4-0 out of 5 stars mostly response to the xbox 360 fanboy
to make this relevant: i own the orig ps2 and love it, so therefore i would love gameplay on this. as for the differences i understand that there are technical issues but for peopl elike some of my dorm friends who only play casually and value space this is perfect (they love it).

to the xbox 360 kid review: honestly, get your facts straight before spouting nonsense like that. i wont touch the tech aspects (such as the different TYPES of ram involved in both units, the amount of vram, the teraflops they can poop out, floating point numbers, or any of that). what i will talk about is your talk of gameplay. it is true that square is departing from the ps. oh no, ffxi is coming to xbox! scary. oh wait no it's not. k i'm being a jerk, yes it's true that the games aren't going to be exclusive to ps3. however, I've got two words for you, and this is a HUGE deal in console wars: backwards compatibility. and before you spout of "the 360 is backwards compatible" it's only partially backwards compatible. on top of that the playstation line has a far larger game library to draw from.

i'm not claiming one's gonig to be better than the other, but i'm defending the ps line before people just write it off when the xbox 360 comes out this year.

and as the previous poster said, ign does NOT claim that the xbox 360 is far superior.

and also the ps2 slim is nice if you're only casually using it and need the space/decor.

1-0 out of 5 stars Should Have Been Free!!
Sony thinks that they can make up for the PS2s short-comings by releasing a new one right before the next-gen consoles are released?! This should have been exchanged for all of the old PS2s cause they break the DAY after the warranty finishes. Sony has lost yet another customer. Save your cash for the Xbox 360.

1-0 out of 5 stars Original PlayStation 2 is better
Don't buy this, the original PlayStation 2 is better than the new design.

5-0 out of 5 stars In response to "a kids review"
this "kids review" stated that ign.com said the 360 was more powerfull overall.they said nothing of the sort.in fact, with only number to go off of, ign was reluctant to call a winner.

however, if tech specs are all we have, then the PS3 is clearly the winner.pushing 2 teraflops, it's twice as fast as the 360, and boasts a GPU twice as powerful as the top-of-the-line NVIDIA GPU on the market today that usually run about $500 apiece.this does NOT mean that the PS3 will cost $1000 dollars (that would be ludicrous), but it DOES mean that it's graphics prowess will be unmatched.combine that with dual RAM of 256 each, plus a 7xCell processor (that's 7 microprocessors in one chip!) verses 360's 3 core chip, and you can start to see the advantages.add bluetooth wireless controllers (7!) and it's clearly the winner.

    5-0 out of 5 stars XBXO 1.5 vs. PS2

I don't even know if the XBOX 360 can compete with the PS2 this fall. The PS2 is releasing great games. XBOX 360 games look mediocre and not next generation.
Microsoft can release a new system ,but without games to back it up they will end up losing more money on their ambitious project.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT CONSOLE
Between the Nintendo GameCube,XBox and PlayStation 2,PS2 is the best because you can play any PlayStation 1 game(you can`t save them with a PS2 Mem. Card you need a PS1 card) you can play D.V.D.s or C.D.s you have some of the games have OL play(Online)it also has good graphics, good sound abilities and uses the PS1 controller, which is the heaviest but easiest controller to use.XBox was great for graphics, online play and that you could put your own sound tracks in some of the games.GameCube was great because it has smooth graphics, and some excellent games that all could have fun with.
PlayStation 2`s Best Selling game was 2002s Grand Theft Auto:Vice City which i have completed myself a dozen times.
PlayStation 2 has been the best of the 3 consoles and more expensive by £/$ 20-50 but its "generation" is gonna change in 2006 with the Sony PlayStation 3,MicroSoft XBox 360 & Nintendo Revolution making their debut and they will have the SpotLight and the WWE SmackDown! series(PlayStation) will no longer be officialy for PS2 or the Grand Theft Auto games unless they make one at the end of the year plus other gamesand one day PS2,XB&GC will be defunct just like the PlayStation 1,N64 & DreamCast.PS2 Will always be a fun console even though it beginning to crumble in sales and games.
psi heard there will be a The GetaWay 3 coming out on PlayStation 3(is there realy any point apart from that Sony are gunna create it).

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great as a DVD player too!
I'm gonna be completely honest. I bought this more as a DVD player than for the games! Is that weird? But it works to wonderfully, no second thoughts at all. I've had it for almost 3 years now and I love it!I do play a few games on it and have never had any problem with it's performance. It's a great item to so both. Save the $$$ and get this for both your movie and gaming needs!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Console Ever!
Playstation 2 is the best console in the world - if you don't believe me buy one and see! There are so many extras in the world of Playstation 2 like singstar, eye toy, as well as exculsive PS2 games. And there is already the newer design to the PS2, it's called the Slimline, it's the size of a DVD case, seriously. And what makes it better is that Playstation 3 will be coming out next year!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this!
The playstation 2 console is a great machine for video games... until the warrenty runs out! After that it breaks down, has disk error and everything else.Save your money and buy the XBOX 360!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars You need one.
A must have for anyone who owns a PS2, with this you can save your game files so you can continue playing. They are compact and strong. Highly recommended.

2-0 out of 5 stars Building another Terminator
Using the technology from this 8MB Memory Card (left over from the dead Terminator), you should be able to construct another Terminator robot and send it through time.

If you create a bad Terminator robot, you should definitely soup it up like the A-Team van, with some crazy special powers that will help it destroy mankind. If you create a good Terminator robot, just make it like normal (and P.S. thanks for saving mankind).

