5-0 out of 5 stars Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
I am 6 and play this by myself. Some of the turns are really hard . There are 3 races for each planet. It is not like the computer game.I have only won the first race on Tatoine.I don't like the Hoth race.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome GameBoy Game!
This is the best Game Boy Color game I have ever played in my life! The graphics are excellent, considering the graphical limits placed on the system. The sound is awesome, and I like the rumble pack that is included with the game. It has a great replay value, and the game play never really gets boring. The only thing I had trouble with was the tight turns, but even here it wasn't really a problem. Anyone who is a Star Wars fan, looking for a good GBC game, or buying for little kids should buy this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best
The best Gameboy game that I have ever played is Star Wars Episode I Racer. It is extremely addictive, and quite fun.The little rumble pack included is quite cool. This game takes a while to beat, and it is entertaining to beat Sebulba at the end.The variety of its graphics make this game worth its price.

2-0 out of 5 stars You Should Be able to...
Pod racing is a good game because you have a good veiw ,and it has good graphics. The problem is you cannot turn well at all. Some turns it is impossible to make! Also, you can't get power ups. I would not reccomend this game to anyone who just likes to play the game for the fun, and not other things like graphics and speed of the game.

2-0 out of 5 stars I'll pass, thanks
Star Wars Episode One Racer is a highly addictive game, but addictive is noe necessarily a good thing. The graphics are good, for GBC, bu this game is just like most other GBC racers, this only offers get-in-1st-and-win gameplay, which I personally am not a big fan of.But for others who do enjoy the repeatative and, well, boring pace that this game offers, get this game, but for those who like fun, look elsewhere. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This Is a Great Game Boy!
I have had this system for at least 5 years and is is still running like NEW! I have dropped is tons of tines on the floor(not to mention the pavement)And not even a rattle from inside.I suggest several games (some of my favorites)Daffy Duck Fowl Play,Super Marieo Bros. Deluxe,And Dogz Virutal pets.Buy This system It is great and a Great price if I Had the money I would buy another one myself.

4-0 out of 5 stars How good is the GameBoy Color System?
Well, I bought my GameBoy System a few months before the GameBoy Advance was released :( (bummer, i should have waited)

The GameBoy Color system is great for long road trips or just plain at-home fun. Here are my Pros and Cons about it:

Pros: Portable, and has a wide variety of games, inlcuding previous GameBoy (original) games. It features ok sound and SNES-like graphics. Gameplay is in color unlike the original [GameBoy]. Battery life is about 10 hours.

Cons: Screen is hard to see without a light directly behind you while playing (u should get a wormlight). Interface (GameBoy Logo) is quite annoying after a while.

Overall, if you're interested in hand-held portable fun, then you should buy it. I have a TEAL-colored GBC (GameBoy Color).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great handheld system, great price
I got my Game Boy Color for Chrsitmas last eyar along with several games. This is by afr the best handheld system availible price-wise. The system is...cheaper than teh new Game BOy Advance if you buy it used and the games are ...cheaper as well. The graphics may not be top notch, but don't let that fool you. There many great games including the traditional Nintendo games like Donkey Kong Country and Mario games, sports games liek Madden, All-Star Baseball and Ronaldo Soccer. There is a huge library of games with hudnreds availible. ...This is way better than the bulky Game Boy and much lighter and smaller. THe only problem with it is the buttons are to close and too small which causes a problem for people with big hands like me.

MUST HAVE GAMES:
Harry Potetr and the Soceror's Stone
All-Star Baseball 2001
Donkey Kong Country
Driver
Pokemon (hey, pokemon is gay, but the game sure is fun)
Zelda

5-0 out of 5 stars game boy color----nintendo's greatest feats!!!
The game boy color is possibly the cheapest, coolest, most entertaining nintedo system that there is on the market. The gameboy advance is just another copy of the gbc with a half a centimeter of a bigger screen and a flashy look. Don't let the gba ruin your point of view on the gbc. The system that started it all...

5-0 out of 5 stars A really good system
With the recent release of the 32-bit Game Boy Advance, you may think that all Game Boy Color systems are next month's yard sale fodder. Well, that's just dead wrong. The tall, small-screened systems are still being played by Nintendo fans, even Game Boy Advance owners. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Animorphs well the books are great
This game is okay if get past all the down sides. But bassicly its like a wannabe Pokemon game.
Pros- 1. You get to play as Jake,Cassie,Marco, and Rachel.
2. A lot of animals and Insects to aquire and its fun searching for new animals.
3. Some missions are fun.
4. You get to play as animals like dolphin, bat, mole, seal.
5. you can go around town like an animal.
6. Jakes mission is long.
Cons- 1.You have to write down a long long long code as soon as it says your proggress has been saved.
2. Cassies mission sucks.
3. You don't get to fight visser three.
4. The game can be hard.
5. You can only get seven morphs then you have to eraseone.
6. If anybody sees you morph you lose
7. You can't play as ax or tobias.
8. Most of the time you al you do is bite.
So if you find it for 5 bucks or if your a diehard Animorphs fan like me pick this one up.

1-0 out of 5 stars The worst game I've ever played.
This is the worst game I've ever played.I am a huge fan of the Animorphs books, however, the makers of this game obviously did not bother to read any of the book series. This game is a Pokémon rip off where you collect different morphs but leaves out important features such as experience points. This game is an insult to the intelligence of Animorphs fans and K.A. Applegate's talent as a writer.

