4-0 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet
Star Wars Episode 3 may dissapoint some hardcore gamers, but for fans of Star Wars, it will no doubt entertain.

The RotS game is a very fun play. It has a somewhat deep combat system (not as deep as the Lord of the Rings games)The actuall combat moves arent mapped out like in the lord of the rings games, but different combos of buttons will produce different moves.

RotS is a good looking game. Some elements arent particularly great, but it still looks good. The lightsaber animations are phenominal, although the majority of animations arent so hot. The character models are good, the enviroments are ok, some blanness shows here and there, and if there is a big explosion the framerate drops a tad.

Now, while it is a good, even above average, game, I have to say it is one of the shortest games I have ever played. On the hardest difficulty, you can beat it in 5 - 6 hours. The levels were probably drug out as much as possible, but they could have added a space fight level, like in the begining of the movie, or levels that dont revolve around just Anakin and Obi-Wan. Like maybe some clone vs. battledroid levels where you play as Mace Windu, or a level where you play as Yoda and you fight Emporer Palpatine. Additions like this would have added serious time to the game, and a bigger fun factor.

While the games combat has different fight combos, it isnt forced enough. You can get through the game by hack-n-slashing.

Overall, if you are a fan of the movie, you will undoubtably love this great addition.

Concept- Make the ultimate Jedi simulator

Presintation- 8.3- The box art is good, the menues are nice and polished, and there is scenes from the movie woven into the game.

Graphics- 8.0- Overall, very nice. Some good lightsaber animations and some good enviroments, but mostly everything is good to par.

Sound- 9.0- Star Wars games always sound good. My only problem with the sound is almost all the voiceovers during gameplay are almost as bad as in the movie.

Gameplay- 8.1- Combat is fun, could have been deeper, and the force powers are used well. The levels are particularly done well, but are ok. The camera has some problems too.

Playability- 8.4- you can get through the game hack-n-slashing. But it still is good.

Overall- 8.0 - Good game, could have been better (like most Star Wars games) Star Wars fan boys will love it.

Replay Value- 8.5- You probably wont play the single player campaign much after you beat it, but there are so many unlockable levls (including one great level where you play as Yoda) Two player duels with unlockable characters and arenas (including darth vader and ben kenobi in the original Death Star)

5-0 out of 5 stars "yah its pretty sweet its .........................AWSOME!!"
THIS GAME IS PRETTY SWEET, IT HAS SWEET JEDI COMBOSAND STUNNING KILLS. IT HAS A GOOD STORY PLAY AND THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT. THE MULTIPLAYER IS AWSOME BECUASE YOU HAVE SO MANY CHARACTERS AND LEVELS. IN CO-OP YOU HAVE LIKE FIVE LEVELS TO PLAY WHICH ISALL RIGHT. THE BONUS LEVELS ARE SWEET BECUASE IN ONE OF THEM YOU COULD PLAY YODA WHICH YOU CAN PULL OFF SOME SWEET MOVES. THIS GAME IS GREAT AND II SUGGEST YOU GET IT.

P.S. "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool, but no KOTOR.....
This is a really cool game, graphics and all. But, I was expecting it to be a Knights of the Old Republic game--more RPG than an arcade/action type game. So, if your expecting KOTOR #3, forget it. So, as a stand alone Star Wars game, I give it 4 stars. But, because I expected it to actually be KOTOR #3 when I bought it, really overall I'd give it 3 stars.

3-0 out of 5 stars What have I done?!
OMG!!!This game is way worse then the movie.I mean the deaths aren't even the same! And the actors don't do the voices! The only 3 good things about this are:graphics, action, new ending.Nuf said!

4-0 out of 5 stars you'd think battling the sith would be tougher!
Star wars episode 3 is a decent game with exceptional graphics, plenty of fighting and a variety of wonderful unlockables, yet the easy gameplay leaves you wanting more. Even at hard mode this game is incredibly easy to beat. It is also pretty short and next time I hope lucasarts produces a challenging jedi game allowing you to play through all 6 episodes. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars They still have the nerve to charge $50???
Look, San Andreas is a great game, no question. If you get any GTA game, get this one - it's truly HUGE and it truly has it all - "it" being your basic carjackings, your hood tagging, your drive-bys, your pimping, your stealth B&E missions, basically every form of sociopathy known to man - in its best incarnation yet.

The problem is that RockStar is still trying to wring $50 out of this re-release on a dying platform, this late in the game.I mean, are you serious.I have this title on PS2, and I WOULD get it for XBox too just cuz I know the graphics probably knock it out of the park - but come on.Wasn't even the GTA3/Vice City double pack like $30 when it first came out?

So, screw it.I'll stick with my low-res, high-loading-time, feature-poor PS2 version till they come out with their next-gen installment.

5-0 out of 5 stars So much to do, so much time.
GTA San Andreas is a big improvement over the past GTA games in the series! There are just so many things to do. My personal favorite is the co-op mode. I also like customizing my ride, doing drive-bys (in cars and helicopters), jumping off of a building and parachuting, plus the simple goodness of shooting the hell outta whoever you want. Also the Xbox version has smoother graphics than the PS2 version and you can add your own custom soundtracks to the game. Overall, the Xbox Version of GTA San Andreas is much better than ANY other game of the GTA series, even the PS2 version of San Andreas. Buy NOW! (P.S. I'm not a kid, I just lost my password.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Creeper/ Reaffirms my love for video games
Before I got this game I was racing RallisportS 2 and Project Gotham 2.So I rented this game having heard it was great and I popped it in and I wanted to go get my 7$ back from the video store. But I was stuck with it so I figured I'd see what it is all about.

All of sudden when I started winning a couple races and getting a little acclamated to great vast world this games offers, I was hooked.Hooked real hard.3 days later I played for abot 18 hours straight.

A few things I love about this game

    1. Stunningly beautiful. While driving I just reaffirm to myself how beautiful this game is visually
    2. Realistic Car Damage. If you ram into another car to try to knock it off the road so you can pass it, you end up messing your car up so bad that you'll get passed and lose.
3.If you screw up on a turn, you're going to wreck.None of this pull the E-brake junk on this game, you're going into a wall or spinning off into a feild.