4-0 out of 5 stars good, not great
The official 8MB PS2 memory card is good if you have only a couple of games.otherwise you need to buy more than one.It is said that it runs 200 times faster, which isn't entirely accurate (usually about 185 times, but 200 is supposed to be the max).I bought this thing used for $17 dollars. That's expensive. If you have an oldr model of Playstation, it would be better to shell out $100 for Final Fantasy 11/hard drive bundle. The hard drive is 40 gigs, which is 5,120 times larger than this memory card.If you have a slim ps2, you can't use the hard drive. In that case, buy the 2 pack memory cards from Sony. It runs from $32 to $40, so get that package.Overall, a fast, reliable card, but Sony needs to produce larger cards.

3-0 out of 5 stars be aware
ill tell you it is a good memory card but over time it will erase everything if you action replay max and if you use it on the getaway game it will erase every thing so if you have it just to let you know that

4-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A GOOD MEMORY CARD
MEMORY cards are quite dear and hold 8 blocks of Memory, games like The Sims ect. take up alot of Memory space so saving other games are more difficult to save,i do Prefer The GameCube memory cards b-cs they have more space so ide often have to delete memory from Magic Gate 8MB(8 Memory Blocks) to save my newer games. The PS2 is backWards Compatible with its predcessor`s games,PS ONE wich is very useful but PS2 is a different console and PS2`s Memory Card`s can`t save any PS ONE game(and PS1 Mem. Cards can not save PS2 games)So ide recommend that if you are buying PSX games for a PS2 to buy/Make-sure you have a PS ONE memory card if you i am concidering getting a PlayStation 1 Memory Card for my PS2 so i can save these PS1 games ime concidering buying;WWF In Your House,WWF WarZone,WWF SmackDown! 1,WWF SmackDown 2:Know Your Role!(I am a WWF/WWE fan),GTA1,GTA2,Driver 1 and Driver 2 and all of these games are popular and very fun to play thats Y ime gettin a PS1 Memory Card and And these games though PS2 games are more Fun now and better graphix.Only get a 8MB card if you have&play 8 games.JOHN CENA AND RANDY ORTON are the best WWE superstasrs!!!!1 ... 3-0 out of 5 stars BIGGEST FINAL FANTASY FAN
Let me start by saying that I'm a big, big, big Final Fantasy fan. I have played and beaten every single Final Fantasy game ever made. I say this because my review of this game is not great.

    The Good:
The graphics: are great which is nothing out of this world for any final fantasy game since this series probably has the best graphics of any other.
Online: You get to interact with players form all over the world, which is a good change since you are playing with real people for a change.
Music: Also not strange that this is one of the better parts of the game.

    The Bad:
    Everything else.
The whole game is about leveling your character. And this takes so, so, so long its ridiculous.
The world is so big that getting form one place to another takes forever specially when you are in the beggining of the game. ITS HUGE.
There is almos no story line here so you will probably spend 100 hours doing basically the same thing which is LEVELING.
Once you manage to get to a decent level (45 and up) the game gets just a little intresting.
You also spend such a long, long time getting the hang of skills such as fishing, or gardening or woodworking or things like this to get other things that you then have to sell at the auction house and wait more to get money to spend on better tools such as fishing rods and then spend a lot more time doing the skill.
The most looked for character in the game in party play is a white mage but for this character, to get to a high enough level to start fighting in a party takes longer since they are not very powerful and they die easier because they don't have a lot of HP

Anyway, I could go on and on and on and on about the bad things about the game. I guess there are certain people who have the time to play this game A LOT and like the online thing. For me it just didn't do it and I would sadly have to say that this is the worst game in the series. Which still makes it much better than most other games. You have to hold it to a higher standard since it is a Final Fantasy game.

RECOMENDATION: If you are not used to online games, at this cost I recomend you find out what the game actually is by reading, asking friends or if you can by actually playing it. If you know how an online game is played such as everquest and you like it then this is a great game for you. If you like more of a story driven RPG like myself then don't for any possible reason buy this game, even if money is not an issue its just a waste of time.

I HAVE TO SAY THAT I DON'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO HOW YOU COULD POSSIBLY EVER FINISH THIS GAME. IN FACT I DON'T KNOW WHAT FINISHING THE GAME FOR THIS GAME IN PARTICULAR MEANS.

3-0 out of 5 stars *Getting Started
Well I am currently new at the online gaming deal & trying to get set up with this Final Fantasy X1.I have the Playstaion2 thick version & finding out that you need one accessory after another just to start. I had to buy the new Hardrive& Fantasy Game version than the Network Adapter & than found out in order to keep from rebooting you will also need a router which i went with a Linksky's but still waiting to get it to hook up.I give the game 5 stars cause I know the game will be worth it,but i give overall three stars due to the complexity of just getting started....

I called playstaion2 & they walked me through setting up the network adapter/Harddrive than got to the on screen keyboard & found out now i need to attach my computer keyboard to the USB port on the front of playstaion2. To my-luck my keyboard has a 6-pin din hook up and now it wont connect to the USb port, so now i am deciding between the keyboard adapters or just plain buying a USB keyboard cause the Adapters are as much as a keyboard.

Now i find it very frustrating to have to buy all this additional accessories & feel that Sony could of made this a little easier to get started but if you want to play, you have to pay and they know this....My only fear is that once i get my router I know i will be in for more problems getting it set up and working with my DSL/playstaion2 but I only hope I dont have to buy anymore accessories.....it would of been cheaper just to buy the new playstaion2 version & then the Final FantsyX1 PCversion which is what i should of done to begin with.To avoid all this non-sense..

