Features: What I liked: What I disliked. Overall, I can recommend this game only to people who purchased the previous expansion.Others should wait for a compilation.
Only downside really is the price, but I suppose that stands true across the entire industry these days. For those who can hold out a little longer, you can reasonably expect 3DO to release a 'Complete' version before Summer.Which would likely include both expansion packs and the base game for less than the two upgrades combined.Do a search here on Amazon for 'Heroes III Complete' for an example from the previous version of the title. All in all, I personally found this to be a worthwhile purchase.I am enjoying the new campaigns and the new additions, the new creatures (like Dark Paladins) are terrific and powerful, and the fan-made single scenario maps are for the most part absolutely fantastic.I hope to see 3DO include these in the future. I'm giving this 4 stars, with the only ding being on price. What you get:

Amazon.com Review The time prior to the events of Star Wars: Episode II is a chaotic one.Pressure between the Republic and Count Dooku is building, and the Count has aplan that will give him the upper hand. He's made a deal with Captain Toth ofthe Trade Federation, who intends to take over the resource-abundant Karthakksystem. He has met almost no resistance, except for the alien smuggler Nym. Aware that the Karthakk system must not fall into Dooku's hands, Mace Windudispatches his former student Adi Gallia (now a Jedi Master) to the system in anexperimental force-powered starfighter. She joins forces with Nym, and togetherthey just might have a chance at stopping Captain Toth. Jedi Starfighter has 15 story-driven levels and an in-depth tutorial. Inall, the game provides over 20 missions, mostly protecting or escorting targetsand blowing up droids and other minions of the future Empire. The action takesplace in space, as well as in the sky over various planets. You can play aseither Adi or Nym, and you can also play the entire game in two-player split-screen cooperative mode. The Xbox version has an exclusive head-to-head scenariocalled Coruscant Territory Capture--think Star Wars meets Capture theFlag. The two main ships you fly are Adi's Jedi starfighter (the same ship piloted byObi Wan in Star Wars: Episode II, Attack of the Clones) and Nym's strikebomber. Adi's ship is fast and light with four force powers (force field, forcelightening, force reflex, and force shock wave). Nym's ship has heavier armor inaddition to energy bombs, cruise missiles, proximity mines, and clustermissiles. The cockpit is set up similarly in both ships, so it's easy to switchbetween them. This game is good, but there are a few weak points. The voice dialogue, whilewell-scripted, never shuts up and may drive you batty. The AI is downright dumbearly in the game: for example, you can blast away at an enemy troop carrier, and it keeps going on its merry way until it's destroyed (the drones aresomewhat trickier, but soon become predictable). The AI does improve later on,but some may not feel challenged even then. Lastly, the button placement on thealready cumbersome Xbox controller is difficult--the zoom button is right nextto the shoot button, making it pretty much impossible to do both at the sametime. Bottom line: Star Wars Jedi Starfighter is a fun spaceshooter--especially for two-player gaming--that shows off your Xbox. --BryanKarsh Pros: Reviews (18)
P.S. When you play two player the person playing with you will side with you and also have a different craft. On some levels you can even get crafts that you couldn't get even as a bonus craft. So here's my suggestoin to you. Get your little sister or cousin to play with you and take the cool car.
