5-0 out of 5 stars Thrilling!!!!!!!!!!!!sometimes even better than PS2!
This is a Retro Game Sysytem, but still cool!!!!They work like a PS2 but even better than a PS2.buy it,BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Nintendo
Nintendo in my words have gone downhill since the mid to late 90's and now they're mostly gone from the gaming industry. I have to admit though in the 80's they were HUGE! The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) you can never diss. I liked the NES so much and even when the Super NES came out I still played with my old buddy. I do like Sega, Sony, and Microsoft but now I really have to interest with Nintendo. The Nintendo 64 was an okay system. It used cartridges and I wish Nintendo would have realized that now you can have disks! PSOne was a 32-bit system while the Nintendo 64 was a 64-bit system. I really do not see the big difference with the graphics and I like PSOne's graphics better than the Nintendo. Nintendo 64 has all the classic games as seen in the 80's. Arcade games and Mario games are so old and I think Nintendo should go more to adults now. For children the Nintendo 64 and the GameCube are very good systems because there is no violent games or anything. When you get to be a teenager you start wanting violent games (Grand Theft Auto). All around the Nintendo 64 with the wierd controller hasn't satisified me but if you like it that's your opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Mid 90s XBOX - Goodbye old friend
For those who remember this console.
    - Quicker loading times than the PS1.
    - A 64bit graphics pipeline.
    - The funky controller.

    Games:
    - Banjo Kazooie(Best game)
    - Turok (Best graphics)
    - Extreme G (Fastest game)
    - Goldeneye (Best Multiplayer)
    - Blast Corps (Best puzzle game)
    - Pro Evolution Football (Best sports game)

If you have never heard about these games go read about them and you will see why this console was important for games development. For everyone who had, what is a Silicion Graphics (SGI computer) games box, in 1997, 1998, 1999 running 64 bit graphics, then you know how good it was and how it is the games on this thing that made the PS2 all the more possible. Some of these games are now leading developers today.

The only drawback was no cut scenes and nothing really long because the game was on a catridge. Still this box was 64 bit graphics and you got that.

Even though it gathers dust now, it is still a classic and integrel part of gaming evolution.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Dreamcast,PS2,or Nintendo Gamecube, but cool
Okay, here's a list of the pros and cons for N64:
    Pros
    Huge Game Library:
Although it doesn;t have as many games as Genesis,SNES,PS2,or Nes,it sill has 294 titles which should keep you busy.
    Multiplayer Games
When it comes down to this,N64 rocks! With Battle Tanx,Battle Tanx 2:Global Assault,Mario Party,Mario Party 2,Mario Party 3,Donkey Kong 64,Super Smash Bros.,Mario Kart 64,and many other multiplayer games, despite no online games,Nintendo 64 is one of the best systems for 2-4 player games around.
    1-Player Games
Okay,so maybe cood one player games were in short supply, but Nintendo goes for Quality, not Quantity. With revolutionary best sellers like Super Mario 64,The Legend Of Zelda:Ocarina Of Time,Donkey Kong 64,Pokemon Stadium,Pokemon,Stadium 2,and Pokemon Snap(okay, maybe Pokemon Snap wasn't that great, but who cares.Besides,it was fairly revolutionairy),Nintendo has great 1-player games.
Graphics(note:this is both a pro and con,but I put it in the pros)
Although Surpassed by Sega Dreamcast,Playstation 2,Xbox,and Nintendo Gamecube,N64 still has graphics that blow away Playstation One,NES,SNES,GB,GBC,and Sega Genesis. With highly detailed backgrounds, character detail, sharp animations, and real-time lighting effects,N64's grphics still stand up to the test of time by showing what they can do with The Legend Of
Zelda:Ocarina Of Time and Donkey Kong 64.
Pricing:Although you get a bit more for your money with DC,if you can stand not CD player and no online play(which I can and I hope most people can) plus non top of the line Power, the N64 is the system of choice among price conscious parents.
    Cons:
Cartridge's cvost more than CD's and ward off devlopers:self-explanatory.
Power Surppassed by Xbox,Ps2,Gamecube,and Dreamcast.Although N64 has excellent graphics, they are still surppassed by newer systems like PS2,Gamecube,DC, and Xbox.
    Practically no new games
There is one more game on its way for N64,Tony Hawk's pro Skater 3,but other than that no new games are on the way for it.
Lack of Racing Games and RPG's:There was only one RPG for it,Quest 64,which was overall not as good as other RPG's,buit don't wseat about what I said about racing games, there's plenty of good ones such as Rush 1-2049,Road Rash 64,Off Road
    Challenge,California Speed,and Cruisin USA.
Well, enjoy this system,or if you don't get it,spend the money you just saved wisely!

