4-0 out of 5 stars A must for any Wallace and Gromit fan
I picked this up because I am a big Wallace and Gromit fan.(As well as the "Ratchet and Clank" style adventures.)

The game is enjoyable. You do the standard platform things of collecting items to unlock other items and puzzle solving. Not everything is straightforward.I did have some problems with the controls at first. It does have some occasional camera problems, but not as bad as some games I have played. (*cough*TombRaider*cough*)The controls are better than the "Futurama" game.

And it has evil Penguins.(Yes, Feathers McGraw from "The Wrong Trousers" is back.)

One of the items you collect are gold coins. For every ten coins you find, you unlock a special bonus movie.Wallace and Gromit fans will want the game just for that reason alone. (It was also the main reason to get the "Futurama" game.)

One thing not mentioned in previous reviews it that this game actually has the "real" voice of Wallace (Peter Sallis) and not some cheap imitation as many games do these days. This game has a great deal of input by Nick Park and the people at Aardman studios.

Some real serious work went into this game. The save game screens are incredible. (They are designed like mechanical displays.)

The music is very good.It is not just a repetition of the main theme, as some licenced titles tend to do.(In "Cracking Contraptions" (the Wallace and Gromit DVD you can't get in the US), they play the theme for every short. It gets annoying real quick.)

It is not a game for everyone. Some of the puzzles require a lot of practice.Understanding the controls is a big part of the game. Some of the more advanced abilities are not introduced until the second or third level. It would have been nice to know about them earlier.

I enjoyed it.Maybe it is just because I am a fan of Wallace and Gromit.(And evil penguins.)

It is not a great game, but it is certainly not a bad one either.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game based on a great series
Being an owner of all three of the Wallace and Gromit "shorts," I felt this a natural title to add to my PS2 collection. Just to be sure, I rented the title, and then was convinced to buy it. The game has the look and feel of the classic series (voiced by the original actors of the series), and Wallace's comments and antics throughout the game are very amusing at times, although from a strict game play sense, Wallace is more a cheerleader, as the player plays this one-person game as "Gromit." The game is easy enough for a younger player (my four year-old son enjoys this game immensely), yet challenging enough, especially in the "bonus" rounds of every level, to provide hours of gameplay for the "hard-core" gamer. The animation is cute and has the feel of the "claymation" of the original series, and the animals that the player must rescue in each level are cute, and are in no real "danger" that might frighten a younger child. The controls are straight-forward and intuitive (my 4-year old picked them up without a manual, etc.). Each of the five levels are very vast (3 sections to each level, plus a "boss level" at the end of each level). The boss levels can be difficult, especially in the last encounter. If you are a first-person shooter type gamer, or prefer more Mature or Adult type games, then this is not for you, but if you like puzzle/problem solving games with an arcade feel and nice graphics that appeal to both young and older, then you may consider this title.

3-0 out of 5 stars Hours of Frustrating Fun
While it is nice seeing Wallace and Gromit, the gameplay itself can be disappointing. In one of the levels, Wallace is supposed to follow Gromit when you complete the tasks, but Wallace would not follow. I had to save the game, shut the game system off, and restart it up again, once in the game again Wallace finally followed Gromit. Also, some tasks can be very frustrating. Some "blind" jumps must be made from time to time. One good thing, is apparently Gromit has unlimited lives! I bought this for under $10. Pay more than that and you may regret it. For a cheap platformer it is okay, don't expect more. Though, as I said, it is nice to see Wallace & Gromit in a game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good Story, Untapped Potential, Buggy Gameplay and Controls
Pros:
- maintains humor of the series: Fans of the clay-mation cartoons will find the usual sight gags and banter.
- good writing/character scripting and characterizations: The writers took the time to study the characters, and placed good healthy doses of personality into them.
- cut scenes are well animated: These maintain the overall feel of the clay-mation animations and move the story along nicely.
- save points are fairly generous: Saves are possible at any time, although progress only really gets saved at certain points. Still, they save it in numerous, decent locations.
- good story: Chock full of typical Wallace and Gromit adventure and humor as they do battle against Feathers McGraw once again.