Just some things I was thinking about. If you haven't tried this game, do so immediately, and make sure you play it for about 2 hours. That's when I couldn't put it down. It's kind of intimidating at first, but that passes very quickly.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks !!!
Forza motorsport is the best racing game i have ever played. It blows away GT4 by far. The damage is very realistic unlike another certain racing game (lol).and the cars are just as cool. I definetly recomend this game for all you XBOX users. It will not disapoint. In conclusion if you have an XBOX get this one it rules.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Racing Game
I recently got myself an XBox and was advised to rent and try before I buy. Blockbuster was out of Halo2 so I got this one home to try it out (I am a big fan of racing).

Before I say anything further I'd have to mention that this is my very first game on XBox so I cannot compare it to any other games.

Was I glad I rented it? Yes, Will I buy it? Yes.

It's a little pricey at $40+ when compared to other games but then again it has a great game in it.

As for the game itself it has a whole bunch of race tracks and customizable cars (categorized into Classes from R to D) with time trials, free runs and ofcourse the race arcades themselves.

I'd suggest spending $7 and renting it before paying $40+ for your own copy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars most fun in a starwars game till its sequel
i cant posibly think anyone would hate this game if they played it. It is most fun/funny starwars game yet. a perfect 10. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is not just a kids game! You will LOVE this game!
This game is fun for the whole family.I figured at first that my little boy would be the only one to really play this game.My husband and I both thought it would be fun but we did'nt realize just how much fun until we are now hooked to playing it!!!The sounds of the light sabers are just like the real movie and the people all look just like real legos! The game is'nt very difficult but it holds your interest. There is over 30+ playable charaters to use.The game combines all 3 of the first movies in to one full game.I really like that about it, its like having 3 different games but for one price. There is tons of hidden things to find in this game.I highly recommend it for kids and adults!

5-0 out of 5 stars My sons 6-11 love it
I haven't played the game, but I got it for my Star Wars fan son when it first came out. All of my sons like this game and keep returning to it. They are figuring out how to unlock the 4th episode level. If you have a young one and they like Legos and Star Wars, I guess you have a winner here.

5-0 out of 5 stars May the fun be with you
Lego Star Wars is the greatest Star Wars game on earth. When you destroy something or someone it shatters into a buch of lego pieces. Star Wars+Lego=Fun. And its not only for kids. Many adults enjoy playing Lego Star Wars. The game is extremly fun. You can use the force to throw yor enemies or you can take your light saber out and chop em into lego peices. Or you can blast them with your pistol if you are Padme.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beware the Inch-High Jedi
This is probably the best Stars Wars game made.As far as i'm concerened, any Stars WArs game where you get to use a lightsaber is the best (there are enough games with blasters). When you turn on the game you start out in Dexters Diner, a place where you chose your level and buy characters. You get to play through episodes 1,2 and 3.
WHats good is that if you haven't seen episode 3, the game doesn't spoil that much, it gives you enouggh info so that you know what you're doing in the game, but not enough to spoil the movie. While you are travelling through the star wars universes, you collect LEGO studs, the currency of the game.At dexters diner, you can buy characters with them.YOu can also buy hints and extras, but I think they are a waste of studs. After you collected enough characters from the light side and dark side, you can go out to ddexters parking lot to wacth and join unorganized fights. They are a little easy but fun. When you collect suds you're jedi meter fills up and if you fill it up to the top you will get a piece of a special ship.TO complete fill the jedi meter in every level. You also collectt mini kit parts which you can use to make ships to put in the parking lot.If you get every ship you will unlock the games ultimate secret (sorry i don't know what it is).A good way to collect studs is to get all the mini kit pieces in a level, which will give you about 50,000 studs.Try to complete the ones in boss levels because they are small levels and pieces are easy to find.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game but just more of the same.........
If you played the first two games in this series you'll be right at home. You're able to run and gun more than in the past and it's nice not to be punished as much for setting off alarms. The controls, graphics (unfortunately you're usually in the dark), and sound are top notch.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Best X-Box Game 9.9/10
X-Box Magazine rated this game 9.9/10 and it should have been rated as 15/10 (fifteen!).It kicks!Best features: you can save your progress at any time; you can save as quick save OR as save so you can back up to a prior save in case you blow it.Great ammo.Great storyline (I won't spoil it).Plus the online X-Box Live games rock!I just finished this game and am in mourning, waiting for Chaos Theory II...or whatever the next Splinter Cell is...They really outdid themselves.PLEASE!Publish the sequel!

5-0 out of 5 stars AN EVOLUTION IN STEALTH GAMING
This is by far one of my most favorite games right now. I don't really have the money to buy it but I've been renting it from the movie store, and I can't put it down. This is one of the most addicting games I've ever played. There is nothing better than sneeking behind a guy so close you can read the label on his coat and then stabbing your knife into his back and dropping him without a sound, or ripping your hand through a paper thin canvis and pulling a guy through it. This game has more ways to take out your enemies than the first two. Such as now being able to choose between lethal attacks when your near an enemy or just knocking them out. One lethal move is when you approach an enemy from the front, Fisher pulls out his knife and grabs the guy head and forces it down while stabbing him below the shoulder blade all by pulling the right trigger. Or if you pull the left trigger and your behind someone then Fisher will pull out his knife and hit them with the handle in the side of the head and knock them out. There are countless other things fisher can do to take out his enemies. The enemy AI is amazingly done, they will notice little things like a door open or a light turned off. My complaints are that the maps are horrible, they provide almost no help. Also some of the missions have some really hard puzzles to solve, for those reasons I would give it four and a half stars but I'll settle for five.

