One hecka fun game!
I think this is the best DKL game ever made. It can be hard to see at times (Or just plain HARD!), but it's still a good, fun game to play. I totally support that other guy's suggestion that there should be a GBA/DS remake.

Good Game But Its on the SP
This game is the same as Donkey Kong Country. Same Music. Same Baddies. Same EVERYTHING! If you want to buy this, go buy Donkey Kong Country which has BETTER graphics. 4/5 Dudes.

Good, but could've been way better.
This game wasn't all that bad. The Graphics were poor to the point that i couldn't see any secret areas. The controls were very good. The concept was great and the game (minus the graphics) itself was great, but the graphics messed it up. I hope Rare re-makes this game for the advance, for it could be a major hit.

Come on, I know Nintendo can do better than that!
This game stunk in almost everything, from graphics to sound to gameplay to controls. It was too hard to play due to the fact that the graphics were too poor. It was too difficult to see if there were any secret entrances. Plus the controls weren't great either. It was a little difficult to control DK. This game was good when i first bought it, but than got boring to the point that i ended up selling it. I regret the day i ever brought this game.I'd rather buy DK Country 1 than this piece of junk. In my opinion, this was the worst Donkey Kong game ever made.

An Original GB DK
This is about what you can expect from portable Donkey Kong game. It is dumbed down compared to SNES titles. Gameplay is pretty good, but not as impressive as DK Land 2. dear readers DO NOT BUY THIS GAME in the begining the game was great then it became so easy if you want a challenging game don't get this one it is not good its impossible to get a base hit you get 1 base hit every 10 times you are up99% of the time you get a home run 0% of the time you steal a base you cant save the game so if you do season and you let's sayyou play 3season games then you shut it off you turn it back on it is erased that means you dont have those 3 games you played you can't make an erorr.

OK game
This game can be entertaining, but only for a while.The graphics are fine for Gameboy, but everything else is not very realistic.It is way too easy to win- home runs can be hit 25% of the time while at bat.The codes for accessing saved games are too complicated with strange letters and numbers.It is way too monotonous of a game, and is not worth buying.

This game more than lives up to the advanced hype. An eight year olds dream. Super graphics and realistic detail down to the mini-national anthem. Endless playing options although some could be simpler to use. Overall,small screen portable games don't get much better than this

Daughter loved this game
I purchased this for my 10yr old daughter [her first gameboy game] and she loved it.It was easiest enough so that she did not become frustrated with it.. and yet hard enough that it took several days to win.Her 12yr old brother [a game addict] even found the game entertaining and enjoyed it as well.I recommend this to anyone looking for a good, family quality, entertaining game.

It's ok
I am a huge dog fan so I bought this as my first gameboy color game. At first I was happy with the game, but it was too easy. With the exception of about 3 levels where you have to A. Bark at two men to get a key to open a door, B. Bark continually at an evil toymaker to beat the level, C. Bark into a sound projector to defeat Cruella DeVil, all the leves are the same! Find the miniscule, hard-to-see key and open all the cages! The only hard part to me was the level called "Research Laboratory" Where there were these weird platforms with up arrows on them and I couldn't figure out how to use them! Just jumping on them doesn't do anything, and I finally figured out that you hold the B button down while on the platforms without continually pressing it and wait till your puppy flys high enough to reach the last platform. Another con is the music. All the loud beeps, boops, and annoying twangy tunes that repeat themselves can really get on your nerves! The good thing is, after you beat the game, you get two codes for two fairly fun mini games. But even they get too easy for an experienced gamer. I will not deny you some enjoyment; the codes are: tank, dice, dice, tank, AND tank, dice, dice, dice. Have some fun!

I guess this game could be fun for a younger person but I wouldn't reccomend it for anyone 9 and up at least. I am 11 and beat it in two days, and I bet a lot of people could beat it faster.

I got this game for my birthday and I also have the Playstation Version.I am very thankful that i have this game because it is very fun.I've beaten the wholegame now.Tip:After you have beaten Cruella,stay and get points before you leave.Than go to a level with alot of bones and you may see something cool happen!!

101 Dalmations Good Game
Generally most games that are based on movies are just rip-offs that are made for the hype, but this is a very fun game. It's pretty fun, and the only problem is it's short. Better for younger gamers.

