5-0 out of 5 stars Great stand but it is just for looks
I bought this stand over the vertical standbecause i heard stories about the discs being scratched when the ps2 is in vertical position. I have been very happy with the stand so far. I am going to give the vertical one a try too ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Sony PlayStation 2 accessory... EVER!
I bought this thing back in 2001 because I was unsatisfied with the vertical stand and how it made the laser skip sometimes so I traded it in to Electronics Boutique for this one which looks cool (oooh look at the blue bar in front of the vents!) and I am an accessory freak.I really can't say why I bought this thingie, but I am using it right now and I have had absolutely no problems with it and I can't really say it makes a difference, but I feel that Sony should have grafted this onto the original mold of all PlayStation 2s and not make people buy this... accessory! Supposedly it is supposed to give you better airflow because it blocks the front air vents [(with no fan) only blocks first generation models!], but mine is a second generation model (good model early 2001- without those disc-read error launch defects). My model has the raised vents, so the blue bar doesn't cover it, allowing dust to get in your PS2.I only reccommend this useless accessory to you if you have the original October 26, 2000 model PS2, can't stand having $.. in your wallet or you think that a little bar of blue plastic made by Sony is so so cool!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's the best ever!
when I ordered it, i thought it would be just a piece of junk, but when I saw it for the 2nd time, I was amazed at how sleek and space effecint it was. Get the stand and you'll see.

5-0 out of 5 stars Horizontal Stand
What more can I say, Its self-explanatory.Hence the name!!!It's main purpose is to look cool.Sure you can place your PS2 in its vertical position, and yes that would save you alot of room, but in the long run your PS2 will start to scratch your cds.No matter how well you take care of it, even if you treat it like it was part of your family, it would still give you the same result.Trust me, I've been through two PS2 already. The first model which in my opinion, sony rushed it out into the market so that they can make some cha-ching you know. That system died on me for no apparent reason.I'm guessing because of its weak laser assemble.I've waited in a line for hours and hours, spend a couple of bones on it and within a few months the system just chokes. My second system came upon me as a gift, including the Vertical Stand. At first glance, People said: "Sh#$ this looks flood plucking tight"Being me, I took their word for it and I placed the system in it's up right position. No sooner did I noticed that the system starts spitting out my cds with circular scratches on each and everyone of them. A long story short, that system died too, as I was very piss off at it plus it stoping dvds too. This is my third and final system, and I plan to keep it that way for a long time as I am now placing the system with a horizontal stand.I've had it for about two months now and it works great.Need I say more. So if you plan to position your system to make it look cool and not have to worry about scratches then look no further then purchasing the horizontal stand.
Note: Positioning the system in it's vertical stand can cause it to scratch, but this was my experience with it.

The vertical stand allows for space to be used efficiently, besides, it looks cool! ... Read more

This is a great accessory. I've used it for months and it's allowed to play in far more comfortable positions. Plus, I've yet to have controller port burnout like one of my friends had with a 3rd party wireless controller.

Amazon.com Product Description

This PS One value pack comes with the PS One console, GameShark CDX and controller extension cable accessories, and two games: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX.

About the system: The PS One has all of the same functionality as the original PlayStation workhorse, will work with all of the same peripherals and accessories, and will play the existing PlayStation game library, as well as audio CDs (also note that, like the original PlayStation, it's not compatible with the more advanced PlayStation2). The difference here is that this new model is quite a bit smaller than its older brother, and quite a bit cuter, too.

The system is made up of a 32-bit, 34 MHz RISC processor with 16 megabits of main memory, 8 megabits of graphics memory, 24-channel stereo sound, a 2x CD-ROM drive, and one Dual Shock analog controller. That's not a lot of power compared to the next-generation systems out there; but, when you factor in its very low price and the enormous library of games that are available (more than 1,000 spread across every genre imaginable), one can see easily why it's as good a deal as ever. With optional portability accessories for the PS One (such as the 4-inch Mobile Monitor LCD screen attachment and rechargeable power supplies, to name a couple), this little machine could become a great option for the on-the-go gamer.