    Amazon.com Product Description

The Expansion Pak allows the random access memory (RAM) of the Nintendo 64 console to increase from 4 megabytes (MB) to 8 MB of contiguous main memory. With the help of an included key, the Expansion Pak fits into the slot that is below a removable panel on the top of the N64 console. Game developers can take advantage of the increased memory in several ways, including making games that are more visually appealing. Some games will allow players to choose a "high-resolution" option, increasing the screen resolution from 320 by 240 pixels to as much as 640 by 480 pixels--creating crisp, high-definition graphics. The Expansion Pak utilizes Nintendo 64's capability for 32-bit, 16.7-million-color display with 256 levels of transparency (alpha)--bringing your games to a new level of realism. Instead of reusing texture data, games can buffer a larger number of textures for a more distinct look.

Other ways for developers to utilize the larger memory is by setting a higher frame rate, longer replays, and more animations. Games also can have more sophisticated artificial intelligence, which allows computer-controlled characters to be smarter, literally. Games can offer more characters and vehicles, and contain larger, more complex levels and worlds. Some games like The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask require the Expansion Pak, while others such as Perfect Dark require it for access to all of the game's levels and features. See our list of Nintendo 64 games that take advantage of the Expansion Pak's extra power. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Spend the Money
I'm a retro gamer of sorts, being the owner of an Atari 2600, a Sega Genesis, a Playstation, and several PC platforms. I recently acquired a Nintendo 64 so I could play Starfox 64. I bought a "new" (unused) Nintendo brand Expansion Pack because I plan on playing Donkey Kong, and I didn't want to deal with any of the problems I've read about with company X brand upgrades. It comes with the removal tool too so you won't be stuck with trying to pry out the standard (4MB) Jumper Pack with a butter knife. I've read many reviews of this product on this site that knock it and question its value. However, I've discovered an added bonus to the upgrade.

The Nintendo 64 was one of the final cartridge-type systems to be built, before CDs became the rage. Any experienced gamer will tell you that a last generation cartridge system in general has faster load times than a first generation CD console, hence a big reason for Nintendo's decision to go cartride with the 64. Those of you with a Playstation can sympathize. So, I installed the Expansion Pack upgrade and, to my surprise, I noticed a slight improvement in load times over the standard Jumper Pack with Starfox 64, a game that isn't credited with utilizing the 4MB RAM upgrade. The graphics do appear to be about the same.

Others question Nintendo's motivation: Did they know ahead of time that they would eventually be marketing games that needed 8MB RAM instead of the standard 4MB? Perhaps, but read the fine print folks. Nintendo is pretty clear on which games will benefit from the upgrade (enhanced graphics, unlocked features) and which will not. Purchase accordingly. If I had to make a choice of whether to buy it again or not I would do so. Having it will allow me (or you) to play virtually all of the games in the 64's library, and we're only talking about a $25 (or less) investment.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT ADDITION!
Is a must for many of the newer and better N64 games out there. It aslo greatly improves graphics on the games that can utilize it. Unlike the person who just gave this 1 star, one has to understand that unless the game is designed for the expansion pak you will see little difference.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
For those of us who can't let go of our precious old Nintendo systems, the Expansion Pack is a must-have.Its not compatible with all games, but it doesn't do anything negative. Some games give you the option to increase the resolution with the expansion pack.Others, like Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, require it.

For the price, I'd add it to other purchases to save on shipping, but it still beats out buying it in EB! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Nintendo first dabbled in video games during the industry's early years of the mid-'70s. Generations of successful gaming console releases through the years led to the much-hyped 1996 launch of Nintendo 64, a system that represented a giant evolutionary leap in video game technology. Within the first three days of launch, hundreds of thousands of gamers hunkered down with Mario 64, considered by many to be one of the greatest video games ever created. Even today, the system's excellent design continues to host an ever-expanding library of breakthrough games.

Nintendo 64's popularity among younger gamers is no surprise. Well-respected games featuring such long-lived and much-loved personalities as Mario (of arcade classic Donkey Kong fame), Zelda, and Banjo-Kazooie are easy to learn and offer enormous replay value. But times are a' changin' and the system's ever-growing library of titles has expanded into every genre of games imaginable, including games better suited for older gamers. In fact, some of the most acclaimed--in some cases, groundbreaking--games available on any platform today are packed onto N64's old-school cartridges.

Under the system's hood, its appeal to the young certainly didn't produce a less mature gaming machine. On the contrary, the 64-bit system boasts impressive graphics, stereo sound, and numerous accessory enhancements, including a high-resolution pack that boosts graphics to awe-inspiring resolutions.

Start your library with Goldeneye 007, Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, and Star Wars: Episode One Racer--these titles represent a decent start to any N64 cartridge library.

