5-0 out of 5 stars SNK Rocks!
This is a great game for those sick of capcom, but wanting something of similar taste. When I say similar, King of Fighters really is the king of 2D on an "old-school" note. Evasion, desperation supers, supers, combos. The problem with capcom is that they constantly add new characters. In KoF, it tends to already have a major cast of characters, which only decides on which people to put in, and should there be any changes to these characters?
This game takes it to what it is: beat the crap out of your opponent, using special projectiles/counters, combos, supers, and "normal" attacks. SNK has its own following, capcom does too. SNK just feels more original, even though they both hash out almost every year like they were sports games.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good ol' 2D Action
To start off, about the only thing that I can complain about in this 2-pak are the visuals (maybe the music too, but then again fighting games aren`t exactly praised for the music), but hey this is a NeoGeo game. If you can get past that, I think you'll enjoy this game tremendously. This is probably one of the fastest fighting games out there, esp. 2003 with the newly implemented tag team style (where you can, if you choose 3 on 3, tag one of your team mates). The better buy between the two would be 2003; it has tag team style, more responsive controls, and e legitimate storyline. With the plentiful characters to master (with some hidden one too) there is also plenty of replay value, besides the fact that this is a 2 for one.Well I don't think there is anything else to say that hasn't already been said, so FIGHT ON!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Old Style Arcade Bashing - Lots of Game for the Money
If you're a fan of fighting games, it's a great deal to get the combo pack of The King of Fighters 2002 and 2003. There are tons of characters, tons of stages, and quite interesting fighting action.

First, the gameplay. This is traditional 2D fighting where you move left and right across the screen, bashing your opponent down to zero health. Different characters have different moves and techniques. You can choose three characters to tag-team between, using each character's advantages as appropriate.

The graphics aren't of course as great as modern releases. The characters are cartooney and rather jagged on the edges. The backgrounds are mostly static, with random little movements to add some life. There are an interesting variety of them, but they are not nearly as fantastically detailed as modern games are.

The sounds are very simple. Bash. Slash. A repetitive musical score plays along with you. It has a very arcadey feel to it.

But really, you don't get this game to have a cutting edge experience. You get it for the fun history of this series, and for the down and dirty arcade fun of button mashing. You don't even really notice what the background is when you are setting up for a tag-team in for the ultimate kill.

They have a nice mix of male and female characters, something I always appreciate. I do have to say that the females seem to fall into two categories - precocious girl or big-breasted bouncy babe. I suppose sometimes progress comes slowly.

Also, the pacing is a bit uneven. You can go through several matches without any problem at all - and then slam into an enemy that seems completely unbeatable. It would be nicer for younger players especially if they ramped up the difficulty at a consistent level.

Still, this is a great combo pack to really appreciate what The King of Fighters is all about. You can probably pick it up at a discount, so grab a copy, have fun playing for hours and hours with your friends, and get to know the characters before the next version comes out!

5-0 out of 5 stars awsome
Oh Men this game is awsome cuz it has more fighters ,and is combined with new and old fighters that we have seen before and i like it

5-0 out of 5 stars King of fighters 2002, For the PS2!
This is truly what a dream match should be like.
From Neo-Geo and better to the PS2!
This game has some of the greatest KOF characters ever to be found in the KOF game and also some Console extra's.
It also has revived 3 on 3 battle but no striker system and 3D polygon backrounds that add more detail and animation to the fighting areas( But might not fit well with 2D people :-/. )
Although this game has no storyline, I will guarantee you it will be as great like the others ;-). Sure the graphics arn't a Matrimelee game or a guilty gear gamebut they have improved since that Funny show in the year 2001 ^_^.
This also has more characters exclusively for the PS2!
Of course this is the year 2004 and this game is titled
"King of fighters 2002, Be the fighter!"
It takes time and effort to create a game for the PS2.
This game has 3 fighters from KOF 96 through KOF 2001
and some official team names.
This game has over 41 characters to play as, Now this is what a real Dream match is! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Rally game out there...
I had to write a review entirely because the spotlight review was written by someone who hadn't 'got' this game or taken the time to explore the settings.

Actually, I see reviews all the time claim this game is an 'arcade' rally game, indicating that perhaps the game lacks depth, maybe has unrealistic physics, or even simple fake graphics.

All of these points are wrong. Completely false. The cars handle extremely realistically, and most folks who play this agree this is the BEST looking racer available. Better than Forza? Not sure, but better than PGR2 by a hundred - double the frame rate for start. You see, not least of which is the 60fps you get with a HD TV, but add to that the amazing reflections, muddy splashes, infinite distance view (with a tiny amount of inconsequential pop-up trees) and you have a showcase game. I've had more than one PS2 owner go out and buy an XBOX for this game after playing it in my house - testament indeed to the incredible realism this Rally racer offers.

Previously, the 'easy left' that you co-pi states was mentioned as a fault... When your rally co-pilot claims 'Easy left' or 'hard right' then you have the game on arcade setting.

A simple click in the settings would result in '3 left opens to 4' or '1 right, opens to 3. Bump onto straight through tunnel. Hairpin right' offering a much more useful, accurate indication of the upcoming road conditions.

Ultimately - this game is stunning. Worth every penny of the budget price it's currently at - if you're hesitant due to lax reviews, don't be. I've put in hundreds of hours on this amazing game and it's a real as the Xbox can get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb!
I'm not a big gamer. I've had my XBOX for over a year and it's mostly collected dust.I love driving simulation games and I think rally is the most fun of the various forms of driving so I picked up RalliSport Challenge 2 based on a day and a half long online search for a good rally game. All of the reviews said that RSC2 had the best combination of realism, fun and graphics.

They were right! The phisics model is incredible and the damage is very realistic. When you start an event, your car is shiny and new - but when you get to the end, you may be missing a few body parts, have a few broken windows and you're coverd in dust, mud, etc.Now THAT's RALLY!

Above all though is the scenery! The graphics are so good that one of my favorite things to do is to just watch the replay of the latest run!

Make you own music video! -
The folks who made this game really added a cool feature with the replay options - you have full controll over the playback speed and camera selection.Because you can load your own music to the XBOX hard drive, when the replay starts you hear your favorite music playing along with the game sounds and video of your last run.As you control the playback, you can adjust the replay speed from ultra fast to super slow motion with the trigger levers - basically making a live music video out of the replay footage!Very sweet!