It's a great game, the tricks are great! there are a million new tricks.
there is also a new balance bar, so when you r grinding down a bar, you have to balance not to fall off! this makes the game alot more fun. the new places you skate in are so much better then THPS2, they have more jumps, bars and all that stuff.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
I think has alot more than 1 and 2. It has Single Session unlike 1 and 2 they don't have Single Session. It has so much more levels, But it's a little different than 2. I own 2 and 3. I like hows there's more terrian and more grind poles and jumps. The graphics are not as good as two. I just can't wait for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4

ROARing Fun!
The color was really bright! The music was really jammin'. But the problem was the graphics were too 2D. I mean the hippos looked like flat cause they were. Very simple of a game, the first nine levels are so easy you could probably do it with your eyes closed. But other than that, I liked it! Music still is jammin!

Fun, cute and entertaining!
I like this game a lot.I am 35 years old, mind you.This is my first time owning a Nintendo Game Boy Color.The game is fun to play the the graphics and color are nice.Simba is easy to move and the game isn't too hard to get from one stage to the next.I recomend this game to anyone.The only thing that gets on my nerves is every time Simba gets hit by a bad animal in the game he says, "ouch" and it gets very tiring if you get hit a lot.The little movie shots between the stages are cute.They go with the stage you were on.Enjoy!!!

Overall, I give this game 4 stars.The graphics are above average (though not great), and if you lose a life during one of the two overhead-view levels, they become scrambled for a moment.There are neat little stills from the movies before and after each level of the game, but to me it looks like someone stuck them in there without touching them up at all so that they'd look better on the Game Boy Color's display.The actual gameplay is pretty nice.Simba moves around at a reasonable speed (not too slow and not too fast), and the game's responsiveness to the controls is also pretty nice.I found the game overall to be pretty entertaining.I think younger kids might enjoy it the most, though.And, as a side note, it really bugs me that the adult Simba in the game is smaller than the young Simba. ... This was one of my fav NES games.
This was the first NES game I ever owned. I loved this verion better then the first one, and it's heaps better then the 3rd or 4th versions.

This game even had a movie made based on it called "double dragon". I hope one day that this game gets revived on the GBA or something, because this was a pretty awsome beat em up game about two brothers punching the #^$@ out of shadow people to get there girlfriend back.

Pretty good
After defeating the Black Shadow Warriors, Billy and Jimmy Lee joined the Scorpions, a prestige martial arts group, in order to hone their skills. Anderson, the last Shadow Warrior, learns of their success in the Scorpions and murders the instructor, framing Billy and Jimmy in the process. As Billy you must fight your way through eight missions, effectively restoring your family name and proving Anderson's guilt. As a martial arts expert, you can punch and kick in a variety of ways and perform aerial uppercuts and flying kneedrops. You have only your feet and hands to fight with, but the assortment of thugs you confront are armed with weapons such as knives, baseball bats, guns, and chainsaws. The action takes place in and around the subway, on the streets, and at the Scorpion Dojo. At the end of the game, you must face Anderson. If you've got two Game Boys, two copies of the game, and a Game Link Cable, a friend can join in the action as Jimmy Lee. Another good beat-em-up for people who have no time to stay at home and fight.

Very nice similtaneous brawling quest
Back again, Billy and his brother Jimmy are on a quest to save Marian from the evil Shadow street gang. There are several levels with new graphics, moves, bad guys and challenges from the original Double Dragon game. Its a totally new quest, starting in the city, brawling to a heliport and taking a helecopter ride (brawling in it) to an enemy fortress. The game play is a bit odd, because of the back attack, which is basically push B to attact left and push A to attack right fro when enemies sandwitch you. Could have done so much more

Dark Backgrounds with dark lettering .....not user friendly
This would be 5 stars if it were not so dark. The games are great but the dark backgrounds make the end results of some of the games impossible to see without directing a flashlight onto the screen....why would the creators ever put black lettering on a dark gray background???

really good for killing time.
i bought this game because i live in new york city, and i am always taking the subway; thus, i have lots of time to kill.if you've ever waited for the subway in new york then you know what i am talking about. about the game, i am 29 years old, so some of the games are useless, if you are over the age of 15 you probably won't ever play go fish, or crazy 8's, or old maid.but some of the other games make it totally worth it. klondike [isn't very good] because you can only flip through the deck once, meaning you will NEVER win. but i can easily kill an hour with hearts, gin rummy, or some of the other solitaire games. i definitely recommend this game if you take public transportation, or if you spend alot of time at the airport.

