5-0 out of 5 stars You need one.
A must have for anyone who owns a PS2, with this you can save your game files so you can continue playing. They are compact and strong. Highly recommended.

2-0 out of 5 stars Building another Terminator
Using the technology from this 8MB Memory Card (left over from the dead Terminator), you should be able to construct another Terminator robot and send it through time.

If you create a bad Terminator robot, you should definitely soup it up like the A-Team van, with some crazy special powers that will help it destroy mankind. If you create a good Terminator robot, just make it like normal (and P.S. thanks for saving mankind).

4-0 out of 5 stars good, not great
The official 8MB PS2 memory card is good if you have only a couple of games.otherwise you need to buy more than one.It is said that it runs 200 times faster, which isn't entirely accurate (usually about 185 times, but 200 is supposed to be the max).I bought this thing used for $17 dollars. That's expensive. If you have an oldr model of Playstation, it would be better to shell out $100 for Final Fantasy 11/hard drive bundle. The hard drive is 40 gigs, which is 5,120 times larger than this memory card.If you have a slim ps2, you can't use the hard drive. In that case, buy the 2 pack memory cards from Sony. It runs from $32 to $40, so get that package.Overall, a fast, reliable card, but Sony needs to produce larger cards.

3-0 out of 5 stars be aware
ill tell you it is a good memory card but over time it will erase everything if you action replay max and if you use it on the getaway game it will erase every thing so if you have it just to let you know that

4-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A GOOD MEMORY CARD
MEMORY cards are quite dear and hold 8 blocks of Memory, games like The Sims ect. take up alot of Memory space so saving other games are more difficult to save,i do Prefer The GameCube memory cards b-cs they have more space so ide often have to delete memory from Magic Gate 8MB(8 Memory Blocks) to save my newer games. The PS2 is backWards Compatible with its predcessor`s games,PS ONE wich is very useful but PS2 is a different console and PS2`s Memory Card`s can`t save any PS ONE game(and PS1 Mem. Cards can not save PS2 games)So ide recommend that if you are buying PSX games for a PS2 to buy/Make-sure you have a PS ONE memory card if you i am concidering getting a PlayStation 1 Memory Card for my PS2 so i can save these PS1 games ime concidering buying;WWF In Your House,WWF WarZone,WWF SmackDown! 1,WWF SmackDown 2:Know Your Role!(I am a WWF/WWE fan),GTA1,GTA2,Driver 1 and Driver 2 and all of these games are popular and very fun to play thats Y ime gettin a PS1 Memory Card and And these games though PS2 games are more Fun now and better graphix.Only get a 8MB card if you have&play 8 games.JOHN CENA AND RANDY ORTON are the best WWE superstasrs!!!!1 ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Ignition 2.0 Incompatible with Xbox
I've gone through three Ignition 2.0 Dance Pads with our Xbox and the down arrow eventually stops working properly. If you press the down arror while you have foot on the left or right arrow, the down arrow won't register. We've had three pads in 4 months and the same problem keeps happening.Called RedOctane Customer Support and they admitted that there is a bug with their pad and Xbox.I'm stuck because the pad is outside of the warranty period. The kids love the pad EXCEPT the down arrow.Basically, don't get this pad unless you're using PS2.BTW, Konami pad that came with DDR2 has been rock solid.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Lasted for awhile . . .
These were awesome for awhile. I have two, and one stopped working altogether within a few months and the other one sort of works. The buttons start to stick, which makes it frustrating to play when you keep getting a bad score after you know you did well. I hope they come out with something better. For a good price would be a bonus.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very poor construction results in useless product
I purchased one of these pads a month and a half before christmas as a gift.Everyone loved it at first and we purchased a second pad so two people could play at once.Within 20 days after christmas, the first pad started demonstating operation problems: buttons not functioning when pressed and buttons sticking.About a month and a half after we purchased the second one, it too started showing the same problems. We purchased these pads in large part to the excellent reviews here.Apparently, these reviews were in reaction to the version 1 pad which appears to have a much longer life.At $100 a pad, having them die within a month or two seems like a huge rip-off.100% failure rate within a few months is way too high.I'd suggest looking for another pad rather than purchasing this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't recommend for over 250 lbs. person.
This pad is great, I even bought a second one. I like them almost better than the real arcade hard pads. They have excellent response times.

The only thing I noticed is one of the pads right button doesn't work as well* anymore because one of my freinds who is 350 lbs. used it. For this reason I wouldn't recommend the pad for users near 300 lbs. However, I weight almost 250 and they haven't had a problem.

*as well meaning it still works most of the time but doesn't always respond.

5-0 out of 5 stars By far the best dance pad for the Xbox/PS2 Console!
This is by far the best dance dance revolution dance pad up to date. Its $100, so its pretty pricy, but its definetely worth it. I even think its better then the metal $500 dance pads. The reason is because no doubt, the metal dance pad is more stable, but the thing is that it breaks in a year maximum. I've had this cheaper one for about two years and it hasn't broken yet.