With the recent launch of Sega's Dreamcast system, Nintendo 64 is being left behind as the leader in video game technology. And with newer game systems featuring CD-based games, the system's expensive cartridge format is proving itself an archaic and unconventional storage format. But, at a sub-$110 recommended retail price for a console with two controllers, innovative accessory enhancements and a great library of games keep the system's rabid fan base satisfied, if not eager for Nintendo's next evolutionary step. --Eric Twelker ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Nintendo that didn't have a fair go
Nintendo will never be out-done, just out-priced.

Nintendo started off making small hand held electroic games before creating the 8 bit system in the 80's. And when they released the Super Nes they had the 2 greatest home video game systems of the day. Sega never stood a chance because they rushed things just to compete with nintendo, where as nintendo took there time when releasing systems to make sure they where the best they could be. Only the people whose mothers bought them a Sega instead of a NES or SNES where the ones who would defend the Sega systems. But the segas where slow, graphics wernt as good and the sound was as bad as the game play handling.

Nintendo had completly beaton Sega in the market of games. But sega brought out an attachment for the Genises/Mega drive that allowed you to hook on a CD ROM drive to the machine. And nintendo decided to make an even better one to attach to the SNES. If you look on the bottom of a SNES console, you will see where it would attach. The CD Rom for SNES was being developed by Nintendo and Sony. But arguments arose between Sony and Nintendo and Sony seperated themselves from Nintendo and went solo on the project that eventualy became the Playstation!

The playstation was only twice as powerfull as the SNES. The snes was 16 bit, the PS was 32 bit. So ninetendo developed a 64 bit system, twice as powerfull as the playstaion, better graphics, better controll, and better potentiol.

But when the 64 was released, it did not get the fair attention it should have. Why? Because of the CD's Sony used. Not because they where better, not because they where slower, not because they where more fun...no... it was because people where buying them ripped / copied / burnt / bootlegged for a small price. And this still goes on today. That was the biggest reason why Sony was having more succsess then nintendo. Because those CD rom games where able to be copied and the cartridge of the nintendo was not.

The PS games only surpassed with slightly better sound, the 64 could play high quality sound, but it was up the games developer on wether or not to use up space on the game with sound or not. That is about the only advantage the PS had, sound, particuly just music. Some people say the controllers of the PS where better then the N64, but I preffer the 64, it did take some time to adjust to it, but that is personaly taste rather then anything.

The nintendo 64 suffered a blow when more game developers wouldnt make games for the 64 anymore because it was easier to put them on a CD and develop them that way, then to program them for cartridges. So, that is not nintendos fault, that is the game developers fault for being lazy and just wanting to make quick games instead of decent and good games.

Nintendos team called RARE where the ones who always pushed the boundry on games. Just like they did with Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, they broke new ground by not just using the full potintiol of the system, but by finding ways to go beyond it's full capabilty! They released one of the best games on the 64 called "Golden Eye". The James Bond game was the 1st to use the full potentioal of the 64's capability. The game is amazing and still hard to beat by todays standards. The game did not even need the expansion pack the 64 soon offered.

The best games where coming from the game developers who put the effort into making the great games, and the playstaion never had anything as fun to play as the 64 offered. The graphics where so much smoother, the game play was so much more responsive and the fun was there. One of the first games I compared was WWF ATTITUDE. And pretty much like I said, the PS version took longer to load, wasnt as responsive, the graphics where horriblly blocky, and the only thing that was better was it had more sounds from the commentators. And maybe some of the entrance themes where longer. But apart from that, nothing (maybe video footage) but that was never apart of what you where playing which is what counted and the PS was the thumbs down, but because of people able to buy copied games, the PS became popular that new comers to the sytem THOUGHT it was the better system. It isnt.

These days the battle goes on between Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft. But I know for sure, Nintendo will always supply quality games, games worth playing, games using full potentiol of the systems capability, and most important...respect.

5-0 out of 5 stars nice thing to have
THIS N64 IS COOL BECAUSE IT HAS A PLAIN CONTROLER AND A NICE CONTROLER PLUS THE SYSTEM OF N64 AND IF YOU KEEP BUYING GAMES YOU WILL END UP WITH A WHOLE COLLECTION OF GAMES ANDA SYSTEM OF N64. SOME OF THE GAMES FOR THE N64 ARE THINGS LIKE THIS: SUPER SMASH BROS., HEY YOU PIKACHU, STAR FOX, PAPER MARIO, SUPER MARIO 64,AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

    5-0 out of 5 stars N64 ROCKS!!!!
I love the Nintendo 64. The N64 has some of the best games like super mario 64 and the legend of zelda the ocrina of time. If you like the older systems, then you need to pick up a N64 because it is awesome!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Console with amazing games..
The N64 had some of the best games on the planet and eventhough N64 was a great system it ended too quickly cause of the Gamecube. The N64 launched in some were in 96' and it launched some great titles and some incredible games. The N64 is one of the best systems ever but it also had a short lived history.I mean they could have come up with wayyyyyy more games No...