Somehow, Take Two Interactive managed to squeeze thecontroversial Grand Theft Auto into the tiny confines of a GameBoy cartridge. Unfortunately, most of the elements that made this gamefun on other systems were lost in the translation.

The basic premise remains intact: you play the role of a hoodlum tryingto work your way up the ladder of crime. This is accomplished bycommitting hundreds of unsavory acts, from simple carjacking to complexmissions assigned by the city's crime lords. Eventually the cops becomewise to your evil deeds and hunt you down, which adds an extra layer tothe gameplay.

The problems with this conversion are numerous. City streets that shouldbe teeming with traffic are mostly bare. It's difficult even to find acar to steal, and actually driving the ungainly beasts is even harderdue to poor turning-radiuses and a terrible control scheme. Die-hardfans of the original might like this, but everyone else should opt forthe superior PlayStation or PC versions. --T. Byrl Baker

Crap adaptation of the first in the series.
This game is a bare-bones adaptation of the first GTA which was released for PS and PC. The PC version had some wonky controls regarding turning, but the GBC has problems getting you to even WALK, let alone everything else. The cites are outright barren, you'll be lucky if you ever see another car and even if you do, you don't jack that car, you just hop right in. The police, your constant enmies don't chase so much as they just appear from nowhere and instantly capture you. Seirously, this "game" feels more like an Alpha-test build of GTA 1 than an actual game. Plus, Rockstar now has released GTA 1 for the PC as freeware, so why pay for such a sub-par adapatation? If you must have GTA to go, check out the new GBA version which not only has it's own story, but actually plays like a finished GTA game.

Grand Theft Auto
This game is not worth your time. Although the city in the gameboy version is the same huge city in the PC verison, the game falls way short of Grand Theft Auto's good name. The graphics are decent and no compliants from that part of the game, but the overall game play is lacking. It is quite common for you to walk down a mainstreet and not see a car for miles. The police rarely come after you. I've had four cop heads one me(means I was a bad bad boy) and been able to walk around town without a cop ever coming after me. The steering system in cars is very poor and hard to turn. When you turn your car it looks cheesy and very unrealistic. I would not recommend you buy this game.

Yes, yes, GTA is a great series of games; just not the GameBoy versions.

First, the city you're in must be some post-apocalyptic place where everone has died, because THERE ARE NO CARS ANYWHERE!THERE ARE NO PEOPLE ANYWHERE!How can you carjack and kill without cars or people?

Second, the play control is TERRIBLE.I... I can't go on... it's just too horrible.

Buy the PC or PS versions, but not this.You will cry.

How deer they insult Elmo?!
Those other reviews I read were not super dooper. Now, I'm way Older than fore, and guess what... It still took me 5 years to beat this wonderfully designed game! The gameplay is just wondeful and so realistic! I mean, much more reakistic than the gamne sistems like Game cube and QXZbox and that other silly one! I sure do wish this work of Odin and Buddha and Zuess and Vishnu and Shiva and Prometheous were available when I was a little wippersnapper!

Elmo is so cute, and fun too!!
This game is so cute.A little on the easy side up to the laststage.I can't get past it!!I was not an avid player until recently.I am new to this stuff.I treated myself to a game boy color and love the Elmo game.It is so cute and very colorful.Each stage is easy to figure out.I recomend this game.

I bought my 4 year old daughter a Gameboy recently and she became very frustrated with the typical games (Ms. Pacman, Mario, etc.) because shehadn't developed her coordination well enough yet to go very far in them.So I got this game hoping it would be easier to manuever. I'm glad I did.It is easy for her to move Elmo and jump over obstacles. And it is more"forgiving" in not taking away his lives so quickly. She isthrilled now that she can complete levels and move on to the next one byherself. I know she will soon become bored with it when she becomes moreadept at the Gameboy controls, but it has served the purpose that I wanted- an easy game that makes her like playing her Gameboy.

