Amazon.com Review

The Dreamcast system is, in a word, awesome. Fire up Soul Calibur, and instantly you'll appreciate that the graphics and gameplay are even better than in the arcade version. And Sonic Adventure, with its light-speed gameplay, is sure to wow even the most jaded gamer.

It's amazing that such a small machine (it's about the size of your mouse pad) can deliver such incredible performance. Chalk it up to superior engineering. Dreamcast's only downside is that it comes with only one controller and a demo disc. In order to truly take advantage of Dreamcast's capabilities, we recommend outfitting the controller with a Jump Pack and a Visual Memory Unit. Getting one or more extra controllers is also a good idea, because some of the best Dreamcast games support up to four players at once.

Why it's so cool:

  • Ultramodern components: Custom-made video, audio, and processor technology blows away the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation and puts Dreamcast in the same league as PS2 and XBox.
  • Integrated modem: In another video-game first, Dreamcast comes with a 56K modem. Use your regular Internet service provider and the separately sold keyboard to access e-mail, shopping, and the World Wide Web. Not only can you upload high scores, participate in chat discussions, and download updates and enhancements for your games, but, through a membership to the SegaNet Internet service provider, you can play Quake III Arena, NFL 2K1, and other games against Dreamcast owners over the Internet.
  • The Visual Memory Unit (VMU): More than just a memory card, the VMU is a miniature portable game system that fits inside a controller--so its LCD screen is easily seen by you but hidden from your opponent.
  • All-in-one entertainment: It plays games. It plays audio CDs. It connects to the Internet and lets you browse the Web or e-mail friends. Our note to the cost-conscious: If you have a Dreamcast system, you just don't need a separate CD player or a separate computer. Dreamcast does it all, and does it well.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Sega Dreamcast is better than a Gamecube.
I love the Sega Dreamcast so much. The Dreamcast has online and a Gamecube dose not. A Dreamcast is easyer. A Gamecube is more harder. Dreamcast has more better games than Gamecube. Gamecube is just a copy of a Dreamcast. I give a Gamecube a 7.5 . I give a Sega Dreamcast a 9.5 . I wish they haven't stop making games for the Dreamcast.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hours of good fun playing!
I bought a Dreamcast last week for (...)with more than 20 games and I'm very happy I did! Some games on it are just amazing.. I have an xbox but I love fighting games and Dreamcast has a bunch of quality ones. I can also play, nes, snes, mega drive and mames games on TV: that's just the best ! Very cool console.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreamcast
The release of NHL 2K2 marks the end of the Sega Dreamcast's remarkable run. While production of the Dreamcast may be over, the legacy lives on. In the dreamcasts short lived life time 248 Dreamcast titles were released. The first console to venture into online gameplay, Dreamcast has a built-in 56K modem. With 128-bit processing, 3D audio capabilities and stellar 3D graphics, your gameplay experience just got better.

When you purchase Dreamcast, you receive the Dreamcast console, 56K modem, one standard Dreamcast Controller, Stereo A/V cable, power cable, ten-meter phone cable, Internet browser CD-ROM, game sampler CD-ROM, and instruction manual.

Peak graphics performance of over three million polygons per second provided by the PowerVR 2DC graphics engine for the fastest, most sophisticated 3D graphics ever seen on a videogame console.

128-bit 3D processing power provides amazing lighting and other special effects.

Built-in 56kbps modem for the ultimate in multiplayer online gaming.

16 megabytes of memory for huge, complex game worlds.
64-voice CD-quality audio.

Four built-in controller ports for easy multi-player action.
Built-in high-speed expansion ports.

If you a collector and want the last sega console ever made then dreamcast can be had for about $40 to $20 bucks depending on where you look

1-0 out of 5 stars a chunk of moneydown the drain
I bought it, but then I bought sonic adventure 2 after that. I turned my console on, then the screen turned pitch black. It froze. If you want to play sonic adventure or sonic adventure 2, buy a NINTENDO GAMECUBE. I know those work. This system is 6 years old. If you buy it, a big clump of money is down the drain. Now, go to the homepage and type 'gamecube' in the search bar for amazon.com and start shoppin'!