    5-0 out of 5 stars It Rocks In HD ! ! !
I PUT THE GAME ON MY HDTV :)
    & IT LOOKS SOOOO GOOD!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars You can SAVE your progress at ANY time!
I never got in to the first two Splinter Cell games, so you don't have to be a veteran of the series to enjoy this third installment. I'll start with my 2 favorite things about this game. In Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, you can pause the game at ANY moment while playing and save your progress EXACTLY where you're standing. When you load your game from a saved file, you start exactly at the spot where you saved, NOT way back at the beginning of the level, NOT at some prior checkpoint, but right where you were at that moment you saved your game. When you know you're about to walk into a tricky situation, take a moment to save, then proceeed. If you botch the job, re-load your saved game and try again from the exact point you saved at without having to restart the whole level all over again. I LOVE THIS! EVERY game should have this "instant save anytime" feature! The other great thing about this game that EVERY game should have is 360-degree camera control: you use the controller's right thumbstick to move the camera anywhere you want to get the view you need of your environment. Snapshot saving and total camera control make SUCH a BIG difference in eliminating the frustration that comes with so many other games.

This is a game about espionage set in the fictitious near future. You play a stealthy field operative for a top secret arm of the U. S. government, running covert operations that the government cannot legally acknowledge. Each mission consists of a set of objectives like "find out who is providing arms to these rebel guerillas" or "hack these systems and plant some decoy files."You gather information by observing the environment, eavesdropping on conversations, interrogating people, searching file cabinets, and accessing computer terminals. You spend most of your time sticking to the shadows to stay out-of-sight and keeping silent to avoid detection.

You must complete your primary objectives to progress to the next mission. You are scored a success percentage at the end of every mission, but score doesn't count for anything except personal satisfaction. You achieve high scores by not alerting anyone to your presence and not killing anyone, rendering enemies unconscious in a variety of ways (except when your objective is to eliminate a particular target). When you see people in your path, you can either find a way to sneak around them or you can sneak up and grab them from behind to interrogate them, then choke them unconscious to remove them as threats (be sure to hide the bodies so others don't notice your handiwork). Stealth and low body-counts are encouraged, but you can still progress through the game if you don't score highly on your stealth tactics. You can tear through the game with guns blazing killing everyone if you want (except for the missions where your objective is to NOT kill anyone). But I get a kick out of sneaking aboard an ocean freighter, creeping unnoticed through over 30 armed guards, planting tracking devices on crates of illegal weapons, and escaping without anyone having a clue that I was ever there.

This is definitely NOT a fast-paced action game. It's methodical and quiet, requiring patience and a little planning. It doesn't require lightning-fast reflexes. It's not insanely difficult, but it's a good challenge. The graphics and sound are very good (but the music is funky). The controls are easy to get the hang of. You can access an in-game map of your terrain from the pause menu (another feature that EVERY game should have), which helps to keep on track and avoid getting lost. The game has somewhat of a realistic feel to it, so don't count on arcade-like fantasy stuff like being able to double-jump 3 stories into the air or pick up power-ups that make you invincible for a short time. The story is engaging, and you're equipped with some pretty cool spy gadgets. This is a very well-put-together game. It feels a bit like watching a "Mission Impossible" type of spy movie. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game, Awesome Sequel
First of all, I'm not 13, so don't expect a illiterate review. But on to the game! This game is very good in many areas, but it does have its share of flaws. I love the story line on this game, because you can choose to become a powerful Jedi or a fearsome Sith, which in turn makes the replay value high because you'll want to beat it twice to see both outcomes. Also, the weapons in this game rock. You can wield anything from plasma torches and lasers to mines and lightsabers. The color of your lightsaber, as the Star Wars junkies like me reading this know, depends on which side of the force you choose. Give in to the Sith(which is what I did) and you'll get a flashy red lightsaber. Become a Jedi and you'll wield a nice blue one. Either way you choose, the story line and action is great.
Now every good game has its share of flaws, and this game is included in that category. First, the main flaw for me is the fighting. This may not bug everybody, but it does me. You actually tell the command to go into combat mode and then it fights and swings swords for you. For me, killing and destroying things is the whole purpose of fighting/RPG games. It's not that big of a deal, but it does bug me. The next flaw is the camera. I'm probably being picky on this, but when you round a, say right corner, usually you tilt the right thumbstick right. But it's the exact opposite with this one. You have to either press it left or go all the way around your character. This can be very annoying, especially if you've got a droid on your tail. Finally, the last flaw is the graphics. The characters faces and body types look good, but man the backdrops and items look terrible. As wierd as it seems, I've come to rely on Star Wars for pretty decent graphics, but it seems here they focused all on the characters and none of the surroundings. But this doesn't really take away from the game, so it may or may not bother you. It did personallybother me, considering the Xbox's standards.
Minor Quibbles aside, this is destined to become one of the greatest RPG's ever. I've never played the original KOTOR, but I've heard it's great. Even if it's half as good as this, it will be awesome. Great job guys and all we can hope for is Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic III. Hope this helped!

3-0 out of 5 stars What Happened?
I have been a big fan of KOTOR games ever since the first one came out.In the first game Bioware did awsome. They came up with something new and brilliant. With KOTOR 2 i felt that that imagination was lost.this could have been due to the fact that Obsidian made this one one.THe second game was a fun game to play through twice.Which of course it what you should always do play as a good guy then as a bad guy.But after that it just lost of of its replayability. The first made me want to play the game over and over. But with this one it lost that aspect. The main problem wiht this game is that it feels sloppy.THere is so much going on that at times it is hard to keep everything straight. The first one had a great structure. It was an open ended game but it did a good job of guiding you throught the storyline. This one doesn't do that for you at all.And the sloppiness doesn't just stop at the gameplay it continues into the weapons upgrades. This was a great idea but just seemed half baked to me.Even though this game has its problems it is still a great game. The characters in this game are great to be around during the game. You can even train some of them to become jedi themselves.I enjoyed this game but was also dissapointed at the lack of the greatness that the first one held.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of The Best Games of 2004
This game is a huge improvement over KOTOR.