When you first get it, you have to put it together, its kind of like a jigsaw puzzle in some terms. It can be kind of frustrating if you have no experience in making a jigsaw puzzle, but its kind of fun at the same time. Its one of those things where your really proud of once you've made it. Its really not that hard to put together. The only problem is that some of the pieces have been mishaped a little bit in the package, so it makes it harder to put together. But at least it doesn't break apart, if it did, then that would be a reason to get the metal dance pad.

The thing that differs the red octane ignition dance pad from the other $20-$50 dance pads is that its much more stable and has more of a grip on the ground so it doesn't slide when you dance, especially when your playing on heavy difficulty, if its sliding all over the place on the ground, it can be extremely hard to use. I first got the $20 dance pad, soon to return it a week later, because i found that there was just no point in using it, especially when you wan't to play on ranked games online, the kind of dance pad that you use matters a lot.

The one only problem with this dance pad is that it only has the A and B buttons, leaving the bottom two areas blank on the pad. I think they should have added y/x or the other two buttons for the ps2 seeing that it can be used for both the xbox and the ps2. Thats another good thing about this dance pad.

The last great thing about this is that the cable cord is long so that if you have your xbox/ps2 elevated on an upper object, you can still hook this wonderful dance pad up with no difficulty whatsoever.

In conclusion, i definetely think that this is the best dance pad up to date, and will be the best quality dance pad that you will pay for.

    Amazon.com Review

If the original PlayStation was the video game console equivalent of the'60s-era Volkswagen Beetle--economic, reliable, loads of fun--the PS One couldbe considered the new Beetle--a hip restyling of those same qualities.

Make no mistake: the PS One has all of the same functionality as the originalPlayStation workhorse, will work with all of the same peripherals andaccessories, and will play the existing PlayStation game library, as well asaudio CDs (also note that, like the original PlayStation, it's not compatiblewith the more advancedPlayStation2). The difference here is that this new model is quite a bit smaller thanits older brother, and quite a bit cuter, too.

The system is made up of a 32-bit, 34-MHz RISC processor with 16 Mbits of mainmemory, 8 Mbits of graphics memory, 24-channel stereo sound, double-speed CD-ROMdrive, and one Dual Shock analog controller. That's not a lot of power, comparedto a next-generation system like theSegaDreamcast; but, when you factor in its very low price and the enormouslibrary of games that are available (more than 1,000 that are spread acrossevery genre imaginable), one can see easily why it's as good a deal as ever. Ifrumors of exciting future accessories for the PS One (a four-inch LCD screenattachment, to name one) are true, this little machine could become a greatoption for the on-the-go gamer. --Porter Hall ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good game system
I got this system about 4 years ago. It's really not that bad. The graphics stinkof course but it has some pretty good games like spyro, rugrats, crash, spider-man, star wars, tony hawk, and megaman. I've been playing this system for years. Some of the games are easy but most of them are really hard. I've been working on tony hawk for years and I'm still in the suburbia level. We always used to play fighting games on the playstation but now that have an xbox we play fighting games on that. When I got my xbox 2 years ago, my uncle said that I should sell my playstation 1. I will never sell my psone. I will always keep it. Almost all the other gaming systems are better than psone but I will always keep it. You should get it too.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!
First off, the one kid said that PS One isn't any different than Plastation One. Not true. PS One is a ton more smaller and easier on your legs when you are playing it with the LCD screen. This console has some of my old favorites that Nintendo eventually bought out for their own systems like Spyro and Megaman. I also have an N64 but i really think that this one was better, also because N64 is not compatible with an LCD screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Start Of A Legacy
Sony PSOne is one of the best "older" gaming consoles on the market. I bought it two years ago when it was $99.99. It's now even more compact than the 1996 version. Sony likes to make two controller slots which isn't too bad but I wish they would make 4 still. The PSOne's graphics are really good especially compared to the Nintendo 64. If you want a cheaper PlayStation you should look into this one. The older PSOne is okay but I really do like the compact version. The PS2 is much thicker than this but it is a better all around system. You should look into this. I really love how Sony makes their gaming consoles.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good game console that doesn't cost the earth
Okay so Playstation One a bit dated when you think of what other consoles are out and about in the 21st Century but there is something almost timeless about the Playstation One, especially as it plays all those oldies/goldie games that have yet to make it to Playstation 2.

I like the Playstation One because it is SO compact and streamlined. Not only that but you can by an attachable LCD screen for it so you don't have to rely on the TV.

If you are like me, someone who travels a lot, then this is a console that is easy to pack along with the LCD screen and it doesn't take up a lot of room in your luggage.

There are still accessories that you can buy, like a Playstation one carry case, extra handsets, cheat systems and memory cards and they don't cost the earth.

Also Playstation One games are a lot cheaper than some Playstation 2 games, you can buy them second hand for a few dollars, one the downsides is that new Playstation One games are now in decline so eventually it will become an obsolete console at some point but that is a few years away yet so you might as well enjoy it whilst you can like I am doing. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars DEF. WORTH THE $$$
First off, i did not buy the Sony brand cable.I bought a Madcatz brand one for $14.99 from Gamestop (thats all they had).I bought this cable because i recently bought a new tv that supports component video. It is NOT an HDTV so i didn't expect it to make a huge difference, but boy was i surprised!Games/movies were sharper and the colors were richer.Def. a noticable difference.I can only imagine the quality you would get if you had an HDTV.

