Amazon.com Review

Originally released in 1981 by Konami, the Frogger arcade game isconsidered an all-time classic. Since then the property has been transferred toseveral owners, many of which tarnished the Frogger tradition. Now, backin Konami's hands, the little green fellow brings back everything people lovedabout the original arcade game, but with a modern twist.

Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog pits Frogger against the evilMr. D, who has stolen the mystical elements that nourish the hero's marsh.Frogger must make his way through 15 levels spanning six environments in orderto find the elements. After every few levels, he must engage in a boss fight.Like in the arcade original, Frogger spends most of his time hopping left, right, up, and forward, but in this version he must deal with more than movingcars and snapping crocodiles. The game's levels feature all sorts of perils, such as mazelike conveyer belts, spiked floors, and crumbling platforms. Thereare also 32 different types of enemies standing in his way. Among the fewdownsides of the game are its short length, the lack of variety-adding options, and the fact that the coin system that allows you to reach the last level iseasy to fool.

This is a great example of how to properly update a classic. The simple gameplayof the original Frogger is intact, but the developers have added cleverlevels, bright graphics, and modern game mechanics to the mix. This game is sureto please longtime Frogger fans, as well as create some new ones.--Raymond M. Padilla

Pros:

  • Easy-to-learn gameplay
  • Levels add a new twist to classic Frogger moves
  • Four in-game save slots
Cons:
  • Lack of options
  • A bit short
  • Coin system is easy to cheat

Features

  • Jump, glide and tongue-flick through 15+ levels in 5 different environments.
  • A cartoonish action/platform game with an element of puzzle solving, Frogger expands on simple, yet addictive gameplay to catch players of all ages.

1-0 out of 5 stars I HATE THIS GAME
This game is so stupid! I would leave it in the trash! Luigi's mansion is better.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVED THIS GAME SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! It is origianol, interesting and really really fun! It has 5 cute little worlds, and 15 levels. It gets really hard over time, but as soon as you get familiar with all of the controls and enimies, it isn't as hard as it seems. A little hint: On parts of the 2nd earth element level, move fast! Don't think, move fast! It helps! I finished the game in about a week, and my favorite places were the sea world and temple levels. Buy this game now, it totally rocks!

1-0 out of 5 stars PLEASE....
it sux. never get it. u just hop around getting smashed by things. i played it once and hated it. im srry for the ppl who have it!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars too easy and not original
this game is too easy and im a twelve year old, its not original and doesnt have the kind of thrill and excitement its just k nothing special,if i were u i wouldnt waste my money and would by super mario advance games instead, theyre much better

5-0 out of 5 stars The Most Fun Frogger Yet
I thought this game was very fun.The first level is easy ,but once people try the second level they think it is hard.(Most of the levels have the same type of moves so once you get the hang of it its not so hard.)the temple is the best part in my opinion. The graphics are also pretty good, and the music is great. Some people say that the game is impossible to beat, but that's not true.I've beaten the game the whole way through until the end credits.Overall I thought this game was challenging, addictive, and very fun! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very good game by Legolas.
Those negative reviews are W-R-O-N-G WRONG! This in fact is a
G-R-E-A-T G-A-M-E GREAT GAME! There 10 levels (so I read.) in this game. The best character mustbeWindu! he's NOT my favorite character but his performance is awesone! when you kill an alien-ish dude there sort of an "ugh" sound.(I think.) what stinks is that there's no save feature BUT there's dumb pass-code feature. This might something good to bring on that 5 hour trip to summer vaction :D

3-0 out of 5 stars NO CONTROL
This game is really awesome in some ways but in other it stinks. For example: The weapons, characters and moves are sweeeeet. But you can bearly see what you are doing. The lighting is AWEFUL. This game may be fun to play for about 3 days but then the problems get in the way. This game also has almost NO CONTROL. The controls stink. Do not even think about jumping because it is impossible. Most of the game is based on jumping from platform to platform. There are little guys that stand on the platform that you can not kill from you current position so you try jumping and end up beening pushed off by them. Very Frusterating. The saving on this game is also a big issue. The game gives you codes that are like 5-15 letters long so they are really hard to write down and get correct. I was almost about to beat the game but the code I wrote down was incorrect so I LOST!!!!!!! Other than all that this game is pretty decent. Do not think I am a totally killing this game I just choose to state the problems. It just was not my favorite. So enjoy this game!

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Controls
First of all, I am a huge Star Wars fan. That said... This game looks like it would be a neat game and I'm sure it would...IF the play control was decent, but it's not. This has the worst play control out of every GBA game that I've played so far.Jumping is nearly impossible to do accurately. That alone makes the game far too difficult and bothersome to play.Things happen to my character all of the time. For example: I want to jump out and to an angle to jump to another platform, but the dumb thing jumps straight up and then I fall straight down into a pit.End of Life.THQ should have spent more time making the play control better or not released it at all. This game is a real disappointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars super great
this is one of the best games i ever.thelevels are very great I can play it all day long. You shold get this game today.

One of the best side-scrolling game franchises makes a successful debuton the Game Boy Advance in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. This timearound you follow the adventures of Nathan Graves as he attempts to stop therecently resurrected Dracula. In the fine tradition of Castlevania vampirehunters, Graves carries a whip as his primary weapon, and will soon discover thetraditional secondary weapons of holy water, dagger, boomerang, time freeze, andmore. New to the series is the dual set-up system (DSS), which allows you to use20 cards (randomly found) for up to 80 power-ups.

The game plays like a side-scrolling classic without seeming too dated. Playerstraipse around a nonlinear dungeon, defeat monsters, and unlock new parts of thedungeon, often through the use of new abilities. It's similar to the excellentCastlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PlayStation, with the obviousaural limitations of a cartridge-based handheld system.

Unfortunately, the game's dark graphics are difficult to see on the Game BoyAdvance's fickle screen. Long sessions require consistent overhead lighting, sothis isn't the ideal game for travel. The animations are also lacking, makingcharacter movement appear jerky. Despite these graphics shortcomings, thisside-scrolling wonder makes a fine addition to your GBA library. --Raymond M.Padilla

Pros:

  • Classic gameplay
  • High replay value
  • Great sound for a handheld game
Cons:
  • Dark graphics are butchered by the GBA screen
  • Mediocre animation

5-0 out of 5 stars Challenging and dark Castlevania game.
This game is just plain old fun. Its very challenging, unlike most other new Castlevania games, and really gets you into the adventure.