Cons:
- Bad camera angles: As seems to be the case in a lot of "modern" games, particularly platformers, the camera is terrible, especially during boss battles. At times, you never see the enemy you're supposed to fight or the next jump point. Boss battles in particular have you looking at the enemy's feet/lower torso most of the time. The lack of any decent camera controls exacerbates the frustration.
- Figgity and questionable controls: The controls aren't responsive at all, unmatched only by the control layout scheme and economy of button assignments in oddness. The R1 and R2 buttons, for example, do the same move (crouch), and the L1 and L2 buttons do the same move (tap to center view, hold for first person view). This is wasteful, as a button to better control the camera or another special move could have been put in one of the button places. Repetitive controls are fine for a novice gamer, but more control options should have been included.
- Overly repetitive gameplay: Too many areas find the player doing the same things over and over again. Some areas seem to be there only to serve as "filler" in the later stages, where the player need only do a five second interaction with a lever to move on. This could have easily been incorporated into a cut scene, and more of that good dialog and story used.
- Buggy: Gromit wound up doing an "unscheduled" jump clear across the screen at times in my game. I bought the game new in the wrapper. I haven't read about this problem anywhere else, though, so it might be a rarity.
- Washed out graphics: I had to adjust the brightness on my television set for this game, despite games like Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Halo, and other "dark lit" games displaying fine.

Overall Score: 2 out of 5. Rent it, maybe, and see what you think, but buy something else for the money. That's a shame too, because the story is actually pretty good. The writing is pretty crisp and brimming with the humor that made the series enjoyable. In all honesty, the story would have been much better served as another episode/movie in the Wallace and Gromit series instead of this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Okay, but not great
This game is not the cute movies you see.It is okay but it has many problems including the controls and the gameplay.I would say stick to a rental on this one. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This game SUCKS!
I should of listened to the reviews on here. I dont really like games like MEtal Gear Solid and all those Ghost Recon type games because they are just too damn hard for me. I just like shooting and thats what I thought this game was, which it is. The problem is it actually gets pretty hard. There are no check points in any levels so when you die you start all the way back at the beginning and on some levels thats tough because you just barely get by on some parts. Another bad thing is you get killed very easily. Your health drops rediculously fast when someone is shooting you. Also the grenades suck. Everytime I throw a grenade it either lands just a little behind them and doesnt kill them when it explodes or they jump away from it. The first two levels make it seem like an easy game but this game soon becomes a nightmare that I really wish I didnt waste my money on.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ditch Killswitch
Darn it!I can't stop yawning from the gameplay.Let's see...shoot, hide, advance.Shoot, hide, advance.Oh yeah, then there's shoot, hide, advance. This game is so repetitive it's ridiculous.I'd rather have forked out the money to purchase the commercials advertising this game than actually playing it myself.Of course there's no save anywhere feature, so if you manage to die just before the end of the level, you get to shoot, hide, advance all over again.I'm not going to even mention the graphics.Absolutely terrible!I got rid of this cheeseball game after I finished it and traded it in for a bag of rocks because I must be a rock for buying this crap.

Still, No One Lives Forever for Playstation 2 ranks among the worst games to have great potential and produce garbage.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as it sounds!!!
I will agree that the AI in this game as well as the graphics are pretty good. But it does NOT compare to Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell because those are stealth based games.Kill Switch is almost impossible to be stealthy. There are several types of weapons, but basically it doesnt matter because they kill the same. You have a sniper rifle that its worthless because you barely see the enemy through the scope and they still shoot at you and hit you.The blind shooting "advantage" really just sucks, you couldnt hit the freakin wall if it was an inch in front you.The story in the begining looks intriguing but as the game progresses you find that its just your tipical 'Im coming to get you for revenge'.The only challenge that this game represents is to see if you can outlast 20 guys shooting at you, other than that, it doesnt require any thinking.I am very disappointed with this game and I wish I could get my money back, but I lost the receipt.

4-0 out of 5 stars The REAL Fast and the Furious
Kill.Switch is not a bad game at all. In fact it is probably one of the best shoot `em ups you can get your hands on. You play Bishop, a sort of Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake x Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher with more firepower than both combined. In fact that is what kill.switch is - one big free-for-all GUNFIGHT.

The story is actually confusing and told in flashback style (some flashback shots are cinematically realistic). Bishop is an ultra-tech Soldier and who is married to Lynn Takamura - a Neural Interface designer for some weapons tech firm. Bishop was supposed to execute a terrorist called Archer but failed. Archer came back to kill Lynn and to take control of Bishop's neural technology sending him about the globe committing terrorist acts of violence. Eventually Bishop finds a way out from Archer's control and goes to take Archer down himself.