5-0 out of 5 stars 1080i in GT4, the only way is with these...
If you want to experiance something awesome play GT4 with these component video cables and your surround sound hooked up with Driving Force Pro as your controller. You can try out this setup at Best Buy right now. If you have an HDTV and you have 20 dollars by this. Regular SD games look crisper as well. You won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent! for FFXI the difference is awesome...
    Now I can say I am playing the game! the cable literally opened my eyes to the definition of the colors and images of the game... I am using a flat screen Samsung TV and game looks awesome! {Component Cable} {Can I have it?} {Yes, Please}

5-0 out of 5 stars Produces a Great Picture.
Prior to buying these component cables, I had been playing my PS2 with composite cable, connected through my VCR.The result of this: soft, muddy, and dull graphics. After purchasing Final Fantasy XI for my console, I heard quite a few times how the PC version is far superior visually.I had enough of my inferior video and audio experiences, so I purchased a new televsion, and these cables. The result: CRISP, CLEAN, VIBRANT images. The first time I turned on FFXI with these cables, the difference visually was as clear as day.The various imagery in the game, from trees, rocks, the sky, the terrain, and the characters pop out and are very well defined. They all seem to have the depth that I was missing all this time. The text present in the game has also become much clearer.I am proud to say that I can now enjoy this game at the same level visually as PC gamers enjoy theirs. My PS2 has gotten a major face lift.

    3-0 out of 5 stars AV ComponentvrS/Video
I just bought the component AV cable from a 3rd party company and already has the S/video cables (3rd party too) . I've read that AV component it's much better than S video, and tha's why I bought it. But is not!.AV component seems to be a little better than standard AV cables (RCA). S video gives an extraordinary brilliance to images. Video Component looks opaque, maybe Monster cables works better. In summary:
    1- S/Video
    2- AV component
    3- Standar Av cables (rca)

Could it be 'cause they are 3rd party. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

With a sub-$100 price tag and a massive software library, the Sony PlayStation is the undisputed king of home video game consoles. Although the PlayStation is no longer the fastest machine on the market, it does boast the broadest selection of software. Some of the hottest console games available today are created exclusively for the PlayStation, including several modern-day video gaming classics (Metal Gear SolidandCrash Bandicoot to name a few).

The Sony PlayStation truly shines with 3D-rendered action games, such as Tomb Raider and Syphon Filter. These and other 3D-based titles place players in the middle of elaborate gaming environments that take full advantage of the system's ability to render up to 360,000 polygons per second. The PlayStation also has the capability to display 16.8 million colors simultaneously and can support full-frame video playback at 30 frames per second. In addition to impressive graphics, the PlayStation also offers CD-quality sound. Each PlayStation disc has the capacity to store up to 650 MB of data--significantly more information than can be stored on cartridge-based games. As an added bonus, the PlayStation will even play your favorite music CDs (accompanied by a selection of cool graphics).

Additionally, the PlayStation now comes packed with Sony's impressive dual shock controller, which allows players to feel every punch, kick, and rumble during gameplay. The controller features dual-analog thumb joysticks and round rubber grips for improved game control and comfort. Separate accessories that could enhance the PlayStation experience include an additional controller--allowing two-player action--and a memory card so players can save their progress in a game. --Brett Atwood ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Games are great!
I loved it! It has great games including, the Final Fantasy series, all the Tony Hawks, and the Maddens. I think it is better than the PSone because it can use game shark, has a fan so it does not break down easily. Get a used PS2 because it can play more games and you can get them for about $120 dollers!

4-0 out of 5 stars Compact, but functional
I was looking for a way to save space on my desktop. Numeric keypads are a waste of space unless you're using a cash register but they occupy valuable space. I'd been looking for a low cost space saving keyboard but they seemed to be expensive. But then I saw this on sale. It wasn't marketed as working with PCs but I risked it anyway. It works perfectly with both MacOS X and Windows XP.

It certainly saves space. It's actually more compact than laptop keyboards. I'm used to using the Fn key to get features like 'Home' and 'PgUp' but the number and function keys are half height which makes them slightly tricky to use. But this may affect touch typists more than hunt-and-peck types like me.

Overall a great space saver for PCs but slightly cramped layout. I've not tried it on a PS2. I've no idea why it is marketed as a PS2 keyboard!

1-0 out of 5 stars Absolutley Retarted
This Keyboard is the apitimy of accesories. The overall use of this item is at an all time low. The board is made of cheap plastic and the keys are not safe to pressure. Their easy breaking habits make this keboard a death trap for small children. A waste of time to make a keyboard for a playstation 2 instaed of a computer. The small number of games one is able to play with a PS2 is very limited and the number of good games is even more scarce. The chances of you using this keyboard frequently would be close to 1 in 99999999999 trillion. I am serious the moment you open the box you wont even use this product. That is how retarted it really is!!
Don't waste your money....Instead give the money to a charity [...]