The N64 was one of Nintendo's finest and is probably better then the gamecube. The gamecube didn't have much launch games but N64 did.It had some amazing graphics and some really amazing games.

The N64 was at one point BETTER then Playstation and It could have but in the end the PS beat it.But make no mistake about. The N64 launched some pretty amazing games.Hell SOME OF THE BEST GAMES EVER Created.Sure N64 is old and cheap but it still has some really awesome games like

    Super Mario 64
Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time(greatest game ever)

    Conker's Bad Fur Day
    Starfox 64
    Paper Mario
    F-zero X
    Didy Kong Racing
    Donkey Kong

    and some more....

You will get your 5 bucks worth of this system and I think it should cost more then that eventhough it's out dated

It has amazing games, an amazing console and some really impressive graphics and that is why this is one of the best systems ever...But it aint' no Dreamcast I can tellz ya that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now this might seem kinda weird....
Kinda weird talking about a controller, and they usually arn't thought of too much. But this controller is really quite easy to get used to. In several situations, it can be used however the person wants, for comforts sake. It has the classic arrow directions, the newer joy stick, your average A and B buttons, a C button, split into 4 parts for specifics (left right up and down), the return of the L and R buttons from SNES, and a new, never before seen, Z button. All buttons are very reachable, however you choose to hold the controller. It has a total of 13 buttons and a joystick, yet they are all easily accessed. It is complex, but not complex so that things are hard to access. Everything from this point on, is the game programers idea of how it would be best to configure buttons to functions. The Z feels like a good trigger and the joy stick is great for directions in a way the key pad never was.
Another thing, for people who have smaller hands, or bigger hands, it really does not handicapt you in anyway, as some of the bigger, blukyer controlers do (Xbox). The only problom I have noticed, is with my 5 year old brother, he sometimes can't reach a L R or Z, since he is still growing, and really is too small to understand most of the games he's playing anyway.
Another plus is how all the buttons are color coded. With things like Triangle, Square, ect, I remember having big problems remembering which was which, and had to keep glancing down, handicaping me significantly. But it is easy to remember, blue is naturally down, B is a slight extention, and the c's can be felt easily, since they are close together.
To tell you the truth, I can only think about 1 time in a game where I had problems reaching something, and that was the L button while using the joy stick. Usually I just let go with my right hand and tap the L. But what I really, really want to see in the future, is a controller where I can hold it with one hand and do everything. (To use the other for pop-corn stuffing.) The N64 can be held with the left hand alone, and navigated, but the a and b are virtually impossible to tap without dropping the controller.
Enough! The point is, this is like a glove to a hand, exept it isn't warm and fuzzy. Get it in your favorite color! :-)

4-0 out of 5 stars nothing beats thereal thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought one of those imitation brands controller and it was not the same it was not accurate and the life span was short i decided to spend alittle more and get the real thing,i have no regrets,it maybe simple but its definitely the best out tnhere.......................

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST CONTROLLER EVER!!
This is hand down the best controller (best feel and most durable)out there!

4-0 out of 5 stars Suitable controller.
A very suitable controller for any N64 game, including high tech racing games. The joystick is flexible, and stays firm for a good while, but not for the most hardcore games. The extra buttons on the controller only come in use for particular gameplay moves and strategies. This is not common however, so the buttons are not particularly useful. The other inferior third party controllers, such as Naki International, are made poorly and break VERY easily. The control buttons also wear out rather rapidly. This type, licensed by Nintendo, takes a good amount to damage the buttons and cause wear. The entire device is nice quality, lasting longer than any controller would. The controller color does not matter, it is the same exact quality product. Buy this, and ONLY this. Happy gameplay!

    3-0 out of 5 stars so-so
It's a cool controller, I admit that, but it's kinda wierd. It doesn't have a very sturdy feel, the buttons seem weak, and the control stick made my hand ache for days. It's good, but a little crumby. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very satisfying purchase
I bought this system after a friend at work talked endlessly about how good DK64 is. Well, this combo set is the perfect way to get DK64 going really fast. It comes with the extra memory and the game so you can literally get the set and get going in no time. I had no trouble setting it up. The console's green color rocks! And the game is really fun. I have had the set for almost a year now, I play about 3 or 4 hours a week and the game continues to hold my attention. One of these days I will finish the game and have to worry about buying a second game, but I have not had that problem yet.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best deal in town!
First off, let's talk about the N64. The jungle green color is fantastic, especially in the sense that you can see through the N64 and see how the system and controller work. It even comes with an Expansion Pak and the system is not hard to install.

