Amazon.com Review Pokémon characters abound; your young cousin or little sister should beable to rattle off many of their names effortlessly. The game is designed foryoung gamers, and encourages problem solving--something that all parents shouldwant their children to learn while playing a game. Thankfully, the game controlsare easy to pick up, and the tasks are easy to execute. For a puzzle game, this one has a good number of gameplay options and modes.Puzzle University looks simple, at first, but it proves to be a realbrainteaser. In this mode, you must clear the entire screen in a limited numberof moves--a twist that makes the game surprisingly addictive. It's good to seethat Pokémon Puzzle Challenge has made some minor improvements onthe now-classic game of Tetris. Naturally, the graphics are better on the Nintendo 64 version; but, if you'vegot a long ride planned, or that plane's been delayed, this game will turn hoursinto minutes. If you're looking for a family-friendly title for all of the GameBoy Color users in your family, look no further than Pokémon PuzzleChallenge. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Reviews (19)
But there's a downside as well. It's very hard.My 11-year-old sister, a much more rabid Pokemon fan than myself, has informed me of the different ways to play the game so as to win the "extra Pokemon" (Sentret, Marrill, etc.) but it is almost impossible to do so.I have had the game for over a year and have still not managed to win Sentret.Still, it's not as if I'm going to stop trying.(Read: it's not as if I CAN stop trying.) :-)
This is a great puzzle game, and i can see it as a future classic.Personally, i don't like pokemon, but this puzzle game is SO fun I forgot it had anything to do with pokemon(dont ask me how I managed that). One thing that got to me was the sounds the pokemon make when you do special moves...these get quite irritating after a while.BUT, in the options menu you can turn off the pokemon sounds without turning off all the other sounds, or if you hate all the sounds that would be why you have a volume control ^_~.Overall, this game is a must have filled with endless funn...BUY IT!!! ... Amazon.com Review It must be stated that these games, while they have been improved, areessentially the same as they were earlier, with these exceptions: names ofpeople and places have been altered--which will disappoint only those who haveplayed the originals--and the graphics are more detailed than before. The differences between the two titles play almost like a history lesson inRPGs. In the first game, players travel as a single character who's set torescue a princess and slay a dragon. In the second game, players manage a partyof four heroes, each of whom has his or her own unique talents in magic orweaponry (or both). The game pits them against multiple enemies at a time, asopposed to a single foe. Also, the addition of a save-anytime feature eliminatesneedless retread. Overall, Dragon Warrior I & II is a great value, and perfect foranyone who's interested in taking a trip, whether it be cross-country or downmemory lane. --Robb Guido Pros: Reviews (33)
PROS: CONS: OVERALL:
DRAGON WARRIOR I: Even though this game was short, it was difficult for me. As i've said, i've never played Dragon Warrior before, so it was new to me. You are the descendant of the dead and legendary hero, Loto (formerly known as Erdrick back on the the original Dragon Warrior for the NES). You as one person, set out on a quest to rescue Lady Lora, daughter of King Lars XVI of Alefgard and defeat the evil Dracolord. In this game, there are several towns were there are inns, weapons and armory shops. You will of course need to equip some weapons ad armory to become more powerful. During the course of the game, you will also get the chance of equiping more powerful equipment. You are also supposed to find two things in this game, the rainstaff and the sunstone. Once you obtain the Loto Seal, go to a shrine south of the town of Rimulbar, talk to the elderly man and he will give you a rainbow drop. You then use the rainbow drop to form a bridge to get to Dracolord's castle. You must be above level 20 to defeat Dracolord's two forms, one as a human like creature, and the other as a monster. It was easy for me. This game alone, i give it 5 stars and above. DRAGON WARRIOR II:Can't say much about this game becuase i'm in the middle of it. This game is way harder than its predecessor. In this game, you the Prince of Lorasia must find the Princess of Moonbrook and the Prince of Cannock and defeat Hargon. The storyline in this game takes place 100 years after Dragon Warrior I. You get to make up a name for you the Prince of Lorasia, but the computer makes up the names for the Prince of Cannock and the Princess of Moonbrook. I can't rate this game as of yet, so you all will have to wait until i beat it. Then i will give you more info on Dragon Warrior II. Now let me bring to your attention the other Dragon Warrior games. I hear Dragon Warrior III for the GBC is the best of the entire legend of Loto series. I hope to get it for my birthday. I have never played with Dragon Warrior IV on the NES, so i don't know anything about it. What's stupid is the idea of Enix not thinking of releasing Dragon Warrior V and Dragon Warrior VI in the United States. I think Enix should release both of them for either the GBA,GCN, and the Playstation 2. That's crazy. Also they should re-release Dragon Warrior IV for the advance. I could tell from these reviews that sales for the previous Dragon Warrior games were successful SO I HOPE ENIX RE-RELEASES DRAGON WARRIOR IV FOR THE GBA. Also, Enix should re-release Dragon Warrior VII for the GCN. Right now, the GCN doesn't have that many good games and not that many RPG's, so the GCN does need a Dragon Warrior game. One final thing. I hear SquareEnix (Square, the company that makes Final Fantasy and Enix have now merged into SquareEnix) i going to release Dragon Warrior VIII for the Playstation 2 sometime in 2004. I HOPE THEY ALSO RELEASE IT FOR THE GCN.Thank you for your attention and so long.