Australian dirt, Swedish snow, British leaves, French cobblestone streets...
Get This Game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing game!
The detail and realism in Rallisport Challenge 2 is amazing.
From rain and mud on your windshield to the wheelspin and suspension on each racecar,no detail is left to chance.
Numerous race courses, race formats, and realistic tuning options mean you will never run out of fun.

Hands down, this is the best racing game I have seen on Xbox.

3-0 out of 5 stars RallySport1 better than RallySport2
The driving and scenes are more realistic on RalliSport2, but it's not as much fun as RalliSport1. RalliSport1 gives you better courses and better cars to begin with. It also seems like RalliSport2 takes a long time to download...more so than RalliSport1.

5-0 out of 5 stars sweet

Amazon.com Product Description

Rez, the action shooter brought to you by Tetsuya Mizuguchi (the talent behind Space Channel 5 and Sega Rally), is a fast-moving, wire-frame adventure backed by industrial beats. The story of Rez takes you deep into the world's computer network, which has recently been updated to handle the overload of information brought by the rapid expansion of the information age. The core of the new network is known as Eden, an extremely advanced artificial intelligence.

But problems begin when Eden becomes self-aware and suffers a breakdown. You must take control of the network while you manically search for Eden to bring it back online. The network was built to keep intruders out at all costs, so you'll have to fight off enemies from all sides. To reach the system's core, you'll need to shoot your way through each area and take out its specific firewall (boss) to wipe out that part of the system. By hacking the system, you'll alter the visual output and even take over the music, creating your own rhythms and eye candy as you dig deeper into the dreamlike cyberworld. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Synesthesia
Rez is a game based on the concept of synesthesia originally penned by painter, philosopher and drug addict Kandinsky.Synesthesia is when you experience one of the five senses through multiple senses simultaneously, such as seeing and feeling music, or hearing and feeling color.

Although it's an odd starting place for a video game it works brilliantly.Rez is a "stuck on rails" shooter (your character flies on a pre-determined path while you shoot things) that incorporates this concept very well.As you lock on to and shoot enemies, their explosions add to the music playing in the background and create visualizer-style effects on the screen. All the while, the controller and environment are pulsating to the rhythm of the game.

I have introduced this game to several friends of mine and they are typically overwhelmed by the experience.Couple that with the existentialist science fiction story line of the game and Rez rises to the level of art.

While the graphics are mostly simple wireframes, the integration of the audio and visual aspects of the game are beyond anything you can find in any video game.Although it's on the short side, there are a ton of extras to unlock that add lots of replay value. My brother and I already treat it like a classic, and I'm sure we'll still hook up the PS2 years from now to play it.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest games on the Playstation
Theres always that game that comes along that just amazes you so much that you want to keep on playing it. Rez is an amazing game thatmakes other shooters boring and dull.
Rez is much more than just a simple shooter,. It delivers an experience that few games deliver. Rez will stay with you long after you put down the controller, and you will look forward to your next chance at playing it. The visuals are as amazing as the audio, there is a whole lot of replay value in this game.Rez is only for a single player, but sometimes the best games concentrate on only one. It's the kind of game that can't be defined by a single genre, but ends up being a unique title that every gamer should experience.
It stands as an example of human creativity, merging with technology to produce a world that's nothing less thaamazing

5-0 out of 5 stars Save Her, Who Is Still Trapped In The System
I wrote a review previoiusly for this game, giving 5 STARS despite of its relatively short length, simply because I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been few years, and I felt like playing it again after midnight; and it's 2:20 right now.Gosh, I just can't help but to come back here again to tell you how incredible, overwhelming, nostalgic, wonderful,... I don't think any of these adjectives does justice for this needless-to-say masterpiece. I consider only two games in my life as something almost divine; Ico and Rez.

The main reason I'm writing this review AGAIN is to warn those who finished game with only first 4 areas.Yes, it's true that you can finish this game and get the ending with 4 areas. However, if you are putting this game away after that, then you are making a big mistake here. I did exactly same thing, putting it away after finishing first 4 areas, which was nevertheless exhilarating experience.

MAKE SURE TO UNLOCK THE LAST AREA, WHICH HAS TO BE THE MOST AWE-INSPIRING PART OF THE GAME, PERIOD.

I know that this game costs alot these days, however, it's worth your money especially for those who want to 'experience', not just to play video games (Dreamcast version is also available). I get soaked with this strange feeling (after finishing all 5 areas straight), which I get time to time when it triggers the human's basic intrinsic questioning of its existence; who am I? where did I come from? Why am I here? Seriously, this is no video game; its existence is beyond that. You can't help but to be immersed into the world of Rez, the world of synesthesia.

save her, who is still trapped in the system.

please.

5-0 out of 5 stars Proof that video games can be art
Even as a fan of games and a former employee of a video game company, I have seldom seen games that can conclusively be considered works of art.

This game is one of them. Don't even bother calling this game a ' on rail shooter' or what have you, this game is what it is.

What starts off as a simple shooter grows in depth the more you play. At first the game seems only to provide five levels of play, but this game awards advancement in appreciative and subtle ways. Even years after buying this game, it continues to surprise me. Numerous endings, a surprising story that at first is far to interfused to notice, new options, new modes and an intellegence that directly varies to your abilities are the great highlights.

And of course, the look.
And of course, the music.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Landmark in Games and Computer Science
When has a game been this imaginative in terms of creativity? Only Sega dares to make artsy, experimental, avant titles like this, and they succeed with flying colors. Not only is the soundtrack phenomenal, the graphics are arguably the best and most complicated on the PS2 to date. The backgrounds are basically giant oscilloscopes that subtly respond to, move and cycle effects and colors according to music and player interaction. It works so well that you don't notice it while you are playing. It's no wonder why this game was code named "The Kandinsky Project" from it's inception. Try playing it while high or intoxicated for a real good time. And try to find that "trance vibrator," (a plastic toy that plugs into the console and vibrates with the game) while you're at it.