Pros: Better facial expressions, you start out in the story as a dispanded Jedi, you can pick three classes; Sentinel, Councal Member, or Knight, you can choose area of specialty; Force, Weapons, or Master, More force powers, Really high replay value

Cons: Really their isn't really anything wrong with this game
This is the diffibate ultimate Jedi experiance. If you want really fast lightsaber action pick up Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith.
    10 out-of 10 stars

1-0 out of 5 stars Not even close comparing to the original!
I'll get straight to the point since many of the other critique pretty much already mentioned what I wanted to mention.

To be fair, KOTOR 2 is not a bad game. However, it doesn't even come close to KOTOR 1. Why is that? Because in the original game, I felt alive while playing it. The story in KOTOR 1 is simple, straight forward, yet very addictive. Even after playing KOTOR 1 the 5th time (and knowing the game inside out), I still feel very addictive to it. However, after finishing KOTOR 2 the first time, I don't even want to play it again.

Furthermore, KOTOR 2 is more philosophical (it may be interesting, but unneccessary - look at KOTOR 1, it is so simple, yet very entertaining). While playing KOTOR 2, I have the feeling of playing it just to see how it ends, not to enjoy the game plot along the way like in KOTOR 1.

Bottom line, after along day working or studying, if I have a choice between KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 to play to relax my mind, I would definitely choose KOTOR 1 (eventhough I have played it dozen of times). I don't ever want to touch KOTOR II after playing it the first time because I consider a waste of my time to play KOTOR 2 the second time.

It's just something for KOTOR team to consider!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's More "Star Wars" than "Star Wars"
...or perhaps I should say, KOTOR2 explores the idea of the "Force" and those who wield it with such depth as to make the Star Wars movies - and to a lesser extent, KOTOR1 - seem juvenile.

I commend Obsidian for asking challenging questions about morality and causality, and for making characters realistically deep.It makes for a very engrossing game that plays like a great novel.

This game would be enjoyed by anyone with an appreciation for psychology, philosophy, or the Star Wars story. It is a good sequel to KOTOR1 and sets us up nicely for a KOTOR3.

Details: The soundtrack is terrific. The game will slow down occasionally, and I had one crash.I finished the game in 30 hours, completing most side missions. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ranks Up There with KOTOR
Well I beat this tonight after non-stop gameplay these last several days (I'd say about 20-30 hours of gameplay with side-quest completion). I must say I quite enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who liked KOTOR. They are similar in a lot of aspects, but at the same time gives you a fresh new RPG with many new things to discover.

The side-quests are quite enjoyable and proved to be much more creative and thought out than the "help with this person's problem and then give them money to get back on their feet." The story was also very good and their is a twist similar to the one in KOTOR, but completely caught me off-guard. It really did pull the story together though.

I will give this a little review in the aspects of the game for those interested--

    --GAMEPLAY--
Decent gameplay. I'd say the actual progression of character is very cool. As you play and become stronger you get more power to your weapons and styles of fighting. The voice acting is superb and throws you right back into the classic witty KOTOR dialogue we love so much. There is humor, action, and story. The only downfall is there really is no love story. The combat is a little repetetive after awhile but as your weapons are upgraded, the more your enemies are decapitated and spirt blood from their necks, giving the game a kind of Kill Bill aspect. Very cool for those who love the splatter of blood. The characters are also memorable and stick with you throughout the game, each with their own story and purpose in the game. The only hinderence in gameplay is that it sometimes would glitch on itself when you talked to someone and the words didn't come out and then it would freeze up. This probably happened 4 or 5 times throughout my gameplay. Although this could just be an effect of my Xbox getting older.

    GAMAEPLAY: 9.0

    --GRAPHICS--
Bioware really maxes out on the graphics this time around. I noticed a bunch of improvement in character movement especially, leaving behind the looped and annoying gestures of KOTOR characters. The characters can point you in directions, kneel down, stretch their necks, motion embarassment, hassle you by pointing... the list goes on and on. And the setting is absolutely spectacular. Each place has a completely different feel to it, from the Ancien Dirge Chinese temples to the grassy and welcoming environment of the Two Rivers Martial Arts School.

    GRAPHICS: 9.5

    --SOUND--
The sound is simply EXCELLENT! The colorful music score done by Jack Wall (JackWall.net) is awesome, always having that rich flavor of the eastern culture. A CD is in the possible works and I will be getting one if it is released. And the sound effects themselves were very well done. Bioware commented that there were over 2000 different sounds created in a recording studio to get all of the sounds perfect. They really outdid themselves on this. Next to KOTOR, this is the best video game score I have ever heard.

    SOUND: 10

Overall I would strongly recommend this game to anyone who is thinking about getting it. It's definately worth the money.

Also there are 3 different endings to the game instead of the standard two. One ends on a light note, one ends on a dark note, and one ends on a more compromising but ultimately dark note (perhaps could be called a failing note). I could watch all 3 in one game too, because if you change your pivitol decisions near the end of the game, your alignment can do a 180 on the outcome (including the last few lines of dialgue with the enemy which gives you the third ending).

Anyway really loved the game and would give it a 9.5 overall.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I'm a female gamer and really enjoyed Jade Empire. The graphics were beautiful the plot compelling and the character models amazing. You play as an orphan raised in the school of your Mentor Master Li. You have everything,(except perhaps romance at least for now ;-0 ), but your life takes a downward turn when one of the students is kidnapped and your master asks you to rescue her.

At first I found the gameplay too hard. I'm not a big fan of fighting games preferring games similar to KOTOR. But eventually I got the hang of how to work the keypad.(I DO however wish there was a general attack button and I was not compelled to hit the "A" key constantly to force my character to swing her sword). I also enjoyed some of the NPCS. Dawnstar. Henpecked Hu. Sky.

    Cons:

Some of the party members were rather useless...Such as the spirit 'merchant' who totally rips you off for silver, and the inventor, who stays at camp all the time.

I didn't care for the girl possessed by the Demon (sorry, she creeps me out. WAY too exorcist for me). =- )

Lack of ability to equip multiple henchmen.

GHOSTS. Way too many of them, and they are difficult for beginners to killI was bored.