The basic premise of this one is quite simple; you alternate playing the roles of Adi Gallia, a young Jedi Master and Nym, a typical gung-ho, brightly colored alien pirate, as they battle to save the republic from the looming threat of the Trade Federation. Both fly easily recognizable ships, and each come fully equipped with their own set of unique special weapons and secondary firepower. While Adi can use the force to aid her in the battle by slowing down time, reinforcing shields or striking enemy ships with force lightning, Nym's vehicle carries a heavy load of blunt firepower. Adi's ship is faster and more maneuverable, but Nym's packs a much stronger punch. The entirety of the controls themselves are very easy to learn and deceptively simple to master. It's nowhere near as complex and customizable as the keyboard-based system introduced by X-Wing and Tie Fighter, but it still accomplishes many of the same tasks without the necessity of another sixty buttons. The left analog stick controls the direction of your ship, and the right analog handles the roll, which is more of a luxury feature than anything else. In space you won't need to put this to use at all, except perhaps to dodge enemy fire, but when you're battling near the surface of a planet it's easy to get disoriented by your surroundings if everything isn't level. The left and right triggers handle the speed of your craft, with the left your brake and the right your speed boost. I miss the ability to set my thrust to 40% or 60%, or to match the speed of my target and ride his tail until he's dead, but the lack of so many confusing buttons here is a trade-off I can live with. The story, unfortunately, isn't nearly as inventive nor as easy to follow as the weapons or control systems. What story there is shoots by at such a blazing pace, it's nearly impossible to comprehend what's just happened before you're right in the thick of another fight. At one point, I didn't understand that I was dogfighting with Jango Fett himself until the second or third time he killed me. Efforts were made to tie this title in with the events going on during Episode II, but you could blink and miss the connections. Samuel L. Jackson's character, Mace Windu, is directly involved with everything you do, but it's hard to tell when that's his voice you're hearing over the comm-link, because the voice actor they cast for his role sounds NOTHING like his movie counterpart. Another thing that bothered me about the way this game played was its straightforward series of goals. While one of the coolest things about Tie Fighter was its variety, Jedi Starfighter puts you in a new location, shakes up your odds a little bit, and tells you to do one of two things; protect something or kill something. Gone are the reconnaissance missions that made the pace of the PC flight sims so strong. You'll never be asked to retreat from a battle after holding off enemy fighters long enough for backup to arrive. It's kill or be killed, every single time. While the gameplay itself is quite realistic in appearance, with tightly-rendered ships, daunting scale and believable obstacles such as asteroids and hidden enemy bases on small moons, the characters in the important scenes are flamboyantly cartoony and unrealistic. The regal, pompous air exuded by the tall, green members of the Trade Federation in Episode I is rendered null and void when they flail their arms around, swivel their hips or throw their heads around in strange ways during casual dialog. It seems like the animators grew bored with what they were being asked to render and overcompensated on the body language. The audio, to its credit, is very well done from start to finish. Though the voice acting is pretty much universally terrible, the sound effects and music more than make up for it and then some. Laser fire is easy to trace, each different ship sounds crisp and distinct, and the original John Williams score works every bit as well here as it does on screen. This is a title that had all the elements of a great game, in the same vein as its vaunted predecessors. It was overflowing with ingenuity, featuring unique new elements that made even the harshest battles exciting and entertaining, an enormous stage upon which to play, a steadily rising level of difficulty and several well-developed unlockable features. The gameplay is most certainly spot-on but the story, mood and motivations have got it all wrong. It's hard to get into a game like this, no matter how original the weaponry, if the story feels like an afterthought and each stage is just a new skin wrapped around the same old set of goals. Extra features help add a little spice to it, but on the large it's a perfect example of what could have been. I wish they'd taken another couple months on this, finished it properly and concentrated more on adding some peaks and valleys to the missions themselves.

Amazon.com Review The four main games are wonderful, involved exercises. They all involve Thomas being helpful: finding "ImportantSupplies"; locating the "Missing Mail Truck," then helping to sort its mail;rescuing stranded passengers in "All Aboard," then making sure they are properlyticketed and delivering them safely to their destinations; and rebuilding anavalanche-damaged track in "It's a Landslide!" These games are somewhatcomplex: in the landslide game, kids must switch tracks, couple Thomas with theTroublesome Trucks, haul rocks up mountains, signal Harold the Helicopter tounload the rocks, then deliver the empty trucks to James for hauling away.Thomas's water supply must be watched and replenished during this strenuouswork. And after the rocks are in place, there's still work to do! Only afterkids go to another screen to collect flatbeds and track pieces from Cranky theCrane, then deliver those parts to the mountaintop, is the job done.Phew! Also, if players abandon a game without completing it, they can't accessany of the four mini games (which are mazes and races), and Sir Topham Hatt willchide in his chipper manner: "There's still a lot of work to be done!" This isnot a CD-ROM for the lazy, and fortunately, the folks who made it didn't use anyshortcuts either. Older systems without a lot of storage space may have troubledigesting this graphics-heavy program, but for us the program chugged along likeThomas himself, and the action on the screen corresponded smoothly with whatevercontrol was being used on the playset. "Builds a work ethic" isn't one of thefeatures mentioned on the box, but this diligent program and playset could putyoungsters on the right track. (Ages 3 and older) --Anne Erickson Reviews (35)