My 4 year old twin boys were able to complete the entire game (only 8 poorly designed levels) in about 5 minutes. The graphics are poor and the game play is lame, even for a 4 year old. Duke portable
Its not terribel just nothing special. Its graphics are bad but everything moves smoothly and unlike alot of gb games you can save your game. You just walk, find keys and shoot aliens. they guys bleed, just not alot. Sometimes they break in halk or there arms come off. Over all its good if you need dn portable.

Duke Nukem for Gameboy is awful!

Obviously I wasnt expecting fancy 3D graphics and speech, but this game is the most basic of platform games.

There is nothing original at all here, and it is simply a case of extending a good brand one stage too far.

Beast Game Boy Game Ever!
I remember when i saw this game in a store and i all ways wanted to get it but i had no money. So i had to sell 4 playstation games 1 game boy game 2 computer games to get it. ...i got mad until i got Duke Nukemfor game boy. When i played it it was money well spent cool graphics andcool colors. And when i saw there was blood i forgot i was playing on agame boy.Cool weapons a shotgun,machine gun,stun gun,grenadelauncher,rocket launcher and a flame thrower. Just wait till you get tolevel 2 you'll melt with joy when you get the chain gun one big s.o.b ha haha.And theres 36 or more enemies.21 levels of killing.You get to ride in aarmy tank and a rocket ship.This is not like duke3d for the computer itslike Duke 1 and 2 but is still cool.i remember when duke3d came out in 1986my step dad was a tester so he got a beta version. A great game!
I love Duke Nukem from PC and Playstation. While I must admit this game is fun it can in no way live up to the other system versions. I missed alot ofthe sick jokes that make Nukem games so fun. Like after you shoot a pigwith a rocket launcher, Duke would say something like "Mmmm I smellbacon". Stuff like that. Still it's worth it.

It is not made to simulate Duke Nukem 3D, it is supposed to simulate the original Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem 2. The game is well planned for Game Boy color even though it has limited graphic abilities. The sound effects are good, it hasgood graphics for the GameBoy system and there are many levels. Very unique Gameboy title!
Wow, what a refreshing Gameboy title. This is unlike anything out there. I wish there were even more games like this one. To sum it all up, you're in control of the "gang" and you're out to solve a mystery. The mystery of the missing jewels to be precise. Each character is off exploring a different part of the mansion and you can switch characters at any point during the game. So you can control Freddy, Daphne, Velma or Scooby + Shag. As you explore the mansion you'll acquire useful items and clues to help you in your quest to solve the mystery. Theres a fair amount of humor in the game and some clever thinking will help you make use of the items you find. This is not your typical run, jump and shoot game, this is a true old-school adventure game with a great little plot. Its really nice to see something like this available for the Gameboy, I think older audiences will really appreciate it. The graphics and sound and great too considering this is a Gameboy game. Scooby fans and Adventure fans will most certainly want to check this title out! Scooby-Dooby-Doo!

frustrating for little kids
My son wanted this because he is a big Scooby Doo fan, however, he was very disappointed with the game.The problem is that you have to be able to read and understand the clues given in order to play the game.He just started kindergarten and can not read yet.This may be a great game - I'm not sure. But if your child can not read then I would not recommend this game.

Great for Gameboy
If you are a Scooby Doo fan, then you need to add this to your collection.It is a very fun game for the Gameboy system.Not too difficult to the point of frustration.To me, a game should be fun and challenging, not frustrating like some games, and this game will challenge you without the frustration.If you are looking for a nice game for a child, young adult, or yourself then I would recommend this for your Gameboy.

I'm hooked!
My son received this game as a gift and gave it to me to try.I loved it!I can't play a lot of the fast paced, hand & eye coordination games, so this was perfect for me!I like the fact that you can't get killed, but you have to think to solve the mystery!

