5-0 out of 5 stars please help me.....
i realllllly want xbox live (but i dont have an xbox). I'm thinking seriously about purchasing an xbox with the xbox live starter kit and a few live games. but i need to know something. if i buy this adapter, what else do i need? if my computer is upstairs and the xbox will be downstairs, do i need this and a wireless router and an adapter for the pc? or just this and a router? or just this? or something more? PLEASE answer my question, it could mean you have a new competitor on xbox live.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great - No Lag
I was skeptical at first about this, seeing as how I had never gone wireless before. However, this adapter really works and there is not a spot of lag. Actually, I was having more lag problems when I was directly connected to a modem.

Linksys offers an alternative to this called a game adapter. It is the same price and I imagine that it works just as well. Don't make the mistake of trying to save money and buying another router or an access point, it won't work.

5-0 out of 5 stars XBOX LIVE WIRELESS ADAPTER
Excellent so easy to set up less than 1 minurt i was registering for xbox live recomend it for all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Took a while
well i tryied to get on to xbox live the ip and all that stuff was ok so i didn't really know what to do.So basically i upgraded the adapter's firmware Heres the link http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/broadbandnetworking/10_DLoadMain.mspx microsoft should make it easier to find stuff basically what you do is you plug in the wireless adapter to your ethernet port and install the file and it will detect and update your firmware.I tried that and it didn't work so i also updated my linksys WRT54G's firmware and it worked heres the link for that http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=201
great product after the updates its full 54mbps at two floors below

5-0 out of 5 stars The Solution
We recently relocated my son's X-box paraphernellia to a kids-only area in our basement. This has been a great arrangement for everyone except we were unable to let him use the family Internet connection anymore to play his X-box games online. Well we could have strung ethernet cable from one end of the house to the other, but that wasn't an option.

Enter the X-Box Wireless G Adapter.

Well, actually, first came the the Lyksys Wireless B game adapter ($63.53, Wal Mart), which did not work after hours of goofing around with configuration, numerous calls to their outsourced tech support in New Delhi and a royal headache. Although I suspect that it could have worked with the right techno incantations, I finaly realized that saving a few bucks was not worth all the time. I took it back and ordered the Mirosoft adapter ($99.99, Game Spot, via Amazon, $7.49 S&H) and made myself at home in the age of wireless.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this thing is ridiculously easy to set up. I just plugged it in, it detected my wireless network, IP adresses and all that rigamorole and TA DAH. My son says he experiences no lag and the connection is totally reliable and I've not noticed any problems using the Internet while my son is playing on line.

For you gear heads here. My service provider (QWEST) offers a wireless broadcasting DSL modem (basically it acts as a wireles router would). All I had to do was get into the hood and turn the wireless mode on and set up a 64-bit (or 128-bit) WEP key, which already had done while I was futily trying to get the Linksys adapter to work. Security options on the X-box interface were easy to find and after I typed in the WEP key, the X-box (or the adapter) did all the rest.

You'll save a lot of time and headaches just going with the Microsoft gear in this case.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I have had mine for four months and nothing has gone wrong. All my friends have complained about their head sets from other companies, but this one works really well.

2-0 out of 5 stars Worthless piece of junk
I only got about four hours of use out of the headset before the plastic piece that holds the earphone on it broke. This thing is a piece of garbage.

If you need a headset for Live do yourself a favor and don't buy Microsoft's.If you're just getting onto X-Box Live you'll be better off buying seperate a subscription card and a third party headset than buying the X-Box Live starter kit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice Headset, but needs improvement
Well, this headset looks cool, but really, it's very cheap. Mine has not broken yet, but it is on the verge of breaking. As everyone else said, these are very fragile, and uncomfortable. The plastic is very flimsy. Sound quality is good, and it has a sound control too, so if someone is screaming, and you can't mute them at the moment, you can turn your volume down until you can mute him. The headset comes in three pieces, the microphone and speaker, headgear, and Headset to controller connecter (which looks sort of like a memory card). I would recommend you buy the Plantronics GameCon Halo 2 headset over this one, because it is more comfortable, and bit more durable. It surpasses this headset by far.