The special items you can obtain all make the game more interesting and the magic and card system just plain rocks.
You can change your whip into fire/ice whips, get magical swords and even summon a dozen monsters to help you.
The card system is what really makes this game shine.

Pick this game up if you really want a fun and exciting dark adventure, but be warned that this game requires a bit of skill to get through as it very tough.

5-0 out of 5 stars The First GBA CV Game Remains, Arguably, Its Best
"Castlevania: Circle of the Moon" (CotM) was one of the first games to be released for the Game Boy Advance.Borrowing elements from the unexpected hit, "Symphony of the Night," K.C.E.K. (the Konami division responsible for the N64 Castlevania games) has created a familiar, yet still totally enjoyable, Castlevania game, and arguably the best of the 3 for the Gameboy Advance (the other two being "Harmony of Dissonance" and "Aria of Sorrow").

Story: Castlevania has a rich history when analyzed deeply beyond the games; though, the actual storylines in the games take a backseat to other elements.CotM sets up a plot in the beginning, has bits and pieces interspersed after major events in the game, and resolves it all in the end.The year is 1830.Rather than having Dracula resurrect naturally, a dark priestess named Carmilla resurrects him pre-maturely, and seeks the full-regeneration of the Dark Lord's powers by using the life essence of a captured vampire hunter, Morris Baldwin. His two disciples, Hugh Baldwin (the son of Morris) and Nathan Graves, are given the task of saving their master, and destroying the Count, too.You take the role of Nathan Graves, and will meet up with several characters in your adventure through the Castle. The storyline is nothing deep or engrossing, but, it's definitely far from horrible, and decently entertaining.
~ 7.0/10

Gameplay: Wonderful. It's kind of like SotN, but with a whip, though still not as silky-smooth.The controls allow you to change direction while whipping in mid-air, too.Nathan doesn't have any fancy moves like "Juste-dash" to get around faster, but you can double tap the d-pad to make him run once obtaining the specific item, and this is more than adequate.Nathan can spin his whip around when the attack button is held down to deflect projectiles and do quick damage. Also going along with SotN, you will obtain certain relics while progressing through the Castle, which help you explore new areas.Items include the "Tackle," which allows you to smash through stone blocks, and the "Roc's Feather," which lets you perform a Moon-Jump (this was introduced in SotN).CotM is also the innovator for the "Gameplay Gimmicks" in the recent Castlevania games, such as AoS's Tactical Soul system.CotM's is called the DSS, where certain enemies will drop cards (either Action or Attribute cards), twenty in all, and you can combine them to create different effects. For example, combining the Mars and Mandragora cards lets you use a huge sword that shoots out a cloud of poisonous roses for extra range, while also increasing your attack power. You can also create a small rotating set of flames around your body to ward off attacks, make your whip double its reach, and much, much more. All in all, I would say it's the smartest of any of the systems used in any Castlevania.Almost nothing is useless, and has its own advantages, unlike AoS's myriad of pointless souls, and "Lament of Innocence"'s and "Harmony of Dissonance"'s number of useless attacks.Like the other "Castleroids," you'll collect armor and accessories to equip on your character. Most of the equipment is quite useful, and almost all (except for one certain armor) are dropped by enemies to make collecting them harder and more rewarding.Healing items are rare, and there is no merchant this time around, forcing the player to rely on his/her wit and skill, rather than copious amount of potions and such, making the game a lot more challenging and, consequently, fun.
~ 9.25/10

Level Design: The best out of the three GBA titles. There is a huge emphasis on platforming in this game.Rather than making the main challenge be getting past enemies, like in games such as AoS and HoD, CotM also forces you to battle with your environment. To be sure, there are loads of tight spots, like the Machine Tower's layout, with its constantly moving platforms and electrically charged ceilings, and most noticably in the last area, the Observatory Tower (made even harder, considering the the abundance of super enemies). Most of the rooms are completely different in their layout, and this gives the game a fresh feeling throughout, since you are constantly presented with unexpected challenges. There is the occasional puzzle, such as the Underground Waterway's switches, or the box puzzles in the Underground Warehouse. It's very nice that the game makes you think beyond, "How do I kill this next enemy?", and I hope this amount of level interactivity is reproduced more often in future Castlevania games.
~ 9.5/10

Graphics: Though not as flashy and detail-filled as AoS, CotM exudes its own certain charm, reminiscent of Super Castlevania 4.Whereas HoD and AoS seemed to feel more contained and small, CotM is full of huge rooms and corridors, chock full of grand expanses of spooky skies, spires, and dark, towering pillars. While being pretty basic in terms of the "Ooh-Aah" factor, CotM has plenty of superb atmosphere that comes from its well-realized dark nature in its dark color composition and abundance of gothic architecture.Multi-scrolling in the backgrounds is minimal, and I wish the developers had spent more time on this to create more of a sense of dimension, but what is here I found to be particularly intriguing and more than adequate.Pack a GBA SP or DS, though, when you play this, as playing it on the GBA renders the graphics too dark to see.Nathan's sprite could have used more frames of animation, but his animation is decent and, for the most part, believable.I found the enemies in this game to be especially charming. You won't find multi-segmented beasts like HoD's Living Armors, or stunningly weird denizens like AoS's Stolas, but, rather, beasts that seem to be more realistic and organic, with its anthropomorphic creatures like the Were-jaguars and Fox Archers, or the humanoid bunches of armored knights.None of them will really blow you away graphically, but I found them all to be interesting and fun to see in action. They, too, though, could have stood to have more frames of animation. The special effects in CotM are nice, concerning the use of your DSS cards to create new attacks. There are all sorts of fun things, like the giant hammer, or flaming sword.Again, they all get the job done, but are nothing incredible.
~ 8.25/10