I felt as though we'd hit the lottery or gotten over on the bookstore. This toy/pc game is so awesome. Your child will actually get to engineer Thomas all around the island of Sodor. Even my husband and I have found each other dring Thomas. The picture/vdo quality is absolutely stunning, and having a real console to drive makes this game absolutely incredible. You also get to interact with many of the other Thomas characters. This is a must by for Thomas fans or simply train lovers. Latorial Faison, Poet & Author
There is nothing I can say negative about this toy.It introduces computer skills while allowing him to play with his favorate pal.I have been able to seg-way into other computer pre-school games with a more learning emphasis, by use of this fun toy.I like to play it myself. The graphics are great. The instructions simple but the tasks are not.Your child will need help if he has no computer skills or isn't a good listner. But once he has done the task once, he be able to do it by himself again soon and with the log on screen, his adventure will be just a bit different each time. Every time a child masters a tasks he is able to print out a certificate with his name on it. Just great. Love it.The only problem I've had with my son is getting him off the game at bed time. There are tears and he says, "I miss Thomas." ... Read more

Amazon.com Review Like Pokémon Silver--which essentially is the same story, withminor gameplay variations--Pokémon Gold casts players in thefamiliar role of a young Pokémon Trainer who's out to collect as manydifferent kinds of Pokémon as possible. As in previous games, gameplayconsists mostly of exploration (completing various quests in the process) andPokémon battles, which employ a unique battle system that's like acomplex twist on rock-paper-scissors. But, despite the similarities, it's quite apparent that PokémonGold is a whole new ball game from the start. The game is played out in realtime, with the current time and day of the week (recorded by an internal clock)having a direct impact on gameplay elements, such as what Pokémon you'llfind in the wild, and when certain events occur and characters appear. While there are too many new and improved features in Pokémon Goldto list here, among the highlights are 100 new Pokémon (including two newtypes), new evolution processes (including breeding), and a more streamlinedgame interface that has better-organized menus and button shortcuts. Although it's easier to progress in Pokémon Gold than in theprevious games, the sheer amount of fun and game time that's involved isdaunting. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better value than this one. --JoeHon Pros: Reviews (142)
Nintendo's Pokemon franchise became a massive success in its native Japan relatively quickly. Although it took the franchise a little longer to catch on in America, it finally did catch on, and when it did, it took the nation by storm. Pokemon games and products sold like crazy, despite the fact that the franchise was virtually unrecognized in America at its time of release. Finally in the late summer/early fall of 2000, the second games in the series got an American release. How does Pokemon 2 measure up? Read on for my review. PROS: CONS: OVERALL:

Amazon.com Players control PaRappa by rhythmically pressing the controller's buttons to repeat bits of rap songs in theproper order. The tunes and lyrics are catchy and clever, and the gameplay is completely original. Suitablefor children and appealing to adults, this is a must-have disc for PlayStation owners who want to smile.Woven into the storyline are positive messages about self-confidence and respect. Highly skilled playerscan try their hand at free-form rapping to gain extra points. While this game has inspired sequels andcopycats, it still holds up against the test of time. --Jeff Young Pros: Features Reviews (20)
Man oh man is Parappa a cool game. I remember seeing commercials of this and being hooked on the spot. This could very well be the first music-type game released, and what a first game of its genre it is. There's nothing to hate here. The character designs are plain but original. Especially Joe Chin. Parappa's gameplay is simple enough- you hit the buttons corresponding to the top of the screen: the buttons appear and you have to get the timing as to when to hit them to match lyrics. That's all there is to it really. But it gets much harder as you play along. Heck, the second level gives some people trouble even. The only real strategy for getting through the game is to tap your foot along with the music. That should make it easier on you. Some people here have complained about "dumb graphics and story"...like either one of those matters. What matters is if a game is fun, and Parappa is definately fun. I don't know anyone that got sick of this even after playing through 5 times in one day. Actually, if you play the game via PS2 and set the graphics to "smooth", it looks a lot better, and there aren't any "jaggies" on the character designs. Parappa also has one of the coolest soundtracks I've heard in a game. The songs'll get stuck in your head for days after playing through. Even the music between levels during the plot bits is catchy. So give Parappa a chance to get a break from your silly rpgs where you just "care about the story". And pick up the game when you see it- as I think it's out of print. Just look at those insane used & new prices.

