Amazon.com Review It's amazing that such a small machine (it's about the size of your mouse pad) can deliver such incredible performance. Chalk it up to superior engineering. Dreamcast's only downside is that it comes with only one controller and a demo disc. In order to truly take advantage of Dreamcast's capabilities, we recommend outfitting the controller with a Jump Pack and a Visual Memory Unit. Getting one or more extra controllers is also a good idea, because some of the best Dreamcast games support up to four players at once. Why it's so cool: Reviews (930)

Editorial Review The shiny box includes a videotape that shows beginners how to get themost out of the device, a GD-ROM containing the boot-up software, several preinstalled cheat codes for a variety of games, and a small"code holder" that attaches to the bottom port of your Dreamcastcontroller. To use the device, you just load the included GD-ROM,select the game you want to play from the list, and tell the GameSharkwhich cheat codes to enable. Then you simply insert the game disc whenprompted, and the cheat codes will be in effect as soon as the gamelaunches, courtesy of the little black device attached to your gamecontroller. One nice thing about this GameShark is that you can use yourDreamcast's modem to connect to the official Web site to grab thelatest codes. Otherwise you can enter them manually. We found that theGameShark was terrific for revisiting older games we've already beaten--andeven better for blowing through rental games we had no plans topurchase. It's easy to use, and new codes are released regularly. Special note to consumers: It has been reported that there areincorrect codes for the Dreamcast game Resident Evil: CodeVeronica installed on the GD-ROM that accompanies the firstgeneration of GameShark devices. Consumers who find that thepreinstalled codes for this game do not work should visit the InteractWeb site to obtain the correct codes. --T. Byrl Baker Pros: Reviews (30)

For the few people who actually use their DC for web browsing or email (poor souls), this is worth the cost.If you're gonna use it for gaming, be advised that there are only a handful of games that use it.Typing of the Dead, Rogue Spear, Quake III, Unreal Tournament and a few others, but is it worth spending [money] for an accessory you'll only use for 5+ games on a dead gaming platform? Not really and even then you'll more than likely need the mouse which is another [price] investment! Unless you're a completist, you can get these (or the third party clones) very cheaply at [local stores].Better yet, use your existing PC keyboard with a [price] Dreacast keyboard adapter. For what it does it's good, but consider the requirements before you spend your money.

PRO: Second, the 6 buttons lay out is almost a MUST for Capcam fighting games!!Sega MESS UP big time on the original Dreamcast controller by not putting 6 buttons lay out.It is almost impossible to play games like Street Fighter 3, or Capcom VS SNK, with any good skill since most of the require FAST all 6 buttonsaccess.I mean, how hard it is to put 6 buttons lay out on the controller?? (MadCatz did it) CON: OVERALL: (WARNING) The version 1 (only in white color) comes with a suckie RUBBER D-pad and it is not controlling well. The version 2 (white and other color available), comes with a NEW rubber/plastic mix D-Pad and it ROCKS!!So if you are looking for Madcatz Dream Pad.Make sure you get the version 2!

Editorial Review While Tee Off does require some basic golf knowledge, it uses astandardized control scheme which even those who've never played video golf willbe able to pick up on right away. In addition to customizable difficulty levels,Tee Off offers various modes of play, including gate ball (think croquetin cyberspace) and world tour, which rewards players' high scores by "unlocking"new characters and equipment. Admittedly, Tee Off isn't for devotees of more simulation-oriented golftitles, as they'll probably pass it off as kiddie fare. However, casual videogolfers and those new to the armchair sport are in for one heck of a good timeon the links. --Joe Hon Pros: Reviews (21)
I have played this game for hours on end.The graphics are verywell done.I wish there was a better selection of players with betterskills, but that's life.Perhaps there will be a Tee-Off 2 orsomething.. I can recall many a night staying up and playing this withfriends to the wee hours of the morning. If you are an armchair golfer, this title is for you! ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description In order to form parties, the game's People Finder option allows players to locate each other on giant servers. Once inside the Virtual Lobby, players can choose up to three other team members. Language barriers between players are broken down by a communication system featuring a universal icon system, preset phrases, and keyword translations. Players can create their own character by modifying their physical appearance and personality traits. Real-time combat features many of the original weapons and enemies from previous Phantasy Star games. Gamers can play completely online, completely offline, or a combination of the two. Reviews (78)
The graphics are good and the story could pass but the gameplay sucks if you have to play alone. I don't know why Sega put 4 controller ports on the Dreamcast if I gotta be online to experience the multiplayer aspect. A HUGE disappoitment avoid like stale toast with rotten eggs!! ... Read more

I bought this because I run my games through my home theater reciever. And between me and my roommate, We have DVD, VHS. PSX, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube and XBox. We had to constantly switch the plugs in the back. This solved all my problems and it also comes with little tabs labelled "XBox" "PS2" etc, so you can label the switches to what matches. Now all my game systems only use ONE input on my reciever. Price to Performance/Features ratio, it can't be beat
Certainly a person can use those handy three-dollar y-connectors from any electronics store, however after your third console purchase it would have been just as cost effective to get a switch box.Especially once you daisy chain too many y-connectors and systems sound degredation occurs and you have to turn up the volume much higher than you would normally need to. For those gamers with two stereo capable consoles, don't get something like this... it's once you get that third console that y-connectors are no longer cost-effective plus they degrade sound quality. For those gamers planning on owning more than two consoles in their future, one might as well spend a little extra money now to improve sound quality later.
I found this to be, as I said before, an excellent solution.

For instance, on a game like Rayman 2, the game requiresyou to use a VMU to save the memory to, it didn't recognize the saved gameI had transferred to the TPP.I had to go back to the memory manager andtransfer the files from the TPP to the regular VMU I also had attached.Soremember that once in a blue moon, a game will require you to save to a VMUcard only which means, if you only have the TPP as your only memory card, there's no way to save a game. Second of all is the vibrationfactor. Is it me or doesthe TPP feel *slightly* less powerful with thevibration factor than the normal TP?Since the normal TP is a powerhouseof a rumble pack, I would venture to guess that the vibration had to betoned down slightly so that it wouldn't damage the memory features oftheTPP.Okay, there you have it.An extra 200 blocks of memory storage andvibration power only slightly lower than the normal Tremor Pak.Overall, this is still a great buy. ...