Having said all of that, the gun fighting is first rate stuff simply because the enemy AI is the best seen in any game of its kind. The enemy is smart and moves accordingly. They will take you down by flanking you or sending a grenade in your direction. One or two hits are all it takes and you will go down. So you need to use the environment and this is where kill.switch scores in aces. As you hide behind something you can blind fire on the enemy with several different weapons to choose from or you can lean around the side, sight someone and shoot them. The detail in each level makes this one an essential purchase for the XBOX user. It pushes the PS2's graphics quite a bit (now and again the FPS stalls).

So kill.switch plays like you would expect it too - run around various levels (there are 5 major levels divided into two parts each) shooting the enemy and diving behind boxes as you blow things up. Sounds boring or unoriginal - yes, maybe - but kill.switch does it all so furiously. Once you start firing and throwing grenades and dancing about the obstacle pulling off headshots with some blind fire you will see how enjoyable all of this really can be and for that kill.switch is all golden 5 stars.

However it does have some negatives. The story is simply very hard to understand and makes no sense. The zooms are not very deep on the gun scopes meaning that you do not really get to zoom around and see the awesome sights that they have designed. It could have done with better zooms. It was absolutely terrible that they did not make more objects destructible. You couldn't even shoot up things like tables and chairs. I didn't see a single wall blow out in the game.

In the end I would not really purchase this unless you like blast em ups. If blast em ups are your thing then do not even think twice about this review. Stop now and go pick up kill.switch. It is insane live fire from start to finish. You will get a bang for your buck. However if you are looking for a game that might do something other than that (forget any type of Splinter Cell objectives or Metal Gear Solid coolness) then I suggest you go look elsewhere.

Pros:

- Furious action. Non-stop suppressing fire.
- Amazing enemy AI. The best of any game out there.
- Highly detailed graphics.
- Blind-fire. A very cool option.
- In terms of action this is what MGS and SC want-to-be but are not.
- Cuts scenes are realistic.

Cons:

- There appears to be no screen size adjustment on PS2 version.
- Runs a little slow on the PS2 at times.
- Short. Really only 6 to 8 hours of start to end game play.
- No environmental destruction.
- Extremely limited objectives.
- Story makes no sense.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent "run and gun" shooter!
Think up a cross between Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher and the aggressive firefights of Conflict: Desert Storm and what you would get is Kill.Switch! I'll be perfectly honest, this is not a game that I would be quick to drop fifty bucks on, but is an excellent rental or one to scoop up at the thirty-five or lower price range. Those who appreciate a good shooter will love this one! Gameplay is very realistic and difficult, sound and graphics are great! This is how video game combat should be, grenade a room with a frag or flash bang then come in spraying! I have found the enemy A.I. to be very challenging, attacks are very coordinated using covering fire and flanking movements. Another big plus this games got going for it is the re-use of enemy rifles (I hate it when you can't pick up the guy's gear that you just shot). Character movement is the only real problem I have with this game. The character looks great and can combat roll but looks sluggish when running, but when this is the only problem you've got an awesome shooter! You'll love it when you're running for you life from the first attack helicopter you encounter! I have never been required to use the environment so much to stay alive, it's an awesome game element and I'm shocked that no one has done this before; thumbs up to you Namco! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Quality depends on the monitor.
When I first got this, I hooked it up to my 19" monitor and tried it with Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal, and I was not pleased with the result. I don't know if it's the monitor or the game, but it looked really bad.

Then I tried it with Gran Turismo 4 on a different monitor, a 17" Philips, and it works just fine. The picture quality is as good as can be expected, and with some find tuning of ipcture size and position, it's a decent substitute for using a TV.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good solution..
If you don't have a great TV or need the space, this vga box is for you.

People will tell you that the image quality of this box is poor. What they don't realize is that this basically makes your monitor mimic a television screen. So just like a television, the closer you are too the screen, the image quality dimishes. In other words, you'll want to distance yourself from your monitor when you play games using the box, just like you would if you played video games on a normal TV. When you do this, you'll find that the image quality is pretty good (I would say a notch above S-Video) and the colors are dead on (for example, black shows up as pitch black instead of gray).
The type of monitor you have will also be a factor when it comes to your image quality. I use a 19" NEC MultiSync FE991SB that has extensive OSD (on screen display) for adjusting the screen. Since the VGA Box doesn't automatically fill out the screen with the game image, you'll need a monitor with a good OSD to do this. The best part is that the box remembers the setting so you don't have to adjust it every time you want to play a game.