Inability to customize your character's physical appearance.

    Pros:

    Fun romances

    Snappy dialogue

    Great story!

    Wonderful Music

This game is rated M for mature. It has adult situations and violence.

4-0 out of 5 stars If only ...
This game could have been so much. At first I thought this game was awesome, jumping around kicking peoples ass is do much fun. But later on, you realize how easy the game is. Sure, some people prefer to have fun rather than be chalenged, but that's what easy mode is for. Also, the game is way too short. I beat it in only 12 hours completing almost all of the side missions on hard.Which is a big dissapointment coming from bioware, considering I beat KOTOR in 20 hours on easy doing barely any of the side missions. The fighting isn't too good either. There aren't any special moves for any of the styles and it feels like you're just button mashing (even on hard). Don't get me wrong, the game is a blast, it's just not a challenge. It's way too short (there's only a few cities to go to) and the fighting can get repetitive. The story isn't bad but it's nothing special. You'll have a blast if you borrow of rent this game, but save your money for the KOTOR series.

5-0 out of 5 stars The next great RPG from Bioware
As I type this, I finished Jade Empire only minutes ago...and I am quite pleased with what Bioware brought to the table yet again.Great games like this (and other gems like Knights of the Old Republic) are too far and few between, yet it only serves to highlight just how great a game can be... when made by the right people.

Although the lush graphics and fluid animations are certainly a high point of Jade Empire, it's really the fleshed out storyline that makes this game shine. Throughout the entire 17 hours and 16 minutes that it took me to finish Jade Empire, I felt I was very much a part of something "big".Each person you meet along the way has a part to play, and they feel much more than just supporting characters in a video game.

They bring their own hopes, fears, dreams, and even personal viewpoints... and are developed nicely. In essence, they not only help to move the story along its key points, but they feel like they are there for a specific purpose. Walking away from the game, I felt that all were crucial in my journey... something that is unusual in most games I play today (even my much beloved Knights of the Old Republic).Beyond the characters, the storyline itself was full of surprises, which fueled my desire to keep moving forward in the game. If you've played other games from Bioware, you'll know that things are not always as they appear.

Much like KOTOR, Jade Empire incorporates what we gamer's affectionately call the "morality system" into the game; though not as clear-cut this time around. Instead of choosing the path of "good" or "evil", players choose a demeanor based on the "Open palm" or "Closed fist" principles. Although some may view the closed fist as somewhat closer to evil than the open palm, it really just means that you are choosing a path based more on physical power, than inner strength, much like hard vs. soft styles in the martial arts world. What about the game play itself, you ask?

The game play mechanics were pretty neat, though I didn't find the normal difficulty setting all that challenging (for the most part anyway). The amount of styles you could purchase seemed unending, and choosing from each of them really wasn't that difficult. Mapping them to the respective d-pad was a cinch. My only regret was how little I used the strong attacks in the game, due to how open they left my character so open to counterattacks. Opposing characters could block your fast attacks, but getting past their shields was as simple as jumping over their heads and attacking again from behind.

Of course if you played the game on hard, this was much easier said than done. Bottom line though, you don't want to go anywhere near the easy difficulty, or the game might be a "pushover" for most of you. Difficulty settings aside, I greatly enjoyed the combat engine and the many fighting styles I could choose "on the fly".Besides being a boatload of fun, they enable you to personalize your martial style to your liking.

As I expected, the voice work and music was quite good. Though based on an obvious fictitious Asian world, the sounds (and sights of course) of Jade Empire are believable in every respect. It is obvious that much work was put into using the music to help convey feeling throughout the game, and shows. Overall, I think Jade Empire is fantastic, and I applaud this and the other great games Bioware has made for the Xbox.

The only real complaint SOME may have is with the length of the game itself. While I completed it in around 17 hours, I didn't do most of the side quests. Had I done so, I can imagine the game lasting somewhat longer. Of course you could play it through again using the opposite style of what you chose the first time, and squeeze even more game play out of Jade Empire. Bottom line? I don't think my time is really a good gage of Jade Empire's true length. Nonetheless, I loved every minute of the game, and I think most of you will as well.Though not perfect, Jade Empire is quite the game.

    "gAmE bOi"

4-0 out of 5 stars The 2nd best RPG!!!!
Jade Empire is an excellent game, period. It's not perfect, but what game is?Well, KOTOR came pretty close to perfect...so due to it's similarities and since many people played that game (either loving it or hating it) I think it is a good reference point for Jade Empire.

STORY -As usual with Bioware, the game is driven strongly by a great story and very interesting characters. From a young girl possessed by two different demons and a mysterious and feisty woman in black, to a huge axe wielding mercenary who only wants to drink and fight. The plot is filled with myth, magic, spirits, demons and a share of comedy. It has elements of classic kung fu movies which you will immediately recognize. The only downside to the story is that it's not that surprising.I think the plot twist KOTOR had will be very hard to beat...and Jade Empire has it's share of surprises, but nothing you can't see coming.I won't reveal the plot twist, but I think the impact of KOTOR's plot twist was that it involved the player's character directly, while Jade Empire's twist centers around an NPC.This is not necesseraly bad, since it serves the plot perfectly and ties up the story nicely...but the impact is not as strong.Regardless, Jade Empire's story and characters are by far it's strongest points.

GAMEPLAY - A lot of people complained about KOTOR's turn based system, so did I when I started the game.To fix that, Jade Empire's combat system is real time. This was done no doubt to try and get more people to play the game, not only RPG fans, and since it is a kung fu game it makes sense. The combat system is essentially a rock-scissor-paper game. The downside....it's too simple!Action gamers will not get as excited with the fighting system due to it's simplicity and RPG fans will miss the strategy behind the turn based system.Add the fact that the standard difficulty level is not too tough and you end up with a pretty easy game to beat. There's no real leveling-up, all this does is increase your health, chi and focus bars more, and improve your styles, which by the way you can get along with just two of them really.I beat the game with the first weapon style I got and the first martial style. The inventory is also trimmed down a lot to gems. While in KOTOR you had to customize your inventory for different fights or situations, adding to the strategy, here you can get along just fine with whatever it is you're carrying. In summary, the gameplay seems to be "RPG-Light" to try and get more people to play it, but it may be just a bit too simple. The moral aspect of it has no influence either. While in KOTOR being dark side or light side had meant different quests, different powers, etc. in Jade Empire it has really no influence during the game, probably just for the ending.Does the gameplay make the game less enjoyable...not really, but it is I think it's weakest point.