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great with Windows XP
Bought this keyboard to use at local LAN parties. It's incredibly small, but still fully comfortable for typing. The placement of some of the keys is a little different, but I've had no problems getting used to them after about a week of normal use. I have no real complaints, although I wish that Logitech had given a small amount of space between the row of function keys and the number keys. Both rows are smaller buttons and the space would have made the keys a bit easier to hit when gaming.

    Overall still a fantastic product.

4-0 out of 5 stars logitech usb keyboard for ps2
This is one of the best keyboards on the market for a reasonable price. the good thing is it size. It's small enough to fit in your lap as you send messages to your friends with the control in your hand. It works great with online titles such as socom2 and resident evil outbreak. I highly recommend this product if you play on-line a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome keyboard
This keyboard is perfect for any online PS2 game.I bought it for Final Fantasy XI and have been very happy with it.If you can afford it, though, I would recommend the Logitech Netplay thing that has the keyboard and controller in one unit so you don't have to switch between the keyboard and the controller. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars You Can Finally Win The Game! Great for X-Key CodeBreaker
If you have never used a memory card for your Playstation PS One, then you are in for a treat. They come in Emerald Green, Blue, and Crimson Red. Of course, you can by the standard white. But different colors are cool and are the more updated memory cards for the system. This little thing slips into (hear the "click") the left entry of the Playstation PS One and never falls off.I played Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare, Aladdin: N. Okay. These is a memory card. You need one to save games. Also, they cost way to much, considering they're at least 5 years old. Also, they're surprisingly hard to find. I'm not sure what's up with that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly
After trying two different brands of PS2 wireless controllers that DIDN'T work, we bought a Logitech for $10 more.It works perfectly, fits well in the hand and gets the job done.Life is too short to spend your time returning defective junk to the game store.Fork over the additional 10 bucks and get quality gear!

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware!
I've always seen Logitech as a very good company that makes high quality products, until the cordless PS2 controller came along.Besides the fact the controller is VERY heavy, the left analog stick hangs, and I have gotten minimal play with it.Why?Because it also has a terrible "sleep mode" (AKA: there's no way to turn the thing off and save battery life). With no vibration on, I would say I may have gotten 25 hours of game play with new batteries (and that is rounding up).I called tech support, and they are no help.(I didn't really expect a lot since they can't make a defective product work.)Logitech should refund everyone who bought this controller.Perhaps this will help someone out there who thinks Logitech's game console products are as good as their computer products.I would not recommend this product.Buyer Beware!

Also beware that Logitech makes a wireless controller for the XBOX as well. After the horrible experience with this PS2 controller, I bought the Intec XBOX Pro Mini 2 Wireless Controller. It is excellent.Intec also supplies a controller for PS2.I have not tried it, but if I buy another wireless controller for the PS2, I'm going to Intec.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Ps2 controller period.
I always liked the quality of Logitechs products and wanted the convenience of a wireless when playing my games in bed so I didn't hesitate to purchase this.Very good quality, feels good in the hands with just the right amount of weight to it. Sturdy and well made.some guys here complained about broken analog sticks but I think the problems were due to them just being a bit abusive with their stuff. These are very well made.I have an updated model slightly different from the picture.Logitech must have responded to the complaints of hands slipping off the analog sticks. The new controller has black rubberized sticks that are not concave. The only complaint I have is the placing of the select and start button so close to the analog sticks.Requires a little bit of dexterity in the fingers!Other than that this is a superb wireless.A

4-0 out of 5 stars Great , but Some lost signals or broken buttons
When I first gotthis, I loved it. I've had it for about a year. So, I was playing a racing game, and I was holding the X to go and then suddenly, I slowed down. After that it still didn't work so good. It even happened in other games. I even tried changing the batteries. This is still a great controller because it only does it sometimes.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not strong enough....
Mine has broken twice, left analog stick broken (always forces the movement down). Can't recommend without an insurance policy, the product is just too weak.

Update: Another one of these broke on me. The left analog stick gets "stuck" in the down position and there is a fine white dust eveident arount the base of the analog stick. I'd say stay away from this one, which is too bad because it is quite responsive and has good battery life. One other thing, the controller will quit responding if too close to a ringing 2.4 GHZ cordless phone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product

I recently got this LCD screen, and I couldn't be happier. It makes out of town trips more enjoyable, and the quality is superb. DO NOT get other brands, but get only the genuine Sony screen. In addition, don't close the screen while the console is on, or it will overheat. Also, be sure to keep the image on the screen moving, or it will freeze.