From a computer science standpoint, this is all amazing because it is generated on the fly in real time. The graphics and effects are so complicated that the game actually ran very slowly on the original Dreamcast edition of this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Imperial Emperor only has this to say...
He who wishes to fight must first count the cost. When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be dampened. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength. Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain. Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor dampened, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue... In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.

I have only played RTK 7,8, and 9. Out of the three, I enjoy playing this game the most. Why? you may ask, here's why:
1. You can load created characters from RTK 8 and have stats of 100!!! (You can then change the name if desired.)
2. You can have up to 100 created characters in one city to begin with.
3. AI is more difficult
4. Easy to understand tuturial and manual.
That's my top three reasons for this game. I have read many articles relating to this game and have found out so much information about this game, so I have decided to write a story about it. I havent read the book yet. Whenever I have enough time to read over 12000 pages, I'll do it.
I do have a questions that I'm hoping someone will answer.
1. How do you use the "Heal tactic"?
2. Which of the foriegn tribes are the easiest to beat and how?
3. Is it possible to employ Cao Cao?
Basically that's about all the information I can provide. This is my first review, so I hope it helps someone. I do recommend this game to any statedgy lover and all RTK fans (both beginners and vets)
If there is anyone interested in reading what I have writng so far, I will be more than happy to send a copy.
My e-mail address is tashunkawitco@hotmail.com (serious inquirers only)

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm not sure what they are doing...
I will begin by saying I own every game in this series and have beat them all except this one, if you create your own leader and appoint him officers with 99 for every ability you will still get slammed over and over again by the barbarians they attack far to offen and make it impossible to build up your army, you start with roughly 7,ooo men, they start with 3oo,ooo, fair huh? Did i mention that if you defeat their units in the field you CAN'T capture there officers so thety simply suddenly appear back at there castle reload and come right back out, they should have given an option to play without them cause it seroiusly takes away from winning a battle gaining no prisoners, or winning a duel and having the officer suddenly start marching 20,ooo more men at you the next turn, the other regular cities are beatable but as far as i can tell the barbarian require cheating or unlimited man power or a miracle. i can tell in 30 or so hours is that the barbarians only attack YOU never the other cities. I tried creating my city far from them and rather than attack the several cities occupied next to them they march half way across CHINA!!! to attack me and i never even had any dialog or dealing to draw there anger, someone explain that to me... well good luck cause your gonna need it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the Most Addicting Game Ever
Anyone who thinks this game is boring or something to that degree has obviously not read the book. Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX is easily the most involving, deep and fufilling Romance yet. You start out in the fashion every ROTK and DW does, duking it out in the midst of the Yellow Turban Rebellion. If by chance you have naught the knowledge of this history event, this is the jist of it. In the year 184, the followers of a religious group known as the Way of Peace, was led by their leader Zhang Jiao into battle against the Han Dynasty and He Jin as a revolt against their corrupt ways. You can be Zhang Jiao, you can be He Jin, or you can be both. In fact, you can even make your own, original troop with created officers. Regarless, you feel more like a semi-god than the commander, considering you order all officers at all times, including the commander of your forces.

If you choose Zhang Jiao for this first feud, you're in for a pleasent surprise, your troops greatly outnumber the Han's. If you choose He Jin however, you also have an advanatage but in a different category- officer. With such elite officers as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Sun Jian, and Cao Cao you may find that as the edge to push you past the superior numbers of the Turbans. Defeat your opponent, whoever they may be, and you win.

Still, throwing a mad-rush and your opponent just won't do if you want to unify China. Draft soldiers to encrease the power of your army, but try only to draft the needed amount or a bit more- it negatively affects you repute. Then, be sure to work up your farming and trade, as well as patrol the city as frequently as possible. If you have rather few cities, it may also be a good idea to purchase food whenever the oppurtunity present itself. Then, if you have excess officers, search around the city with them; there never should be an inactive officer, or, at least there should never be nothing for them to do. Whether you do it or not is your gain or loss. And all that I just said; merely a snapshot of the incredible and involving depth of this game.

Even if you haven't read the book, if you're just looking for an exceptional strategy game this is one of the best. People may have qualms about the graphics, which are far from up to date, but as you play you realize the graphics are easily good enough, and notice the finer points of the games appearence, such as the beautifully drawn officer portraits. For any strategy fan, definately buy this game; even if you haven't read the book or don't know a thing about Chinese history. Though there's something extra knowing you're reliving history, your way.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not so great...
...but I must confess that I can't put much stock into a reviewer who took this back to get "The Suffering". I mean, are there two more different games?
However, I do agree with some of his sentiment. I think that KOEI tinkered with this series, and their changes leave me a bit baffled. Think of this as RTK stripped down. No more can you play as any character appearing in the book "Three Kingdoms"; you are now confined to play as a ruler again, harking back to RTK4 (which, incidentally, I love).
The problem with this game is resource management. The computer takes every opportunity to attack you, no questions asked. There is little diplomacy from their side; they seem indifferent to the fact that you could just as easily win battles as lose them. Any decent player will see through the tactics in a matter of a game or two, and this is bad, in my opinion. RTK VII suffered from a similar malady (in that you could essentially make your army indestructible by waiting until they attack, allowing them to take four supply depots, and finally sweeping behind them and cut their lines, drastically reducing morale). While the pattern is not the same here, it is similarly easy to wipe out the computer with good use of tactics. One perk, though, is there are many bonuses to be had by destroying the computer with a certain flair.
Also, there are some interesting additions. Most notably is the inclusion of "mini-missions" of sorts. I found some of these to be quite challenging. Many are hidden, which means you must fulfill certain requirements to open them. Probably the best change to the ruler scenarios is the real-time in which the armies move. I always found it silly in the RTK series that armies moved across China in one month, no matter how far apart the provinces travelled were. In the new installment, armies take time to move, and the further they move, the longer it takes. This is the one change that injects some realism into the game.
All in all, a pretty enjoyable title, but I doubt it will satisfy the hardcore fans. This isn't as good as RTKVIII and it certainly isn't as good as RTKIV. Have fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!!!
I was never a fan of deep strategy games, but this game had me playing it every day. The gameplay is a lot of fun and the graphics are very good. Having a huge army couldn't be more fun. There are a lot of nice strategies and plots. The only thing that bothers me is that it takes long to get your units somewhere. But that's realistic. Everything else is great. I suggest trying this game. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Why wasn't this part of the original?
I liked Samurai Warriors a lot. It was nice to basically play Dynasty Warriors with different characters for a change. It also had a few appreciated graphic tweaks and the addition of interior castle to make up for having nearly a third the number of playable characters.
Extreme Legends adds four new characters and a few much appreciated tweaks. You can have separate Mousou Bars in Co-op mode. (Thank Goodness.) and the ability to shut down the strongholds in the castle levels. (a minor tweak, but appreciated for the 60 second time boost it'll give you for the level.) And removing the experience points cap on learning new abilities. (I haven't done it yet, but it looks like you could conceivably get every ability available to each character if you wanted rather than having to pick and choose up carefully up to level 18) and a small number of new Items to aquire.