GRAPHICS AND SOUND - No complaints here.Graphics are awesome, the music great, and the voice over is good as well. The loading times are still long though.

OVERALL -As said at the beginning, the game is great...although I personally enjoyed KOTOR more. This one is also shorter which is a shame because it is good enough to make you want to keep playing it.Story, characters, graphics and sound are great while gameplay is good, but a bit trimmed down. That's why I think it's the second best RPG...KOTOR still being the best. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars KICK@$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Republic Commando, Star Wars 2.5, the best ever Star Wars game to date not tomention one of the best I've played, ever. It's just better than Halo and Halo 2.They got boring fast except for XBOX LIVE.This feels like it will never lose it's intention on making your jaw drop with stunning graphics, really incredible gameplay high quality sound etc. This isn't and 8/10 or a 4/5 it's almost perfect. My only gripe is that the clones voices are different, but it's probrably some voice masking device to tell them apart. AWESOME ISN'T ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE THIS GAME!!! GO GEORGE LUCAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good if you like gunning games.
This game is good but it just doesn't cut it following up in Halo's wake. Less intense than Halo but the levels are basicly repetetive after the first. Plus, being able to revive your soldiers makes it a lot less challenging. Still, it is pretty fun.

1-0 out of 5 stars Please wake me up... I fell asleep
This game was cool through the first level, but every level after that was almost identical. The weapons set seamed very weak, I felt like I was shooting a pea shooter the whole game. I also spent way too much time "Retrieving Bacta" (health for the squad) this game really seams two years behind in game play and definitely didn't live up to the hype. The squad control was OK but there is very little strategy when commanding them. The blue highlights around Snipe or Anti-Armor locations scream put a guy here, again eliminating any strategy. Buy the way "XBOX Live" game play is horrible, I will be trading this game in tomorrow.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great GamePlay, I didn't find bugs or get bored!
Good game, better than Halo 2 and the sqaud is fun, handy, and intelligent. I have heard repotts about bugs but I didn't find any. The game is somewhat short but the good visuals and interactive envirments make up for that. The squad is very funny and keep you entertaned in the darkest places. Easy controls, and good acting, plus the missions don't get boring, even if you do them again and agian. I may have finally found the perfect game. Kinda a mixture between halo 2, Ghost Recon, and battlefront. With a variety of alien ***holes to kick and very powerful stategic requirements, this game is the best!

3-0 out of 5 stars It's not in the league of Halo but...almost
The game adds aspects that you want in Halo, like being able to talk to your men and have more control utilizing them on the battlefield. Also the gameplay is very consistent as well as the physics and environment. Most visual aspects are clear and not shrouded in fuzzy darkness. I consider these major pluses. (Also the action keys are nearly identical to Halo - so you don't have to reprogram your fingers! Sweet!)

However the graphics, in terms of resolution and perspective, just aren't on the level of Halo. And your enemies have not much of a personality. (Whereas your teammates do - and even incorporate humor - but their comments recycle waay too quickly). There is a great lack in variability in game sequence. While it's not a 2D sidescroller, there isn't much freedom to manipulate the battle environment or how the sequence of subtasks unfold.

The physics of body desecration after a kill are pretty cool - and obviously the programming accomdates this quite well so who am I not to play all the aspects of the game?

The game disk jacket boasts a rating from GameInformer that says "perhaps the smartest squad AI ever seen." I thought this would carry over to enemy squads. Not at all. True, the AI for you and your teammates is top notch - but is wasted on monolithic enemies that rarely seek cover, change attack style, or retreat when you start to overpower them.

It is fun to play and a cut above most of what's out there in the genre. I would suggest renting first because you get a good feel for the gameplay in the first few missions.

Lastly, as negatives - you are on foot the whole time. There are no vehicles you can drive/fly. And what's up with no cooperative play?

5-0 out of 5 stars 2 Times The Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUY!!!!!!!!!!
    Disc 1:The Game
Halo 2 is probably the best piece of work I have ever seen!!!!
Halo 2 is an all out action, sc-fi first person shooter!!! Dang I wish sc-fi movies were all like this!!! The story takes place right after the orignal Halo, if you didn't play the first game ... well... don't get me started; JUST BUY IT!!!!!!! The whole Covenant and Human conflict is still going on!!! In Halo 2 the game tells a lot more about the Halo universe *cough* the PROPHETS *cough*!!!! Halo 2 is a lot more stylish and has bascialy been refurbished!!! This game has improved in everything from graphics, to level structure, new and improved weapons, the dual wield feature, improved marine inteligence, vast landscapes and breathtaking scenery, awesome cut scenes which flavor the story!!! The new armor make gameplay at times a little easier with the shield able to charge up faster but, it can sometimes be bad if you can't find cover though!!! The new dual wield system makes the game much better with many deadly combos and so much opputuinty!!! I give credit to Bungie and Microsoft for making this possible, with all their hard work and dedication!!! The game itself has two different story lines: one being about the arbiter/ a covenant Elite/ which gives the game from the covenant point of view and of course Master Chief!!! The story in campaign mode spans out from 15 unique and just plainly unbelievable!!! In Normal mode the game takes about 10-14 hours of gameplay but, as you get into Heroic and Legendary modes it starts to get tough!!! As the Arbiter you play along as a member of a covenant Spec. Ops. group fighting against Heretics, from the Flood, to fighting alongside the humans the in an unlikely alliance against the Brutes. Well anybody who has played the first Halo knows who da' Master Chief is... so just give me a break!!! Fine, the Master Chief is a human cyborg (Spartan) who is known as Demon to the Covenant. With him you defend the Cario Space Station, chase them away from earth, take on a whole Covenant army on a second halo(a super weapon), pursue a Prophet, fight your way through the Covenant High Temple, and survive another encounter with the Flood!!!