5-0 out of 5 stars What is wrong with you ppl?
Ok, Ive been reading the reviews and I'm A bit angry. Sega revolutionized the market with Dreamcast.Without it, alot of the games we play now might not even exist. Without Sega, We might not even have 3-D games. The first systems with true 3-D capabilities were the Saturn and PS1 and the PS1 technology was stolen from Nintendo! The Playstation was A CD add-on for Super Nintendo but when Sony was recruited, they stole the technology and the name. If Nintendo were to launch a lawsuit and the new home console code named revolution, you would be buying Nintendo PSP because Sony would be wiped out. As for the Dreamcast, it was a great system but because the phanboys failed to see that, it failed. As for the phanboys in question, if you cant even capitalize letters, your not worth my time. Stop putting bad reviews here and go play your PS2. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars A gamer's must
I used the non-electronic Game-dr. for a year and had to buy the electronic one. If your a gamer and want to resurface your old scatched cds I highly recommend it. Most of the pople who gave this bad reviews probably resurfaced it too much or didnt buy a new resurfacing disk. All my games and Cds that didnt work work excellent now.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal
I did a lot of research on this product before deciding to purchase it, but with all the negative reviews posted i was real hesitant.I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and buy it.I needed something to repair my X-Box games that were deeply scratched and would not even boot up.After getting the game doctor i choose a game that i did not cared about loseing.I followed the directions to the letter and put my game in the system and turned it on, and just like magic it booted flawlessly!!I would recomend this product to any one with the same delema.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lame Doctor This Sucks
I agree with all the other bad reviews. Spent the money on the doctor and it made 2 discs worse. Followed instructions to the letter. I'm gonna sue for malpractice!!

1-0 out of 5 stars BOO.
this thing sucks.I BROUGHT it and it ieft marks.I tryed again.DO notbuy this.they waste yourgood money.hear me this .they sould sue the creator of this for spending your money.

1-0 out of 5 stars it works occasionally
i bought this to repair a game i got for free that was scratched up to hell (didn't go through the top though).i used it on both discs (it was Red Alert: Retaliation for the psx) and then it worked pretty good, the only thing is that i still don't get music.i then went on repairing my brothers pc games, after the second one the strip that grinds down the protective layer was ruined and started scratching the disc. The free replacement wheel had its strip fallen off due to using crappy glue.Don't buy this, it'll eat up way to much money and can destroy your game CD! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This is the best thing ever!!!
Man this item is fantastic. I love wasting $80 on pointless furniture. Getting a great cheap plastic looking set that holds all my games and systems.... Man I must be in heaven. Not only that but it breaks easily, does this thing have no limit? So I bought this great video center around a year ago.... And what happens it breaks. I had it for a couple of weeks and does it look like dog crap. It looks like you're in a baby kids room. Similar to those play centers in day cares or McDonalds. Man that is lame.... I just love having children decor in my house, and it has to be $80. If I were you.... I would just let my systems, TV, and CDs sit in some tubberware. Believe me it would be 50X safer!!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!!
i bought this video center for my son for christmas as well a ps2 to store and at first i did not think that it would fit in the drawer part but it did but the ps2 games do not fit on the top left and right slots because of the length of the games however they do fit on the sides where you would put the vhs tapes and that is where my son has added his games so you would have to be a little creative with it. i had seen a review where a lady had bought this item for her son and she was very disappointed once she could not place the games in the slots and stated not to purchase. everyone out there! do not listen to that its a must have and it does help with organizing your room area! and the price at the time during the holiday season i could not resist for $71.99 plus free shipping! WOW!

4-0 out of 5 stars good buy
We thought this was very handy storage. It holds all our video equiptment just right.

5-0 out of 5 stars Idea
This looks like a great organizer, but with you people that have a x-box ps2 game cube and a dvd player you can buy cd cases that music cds come in and place the ps2 xbox and game cube games in those along with the dvds. It would be a bit of money depending on how many games and dvds you have though...

2-0 out of 5 stars If you have a PS2, or a DVD player, DON'Tbuy this!
I was very excited when the box first arrived at our doorstep. My eight year old son and I managed to get the unit put together, after a little tugging to get some of the screws to go into place. We carried it up to his room, and put the T.V. and V.C.R. into place. My excitement turned to bitter dissapointment, however, when I tried to fit my son's PS2 games into the shelves desighned to hold CD's or VCR tapes. The PS2, and DVD cases are too big to fit into these slots. I had just not realized that they would not work with this model. The whole reason I ordered this unit was too try to organize some of the mess in his room, so this will not work for me. I will probably try to return it, and order the newer model. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one of the most over looked systems.
I just got the chance to play one of the Dreamcast for the first time a little while ago. When i did, i was amazed at all it could do.