It also provides you with a Points Reward System where every time you play you receive points that can be redeemed for gameplay tweaks. (ie. character second costumes, or 5th and 6th level weapons earnable on easier difficulty settings and on up to the ability to advance characters beyond the 20th level ceiling for a million points...)

The problem is that overall, it's so kind of short on value for what it gives you (c'mon FOUR new characters!? What about a few more bodyguard models or Create Your Own...)that you end up wondering why this stuff wasn't in the original flavor to begin with. If you don't already have a copy of Samurai Warriors I wouldn't even consider this one. At least with Dynasty Warriors 4:Extreme Legends there were so many characters available and unlockable that it could have stood as a game on its own right. For this one it seems that you have to Import the other Samurai Warriors characters to play them. That just seems weak.

Another thing is that in Co-op play (this is a game that my wife and I enjoy playing together) there are some very serious issues with frame rates dropping to near standstill. (It's like doing battle in unintentional "Bullet Time" without the fun aspect of it. It's just molasses.)
Another really irksome thing is that every single time you run into a General on the battlefield or defeat one there is a cut scene where they announce themselves (or slink away or die) that just breaks whatever momentum you might be building in a bettle and rips you right out of it. (It also seems to inevitably happen right after you let loose with a Mousou attack thereby cutting it's effectiveness by half...) It would have been nice if there was someway to disable these kinds of interuptions in the Options screen.

So while I don't entirely regret getting the game since it did add a certain amount of replayability to a game that my wife and I both enjoy and can play together, I really don't think it's going to be that worth it overall to all but the most serious of Dynasty Warrior fans. I don't think it really justifies its existence or $30 price tag.

2-0 out of 5 stars Koei has lost it!
This is a rip! It is almost exactly the same thing as the original Samurai Wariors, with a few minor improvements and the playability of Honda Tadakatsu, Ina, Imagawa Yoshimoto, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. When I beat the original Samurai Warriors, I waited anxiously for the extreme legends version. When I played it, I was gravely disappointed. The only pleasable feature was the archives mode which I could use to look at the history after playing the game. There is little this has that the original Samurai Warriors does not. Koei has continually made strategy and action games, each more and more like the last about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms period in China and now action games about the post-Ashikaga shogunite period in Japan. Koei has been milking the same cow for too long! I suggest you only buy this game if you are a fanatic about the Dynasty Warriors series and/or if you do not have the original Samurai Warriors and have a burning desire to purchase this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game - but rent!
This is a good expansion for Samurai Warriors. But that's the point.. it's an expansion. You can play as four new characters and enjoy their story mode. You can also use the old characters in Free Mode, but you play in the same stages the new characters are in. The expansion is a lot of fun, but I suggest renting it, since it is too short. There are only a few new things. I suggest you first visit Koei.com and go to the official site for XL, before purchasing. Overall, I would rate the game 3.

4-0 out of 5 stars big improvement..
over the last one, 2 player musou bars, 4 new characters(Tadakatsu Honda,Ina,Yoshimoto, and Hideyoshi) you can now by any skills and never run out of money,an autobiogragphy options is now avialble, and is now easier gameplay for some people. Also with new items, new 6th weapons, newstages,no castle battles for the new stages, new two player versues modes, such as 3 againsts 3 macthesand a new mode when you can pay a blacksmith to upgrade you weaponsand each time you disk swap, everytime you go to the character selection screen a radom person will be highlighted blue to let you know that when you play with that personyou will gain extra points then usual.People who liked sw but thought it needed some improvement should really check this out and for people who already loved it will love it even more

3-0 out of 5 stars Goody...=)
Ah yes...xl...finally. Ive been waiting for awhile but its coming. ON november 11, it will come out. there are 4 new characters...hideyoshi hashiba (dancing guy...wierd), takadatsu honda(the cool guy who works for leyasu tokugawa and he has a GIGANTIC SPEAR THINGY), there is Imagawa(the crazy clown man who almost defeated oda but got his ass whooped), and some girl named emi or ina (i dont remember her name) (her weapon is a bow which she shoots and smacks with) she is retarded but that is the only bad thing! YAY!!! Is a godd game... U BUY IT!!! =) ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Ninja Turtles for Super nintendo is better than this!
Ninja Turtles Battle Nexsus sucks! The game sucks. Your moves suck and don't have anything to do with ninja turtles. Last time I checked Mikey couldn't throw a fireball. This is the worst game since Spyro Enter the dragonfly. Save your money and buy Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts rocks. Ninjs turtles 2 sucks.
ITS SIMPLE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ok
Alot of people say this is a continuation of the first game- but that's only true chronologically, since the games follow the episodes of the series. The game play in number 2 is better and less repetitive, there's better characters with alot more "mini bosses", there's more to cover and the best part is you don't have to complete each level four times character by character to actually finish the game. Also, if you feel like playing one stage without doing the whole damn level, you're free to do so.
The tournament mode is much better than the challenge mode in game one. You have more to do and the final tournament has a little story of it's own. You can also substitue turtles for other characters like Karai and Slasher (who's not part of the TV series, but kicks insane amounts of ass nonetheless). Another perk is each character has their own "special move" that charges up to deliver mass amounts of hurt on the enemy. Because it takes a while to charge and has little range, it's almost useless, but nice to have either way.
One of the greatest improvements to this game is the fact that the characters don't shout out their lines every time you move. That's right, Mickey can still hover and you don't have to hear him say "eat feet" 1000 times before he lands.
The one thing I don't like about this game is how you're graded on performance and team work after you complete each stage. It's nice to get good marks, but if I don't get an "A" in a stage, I feel obligated to go back and play until I do.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best TMNT Game Ever
I think this game is cool because It's like the Cartoon but with this game you can Raphael, Leo, Mike, and Don. Trust Me This is cool.