About the games: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 builds on the addictive gameplay of the original by adding many new tricks and features. The idea is still to perform complicated tricks for points, and players can still ride as Tony or any one of an expanded roster of pros in the new game. Now, though, players can create their own skaters from scratch, as well as their own ideal skate park by instantly building ramps, rails, pipes, and other challenging obstacles. Also included is the hit game Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX, which has an open trick system that lets you start with basic tricks and modify them to create new moves. More than 1,300 different tricks are available, resulting in infinite combinations. Each of the vert, dirt, and street-riding levels has multiple objectives and hidden areas. Ten different multiplayer games are available, including B-M-X (a variation of HORSE), Longest Grind, Sickest Trick, and Gnarliest Crash.

About the accessories: Every time you get stuck on a level, can't beat a difficult boss, or run out of ammunition, GameShark CDX can help. By getting into the codes that game developers use to test their games, GameShark CDX provides you with such things as infinite health, infinite lives, all weapons, all characters, all vehicles, and more. The unit comes preloaded with more than 1,500 codes, and you can always get updated codes from the manufacturer. Also, the pack comes with a simple-to-use extension cable that adds 7 feet to the reach of any PlayStation controller.

About this game pack: Amazon.com and Toysrus.com are pleased to offer this special PS One game pack. When you select a game pack for purchase, Amazon.com will ship your selection in a single box. Of course, you're free to add additional games or accessories to your order. Depending on item availability, these additional items might ship separately. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars The Whole Package Costs More than the Sum of the....
Individual parts separately. Before buying this "Xtreme Pack" be warned that it is [more expensive].You can buy each item offered in this pack for about 2/3rds of the price this is offered here for. If the psone here included the travel screen than this would be one heck of a deal, but it doesn't so do some smart shopping.I just sat here and priced each individual part on this web site and got a better deal by putting the package together myself. For this price you could throw in 2 1/2 more psone games at normal price.Just thought you consumers should be aware.I gave the pack 3 stars because I enjoy my psone immensely, it's a great and inexpensive game system, and games are [inexpensive] for it now and still relatively easy to find (as unlike almost every other game company, Sony didn't dump development on it's previous game system when it came out with it's new system, yeah you heard me Nintendo,"Nintento Sixty-whatsit?")As with this and any other "package deal" be sure and check to see if it really is a deal, cause this one is a major burn.Happy Shopping True Believers. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not the best
I have owned this pad (not exact one, in blue) for 5 months and all of my friends own this pad as well. This pad works well for beginners, but once you have reached light, standard, and difficult it begins to slide around because it doesn't have a grip.I once had a party and when we were playing it, by the end of the song the pad had slid up about 2 feet and turned diagnally.I have also slipped and fallen using this pad. If you fold the pad there is a good possiblity that the sensors will move and the pad will become useless, this happened to my friend, so don't fold it if you buy it.I suggest that you don't buy this pad because you can probably get a much better one for only a few dollars more.In the end, spending a few more extra dollars will be worth it and you'll be safer.

2-0 out of 5 stars Beginners Start Here
The Mad Catz dance mat is intended to be used with Dance Dance Revolution, a popular video game that "combines quick reflexes and timing with dance music".
That being said, it is difficult for serious DDR players to make use of this dance mat. The pad tends to slip during play, so you'll probably have to tape it to the floor. The sensors can't really take much abuse, so the arrows will probably stop responding to steps within a few weeks of heavy play.
Note that the above only applies to experienced and skilled DDR players. This dance mat is fine for beginning players who want to test the game without making a huge investment for a better pad. You get what you pay for, after all.