You can play dreamcast games (sonic is fun, so is jet set radio), but the best comes from how easy it is to do other things with it.

the one thing that could have made it better is DVD playback without to much work. If this system could have that, it would still be big.

5-0 out of 5 stars Black one is cool but the original color looks professional.
I like the Dreamcast and it has to be one of the most vercitile systems ever made because you can do prettymuch anything with it, including playing DVD's. Thats if you know how to set the system up anyway. All in all, I don't think that anyone appreciates how hot this system really is and even with all the import games that it has!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Sega Dreamcast is one of the best system ever!
A while back I really wanted a Nintendo Gamecube. But, it was [expensive]! Just for the system and a controller. I saved up my Birthday money, christmas money and allowence and only came up to [not enough money]. Darn! I was short [money]! Then I looked in EGM's "Holiday Game Guide 2002" and compared the DC to the GC. I figured that they were almost the same. Luckly, my friend down the street hd th DC so i went over to his house and played on it for a while. Finally, i mady choice. DC it is! Compared to the GC they practically have the same graphics, some of he same games(Craxy Taxi, Sonic 2 which is slightly better than the DC version)the DC had cooler pheriphals(microphone, keyboard, mouse, gun, VMU, Rumble back, go online right out of the box) and some cooler games(Seaman,Sonic Adventure, Vutra Tennis, Marvel vs.Capcom 1&2). So instead i bought a black limited edition DC at a store and bought Vutra Tennis and a VMU. And still had [money] left over. What a Bargan! Months passed and the GC went don to [less money]. And I had 5 games, 2 VMU's, 1 Rumble pack, a web browser and a keyboard. I could have waited for the GC to go down [in cost] and get only the console and the controller or i could have gotten theDC 3 games 2 vmu's and a rumble pack....i'll stick with the DC. Who knows? The GC might even come down [in price].

hi is this agetek or topmax cuz i want to buy the agetek pad i dont understand the real stury of amazon etc but i waant the official sega agetek stick is this the good one ?

1-0 out of 5 stars The Picture is Deceiving
The picture that amazon shows is not at all what your going to get. They say that they are selling an Agetek control strick that is grey with green buttons, but what you acctually recieve is a black Topmax controller that is of poor quality. Amazon doesn't acctually sell the Agetek controller at all. They re-direct you to a marketplace site that has no pictures of the product. It completely misleading and a blatant use of false advertising.

    2-0 out of 5 stars ARCADE STICK---NOT-AGETEK
We had the controller for three days and one of the wires had to be re soldered and one of the buttons keeps sticking.Would not buy this particular item again.Would try the AGETEK ARCADE STICK next time.Didn't realize I ordered the other brand when buying this item.

I was just as satisfied and glad as the other reviewers who had purchased the dream blaster gun. It works very accurately and is very light and comfortable. It is also a rare item to find now that the product has discontinued its sale in stores and online. Im glad to have found it. It is the best light gun out there for the dreamcast. As mentioned in other review, there are other games out there instead of just House of the Dead 2 that use this gun. Theres also Virtua Cop 1 and 2.

    Editorial Review

The person who came up with the phrase "cheaters never prosper"obviously never had a GameShark. This device has already proven to be amust-own for hard-core gamers on other platforms--and now it finallyarrives on the Dreamcast. For the uninitiated, GameShark temporarilymodifies game code to enable special cheats... and we're happy toreport that it works like a charm.

The shiny box includes a videotape that shows beginners how to get themost out of the device, a GD-ROM containing the boot-up software, several preinstalled cheat codes for a variety of games, and a small"code holder" that attaches to the bottom port of your Dreamcastcontroller. To use the device, you just load the included GD-ROM,select the game you want to play from the list, and tell the GameSharkwhich cheat codes to enable. Then you simply insert the game disc whenprompted, and the cheat codes will be in effect as soon as the gamelaunches, courtesy of the little black device attached to your gamecontroller.

One nice thing about this GameShark is that you can use yourDreamcast's modem to connect to the official Web site to grab thelatest codes. Otherwise you can enter them manually. We found that theGameShark was terrific for revisiting older games we've already beaten--andeven better for blowing through rental games we had no plans topurchase. It's easy to use, and new codes are released regularly.

