Creative and a whole lotta fun!
GREAT game! Very creative and different, and most of all just a lot of fun. It is not a dating game, though you do go on a blind date in one of the levels. You have to achieve different goals by having conversations with different people. (By the way, you can play either a girl or a guy in the game.) It's pretty cool watching people's reactions depending on what you say. I would definetly recommend this game. I have been enjoying it very much and have never played anything like it before. It has become one of my favorites so far in my collection of DS games.
Nintendo's Wallet is the only thing to get lucky.
This is not a funky, hip, cute game. It is BORING.
Do NOT buy this game. I had a bad feeling about this game and avoided it like the plague until boredom and a lack of DS games led me to read the fabulous reviews here on Amazon. I reluctantly bought the game, and have been amazingly disappointed.
It is a frustrating conversation game, nothing more. What do I mean by a conversation game? Well, the top screen has the person you are talking to. The bottom screen prints what they say, and then you pick what you want to say back. That is IT. This game is a complete waste of the DS format. No touching involved, no timing, no dexterity... you can even select everything with the control pad and `A' button with no trouble at all. This game format is so incredibly poor that it could have been released on the Game Boy Color, and the only compromise would have been in how pretty the picture the person you are talking to is. I did not say GBA. I'm talking Game Boy Color. (Yes, this game is that far beneath the DS format.)
Why is this game frustrating? If you don't pick an exact sequence of responses within the conversations, or at least very close to an exact formula, the game is over and you have to start at the beginning of the `scene' again. When you complete THAT conversation, guess what? You get a new conversation to guess your way through and restart five times.
Worst of all, the conversation is NOT snappy, unique, or humorous. I played this game for about two hours, hoping it would evolve into something other than a seemingly endless string of mind-numbingly dull conversation patterns. It did not.
I don't know what I regret more - the money I spent on this game, or the hours lost playing it.
But I'm sure people will vote my review not helpful because they are fans of this game. Whatever.
The best game I never played.
Honestly, I never played the game. I simply never got the chance, as the game was hi-jacked by my girlfriend. Who simply ADORED Sprung! She played it over and over again. She laughed out loud. She blushed. Her toes curled.
My curiosity was piqued. I just had to know what the fuss was about. I just had to know why my Nintendo DS was being bogarted. After a few minutes of looking over her shoulder - I understood.
The game isn't your typical videogame, by any means. Instead, it is a "digital comic" - a popular game genre in Japan. (To date and to my knowledge, the only other digital comic game to have made it to U.S. shores was Snatcher for the Sega CD.) This game is essentially a "choose your own adventure" book, but with the added benefit of lush and modern graphics and catchy music.
The humor borders on adult and is well suited for a teen audience. Basically, it adheres to modern television standards. Ultimately, parents will have to decide if their child should play this game.
As it stands, the game is fantastic for young girls and guys alike. However, some of the more insecure guys may feel uncomfortable playing a game that doesn't involve mutilations and prostitute killing.
Not the best ever, but good for a laugh.
It's not the greatest game you'll ever play but it is rather amusing, and is something nice to pick up every once in a while when you're not looking for anything hardcore.
The game plays almost like a choose your own adventure book. Missions are given like : get these two on a date or make sure this person gets out of the club. Ultimately trying to hook up with your 'crush'.You control the way the story plays out, and there are alternite paths to go by. Interaction with people is purley on a multiple choice level, but it doesn't limit your interaction with characters.
You can also play the game as a girl or a boy, and unlock items you recieve from friends to help you with your goals and duel screen posters of major events.
Great Game!!!
Well, this at first was a game that I thought I wouldn't like. But it's actually quite fun!! I highly recommend it! And you can really learn some good dating tips from this ;) the whole game is like your living the life of this girl or boy, and you have to get the conversations right, or else gameover! But, you get unlimited tries at each scene, so don' fret if you mess up! It's somewhat like SIMS, but a more detailed talking, etc. and you don't live their entire lives. Anyways, very good game, good expresions, very fun overall! Enjoy!