All in all though I am looking forward to eventually getting started cause I am a "Final Fantasy" FAN & know it will be all worth it in the end....c-ya online soon

5-0 out of 5 stars Humanity is so dumb sometimes
    1. this game is fantastic (this comes from an avid player of all FF games and video games in general). This mmoRPG is more of an RPG than any other game in the FF series. You play the ROLE of a character and have complete freedom.

    2. If you didn't know there was a monthly fee, you need to READ boxes and research items beore you buy them.

    3. If 13 dollars a month is too much for you get a job...Seriously people.Even with minimum wage in this country you can make 5 dollars an hour. That's 3 hours a month and this game is payed for.You people are DISGUSTINGLY lazy!!!I don't care how old you are (I started working when i was 14).This is NOTHING in comparison to the bills you people are going to have to pay when you a. start driving b. have to pay off a mortgage or even c. pay off student loans.

    4. don't complain if you haven't played the game for more than 1 month.

    5. I work full-time and play in a band and i STILL have time to level my character and enjoy the game thoroughly.I have a LVL 42 PLD and a LVL 38 WHM (although i only play the PLD now and am considering deleting the WHM).

Anyways...yeah this game is incredible.I suggest it to anyone who has a sense of responsibilty and who would like to delve into the world of online gaming.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good, but be warned.
Final Fantasy XI for PS2 is great, especially if you don't have a powerful enough computer to run Final Fantasy XI for Windows. However just a fair warning, and this isn't really stated clearly enough: YOU CANNOT USE THIS PRODUCT WITH THE NEW SLIM PS2!! Just in case you dont know or were wondering. It is not possible to hook up the HDD to the new PS2. So if you are interested in this game, it is well worth the money, but only get it if you have an older PS2 (SCPH-500XX or SCPH-390XX).

    3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but...expensive.
This game is very fun.You can play with other people from Japan, U.S., Mexico, China, and more places in the world. If you don't want to see people from other countries, than you can just change your options.
There are four countries. They are the republic of Bastok, the kingdom of San'doria, the federation of Windurst, and the grand duchy of Jeuno.
There is racism also. The races are humes, elvaans, tarutaru, mithra, and galkas. In some of the races, you can choose to be either male or female.
There are a ton of jobs. They are warrior, monk, white mage, black mage, red mage, thief, paladin, black knight, beastmaster, ranger, bard, summoner, samurai, ninja, and dragoon. When you first start the game, you can only choose the fist six jobs. The other jobs, you must earn by doing quests.
There are some people that need help in Vana'diel.(Oh, and Vana'diel is the name of the world in which FFXI takes place at.)The people will tell you what to do.If you complete it, you will be rewarded of given nothing at all.(Don't worry! Most quests will give rewards.I only know one that does not.)The more quests you do, the more famous you become in the country and Van'diel. You're mog will even be happy.
A mog is your so-called servant at your mog hour house.Your mog house is where you live in Vana'diel. To go to your mog house, all you do is step one foot into the residential area of a country. All countries in Vana'diel have residential areas.
In FFXI, you can choose the country you want to serve as only at the beginning of the game. You choose any country you want to live at except for Jeuno. If you are not satisfied with your country, than you can apply for citizenship for a different country. You don't have to start the game all over again. For example, let's say you choose to be a mithra from Windurst. You want be a citizen of Bastok. All you do is go to Bastok, look for the federal area, and ask a lady for a citizenship application. It is not as hard as it sounds.
You need money to survive in Vana'diel. The currency there is called gil.Gil can be obtained by completing quests, selling items, or defeating specific monsters. If some players are generous, they will give you gil. That is very rare, though.
I could go on and on explaining but, there is no reason to.After a week or two, you will get the hang of it.You probably will also start making friends but, remember some stuff.

2.Watch what you say!The Fianl Fantasy XIgame board people have some people playing the game looking for any mischief. This means that some players are actually supervisors. It is okay to use mild profanity but, don't use stong profanity. If you say something unfriendly to a person and they don't show up anymore, your game might be canceled. All I am telling you is watch what you say.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ignition 2.0 Incompatible with Xbox
I've gone through three Ignition 2.0 Dance Pads with our Xbox and the down arrow eventually stops working properly. If you press the down arror while you have foot on the left or right arrow, the down arrow won't register. We've had three pads in 4 months and the same problem keeps happening.Called RedOctane Customer Support and they admitted that there is a bug with their pad and Xbox.I'm stuck because the pad is outside of the warranty period. The kids love the pad EXCEPT the down arrow.Basically, don't get this pad unless you're using PS2.BTW, Konami pad that came with DDR2 has been rock solid.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Lasted for awhile . . .
These were awesome for awhile. I have two, and one stopped working altogether within a few months and the other one sort of works. The buttons start to stick, which makes it frustrating to play when you keep getting a bad score after you know you did well. I hope they come out with something better. For a good price would be a bonus.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very poor construction results in useless product
I purchased one of these pads a month and a half before christmas as a gift.Everyone loved it at first and we purchased a second pad so two people could play at once.Within 20 days after christmas, the first pad started demonstating operation problems: buttons not functioning when pressed and buttons sticking.About a month and a half after we purchased the second one, it too started showing the same problems. We purchased these pads in large part to the excellent reviews here.Apparently, these reviews were in reaction to the version 1 pad which appears to have a much longer life.At $100 a pad, having them die within a month or two seems like a huge rip-off.100% failure rate within a few months is way too high.I'd suggest looking for another pad rather than purchasing this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't recommend for over 250 lbs. person.
This pad is great, I even bought a second one. I like them almost better than the real arcade hard pads. They have excellent response times.

The only thing I noticed is one of the pads right button doesn't work as well* anymore because one of my freinds who is 350 lbs. used it. For this reason I wouldn't recommend the pad for users near 300 lbs. However, I weight almost 250 and they haven't had a problem.