1-0 out of 5 stars it's crap
i read a review of 1 guy having 3 broken ones. about a week ago i broke my third headset... i was so disgusted. I took good care of it, but the little plastic piece that everyone talks about finally broke. Everything about this headset is perfect except for 2 things. 1: some of the headsets have weak hold on where the microphone holds up. This means every time you put on this headset you might have to adjust it... and it's annoying because it's a loose adjust. 2: The infamous piece of plastic that everyone who has a broken headset knows about. It's a console headset yet they make it like it's on your computer desktop. Screw you, microsoft! 30 dollars for this piece of junk. I had to put a screw in my other 2 headsets now they work great.

If you get this headset, take good care of it. Leave it in the SAME SPOT every single time you put down your controller. That's the only way you're going to keep it alive for more than a year. Know where it is at all times.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fragile
The clip that attaches the earpiece to the headband just broke on mine after dropping it on the carpet...Same thing happened to a family members.Sure, it's stylish, but go with an alternative. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does the trick
I've had DVD players come and go, so its kinda cool to have a gaming console that plays dvd's too.Yeah, I know the PS2 has that capability without a remote, I have one of those too.But one of the cool things I noticed about the X Box playback kit is that the remote looks just like the ones made by RCA. I tried a few of the controls on the DVD funtion of my RCA universal remote, low and behold it worked.Kinda a hand thing, I've got to many remotes floting around as it is, so that part was nice.Mine works great, I use it instead of having to re-arrange my already overpacked entertainment center to put in my other DVD player.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good
I found this product good, i have no problems with it what so ever. some people say just buy a dvd player but then you have more wires in the back of your tv. Also if you want your x box and dvd player to go into one suround sound or stereo the is great cause you get to have a dvd player and a x box in one wire going into the speakers. this is also great if you dont want to spend any more money on buying another dvd player and you already have a xbox. i have my xbox upstairs with the dvd adapter, and a dvd player down stairs so if i want a change of secnery.

i love my xbox and it's adapter i have no problem with the remote either.

2-0 out of 5 stars Get only if you don't have a stand alone DVD player already
"Hey kids, fire up the XBOX and lets watch this movie!"

That is what is heard through households that own an XBOX but for some reason or another they are still in the 90's and don't already have a DVD player.

Like my title suggests, if you already have a DVD player, this is a waste of money. The only reason I purchased one is because my DVD player had problems playing some DVD-R's that I got from a friend. I had some money to burn so I just wanted to see if the XBOX DVD kit could play it to determine if the DVD was a bad burn or was it just my DVD player. I found that the XBOX was able to play the DVD-R's in question with no problem. However, aside from those two DVD-R's, all of the DVD's I own are bought from retail stores, so I really have no need to play DVD-R's, and my DVD player plays normal discs perfectly.

With that being said, I only used XBOX's DVD playback kit once to watch the DVD-R's I had problems with. Because of the content of these burned "movies", there is really no need to watch them again....... However if push comes to shove I can always use one of my PC's or Mac to watch the burned DVD; no need to use my XBOX for that. I meant to return the DVD kit the next day, but never got around to it.

The XBOX's DVD player is a good feature, but the fact that Microsoft charges you to use the feature makes it not worth the money.....unless of course you don't have a DVD player at all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke after 20 minutes
My only experience with this product was after I opened it, and started to play a DVD in my Xbox, when I tried to pause it, it didn't work, and it had brand new batteries. I found (after much frustration) that if I smacked it against my hand a few times then it would work for about 2 minutes. I took it back to exchange for another in hopes that it was just a bad unit, but it was sold out so I just got my money back. You can buy a DVD player for not much more than this way overpriced piece of junk costs.

1-0 out of 5 stars ATTENTION
DO NOT USE THIS
the dvd thing causesthe xbox to break. when u play games the disk doesnt constantly spin. it reads some and takes break so it doesnt over heat. when it reads a dvd, it must constantly spin. the dvd playback kit fryed my xbox. at most "best buy"s you can buy a dvdplayer that functions better for less money than the one for xbox. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I frequently travel to Vermont from Connecticut.Once i got my Xbox i needed a way to bring it back and forth.I saw aluminum cases that were over pirced and cheap nylon backpacks.I saw this last year in fye.I think it was $40.00 then but well worth the money.First of all, it holds 2 controllers, some cables, and memory cards in the top pocket.Sometimes i can even jam in another controller or the Xbox communicator.Inside, its even better. There are slots to hold 16 games and pockets for their manuals or instructions. The Xbox is strapped down inside the case so it doesnt move around. This case protects your Xbox very well. Not only is it good for its price but it is the best case available.