Special note to consumers: It has been reported that there areincorrect codes for the Dreamcast game Resident Evil: CodeVeronica installed on the GD-ROM that accompanies the firstgeneration of GameShark devices. Consumers who find that thepreinstalled codes for this game do not work should visit the InteractWeb site to obtain the correct codes. --T. Byrl Baker

    Pros:

    • Setup is easy, and it comes with plenty of codes
    • Ability to manually enter new codes means you can use this withevery game scheduled to come out for the Dreamcast
    Cons:
    • Entering codes manually is a chore
    • Some devices are preloaded with incorrect codes for ResidentEvil: Code Veronica

I bought this for the Dreamcast and thought it would solve all of my problems but really it didn't! Most of the games only have one or two cheats and those do not even help! There are only a few games that I use it for! Anyway, I would stay away from this unless you really need it!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst. Product. EVER!
Seriously, the Gameshark is NOT worth it. Although the GameShark is fun to use, it is just to dangerous. Ever since I used my Gameshark i've lost TONS of data of 1 memory card, and from what i've heard it can even Crash your Dreamcast. stay away from El Diablo and his ever gameshark of doom

4-0 out of 5 stars ...dunno if i wanna buy this...
I got my first gameshark when my playstation (dang defective lasers -_-) and it was one of the greatest things i had ever bought, until one of my files got deleted, which was partly my fault for not making a backup :(. It would be great for my dreamcast, except for the fact that the one game i would use it on (PSO, or Phantasy Star Online)i cant make a copy of!XO But other than that game, i would recomend it for any extreme gamer like myself.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
I hated it. It deleted my game and took up too much of my memory. When i tried to see what was wroung by watching the intructional video, my sega crashed and now i have to buy a new one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gun!
You gotta have this gun if your going to play Confidential Mission or House of the Dead 2. These games are a blast to play with this gun. I found the gun to be accurate (I don't think you'll find one with sniper accuracy though). The deep double barrel allows you to hold it like a small machine gun with both hands for a solid feel. Putting the memory card in eliminates the "light" feel to the gun, it even becomes sort of heavy after awhile. Can't speak for anybody else, but it has performed well for us.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great gun when calibrated correctly
Not sure why many of these reviews ar so negative, but this gun works great for me.I had to make sure it was calibrated correctly, but after that it's as accurate as any other good light gun.Must have for Confidential Mission or HOD2.

1-0 out of 5 stars Letme tell you why this gun is only...
Ok listen fellow customer reading this review. The StarFire Lightgun has some good points and many bad points. I like how it has all the features, like auto reload, single shot of course and rapid fire. They are excellent features to the gun. But the gun is not even close to accurate. When i play house of the dead 2 when a zombie is near a hostage guess who i kill. LOL! The hostage and you know why... The sight is so incredibly useless and the thing below the guns barral just makes it heavier. The accuracy will never be right so just forget it. Oh and both of my start and b buttons all came out 2 months later, every single one...The trigger is made of cheap plastic...

5-0 out of 5 stars The best thus far...
I was a little leary about purchasing this gun after reading the other comments but, I did it anyway. This gun has got to be the best item I have for my DC so far(w/ the exception of my VMU). The re-calibration of the gun gets a little tedious, yet, once calibrated you're good to go. The auto fire and auto reload seems like cheating yet, when your playing House Of The Dead 2 on the hardest level and spanking booty, you'll get over it. I've played with the MadCatz light gun before and it highly ... in comparison. Excellent price and excellent value make this gun top dog! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sega blue controller
    very good...cool color...vendor shipped UPS...classy

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent item, but poor durability
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of poor durability. I used that little hook in back of the slot which gets the cord out of the way while you're playing and the cord shorted out from bending it.I also wrapped the cord around the controller when I'm done playing so it wouldn't be all over the place in the entertainment center and that also [messed]it up.The looks are awesome.I think red is the best color.Just make sure that you don't do what I did. When I opened it up, hopping to fix it, it didn't do any good but make the buttons unlined when I put it back together.

5-0 out of 5 stars ALWAYS GO WITH SEGA BRAND CONTROLLERS !!
.... i've been playing video games for many many years (20+ to be exact), and i've learned THE HARD WAY that you should ALWAYS buy controllers that are made by the same company that makes the gaming console you're playing.....as for this semi-transparent green colored dreamcast controller, WOW it looks really cool doesn't it ??? seriously, don't EVER bother with controllers made by other companies (also known as: 3rd party controllers).....often these "3rd party" controllers have buttons that stick and feel funny and the analog thumb joysticks don't feel right or break down faster.... TRUST ME ON THIS ! If you're in need of a Sega Dreamcast controller, ALWAYS GO WITH SEGA BRAND CONTROLLERS !