*as well meaning it still works most of the time but doesn't always respond.

5-0 out of 5 stars By far the best dance pad for the Xbox/PS2 Console!
This is by far the best dance dance revolution dance pad up to date. Its $100, so its pretty pricy, but its definetely worth it. I even think its better then the metal $500 dance pads. The reason is because no doubt, the metal dance pad is more stable, but the thing is that it breaks in a year maximum. I've had this cheaper one for about two years and it hasn't broken yet.

When you first get it, you have to put it together, its kind of like a jigsaw puzzle in some terms. It can be kind of frustrating if you have no experience in making a jigsaw puzzle, but its kind of fun at the same time. Its one of those things where your really proud of once you've made it. Its really not that hard to put together. The only problem is that some of the pieces have been mishaped a little bit in the package, so it makes it harder to put together. But at least it doesn't break apart, if it did, then that would be a reason to get the metal dance pad.

The thing that differs the red octane ignition dance pad from the other $20-$50 dance pads is that its much more stable and has more of a grip on the ground so it doesn't slide when you dance, especially when your playing on heavy difficulty, if its sliding all over the place on the ground, it can be extremely hard to use. I first got the $20 dance pad, soon to return it a week later, because i found that there was just no point in using it, especially when you wan't to play on ranked games online, the kind of dance pad that you use matters a lot.

The one only problem with this dance pad is that it only has the A and B buttons, leaving the bottom two areas blank on the pad. I think they should have added y/x or the other two buttons for the ps2 seeing that it can be used for both the xbox and the ps2. Thats another good thing about this dance pad.

The last great thing about this is that the cable cord is long so that if you have your xbox/ps2 elevated on an upper object, you can still hook this wonderful dance pad up with no difficulty whatsoever.

In conclusion, i definetely think that this is the best dance pad up to date, and will be the best quality dance pad that you will pay for.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Cordless controller
I've had this for almost a year now and I don't use any other controller but this.
Battery lasts so long - even though I let it sit there for long time and every time I come back to play, it's still good. Definitately it lasts 50+ hours easily.
This is definitely built to last. My 18month old daughter has dropped this controller number of times and it still functions 100%.
There seem to be little lag, but I can't ask for more on this great cordless controller.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best PS2 controller available.
I am huge believer in 1st party peripherals for consoles, I find them invariably higher quality and more compatible with other hardware. That said; this wireless Logitech controller is by far the best controller available for the PS2.

    Quality ****1/2 (4.5)

The controller feels great in your hands, the materials seem to be of the greatest quality. I have owned this controller for 6 months and I think that it actually feels better today than it did when I first bought it. My only gripe, and the reason for the 4.5 rating is that the D pad seems somewhat flimsy and doesn't have the solid feel of the Official Sony Dual Shock PS2 controller.

    Battery Life ***** (5.0)

Incredible, this controller takes 2 AA batteries and they last a long, long time, in fact I have logged over 100 hours in a game (without rumble feature) and the batteries are still going strong. This is in addition to about 25 hours in GT4 with the rumble feature turned on.
The manual states that the battery life is 50 hours with the rumble feature on, I think that for the first time in history, a manufacturer has low-balled the battery life of a product.

Overall, this product is a more than capable replacement for your PS2's Dual Shock controller, and it's wireless! I absolutely love the clutter that this wireless controller eliminates, and I now have great respect for Logitech products. This is THE ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE accessory for your PS2.

3-0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect!!
This is a great control, the batteries last long (I think even more than 50 hours without vibration) and it works almost perfect. I would have given a 5 star if the X bottom didn't stay pressed down (sometimes) when I am playing. Maybe is the logitech design that the X bottom doesn't work always right. The orignal ps2 control, in the right, the bottoms( square, triangle, circle and x) are on a flat surface and that's why it works great. But this logitech design, the surface is not flat that's why the bottoms don't work as good as the original ps2 control. They should design a better control, but with flat surface for the bottoms to make it as functional as the original ps2 control.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best replacement controller - cordless or otherwise
I'm glad Logitech fixed the D-pad functionality with this new controller. I had an older (corded) Logitech controller where it was almost impossible not to generate a diagonal move when all you wanted was a pure up/down/left/right input. It made fighting games and even some shooting games impossible to play. Fortunately, this model doesn't suffer from that defect. The buttons and joysticks have a good crisp feel with slightly (and I mean very slightly) more dead space under the buttons than the standard Sony controller. By this I mean that fraction of a mm that you have to push down on the button before the plastic 'cap' engages with the sensor under the button is little bit bigger. I got used to making more definitive button pushes to adjust for this.

With the AA batteries in it, this unit has got pretty good heft. It's bigger size makes it more comfortable for adult hands than the stock Sony controller. The additional weight is actually a nice feature because the controller feels stable under my thumbs without my needing to squeeze as much with my other fingers. The plastic also has some texture to it (unlike the smooth, glossy plastic on the Sony controller) that also makes it easy to hold onto. Those two features mean less hand fatigue since you don't have the grip the controller so tightly which makes for very comfortable extended gaming sessions.