In multiplayer mode, you'll command Yuri's devastating army using devious weapons based on forbidden technologies: psychic thought, genetics, and cloning. With 10 new cooperative missions, gamers have more interesting options than just fighting head-to-head. An improved multiplayer and tournament interface will make it easier than ever to find opponents and allies. Both the Allied and Soviet armies get new, powerful weapons. Amazon.com Review Game modes include practice, single play, tournament, time trials, and versus.Tournament mode is the bulk of the game. Players can beat it in fewer than threehours and it isn't particularly difficult. Replay value is added by requiringyou to beat the tournament mode several times so you can unlock all the game'ssecrets. Oddly enough, the game's sound--usually LucasArts's forte--is hamperedby an unusual effect: at times you'll hear the full Star Wars treatment,as John Williams's score and cool sound effects totally capture the feel of themovies, but other times you'll hear only the sound of your engine. Theenvironmental audio is an interesting choice that wasn't executed very well.Audio and brevity issues aside, this game is one of the strongest StarWars titles released for a console. --Raymond M. Amazon.com Review The game itself is awash in small details, crammed into a confined space. Thecity of Yokusuka circa 1986 is rendered beautifully in a short series ofneighborhoods that are long on detail even if short on variety. The story itselfis ripped straight from a chopsocky flick: you portray the young hero RyoHazuki, whose father (a kung fu sensei, naturally) is killed before hisvery eyes by a mysterious and frightening villain. Ryo must uncover the identityof the killer and fight his way through the city in an effort to avenge thiswrongful death. Shenmue's Yokusuka might be short on space--in total, it represents maybea square mile--but the detail is overwhelming. You can interact with nearlyevery person or object that you see; 300 citizens go about their daily routines, and whom you encounter is as much determined by where you are as when you arethere. Much of this interaction involves combat that ranges fromDragon's Lair-style reaction tests (such as timing a button press tododge an oncoming car) to freeform kung fu fighting. Further, each second ofreal time equals about a minute of game time, and Ryo has to be home by 11 p.m.each evening. The game moves at a brisk pace, and each challenge or battle feelslike a race against time. Some might say that gaming doesn't get shallower thanthis (you are essentially performing tasks and exploring, instead of gaming),but the game feels like no other and is ultimately satisfying by the time thatit all ends. In this way, Shenmue is more than a game--it's an eventthat's worth experiencing. --Andrew S. Bub Pros: Reviews (300)

Amazon.com Review The game follows the adventures of Gordon Freeman, a young research associate atthe Black Mesa Federal Research Facility. A typical day at the office goescompletely awry as numerous alien life forms invade the facility. The fate ofthe facility, and quite possibly the world, is in the hands of an unlikely hero. The graphics here trump the original's (understandable, as more than three yearshave passed). The character models have four times as many polygons, as well assmoother textures and animations. The sound is also very good, with some of thefunniest voice acting yet heard in a game. Of course, the single-player gameplayis excellent, thanks to some very well-developed enemy artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, the new modes aren't nearly as brilliant. Decay, the newcooperative mode, seems like an afterthought and pales in comparison to thecooperative modes in Perfect Dark and Halo. Deathmatches onlysupport two players, which is incredibly lame considering many PS2 first-personshooters support four. Despite these flawed modes, the single-player story is sosuperb that it totally warrants a purchase. --Raymond M. Padilla Pros: Reviews (78)