Sound: This is one of the high points of CotM.It's made all the more incredible by the fact that this was one of the first-gen games for the GBA.Quality-wise, it's on par with some of the highest quality soundtracks on the SNES; compositional-wise, it's on par with some of the highest quality soundtracks for video games, period.Rather than follow the trend of most Castlevanias and introduce totally new soundtracks, with perhaps one of two older tunes remixed, CotM opts for having a majority of its music be comprised of some of the greatest Castlevania tunes, masterfully redone, and interspersing it with a few new powerful melodies that will not soon be forgotten. The start-up screen's song is very well done, taken straight from the PC's Japan-only Dracula X.The ghostly vocals will send chills down your back. The first area's music, "Awake," is one of the most memorable and impressive songs to ever be in a Castlevania; I'd rank it among the likes of "Dracula's Castle" and "Vampire Killer."It's no wonder the music in this game is so great, as the composer of Castlevania 4, Sotaro Tojima, is the composer for this one, too.Repeat performances include "Clockwork Mansion," which has an oddly psychadelic feel to it, "The Sinking Old Sanctuary," which is more upbeat this time around, and "Aquarius," another incomparable classic of the CV series. Then, there are new ones, like, as mentioned, "Awake," along with the heart-pounding final battle theme, "Proof of Blood," and one of the greatest ending songs for a Castlevania, "Repose of Souls."As far as sound effects are concerned, they're pretty minimal.Enemies generally are totally silent, and most of the sounds you'll be hearing are the yells and grunts of Nathan as he performs certain moves.More attention should have paid in this department of the sound. However, this is overlooked quite easily, as CotM is one of the best musical experiences on the GBA, if not THE best.
~ Music: 9.5/10
~ Sound Effects: 6.5/10

Replay Value: I've played through this game three times so far.The average player will probably find enough in this game to at least come back for a second helping, eventually. There usually are rooms you might have missed your first time through that you'll find your second or third romp through. And there are additional modes, such as "Magician, Mode" (which will allow you to start the game with higher magic power, but have your other stats lowered), helping to make the experiences of playing through multiple times more varied.Sadly, there is no "Hard" mode, which would have been a truly wonderful addition. The game will probably take a person familiar with the map a little more than 6 hours to beat (while also getting 100% of the map); however, for a first-timer, it will most likely take them ten or more hours.
~ 8.75/10

Satisfaction Value: CotM is also an extremely satisfying game.It makes you feel truly good about accomplishing certain things in it, such as beating a particularly tricky boss, or finding an item in a hidden spot.Like the "Metroid" series, CotM's satisfaction comes from the journey itself and the discoveries along the way, not the conclusion of everything...and what an engrossing and memorable journey it is.
~ 9.5/10

"Circle of the Moon" is a fitting end to K.C.E.K.'s Castlevania games, and remains one of the highest points of the series.Displaying near perfect controls, difficulty progression, atmosphere, sound, and more, it's one of the best games you can get for any hand-held system, and easily holds its own in this year, and will continue to do so.Konami's people are geniuses when it comes to creating instantly classic games.

~ Total (not an average): 9.5/10

5-0 out of 5 stars hard but gets better
I reccomend this game to good thinkers and people who likestrategy games and long action-fantasy games. I first had trouble with this game but then it became easier to play though some bosses are hard.(use Holy Water when facing the IRON GOLEM)I liked the story, and its better to use a GameBoyAdvanceSPor a regular GameBoyAdvance with a light to catch the good graphics. Its very hard to get all the dss cards(unicorn and black dog are gotten in the battle arena). To defeat Draculas second formI reccomendURANUS WITH THUNDERBIRD DSS CARDS.Its a very good game, so buy it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Ack!Weak game.
This was a shock to me.For one thing, this game was raved all across the internet. For another thing, I'm familiar with the series (as far back as the first three NES games, to the SNES one, and Symphony of the Night), so I thought this would like those.Well... the gameplay mechanics are here, it seems, but everything else...

Lets figure this out piece by piece.First, the graphics were okay.Even though they're dark, and even though they're a bit lacking in animation (only THREE frame to show the main character running??!), the style was okay, and it added to the environments.

The sound was nice, and the music was great, but everything here just seemed like it could be done much better (the music sounds a bit MIDI-ish, but the melodies are good).

The controls... here's where everything really goes down hill.I'm no stranger to the Castlevania control scheme, having playing the first four games. However, for reasons I cannot fathom, this game has by far the worst control setup of all of them (which says alot, because I've replayed the first three games recently, and they haven't aged that well).First, controling your character is much like controling a big wooden stick. While the same could be said for the first four games in the series, this game takes it to far worse extremes, especially when considering the enemies move so much better (in other words, they're attacks seem more suited to a game that has you moving your character as franticly as a Mega Man X or Mega Man Zero game). Also, the option to have the whip spin by itself became rather annoying.Unlike Castlevania 4, which allowed you to move the whip around by holding the attack button down, this one only makes it spin on it's own, which is somehow amazingly counter-productive.Some of the abilities are nice (high jump, wall jump, etc...), but they don't alieviate this problem much, and actually require over-utilization in some areas (trust me, you would never survive the final battle without high jump).

Now the gameplay.I've played other games that used the "Metroid-vania" style (free exploration, found in Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow, as far as the ones I've played).Somehow, this one takes that system and just makes you lost.Seriously, this castle was not as fun to explore as all of the others. The boss battles (mostly refering to the last 4) were super cheap, requiring me to over-use the DSS system to the most extreme, which was a far cry from the more "down to earth" battles from Castlevania 4 and Aria of Sorrow.Much as I enjoy difficulty, I can't stand not being able to have a clear shot at a target with my whip due to the enemy being over-sized or too quick to dodge.

This is by far one of my most hated Castlevania games. If you even think about buying this game (since a lot of other people liked it), I recommend you find a way to rent it first.Otherwise, you may get yourself into a snag like I did.Lucky for me, this was only $15 at K-Mart, which is about as low as GBA games get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
How do you spend a good time with your GBA?By picking up Konami's "Castlevania: Circle of the Moon".This is by far the best GBA game you can buy and with good reason. The launch title for the GBA is ranked among one of the best sellers on the GBA.

It isn't hard to see why this is a loved game. From the moment you pop this into your GBA you'll be swept off your feet by its AMAZING sound and incredible gameplay that goes unmatched by any other game out there!

The game begins when three vampire hunters corner Dracula.A master, his son and an apprentice. The master becomes imprisoned by Dracula and drops The son and apprentice into the depths of the castle below. Now, playing as the apprentice, Nathan Graves, you must explore the castle and find a way to get inside Dracula's chamber and stop the rite from happening!

Most noticeable about Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is its music.Anyone who's played this game can tell you that Circle of the Moon sounds INCREDIBLE!There is no GBA game that sounds this good out there. Some of the music is actually Orchastral and for the GBA that's amazing.

The second most noticeable thing about Circle of the Moon is the gameplay.Circle of the Moon incorporates an RPG style like gameplay. You run around with a whip that you use to attack enemies. For each enemy you kill you get experience points. When you get enough you level up and your HP and MP increases.