1-0 out of 5 stars ***Update: Pad Sucks!***
(...)
Just to let you know, the pad that I bought died.I got it around June last year, and now the sensors either shifted too far out of place, respond too slowly, or don't respond at all.The slipping is outrageous; try doing Paranoia on this cheap pad, oh wait, you can't.The pad will slip from one side of the TV to another. And don't even think about buying two of these. In my opinion, this is a death trap.Think about it: if both pads slip, the players could get seriously hurt.

Bottom line: don't buy yourself this pad, unless you like to waste money and regret purchases.

2-0 out of 5 stars Eh...
I got this for Christmas from my oh-so-awesome brother who I'd been nagging forever to get me a DDR system. Needless to say, I was very excited when I got it and I practiced like a possessed freak almost everday for a month or two. I like the game, it's ok, except that it's a little on the annoying side since the songs get very tiring after a while. The tutorials included are very very convenient for beginners (although I think they could've taken the lessons further).

Well, that's the GAME part of DDR, the MAT on the other hand sucked like a #*@$^^$#*. In the beginning, it worked rather well with the exception of a few slips and slides here and there. The only problem is that when you get better at DDR, you can't afford to have slips and slides in your mat. So if you plan to suck at DDR for the rest of your life, Wahoo! this is the mat for you. Other than that, the button response deteriorates over time which is THE most irritating aspect of this product. A previous reviewer suggested that folding and storing the mat may damage it and perhaps that may be why my mat isn't working properly, BUT IF SO the packaging should come with a complete and detailed WARNING of such an inconvenient problem. I guess the manufacturers never took under consideration that some people might actually want to PUT AWAY their mat after using it. We're not ALL filthy pigs of unclealiness.

My suggestion is don't buy the mat unless death is the only other alternative. =)

1-0 out of 5 stars Thanks for playing, please try again.
I hate aerobic workouts. They're abysmally boring. When I read that DDR Max 2 had a workout mode that would actually make working out interesting, I ran right out and bought it.A friend of mine was kind enough to give me his Mad Catz dance pad; he'd never gotten around to using it, so it was still brand new.Well, I'd never played a DDR game before, so I started with the lessons for beginners. For those who don't know, there are 3 lessons, each of which has 8 sections.I kept failing to complete the last section of lesson 2, and it took me a few tries to realize that I wasn't being a total klutz, the up arrow of my dance pad had simply stopped responding.I sat down and punched at it several times, until I found the "hot spot."It had scooted up all the way under the plastic thingie that connects the pad to the console. So the only way for me to get it to recognize the signal was to stomp down on the upper part of the area with my heel, slapping the ball of my foot on the plastic thingie each time.Needless to say, that got old in oh, about 30 seconds.

I estimate that the pad lasted less than half an hour.I'm off to look for a better dance pad (Red Octane's Ignition 2.0 is looking good right about now) first thing in the morning.I'd advise everyone to steer very clear of this dance pad.Kinda sad, given that I've always liked Mad Catz accessories. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars incredible!!
I had a stroke 5 years ago, so I only have use of my right hand.I would probably have rolled up into a little ball and wilted away if not for this controller. The ease of use is absolutely awesome. The slight problem with configuration of tne buttons can usually be resolved within the individual game. In the rare instance that it cannot, a little practice and perseverence will generally do the trick. I am currently finding that my new games,{which all seem to be analog}, are not responding to this controller and I am losing my mind trying to find a way to either make it work or find a ps2 model.
IS THERE ONE ?