Now for the game. Donkey Kong 64 is phenomenal, and has pretty much revolutionized the platform concept. The game is HUGE with 201 Golden Bananas(I only have 189, it's that big), five Kongs, and several other items to collect. Each Kong also gets their own set of special moves and instruments. The graphics don't exactly live up to the hype because of the occasional slowdown and choppiness in my opinion. The levels don't start off very big either, Jungle Japes is ridiculously small(One of Chunky's bananas is simply found by throwing a rock) but they get bigger. Frantic factory shows the first major challenge with an extremely hard boss, Mad Jack. Gloomy Galleon shows great vastness with its large underwater areas. Fungi Forest is pretty much a very goofy level with mushrooms you can bounce on, a gaint clock tower, a skyscraper mushroom, a giant tree, and many old mills. Crystal Caves is a cold area and annoying at first because of the giant Kosha that knocks down slaclatites in a blatant attempt to kill your Kong. Creepy Castle is a confusing level with many twists and turns. The Kongs weapons are great, I am especially fond of DK's Coconut Shooter, which is one heavy packer. My favorite instrument is Diddy's Guitar which he plays better than some of these people with record deals! The game also has many special options which are unlocked by getting certain amounts of Banana Fairies with you camera. With 6 fairies, you can get the Enguarde and Rambi arenas...you get to become the animals and play special events that are much fun and a good break from the game. The 2-player mode isn't so hot but who plays the two player modes in a platformer? A great buy. Well worth your money.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Great Deal ! ! ! ! ! !

    5-0 out of 5 stars Nintendo 64- a Mom's dream!
My son is five years old. He, of course, wants to be just like a 'big kid'. So I was faced with any choices when it came to gaming systems. But, I decided on the Nintendo 64. The games are inexpensive and durable. This is a real plus with younger children. (No scratched/broken CD's) I picked up the Nintendo 64 console for $19.95. The price was excellent!! In my area, the selection of games for this sytem is pretty good. (At Game Exchange.) Also, the Ninetendo is in my son's favorite color- green. One added bonus- Dad remembers the games and can play along. This makes for some nice, quiet Mom time. I recommend this to anyone looking for inexpensive entertainment for kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars Correction for my previous post
I am now offering Zelda 64, cartridge only, free of charge along with the other items I am selling listed in my previous post.Works perfecly and is in great cond. One of my most favorite games.

5-0 out of 5 stars It stood the test of time!
The Nintendo 64 was released in 1996
and it is still my favorite game console, even
with the Gamecube, Xbox, and the PS2 being our
Next Generation choices of 2002, the N64 has stood the
test of time. Good graphics, incredible response (which you
won't find on the Gamecube.) and a great library of games
including all of Midway's great racing games and of course
Mario. All in all, N64 is nothing short of a great game console.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's advanced, it's strong, and now it's jungle green!
If you think the PSOne is great then think again. You might hear from school that PSOne is the king of all gaming but Nintendo is the company that brought gaming to people's home in the first place (Hint: NES).When the SNES came out, many could not wait to own one.It was the most advanced 16-bit system that uses the FX chip to improve the graphics. In 1996, Nintendo introduced the N64 and again many wanted to own one but not as many. Why is that? The reason is that PSOne owners are coming up with bad names for the N64 such as that it is for kids 6 and under. Some even tried to convince others that PSOne had a more powerful processor.I even read a rewiew that said the SNES had better graphics than the N64.Now that is not true.I am tired of those who try to give a great system a bad name. Now, I have done reasearch and also compared the PSOne to the N64 myself. The N64 is 3 times faster than the PSOne, has 4 times more polygonal power, higher resolution, stronger, more colorful, and 64-bits of processing graphics that can be improved with the expansion pack. What does the PSOne have that the N64 does not have? The only thing is that the CD's hold more and that it has about 900 games (N64 has about 400).The N64 can also handle FMV (don't tell me that it cannot because I have Resident Evil 2).All in all, the N64 is much more powerful than the PSOne and all other systems before it.If you are smart then buy this system because it is the same price as the PSOne and now it is in jungle green. ... The controller in green is better than the ones not licensed by nintendo itself and has the nintendo logo on the top of the controller. The other ones are terrible. Even though this controller is more exepensive it would probably not screw up your machine or controller. At least you know it works being compatible with n64 system.

5-0 out of 5 stars An old good green controller
I would have to say that this is a very good controller to buy. Who wants all of those new controllers that are "advance" and very hard to hold in hands? Hmmm? I thought so! Lets take for exapmle an InterAct SuperPad 64 Controller. It is very uncomfortable to keep in hands, and it is hard to play any games with it. Those new Funtastic Controllers are new-fashioned, so what??? Take the old good green controller. It has everything you will find on any other so-called new controllers. In fact it is more comfortable than the most of other controllers. Let's think this way, scientists say that green keeps your relaxed. I have played, I know. So choose this contoller and nothing else!