1-0 out of 5 stars The books are great, but the game should be burned
This RPG wannabe is not worth the money you pay for it. Once again this is one of those games you're better off burning your money on than purchasing. If you've ever wondered how bad a game could possibly be, all you have to do is play this game. Because it's just not bad, it's abyssmal. The horrible RPG set up results in you either getting killed far too easy, or not knowing what you're doing. I never thought I'd see a game that I'd actually despise with every ounce of my being. But this is one of them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled, Animorphs fans!
I am an Animorphs fan so I bought this game, but this game is not much like Animorphs at all. It is more like a cheap copy of Pokemon! You battle aliens and other animals with different attacks. The attacks can lower defence, lower accuracy, lower attack power, or weaken the alien. The attacks will almost always miss, so battles could go on for hours at a time! This may seem like a strategy game, but there is almost no stragtegy involved! You can morph anywhere you want and you don't even need to worry about the two hour time limit! Besides that, the game is really hard to save and the directions aren't clear. On the first level you have no idea what you are supposed to be looking for! The manual says almost nothing and the game doesn't even tell you what anything about the level! I have had this game for over a year and I still don't know what to do on the first level! Trust me, wandering around aimlessly is incredibly boring after the first few minutes! Saving is very frusturating and it takes so long it isn't even worth it! And unlike the Animorphs books, this game has a terrible storyline! Don't let the name fool you, every aspect of this game stinks!

4-0 out of 5 stars Mission:Animorphs
The Animorphs game is challenging so I would recommend this to people who are 8 and up or to those who have long attention spans. Thisgame has 5 challengeing levels In which you have to defeat the Yeerks,Tiny Alien Slugs Which crawl into your brain and take total control over you,and thier leader Visser Three.{The only yeerk ever to obtaine an Andalite body.} In each level you play as one of the animorph characters Cassie, Jake, Marco, and Ax.{An Andalite. It has a humans upper body, a scorpions tail, a deers body, and it has no mouth because They eat with thier hooves. they also have two almond shape eyes and have two eyes on stalks.}Another member of the group is Tobias, you wont get to play as him because he is a nothlit, a person trapped in a animal body,But he does give you helpful hints and clues. Which reminds me there is a time limit to morphing,Two Hours, if you stay in morph past the time limit you will become a nothlit and the game will end, But you don't need to worry because Tobias will let you know when your time is almost up. In the game you have to acomplish tasks to get Animal morphs such as, you have to get the snake before you can get stronger morphs such as the lion and the elephant. As I said before it's challengeing but it's worth it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

From the second you plug this game into your Game Boy Color, it'sapparent that Pokémon Puzzle Challenge is essentially theTetris Attack that was released some time ago for the Nintendo 64 andGame Boy systems.

Pokémon characters abound; your young cousin or little sister should beable to rattle off many of their names effortlessly. The game is designed foryoung gamers, and encourages problem solving--something that all parents shouldwant their children to learn while playing a game. Thankfully, the game controlsare easy to pick up, and the tasks are easy to execute.

For a puzzle game, this one has a good number of gameplay options and modes.Puzzle University looks simple, at first, but it proves to be a realbrainteaser. In this mode, you must clear the entire screen in a limited numberof moves--a twist that makes the game surprisingly addictive. It's good to seethat Pokémon Puzzle Challenge has made some minor improvements onthe now-classic game of Tetris.

Naturally, the graphics are better on the Nintendo 64 version; but, if you'vegot a long ride planned, or that plane's been delayed, this game will turn hoursinto minutes. If you're looking for a family-friendly title for all of the GameBoy Color users in your family, look no further than Pokémon PuzzleChallenge. --Todd Mowatt

Pros:

  • Challenging and extremely addictive Tetris variant
  • Fun for just about anyone
Cons:
  • Repetitive voice samples quickly become annoying

3-0 out of 5 stars Ow, My Fingers!!
This game is, to say the least, Addictive With A Capital "A".
It might seem hard when you start playing (I know it was for me; I got stuck at one point in Easy Mode the first time around), but it becomes much much easier over time. However, I've had it for give or take a few years and bits of it still escape me (i.e. how to get Sentret, how to beat the thing in less than 25 seconds, etc. etc.).Oh well, I expect I'll figure those bits out too.
One more thing: do NOT play this at night if you can't sleep.I did this once, and for about two days afterwards, whenever I stared at the wall, I saw puzzle designs.True story.
And you will probably like this game if you like Tetris.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, fun!
Don't be turned off by the cutesy Pokemon theme. This is "Tetris Attack" (from the SNES), but with lots of extra modes. The creators took advantage of the Pokemon world to create some neat challenge modes. This game is extremely addictive.I recommend playing this on a Gameboy Advance SP so that you'll have a lighted screen. If not, you may have some eye strain trying to see the small blocks.

4-0 out of 5 stars ADDICTIVE!
This game will steal your soul.I'm not kidding.I turned it on once, planning to only play for a few minutes, and ended up glued to the spot (possibly drooling) for the remainder of the day.I might have fossilized if it hadn't been time for dinner.