5-0 out of 5 stars the best thing since sliced bread.
If you are disabled like myself, and only have one hand that works and you enjoy the playstation than this ASCII grip is one of the most important item you could ever pick up! There is no other controllers that I could possibely use. Well done to Agetec for producing this model i just hope that when we get the PS2 (which launches here on the 24 Nov 00) it will still work otherwise i will be wacthing a lot of DVD untill another one handed controller comes out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fits better in your hand for long term play
I am a game tester for a company that develops for the Playstation, I spend upwards of 40 hours a week with my hands wrapped around a controller, and I LOVE this thing!!! (I use it as often as possible.) It fits very naturally and comfortably in either hand while making it easy for you to flip through a strategy guide/walkthrough, or take notes, or open a can of soda, or whatever. It did take some getting used to but it wasn't long before I adjusted. I'm not sure how the Grip would work with anything other then RPG/Survival Horror and Strategy games (That's all I've been using it for so far.) I really don't think it would be good for fighting games, because of the way the triangle, square, circle, and ex buttons are set up. (But, as I said, I haven't tried it yet.) If you're the kind of person who ends up spending hours on a game in a sitting, use this thing! You're hands will thank you for it. (I hope somebody makes one for the PS2.)

The Agetec ASCII Grip is a great addition to any Playstation owners collection. This one-handed controller is light, comfortable and easy to use.It has all the necessary buttons of a standard Playstation Controlleronly it leaves one hand free to do other things like graphing a map orjotting down notes while you play your favorite video game.Thiscontroller is mostly recommended for use with RPG or strategic-type games. 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for it's time, and good for now...
This was an excellent controller for PS1, as it offered the excellent 'shock' feature, which made gaming better and more realistic. It also looks great, and has more accessible buttons. It looks alot like the standard controllers that came along with PS2's, so u might not be THAT impressed if u've already purchased that system. Also, there are now great wireless controllers that are awesome.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great controller, nice color
The PS1 controller by sony, in my opinion, is the best quality compared to other brands. The only thing I don't like is the L1 L2 R1 R2 buttons, it is confusing and difficult for me to quickly press one or the other during gameplay. Otherwise this controller is great.
Pros:
1) Small, lightweight, portable
2) Good quality
Cons:
1) L1 L2 R1 R2 buttons are confusing
2) Joysticks (in my opinion) are too close together
3) Start and Select buttons are too little

5-0 out of 5 stars OK Controller
This controller i got for my playstation was my 3rd controller, the other 2 were the original gray ones. my brother in law has a transparent blue Viper 2 controller and thats the one i wanted, so i tried to copy him and this was as close as i could find. To me, this controller is just like the gray ones only blue, but the shock is better.

5-0 out of 5 stars U must own this controller.
I traded my friend a game for this controller and it was well worth it. I noticed that i would do a lot better in all types of games which are mostly racing. You move around a lot better with this controller. If you want to add to your playstation gameplaying skills you need to get this controller it will definately help and it is well worth the cost evethough it is a lil pricey. So go and get it NOW!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sony knows what Sony knows!
I think I spent all of about 5 minutes trying to decide what I wanted when I decided to purchase a second controller for my Playstation. The dual shock controller is far better then the original controller. Not only does it improve game play because of the vibration but it also gives you the choice of the directional pad or the analog joysticks! When it comes to purchasing accessories for the Playstation it always best to go with Sony. It is definitely worth the extra (money) you pay vs. some piece of junk aftermarket controller.

What I was attracted to about this particular one is the cool transparent colors; the blue and red are my favorites. A great buy, and I would have to recommend it to anyone looking to add a second or third controller to his or her Playstation. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 4.5 statrs is more like it...
I purchased the Ultraracer right after buying Gran Turismo and have been using it since and even now with Gran Turismo 2. The Ultraracer is a handheld wheel that is extremely responsive (maybe too touchy for some - Ilike it that way though) and features analog support for not only steeringbut also acceleration and braking. Both Sony's own analog control as wellas Namco's "NegCon" analog control is supported. It has an analogtrigger and 2 analog "tall" buttons and controls can be switchand remapped which is easy to do. The wheel itself is 2 inches in diameterand has a nice rubber coating that resists slipping due to sweaty hands andit does work well. I mentioned that the wheel is very responsive and it isdue to the fact that the wheel only has 90 deg. turn radius. Like I said, Iprefer this but others might not. I feel GT & GT2 needs something thisresponsive. The controller itself is very well built and is one of the bestqualty controllers I've used. I've won so many races I can't even begin tocount and the Ultraracer is a big reason for that. The only reason I didnot give it a 5 star rating is because it is not dual shock. If it were, Iwould be perfect. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Controller Ever
Like everyone else....I just wanted to not have my dogs trip on my PS2 cords, so I thought I would give this Logitech Controller a try.Absolute garbage. It seemed cool at first, but after maybe 200 Hours of play, the left joystick went loose and broke. Not to mention that half the time it didn't read my directional controls properly.Do not buy this -- spend it on something else!