But the gold of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is in the DSS (Duel Set-up System). This is perhaps the most innovative game idea presented in a title like this. There are twenty DSS cards in the game. Those for elements, and those for attributes.Finding all twenty isn't an easy task since the enemies drop them at random. But incorporating this system into the game is what makes it fun.You select one element and one attribute and see what happens. The DSS presents about 100 combinations and some are very worthwhile to see.

The other part of the gameplay that presents itself well is the exploration. The castle you explore is huge and well constructed. As you defeat more bosses and acquire more abilities you can explore even more of the castle.Much like the Metroid games, you'll know when you can proceed and when you can't.If you come to an area you can't get to its obviously because you do not have the correct ability.

Castlevania doesn't have bad graphics. For a GBA launch title the overall presentation is good but unless you have a GBA SP its a little dark.On a normal GBA it was so dark sometimes that I'd take damage and didn't know what was hitting me.The animation is also on the shorthand side. But that shouldn't suggest that Circle of the Moon doesn't present itself rather well.

The game is also a good challenge. It is not an easy game to get through, and newcomers to the series will have some trouble. But a good challenge is a good thing. The game is not too easy but it really isn't all that hard either. The meat of the challenge comes from the bosses and in any game that's where the challenge should come from.

Perhaps the best part about Castlevania Circle of the Moon is the replay value. Most games lack this but Circle of the Moon makes it worthwhile by providing new modes. Each time you complete the game you unlock new modes.Magician Mode, Fighter Mode and Thief Mode. Each mode has its own strenghs and weaknesses. For example, in Magician Mode you start off with all the cards and a massive amount of MP but your attack, defense and HP are severely limited. In Fighter Mode you have incredible attack, defense and HP but you don't get any DSS cards. In thief mode you have incredible luck! This makes playing through the game a second, third or fourth time a completely different experience than before.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is perhaps the best GBA game out there. With superb sound and gameplay, this is easily a treat for any gamer and Castlevania fan.It stacks up perfectly to Symphony of the Night and more over, should be the Castlevania that all future titles on the GBA should be compared to.An awesome effort by Konami.

The Good
+Great gameplay
+DSS System is the best
+Good challenge
+Visually striking
+INCREDIBLE SOUNDTRACK. Among the best the GBA has to offer
+Of good lentgh
+Lots of exploration to do
+Good storyline
+Lots of replay

The Bad
-The graphics are dark on a normal GBA

That's actually the only con that sticks out.Enjoy, as this is as good as GBA games get.

This game is one of the best ever! I think it has nothing to do with the last two movies ,only the first. I gave five stars because it is a fun game where you have to create your own Jurassic Park. The goal of the game is to make your own dino park and survive twenty years. The game is hard but really fun. It's graphics could be better, but the game is fun anyway. The excavation crew has to be sent in search of amber for DNA, which you create eggs from in the lab, 140 in all. Some DNA is rare though, such as spinosaurus and tyrannosaurus rex. Good Luck!

4-0 out of 5 stars It wasn't as good as others
nancy drew... is genius! but having the computer games was good enough. now its for gameboy and it just wasn't as exciting as a lot of the computer nancy drew games. overall i'd say, from a 13 year old, this game, buy it for your computer.

4-0 out of 5 stars COOL!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Game
My daughter who is 11yrs old never gets a chance to play on the Playstation, due to her older brother always hogging it up.So I looked into getting something for her and Nancy Drew has opened up a whole new world for her and me. It started out being her adventure and turned out to be mine as well. She loves the games and the challenges it gave her.We have done all of the Nancy Drew Series, including the new one Island of Deception.I can't wait for the next one.We highly recommend getting the whole series for any little girl looking for serious challenges.Be sure to have your pen & paper ready for clues!

5-0 out of 5 stars All PC Nancy Drew Titles
My 11yr. old and I play for hours on these Nancy Drew mystery games. They can require you to put on your thinking cap but they have sites that give helpful hints if needed. My son enjoys these games and even gets his sister (7) involved. I highly encourage any child to play and master these games. You can save at any point in the game so you can leave and come back whenever you like. They also have a very historical educational quality to them.

3-0 out of 5 stars it was good but not as good as the computer games
the games was good, but very hard to play.you had to finish a chapter before you could save and if you did anything in the chapter that was ahead of its time and quit, when you typed in the password it wouldn't be done, so you would have to do it all over again.overall it was a good game but i would reccomend playing it on the computer instead!!!!!!!!!!!! ... Amazon.com Review

Mega Man: Battle Network is not the side-scrolling game that fanshave grown up with, but rather an isometric, role-playing adventure game. Forthose cringing at this evolution, don't despair--with an amazing real-timebattle system, this game should appease even die-hard platform-shooter fans.

In the near future, the Net is connected to virtually everything--from computersto office water coolers. An evil group is bent on dominating the world bycorrupting the Net with viruses. You play as Lan, a young hacker, who must stopthis threat with the help of his virus-busting program (and best friend) MegaMan.exe.

Lan can walk up to just about any object and either use it or get someinteresting (and often funny) information about it. In fact, this kind ofexploration is necessary, because there are Net jacks in the strangestplaces--even a doghouse. And while Mega Man.exe is deployed fighting viruses on the Net,you often have to go out and collect clues in the real world. This teamwork addssome refreshing complexity to the game.

Fans of Pokémon will like the battle chip system. Finding chips andupgrading Mega Man.exe is the name of the game, enabling the program to unleashmore powerful attacks. Battle chips can be sold, traded, and combined intorarer, more powerful chips. In addition, you can link up with a friend and tradechips, or battle for them.

The game's best element, however, is its battle system. Battles occur in realtime, with fast arcade action. Mega Man.exe can lob bombs, shoot his hallmarkcannon, summon other virus-busting programs to his aid, and more--depending onwhich of the 175 battle chips you find and deploy in battle.

Mega Man: Battle Network is a solid performer, but its story is geared toa younger crowd. Still, there's plenty here to satisfy fans of the series.--Bryan Karsh

Pros:

  • Amazing real-time battle system
  • Trade chips via link cable, or fight for them against a friend's copy of thegame
  • Interactive world in which almost every object has a purpose
Cons:
  • Story line might be too childish for older players

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
Mega Man Battlew Network for the GBA is a nice game that is unlike most Mega Man games. In this Mega Man game, you fight on a grid with you on one side and the enemy on another side. On this grid, you can fire as many shots as you want and can choose a special card from a group to use. This is quite fun and most people should enjoy it. When not in battle, you can move around freely and talk to people. You can fight some of the PETs of these people. The plot is pretty basic though there is a small twist. When hooked to the net, you can get into random battles and earn money. There is also a small RPG element present. You can earn upgrades to Mega Man and improve his health, attack, etc. The only problem is that the game can become frustrating if you cannot find out where to go next.