But there's a downside as well. It's very hard.My 11-year-old sister, a much more rabid Pokemon fan than myself, has informed me of the different ways to play the game so as to win the "extra Pokemon" (Sentret, Marrill, etc.) but it is almost impossible to do so.I have had the game for over a year and have still not managed to win Sentret.Still, it's not as if I'm going to stop trying.(Read: it's not as if I CAN stop trying.) :-)

5-0 out of 5 stars finally, a game I can play!
We had purchased the Gameboy Advance a year ago, along with Mario, F-Zero and a few other titles. Those games just about killed the fun of the GBA machine. My 6 year old could never advance far enough and then I couldn't get her past the stages, so the GBA didn't get much use. Then I bought this game and some others for an upcoming trip and this game, Pokemon Puzzle Challenge is a winner. No getting stuck on a spot and then getting killed and having to start over. The variety on this Pokemon game is great and I really enjoy it.It looked great on the GBA system also. We also purchased the Puyo Pop, and although it is kind of similar in idea, it was a game my daughter liked and has stuck with. That one is a little harder to learn, but when it clicks, it is an easy concept and by changing the levels of difficulty, you can suit it to your own level(I live on the EASY level!).Even if you aren't into Pokemon, this is a fine game.I ignore the pokemon figures, much to my daughters dismay, and it has no effect on gameplay.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun even if you hate pokemon!
Graphics: 9.5/10- everything looks great, but there's not much to screw up when you just have colorful boxes.
Sound: 8/10-the music wasn't that bad...but the pokemon noises got annoying after a while.
Control: 10/10- super easy to learn
Replay value: 10/10- ENDLESS FUN
Over all: 9.5/10- super game...buy it

This is a great puzzle game, and i can see it as a future classic.Personally, i don't like pokemon, but this puzzle game is SO fun I forgot it had anything to do with pokemon(dont ask me how I managed that). One thing that got to me was the sounds the pokemon make when you do special moves...these get quite irritating after a while.BUT, in the options menu you can turn off the pokemon sounds without turning off all the other sounds, or if you hate all the sounds that would be why you have a volume control ^_~.Overall, this game is a must have filled with endless funn...BUY IT!!! ... Amazon.com Product Description

"Game & Watch" portable games date from before the time of Game Boy, but are available again in both classic and updated versions. Parachute will have players catching falling paratroopers in a boat; the updated version features Mario as the captain, and Toad and Yoshi as the skydivers. The objective of Helmet is the opposite: avoid falling objects that are dropped by a Para-Koopa as Mario in this updated version. Chef teams up Princess Toadstool and Yoshi in a pancake-making mission. Vermin is similar to the arcade diversion "Whack-a-Mole," and stars Yoshi, who protects a nest of Yoshi Eggs from Shy Guys, Ghosts, and Para-Koopas. The updated Donkey Kong still stars the original gorilla, but contains three new levels. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to play and alot of fun
All of the Game and Watch Gallery's are a blast to play when you have a few minutes to blow or don't feel like playing something emersive. Anyone can pick up a gameboy and learn how to play the minigames in mear seconds - there really isn't a learning curve.

Fun for young children to adults (think mario party without the board game)

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible
When I bought this game used from a local game store I was wondering how long it would keep me entertained. When I first turned it on, I was expecting something similar to it;s predecessor, which I also own. First off, the 5 games instead of 4 was nice. Color really helped define things too. Then I got a few stars (every 200 points in a game earns one star) and so many extras got unlocked. There are three unlockable versions of Modern Ball. Mario, Yoshi, and Wario Versions. There is a museum of classic games which, although aren't playable, are a nice little history lesson. I give this game a 5 for being entertaining, innovative, and awesome. Good job Nintendo.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good and costs less than collecting them on e-reader
This is the second of the Game and Watch compilation series. With classics from when Nintendo first made handheld games with built in alarm clocks, you'll keep pretty busy. The games go on and on making you want to see how high of a score you can get. Still, it wont keep you too busy for long trips. They should've added just a few more games and made USEFUL special features. This is why I give it 4 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE SECOND BEST GAME AND WATCH GAME
I bought this game after game and watch gallery 3. I was amazed that i was like how did they do the graphics so real? When i knew that ball was in this game i was happy. After i played the classic in hard in easy mode i realized that the hard was easy and the easy was hard. Since the hard was easy i was scoring to get a 1000 points as usual instead i got 2000 something. Parachute is like fire but instead of Mario and Luigi holding a stretcher mario was in a boat and another boat up in the sky dropping the people. Helmet is a not to hard and not to easy game in the easy mode and it was al;most very hard in the hard mode and very very hard in the very hard mode. Chef was funny. In the modern mode mario and luigi kept throwing food for princess to cook. And in the classic the mouse would eat the food if it fell on the floor. And last but not least Donkey kong. you have to save princess from Dk s.r. All i'm trying to say is that this game will make you forget what world you are in.

4-0 out of 5 stars GWG2
This game is alot of fun it has many cool games on which can be played in either black and white or in color.I didn't have the time to play it and i just couldn't figure it out but what i could figure out is that it is a lot of fun to play. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

It's hard to believe that these titles are only 10 years old, considering how far role-playing games have come over the years. In fact,Dragon Warrior actually defined the beloved RPG genre for video gameconsoles. It began the whole system of turn-based battles against monsters, landroaming, and building character experience through fighting. And, now, all ofthis is back for younger players to enjoy for the first time, and for olderplayers to relish once again.

It must be stated that these games, while they have been improved, areessentially the same as they were earlier, with these exceptions: names ofpeople and places have been altered--which will disappoint only those who haveplayed the originals--and the graphics are more detailed than before.

The differences between the two titles play almost like a history lesson inRPGs. In the first game, players travel as a single character who's set torescue a princess and slay a dragon. In the second game, players manage a partyof four heroes, each of whom has his or her own unique talents in magic orweaponry (or both). The game pits them against multiple enemies at a time, asopposed to a single foe. Also, the addition of a save-anytime feature eliminatesneedless retread.