5-0 out of 5 stars Make your friends green with envy :-)
I really like this color on the Dreamcast controller. It is the atomic bomb man. Grey is kind of boring, liven it up a little. Beside, I was born on March 17, St. Patrick's Day, so it has alots of appeal for me. Green means go and get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
Buy this instead of those P.O.S third party controls! This is a cool way to be creative with your system! There are 5 different colors to buy, all matching the VMU colors so it looks even better. I have a Green VMU so this is my pick. You can choose the standard Gray, yellow, red, green, charcoal (black) or blue. They are high quality, and get the controls at awesome half price of 14.99 while you can! They VMU's are 10 dollars, 15 less than the original price, so pick up a control and a VMU for the same price the VMU used to cost! Get it quick! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I have no idea what to put as the title for this review.
Much less, what to really say about this keyboard. For the second time this week, I'm stumped on a review. While the Dreamcast keyboard isn't really necessary for the typical gamer, you're going to need this thing in order to play one of the more "out-there" games: Typing of the Dead. Sure, during the Dreamcast's unappreciated lifespan, most people that bought this used it when they went online with their systems for internet purposes, or Phantasy Star Online, but Typing of the Dead really got the most use out of this accessory. While it's not one of those fancy keyboards that's curved in the middle and seperates both sides, it gets the job done. I'm able to play TotD without any problems. The buttons aren't too stiff, and the response is flawless. I'm able to hold my 120wpm rate steadily, taking out everything that walks my path. There's not a whole lot I can say about what playing with the keyboard (as dirty as that sounds) is like, so I'll just keep it short. Typing of the Dead requires it. Phantasy Star Online players would benefit greatly from it. And my hat's off to those still playing PSO on their DC. That's dedication right there.

There's no picture here, and since I don't have a camera that's compatible with this computer at the moment, I can't post a picture to show you all what it looks like. But you can easily do a search for "Dreamcast keyboard" and see for yourself. More or less, it looks like your standard keyboard. The backspace key though, is one of the letter-sized keys, and just has a little arrow symbol on it. There are also 3 "S" buttons at the bottom along with the spacebar. It also says "Dreamcast" on the upper-right side above the side-number section. There's no swirl logo, which struck me as odd since it's on every other first party accessory of Sega's. What would've been nice to add in, was a VMU slot somewhere on the bottom or on the top with an added hole for the screen or something in case you needed to see it. When I first went to play Typing of the Dead, I wasn't sure how I'd be able to save my game data until I took a chance and plugged the controller with the VMUs in the second port, and had the keyboard in the first. Sure enough, it worked. And sure enough, I could've learned this by reading the TotD instruction manual. Duh huh poridge. The cable connecting the system to the board is long enough. It's about the same length as the controller's cord, but doesn't come out of the bottom thank god. That was a problem with the DC controllers- the cord came out of the bottom of it, canceling out the maximum length. Here, the cord sticks out from the top. Oh, and if you need it, you can prop it up with the two little pegs on the back of the keyboard.

I honestly don't have any complaints. I might have if I picked it and TotD up back when they first came out, since the price was more than what I just got them for...and maybe 5 other games released here in the states system used the keyboard. It's a solid accessory worth your money. Especially now that the price for anything-Dreamcast (save Rival Schools and a few other select games) is at its lowest. Get another and kick some undead ass in TotD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Full Potential of the Dreamcast
OK, so in case you didn't know, without buying a keyboard adapter, this is the only way to interface with your Dreamcast while it is running Linux. That's right, I said LINUX on your dreamcast. And yes, it saves a bunch of time if you are using the web browser. It sounds like a lot of you aren't using your dreamcast to it's full potential. If you have:
    1. An internet connection
    2. A CD burner
    3. Nero or DiscJuggler
    4. Some basic computer knowhow, and an ability to follow instructions...
You can do almost anything with your dreamcast, including running Emulators & Roms, installing an Operating System, Playing MP3's and DIVX
    More info is on www.dcemulation.com
Have fun kids and happy gaming!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good service
    Thank you..Ecellent service,fast shipping..

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a necessary item
Nothing to get extremely excited about, after all, this is just a standard PC keyboard that's compatible with the Sega Dreamcast. How is it?Pretty much like any one of those bargain-basement Windows keyboards you find at CompUSA...key feedback is a little mushy and, well, there aren't very many games or DC applications that utilize it!