I've been using mine for about a month now and have never noticed any lag or glitchiness in its response. This is a great relief to me since the room is full of other wireless gizmos like cell phones, cordless phones (also 2.4GHz) and wireless routers. Works great with the 'shooter' type of games (SOCOM, Splinter Cell, etc.) that I like to play online. The first set of batteries (included) is still going strong even with the vibration function on. This is a great controller for the PS2.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest Third Party Controller Made
I read these negative reviews on this controller, and I honestly wonder why theirs doesn't perform flawlessly like mine does. Us military guys are known to break everything and go through equipment like its nothing. I have yet to manage to break this controller or find a flaw. It's fallen from my desk countless times, I spilt a drink on it, even my rucksack fell off my bed and landed on it and there was no problem with it. As long as you maintain the batteries in it (50 hours should keep you goin for a while if you are a casual gamer, and if you're a hardcore gamer then you should be used to spending money). Another note to mention is not all wireless routers will interfere. My router is aprox. 6 inches away from my PS2 and still the controller functions as you would expect. If you need a controller don't waste time getting the sony dual shock when Logitech has a surperior pad. ... Read more

Anybody out there with a controller hog who perhaps gets your controller sticky or messy or does something to it you don't even want to know about? Different colored controllers are the key to solving this problem. Mr. Messy has his and you have yours! It works out awesome! I love my teal green controller and he loves his blue one! You also get a year warranty, which comes in the box with this controller, in between the yellow cardboard so if there is a problem with in a year they will fix your controller. Anyway it is the same size as the ones that come with your original PS2. The buttons are the same, they move the same, and feel the same. The only difference is the color, but still it's worth it to get a nice new non-sticky controller and to get your self some distance from that controller hog. I love this one, they also make a teal colored one, and I have seen a sponge bob controller out there as well but if its not made by Sony its probably not that reliable. Stick with the best, get a Sony controller and get in the game!

5-0 out of 5 stars The original
This is the original Playstation controller, and it is the best. It feels great in your hands, not too heavy, best button response, and overall just the best controller you can buy. If you have been thinking about buying a controller with a different feeling I strongly reccommend do not buy the big Mad Catz controller. It does not feel good in your hands, its too big and heavy, and the button response sucks. Just stick with the Sony controler, it is the best of the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Controller
I agree with Kelly, you must take care of the controller.I own 6 ps2 controllers 3 black,1 blue,1 wireless logitech and a nyko airflo controller.I use the multitap very often.Love the controller and it will love you back! Now for the review. This controller does not feel as comfortable as the black one. When I am playing and my hands sweat this controller slips out of my hand.I end uptaking my black controller and using it.But i love playing with this controller because it is fun for me to look at it during the loading screen. But if your hands sweat a lot or you play for long periods of time I suggest that you look for the nyko airflo controller its great!!Also I have a friend that is very rough with his controllers and he has dropped his black controller many times and it is still working but he dropped the blue controller and it broke

2-0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk..
Sony must be trying to suck up some cash from people, and they are doing that from me. These things are 30 bucks and I have bought 4 of these and they are just breaking like crazy. I guess it's a good thing i live in a family with money.. but this thing is just a cheap piece of junk that needs some improving..

3-0 out of 5 stars Too small for adults
I have a normal sized adult head, but the mic boom is far too short for me.Apparently only intended for kids.I have to shout to control the game.Tried it with SOCOM and Ghost Recon.

2-0 out of 5 stars Is this a Headset? or a Money Vaccuum
This headseet is a good accessory for going online on popular games such as Socom, Madden and Ratchet and Clank. It feels like a lazy way 4 Sony to make some extra money. Compared 2 the XBOX 1 it is a P.O.S the first time i bought this thing it looked gay so i threw it down in disgust. And it broke so i had to buy a new 1. I barely play with it because i fear i might break it. Hey Sony, heres a tip in the next PS REINFORCE THE STUPID THING WITH FRIGGIN METAL!!!!!!!! Dont just make it a plastic P.O.S!!! Sorry im such a grouch i ve had a long, horrible day and i feel like s#!t Im gonna go play some Halo now on a good headset to relax.-Forwardhaloman "This PS2 extra cheap third-party s#!t is getting pretty old. Seriously."-Forwardhaloman

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!!!
Must admit, when I first saw this headset - I thought... these are going to suck. My friend purchased one to play SOCOM 2 online. Kept telling me how cool it was so I decided to buy it.Wow, was I impressed! Communication over the Playstation 2 was excellent! (For those of you who don't know much about technology, voice over ip has always sucked because of loud noise and constant echoing with mics - very annoying! ) This is not the case with this product.

Furthermore, I use this headset to chat online on my personal computer via usb port. The Logitech PS2 headset is the best mic I have ever owned for PC use! I develop my own Flash Communication programs for online video and audio streaming and these are unbelievable.I chat with family and friends over my cable high speed connection using this product and they all hear me perfectly with very little delays or echoing.

I rated this product a 4 for durability because the headset could of been made a bit more stronger. However, they are affordable and very functional! So.. I give it a 5 star rating overall.

    NOTE.

THE RED LIGHT MEANS THE MIC IS MUTED, CLICK THE BUTTON AND MAKE SURE THE BLUE LIGHT IS ON FIRST BEFORE YOU TRY CHATTING!

THIS APPLIES TO BOTH THE PLAYSTATION 2 AND USING THE HEADSET WITH YOUR HOME COMPUTER TO CHAT ONLINE. :-)

FOR SOCOM NEWBIES, IN ORDER FOR OTHERS TO HEAR YOU IN THE CHATROOM YOU HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE CIRCLE BUTTON ON YOUR CONTROLLER UNTIL YOU HEAR A FEW BEEPS ON YOUR HEADSET. ONCE YOU HEAR THE BEEPS KEEP HOLDING DOWN THE BUTTON AND TALK ( IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO CHAT FOR 10 SECONDS BEFORE ENDING TRANSMISSION )THIS IS TO ALLOW EVERYONE A CHANCE TO TALK IN THE SOCOM CHAT ROOM.