Overall, Dragon Warrior I & II is a great value, and perfect foranyone who's interested in taking a trip, whether it be cross-country or downmemory lane. --Robb Guido

Pros:

  • Brings back memories of the old days
  • Focus is on gameplay

4-0 out of 5 stars Completely old school.
If you're old enough to remember playing this game on the original NES and getting issues if Nintendo Power in the mail just for the maps, congratulations. This game mostly just follows the monotmous cycle of go to town, kill monsters to get gold to buy better weapon, go to next town, get more gold to buy next better weapon.

This game is from back in the days where you knew how challenging a monster was, based on what color it was (is it a red slime or purple silme?).

Somehow, though the game is still compelling making you want to see just was in that next down, or what might be on the 4th level of that identical level cave.

The scant backstory allows your mind and imagination to fill in the blanks as to the hero's past and the villian's intent. Overall, the game is simple classic fun free from the excess that tends to weight down the modern RPG.

4-0 out of 5 stars Two classics return!
When it comes to role playing games from the old days, there are two major series of them that stand out in gamers' minds - Squaresoft's Final Fantasy series and Enix's Dragon Warrior series. Although the former is obviously the more popular series in the modern age, the latter was once an equally respected and loved series - just ask anyone who played video games in the early nineties. In recent years, Enix did gamers a huge favor - they rereleased the first two games in the series on the Game Boy Color! Read on for my review of this, a single cartridge containing both Dragon Warrior I and II.

PROS:
-This cartridge contains TWO games, which have been called classic RPGs for years. And now, new gamers will be able to see why.
-The graphics have been cleaned up quite a bit, and the resolution is improved. Battles also include new backgrounds.
-The godawful menu system of the old games was fixed! Now I don't have to select "stairs" from a menu every time I want to climb some! Likewise, I can now talk to people by pushing just one button, and not going through the menus!
-The game adds an animated intro. It's nothing fancy, but it's still a nice touch.
-The game gets a new English translation, truer to the Japanese originals.
-For anyone who doesn't know, these games were co-created by Dragon Ball Z creator Akira Toriyama. The Toriyama name always means quality.

CONS:
-Obviously, these games are MUCH more simplistic than the games that modern gamers tend to desire. The simplicity of the games may turn off potential gamers.
-The cover art is HORRIBLE! Why didn't they just have Akira Toriyama draw up a new cover? He's a great artist!
-If you already mastered the NES versions of these games, you're not going to find anything new here.

OVERALL:
If you're a fan of old-school RPGs, this game is for you! If you're a hardcore gamer of the modern age, you might be disappointed, but regardless of who you are, these are two classic role playing games worth checking out. They stand as solid proof - the Dragon Warrior series is AWESOME.

4-0 out of 5 stars The return of two amazin classics!!
I would like to fix my previous review and write a more clearer one. So bare with me. Up until last Fall, i've never heard about Dragon Warrior. I know you all think that i'm stupid for missing out on a great RPG like Dragon Warrior, so let me explain. I've been into the video game market for 13 years, since the age of 3. It's been difficult for me to know what games were coming out, when they were coming out and what they were. It wasn't until i got the internet and when i searched on this website did i realize that i missed out on alot of really great games, Dragon Warrior being one of them. Dragon Warrior was the first RPG game ever released in the United States. These two games were released in 1989 back on the Nintendo Entertainment System. They were the first games to pioneer the idea of land roaming, monster battling and building character experience. Enough said. Now to the games.

DRAGON WARRIOR I: Even though this game was short, it was difficult for me. As i've said, i've never played Dragon Warrior before, so it was new to me. You are the descendant of the dead and legendary hero, Loto (formerly known as Erdrick back on the the original Dragon Warrior for the NES). You as one person, set out on a quest to rescue Lady Lora, daughter of King Lars XVI of Alefgard and defeat the evil Dracolord. In this game, there are several towns were there are inns, weapons and armory shops. You will of course need to equip some weapons ad armory to become more powerful. During the course of the game, you will also get the chance of equiping more powerful equipment. You are also supposed to find two things in this game, the rainstaff and the sunstone. Once you obtain the Loto Seal, go to a shrine south of the town of Rimulbar, talk to the elderly man and he will give you a rainbow drop. You then use the rainbow drop to form a bridge to get to Dracolord's castle. You must be above level 20 to defeat Dracolord's two forms, one as a human like creature, and the other as a monster. It was easy for me. This game alone, i give it 5 stars and above.

DRAGON WARRIOR II:Can't say much about this game becuase i'm in the middle of it. This game is way harder than its predecessor. In this game, you the Prince of Lorasia must find the Princess of Moonbrook and the Prince of Cannock and defeat Hargon. The storyline in this game takes place 100 years after Dragon Warrior I. You get to make up a name for you the Prince of Lorasia, but the computer makes up the names for the Prince of Cannock and the Princess of Moonbrook. I can't rate this game as of yet, so you all will have to wait until i beat it. Then i will give you more info on Dragon Warrior II.

