press, the faster he goes)I am concerned that our gaming kids may be setting themselves up for problems like repetitive motion injuries, down the road. The game is very compelling and the kids don't like to put it down... but you may want to enforce limited session times (especially when they are on levels requiring this repeated button hitting) just to give their poor cramped hands and wrists a break! (I'm really bummed they designed the control functionality this way, it seems so unneccessary and the game is otherwise quite good!)

That being said, many of the levels have control functioning that is not so stressful and more in keeping with what you may be used to from other GBA games.Anyway, this is just something I wish I'd known before I purchased Dinotopia. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is why M-K & A are suing the developer-It stinks
Got it for a 6 & 8 yr old & even my husband & I are unable to "beat" the computer players. It has no option to not let the computer play. It is very frustrating & we are ready to pitch it.

5-0 out of 5 stars It Is Ok
I have this game and I love it the only problem is that there is no Rock Climbing, No mini Golfing, no triva, and no drivers test like people say. I still love this game no matter what because you still have to do all the tasks and you have to get a good grade. You also have to watch out for cars. I really like this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the price!
This game is the best! The only hard part about it is the cars but once you get used to it you'll get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Challenging
This game is challenging. You have to watch for cars in front of you. I have to play a level 50 times in order to go on. I'm a challenging girl, so buy it. It's fun!

3-0 out of 5 stars Great - until you play NBA Live 2004
This game was really fun when I first got it. The gameplay was great.
You can use classic uniforms for every team.
Players celebrate or mope around after a key shot.
The franchise mode was alright.
The commentary could be a lot better. They repeat themselves a lot and say things that are stupid.
Fouls are called when they shouldn't be and aren't called when they should be.
1 on 1 is a really fun option. You can build up your skills and can play in an urban court, beach court, or a gym.
NBA LIVE 2003 IS OKAY, BUT COULD BE A LOT BETTER!

The other day I played NBA Live 2004 for the first time. I could not believe the realism. Everything is extremely realistic. You feel like your actually in a basketball game. The commentary can't get any better. The gameplay is outstanding, too. The smooth graphics and player animations. You can use EVERY classic uniform from every team in a game.

4-0 out of 5 stars excelente juego, pero...

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is great , but it could be better
This game is great. I like it a lot and I could name of 20 or 30 good things about it, but one thing is bad.YOU CAN SCORE ON ANY BODY AT ANY TIME!!!Basicly,it just lets you fly right past your defender. I know a lot about basketball, and you just can NOT fly rigt past your defender unless your Michal Jordan or Kobe Bryant. But everything else is nearly perfect, so for that one bad thing, I'll give it 4 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Basketball Game
I just got this game 2 weeks ago but I am VERY impressed! The new freestyle system is really cool where you can move the C-Stick(If you have Gamecube)and do different moves and tricks! Also by using the D-Stick you can call off you're own plays like isolation and the pick and roll.Another good feature is a 2-player franchise mode play through ten exciting seasons with one of your friends! This game is mine AND my friends favorite game!We play this game all the time. This a great game with almost Unlimited replay value. If you don't have this game but it NOW!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Than the 2K Series
The NBA Live Series is so much better than the 2k series. Graphics are better, gameplay is better, controls are better,A.I is better, and is funner than 2K.

Graphics: 10/10
These graphics look so realistic. Theyre clean and legible.

Controls: 10/10
The controls are easy. Pass, shoot, crossover, the works.

Music: 7/10
NBA Live music is okay. they need betterhip hop, although there are some hip hop songs by Fabolous, Jermaine Dupri, and Flipmode Squad feat. Busta Rhymes.

Fun: 10/10
NBA Live will not leave you bored. Theres so much to do: season, franchise, playoffs, 1 on 1, practice, exhibition game, All-Star game, and you can get old school onto your teams. You can alsoget a cheat to get Fabolous and Busta Rhymes as a player.