4-0 out of 5 stars the best thing made by sony (not the PS2!)
I had this for almost a year now and it rocks! I have a GameCube, PS2, N64, NES, SNES, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, and a PSone of course. Out of all I just said, I like the PSone the best. Why? Well, it has some of the best games and the PSone is cheap and with the LCD screen (a screen that has liquid clear display) more enjoyable because it can go in the car and plane and my room! In addition, the games for the PSone range from $5 to $30. If you do not want to use the screen, plug the PSone to you are home TV and play away when the small LCD screen still attached to the PSone. In addition, if you have the right camcorder, you can play what is on it right threw the PSone LCD screen with one cheap cord. You can also use headphones on the LCD screen to hear what you are playing on them. In addition, if you forgot you are CD player and brought you are music CD's, why not play em' on the PSone... you CAN!

    Pros.

    -cheap games

    -great selections of games

    -totally portable

-plays what's on the camcorder with special cord that the
    camcorder can support

    -doubles as a CD player

    -can use headphones on it

    Cons.

    -what cons?!

Bottom line; get the PSone with the LCD screen both by SONY. Thanks for readn'!

    Peace

4-0 out of 5 stars A purchase superior to all others
This screen is the PERFECT addition to anyone's psone system, and is well worth every bit of their dollar. I caution you strongly, DON'T BUY ANY OTHER SCREEN UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THIS ONE. This sony version is completely flawless and it is a very rare condition that any pixels do not work on the screen. This version of the screen is lightweight, thin, and reliable. I have owned this product for half-a-year now and have not had ANY problems with it and I am very satisfied with my purchase. If your purchase the AV multi-out connector you can connect things to your screen such as, a camcorder or any other device that has a multi-out port. This cable can be purchased for under $3. If you purchase this screen, and want it just for portable uses, I would highly reccomend purchasing a battery to accompany this item for only about $30.

    Thanks for reading

1-0 out of 5 stars LCD Backlight Problem
I bought this brand new LCD screen from a local Target store tonight. As soon as I came home, I found that the LCD screen is black, although dim graphics can be perceived when held at an angle. I am quite sure it is the problem with the LCD backlight. I wonder if such problem is a common defect, since it is already mentioned here.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
My daughter got the PS1 with LCD screen combo for Christmas a year ago, and when we opened it and hooked it up, the screen did not work properly. The screen was black, but if you held it at an angle, you could tell there were graphics present. Yes, we adjusted the contrast and nothing helped. We took it back and they had no more in stock, so we went to Sears. We got their last one and I asked to hook it up and try it out before we left--just in case. Sure enough, it did the same thing, so we left empty handed. Finally, we found a combo unit at Target and it worked--for about 7 months. A few months ago, it started going on the fritz and if we unplugged the cable and fiddled with it, it would work again. It finally quit working alltogether. It was great while it worked, but now I'm leery as to how long another one will work. Is a 90 day warranty sufficient for an item so pricey? I don't think so. I'm faced with replacing it, because to fix it would probably cost even more. What a shame. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product!
Bought this for my 6 year old gaming/tv freak, very sturdy construction with no worries of tipping the 27 inch tv. Currently we have a DVD/VCR combo on the second shelf and a GameCube on the bottom. The only problem we have had is the spacing slats that hold the DVD's in place don't hold them tightly enough and they sometimes fall off of the stand. Easy to put together and even easier to keep clean.

5-0 out of 5 stars way way better than the first 2!
this video game center is way better than the first 2 video centers from step2, this one fits all my ps2 and gamecube games perfectly and neat, the other two are more old fashioned and don't fit ps2, gamcube, and dvds like this one does.this game center is real strong the other 2 are'nt. my 27 inch tv fits good and looks nice on the game center. and the other bad thing bout the other two video game centers is you can only fit 19 inch or smaller tvs on them and if your a real gamer you would want a bigger tv cause your games look alot better. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A gamer's must
I used the non-electronic Game-dr. for a year and had to buy the electronic one. If your a gamer and want to resurface your old scatched cds I highly recommend it. Most of the pople who gave this bad reviews probably resurfaced it too much or didnt buy a new resurfacing disk. All my games and Cds that didnt work work excellent now.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal
I did a lot of research on this product before deciding to purchase it, but with all the negative reviews posted i was real hesitant.I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and buy it.I needed something to repair my X-Box games that were deeply scratched and would not even boot up.After getting the game doctor i choose a game that i did not cared about loseing.I followed the directions to the letter and put my game in the system and turned it on, and just like magic it booted flawlessly!!I would recomend this product to any one with the same delema.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lame Doctor This Sucks
I agree with all the other bad reviews. Spent the money on the doctor and it made 2 discs worse. Followed instructions to the letter. I'm gonna sue for malpractice!!

1-0 out of 5 stars it works occasionally
i bought this to repair a game i got for free that was scratched up to hell (didn't go through the top though).i used it on both discs (it was Red Alert: Retaliation for the psx) and then it worked pretty good, the only thing is that i still don't get music.i then went on repairing my brothers pc games, after the second one the strip that grinds down the protective layer was ruined and started scratching the disc. The free replacement wheel had its strip fallen off due to using crappy glue.Don't buy this, it'll eat up way to much money and can destroy your game CD! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Usability Issues and Loss of Focus on True Product Value
First of all, let me preface this review with the fact that I was an Interact Gameshark v1.6 user, so I came with expectations that Mad Catz would create a similar product with the same usability standards.