It was so unnatural. Then I tried the green N64 (although the color makes no difference) and it was asif all I was holding was a very light cat, it was so sleek and comfortable. When I was using the Pelican, I would have to stop playing after about anhour. With this one, I was definately going non stop.I have playedwithout pain for ten hours straight, stopping only for five minutes forlunch.A great deal even though its more expensive than the pelican, itsworth it! ... This is a so cool controller, unbeliavably ergonomic plus it costs you almost half of original one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Controller
This is a great controller.I like how its transparent and the auto fire function. The auto fire function is useful in games like Starfox or James Bond 007.But i never used the slow function yet though. My Interact Sharkpad Pro N64 controller works perfectly fine, except the design stickers peel a little but thats irrevelent to its functions. More details are the controller DOES HAVE theNintendo Seal of Quality on the box, its made by Interact(obviously)...it basically has the same features as a normal N64 controller except that it has an auto fire and slow function, the wire is longer too.Well thats it.

5-0 out of 5 stars best console ever?
This review is not particuarly for the "Smoke" edition, I own the basic black one with grey controller which isn't listed at Amazon.

I bought one when PS II and Gamecube were already on the market after played a friends N64for a couple of months.
Great games! I always thought Playstation was the console to have, but when I checked the games for both consoles I bought a N64 straightaway.
When you look at the best games for both systems (a top 10, if you like) the N64 has the best games:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
    Perfect Dark
    GoldenEye 007
    Super Mario 64
    Banjo-Kazooie
    Conker's Bad Fur Day
    Donkey Kong 64
    Banjo-Tooie
    Paper Mario

Ofcourse playstation has great games: Metal Gear Solid, Tombraider, Gran Turismo, Medal of Honor, Tekken 3, but no adventure game comes close to the Zelda games and there isn't a platform game on the playstation that matches Banjo, Mario and Donkey Kong 64.
Gran turismo is a great race game, but I don't like racers that much. And Tekken is a...fighting game...enough said.

And imagine a Playstation that will not load scratched discs or freezes for no reason at all.
Playstation looks better at first sight, but isn't that good build.
N64 is very well built and the game cartridges (cassettes) last forever.

The N64 controller looks ugly, but its handling is superb...blahdieblah.
This console made me go for the Gamecube and not the PS II or Xbox.
Overall this is the best console made, Gamecube still has to proove itself in my opion.

5-0 out of 5 stars The 3rd generation of nintendo.
I have only had this system for 2 years but I already have 12 or 11 games. My personal favorite The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Don't forget the N64 was the King of gaming sytems.
It sure beat PS1 in Grapics and Audio sound but it lost in Game
selection. I do agree with most of my N64 comrades that this system is more for younger gamers but thats Ok with me since I
have 4 younger sisters. Sure I would like a PS2 or Gamecube but
N64 is a good all around system. I got the system with an Atomic purple controller and a normal grey controller. I really want 4 more games before you can't find games in stores anymore.
I really want Majora's Mask the 2nd Zelda game for the N64.
Today I was at the Mall when I saw a kid with 3 N64 games I couldn't believe he had bought that many games from the same store since N64 games are hard to find. If anybody reads this review and you have a N64 in your closet and your playing your
PS2 switch them and play some classic N64. Let your PS2 fell
the neglect that your N64 gets all the time. Since you'll stick your PS2 in closet to play PS3 one day if a PS3 ever comes out.
I hope my review was helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Awesome console!
This Console is awesome of course because its a 64. Then its got this tight color dogg! I love the 64 its got some sweet games too!64 ALL THE WAY!

5-0 out of 5 stars N64 is a great system
Although there has been a lot of critism on the N64, all of it has been the lack of games. The N64 has had around 20 must have titles on it, but they were all spread apart so mfar in the later years of the console. Now that the price is lower, this is the perfect itme for owners to pick up the system and get the great games, especially since the price will be going down for software shortly with the release of gamecube.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Of The Best
Buying a system? Whell wat are ya waiten for. BUY NINTENDO 64.
First, Want grafics, games, or both? Not hard you want both.
N64 has both for 70$. PS1 has o.k. grafics and games for the same price about. Deamcast has awful games and great grafics for about the same price. Finally, you got PS2, It has both, FOR TWICE AS MUCH? N64 is the best value. I got N64, and I'm keeping it forever. Untill they make 3D systems N64 the best. My next system I'm going to buy is Game Cube because it's nintendo & nintendo RULES. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Wrong type of controller
I just want to inform potential buyers that if you are looking at their pictures of controllers and getting the warm fuzzy Nintendo brand item feel then think again. These people very subtly mention that the color AND BRAND may vary.DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT A NINTENDO BRAND CONTROLLER.I wanted one and after I clicked purchase I realized that was written there.I e-mailed them about this and heard no reply back.Ohh well, just make sure you read the subtle fine print

3-0 out of 5 stars "grape" controller N64
I received a standard grey controller...sure it arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it appears new and it works fine, but if I was going to get a standard controller I would have picked a cheaper vendor offering a standard controller. My kids would have thought the grape one was coool.