Good for the first time, but afterwards it's pretty boring
I would have to agree with reggi12398's review and say that this game is pretty good for older games for the first time because it's really challenging, but after a while the game becomes too short and boring. Now when I play it, it only takes me an hour to finish it. I recommend it to players 12 and under, the will find this game really great. I found this game to be almost as enjoyable as the first Tomb Raider game for Gameboy Colour. The action was plentiful, and there were some interesting puzzles to work through in the process of getting through the game.
I have only given it three stars though for two particular reasons.
Firstly, I found it irritating that little prompts kept popping up throughout the game whenever Lara approached an item or a doorway. Perhaps others have found this helpful - I expect it would be to anyone for whom this was their first experience with a Tomb Raider game.
Secondly, and most major: I encountered a major glitch during the sequence when Lara was on the speeding train. Once the train started moving, and Lara begins making her way to the front, you will come across a save diamond. I used this the first time I played the game, and when I had to restart the game due to crashing and burning (I think I actually decapitated Lara that time round), I discovered the graphics were all warped. I don't mean that they were illegible. The graphics appear normal - until Lara starts running across empty spaces, and falls through holes where there doesn't appear to be any holes. You jump her across what you think is the gap between carriages, only to have her fall through an apparently non-existent hole and die.
No matter what I did I could not fix the problem, and I could not reach the front of the train to complete the sequence. Ultimately I had to start over from the beginning again.
I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, but to play it safe, use the last available save diamond before talking to the old man and getting on the train. Do not use the diamond that is on the train itself.
That aside, there is a wonderful assortment of scenery in the game. It starts off in a museum, which Lara must escape from in order to pursue the thieves.
From there, after 'defeating' a mini boss on the rooftops of New York, she must negotiate an underground maze of rail tunnels, and then make her way through two hazardous warehouses on the wharf, find her way into an underwater lab filled with zombies and collect and charge all the batteries she needs to operate a mini-sub, which she must negotiate through a dangerous maze underwater. (Hint, save as many of your health packs as you can for this part - you're going to need them)
From this last section, you will jump to the last scenes of the game, set on a distant island.
Some may feel that the final boss is something of a let down compared to the rest of the game, but it all depends on your point of view. It was extraordinarily easy to defeat the boss, but the real fun was in getting to that final battle, not in the battle itself.

Tomb Raider
This is one of my favorite games. You start out trying to get from room to room, looking for your gun. There's limited places to go without your gun, because you are not able to get buy the police. This game is perfect with the difficulty levels-they are not to hard and not to easy. I highly recommend this game.

Good game!
There should be more games like this, what would be great is if they improved the graphics and made it for GBA. I actually got this when I got my GBA. It is really fun, and not too hard to figure out. This is especially recommended to any Tomb Raider fans. Plus, I got this for a pretty good price.
Pros:
1) Pretty good price (used anyway)
2) Lots of puzzles, not to easy nor to hard to figure out
3) People with GBC still can play it
4) Fairly good graphics
Cons:
1) Some controls are difficult
2) Only one slot for one saved game
3) Some people may get bored early in the game

The Real Cuse of the Sword
This game is better than some people give it credit for... The only thing that isn't that great is that there is NO BACKGROUND MUSIC!Everything else rules!Personally I find the level RUNAWAY TRAIN the best.

Fun But Needs More
This game is sort of fun. I like it but when I heard about the playstation game I thought the gameboy game needs more. I also think they should have it for the computer. It needs more things to do. Like how the people who have the game get to pick out their markings and name the horses, or how they go shopping for their stuff. I really think they should have this for a 95 or higher computer.

Can You Say BORING!!!
I bought this game when it frist came out! I played it for hour and got extremly bored! I ended up throughing my gameboy color when I got so sick of losing control. If you play this game under the age of 8, you will have problems! And after I played this game I wondered, do Mary-Kate and Ashley accually play their boring and stupid games, because if they did... they would be boerd out of their minds too! GO GET IT
This is the best!! Any powerpuff girl fan or just a reguler player must have this game!!! It is super cool!! My whole family liked it because it is Bubbles!! It can get boring but my family is not bored with it and we have had it for 2 years!!! I think this is a must have game!!!:}

It's better than nothing
I rented this game and within 10 minutes I was already bored.It's just plain boring.The backgrounds are bland and the ability to fly makes it way too easy.Even if you like the Powerpuff Girls show, you should stay far away from this terrible game.