YOU CAN ONLY CHAT WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE PROPER CONTROLLER BUTTON. AFTER SOMEONE ELSE TALKS PRESS DOWN THE BUTTON AGAIN UNTIL YOU HEAR THE BEEPS AGAIN THEN YOU HAVE ANOTHER 10 SECONDS TO CHAT .....

IF YOU CHANGE YOUR CONTROLLER SETTINGS THEN YOU MAY HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE SQUARE BUTTON AND NOT THE CIRCLE BUTTON TO CHAT.( ON A HOME COMPUTER YOU JUST CLICK TALK ON THE APPLICATION YOU ARE USING OR HANDS FREE TO CHAT WITH PEOPLE ONLINE )

    SEE YA :-)

5-0 out of 5 stars You may have plugged it in wrong
Listen to the title. The headset plugs into the BOTTOM part of the blue section in front of the PS2. I plugged it in on top once and got nothing. Then I plugged it in to the bottom and it worked fine. If you want your headset to last longer, I suggest putting it out of reach. That way no one can step on it, throw it, and hit it. You will need this when playing SOCOM II. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with the overall quality of this HDTV selector
Wow! Stumbled across this Pelican product at a local computer store.I had looked around recently for component video switchers, but had no idea this Pro System Selector existed. For $79 I had no hesitation buying immediately and bringing home knowing the store had a good return policy.Hooked it up in 20 minutes to a Pioneer 50" plasma screen with the following video inputs: 1) HD DirecTV 2) Progressive scan universal DVD player 3) REPLAY DVR with progressive component out 4) X-Box HD 5) Playstation 2 6)Nintendo 64 7) S-video Camcorder.

I couldn't be more pleased with the quick switch ability.I have tested with several Superbit DVDs before and after installation and see no visable loss in quality. Will be recommending to my friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with this product
I recently purchased the Pelican pro system selector with mini remote and am very pleased with the way it operates everything. The main reason I made the purchase (while more expensive than other switch boxes it's very much worth the extra cost)as it adds an extra 8 inputs component composite and S-video and optical inputs (3) and broadband connetors (3)..I decided to get this as I wanted more component inputs as my HDTV only has 2 as I have heard most do only come with 2 depending on the model of the tv. Installion was VERY easy no hassle I hooked up my dvd player(s) laser disc player and Xbox so far no problem with anything thats been hooked up to it.The remote comes in very handy when you want to switch machines. It does come with additional name plates (which are easy to change) but there are not enough labels for dvd or a label for misc. When the system is turned on after switching the power on the indivdual name plate will light up green.A great purchase if you want to add inputs and want to lessen the clutter than normally comes with a tv when the back inputs are filled to capacity.I think this product by pelican is worth every penny that you pay.

5-0 out of 5 stars The system selector pro is awesome!
I just recently received my Pelican system selector pro in the mail.It came with 8 component inputs, a remote control andthe other stuff like composite, s-video and ethernet jacks.I was surprised that it came with 8 component inputs and a remote because I haven't heard of anyone else getting that with their pro.I got my PL-960 pro from a different website called x10 brand new for a total of 81.99 plus the shipping and handling.I was originally expecting only three component inputs but, it came with 8.Before I got it, I had to decide which console I was not going to use to often for regular composite. You know how it goes when you are use to hd and then go back to composite. The remote that it comes with can turn it on and also change the console you want to use instead of having to get up and press the button.I'm glad I waited before buying one of these. It looks exactly the same as the other PL-960, its just that it has more functions.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great device while it worked
I could not have been more impressed with this product. Having far too many devices for my receiver, it was just what I needed, not to mention it had ethernet connectivity to. By far the most impressive features of this device are the facts that it not only has HDTV inputs, but normal analog ones - allowing me to upgrade to an HDTV at a later point and not have a large paperweight. The optical audio output is also a must.
The only thing I wished they'd included to really make this product better would be a remote to switch devices.

I bought this device approximately a year ago, and it operated fine, until the other day. At first it would not switch device, however the input it was stuck on (the first) worked fine. Within a few hours though it had completely died, and was no longer outputting a signal.

However, the device comes with a standard manufacturer warranty of FIVE years. During this time, it can be repaired or replaced for $4 of return shipping. So even if you end up like me with a faulty product, you can still get it replaced, so long as you keep your receipt.

5-0 out of 5 stars High Quality Switchbox
I had my reservations at first about entrusting my optical and component video signals to a switchbox from one of the companies generally known for cheap (and not necessarily high quality) 3rd party gaming hardware.

I had first looked to buy a receiver but most didn't have nearly as many component video and optical inputs as this switchbox. As such, I ended up opting for the switchbox and sending the optical out to my audigy 2 patch bay for dolby 5.1 decoding. This switchbox turned out to be exactly what i needed and i've been extremely pleased with its performance and the value i got for the price.

I have a dvd player, gamecube, and x-box hooked up via component video (progressive scan), optical out of the x-box and dvd, rca out of the cube. Also have an n64, sfc, and a vcr hooked up via s-video and rca. I am using mid-range monster cables and I saw no degradation of quality while using this switchbox. I am also using the unit as an ethernet cable switch between the gamecube and the x-box (coming from my router).

All in all the unit looks very sleek, it comes with many inserts for labeling your channels and they glow green when selected, and it has an input in the front as well for quick hookup of a friend's game system or a camcorder, etc..