Overall: 10/10
Too much fun. This cold be the best sports game ever made, it is in my opinion. Go buy for yourself and youll see how much better it is than the NBA 2K series. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Daisy, a television journalist, has gone to Merlock's castle for anunannounced interview. Merlock doesn't appreciate Daisy's in-your-face interviewtactics and holds her hostage while he comes up with a plan to take over theworld. So, it's up to Donald Duck to rescue Daisy in Goin' Quackers.

The game gives players instructions as they progress through the levels. Whenyou come to something new, Donald's nephews explain what's going on. While nothaving to read an instruction book is nice, the game explains so many simpleconcepts from the beginning that this feature hinders more than it helps. Forinstance, gift boxes contain power-ups. Power-ups are good. You should getthem.

The game's graphics quality varies greatly throughout. For example, some of thebuildings show great detail while, in another area, it can be difficult to tellwhether you're facing a cliff or a thorny plant. Also, while Donald is superblyanimated, the game's many textures look grainy compared to those of other PS2titles.

The sound, on the other hand, is spot on. The sound effects are also pleasantlycartoon-like, but the voices are annoying, especially Donald's.

Experienced gamers will blow through this one, assuming they want to, andyounger gamers will find the game sufficiently challenging and fun. But gamersyoung and old will agree: There's nothing to like about Donald's new voice.--Todd Mowatt

Pros:

  • Platform-style Disney game
  • Cartoon-like sound effects
Cons:
  • Too similar to the Crash Bandicoot game series
  • Obtrusive help feature
  • Annoying game voices

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute by aggravating
This is a VERY cute game, but EXTREMELY AGGRAVATING. Unless you're six-year-old is a rocket scientist, this is going to frustrate the heck out of him.

The game is very linear - you are forced to walk along a path. I can over-look this because of the cute graphics. However, some of the levels are very long and it's very tough to get through them without getting killed dozens of times. Argh!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Well I have really seen better games.
donald duck is a crash bandicute wanibi game. It does have all of its own moves but it is the same principle. But if you liked crash you might mabey like this. I would personal rate it 4.5

5-0 out of 5 stars I liked this game....
Although I loved this game, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to other people... For me, this was seemingly perfect... I'm 14 and I still love cute, cuddly, things (like Disney) so those games that are made for little 8 year olds seem to fit me perfectly. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so this game wasn't overly easy, but it wasn't hard either. If you like Crash Bandicoot, get this instead of the Wrath of Cortex (that game takes FOREVER to load) Beautiful, colorful graphics, although this is a 3d scrolling sort of game. Extremely similar to Crash, that's the best way to describe it.

4-0 out of 5 stars a decent game at a reasonable price
From a hard core gamer's perspective, this game does quite well.Yes it does resemble the crash series(but is this a bad thing?!?), and it is pretty much a side scrolling game for the most part... but don't be fooled into thinking that it isn't worth your time as a worthy alternative to the violent games that have taken over the gaming industry(Now I must admit that my gaming stash includes many such games), because it just insn't the case here. I'm pleased to see that this game can be just as fun (for all) but I must warn you that some of the complex jumps you must perform to reach different platformsthroughout the game may prove to be a bit much for the casual gamer. The special moves may also prove to be a tad bit overwhelming at first(but boy are they amusing to watch). All of this considered, I would recommend this to anyone on a gaming budget (I mean, who isn't?) who still is searching for quality hits that look and play like they belong on the playstation 2.

4-0 out of 5 stars Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers
If you like the Crash Bandicoot series, then you'll like this game. It's a 3D scrolling platform-type game with timed levels where you collect items, stomp on enemies, smash boxes, jump over holes, climb over obstacles and collect milkshakes to keep Donald alive & happy.