4-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!
Where the cord go i dont no but this thang helped me not get any tangles.i love that thang and its torbo button.Oh and not having to change the battery.just recharge it.if you want to keep your battery life longer then turn of the rummble and get a little bit closer to your PS2.I hope that helped.5 stars!
(...) says peace out!

4-0 out of 5 stars intec wireless controller
I did exhaustive research on wireless controllers and decided on this one.It ended up being an aweful purchase.First, it takes 12 hours to charge the battery pack that it comes with. When the battery needs to be recharged, you have to remove it from the controller rendering it useless, until the battery is recharged, and currently you can't buy a second rechargeable back up.Any information suggesting AA batteries will work is false.Second, the handles on the controller are a little fat making it difficult to use the L1,2 and R1,2 buttons and the two joysticks, especially if you have average to small hands.Thirdly, I followed the directions precisely and could not get the controller to work properly. In any game the screen kept turing right ever so slightly and per the instructions you have to power everything down including the PS2 so you can restablish the wireless connection, which failed.Don't be fooled by its looks, because thats all it has going for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Wireless Controller
Some people say this controller isn't worth the $50 and it doesn't last that long after you charge it. Well I charged my controller for the 12 hours it said to charge it and I've played it for at least 10 hours already and I have not had to recharge it once.I even had a new years eve party and we used it all night long and it worked just as a normal controller would and I could play it all over the house. I have nothing bad to say about this controller, 5 stars by me! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Don't expect a lot...
Don't expect your dvds to come out to "like new" condition. You can only get "like new" results from professional type of machines costing at least five hundred dollars.

With that said, it does repair scratched discs so that the movie or the music plays without skipping or freezing anymore. It does leave circular scratch marks, which are made by the buffing pads on the machine. As for the 'cleaning' cycle where you have to use a gritty type of solution, it leaves a hazy film which I think is supposed to be hazy as it forms a protective layer from further scratches.

Use it if you have a bunch of scratched dvds or cds that are skipping and you want them to be playable again. But, don't expect for them to look brand new again. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Several sports, fighting, and party games allow between three and eight players to play at once, but the PlayStation and new PS One have only two controller ports. If you want to turn your PlayStation into a party, you need the PS One Multitap. Simply plug this accessory into one of your controller ports, and then plug up to four controllers and memory cards into the Multitap's built-in ports. Two Multitaps raise your capacity to eight controllers and memory cards. Also, the Multitap's extra capacity allows you to keep your specialty controllers--such as racing wheels, fishing controllers, and light guns--connected and ready to play. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Works fine
You need multi-player games...yes you do.Basically this means, it will be mostly played with sports games. If you don't have sports games, then you won't find much use for the multi-tap since most of the other games are 1-2 players, or their 2+ player mode is more limited.

3-0 out of 5 stars My Review
With a lot of PS One Multitap, you can use them to play when you are free. For example, if a Multitap was enter in one slot, it turn into four slots. So two slots with two Multitap can play eight people. Another eight Multitap make it thirty-two slots. Another thirty-two Multitap make it one hundred and twenty-eight. Another one hundred and twenty-eight Multitap make it...

5-0 out of 5 stars If you have a few friends...
If you've got more than one friend that would like to play games with you--and if you have the right games--then this is a tremendous accessory.