My only gripes with this product is..
1. No audio cable included - For switching sound between PC and Console. You'll have to buy one on your own.
2. No vga cable included - For switching between your PC's display and your console's display. Once again, you'll have to buy one separately.
3. Lack of instructions. While everything is labeled on the VGA Box and there is a diagram on the cardboard box, theres still one port on the box in which I don't know what to do with despite what the diagram says.
4. It's not self-powered. It has to be plugged into one of your memory card slots to get it's power. I would of at least prefered an AC adapter.

Bottomline....
This is a great VGA Box for the price. Just don't expect resolutions higher than what your console achieves on a normal television just because you're using a monitor.

Personally, this is just a temporary solution for me. There are better (however, more expensive) products out there that can get the job done much better, which I will persue later on. I only got this one because I just purchased a PS2 and it was either play on my monitor or play on an old 12" TV via RF switch.

3-0 out of 5 stars Performs as promised

PROS:
Item works as promised. The unit was truly "plug-n-play" and has been compatible with the 6 or 7 games I've tried. The unit also works well with my PC speakers (although sound quality diminishes with the length of the audio cables).

CONS: After reading about these converters I had hoped to get an improved resolution on my VGA monitor over my TV. I would say the resolution is equivalent (perhaps even not a good for on screen text). Also need to provide your own second VGA cord.

BOTOMLINE: If you want a reasonably priced PS2 to VGA converter that gets the job done this is a good unit. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Carrying Crap More Like It!!
When first setting eyes on this case I was happier then a gay school boy until realizing its worthelss. Without any thoughts I bought it thinking it would be ideal for trips and long gaming ours on the road...Instead I ended the buy with turmoil. When I went to Chicago for a trip to a gaming convention I brought my Playstation 2 in the case. "Yes I can use it" I thought when unpackaging it. When I lifted the handle it instantly broke like some cheap chinese plastic. I was pissed but I still had hope. Thinking that the broken handle might have been a defect in my product I simply took the bag along. When pulling it out into my hotel I realized that it was lighter then it ever was. With a PS2 2 controllers and 3 games I thought It would be heavier. I then examined the bag closer...Hmmm it seems as if a hole on one of the side pockets had emerged. Thus I lost three of my favorite games. The hole was obviously due to cheap cloth issues that were used to make the bag. Again was angered but still stayed an optimist. Taking the bag to the convention to set up my deck (Kiosk-like booth) I sat the bag down and pulled on the zipper ever so slightly. What do you know its jammed. So I pulled a bit harder. Eventually it opened but was dissassembled from the other zipper string. "Oh Hell!!" I screamed and took my PS2 out of the bag and all the accessories and threw the bag in the trash. While coming home I put all my gear in a plastic back (Which ironically enough did not rip tear etc.). When coming back home I was dissapointed in my new carrying case inhope of a refund the dic*holes at Best Buy declined. So don't put yourself through this. If a plastic bag is more durable then the item that you are planning to buy, go for the plastic bag. This item is a piece of shi* and unless you want to spend $20 or $40 as I did then go for it. Just remember you could buy a new game and carry your PS2 in a plastic bag for only 10 cents.

1-0 out of 5 stars bad bad bad
i was walkng to my friends house when all of a sudden the seam on the bag just ripped and my ps2 broke it was actually beyond repair and lucky my parents are rich because they bought me a newone

5-0 out of 5 stars PS2 Carrying Case
I bought this case about 7 months ago and I fell in love with it.When traveling back and forth to Detroit, MI, this bag made carrying around my PS2 a breeze.Instead of tucking it away in my luggage where it might get damaged, I could keep it safe right next to me.I noticed that most reviewers said that they could only fit 4 games inside of the PS2 case.Well, I manage to fit about 8-10 if I pack my PS2 in the case just right. It's all a matter of packing. This case is also very padded and comes with a secure strap to clip it down to the main compartment.

Overall, this is the best carrying case I have ever bought.I definitely give this best a 5-star rating.

4-0 out of 5 stars imjust looking at revews
it sounds pritty good but the bad thing is it only holds 4 games (i have 18)and that was not a type problem

5-0 out of 5 stars Best PS2 Case
I first looked at this case at Electronics Boutique for $30 and decided not to buy it.I'm glad I did because I found it at Walmart a week later on sale for $15.