4-0 out of 5 stars megaman rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion, megaman battle network 1 is one of the better games in the series (of course i didn't get to the end of the game but i got pretty darn far). there's many places to jack in, such as lan,s security system (shaped like a doghouse). Many tough bosses such as stoneman. any way you flip the pancake this game is awesome so might i be the first to say jack in!
Megaman,Excecute!

5-0 out of 5 stars Megaman's first rpg is......a complete success!!
The blue bomber is back in a whole new adventure on the game boy advance but this time he has broken out of his signuture side scrolling action platformer format and has taken on the card battling rpg format???? Well before you megaman fans start yelling listen and read this review to find that this is one of the blue bombers greatest adventures yet.

Gameplay 10/10
Alright the gameplay is quite strange for Megaman so listin up you switch between Lan (a human kid in the real world) and Megaman EXE (Megaman's newest form a netnavi who goes through cyber space kicking (...)) now in the real world you as Lan go through a normal life in his futuristic world where everything is run by computers but this means viruses are much more in number and can be deadly so it's up to Lan to take Megaman to the electronic device that needs viruses cleared out of it or hostile netnavis as Megaman you use battle chips (microchips that give him weapons and abilities) you can get these through a turn based system a meter fills up and when it does you pick which chip out of five that you randomly pulled (kinda like your hand in a card game) but you are not limited to pulling just one chip per turn you can also make combos by pulling more than one of the same kind of chip of by pulling two chips of the same code. A code is put on the bottom of each chip two chips that have a H code can be played in the same turn even if they aren't the same kind of chip and chips that are the same can be played together even if they are not of identical code by the way new chips (which there are 175) can be obtain from detroying viruses for example if you detroy a dash virus you may get his chip depending on what kind of busting level you get busting level is a rank system which goes from 1-10 and S and you have a better chance of getting a chip if you get a 10 rank rather than a 5 now after you have selected your chips you can fight the viruses in a 3D battle arena which is split up into 18 panels 9 blue panels and 9 red panels you stand on the blue and cannot cross on to the red and and the same applies for you foes on the red you move about dogding attacks while launching your own its strange for Megaman but it works very well aside from battling in cyberspace you will also explore and solve puzzles many of which require you to be both Lan and Megaman to solve them example in cyberspace there is alocked door but it has a passnumber it is based on how many chairs are in Lans classroom in the real world therefore you must become Lan to solve the puzzle. A way this is a rpg is that Megaman can level up but not through exp points he levels up by finding upgrade items such as HPmemories which raises your overall HP (you start with 100) and Powerups which raise your power rapid and charge up powers of your buster these upgrades can be found in various areas of cyberspace or the real world or by buying them from merchants speaking of exploring that is another great thing about this game you can explore areas of cyberspace in just about anything electronic such as vending machines, game systems, tvs, and the most expansive area the internet but you can still explore the real world and interact with the people in the various towns particapate in netbattles where Megaman fights their netnavi and trade battle chips noy to mention while exploring you can try to get all the battle chips in the game. Also old fans will reconize old bosses reborn in this game such as Bombman Iceman Elecman and Protoman.

Story 10/10
The story begins as you are put into the role of Lan a 5th grader kid who is off to school in his futuristic world that is run completly by computers because of this viruses are larger in numbers and more deadly so much so that destroying them with your netnavi example Megaman is a big course in school on the way to school Lan walks with his freind Mayl who begins to tell him of a hacking net crime organization the world 3 or WWW that is becoming more know throughout the story Lan and Megaman Battle the WWW to stop their evil plans but unlike old Megaman games you don't just pick a boss stage and go there you fight WWW as events unfold in the game.

Bottom Line 10/10
It will take you at long time to master this game trying to find all the battle chips reaching level 100 and battling WWW will keep you busy for quite awhile.

3-0 out of 5 stars A More Realistic Review
I believe for every review made by a person for another person should have an overview of the reviewers characteristic and "definition" of a good game for him/her.

I like RPG's but am good in all games. I define a good game by the right mixtures: Originality, Game Quality, Easy To Get Use to and Control, Action Type, Objective Settings, and so on. I'll make this clear and precise as possible. Please take note this is my OPINION, you might think different.

Good Things:
-The game is nice if you're bored of the same old pokemon games and their battling techniques.
-The games texture and graphics are a good improvement from other GBA games.
-The game is long and challenging.

Bad Things:
-The game can become extremely frustrating. Why? Many reasons.

1.Whenever you enter the net, you come across viruses or enemies, to make it simple. They are challenging at first, but in the later stages when you become powerful, they are just plain annoying, especially when you're trying to accomplish long, tedious missions given to you by the game. You must have an escape chip to actually escape! You can only hold 30 chips in your "moves" folder. So if you have, for example, 2, your chances of getting them and escaping battles you don't want is 2/30. You get 5 chips per turn that you skip and press ADD during your chip selection. Think about it.

2.The cost of items in this game is way too high, in my opinion. As a player in a RPG game, you would like to improve your weapons so you can defeat your enemies faster/easier right? Well, try to when it takes 10,000zens just to get one M Cannon, which does 120 damage. The common later viruses have like 200hp. The beginning bosses are about 600+. Therefore you need more than 1 powerful chip. How long would it take? Say forever?

3.Oh yeah, chip combos are made by putting same letter chips together. Example, two different chips with the letter L next to it, say Cannon Chip L and Dash Chip L. You can select it both at once and use it without the need to wait for the bar to fill up to select more chips. Its really hard to make the combos and play fast when you gotta check out the letters next to each chip to see if you can play it together. The letter range is long!

4.The missions are nice, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO GET IT! They seem to expect you to know exactly where to go. Well they don't Mr.Creator! Therefore, what you either do is get FAQS or wonder around, mindlessly and extremely frustrated, until you find where you need to go. Got Milk?

5.The only real fun is raising Megaman, upgrading him which is hell, and fighting the bosses and people with powerful P.E.Ts. Megaman is a PET. This is where it *beeped* up. Its usually rare or it takes a horribly ammount of time and work to finally encounter those few people. The rest of the game is filled with viruses that aren't challenging and you can't simply escape easily.