    Dislikes...
1.The Intro Movie - It befuddles me why Mad Catz put an intro movie on a game cheat disc that shows up every single time you boot up with the CD.I didn't buy the Gameshark for the intro movie.I bought it because I want access to cheat codes.Hopefully in future versions, they will forego or have an option to disable the intro movie. It's a complete waste of time and resources.

2.The product box and web site are poorly documented as far as product function and requirements are concerned.Although it may be obvious, they should explain that you insert the Gameshark disc, select your desired cheat codes, and then insert the game disc.Because I came from an Interact Gameshark that had a special memory card device, I thought that the new Gameshark would also have a memory card or some other kind of hardware.

3.They also don't list the fact that you need to have a network adapter in order to connect online (although this is obviously to most people).

4.They should also point out that additional cheat codes can be entered. but they require space on the memory card. The first time I tried to enter a new game code, I was told that I didn't have sufficient free space on my memory card.I had 1 MB free, and I thought that this would be more than enough. So I deleted some data from my memory card to make room. However, after freeing up almost 2 MB, the Gameshark still wouldn't save the one additional game code. Finally after I freed up over 3 MB of space, the Gameshark successfully saved the game code. But to my frustration, it used less than 500KB to save the code and left me still with 3 MB of free space!I wondered why it said that there wasn't enough space to save the code before when I had enough free space on my memory card.

5.User interface and navigation is not intuitive, and insufficient on-screen instruction is given to instruct user how to navigate, especially in Expert Cheat Mode menu. The first time I tried to add a new game and enter new codes, I couldn't figure out how to add codes to the game I just added. The screen only had instructions to select, go back, and view options.None of these commands led to the right place to add a new code. Finally, after cracking open the printed user guide, I found out that you need to press the right arrow when you have the game name highlighted.Pressing the right arrow takes you to another menu. There was no such indicator on the screen that would have clued me to the fact that I needed to press the right-arrow button to go to another menu. They should include some sort of right arrow indicator on the screen.

6.Entering game codes via keyboard could be easier. When entering game codes, they could have designed the interface a little better to allow you to enter many consecutive codes without having to go through option menu > add. They should just have a matrix screen that shows all the codes needed for a single cheat so you can see the lines of codes that you have already entered.Sometimes when entering these codes, it's easy to lose your place.Being able to see the last code you entered is helpful in getting your bearings.

7.The on-screen font used to display the codes is not a fixed-width font. All the codes are 16 hex characters in length. But when you enter the codes, the displayed lines are not always the same, so it's sometimes hard to see whether or not you've entered in the right codes. The point here is that most programming tools use a font like Courier to display the code because it is fixed-width, which makes it easier to read computer code, especially hex numbers.

8.The memory manager doesn't tell you the size of each item on the memory card.It only tells you how much space you have free. The file size would have been really useful information when I was trying to free up space on my memory card so that the Gameshark could save my game code.

9.The media player might have been a nice idea if it didn't require you to put the Gameshark disc in the PS2 everytime you want to use it.The intro movie on the Gameshark disc doesn't make this an efficient process either.I wish Mad Catz made a Gameshark disc that just gave me the cheat codes and nothing else.I don't want all this other junk.

10.The Gameshark disc sounds like it has problems reading properly in my PS2.Perhaps this is a bad disc or just a unique issue with my PS2.Although I can still use the Gameshark disc, I wonder if someday my PS2 won't be able to read the disc anymore. It sounds like it is struggling to read the disc.

    Likes...

    1.The cheat codes work.

Overall, I wish Mad Catz would forego the 3D graphics and other extras that users like me don't want to pay for. The 3D graphic backgrounds are cheezy, and if they actually paid someone to do it, I suggest that they don't in the future. I don't care for all the extras, just give me something I can use to enter cheat codes. And make entering in new cheat codes more user-friendly. So buy this product if you want to use cheat codes, but I would have considered other products given the opportunity and assuming that alternative products' cheat codes work just as well.

    Good luck. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This is the best thing ever!!!
Man this item is fantastic. I love wasting $80 on pointless furniture. Getting a great cheap plastic looking set that holds all my games and systems.... Man I must be in heaven. Not only that but it breaks easily, does this thing have no limit? So I bought this great video center around a year ago.... And what happens it breaks. I had it for a couple of weeks and does it look like dog crap. It looks like you're in a baby kids room. Similar to those play centers in day cares or McDonalds. Man that is lame.... I just love having children decor in my house, and it has to be $80. If I were you.... I would just let my systems, TV, and CDs sit in some tubberware. Believe me it would be 50X safer!!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!!
i bought this video center for my son for christmas as well a ps2 to store and at first i did not think that it would fit in the drawer part but it did but the ps2 games do not fit on the top left and right slots because of the length of the games however they do fit on the sides where you would put the vhs tapes and that is where my son has added his games so you would have to be a little creative with it. i had seen a review where a lady had bought this item for her son and she was very disappointed once she could not place the games in the slots and stated not to purchase. everyone out there! do not listen to that its a must have and it does help with organizing your room area! and the price at the time during the holiday season i could not resist for $71.99 plus free shipping! WOW!