Now let me bring to your attention the other Dragon Warrior games. I hear Dragon Warrior III for the GBC is the best of the entire legend of Loto series. I hope to get it for my birthday. I have never played with Dragon Warrior IV on the NES, so i don't know anything about it. What's stupid is the idea of Enix not thinking of releasing Dragon Warrior V and Dragon Warrior VI in the United States. I think Enix should release both of them for either the GBA,GCN, and the Playstation 2. That's crazy. Also they should re-release Dragon Warrior IV for the advance. I could tell from these reviews that sales for the previous Dragon Warrior games were successful SO I HOPE ENIX RE-RELEASES DRAGON WARRIOR IV FOR THE GBA. Also, Enix should re-release Dragon Warrior VII for the GCN. Right now, the GCN doesn't have that many good games and not that many RPG's, so the GCN does need a Dragon Warrior game. One final thing. I hear SquareEnix (Square, the company that makes Final Fantasy and Enix have now merged into SquareEnix) i going to release Dragon Warrior VIII for the Playstation 2 sometime in 2004. I HOPE THEY ALSO RELEASE IT FOR THE GCN.Thank you for your attention and so long.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this series, so I give it altogether 5-stars!
One of my all time favorites in the RPG-category would have to be the "Dragon Warrior" saga. This special pack includes both "Dragon Warrior I" and "Dragon Warrior II". Both are classics, each one with its own storyline, characters etc.

"Dragon Warrior I" is the story about a lone warrior whom must save a kidnapped Princess from a gang of monsters. "Dragon Warrior II" on the other hand tells about a group of heros and their quest to stop a different kind of foe.(I'm not too sure about this one quite yet.)

The first is probably the most TOUGHEST of all, while the rest in the series is a bit easier. "Dragon Warrior III" is the best remake of them all yet! But even the old Nes version of "Dragon Warrior IV" is pretty good.

"Dragon Warrior: Monsters" is a bit kiddy' like, but still a nice addition. Kinda' reminds me of Pokemon only better!! Here's a small rating for each one:

DRAGON WARRIOR I

****(4-stars. Fun gameplay and the option to go anywhere you choose is a good challenge.)

DRAGON WARRIOR II

*****(5-stars. Better than the original since you get four characters altogether to help. Not too familiar with the story yet).

DRAGON WARRIOR III

*****(5-stars. A very, VERY cool opening sequence for this one. Especially at the battle against the Dragon. The option to choose characters is awesome! Better than I and II!!

DRAGON WARRIOR IV

***(3-stars. Fair gameplay but the movement is VERY poor. It's a cool change that you play as different people in different stories. Battle system can use some improvement though.)

DRAGON WARRIOR V

***(3-stars. It's alright, but the graphics went a bit downhill here. Much different than the others in the series but good.).

DRAGON WARRIOR VI

****(4-stars. Improved graphics and a worthy sequel. The characters are much, MUCH better than those from part 5.).

DRAGON WARRIOR VII

(N/A I haven't played this one yet.)

OVERALL: An excellent series altogether!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Popular T/CCG Gets Pixelated
With the rising popularity of the Magi-Nation Trading/Collectible Card game, the guys and gals at I2 decided a vidoe game was in order.

The game itself is easy to learn, and quick addict. You are Tony Jones, a regular kid in our world. He gets bullied into retrieving crystals from a cave, and is transported to the Mooonlands. Once in the Moondlands, the Naroom people will explain how animite, rings, summoning, and dream creatures work. You explore a mass of worlds, each with their own unique elements, music, and creatures.

Magi Nation is a wonderful game. Although lacking in some aspects, it is still worth picking it up to anyone who is a fan of the card game, and even someone who is just starting out.

The music is beautiful. Tools werebrought out by Factor5, and did an amazing job with bringing out memorable tracks.

Gameplay is easy to learn. Although some of the menus have difficulting with scrolling and cancelling selections, they are easy to overcome.

Graphics are an interesting cut above, with short cut scenes that display chosen attacks and spells during battles. Up to four creatures can be summoned in any battle. Magi battles give a feel of boss fights, as well as a challenge.

Leveling up creatures is EXTREMELY tedious, and one of the only downfalls of the game. Energy consumption is insane when battling. But, no one ever said games had to be easy. Still, the battling system is generally unique in comparison with other RPG's.

4/5 stars is my rating. The game makes you think with plenty of puzzles, the music will be stuck in your head forever, and it is simply ingenious.

For more information on Moonlands & the rest of Magi-Nation, I encourage everyone to visit the official Magi-Nation website, at http://www.magi-nation.com

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Game, but Missing Some Things.
This is a great RPG for GBC. It is probably one of the best out there for this system. The battle system is a unique mix between card battling and pokemon-style. The graphics and sounds are stunning (for a GBC game) and the plot is very dark and mysterious. The witty remarks of Tony keep the game humorous. However, there are many flaws. 1: There are dozens of locked doors that you can never enter, and it always leaves you wondering. 2: There are 5 unattainable Dream Creatures; Platheus, Sphor, Bolt Hyren, Thunder Hyren, and Core Hyren. They are on the ring lists, you just never fight them in the wild to get their animite. 3: There are many parts of the game that seem glitchy (Ormagon) and you would never guess the way to do them without a guide. And, last but not least, there are only 5 different worlds! The game is not really that long, it just seems long because of the shadow geysers. They should remake this game for GBA with new worlds like Nar, D'Resh, the Weave, Paradwyn, and Kybar's Teeth, and include all of the dream creatures that they left out.

5-0 out of 5 stars very fun game but don't buy it if you only have a gba only!!
u must have a game boy color to play this game i put it in my gba and it was all dark and i couldn't see a thing good thing i have a gbc. thats all other than that the best gbc game every played.

3-0 out of 5 stars O.K.
The game starts out good. It's pretty interesting, the graphics are good and being able to cast spells yourself is pretty cool. But then it seems to go down hill. The dungeons get repetetive and there aren't the many creatures to choose from. But as you go along everyone in the game hates you and it starts to get boring. It is very hard to find any guides if you get stuck as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars buy it!
I dont want to ruin the story for you, but ill tell you this: you will never find a better game. The music is beautiful.I think they should sell it for a hundred, compared to this, money is nothing. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!
I bought this game for my 4 year old and he loves it!It's his first game and I was afraid that it might be too hard for him.As it turns out, he really likes the game and does pretty good with it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun game for small children!