+The most creative and best storyline i have ever seen. The leve designs are amazing, and the story is ingenius, you will never find a game as great as this one in year. The level designs for examples, have many obstacles like "hmmm, what do i do now, how would i pass this without getting killed.." and many booby-traps i must add. (the booby traps are very surprising and frightening, ex. your walking in a room and suddenly the lights turn off, and you passout, and finding yourself after dumped in a garbage dump which is about to crush you) note: read the other reviews to see a brief summary of the plot. +A exceptionally hard game! I played on the PC version (i find using the mouse easier) and I put on Easy Mode, and i thought, w/e it will be a piece of cake. well, as you go farthur, there will be more enemies, alien, or human. If your looking for a challenge, here it is! (although maybe they made it easier on the PS2 version) Things that you must consider: +THIS GAME IS about 6 years old! (1998) So don't expect shiny new graphics like Halo or Max Payne. In my opinion, a game is not great/fun by the looks of the cover, graphics, and how many weapons you have, a game is fun because of a great story and gameplay! (like the old mario games, its fun, but old.) Don't expect fancy animations, or anything, although i must add that the sound (not soundtrack) in this game is good. Ive heard that this game influenced many of the *new shiny games with intense graphics* out there today. If you want to try it out, you can rent it first, but you definetely won't beat it before the due date :) ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description With more gameplay options, items, and events than ever before, you play as a boy or a girl--each with individual strengths and weaknesses--and get to select from a wide range of pets that also have unique characteristics and abilities. As you fight to save the farm, you'll embark on new quests, enjoy more shops, and play exciting minigames, including snowboarding! As with other Harvest Moontitles, you can choose to get married, and, as always, work the soil to make your dreams come true! Reviews (40)
Graphics (4/5) If you have played HM2, you'll notice a similarity in the graphics. They are still the same, with small details within the weeds, stones, etc. A good option for this game is that you can choose the farmer's clothes... suiting to your liking of the graphics. I find this system really neat! Overall, the graphics are the standard ones, but I love changing the colors of the outfits! Controls: (4/5)- Alright, since this is a GBC game, the controls are simple simple simple. Hold B to run, and A to use tools. Its that easy to control your farmer! The only thing is that choosing the tools involves pressing select, then pressing A, then pressing select over the tool you want, then pressing B, and press select to close the menu. Also, you have to hold B and a direction to run, which gets your finger hurting and can damage your GBC/GBA in minutes. Gameplay (5/5) I find the gameplay in this game just terrific! Farming may not sound so great, right? But it is amazingly addicting! Also, this game has a big change from the other gameboy games. To start, you can get married to your partner who you were trying to help out. Also, there is a totally different island to go on that is for shopping, watching movies, etc. There are a number of cutscenes, and I like the fact that they mean something- rather than just to have fun. Crops are another feature that differs from the other games. In HM3GBC , you have a shovel in which you can dig a pond and spring up. You can use this shovel to make waterways in your fields so you can plant the one of a kind crop- rice. Now animals take the spotlight. A new animal is avalible in this game- a horse. But not just one, but eight of them you can own. This game also offers a unique breeding system. Instead of a miracle potion, you have to put two opposing gendered animals in this corner of your barn. Basically, breeding is free and efficiant to raising a successful farm. Finally, instead of slowly upgrading your house and starting with furniture, it is the other way around. You buy furniture for a huge house... but at a costly price. In this game, you gotta work hard to succeed, or else you will fail. Replayability- (3/5) Most Harvest Moon games have great replay value. However, this game wouldnt have what I consider "hours of replay". There are tons of upgrades for your house and everything, but once you get all of the upgrades, the idea of farming is useless. What does the money go to? Buying seeds. Where do the seeds go? In the bin to make a profit. When you have everything, though, what is the use of a profit. Overall-(4/5) Overall this game is worth every penny. With over 50 new features, this game is a total blast. I would highly recommend this for long car trips, as the gameplay lasts for 30+ hours. If you ever see this game on amazon or at another retailor, pick it up. This game is VERY VERY rare and hard to find nowadays, as very few copies were made. For those of you who haven't played the series, and are looking for a challenge, get this game for sure!