This is the story: Daisy has been kidnapped by Merlock and you (Donald, of course) have to save her. Donald's friend Gyro has invented a machine that can teleport Donald to Merlock's castle so that you can save Daisy, but first you have to collect parts to make it more powerful. So you get sent through different parts of the world to collect cogs & such, and beating various bosses along the away. Huey, Louie and Dewey hang around to give Donald tips and teach him "Special Moves". Though it appears to be a kids' game, it's actually pretty challenging & at times frustrating, so I wouldn't recommend it for younger gamers.

Like I said, if you like the Crash series, then you'll probably like this game. Overall it has PS2-worthy graphics & speed, decent plot depth and good gameplay. It's definitely worth trying out, but rent it before you buy it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Game for Baseball Fans
Personally i'm not a huge baseball fan.Ocassionally I watch a game but not too often. This game is great if you are a fan of baseball but i didn't like it that much.I am stinky at hitting home runs and I can not hit the ball often. You ahve to know some of the things in baseball and i really don't get the point of this game anyway it gets kind of annoying sometimes like when you confuse your players with the ones on the other team. Also some of the games are hard and I usually strike out.I like this game but i wouldn't really recommend it if you are not a baseball fan.If you buy it and you have no idea what baseball is all about just remember I warned you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Game all-around
I first started playing this game in computer class and fell in love with it right away. What i like about it is that you can pick real MLB players, fake people, or create your own. You can also chose from real teams or fake teams. The levels and practice are really cool, for whatever may be your speed. Hope this review helped you, I have played this like over 100+ times

Thanks!

1-0 out of 5 stars piece of crap
what a piece of crap. i just bought this game. played it for 2 mins. realized there is NO PITCHING. YOU HIT OFF A @!#$##$#$ TEE BALL STAND. THIS GAME BLOWS. IMMEDIATELY SOLD IT BACK TO AMAZON. bought all star baseball 2004 instead.. no challenge at all to this game. jacked homeruns like i was stealing jewelry from old ladies. TOO EASY. NO FUN.

4-0 out of 5 stars Backyard Baseball
Backyardbaseball is de bomb! i think it's really cool that u can link and play and stuff like that. the only thing that's not the perfect thing about the game is the created players, because you can't make them that good. but the good thing is that they gain experience points if you choose them in a season. i link with my brother all the time.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Easy
This game is fun but too easy. You can easily go through an entire season without a loss. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

There's road rage, and then there's road rage Simpsons style! "D'oh!" Monty Burns is up to his greedy ways again. He's purchased Springfield's transit corporation and heinously jacked up the fares. Refusing to shell out for the new rates, the rage ensues. You'll take on commuters and jam-packed back routes, all in an effort to help buy back the corporation before time runs out.

More than 25 Simpsons characters climb behind the wheel or wander the streets begging for a ride. Careen through timesaving shortcuts and take on terrain including hills, mountains, and forests. Wreak havoc in five Springfield neighborhoods that include landmarks such as Moe's Bar and the nuclear power plant. Busy traffic and wayward pedestrians confound your rage. However, two-wheel leans, speed starts, power slides, and other cool car physics help you release that rage.

Multiple game modes let you go head-to-head in two-player split-screen action that challenges your opponent in a race for the next passenger, or you can steal his or her passenger midride! Complete up to 60 unique passenger deliveries in story mode, or take a leisurely Sunday drive through the fair Springfield. A bonus system lets you unlock cars and specific characters, while intuitive menus make this game easy to play. As Homer would say, "If it's hard to do, it's not worth doing!" ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It's good for little kids.
Now you see a T rating on this box you expect at least a little more violence or something. I think the only reason it's rated teen is because Homer says ass once. I don't hear no other profanity and the violence is weak. Now about the game. It's a fast-paced kid version of Crazy Taxi. I had no clue what i was in for when i bought this game all i was thinking was I love the Simpsons. But don't get me wrong it is a fun game. I don't like Bart's car. Other than that nice cars and awesome neighborhoods. Except the plower plant because it's really boring and there's a giant wall that just gets in your way. The missions are ok and you can skip them after 5 losses which basically means all you have to do is win the 10th mission and you unlock Homer's special car. Not too bad of a game I just wish it had more options because basically when you beat the missions, you're not gonna wanna play them again and all that's left is the Road Rage. Worth renting, not buying. Or maybe snatching it from a friend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Love it or hate it
Some love it, others hate it. Here is the low-down.This is "Crazy Taxi" in Simpson-Land.There are plenty of sight and sound gags that should satisfy Simpsons fans, but they will become repetetive and annoying if you play long enough. The "worlds" are terrific, but are not "perfect" - this game is about cartoon-driving mayhem, it is not intended to be realistic. The bottom line is that the game is a blast to play.