It's a little tight, but that's good because it won't slide around in there. It's supposed to hold 4 controllers, but I can only fit 2 in there because I have the network adaptor. But that's fine because I only have 2 controllers. It would be nice if it could hold a few more games (it only holds 4), but for $15, I'd still buy it.

I would recommend this case for anyone who doesn't have a lot of games. If you have a lot of games, controllers, and other accessories, you might want to consider the aluminum case. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work with S video connection
The Game Sound System only works if your TV has RCA connections. I own a Pioneer Plasma Display (ADX1459) with S video inputs and RCA audio inputs. I use this Display for my computer (the few games I play on my pc), TV, DVD player. The system did not work on this Display, but when I connect it to my kids 13 inch TV with RCA inputs for video and audio it works just fine. If you connect using S video connections don't bother getting this cause it will not work.

2-0 out of 5 stars Seriously
I read all the reviews above and decided to take advantage of the thanksgiving sale to buy this sound system. I've already seen really small speakers with fantastic sound and hoped this would be close to that. Well, it's not. They're not bad or anything, they're just like having 2 more speakers. It's kind of pointless, might as well invest in real surround sound. These other reviewers must have [junky] TV's to think that the sound is actually improved with this system. If you just want more speakers you can get this, but it doesn't simulate surround sound like it advertises at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars good
i was at first reluctant to buy this game, specially since it has so many bad reviews, but it works excellent for me, the sound quality is priceless, to set it up is quite easy and just takes a minute or two.
a previous reviewer said that the speakers are too close to the ps2 and generate a whole load of heat, well you can just slide the ps2 infront and then they won't be side to side.
the sound quality is unbelievable, the sharpness can leave you breathless.
i think its a good buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Crispier sound is better!!!!!!
After reading a few of the previous reviews from other
gamers, I decided to buy the Intec sound system. While playing
Capcom's recent platform title (MAXIMO), I noticed a big
difference in sound output. The game seemed livelier than before.
Crispier sound is better, I thought to myself. I also tried
Ace Combat4 on my new toy and the sounds from the aircrafts
engines were awesome.
The fact that you can also add other audio components
is definitely a plus! I recommend this system to all avid
gamers who cherish the sounds as well as the graphics of any
PS2 title! Rock On!!!!! INTEC.

1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of SH*T (would have given it 0 stars but I cant)
For christmas my parents bought me this wireless controller so right after I opened I went to go try it out. The reciever would never pick up the signal and I couldn't even get the controller to turn on. I tried putting in several different batteries and nothing. So I tried to call the company for help, of course nobody was there so I left a message and I never got a reply from them. I kept calling and leaving messages but never ever got a reply. So I returned it to the store and got a sony controller that I knew would work for 10 bux cheaper. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good for some games, but awful for sports games
After reading the reviews, I bought this controller with high expectations about its ability to replicate the experience of "normal" controllers, but without the wires. Unfortunately, the rave reviews seem to have overlooked a couple of essential flaws that make the unit somewhat useless for certain types of games -- such as sports games which require quickness and accuracy. Specifically, while the unit admirably has no lag and great range, it is also unusually slippery (due to its "high gloss" finish) and, much more importantly, its analog joysticks are not calibrated correctly. So, for instance, if you are playing a game such as Fifa Soccer that requires a lot of button pushing and quick, precise analog motion and passing, you find yourself at a loss. Because your "button hand" is sliding all over the place and none of your motions or passes are perfectly reflective of your input on the controller. For example, a run-of-the-mill upfield lob pass suddenly becomes a not so -run-of-the-mill event when the ball inexplicably flies upfield and out of bounds instead of just upfield. Or, if you are trying to thread a pass through traffic to a teammate, the path of the ball will be just off enough to cause a defender to receive it instead of your guy -- and then, to make matters worse, when you then attempt to make a tackle on the guy who got it, you hit the wrong button because your hand slipped.
All in all, I'm disappointed with this controller. And I will likely be returning it after the holiday.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great accessory!
This was one of the best accessories I purchased with my PS2.I needed a second controller, and figured I would give wireless a shot.At first I had a lot of problems with it - thinking the link was failing due to the house wireless LAN.What I determined was the TV remote controller was interfering with the receiver. For some odd reason, the IR transmissions from the remote broke the controller wireless link.Simply pressing another button on the remote allowed the wireless link to reconnect.Who knows... The solution was a small piece of electrical tape over the IR receiver.Haven't had a problem since.