Here's a clue for everyone. Why buy when you can get it for free? HAHAHA.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool
As of 2002, Mega Man has been around for 15 years. Needless to say, the little guy has been quite prolific, hopping deftly from game platform to platform and bravely exploring and acquiring the skills of new genres. Aside from numerous action outings, the Blue Bomber has raced carts, played soccer, and has even entered a few fighting tournaments. After testing the waters in the Legends series, Mega Man has donned an .exe file extension and entered the Battle Network in a traditional RPG for the Game Boy Advance. Battle Network is the story of a boy and his PET. In the year 20XX, humankind has entered the "network age." To navigate this high-tech world, it has become necessary for every man, woman, and child to carry portable exploration devices known as PETs. Each PET has a personality which manifests in the form of a Net navi. These trusty digital assistants help you navigate the Net, check your e-mail, and battle against malicious code. After deleting a nasty virus from his oven, which charred his breakfast and very nearly his own mother, fifth grader Lan and his best friend/Net navi Mega Man begin to investigate the nefarious WWW organization. While Lan searches the real world for clues, he'll be able to jack in to various computers and electronic devices. In the cyberworld, Mega Man takes over the active role. As Mega Man, you'll be able to do a bit of online shopping to upgrade your battle capabilities, visit your friends' computers, and do a liberal amount of virus busting.
Whether you're controlling Mega Man or Lan, you'll be able to talk to the character you're not currently playing as for direction and support. When you're at a loss as to where to go or what to do, your partner should be able to provide at least a vague idea of what you should be doing. At certain points, you'll have to switch control back and forth to accomplish your goal. For instance, Lan may have to reboot a crashed computer to open up the way for Mega Man. The battle system of Battle Network is probably its most original and compelling feature. Unlike in a traditional RPG, skill is a primary factor here. Mega Man does gain levels by installing upgrade programs to increase hit points and attack power, but in true Mega Man tradition, quick reflexes and recognizing attack patterns can take you far. Battles take place on a 3-by-8 grid, initially split in two, dividing your area from the enemy's. You and the enemy will move and attack in real time, which results in fast-paced but strategic encounters.
In addition to his tried-and-true buster arm, Mega Man will use battle chips to aid him in battle. Each has a different range and effect. He will have a multitude of damage-dealing chips, such as spreader and longsword, as well as chips that can steal or destroy tiles, recover life, or even call in another navi for help. You initially start with five chips randomly chosen from your folder, and when the battle gauge at the top of the screen is full, you will receive more battle chips. As in a card battle game, collecting new chips and managing your folder will give you an edge in battle. Choosing chips with similar names or codes can allow you to use more than one chip at a time or perform powerful special attacks. New battle chips can be traded, rewarded for efficient deletion of enemies, or found online. The game's battle system aptly captures the essence of Mega Man, and so does the colorful visual style. The boy in blue himself has been smartly redesigned, as have other classic characters like Roll, Guts Man, and Proto Man. There are an abundance of visual and verbal references that fans will immediately pick up on, and the accompanying music matches up just as well as the visuals. Largely due to the battle system, the game is quite engaging and is in many ways unique among RPGs. If there's something that might hold you back from enjoying the game, it's the lighthearted and somewhat goofy story. However, the game doesn't take itself too seriously, so neither should you. Filling your folder with rare and powerful battle chips, battling against Net crime, and reveling in the silliness of the "network age" can make for a very worthwhile gaming experience. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This game is awful! Absolutly, positively DON'T buy it.
I own the first three Spyro games and when this one came out I coudn't wait to get it. However, I made a serios mistake. Spyro can't move very well, and you die the second you come near water, which I think is terrible seeing as this game is supposed to take place AFTER he learned to swim. This game has bad graphics, annoying speedways and Sparx levels, and can't show elevation. As a general rule, everything looks completly flat so when you go to make a glide, you find out the place you're gliding to is too high. Furthermore, enemies with missles and fireworks take about two seconds aiming at you then they just blow you up. In conclusion NEVER, EVER buy this game!

2-0 out of 5 stars Annoying!
I have all the Spyro games for PS1 & PS2, and I LOVE them, so when I got my GBA I bought Season Of Ice right away....and was very annoyed. At first I thought it would be cool, because there are fairies and mermaids, but the controls are much more difficult on the GBA than the Playstations.I have trouble getting Spyro to go the direction I want him to, especially on diagonals.I think it's because you're using directional buttons instead of a joystick.I don't think it can be the fault of the button on my individual GBA, because I bought it brand new and this is one of the first games I've played on it.Anyway, I have trouble crossing bridges and just moving around in general; it makes it incredibly obnoxious, because every time you fall in water you die.I say, if you have a Game Cube and a Game Boy Player (so you can use a joystick) this could be a great game, but if you just have a GBA, don't bother, it's more frustrating than it's worth.

2-0 out of 5 stars A frustrating let-down
OK, first of all, I have the 3 original Spyro games for Playstation, and I love them, so when I got my GBA, I immediately bought this Spyro game and the second one, Season of Fire. I haven't played the second one yet, but I'm almost afraid to, because this one was so disappointing. The graphics are great, I'll give you that, but that's about where it ends. The gameplay is horrible, like others have said. The controls seem to be opposite of what I would expect, and charging always makes my arm ache from trying to control him in tight turns. Also, the fact that you die if you put your toe in a puddle is really annoying, especially since the storyline shows that it's supposed to be after Spyro learned to swim. The most frustrating level so far for me is the hummingbird port, where you have to glide to different platforms, most of which you can't see without moving the camera to search for them, and all of them are impossible to tell which are above and which are below you. I've found that a basic rule is that if it looks higher, it's below you, and if it looks lower, then it's above you. I gave up on that level when I couldn't find any more sections to go to, and just kept going in circles. I do like the speedways, and also Sparx's worlds, but that's not quite enough to off-set the frustration from the other levels. It probably wouldn't seem so bad if I hadn't already gotten so good at the playstation versions, so if you are just looking for something to pass the time on the road or something, go ahead and buy it. But if you are looking for a Gameboy version of the original Spyro games, don't bother. Though, I'll try Season of Fire, and maybe Spyro Orange, which my stepmom owns, before giving up on GBA Spyro.
As a side-note, when are we going to get to play Bentley the Yeti? He was my favorite. I'd buy the game if he were in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spyro's the best!
[...]