3-0 out of 5 stars WAY TOO EXPENSIVE
dont get me wrong, this remote is good and looks cool, but there are cheaper ones on this website that work just as good and cost half as much

4-0 out of 5 stars Best controler for an okay system.
If you insist on using the N64, I highly recomend you stick with the official N64 controlers.I have seen and used all sorts of third party controlers, and they are all terrible.
The official controler isn't great, it wears out with any heavy use (don't expect it to last more than a year). But it the best that the N64 has.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE STAR WARS EPISODE 1 PODRACING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best system nintendo has ever made!! It has my three favorite games on it (Star Wars Rouge Squadron, Star Wars Episode One Racer, and Top Gear Hiper Bike). I love the controler that so many people hate. The only downcast is that the games should have been compact disks and the expansion pack should come with it. Now on to the game. I have to say thas is my favorite game of all time. It has 24 races and seem to grow harder. It also is the only game that has 1 code that does all the codes. It has prety good grafics with out the expansion pack(I.e. I havn't played it with the expansion pack and it's not that bad). It has 23 pods I think. The courses expand from hot deserts to arctic coldness even in airborn places. The game has no weapons except sabullba's flame jet. It doesn't do much when you use it but sabullba becomes a very formidable enemy on the last lap with it...(Ps. the all cheat code is "rrtangentabacus". Thought it might help if your stuck on a race.)

4-0 out of 5 stars A pretty cool game
Well, I would say this game is probably the 2nd best game I've played because the graphics were good but the game was easy, to some people it maybe challenging and it takes you a month to do it or you zip right on through it, I would recommend it for anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars WHAT A COOL GAME!
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is the best nintendo game I've ever played.OK.First of all don't buy this because of the star wars title. It's a game thats all about racing using the star wars namethats all.But it's a fun challenging game and I would recomend it to anybody. If you don't have it already I'd buy it right here with the game console and controler.Thank you for your time.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A GREAT GAME!
I play this game with my friend. We have fun playing it.If you get a nintendo 64 get this game with it.I bet you would enjoy it. ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Cartridge games will be obsolete soon
I have owned N64 for at least five years, and I still play it, even though I bought a PS2 a year ago.The games are classic favorites, and it is great for multiplayer. The best games, in my opinion, are Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye 007, Smash Brothers 64, Perfect Dark, Zelda 64 (the flute one), and Mario 64.If you want a good sturdy system that can actually take a good measure of physical abuse, then by all means snatch it up.The only problems I have with the system are the poor quality of memory cards it puts out, and the awkward controller. However, since at present all the high end systems are based on the plastic disk ROM/DVD format, it may be worth something in the future, and in 30 yrs you can bring it to the Antiques Roadshow and have it appraised. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars a great low cost alternative
This is a great low cost alternative to the expensive nintenso expansin pack. It wprks exactly the same as the nintendo pack for half the price, and I am very satisfied with the purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Its like an expansion pack, only Nintendo did not make it.
This is a needed tool for the Gameshark Pro and certain games like Zelda. If you do not need it, pick it up for a little extra detail in all of your games. It makes everything look great and it stops the slowdown that games like No Mercy have. However, this is not an official Nintendo product, its from a 3rd party, so you might be better off buying the Nintendo Expansion Pack.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what it is supposed to; no problems or complaints.
It is pretty self-explanitory why this thing was made to go with Pokemon Stadium, but many of those people don't now that it also goes with many other game boy games now, such as Perfect Dark.If you like to interact your Game Boy and N64, get this because it it pretty cool.

2-0 out of 5 stars Interesting idea, but there is a problem
This pak is basically only for the Pokemon Stadium game, which is quite fun for me, since I love the strategy of Pokemon. Anyway, I got this and did not know that Pokemon Gold did not work with Pokemon Stadium (1) and I also discovered that you cannot mix and match Pokemon. For example, load one pokemon into the game and then rent pokemon of that type. Maybe I am not very experienced with this, or did not read up on the product more. However, if you can get it for a low price it is interesting. But, it hasn't worked for me since I lost my Pokemon Red game...
    Pros:
    1) You can add more pokemon that you cannot rent
    2) You can play the gameboy version
    3) It is a low price (especially when you get it used)
    Cons:
    1) Not enough games that work for it
    2) Simply, not really much point

    5-0 out of 5 stars ...
I got Pokemon Stadium2 this Christmas. But I soon found out that some strong pokemon cannot be rented, such as Lugia. I also got a gift certificate, so I decided to get a transfer pak with it. The game is more fun when you use your own Pokemon. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Instruction For Setting Sensitivity For This Wheel
I found this wheel quite nice although there are not a lot of them left on the market.Anyway, here is how you set sensitivity of the wheel:

    1. Preset levels:
    - Press the Set button
    - Press the directional key pad: Up (Most sensitive), Left (Medium) and Down (Least sensitive)

    2. Custom levels:
    - Press the Set button
    - Turn the wheel to the desired maximum
    - Press and hold the Set button again

    Enjoy!