"Dragon Warrior I" is the story about a lone warrior whom must save a kidnapped Princess from a gang of monsters. "Dragon Warrior II" on the other hand tells about a group of heros and their quest to stop a different kind of foe.(I'm not too sure about this one quite yet.) The first is probably the most TOUGHEST of all, while the rest in the series is a bit easier. "Dragon Warrior III" is the best remake of them all yet! But even the old Nes version of "Dragon Warrior IV" is pretty good. "Dragon Warrior: Monsters" is a bit kiddy' like, but still a nice addition. Kinda' reminds me of Pokemon only better!! Here's a small rating for each one: DRAGON WARRIOR I ****(4-stars. Fun gameplay and the option to go anywhere you choose is a good challenge.) DRAGON WARRIOR II *****(5-stars. Better than the original since you get four characters altogether to help. Not too familiar with the story yet). DRAGON WARRIOR III *****(5-stars. A very, VERY cool opening sequence for this one. Especially at the battle against the Dragon. The option to choose characters is awesome! Better than I and II!! DRAGON WARRIOR IV ***(3-stars. Fair gameplay but the movement is VERY poor. It's a cool change that you play as different people in different stories. Battle system can use some improvement though.) DRAGON WARRIOR V ***(3-stars. It's alright, but the graphics went a bit downhill here. Much different than the others in the series but good.). DRAGON WARRIOR VI ****(4-stars. Improved graphics and a worthy sequel. The characters are much, MUCH better than those from part 5.). DRAGON WARRIOR VII (N/A I haven't played this one yet.) OVERALL: An excellent series altogether!!!

Amazon.com Product Description In the fantasy role-playing game Magi Nation, you'll use the mineral-based magic of the Eliwan to battle Agram's fierce monsters. You'll explore colorful, otherworldly landscapes as you journey through to the game's conclusion. Reviews (32)
The game itself is easy to learn, and quick addict. You are Tony Jones, a regular kid in our world. He gets bullied into retrieving crystals from a cave, and is transported to the Mooonlands. Once in the Moondlands, the Naroom people will explain how animite, rings, summoning, and dream creatures work. You explore a mass of worlds, each with their own unique elements, music, and creatures. Magi Nation is a wonderful game. Although lacking in some aspects, it is still worth picking it up to anyone who is a fan of the card game, and even someone who is just starting out. The music is beautiful. Tools werebrought out by Factor5, and did an amazing job with bringing out memorable tracks. Gameplay is easy to learn. Although some of the menus have difficulting with scrolling and cancelling selections, they are easy to overcome. Graphics are an interesting cut above, with short cut scenes that display chosen attacks and spells during battles. Up to four creatures can be summoned in any battle. Magi battles give a feel of boss fights, as well as a challenge. Leveling up creatures is EXTREMELY tedious, and one of the only downfalls of the game. Energy consumption is insane when battling. But, no one ever said games had to be easy. Still, the battling system is generally unique in comparison with other RPG's. 4/5 stars is my rating. The game makes you think with plenty of puzzles, the music will be stuck in your head forever, and it is simply ingenious. For more information on Moonlands & the rest of Magi-Nation, I encourage everyone to visit the official Magi-Nation website, at http://www.magi-nation.com

I'll start with the good points. There are 15 levels, so it's not a game you will complete while stuck in traffic. It's in a 3D first-person perspective, none of that light-bulb's eye view of the tops of people's heads. There are four characters to choose from, choices being from high-brawn/low mana to kinda-weak/lotsa mana. Unfortunately, all four are male, which is something most of us females are already used to anyway. There are two slots for saving your game; this is like a godsend, one slot would be helpful enough but that second slot is handy when you realize you never should have pressed that button two levels ago! Your avatar is alive; you can't just bash and fireball your way through to the end, you need to make sure the avatar has enough food and water to make it. Sleep too is necessary, so remember those safe areas. The storyline is simple but fun enough to keep the gameplay exciting. The monsters are well designed, there is good variety there. There are lots of spells, but the spell preparation takes some getting used to. On the downside, there were a couple of puzzles that did not have adequate hints (the savegame feature comes in very handy here when you realize you've opened the wrong door). There are many secret doors and hidden areas, this means after the first three levels you will have to basically walk into every blank wall you see to find these undetectable areas. It's time consuming and gets tiring fast, but worth the effort in the end. A knowledge of the game of chess is necessary later on in the game. The first time through, I played with Mr. Bulging Muscles Low IQ, and the game went along pretty well. He can pretty much carry everything he comes across, wear full plate armor and still bend over to pick up that Death Mace of Doom. When I played round two with Superwizard, I found that he can't wear light armor, carry a pouch of food and water, wield a little dagger, and still expect to pick up that scroll the giant cobra dropped. Character advancement is unimpressive; gaining a level seemed to have more to do with stumbling up a flight of stairs than with solving puzzles or exterminating monsters. Also, the character maxes out rather quickly. There is an automap feature, which is handy when you want to see if there's enough space for the area to contain one of those secret rooms. It's too bad this automap feature is not always accurate; if you're near the bottom of a square, the surrounding areas change shape and those corridors stretch out. This is a fun GameBoy Color game for those who like fantasy RPG, though there are many less fancy games that are at least as enjoyable. Note: The software designers were very good about e-mailing a map and a list of hints when I got stuck on one of the levels.