For the few people who actually use their DC for web browsing or email (poor souls), this is worth the cost.If you're gonna use it for gaming, be advised that there are only a handful of games that use it.Typing of the Dead, Rogue Spear, Quake III, Unreal Tournament and a few others, but is it worth spending [money] for an accessory you'll only use for 5+ games on a dead gaming platform? Not really and even then you'll more than likely need the mouse which is another [price] investment!

Unless you're a completist, you can get these (or the third party clones) very cheaply at [local stores].Better yet, use your existing PC keyboard with a [price] Dreacast keyboard adapter. For what it does it's good, but consider the requirements before you spend your money.

    5-0 out of 5 stars ~DC Keyboard~
I have to say that if your looking for the official SEGA keyboard to work wit the DREAMCAST browser and other SEGA NET titles this is it guys. It matches the color of the console so you guys won't be mismatching; because you know that the girls don't like that right? Now, this is an excellent keyboard it worked very well for me in Quake 3 Arena. If you guys are ever online and your losing to DVL well its me :) I bought it used at a really great price (less than 10 dollars) I recommend buying it used since the quality of the keyboard is just as good as the original. Well, good luck with your gaming guys. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars not bad, if it is your last resort
Finding a good Dreamcast controller these days is kind of rare, and finding a good Dreamcast controller for the killer fighting games for the Dreamcast is near impossible. The Dream Pad is decent. It's comfortable, and the inclusion of Z & C on the face are great, but they still are in an odd position. One can get used to it, but this would be a second choice for me, or even a third what with the now super rare ASCII Pad FT for Dreamcast (only released in the Asian market) or a Nuby Tech Street Fighter controller for PlayStation and PS2 + a 3 in 1 Dreamcast controller adapter, which accepts PS2 and Saturn controllers as well as a VMU, which can be found at some import gaming web sites. But if all that is too much a hassle for you, then what the heck, get a Dream Pad, since they will not be in stock forever.

2-0 out of 5 stars Short lifespan. Nice while it lasts.
I love the soft feel of the Madcatz Dreampad -- it's more comfortable than any other Dreamcast controller I've tried. Unfortunately, it is poorly made and lasts only a couple of months (if that) before the buttons start sticking and the controller starts functioning like crap. A real shame. Don't waste your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Nice Controller for 2D fighting games =)
Out of all the Dreamcast controller, including the original one, the Madcatz Dream Pad is the BEST controller for fighting games for two reasons - the excellent D pad and the 6 buttons layout.

    PRO:
Most of the Dreamcast controllers D pad sucks - period! The D pad for Dream pad is good - actually VERY good, almost as good as the Sega Saturn D pad (I know, Sega, what happen to the Dreamcast controller D pad??).It is very accurate and smooth. The side gripof the controller is confortable rubber and make holding on to the D pad really nice and easy.I just love the D pad on this controller.

Second, the 6 buttons lay out is almost a MUST for Capcam fighting games!!Sega MESS UP big time on the original Dreamcast controller by not putting 6 buttons lay out.It is almost impossible to play games like Street Fighter 3, or Capcom VS SNK, with any good skill since most of the require FAST all 6 buttonsaccess.I mean, how hard it is to put 6 buttons lay out on the controller?? (MadCatz did it)

    CON:
Actually, the over all feel of the controller VERY good.If there is one thing to complain, it would be the analog sticks is a little bit loose compare with original controller. However, it is not a big problem to me and it only took me a short while to adjust to it.

    OVERALL:
This is the BEST Dreamcast controller I ever used.I give it an A+++.

    (WARNING)
I just found out that There are TWO versions of the Madcatz Dream Pad.

The version 1 (only in white color) comes with a suckie RUBBER D-pad and it is not controlling well.

The version 2 (white and other color available), comes with a NEW rubber/plastic mix D-Pad and it ROCKS!!So if you are looking for Madcatz Dream Pad.Make sure you get the version 2!

4-0 out of 5 stars better then a standard
Better then a standard. Very comfortable also like it more buttons like saturn controller no offense sega .worst part the d-pad will not be a straight cross but leans to the side at that top if you hold down long. My grips havent come off. people hands that sweat like pig get this.

    Editorial Review

The first golf title for the Dreamcast, Tee Off is in the vein ofarcade-style golf games like the Hot Shots Golf series on thePlayStation. Players control big-headed, Japanese animation-style characters onvibrantly-colored 3-D courses. Shots are viewed from multiple cameraangles--including some mesmerizing aerial views--with the ball leaving a fading trailbehind it.