Here's a short list of games that support the multitap to get you started:
NBA Live (any year)
most any soccer game (like the FIFA series)
Poy Poy (4 players hitting each other with rocks and trees!)
Bomberman World
Need For Speed 5
Circuit Breakers
Hot Shots Golf 2 & 3
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy
Running Wild

With two multitaps plus NBA Live and 8 controllers you can have 8 people playing basketball together!!That can be very fun with the right people. You can build dream teams with everyone playing as their favorite player for a pretty fun battle.

Note: You use this for PlayStation/PSOne games whether playing them on the PlayStation/PSOne or PlayStation 2.I'm told it doesn't, however, work with PlayStation 2 games.

1-0 out of 5 stars does this item even work
i purchased one of these items and it rarely worked.even when it did, 4 players or more was not possible

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun for the whole family
Multitap lets you play with up to 3 people other than yourself. There is only two problems. 1. It does not include any controllers. 2. There are not many games that let you play with more than 2 people. ( The only games I know is Frogger, and Crash Team Racing.) I think you should buy this after you have gotten at least 4 games that let you use Multitap. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Ugh!
Okay, I'm online looking for a new playstation memory card because I've had this one since I started playing RPGs (and that was a few years ago). It sucks. That is all I can say. You restart your game and it will just turn the page on you. It shouldn't take a whole lot of complicated button pushing in order to find your saved data. I've lost countless games this way. I don't know WHY I haven't gotten anything new up till now. I guess I'm just hoping one day it'll start working properly, besides the fact that I haven't been playing many PS One games lately. Anyway, I'm online today looking for a new memory card because I felt the need to dust off my FFVII game and take it out for a replay. Well, I'd learned with this card that you have to save more than one copy of the same game data cuz it can be gone in an instant. I had only two copies because the card insisted there was no more space even though I can scroll down and see about 10 open. So, I turn on my playstation this afternoon and one of my files is completely gone like it was never there. The other gives me a "file ruined" message. Do not buy this worthless piece of crap. My dad got it for my sister and me because it was cheap and the large amount of space was appealing. That's its only upside.

5-0 out of 5 stars Problems with Loading Blocks.
Ok here's how it works. I had to jack with this thing for a few minutes, but I think I got it figured out.

Put the memory card in one of the slots, then start your ps with the lid open or no cd in. The memory card will cycle through it's spaces. Once this is done a one will appear to the right. Now open the memory card explorer. Once you're in there Press and hold "Start" now press "L1" & "R1" at the same time. You'll see a small "." appear next to the number. Let go of "L1" & "R1". Now press "L1" or "R1" to cycle through the available spaces. Once you're on the space you want press "Start". Now load your game. Each time you shut off the playstation the memory card should start on the space you selected and you won't need to select a different one until the space is full.

FINAL NOTES: make sure if you're using a Game Shart or Code Breaker, that you have enough blocks to store the codes and save your game on the same space.

also when you try to cycle throught he bolcks the first time, the card may start doing a weird blinking and then cycle through all of the blocks slowly. No big deal, let it do it's thing and then follow the steps above once more.

2-0 out of 5 stars Yeah... start, L1, and R1 doesn't work.
I assume it's because I use this on a PS2, but I can't scroll pages at all.It hasn't erased any memory so far, but because I can only use the one page it's more like just a Massively Expensive Memory Card.

Does anybody know WHEN you're supposed to press start, L1, and R1?Is it at the loading screen, the browser, when the game's already loaded...?

4-0 out of 5 stars how to switch page

3-0 out of 5 stars It works...
It works properly, it doesn't mess up the graphics or sound, But it is a pain! it sort of makes a mess of the wires because they are on each side of the box, even in the front with the buttons. I also had to connect it to my RF modulator because it doesn't hook up to cable, so make sure that your TV takes AV cables in the back! mine does not!
But it sure is easier to just press a button ;)