3-0 out of 5 stars Instrucitons please
The wheel handles fine.I am currently trying to master EA's Nascar Thunder 2003, and I find that I do not have the instructions for setting the sensitivity of the wheel.

If someone could respond on how to set the sensitivity, or at least how to reset the default settings, it would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

5-0 out of 5 stars this wheel is the best
With only a few wheels for the n64 still around this one beats out all the competition.I used this wheel for hours on mario kart and all the cruisn' games. This wheel adds a new level of fun and difficulty.

2-0 out of 5 stars V3FX Racing Wheel
I would not recommend this wheel to anyone. Compared to the Logitech Force Feedback wheel for the PS2, this one is its baby. I had lots of problems trying to keep the wheel from moving when playing a game it liked to move when it was in my lap and when it was on the desk. Also, the force feedback was horrible compared to the logitech force feedback wheel. Fokes stay away from this one if you no whats good for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not That Bad
I find this wheel easy to use on Beetle Adventure Racing and using a car and hover craft in Diddy Kong Racing but don't push your luck and try to fly with it.The adjustments help just about any one feel comfortable ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great saver
This is a great saver to by it is is a rumble 1MB or 4 Times 256 saver its as high in saving room you can get on a save pack or memory card or conntroller pack it sounds great im bying it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good Memory, Poor Rumble
I bought this pak and was very excited, I plugged it in and started saving everything that stored data on memory cards. I was very happy with that part of the pak, for the exception of the pak only had 492K of memory instead of the promised 1 MB. The reason I got this pak was because I was tired of always switching from memory to rumble and losing my data in between. I would call this a shiver pak plus 4x memory memory, the "2x rumble" was far below my expectations. You have to literally cup your hands around the pak in order to feel the strongest blow, and since its not battery operated, I know that is not a power problem. Being 12, I think I can handle the switch between memory and "rumble". So in summary, don't get this pak!! Unless that is you like to have a big, heavy, memory pak.

I being a 13 year old have lots of nintendo 64 items.I have tried the Tremor Pack Plus and say it is a need. Unlike all the other things(memory cards, expantion packs) and what not, this has very good rumbling and greatsaving abilities. The main point of this item is to have a memory card and atremor pack biuld into one. This is a need for all of the N64 lovers outthere. You have to get it! And PS- it doesn't cost much either. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars much better than original, but has its flaws
i have a purple one of these (not that it makes a difference) and have had it for a year. i has worked great during that time, but recently an inner part of the z button broke off. i took it apart and super glued it, but it only worked for a few more days. all in all it is a very good PRECISION controller (i.e. the control stick is much more precise in games like mario 64).but if you want one that lasts a long time, go with the original.

5-0 out of 5 stars N64 Super controller blue
I love this controller, not only does the style feature a catchy look, but the color is also a match. For me the regular controller had handles on each side that couldnt fit to my hands and i just wanted to say that if you need a controller that you can do quick coordinated moves, or just for something to not cramp your hand from time to every 5 minutes, This is it. I can't wait till i recieve this product!

2-0 out of 5 stars You're kidding.... RIGHT?
This thing is very comfortable, for the week or so that it works!Like some of the other reviewers, and other people I know that own these, the Z button is a BIG problem. After the week or so that I said it will work, the Z button caves in, and there is no real way to get it out.I tried taking it apart. and it didn't really help. The rest of the controller, however, was better than the original. But many games can't be played (at least to their fullest) without the Z button! It might be more comfortable and accessible, but it's still a horrible product! What a joke.InterAct should be ashamed.FOR GOD SAKES, BUY THE REAL CONTROLLER!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars comfortable, but breaks easily
I have had one of these in gray.It is much more comfortable than the regular ones because you have more freedom of movement having only the middle "stick".Plus, the buttons are a little closer to each other and the L and R buttons are more easily accessible.
However, I would recommend purchasing a different brand; the Z button is a real problem. It stopped working after about a month, so I opened it up to fix it - part of the button itself broke, being the... plastic that it is.I used super glue to fix it, closed it up, and it worked for a few more days. Then it broke again, and I can't even get it open because the screws stripped so easily. This, of course, takes a lot of function out of many games, and is now just trash.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super!!
This is a great controller for the money! I have one and it is great! It's very durable and lasting. Since the only controller that I've played with is this one, when I go over to friends house who have the normal controller I hate it. So people who write the bad reviews just aren't used to this controller. I think if you just bought an N64 and you're looking for another controller but don't have enough money to buy the regular controller buy this one! ... Read more