IfRPGs is your game, I can't recommend Towers enough.

Amazon.com Review The plot has something to do with our hero, the pink puffball named Kirby, in his adventure to retrieve the stolen stars of his homeland. Like past Kirby games, there's plenty of surreal imagery that features clouds, lots of pastel colors, and plenty of cuddly bad guys. Chances are you'll be mesmerized by Kirby's control scheme. For the most part, your tilting of the Game Boy unit determines the direction in which Kirby will roll. It's extremely simplistic yet so engrossing that even adults will risk embarrassment while shifting their entire bodies in an attempt to save Kirby from meeting his doom. Even for a game based solely on level design, complaints here are few. Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble requires precise tilting and stable hands, so don't play it on the bus or train. It's easy to lose track of Kirby while tilting due to the Game Boy's inherent screen-glare problems, and that will cause timing problems. Those who think they're too cool for ultracute gaming should avoid this game. Everyone else, though, should get their hands on this one before it rolls away. --Mark Brooks Pros: Cons: Reviews (40)
Back when GBA came out on the market and was all the rage, I was stuck with my little, hot pink Gameboy Color when everyone else had the sleek new model.I was also a kirby fanatic, and was desperate for a Kirby game.So after some research on the internet, I finally found one - Kirby Tilt N' Tumble.I was disappointed that it wasn't being sold anymore, so finally, for Christmas 2003 my parents bought it for me from eBay, unfortunately just the cartridge and no instructions or box. I was anxious to get playing right away that morning, so I popped it in and found it was a very easy game to learn.I already new a little about the controls, tilting to move Kirby in the desired direction, and it was nice that whenever I had to learn a new move to advance, the game would pause and teach me.Eventually, I easily learned the whole game without any instructions! With 5 goofy yet fun mini-games to play, 8 exciting and challenging words to explore, plenty of cute and cuddly bad guys and a simple, easy-to-follow storyline, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a game that doesn't lose its fun anytime soon after buying, versus other games that lose all the fun after you've beat the game. Why, I've owned it for a year already and there's still secret words and warp stars I'm discovering all the time. Now, there are a few cons I'll warn you about before you go out and spend your money. This isn't the game to bring on that 10-hour car trip to visit Aunt Ruth, because the constant moving in vehicles makes it hard to control Kirby. As well, it's not the kind of game where you can lay back against the pillows, stretch out your feet and sip the lemonade, either. You're always swivelling your body back and forth, side to side, and so forth when tilting your little pink puffball. Not a big deal, but its not just hitting buttons like other games. I don't have this problem too much, since I usually play in good light, but you may have a hard time keeping an eye on Kirby when you tilt the screen forward and lose sight of him from the light glinting off the screen.Annoying, yes, but the game is still worth it, trust me. Overall, this game is definitely worth every penny you're paying for it.As long as you don't mind things being cute and cuddly all of the time, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a great gaming experience that will last for months and months after your purchase.
The 1-Star reflects this issue with the SP, otherwise I think it's a 5-star game.

My only gripes with the game are that I wish the sound was a bit crisper and that there was some character voices or something to keep things sonically fresh. All that's presented are the ball sounds, a crowd cheer and an announcer saying "out", when you hit the ball out of bounds. The control is not only varied, but easy to learn.Young ones will have no problem learning the basics. But once those basics are mastered, you'll find you can actually control the movement of the ball in air and many other things. This is a perfect game for long trips as tennis matches are quite long and trying to aquire the extra characters will take extra endurance.Once you start, you'll have to tornnn away from your GBC! No doubt about it, if you like tennis and/or the Peanuts, you will love this game.