4-0 out of 5 stars good buy
We thought this was very handy storage. It holds all our video equiptment just right.

5-0 out of 5 stars Idea
This looks like a great organizer, but with you people that have a x-box ps2 game cube and a dvd player you can buy cd cases that music cds come in and place the ps2 xbox and game cube games in those along with the dvds. It would be a bit of money depending on how many games and dvds you have though...

2-0 out of 5 stars If you have a PS2, or a DVD player, DON'Tbuy this!
I was very excited when the box first arrived at our doorstep. My eight year old son and I managed to get the unit put together, after a little tugging to get some of the screws to go into place. We carried it up to his room, and put the T.V. and V.C.R. into place. My excitement turned to bitter dissapointment, however, when I tried to fit my son's PS2 games into the shelves desighned to hold CD's or VCR tapes. The PS2, and DVD cases are too big to fit into these slots. I had just not realized that they would not work with this model. The whole reason I ordered this unit was too try to organize some of the mess in his room, so this will not work for me. I will probably try to return it, and order the newer model. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay for beginners but get one on eBay!
This mat is okay for beginners. It won't last too long for advance users but this mat is a great way for a beginners to learn how to play. Some people recommend duct tapping plywood on the bottom of the mat some it responds better, but if you get a mat anywhere, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND getting one on eBay.Usually, they are brand new and factory sealed. They usually come in a sets of two (one for you and a friend) and sell for about $8.50 like this one (either in XBox or PS2) and $15.95 for shipping (The Buy It Now price on eBay is usually $8.50 but you can still bid on it to save a couple of bucks).Shipping for these mats on amazon.com are $4.49 for 3-5 day shipping and $8.98 for two day shipping so you still come out ahead on eBay.I got a mat that retails for $130 (its sort of like the mat that sells for $99 here; its more expensive because it has extra padding and it will last longer) for $20 and $25 dollar shipping. For hardcore fans who really got some moves and play the DDR games a lot, eBay has the metal dance mats with the bar (looks exactly like the one in the arcades) for about $150 (not including shipping).Otherwise, this is an awesome mat but if you want to save money and get one for when a friend comes over, get one on eBay (if you get one on eBay, search ddr or search ddr extreme).

1-0 out of 5 stars This is not a quality product.
Buyer beware -- If you're buying this because it's the cheapest dance mat available, you're going to get exactly what you paid for.I am just getting into DDR so I bought this to practice at home.It worked great for a couple of weeks, but now the up arrow is screwy and doesn't always register, which makes it extremely frustrating to play.I estimate I got less than 20 hours of use before it started to fail on me, which is inexcusable. In short this pad is not worth the money or trouble.Look elsewhere.

    1-0 out of 5 stars ~Whacks mat with a shovel~
I first started playing DDR at a friend's birthday party, where I got hooked on it and asked for it for my own birthday.Well, knowing my parents, they got me DDR just as I asked. (They love it when I excersize without them bugging me, I bet they thought DDR was a gift from heaven. xD) Along with DDRMax 2, they got me this soft dance pad, and for a while, it did great.I got better and better, and eventually, I progressed to Standard mode. That was when the madness began. At first, it was just the fact that it got scrunched up like a raisin after a fast song. And also, it slid under the couch or onto the wall mid-play, causing me to fail the song. And then, it got worse.Sometimes I would press a button, but it would not register. And the most annoying of all is when it registered when I wasn't even standing on it! It would just incessantly press the -> or <- buttons until I wiggled the buttons around enough to make it stop! The nice thing was, however, that after I got DDR Extreme, I got a new dance pad, same as the first.I had it all along, just in case a friend wanted to play. So, I hooked it up, and played on my "new" one.By then I played on Heavy mode (I rock =P), and the "new" dance mat lasted about... 5 days. And with that one, I accidentally stepped on the black hard "thing" on the front connecting to the wire. Now, the up arrow occasionally won't register any of my steps every other song.I have to wiggle around the black "thing" to get the up arrow to even work at all!Ok... the moral of my story is... if you are just beginning, this pad is for you.If you play on Standard, I wouldn't consider it.If you play on Heavy, don't sue me for damage to your floor when you take a chainsaw and slice the mat into shreds. If you play on Oni Mode (DDRMax), then don't even make direct eye contact with this product. It'll drive you to insanity. If you want a quality dance mat, buy a RedOctane 2.0 Ignition Pad.It's well worth the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars um... not much to say here but its not for true DDRers
ummm.... its ok for kids who just want to play around but...
see, i'm an experience Dancer and I got this pad about 1 and 1/2 years ago. now i invest my money on a metal pad. that broke and i got red octane. trust me. if you are on a hard standard song or heavy go get the red octane not this but this is prteey good for beginneres and might modes people. not for me.