4-0 out of 5 stars Convenience Has Never Been So Sweet
G-Pak Xbox Organizer and Travel Case is is not only convenient, but compact. It's big enough to hold about two controllers and all connector cables. Not only that, but you can compact close to twenty games in the sleeve compartment. It's great for travel, being big enough to check. If you're protective over your Xbox as I am, it also doubles as a carry-on, fitting snugly in all under-seat storage areas.Upon arrival at your destination, you can easily set up your system without ever removing your Xbox. The back/bottom of the case opens for the sole purpose of cable connectivity. The only drawback to this accessory is its underabundance of storage capacity for vital accessories.Four controllers simply refuse to squeeze in there, let alone all necessary cables. If your an anti-social gamer, great. But for all you socials, you better bring a plastic bag for additional accessories.Overall, it's a best-buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent way to transport your xbox
Since I have moved farther from home, I am unable to bring my desktop computer with me to play computer LAN games with my friends. Since my friends and I have an xboxes, I wanted a safe way of transporting it across the country. I also wanted a case that would care just about everything I needed to bring with me and be strong enough to protect my xbox. This product has solved those problems for me. The case overall is very light with room to store two controllers, all the cables, at least 16 games, 2 memory cards. The case is also very durable and will survive traveling by airplane (as a carry-on item). The light weight is a plus when walking around large airports versus the larger heavier metal cases. This case is also designed for you to play your xbox right from the case (meaning you don't have to remove it to use it). However, I would take it of the case if you are planning on playing it for more than 4 hours. The only cons to this case for me is that I wish it had some more room to store extra controllers (like 3 or 4) and possible a hub.

Otherwise this is an excellent product!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very innovative and nearly perfect
I play a lot of Halo at friends' houses, and I found it a pain to remember all the hardware when I go, and I would be concerned about dropping my console on the way there! This product takes care of both problems!

The Pros are:

- dense padding protects Xbox from moderate shock
- plenty of room for two controllers and normal wires, including a 12' Ethernet cord.
- Streamlined (not like that other Xbox backpack, that begs your friends to make fun of you, heheh).
- [Editorial Review is true to form, everything mentioned is correct]

the CONS are:

- Not enough room for Ethernet Hub (could use about two more square-inches of accessory space).
- There are vents to help with cooling. However, I would be hard-pressed to actually keep my Xbox in the G-Pak all the time.I'm sure it's good for 1-2 hours of gameplay; I would not expect ample cooling for a 3-4 hour Halo romp.
- Price could be a little lower.I would not have purchased it for $29.95 (got it as a gift).I would be willing to pay $24.95

4-0 out of 5 stars good product
The only problem I had with this product is that because my reciever only has one optical input and one coaxial input it meant robbing my dedicated dvd player of it's precious optical input. The xbox sounded very good playing games, but suddenly movies lost their impact. So unfortunatly I disconnected the xbox's optical output and reconnected it to the dvd player since it plays movies much clearer. The xbox is now connected via standered stereo plugs, on my reciever I merly put the xbox on dolby pro logic and the surround experiance was still very good. For a short while though the sound was very good,if you have a spare optical output this is the goods of xbox. And if some of you are wondering why I didn't get the high definition pack it's because my flat screen tv only has one component video reserved for the dvd player.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth its weight in gold
If you want a digital audio conection with or without the S-video hookup, this is the product to purchase.Don't worry about the monster cable connections. It really won't provide you with the sound quality that the offical X-box digital AV pack audio connection would provide. With the Advance AV pack, the optical or coax cable can plug directly into the connector without the purchase of any other equipment. It's nice and it's not expensive.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product, but needs a digital coaxial output
I wanted to utilize the surround sound out of my computer speakers for xbox, but obviously a the subwoofer doesn't have analog audio inputs. It does, however, have a coaxial input. I thought about buying monstor composite cables and the optical audio adapter, but it would cost too much money. All I just simply bought the advanced AV pack, and a cheap optical audio cable. Then, I bout an optical audio to digital coaxial converter at [website], and a digital coaxial cable. It successfully gets the surround sound out of my xbox, which is AWESOME.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't find info on this? Here it is...
I scoured the Web to find info on the Advanced AV Pack with no luck.I called several stores, got a different answer from each one, all of which turned out to be wrong. So here's the real scoop: The Advanced AV Pack has an S-Video output, a standard RCA-type analog video output, RCA-type analog left and right audio outputs, and an optical audio output. An S-Video cable is included. My TV doesn't have S-Video; I bought it purely for the Dolby Digital 5.1 output, which is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!It's definitely worth it for the digital surround sound alone!Remember, for Dolby Digital sound you'll need a Toslink optical cable, and an Xbox game (like Ghost Recon) that supports Dolby Digital.