Crazy Taxi has larger, more detailed "worlds", but without the comedy and humor of Road Rage.Road Rage, however, has more and better cars to play.My only criticism is that some of the language and inuendo could easily have been left out without detracting from the fun at all.

P.S. Sometime, be sure to drive around and read all the signs, billboards, and the names of the businesses. Also, look for backyard shortcuts and hidden tunnels.

2-0 out of 5 stars They Can Do Better Than This
I was so excited once I got The Simpsons: Road Rage. But once I started playing it, I was very dissapointed. The 3-D effects aren't very impressive, and this game is very repetitive. But if you're a true Simpsons fan, you will find the humor of The Simpsons in this game. The voices in this game match up to the voices on the show as well. But, like I said, this game is very repetitive and you will probably hear the same catchphrases over and over throughout the game.

This game is not very challenging either, and will probably take you no more than a month to finish. And when you do finish the game, let me tell you now, the ending is not that exciting.

A plus side to this game is that an exclusive character & vehicle comes along every holiday, which goes with the holiday. That feature is kind of cool. But, you could easily see all the characters by re-setting the calendar on your game console, and if you don't do this, you will only see the holiday character once a year.

This is an average game that is appropriate for the whole family, but it is not a must-buy. If I were you, I wouldn't rush out and buy this video game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very fun game
This game is cool. The levels are insane in design, cars are well-themed. Yes it's true. This game rocks. people who don't like this game have problems. The levels are filled with many landmarks. I feel like i'm in Springfield, (Which I am.)
The graphics are OK. Pretty cartoon. I say this game is repetive though. But it's fun to play like your driving. A great game.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's a chore to play
This game stinks. The graphics of the people are okay, but the rest of the world stinks. The point is to hear people say stupid things pointlessly. Then you drive them to places and they pay hundreds of dollars. The cars don't even flip over. It's extremely repetitive. Hey haven't driven you somewhere 10 times already? That's what you'll be asking yourself. You have to do the same thing over and over again and get money. Then once you have the money you pointlessly buy people or areas. The worlds are terrible, but just like the T.V. show. Don't waste your money and get excited when you buy it, just don't even bother. Don't just try my review though, look at all the others on this site. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One warning for you GBA owners
Nintendo advertises this cable to allow 4 people to play together off of one pack. Absolutely not a 100% true. Certain games such as NHL 2002, and other sports games, each player must have a pack to be able to connect. Many parents have found this out all too late on road trips and what not. Make sure you read the warning on the back of the game and instructions to see what you need for multiplayer gaming. (...)

1-0 out of 5 stars a major disappointment
i am a 45 year aerospace engineer and I can't get this piece of junk to work, even after re-reading the poor instructions several times.after messing around with it for a while, it finally does allow two GBAs to link, but its almost as if by accident...

save your money for a gamecube instead...

4-0 out of 5 stars Good accessory
With Nintendo's new Game Boy Advance came a new kind of link cable, one that was exclusively for the advance systems. Read on for the pros and cons of this accessory.