    Game Outline:
    Levels:
The Heretic- cut scene kicking off the story of both the soon to be Arbiter and The Master Chief!!!
The Armory- A quick tutorial along wit another cut- scene!!!
Cario Station-/Master Chief/ Defend the stations MAC gun from destruction!!!
Outskirts-/Master Chief/ Rally scattered marines, in an counter- attack, clear hostiles out of outskirts of city!!!
Metropolis- Take Main Bridge, Drive Covenant out of Meteropolis. Defeat the Scarab.
The Arbiter-/Arbiter/ Infiltrate Space Station and eliminate all heretics and other complication *cough* THE FLOOD *cough*
    The Oracle-/Arbiter/ Kill Heretic leader!!!
Delta Halo-/Master Chief/ Take out Covenant Army on second Halo , locate the Prophet of Regret!!!
Regret-/Master Chief/ Kill Prophet of Regret... at all cost!!!
*PERSONAL NOTE: I bet you that the Prophet of Regret probably regrets coming to earth, getting his fleet blown to pieces by the core, and managing to get himself killed!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best One Yet!
If you are a first-person shooter player, look no further! This game is all you could ever want, the story line has a different mode whereas you can play as Master Cheif on Halo 1, but in this game you are Master Cheif and The Arbiter(a covenant elite). This game has great multiplayer optoins especially on X-box Live. I could not wait to get this awesome game, but Bunjie and Microsoft have yet to show us their skills, in Halo 3!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the first Months
When i first played this game over Xbox live i was completely blown away by its great gamplay and graphix. i love every bit of it and couldnt stop playing it ever since then. i was like o my god halo 2 is the greatest game online. but now, after 5 months, im like, damn this game is boring i dont feel like playing it. it gets very very boring after you have had over 600 hours of playing time over halo.i am a playstation 2 owner and even now im not bored of SOCOM II but i am over halo. even my friends who usually play have there excuses for mot playing online. around the 12 people that played halo 2 when i first got it, only 4 of them are still on the game. i suggest that you take the free 2 month subscription and if your starting to get bored of halo, dont renew it, unless you are a diehard halo 2 fan and will never stop, then ok but i know most of you that have been playing this game since november are already bored now. in case you wanna play me on Halo 2 add me on either Detox Doc, Girlaphobia, Ben Coker ... 5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!
AWESOME!!!DOOM I II and III on one disk nothing more needs to be said....BUY THIS!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Thanks id for another great game
Doom 3 is THE scariest game I've played yet. Im waiting to get resident evil 4 for my gamecube. But i dont know if it will compare to walking down a bloodstained corridor with , written in blood on the walls, words like DIE SUFFER BURN. Then all the lightbulbs shatter, leaving you with only a flickering bulb. But then you start to see the images of "things" with chainsaws flashing around you that arent really there. thats when id really amazed me. Thanks id, looking foward for quake4. peace out.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Doom 3 Collector's Edition
First off, I love Doom. I have loved the franchise since the first time I played it. The series has aways been great, but not to scary. Not any more. Doom 3 is an enhancement on everything that Id Software has brought us before.

The moment I started the game, I was hooked. I was playing non-stop, and was terrified the entire time. Id Software has taken Doom to an unimaginable level of detail, fun, and terror. The game has a lot more story this time, but not enough to where you will be playing for twelve hours before you fire your weapon. Basically, you are a marine stationed at the Union Aerospace Corporation, (UAC) where teleportation is being extenisivley researched. Something goes wrong, and a gateway to hell is opened. After that, the game consists of shooting, dying, and screaming in terror.

A lot of people complain about not being able to use your flashlight and gun at the same time. This highly trained marine can wield guns of all types, take multiple hits before dying, and can hold off the entire populus of Hell by himself, but he just can't seem to figure out duct-tape. It seems really stupid, but it adds terror to the game. I for one, think that it was a good move on Id Software's part.

Now, if this was all that Doom 3 had to offer, I could stop right now. But, there is online multiplayer, and online cooperation, which is exclusive to the Xbox version. Also, if you can afford to shell out the extra ten dollars to buy the Collector's Edition, do so. The Collector's Edition includes concept art, developer interviews, and an entire episode of

5-0 out of 5 stars and i thought resident evil was a scary game...
i remember playin resident evil on PS2 and gettin the crap scared out of me, but this is just rediculous.90% of the reason that it is scary is probably because of the lighting.just about every room is dark with flickering lights.some rooms even go pitch black which almost gave me a freakin heart attack.it really feels like you are the marine in this game.i would probably kill myself if i was in his situation.one of the scariest moments i had in this game was...

the first time you get the chainsaw...you kill a fat dude to get it then a door opens to let you move forward.well as soon as you go through this ALL the lights in the hallway and adjacent rooms go out and blood made pentagrams are splashed on the walls, floors, ceiling, etc and babies start crying, voices start whispering.i hid in a dark corner and waited for the lights to come back on because i almost sh*t my pants.

i recommend anyone who has a history of heart attacks do not play this game because it WILL give you one.

5-0 out of 5 stars HAPPY! HAPPY!JOY! JOY!
Doom 3 is one of the best games I've played all year! And that's saying something since I got the Xbox at the beginning of the year and have played both halo's(you'll basically forget about those after you have played this), Star Wars Battlefront, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein! All great games, but Doom 3 seems to BLOW THEM AWAY!!!

If you have the extra bread, get this one because it will definately be right up the ally of the classic doom fan as well since it has doom 2 and ultimate doom. I only have those on pc and am not a really big fan of the keyboard and mouse and my computer is about as old as Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

Doom 3 really packs a punch and will scare you $h*+less, because I just got done playing it a while ago and just got a clean pair of underwear. The graphics are wonderful, the weapons are really awesome and pack a punch too!