4-0 out of 5 stars Does the trick, but...
If you want DTS sound, you are forced to use an optical cable.A ditigal coax option would be nice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Way better then the "S" Controller
I started using this kind of controller at my friends house when I was 12. It fit perfectly and I have relativly small hands. I hate the new controller because they moved some of the buttons and i have had a hard time finding the original. Hopefully Microsoft will continue to make the original because it is way better!

5-0 out of 5 stars better controller
i personally prefer the big bulky controller for the big bulky x box system becsuse that is what it is. this is a mature teen- adult gaming system so little kids shouldnt even be able to play this system (violent x box games) at all anywayz. i honestly feel more comfortable having some space for mny fingers instead of being crunched up in the little gamecube controllers. maybe its bevcause i was born to have big hands so i like big controlelrs but w/e

4-0 out of 5 stars I thought that they didnt sell these anymore
I used to think that they didnt sell these kind of Xbox controllers anymore.I hate using those small controllers. These big ones actually are more comfortable and my hands are puny.

1-0 out of 5 stars P.O.S.
I bought two controllers with my Xbox a little over a year ago and they are both done. One of them doesn't respond (cord is broken) and on the other one the joystick is broken and doesn't move correctly.I called Microsoft support and all they could tell me was go out and buy another controller (great, blow another thirty dollars on Microsoft).

I've experienced way too many problems with Xbox in addition to my controllers.I'd recommend anyone to get Gamecube or PS2.

1-0 out of 5 stars They messed up my order
I specifically ordered the original Xbox controllers (like someone else who sent in a review) but I was sent 4 small, turbo controllers. I am hoping that they will replace these turbo controllers with the ones that I want and pay for the shipping because it was clearly their mistake. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheap controller - in price and quality
If you're looking for a 3rd and 4th controller for parties, then this is for you.I got a pair for under $20 each. The layout and size is very much like the Microsoft S controller.Unfortunately, the buttons feel mushy, soft, and cheap. The quality is also inconsistent. For example, the left thumstick on my controller have a "click" when you push down on it (as it should), but the right one doesn't.Some of the triggers scratch against the frame, and they don't have the same tension. The left trigger feels solid, but the right trigger feels too soft.I wouldn't use this as a first or second controller, but at its price, it's great as a controller for parties.

4-0 out of 5 stars The best alternative to the Controller S
If you want a controller that is similar to the Xbox Controller S but a sawbuck cheaper, give this controller a try.Build quality is not quite as good as the Microsoft controller, but it's not bad at all.The controller feels very solid. The Phoenix has features that make it a little more comfortable than the Controller S, such as a little bit of rubber on the grips to prevent slipping, and a slightly slimmer design.I also like the placement of the face buttons slightly better than the Controller S's configuration. The black and white buttons are also more easily accessible.

I have read older reviews that complained about the Phoenix's D-pad, but those problems seem to have been resolved.Although stiffer and less responsive than Microsoft's controller, the D-pad functionality is still very good. The face buttons feel good too, although they are slightly "clicky".Very responsive though. The triggers feel a little looser and are a little bit too narrow and sharp, but again, response is very good. The analog stick is comparable to the standard Microsoft controller as well.

If you need a couple of extra controllers for your Xbox, and you want to save a little money, I highly recommend the Gamester Phoenix pad.Your friends won't cry foul for your trying to foist an inferior controller on them. They (and you) may possibly prefer it.