5-0 out of 5 stars The greatest puzzle game ever?
In the late eighties and early nineties, Nintendo made a name for their Mario character by making him the star of many wildly successful platformer action/adventure games. By the time the eighties screeched to a halt, people knew that they could go to Mario for a high quality game. In the last part of the decade, Tetris caused a puzzle game revolution, and Nintendo obviously wanted to cash in on this, so they cast Mario in a puzzle game - appropriately entitled Dr. Mario. Read on for my review.

PROS:
-The game is easy to learn, yet difficult to master. These are the best types of video games out there.
-Even on one of the old black and white Game Boys, the graphics for this game look pretty good.
-If you've got two Game Boys, two games, and two link cables, you can to an insanely fun two-player game!
-This game established that Mario is more than just an action/adventure game character - he's something more than that!

CONS:
-This isn't really a direct flaw of the game, but when you play on a Game Boy Color/Advance/Player, the gray viruses and the gray capsules have somewhat of a different color to them - this could be confusing to new players. This is obviously due to the original game using tints rather than colors, since the original Game Boy was black and white.
-The Princess is in the instructions, but not the actual game. =(

OVERALL:
-Got a Game Boy? If you own this game, good for you. If not, what the hell are you waiting for? Dr. Mario is arguably the greatest puzzle game of all time, and not owning it is the ultimate sin! Get on eBay or your local used video games dealer, and get yourself a copy. Better yet, get two, so you and a friend can link up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Even better than Tetris!
When I first bought Dr. Mario, I thought it be just an imatation of Tetris. It sort of is, but its even more fun. You have to get rid of all the germs by lining up pills of the same color onto each other. You suceed after you get rid of all the germs. Like Tetris, you die when the pills reach the top of the screen and have no where else to go. This game never gets old because I've had it for 6 years and still play it. You can adjust the speed of the game and the music. I highly recommend it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Such a great game!
I just love Dr. Mario.I was a devoted Tetris player and saw that Dr. Mario was a similar puzzle-type game where you arrange the falling vitamin pills (speed increases just like in Tetris) in order to eradicate theblinking viruses. It's simple to learn, but the more you play, the morestrategy you learn, making better choices in the placement of the pills.Ifind it's a good game to grab when you have just a few minutes to killbecause you can play a quick one very easily. If you like Tetris, you'lllove Dr. Mario, too.

4-0 out of 5 stars So addictive you'll play until your eyes dry out!
Both my son and I enjoy this game and we watch over each other's shoulder shouting words of encouragement. You can play this game forever. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent GameBoy action.
This game was fun, but it could have been better. I'm hoping for an improved sequel.

I'll start with the good points. There are 15 levels, so it's not a game you will complete while stuck in traffic. It's in a 3D first-person perspective, none of that light-bulb's eye view of the tops of people's heads. There are four characters to choose from, choices being from high-brawn/low mana to kinda-weak/lotsa mana. Unfortunately, all four are male, which is something most of us females are already used to anyway. There are two slots for saving your game; this is like a godsend, one slot would be helpful enough but that second slot is handy when you realize you never should have pressed that button two levels ago! Your avatar is alive; you can't just bash and fireball your way through to the end, you need to make sure the avatar has enough food and water to make it. Sleep too is necessary, so remember those safe areas. The storyline is simple but fun enough to keep the gameplay exciting. The monsters are well designed, there is good variety there. There are lots of spells, but the spell preparation takes some getting used to.

On the downside, there were a couple of puzzles that did not have adequate hints (the savegame feature comes in very handy here when you realize you've opened the wrong door). There are many secret doors and hidden areas, this means after the first three levels you will have to basically walk into every blank wall you see to find these undetectable areas. It's time consuming and gets tiring fast, but worth the effort in the end. A knowledge of the game of chess is necessary later on in the game. The first time through, I played with Mr. Bulging Muscles Low IQ, and the game went along pretty well. He can pretty much carry everything he comes across, wear full plate armor and still bend over to pick up that Death Mace of Doom. When I played round two with Superwizard, I found that he can't wear light armor, carry a pouch of food and water, wield a little dagger, and still expect to pick up that scroll the giant cobra dropped. Character advancement is unimpressive; gaining a level seemed to have more to do with stumbling up a flight of stairs than with solving puzzles or exterminating monsters. Also, the character maxes out rather quickly.

There is an automap feature, which is handy when you want to see if there's enough space for the area to contain one of those secret rooms. It's too bad this automap feature is not always accurate; if you're near the bottom of a square, the surrounding areas change shape and those corridors stretch out.

This is a fun GameBoy Color game for those who like fantasy RPG, though there are many less fancy games that are at least as enjoyable.

Note: The software designers were very good about e-mailing a map and a list of hints when I got stuck on one of the levels.

4-0 out of 5 stars Been waiting for this
This style of game isn't for everyone, but it's something that I've been wanting for ages. Not just on the gameboy, but on any system.I love american style RPGS.First of all it's 3D and it's not slow - WOW.Towershas A very integrated storyline, plenty of monster bashing, and tough butnot stupid puzzles.I still can't believe this is on the Gameboy. Probably one of the best features is the two-player game using the linkcable.I had to try it out, so I picked up an extra copy.My boy and Ihave been playing ever since. In one siting, we played until my batteriesran out, around 4 hours. My only real complaint is the spell system, notthat intuitive.Once you get used to it though, it's not that bad.