I'm actually online planning to buy a second one to replace the wired controller.I highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best of the wireless
lets face it, as far as wireless videogame controllers go, it is a fairly new technology. being such a new technology, there are not many options out there. The two major brands are this controller by pelican, and another by logitech. This controller has the obvious edge for one reason alone, the size. The logitech controller is considerably larger than your average PS2 controller, and takes quite a bit of getting used to. The pelican wireless is near, if not exactly, the same size as the average PS2 controller, with a small battery pack on the back. This controller will play your game from just about anywhere you could possibly want to, from the bed, the couch, or just right in front of the TV. As for battery power, i have religiously used this controller for about 2 to 4 hours a day for 6 months now, and have yet to replace the batteries. A great buy! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars 3D Sound System
I got the 3D Sound System for Christmas, and I think it's great! It provides great sound, and you can plug another device that uses Audio/Video jacks into it, so you can play your Playstation 2 for a while, and then just switch to your Xbox for example, and play that.

Just want you to know that this is the VERTICAL version, you have to stand it upright. Instead of having all of the plugs in the sound system itself, the sound system plugs into the base, along with the PS2 and the base plugs into the TV.

I would actualy say that this toy has some educational value. I learned how I have to change the way things plug into other things to make them work the way I want to, and how to plug the speakers in the way they were suposed to.

I haven't had this product for very long, so I will not guarantee anything...

this is realy cool!works great!comes with what you see 3 speakers and subwoofr.sounds great! it even looks cool!

1-0 out of 5 stars Intec 3-D Sound System for PS-2 PlayStation
While styled nicely to match the PlayStation PS-2 game unit, the Intec system is a POOR performer. Cheap, plastic "dimestore" construction of speakers and components are first on the list, while tinny and somewhat LIMITED volume and audio are next. Only 3 controls on the front (volume, bass, and surround on/off) leave VERY little control over the audio. The subwoofer "breaks up" at anything above half-volume, and has NO real bass effect. The surround sound is more like an enhanced "spacial effect" rather than true surround. Speaker cords are WAY short of adequate to allow any true surround placement.Treble and high-end audio is uncontrolled and unpleasant ("shrill")to listen to over a long period of gameplay. This item LOOKS like it costs about $25 to make...Avoid it !!(unless you have no care about GOOD audio for your gaming...)

4-0 out of 5 stars S video vr Component Av cables
I just bought the component AV cable from a 3rd party company and already has the S/video cables (3rd party too) . I've read that AV component it's much better than S video, and tha's why I bought it. But is not!.AV component seems to be a little better than standard AV cables (RCA). S video gives an extraordinary brilliance to images. Video Component looks opaque, maybe Monster cables works better. In summary:
1- S/Video
2- AV component
3- Standar Av cables (rca)

What's your experience?, could it be 'cause they are 3rd party?

5-0 out of 5 stars perfect
it improves picture quality i'd give it a 10!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Picture but watchout! Doesn't work with all games!
S-video is better than RCA but remember that no matter what kind of S-video cable you use, they will not work with light gun games. Keep that in mind if you like games such as Time Crisis 2. If you are already using S-video and want a light gun game, a different hookup is required.

4-0 out of 5 stars good cable
I bought this cable the same time I bought my playstation2. It is a very good cable and works good. But it is over priced. The Monster s-video 300 is about the same price and delivers better picture then the sony. The sony s-video cable you are paying more for the name then any thing else. The Monster s-video 300 is the best s-video cable you can buy for ps2. It is 24kt contract then just gold plated and Nitrogen-injected for best picture. I have this cable now

3-0 out of 5 stars How to calibrate the Pelican Cobra TT
The Playstation 2 version can be calibrated if you read the enclosed instructions!

Sentitivity:Press SELECT and LEFT or RIGHT arrow simultaneously to increase or decrease steering "twitchiness"

Dead Zone:Press SELECT and UP or DOWN arrow simultaneously to adjust "dead zone"

Analog gas pedal: Press START and RIGHT arrow and GAS pedal simultaneously (if you don't do this the pedal is binary off/full on)

Analog brake pedal: Press START and LEFT arrow and BRAKE pedal simultaneously (if you don't do this the pedal is binary off/full on)

Enjoy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the best
This racing wheel isnt that great. It pauses the game when you use it for no reason. it doesnt take good turns, and the wheel lap things come out easily so you have to pause the game, fix it, and unpause it. It is definetly not worth 50 dollars, maybe just 10 dollars.