5-0 out of 5 stars For 20 bucks, it's a good buy. It's also a great design!
I've used a few of the big X-Box controllers and found them all lacking. If you like the smaller s Controller design, and want a back-up, this is the one. The pads make for better grip and the dual shock is really well-tuned. Gamester put a lot of work into this and it shows.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good second controller for the Xbox
If you need a second controller for the Xbox (the system comes with only one, the Controller S) and don't want to spend $25-$35 for another Controller S, then this is a more than adequate substitute. This solidly constructed, durable controller is similar in design to the Controller S, with the same kind of dual analog button/control layout and rubber grips that makes the Controller S so user-friendly. It also features Dual Force Feedback, which allows you to feel the action with every punch, explosion, or impact. Plus, it comes in three colors: black, green, and metallic blue. Overall, a pretty good accessory for the Xbox system. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars not as good as version 3
it's simple.. if you have an xbox, get xbox live. it makes every game twice as fun and has some other nice features. you can download updates not only for some of your games, but for your xbox, too.

but the question here isnt whether or not to get xbox live, its what exactly should you buy? from using all 3 (the starter kit, version 2 and version 3) and the prices i've seen on amazon, i would reccommend either buying the starter kit or version 3.

version 2 is only a little better than the starter kit, in my opinion.. but not $10 better. if you have the money, you want to go for version 3, but if you dont have the $10 for version 3 instead of 2, you might as well save another $10 and get the starter kit. so what the heck did i just say? i said buy version 3!

5-0 out of 5 stars Living Life one Live at a Time
Live is a great service that really does hsow that online console gaming can be a viable future. This version comes with Mech Assault, easily one of their most popular online games, and Tetris, which isn't really anything new, but it's a good standby.

There can be lag on the headset, and how lobbies and the details about how the service is used can greatly vary from product to product, as each developer has done thins differently.

5-0 out of 5 stars At it's best!!
Xbox Live is no where compareable to Sony's Playstation 2 online capabilities. Any game provides hours upon hours of extra gameplay after the single player mode, which I haven't even played since getting Xbox Live. And how can you beat content downloads such as extra levels, updated rosters, new vehicles, and new maps? Not to mention the awesome friends list so you ALWAYS have someone to play and talk ... to via the communicator.High speed internet access is reqiured to play, which means no lag, I have yet to experience it and my cable modem is on the other side of the house.Playstation 2, haha, lag city. And who cares about playing Madden 2004 online, Xbox Live will have XSN sports network in a few weeks providing any sport you can think of online, with tournament and playoff options inluding leauges you can create and invite your friends.I think enough has been said, trade in or sell that ... Playstation 2 and do us all a favor and get Xbox and Xbox live. You'll thank me and be glad you did.Peace out, time to play online with Xbox Live.

4-0 out of 5 stars Su-perve performance!
I very much enjoyed this product. It only has a few downfalls....

The headset has a lag, for example......

If you say something to another person, you can here it in the head set, it also has a small delay.

In some games the frame rate is degraded, and performance speed slows down. Almost like having 56k.

Overall: Yes it is worht the money, but if you have to pay more than 50 dollars to buy a router, or something else to hook it up than no, it is not worth buying.

4-0 out of 5 stars It wipes out the comptetition, but vast improvements is need
I love Xbxo Live, but the lag is very high and we are PAYING for a what should be FREE P2P service... When M$ hosts no-lag servers, then it will be a 5! There were a couple up for about 3 weeks for Unreal Championship and a few for Soldier of Fortune II, this area must be improved upon! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Two controllers cannot be used with each other
We bought two of these controllers for Christmas. My two boys cannot use them at the same time. They don't work together - they seem to receive signals from each other. They are using their old wired controllers, so they can play together. Also, when the batteries get low everything turns to the left.

4-0 out of 5 stars bad quality control spoils an otherwise great controller
First of all, AMAZON has to change the description of this item. This controller comes with its own "RECHARGABLE" battery pack and charger. And it DOES NOT take AAA batteries, or any other batteries. In fact, if the supplied battery pack dies, you may be in trouble. You can not put regular batteries in it without some modifications to the battery chamber. The battery pack is a sealed unit, and seems to comprise of two AA Ni-Cad rechargable batteries.