1-0 out of 5 stars a disappointment
the game is actually ok but i never played the first one but i bought this for the arcade game and it was Garbage with a capital G. i don't care about any other reviews on this game but the arcade game is nothing like the arcade except the gameplay and stages. i mean there's lack of sound effects,no intro,no talking, weak graphics, same annoying music every stage,etc.etc. unless you didn't grow up playing this game in the arcades ypu'll probably like it. unless konami release a greatist hits like the other smart companies with the turtles games, the simpsons, sunset riders,x-men in there true arcade form wiht 4 and 6 players and maybe with unlockable extras such as the nes turtles, contra and snes contra, and more, konami is garbage except for the metal gear games.

5-0 out of 5 stars freaken good game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely Good For Nostalgia & Why There's a Blue Screen
First off, one of the reviewers writes: "On Tempest as well as Asteroids, there's a huge blue inanimate bordor around the screen. Thus, it makes my 36 inch TV screen look like a 27 inch." There's a very simple, very good explanation for that. The games Tempest & Asteroids were arcade games, and back in the 1970s/80s, they turned the TV screen on its side... so you ended up with a shape like this:

In order to fit that odd vertical rectangle into your TV at home, without distortion, they have to fill in the left & right side with a blue border. That's not a flaw. That's the way it's intended to be (same as using bars on a widescreen movie).

.

And now for the games.I suspect this collection will only appeal to the ~50 million people who actually owned an Atari circa 1980, not the younger generation.A lot of these games are short, lasting only about 30 minutes, although they do offer infinite replayability. Also, the graphics are nothing to write home about (mostly large squares). Many of these games like Pole Position have been replaced with better, modern versions like Gran Turismo.

On the other hand, there are some true classics here that even young people might enjoy - Missile Command or Space Invaders or Asteroids - shoot, score, and try to live as long as possible. Also Pac-Man & Dig Dug.These games appeal to our natural tendency to compete, either with someone else or against ourselves, and score as high as possible.(Similar to Dance Dance Revolution in today's world.)

I bought it.I liked it.As with the original Atari console, this collection is a good way to take a break from the real world, kill 30 minutes, and have fun doing it!

4-0 out of 5 stars thiscompleats my games from when i was a kid
this compleats the games i used to play in arcades as a kid i got activision, intellevision, and nanco so this atari compleates the arcade list too bad the companies don't have these games bata tested before releasing them they would know of the problems and fix them before release or atleast giveya a sheet telling you how to fix the problems. this game is alot like the arcade feeling only you can pause it when ya need and nobody take your turn.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Scoop On Atari Anthology
This game definitely brought back memories. With all of the old Atari 2600 games like Combat, Yar's Revenge, Asteroids, Centipede, Dodge 'Em, etc., you'll find something that you will enjoy. The plus to the game I found is actually the original and sometimes annoying sounds. Now I use surround sound so I get the annoying bleeps and buzzes in full 5.1 MONAURAL sound. There is no stereo.Hey, but when we were kids, we played Atari with its vast array of 256 colors on the round screen TV with only one speaker and we were happy. The picture is standard.Exactly the way it looked in 1983 is the way it looks in 2005.After reading some of the articles I could not find anything wrong with the picture or sound that took away from the game.Chalk it up to user error.

The only thing I would fault the gameplay for is the games that require a paddle. If you love to play Pong, Breakout, Super Breakout, Demons To Diamonds, or any other game like those, your PS2 controller does it no justice. The PS2 controller either over or undercompensates your movements so the games are actually twice as hard. However, compared to the number of games you get and the fact that they all work well, I think it's an acceptable tradeoff.I enjoyed this game, and you will too!Your kids, however, will just laugh at you and call you old.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brings Me Back To Simpler Gaming Times...
Five stars for Atari finally bringing out classic games, four for layout of the menus.

The menus may be a bit confusing (The arcade ones are grouped together, but the Atari 2600 games are grouped separately), but shines overall.

While the graphics are a bit dated for today's standards (especially on the PS2), but it brings me back to the times when video games were simpler, had one or a few objectives to complete and didn't require massive polygonal graphics. While some magazines that pertain to gaming say this game (mostly the games that are Atari 2600 versions) should be

2-0 out of 5 stars Atari does NOT make a good transfer to PS2 here
I bought "Atari Anthology" primarily for "Asteroids" and "Tempest". While I must admit, it was definitely fun to see these games again, they were somewhat of a disappointment. Not that I've been spoiled by PS2's recent high tech games of 2003-04, but because the game play from this Anthology was just bad. First, on "Tempest" as well as "Asteroids", there's a huge blue inanimate bordor around the screen. Thus, it makes my 36 inch TV screen look like a 27 inch. Second, when I pressed the buttons on my PS2 controller, the games just didn't move very well for me (while playing "Tempest", the little thing you have to move around in a circle/shape is very hard to do utilizing all 4 PS2 buttons on the controller). Other games featured this useless bordor as well, and others (mostly) from the Atari '2600' system did not. The picture itself seems dull. I remember "Asteroids" being so basically simple - yet the little triangular white ship and the white boulders flying across the screen were so sharp against the black background. My 20/20 eyes don't see these shapes very sharp (almost blurry) at all on this game. The sound is also lacking... like it's totally MONO sound quality. The cover of this game boasts 85 game titles (18 of which were actually found in the arcades)... but after you play a majority of them once, I guarantee you'll probably never look at them again. Definitely a fond throw back to see games I grew up on; like "Missile Command", "Battlezone", "Red Baron", "Centipede", and even the grandaddy of them all, "Pong". However, as stated before, the game play is difficult on most, the picture quality is average at best, and the sound is poor... overall a poor representation for PS2. Looking for a halfway decent attempt to bring back some of the old classic games - check out "Museum" by Nameco (featuring "Galaga" and "Dig Dug" - both look and sound great). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars PS2 lets it down a little
Don't get me wrong. This is probably one of the best racing games you can own; the realism is unparalleled for a racing game of its kind. Just look at the replay and someone walking past the television might mistake it for the real thing, especially with weather conditions on full.