If a switchbox is what you need don't be afraid to buy this unit, it comes with quality cables and is well worth the money for its performance. Very handy for gamers with a lot of systems but a tv without a billion inputs. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good system, not quite the best
But you can't blame Sony. A vast library of games could be found. Now they've got the new PS2. Slimmer and better than the original PS2. Speaking of original, many games began on a Playstation. Though it has longer load times compared to Xbox, it got a head-start on games. Something that makes it better than Xbox is DVD. Unlike the Xbox, you can play DVDs WITHOUT any extra equipment required. But Sony is like Nintendo and Microsoft, making their games, for their system(why not?). PSOne games can be played on it. Maybe... about 8 PSOne games aren't compatible with PS2. Sony hasn't given in though. It's still the most prefered console.

    5-0 out of 5 stars PS2 overall
For christmas about 3 years ago i got an XBOX well that night when i was playing it something went wrong it told me the controller wasnt plug in when i knew it was so i had to returned it.After that i got a new XBOX and over the time frame i had itkept saying to sendit to microsoft but i never did. so about a year ago i bought a gamecube well that thing just sucked it had no gamesi hated it. so finally about 2 months ago i traded my XBOX,GAMECUBE and GAMEBOY SP in for a PS2.And let me tell you the PS2 is the real deal this thing has so many games has no problems . Every week i go out and buy a new game and the controller is so easy to use. so if you dont know what to buy im telling you i give PS2 4 stars.

Well first of all x-box has way better graphics. but the thing that really matters is games. PS2 games to me are for five year olds. For example, Sly 2. What 11 year old kid wants to play as a raccoon? My point is that kids today are different. WE LIKE VIOLENCE!!!!!!!! So if your considering a PS2, you should think of the person who will be playing it.

5-0 out of 5 stars PS2 is simply the best!
PS2 has a massive variety of great games and amazing graphics.
You can't get bored with it.

Gamecube is simply to babyish. They try to fight Mario against Jak or Ratchet. They are simply way to overated by biased people.
All the people I know that prefer Gamecube ( and there are barely any at my school) are sad loners who like their nerdy little board games and crap like that. Their graphics are also overated. If you have found that you prefered your Gamecube to a PS2, then you really must have been playing the worst games on PS2. There are better games then Mario on the PS2 which are also 3+. I'm not allowed 18+ games like GTA but I can still find great games. I'm not biased against Nintendo because I actually prefered my N64 to my PS1 but the Gamecube just let down the whole Nintendo franchise.

I must admit that Xbox has great graphics, a great online system and even some great games, but they still simply lack that magic that PS2 has, even though it is a more powerful console.
PS2 just has some games which are exclusive, and unfortunately to Nintendo and Microsoft, are some of those games which put Sony in a better legue.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME SYSTEM EVER!!!!!
PS2 is the best game system ever. it has very good graphics and good games. its cool because of the built in dvd player. ps2 is awesome. i would definetly recommend this item. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Time
Our whole family has had a BLAST with this game! Highly recommended for the whole family, parents included. Even my Dad, age 69, grooves with it.

4-0 out of 5 stars either is good
this game is dance dance for your arms. it is fun but not too challenging. all you do is put your hand in the right shape when called. and don't belive th create your own dance thing and the calorie thing and the two player thing and the songs are reduced. tçin create a dance, you make a dance but if the game dosen't like it, it comp0letly changes giving you a
pisicly impossible routine. this feture is better in dance dance. and the two player thing is complete nonsenes seeing as how it donsen,t tell you who should hit the marker which causes confusion and possibly colission. and the calorie thing geusses homuch you lost. and if you belive it, you better have good math skills because if you don't. youn won,t be correct, eve though you'll be wrong anyway. there is so much to say but my las sentances is the stars i gave this game are sympathy stars

4-0 out of 5 stars Super fun AND great exercise!!
Eye Toy: Groove is incredibly fun!I was skeptical about how the gameplay would work until I tried it out at Best Buy and then I was SOLD!The technology is amazing, it really picks up movement well. You don't have to be able to dance in order to play, just be willing to flail your arms around like a fool.Multiple modes of play means it doesn't get too boring (although the song selection is somewhat limited - hopefully Groove 2 will be forthcoming). The songs are fun, though, not as good as Amplitude but much better than DDR.Once you get into it you can really get a great workout! Our arms and shoulders were very sore the next day, as well as our legs just from bopping to the beat.

Our only objection so far is that it seems you must enter your name after every single time you play.Since no controller is involved, you have to enter your name by waving your hands around and selecting the letters. For some reason these targets seem less sensitive, so entering your name wears you out at least as fast as actually playing. We just got the game yesterday, so perhaps we'll figure out a way around this as we keep going.

4-0 out of 5 stars Coolest thing I've ever seen!
The day Eyetoy: Groove came out I bought it! It requires hitting, waving, swiping and a lot of movment! It even has a calorie counter so you can see how many calories you have burnt! Also TWO people can dance at the SAME TIME! Here is a tip for all Eye Toy players: when it tells you what to do in the beginning push start on the controller and it will skip it!

3-0 out of 5 stars EyeToy Party! My House! Be There!
Man let me tell you how good I am at this game. I suck at DDR but man oh man I can really tear through this one like tissue paper...WORD! If you've played EyeToy Play, Groove is pretty much the beats game in it with the cds and the speakers. Its a lot harder though cause the make you do different motion other than fist fist fist fist (you guys know what I'm talking about) It got REAL SONGS and most of them are REALLY BAD SONGS!!!! I just wish there were more modes to this game, its kinda all the same. But I'm gonna go practice and the try out for the next Wade Robson Project. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars DEF. WORTH THE $$$
First off, i did not buy the Sony brand cable.I bought a Madcatz brand one for $14.99 from Gamestop (thats all they had).I bought this cable because i recently bought a new tv that supports component video. It is NOT an HDTV so i didn't expect it to make a huge difference, but boy was i surprised!Games/movies were sharper and the colors were richer.Def. a noticable difference.I can only imagine the quality you would get if you had an HDTV.