PROS:
-You can use it for multiplayer gaming and trading in some games, sometimes with only one game
-Up to three cables can be connected at a time, meaning up to four people can play at a time
-It's more durable than third-party accessories that do the same thing

CONS:
-It only works for Advance games. If you've got two Advance systems and want to link up on a Game Boy Color game, you'll need one of the older link cables.
-As another reviewer stated, the color scheme of the cable isn't too pleasing
-Third party accessories that perform the same functions are available for a lower price

If you've got a Game Boy Advance, make sure you buy one of these, as it is somewhat of a necessity.

4-0 out of 5 stars Does what it is made for
This product is made by nintendo, so you know it is going to be well manufactured.it cost me about ten bucks at toys r us.it is about 40 inches, or 3 feet 4 inches.another foot would have been nice, but it gets the job done.

using game link cables, you can have up to four players play at the same time.it takes one cable to connect two people, two to connect three people, and three to connect four people.

i have one problem with it though: why is it grey and PURPLE?most video gamers are guys, and most guys i know are not crazy about the color purple.oh well.

This is probably the best game link on the market currently.get one if you plan to play with other people on your GBA.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best links out there

1-0 out of 5 stars The ratings have got to change! Not for everyone!
I bought this for my 5 year old for his birthday.Disappointing to say the least!!Read all the reviews because they are all correct. The graphics are horrible.Reading, Reading, Reading! No game play.I hate the rating system on these games.E for everyone does not mean everyone. Most 5 year olds can't read therefore it is not for them!I was even quite bored with all the reading. My suggestion to you is to find a second hand dealer like GameStop and try the game before you buy.Wish I had. They let you try up to 3 games per visit before buying.

2-0 out of 5 stars Raggy, Ris is Rerrible!
Oh my gosh, what a waste. This was a terrible game. The ratings go like this:

Graphics: 2/10
The graphics are terrible. Theryre all fuzzy and unsharp.

Conrols:2/10
Moving Scooby is real hard. He goes the opposite way sometimes that you want to go. And sometimes youll be pressing the button and he wont even move.

Music: 1/10
The music is haunting. Its like the music you hear when your on your deathbed.

Fun: 5/10
This fun is alright. The problem is that you have to get to different places, but they all look the same, so you dont know where to go.

Overall: 2/10
The game cold be better with some improvments, and they sholdve spent a little more time on it instead of rushing it out onto the market.

5-0 out of 5 stars SCOOBY DOO
Not just another mindless shooting and killing rated M frenzy, SCOOBY DOO is a game that takes skill, practice and some real thought. It is a puzzle filled, mind thinking fun game that is educational and also very fun for kids and teens (10 and up). This game will be boring for the kids who just want shooting and fighting sprees because you only get to fight after the first two stages (which might take a few days to beat). It's cool that the more levels you beat, you unlock more characters. Recommended TO GBA owners!

4-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a real game!
I just bought a new GameBoy Advance system and decided to get some games as well. I bought this game and thought it was challenging, took thought, some time and some interest, not just walking around and plotlessly hitting street walkers. This is a great game but it might be too hard with kids. I think this game is more for teenagers than little kids under 13. This is a great game and provides days of nonstop fun and adventure, trying to unlock the mystery of the haunted hotel! Also available are many other SCOOBY DOO games on PS1 and 2 and on Gameboy color.

4-0 out of 5 stars Jinkies! This game is fun!
I'm a 20 year old college student with a love for video games, and this was one of the 1st two games I purchased for my Game Boy Advance, which I just bought on January 4.This game was a hard find, but I'm glad I found it. I think the factor that drove me to getting this game was the fact that I really enjoyed the movie, even though I was never really into Scooby-Doo to begin with, although I always liked Scooby. It's actually a blast to play, and once you get the hang of it (I did by the first night I had it) it's really not bad.You have to find your friends, some clues, and solve some puzzles. Each character is specially suited to do certain tasks.I am actually playing as Velma right now, who is my favorite Scooby character, besides Scooby himself. What it boils down to, once you get the hang of it, this game is enjoyable. The handle is great, and the role-playing aspect is fun. The graphics are also great, because the boards are exactly like the scenes from the movie, and the actual actors' images are seen in the game, not just bad cartoon representations of them. I'm hoping that I'll find Fred and Daphne soon, so I have more characters to choose from.Otherwise, this is a good game.Enjoy!:) ... Read more