2-0 out of 5 stars Okay Dance Mat...
When I first bought this mat, it was out of stock so I guess people like this. But I would like to warn that this mat may be fun, but not at all durable. I've had it for three months before it broke. the up arrow got seriuosly messed up and hardly ever works now. The down arrow is getting screwed up too. It slipps all over the room while I am playing it and it messes up my game. :P
This mat works as good as any other mat until you've had it for a while. I've had a lot of fun on this mat and eventually, I knew it was going to break but I didn't expect it to break so soon. It's been half a year and I've never played it agian. I recomend the redoctave.com Playstation Non-Slip Dance Pads.:D It's more durable and it doesn't take you surfing accross the room. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Too Expensive to be that cheaply made!
I bought one a while ago for $40, two months later it broke somehow. Then I got another one for $30... That one broke too!.This headset is about as durable as a Lays Potato Chip...I'm serious!.... So basically I spent $70 on a delicate potato chip that enables you to communicate with other people over the internet.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK!
it WILL break.I have gone through 3 of 'em.Must have for Socom 2, the only reason i kept buying it.But never again, i have since gone silent after spending $30 a piece on these pieces of JUNK!

1-0 out of 5 stars WILL BREAK IN NO TIME!
i purchased this headset a month ago, despite being told that it breaks easily and the uslesness of it in online games. even though i was extremely carfull not to cause any trama on the headset, to broke any way. the earphone doesn't work and the microphone is weak.
so forget about buying this peace of junk, it just won't last.

2-0 out of 5 stars Total Junk
Note: I don't own a PS2, I bought this for a cheap USB headset for my computer.

This headset is really bad. The build quality is a joke; I was afraid I was going to break it taking it out if the packaging (incidentally, the packaging is quite solid). The plastic is cheap and flimsy.

Besides the low quality build, this thing is tiny, clearly designed for a little kid to wear. I adjusted it as big as it would go, and while I got it on my head, the fit was light years from satisfactory. Even for people with smaller heads, it only adjusts on one side, so if you adjust the size the headset becomes lopsided.

The sound quality is also very poor. While it noticeably cancels some noise, the remaining signal is scratchy, and generally low quality (though not as bad is the build quality).

2-0 out of 5 stars Is this the only USB headset that works on PS2?
I realize that there are exactly 2 headsets that seemed to be endorsed, but I stuck an Apple USB keyboard in the same USB slots for these headsets and that works fine. Has anyone tried another kind of USB headset, other than the two offered here, using one of the two USB ports in the front of your PS2? That would be good to know for sure. Because there are other quality USB headsets out there. I would be willing to bet that if SONY's PS2 website doesn't specifically endorse any headset, under the heading of "hardware" then, other headsets are up for grabs. If you know for certain, and have actually tested this theory, post here, please! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Put one in every room in the house!Portable and perfect, now you can have the enormous PS1 catalog in a teeny tiny package. There are plenty of features (see most other reviews), but I most appreciate the ability to toss a few games and a controller in a bag with the PS One and Screen combo and take it anywhere. The games look terrific on the small screen, and the whole thing fits easily into a backpack (or a large purse if you swing that way).

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Semi-Portable System
Great combo, light, easy to use. The screen made all those bad PlayStation graphics disappear! Wonderful color and resolution, just not the best when viewed from all angles. I played games such as Quake II, Final Fantasy VII and Diablo and the graphics were smooth without jaggies like on a regular TV. Tricked me into thinking it was PS2 and not old PS. Plus you can read all text nice and clear in RPG's and such. Headphone jack too for good quality sound although speakers arn't too shabby. Plays CD's and PlayStation Games (that's a lot).

The PSOne and screen is great for trips and such. If you buy this item I would recommend:

    1. PSOne Car Adapter - Makes device Portable. Plugs into any cigarette-type outlet in car, even to socket on airplanes (check below your seat next time)!

    3. PSOne Island Blue Dual Shock Controller (Awesome color)

    2. PlayStation Memory Card (Light Gray or Island Blue)

    4. PSOne Deluxe Carrying Case (Made by various companies)

    5. 1/8" (Headphone jack type) Camcorder Stereo A/V Cable (Ask for at any Radio Shack, they will have it. This is ALL you need to hook up a DVD Player, VCR, etc. to the screen's AV IN. You don't need any PS2 cables or whatever described in another review.)

5-0 out of 5 stars the best psone
The resolution is good, I don't miss any details in the video games I play on it. It's got a headphone plug so you can play anywhere without disturbing people. You can plug it in to your television just like a regular PS1 without the extra LCD screen, and it shows up on both screens a the same time... nice for two player games. (Note: It shows the same thing on both screens, so you don't get different views of the game).

The built in sound isn't the best, probably like laptop speakers, but you can plug your headphones into it, or just use your AV out and plug it in to your stereo...

The best part is, in addition to being a CD player / PS1 game player, you can plug in an external input for any kind of video - TV, VCR, DVD, PS2. Here's how.

Buy a 1/8" stereo male to dual RCA female adapter.

Plug the yellow video out from the PS2 into the white plug of the adapter.

Plug the white left audio out from the PS2 into the red plug of the adapter.

    And you're good to