While Tee Off does require some basic golf knowledge, it uses astandardized control scheme which even those who've never played video golf willbe able to pick up on right away. In addition to customizable difficulty levels,Tee Off offers various modes of play, including gate ball (think croquetin cyberspace) and world tour, which rewards players' high scores by "unlocking"new characters and equipment.

Admittedly, Tee Off isn't for devotees of more simulation-oriented golftitles, as they'll probably pass it off as kiddie fare. However, casual videogolfers and those new to the armchair sport are in for one heck of a good timeon the links. --Joe Hon

    Pros:

    • Highly addictive arcade-style gameplay
    • Great replay value
    • Gate ball (cybercroquet) mode
    Cons:
    • Japanese to English language translation is weak at times
    • May not appeal to fans of more simulation-oriented golf titles

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad.
If they had real characters, I would actually rate this a 5. The courses are extremely lifelike. There should have been some unlockable courses and some easier to lock players. I hate missing the red bar on the bottom, cause once you miss it, you lose a whole stroke. But playing it is all right. Though it's not the best golf game in the world, it deserves a look at.

3-0 out of 5 stars It could be a bit more realistic!!
.... The 4 characters say the same phrases over and over and I never felt like using up my memory card to save the world tour and unlock other characters. It's not like I was gonna win, anyway. I must admit, though, the 5 courses are pretty good. Japan is easy. U.S.A. gets me in the bunker alot. Scotland has alot of precipitation variations. M y ball always goes into the red clay in Australia. And Africa has a large variety of fairways and obstacles. Gate ball isn't that great because the gates are always in the same exact spots. Other than the graphics and the 5 courses, this game could use some improvement.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not for the serious golf fan
Tee Off is a fun game but diehard fans may find it disapointing. The game is based around fun and is easy to play and to get into. There are various different modes of play which improve the longitivity of the game, so you and your friends can battle it out to see who is the best. There is also an option to unlock new characters and new equipment though getting high scores.

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of time for a Golfer
I love golf games.Golden Tee 99 and 2000 are the greatest golf games out today.I think Tee-off may be the worst. If you are over the age of 10and like to play golf, don't buy this game.If you are prone to dreamingabout playing your dreamcast and can't wait to get home to play them, don'tbuy this game! The people at Dreamcast should have have sent this gameout to pasture when the original version was delivered.Do yourself afavor, buy a football or hockey game for now, and wait until Dreamcast putsout a real golf game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Let's hit the greens!
This game is the best golf game that I have played on any platform. Some of the computer players are a little weak, but it makes it that muchbetter.

I have played this game for hours on end.The graphics are verywell done.I wish there was a better selection of players with betterskills, but that's life.Perhaps there will be a Tee-Off 2 orsomething..

I can recall many a night staying up and playing this withfriends to the wee hours of the morning.

    Amazon.com Product Description

Phantasy Star Online continues in the tradition of the popular series and is the first worldwide, online role-playing game for a console. The story revolves around the Pioneer Project, a plan conceived in response to the imminent destruction of the home worlds. Seven years prior, Pioneer 1 was sent to establish a colony on Planet Ragol, which included construction of the Central Dome. As Pioneer 2 is about to arrive with the main wave of refugees, a gigantic explosion shakes the entire planet, cutting off all communication with the members of Pioneer 1. Players from around the world must now unite via SegaNet to unravel the mystery.

In order to form parties, the game's People Finder option allows players to locate each other on giant servers. Once inside the Virtual Lobby, players can choose up to three other team members. Language barriers between players are broken down by a communication system featuring a universal icon system, preset phrases, and keyword translations. Players can create their own character by modifying their physical appearance and personality traits. Real-time combat features many of the original weapons and enemies from previous Phantasy Star games. Gamers can play completely online, completely offline, or a combination of the two. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This game is Sega Dreamcast ulimate online game.
This online game is the best. The online game go more faster. I can't wait for the Phantasy Star Universty come over for the PS2 in 2/6/2006.

3-0 out of 5 stars Phantasy Star Online
In the history of RPGs, one series has always been on the forefront of innovation. The first one helped define a genre, while the second ushered in the age of 16-bit RPGs. Now, the dawn of a new world is at hand. Sonic Team presents Phantasy Star Online, the first massively multiplayer RPG designed for a home console. Explore distant lands--with Phantasy Star Online, RPG gaming has no boundaries.