This game has definatley takenadvantage of the xbox and I am very glad that is is on the xbox and that I am very lucky to have one. You will love this if you can take a few scares. Well, that's putting it a little lightly.

If you have an Xbox, you are definately in luck! Rent or buy this immediately and see what I'm talking about! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ARCADE Edition
This game is all about fun. It takes you back to the good times you used to have at the arcade. Everything about this game screams ARCADE. The sense of speed is the best I've ever seen. The graphics and sound can't touch those of NFS Underground 2. But you'll being having too much fun to care. I fell in love with the graphics and sound of NFSU 2, but the overall gameplay was lacking a lot. The gameplay of this game is way better and way more fun. The amount of cars/bikes/trucks to choose from is insane. This is a long game so you might want to buy it. I rented it but I couldn't finish. This is a MUST-PLAY for racing game fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best racing game of all time
This game is, as my title reads, the best racing game of all time. The GT series, NFS series, and all other games cannot equal the fun, excitement, and speed of MC3. As the other reviewers have put, the first two were a flawed a little. Rockstar, however, made a huge improvement with the third installement of Midnight Club. I just have one negative issue with it: there's no drag races. Can't have a street racing game with out a few drag races. But, don't let this turn you away from the game. It's still the best racing game out there. Nothing adds up to the power and speed of MC3. It's worth its $50. I haven't been able to put the controller for the past few days. My g/f hates video games, but, when she played this game, she absolutely loved it. Now that really says something for this game. Overall, it's a must have for all of you racing fans out there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but too easy
It's a great game and has many improvements over MCII, but some of these improvements made the game way too easy. Sure, II had its flaws, but it was able to make every race hard enough that you had to memorize the course and make no mistakes to win. I got through San Diego without getting a new car, or making any upgrades to my car, and winning the majority of the races without restarting. In II, it would sometimes take hours to beat many of the races, and hardly any races could be won on the first try. Most collisions aren't as damaging as before, or at any rate, they're much easier to avoid. That said, it still is an incredibly fun game and definetly worth buying. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars Doom 3
This game is one of the best games i have ever played. It has great graphics. Envoirnments. And alot of other great things. i would recommend this game alot. But Not if you are younger than about 12 to 13 years old. This game has very high levels of blood and gore. I am 12 years old and my parents only let me buy it was because i made a big deal with them. In this game you kill zombies monsters. A lot of the monsters are very gruesome. another reason not to let young kids play this is because it is so scary! you will be walking along and a demented zombie with half his head blow off and is on fire will just apear out of no where. what really dissapointed me about this game is that you don't have any duct tape so you have to switch between your flash kight and your gun. and the fact that the levels are so dark. so you can hardly see anything but thats why its so scary. There is also some gore like you will be walking along and there might be a arm leg or pelvis on the ground. but i do have to admit the body parts do look fake. Sortof rubber like something you would get for halloween. But overall this game is very great. And if you are 12 or 13 or older this game is a must have. but if you are not the wait will pay off. GREAT GAME!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply disturbing...
I'll just keep this short and simple--I've been a Doom fan since the beginning and the old versions were creepy, but as for this version...the title of my review says it all! Make sure you have a loud sound system with surround sound, turn the lights off, and get ready for your hair to stand on end!

Just one final note--many complain about the flashlight, but I think it adds an element of challenge to the game...how fast can you grab your weapon before you get pummeled?!?

4-0 out of 5 stars Wha? What? Was that a woman crying?!?
    Single Player*:

Doom 3 is avant garde in the sound and lighting department. The strange sounds you hear bouncing along the piped walls seem to get more frequent the more time you take. You have no idea if they are in the distance, if they are right in front hiding in some unlit place. Hell, you hear them. A rattling corpes falls , dangling from the ceiling, it was this the rattling noise, nothing more, nothing less. Next noise and you might not be so lucky, cause the service lights of the complex just went out. Should you hold your favorite artillery in the dark or hold your flashlight to see your way through? Balance it out, perhaps, switching mindlessly between light source and twitching trigger finger.

This is Doom 3 and it's a perfect upgrade of what I'd expect the Doom 2 classic to be today. The graphics and mood are built with as much realism I've ever seen in a game. Things pop out from dark corners and lunge through opened doors, making you jump back more than once.

The controls in the game utilize the XBox R-type controller perfectly. The D-pad allows you to assign direction (^V<>) to your favorite lead/plasma/rocket/soul stocked wrist cronies. This allows for quick access. The concept of quick access is driven further with the incessant need to switch flashlight/artillery.

The single player story is told through dead people's PDAs. Pick em up (they're not using 'em anymore) and find access codes and tales of their experiences in their UAC Depts. It's an interesting way of telling a story that's been told before. I enjoyed this medium.

    Online Co-Op*:

This is a great addition to the game, one that any XBliver will be very happy to have. Grab a buddy and go through the game together. I haven't solved the game in this mode, but the levels for Online Co-Op seem to be a little fewer and/or peared down from the single player game. It's a fun experience especially with a friend.

In closing, Doom 3 is a great dark masterpiece. It's very reminiscent of the old Doom games you remember from PC, seeing upgrades of your enemies and all that. You'll also remember that the enemies will come right at you, head-on, in a rather dumb sort of fashion, meaning they lack state of the art AI. That's a reason I chainsawed a star away from being a 5 star title. Don't expect flanking or running and hiding on the vermin's part. They come right at you. Many times this makes you jump back.

*The reason I structured this way is because I found the Single Player game the best experience of Doom 3. Don't cheat. Single Player meaning no spectators in the room and lights out. Stereo sound if you have it. The game is less atmospheric if you are talking to someone in the room or joking with your XBox live buddy at how fat his ex-girfriend is.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Doom, For Better and For Worse
I make it a habit of renting games before buying them. If the game's truly worth it, I'll gladly pay the "extra" fee due to renting it first. I rented Doom3 for the Xbox, and here's my spin on it.

    Pros:
    - graphics are superb and very atmospheric. It's