IfRPGs is your game, I can't recommend Towers enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great traditional RPG w/ 2player fun to add to it.
Towers is a very complex game with lots to manage and control.Once you get used to the controls and past the first couple of levels, you find yourself hooked. The 3D makes the game eerie, and monsters catch you bysurprise.Becuse of its traditional nature, it does not spoon feed you astory. You must find the scrolls that carry pieces of information aboutwhat happened and put it together yourself in order to finish the game. There are several puzzles, including one end of game puzzle that had megoing for a while. The levels are well desinged and a map is alsosupplied, which is important. However, the best feature by far is the 2player mode. It's just that fun!Having to manuver around the dungeonwith a friend made the game that much more fun.I feel this game is a mustfor Hard Core RPG fans of the likes of Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, and ShadowKeep. ... Amazon.com Review

Just when you thought you'd played it all, along comes something truly bizarre. Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble isn't just a silly name thought up by Nintendo's central marketing--it's a title that explains how to play this game, as well as a caution against what might happen to you while playing. It's one of the most gimmicky games ever for the Game Boy, yet it works--brilliantly.

The plot has something to do with our hero, the pink puffball named Kirby, in his adventure to retrieve the stolen stars of his homeland. Like past Kirby games, there's plenty of surreal imagery that features clouds, lots of pastel colors, and plenty of cuddly bad guys.

Chances are you'll be mesmerized by Kirby's control scheme. For the most part, your tilting of the Game Boy unit determines the direction in which Kirby will roll. It's extremely simplistic yet so engrossing that even adults will risk embarrassment while shifting their entire bodies in an attempt to save Kirby from meeting his doom.

Even for a game based solely on level design, complaints here are few. Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble requires precise tilting and stable hands, so don't play it on the bus or train. It's easy to lose track of Kirby while tilting due to the Game Boy's inherent screen-glare problems, and that will cause timing problems. Those who think they're too cool for ultracute gaming should avoid this game. Everyone else, though, should get their hands on this one before it rolls away. --Mark Brooks

Pros:

  • Completely different, yet easy to play
  • Detailed, surreal graphics
  • Very addictive

Cons:

  • Touchy controls need steady hands
  • The Game Boy's inherent screen-glare problems make it easy to lose sight of Kirby

3-0 out of 5 stars I leaned the hard way
This is a really fun game, and the graphics and sound are great... only problem is that is is not GBA SP compatible (I don't know about regular GBA). It loads fine and looks good, but because it works on a motion sensor chip, and GBC cards point down, and GBA SP cards point up, up is down and down is up, and right is left and left is right. You COULD learn to compensate for this, but what a pain!

If, though, GBA regular loads cards the way GBC does, it should make a great addition to your collection. If you have GBA SP, and no GBC, I can't recommend it. Of course, you can get a GBC for $10. at GameStop, if you really want to play this particular game. It is a pretty nifty game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!
I got this game and it is GREAT! The tilt control is awesome and it is very straightforward. Ten stars!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Tilt N' Tumble - Continuous fun!
Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is now considered a bit of an "older" game now, but I decided to write this review up anyway, being the experienced gamer with this one game that I am.So, thanks for reading, and I hope this helps you.

Back when GBA came out on the market and was all the rage, I was stuck with my little, hot pink Gameboy Color when everyone else had the sleek new model.I was also a kirby fanatic, and was desperate for a Kirby game.So after some research on the internet, I finally found one - Kirby Tilt N' Tumble.I was disappointed that it wasn't being sold anymore, so finally, for Christmas 2003 my parents bought it for me from eBay, unfortunately just the cartridge and no instructions or box.

I was anxious to get playing right away that morning, so I popped it in and found it was a very easy game to learn.I already new a little about the controls, tilting to move Kirby in the desired direction, and it was nice that whenever I had to learn a new move to advance, the game would pause and teach me.Eventually, I easily learned the whole game without any instructions!

With 5 goofy yet fun mini-games to play, 8 exciting and challenging words to explore, plenty of cute and cuddly bad guys and a simple, easy-to-follow storyline, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a game that doesn't lose its fun anytime soon after buying, versus other games that lose all the fun after you've beat the game. Why, I've owned it for a year already and there's still secret words and warp stars I'm discovering all the time.

Now, there are a few cons I'll warn you about before you go out and spend your money. This isn't the game to bring on that 10-hour car trip to visit Aunt Ruth, because the constant moving in vehicles makes it hard to control Kirby. As well, it's not the kind of game where you can lay back against the pillows, stretch out your feet and sip the lemonade, either. You're always swivelling your body back and forth, side to side, and so forth when tilting your little pink puffball. Not a big deal, but its not just hitting buttons like other games.

I don't have this problem too much, since I usually play in good light, but you may have a hard time keeping an eye on Kirby when you tilt the screen forward and lose sight of him from the light glinting off the screen.Annoying, yes, but the game is still worth it, trust me.

Overall, this game is definitely worth every penny you're paying for it.As long as you don't mind things being cute and cuddly all of the time, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a great gaming experience that will last for months and months after your purchase.

1-0 out of 5 stars Does Not Work on Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo changed where cartidges get inserted with the Gameboy Advance SP. This means that the tilt sensor works backwards (but it does still work). Essentially, Kirby rolls "uphill". I suppose the game is playable if you can get used to that, but if you really like this game, you might want to keep around (or buy) an old Gameboy Color or Gameboy Advance.