This game is fantastic and blows away the other two. You now can raise 32 animals at a time. 8 cows, 8 horses, 8 chickes, and 8 sheep. If you are the girl your job is to do the animals while the boy works, or, if your the boy, you till the soil while the girl does the animal stuff. You can also do some minigames and build relationships with people in town. There are problems with this game. The major one is that you need to build up your relationship with the girl or the boy(depending on the one you are) to have them do work. I'm the boy right now and the girl doesn't do much unless you give her items that you harvest. Once you do give more she will become much better but at first she is rather useless. I tried the girl and the same thing happens. The boy is too lazy to clear the field. He removes basically a rock and gives up. In time he gets better but it takes exactly that, time. This is a good game. It gets fun and you have plenty of years to accomplish your goals. 5 stars!

Amazon.com Review Seriously, though, Persona 2 is an interesting title. It is the sequel toa popular import with a story that is, for the most part, involving. Even intheir small sprite form, the anime characters in the game are very well done andblend nicely with the gaming environments. The character movements are a bitjerky, but it's still better than most role-playing games. Unfortunately, the game's slow-moving story line and somewhat tedious characterinteraction ruin the game's early momentum. Things get back on track later inthe game--but obviously only for those gamers who have stayed on through the dryspots. Patient players are rewarded with 80 different persona summons, orspells, that can be unlocked throughout the game. You can also chat with themonsters, which is fun at first but grows tiresome. Also, the game'sstraightforward battle system lacks the strategic elements found in other gamesof this genre. Perhaps Persona 2's most interesting gameplay element is the rumorsystem, which allows you to gossip about other characters in the game. Aproperly spread rumor can trigger in-game events and create whole new storyarcs. This adds considerable replay value and most RPGers should appreciate thisto no end. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Features Reviews (21)
Everything was going great for Maya Amano, an up and coming reporter for a teen magazine, until she meets Tatsuya Suou... Players have to follow a series of rumors to find out the truth and gain new allies to help combat the growing Joker menace. There are side quests to do, and as the plot deepens so does the stories around each ally where surprises and hidden pasts are revealed. The animation sequences are beautifully rendered and add to the flow of the game. ... Read more

On the plus side, the storyline is very Buffy-esque and the dialogue in the comic book style cutscenes fits the characters perfectly. Therefore, playing through the game and watching the story unfold is sort of like seeing an episode of the show play out..albeit through poorly drawn comic book pages. Unfortunately, the game itself is quite bad. The backgrounds are about par for Gameboy, but the character graphics are rather blocky. The gameplay is repetitive and mind-numbingly simple. Here's how things play out: You walk a bit on the screen. A vampire shows up. You trip and/or hit said vampire so he/she falls down. Walk over to the vampire on the ground and stake him/her. Repeat one or two dozen times. Go to the next level. Start the process over again. Some vampires are a little more powerful or difficult, but the technique basically remains the same. The first (and only) time I played the game, I beat it without dying once. I think it took less than an hour. Like I said, Buffy fans might still enjoy reading through the storyline, but don't expect much (if anything) from the gameplay, which offers maybe a few minutes of mindless fun before becoming tedious. I'd recommend a rental at most since, in all likelihood, it'll last about an hour and you'll never play it again.
The controls were kind of difficult, but as the game went along, you got used to it. You would have to get the vampire on the ground, kneel down, and then stake him. But you have to be at a certain point near them to where you can stake them. I found it easy to get them cornered in one side of the screen, then take them down and stake them. The graphics are what you would expect from Gameboy Color. Nothing extravagant. The backgrounds are pretty nice though, and it was great to see the Hyena exhibit -- complete with red glowing eyes -- in the Sunnydale Zoo.The storyline is this: Ethan Rayne (A well-known villain in Sunnydale) has returned to Sunnydale to retrieve The Book of Ancients. A very powerful book that will be used -- by Ethan -- to open the Hellmouth. The book is only known by vampire covens from around the world (Which explains the differently dressed vampires) which must be present at the opening of the Hellmouth. The characters from Buffy in the game were Buffy (of course), Giles, Willow, Xander, and Anya. Although the Initiative is one of the levels, Riley was nowhere to be seen. There are also guest appearances by Cordelia and Angel. All in all, the game could've been more difficult and took me longer to play. But you do get hooked on trying to kill the Ninja Vamps...or the European Top Hat Vamps...or the Egyptian Lady Vamps...or the... ... Read more