This game is challenging when you first start, but when you get the hang of it, it may be easier. You start on Autumn Fairy World and, depending on how many fairies you have, you can get up to the other seasons.I'm on Winter Fairy Home, which is the second season.

This game allows you to breathe as much fire as you need, jump, fly, glide, and land.In Winter Fairy Home, there are challenging mini-games such as Hummingbird Fort.If you are a beginner, I won't suggest this game because sometimes it can be very challenging, like when you get into the Sparks World. If you've been using Game Boy Advance for a while and you get the hang of it pretty well, I suggest this game because it lets you use your skills, and it makes you think.

Overall, I think it's a really great game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Spyro
I hated this game because it was the same thing each level, find the fairies and get the jewels. The levels got very boring after a while, and I was glad when I beat the game. I don't recommend this game to anyone.I hated it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not exactly the same as.....
....running Doom on a 486DX 80Mhz 4Mb RAM 14" like I used to when I was only 22 and together with three other chaps "re-allocated" time from our engineering classes to blast each other either with pistols or rocket launchers.

Who doesn't remember endless nights in front of your PC fighting fire-launching monsters, grunts and bosses, checking your map trying to find the secret passages, desperately looking for medi-kits and ammo....ahhhh...those were great days!!

I won't lie to you, it's not the same on a GBA screen (some scenarios are way too dark) but nevertheless this has brought-up so many great memories that only listening to the score is great fun.

Long live to FPS's.

Enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars DOOM
My personal favorite game on the gba. its the original at its best, most of the levels, creatures and weapons are still hear in its choppy looking blurry glory. while the graphics may suc by todays standards its the gameplay that counts. The game dosen't stutter or slow down a bit. Blasting demons has never been so much fun. and once you beat it you can do it again and agian. If you liked doom then, you will love it now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handheld DOOM
It's DOOM only handheld so you can take it anywhere, graphics rock, sound is awesome and mulitplayer kicks ass, awesome GBA game!

3-0 out of 5 stars DOOM!!!On a handheld!??!DOOM!!!
Doom is the seventh best FPS for the GBA and the second released for the system.Doom was first released for the PC back in 1993.The game was awesome.Eight years later the game is now portable. And yes, it is still awesome.Everything from the original is here except for some minor elements that don't detract from anything.Doom is back, back with a vengeance!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great FPS Action
Think back to the early days of your computer. No Windows 95, just what most of us call today as command prompt. Back then, Command prompt was called MS-DOS, or DOS for short. When it first started you could purchase games for it like Duke Nukem 3D or DOOM. Well, that old old FPS that we all loved so much has shrunk. Now, instead of using DOS, you use GBA.

Much comperable to the old DOS version, DOOM has hit the GBA. Yes, the game still looks like the old C++ version, but that is now the lastest in handheld FPS's. With all the game still here, minus a few bosses, you have an excellent game to purchase.

Lest do some comparrisons

Then-
Your computer played MIDIs
Now-
Your GBA plays MIDIs

This makes for music that is the exact same as that of the original DOS version

Then-
You used basic controls for DOOM like your arrow keys
Now-
You use the directional pad on your GBA

This meand the controls are very used to if you used to play any old DOS FPSs.

I love this old game and I love the way it plays on the GBA, so go pick a copy of it up! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining
There are few games that can hold my attention for long. Though I agree that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for Gameboy Advance is easy, I'm inexplicably addicted to it. The puzzles are not particularly challenging, per se, but it makes you feel good when you can actually SOLVE them at all, unlike other games where you're stumped for days.

It's an easy, lighthearted game that's good for passing your time with -- and the graphics make great eyecandy too.

4-0 out of 5 stars this is a fairy well game... but ...
ok... i though that this was hard at first but... all of a sudden all you know is that you are at the very end! like it's cool...
but the grafics are ok.. and the music is normal...
all in all i give this item a 4 star cause it's ends really fast!
but i would advise it!

This is a fun casino game.It doesn't come with horse racing, as someone else already mentioned.Craps, Blackjack, and Roulette: These are the "table" games on the cartridge.I don't think these games could be any better for a portable. The graphics are pretty nice, betting is easy, and the game moves along at a nice pace.Poker and Keno:These are video games, and play fairly similar to what you find in a casino. They are a little slow, because when you win, they scroll up, and down to show you the payouts and what combination you hit.Gets a little old after a while, but you get used to it.Slots: 3 bizarre slot machines. It would have been more fun if they had gotten permission to copy double diamonds, or ballon bars from IGT or some other slot manuf.I don't like slots in a casino, so I rarely play these. They do work, and payout from time to time.Overall, I'd say this is one of the better games for the GBA.

4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Game
I just got this game to take on a long car ride with me, and it's great. It's just like playing in the real casinos, i don't know how you could have a bad review.I guess just maybe expecting they are expecting too much out of a very cheap game...

2-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better
I tried this game, and it makes the Game Gear Version look a whole lot better. In the GG version, you actually walk around the casino to the different games. You go to the ATM for money. and there is Video Horse Racing. I am glad i picked up the GG version at [the store] than wasting my money on the GBA version.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring
Games are well put together, graphics good. No complexity or motivation in game at all. No high roller level, no competition or real excitement at all. I thought that was what gambling was all about.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average Gambling Game
This game features blackjack, video poker, video keno, roulette, craps, and slots. It gives a good simulation of each of these games.I was a little disappointed that more games like paigow poker, baccarat, 5 or 7 card stud, big 6 wheel, etc. were not in this game.A lot of reviews I've read for this game claim that you can play video horse racing. This is the main reason I bought this game, but it's not an option.I emailed majesco and they replied that these reviews that list video horse racing were done when the game was in the development stage and video horse racing was pulled before the game was finalized.Aside from this disappointment for me, the games you can play are very good and realistic. There's 4 variations of video keno, video poker, and 3 variations of slots. There isn't much depth in the cartridge, just select the game you want and play.It would be nice to unlock other games video horse racing, paigow poker) if you won an X amount of money so you'd have something to play for.To continue your progress after you turn the game off, you receive a 10 character password, which some letters like b and h, and hard to tell the difference.A battery backup would have been better. If you love to gamble, pick this game up, otherwise it's not worth it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Fun But Tricky
I love Donald Duck so I had to get this game.It is very fun but I cannot stand the fire spitting pumpkins in the Haunted Mansion level.I can't get past the second level in the house.I enjoy being able to go back to easy levels so I can gain more lives because I keep dying. This a nice break from "heavier" games.