4-0 out of 5 stars You *can* adjust sensitivity
I was worried about this wheel, but it turned out to be really great, esp. for the price, once I got used to it. Most importantly, if you read the instruction manual you find that you can adjust the sensitivity, which solves the problem of what feels like a very big dead zone otherwise. The dead zone is in fact not big, but the default setting for sensitivity makes it feel that way. In fact, you can make the wheel so sensitive that you find yourself dialing it back.

I highly recommend this wheel for the casual racing game enthusiast. I've tried it so far on PGR2, RSC, and (oh the shame!) The Simpsons' Road Rage, a pretty bad game that becomes mildly amusing with this wheel :-).

4-0 out of 5 stars Cheap racing wheel for the Xbox
I found this at Best Buy for $29, and for this price, it's a steal.Indeed, you cannot calibrate the wheel, which may present some problems with some games. But with Burnout 3: Takedown, this wheel works perfectly. In fact it's as if it were calibrated for that game!It also works with Rallisport Challenge and Project Gotham Racing, but not as smoothly as with Burnout 3.My previous wheel was a Logitech for the PC and it used clamps to lock on the desk, which destroyed my nice desk. This one uses suction cups, which is better as long as you remember to reinforce the suction (by pressing down) every few minutes. The pedals work fine, too.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this cheap but fun accessory for my Xbox.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dead Zone too big - no calibration.
The hardware is nice - foam steering wheel with good feel.

Usability - that's another thing. The dead zone in the middle of this wheel is too big to control the car.I played Project Gotham 2 with this and had a very difficult time controlling the car through turns.I switched back to the analog controller and had much better results.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to calibrate this wheel.Given that, I would not recommend this wheel.

If I missed something, I am interested in how to configure but so far, I don't see anything that gives me an indication that this is a possibility. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The Vertical Stand for PlayStation2 allows gamers to display their consoles safely in an upright position. There are several reasons to do this; chief among them, limited space. It's not good to sit a console on top of a TV, as cords can hang down and block your view of the screen. And, of course, it can be very dangerous to rest a TV on top of a PlayStation2. The stand allows gamers to place their consoles next to their TVs--safely out of the way of kicks, spills, and carpet fibers. The design also helps airflow, and makes it less likely that your PlayStation2 will overheat. Plus, the stand's graduated, organic blue color complements the console's sleek black lines, and makes it look very cool. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Stand in awe of its...vertical-ness . . .
Many reviewers are right on the money with their sense of bafflement at the existence of this shiny blue and black contraption. I bought it when I had to stick my working PS2, (my first one rolled over and died), when space in my office was at a premium and since I am rather klutzy at times, anything that kept it safe(r) could only be a good thing. Except for making a vertical Playstation 2 harder to tip over, it does nothing. It looks good, it's standy-ness cannot be denied. I can't wait for the Playstation 3 wall mount adapter or the ceiling mobile adapter or maybe an attractive PS3 hat ensemble. Sony is obviously preceding with the concept of `if you make it, they'll buy it.", which leads me to the horizontal stand... a beveled piece of blue and black plastic which sits under your PS2, now that makes no sense- who would buy such a thing!?! Oh... right...

5-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Product Ever!!
Are you kidding me this vertical stand is awesome. I bought it right when it came out and I love it. The verticalness of the PS2 when on the stand just makes your forget about what your playing. Its gorgeous. I cannot describe the usefulness of this product. I can stick it into a really narrow area between a wall and a bookcase, AWESOME!! This Vertical Stand has to be the greatest of accesories out their....HAHA kidding. I hate this product. Its useless in all aspects. As if you needed to use it between a narrow space and it looks just as nice as a regular standing PS2 if not worse. However spends, I mean wastes their money on this product is a dumba*s fag*ot. Enjoy!

1-0 out of 5 stars How cheap can you get??
Came online tonight to pick up a vertical stand for the PS2 my Hubby got me for Xmas. But, come on!!!! $15.00 plus shipping and handling, not to mention any taxes? At the cost of this machine, Sony is really scraping the bottom of the capitalist barrel not including a round plastic disc with a slot or two in in it with the System. Shame, shame, I know your name!!! I'll just stand the thing between a few books or something. For $15.00 I'll be getting another game. And I will not be jumping to buy anything more from Sony, either. Feel like I am being ripped off, as in the old days when "upgrades" and new systems meant kissing all your old games goodbye!