MotoGP3 for the PS2 was released before the PC release of MotoGP2 and to be honest is a let down, not because it is not a great console game, it is, but because GP3 does not live up to GP2 on the PC. GP2 PC allows you a way more views while in GP3 you can only set up two switchable views before you start the game. Although the GP3 cockpit view is mightily improved from GP2, the fact that you can only switch to two limits the racing experience. Unlike GP2 PC GP3 has no switchable camera views in the instant replay meaning you are stuck on TV mode. GP2 PC gives you all the 10+ views. So GP3 is docked a star because of these view configuration limitations. GP3 also has no training unlike GP2 PC.

However the GP3 racing engine is better than ever with more realistic tracks, more realistic driving (including simulation mode), faster bikes, improved environments, expanded multiplayer and lots more game modes than before. In terms of console bike sims, GP3 delivers in aces.

However the fact that GP2 PC is so much more makes me think that maybe GP3 will be best played on the PC when it comes. To be honest unless you are only looking for console biking get GP2 PC instead and get GP3 only for die hard fans of the series - which I am.

Great motorcycle simulator but limited when compared to its brothers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome motorcycle racing game for adults!!!!!!!!
The game is extremely realistic. The tracks are almost duplicates to the real race tracks. The bikes are great and being able to handicap players makes the playing field even.

When is Moto GP4 coming out???????I want it now!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars just a few points
This is the best selection for motorcycle simulation that I've played before, so the 4 stars is really more like a 3 1/2 stars. Everyone has brought up most of the good points like playing with 'simulation' enabled, or the AI really bogs you down. The sounds are mediocre, the the physics are as well. I wish you could 'feel' the leaning a bit better. The stoppies are fun. Some of the bonus video footage is really amateur-looking. One of the things that I love about, say, GT3 is that you can do a U-turn if you feel like goofing around. Here you can't, which is a bummer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game for motorcycle fans
We've been a fan of the MotoGP series since it first came out. The physics and graphics of the game are astounding. MotoGP3 is a worthy sequel!

You begin by customizing your character - helmet style, nationality, name, even gender. There are a variety of colors to go through. Then you get into the game itself.

For those familiar with the MotoGP series, you'll see a number of improvements here. The graphics and sounds have been tuned to be even more realistic than usual. There are now 15 real circuits plus 20 fantasy circuits on the map. There's the ability to play with up to four players, although it's done via multitap so everyone is on the same machine. Also, they've enhanced the riding to make it even MORE realistic by adding in separate front/rear braking and a front-back weight slide option. As any motorcyclist can tell you, how you shift your weight on your bike can have a huge impact on its performance.

We are in fact motorcyclists and love these games in general. MotoGP3 does a great job of offering an easy "arcade" version for those not interested in realistic handling - as well as a full "season" mode for the ones interested in a hard-core, real motorcycling challenge. There are also fun time trials and challenges to keep things interesting.

I really appreciate that there are the different modes. Some people just aren't real motorcycle fans and don't want their bike to act "squirrely" around corners. Other people actually do ride motorcycles and get upset when their motorcycle does something it shouldn't be able to.

There are many motorcycles to choose from, and different levels of difficulty. You can set the weather conditions, number of laps, even the type of transmission.

The details are just so impressive with this game. In essence they keep "revamping" the same game every year so the development team has had plenty of time to focus on those details. The tires get dirty when you ride in the dirt. The trees in the distance look like real trees. It really does feel like you're in a real motorcycle race.

The AI is much improved over earlier games. The other riders with you have their own techniques and styles. You get to recognize who you're riding against and treat them as actual characters.

While button-pushing can be fun for arcade mode, I highly recommend going into analog mode for real motorcycle fun. On an actual motorcycle, you don't have buttons, you have throttles and brakes that roll on and off. The analog control gives you far more finesse over your riding ability.

Highly recommended for motorcycle fans!

4-0 out of 5 stars whoaaaaa!!!
As soon I turned on my ps2 I just sat there with my mouth open for about 3 minutes.
If you like motorcycle games you will love this game. It is the motorcycle simulator of all times. You have a new cockpit view which makes it even more realistic. The graphics are awesome!!

Definetley buy this game, its the best racing game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tak, why have you got me hooked into your games?
Yes, I love this game so much! Play Sly 2 for four hours and
this for four hours! Tak 3 is coming out later in 2005! Now if
you like Maximo the poor loser than this will make you hate ol'
killjoy Maximo! The only levels that upset me is Silverfin River, Ballam Falls, and Pomendium Gates. So don't rent it! play
the great victory of TAK 2! I took the liberty to show you four
levels from Tak 2.

Moon Juju Interlude
Gyre Mountain
Skyrock Crater.
Pachyderm Shrine

The best thing about Tak 2 are the graphics. Tlaloc the sheep
is mad and he gets The Nightmare Scepter while you throw away
your thwark and get The Dream Catcher! Plus you get mini~games!
P.S. get a very bright memory card! You will need it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever created!!!!!!!!!
This game is great. It can get a little frustrating but over all it is a lot of fun.I really like how you can change in to a squirrel, a bore, and a frog.I really recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not easy for normal humans
Please don't listen to the opinions of hardcore gamers who say this game is "easy" and "only for toddlers".It may be easy for those who spend 18 hours a day playing video games, but for the "rest of us" it's a challenging game. The barrel ride through raging waters and over waterfalls is particularly difficult and dare I say, very frustrating.I sincerely hope your family members don't find this easy, because if they do then they are playing video games far too much.

To the gamers: get a life.To normal people: only get this game if you have a high tolerance for frustration and a strong stomach for disorienting visual images.

3-0 out of 5 stars Must have patience to play
I'm 14, and I have the orignal Tak game. I'm not done with that one yet, but I wanted to move onto this new one anyway. Overall, after a week of playing, I find it extremely difficult in some parts. It feels like they hand you too many super-hard challenges back-to-back. It gets very annoying. I do like the game, it's funny and easy to follow along, but I wish it didn't have so many difficult, hair-yanking parts to it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Frustrating game
Well we thought this would be a nice game for our kids, not gory violence, lots of fun, etc.My kids played it a few times than asked me to play because they were stuck.I got a little further, but then got to a place that is just too agravating.I would agree that the clips are funny, to a point, and I would completely agree that the controls are far too difficult and it is too easy to get stuck without any help to get out.Stay away from this game. A waste of money. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars PTO 4
I liked this game because I got to control the ships. If you are looking for a game that you comand the navy this is it. It's pritty easy, and doesn't have the best graphics, but you get to here poeple yelling, and ships blowing up. I would recommend you rent it before you buy it.