4-0 out of 5 stars PASWORDS!!!
If you are an adult with no ability in gaming or you are too desperate, it's perfect. Has paswords to end your game, and re-start it in the last level you leave it without start all over agin!!!!!. It has a very hight gaming level perfect for adults and kids 8+. This game contains extra features to game with.
I use to lend my games to friends and them kind and definitively it's the mos popular I ever bought!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not too great!!
This game was fun in the beginning but the object of this game is the same through out the whole game which gets a little boring...i recommend this game for smaller children because it isnt too hard but not for older children...i hope this review has helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Donald Duck(Its worth a buy)
I found this game truly amazing but one thing I didn't like was that there wasn't enough of bad guys to kill.Donald can jump, double jump, walk, run, attack and crawl. There are also 18 facinating levels. The point of the game is to collect 3 balls in each level, to activate Donalds friend time machine.

I do have to admit that some levels are pretty tricky but the more you'll play the level it'll be easier.

The graphics of this game are wonderfull, we would say that it's 3d.I recomand this game to anyone who likes adventure games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game... not too easy
I found this game to be quite a challenge. On each level there are 3 energy spheres that you must find to activate the teleporter and there is a given number of stars to collect. First you must find the magic book associated with each energy sphere, and when you find it a timer is activated and you have to get to the sphere before the timer runs out. Once you activate all 3 of the spheres, the teleporter is activated and you can get to the next level. The energy spheres are not hard to find and activate, however it is difficult to collect all of the stars. Collecting all of the stars is just a secondary goal which enables you to view a special photo in the gallery, but for each 100 you gain an extra life. Donald can run, jump, double jump and punch. There are enemies to defeat and collect stars from. Sometimes you need to jump off the enemies to gain height. There is a checkpoint part way through each level and a password for each level. Several levels do not have energy spheres, you must out run an enemy. I really enjoyed this game and feel it is well worth the money. (Still trying to collect all of the stars.) ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Very short, but not linear either.
My first time through it was only 3-and-a-half hours later! But to add depth, you search through a maze of rooms to find 3 missing pieces to the door. Enemies aren't smart and are quite stupid. Bosses are slow and easy to beat. I recommend something else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Monsters,Inc.
This game has no instructions in box, this is a new game factory sealed. Very unhappy with purchase.I had trust in toy's r us.
This game would have been better with the instructions that come in all new games.

4-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I bought this game for my 5 year old daughter who loved the movie. She won't play this on her gameboy at all. She plays with her sister's Nemo game. Don't waste your money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Monsters Inc
This game is great for the first few weeks but then it gets hard . It has great graphis and is just like the movie. I recamend you to buy it.

1-0 out of 5 stars This game stincks
This game is so boaring and stupid. All you do is run around and find puzzle pieces to "boos door".I gave up on it after the first level. It also takes no skill at all.If you can push buttons then you can beat the game in no time at all. Amazon.com Review

Dodge ball, the schoolyard sport in which kids bean each other withrubber balls thrown at welt-raising velocity, really is the sport of bullies.Thankfully, Super Dodge Ball Advance presents an experience in which thewelts aren't included, while lots of fun and laughs are.

The game features two teams of squat, cartoonish, big-headed kids. Some are onthe playing field and some reside in the back zone ready to scoot up a lob andnail an opponent in the back or from the side. The animations, particularly whena kid gets squashed, are amusing, and, after all, are also the point of thegame. Amass points and win the match, then move on to the next horde ofbig-headed kids.

There are several kinds of throws you can make to surprise your opponents, including a cool corkscrew throw and a straight-up overhanded bean ball. As youknock teams out (no pun intended), you advance toward the world competition(shades of South Park here), where you represent your favorite nation. You can also link up with an opponent for a little head-to-head action, which isthe best way to dish out some virtual pain onto local bullies who lack your madvideo gaming skills. --Andrew S. Pros:

  • It's virtual dodge ball! What's not to like?
  • It's one of the first sports games for the GBA
  • The graphics are perfect and the action is fast
Cons:
  • The sound is a little grating

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game
Super Dodge Ball Advanced is a great game.In my opinion, its got lots of replay value.Sure, you can beat it in a half hour or less, but its a sports game, so you can keep playing. The graphics are average, but how good graphics do you need to play a dodge ball game anyway. The music is alright, but a little repetitive. The game can be either really hard or really easy and anything in between with the five difficulty settings and other settings too such as, how tough it is to throw a super throw. You can link up, but I never have so I couldn't tell you how fun that is.To sum it up here is a list of pros and cons.
PROS-
1. Good replay value
2. Multiple diffuclty settings
3. Average graphics
4. Appropriate for all ages, but then again, what isn't
5. Its dodgeball
6. Game Link compatible
7. You can name characters and teams even not your own
CONS-
1. Repetative music
2. Unlike the NES game, there isn't a bean ball mode(mode that pits you individually against your teammates on a field)
3. Also unlike the classic, there aren't any River City Ransom Graphics, instead people don't even have noses. If you never played River City Ransom, the old dodgeball game or World Cup just forget that con
4. There is no team creator, which really, really sucks. That also ruins the whole point of versus mode too because you both have the same premade teams with just possible name differences.
5. Too short of a game, needs more teams or something.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun but shallow
This game is a blast but I must say its extremly shawdow.Fans of the old dodge ball game from an older nintendo system will probly love this game, I did but then I unlocked everything in a hour or so, sure there is more matches to play but its just a bunch of the same, I wore this game out in a day or two which is a shame because its a great game...just not enough substance.Get it if you pay $$$ or less definatly, think about it strongly otherwise.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun at first, gets old
This Game has a lot of the same characteristics of the original for the Super NES, which will make older gamers happy. But the game play doesn't change enough for my taste.Even the indroduction of new, more powerful teams didn't peak my excitement. In my view, it's worth renting, but because a good gamer could beat it in a half hour, it's not worth buying.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dont You Remember This?
Wow a handheld version of the 80's nintendo sports game Super Dodge Ball i picked this game up and had a lot of fun very similar to the original NES platform version. As far as this being set in the near future this concept isnt anything new it was a sleeper game on NES and one of my favorites. Pick this game up for a good game for any age and if your not a sports fan, well why not get this one i mean hey who didnt have fun playing dodgeball at school? *cough*billgates*cough* ...