1-0 out of 5 stars Tell Me... IS THIS A JOKE!!!
First of all, why the HELL is this thing $15 dollars PLUS tax. I have PlayStation2, and I don't generally like it. I thought Microsoft was trying to steal your money, but now this PIECE OF GARBAGE comes along and it is a JOKE. Why is Amazon selling this for $15 dollars. i got mine with my PlayStation2 and now they are selling it just to keep space. This is a total joke.

..........Now that I have cooled down, this can be space saving. If it was free, well, it would be a good buy. PlayStation2 is not THAT big, and if you don't have enough space 1)Your poor and can only put everything in one room or 2)You have those TV's which have a million plugs. That is why it gets at least two stars, because nothing is THAT bad, (well...some games and equipment have gone over the edge).

So, instead of wasting $15 dollars, go out and save up for some games. The blue color is not impressive, and it doesn't cool down and it doesn't scratch your discs. Actually, it only does one thing, wastes your money.

3-0 out of 5 stars vertical stand?
ok, fine the stand works well, and its no mechanical wonder either, and the reason i say this is because, for 7 bucks, i mean cant this piece be included with the system? i cant believe how cheap sony got, they didnt even give people this measly piece of plastic with the system...that is the only reason i give it 3 stars, i dont want to give sony more than a medium rating on a product they make just because they tried to make a quick buck from it instead of giving people a free stand with the actual purchase of their system...! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars bad product
This item is not worth the money. I got a brand new gamecube and it scraped the top of it. I was not happy. The drawers are hard to open and shut. If I was to purchase this item again I would not.

1-0 out of 5 stars OK PRODUCT BUT NEEDS SOME WORK
I just purchased this deluxe video center for my son and I have to say for the price I paid I am extremely disappointed with it.First of all when I received it the box it came in was nearly destroyed. It was so torn up I am suprised it got here at all and I was suprised nothing feel out and everything was in the box.Everything was so dirty from the box I had to wash everything before putting it together.Second, it isn't that sturdy. The sides wobble a whole lot and the shelfs also wobble and I followed the directions exaclty.I even used extra screws I had to try to make it more sturdy.Third it doesn't hold nearly all the tapes it says it will.If my son didn't like it so much and the company I purchased it from wouldn't charge a restocking fee I would send it back. The video center is a great idea and looks great in photos but after getting it, it still needs alot of work.I wouldn't waiste my money on this again.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love it
The deluxe video center is great !!It has plenty of storage for video tapes, DVDs, and CDs.It was very easy to put together. It is very sturdy if a power screw driver is used to assemble. The top shelf measures 22 inches. If your TV is wider than 22 inches, it will not fit onto the top shelf. Most 19 or 20 inch FLAT SCREEN televisions measure approx 23 inches wide. So, make sure that the width of the TV is 22 inches or less.Otherwise, it is a very good buy and very sturdy if assembled properly.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great concept...needs much improvement
First, let me start by saying that delivery took extremely long and that should not be . I needed something to help my son keep his room neat and tidy and I thought that this would help.It helped for about a minute. The concept of this unit is grand; however, it is not holding up to the demands of what it claims it can hold.I have a 19 inch TV, a VCR, GameCube, Nintendo 64, 10 VHS tapes and a few gamecube games and the unit is leaning to the side. The drawers are not closing like they should.I don't like the idea of having to drill nails straight through the plastic shelves in order to connect them to the sides of the unit. The plastic is the only thing that is sturdy, but, what good does that do you when the assembled unit is weak when it is holding the very things it was meant to hold.I have to return this to the store. It is just not worth the money I paid for it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great orginization
I have a daycare with 6 children. I have this is in the corner of the daycare room and it is just great. Holds the TV and the DVD player. plus tons on DVDs I dont even think I could own enough DVDS to cover all of the shelves in the front and on the sides. It also stores Music Cds. In the two drawers I have a playstation 2 which is neatly stored away so the younger children dont get into it. Takes up minimal space holds up to a 25 inch TV I believe. Very STURDY! As my kids have climbed it several times would not tip over Im sure. This would be great in a childs room or in a game room. I 100% recommend this ITs a bit pricey but quite worth it as it will last and last. If you do have to move this I would not take it apart ...as it might loose its sturdyness otherwise very Sturdy! ... Read more