The 1-Star reflects this issue with the SP, otherwise I think it's a 5-star game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kirby Tiltin' cool!
Although the tilt feature is a bit confusing at first, this game is very enjoyable. The main reason that I like this game is that you have a wide selection of levels to choose from. Not to mention there are 5 fantastic mini-games to play. The bosses in this game are easy to defeat. I recommend this game to Kirby fans and other people who like challenges. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A cute and fun game
Snoopy Tennis was put together well I think. It has a cute aspect to the game by favorite characters in the Peanuts comic strip to be in this game and you are competing against other characters too. the fun part is there too by the action of the tennis game going on and the Peanuts characters playing. characters in it are charlie Brown, Linus, Pig pen, Lucy and many others. I left my favorite one out Snoopy of course! The manufacturer Infogrames I think has made great games from this tennis game to another favorite of mine Driver.

This is the first video game to feature the Peanuts characters and it's a splendid showing.I'd give it a slightly higher 4.5if I could. The characters are detailed, instantly recognizable and have different attributes, colors are birght, there are multiple courts to play on, as well as variations on the srtaight tennis game. When you play the championship mode you play against different characters as you progress.Once you beat a new character, it will become available for play in the regular mode.So there's a collection side of things that keeps you hooked. There is also a power mode where different power ups appear durring the match.Aiming for them is quite challenging. Also you can hook up your GBC to a friends and play against each other!Always a great idea for a sports game.

My only gripes with the game are that I wish the sound was a bit crisper and that there was some character voices or something to keep things sonically fresh. All that's presented are the ball sounds, a crowd cheer and an announcer saying "out", when you hit the ball out of bounds.

The control is not only varied, but easy to learn.Young ones will have no problem learning the basics. But once those basics are mastered, you'll find you can actually control the movement of the ball in air and many other things. This is a perfect game for long trips as tennis matches are quite long and trying to aquire the extra characters will take extra endurance.Once you start, you'll have to tornnn away from your GBC!

No doubt about it, if you like tennis and/or the Peanuts, you will love this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars great fun...
i wasn't sure if i was going to get mario tennis or snoopy tennis.i went for the snoopy tennis because i am a sucker for any type of snoopy paraphenalia.i do not regret my decision at all. ST is so much fun!!!!!!!besides being extremely cute, the gameplay is very realistic and exciting.i do not regret this purchase at all, and i am usually a pretty harsh critic when it comes to game boy games. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for EVERYONE!
We purchased this game for my son on his 5th birthday and he LOVES IT! This game has 3 game levels (Rescue, Battle and Megazord), 3 difficulty levels (Easy, Normal and Hard)and 5 game stages (plant, city, dam, bay and subway). My son mastered this game in a short while, however he still enjoys playing it, as does my husband.

2-0 out of 5 stars Well, the PC version is good!
I was really excited when I heard MPA was bing released for gameboy!I love the PC version - it's the only Pinball sim I play now days. The Gameboy version... well, seems like an unfinished product. The only table worth playing is Spirit of '76... which is a saving grace since it just so happens to be my favorite table on the PC version.I no longer play the gameboy version of MPA... just sits in it's box until I decide to get rid of it.I'll stick to Kirby's Pinball or Pokemon Pinball.

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than no pinball at all
Of the several tables included on this cart., only 2 are worth playing: Spirit of 76 and Haunted House. The others are more like pachinko games than modern pinball and aren't worth the effort.

This price is right for what you get.I bought this knowing that I couldn't wait for a GBA version to be released. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!
In the early nineties, Nintendo released what was to be the latter part of a two-part series: Kid Icarus. Though the original game was on the NES, the sequel was on Nintendo's new handheld system, the Game Boy. Read on for my review.

THE GOOD:
As someone on a web site once put it, the game is like a cross between Zelda and Metroid. You play the role of a young angel whose land has been invaded by demons. THE TITLE CHARACTER'S NAME IS PIT, NOT KID ICARUS (I'm sure Captain N: The Game Master made a lot of people think differently, though.) As you progress through the game you can buy items using hearts you get from defeating enemies. Play control is vastly improved over the original, and unlike the first game, YOU CAN BACKTRACK IN THE VERTICAL STAGES! The music is also highly memorable. It's a shame this game was only a two-part series, because it sure was fun.

THE BAD:
There isn't much bad to say about this game, other than the fact that's it's dated, and a rather difficult game (it's both hard to beat, and hard to find in stores.)

OVERALL:
I DO recommend buying this game if you have a Game Boy, but be warned - IT IS NOT EASY.

5-0 out of 5 stars BUY THIS GAME!!!
I would rate this game as one of the best games ever for the Game Boy. Only slightly different from the NES version the game still manages to fill the fun factor to the top. For those who arent familiar with Kid Icarus, it is a side scrollin action adventure game where you take control of your character PIT as an angel of some kindto rid the world of an evil curse. Along your journey you must build your arsenal of weapons, tools, and other items by defeating enemies and collecting hearts to purchase these items to help you with your quest. The game is truely one of a kind and awesome for its time. The game also has the capability to draw you into the adventure and make you determined to progressfurther into the game. I give my highest recommendation to this masterpiece

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Game!
I have lots of gameboy games but this is one of my favorites. It is a platform game (which I am particually into) and not as advanced as many of the new games. Basically you are Kid Icarus and you go through various levels. You can buy things, fight monsters and look for secrets. Its a light hearted game and very fun to play! ... Read more