The first unit I received would not work. The problem eventually turned out to be a bad charger for the battery pack. Amazon sent me a replacement pretty fast, and that unit seemed to work fine, but the controller acted funky when the left joy stick was pressed all the way to the left. This somehow caused it to trigger the left trigger buton too! Since I had still not returned my first unit, I used the controller from the first one, and after some mix-and-match, I had the whole setup working to my satisfaction. I waited for a few days before returning the remaining set to Amazon. Basically, this is all because of bad manufacturing and quality control.

Another possible problem with the unit is that is uses 2.4GHz frequency. I was not able to use the unit when my wife was speaking on our Panasonic 2.4GHz cordless phone. Fortunately, we also have an older 900MHz coreless phone that we remember to use when using this controller. I have an 802.11a wireless access point, which uses 5GHz so it does not interfere. Another potential interference causing unit is the microwave oven. If you have too many 2.4GHz sources at home, try the Logitech wireless controller instead. I believe it works at 900mhz.

5-0 out of 5 stars Answer to drift problem
First, if your contoller drifts right then return it and get a new one.(YOU CAN NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, ONLY PREVENT IT) The reason for the problem is not making the switch on the bottom of the reciever match the controller slot. Also, the switch under the battery pack has to match the reciever and the controller slot.(IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS THE PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN)

4-0 out of 5 stars Wireless Wonder
Here's the real skinny on this near clone of the original Microsoft Xbox controller (not the "s" controller). It is extremely comfortable, even after several hours of non-stop gaming. It includes a "RECHARGEABLE" battery pack and charger. The battery lasts for about 60 hours of use, and recharges in 4 hours. The controller works wirelessly on 2.4 Ghz frequency. This is great and very reliable, however, a word of caution; if you have other wireless items nearby, such as a phone or router that uses 2.4 Ghz frequency, this may cause intermittent interference. When using the controller next to my 2.4 Ghz wireless phone, when the phone rings or is in use, it causes the controller to act somewhat irrational during gameplay. I gather this is an issue not exclusive to this product or manufacturer, but to all electronics using the same radio frequency in close proximity. The controller has vibration control, and is excellent for FPS and TPS games, as well as for other games. Tested on 12 games and works exceptionally well. Also has turbo feature and is made of high quality with rubberized grips and thumbsticks. Only gave this controller 4 stars, instead of 5 stars, due to a repeated issue involving the controller having a tendency to occaisionally drift to the right on the left thumbstick, even when the stick is not being touched. This isn't an issue for most games, but presents an issue for shooter games, since pinpoint accuracy/control is needed. I've had the controller for a week, and really enjoy using it. The manufacturer claims it works to 30 feet away. The receiver also has two memory card slots, and is visually pleasing and complimentary to the system. My plan is to return this controller to Toys'R'Us, and exchange it for another one. Hopefully, the issue won't be there on the new one. Worth the 50 bucks. If the issue repeats, I'll still keep the controller and deal with its personality. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars More than just a transport for saved Games!
Many people have their reasons for buying or not buying a memory card. I had to buy one because I have more than one person in the house that plays the same games I do. And, for whatever reason, not all the games offer seperate save slots for you and someone else to save. Only one saved game on that huge hard drive? Sounds funny but some games work that way. To eliminate this problem, I purchased a memory card for the second person, and it's working out great. So don't give up on the memory card just yet. There is a purpose to everything.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Definite Necessity
Many people will ask,"Why would anyone waste their hard earn money on a TINY 8MB memory card when there is a HUGE (and free) 8GB hard drive in the X-Box?" The answer comes in two parts. Firstly, if the system ever breaks down for any reason, there is a good chance that your "free" hard drive will be erased, or your memory will get corrupted (this actually does happen, it happened to me). Second of all, it is the only way to share or move important game data (I discovered the wonders of personalized data while playing HALO with a system link, which I highly recommend as being the single best gaming experience ever). Buying a thirty dollar memory card might sound a bit frivolous, but if you already payed [a lot of money] for the system, and a ridiculous amount on games an peripherals, it is a well spent insurance plan.

3-0 out of 5 stars Use the memory card for game data backup insurance
There is a more compeling reason to buy a memory card...when your xbox breaks down. Because all of your achived levels and player stats are stored on the internal hard drive, if you ever need to send in your xbox for repair, there is a significant chance that they will wipe the hard disk clean and/or update the OS, or replace it with a new hard disk if that was the cause of the failure. This would result in *ALL* of your game data being lost and you would then need to re-play *all* of your games for dozens of hours just to get to where you were before the xbox broke.