This game is worth every penny i would reconmend getting it for gamecube so you can still play online.

5-0 out of 5 stars PSO
This game is great! I see alot of people saying that without online, its no fun. You need to look around a bit. Its as simple as going on google and typing in "PSO Servers". There are MANY servers still up. Just because Segas are gone doesnt mean that you cant play online. Yes, it is pretty boring on your own, but thats why they made PSO VER 2. 4-player co-op is the fun of PSO..online but without the acctual online part.

5-0 out of 5 stars Memory Maker
There a few games that provide wonderful, enjoyable and everlasting memories. Phantasy Star Online is such a game. This game has such beautiful environments, scenery and MAG that you immediately fall in love with them.

Whenever I hear the soundtrack, I feel utter nostalgic and would recount the events in my life during my game time with Phantasy Star Online and the friendships I made online. I have nothing but the best opinions for PSO.

I only have one copy of PSO and Dreamcast. I'm keeping these for life. You can have them after you pry them out of my cold, dead hands.

2-0 out of 5 stars No online play...no fun at all
I bought Phantasy Star Online after Sega shut their servers down and never experienced the online play but from what I read it was the only way to play this game.

The graphics are good and the story could pass but the gameplay sucks if you have to play alone. I don't know why Sega put 4 controller ports on the Dreamcast if I gotta be online to experience the multiplayer aspect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply fantastic. Worth twice the price in fact
Yes, you CAN use RF Adapters instead of a switcher, but why would you? RF = lowest possible Audio and Video quality. SVHS and RCA Audio jacks = Awesome picture and sound.

I bought this because I run my games through my home theater reciever. And between me and my roommate, We have DVD, VHS. PSX, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube and XBox. We had to constantly switch the plugs in the back. This solved all my problems and it also comes with little tabs labelled "XBox" "PS2" etc, so you can label the switches to what matches. Now all my game systems only use ONE input on my reciever.

Price to Performance/Features ratio, it can't be beat

3-0 out of 5 stars Fixes sound degredation
For those of you who don't think you need a switcher, you must just have one or two systems connected to your VCR or TV.

Certainly a person can use those handy three-dollar y-connectors from any electronics store, however after your third console purchase it would have been just as cost effective to get a switch box.Especially once you daisy chain too many y-connectors and systems sound degredation occurs and you have to turn up the volume much higher than you would normally need to.

For those gamers with two stereo capable consoles, don't get something like this... it's once you get that third console that y-connectors are no longer cost-effective plus they degrade sound quality. For those gamers planning on owning more than two consoles in their future, one might as well spend a little extra money now to improve sound quality later.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't believe the bad reviews.
This is an excellent solution for people who have more than one game system to hook up.I have an N64, Gamecube, VCR, and DVD, and once I got everything hooked up, I couldn't understand how I lived without it.Yes, it's a switch box, but a well-made one.Yes, RF adapters will work, but who wants and even bigger cable nightmare?

I found this to be, as I said before, an excellent solution.

    1-0 out of 5 stars ?
I don't know why someone would need this.I have a SNES, N64, Playstation and an Atari hooked up to my TV and they're fine without a switcher.I just have to make sure I only turn on one at a time otherwise the TV gets really confused ;Þ

5-0 out of 5 stars Its a good idea but there is anoter solution
This is a good idea but all you have to do is buy rf adapters and conect them togeter and pulg itinto the antenna jack on your tv. and plug the antenna in one of the rf adapters. Thats what I do so it should work. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Two in one
Why buy this instead of Sega's Jump Pack?More memory and more power! The TremorPak Plus is much more powerful than Sega's unit and provides you with as much memory as a VMU.
I have only found two problems with this unit.First, some people (not me) are annoyed by the TremorPak.It's so powerful that they can't pay attention to the game. Also, some games won't read from the memory card in it.They will only read from the top memory port in the controller.
I think it's great and well worth the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tremor Pak Plus a good buy
Having tried both the regular Tremor pak (TP) and now, the translucent 'black' Tremor Pak Plus (TPP), there are definitely differences both large and small. The biggest difference, and the one reason why you wouldbuy the more expensive TPP is that it comes with a built in memory card! There's no screen or anything but it does add the standard VMU memorycapacity of 200 blocks.Coupled with a regular Sega VMU you have 400blocks of memory on your controller. The memory feature has its drawbackshowever.