1-0 out of 5 stars this game is the worst game ever
This game is sorry you do not do any thing but sit there and move fleets of ships and sit there and watch your ships get sunk during raids. This game is not even worth a -5 stars I put one because that is the worst i could put. I hope this helps u to make your mind.

4-0 out of 5 stars Give it a chance!
This seems to be a game that people either love or hate.Is it as good as PTO II?Not even close. The main reason is the lack of ground forces. This takes away a LOT of strategy and options in the game. Also the music dosen't do much for the game like it did in PTO II.Also, the AI is seems to be much weaker than in PTO II, but it can still be a lot of fun if you're willing to look past these things.
The new menu allows you to build your warmachine and manage your resources much better than before. Also, the promotion of commanders is much clearer, and the fact that they can control individual ships is a lot better than having them control the entire fleet. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, and they fit better on one type of ship than another. Also, bringing Germany and Britain in as playable nations was a great idea. For you history buffs, there are bios on ALL commanders, ALL planes and ALL ships that tell you what they did in the war. There must be at least 50 techs that you can reasearch and a lot of planes and ship classes too. They even threw in planes and ships that never saw combat, but were planned. The Germans built 3 prototype fighters that looked earily similar to the stealth bomber.Build some of those and watch those P-51s drop like flies.
Some say this game is too easy.OK, an experienced palyer fighting with an ally can probably win the game in less than 8 months game time. But, if you want a REAL challenge, try winning the war fighting three nations.Every single decision you make MUST be the right one, or you WILL be crushed.
I bought this game aobut six months ago, and I still play it to the wee hours of the morning.I still think PTO II was the best game of the franchise by far, but I do not regret buying this game.

3-0 out of 5 stars pushing graphics, forgeting game play.
I was really blown away by the graphics in the newest version of the P.T.O. series. My first run through the game was alot of fun. Although the game is too EASY!!! I also think the depth of the previous games was not even close to being matched. To take control of a base or region in this game all you must do is destroy 1-3 air fields. NO GROUND TROOPS!!!!! So rent it for a weekend or better yet go hook up your SNES and play P.T.O. II.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad
Being a history junkie and someone who loved PTO2, I was really looking forward to this game when I heard about it.Starting off, I love the fact you can change a nation's side from Axis to Allies.I do wish there were a couple more nations to choose from, such as the Soviet Union, Australia, Netherlands or Italy (which granted their units are added as part of Germany's).I also long for some ground forces.Yes the Pacific theater was naval oriented, but without Marine units or Army units, base takeover would have been impossible in the war (in PTO2 there were ground forces but you could not control them).I'd like to see ground forces with at least some control over them.

Also, I would like to be able to give commands to each individual ship, such as in PTO2.During the war, a fleet would have a general objective but each ship could have their own targets.

As for graphics, the battle scenes are all right.Nothing to write home about. The actual images of the ships and aircraft are superb. The historical information on each ship class and aircraft and commander is a wonderful addition.

Overall, this game would get a grade of B- or C+. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars cool game
this game is better than time crisis that all i can say.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money
Boy am I glad that this was only a hire! When you've cracked a game after playing it for less than three hours you really would have to be pi$$ed off if you paid full price for it.Okay it may look pretty and it may be a decent replication of games like House of the Dead and Time Crisis but really once you've gone through and beaten the big boss what else is there to do.

Apart from the lack of longevity I have a few other complaints about the game.Firstly the shop systems, basically the point is to collect ingots of silver hidden in boxes and crates throughout the game and use them to by things like weapon upgrades extra credits and stuff. My friend finished the game and still didn't manage to collect enough silver to buy a single item! What's the point of having these things here if you don't need them or never use them?

Secondly I was a little disappointed with the graphic quality. The colours and polygons don't really seem to make use of the PS2s enhanced capability when compared to games like Smackdown of FFX.The final story sequence after you have clocked the game is particularly poor.

Overall definitely not a game you should go and buy.Your thumbs will probably never forgive you for the endless, frantic, button tapping firing off endless rounds of ammunition. Really if you want to play a game like this go to your local arcade and drop a few bucks in House of the Dead.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this game
Although short(is there really a "long" Guncom game?),this game is loads of fun and beautifully done.Worth every penny.

4-0 out of 5 stars More Gothic Gun horror
Vampire Night seems like the PS2 owner's consolation prize for not being able to play "House Of The Dead 2", but don't worry it's just as good as that masterpiece...well almost.
First of all, the graphics are fantastic, better than arcade contemporaries "Ninja Assault" and "Confidential Mission", which also have console conversions. The style is best showcased in the first chapter with some superb depictionsof winter sunlight on a frozen lake. Luckily, even players who [stink] at the game can get to see this! But the impressive visual style carries on all the way to the end, which is refreshing, as in some gun games, the levels seem to get less interesting. Maybe the designers feel that most players will never get any further than the first stage when playing in the arcade, so they don't feel it's worth the extra effort!! The enemies and townsfolk are also realistic and well animated, and the design of the Vampire's castle is fantastic, full of grandiose chambers, giant towers and lofty walkways, all depicted in elaborate detail.
So, what about gameplay? Well, its all pretty standard, and if anything, its an easier game than HOTD2, so you could be facing the final showdown after not too many attempts. But the boss battles are better, because they display an "attack bar" as well as a life bar for the boss, so you can see how close you are to being lamped, and can blast accordingly. Some of the bosses, especially the first, come in more than one stage, often morphing into a different shape during the fight. The first boss is a particulary impressive encounter, with three entirely seperate phases to play through - a great idea. On the downside, there are fewer alternate routes through the game, which is a pity. Of course, the extra modes are usually what makes a lightgun game live or die in the console market, and I quite enjoyed those on offer here. The training sesion is, as seems to be the standard now, horrendously difficult, much harder than the game itself, so plenty of challenge there. And the Mission mode gives you a special objective to look out for each time you play through the story, such as finding lost treaure, or opening secret doors that do not appear in Arcade mode, so that can be fun too, as there are around 20 different missions to complete. Plus, you trade the special items forund in this mode at a shop, and can buy power ups and attachments with money earned. There's even a gallery of artwork and character biographies to browse through.
To sum up, "Vampire Night" is a slick and polished lightgun game that lives up to it's expectations, and a good alterantive to "House of the Dead 2", so fans of the genre will be very happy with it. It's just a shame that only Dreamcast owners can enjoy the very best of the lot