Can we play it? Yes we can, as Bob the Builder has now made it to theGame Boy Color in Fix-It Fun. It begins in Bob's yard, where he isgreeted by Dizzy, Lofty, Roley, and all his other best friends, all ready forsome serious work. Enter Wendy's office and there's a stream of jobs justwaiting to be done--notices are in the fax machine, in the files, and on theshelves. Jobs seem to be piling up everywhere, and Bob needs your help to getthem done.

Scroll up and down the job sheet menu to pick a task, and whether it's Mrs.Potts's fence, the town hall roof, feeding Pilchard, or fixing a wall with muck,it will keep the little ones busy for hours. Each smiley machine has his ownadventure for Bob to take part in, and the graphics are superb (as in all BBCchildren's games), clearly replicating these extremely popular characters.

The controls are simple and intuitive, and the enclosed instructions areillustrative and clear, taking players through the games one step at a time. They also include a number of handy hints in case building doesn't come asnaturally to everyone as it does to Bob.

For little ones who are pestering parents to buy them video games, this title isa great opportunity to combine education with entertainment. Young children willwhile away long car or plane journeys quite happily without even realizingthey're learning about shapes and patterns, numbers and letters, and tidying upand fixing things, as well as developing their hand-eye coordination andreasoning and concentration skills. (The value is much the same as when childrenuse an educational CD-ROM.)

For Bob fans everywhere, or youngsters who love using their older brother's orsister's Game Boy, Bob the Builder: Fix-It Fun lives up to its BBCcredentials: it is safe, fun, and educational. It's also the kind of video gameevery parent is looking to find. --Lucie Naylor ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ITEM
This is a great item the person I bought it for LOVED IT!
Its a cute and great gift

3-0 out of 5 stars Not well thought out.
My five year old loves Bob the Builder and just inherited his brothers game boy. I thought this game would be perfect for him. The first problem is that you need to know how to read in order to play it. Since BTB is geared towards the preschool crowd, that seems weird that they would require you to do any reading.

Secondly, each level rewards you with a password. You re-enter this password whenever you start playing which brings you back to your current level. This would be fine if the child knew how to read and told me about the password, but he since he can't he just skips right over it and the password is lost. He needs to start from square one each time. Which leads to the next problem....

You have to accomplish 10 tasks (aquire 10 passwords) before you get to play with Scoop. This is so discouraging for my son because he loves Scoop. It's his favorite character and the only one he is interested in playing with. He's also the hardest to master. So if you don't write down those passwords and help your child enter them, they'll never get to play with Scoop.

How nice it would have been if the game had automatically saved your level each time you played. Is that too much to ask for in a preschool game?

4-0 out of 5 stars Bob is the best
(...)WHy would you buy a gameboy for a three year old. Bob is the greatest show in the world. I watch it every chance i get. Pilchard is so cool in this game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too Complicated
The Bob the Builder show appeals to my not-yet literate 3 year old.

I think this game is poorly conceived and executed because
it requires the user to read several things before they can play anything with this game.

Once my son is reading, I'm fairly certain he will no longer be interested in Bob The Builder.

Sony and Sega always have had a way of looking at successful Nintendogames and saying, "We can do that!" (See Crash Team Racing, for oneexample.) Now, Sega has all but copied Mario Party and produced its ownversion of a digital board game, which features the Sonic cast of characters.

Sonic Shuffle, as it's known, easily could have been called SonicParty, because of the countless similarities between it and the Nintendotitle. Players move from space to space--going after Precioustones (instead ofstars), collecting rings along the way (instead of coins), and participating inminigames (same for both). As an added twist, characters also get into cardbattles with monsters, à la Pokémon.