5-0 out of 5 stars 1080i in GT4, the only way is with these...
If you want to experiance something awesome play GT4 with these component video cables and your surround sound hooked up with Driving Force Pro as your controller. You can try out this setup at Best Buy right now. If you have an HDTV and you have 20 dollars by this. Regular SD games look crisper as well. You won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent! for FFXI the difference is awesome...
    Now I can say I am playing the game! the cable literally opened my eyes to the definition of the colors and images of the game... I am using a flat screen Samsung TV and game looks awesome! {Component Cable} {Can I have it?} {Yes, Please}

5-0 out of 5 stars Produces a Great Picture.
Prior to buying these component cables, I had been playing my PS2 with composite cable, connected through my VCR.The result of this: soft, muddy, and dull graphics. After purchasing Final Fantasy XI for my console, I heard quite a few times how the PC version is far superior visually.I had enough of my inferior video and audio experiences, so I purchased a new televsion, and these cables. The result: CRISP, CLEAN, VIBRANT images. The first time I turned on FFXI with these cables, the difference visually was as clear as day.The various imagery in the game, from trees, rocks, the sky, the terrain, and the characters pop out and are very well defined. They all seem to have the depth that I was missing all this time. The text present in the game has also become much clearer.I am proud to say that I can now enjoy this game at the same level visually as PC gamers enjoy theirs. My PS2 has gotten a major face lift.

    3-0 out of 5 stars AV ComponentvrS/Video
I just bought the component AV cable from a 3rd party company and already has the S/video cables (3rd party too) . I've read that AV component it's much better than S video, and tha's why I bought it. But is not!.AV component seems to be a little better than standard AV cables (RCA). S video gives an extraordinary brilliance to images. Video Component looks opaque, maybe Monster cables works better. In summary:
    1- S/Video
    2- AV component
    3- Standar Av cables (rca)

Could it be 'cause they are 3rd party. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Compact, but functional
I was looking for a way to save space on my desktop. Numeric keypads are a waste of space unless you're using a cash register but they occupy valuable space. I'd been looking for a low cost space saving keyboard but they seemed to be expensive. But then I saw this on sale. It wasn't marketed as working with PCs but I risked it anyway. It works perfectly with both MacOS X and Windows XP.

It certainly saves space. It's actually more compact than laptop keyboards. I'm used to using the Fn key to get features like 'Home' and 'PgUp' but the number and function keys are half height which makes them slightly tricky to use. But this may affect touch typists more than hunt-and-peck types like me.

Overall a great space saver for PCs but slightly cramped layout. I've not tried it on a PS2. I've no idea why it is marketed as a PS2 keyboard!

1-0 out of 5 stars Absolutley Retarted
This Keyboard is the apitimy of accesories. The overall use of this item is at an all time low. The board is made of cheap plastic and the keys are not safe to pressure. Their easy breaking habits make this keboard a death trap for small children. A waste of time to make a keyboard for a playstation 2 instaed of a computer. The small number of games one is able to play with a PS2 is very limited and the number of good games is even more scarce. The chances of you using this keyboard frequently would be close to 1 in 99999999999 trillion. I am serious the moment you open the box you wont even use this product. That is how retarted it really is!!
Don't waste your money....Instead give the money to a charity [...]

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great with Windows XP
Bought this keyboard to use at local LAN parties. It's incredibly small, but still fully comfortable for typing. The placement of some of the keys is a little different, but I've had no problems getting used to them after about a week of normal use. I have no real complaints, although I wish that Logitech had given a small amount of space between the row of function keys and the number keys. Both rows are smaller buttons and the space would have made the keys a bit easier to hit when gaming.

    Overall still a fantastic product.

4-0 out of 5 stars logitech usb keyboard for ps2
This is one of the best keyboards on the market for a reasonable price. the good thing is it size. It's small enough to fit in your lap as you send messages to your friends with the control in your hand. It works great with online titles such as socom2 and resident evil outbreak. I highly recommend this product if you play on-line a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome keyboard
This keyboard is perfect for any online PS2 game.I bought it for Final Fantasy XI and have been very happy with it.If you can afford it, though, I would recommend the Logitech Netplay thing that has the keyboard and controller in one unit so you don't have to switch between the keyboard and the controller. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good for more than just entertainment.
I've got to be honest, this game has been more entertaining than probably the last three games I've bought, not that they were bad though. The funny thing about these kind of games (so long as you're using a light gun) is that they improve your accuracy with firearms. It's no substitute for real shooting, but then again, how often do you spend hours shooting probably thousands of rounds like in these games? Now, on the game itself, the graphics are good enough, but the arcade style makes it look... well, not real. But then again that is part of what gives the game it's charm. Buy the game, and a light gun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Two words...LIGHT GUN!!!
This game is FUN, especially if you are a twitch gamer who has a few anger issues (me). The game is basically suped up duck hunt but I don't know why it is SO MUCH FUN.The story mode is great fun and can be finished in a manner of hours if you are good, the challenge mode is very challenging, the unlockable crisis mode is probably the most fun I have ever had sniping in my entire life, and to top it all off, if you have another guncon... Can you say MULTIPLAYER.Also, if you aren't aquainted with time crisis but are with other light gun games there is one BIIIIIIG difference.Instead of desperately plugging everything that moves and preying you get it before it gets you, you can hit one of the buttons on the guncon (or release, depending on your control style)and take cover behind an object nearby. But as with every game.