So, I'm getting this memory card and doing "backups" every so often so if the xbox ever breaks, I won't loose my game data.

3-0 out of 5 stars spend your money somewhere else.... no need here
I researched the lil' peice before buying it and found NO real purpose for having it other than just having something to plug in your joystick. Like the other reviewer said "Made for those who have friends with XBOXes and want to trade/load/share their info with them". I don't know anyone with an XBOX, so sharing files isn't a must for me right now.

oNe

3-0 out of 5 stars NO! unless you have friends with an XBOX
the only purpose I found for having this is NONE! XBOX has a hard drive to save everything to. Made for those who have friends with XBOX and want to trade/load/share their info with them. Everyone I know has a PS2. This serves me no purpose fro now. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool but only if you know someone who has an Xbox
The only use this has is to take saves over to friends houses.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Memory Card
This Memory Card is just as good as microsofts card only it looks a hole lot cooler and cheaper. It is great for transporting data so you can play what you saved on your own XBOX on your friends XBOX.It fits right in the back the controller and has 8 Mega Bytes of space on it. It is definitly a must for XBOX.

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT memory of a card
This memory card is the best memory card out now.i know because i love videogames and i have every thing you could imagine and this memory card rules!

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT memory of a card
This memory card is the best memory card out now.i know because i love videogames and i have every thing you could imagine and this memory card rules!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars a must have unless you wan`t to risk your xobx.......
this is a must have for the xbox gammer if you have a friend with a xbox or if you want to back up your games. now i don`t know about you people out there but i sure don`t want to take my xbox to a friends house just to have a saved game that he has or to give him a saved game some time you will drop it takeing it there and that will be the end of your 300 $ xbox. plus when you get it there you can`t take his saved game without a system link cable that costs $15 in it self! i would spend and extra 15 $ to protect my xbox from being droped plus you don`t have to hook up all the cables and everything everytime you want to get a saved game. i am getting this for cristmas (trust me i know) and i would pay for it if i wasn`t because my friend has one and i want to have his save games and when i go there i will give him my saved games. there is added bonous that is very nice to have, this memory card comes with preloaded save games! i know for sure it has 4x4 evo but on the box it says it has more too. this also comes with a case to protect your memory card. plus it is officially licened by microsoft and have a no memory loss garentee. so people if you don`t want to risk loosing your xbox and hae to cary it around get this is is small light and will fit into your pocket. plus you can steal other peoples game saves. (note: when you take a game save and put it on here it does not erase it off your xbox it just copys it onto the memory card.) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It does the job!
The screen quality is exceptional due to the lcd display, but the main problem is that it is so small. I am guessing most of us have played any of the GTAs. Since the screen is so small, you can't see how many rounds you have left for your gun. The speakers do okay, but if you plug in the headphones, it gets really loud. Overall, for fourty bucks, I would definitely get it again if I needed to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Multiplayer?
What's Meant by "Multiplayer" support? Let's say I wanna play Halo... If 4 of you are playing, is it possible to zoom into your box? OR will you see 4 boxes on your Controller Screen? These things are cheap and wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for it. 5 stars for the price! The rest is up to fate

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice Idea
This was a really great idea to have this and i agree this accessorie is so sweat with Halo,Time Splitters 2, and Dead or Alive ultimite.

4-0 out of 5 stars Thats what she said....
was written in above.. "I would have paid $50 or $75 for something that was at least 4 inches.. "

That's what she said!

Great controller for the money.Definately a neat gadget.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for $30.00
I bought this with the intent to play while someone else watches TV, or for road trips. However, it's just too small!!I tried it out with Project Gotham Racing 2, and while it did look decent, it was just too small, and I started to get a headache after about 20 minutes of playing, and I also noticed that I wasn't driving well AT ALL, it was really hard to see things until you are right on top of them!!!

But, for $30, which is the same cost for a "regular" controller, it's not too bad at all..I will probably end up getting the 7" screen, or at least the 5.6" screen at some point..Like I said before, this one isn't too bad at all, but it needs to be bigger, I would have paid $50 or $75 for something that was at least 4 inches.. ...