Features

 • Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII includes a multitude of new features that will make it the finest game of its kind.
 • The series continues to evolve and bring each character vividly to life by giving players complete control of interpersonal affairs. While depicting historically significant relationships, such as the brotherhood between Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, or the bitter animosity between Ma Chao and Cao Cao, the game allows players to create new bonds between characters, with new commands such as Marriage and Sworn Brother.
 • Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII empowers gamers with the ability to play as any of the games 711 officers, 100 of which are original characters that can be created by the player. For the first time in the series, Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII introduces a multi-character system using all of the games officers. This system allows gamers the option of playing up to eight characters within a single game.
 • Each charactere is part of an alliance, nearly all forces can engage in a single battle, regardless of where their power bases are situated. This allows the most prestigious officers from each force to meet each other on the same battlefield. Consequently, power and spheres of influence can change at any moment. The outcome of events will never be completely clear until the end, even if one dominant force emerges midway through the game.
 • The lynchpin of any historical simulation game is the battle scene. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII, field and siege fighting have been combined into a single process. Now the player can decide whether to gradually advance their army, bypass hostile forces, or attack an enemy fortress in one swift move. Battle sequences now require moment-to-moment decision-making. Players must carefully consider the terrain, field of view, unit types and war council advisories as the battlefield situat

5-0 out of 5 stars Best strategy I've played!
This game rocks! I got it from santa because I played A Dw game before.

In this game you basically get to Qonquer and control land and make a Empire.Which may sound dumb but it is cooool. It is also very historical.(For you parents out there.) Get this Game Now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Top of the world, Ma !!
This version of RTK is the best by far in my opinion. To do away with all the melodrama of other critics...this is one is the most versatile of all the series. The "growing pains" of your created character are directly impacted within the RTK world you play in. Lets be for real, what are the chances of a 90 rated free officer offering his services to a new jack?

The concept of getting to know an free officer and building relations was great. The battle scenarios and help/ tutilage through the different characters is another plus. Lastly, the concept of 'observing' first to increase productivity is even greater.

This is the collectors edition for the RTKer who wants to experience true and thorough gameplay.

5-0 out of 5 stars Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII
This game could be the best strategy game I have ever played. There is a lot of in-depth political strategies that only get more complicated the higher up the food chain your characters get.I'm guessing that if you looked this game up that you know at least a bit about the series, and that this is the best of the series, though I am yet to play Romance 9.I highly suggest picking it up if you get the chance, and if you really, REALLY like political strategy games.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Best Koei Game Ever!!!
The reaon I like this game is because, you get to wander, enlist, revolt,or unify China!!!When I first got a look at the game,I couldn't take my eyes off of it.You could choose to be a commander,a prefect,a warlord,or you could follow your dreams.I'm saving up my money to buy the game.I can't wait until Christmas than I can play all day long!!!! And like the game says,"Brave souls,Came forth"!

4-0 out of 5 stars ROTK VIII Review
I have been playing the ROTK games by Koei for several years. And every single time Koei does a terrific job, of adding just enough new aspects to the game play to make me come back for each new installment. If you are new to the series or to Koei games in general, this may not be the best place to start.I myself would recommend starting with more popular, more ACTION-based games by Koei. The first place to go for this is the Dynasty Warriors series. After playing this game, which is based on a Three Kingdoms platform as well, and you like or are interested in learning more about the Three Kingdoms, then play the Romance series games.Dynasty Warriors is far more attention getting and far less involved.Romance on the other hand is all strategy. If planning is your forte then check these games out.DW (Dynasty Warriors) are the types of games anyone can pick-up, spend 10 minutes playing and like.Romance forces you to get involved and take time to truly enjoy the game.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Worst Game Ever!!!!!!!!
This game was terrible because it does not have a lot of things to do.Another reason I didn't like this game was because it is not exciting at all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unhappy

I bought this game for my eight and five year old, after we saw the movie. I wish that I would have waited to read some reviews on the game before we purchased it.It was too hard for my boys to play. They loved the movie, and they love robots. However, they both got bored very quickly with this game.My kid's friends also don't seem to play this one very long either. It was not worth our money. My boys have enjoyed the wratchet and clank games a lot.My older son really likes the spongebob games. I would try those and skip this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Really fun but still rent it to see if you like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Fun for All Singers
If you think of Karaoke as a bad bar game, think again! With your XBox not only can you have amazing fun with yourself and friends, but you actually learn to be a better singer!

My boyfriend is in a band, and was in a choir for my entire school career. I never was much of a fan of karaoke, though. So it was with trepidation that I gave this game a try. It comes complete with a microphone and 50 songs for you to sing along with. The mix is a great cross section of old and new, from "When a Man Loves a Woman" to "Complicated". There are single player, multi player, arcade mode, sequential mode, and of course straightforward karaoke.

The graphics in the game are really good. You get to choose from a number of character models to represent you, each with several costumes. There are several environments, each with moving backgrounds and bandmates to back you up.

The crowd really gets into the song - either clapping and dancing around if you do well, or booing and leaving if you do poorly. It gives you immediate feedback to do better. The feedback line on the bottom of the screen is excellent as well. The arrow moves along with the musical line, showing you clearly if you are too sharp or flat, and "sparking" if you nail it perfectly. It really is extremely impressive, to see how far audio systems have come that this is "just a game".

You can play on levels from basic to expert, to help you learn how the songs and system works before you really try to nail every single note. It's easy at the beginning, and you can unlock new songs, costumes, environments, and more. But the real test of course is cranking the game up to expert and seeing just how talented you are. Can you get the rhythm and pitch spot on, or