Unfortunately, the minigames in Sonic Shuffle are painfully uninspiredand frequently un-fun. Also, players are forced to sit through battles betweenthe computer and the computer. The fact that four can play is a plus; but, onthe whole, this one's just a pretender to the throne. --Robb Guido

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Mario Party clone
I am a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog.I have been there for better and for worse (like when they added the super-annoying Amy Rose as a character).I have always liked Sonic as a video game character.

Nonetheless, this game is awful. First of all, the premise of this game is stolen from the game Mario Party.Cloned games can be alright, considering that the developers don't rely too heavily on the origial game for inspiration and design.Sadly, the makers of Sonic Shuffle do exactly that--they rely completely on the design of Mario Party to patent their game after. They make no attempt to hide the fact that they are copying off of Mario Pary.

And when game developers create a clone, it should be equal or better than the original, or else, they'll have to deal with the fact that not only did they not have the creativity to make their own game, but they could not even use the success of the game that was their predecessor to create a successful game in their own right.Sonic Shuffle is a textbook example of this.

The game boards are pointless and poorly conceived. The story behind the game is uninspiring, and does not catch the imagination. The minigames are stupid, and not entertaining in the least.

I would avoid this game at all costs, unless you want to give someone free money for a useless piece of software.Or maybe you could use the CD as a designer coaster or something.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Game ever
You may not beleive me because i'm under 13 but i'm smart enough to know this is the most fun game i have ever played! There are 5 difrent places which are realy fun with diffrent special things in each on. The characters are of corse Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, Big the cat, E-102 Gamma, Choa, and Supersonic. It is Totaly the Best ever!

1-0 out of 5 stars Its like MARIO PARTY...without MARIO or the party!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first read about Sonic Shuffle it got mixed reviews but since I was desperate for a new experience in gaming for the Dreamcast (the best system that never made it) I bought the game. I must say that it has sweet cel shading graphics and thats it! This game is really uninspired and tedious! My biggest gripe (among many) is that THE MULTIPLAYER GAMES ARE BORING, UNINSPIRED AND JUST PLAIN SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! I was origionally drawn to it by the boasts of many mulitplayer games but boy was I fooled! There are probably three (if so much) of these games that are fun, trust me the mini ames are BAD!! One game puts three players in a frying pan and the fourth player gets to turn it and toss it as if they are making pancakes, WEAK SEGA, WEAK!

DO NOT BUY THIS MESS!!! IT IS NOT FUN!!!

TAILS IS THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER EVER CREATED I HATE THE WAY HE ALWAYS HAS TO CALL SONIC FOR EVERYTHING!!!

SOMEONE AT SEGA SHOULD GET A CAREER CHANGE AND GO INTO LICKING ENVELOPES AT THHE POST OFFICE, A JOB THAT REQUIRES LITTLE THOUGHT BECAUSE HE OBVIOUSLY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO PUT INTO SONIC SHUFFLE TO MAKE IT ORIGIONAL OR FUN!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Party Game
Lots of people give this game bad reviews for what appears to be no reason. The truth is, Sonic Shuffle is a great party game and something I believe you will enjoy. So what if it's a Mario Party clone? Lots of clone games have been made that are in fact, great games. So if you loved Mario Party, why not get it's little brother? Screw the editorial revies saying the mini-games are uninspired. I just get so gosh-darned excited when somebody lands on a mini-game space. This is truly a great game and definitely a good addition to any collection. The only minor problems are that there's no going back once you pick a card to move with, and the roulettes aren't random. ... Read more

This game is pretty good.I prefer Mario type games and I thought this may be similar, but with different characters and different locations.I suppose it is similar to Mario type games, but with a 'jungle-ish'twist.Not for kids under 8 or 9, unless they are really good. Not because of violen
